It's Friday Friday Thank God it's Friday This free keep Friday This is Bears Friday Friday Friday Friday Good morning Chicago And welcome in to the Captain Jay Hood Morning Show On ESPN 1000 And we are streaming on the ESPN Chicago app But David Kaplan, Jonathan Hood with you We've got Shay, we've got Jay Moore and we've got you Here's our bench, we have a great weekend 3-1-2-3-3-2-E-S-P-N-3-2-3-7-7-6-R-Fo-Number Watch our show on YouTube, YouTube.com Look for ESPN Chicago as well as on Twitch Twitch.tv/esp1thousandChicago We talked to you about the Bears or matchup against the Texans We got coverage all day on Sunday, starting at 7am Right here on ESPN 1000 Yes it is a night game, but we've got the coverage for you As we get ready for the second game of the season for the Bears Bears had a really solid second half We're going to lead them to a victory against the Titans Now it's a different beast now, Cap, because we're talking about being on the road, rookie quarterback, Shane Waldron offensive coordinator wants to get everybody involved as much as possible and it's going to take the kitchen sink and more for the Bears to be able to beat a playoff team from last year that came out of nowhere The whole key is going to be able to establish the run and take care of the football You cannot watch them get a 14-point lead We've got to throw the ball 48 times That is a recipe to get your head kicked in But if all of a sudden you're like wow, Bears are establishing the run Ooh, they just took a 28 yard game down the field, the DJ Mo Oh, they took a shot down the field, big play to Tyler Scott Let's go, you got a chance But if you get into a war with them just through the air It's not going to end well And Waldron the offensive coordinator for the Bears gets a chance to speak to the press yesterday Giving his evaluation overall on the offense Yeah, I think for us on offense, you know, starting with the no turnovers Like we're always going to take pride in that Being able to finish the game with flipping the field in a four minute situation You know, those were positives we were able to take away from the game And then we know throughout the flow of the game We want to look to play just like we talked about Like as far as our expectations, you know, of being where our feet are planted But playing a clean game from an operations standpoint I think we can keep working to improve on that Playing with better tempo all throughout the course of the game And stuff that we'll look to keep improving And there's nothing like game reps for us as an offense to get out there Be able to come in the building on Monday And evaluate and talk through everything And like we talked about expectations, our main one is to get better each and every day that we're out there So before I play this next clip from Waldron, for those who had missed it yesterday If I asked you point blank cap, how close was it to being a good day for the offense? How would you answer that question? Based on everything we saw on Sunday How close was it to being a good day for the offense? So having watched the all 22 and again No excuses here, Caleb was not good Shane Waldron as Waddle has educated us Shane Waldron wasn't the guy that missed Keenan Allen down the left sideline Shane Waldron wasn't the guy that missed DeAndre Carter on a seam He isn't the one that took a 19-yard sack when he should have gone down earlier in the possession He wasn't the one that the interior of the offensive line was getting caved in by Tevandre, Sweat, and Jeffrey Simmons That all said If you hit that pass to Keenan Allen, or he catches the touchdown in the end zone It looks a whole lot better, so I will say they are closer than we realized but they were not good Let me be clear, Tommy, Tommy at home, they were not good No, all of those things are salient points because we saw it in real time on Sunday Correct It was a guy a quarterback that was missing some opportunities to get yardage I liked how the Bears tried to run the football, even though the Titans ran it better And I would just say that this is going to be something that will be straightened out What we saw on Sunday against the Titans is not who Caleb Williams will be through the next 17 weeks Agree? He has to learn What happened on Sunday, quite frankly, was not a surprise to me only because of what we've been saying all along In that, yes, you want change because some of you were tired of Justin Fields Some of you still support Justin, and that's fine too But you have to understand, are you a Justin Fields fan or are you a Bears fan? And if you're a long time Bears fan, then players come and go And so now it's Caleb Williams time and it's not going to be just a guy that just comes in And just throws for 400 yards and five touchdowns Correct It's just because, again, it's the weapons, how you realize those weapons, how they often support you or put those weapons in place And it's about execution, all of that So anytime that you see success or failure, make sure you give the full