The Social Contract with Joe Walsh

Team Trump and Vance: There Is No Bottom

This election isn't about Donald Trump. It's about you. It's about us as a people. He believes he can say anything and do anything, no matter how cruel and bigoted, and millions of his supporters will support him no matter what. I hope he's wrong.

Hey I'm Ryan Reynolds, recently I asked Mint Mobile's legal team if big wireless companies are allowed to raise prices due to inflation, they said yes. And then when I asked if raising prices technically violates those owners to your contracts, they said, "What the f*ck are you talking about? You insane Hollywood f*ck!" So to recap, we're cutting the price of Mint Unlimited from $30 a month to just $15 a month. Give it a try at mintmobile.com/switch. America, we gotta get back to doing what's expected of us as free citizens in this democracy. That means being tolerant, being respectful, staying informed, and being engaged. I'm former Congressman Joe Walsh. Follow me here and join the millions of Americans who are renewing their social contract with each other. The social contract, it's on us. There is no bottom. I've known that plenty of people have probably known that. Plenty of people have probably sensed that. When it comes to Donald Trump and now Team Trump, when it comes to Trump and JD Vance, there is no bottom to how low they will sink. There is no bottom to their cruelty, their bigotry, their sexism, their ugliness. There's no bottom. And what's important to understand here this Thursday is that for Trump's base, the cruelty sells, the cruelty works, the bigotry, the racism, the xenophobia, the sexism, it works with a large percentage of Trump's base. I know that intimately because I come from that base. I know that intimately because I had a conservative talk radio show for many years. I was a right-wing media guy. I know that when I went there, when I got outrageous, when I got cruel, when I bordered on bigotry and racism, man, that kind of shit sold. And my audience went up and people called in. It works with Trump's base, the cruelty and the bigotry and the ugliness, just the meanness that spews out of Donald Trump's mouth and now JD Vance's mouth, understand it works with most of his hardcore supporters, but understand it doesn't work with most Americans. Understand it doesn't work with them. Understand it doesn't work with independence. Understand it doesn't work with republic moderate Republicans. By the way, these are voters that Donald Trump needs to win. Trump's supporters listening to me right now. Let me be really, let me be really clear so you understand me. When JD Vance says, as he said yesterday, to Kamala Harris, she can go to hell, those words came out of JD Vance's mouth at a rally yesterday telling Kamala Harris she can go to hell. When JD Vance says that, it's a turn off to the people that Donald Trump needs to win. It may rev you up Trump supporter. It may fire you up MAGA world. But if you want Donald Trump to win, having JD Vance out there telling Kamala Harris to go to hell, that's the kind of shit that will cause Trump to lose, deservedly so. JD Vance had a rally yesterday. I don't know where he was. It doesn't matter where he was going off on Kamala Harris. Keith, give it to me. We're going to talk about a story out of those 13 brave innocent Americans who lost their lives. It's that Kamala Harris is so asleep at the wheel that she won't even do an investigation into what happened. And she wants to yell at Donald Trump because he showed up. She can go to hell. Hey, I'm Ryan Reynolds. At Mint Mobile, we like to do the opposite of what Big Wireless does. They charge you a lot. We charge you a little. So naturally, when they announced they'd be raising their prices due to inflation, we decided to deflate our prices due to not hating you. That's right. We're cutting the price of Mint Unlimited from $30 a month to just $15 a month. Give it a try at mintmobile.com/switch. $45 up front for three months plus taxes and fees, promoting for new customers for limited time, unlimited more than 40 gigabytes per month, close, full turns at mintmobile.com. Need new glasses or want a fresh new style? Warby Parker has you covered. Glasses started just 95 bucks, including anti-reflective scratch resistant prescription lenses that block 100% of UV rays. Shipping is free both ways too. Go to warbyparker.com/covered to try five pairs of frames at home for free, warbyparker.com/covered. She can go to hell. She can go to hell. J.D. Vance uttering those words at a campaign rally yesterday. New saw the crowd response. Again, that's the base. They're already voting for Trump. They cheered. And did you notice when J.D. Vance said she can go, he went like this. She can, she can go to hell. It's there on a teleprompter. J.D. Vance is reading it. He even paused. Like, should I go there? Should I say this? He even