Listen back to Paul Cooney, Barry Ferguson and Peter Grant as they talk all things Scottish football.

This is the Goradio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcasts. Call 08, 08 at 17, 17, 700. Well, what a weekend wins for Celtic and Rangers. Whether we have penalty reviews, red cards that weren't. Celtic match a pre-war record. Two teams with maximum points, they're not both from Glasgow. And the Rangers' new boys grind out a result, which is what Baddy Ferguson was calling for on Friday. Bader Grant is here, along with Baddy. We're going to take your calls. 08, 08, 17, 17, 700 after a weekend. Well, Aberdeen 2-1 wins against Motherful. Celtic 2-0 against Harts. Hibbs get the first win. 2-0 against St. Johnson. Ross County, yep. 2-0 against Dundee. Dundee's first loss. And St. Marin 2. Come on at 2. A crazy game. And did you see what was going on with the referee? Tough one. Then yesterday, 12 o'clock, Rangers winning. 1-0 at Dundee United. Tom Lawrence, the scorer. 08, 08, 17, 17, 700. Baddy, first love. The news came on Saturday, that Rangers chairman John Bennett standing down through health reasons. And I know we'd want to wish him all the very best in the recovery. Yeah, it was about a surprise, Paul, when I heard the news. But the most important thing, he gets back to good health. So, yeah, I wish him a speed of recovery. He's come in in the last year, so he's put a fair bit of money into the club. But when I heard the news, my first thoughts were, I just hope he gets back to good health, as I said. Now, John Gilligan's command is acting chairman. John knows the club. Inside out, he was there previous. And I'm sure he'll do a good job until a new chairman is going to be announced. Yeah, John, formerly the boss at tenants. You know, that group, they're a great guy. Have you known for a long time, Paul? Passionate Rangers, man. And I think it's a very good appointment until they get the new chairman in place. And he, of course, was in with Dave King. At the time they took over from my cash, along with Paul Murray. Peter, it's goals that count, isn't it? It's results, but Rangers have been under the course. But they'll be back in this weekend. Celtic meantime, continue chopping the table, joint with Aberdeen, but better goal difference. And a good win against Hartz. Yeah, it was a good win. I thought it was very comfortable. Paul and Celtic didn't play their best. I mean, they've played better in other games. And there's no doubt in my mind of that. Hartz were very, very disappointed, especially first half. I thought they were really poor. And they came there in the first half and sat really, really deep. Now, they're that deep that even the strikers were in the final third defending, you know. One of the times when it won Shanklam was he's own 18 yard box. Matching someone's run. And I know you've got to put the hard work in, but if you're trying to get back out, then if you win the ballback, you've nobody to play with. And they tried to obviously win the ballback and hit vargass with pace, but it just didn't happen to first half. It finished a period, maybe a five, ten minute period in the second. And you thought, OK, they're having a wee bit of a go here. But I thought it was really disappointing. If he harps, you can see why they're having the results. I know it's difficult going to Celtic Park. And you're staying at as long as we're possible. But if penalty kicks, situations arise and that could have changed it, because Celtic was so dominant that I sure the penalty kicks, satiation was at no mil at the harps was claiming a boot. But we'll talk about that obviously in the programme. And two of the new boys getting the goals. What did you make of the 11 million pound man with the penalty? I'll tell you what, he'd no fear, did he? No, absolutely not. But I was saying at the time, Calum and Hatici obviously was, Calum was not the peacemaker because Hatici accepted it. But if I was Hatici, there was no way, but he had one care if he just arrived. But to be fair, he angles up his excellent on the day and he tennis penalty very well. And look, my count. I mean, what a period for him. Celtic fans, what are you thinking? O8, O8, 17, 17, 100? And you know what? You're only what 40 hours away from the Champions League. James will need to get that music out soon. Barry loves that music. He'd love his old team to be there. They're not, they're in Europa League against teams. That could well be there. Well, the headlines though, Barry, we know, the comeback king. Everyone talking about it, Dave King. The biggest shareholder, 14 to 15% in Rangers. Not controlling share obviously. But he's been speaking today to Jim White on talk sport this morning. And Jim has given us some of the audio, which is really good stuff with Dave King speaking out for the first time about it. First of all, he spoke about John Bennett, whom he gets on well with. We know there's, you know, there was a split in the board. He left the board then. This is what he said about John. What I've done is I've made myself available and the reasons for that, are that, you know, as much as it was unsurprising for me, that John stepped down because I've been in a fairly regular contact with him. And I really do completely understand the stress of feeling and the impact of being the chairman of Rangers at this point. And it's been, I don't want him. You know, I just hope he's well. And I just hope that he has stepped down. He can recover himself and get back to normal. Because I do know how tough it is being a chairman of Rangers at any time. And then, particularly in this difficult situation. But I haven't seen John stepping down under normal circumstances. I would expect someone else to step up, you know, someone from the board. And when I have the sport, the board of decides you to do is, just kind of go outside and get a headhunter, you know, and try and get a chairman, a CEO. You know, the job at Rangers is very, very different from trading at public company or, you know, right now, the brothers and crisis, they stand tall. That I don't know. And only those inside do know that certainly the operational issues within Rangers are a challenge. A lot of the policy procedures and processes that were in place at the time that I stepped down, I've been hollowed out during Douglas's reign. And I thought, you know, if Norman is going to step up and we're going to have to go to some external city type appointment, which I'm absolutely certain, though, we're not here to clock forwards. Barry, he was there for a long time, controversial figure, Dave King. Do you think he said he would want to come in for two years, maybe, and sort things out? Yeah, I've seen that it wouldn't be a long-term plan. At this moment in time, John Gilligan is stepped in, Paul. So we're just going to see over the coming weeks what's going to arise from, obviously, John Bennett's stepped down for health reasons. But what I do know is Rangers do need a chairman in place pretty soon and a CEO. They're the two most important people at the club. So I'm sure while John stepped in on a caretaker basis, that'll be one of his main priorities, Paul, to make sure that Rangers get the right man to take them forward. He was asked by Jim on talk sport this morning. What does he think the club needs? It requires someone to go in there, find out what's actually going on. I mean, at the moment, I don't think most of the board members will get an idea what's going on because they're sort of more from the business. But I think John is taking on a very, very heavy burden. He's taking his toll on him. He's done it with enthusiasm. He's done it with loyalty. He's done it with passion. I mean, John is a great Rangers man. It's a great damage to his health. And he's got to look after himself first. The question is now he has gone. We know there's still no CEO. There's no operational management. There's no leadership at all. Can we take the time to, first of all, get a recruitment agency to go and try and find a treatment in the CEO? That'll take months. It will cost hundreds of thousands of pounds, which would rather be spent on the team, quite frankly. And I don't think we have that time, and I don't think bringing in someone with our institutional experience and an understanding of Rangers and understanding of Glasgow is going to give us a short term turnaround. So I think the turnaround becomes a longer turnaround. And then my fear starts to become as a fan, not a question of stopping 10 or less from a previous objective. But right now, the one thing they do hang on to is they're still the most successful club in the world. And if we sit too long, then we might lose that on there as well. Barry is a Rangers legend, but is a Rangers fan? How do you feel? You must be worried that the club needs this stability. Yeah. Well, listen, first and foremost, I was shortly out of everybody, obviously, the news and Saturday. But yeah, just listening to Dave King there, speaking. Yeah, Rangers, it's not a case that you can wait months, Paul. I think this needs to get sorted pretty quickly. Because it's a role within a club that's the most important, the leader at the club. And that's a chairman, and then just underneath him, as well as a CEO who Rangers have been without since James Bizgrove left. I don't know what three or four months ago. So there's still been no appointment there. So in the coming weeks, Paul, I feel like spare Rangers to have some day. And I'm a big believer. And it has to be some that's what in the industry before, but also has a connection. I think that's important. Isn't that important? I do think it's important. Why? I just do. That's my belief. He, Dave King feels the same. He said, there's no point going outside to people who don't know about the club. He was asked though by Jim, what about Graham soon as the other week after the Celtic defeat? And Graham said, he didn't think there was much between the big two. What does he feel? I've got the utmost respect for Graham. And he knows a lot more about football than I do. But I think there's a very significant gap on the pitch and off the pitch at the moment between ourselves and Celtic. So Peter, I'll bring you in at this point. I mean, that's a side show almost. Everyone's got great respect for Graham, but just after the Celtic game, he'd seem to think there wasn't much between it. Well, we said that at the same, I thought it was a really poor interview that Graham gave. I can understand the reason behind it. He's trying to keep the Rangers fans on the side and galvanize and take a little bit of pressure away. But there's a different way to do that. And I listened to Dave King's interview today. And listen, he seems very passionate about Rangers, but obviously there must be an issue in the background because someone who speaks the way he did was, and he knew everything had been on prior and how well he'd organized a bit of a crewman he plays in, he seemed to know everything. And I'm looking at it and think, well, why would you not have him there, especially in a situation like this? I don't know the guy whatsoever. He even used the old neighbors instead of Celtic in any state, in any corrected, at the same Celtic soil, you know, using the name. So the old sound bites are still there. So what you have to be careful is he wants to get in there, but he was talking about the recruitment, he was talking about the results, he was talking about the players performance, he was talking about the manager. He's never had spoke to him. I don't think if I correct the one-to-one. And that was been the first person he said he was likely to speak to. What he said on that about, what did he feel about Philip Clemon? I have never met him. So I've never spoken to him and it would be inappropriate for me to speak to him. But it certainly would be the very, very cut first conversation I would have if I went in and try not to stand where he's coming from, what was promised to him, where he's feeling about things right now, where he feels he needs support, what he needs, you know, to get the backing. So certainly it would be a very positive discussion to see where he is and see where he feels and see it he's up for the obvious challenge we will have over the next couple of years, because it will be a challenge. And some of the decisions has been my previous tenure may not always be popular and they'll always be done in the interest of getting rendered back to where I certainly as a supporter also as an investor would like to see them. I think when I was listening to the film, when he was talking about Clemon and he was talking about the interviews, what we said last week, I thought he's interviewed since the EC game wasn't a very good at all. It was probably an understatement. And I think that's what the chairman, obviously, Dave King, I'm talking about here, he was talking about at that particular time, he was talking, we said, some of the interviews that come out, I don't understand who's been feeding that, because I'm talking as a ranger supporter, he says, and he doesn't want to be told these things because they're not the right way. And I can sense that though, even if they've been telling Clemon, he'd be a few minutes, come on saying six, nothing was their best result in four years or five years or six years, these things. And that's what rangers have got to get away from. It's all about beating Celtic for them, and it's all about Celtic beating Rangers and being in front of Rangers. That is the challenge. It used to