credit or the full blame to everybody And so when it comes to this question about how close it was It wasn't close to me It wasn't close only because of the misfires from Caleb It wasn't close, like, how close was there being a good day for the offense? Well, you didn't score Correct And so I'm telling you, they were not good, but I don't think they were as far away as others still Yeah, I totally agree with the way things go in the course of a game You know, there's always going to be a couple plays where, hey, you wish if you had them back or one way or the other But the term or the fact that we were able to go out there and finish through the course, like, I look at the four-minute drive of flipping the field How about DeAndre Swift's run right there on the wide zone to the left and then the extra effort right there But I think there's a lot of moments within the game that give you hope that you know you're heading in the right direction And to the point of cleaning up the details And then also when you clean up the details and you get to that belief in the basics and fall back on fundamentals Doesn't mean you have to go out the next week and make something up or go outside the framework We have such good skill and I think, like, if you talk about it, like, a guy like DJ Moore, if he just is himself, right? Every single week is pretty darn good, right? And so the plays will happen because of the people and because of the diligent work these guys have put in Shane Waldron Yeah, and I think he's saying you always want to get a couple of plays back I mentioned those plays already, you get those plays back and the game looks totally different The bottom line is you did not score an offensive touchdown and what you did was so rare Three and 306 now since 2000 when a team of 17 or more points down at a point in the game And never score an offensive touchdown yet win the football game And two of those three are bears The other one was the Arizona Cardinal game into '06 So again, a lot to clean up, not as far as you think it is Shane, could you look up what's been going on with the bears in Texans as far as what the public thinks of this game? We know what the line is, but could you tell us the ebb and flow of the cash and how it went in any favor of the bears this week? Hold please, I can bring that up Yeah, just wondering how that goes because my official thought is 20 to 13 Texans for this one Bears are getting 81% of the bets, the money differential heavily in favor of the Titans Or the Texans rather, money makes up 91% on the Texans Strong favorite home, strong Now, where do you find all that? These guys own system, I've got a little app, he's his guy's system Granted, when the differential is that big, I don't know how useful it is, A, because I don't know how accurate that information is And B, if 91% of the money is on the Texans, then the sports book is rooting for the bears And I tend to be on that side of things I just think it's a competitive football game, I do, there's too much down here Now, is Keenan Allen going to go? We'll find out, I don't think Rome's going to go But maybe Tyler Scott puts a big game up Maybe your guy, Vaylas, has a monster game, I don't know I think that's a lot of DeAndre Carter Probably, but here's the thing, another reason why I'm not sure about this game Is because, and by the way, is Keenan Allen make a break for this offense in this first road game? He would be a big help because of his veteran presence, that's for sure But, I mean, it's DJ Moore, it's funny that what Courtney said to us moments ago in our last half hour cap She said she looks at the depth chart and it reminded her of last year Did you catch that? I did, I heard her say that and I disagree A little strong, a little strong, a little over the top It's not DJ by himself for God's sake That's correct That was last year That was his first year So Noah Dune say, and again, a rookie, we expect him to have big numbers But without him, Keenan Allen, we expect him to play, even though he might not be 100% There's Tyler Scott and DeAndre Carter Now, it's not the three dynamic wide receivers that are healthy that we saw on Sunday But it doesn't seem like, it's not DJ Moore, a home alone Like the only weapon out there Keenan Allen is a guy man And let's take advantage of our tight end And tight ends Don't come at Gerald Lever, or Sadie's Lewis, run a football, let's go It's a little strong to say that it's DJ Moore and a house by himself Agreed But again, it's got to start with Caleb Yeah He's got to be better, and the offensive line's got a block and you got to run a football man Alright, 3-1-2-3-3-2-E-S-P-N-3-2 Hey, Tommy, could play 3-7-7-6 is our telephone number Yeah, what a lot there, we need a receiver It won't drop anything I wish Might need a sundial to time him, but he can make plays In the passing game Anthony and Schonberg on Cap and J-hood, Anthony, good morning Good morning, guys What's up, Anthony, how you doing, man? I got to go after your buddy, Shay, Kathy He