Breaking news, and this one is almost unbelievable. Yeah, it's all about new customers at Bet365, because they get $200 in bonus bets when they bet $5. And even better, bonus bets can be used on the spread, totals, and player props. There you have it. Bet $5 to get $200 in bonus bet. And see why it's never ordinary at Bet SpaceX 5. The gambling problem? Color-text 1 and 100 gambler. 21 plus only. Must be physically located in Colorado. Terms and conditions apply. There always seems to be some overreacting after the first couple of weeks in the NFL season. If your team's 2-0, you're going to the Super Bowl. If you're 0-2, you might as well start looking up some mock drafts. And also, is Marvin Harrison going to be the best wide receiver in football? All that and more right here on the Football Function Podcast. What's going on everybody? Guys and girls, welcome back to another edition of the Football Function Podcast, available on all your podcasting platforms, including my Patreon if you prefer an ad-free listening experience. As always, I am one of the hosts of the show, Michael Ritter. You can find me on ex-Michael5Ritter or on Instagram @MichaelRitter5. Joining me on this episode, per usual, my home because student of the game, young Terrence Minifil Terry. How are we doing? Man, I am doing great. A little better than you right now. I'm struggling with it a little bit, but hey, we'll make it through it. Funkeys, I am coming off any static weekend. I am not good on the front. I have been pumped, been pumped up the last couple of days yesterday. A couple of friends and I were in a golf tournament and we won the sum, bitch. And when I tell you, when I shut up and saw the sheer amount of people there, I did not imagine having the best golf game I've ever had. Man, it was so fun. Shout out to the guys. Don, Isaac and Mike, you guys are awesome. The team was the camaraderie we put together. Over the last month, I know we've been grinding and really wanted to put our best forward in this fucking tournament and manage showed. And I'm so proud of those guys. We were looking for a couple more tournaments in the future. We've got one coming up at actually a big course. This tournament was at a par three course, but hey, nonetheless, we still won that time, bitch. Still on cloud nine, even though we had a hellacious as work day today. Yeah, it finished off. Well, we had a good, it was a four bedroom house. Yeah, just took forever. And then after that, we had a fucking hot tub that just showed up out of nowhere that, you know, nobody else wanted to work. So daddy had to show up and pull the bridges up and, you know, get the job done. But other than that, fantastic weekend of football. Hope you funky's caught your favorite team's games. If it didn't work out. Hey, there's always next week, baby, always next week, always next week. So Terry and I were supposed to be joined by young Kevin Watkins, but like Terry mentioned, hellacious work day, things happen. They come up and it really was no slide to Kevin by any means. Yeah. So happens that his favorite team's playing right now in prime time, Texans versus the Bears. And if I'm not mistaken, I heard on the broadcast earlier today that, you know, they said that the Texans haven't had a home playoff game or I apologize, a home prime time game since like 2013. Oh, shit. I don't know how true that is. I believe all the times they've played in prime time over the past two years, it's been on the road. Yeah, that's kind of crazy. Now, I don't know exactly how spot on that is, but I did hear that I heard something along those lines on the broadcast. So of course, we're not going to make him miss this game. We're going to let him enjoy it. Like we'd want to enjoy our games. I think it was more bad scheduling than our part. Yeah, we were trying to do something we've never really done yet scheduling wise. Yes, we record during the Sunday and it didn't help that, you know, I had to work my ass off all day. Yeah, it just so happens that I had a good a good ride going of how many weekends, how many Sundays I did not work. Yeah. But Terry and I are going to try our best to get through this bad boy pretty quickly. I don't think it's going to take extremely long. It's not going to take two, three hours or anything like that. I think it's going to be a very quick episode and I think that we're going to roll through it in a rapid reaction type type of way. Yeah, I do believe that, but I do also believe that there's some flowers that are, I guess, deserve it from the football function. We are on a steady ride ourselves, aren't we? We're on a streak. Yeah, we're on a good streak going. A very good streak. Let's just kind of break it down for you guys. Now you guys already know, in order for this streak to be going, in order for this streak to continue, we cannot do it alone. We cannot do it without the likes of CM, obviously the college football function, we couldn't be doing it, doing it without grim reefer, grim wagers, obviously in goose as well, dropping the prime time edition because of all the contributions and the fact that the show is a well-oiled machine, and believe it or not, this is kind of what we had in mind whenever we started this bad boy, or at least whenever we started getting all of these shows coming in and we realized, okay, this is kind of how we would like to show the look, you know, going forward, long-term. This is the type of show that we would like, you know, in terms of covering all bases, giving you all of the content you could possibly have, or you could possibly need. So we are currently on a streak from September 3rd to this show dropping on September 16th. So that is, how many days in a row? I think it was like 15 days, coming tomorrow. Okay, I think total, yes, I think it might be 14 or 15 days. Yes, I'm like that. But the 12th, we had two episodes dropped, and there might be, I know for a fact we're going to have two episodes drop either on Monday or Tuesday because we're going to have goose's prime time edition, and obviously the, you know, the week two review, the week three review for the college football function. So this bad boy is continuing to roll, and you know, I'm just very thankful, very thankful for the team that we have here. You too, man. And the fact that