And again, if you want to get a comment up or a question up, you got to hit us with a super chat and we will do our best to roll through them and answer all of your questions that come. And since this show is already usually pretty long, we only do super chat. So if you want to get your comment read and responded to, you got to throw us a super chat. And then we will, of course, make that happen. Our first one is a big one from our boy Trevor Rocket. Thank you so much from north of the border. Appreciate you very much, Trevor. You're always. Yeah, this is the unfortunate part. If you're watching on YouTube, the unfortunate part is the the chat or the the comment covers up the two bottom guys. So it could be fortunate depending on your opinion of my face, but hey, if you're answering the question, I'm putting you in my spot. So that's how that's going to go. But no, thank you very much. Try to really appreciate the super chat. Big road win against an old rival, love seeing all the lads get in on the O line, hoping Ashton and Billy are back sooner than later. No let down next Saturday at home, please, because it's the return of the Mac insert song now. Hmm. Couldn't agree with you more, Trevor. They did. They started as Ryan said earlier in the show, they got to stack these games, right, Ryan? Yeah, no, they do. And especially, I mean, the stigma of Notre Dame losing to Mac teams is out there now, obviously with the Northern Illinois game, right? So you got to come back and you have to show that you did learn a lesson and that you're willing to build upon it. And not only, not only just create that environment again, but like you need to create a foundation of what the expectation is from a preparation perspective, each and every week. So yeah, they need to come out and smash menu high. I'm going to say it right now. Like my new high was a good team. They're a good Mac team. I know they're Owen three. They're off to a tough start, but like, you know, how the early season out of conference stuff can happen, right? But either way, you're playing against a team that just won the Mac last year. So Notre Dame can't come out and win 28 to 10, 28 to 17, and just like an ugly festival. They didn't go out and smash the team ultimately, right? So yes, we will know a lot about this team next week because that will show that that preparation and that focus went from week this week to next week. And then after that, obviously the Louisville game, which is going to be a huge test for Notre Dame. Make this a consistent thing and then we can start maybe getting a little bit of expectation as they continue to stack games, hopefully, no doubt. Thank you so much Trevor, appreciate you very much, insert the current state of the Irish fan base mindset with how the starting quarterback ran today and how QB2 looked throwing the ball. I think it's more of a statement. I mean the mindset is quite simply is that some people in their minds think that Steve Angeli is the number one option and the best option for the team. There's others that believe that you should just go young. There's other people that believe that Riley Leonard should be the starting quarterback. I think that there are pluses and negatives to each side of this coin. Like there's no perfect answer. If you continue with Riley Leonard, you know you're going to get a dynamic athlete, a guy that can run the football at a high rate. You know that there are still inconsistencies in the passing game that either you work through or you choose not to. If it's Steve Angeli, he's probably going to be a little bit more of an accurate and consistent passer but he's not going to bring the dynamic with your running ability and the experience aspect. Those things are going to be missed. If it's one of the young quarterbacks, both of them are talented and you do a little bit of everything but also they don't have experience factor at all in them. So like are they going to be flustered in big games? Are they going to be prone to making mistakes? There's positives and negatives to each side. I am personally on, hey, let's see what we can continue to build here. And then we'll have to cross that bridge if we have to cross it at some point. But I think that today Trevor for me just signify that some people are going to hold on to Riley Leonard QB one. Those are going to say Steve Angeli's better passer he should be the starting quarterback. Neither person is necessarily wrong but other but people are going to have different perspectives on it obviously. Sure. Yeah, go ahead Trevor. I was just going to say both quarterbacks did what they were good at today. I think that's a fair evaluation. Look, I would understand if we were having this conversation if Notre Dame played Purdue a lot closer than what it was and Notre Dame needed to push the ball down the field with Leonard under center and couldn't, that wasn't the case today. If I'm just evaluating this from I guess what the super chat actually is of how the starting quarterback ran the ball today. Fantastic. He had 11 yards of carry. He rushed for three rushing touchdowns and over 100 yards and one half of football. Lord only knows what that statline would look like if he played all 60 minutes. And then how Steve Angeli looked throwing the ball today, he looked great. He was very accurate and he is labeled as an accurate passer. I mean coming in the game relatively cold had a long handoff essentially to Jaden Harrison. On a slot fade it looked great. You know, he even had on the touchdown to Kevin Bauman. He rolled off left, different arm angle of a throw, put it on the money. It was a good throw but I don't think that we can look at what Riley did today as well what if Notre Dame at some point needs to throw the ball at some time and Riley can't just in the same light of we can't look too much into. Well, Steve can't run the ball like Riley can. Both quarterbacks did what they were really good at today. And I think that's fitting. That's how I would evaluate it. Yeah, look, my assessment of Steve Angeli hasn't changed based on what I saw today. Like he threw a really, really good ball to Harrison. There's no doubt about it. It was a really, really good ball. You can't throw a ball better than that. I mean, it was a great ball. My, I don't even want to say my issue, but look, Steve Angeli is good at what he does. And Mike Dembrock did a really good job of when Steve Angeli was in the game, giving him one read options. And he was able to execute those one reads, okay, the, you know, obviously the throw to the tight end is wide open, right? Still found him, still hit him for a touchdown, obviously, right? His