be Aberdeen and that and about that, but now it's Celtic and Rangers. And Celtic have got to be above Rangers, and if you finish above Rangers, they'll win the league. That's as simple as that. That's the way, is it? This moment in terms of two are so far in front, well, especially Celtic are so far in front of this moment in a bit of catastrophe. They don't win the league because of the situation financially, they're so strong, their team is so strong, they're scored so strong. And that's what's worrying, Rangers fans, the golf. Here's what he said, final piece from him this morning, on top sport, he said, Jim Aston, what would you do if you were back on the board for this two-year period? I would like to invite him, it wasn't my intention, but it would be my intention now to come back. So I think it does need someone to come in quickly and each someone with institutional experience, I'm not an outsider, I don't think it's going to spend months or whatever, trying to get his arms around department. And it's something to come in quickly. And I think there's two major objectives. The one is to reintroduce the operational policies, control procedures, processes that have gone missing over the last couple of years and get described up to speed there. And secondly, to find a new investor, so I would imagine if I can say for the two-year period, is it going to come out as thinking of I can first of all get a club up and running properly and have a proper plan going forward just to how we're going to break the gap now. I've got no idea what I'll find. When I go in there, but hopefully it's not as bad as it was when I went in years ago. Keith Jackson had a great line about this this morning and the record in his column. He said about Dave King, if it means a return to the days when he would start a fight in an empty blue room, then it'll be a regression. The club would be better off avoiding that he himself stood down following a better fallout with his successor, the former chairman Douglas Park, who's also put a lot of money into the club, points to the residual bad bloods, which caused Bennett so many difficulties. So it's a kind of family at war, Barry. I mean, it's difficult, it's political. He did say there are interesting investment and that is clear. I've just about to say that it is clear that they need to find an investor and where that investor is, whether it's from Britain, whether it's from abroad, who knows, but that's the role when a new chairman and CEO come in. They need to try and find new, fresh investment to help push the club to go forward. That money could be from America because apparently Douglas Park wasn't keen to take it. Remember a year or two ago with folks, a woman in front with- Can you folks? Yeah, I think so. But listen, that's internal, or it could be from the Middle East. We'll find out what the fans want to know is, went to wish John Bennett, of course, all the very best. It shows you the strength. I was just thinking the Celtic chairman a few weeks ago, Celtic, you know, loving, high at the moment, but John Bennett didn't get this, but he was verbally abused, you know, at the game a few weeks ago. It's pretty tough, isn't it, at the top of a football club and Celtic doing so well, but somebody had a goal at Peter Lawwell and it ranged at the pressure, but it must be, you've been captain of that club to be chairman. Yes, it was huge, your pressure in top of your everything, the expectations, the demands of the full club. And it's no nice when you see it when it affects somebody's health pool. And clearly it has done that with the chairman, John Bennett, and that's the reason why he's had to step down. But now Rangers need to refocus and regroup and try and get a new chairman in place. As I said, John Gilligan, I know him, you know him, yourself, Paul, a lot of people know what he's all about. And I think he's a good sounding board at his moment in time to make sure they get the next appointment spot on. Oh, eight, oh, eight, seventeen, seventeen, 700 Rangers fans, what you're thinking, it's all about results in the park, but there's a, you know, there's a golf at the moment that you hear Dave King there admitting it. He was speaking, Paul, even about recruitment of players. I was listening, as I say, the full, he thinks that it's all changed, and as if it's all been bined, and they'd put that in play, in place. And you have to be very, very careful, you know, he'd do that. If you're putting something, he'd say, "This is where we're going to go, whether it's players." The way he was talking, and I'm only going, maybe I'm 100% wrong, is if the players are coming for everywhere, but they don't really know. So there's not as if, or we've looked at this, I've done it this way, I've done it that, as any thought-prose behind it. And maybe the fact that Popper's coming in at 30 years of age, is it bad? I'm not sure, as you, they want people to come in at that age, or they want young ones so they can sell on, that was maybe something they'd put in place. I don't know, but it was very, very hard hitting on it. You know, and it's all right, Keith Jackson, that's saying we start a fine empty house. Let me tell you, the Rangers fans, if he starts a fine empty house, and it makes Rangers successful in their eyes and gets them back on an even kill again, nobody'll be interested, they'll all be lauding them, because it's all about catching Celtic, which is going to be very, very, very difficult for them at any time, because Celtic are so far in front, on and off the pitch. You know, yes on the pitch, in one match, you can get a result, of course you can, but over the period of time, and you need someone in an aggregate with them, and I'd say the exact same itself, that you've got to have people know the demands that come working at a club like Celtic Rangers. One thing I'm sure about, is it's going to be an interest in the next couple of weeks. As I said, just join these to come in, instead of the ship, John Gilligan, that's what he's there to do. And then, obviously, I'm sure there'll be a hell of a lot of work going in the background to make sure Rangers come to the right solution, in terms of who's going to be the leaders at the club. Shall we talk football as well? For the actual game? Thanks, Jim, with that as well. Jim's great with us, comes on, and I've said, here's the audio, so good for him. Let's hear Brendan Rogers. A record was broken yesterday on March, come back to 1906, 1907, Peter. I wasn't playing that. You sure? No, I'm not. He's Brendan Rogers, five wins, five clean cheats. Well, it's a great record to achieve, because I think it's, I think, defending always tells you about the mentality of the team. And I said to the players beforehand that, you know, make sure we show up in the game, and that's not complicated. But also, there's a record there to go for. You know, it's 60-odd-thousand people in this stadium today that have never felt that. And they're apart of history today, sat there, and the team keeping the clean cheats. So I think it tells you everything about the mentality, the spirit, the togetherness, the unity of the team, and how well they're working and playing at the moment. Peter. Well, Hart's had one chance, Paul, and it's across late in the game, and it was equal ice, and Kasper Schmeko was in a very good positional play from him, because he moved his feet well, and the boy didn't really connect it and caught it on the line. So that kept that clean sheet, but it also tells you what a top quality goalkeeper is. And I keep saying that a bit goalkeeper for Celtic Rangers. They'll always have a moment in the game. Celtic was so dominant, you know, and you know what it's like when you lose a goal. He'd end up losing two points from it. So I think he was right here at the right time, and it's a fantastic achievement in these guys, because I thought it scales and character figures, but I thought it scales especially with his excellent. When his head does long throws, we're coming in the box, and his positional play was excellent in the game. So they deserved a great credit there to the centre backs as well, because it's not easy to play 1v1 all the time. You know, when you're a defender and you're getting left isolated because so many throwbacks are forward as often nowadays. So great credit to the two as well. Barry, two weeks ago, if I'd said to you, look, my cow, and what a goal from him. You'd say, yeah, Dundee, is it Celtic? Any scores? Yeah, and I think he deserved a move, Paul, with the form that the young man, well, young man, he's 26 years of age. But the form that he showed last season for Dundee, I thought he was a standout. And I think for a million pound, I think that's a real good bit of business. And listen, you put on in Friday, we heard them doing that. Of you, it sounds to me if he's going to go in there and give it his best shot, and that's all you can do. Go in there, train us hard this possible, and try and force your way into a really strong area for Celtic, the midfield. Matt's been on. Peter, what did you think of then? Who impressed you on the day? That's your skills. I thought it was excellent. I thought it done well. The Angle's done really well. The Callum was Callum McGregor. He plays a position so well, and it allows the other ones to move and run about him. I thought Greg Taylor again, you know? Listen, I've seen Celtic play better this season, you know? But I don't know if that was doing your hearts, because hearts were so deep. It was a tight V defense, especially the first half, you know? And they didn't come out and Celtic had tried and didn't trick it stuff. And I felt like it should have went outside a few more times than they did. Anytime they went outside, he'll go to a brilliant chance. Greg Gordon was a couple of great saves, you know? He couldn't put him through and goal, and he should have scored, and he's put it by the post, and it should have been more comfortable. But I think Celtic team is going to be based on the team. They know they've got good players within it. Look, McGregor, and even for his goal, he started it. He started it by getting the ball, winning the ball, nicking the ball, making the pass, and then following the play up. And it's a great finish, because it's not his strongest foot. You know, maybe Greg Gordon will think he should have maybe done better, but he gets such a big hand on it. But it's a great finish for him, and it's not feeling - I'll never leave him. That's probably his ultimate playing at Celtic part, being a Celtic support on score now goal. What a fantastic feeling it was for him. More from Brendan Rodgers shortly. Where are they penalties? What did you think? Barry's got a view as well, and also Rangers were going to hear from Philip Clemonne. They won yesterday, they go third top of the table. Celtic and Aberdeen at the top, Celtic better goal difference, and Rangers now third. Right calls next, 0.8, 0.8, 17, 17, 700. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcasts. Let's go! Go Radio Football Show, Paul Cooney, Barry Ferguson, and Peter Grant, good weekend, banner away from the football in general. Yeah, good weekend, Paul. It was just out and about, where the message and a few friends, relax, just enjoying myself as you do, and then obviously watch the Rangers game in Sunday. So, yeah, a nice weekend on screen one in Ferguson cinemas there. You and Peter as well, yeah, we know you're on Celtic TV, for the Celtic game. What else? What do you do away from football? Watch football. That's what you do, Paul. That's all I did, and that's exactly what happens. You know, you get all the time and set, you know, you take one and say, well, watch that later after this one finishes, so halfway between. So, you make sure you see them all. It's the whole gap. I do record that on this. Oh, yeah. Anyway, Peter, I've got a pad in silver in Richmond. What went down south? They are all talking about there. What's London, Derby and all the rest, but all talking about Ange is the honeymoon period over. We know two-nil defeats at home to Arsenal. He was interviewed afterwards, and he said, "No, no, I'm not that I normally win. I will win a trophy this season." So, what do you think? The selfie fans absolutely love, and I don't like the chat with some of the commentators, you know, about her leak. I heard some of those at Jamie O'Hara, talking about Tin Pot League or something. None of us like that. Peter, what do you think? Well, I walked with Jamie. So, Jamie's got to be careful, you know what I mean? So, in that respect. So, he talks very good game. For himself. Yeah, absolutely. So, all of a sudden, I heard them a few weeks ago, telling her how good Ange was, and that's what I'm saying. You have to be careful with Paul. You've got to see the pro-doctoral in the pitch. What they're trying to do, everybody was raving about it. It was a breath of fresh air. When you don't get results, of course, I think it's 3-12, they've not won in-prem, your league games. I don't know if there's draws in there as well. But then, when it was 10 or something last year, when they went to first 10 or 11 games without getting defeated, you know? Listen, it was a breath of fresh air. It was completely different. The seasons just started. We understand that, taught them our big club eyes, and financially, probably one of the best stadiums in the world. All these things that go along with that. But I'm telling you, there's some delay Ange post to Kogaloo, compared to some of the guys that's been