it is growing, and I'm extremely excited for, you know, how this season is going to play out, because so far, just out of the gate, I feel like it's off to a pretty good start. Yeah, and obviously, like Mike said, a huge thing to the guys and the girls behind the scenes helping us out there, their journey. And also, that is an open invitation to anybody who wants to come down and break games down with us. Either that's your version of flash drive or roll report or whatever you want to call it. We would love to talk to you, get your point of view of these games, get you out on the airwaves, and let's add another memory to the family. Exactly. Well said. And also, that's kind of a little, I guess, invite for this week, because we are in a little bit of a, I wouldn't say pickle, because I don't consider, you know, this a pickle, because we've gotten out of it every single time that this has come up, as you guys know, as listeners of this show. I like to go watch the Falcons play in Atlanta, or on the road, wherever they are. But I like to go to games in person, and I'm going to the Falcons at Chiefs Sunday night for a while, a week from right now that we play it. What? And I'll be there in the stadium. Hell yeah. So Terry's going to be here, and we're trying to figure out exactly how we're going to get the week three review out and recorded. So I don't believe it's going to be one of the things that we're not going to do it. I truly have, I have faith in Terry number one, Sadhag. Even if this is the first ever solo Terry show, which... In four years. Which, you know, we wouldn't, we wouldn't want that to happen, because I'm sure, as you guys would know, as long-term listeners of the show, I don't feel like that's an area that Terry wants to go in. I don't have to have needed. I don't want to put in there, but yeah, like he just said, I know that if the situation came and our streak was on the line, he would be like the undertaker and come out of retirement for, you know, that WrestleMania. But nonetheless, I'd get it done. Looking forward to that. If you are interested in joining Terry on the week through review show, just let us know. We can get you on here and we could make it work. But anyways, are you ready to get into this bad boy? I am ready. All right. That's exactly what we're going to do. We're going to get into this bad boy. And like we said, we're going to rapidly break down these games. I don't think it's going to be an extremely long breakdown. Yeah, the longer breakdowns will probably be the flash drive and the roll report. Yeah, but we're going to start off here with an AFC showdown. The Las Vegas Raiders go into M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland and beat the Ravens 26 to 23. One of the bigger upsets, I feel like of the day. And there was a few. I feel like this was an upset weekend. There was a couple. CM called college football upset weekend. But I think that he might have been actually referring to the NFL slated games because there was quite a bit over the the course of the day. But number one, the Las Vegas Raiders, man, I really was surprised, but I shouldn't be whenever you get what you get from Gardner Benshew 30 of 38 for two 76 one touchdown. He did have that one interception, but he came early in the game. And you kind of seen Max Crosby kind of getting his face a little bit like not like in a negative way. He just kind of said, Australia, Hey, shake it off. We need you here. Max Crosby. And if you're going to talk to talk, you better walk the walk, which is exactly what he did. He had five tackles total, one assisted, two sacks, four tackles for loss. Just a phenomenal day after getting blanked in week one by Joe Alt was just something that we were all talking about in the week. The fact that Joe Alt is the real deal. Max Crosby was the reason they have almost saying that because I was talented of a pass rusher. He is in the fact that he did get shut out. He wasn't going to let that happen two weeks in a in a row. But on the offensive side of things, we mentioned that Gardner Benshew had a pretty big performance. A lot of those catches came from guys like Devonta Adams who had nine for 110 in the game. Touchdown. Finally. And then Brock Bowers who had nine catches as well for 98 yards looking like a household name there in Las Vegas, resembled Jason Whitten just the way he was coming up clutch there late in the game. I don't like any catches. He looks like the real deal. That was one of the biggest takeaways I took from this other than, you know, the Raiders getting a massive statement victory on the road was the fact that Brock Bowers is the real deal. And he's someone that I'm going to have my eye on for, you know, the coming weeks. Yeah, statement nonetheless, having a 10 point deficit in the fourth quarter just to stun him like how they did at this just testament how this this Raiders offense and the team really rallies around Derek Carr and what a performance he had. The Raiders scored 13 unanswered points and closed out the game in a dominant fashion. Is it is it time to or is it too early to tell especially, you know, them being one and one? But is it too late to tell that they're going to be competitors in that division? And then how do we do we lose hope for this 0 and 2 Ravens team or is it the panic button already being pushed? I don't think you need to hit the panic button yet. And I also don't necessarily want to just throw the Raiders in that, you know, that division race conversation yet. Now they might slide up from a tier three team to a tier two team. I feel like that's very much in the cards, but the Chiefs are just on another level right now. If they keep playing like this and they're always a team that that drives it to the Chiefs to the very the the the wire. So I don't know man. I think this this team actually proved a lot today against the Ravens and saying that, hey, we can close out games against these good ass teams. Look forward to us in the future if you if you play us. All right, let's get on to another game here. We're talking about, you know, you just mentioned the AFC West will stay with an AFC West team. The Chargers go to Carolina and get a 26 to three victory over the Panthers. And I'm not going to break this one down because we actually had somebody else have their eyes on this game. Another installment of the Roar Report. Our very own CM host of the college football function delivered us a breakdown of this game. Quote unquote sup Funkeys. It's the first Roar report of the year and it doesn't look pretty, but nonetheless the kitty cat suffered yet again another loss. Start the season 0 and 2 and look almost certain to get that number one overall pick in April. Breaking news on this one is almost unbelievable. Yeah, it's all about new customers at bet 365 because they get $200 in bonus bets when they bet $5 and even better bonus bets can be used on the spread totals and player props. There you have it bet $5 to get $200 in bonus bet and see why it's never ordinary at bet basis five. Gambling problem. Color text 1 and 100 gambler. 