Hi, here we go into the four o'clock hour. Happy to be with you. Gwen and Chris. Chris Elo, Tony Gwen Jr, Mr. Scrappy, the Odyssey Palace studios, Tony's down at Petco Park. He's running around again following a fun edition of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Yeah. A lot of ugly this week, a lot of ugly. You know, we didn't even get in the Panthers and how ugly they were again. We don't need to. Everybody knows. Bryce Young has been benched already as quarterback and a good old Andy Dalton is back starting in the NFL. Gee, where would the league be without that? Well, I do think Andy Dalton is a blueprint for how to make a career in the NFL. He's been going somewhere and then stay on the good side of people and just keep finding lousy quarterbacks to back up and then you'll get your opportunity. Other NFL notes. I mean, there's a lot of a lot of big ones today. Cooper cup to the IR, not yet, but missing many games. Yes. Ankle injury. Rams are already without Puka Nakua. Miami dolphins are going to sign Tyler Huntley as a backup quarterback to Schuyler Thompson, but this is the interesting thing to me to a tag by law is still not placed on injured reserve. Mike McDaniel says they need more information. Tag of all, it says he plans on coming back and playing despite the fact everyone's telling him to retire. You know what that means, Chris, if they didn't put him on IR, he'll be back before four weeks is up. Awesome. And if he plays like he did Thursday night before the injury, it's not going to matter a whole hell of a lot. Zeya Pacheco is out six to eight weeks as a bummer for that hurts the Kansas City Chiefs, but they are looking to replace him with Kareem Hunt. Why don't you bring P Diddy in to run for you. Oh my gosh. And there's, you know, these videos of these guys, I don't understand how they keep getting jobs. I just don't, but that's, you know, I guess not for me to determine Justin Herbert has some X-rays today on his leg after being hurt yesterday. He got snapped in half. No, he's fine. I mean, did you see the play? He got snapped. Oh, yeah. He got snapped in half. Underneath the player, and he got like high load and so bad. He's okay. I think Justin Jefferson is going to be okay, but out with a quad. They didn't say anything today yet, Jefferson, he didn't interview after the game yesterday. So that tells me that he's fine. Oh, he said he's fine, but you know, they can say that they see what happens. Baseball wise Padres fantastic weekend over the Giants three game sweep, shut them out the first two games, beat them an extra innings yesterday, Friars three and a half up on the wild card and only three and a half back of the Dodgers. Dodgers play the Braves today. Mets are hosting the nationals. If you're wondering, keeping scoreboard Arizona's at Colorado Padres and Astros do start a three game set tonight, you Darvish. Back on the mound for San Diego against the A.L. West leading strobes. They're four and a half up in their division, by the way. All right. So I think you're pretty much caught up with everything that you need to be caught up on scraping anything I leave out there in a quick recap now. I don't think so. Okay. Well, then let's get to today's round of a wait. I do have one thing. Okay. Sorry. Not only are usual prize today in the daily gambit or the Christmas, the fans are usual qualification for trip to Las Vegas. We're also going to give a pair of tickets today for a tastings in the wine in beer garden at the La Jolla Art and Wine Festival. It's kind of a hoity, toity thing for our listeners, Scravey. It's coming up on a, I don't know how many of you out there, you know, frequent the Art and Wine Festival in La Jolla. I think a lot. I hope so, but you'll be a lot, you'll be able to go September 29th. It's a free event featuring a 160 fine artists and loads of family fun tickets are required to enter the wine in beer garden. They can be purchased to the LJ AWF dot com. So we're going to give some tickets to that, but in the five o'clock hour, I got tickets to Wednesdays, Padres, Astros game. Stick around for that as we play Christmas, the fans now. If you had one shot, one opportunity to take down the human all manack himself, how would he do? Now is your time. Listen to me, this guy, strangers. Now is your opportunity to win a prize. Well, I hope you know what Jen for Chris versus the fans starts now on 97 three the fan. All right, you have to make it through, let me start that over the rules. You have to make it through three questions. Each question will get more difficult. If you get the question right, you move on. If you get it wrong and Chris gets right, you're eliminated. If Chris gets it wrong, then you move on to the next question or you win. If you're a first time player, let us know before you get into it and you will get the first question for free today. Chris versus the fans is presented by SD fat loss, lose 20 to 30 pounds in just 60 days visit SD fat loss.com to schedule your free consultation. Final Chris versus the fans for a little bit, everybody, I have yet to figure out what we're going to do instead. Yes, we haven't really announced everybody that I'm going on a vacation here. Yes. Basically, the Padres are sending me away. Yeah. They're like, don't come back until the playoffs start. They're like you, you badmouthed our team too much. Yes. Right. I'm too negative. So, yeah, I'm going to be out for a little while, got a little trip planned here with the honey. So we're going to have some fun, but are you going to do it? Do you know if you're going to go in versus the fan? I don't think it can happen. Huh? I don't think it can happen. Okay. He's got to get ready for ball games. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I'll figure something out. You'll figure something out. No. Well, we'll have some sort of game to be played at this time. I think you can just do Scrappy versus the fan. You forget the answer to most of these questions anyway. That's what I was about to say is like, who's going to do the questions and I don't know what you're going to do under those circumstances. I wake up in the middle of the night sometimes, Chris, like thinking about questions. It's as you should. I should. All right. We already said the prize. We already did all that. Let's go to our first contestant. No, I don't think we did rules. Yeah, we did. I didn't say play. Yes, you did. I did. Yeah. Really. Way out of it. Yes, you did. Let's go to Ricky. Hello, Ricky. Hey. What's up, guys? Not too much. Are you ready to play? Yeah. I am at first time. Yeah. Good. Good to have you with us. Thanks so much for being with us. Yes. Here we go. Hope you win in your debut. The number two, the last Cowboys Super Bowl victory came over what team? Oh, I'll go these semths, just go 49ers. Same as just go 49ers. That would be really hard to do. They play in the same conference. I think it was a Steelers. I think I watched that game in Alaska. That's random. Yeah. Correct. Oh, sorry. I remember that. That was the game the Steelers tried the onside kick at the beginning of the second half or early in the second half. It almost turned the game around. They were driving for a winning score, but Neil O'Donnell, yeah, quarterback, threw the ball right to Larry Brown twice, and Larry Brown was MVP for standing there and catching the ball. And then he signed like a billion dollar contract with the Raiders who were like, what the hell did they just do? Because he wasn't even very good, but he was Super Bowl MVP. You know, I remember that. Does it surprise you that I was extremely mad at the Cowboys because D. How old were you for that game? 10. Yeah. So because it was 95, I believe. Yeah. Dion went from the 49ers to the Cowboys and it really bothered me and then he was running around. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry about that. Thank you for being caring about that. You're welcome. Let's go to our next contestant. We're going to go to Lance. Hello Lance. Gentlemen. Gentlemen. Here we go. Question number one. Coming into today, which baseball team has the most wins in all of baseball? Philly. Philly's is correct. We're losing there for a little bit. All right. Here we go. Question number two. What was the nickname of the Minnesota Vikings defensive line from the late sixties to the seventies? Boy. The purple people here. That a boy. I am just hoping that Lance knew because I knew the Christmas. I said, oh boy, because you know, I know those seventies. Yeah. That's a great name though. Isn't it? The purple people leader? I do love it. Yeah, they didn't need anybody in the Super Bowl. So they got clobbered every time they went to the Super Bowl, but they were really good before that. All right. Here we go. Question number three. When you are going to the wine festival at the La Jolla Food and Wine Festival and also the qualification for Las Vegas, two Padres pitchers are in the top ten for strikeouts this season. Name both. Which two Padres pitchers? Yeah. Go ahead. He's still in the season. Michael King. Wow. Give the man the title. Yay. Lance. Ricky the Lance in the game is over. Way to go Lance. Anybody comes up with purple people leaders deserves the title. It's good by you. Yeah. Very good by me. They had some great names back then. They had the fearsome force them from the Rams. They had the steel curtain for the Steelers and they had doomsday defense for Dallas. Oh, they had the no name defense for the dolphins back in the seventies, which still angers. I'm sure. No, they took it as a prideful thing. They went and what happened there, they played the, I think it was the Cowboys in the Super Bowl and they asked Tom Landry about the dolphin defense. He said, well, they're pretty good, but they're just a bunch of no names. And so the dolphins took that and they won two Super Bowls and calling themselves the known name defense. And I think it served them in the realm of they played as a team. It was like they didn't want to focus on any individuals. So they, they used it to their advantage, but there