other touchdown to bowman was a, was one read. It was a rubber out, whichever receiver came open. That's the guy you throw it to later on when he had to kind of go through his progressions. He freezes up, gets sacked. I think he got sacked for three times in the middle amount of minimal amount of time that he was in the game. That's obviously not good, but when he doesn't have to think, when he just goes in there and throws to the, the first read and it's there, if he doesn't have a check down, he's hit. That's who Steve Angeli is. And that's okay as a backup quarterback and makes him very valuable to Notre Dame, especially when you have a coordinator that knows how to call plays to make him look good. No doubt about it. So look, Steve Angeli did what he does and he did it really, really well. Bottom line, right? And when Dembrock asked him to do a little bit more, he didn't do very well. That's Steve Angeli, that's who he is. We're all okay with that. We're all happy that he's on Notre Dame's team. We're happy. He's the gold helmet. We're happy that he's one snap away from coming into the game, potentially saving Notre Dame. He's, he's calm. He's cool. He's collected. He's confident. If not borderline cocky about what he's able to do, you know, with his talent level, that's great. That's what I want in a quarterback, right? And so I'm cool with who Steve Angeli is. It's not an argument about who should start, who shouldn't start. There's no argument there that they have it correct on the depth chart for now. That's okay. He played well when he came in the game and did what he does. So it's awesome. That's my thought process on the way, you know, both, both quarterbacks played. John, you got anything on this one? All right. Next, we've got Cara Lader. So I apologize if I butchered your screen name. Thank you so much for the super chat. It says at the beginning in parentheses, imagine this before the season by cell hold. Riley Leonard is going to have four rushing touchdowns by week three plus our first patch in touchdown. We'll come after that by Steve Angeli, crazy world L.O.L. love IB keep up the good work. To sell. Yeah. I mean, that's a huge sell. There's no way. That's a huge sell. Yeah. That's a huge sell. There's no way anybody would have ever per day. I texted someone as like, if you had Steve Angeli, throw in the first, you know, passing touchdown of the season on your bingo card, you are a winner because no one would have seen that coming, especially in second half a week three. So yeah, no doubt about that one. But thanks for the super chat. Appreciate you very much. We got one from Nova 2015. Thank you so much for the super chat. Good to see the offense get going in a big way. Just need to keep it up. I like that Freeman said he needs to ensure his team handles success well. Yes, that's the key right, Sean, is that now it's about what you do next. It's not about just this point. It's about what you do next. Also shout out. Nova is the name of my dog. And that's nice to you. Nice. Yeah. The thing about success and greatness that kind of ends up being a roadblock for people is that in order to be great, you have to do it over and over again. It would have to be successful. It requires you to do it over and over again. Right. And that is the challenge for Notre Dame. Can you consistently be great and successful even when you're not at your best? You like everybody, no matter what you do, you wake up, Vince, I'm sure it's days you don't want to go. I don't want to deal with these kids. Like you love them. Yeah. But it's like, you know, I really would not, I would much rather stay in the house and you have to deal with my own, but yo, you put on your clothes, put on your shoes and you go get the job done. I don't think you're a slacker at what you do. You, if you show up, you're going to put forth your best that you can give on that day. And I think all of us do that in the areas of life that we have to, you know, and that's what you expect. That's what we expect. But that's learning how to handle success. I don't know what button needs to be pushed, but at some point, we can talk about Marcus Freeman because ultimately he's going to get the blame. But these players have to take that responsibility. That locker room has to take that accountability and responsibility and say, look, I don't know who it is that's going to stand up and say, Hey, this is not it. In the middle of that game when things are going wrong, this is not it. Let's get our tails together. And I'm very interested in seeing if someone does step forward in a game in the future, when things might be a little murky somewhere in that game, who's going to step forward, whether it's on the sideline or on the field to say, look, strap on, follow me because we're not selling for this. So that's going to be the clear sign to see whether or not they actually saw this quandary of whether or not they could be a consistent successful team. Fair enough. All right, here we go, Eric Hollaben. Thank you so much for the super chat. Appreciate you very much. How can you keep Keidren Young on the bench? Dude is a Mack truck. You had two running backs that average over 10 yards of caring. You can keep on the bench. I was about to say, Eric, like obviously in jest, but because like, he drinks going to be a dog. Oh, no doubt about it. He's going to be a great player. But like, I mean, you had a guy that ran 10 carries for 109 yards and you had another guy that ran eight carries for 86 yards, right? So it's like, yeah, and then shout out. I don't think we mentioned this because we mentioned Ennius Williams, but like, Ennius Williams converted a big third down in the past, like they put him on the field in a big moment and he had a nine yard run on third down, right? So it's a crowded running back room, man. But like ultimately you had two guys that average over 10 yards of caring. That's why I think that's why he's just on the bench right now, you know? And the fact that, you know, that hamstring injury just held him back, that held him back and we honest, Ennius took full advantage. He took a full advantage of the injury to Keidren. So you know, this is, it's a great prop. This is like, dude, give me those problems in any position. Please give me those problems, right? No doubt about it. No doubt about it. It's just, it's, look, this is one of the most crowded running back rooms in the country. Period. And you can say whatever you want about how Notre Dame played last week or this week or whatever, it has been absolutely consistent across the board no matter who you are as a fan of Notre Dame. Nobody that's watched