21 plus only. Must be physically located in Colorado. Terms and conditions apply. The Chargers pick up the easy dub 26 to 3. This quote unquote Panthers team looked anemic offensively. No rhythm. No confidence just out there taking up space. Defense is not the strength of this team. This is going to be a very long. He, you know, emphasized the word long about five O's two and four G's. It's going to be a very long year and honestly, I don't know how this team can be saved. This team needs multiple first round picks and 30 picks total. Embarrassing. Great game by J. K. Dobbins. Nice to see him out on the field again. Racked up 131 yards. It really is. Quinn Johnson catches five balls scored two touchdowns. A great win, but this is just the beginning to yet again another heartbreaking season. Take care, Funkeys. Enjoy the football while we got it. And if your team is having a bad year, always, always tell yourself, Hey, see him is having it worse. Week three, read you coming soon. See him. Loves you. God bless. Oh, shout out to see you man. I hate to hear it. I hate to see it dog. I hate to see it, but I will say one of the biggest takeaways. Quinn Johnson to catch his man. If that's you, him to not be a bus. That's huge. You pair him with Ladma Conkey and 26 yards averaging 13. Yeah, J. K. Dobbins giving you 131 yards on the ground. That's fresh as fuck. And guess what? He didn't even have the most carries. He only had 17 compared to Gus Edwards 18. So that's a good sign. Dobbins had a massive game in the fact that they're running the ball so much. That's a recipe. That's, I feel like going to help Justin Herbert because he's such a phenomenal quarterback already. If you could just not force him to throw the ball 45 times, I feel like you're going to get the best version of him. That's a recipe. So we just talked about the chargers like jubries. Let's move on from the chargers to the Saints and talk about the Saints going in the AT&T stadium and beating the Dallas Cowboys. And when I say beat the Dallas Cowboys, brother, that's what they did. That's exactly what I mean, man. Their offensive line just absolutely made Mike, Michael Parsons go on the missing people. They made him be a list. He might show up on a milk carton somewhere. Well, yeah, no. After coming up with a big game against the Browns offensive line, I really thought Michael Parsons was in for a huge season. I still think he's going to have a great season, but man, this Saints team just in Dallas, which is very rare. I've been to the, you know, a Sunday in Dallas with Michael Parsons on the roster. It's not an environment that's just set up for the road team to go in there and win and just have their way with them out in Camara, man. Yeah, one 15. He had three rushing touchdowns, one receiving touchdowns or one receiving touchdown. 65 receiving yards on two catches, though, just a massive performance from Camara. You knew he was going to ball. Once he got like two touchdowns, like, all right, this is going to be a big Camara game. And if you just go back, just for me, having a very big familiarity with this team, you know that since 2017, if Alvin Camara is having a big game, two, three touchdowns, the Saints likely aren't losing the game. Yeah, they're rolling. And Derek Kargis, 11 for 16, two, 43, two touchdowns, one interception, that one interception wasn't nearly enough to really hurt him near past the other side. Yeah, on the other side, Dak Prescott, he threw the ball 39 times almost 40 times completing 27 passes for 293 yards, but two interceptions to only one touchdown. The one touchdown was a beautiful play from CD lamb, which is where he got a majority of his yards, but he still had a pretty decent day, four catches for 90 yards on only seven targets. And like I said, that one massive touchdown where he just broke tackles. He was running, which is a great performance from CD. Honestly, you know, when Marshall and Latimore is ruled out to start this game, you better put up a pretty, you know, dominant performance. And luckily that's exactly what happened. Yeah, that's the only shining glimmer that these guys have in what they presented today. They just got absolutely thumped. The consecutive plays that, or the consecutive points that the Saints scored today was unacceptable for our defense. The first six drives of this game for both teams was just touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, literally like six straight touchdowns or six straight scores. Maybe the Cowboys got a couple field goals or something. Yeah, two field goals. But I will say that, you know, there's just a lot of action in the game. Yeah, speaking of action, as we watch, as we are watching the Texans and Bears games going around, there is a brawl about this in the left point. I'll shy here. I'll shy here. Caleb Williams, as he's running out of bounds. It was a lay hit. Definitely what you call late. Especially, you know, the starting quarterback, the young guy. And then after he got up, you know, a bunch of Chicago Bears in his face, he just delivers a nice little right hand. And he's a tech talent petri going at it. Oh, and now we're getting more. Yeah, it's it's flared up a little more is getting aided boys finish the ball game. Seven left in the third quarter here. Texans up 16 10. But yeah, Dallas was dominated this game. Ezekiel Elliott six for 16 Rico Dattle. Who do you expect that guy? I mean, I've no, I know who he is. Oh, I've never met him. But did you expect him to