A Rockingham County man has been arrested following a homicide on Green Street in Greensboro last weekend. Davian W. Larry, 20 of Readsville, is charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Joseph Minor, 20. From Eden Police, Arrests and Citations, Keenan Anthony Simpson, Maidan, Possession of Hydrocodone, Possession of Marijuana and Paraffinadia, Ashley Clark, Martinsville, DWI, Joanne Denaz Perkins, Axton, Felony Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana, Carneadius-Joanne Lipscomb, Danville, Shoplifting, Possession of Schedule 2, Drugs and Paraffinadia. Rockingham County Department of Health and Human Services, in partnership with eight local health agencies and Crescendo Consulting Group, have completed a behavioral health assessment, identifying these priority areas for improving mental health and well-being. Advocacy and policy change, awareness and stigma reduction, workforce storage retention and recruitment, continuum of care and service gaps for young adults and older adults, services for people in the criminal justice system, prevention, early intervention and harm reduction, social determinants of health. Next, Readsville Area Foundation will assemble monthly work groups that review and prioritize recommendations to create a county-wide behavioral health strategic plan. A full presentation will be made to the county commissioners next March. More information is available at RockinghamCountyNC.gov. Finishing today on a personal note, funeral services for Annette's mother are tomorrow. I'd like to read you just some of the obituary that's been published. Pauline Polly Allen Richardson, 96 of May it in, died Monday. She was born in Rockingham County to William Oscar and Ida Terrell Allen. Grew up on a farm and spent many years working in the textile industry. She graduated from Stonewall High School and was salutorian of her senior class. Polly lived a life rich with love, faith, and creativity. She was a gifted seamstress and cook and avid reader and had a special love of working with her flowers. She loved to cross stitch and crochet and work the daily newspaper puzzles. She believed in helping others and donated to many charitable causes. Camp Carefree was one of her favorites. She was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church from an early age until the late 1960s and became a charter member of Woodbine Baptist Church in 1970, where she faithfully attended as long as her health permitted. She was involved in many activities and cherished the friendships and fellowship she found within her church family. In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Guy Hampton Richardson and sisters Elizabeth Ann Allen, Virginia Allen, Easter, and Margaret Allen Dalton. Additional survivors, grandchildren Scott Moore of Eden and Lori Brown and husband Brooks of Bishopville, Maryland, great-granddaughters Ella, Addison, Leah, and Hannah Brown, great-great-granddaughter Joanna Cordray. Services are tomorrow at Ray Funeral Home in Madison. A start at noon with Pastor Jeremy Parker of New Vision Fellowship and music by Tim Green of Greens and Trade Duncan. Visitation is at 11. Burial in Deep Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to encora compassionate care.
