"Fighting for Justice: DA Jason Williams' Bold Stand" On Freeing The Wrongully Convicted

Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams has drawn fire from both Louisiana lawmakers and Gov. Jeff Landry for the number of deals his office has reached with state inmates. Those deals have reduced convictions and sentences. In many cases, the deals were reached long after an inmate's trial.

How about those things? I don't want to hear it. I know what you're saying. I can just feel what you're saying. Man, that's Carolina Panthers. Man, that's nobody. Hey, a win is a win. A loss is a loss. L is a L, W is a W. And we got a W, baby. And if they are sorry as you say they are, then we were supposed to beat them the way we beat them. It was supposed to be a stomping. And it was better than last year. Last year, man had the same rookie and barely squeaked through. Something different going on. Something different going on. Guess what? There's a new offense. And here's the crazy part. Every divisional game we played, it's been a dog fight because they basically knew Pete Carroll offense. They knew it. They knew it like the bag of the hand. But they don't know Kubiak. Yeah. So you might have a problem. Lana. Tampa. You might have a problem. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, before I go any further, um, if you listening and you want to follow, you can follow on all major streaming networks, meaning Spotify. NOLA connection. All over the place. Man, just follow. Subscribe. Everything free and catch me, man. I didn't post every day this week because of we was celebrating pH weekend. For those who know, no, my name, Noble Robinson. So you know what pH me. I am a noble. So you know what that means. So it's for the weekend, man. We had a service a day turned out good. And it's one when I came home. Now when I finished today, I'm going to cut my grass. And because it's the only chance I have, I'm tired. I really don't feel like it, but it's going to rain all week. And if I don't, it's going to be higher next week, you know, so you got to do the damn thing. Now, let me ask you all a question. Let's get to it. If your family member friend, friend of the family or someone you know friend was to be convicted of a felony that either they were innocent and found guilty or at the trial, they trying to have a defense, but the defense was not good or the DA or the defense with evidence or something, something went wrong in the trial and they were found guilty, right? But if they can find something wrong or file an appeal, when you want them to get out, wait, would you be happy if your family member walked through them those again? Because they found out that the trial, something happened in the trial that was not right. It was some type of technicality, either the prosecutor did something wrong or the defense attorney did, something went wrong and like, wait a minute, man, we have to let these people out. Oh, they found an appeal and you found out they let them out. Would you be happy if that was your dad or whatever? How about this? Let me ask this question. Let me go further. If you know your family member committed a crime, you know they did it, but they was found guilty and the courts, let's say the courts didn't do, they do diligence and there was a lot of technicalities in the case, a lot of technicalities in the court, technicalities mean basically errors, errors in paperwork, error in whatever and they were able to get out of prison and start over or try again. They had another chance to start over try again. How would you feel about that? I mean, it's not it's your family member now. How would you feel about that? Would you say, oh no, man, you don't deserve to come home. You did that crime, bro. How would you feel? I think in my opinion, I think every last one of you would be glad. Maybe in the case of somebody who was just a complete psychopath and that's different, but I think you'd be glad to see your family member again. I think you'll be glad for them to have another chance to change their life around and you might say God gave them another chance and it could change their life around. I think you would be happy. Well, we have a D.A. D.A. Williams out in New Orleans, Louisiana. He freed a few felonies. I mean, he let a lot of freedom. Why? Why did he do that? It's because someone messed up in the trial or realized the sentences was too excessive. Oh, let me explain some to you. They have they had an article out and he's on the fight for that, by the way. That's what I'm saying. He's on the fight for that. The conservatives and you know what? It's not about conservative. It's not about liberal because I'm not about any of that stuff. I'm about to gather this. I feel like in order for us to advance on earth, not just this country, if we kill the separation, the racism, the foolishness, if you really know where races come from, I don't think you would be so separate. You know, one, that's another podcast. That's a whole nother podcast. That matter of fact, that's another podcast title. That's a whole nother podcast. Talk about stuff like that. That's serious stuff. That's that's that's talking about. No, we're not going to get get into it, but I'm not even going to get into it with you. But this this right here, man. Do you know that? New Orleans lead the US in wrongful conviction convictions. Louisiana just passed a suit of prison reform bills, but incarceration will remain a problem so long as district attorneys keep wrongfully locking people up. That is what I'm talking about. For years, just because whatever happens to innocent to prove and guilty, I tell proven guilty, that's what it's supposed to be. But for some reason, if that if that picture or that face flash on the news automatically and the public guilty, they looking for you, you must be guilty. And then when you get in court, you have a district attorney. Once the I said on you, they have tunnel vision. We have to convict this person that's who did it. That's who did it. That's who we feel did it. We have some type of evidence. So we have to convict them and