taught. I know, I've not been disrespectful. Jamie Harrow, with Nissini's team, you know what I mean? So, that's what I mean, because you couldn't play with that energy. The thing is, you've got to get players coming in there. Madison's such a good player, but it's fine in that area for him, you know? Because, it's not him, because of the rest of the boys around the bottom, make these runs. But forget that, the one goal, and I must disagree with Gary Neville on this, he was saying the goalkeepers got to come. There was four people around the bottom. I think they marked Ridiculous Now. Another day, they defended with the mark on the outside, not the inside. So, if you're marching outside, the fingers go ahead the ball away. Because of Martin, they said the goalkeepers are pushing his own defenders, but it's not you doin' him. It's the centre back who Macey said is the best centre back in the world, lets his man go and just nod the ball straight in the net. If you had a grip and swing in corner, that's not the manager's fault. Doesn't matter what you, that's taking responsibility. Barry will tell you set up things, and you're pulling your hair out, because you know that's their job. And the manager's not going to come out and, well, I'm best at individual. No, I can guarantee you, behind the scenes of Obie. Is he going to ride the storm, do you think? Yes, he is. Good. Barry. Yeah, I'm just this 10-port league thing. It was something like that you said. Ah, or whatever, it's an up-pier to play. Unless you're an up-pier to play and try it. And I'm not saying it's a best quality up here, but listen, it's a tough place to play. Barry, you used to never get my kick. I remember you playing against them in the back. It's my kick, is that right? Yeah, I'll talk for them, because he never gave him a kick. Go on, keep going. You know what I mean? Not bad. That's the problem. You get too much to see. Clown. And it's easy. You know, it's easy to do that. It just interests me. Absolutely. Look, I know we're gaming. I'm not going to sit here and say, well, that's where loads are quality and unbelievable players, but it's a tough league to play an up-pier. And seeing people criticise it, it cracks me up. I don't like hearing that. And he said, I think it's disrespectful. It is. He was disrespectful to Arsenal before, and he said, we're going to work this. He's entitled to it. We're going to put them. Put them? What does that mean? But anyway, that's not a bit of him. It's not a bit of him, but he's going to turn it round. Of course, yeah, because that's just up here. You know how tough it is, Paul? Yeah, everyone of these teams now are so financially so strong, and they've got top-quality players. But there's absolutely no doubt in that. Solanki, Barry and Michelle, and that was spoken. I really like him as a player. But it's a difficulty, as you're saying, it's a hell of a lot of money to play for someone who likes to come short. He's missed a few chances. He's in good areas. What's really hard for the team, but he's not an... I don't think he's not a 30-goal this season. He's not a Harry Kane. If Harry Kane was playing on this team, see what Andrew's saying about winning trophies. I've been near enough, say, I would go along and say I'd guarantee out of the three he would win one of them, because I think if you've got a striker like Harry Kane, but the chances they create, then there's a difference. Of course, it's up against Michael Arteta. What a start to the season for your old team mate. Yeah, and you've signed a new long-term contract. Paul, the obvious I like, the work that he's doing. Much of zone. And no doubt listening, he got, again, so close, but he has, you can see, he's brought the club on, and the team on made another good few signings in the summer. But in terms of his hands, Paul's the goagler. I think some of the flak that he's getting is a bit overboard. I've been honest with you, and I still think Tottenham will be fine. No, they're certainly top six team, Tottenham. While they win a trophy, he's putting himself under pressure, but then that tells me he's got a belief in his ability that he can produce a trophy for Spurs, but Timo, too, but Arsenal look strong. They do, they look strong again. Back up here, then, top of the table, Celtic and Aberdeen. Aberdeen started brilliantly, and Rangers then moving up into third spot. That was the big game yesterday at lunchtime. Here's Philippe Clamong afterwards. Barry was calling for it. Maybe some of the changes. There's Rami, for example, and you saw him. He didn't start. But here's what the manager felt about the 19 minutes. Because it's a team in a really good dynamic. They got the points that they deserve until now, and they did it really well. So it's a hard place to come to. But also, of course, that we are integrating a lot of new players, and some are here a few weeks, and they're getting better and better. Like the F days, like the proppers, some come out of a long-term injury, like Oscar Cortes getting minutes, and some are brand new, like Nadim, Bajrami, and Hamza. And it's important that they feel with their qualities, they can help the team. And of course, also, with the rest of the team to the guys who were here last season. I didn't speak about Connor Barry yet. He's also not so long in the building. So there's a lot of new things. Of course, we still make more mistakes than we will make in one year, or in two years, with this squad. But it's getting better and better, and that's what people see. Barry, first up, 1-0, when that's what you wanted. Yep, I thought it was a very good start, the Rangers. And then I just thought that they took their foot off of the gas. I thought Dunya needed by there for the taking. They sat so deep. I was really surprised with the way that Dunya needed to approach the game. Obviously, Jim made the change. I think we 10 minutes to go to halftime. It made Dunya needed that bit better, but I don't think they really rattled Rangers at any time. And look, could their performance been better? Yep, 100%. But look, the most important thing is that I says, we're just getting back to winning ways and coming back down the roadway with three points. And that happened. There was a few good performances. I thought Yefti, again, is now starting to motor a wee bit. He's showing Eagle Army. Up top, come on the last 20 minutes, and showed the bit of grit, the termination, good bit of skill. So there was some good, really, really good performance. He's John Sutter at the back. I thought it was solid. So look, could that have been better? Yes, 100%. But the most important thing was getting the three points, Paul. Tom Lawrence took his goal really well. Yep, and Tom shows in glimpses and games that he's got there. He's got the ability. I just want to see it more, because there is a player in there. I think he could have had the hard trick. I've been honest with you. But listen, he gets a slice a lot, because it ricochets when he's gone through. But listen, a beautiful finish to go. One-nothing up after seven minutes. And then at that stage, I don't think, done the United fretting at any stage, which I'm getting back to when I went to town edition. You were in for a real tough one in it. I think if you listen to Jim's interview after the game, he's open, honest, and says that it wasn't enough and arrangers deserve to win and get the three points. But as I said, Paul, who cares how you play? He's getting away from home at times. It's a bonus at this moment in time. Three points in the bag and then down the road. Harry's been on the ride just fine on the socials that go football show saying, "Barry, we wanted to see Bizrami. See more of him." I mean, I know you saw it. Yeah, come on, the left hand side. You played these interview in Friday. He likes the number 10 position. He says he can play in that left hand. But you see he's not as comfortable when I've watched him for Algeria and the collapses that I've seen of him. He looks better in the middle of the pitch. But Tom Lones was having a decent game. So I've been testing. He's going forward. But again, it's 10.5 million euros. It's a lot of money that Rangers have spent on him. But listen, there's positives, as I said, that a lot of decent performances from new players coming in. It's just now about making sure does that level a consistency going forward? Rangers winning 1-0 yesterday back on that. In a moment or two, lots of calls backing up on 0-8, 0-8, 17-17-1700. Let's go to Regan on the line. Good evening, Regan. Paul, it's good feeling. Thank you for having me on again. Good to hear you. What's your point tonight, Regan? I just want to talk about something fourth in the play. Great football again. I think Brendan Rogers, I think he deserves a lot of creative power. I'm really there. I think he's looking to start to the season as well. I think also he's got a great backing from the ball as well. So I'm pretty happy, Paul. I just wanted to ask you guys in terms of what seems to be the record in European football. Still to come up on a knock-out match since 2003-04. So do you think this is something that they can try and do this season now? Obviously, I think they'll go on to win the league by probably 12 points, Paul, but I just think now that Brendan Rogers is here, I think he wants to make a mark in European football. Peter? Hi, Regan. I think it's important now because probably people are saying that he could have handpicked a draw, it was probably the perfect draw, as a big opportunity. But as Barry will probably say as well, I'm not speaking for him in that respect, what you have to go out and perform. We've all went out there before thinking in European games and you get such a surprise because you don't realise how good some of the individuals are, who play for some of these European teams. And that's the only thing, and I know Brendan and his players the way they went about their business on the pitch, no matter who they've played, their attitude against the ball. That tells you enough about a good side that they weren't in what they're soaked off. I think the last two games they haven't played as well as the start of the season as in recising the first few games. Now, I think they're getting a European venture, it's new for some of them, but for these boys they go out there and what a big opportunity is Brendan talks about making histories and getting results. This is another thing they can do, they go out there, obviously they clean sheet one in Saturday, this is another opportunity when a European game, so this will be the things that's getting through these players and that's what they're determined to do. They've got the qualities to do, they're the performances, but I don't know enough about the opposition to say yes, it's set in stone because when it's a real, I'm a dread, a Barcelona, whatever, you always know what's coming. When it's like say Bratislava and whatever, I'm always a little bit more concerned about that because sometimes we can get sucked in there. I just support us, I'm not talking about the players of Brendan, I'm talking about other supporters. Barry, what are you thinking? One thing about Bratislava is they'll have some tasty players, technically really good. I don't think it'll be easy. I think not knowing too much about them, Celtic should have too much on the night, but it's not going to be easy. It's not going to be easy. A lot of these teams have got unknown guys that you don't know too much about, but I mean, you come up against them and I've done it myself and I'm sure Grant has as well. You think to yourself, these are good players and you're in the Champions League, sorry for a reason because you've got good players and a good team, so I do think it'll have too much for them, but I don't think it'll be as easy as people are and maybe making out. Well, that's the thing because Bratislava early, we don't know what their league is like, and their league will not be financially one of the biggest and best. Same as early, apart from the big two, and that's probably what we'll have with Bratislava as well. You know, they were one of the strongest teams, but then the vigils are the ones that concern you. I've been there, I go back to Noisha Telzamax, off-cave, it was away from home, but we never knew, we respect to them as a group of players, but we never thought we'd get taught over the way we did. We never knew the players, one scored four, I think against it, it was a set of twins, and one of them scored four in that particular night, but that's the things that can happen if you don't do your homework, but I'm sure Cedric have done that. The players seem to be really on the cusp of something itself, because you see at this moment in time, they've got real good quality, and the thing that keeps pushing them more than anything else is not the opponents are playing, as I've spoken about many times on here, as the players that's coming in, angles comes in the other day and done really well, but Bratislava, Nado, didn't deserve to be left out, but I can understand that he's in the way. He played thirsty, didn't he? Yeah, he played late on, so I understand that, but that is the biggest thing, Celtic have got there, and that is probably the greatest strength at this moment in time, that that's the thing that will keep them sparked up. Reagan, what did you make of Arnie Engels? I thought it was okay Paul, probably just called a great chance to pass off, he was a great save by Craig as well, so no, I think you did okay Paul, first