said the giants were going to be in the playoffs And I kind of thought they'd win last week against the Vikings So I took them in 3 out of my 5-survivor pool And I got a hard loss Wow Yeah, Shay's the guy that picked them to win the NFC East They may be eliminated faster than any other division in football Damn That was a horrible pick question I thought I could bet against Sam Darnold, but they lost, man, what the heck, Shay? Listen, Anthony, if you've listened to the show, it sounds like you did I also said take Seattle and survivor pools, I never said take the giants This is an E1, man, you took an underdog and a survivor pool, that's a total mistake Alright, guys, you have a good day See you, buddy How about they kick him out of me? I said I wanted to go outside the box in the East because I hate the Cowboys and I hate the Eagles So I took the Giants, what are you going to do? Well, now you know what a lot of ball players go through, and they're DMs Hey, you're a memo request, man, didn't I? I'm just saying, this is what they go through Where they're just playing the game as hard as they can And you get fancy football knuckleheads And people who gamble that blame the player for them losing money Well, it's a calculated risk That's your choice, you didn't have to bet on me on fancy football You didn't have to bet on me when it comes to gambling, but you did And so now you blame me for your losses Correct So in my fall, what was the school where the quarterbacks get in the Venmo request again? Auburn? In Auburn? Yeah Because I've had basketball guys go Yeah, they're mad at me, this was NBA play I didn't get enough rebounds They're yelling at them on the court I need two rebounds I'm coming out of the game, sorry dude There's your slippery slope right there That's your 60 minutes piece right there about gambling in sports and fans Correct That's it right there That's your little 10 minute chunk after the NFL I've never done it, can you play a same game out of college game? I actually don't know, I know they restricted player props a lot after the Iowa debacle Or Iowa State, whichever team was betting on themselves Because I could see some poor kid He's a running back and he fumbles or whatever, he doesn't get quite yet enough yards He's walking a class and some idiot comes up and attacks him You cost me thousands This is what happens What was the 3430? Was that regarding Boston College? Yes The basketball? Yes Yes, that was with the late, he's there I think Henry Hill from Goodfellas? I believe so Yeah Henry Hill got a bunch of those players Jim Sweeney, it was Boston College Jim Sweeney and Rick Kuhn Yeah, all those guys And Jim Sweeney swears he was not involved Rick Kuhn went to jail Yeah, it was a mess It's one of my favorite 3430s It's awesome Because it does a really, really deep dive of how the underbelly of gambling And those that are in the syndicate Want you to be able to throw games for their money Right, not lose the game Throw 'em Just don't cover the spread Right It's called point shaving It is If you have never seen that, it's in the archives, you go to the What is it called? Playing for the mob Is that what it is, third? Playing for the mob It's something It's unbelievable But that kind of thing And this is Again, the slippery slope with gambling and sports That a lot of teams, a lot of sports Were fearful of For years and years and years Cap and I had never thought we'd see Pro Sports in Las Vegas We knew what's out there The mob and everybody else said You'd be throwing games if it's UNLV was one thing But to think that there's going to be professional sports like hockey Eventually, that's going to be basketball Eventually, it'll be there We have what? Football and hockey, right? It's going to be baseball soon Just talk to my cousin Dion's dad Who lives in Las Vegas And I say, "Hey, what's on the other day?" I say, "What's the latest out there?" It goes, "Yep, very likely. They're getting it ready now." They got the site surveyed And they were going to put it They're going to try to find some water That's the other thing A water source From somewhere So they can get this thing done But it's going to happen My wildest dreams I never thought we'd see Pro Sports in Vegas But here we are It's unbelievable You know So we're talking to you about it 3-1-2-3-2-3-7-7-6 Our telephone numbers talk to you About the Bears and our matchup against the Texans Don't forget We've got the Friday folder The things we didn't get to We'll get to that at 9-35 It's full A lot of stuff we didn't get to And a check-in with the weekend weather At 9-50 with Tracy Butler Cap and Jay Hood On ESPN1000 It's for Friday Time to get it in for the weekends Now back to Cap and Jay Hood ESPN Chicago Cap and Jay Hood On ESPN1000 And streaming on the ESPN Chicago app Don't forget We're with you It's 10 o'clock Then my Greenberg comes on a 10 Followed by Carmine Urco They're on their Buffalo Wild Wings tour This time they're going to be an Algonquin So if you're in the area Stop on by to see