this team for three weeks knows two of the most dynamic players on offense are in the backfield. All right. And they're wearing number four, number 24. And if you're behind those two, better take some notes because you're probably not going to be a lead back this year. That's fine. That you're going to get your opportunities in the future. And look, this, this running back room is so deep and it is so talented. And it just kind of, I guess kind of sucks for Keidren Young, although he gets to kind of learn at the feet of some master work in the running back room, though, too. How to prepare, how to play, all that stuff, right? And running back to a position where guys jump so quickly to the NFL for obvious reasons because they're shelf life, right? So I mean, Jadorean Price is eligible for the NFL draft if he has a big season the rest of the year. Then you have Jeremiah, who's eligible for the 2026 NFL draft the next year. So that shelf is going to get restocked pretty quick at running back ultimately. But like, guys, right now, I can't wait for the day that we talk about Keidren Young as an RB one or part of a big running back tandem at Notre Dame, but like the speed and game breaking ability that Notre Dame has in backfill right now, at least difference. I mean, just think about that first touchdown run for Jeremiah Love, where he turns the corner. Guys, I didn't think he had a chance to score on that play. And I'm just like, where the heck did that come from? Well, that linebacker took a poor angle because he didn't realize how fast Jeremiah and then those events, I'm like, he's safe to coming over, had no chance, no chance. And then Jadorean Price just casually has a house call with less than 20 seconds left, almost the entire length of the field run out the clock. He's like, no, I'm not comparing him to Reggie Bush, because Reggie Bush is one of the greatest college football players of all time. But he looked like Richie Bush against Fresno State on that play, which was just like just crossing field casually and just running for you. It was crazy, man. Absolutely crazy. Yeah, look, there, those, anybody in that running back room is going to be fun to watch this year. Bottom line, bottom line. We're going to see more of four and 24, but they're going to be fun to watch, man. Lou Holt's Thunder and Bolt's top 10 screen name of all time. Appreciate that. Appreciate the super chat as well. Players look angry like they shed the glamour of just being happy to be part of Notre Dame. And remember, this is football where football players, let's punish them. Let's hope they stay pissed all year. Couldn't have said it better myself. I completely agree with you. You get the golf clap there from Trevor. And there's no doubt about that. They look complacent last week. They look like this two weeks ago. They look like they wanted to play. They played hard. They played physical. All of that. And then they look complacent last week. And then they got a fact this week. And that is the very definition of Marcus Freeman tenure. And so that's why they need to start stacking games. Right? That's the whole point. We haven't forgotten what we said about Marcus Freeman and the coaching staff last week. Yeah, I'm forgotten it. They look great today, but they got to stack it, right? Because look, Mac team last week, Big Ten team this week, Mac team next week. So are we going to see, you know, well, SEC really good, Mac really bad. Big Ten really good, Mac really bad. Like, is that what we're going to see? I hope not. I hope not. I hope lessons have been learned, but we're going to have to wait and see how that all plays out. A ST 12321. Thank you for the super chat. Appreciate you very much. I needed this so bad. Same. I was grumpy all week, dude. It's going to be all week. I had a video go pretty viral because I was just someone was like, man, did you see the emotion in Ryan's voice? I'm just like, yeah, bro, I'm a Notre Dame fan that grew up in that was born in the 90s. Like this is so depressing this, this world that I live in. So yes, we needed this, even if it's just a momentary glance of like, okay, you know, and not a full scope, we're good. It was still very needed to sing the least for sure nerd for life. Thank you so much for the super chat. Appreciate you. What are your opinions? Number one, Riley in the running game. Number two, and jelly with better passing, but you're going to have sacks. I am with Riley hoping his passing gets better. I think it's I think the most optimal thing is that Riley Leonard incrementally improves and if you're just Steve and jelly team Riley Leonard and those are the only two options on the board, I think that I would go with Riley Leonard, hopefully incrementally improving like that would be the best option for me personally. I agree. I think if you're wearing your options of Riley becoming better in the passing game or Steve and jelly becoming a dynamic runner, I think you have to err on the side of hoping Riley improves in the pass game. Yeah, I don't know what it is. You know, we talked about what leads to improve with Riley Leonard in the pass game and it's really not within structure. It's really about the opportunities when you get it like in a Texas A&M game. Like, yo, if you just hit that before, that's a big all scheduled play that shifts the dynamic of that game. Last week of a last drive, he had a chance to hit Bo Collins being pressured from behind, but if he just it seems like, you know, his mechanics are rushed up or he gets two mechanicals. I think he had a an opportunity when he was rushing to the left and he had to I know one of the tight ends or wide open and I think it was another receiver wide open if he just does the same thing Steve does in the touchdown, which is like level off his shoulders and just let the ball go, like yo. And for whatever reason, you know, when it gets out of structure, I don't know if he's not as confident to let the ball go because I know he knows I would like get his shoulders parallel to the line of scrimmage. He's done it. I'm sure plenty of times when there's like something happens that when it actually takes place in the game, you know, is it just him not seeing it soon enough because his eyes immediately go down once he starts to become a runner and it's not as natural to him. But hopefully that's what coaching is for, right? Like, yo, we have to solve this because we have opportunities. I won't even hope. I think the big issue Ryan pointed out the play in the pocket. That's just, you know, trusting the pocket and find the space in the pocket. Yeah. Whereas, you know, you hate, was that that was