hesitated. He even showed a little bit of humanity. J.D. Vance did. She can, she can go to hell. But then he blew right past that humanity. You're telling your opponent, your political opponent, that they can, that they should, that they ought to go to hell. I don't care if you disagree with Kamala Harris on an issue. I don't care if you believe Biden or Harris messed up this or messed up that. To stand in front of the world, right? To, to, to preach in front of your creator, right? J.D. Vance is a, a God-fearing man, that my political opponent Kamala Harris, damn it, she ought to go to hell. She can go to hell to, to wish that, upon anyone, much less, your, your democratic opponent. Like I can see and I've said it, Osama bin Laden, I hope Osama bin Laden is in hell. Hitler, I hope Hitler is in hell for all eternity, right? I think, can I get an amen? I think we all agree. There are certain people who have lived, who have done things that have caused all the rest of us to say, man, they ought to be in damnation in hell for the rest of all eternity. But the woman you're running against, that's such an ugly, horrible thing to say. She can go to hell. I don't, I don't think you can say something as despicable as that because, I mean, think about it at one level, none of us know what, what, what happens after this life, this existence, right? Heaven, hell, nothing, who knows, but, but, but again, JD Vance is a God-fearing man. I'm a God-fearing man. As a God-fearing man, and most of those people in his audience, right, good, decent Christian men and women, they believe there's a heaven and there's a hell for all of eternity. So when JD, so JD Vance is, is wishing his political opponent, eternal damnation in hell because of how she handled this or that or where she stands on an issue. That's just cruel. That's just despicable. That ain't Christian. All my Christian brothers and sisters, and I'm a God-fearing Christian. All my Christian men and women listening to me right now, that ain't a Christian thing to do. To wish your political opponent was on our way to hell, to wish your eternal damnation in hell, tell me how that is a Christian thing to say. Tell me, tell me, and I'm looking at a lot of my messages from plenty of my Trump supporters, and they won't answer that question. How is that a Christian thing to say? Like Kamala Harris messed up this. Kamala Harris, I think he was talking about the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden messed up the withdrawal from Afghanistan. I hope they are in hell forever. Wayne says you're working for Satan, and unless you change, you also can go to hell. Wayne, I'm glad you're listening to the show. Wayne, I'm going to pray for you because I don't think you really wish me eternal damnation in hell. How is that a Christian thing to say? You want to beat Kamala Harris? I get it. You want to beat her on the issues? Whatever. I get it. But to wish her eternal damnation in hell, there is no bottom. This happened yesterday. That is utterly despicable. And every single Christian listening to me right now, I know you won't acknowledge it publicly, but you know it. Dude, they picked hell all on their own, says Kim. People say go to hell quite often, says Ralph. Oh, they don't mean it literally. Oh, there we go. Okay, there's a defense. J.D. Vance didn't mean it literally. Literally. She can go to hell. I don't mean that literally. That's just a figure of speech. J.D. Vance didn't say that. He said she can go to hell. He didn't mean it literally. By the way, that's a defense, Ralph, that everybody always gives Trump supporters, give to Trump whenever he goes down into the mud, into the cruel, into the ugly, into the intolerant, into the mean, into the despicable, into the bigoted, into the racist mud, whenever Trump goes down there and says shit, that's mean and ugly. He didn't mean it literally, Joe. Oh, Joe, Trump didn't literally mean that. I was the poorest member of Congress. If I had a dollar for every time a Trump supporter said to me over the last seven, eight years, Joe, Trump didn't mean that literally. I'd be a wealthy guy. Speaking of Trump, again, this theme today, there is no bottom. There is no bottom to how low they will sink and you've got to decide. You all got to decide. Do you got a line? Do you care? Is anybody there? Does anybody care? Do you care? Ken Vance and Trump, can they say anything and it doesn't matter? Vicki, by the way, there's a rule on the Joe Walsh show. You can call me an asshole, Vicki. Thanks for listening, by the way, Vicki. But you have to explain to me why I'm an asshole. Vicki, that ain't a conversation starter. Type in another message, Vick. Tell me why I'm an asshole. Donald Trump yesterday shared a meme. He shared a meme directed toward Kamala Harris. Hillary Clinton was in the meme. But I'm about to show you a graphic, a picture that Donald Trump shared yesterday