the guys Between 12 and 3 Carmine Urco at Buffalo Wild Wings In Algonquin Followed by Waddle and Sylvie Two-thirty-six White Sox against the A's At 6 o'clock Don't forget Blecken Abdullah On their YouTube channel YouTube.com Look for Blecken Abdullah And also on the podcast As we keep you company here On this football Friday This Bears Friday 3-1-2-3-2-3-7-7-6 Along with our Bears conversation Cap, we've talked about The really the lead story From last night's game With two at Taco Viola Suffering his third concussion And his NFL career As we well know that There's been so many That have passed away Because of CTE And because of wear and tear Being a football player But this situation Is very difficult Because here's a young man In this prime And if you missed it yesterday Don't have Amazon prime We watched it yesterday And this is one of those things Where two is trying to make A football play You know just the instinct of I got to get through Demar Hamlin to try to get This first down And he ends up being in that Fencing kind of look When you have a brain injury Or a concussion Going to like a spasm It was sick That kind of thing And so It's not for me to say What he should do with his Career cap We can only lay out options And I'm sure it's the same Option as his family is Thinking about And that is Two of you still I know you love football You get generational wealth You're taken care of You still want to play football After three concussions Before you're 30 And I know he had at least one Because I've been looking it up At least one diagnosed at Alabama So that's four Four So who knows how many more That go undiagnosed Yeah, again He's an adult And as you like to say An adult with a mortgage He can make his own decisions But if I was someone in his life That he cared about I care about him I would tell him you're done You got to stop You can't do this You're going to wake up at age 55 and go Where am I? What day is it? You want to have your children Or your grandchildren Dude We get one bite at the apple man One bite You've got to do your best To live a good clean life You know cap People will say that People will say that our society is soft Or softer than what it once was They will say that Because the way we came up You as a baby were me as a Gen Xer They will say that Well the way that we grew up Was the right way to grow up And if you play football You play football like a man And if you got ding You got ding Put himself Put him in a dark closet He'll come out the next week And he'll be fine Cap It's just talking about your life now Okay This is about your life It's not about being tough I know that it's a rough sport It's not about being tough It's about trying to figure out Should I continue to play football Or should I retire like Kyle Fitz did At 27 when he retired at 2022 The old linebacker from the Arizona Cardinals Or Chris Borland at age 24 He retired after one season From the 49ers Too many concussions that's enough Enough had trauma Because I want to be able to live a life after this Correct So when I talk about the softness of Today's society It's not about being soft It's not about that too It's not tough Oh he's tough To the point where he's gotten himself in concussion Pro protocol Yeah he's tough enough But again It's the other side of the toughness Do you want to continue to play football Knowing that you've had three known concussions As you mentioned plus one with Alabama Could have been even more than at it With the Crimson Town Who knows Do you still want to continue to play I don't know Even though you have generational wealth I had a player I worked with It was not a ESPN 1000 It was A M 1000 Back in the day in the early 90s It was a Player He came in to do a show Did not know how to get back to his hotel He was in town He asked me if I could get him back there We were trying to do an interview with him And I asked him a question And then there would be this blank stare at me Would you ask me? Yeah Have to repeat everything Couldn't find his way back When he was in his rental car Dude, it was And he ended up having a retire because of concussions It was scary to see it And that's 30 years ago And we didn't really know What was going on Mike McDaniel speaking right now too Said he doesn't think it's appropriate To put a timetable on Toa He will be assessed daily They're going to go forward with Skylar Thompson And will likely add a quarterback And rightfully so So that'll be so Ryan Tanhill likely you would think who else is out there? Tom Brady's gonna come on down from the Fox booth and a quarterback to dolphins finally. Do you think he'll do it? I don't think he would I can he he's got a partial ownership stake that he's trying to get passed through for the Raiders He's got the money from Fox God I think all this will be a win-win for Greg Olson get him back in the number one booth as quickly as possible 3 1 2 3 3 2 ESPN 3 3 2 3 7 7 6 Great. Yeah, I'm gonna save it for the Friday folder hoodie, but we've been trying all week to talk about