Jeremiah behind the defense? I think it was Jeremiah at the five yard line. Yeah. Yeah. It was. Yeah. You know, but once again, like, yo, pull the trigger, like you see that that's, you know, flick at a wrist, pull the trigger when you see it, get yourself some time. And that's, that's something that can be a better. If no, if it makes no rain fans feel any better about the Mac thing right now, Toledo is currently beating Mississippi State in the third quarter, 35 to three if that makes for anybody feel like you don't might be the, but I think Toledo is the best team in the Mac. They get the best talent. Usually are. That coach is great too. Jason candles. And awesome coach. No, not about it. Yeah. Yeah. We camped there over the summer and they got it going on over there. There's no. He's awesome to Vince because he's one of those really cool stories of, I, I know some people at Toledo and I know the former DPP of Toledo and it's Jason candle keeps getting offers from like power five schools to be an office coordinator and he keeps saying no because he loves Toledo, dude. It's like crazy. Good for him. So I, so you're the one that needs to put in a good word for my kid. All right. Just want to make sure. Okay. I do know a couple of people at Toledo. So I actually said we could assist with that a little bit, but yeah. I tell you what, this is a complete sidebar. When we went to that camp, you know, they're all run pretty much the same way, no matter what school you go to, Toledo had kickers going through tackling drills, which I thought was crazy, but freaking awesome. So just wanted to throw that out there. I thought it actually allowed my kid to show off like how athletic he is, but like it was hilarious. All right. We're going to do some tackling drills. Let's go get the dummies out. Let's go boys. I'm like, okay. Let's do this. It was like a four or five hour kicking camp. It was nuts. Well, well, your, I mean, your son only does his throw touchdowns and stuff. So I mean, it's a great tackler as well. You know, it is what it is. You got to do. You got to do what you got to do. All right. Nerd for life has another one for us guys. Thanks for the super chat. Again, nerd. Appreciate you very much. This is Vince. I can't take it anymore. What's wrong with the punter? It's horrible. I think there's some split blame here because they've been rolling them out and doing the rugby pun. And we kind of talked about that a little bit already. I appreciate the super chat nerd, but I don't know if it's just because he's never played the game before. If he's not used to just the liveness of it, I know that's not a word, but you know, he's going to have to get it figured out because like we said earlier, field position is going to be important in one of these games. One of these games, he's going to have to pin him inside the 20 or inside the 10 or inside the five or something and not come up with a 30 yard punt when you need a 50 yard punt. You know, I mean, it's going to happen. So they have to get this figured out. I'm not putting it at all on on Rendell. Some of this has to be on the special teams coordinator, right? Because I think they might be putting them in some positions to not be successful. But the bottom line is the results not okay, averaging 37 yards a punt in a big 10 game is not okay. It's not okay. You've got to be better than that. You have to be better. The operation has to be better. So we'll see what happens. We'll see what happens. Hey, Irish Breakdown listeners, it's Urban Meyer. TT, is that a snapback or a fitted and where'd you get it? This is a snapback hat. I got it in the bookstore on a whim is for the 2022 Clemson game. So yeah, nope, it's comfortable. I wear it every game since, actually, well, that's a lie. I didn't wear it last weekend, so maybe last weekend was my fault, so it's your fault. Listen, I was talking about it before we started the show, but the weekend before the wedding or the weekend of the wedding, Lauren and I didn't watch the game together. And that was Texas A&M. Last weekend, watched the entire game together start to finish. Today, she was at work the entire first half. I'm just saying, listen, man, hey, don't, hey, don't make a practice of throwing your wife under the bus. That's a bit of advice, so you just got to get her like a spa day during game games like something like that, you know, totally saying, totally, I'll, I'll just, I'm just so upset that I blame Marcus Freeman all week for that loss when it was really true. I know. I was about to say, like, I'll make sure we get it covered on the keys to victory show next Thursday. So no, but, but no, it's a snapback, got it at the bookstore, so nice. Good stuff. All right. We got one from Matt last. Thank you very much, Matt. Appreciate you very much. What is your concern level zero to 10 on Leonard being able to develop a quality passing game for the offense and how much can it impact wide receiver recruiting, a recruiting question, Ryan, high school and the portal? I mean, how much could it, I think that that's a very, like, I think there's a lot of layers to that question, Matt, if we're just on recruiting for a second, right? I mean, it comes down to quarterback wise, you still know that there's talent in that room, right? Because the future wide receivers aren't going to be playing with Riley Leonard. Like he, this is his last year of eligibility. They're talking about CJ cars. They're talking about Kenny Menchie. They're talking about maybe do snide. They're talking about whoever the heck the 2025 quarterback will be. Like they're talking about those guys ultimately, right? Can it hurt your your wide receiver recruiting if your offense is not potent from a passing game perspective? Absolutely. So it'll, it'll potentially hurt. But I think that's more like an overlying conversation, in my opinion, as far as like a Riley Leonard zero to 10, I think that I met like a before last week, I was at like a two or something, right? And then after last week, I met like a five, like I'm probably like a five or six right now. Like I am worried about it. Like there's no doubt about it. But I do think that it's one of those things where like as long as it gets a little better each week, I can be okay here because he does enough other things to get you excited about. It's just going to be a little bit of a process, I think. All right, I, that's perfectly, you put it perfect, bro, it is something that bears watching. I don't want to overreact this, you know what, this is one of those things, right, where you come in with a brand new wide receiver coach and transitions when it comes to recruiting