game, but I'm just glad that they still took a final round, somebody that can take a penalty, because that's something that's probably for the five years now. No, it's a very important point, it's penalty kicks, because especially on Europe, and Barrie will tell you as well Paul that the only Europe you get penalty kicks against you for somebody touching someone in the box, and the European teams are always wanting to go down, so sometimes the referees are going to be back quick with the whistle in the box, and it can be important. And so they were caught out the other year, remember? Absolutely, yeah, and these are the things, and these penalty kicks are so, so important, I mean people think penalty kicks are easy, they're not, I thought Engels was excellent all day, but I went 11-10, I sat a 5-0, and I was in number one choice, but there's no way he was getting that ball, I don't care if it's his debut. Barrie, penalties are easy, I mean, I'm talking to you about that, exactly, I'm talking to him a bit better. Don't waste his night, you have to understand that there's a lot of pressure, you're not going to be taking a penalty, the supporters inside the stadium expect you to put it away, and so yeah, he showed a bit of balls, you're going up and taking the penalty, that's for sure. Reagan, are you going to the match, and what's your score line Wednesday? Paul, be there, yeah, I'm going to see two, one, Paul, it's going to be a tight game. I think everybody's saying, I think people just say that, I think it's going to be very easy, but I don't think it'll be very difficult, because these teams in Europe are going to pull the OCR to go up and I think for them to do well, so I think it's going to be one, Paul. Other way, you can't underestimate these teams, because I tell you, if you do, you've been for a a shock and I wouldn't imagine Brendan Rogers, I think he'll be treating them with respect and letting the players know and they'll watch plenty of footage of them, and as I said, Paul, they'll have three or four players that can do you a bit of damage so you need to be careful on the night. This is the Good Radio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Good Radio Football Show, Paul Cooney, Peter Grant, and Barry Ferguson, both pretty happy, wins for the big two at the weekend. That's probably the first time it's happened. Is it the first time this season, the both won at the weekend, anyway, I shouldn't ask a question. I don't know where the engine is at, yeah. I keep rubbing on. Big win for Rangers at Tannadise keeps it two, five points going in with eight beforehand. No, I was going to ask Barry, being a midfield player, I thought Connor Barren's past and early in the game was excellent. He passed a ball in between now. That was his first thought every time he received a ball. He passed it really, really well, and he had a frick to Tom Lones, but I thought he was excellent like that because I thought he's been a bit sideways and whatever, but at the weekend. No, I had four or five. As I just said, when I'm watching Connor, listen, he's done brilliantly. I've got a bonus for you better than I thought, and that's me no being disrespectful, but I think a young man has come in and been doing a brilliant job. I just think sometimes he's still running about where he does and he needs to run about just some time. I just feel back here. He hasn't moved in the middle of the patch. Yeah, and listen, that might be, maybe, a tactic for the manager. I just think sometimes, just have your energy and sometimes you just need to stand stout and receivable. You don't need to move, but you're right. I thought the first 20 minutes he fired some brilliant balls, whether it was Dersa's or Tom Lones was picking up brilliant me pockets, and that's something that certainly impressed me. But the young man's done really well. It looks to me if he's got a brilliant attitude as well, and it looks to me. I don't know him personally, but the feeling I get is he's desperate to learn. And do you know what? That's all you can ask for. Reports come out that Hartson talks with Tony Bloom at Brighton about a 10 million pounds investment more on that shortly because Hart's bottom of the table, one point after five games. Killie on two, they got a point at the weekends in Johnson and three, top of the table, Celtic on 15, gold difference plus 14, Aberdeen, gold difference plus seven, Rangers on 10, gold difference plus five. Then Dundee and I to run eight points, Motherwell and seven lost, of course, at Aberdeen at the weekend. Dundee and six points, they lost their great records, losing at Ross County, St. Marin on five points. Jim Goodwin, I would imagine being disappointed to not take all the points. Head's got the first victory, five points, Ross County on five and St. Johnson on three. So on Celtic Hart's, quite a few people are on, Martin is asking, "What about the penalties? What did you feel?" Barry can I throw it to you first of all? So Hart, should it have been a penalty? No, I don't think two of them, should have been a penalty. Celtic as well, should have been. Yeah, I think it's very similar situations. It was only a yarder to between going Celtic ones when scale puts his hand up. I thought the referee got that correct, but I thought he got the second one wrong. Peter, what did you feel? The first one when it goes to Var, I think he's going to have a penalty kick. I think there's only one way he's going to come back in and say it's a penalty. But when I see an incident myself, the second time, at first, I'm thinking, "Well, is that a handball?" Because the distance I'm away from it. But when he's headed, it's a miss-headed bit, long shank, like actually. And it's came with it outside of Liam's skills. But Liam's skills are just tunt. But it's not as actually his hand. It's his arm between his sleeve. And remember, they're supposed to be this thing now. It's not a penalty kick if it's that part of his arm. So when I looked at it that way, but when he goes, as I said, when he went to Var, I thought, obviously the guy's upset, I said, "You better come and look at this as a penalty." And this is where my argument is, Paul. These guys should just be saying it, because they're training together as referees. It's a penalty kick, and it's not a penalty kick. Why waste all that time running over? So why do they? I don't know. I'm looking for that. How long was it that they've had to take? Well, at the end of the game, by the way, it's about eight minutes when it probably tells you enough. And that's where I think they should just shoot. It's a penalty of not. And if they get it wrong, everybody knows it's them. It's given the decision, not the referee on the pitch. And people keep making this, which goes, "Well, the referee's not refereeing on the pitch." Yeah, but it's two referees that sit in the stand. So why waste the time for the supporters and everybody else? Get them here on all the way over and then come back. So for me, when I looked at it, Paul, I didn't think it was shank. See, if it had been on target, I think he gives a penalty kick. See, because he's missheaded and going away for goal, and it's between the sleeve. It's easy not to give it. The other one I do think, when I've seen it the same time, at first, when you see the young boy pen raising his hands on his chest, and I'm thinking, "Well, maybe not going to a penalty." But when you see the second times, his hands are up high, and the outside he's head, so I think it is on the rules. Has he even couldn't? Has couldn't it's been down on it? Yes. Even he's crossing it, if you naturally, when you put your foot out, you block it, your arm comes. I think if you only put it on the side and put your leg out, that's unnatural for me. I think at your right, see if it's down at your hip, sort of thing, I think it's because it's outside his head, that's what I'm saying, the difference is, and that's where his hands are, is up here. See if I'm down low, I tend to give you. I think it's like, where do you go? It's like a slight tackle in the box, people say, "Don't go to group, but if you go to a slight tackle, you've got to put your hand somewhere to put it on the ground in the ball, and you see penalty kick." But they've changed the rules far too often. And the referee, I mean, will he call them in his programme last week? He said that the hand ball is the most difficult thing. Well, you think of the one Celtic got up against half/year, and it dropped out the sky, but the boy's not even facing it. So they get a penalty kick for that. So you can see why everybody's mixed up, no, what is a penalty? So for the first one, and I'm not saying it as a Celtic sport, I genuinely didn't think it was a penalty kick, but the second one, I know it as because, see if it's, I've seen it a first, I'd say, pen rush with Cinney's hands, where he's said his hands were out and they were up high, and that is the only problem he's got, because he were up high and they'd stop the ball going in. So I think it was a penalty. I think the referee got the decision right on both occasions, but I think that for last year, there is no doubt they give a penalty for the first one. Brendan Rogers afterwards. Yeah, there's always a worry when the decision goes against you, but I think when you actually look at it, I think the rules state clearly that if the ball hits the shoulder, I think it's coming in and lame as his arm out, but obviously that he's in a grapple with, with Lauren Shanklin, and the ball hits him high on the shoulder. So that's clearly not a penalty, but if you're, if your heart's, you're probably thinking it should be, but I think in terms of the rules, that was, yeah, that was correct. I think R1, I think it's clear when you see it, obviously, arms are up, if it's in a natural position, then that's, that's what that is, and the ball hits it, and then we get the penalty. So I think winning two now? Yeah, I don't think it's, you know, natural position? You know, I don't, the way players get down, naturally, I've just done it, I've put my foot out, that's what I would do, it'd block the ball. No, I think you're right, but I'm saying if he's done it, he's happening. I agree, but because his hands were up at his face and outside, he said, that's why I'm saying it's a penalty kick. I've lost it when you, you're seeing him, and he's saying all my hands were in here, because it was so far away. They were out to be fair. That's exactly right. I just think because of the height, they were a little bit close the way at each other as well. Yeah. I, I, I, I, I, like I said, I agree, I disagree or not, but I think it was a penalty. Jamie's on a big commandant fan, talking about the game 2-2. He said, but what was Sean Rooney clearly kicking the player on the ground? And did anything happen? No. No. I, I thought, I thought it was, I thought it was, I don't know if our players getting sent off, but for somebody just to draw the boot off, yeah? I'll tell you what, if I was one of the commandant players, it would have lasted probably five minutes, because I think it might have been the going chase number for you to kick one of your players and he managed to stay on the pitch. And that, that is the disappointing thing. When you see players getting sent off and decisions going against them, there's the frustration, you know, that's the frustration you get as a manager, even as players, because it's a ridiculous decision, he's lost the player, because he's only players who's involved again with Sean Rooney. This was after that incident, and I think he's, I think he's punched him because Derek says, obviously, you couldn't really see that on the television, but Derek's obviously saying he's two weeks' wages, he's getting friends, so obviously Derek thinks he's done something wrong, but Sean plays Sean Rooney as a player involved. Yeah. So he'd have been off the pitch, but then if the referee had done his job, so that, that lies the problem. Yeah. I, I just don't know it was going through his head. Oh, Sean Rooney, sometimes you could have a, a wee kick, but then it's the second one as well. It seems. Exactly. And do you know what? That's what I don't get, how, it was opposite Seapore, but I leave him standing. Yeah, I leave him standing there. There's hundreds of them. I don't know it's going through about Sean and his head at that stage. Absolutely crazy. Two, two at the end, what do you think? St. Merembi Modick, killing with delighted. Yeah. A point away from home. Yeah, and getting down to 10 minutes as well. So I'm sure Derek will be delighted at that. I guess they got a gold chalked off right at the desk as well, didn't they? Yeah, well, a high book. Yeah. So Derek was delighted. I was at eight decision and Derek was delighted at getting out the point, as you see, I think, but he's lost. It's not four players, four different games. He's at four players. And that is really difficult initially. Oh, wait, oh, wait, 17, 17, 700. We're going to have more from Philippe Clamon, Brendan Rodgers, too. Lots of your calls coming in. It's been quite a weekend. News is next. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen live weeknights from five on go. Let's go. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcasts. Call. Oh, wait. Oh, wait. It's 17, 17, 700. Let's go. Two with Barry and Peter Grant. Lots of calls coming in after a huge weekend. We should mention the championship as well. The Invincibles, Falkert, continue a big win for them against Adrian. Here in Partic Thistle, 1-1, Livingston, their loving life. They didn't want to go down, obviously, but they're doing well female against Akis. Queen's Parker win for them against Morton, and yeah, I'm filming. Friday night kicked it off. Tundell, they needed that win against three throwers. Someone who would be happy, I would think, with Rangers 1-0 win at Tannadise yesterday. Big Rangers fan, Paul. Paul, good evening. Good to hear you. What's in your mind about the game? Hi, guys. Yeah, no thanks for the win, you're sure. I deleted, I think. No, it was always going to be a tricky tie. No matter what, it was fun gaming things like that and the way it went, I think going to any place is paradise. It's always been a tricky venue over many years, so I listened. I thought some of that for States, we were anxious as we dominate teams for a period of time, and we could have put that second goal, and I think then we need to take a good of claps maybe, but I'm also level-headed, and I know the one I'm going to run over in the other game, 4-5-6-0 win with it against Ross County, so I think to give out that performance, if I can tie half over the 1-0, but I thought that's what we're going to see of the guy. I'll come to that in a second, Barry. That frustrated you a bit. Yeah, I can see Paul's frustration, I was the same. I'm sure Paul was happy with the start, Rangers made. They came out the traps, they were on the front foot, and I'm thinking to myself, once they got that goal from Tom Lawrence after seven minutes, I'm thinking they were there for their take, and you could see the trajectory done, they're really sat deep, and I just thought, right, going push on here. But obviously, they didn't, but as I said, Paul, the most important thing was that they ended. Look, could we have played better, certainly in the second half? Yes, did we have opportunities to make it easier to go two or three goals up? Yep, 100%, but the important thing was it was a long layoff, a couple of weeks after a heavy old firm defeat, and the most important thing for me was just making sure you get a three points in back down the road. I suspect Paul, you're on about the chairman, and who is going to come in. What do you feel? I always looked at my view pointing at Paul as that old battery thinks, you know, professional, the other more not, these things filter on to the pitch. You know, the fans are obviously what they have thought it's about, but it certainly has a filter on to the pitch, because when you've got uneasiness at the top level, like any business, it falters down to the people with the friend staff and whatnot, and telegraph has resolved. I don't see us moving forward, though, plaster over things and whatnot, but, you know, sometimes I've talked to my dad about it, he's something odd, he's followed me, he just talks about a John Grecky, you know, and he says, "Do you want a tent?" He's still down, Paul, and a ledge in the airplane, but he says, you know, when a tent, he's filmed down, that's when I hit home, and I think, you know, it's great to take something that heavy to feed with old fun game had to come, I would rather suffer the pain, it sounds crazy right, but I'd rather suffer humiliation and pain and whatnot to actually get something to happen, because... And what would you like to happen, Paul? I know it's difficult for people who are not, you know, running a football club, what would you like to see happen to Rangers? But with the love, I would love to see an investment come in from... So, I think investment come in, has it been a hardman, Scottish football, I've seen a program before, you're not going to get the likes of A and then we'll start to test the Scottish football because, at the end of the day, I've been realistic here for not the English, that they made more money on X and then they did invest in the talk, but at least Scottish football, that's just the way it is. They made money as I understand it from Netflix because the program was so compelling and the story at Rangers, the story is Celtic, it's a great story, so, I mean, don't rule out, some kid, I'm not saying it's Netflix or somebody, but it could be big investment. The Rangers get people who love the club as well. Well, don't give it up, but they're not in the same pocket as I call you there, it's driving, a lot of stops are guaranteed, these people don't have the same, these kids, they don't get the same resources as them, their investment is... Okay. I'm all right, I think, actually, I'm all right. I'm all done now as I've been to be selfish. No, yeah, no, but you need investment and Barry, you said that earlier on, that's with fundamental, the club needs money coming in. Yeah, and that's what I'm sure they're searching to get that investment. But first and foremost, they need to get a chairman in place, and a chief exec poll, that'll be John Gilligan's remit over the coming weeks. He'll go in, as I said, he knows the club, he knows it inside out, he'll settle things down, and then hopefully in the coming weeks, he'll start to see things take shape. But 100% look, clubs need investment. Rangers are certainly looking for investment, it's just getting that right person in. There's a lot of people out there with money, but you need to make sure you get the right people and through the door. And as you know, the existing major shareholders have to give something up as well then. Otherwise, you can't get the shares as you well know to get that money in. Sure, Paul. Just to say, but we've got to be very, very careful who we're getting, because we're about to try to open up what we're talking about in some of the films, and what happened when due diligence wasn't done properly. So I know the SFN things are free from things and stuff like that, but even down south, you get the wrong picture of them. Yeah, sure, what I've heard, let's not name names. Yeah, yeah. No, I wouldn't do that right, but it's just what hearts have done, they've got a model in their mobile arms when they went to a page. We've got to get the right deposit, but I can't emphasize that enough. You can't just go to say, "Oh, we're getting an American takeover, we're getting our Russian takeover, what I thought it's going to be, it's got to be the right people with the right festive interest in the public, because you won't have to look at concert manuals and whatnot, and look at what they're going through. So I absolutely think, you know, hope the right people get in there. And I'm happy with the likes, you know, to put that, they're doing the things that's best interest at heart. They just don't have the same life-life finance, maybe as other people are, and the model hasn't been done really, it ranges for a long, long, long time. Guys, do you think big money could come in from the likes of, you know, America, they're talking about Saudi, maybe Middle East money? Is it really a matter, Paul? Because the bottom line is, I think it's going to be financial fair play that ranges would have to adhere to as well. So that's a big problem, and people think it's just a Marty saying, right, "Oh, they're someday investing a hell of a lot of money, but you're not allowed to go and spend it." Yes, you can fix your stadium and everything else round about it. But then, commercially, you've got to bring everything in, and then you've got to, obviously, your accounts across, you see the problem, it started today with Manchester City. So I think that's a big player as well, and we forget that at times here, sell to give money to that because of the way they've built everything to structure, what they're bringing in and what they're putting out, all these things, you know, young boys going and whatever, you know what I mean? So to help teams and make money from them. So there's a lot you've got to do, a lot of investment, and a lot of thinking you've got to do. It's not just a Marty saying, "Right, well, there's the bank phone release going to spend in all these players." They did that the last time with the really good players, the butchers and all that. They got from my team. They're not allowed to do that now. You know, everybody's watching now, whether it's Scottish football, English, or whatever. That's a year, I think. One of the areas, Rangers need to improve on, and I think everybody will agree when you're bringing in young players with the model that Rangers have got now. When they're hitting peak level, you need to sell them on. You cannot let what's happened over the last couple of years. Four big players run out of contract. I can't, Marielo's, Barricich, Lindstrom. You can't allow that to happen. That's one problem, isn't it? For us now, looking at it, there's one problem with that, because they're your best players. And the fans don't want me going. For doing it, why did we lose this money? I think the fans will do it. You have to. You have to. But then you should have, right, you know what, this could be the season for him. You have Ian Matt, one or two or three players that can come in and replace that player. Back at iBrucks from this weekend, the manager was talking about it yesterday. It's amazing. It feels like it's 10 years ago that we were there. It's amazing to go back there. You see already today, our fans made it almost a home game with their support. So at iBrucks, it's 10 times more. So we're all the team, all the staff, everybody in the club is looking really forward to fill this energy out of iBrucks. Paul, let's get an insight from Barric. You've seen the stadium. How's it looking? Yes, it's looking good. The lower part of the Copeland will be open, but just so happy that they're back at their home ground. Paul, we've spoke about it over the weeks. Grant has been in a situation where she'll take it home. And it just didn't sit right with us, Paul. It's no right. So the most important thing is they'll get the bottom Copeland opened and then hopefully for the Habs game, the full stand, they'll be opened a little bit. Listen, it'll be a little static season. It'll be a ripe buzz about the place. So yeah, delighted when that news came out. Buzzed about the place. Well, somewhere else said that. It was a point which there wasn't. That was a great captain. He has flipped. Come on, speaking about getting that first goal at the weekend. No, okay. It's important to score the first goal, but the first goal was not our first chance. I think first 20 minutes, we had around 80% ball position and several good chances. So it's important to score. That's what I missed in the second half. If you can score the second goal, you can kill off the game. And now, yeah, one throw in or one corner can still stay dangerous. But in that way, also, congratulations to the team. Everybody stayed on very, very switched on, very on their toes in all these situations because it's a big strength of this down the United. Barry, what did you feel about the team yesterday? Yeah, I just think, quite a bit more clinical, Paul, as I said, there was chances he had to put the game to bed and he didn't do it. And as low as the longer the game goes on, the United start to gain a wee bit of confidence. But I just thought I said it to start. I just don't think the United threaten too much. One thing I will say, I thought Big John Sutter was solid at the back. Good to see now he's getting a runny games. But as I said, if you'd been picky, had the chances to put the game to bed early doors. It never happened that way, but the most important thing is they stuck together and they've seen the game out. We surprised that Balagan didn't play. Yeah, but let's listen. It's all about opinions. I just think when the big man's fit, I feel secured when he's at the back. Big Balagan. It's interesting because, Barry would tell you, I was surprised watching the game because I'm thinking, don't you need to go and play like a cop tie. It was innocent, but I thought Rangers were comfortable. They were knocked on the ball about. They were done. You need to, it's half, but predominantly the first half. You know, Lawrence won't he play up that end of the pitch and they've got that little bit of magic. It was pure defending as well to be fair, but a little bit of magic he gets through and he finishes it really well. But if you want to make range, just feel uncomfortable and I never heard Jim's interview after that. I'm sure he'd be disappointed because everybody Barry knows Jim as well, but he's very, very competitive and done. You need to do anything. But that and the first half I've felt, and what I mean by competitive is how many saves the Jack Balan have to make in the full 90 odd minutes. I can't remember having a save to make. Dundee and I did. You're thinking the way they've started the league? That's what I'm saying. I can't. Think Paul, crossies come in the box, being putting Rangers under pressure. You know they're coming here in the air, which you're coming after then and then a national break. All these things are new team together and then you need to never done that. And yeah, listen, you've got to give credit to Rangers because they're under a lot of pressure. I've been to this and I thought James Tavernier, to be fair, after the criticism, he'd got a couple of great balls in the box. And if they'd been finished off, you'd been seeing there's another assist for him and that. It's not easy being a player. You've been getting in after that pressure and great credit to him. He's a bit more from the manager for the come on. I know a lot of things because they're just playing together. It's about the right movements at the right