this. We'll get to it I don't think I don't think Brady doesn't I think he'd says no I agree He'll I think he likes doing the TV thing. He's gonna work it because even if he took it So where is he in four months? Even if he won the Superball. He's not gonna keep playing for five more years Now sometimes you have to at some point you got to cut the court emotionally Yeah, and that's it for him. That's all but that'll be all it's not he's not sugared Leonard Lot five times back and forth NBC booth back into the ring NBC booth back. That's enough. That's enough. That'll be all Thank you sugared. Yeah, 3 1 2 3 3 2 ESPN is our phone number of alparezo indiana. Here's Mike on cap and jhood. Hey, Mike. Good morning Hey, I know I don't know you guys like that, but do I permission to call you guys by the literal name of your show? Yes, oh great great great, you know cuz we're all confused about what to call you guys Say yeah over here. We have no problem with that Mike, but in some places. It's taboo you call us whatever you want, man I don't know, you know, I just read and then I just say whatever's the words aren't so But cap I agree with you about to because that's similar to fighters And when a boxer MMA fighter gets knocked out consecutive times It's just easier and easier for those guys to get knocked out And you know the the last thing that guy wants is you know to end up with motor function problems when he's 50 years old Yeah, I agree your health is obviously everything. I mean, it's just it's just gonna keep happening more and more You get one bite at the apple. It's not as though you get to age 50 like I shouldn't have done that What pill could I take that doesn't exist that we know of? Yeah, bad bad bad bad. It's sad Mike, we'll preach you the phone call. It's Jamari and Bartlett on a cap and Jay that hey Jamari What's up Jamari good, man? How are you? I'm all right. Um, I know we don't listen to sports radio. I normally catch you guys on YouTube Hood's voice is very soothing easy to fall asleep to but I'm I just had a question with It hood is wildly entertaining. Why does he put you to sleep? It's just his voice is just something soothing, you know something, you know Just lay back and just pop on and then you know before you know what? I'm asleep not that you guys there You know born people are your takes are born especially last night with a tune in with the Shannon sharp You know fiasco and you guys are very entertaining with that love your opinions on that But I just wanted to have a quick question on with Kenan already going through the injury bug early in the season What would he have to show you guys? Personally just a war and extension, you know, that's you from here. I don't think they're going to extend him I don't now if he plays, you know 16 of 17 games and has a monster year could that happen? Yes I'll be surprised cuz he's gonna look for a big payday and rightly so I'll be surprised if they extend him unless he's willing to do a short team friendly deal Yeah, he already sure he stated that he did a long, you know, 35 a year, you know, it's like that But I don't know if he's more to you know Older vet deal, you know Yeah, I'll we'll see what he's looking for if he's looking for like a four-year deal I don't think Ryan polls does it I don't because he knows what's around the corner hoodie He's gonna have to pay his quarterback. He's got to pay brisker and Gordon and all these dudes TJ Edwards next year Is in his last year of his deal? Indeed, so hey Jamari if they made an alarm clock that had the soothing tones of Jonathan hood Talking you to sleep close your eyes and in his great velvet voice. Would you buy it? I'd be I'd be I'd probably I'd waste a lot of my money on that. Yeah, yeah, I would too. Yeah, totally understand Hopefully as you listen to the show that you're driving Preach your telephone call. Yes Shannon Sharp Wonderful, I love this speaking stuff like this go in and just let yourself go Come on. Yeah, I'm gonna let myself go drop killing something too You just ain't this ain't like me and I'll use go this quick I'm going What happened there he goes Shant the sharp Oh, man John with a spoon soap doctor. Yes. Yes, John with the spoon was the first day in sharp From soul plane. All right coming up. We got a big folder friday folder Don't forget also tracey butler with the latest on the weather for the weekend right here on cap and jhood You're listening to cap and jhood Follow the show on instagram at the cap man and at igjhood. This is esp head chicago Chicago's home for sports. It's Bob. So All right. Hey, here we go with the friday folder. What do we miss? Now let's start with tom brady in the booth last weekend his first time on the fox broadcast scott hanson Was one of many critics if you took to social media people did not think brady did a great job scott hanson said on the red zone broadcast Tom brady has to get more excited in the booth scott hanson then the next following day took to social media to issue an apology saying his