have more carries and actually start the game? I didn't know. Definitely not one you have a guy like Zeke in your back field who's been there and done that for this team. Rico, damn near doubled him up. Yeah, yeah, definitely had a, I guess, bulk of the workload. Let's move on to another game that featured an NFC South team. This one was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers going to Ford field to play the Detroit Lions. They get a 20 to 16 victory. You can rematch the division around, but I predicted the Lions to beat this team to start the same. And I was wrong. The Buccaneers come out and they look damn good. And I didn't give the Saints their flowers in the previous game. But I've got to say as much as I hate to say it, dude, it sucks to see the Saints and the Bucks both start to know. Meanwhile, Kirk Cousins looks like he could barely move his foot. That is tough. And we got Philly, followed by Kansas City. We don't, we can't afford to start 0 and 3, 0 and 4. So yeah, something's got to give or this season could get rough, in which case, Michael Pinnix, how you doing big dog, wouldn't mind seeing you checking the game. But either way, let's go and talk about this game. Baker Mayfield, 12 for 19, 185 yards, one touchdown, one pick. He also led the team in rushing for 34 yards, one touchdown and put a guy on the ground. He just duked Malcolm Rodriguez and literally put him on skates. It was one of the best places of the day. Where did you duck, what? But Chris Godwin, there was a pretty well-known tweet today that was a lock that Chris Godwin, five and a half catches take the over just because how much he's lining up in the slot, how much Baker Mayfield likes him. He had seven catches for 117 yards and a touchdown today on only eight targets. Mike Evans, three or 42. Jalen McMillan had his first catch, one for 21. So yeah, I mean, he was spreading the ball around Baker Mayfield, just playing phenomenal football. He has this team going into four filled and winning, even though Jared Goff threw 300 through for over 300 yards. He did throw two interceptions, so it's obviously going to hurt. The turnovers. Yes, turnovers are going to kill this team, but it means shit. I'm a great game from a Monro St. Brown, 11 catches for 119. And whatever. 19 targets though, man. He was there clearly trying to get him involved. What happened at halftime? I cannot remember the final play at half was just was this a fucking freak play? I couldn't I can't remember what happened, but some that should never happen in a football game, especially in crunch time happened right here. And it ultimately cost them to play or cost them the game. I feel like the whole game they had a lot of plays where they were just wasting bliable, you know, position on the field. They couldn't finish drives. They finished almost 470 yards, total yards in offense, and only had one touchdown to show for it. I guess the execution is in question this game. The definitely the panic button should not be pressed. Obviously the they the offense was on a roll today. It's just finishing drives, the little mistakes and stuff that really shot them in the foot kept them from winning this one. Let's move over to another game. Indianapolis Colts at the Green Bay Packers. I'm going to talk about this one in the previous show. I have faith, man. You guys you guys thought the Colts were going to just go in the Lambo. I did. I would admit that. Anthony Richardson goes into Lambo and he leaves with three interceptions on his resume. 17 for 34, 204 yards, one touchdown, but those three picks. Jonathan Taylor had a hundred yard game 12 carries for 103. Alec Pierce, five or 56, one touchdown, but just a quiet day offensively. The Goomba Packers did what they needed to do to get the win. Look at some of their stats. No interceptions off of a 12 or 24 or 12 or 14. I apologize. 122 yard, one touchdown game from Malik Willis. You can see where the game plan was. 151 32 carries. Man, maybe the Indianapolis Colts. Yeah, he worked, he worked himself out today. And that's really all I have to say about that. Just when we talk about Josh Jacobs destroying an NFL team. Yeah, single hand leading him single handedly. Now let's talk about one more game here before we, you know, get into our buddy Caleb Grant. Well, actually, we're going to dive into the flash drive right now, but okay, the Cleveland Browns, they get a road win 18 to 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. We talked about the battle of the Crimson quarterbacks. A lot of juicy storylines to look into with this one. Both of these teams coming off of the week one loss. We wanted to see who could bounce back, who could get up off the mat and write their ship first and not go to that fateful two and O or O and two. I apologize. No one ever wants to be O and two. No. So yeah, there's a lot of teams that are really trying to not get to that, that dreadful record to start their season. But anyway, let's talk about this flash drive. Caleb Grant per usual sending in his report and his breakdown of this game. And he says, quote, unquote, this one was a tale of two halves. First was all Cleveland. And they started off strong with a defensive stop and had along a 16 play drive that ends with the Sean Watson rushing in from one yard out. So Sean Watson gets a rushing touchdown. The Jags were struggling to get anything going before halftime. They got three on the board and Cleveland gets two field goals on a couple of drives. They shot themselves, shot themselves in the foot because of penalties. Breaking news coming in from bet 365 where every nail biting overtime win break away, pick six three point shot underdog win buzzer beater, shoot out, walk off and absolutely every play in between is amazing from football, the basketball and hockey to baseball. Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at bet 365 gambling problem caller text 1 800 gambler 21 plus only must be physically located in Colorado. Watson came out firing on all cylinders this week. Defense was making it really hard for Lawrence to get anything going. Cleveland looked night and day different from last week. And at halftime they had a 13 to three lead. Second half started with both teams stalling a couple times before Cleveland gets another field goal going up 16 to three. The Jags get a drive going after 66 or 66 yard pass from Trevor Lawrence to rookie Brian Thomas Jr. Had Greg Newsom on coverage and just outleveraged him on a nice catch. They end up scoring on a Travis ET and four yard rush brings the score to 16 to 10. A quick three and out to stop the Browns and the Jags come right back down the field and get three more points making it 16 to 13. Cleveland had a nice long drive and gotten to field goal range but because of three straight penalties they got pushed back and had to punt. The Browns punter pins it down inside the two yard line with under two minutes to go and the very next play Lawrence gets sacked and takes a safety and has to give the ball back to Cleveland and two more points to go along with that puts Cleveland up 18 to 13. Cleveland stalls and gives it back with a little bit of time but not enough and Cleveland holds victorious. After a hard fought game by the Jags you seem to be turning it on later in these first two games of the year. Just need to play the whole game that way and they will be just fine. The Jags defense stepped up the second half and made it really difficult for Cleveland to get anything going and they might be a problem in the future for whoever they play. Cleveland's defense finally showing why they were at the top of the league last year with another great day from J.O.K. in the boys. Watson finally showed some positive play and looked comfortable moving around and making the right decisions under pressure on to the next one. I know this was an important victory for the Cleveland. That's lovely to hear man especially Deschaun Washington coming out of this game with zero interceptions on that scorecard right there. That is the best stat of the day. Now we got the 49ers at the Vikings and they're shocking. We talk about upsets right or upset weekend. This was one of them. Yeah this huge surprise upset the Vikings put on the 49ers today and throughout this game you're going to hear a lot of ups and downs if you do go watching this. You do go watch this but is all going to be highlighted by Justin Jefferson's 97 yard touchdown catch and run from Sammy D. Right at the from his own end zone. Well this is like a foretell of the whole game. Sammy D is is in the pocket filling the heat stepping up and guiding his receivers into open areas fighting you know heavy pressure every fucking play. I mean I'm not every but most of downs you know that defensive line of the 49ers is hella good so they are putting pressure damn near every every play but Sam was unfazed tonight. This guy put on a clinic of how you should attack this team. 268 17 for 16 or 17 of 26 two touchdowns one interceptions that you know I really won't put on him. It's it's more of a connection error on that on that on that scene on that aspect but Kevin O'Connell right he's a coach for the for the Minnesota Vikings came in and executed the perfect game plan of keeping Brock Purdy in check with tremendous pressure different different blitz packages and just a steady defensive core who played phenomenal complimented comparable football and let's not forget that that 49ers a great great team Brock Purdy went 28 36 319 yards one touchdown one interception. Deebo Samuel was one of his main targets today eight receptions 110 yards but today they got out muscled they got outplayed at their game out physical this whole they never led Minnesota was opposing their will throughout every quarter scoring points damn near every every quarter so the Vikings are a team that I do not think a lot of people expected to be here especially when JJ McCarthy Torres Maniscus was out for the year they definitely lost hope in Sammy D and I'm here to tell you you better put some respect on Sammy D's name especially the defense the defense is phenomenal but Sammy D is going to show up and deliver every game I guarantee you well if you feel that way then I will you know I'll cosign for you because I know someone else is cosign for you and Grim Reaper yeah he believes in saying Donald and he should Grim Reaper actually was doing pretty well in his picks for the half fake sweepstakes unfortunately you know kind of held off in the end which a lot of people will do that yeah it's just kind of you know the nature of you roll you're on a hot streak though and then the three o'clock games hit and then bam you lose three out of four or something like that and yeah just it's a rough way to do it but we had an overtime game today hit damn near went the distance almost five full quarters yep the Seahawks go to see or New England I apologize all right and they get a three-point victory 23 to 20 over the New England Patriots Terry what went wrong here when I tell you I've never been happy at a loss today was that day that you were happy yeah today was that day I was happy that we not that we lost but you know this loss isn't one of those that I'm like you know we were just out fucking we were just outmatched which we weren't we held this game in our hands for three straight quarters it was not until that fourth quarter where I really felt we just ran out of gas every aspect every player in that game just ran out of juice it did not finish did not want to finish and it seemed like a dr. Mayor a male coach male was just calling the wrong plays and just derailed from the game plan to call me reset was awesome all game I have to give my flowers to that man because he was getting beat up he got he got sacked three times a day yeah they also got hit 12 times and that one three of those hits were some fucking hard-ass hits where it took a spatula to fucking pry him up off the field but you know this is going to be probably taken out of context but rather to call we per set take these blows right now then uh then our future franchise quarterback exactly if if yeah in some of those scenarios that Joe Jacoby Jacoby per set got smashed and I think you know I would like to think that Drake may is a lot more athletic than then per set to get out of those scenarios but I don't even want him in those situations um I'm rambling a little bit but going back to this game we are a run team obviously and when you pick up on those cues it's a lot easier to to fight us and a lot easier to pick up on a lot of the plays that are