time, with and without the ball, the communication, knowing blindly where everybody needs to run, what they need to do, when to give the pass, the timing of the pass. So there's so many things that we can improve the next weeks and months. And that's normal with a squat where you change 16 players and 11 nuke once comes in. So it will be a lot of work. But I love work. I don't like boring life. So and it's good. We have a lot of games. So there will be a lot of opportunities for the players also to show it on the pitch. So they're not boring life. Paul, you're going to the game on Saturday 530? Isn't it Dundee in the cup? Yeah, I know, definitely. I'm really glad we're back at iBrocks. Like Barry said, it's the atmosphere and just don't we've got a bit of closure for one or one thing, which is great, because I just ask what you guys think of, I missed the start issue of sorry, so I listened to the podcast, but I know, I know. Just ask us what you think about the guy. I'm moving up here and saying you're right. I can have army. Okay, I got money. Yeah, yeah. We haven't said. Okay, Barry, what do you think, I got money. I liked what I've seen when I come on in the old film game. He showed that he's got a bit of bottle. I thought when he replaced. See, the old desk is up top. Some lovely touches, Paul. Strong, looks like real physical presence. But it's still early doors. But listen, I've seen enough of him in a short period of time to think, look, there's something there that they're going work on and we'll see in the coming weeks and months, how he's going to turn out. But the earliest signs are, I've been impressed. Who was your man of the match? Would it be Tom Lawrence for the goal? Yeah, I thought you have to have done well at left back. He's improving every week. I thought young Connor Barron, me and granted my speaking about it, about some of his passes, early doors, very direct, into the feet of Tom Lawrence and cereal desk, I was looking forward to every opportunity. Big John Sutter, I thought, was a rock at the back. So there was some really good performances. Just watching it, your old ground there, Barry, not Ibrokes and Andrews. You see Tom Brady there, the NFL legend. She's all ground as well. I know I'm going to come to that shaking hand. I can only one at a time. Shaking hands with Lyndon Dykes. Yeah, I see that in the Scott Wright within the picture there, Ben Davies, who's on loan from Rangers. So yep, I'll be tuning into that game tonight. Always look out for the Birmingham results that are really good time there. Good people run about the club. Peter Grant, Birmingham Blue. I really enjoy the time there, obviously, fortunate enough to win the cup as well. But I remember my first day telling up, there were a couple of boys starting my Rangers top, so they said, "Wait, you didn't hear a bit." Because the badge is very similar to Rangers as well, Birmingham's. And they call them the Blues. And they said, "Yeah, but they're a Rangers connection." But I didn't realise it was that bigger connection, you know. So I got about a half-timer in the car park for the first time. But thankfully, as I said, we won the cup, that was a great day as well. Lovely club. It's a great club. And Tom Ross, who was a big media man there. He said big after, wasn't he? Tom, he loved the Blues. Yeah, I let us know that. They didn't know first, I don't know. And they played, they still played, it's a hardy lot to keep right on till the end of the road. Yeah, if it's a big Scottish one, they're shooting for this. It's only for us, didn't they? For us, it's that one, isn't it? Yeah. No more like entire. All right, it's for us to get more like entire. And that's their big hit for the image. But that season, and that Cup run grand, they'll tell you, the atmosphere in some of the games was brilliant. Magic. Must have been, look at the stadium now. I've not been in it for years. Don't know why you won't tell, huh? It was down pretty season much. And the Rangers game, Rangers obviously travelled down there, Paul spent a fair bit of money. And the stadium, did he obviously try and get it pretty modern. But look, Birmingham City, League one, they're a lot bigger than that. They should be in the Premier League, Birmingham. Should be. Well, come back for Villa, just briefly, at the weekend and for John McGinnan, for... What a go on there. What a round goal. What a straight, that was. Do I see many of them? There it is. What was it like for those who didn't see it? Oh, washed it for a bit, 30 yards. Couldn't have to any swim. Right in the top corner. Keep on no chance. Lashed it. There's a word you don't get too often. Brilliant. Yeah. So, what about the championship, Barry? Peter? I'll be here. Let's talk, I know you want to say. I saw a championship, man. How's it going? What about that goal? Cupiars. Go for it. Cupiars equaliser. If that was Scordam's goal, let Jamie Ahara and that, see that. So, what's part of football you've ever seen? They must have made a bit of 55 ricochets, and the ball ends up in the back of the net. It was like a game up, the part with the kids. So, if you want to talk about Scottish football, tell me how to have a look at that Sheffield Cupiars. Cupiars. Cupiars. Okay. Paul, thanks for that call. Yesterday was at the end, but a kill walk, it was amazing. And have a swim. They're a good one. 150 of them led by David Gray was there on top. And Mark Imakai, speaking to both of them briefly in some of the players, Chris Carden and others as well. What a turn out. Some from the women's team, the youth. 150 people raising money there, but we had 802 charities and breaking news. It's raised one and a half million so far. And the money's still coming in. Wow. It's a tough one. It was there, led it off. And it was just special. Honestly, parts were there as well, but lots and different charities, good people. Phenomenal, what that is. Anybody that you're helping others out and who definitely got this for most people nowadays, but you just said, people won't give that money out. It shows you people as a lot of young people in the world. Showing the amount raised one and a half million. That was half million so far. And still counting. That's right. Yep. Good win for the hips. And then they really did it. Didn't they on Saturday? We could have aged scoring and sub Martin Boyle. You can ask about the, would you just think it was a send-in off, St Johnson? Oh, did he connect in other words? The intent was there. I think he's went to block the ball. Okay. When the hips players, I thought that as well. But I thought it was a yellow maximum. Yeah. Yeah. I'm the same. I thought it was a yellow card. Did he look at it again? I don't, Paul, I don't know what they're doing. That's what I'm saying. So if you've got three referees now, remember you've got two sound obviously, plus one on the pitch and they still kind of get it right. And anybody who's played football, there's Barry. Barry's after me. So I'm not going back over the years. I thought it was a yellow card maximum. Okay. So if they got a bit red card crazy, you know. Yeah, I just think they need to take a step back at times and think. I don't think the guy's going to end with any intention whatsoever to try and hit the hips player. I think he's just, he's lost it. He's went to go and block it, figuring out the line. And there's been no contact whatsoever. So for me, it's a yellow card. You might have to get a point there, Paul, because, Paul, no, it's not the record broke at the weekend. 16 yellow cards at the game against Chelsea. Yeah. Wow. 16. Yes. And let me tell you, there's no attacker in any of the two teams. I've got a bow one. Okay. And there's 16 players booked in the game. So what is that a change? Is the game getting harder or more unruly or is it refs are being refs so much now, guys? I just think it's for our ridiculous, Paul. Listen, see if the referee's never in vain. Certain situations are going to allow you to go on, because that's the way it always has been, Paul. You know, if I was playing against, for instance, Graham is playing against me one day and he's went like, as if to draw his elbow, he looked at me and he nearly lost all your teeth there. He said, "You're lucky it's you, Peter." And no, the reason was because he knew I would kick him and he would kick me and have another complaint, you know, and the referee knew that. So they didn't bother. So nowadays, they've been knitted because right away, because at the end of the day, Vaz's going to go and have a look at it. And that was life. Sometimes you've got to fight. I just think you've got to remember it's a physical game. It's a contact sport. Absolutely. That's what you've got to remember. But is it any more? That's my worry, Paul. Well, you look at that tackle, then, and then go back to it, we'll say no, but Sean, really drawn the boot off the boy. So how can this do this, you know? That shows you how far you're asking us on a Monday evening, we're looking at and thinking, well, it's impossible to look at that and say, "How can you get away with that?" And the big fella gets booked for that, which we thought was a yellow, and you're saying, "The other one's a straight red, and we'll even look to that." And they have got far. So there's no excuse. That was baffling at times on the decisions. Bob did to Jerry, early this morning, and he was saying he really enjoys the chat. He thought I was trying to win job last week. I said, "What was it about?" I can't remember. I listened every night, but he thought it was some good chat, so that was good to hear. I want to hear more about you and Sunnis, then. So, all firm game, the time he's on, and you can hear each other. Well, the two are chasing, so it wasn't a great race. It was probably a tortoise versus a tortoise, and it was in front of the old jungle. And it was one of the ones that he looked to me, and he's sort of put his elbow in half, sort of held back as if, "Well, I'm going to get smacked rest because you know your players." And he's like, "Yeah, you're lucky it's you, Peter." That was exactly the exact ones. Because you lost all your teeth there. And the reason was, because I say, in you, the two is whatever, you go to each other, and you can get it as well. Well, you have to get out. Absolutely. You're going to get it wrong, sometimes. Can you imagine these games now, if you've watched them? It would be amazing. I can't believe all of it. He said he sent off against Celtic for the tackle and belly start, and he says he didn't deserve that. And you feel belly still? Oh, my belly would never die for anything. We've just kept the ball off, and we've just fuming it his own players, because we're running one another at the time, and we're keeping the ball, and the players are never squeezing up behind them. And it's just launched into the belly, you know? And it's a straight red all day, even in eight days. And he said, "No, I thought he was, I thought that was a bad decision, but they're here for us." Yeah, I remember that. I thought it was a good tackle. Yeah, so that one, he does against the Romanian team member. He's pointing to the back of his leg, as if to say the boys kicked him, but the boys actually in front of him. I was at the match. I was cussing it. I was a shocking tackle, you know what I mean? See that one today in the socials, Madamma Cloud, back to play against his old club, your club, being a chase there by young Peter Grant. I was chasing him up exactly, but we were attacking at that time. He was launching it, walking in the middle. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant He was launching it. Brilliant, brilliant. Brilliant, brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant Celtic player. Brilliant Celtic player. Brilliant Celtic player. Big game player. Scored big goals at big times. The fourth two scored the rasp in that. 10 men win the league. There's all eight moments he's had there, but then went to Germany and was excellent there as well. But then Habs as well won the Cup with Habs. Of course, I set the score cup as it was then. It's the Premier Sports League Cup this weekend. He went to... I don't manage the Rumband, didn't he? He was a Rumband boy. He did go to the bottom for a small period. Did he? Wow, check. I mean, the talent he had there. I thought from the other week when I was at Mary Hill at Fair Hill, so... Yeah, what a talent, yeah. Well, that's Henrik's in it. That's right. Henrik's first game, first game and gives a ball to check. You don't give him what way they are in 1-1 now. So, babies are a very good player check. There's no doubt about that. O8, O8, 17, 17, 700, Monday night with Peter and Barry. This is the good radio football show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Let's go! At the weekend, Aberdeen, what a win for them 2-1 against Motherbone. Well, getting a late goal, but what about Papa Habib Gay? It's something happening, Peter at Petordry, because unbeaten. It's quite a recognise, isn't it, for Jimmy Tilleen? Well, it just shows you a guy, he's been out in London. He put me alone last season, so all of a sudden, he's come back, he's in fire, he looks lightning quick, very direct. All the things you hate to play against is a defender, and he scone goals. That's the first goal. Yeah, but it was rough when everybody was talking about Aberdeen, because they don't know how to play, isn't that proud of their game, but all the smoke and whatever, they must have won the league or something like that. But he's got them galvanised, and that's what you need. If you can get in there, and that's difficult, because players get in there, and they start feeling 10 feet tall, and they get the best performances from him. That's what you need at times, and well, bit interesting when they play the Celtics and the Rangers, when their expectation is there as well, that's what you've got to do. And as I said, it's done remarkably well, because it's not easy to come in anywhere and try and galvanise, because they've tried it with a couple other managers, and it's not really happening. But Jimmy has obviously come in and seen something, added a couple of experience players in the eight areas, and that is absolutely no doubt that's helped them. Yeah, winning breeds confident. There's no doubt about that, and they've got off there, a flyer. But I agree with you, Grant, this is when they're going to be coming up against Rangers and Celtic. That's where they'll be really judged. But look, the guys come in, and what a kick he's got out of, made a few good signings. So, look, that's clearly high one confidence. There's no doubt about that. And for the first time in years since Dave Cormack took over, we could have a manager who lost the whole season. It's never happened. Well, listen, we're only in middle of September. Well, that's what I'm saying, it's dope, man, you get the sack of the ass. You know, you think he's just got the job that actually pokes him away from your Plymouth, you know, and he's just got the job, and then just psyched him, Shoemaker. So, I think they've won, if it's five games, they've won two, and I think they've been drawn to and won five. Yeah, away he goes. They're saying they've already got permission to speak to their knowledge, manager, assistant manager, and he's just in the door. Yeah, many go around. Duncan Shrekham was a kill walk yesterday with his wife, Juliet, their massive Aberdeen fans. And he said they're working on that now is the thing you mentioned at the T4 and all that sort of stuff. He said this year, they're making the noise much better at Potorgy, get the atmosphere. They'd $17,500 for the motherboard game. But that's what I'm saying. Well, you have to do it. That's why I can't understand. Take Celtic and Rangers as in the situation they've got between each other at this moment time. But how the hell can St. Johnstone, hearts, hubs, bebannin' Celtic Rangers fans? I know they're talking about certain songs, you know, song. They've been sung for 100 years. Well, I'm not saying they're right wrong and different. That's the atmosphere I'm talking about here. We don't want to be embarrassed when we just keep seeing these big polystyrene or polythemed sheets across seats. Yeah. You know what I mean? It looks absolutely terrible. And we're talking about trying to sell the game. That's the problem. That's why it gives these a harness, not an opportunity to say 10-pot league when you see that. And that is what we have got to get rid of. They're not banning me. No fun, but they're reducing numbers. You know what, Paul, I would have no problem if you're St. Johnstone's etc, etc, can sell out to the home fans. And can they? I have very much doubt it. And the last thing you want to do is we have a game on TV and there's empty seats. And it's all about clubs are struggling for finance. So surely if their own fans ain't going to buy their tickets, surely they're going to give the tickets back to whoever they're playing, whether it's our Rangers or Celtic. Because one thing for sure, they all sell it out. You know the argument you could say though, they started it. Rangers and Celtic have got something to answer for here. Because they started it. Rangers said, yeah, we're not reducing it. And then Celtic did it as well. We're talking about their struggling for finances and whatever. And with the old fan going up there a couple of times a year, that brings in a lot of money for them. I completely agree with you. Celtic are Rangers. Celtic don't go to Iberocs. Rangers don't sell it all. Rangers don't call me. You know what I mean, Paul, there's a difference. That's from me and Barry. Seifs and joins and fans turn up and this place is full. Okay. No problem. I miss him. I have no issues with that. Perfect. No problem. I can understand you don't want other supporters singing for their team and whatever. No problem whatsoever. But if you're not selling it, it's embarrassing. And that's where it gives these guys fuel. And that's the thing I'm saying. You don't give them the fuel. I would even say to them, right, the television cameras look right across the pitch. Let's squeeze them all in there then. Make it look full. But I watched the Rangers game at the start of the season against hearts. I mean, you told me that it's supposed to be the third best supported team in Scotland. It was more burgundy seats I could see at the Rangers end. I'm not a shocker. Yeah. And you're thinking ridiculous. Hibs, half of the stand, polished theme across it. You know, the covers across it. Ridiculous. I don't give it. Anybody sees. And then all their seats are empty. So that's what I'm saying. If they can sell it out, good luck to them. Well done. But if you can't sell it, give us a break. So Aberdeen winning yesterday. My logo, a late late go, but it's a consolation. It'd be scoring near the end. What about Ross County against Dundee? It was a big win for them, wasn't it? They needed a 20-docative disappointed. Yeah, I'll be honest with you. I didn't see that coming out. I fancied Dundee seeing Ross County a few weeks back when they came to Hamden against Rangers and I was badly disappointed in them. Really disappointed in them. No, I didn't take that result. My dad gave us a bit. Yeah. But listen, fair play to them. It's a brilliant three points against a Dundee team who, listen, I've been flying high for the feet. I just think it's tough. You know, when you're Dundeeing up to Ross County and Ross County, you have not won and you've had a bad day. Tidy, the feet, you think to yourself, two weeks. And you know there are none of their players away. That preparation that comes in, Dundeeing and fire. Maybe get a couple of days off, rightfully so. All that sort of stuff. And Ross County had been working away and working away at home. I thought, I just did a sneaking suspicion because these are the games you do trip up after certain games like that. And listen, please for Don Cowley's. Well, he's a young coach coming into the game as well. So you're pleased for these guys who work hard to try and get in the door and then to get results for them. You don't want to make them under pressure after a few weeks out. Tony Doke wasn't happy with the VAR penalty. Would that be fair? I've never seen it, Paul. I'll be talking about it. I've never seen that one. So, to Ross County. St. Marin, come on up. We talked a bit earlier on. All the Sanja scores, header in seven minutes. Then Marley Watkins, four minutes later. A good start. Then a crazy game, the penalty. Mark Ahara scoring in 40 minutes. Then the own goal from a younger man game. Yeah. Bad game, isn't it? It was. Well, Kelly go chop six by the end of the season. I'm at Anson Marin. Will they both be there again? Yes, I think both in a moby in the top six. Yep. I'll find say both of them. I said Kelly would finish fourth last year. And I said, I don't even finish third. I think Aberdeen will finish third this year. I think it'll be a fight for the other positions because I don't think there's a lot between them. Now, you know, in a solid base that you're always talking about, Kelly, they've lost a few goals recently. You know, and you just need all your big players to be playing well. You know, the Danny Armstrong's all that. You know, they've had a lot of games to the start of the season. Maybe they'll come good. I just think there's going to be a big fight. Want you getting that top six this year? I really do. I think there's going to be a scrap for that. But I think Aberdeen are going to be the team at finish. She's third. I was just thinking that that was on Anson and St. Mullen come on, look at Mandron. Did you see that? Obviously, they all bought a yellow card. And then a minute later, he lunges in. And he actually catches the command-look defender. Doesn't get booked. And Stephen Robinson's done straight away, bang off. That was another. He did. Told you the decision. I thought it was very similar to the boy who gets sent off at Hibbs. You know, that when you put your foot in somebody goes and kicks through, you just kicks the ball away and you hit his foot. It was very similar to that. Obviously, a different angle. One gets a red card. As you say, one gets off the pitch and he's already been booked. I didn't write down why not two yellows. Another game that's a red card at this month command-look game. It's not even a booking. Absolutely. Just after being booked too. Exactly. It was a bit of a minute after that. I don't know what the Mandron's thinking. Absolutely. You know, when you get a booking right, I'm not going to do anything here. I'm not going to your lunge in. I'll do anything. And your lunge is in. Actually, catch. He's there. 70 minutes. Wasn't it? Something like that. It was a crazy weekend for the referees. Because they made a good start party on VAR. We hadn't spoken about it. Yeah, he's talking about it, but I've seen so many decisions, Paul. I'm not getting them right in my eyes. They need to get these decisions correctly. Give them all they call them credit and their respect to that. If they're starting to put something together to come out and explain them, it doesn't mean ends and Paul for the minds. It's lost points. Sometimes it rails even more, because it's maybe causing your job. I've been there in the situations. I've been given against this and not given for us and whatever. So I understand all that. But at least there's some sort of explanation coming out now. But this one's going to be interesting, because we've already... And this weekend, not at the end of the month, but this weekend, we've seen a low incidence. You could do a program on yourself and try and explain them. My argument still is, why can't the referee up the stairs make the decision? Because if you're telling them to come at VAR, he's not refereeing it anyway. So that was always an excuse. Well, you could still get a little referee on the pitch referee. Just tell them. That's a penalty kick. The fans are more interested in what's going on in the pitch than going over to say to a television. One thing I will say, I've been impressed as well the columns took over. A lot of communication. That's what people want a year. And talking about the Dundee penalty, they should have had a penalty. I think it was Simon Murray. That's right. Yeah, he's great. Do you need to get one out? Do you need to... Does it not have to be a match the first game of the season? I've owned him. And I've always explained and apologized. And you know what, I've got a lot of time for that. But I've been impressed as well the columns took over. At least he's communicating and that's all you can ask for. Championship folk are going to the top. We mentioned them early, 15 points, 8 and 14. And then Livy on 11. Queen's Park on 7. The Jagzone 5, along with Hamilton. And Femline on 4, along with Audrey. And Morten Andrey Throvers on 3. League 1. Your former club. You're both former managers of Aloe, top of the table. Jointed with Queen of the South on 10 points. Kelty Barry, your old team on 9, along with Montrose and Stynhouse Muir. Then comes Inverness, Kelly Thistle, along with Cove. And then to Barton and to Broth. And then League 2. Peterhead, top of the table. Harry Fraser, one of the directors was there yesterday in Edinburgh. On 16 points, East 5 on 12, 4th at the bottom and 2. Clyde on 5 points. They drew one each the weekend against Edinburgh City. So still pretty tight everywhere, isn't it so far? But Aloe, we're doing okay? Yeah, and listen, I think you'll need to wait another couple of months. Then you'll see it starting to stretch out a wee bit. At this moment in time, we're only about 5, 6 games in Paul. It's still a bit early, I think, once you get into the kind of November/December time, that's when you kind of see who's going to be fighting for promotion, who's going to be fighting first to get into the playoffs. But look, all the leagues are pretty tight. Well, you see it now, Paul, because I think I'm at 8, when I say the championship, everybody's full time now. That'll be the first time for a long time. Yeah, because Aloe, you know, Aloe, I've been out with the two teams that was in it and hold really in the respect to that. Isn't it funny two years ago they were nearly in the championship? Yeah, of course. But I think that's the point I'm going to make. I think there's such a fine line between all the teams in the division. So it used to be maybe the part time that they'd say because you can't do it, obviously training and preparation, which sometimes can be an excuse for you. And I never like to use that excuse. But you sometimes find that. You lose players in that for certain periods. But now they're all on an even kill. You'll find that in the games. Nothing. I'll surprise you about any games. I mean, Clyde, for instance, started the season. You'll be thinking really well, really strong group of players. A couple of injuries, you end up struggling a little bit, and not getting results. And some of the results they didn't get, he's 5th of the week there. I think it was 3-1 or some. They're