criticism of brady was unfair brady has since responded saying all good Do you want to say life's too short to have fun? I didn't think the criticism was unfair I also didn't think brady was any good at all in the fox booth hoodie. Where were you at? No, he wasn't very good. I just think that again is his first time He says it's worth worried about cadence getting in and out in about 15 seconds or so Great as a football player, but just has to be able to get the rhythm down get a new partner first time in the booth So i'm sure there were some nerves there, but he'll find a way to get better I mean if he's as Good as he is as a football player he'll work yet trying to be as good a broadcaster as he can be Yeah, I enjoyed it. Will he be better? Yes, he absolutely will because steve hanson doesn't like you know tom brady who? What's the guy's name scott hanson scott hanson just a chris hanson. Yeah, I did not Have a seat. Yeah, jim hanson. Have a seat. So what are you doing here today? I'll just uh she called me and you know she's 13 Going what are you saying? Uh just because He thought he first of all He's in the middle of doing his job. How the hell does he know? Everything brady did and that's not a forum where he should be giving that opinion. He deserved to apologize He's very good at his job. He was dead wrong on what he did Okay, and can I like this speaks to the whole issue of the Broadcaster vote like the former player that now apparently because you're a big name you go directly to the top both the a broadcast It shouldn't happen that way. Troy aceman called games in your look to learn how to do the job And then made his way to the a booth He's excellent brady should have to do the same thing. I get his tom brady and there's a name value When he's on the cap all he's doing is offering cliches how many times in one game can you say? It's week one They're trying to figure out their team. I mean, that's what early football is They learn about each other and they learn about their team. That was the entire second half That was it. Yeah. He just he has to get better with that. That's all I mean that's and that just wasn't that wasn't great But again, you can't be in that booth sound like a guest for three hours You're the analyst. Tom take that booth over. Yeah, and he'll be uncomfortable But no he doesn't have to go do NFL Europe. He's tom f and brady. I don't care man. You're not a broadcaster You got to learn the broadcast the Troy aceman had to go to Europe. He was Troy f and aceman like what? whatever Should be work with sam rosen Tom, what are you? What are your thoughts? Something like that in the eighth booth Right on the field here's luke and allen Go ahead. Hey, what else did we miss uh to marza rosen did some media appearances talked about his relationship with billy donovan I love billy d man billy d is one Pack of a person and coach, you know, um my time there the way he abraced me the way he Allowed me to step in and be the be the leader that I was Hear great man great coach great guy. I feel I feel like he don't get The the props the he fully deserved Underrated, huh? He's definitely underrated, you know for sure and I wish him nothing but the best, you know He allowed me to be myself. Um coming coming to chicago. You know, um, he made it Made it easy for all of us. You know, I got mad but love and respect billy There are two rules to remember if you want to have a good time rule number one never run out of colt 45 rule number two Never forget rule number one. I love billy d man So here this is good to know that tomorrow's in loves billy d and colt 45 good to know love that So this is good to know i'm a billy d guys. Well, I like him a lot. He's just been giving it Paying him. Well, this haven't given him a very good roster to try and win any particular roles when billy d did you like back in the day What do you mean? You say you love billy d because he's had as built. I mean had a bad hand Yeah, he hasn't had a chance to win here. No chance I mean first of all if they'd have drafted tyreese halliburton instead of patrick williams You wouldn't have had to spend 80 million on a guy who's played like 25 games Uh lonzo ball. He was talking about billy d williams. Yeah, he was great as lando calrissian in the starless movies Brian's song. He was magnific. I love brian piccolo. I love brian piccolo I'm a long time lady sings the blues guy myself shay. That can tell me to He's still alive Billy d williams. Yes. Yes. He'll never die. You understand that cool never dies cap That's why i'm sitting here for now 87. Yeah, wow All right, shay, what else did we miss besides billy d williams and cold 45 speaking Billie d williams and lando in the star wars movies We lost darth vader this week james erl jones passed away at the age of 93 the one constant through all the years ray Has been baseball America has ruled by like an army of steven rulers It's been erased like a blackboard rebuilt and erased again But baseball has marked the time This field This game Is a part of