they go. Then next thing, you know, all type of foolishness happened for years. I said this on my last podcast for years. We had just passed the law that says you have to have a unanimous decision on a felony conviction. We were the only I think it was another state and us, the one that was that you didn't need a unanimous decision. We finally passed that law. And do you know after the law passed, they still were convicting people without a unanimous decision, the law passed, the law passed, state law, not state law. And they still were convicting people after the law passed. Do you know how many people were at least because of that? They didn't file the pills and and went to retrial. Matter of fact, the person that um that I don't know what to say. Do I say unlive or the hell? The person that accused of killing ex the former defensive end will smit for the saints. He were filed a mistrial or he was let out and he was retried. I guess they should have known that was going to happen. And you know what? He was found, give that game and they gave him the same amount with a lesser charge. How do you get the same amount? So now that's another appeal. That's what I'm saying about Louisiana. That's what I'm talking about. But at least about Louisiana, that was excessive. A lesser charge, they get the same amount. That's excessive, man. So now when they find the appeal and he get out, people going to see, man, what what the da talking about? What the da doing? What what's going on? What what's going on? What's going on? These people don't do anything right, man. You know, listen, man. And this is how they think. Well, we're going to find your guilt anyway. You're going to jail anyway. In order to get out, you're going to have to file an appeal. And that appeal might take you 10 years. So at least you off the streets for 10 years. So they think, man. So they think, but it's only for certain people. Do you understand me? Innocent unto proving guilty works for only certain people. And I shouldn't have to say what it means. You know what I'm talking about. And we have to overcome this. So the da starting to do was right. Look, man, these people shouldn't be in here. They shouldn't be here. If you felt they were guilty, then you should have had better evidence. You know, you should have did the conviction, right, or the trial, right, or arrest, right? Because a lot of times the arrest is bogus. Louisiana have some explaining to do, man. Yeah, it's a fact. It's a fact. Well, I'm speaking to rest in peace, rest in peace to the, to the, to the, to the, to the, to the, sister that was killed after the shamrock. You know, I'm looking for her. Cause I have an organization and we do, we do, we do stuff for Thanksgiving, for families. And we adopt families to buy them Christmas gifts. And I heard she had four kids, four kids. And I've been looking for it. I don't know, I, for damn, this, usually in New Orleans, you find someone that knows someone. I don't know anyone that know this girl, man. And I know it's going to be tough leaving four kids, four kids. So I'm looking for, I'm looking for, and um, I want to help her out. I want to, you know, get her kids to help get kids something for Christmas. I want to do something like that. Um, so if anyone know her name, matter of fact, let me get the name for you. Get the name for you. I think it's Raven. Oh, yeah. And they shut down the shamrock matter way. Um, they shut down the shamrock. They shut it down. I should, I'm gonna tell you right now, I knew this was shut it down after that public. Wait, let me see. What was her name? Raven Francis. Her name is Raven Francis. I'm looking for, she was 29 years old, man. Rest in peace. I'm looking for her family. Anyone know the family? Please contact me. Even contact me at, um, contact@dunolaconnection.com. Contact@dunolaconnection.com. Email me there. If you know her, but it's a lot of things been going on. And, and, and I'm going to tell you something, man. Um, we have to start doing things right. So I'm for him, let those individuals free. Well, they've come in a crime again. Who knows? If they do, you catch them and put them in. But then you want to say, wait, wait, if you're willing to kept on me, nah, man, we can't, you can't have justice for some. It has to be justice for all, man. Justice for all. Oh, it's not going to work. That's why I don't work today. This is why it don't work. This is why you still have crime, high crime. No one trust who no one is trust this person. All this hate, all this, you have to start somewhere. You must. That's how I look at because, you know, it's unbelievable that in 2024, some of the stuff we still have to endure. And this lady lost her life over fight. Um, it was, it was her friend birthday, for now mistaken. And these women got to tell someone, another woman, and, and here's the, here's the kicker, the woman that's accused of killing her. This one, her first murder charge. This was not her first murder charge. Wow. Wow. Now people are going to say, man, if she would have been present, this wouldn't have happened with man. Listen, man, first of all, you can't predict the future. Second, you can't just be throwing people in prison because you think they did some, you have to prove it beyond reasonable doubt. And that should go for everyone. Everyone, not just for some, for everyone. And that's a fact, man. That's how I feel about that. Um, for those who have charities, for those people who do stuff doing things, giving it Christmas, I want you to contact me too, and contact actthenolaconnection.com. Um, this year, I want to do something big for the people. And she'll want to do something big, man. And, um, I really want to get in touch with her. Her name is Raven. I really want to get in touch with her family. I mean, her family so we can put together something for the kids during Thanksgiving, during Christmas. Thank y'all for listening, man. Appreciate it. Make sure y'all follow and subscribe. Hey, next week will be different every day or every other day post and one to two hour Sundays. Thank y'all for listening. One love.