were some really good names. Yeah, fearsome force them with Deacon Jones and Merlin Olson and doomsday with head to tall Jones. Come on. You need nicknames. Scrappy. Right? Like in the day, Deacon Jones, I wasn't his name. His name was David Jones. How exciting would it have been? Now here's the, here's the quarterback. He sacked by David Jones, but Deacon Jones. Now you got something. He took his head off. He did take his head off Deacon Jones invented the term sack. Oh, really? Yes. He said they asked him what it was like tackling the quarterback and he said, well, it's like I go in there and I get, grab all the quarterbacks and I put them in a big sack and I just beat them and they started calling it a sack. I do. Deacon Jones was a little crazy. Scrappy. Okay. I do love old school stuff. Yes. It's like putting them in a sack and just grabbing them and just beating the sack. That's how sack came about at two tall Jones for the Dallas Cowboys. Now he was tall, but he wouldn't have been much of a guy. If he just rushed the passer as Ed Jones. Yeah. Does that scare anybody? No. But two tall Jones. That was a, that was a mythic figure. Mythic. It was man. The NFL was in that regard. It was better back then. I think the, the raid has ran around in those days with the who they have. Oh man. They were just tearing people's heads off. I had, had someone just texted me saying that their softball team growing up was named the purple people. Very good. Good job by you guys out there. Yeah. The Raiders. If you ever want to see some illegal football, just type in the name George Atkinson. It's a safety for the Raiders back in the seventies. He'd never tackled a single player. He just waited till you ran across the middle and then he closed lined you simple as that whether you have the ball or not that's a and it was legal like they didn't even throw a flag on the guy. That's why when football was crazy back then football was crazy. It was like 10 years ago and think about it back then. They weren't taking guys off the field of data concussion. They just, you know, took them to the sideline, rub a little dirt on it and you know, send you back out on the field. Sir, what's your name? I don't know. Oh, he's ready to go back. He's ready. Yeah. Do you know what Jersey number or where we're wearing white? Good. You're good to go. What? Get out of the sky. Get out out there. Oh, he said red. It's okay though. He's in. He's in the dance. The purple people leaders take him to the title today. We'll take a break. Morgan and Chris on the way. By the way, Lance, you're going not only the Vegas thing. Did you read that? The whole thing? No. You didn't read the whole thing. I'll read it to him. You can sure read it to him in the break, but he's going to the wind hotel or the encore and he's seeing the show awakening if it's the grand prize. It felt like we were light on something. Yeah. And then he also gets the tickets to the wine and food tasting festival. That's an event worthy of somebody who knows who the people, purple people leaders are. I hope for free time, we're going to cover a couple of different things here, including Shohei Otani's potential post-season pitching plans. Crisello, Matt Scrabby, together in the Odyssey Palace studios, Tony going junior at Petco Park, Padres and Astros tonight. One thing about Shohei Otani, he just came up to bat here to lead off the game against the Braves and his culture is fantastic. You know who he just tipped his cap to when he came up to get ready to get into the batter's box? No. Like, actually faced the person, tipped his cap and then stepped into the batter's box. The only thing I could think of is like Bobby Cox or something. Well, Bobby Cox, no. I don't think so. Does he pass away? I don't. I don't think he did. It's a close call, but he didn't. I think he did. I'm going to look what you're saying. Adam's listening somewhere and he's like, "You idiots." I don't think he is. No, he didn't tip his cap to the catcher. He didn't tip his cap to the umpire. He tipped his cap. No, he's still alive, Bobby Cox. Bobby Cox, okay. He tipped his cap to the guy, the in-stadium camera guy who was running out on the field, shooting him come up to bat. You know how they... Wow, yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a guy on the field always with the camera as these guys come up. Show you, Tony tipped his cap to him before he stepped into the batter's box. Well, when you get that media training, you know, I guess so. You always know where every camera is so you'll get caught betting on things. All right. I know. I'm going a little crazy. Taking shots. No, you know, I... I thought it was kind of an interesting... I was like, "Hey, this guy salutes everybody." Show you how Tony is hard to hate. He... You found a way, though. He's... I don't hate him. Yes, you do. I think he's annoying. You think he got away with one. He's annoying because he deferred $600 and you're like... What's he annoying about? $90 million of $700 million, but I don't find that annoying