[MUSIC] The adults in FM Talk 106-5, that's time of the week. >> Yes, let's talk with the captain. >> It is 754 on a Thursday, and Thursday is, you know what that means, time for the FM Talk 106-5. Fish and Report brought to you by McConnell, Buick, GMC, and McCoy Outdoor Company. And, of course, the main man, Captain Bobby Eberscato with 18 fishing. Good morning, Captain Bobby. >> Yeah, good morning, guys. Man, I'll tell you what, how about that ride in? Y'all saw this morning, how about that moon, huh? >> Yeah. >> You have to put sunglasses on before you came before coming into the studio, huh? >> It was kind of startling this morning, yeah, we saw that. >> I hear you. >> Yeah. >> I can't wait. >> We had that, what do they call like a super harvest moon or something that came through the other night? Who knows? It seems like every month on the full moon, they have a different name for it. It's not the blue moon, it's something else. So I have trouble keeping up with them, but I sure love seeing it because these trout really react well to it. They kind of go into this spawning mode. It's like a peak spawning period for them. And unlike a lot of the other species of fish, the old trout, when they spawn are really aggressive feeders. And you can evidence that by now these guys are putting on a wax festival. That's really the hung up on y'all a second year when you call. I was taking a fish off and I pushed the wrong way. >> That's a good reason to not get on the fishing report soon enough, because you're fishing and doing well. >> That's right. >> So how did the fish react, salt, water, fresh water, whatever, with this weather we're going to have lower humidity, maybe around 90 calm skies and, I guess, calm seas too. >> It really does well. And you know, kind of with the weather we had for the, you know, the over the last week or so, especially with that little storm, combination of all of that stuff down brings that water temperature down. And the lower water temperature holds more oxygen and blah, blah, blah. And it basically results in some really good fishing and that's what's going to go on. And that's going to continue. We're going to be talking a lot about that in the next several weeks. This water temperature drop and it goes into what we call a transitional period, where shrimp get on the move and the fish stay with the shrimp and the real easy to find. And so that all is going to be going on. Like I said, we're going to be talking about that. We're kind of, what I call kind of a pre-transitional period right now. And that's all a result enough that, like you just said, the cooler weather and the storms that we had last week and the shorter days now with the sun's not on the water as long. And all that really results in some really, really good fishing. >> Hey, Captain Bobby, you know, so many people every week, they pull this segment up on the podcast or they try to listen live for the FM Talk 1-2-6-5 fishing report. But you also go on the outdoor show fairly often with Sean Sullivan and Mike Ward. I believe, is it this weekend you're going to spend a good hour with them talking about some ensure fishing? >> That's usually what we do. We do about the four different, I'm going to call it a period because there's no such thing as a season. But yeah, we try and talk about each of the different periods that we have in our area. So we're scheduled to do that sometime in the very near future. We're going to be talking about what I just talked about a second ago this fall, this transition into that fall of fishing. So that's what we're talking a lot about the techniques to use where to be, that sort of thing. >> Yeah, and so this weekend, a lot of people are going to get out there. What's the best advice you could give them? >> Well, I'll tell you, behind this moon right here, we're going to go into these bigger tide cycles, which means higher water. And so my focus is usually when I get that, is try to stay on the shallow water, whether it be over shell or grass. We still have a lot of shrimp in the water right now, Dan. So like a shrimp imitation is going to be your best bet. Those fish get real, real picky when we got a lot of shrimp in the water. So I would definitely have some kind of shrimp imitation or a live shrimp under a cork tied on, because that's what's going to catch the fish for you until all these shrimp get out of here. Now I'm a little hard-headed. We'll throw top water right at daylight just to get a few bites, but that cork deal with the shrimp is going to out produce everything right now. So that's what I do. >> Some more great advice there. If folks want to book a trip with you, how can they get that done? >> Just go to 18fishing.com. That's our website. It's got our contact information. We just had a phone number change, which is on the website now. We have a new phone number, so check that out on the website. That's all at 18fishing.com. >> I like hanging out with you, Bobby, on land. We were so much fun. We were at, when we went to the North Baldwin chamber out, the boat show we see can't Bobby quite a bit earlier? >> That's right. Good to see you, my man, and have a great weekend, okay? >> Okay, y'all. Thanks for having me on y'all. Have a good weekend. >> All right, the FM Talk 10065 Fishing Report with Kat and Bobby Abberskato from 18fishing is presented by McConnell, Buick GMC, and McCoy Outdoor Company.