going to be called so your defense can just pin their ears back and you know let loose we have to figure out the depth heart and that's apparent and it showed a lot this game we cannot keep up with the likes of people who are going to have team or whoever have players over a hundred yards receiving um we had two that they're Seahawks at two this game DK may have 10 receptions 129 yards and Jackson Smith in jibba in jigba 12 receptions 117 yards these guys absolutely demolished our secondary us Jackson Smith brother our our uh a place where I thought we were solidified solid we got torts DK was wide open on his first touchdown of the game and a busted spusted cover lays over because I believe sorry breeder shawty breeder it was uh I want to say it was cal diggers fault they were uh miscommunications with him and Marcus Jones but nonetheless I feel confident in my team improving today we were physical as fuck we we uh played our hearts out for three quarters and heartbreakingly just gave up towards the end but the three quarters that we played we looked unbeatable in my in my point of view to go every percent finished the night with 149 yards one touchdown 27 15 of 27 Antonio Gibson I I'm in love with this man pause 11 11 carries 96 yards in the perfect perfect lightning to remandre Stevenson's thunder 21 21 carries 81 yards I love how we just we're not solely dependent on remandre Stevenson in carrying the ball we got Antonio Gibson who is a Swiss Army in my point of view who can catch balls out of the backfield with the best of them love the way our team is is uh you know going forward heartbreaking loss and OT but I'll take it any day the the Seahawks win this on 23 to 20 let's move over to another game the New York Jets go to Nashville and they defeat the Tennessee Titans Aaron Rodgers gets his first win in the New York Jets uniform 18 for 30 for 176 two touchdowns zero interceptions the receiving touchdowns went to Breeze Hall and Braylon Allen and Braylon Allen also had a rushing touchdown but I will say Breeze Hall man that just he decides he to score touchdown to start this season off he went 12 games last year without scoring but this year he's off to a pretty nice streak so shout out to him shout out to the Jets for getting this win but uh we're on the Titan side Calvin really was pretty much their entire offense yeah they scored 17 points he scored two of the touchdowns one of them was on a rushing just so he had one rushing attempt went for a 10 yard score and then he had four catches for 77 yards and then a receiving touchdown so Calvin Ridley was their offense today but Will Levis pretty bad performance he's making plays out there that are reminiscent of Desmond Ritter and I don't say that lightly and you do not want to have those comparisons yeah definitely not hopefully they can get that situation handled because I think that Will Levis has a hell of a lot more talent than Desmond Ritter had you just want to see it get molded in the right way yeah I you know obviously work with a huge jet fan and he had it on as we were working the day um breaking news and this one is almost unbelievable yeah it's all about new customers at bet 365 because they get $200 in bonus bets when they bet $5 and even better bonus bets can be used on the spread totals and player props there you have it bet $5 to get $200 in bonus bet and see why it's never ordinary at bet basis five gambling problem color text went in 100 gambler 21 plus only must be physically located in Colorado terms and conditions apply yeah it was just and from listening from afar it just seemed like nobody could get on rhythm nobody was you know finding uh you know that that point in the game where you know like we we have this by control it was always a question who is in control and that's pretty pretty rare to see when you have a quarterback like Aaron um Underhill you're looking at the QB battles it is not looking good for you know Aaron Rodgers in that in that offense if you get out doled by a man of Will Levis is you know it's not a knock on him but caliber I mean you're Aaron Rodgers you've got MVPs under your belts and you know stuff like that I guess this is a bigger testament to the Titans defense I thought coming into this game they were going to show up in the Oilers um uniforms I thought that was you know tweeted out there they showed up in these uniforms and I thought this was going to be one of the contenders for uniform matchups of the week but it wasn't it was not and I actually have to look at the games today to actually really decide who's going to get uniform matchup of the week because you know I really don't know this is a pretty good one that we got going on you know yeah these two these two are fairs rocking their orange jerseys in their orange I always love when they do that and you know the Texans are debuting they're all white they create the uniforms they just get a nice interception from Derek Stingley Jr let's see if he comes down with it and yeah that's a catch boy yeah if you're the backside judge would you rule the catch I'm running up signaling catch other way please let's go well I'm going to signal W and I'm not talking about you know for the win yeah wind is not I'm talking about for the Washington commanders whereas today pretty much you know Washington win it's the same thing it's synonymous they go well together and today we kind of saw that Dan Quinn gets his first victory as the head coach of the Washington commander let's go home win 21 to 18 over the New York Giants Dan or Jaden Daniels 23 for 29 to 26 zero touchdowns 0 picks only rush for 44 yards up 10 carries but you didn't need much more from him considering that Brian Robbins had a had 133 rushing yards on 17 carries so clearly we knew who was trying to uh win the game for the commanders or who they wanted to win the game from which is Brian Robbins and you'd love to see him get a workhorse type of performance yes and just a workload like that yeah I definitely love seeing it man 21 to 18 here Jaden Daniels gets his first victory in his young career and with a nice stat line as well I love how they are not solely dependent on him and Brian Robison man he's a hell of a running back a cowbell in this league second year third year I can't remember second year oh no this