if I'm a Dodger fan. Anyway, he's up at bat. The Dodgers and Braves are underway. Now, before the game, Dave Roberts was asked about show hay potentially pitching in the postseason. Remember we talked about that a little bit? Yes. Last week. Dave Roberts said he's not ruling it out entirely, but he said it's really a long shot. So that's where that stands. Dave Roberts is not going to totally pigeonhole himself just in case, but I really get the feeling Dave Roberts is not planning on show hay pitching in the postseason. One guy is not going to pitch in the postseason's glass now. He's pretty much done now. Tyler Glass now? He's not going to be pitching at all in the postseason? No, I don't think so. Don't look like I had another setback. He's done. He's done. Let's talk about that for a second. Because, like, Tyler Glass now seems like a nice guy too, so I don't want to be too bad. But you think he's soft? But he never finishes a season. I don't understand how these teams don't take that into account when they pay these guys. I don't disagree with that. You would think somebody like Glass now who's been hurt like 16 or 17 times, the Dodgers before they gave him all that money would, you know, take that into consideration. I don't disagree with you, but I mean, screw it up because they'll be like, hey, we'll give you 200 million dollars. But when he was pitching, he was, you know, as good as there was in the league. But yeah, it doesn't do you any good when you're not pitching. Speaking of guys that can't stay healthy, we jumped to football. And this is what you get. You personally get. Are you telling me? Yes. No, I'm talking to you. This is what you get personally for not, you know, just doing the right thing and applauding your best friend, Kevin O'Connell, for beating the 49ers. Now the tables have turned on you. 49ers wide receiver, Deebo Samuel, calf injury, gonna miss multiple weeks. Talk about a guy. Oh boy. Yeah. He doesn't stay healthy either. Right? No, it just really bothers me. I'm sorry. This really bothers me. The soft tissue injuries, Chris, really bother me. I need to see a bone taken out of your leg. Maybe this guy should have gone into badminton instead of football because if you got, yeah, if you're to get too many soft tissue injuries, it doesn't work. Did George Kittle have a bathroom emergency yesterday? That was another aspect of that 49er game. I was watching, I was playing against Kittle in the fantasy. And yeah, they said third quarter, George Kittle just went off to the locker room on a cart. Oh no, he's out for the season. I didn't think that. I just thought, at least I don't have to play him the rest of the day in fantasy. Next thing I looked up, he was catching the ball and making 15 20 more yards. Apparently it was not a bathroom break, Scrabie. Apparently he was a little dehydrated. That's what they say. They say cramps. The cramps could be anything. Right. Could have been a bathroom break. Fair enough. Could have been a crap, but maybe. Yeah. Can you imagine? Well, all right. I don't want to get too out. I don't want to understand the cramps. I don't want to go with this, but how do I say this? This is really really good. I'm struggling. I'm struggling. Cover your, cover your little kids ears. No, I, I mean, sometimes you have to go and it wouldn't hurt to have a cart to get you where you need to go. Yes. Right. Kidding me. Like, could you imagine having to walk off in front of 40,000, 60, 80,000 people. Doing the wattle. Doing kind of the, the wattle to the locker room. So I can see that maybe that's why he needed the cart, but he did come right back in the game. Like, there was no problem at all. When I was a drinker, I used to have massive stomach problems, but wonder why. That's my plan. I was golfing one day, Chris, and my stomach was killing me. And I was all the way out on like hole number 12 and there were no bathrooms. So I had to, I had to hoof it. Don't, maybe we should just kind of know why I thought this subject is good, but it was brutal. I can't even imagine doing it in front of a bunch of people in the stadium. I think we've all been there in one way or the other. So Deebo Samuel out joins Christian McCaffrey, 49ers, you know, to me, I'm only saying this, but I still think they're a Super Bowl team, but not for a while. If Chris McCaffrey comes. Well, they're not a Super Bowl team right now. I mean, they're missing two guys. I wish to, you know, they're playing the Rams this week. The Rams don't have Puka Nakula nor Cooper Cup, who's now out. Yeah, the Rams are terrible. It's going to be a weird game this weekend. No two teams. No two teams. All right. So, and there was one other thing I wanted to do in this Pope re-segment, but yeah, it's kind of escaped me wasn't someone said George Kittle soil himself. No, he did not wait a minute. You don't know that for sure. I think we would have heard about that. I mean, since you out, you do. I think that would have become new. You think that would have been, oh, you remember the best