can be difficult, depending upon the position, especially if you don't have a really good GA that's in there because remember like the transition to Harry, he's staying. And before he stands took the job like Trevor Mendelson did an incredible job like on Charles Jaggersong, some of those other kids, the first day of the open period and like solidifying them and Charles Jaggersong was like, yo, you know, the name was the first team at the door. You know, waiting outside like 30 minutes before the open period, like that's, you know, that's something that's like sticks with kids, man. So those efforts, I don't know if there was anything in the situation where Mike Brown coming in to where he might have been behind. I definitely think with a couple of guys, it moved them back and he fought to get them back in the picture. Ultimately they weren't able to close the deal and they swung big. That does, you know what, they swung big. They went big and they missed. I'm not, this is not absolution from some things that I think were flaws in the process, but they swung big and they missed, right? Double R, you feel free. You know, should they have, if they, in the evaluation process, did they kind of move on from some people that they shouldn't have moved on? That's definitely a fair question, absolutely a fair question. You know, but am I mad at the three guys that they really targeted? Nah, I'm just upset at the results. Yeah, I'm upset at the results, you know, and so do you have to do a better job at kind of layering your offers and who you mark as a high priority and kind of make sure you have guys that you feel very confident that you're going to get as you go after the two in three prospects? Probably so. And that's something Mike Brown, I think, will answer in the 26th class at that position. And ultimately, what's even more effective is Notre Dame winning games and making the playoff. Like regardless of passing stats, like, yo, make the playoffs be one of those teams in the quarter final or the semi final, and that right there is going to draw eyes at every position, right? Because who doesn't want to be part of a program that is in the initial college football playoff? I think that's something regardless of passing yards that needs to take place. You know what I'm really happy about Vince is that in my new job, I talk NFL draft, I talk college football. Of course, I cover some Notre Dame stuff because of my allegiance to Notre Dame, right? But I don't have to cover Notre Dame recruiting quite as closely, which is fantastic, Sean. Like fantastic. I'm just like an observer at this point. Unfortunately, that some of the deuce night drama has kind of like hit me in the forehead. It's like, hey, Ryan, here's some stuff that you can report like cool, man, thanks, I got it. But otherwise, I'm just happy I don't have to deal with that stuff anymore on a daily basis. Shout out to Nick Kramer and the rest of the crew and I should break down, but it's not me anyway. All right, let's move on to the next Super Chat. Let's see. One, another one from Matt, thanks for the Super Chat again, my man by no means an expert. Maybe I'm off here, but can any of you put a word to Denmark and let him know he doesn't have to run jet sweeps with Jaden Thomas? I made a tweet about that. I felt kind of bad because like literally in parentheses, Trevor, I put, I like Jaden Thomas in parentheses. And I said below, why are we running into rounds with Jaden Thomas? Got a lot of other options. I don't know. A lot of other options. Yeah. I can't disagree with that. Go ahead, Trevor. We're saying nothing. Go ahead. Yeah. No, I agree. The option to go with JT there was interesting. I will say watching the play develop, the two lead blockers that pulled and were out in front of them completely whiffed on both of their blocks. I'm not saying he would have taken to the house. I love the play call, by the way, like the design is awesome, just like somebody that should be running it. I agree. I agree. 100%. So maybe JT wasn't the right person to do it, but I do have to throw in there multi-layered the two lead blockers completely whiffed on who they were supposed to hit. That's fair. No, that's absolutely fair. We got one here from Isaiah layman. Thanks for the super chat. I see J love cutbacks in my sleep, not as much as the Purdue defense. I'll just say that. All right. He loves some guys hugging some air today. There's no doubt about it. I didn't banami. Thanks for the super chat. Anyone else here Chris Berman go whoop, when J love makes a cut can only love and price be in the backfield in meaningful minutes. No Ford, please don't say shade of my guy, Devin Ford, man. He's done everything. He's done everything for a reason. He's done it. Fucking a way to go play safety because they did it up the place safety, but I understand the point. I didn't like you have to dynamic running back to see him on the field as much as possible. I do think there's a role for Devin Ford, though, like I still think there's a role as a pass blocker in like obvious situations. I think you can do that type of stuff, but I don't want to see him touching the ball more than those guys. Obviously, right? Like at the end of the day, I would say for me too, it's like, and I knew that I didn't was going to say this because he commented on one of my Twitter things. And yes, the thing that makes Jeremiah love special is his straight line speed is probably about the same as Jadorean prices. I don't think that he's like a ton faster than Jadorean. It's the ability to stop and change direction, which is just like, what do you do? Like, this doesn't make any sense. Some of the cuts he makes at like as a highlight dude is pretty rare, very rare. If we're talking about cuts and moves and things like that, first of all, Jaden Gray House, great cut and, you know, come back to the inside. That was awesome. And I wish that play counted because for so many reasons, I wish that play counted. And number two, I believe it was Eli Reardon when he did was he did the spin move, right? There's the slowest spin move I've ever seen. And it was still yet it was still effective, like it will look like it was in slow motion. And yet it was still effective, which was amazing to me. But next time just keep going to the corner, dude. Just keep going. Do not. He's not the change of direction guy, man. He's the outside zone foot in the ground vertical guy. So go to the corner. Go to the corner. Don't cut. That was great. I actually wrote that down. I'm like spin move question mark, like, but hey, it worked. So what who am I who am I to judge someone else's spin move? Andy