that went after Kamala Harris in really crude, ugly, misogynistic, and sexist terms. Keith, give me that meme, will you, ma'am? There it is. There it is. Donald Trump shared this. It's a picture of Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton and the graphic is funny how blow jobs impacted both of their careers differently. Funny how blow jobs impacted both their careers differently. A picture of Kamala, talking about Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton, Keith, you can get rid of that. Thank you, my friend. Pause. This is what we call in radio a pause for a fact. That's the presidential nominee for president accusing his opponent of actively giving blow jobs to advance her career. And by the way, Trump didn't just see that image on social media yesterday. He didn't just see it and looked at it and maybe chuckled to himself. Donald Trump went out of his way to see that post to like it and to share it. The Republican nominee for president took the time to like and share a post that accuses his democratic opponent of basically getting down on her knees to advance her career. The word blow jobs was in that post that Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president shared. The word blow jobs was in that post. Is there a line? Ruben, is there a line? Josh, is there a line? Does it matter? Is there a line to how ugly, to how cruel, to how misogynistic, to how sexist, to how gross, to how mean, to how bigoted and ugly he can get? Is there a line or it doesn't matter? Again, Tom, by the way, rule, you can't call me a brain dead asshole. You, well, you can, but you have to say Joe, you're a brain dead asshole because Tom, give me more than I'm just a brain dead asshole. Tell me why. You see, here's the deal, guys. This is on you. I guess, I guess this isn't about JD Vance and it's not about Donald Trump. What I'm talking about right now, it's about you. You have to decide that not only does character not matter, you have to decide that there is no line to how bad and ugly and cruel a person can get. They still have your support. This is about you. Like when Trump said all those years ago that I could shoot somebody right in the middle of New York City and my supporters, Ralph and Josh and all the rest of them, they're going to still support me. See, when Trump said that, he wasn't talking about himself. He was talking about you. When Donald Trump said I can shoot somebody in the middle of New York City in the middle of the day and you'd still support him, he was talking about you. He was taking a shot at you. Trump was saying that there was nothing he could do to lose your support. Nothing. That's about you. That's not about him. He's a bad guy. He's a horrible guy. He's who he is. Now, this is directed toward you. Donald Trump can accuse Kamala Harris of giving blow jobs to advance her career and you're just fine with that. You're fine with your candidate saying that. Trump knows you are. Trump knows I can do whatever and these idiots are still going to support you. His word, not mine. See, I think you're better. I think you're better. Trump thinks you are a piece of shit. There's no other way to say it. Donald Trump thinks you're an idiot. You're ignorant. You're a worthless piece of shit. I don't think I have another way to say it. He can say this today. He can say anything and you won't blink. He's got your support. That's what he thinks of you. He can lie to you. He can spew ugliness. He can spew cruelty. He can put stuff out there that you would not let your children look at. Doesn't matter, baby. They're with me. My supporters, I'm going to leave me. I can be a son of a bitch. I can be a bad horrible person. I can kill people. Remember, he said it. I can shoot somebody in the middle of New York City and you're still going to support me. Trump said that. Man, he doesn't think much of you at all. Well, I'm going to continue to put this kind of stuff in front of you because I want this election to be a gut check about you. This ain't about Trump. Going to preach. Going to preach now. This ain't about Trump. This election's about you. See, the truth is Joe Biden first and now Kamala Harris, they got nothing to prove. Well, actually, I'm rephrased this. I'm confused. Let me start over, my friend. Joe Biden had something to prove. Joe Biden had to prove he's not too old. Joe Biden couldn't prove that. He is too old. Kamala Harris has to prove that she's up to being president, that she can govern from the middle and be inclusive. That's what Kamala Harris has to prove. But I've been saying this for a long, long time. Donald Trump has nothing to prove. He's a horrible human being. We all acknowledge that. You all acknowledge that. Every Trump supporter I know acknowledges that Trump is a horrible human being. Trump has nothing to prove. You have to prove to yourself whether you want that horrible human being