one? Somebody would have told you somebody would have announced that from the 49er locker room. The reason George Kittle left the game is he's soiled. Well, don't you think the other team would be like smell it or something? All right. This is the worst segment we've ever had. No, it's not. That's it. It's the worst thing. Okay. Last thing. Remember when Lamar Jackson made last thing? I'm giving you another shot at this with Lamar Jackson had to waddle into the locker room during Monday night football. You remember that? He came out and he was like a new man. It's a big five time. We have got to get out of here quickly to save ourselves. Dodgers did not score in the first Mets nationals are scoreless in the second. Padres Astros later Diamondbacks Rockies in the little while scoreboard update. It's about the only thing I can think of after that segment. Hey NFL fans. Wow, I can't believe it guys that we are just two weeks away from the major league baseball regular season being over. It seems like the season went really fast and really slow all at the same time. I don't know how Tony feels, but that's at least to where I feel. You can speak for yourself. I was going to say it's much different when you're there every single day doing working. So in yesterday, let's just get into it. Yesterday, the Padres won an extra inning game and this year they're nine in one in extra inning games, which is a massive improvement over last season where they went to and 12. It's the complete opposite from last year. And there is one theory being brought forth by Jake Cronoworth as to why it's changed. He said yesterday, quote, think the biggest thing is we're not putting that pressure on ourselves to make it happen. It's just a continuation of the game. We go out there and have good at bats. It's not like it's turning into this thing where guys make it bigger than what it is. End quote. Chris, what is the biggest force behind this turnaround? There's two things. And I don't disagree with Jake at all. I'm sure that they have that feeling and they have that confidence in the dugout in the locker room. And I think that has a lot to do with it. I think the main reason they're winning an extra innings this year is because they have a better bullpen than anyone. And when you get to the extra innings, it's a battle of bullpen. And I'm going to take the Padres bullpen almost every time. So I think that's probably the best, you know, tangible reason. But there's one other thing at work here. And I want everybody to understand that I have not used this phrase all season. I know where you're going because last year, the phrase did not work. And the phrase is, water finds its level. Last year, I kept saying it and it never happened. Guess what? It's happening this year. Water has found its level. You go from two and 12 to nine and one, baseball. That's how it works. So those are the things from me. Tony, what's the biggest force behind this turnaround in extra innings? I agree with Jake from a 20,000 foot view, right? They're not putting the same pressure on herself. It does seem like a continuation of game. I think the bullpen would be a little short-sighted because the Padres didn't have that bullpen until August 1st. And so all the games prior to that, they did pretty well without that bullpen. And I think it boils down to the foundation that was built early in camp and Mike Schilt, you know, making it a priority that these guys could situational hit and that they paid attention to what the scoreboard was. And that kind of bleeds into what Jake is saying. But yeah, it's a continuation of the game because they've been doing it for the entire game. And so it's not as though they need to put any pressure to just continue to execute the way they have. And that's led to a fantastic record in extra innings. You got to remember, you know, Padres haven't started at home when they're at home, they're not starting hitting. You know, they're pitching first when they go to the top of 10. So yeah, you got to be able to hold there. But the Padres have also done a terrific job on the road of scoring first and scoring multiple times. So I just think that they've done a good job of not making it too big. But more importantly, this is a part of who they've been the entire season. And I think that's why it's materialized the way it has. Has water found any level at all, Tony? Well, yeah, technically, yeah, that was last year. And when in extra innings, no matter what they tried, except at the very end and in this year, they can't seem to lose. I mean, yes, water has found its level. Oh, it took for Chris. It took a long time, but it finally happened. Yes. Yes, it did. Number four, the Bengals star receivers for unsportsman like conduct in the fourth quarter of their loss yesterday to the Chiefs, falling an interaction that officials said crossed the line. The issue behind this whole flag and crossing the line to the referee stems from a hip drop tackle that Jamar Chase thought what should have been called on Trent McDuffie. Anyway, it's