Mike Moore Media. Now let's check in with Quentin Robertson director of Readsville Parks and Recreation. He's on the line. Quentin hey how you doing? Hey good morning Mike how are you? Good. Well let's find out what's going on with Readsville Parks and Rec. I'm on your Facebook page right now kind of checking out some things. So what's happening? Oh just a lot of good events and programs that we got starting up all the way from our team center to our Arts Center with programs for the youth activities in the evening time. Social events for our senior center. They've taken a lot of trips so right now both of those sectors are just being busy with key kids getting back into school. We have our afternoon programs and and homework assistance and mentor shield programs that we're going and then right now the young ladies over at the senior center right now probably gearing up for Halloween and some of the holiday festivities that they're getting off with. So we're moving along pretty good. Everything seems to be very stable and people are still enjoying our facilities. Right now we're getting ready to move into our football cheerleading volleyball season as well. So our registration is open right now and you can actually go to our website at http/activnet.activ.com/readvillerec if you get a chance to sign up and we have youth sporting activities for ages 4 to 17 and then we also have activities for adults 18 and older. Yeah Wow there's a lot going on. Yeah and football season and cheerleading and all that always fun. Of course we do have a few special events that this month on this past month on September the 7th we had our adult reset that our splash pad we have a decent time off whatever we encourage all the adults that you know if they have time to participate and step outside the box and enjoy some downtown to participate in some of our right programs on actual September the 26th at Lake Reesville where we have any movie night on the lawn so we encourage all families to come out participating in it. I think the move will be showing that night is inside out too. It's a family friendly event come out bring you blankets bring you lawn chairs and enjoy the night out that we have. Oh yeah that'll be fun. Have you done movies at the late before? Yeah yes so we usually do a few throughout the year this year we're doing one this month and then next month doing Halloween we'll have a Halloween kind of scary movie along with the haunted trail and then that's towards the end of October doing Halloween so we expect a large turn out for that but movie nights are very good. It's a great way to kind of get all the people out in the community you know bring your snacks bring your lawn chairs your chairs and you know get comfortable and you'll enjoy a quiet night out with your family. Mm-hmm yeah yeah it's exactly right. Tennis just seems to be doing doing great all over the county and you've had a lot of tennis activities going on there too this summer. What's going on right now anything we need to mention? Yeah yes yes but Mike we have a lot of great tennis enthusiasts within our county and employees in Reesville we want to make sure we're putting our best foot forward and making sure we are accommodating all the citizens that are involved in like to participate in training sporting activities so right now we're finishing our work in progress of a project where we're redoing for new tennis courts at our JC Park here so we can kind of get that up to up to date up the code get rid of some of those cracks and have a fresh new finish there for our high school and our community members to kind of play on and hopefully moving forward. Once we get everything kind of completely built we want to kind of build up on our Rocky Mountain County tournament for tennis tournament and tourism for them you know bring other other teams other other other tribal units into into the city or JC Park and allow them to kind of play and compete at a nice facility with that being tennis being involved. Sure yeah okay so that's moving along yeah lots of things happening at JC Park aren't they this has been a busy busy year for improvements and things like that yeah yeah we just want to keep improving keep improving our facilities keeping improving our amenities the citizens of Reesville definitely need those things and definitely do enjoy them so you know as long as they are a vibrant and want to stay active and knowledge about the activities that they're there wanted to participate in we want to make sure that we do the best job of accommodating those facilities and making sure that we have those things in place for them to participate. Yeah of course yeah okay anything else we need to mention. Right now we just we just encourage you know everyone to stay active and stay involved again if you're interested in being involved and want to be a coach or you're looking for a fitness center to work out with or you're looking for something for your child to be involved in or you're looking for something for yourself to get involved in please contact our parks and the recreation department we have a several several programs that fit a lot of people's interests and so we want to continue to have a great place for people to learn and play and stay active and stay healthy as well so we encourage everyone if you're interested in doing anything you're going to volunteer or just maybe some arts and crafts but you just want to be involved in some programs of being involved in the city please contact our office and we could definitely put you in contact with the right people and we could also use your help to do a lot of different things around the city especially especially a man for different programs that we have planned.