back in the White House. This election ain't about Trump. It's about you. You have to decide if a guy you would never ever do business with, you want in the White House. You have to decide if a guy who you'd never ever work for, you want back in the White House. You have to decide if there's a guy, that a guy who you never want your mother around, your wife around, or your daughter around, you have to decide if you want that guy back in the White House. You have to decide if you want a guy who you teach your children to be the opposite of. You have to decide if you want that guy back in the White House. This election, my dear Trump supporters, is about you. You want a guy who can tell Kamala Harris to go to hell? Do you want him to be vice president? Do you want a guy who publicly endorses a message that said Kamala Harris gave blow jobs to advance her career? Do you want a guy who publicly said that, shared that liked that message? You have to decide if you want that back in the White House. I'm sorry Keith, I was going to cover other stuff today. I'm just, this has just got me. Yes, we do, says Reuben. So true, I missed that one, Keith, my bad. Hope, so true. I can't imagine anyone hearing this and still saying I'm voting for Trump. I hope I'm with you, but I talk to Trump supporters every day. I'm, look, they, they don't care that he's an asshole. He's their asshole. I can only say to my Trump supporters listening to me right now, again, if you're trying to win, if you want Trump to win, this is the stuff that will make him lose because you may like this. Everybody over here, all my Trump supporters, you may like it. The rest of America doesn't. You tell me how, what Trump shared, that message about Kamala Harris, you tell me how that's going to attract suburban women, how that's going to attract any woman in this country, that kind of messaging, that kind of ugliness, that kind of misogyny. You tell me, how's that a winner? I'll tell you what, I don't know if Kamala Harris will do this. I hope Kamala Harris does this at their September 10th debate. I hope Kamala Harris holds that up or brings this up and says shame on you. You are an ugly, despicable, misogynistic, brute shame on you. But she probably won't, because she's better than that. Hey, Keith, I am going to, don't get me out yet, but I'm going to stop in a moment, don't yank me yet. I just want to, I want to end with, with, again, reiterating this thought. There is no bottom to what Donald Trump will do and say, and I'm no longer going to focus on what a bad guy Trump is, because we know that. I'm going to spend the next 70 days focusing on you, the voters. I'm going to go into every battleground state. I'm going to hit the road. I'm going to go to Pennsylvania and Michigan and Wisconsin and Nevada and Arizona and Georgia and North Carolina. And I'm going to talk to Trump supporters and I'm going to talk to Republicans and I'm going to talk to independents. And I'm going to ask them, do you have a line? Is there a line? Is there a bottom? Is there a point where even you say that Trump's too cruel, Trump's too bigoted, Trump's too crass, Trump's too stupid, Trump's too ignorant, Trump's too dishonest, Trump's too misogynistic, Trump's too sexist, Trump's too racist. This is about you. This election is about you. Last thought, Trump's supporter. I've been saying this for a long, long time. Donald Trump lies as he breathes. We've never, ever, ever, ever, ever had a politician who lies as much as Trump lies. And you all Trump supporters don't complain about it. And what I've always told my good friends, Trump supporters, that means you can never complain about another politician telling a lie because you were perfectly okay with Donald Trump lying to you all the time. So you can never complain about Joe Biden or Kamala Harris telling a lie because you're perfectly fine with Trump lying to you all the time. Understand that if you say there's no bottom with Trump, he'll have my support even if he shoots somebody in the middle of New York City, understand if you say that, you can never, ever, ever, ever complain about anything that any other candidate for president has ever done or said. This election's about you. It's not about Trump. It's about you. It's about us. Trump thinks you're a piece of shit. Everybody I'm looking at over here on the right who's firing me messages, Joe, you're an asshole, Joe, I stand with Trump. Listen to me. Trump thinks you're a piece of shit. He thinks he can do anything and say anything and you will never leave him. I don't think you're a piece of shit. I think you're better than that. I think you're more decent than that. I think you're more human than that. And I hope and pray you realize that over the course of these next 70 days, I hope and pray that you realize over the course of these next 70 days that you are better than what Trump thinks you are.