is in this third year third year it was 2022 okay I'm back oh yeah you guys shot yeah he did shout out to be over there on the giant side if you look at their stat line that looked this is looks like a performance that won them this game the fact it was a very close game obviously losing my three points Daniel Jones 16 for 28 178 two touchdowns no turnovers oh Devin Singletary had his best game as a giant 16 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown average almost six yards per carry Malik neighbors 10 catches for 127 look at the touchdown but he had a crucial drop on fourth down they gave the ball back to Washington instead of allowing them to be the one they keep the game winning field goal the commanders marched right down the field thanks to a pretty big throw from Jaden Daniels then he had to run off to the sideline set him up in brilliant field goal position and they do with my guy Austin or Austin cybert oh Oklahoma sooner legend boom machine the game winning field goal for them the commanders get a big win here 21 to 18 you love to see let's go moving on here another victory you love to see the Arizona Cardinals get a home win over the Los Angeles Rams and man let's talk about it again I feel like yes there's gonna be some players that went off today we're gonna talk all about him but man Marvin Harrison Jr. let's talk about four catches 130 yards two touchdowns talk about welcome to the NFL he looked like a superstar he looked like the player that everybody was waiting to see oh yeah this reminds me of the Julio Jones versus the Indianapolis Colts game his rookie year when he had two massive touchdowns I'll show you that game I really need to just kind of let you know like this was his first big welcome to the NFL moment so I have pretty high expectations for you know what this Cardinals offense is going to be James Connor getting 122 yards touchdown Kyler Murray three touchdowns or if you have three touchdowns 266 yards he also had 59 rushing yards so yeah dude this Cardinals offense is going to be a problem if they have wide receiver one type production like they got for Marvin Harrison today yeah though they look like they're rolling and not stopping anytime soon Kyler Murray looks like he's in peak MVP form in only game two and with the weapon like Marvin Harrison showing up like he did today if they can consistently do this with the running game of James Connor pound in the rock this Arizona Cardinals team could be the face of the football function so did yes we will talk about the Arizona Cardinals going forward I'm glad you mentioned that man because we have to give your team a shout out they will ask today on a football today and they're on the way to really you know wave in their flag is one of the best teams in the league Lego but you know how we talked about pukin Akua being put on IR what do you think would have been the worst thing that could have happened to the Rams after that losing coupe and that's exactly what happened he looks like he's gonna be missing some time this Rams team might be taking a downward slide despite looking good in week one and this week the Cardinals just jumped down Marvin Harrison snatched this game from him before they could even really you know get off the bus I think that though yeah that's just a you know a testament to them and how well they're playing but Pittsburgh Steelers went to Denver you know who ain't playing well who these two teams are about talk to Pittsburgh Steelers yeah they went to mile high I'm not really sure what that field's called these days was an um power field or something like that I really don't know but yeah the Steelers go to Denver the Falcons took a ricochet shot from one of the Broncos players because you know they say hey the Steelers travel where you worried about them you know having a pretty nice impact on your stadium this week and pretty much just said yeah the Broncos fans are better than Falcons fans and like like 50 saying oh why did they fuck me for what did I do anyways yeah Steelers start to know they beat the Broncos 13 to 6 and what seems like it was an electrifying entertaining game yeah it was definitely entertaining actually a game I missed but didn't have much to catch on we actually caught up on it you know as we are doing our prep here but next those two interceptions get was sacked twice and struggled on third down was the name of the game this team only converted two of 12 third downs the confidence level of bow nicks looks shot he looks rattled even though he had kind of quite a you know good stat 20 35 246 yards those two interceptions zero touchdowns these actually the Broncos only scored two field goals a whole game one of them coming in which I think an interception put them in good field goal position but they often stalled out a little bit and field goal came in the third quarter yeah it was just rough or fourth quarter it was just a fourth quarter yeah it was just a rough game in my point of view it just looked like bow nicks is timid what he makes throws you know how you when you see like a punch coming you flinch a little bit that's what it seemed like on all his throws he just saw his offensive line get their shit kicked in and the defense of presence of tj watt and company right in his face and getting rid of the ball was the only thing on his mind which I don't blame him but you know when you are the franchise quarterback you you kind of put yourself at this advantage when you don't have a running game bow nicks actually led the Broncos with 25 yards on a four carries that's just a recipe for disaster and it showed all in this field the Steelers weren't much better um George Pickens pretty much dusted um Patrick Shartain and was overthrown by 20 fucking yards by by Justin Fields on one play it seems it seemed to me like Pickens was was open majority of the game and was just not on the same level on the same on the same playing field it seemed like then with Justin Fields this had to be a good feeling for Russell Wilson being a ex Bronco and seeing his team win and him being on the sidelines seeing the struggles of a first year quarterback for the Broncos I don't know if it's a part of me saw him you know wishing you know hey guys you wish you had me now huh it kind of had that that kind of