actually the best team they've been. But that's the fine line between them. You know, they've got a goalscorer that was like, Barry, you used to have them on the mat. Nathan Austin, you'd need to know. Nathan Austin, Hank, scored the hat trick in that particular game. And that can be the difference someday that I experienced, you know. And you get it right, sorry, in the derby. It's not a sort of derby. It's a derby. Yes, I thought the first time I've won that game, because listen, I didn't realize it was a first time in five. I think I mean, five defeats prior to that. I mean, I was I played, I was involved in three, well, one and a half, because again, it called off one of the games, for the late fail, we had something like safety during the game. And then two draws. And then Samuel, it's been five defeats since then, you know. So, it was interesting, but it's all I deserved it. But it's, yeah, turning two. The game, good. It was a good day. It was a good day. It wasn't a good, for so bamba. Yeah. At the start of the game. Yeah, that's good celebration. Yeah, absolutely. Both support us. That's well respected. This is the goal radio football show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Tomorrow night, John Hartson will be here, along with the Invincible. Steven McGinn, his old team. Why is it so many old teams? So, let's not. We don't have enough time to talk about it. We're going to look at a Wednesday night with Barry and Peter, Celtic in action against Slovan Bratislava. I see their manager hasn't been keeping too well, bloody advice. But he's hoping to recover from illness and time to be there at Celtic Park for what will be an amazing atmosphere. Champions League, Peter. Special. That's what everybody looks for, Paul. That's why you've got your window leak here. I keep saying this to get that opportunity to play in a Champions League. People say against the best players. And it's an atmosphere that is second to none. When you go to Celtic Park for a European night, there is absolutely no doubt of that. And it's something that some of these young players who have not been involved in it before will be special for them. You've been here that music for the first time. And you can remember the matter. He's not saying the first time they had champions League music itself because they've never been involved before was something special for them. And these new boys are getting there again. And you won't be playing. This is a game that talks about squads and all that. You won't even that statin. So, who is playing? Is it going to be a bad game? I think even angles played well. I'm not saying I'd be surprised. The angles was very, very good. There's no doubt about that. And it wouldn't surprise that Bradley Stockwell is the same team. Of course, it wouldn't surprise me at least. But it's a difficult one for Bernard that the fact that he played so well and has played so well. But I'm not the major. And he's slightly different for Bernard, Paul. He makes runs in the box. And that's what I would say about me. Does that really well? He runs off the ball. He's that third man run. He done even a simple thing for the throw-in. It was Flicked on the coon. He's a short off the post. He was running without the ball. And he does that very well. That's probably different for Bernard. That might be the only change, do you think? I can't see much because you've got me either. You've had two who started the season very well. I think you'll go. Even though I don't either look sharper. Even though he did it. He looks sharper. He looks as if it's obviously been away working, obviously with Ireland and that. Even the training that's been going on. So he looked sharper when he came on in the game. It was unfortunate he scored. But then it was obviously that had been a third goal, but it was cancelled for Paul a bit offside. It was a very good move. But he looked sharper in the game. So there's no doubt you'd be putting pressure on QO now. Barry, what do you think for the game? Do you think it will be he'll be playing the midfield? Will he go back to Bernard? That's a beauty when you've got a big squad Paul with a lot of quality. You've got very, very good options and that's what Brendan Rodgers has got at Celtic. Just look ahead to the game. I said that his start, Brad's level will have some very handy players. But I'd be thinking if I was a player going into that game, don't let them settle. The noise will be crazy. And they've probably quite a few of their players won't have sampled like it's going to be in Wednesday night. So what you want to do is make them feel uncomfortable and settle them. And when you do that, you'll have a right good chance. I do think Celtic will be too strong for them. I think they'll go off to one and start. And that would be a brilliant start. It's too often that Champions League program that we all watch. You've got the live games and then they show you all the games later. And then they go, um, here's Celtic or two years go on, here's Rangers. And obviously the wreck has not been great. And it's so disappointing, isn't it? Paul, I was listening to the radio this morning. Every English team they mentioned, another mention, Celtic and Champions League. And it's ridiculous. You know, I don't care if anybody says that, that's the disrespect. None of them have done a few of them over. And Rangers have done that with them before. So let's not be kidded. And in a 1v1's, anytime they're more than capable of that. And that's what the disrespect comes in. And then you wonder why people get robbed. It's like talking about England, isn't it? The Scotland games on, and the first thing they'll talk about, sing on. You know that's where the lack of respect comes in. You think to yourself, well, we'll go in a minute. It's also getting into Champions League for a reason. They win their league, give them that respect, and give them their headlines. That's what they do. Because let me tell you, if you don't get this out, Paul, you won't be the headline. Yeah. Well, that's an ideal European competition starts next Thursday, don't it? That's what I was going to say. No, but listen, don't be able to watch. They don't even bother, isn't it? I say. Just go on your football. Yeah, it's put to the side. But listen to Champions League, I mean, you're playing against a no-brash-lav, I'm not a massive team. But listen, you won't get off. That's a right good opportunity for you to get off to try one and start. We're talking about Arnie Ingles. Will he play? Look, McCown probably won't start. But my goodness, they were the two scorers at the weekend. Yeah, it doesn't really matter who's scores, but I think Arnie shows a real good composure in the penalty and finishes it really, really well. And nice for him to get that feeling. And it's going to take a little bit of time for all the signings just to mold in, to how we play and how we work. But he's shown today has that physicality and running power, which is important and technically is strong. And for a look, a real special moment to score your first goal and your Celtic supporter and to get that feeling when that applause from all the crowd, it was a real, real special day. So yeah, it was a good performance and another clean sheet. Daniel's on asking, what was the leg scoring? Your first goal? Because obviously, look, McCown, boyhood fans, what was it for you? I can't remember my first goal at Celtic part, but my first goal first, Celtic was at the old broomfield in this score cup, you know. And then I waited in the old terminus after at Paul for the bus. And we won, you know, what call? No, it was too many. I get chased home, actually. I actually get chased. Yeah, I get mine and matching the score. We won 41. I get chased. I was waiting for the bus, the Irvin's bus going to Chapel Hall, and I get chased back down normal. That's where I get chased. Jumping your foot, because that's the half I could have. Obviously, I'll write to leave because I'll have two of my other men in Chapel Hall, you know. This is ice on no problem. They said, what should mine and match? No laugh and let you know. Well, I don't know when I get outside. There was a couple of guys waiting on me and chased me back. Barry was he a big brother, didn't he? Barry, your first goal for Rangers, what was it like as a boyhood fan? Yeah, listen, it's something when you, you go as a young boy and you watch the team play. It's something that you set and think, well, what would that feel and be like? And lucky enough, I'd done it quite a, quite a few times. Yeah, it's a special feeling. There's, there's no doubt about that. I was laughing. He's done it a few times. I got 22 or something, which was unusual, you know. And I scored the header, how long is that? A bit more from Brenda Rogers is about Celtic's performance on Saturday to know when against hearts and thinking about Wednesday. Yeah, very pleased. I think that all you can ask is that when the players are away and we've a lot of players away in that international break, that when they come back, that they show up. And a game like this year, don't need to complicate, just do what we've done many, many times. And I thought the players did that really well. You give credit to your heart because they came to defend. That's not been a great start for them, but they made it difficult, had good physicality in that midfield and on the sides. So I think if we score the goals with some really good moments in the first half, going to see some really good positions, didn't quite drop for us or we didn't quite make the finish. And of course when it's no-no, the longer it goes on, it can give the opponent a bit of confidence. But we get persevering, we get the penalty early in the second half and then we push on from there. So it was eight points between them until yesterday lunchtime. Rangers, one nil at Tanadeis afterwards, Philippe Clemente. That you win here because it's a team in a really good dynamic. They got the points that they deserve until now and then they did it really well. So it's a hard place to come to. But also of course, that we are integrating a lot of new players and some are here a few weeks and they're getting better and better. Like the F days, like the proppers, some come out of a long-term injury. Like Kuskar Cortes getting minutes and some are brand new, like Nadim, Vajrami and Hamza. And it's important that they feel with their qualities, they can help the team. And of course also with the rest of the team to the guys who were here last season, I didn't speak about Connor Barret yet, he's also not so long in the building. So there's a lot of new things. Of course, we still make more mistakes than we will make in one year or in two years with this squad. But it's getting better and better and that's what people see. Barry, what are you thinking then ahead of after getting that win? Because it was huge for Rangers, wasn't it? To narrow the gap again? It's so important, Paula says, and Friday it can't be eight or seven points. I had to get back down to five. I was more than confident so I thought we'd take care of your hearts, that that was the case. And Rangers had to make sure that they couldn't let the gap grow any bigger. Could the performance been a lot better? Of course it could, but at no stage during the game, I've been brutally honest, did I feel a bit nervous? I didn't. And only the only kind of negative would say Rangers could have finished off the game a bit earlier because they had a few opportunities. But overall, most important thing is getting that victory. Sure is. And the other headline today was Dave King speaking to Jim White on TalkSport today. Jim, thank you for giving us these cuts. And then at the end of the day, the fans are in this city. They can only be, you have to come out on top and Dave King was asked. Grimstone has felt there's not much between the two. What does he feel? I've did the utmost respect for Graham. And he knows a lot more about football than I do. But I think there's a very significant gap on the pitch and off the pitch at the moment between ourselves and Celtic. Barry, it's going to be an interesting time. We hope John Bennett as well. But of course we do and John Gilligan in charge temporarily, but he knows the ropes. Yep, it's going to be an important next few weeks, Paul. Because as I mentioned, John Gilligan will come in, he'll steady the ship. But his first port of call will be making sure that he gets the right man to come in and take the club forward. And also a chief exec, which has been missing for a number of months. And you want your old club clearly to do well, no matter who's in charge to make sure? Yeah, like what we've got in terms of gaps and whatever. I was certain that the obviously the last old firm game and apart for the first 10 months, you could see you could see the quality. And I'm not just talking about on the pitch, it was a bench, you're making changes. But listen, it's going to be a it's just a period of time that rangers are arguing through a fair bit of change from the top also. So hopefully in the coming weeks, as I said, we'll find out who's going to be taking the club forward. If you missed any of the program, it's wherever you get your downloads. Thank you, Peter. Thank you, Barry. And thanks for everyone who called and for all the comments. We're back tomorrow night at five with Stephen McGinn and John Hartson. News is next and then it's Jocal Day. This is the Go Radio football show. Listen live weeknights from five on go. Let's go!