Milton fan, thanks for the super chat wants to know if I'm sipping a bloody Mary. First of all, no, I've got one of those like color changing type cups, and there's actually just Coke Coca Cola classic in there. And I have the Bloody Mary's a gross also the canned proof. Oh, yeah, gross, absolutely disgusting. That can't do Bloody Mary's and I am professional enough that I will not be drinking on the job. Also, I have to, you know, keep people like think I drink on the job based on some of the takes that I might have at times. And that's fair, but I try to keep it as clear headed as possible while doing shows. So yeah, no drinking on the job from me. All right. I'd been on me. Thanks for the super chat. Ryan Roberts. What did you think of the linebacker play and the overall blitzing big, big, open question? I think, I mean, they weren't able to get the run game going early at all and just throughout the game. So obviously that tells you that the linebackers were probably doing their job. Max Claire, their tight end had a couple plays, but I don't think it was as down this seem like I thought it was going to be so like overall, I thought the linebackers played well as starters perspective, Jay Lenstein obviously had the big hits. I thought Drake and Jack were just mostly in the right spot. It seemed like like they just did their jobs overall. The flash plays though, when Kingston got in is like, okay, like I love Drake. And obviously Jack has paid his dues and done a lot of things. But like at some point guys, you have to be like, Hey, KBA needs to play more. Like he just does. Like he's just a different type of cat. So he was dynamic. I thought overall. Like the linebackers played well, but I think that the young guys is where like the flash really came from today. I think one thing I did notice in the first half is that the normal rotation they've been having, Kingston wasn't part of their rotation as much in the first half. And then he got a lot of playing time and I know there are certain things, but you only get that from learning like double R. He'll he'll become better and pass coverage. He would have right and teams, the other team plays, the other coaches get paid to scheme and they scheme the very well to isolate him, right. And he'll pick it up. He'll learn. He's definitely a fast learner. You could tell the way he reacts and way he plays he gets it. So you're not going to get him, you know, multiple times down the road on something he saw in week two. I don't think that's going to be the case. But, you know, that is, you have to trust and then now you have to earn your way back on the field and those situations and kudos to Al Goldman for setting that standard. Like yo, hey, that's not good enough, you got to be better at that. So we're going to take you out of the rotation, the first half rotation and it's primarily going to be these four guys, but second half, you're going to have an opportunity to get a lead. And yo, he took advantage of the opportunity. You saw what you wanted to see from him responding to, you know, his failure. That's what you love. When kids fail, how do they respond? He had some failure last week and the excitement and the confidence he played with today. And he was talking to, I love that, he was talking and doing all this, like, yes. So he's a confident kid that's not going to be a rapper. You can tell, like, that's not rattling me. Like let's go love it. Well put could definitely agree with both of you guys. KVA is a player. There's no doubt about it. Multavious with a super chat. I don't know. It feels like it's like a gladiator name. I love it. All right. Thanks for the super chat. Still don't trust this team can let her move the ball through the air or not. TBA. I mean, they did move the ball through the air. It just wasn't what people want to see, right? I mean, he threw it for over 100 yards, which obviously is not great, but he moved the ball when he needed to. Yeah, good point. Yeah. Good point. It was only one half. Thank you, Ryan. You know, he can move the ball through the air. It's just not, it's not the big pass place that people want to see. Right. Okay. Yeah. I mean, look, go ahead, Trevor, just let it all out. A team won a national championship last year, not moving the ball through the air. Okay. Like, can we, can we just say that there? That's right. It's true. Like, if, if JJ McCarthy last year, starting quarterback in Michigan, zero touch now passes in the national championship, don't do it, Trevor. I will. I will. I will. I'll Michigan podcast was going to clip you. I'm just letting you know. Go ahead. That's fine. And they can, they won the national championship last year that and for now they did. But JJ McCarthy last year had 140 passing yards in the national championship game. No touchdowns. That's just the fact that is, that's, that's I'm looking at the stat sheet right now. In the big 10 championship game, he went 22 of 30 for 147 yards against Penn State. He went six of eight for 60 yards. He threw three picks against Bowling Green, but they were able to run the ball effectively creatively. They went 15 and 0 and won a national championship. I guess for me, it just begs the question of what would you, would you rather have Notre Dame today, one like 42 to seven, but like Riley looked awesome throwing the ball. I mean, having two, having two hundred and twelve total yards of offense and three total touchdowns to yourself in one half, like I, I just can't wrap my mind about being upset about that. He, he has to learn how to push the ball down the field effectively, because whether it's in the playoffs or whether it's against USC or Georgia Tech or Louisville, Notre Dame is going to have to figure out a way to have a vertical passing game, but they just didn't have to today. And that's fine. Like I, I, I just, I don't understand. That is my, that, that is the thing I don't understand. Notre Dame wins by 59 points and the biggest takeaway is Riley Leonard didn't have 19 completions on four verts. I guess if that's the reality for Riley Leonard, that's what it's going to be. But it is what it is, I guess, because the day that he does that, the question is going to come up. But why didn't he run more because he's a dynamic runner. Yeah, it's not a, and it's a good rant because, yeah, there's never going to be a balance with the conversation. If Riley goes out next week and throws for 300 yards and four touchdowns, people are just going to say, Oh, well, but he sucks every other game. That's the only game that he's ever been good, right? So yeah, the conversation is not going to end at any time. Yep. Fair enough. All