our past ray It reminds us of all that once was good And it could be again Oh People will come ray People will most definitely come When the great actors of our time cap james erl jones before morgan freeman took all the voiceovers The voice of god was james erl jones What did he mean? What did you say he was you're right hoodie? What did you say he was darth vader? He was He was the voice of darth vader. It's hoodie. I mean that's his most famous role. No, that's right Feel the dreams is is are you insane? It depends on what you look at. I mean people think i am and i'm okay with that Yeah, his famous role is coming to america, but that's just me That's correct. So hold on twitch said moustafa moustafa. Yes You know what you're all right You know, I mean it there is no definitive answer to the question They're you're both right. I loved his in the movie claudine. Do you ever see that j more claudine not even see that one that's a movie from 1974 in which he was with diane carol diane carol is a single mom She's got four kids and here comes james erl jones in the picture And he got a hide from the you know from the foster You know the foster People come over to make sure that the house is clean and all that kind of stuff It's quite the picture back then but he but you're both right Whether it's field of dreams whether it is star war whatever he was great in everything I just asked google what was james erl jones most famous role as boxer jack jefferson his breakthrough role Based on real-life fighter jack johnson and the Pulitzer prize wouldn't play the same name And star wars is cheating. It's a full voice role. He's not actually wearing the suit It's he just gave the voice to darth vader, but I never even knew he was in it That's probably his most recognizable role. If you've asked most people no way no way star wars No, it is field of dreams put it on the pole at a yes pin 1000 What is his most famous role james role jones is it? field of dreams Or star wars correct see how it comes back How much do you think they paid him to do the voiceover in star wars by not much seven gram? Yeah he actually licensed his voice to uh disney So they can do ai for future films. That's so unbelievable. That's not great That's for his that's great for his family. Isn't j more that what you just told us. Yeah for his For his future. That's a legacy voice of cnn for many decades Just uh just incredible what a legacy he leaves And he was in the second coming to america too. He was in the bed as I recall, but he was in that too the second coming to america All right, what else did we miss uh there was a weird kind of contest that perdue ran where a fan had an opportunity to try to win a lease on a vehicle by kicking field goals And the fan made the final field goal attempt from how far i believe 40 yards on video review They uh noticed that his foot made contact with the football About five hundredths of a second after the time expired so they revoked the lease That's so bad man. That's so horrible. Yeah, that is because if you remember Shay was not around yet The guy don cal who was at the bulls game He got chosen For the shot from the opposite free throw line. So 94 feet to court So it's 79 79 feet and don calhoun for a million dollars from 79 feet Nailed it and the stadium went insane remember yeah, jordan all those guys are hugging him And they said hold on a second now you played eight games of jr. College basketball that invalidates the contract You don't get the money and the great rich melman of lettuce entertain you restaurants And the ceo i believe of jewel The two of them said we're the sponsors this thing. We are not going to let that happen and they paid So that's where credit to perdue Because once the dealership group said we aren't going to award you the prize the kick was late Other dealerships in the area reached out said we'll give it to you Congratulations. So perdue is working with the original dealership to make sure this guy gets his prize How ridiculous to say five hundredths of a second your foot was late and connecting with the ball Ah, just ima that's a joke trying to cheat him out of my car dealer sounds like an idiot. What kind of car was it? Honda Good don't buy a honda for that. Oh my gosh from that guy. I said I didn't say the whole honda dealer Bob rorman honda and la faya Two-year lease or five thousand and okay rorman. Oh, Bob rorman is dead. He's rolling over in his grave right now I watched the world series of bob rorman They did cross him off then. I don't think it's the same guy Is it really bob rorman? I said the skybox with him and his like 36-year-old wife Bob rorman had a smoking hot wife Oh my god Good for him, man Tracey what he went on a champion Tracy Butler with the latest on the weather for the weekend on cap and jhood Follow Chicago's home for sports on twitch at espn 1000 Chicago Captain jhood are back on Chicago's home for sports espn Chicago now time for the cap and jhood classic cut of the day brought to you by Chicago cut steakhouse.
