Hi everyone, I am Jeff and welcome to History in Fact2As about today, presented by Cool Media. It's September the 16th. Come around and let me dip you slowly. I need more chips and promise that I'll never leave you lonely. My guacamole, yeah, all my guacamole. So good, spicy, all my tongue, I'm feeling holy. The bigger chips will come around and let me dip you slowly. I need more chips and promise that I'll never leave you lonely. My guacamole, yeah, yeah, yeah. Today is National Guacamole Day. Of course, it's made from avocado, so it's got to be healthy, right? Well, let's high in vitamins and it has that cholesterol-lowering fat, so yeah, it's pretty healthy. Recently came from Mexico, digitally explode in popularity in the United States until the 1990s. Now, there are a number of ways to make guacamole, and probably more ways to eat it, though. You can ask it as a dip, you can put it on sandwiches or put it on burgers or salads. Add it to pretty much every Mexican dish. Now, some, there are some places offering deals today, Chipotle, Amos's Southwest, Grille, Kadoba, that's just some of them. So enjoy some guacamole today. Alright, let's see what happened to entertainment on September the 16th and the year 1994. Number one album was the Lion King movie soundtrack, which is pretty much written and sung by Elton John. Boys to Man had the number one song. I'll make love to you. I submit to your demands, I will do anything. I need only as I'll make love to you, like you want me to, and I'll hold you tight. I'll do the night, I'll make love to you. Trisha year would add the number one country song with X's and O's, an American girl. She used to tie her hair up in ribbons and bows, sign her letters with X's and O's. Got a picture of her mama in heels and pearls, she's trying to make it in her daddy's work. She's an American girl, an American girl. The number one book was Dead of Honor by Tom Clancy. Top movie was Time Cop, a cop who regulates time travel. He goes against a crip politician who wants to change the past so he can control the future. Stars John Claude Vondam, Miasara and Ron Silver. Okay, what happened on September the 16th? Let's start out talking golf. It was 1869 over at Scotland. Is that the pressed-wicked golf course? Tom Morris, he teed off on the 8th hole. Tom, he gets credit. Yep, he has the first ever recorded hole-in-one in golf history. It was 166 yard haul. We don't know what the par was though. See, golf didn't start using the par system until 1911. 1920 in New York City at 1201 p.m. A horse and carriage exploded on Wall Street. It was right in front of the JP Morgan building. Now, the driver of the carriage left before the bomb went off. Yeah, the horse didn't. Police believe that the bomb was 100 pounds of dynamite. Now, it was right at the height of lunch hours, so 40 people were killed, hundreds were injured. Now, after over 100 years, they still have no idea who did it or why they did it. Now, if you've ever gone out to the Hollywood sign out in California, you know that you can't get near that sign. That's because it's today in 1932, a 24-year-old actor has Peg Entwistle. She committed suicide by jumping off the H. 1965, a young British singer named Davy Jones. They made him change his name. See, there's already a Davy Jones who was singing for the monkeys. So, it changed his name to David Bowie. He picked Bowie after American Jim Bowie. Now, the guy who the Bowie knife's named after, he digs those knives. 1999, the reality TV show Big Brother began over in the Netherlands. Yeah, the United States didn't create that one. Sure copied it though. Put it on the air the next year. 2018, a lady, Denise Mueller Cornick, she set the record for fastest. Anyone has rode a bike. Yeah, she did at the Bonneville Salt Flats out there in Utah, rode her back 183.9 miles an hour. Let's just check out who was born on September the 16th.