a controversial tackle. We've talked about it a lot on this show, and it happened a lot yesterday with a lot of commentators saying it's kind of crazy that they only send notices out during the week with fines for people who do this and not penalize them on the field. So, Tony, should they be penalizing players on the field for hip drop tackles? Wait, so it's not an actual penalty? They can't call the penalty. I think it's supposed to be, but nobody's called one. Yeah. Yeah. And so then they find you during the week. I hate it. I'm glad that they can go back and look at the fine, but they need to be penalized. And usually, I'm so surprised with the NFL officials because usually when there's a new where we're introduced, they go hard. They usually overdo it. They overdo it. And the fact that this one in particular has to do with kind of safety, the fact that they're not. I saw two of them personally. I saw the Chase one, and then I saw the mixing one in the texting game. And neither of those were called. And, you know, I didn't know that's what Jamar Chase got the penalty for was for cursing out basically the referee for not calling it. But after I found out, I feel him, especially in his situation. He is already playing when he feels like he should be getting a new contract. He's not going to negotiate the rest of the season. So I just want to caution every official. He's going to be a high alert all season long. You might get cussed out more than once by Jamar Chase because anything that he feels like is a detriment to his health, he's going to react. Now you'd like to see him be able to handle it better, but in some ways, I understood where he was coming from, being that irritated, knowing that could be a broken leg, a torn knee. And he hasn't got his bag yet, Tony, and he hasn't got his bag yet. So yeah, man, I think they need to be calling these penalties because, honestly, that as much as we hate it when they go overboard, I think it sends the right message and then they can kind of course correct afterwards. But now everybody's going to be looking for it. And now as you start to call it, people are going to feel some type of weight as you're reacting to the previous week's fodder that we're on the air talking about. The referee's name is Alex Kemp, and they asked him after the game what was said. He wouldn't reveal what he said, but he said it went from being like, "He did the moment thing to a personal attack, so I can only imagine what Jamar Chase said." I can only imagine too. Chris, should they be penalizing players in the field for this? And the Bengals should know by now, they're not going to penalize any Kansas City Chiefs for anything. This is true. This is true. We already talked about this in the good, bad, and ugly. So that's kind of the joke part of it. Chiefs seem like to get away with everything. But yeah, they absolutely should call it because players' health is in question here. And I am surprised that they haven't overdone it the way they often do. But there's one other thing at work here, and Tony touched on most of it. The Cincinnati Bengals' ownership needs to take a little responsibility for these kinds of things that are happening with Jamar Chase. You continue to lowball your superstar players, and they go out and they're playing angry because of the way they're being treated by you. Don't be surprised if they lose their cool and cost you a football game. I mean, look at their top two wide receivers have contract issues with the team. The Bengals are not a good franchise. No. They have a good quarterback and a really good coach and defensive coordinator. But this is where the franchise hurts the team. Taking care of players, they take it out on the field. I think that had something to do with it. I also think, and I don't know what he said, so we can't totally comment. But as an official tie game or one point game, four minutes to go, third down, I'd like to see you be able to take a little more before the flag comes out. But again, we don't know what was said. Sounds pretty like I just imagine it being pretty bad. No, I know. I'm just saying. You can imagine a dude who already, as Chris just pointed out, feels like his organization isn't doing him right. He already feels like he's virtually out there playing somewhat naked. And a big play happens. You can imagine the steam that was coming. I mean, you could see it. Joe Pearl was trying to calm him down and it was like he didn't even see Joe Pearl. He was still yelling when he got back to the bench. Chase was so quick, yes or no answer on this, Tony, our hip drop tackle offenders playing dirty now. Yeah. Now you know that's a rule and you're still doing it. Yes. Okay, Chris. They're taking advantage of it until they get called for it. So I guess all's fair and loving war. Reports out of San Francisco are shedding more light on how Matt Chapman closes long-term deal with the Giants and it seems to have taken Buster Posey as the negotiator that closed the deal. Andrew Baggerly of NBC Sports, the