right. We got a few more to get to. And this one is wide open. Idon Benami, thanks for the super chat. What if any was the biggest issue y'all saw today? I mean, I mentioned it. I think, I think the biggest issue, if there's a glaring weakness of this team, it's that I still think that Riley Leonard kind of puts his eyes down when he breaks the pocket. I think if that, if that gets corrected, I think that we have, I mean, we probably don't have any more points, but I think it just looks a little bit differently in this game. And people kind of look at it like, Oh, maybe Riley Leonard can be that guy a little bit more. So I just think it's that putting your eyes down a little bit. Otherwise it's just, you know, you had a couple guys banged up today, ultimately. We don't know what the longterm prognostic is for, for Jordan Betelho and Ashton Craig and Billy Shrath right now. They didn't disclose those things. I'm sure we'll find out on Monday, but like outside of just Riley Leonard getting his eyes up when he breaks the pocket. I think it's just the injury stuff. This is Nick picking, but, um, yo, Anthony napping pass pro is like I said, and don't know why I think you stepped out when I said it. I said, as he continues to play, you know, you kind of wonder, like, is he open in the door for Sullivan Apscher at the tackle position who played much better than pass pro in my opinion, you know, in the second half. So, you know, that, that bears watching, and, um, but that's honestly, that's Nick picking because the, the kid was absolutely, has been absolutely amazing in Brumbelock. He really asked. So, at this point, just not the hardcore much of our said, I'll just throw it out there. That's something you can think about. That was an issue. I'll be consistent. I'll be that guy. Punting is still the biggest issue. Uh, they need to fix that. So I'll be that guy. All right. You guys all nailed it. I mean, I just don't want to tread all over what you guys just said. Punting is still a major issue for me, and I'm joking partly, but I'm also serious. Like it's, it's an issue that they need to get fixed because I, I do think it's going to bite them in the tush one of these days. All right. Big super chat here from the dribble detective. I don't think I've seen this one before. I kind of like, I kind of dig that name. The dribble detective. Thanks for the super chat dribble adversity and how you handle it defines a program and feels true character of your team. These guys could have folded after Lex last week's debacle, but didn't still doesn't solve every problem, but a good sign of what is to come. In a nutshell, absolutely correct. We just need to see it again, because in my opinion, there's a, there's adversity this week now too, because as I said before with the roller coaster, you got to show up and you got to, you got to put it to Miami of Ohio, you guys. So the, the, the, the secrets of like being sorry versus actually correcting yourself, right? And I was like, my daughter is three years old right now, right, Sean? And I know that you've gone through this obviously and vid you have as well. But like they say sorry, but then they go back to do the same thing over again. Right. Right. And so, so yes, we got to apologize this week and Notre Dame came out and said, Oh, we're not going to do that again, right? But then if they go back and do it again next week or the week after that, that doesn't mean that they actually had a epiphany, doesn't mean that they actually made a change for the long haul. So yes, they did that, the dribble detective, I agree. They came back and they made up for their mistake last year in a last week in a vacuum, but it is not for sure corrected until we see it over and over and over again. That's how it works. This will be something that we'll dive deep into come the bi week, right? Like after the Louisville game to truly say if Notre Dame bounced back fully because we've talked about it so much, it's a lot of this with Marcus Freeman. And I would like to see a heck of a lot more of this. So and to be fair, just three games after the Northern Illinois game is still a relatively small sample size, but, you know, I don't want to harp too much on what Ryan said, but consistency for me, that's, that's when you'll start to see it. That's interesting that you said at the bi week because I actually think the evidence is going to come after that bi week because I think they're going to be due. They they have targeted the Louisville game. Like I don't think that's the one game I wasn't worried about them emotionally being ready to play. That's bad blood. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They're right. They're going to be ready to play show. The games after that was that Georgia Tech and Nate is that Navy and Georgia Tech after the bi week? I can't remember. I think Georgia Tech is I know Georgia Tech is maybe the second or third game. The second or third game after the bi week, maybe the one of those games. I start to and Navy is always one of those games, man, because no one wants to get chopped up. No one's looking forward to that preparation is boring, that's blah, blah, blah, but you have to go play the game. You know, that is the type of game that I worried about. You know, after Louisville, I would expect if they if they play, I would expect them to play well next week, kind of on the hangover, right, and just go and roll next week. But then like you said, Ryan, next week, if they're looking forward to Louisville, and can't be consistent and end up in a late third quarter game, where it's a one possession game and eventually they win, it's like, all right, here we go again. Exactly. I learned a lesson, you know, so that that could go to what Trevor said, like it could be telling. Next week, we'll be telling in a way that Louisville game, that's going to be a game that I think you're probably going to get no two names. You're going to get, I think a B plus A game from Notre Dame is Louisville. If I had the bet, I would put money on them playing well that game. I'm sure we're going to jinx this now, but like there's no way they come flat against Louisville, right? Like after last year, there's like zero chance, right? I, man, I know, we'll see if if I'm handicapping that game, like today, I feel really good about how Golden's defense against Louisville. I feel really good about how Golden's defense, like the offense, I'm still a little like, I don't know what team's going to show up. Like, and I think that that's legit right now. But defensively, I feel really good that that Louisville is going to have a really hard time putting it in