taste yeah he could he was probably thinking himself I could have beat this team I know I could have but anyways know as you hear it kind of comes alive in this look in this game it's kind of a a a point that you could see that this team is looking forward to uh it kind of sparked them a little bit only at 69 69 yards off of 17 17 carries Pat Fryer moods was uh Justin Fields best target today four receptions 39 yards yeah this game was just sloppy dog uh Justin Fields doesn't seem like the old self take that for what you what you want I don't know if that's uh good or bad thing 13 to 27 117 yards one teddy this was his piss poor 13 to 6 affair I hope both these teams get better though they will they will the games should get better as far as breaking them down the Bears and Texans obviously in a great one right now but the last game we're going to talk about is the bangles at the Chiefs the Chiefs get a home victory by 1.26 25 they squeak away with a victory how do they keep doing this shit yeah well I mean I'm sure there's going to be a lot of people complaining about the rest yeah the bangles stopped them on a fourth down attempt and there was a late flag now if you go back and look at the replay I think it's pretty clear that it was there was contact yeah the flag should have been thrown but the fact that it was late is a little bit like oh wow no okay crowd booing you okay making noise and yeah so obviously I have to put my foot down on on the whole late flag thing me being a referee let me just tell you there is no such thing as a late flag okay a late flag is a evaluated flag a flag of where if it does come in late that guy is processing so much you guys don't realize what goes on every play where you got to look who's blocking who where is the ball in relation to all this yeah that flag motto came in late but like I said so many things are going through his head like is this really a flout foul what we're what we're taught at you know from the very first day you want to get talked out of a flag we don't want to fucking dictate a dictate a game you don't want to insert yourself into the ball exactly if you don't have to I I would love to not fucking throw this goddamn flag but it's when you break the rules I got to do my job okay but that being said the flag is in your pants yeah it's halfway in my pants and then I have the the rocks and shit ow I have the rocks and shit that are tied into it hanging out so I can easily so are you I'm aiming for the spot that I saw the flag it depends I want to really throw it hype in the air make it a visual type it depends it depends if it's a spot felt I've got to really dart that some bitch which I got some kudos on from you know when in the the award when they were making this speech oh my goodness Jalen Petrie just absolutely rocked the undershot I apologize no no no that was worth it that was a 13 30 quarter if you want to go back and check it out yourself it was an absolute lick but yeah continue on yeah yeah uh long story short I got some props over damn he laid the wood but I got some props over my position of the flags okay was one of the reasons why I got the word anyways it depends on what the what the call is if it's a personal foul I'm definitely making people notice my flag that I've got to play or I've got a flag on this stupid motherfucker that did something wrong Williams evades the sack and it's it ends up getting intercepted but man a great play yeah he's doing that was beautiful I guess sex it's just their night you know good luck beating him on this night but continue on I apologize no no no uh yeah but that being said yet a late flag is one of the best flags you probably want in your game because that is probably one of the most calculated flags unless it's on your team then it's like yeah I don't give a fuck how right it was we're evaluating that's always gonna be though I know exactly what you're saying you're right they're the way to you know stand up for the ref community always make you think of voice because they don't really get the voice like that but uh Patrick Mahomes you do two interceptions this game that's really a big reason why the Chiefs were you know kind of staying I guess out of the you know pulling away from what they normally do in these games or they're able to not kind of have to sweat them out towards the end but the Bengals have a tendency of making these games tight Pacheco had 90 yards off 19 carries but he did roll up his ankle late in the game and hopefully that won't be anything too serious yeah the injury bug was all out today Joe Burrow threw for over 250 and two touchdowns they got right over 70 yards rushing collectively from Zack Moss Chase Brown and Joe Burrow Chase Brown probably had the most efficient day running for four for 31 Zack Moss had 12 for 34 which I expected more out of Moss I'm really hoping he has a big year for Cincinnati I liked him coming out of Utah mm-hmm and then Mike Gasecki seven for 91 he led the team Jamar Chase four for 35 he got kind of frustrated with one of the players I think Trent McDuffey they were kind of pushing and shoving tomorrow Joe Burrow had to kind of separate him a little bit he's a pest man you can just tell you can just tell that you know she doesn't all sunshine and rainbows for the Cincinnati Bengals right now they start 0 and 2 that's tough and the Falcons might be right there with them tomorrow night but man I could tell you right now we've been there before and it's definitely not a great place to be I think the last 0 and 2 team to make it to the Super Bowl was uh don't quote me quote me on this but I think it was like 1972 you know the Cowboys did it in like 93 94 when the Red Miss Smith held out was that they went 0 and 2 yeah they started 0 and 2 and then Smith got that contract that he held out oh yeah we just went over it and said we got a rookie running back and almost hit Jerry Jones we just talked about this we just talked about nonetheless yeah the Bengals they start 0 and 2 Chiefs moved to 2 and 0 and no one's going to remember how close the game is where they're only going to remember that they want them that's that's the absolute facts right there spitting facts but that does it for Terry and I here on the week 2 review here on the football function podcast thank