the end zone on any kind of a consistent basis, right? Purdue only scored because, you know, Notre Dame tackled themselves. I just, I don't, I just don't see Louisville being able to score consistently on Notre Dame. I just don't, the offense got to step up and be a factor in that game. But right now, I feel very good about the defense. Okay, like I said, a few more to go, Chris Brown. Thank you so much for the super chat, huge bounce back game. D was flying around and you could tell they came out juiced. Could not agree more. Chris, appreciate the super chat, my man. Relic you, thank you also for the super chat, underrated positive from games like this. The twos in the threes get live game reps, in my opinion. This is a major part of building depth, first being recruiting. Notre Dame needs more of this. A season of close games prevents that. Let's go ahead. Looking at it, yeah. So doubt about that completely agree. It was fun. I mean, the fact that they got all four quarterbacks into the game is, is definitely saying something. And I'm pretty sure everybody played at some point or another. They snuck a mini. They're on special teams, offense, defense, whatever the case may be, I'm sure that almost everybody played. I'm going to say almost because I'm sure there's like one guy that didn't play it. Like, I don't know that I saw Tyler Buckner out on the field, for example, but I'm sure everybody. I don't know. I'm sure a lot of people played on it. Still waiting on that double reverse pass, baby. Yeah. We're all still waiting for that to happen. The fact that you mentioned Tyler Buckner made me think about this, Riley, you're not good at being the decoy guy, given signs, like it's obvious you're not the guy. It's so obvious. You're not the guy. Like, it's obviously has, he hasn't been doing it probably, right? I know you're trying to be in ball a little bit better, my man. He's like breaking a board over and then just like gave a thumbs up. Yeah. Oh, that was really funny. That's fantastic. All right. Let's see what we got here. Nate T the lawn boy. Love that. Thanks for the super chat. Thanks to buy some saucy nugs hashtag Wendy's great show guys go Irish. Appreciate that, Nate. Thank you very much. For those of you who don't understand that particular super chat, it's because of the Wendy's ad that is in the podcast. They sent us the copy. So I had to read what they said and it's all about the saucy nugs and it's over and over. I say saucy nugs over. Have you had the saucy nugs? I have not. It's too saucy for me to be perfectly honest with you. But if you drive past your local Wendy's, they'll be signage on the outside with the saucy nugs. So yeah, but I'm happy to do it. I'm happy to be when Wendy's spokesperson for Irish Breakdown podcast. It's a lot of fun. I'll be anybody's spokesperson for some of them. It's what I'm saying. I'm super happy. Super happy. I definitely give money to Wendy's. So my kids love it there. Okay, last one as of right now, Randall Nor. Thank you very much for the super chat. Appreciate it. He goes, I'm just trolling with my Notre Dame midshipmen comments. But honestly, the chat needs to accept that our ceiling is highest with Riley Leonard as quarterback one, QB one, the green fellas. I think I think this season it is. Yeah. Yeah. But you don't have to accept it, though, if you don't want to. I mean, it's just that's just my opinion. Other people are going to have different opinions out there, obviously, right? But yes. If you're asking me who I think has the most upside this year, I think it is Riley Leonard is. And then we're talking about 24. Yeah. Right. Like let's say like a hypothetical where Riley Leonard had to be red shirted because he got injured again. Got to forbid, right? Next year, CJ Carr, Richard freshmen, Kenny Menchie, Richard sophomore, and then Riley Leonard Richard senior, maybe the conversation is different, but like in 24, that is what I believe. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. I think it is different, Ryan. I think that's a situation where you sit Riley down and you're like, Hey, man, the future is now with this team. And I think you're going to be better off. Maybe there's a grad transfer someplace else, you know, to finish off your fifth year. And it's nothing against Riley. He's a great guy. He's a great dude. And I think he's a really good player. I think he's a dynamic player. But I think next year is where now you turn the reins over to either Kenny or CJ, whoever wins that battle. And regardless of what happens with with Riley this year, you know, if he does get that medical red shirt or whatever, I think you have to have that tough conversation. I just think you do. So that's where I'm at. So I'm with you on that one, Ryan. All right, fellas, that is going to do it. Thank you, everyone, for all the super chats and thanks for hanging out with us. We're just about to crest over the three hour mark. It's always fun to talk about a big W and a 59 point win would be that 69 to seven is your final score Notre Dame and Purdue Notre Dame then turns their attention to Miami, Ohio and a return trip to home where they are. Oh and one obviously on the season and we are not done talking about this game. Brian and I will be back tomorrow with upon further review tomorrow around seven o'clock. That is usually the plan will jump into the film and we will tell you what we saw, you know, in the game and and some different things that we didn't talk about during the postgame show today. So make sure you tune in for that. And then on Monday is when we now get to turn the page and start talking, we'll talk a little bit about this game, obviously, because we have the Marcus from press conference, things of that nature. I don't believe Brian does a show Monday afternoons. So Sean and I will be doing a show Monday night, Sean Steyers that is at five o'clock and we will talk about Marcus Freeman's press conference and then turn the page. So hey, stay locked in Irish Breakdown everybody, make sure you hit the like button, the subscribe button, the notification bell, share with your family and friends and of course jump on the boards, boards@Irishbreakdown.com for all of your Notre Dame football needs and a lot of good conversation. No doubt about that. So for Ryan, Sean, Trevor, thanks for hanging out with me tonight, fellows. Really appreciate everything you guys bring to the post game. It's one of my favorite nights of the year of the week, I should say. And hey, again, always good to talk about a big victory for Notre Dame. So for the guys, I'm Vince, we will talk to you next time on the Irish Breakdown podcast.