area wrote quote, "It was an ownership group that viewed resigning Chapman as a slam dunk. It did not trust Farhand's I-80 and Scott Boris to finish at the rim," end quote. While Posey's involvement did stem from ownership's impatience with Farhand and the negotiations, it also allowed the Giants to avoid interference from Boris who was telling Chapman that San Francisco's offer could be a potential floor in free agency this winter, according to Baggerly. So I guess maybe Tony can explain this a little bit, but Luxury's I-80 didn't have his president of baseball operations, like tampering maybe. Chris, you're up first though. Is this a bad sign for the future of Farhand's I-80? And it's so confusing of a story and until Tony tells me what the, if you go first? Well if anybody knows the facts, I mean if Farhand's I-80 doesn't have control to sign a player, not sign a player, then that is an issue, but it's really difficult to comment because I'm not, I don't know the inner workings of the Giants. I accept your answer. Tony, can you shed some light on this or? Okay, well you know, first of all, any report that's coming from an outside source, you have to be leery on things like he was being told that it was the floor of free agency. Who would have said that in this article? A person on the giant site? Probably. Probably wasn't somebody on the other side, so we don't actually know if that's what Forrest was saying. However, I do think this is a problem for Zaidi because, um, how many times have they swinging missed a free agency? A lot. A lot. You called Tony. They had the, uh, Corea Dillon hand, that ended up blowing up, he seemed to be doing perfectly fine in Minnesota right now, um, and so the mere fact that Buster Posey had to step in and basically play GM in order to seal this deal, I don't know if I'm in that ownership group. I'm kind of looking at Zaidi in some kind of way, like we've missed out on Judge, missed out on Corea, there was somebody, the free agency before that that I'm not, that I can't remember, but then we get, uh, Buster in here and he just knocks it out and he saw the same thing that we do and then it brings me to my next point. Maybe this should make Buster Posey GM. Well, if Buster wants to be-- Oh, he's going, he's going, he's going, he's like, I don't want to do this full-time. I'll top it here. If you want to, I'll be a guest appearance. Um, I think the other thing is this is, but Corea is, is certainly at the edge of, you know, analytics and how they view things and, you know, when you're trying to put guys into these boxes that these analytics and stuff tell you, you know, why it should be a good deal. It almost looks, seem like, as I, he is looking for the perfect free agent deal and it doesn't exist. The reality is, when you sign these long-terms with the exception of very bonds, there's only one I can think of offhand that like lived up to his contract and beyond, right? Through the whole thing. After that, you're going to get diminished returns as they get older. That is just a fact, every single one of them. So I don't know, it just almost feels like he's always looking for like the perfect deal. When I get the right production for the entirety of this deal and so that I can, you know, feel good and not look crazy that I signed this guy. And I don't think those, those deals really exist. I think all of us get old and we get less productive, especially in sports. And so yeah, I think this is, I think this could be a bad sign. Plus, he's been there for a long time, shelf life's on GM's, whew, they don't, they ain't long. That's for sure. Yeah, I think this, I think this could be a bad sign for him. I just looked up kind of the free agent fails for the Giants real quick in farhand and they were, they went after judges. We said, Oh, Tawny also was a guy. They went after Bryce Harper was someone they went after, Yoshinobu Yamamoto was a guy they went after. So there's a lot of swings and misses, no pun intended, Chris, anything on this? No, I got, gave you what I had and then Tony hit it out of the pocket. Yeah, man, I just love that you're just putting forth every single ounce of effort into this show. Welcome. He took it as like an insult and it wasn't an insult L.A.P.G.A. L.A.P.G.A. Solheim cup, which is like the writer cup for the women team Europe member Charlie whole is enjoying a pretty nice year on the golf course and her popularity has risen a lot this year. Her, some people are not happy with a bad habit of her. Have you guys seen this? She is one of the few pro golfers that still smokes cigarettes on the golf course. So she's even signing autographs while enjoying a nice dart, she's from England. So you know, I don't know that that's still a thing anymore where some countries are, you know, better smokers. I don't think it's fair to blame this on England. I think this is anyway blaming it on England. So someone's not to picture her signing an autograph with a big old cigarette in her mouth and they were like, shouldn't she probably not be smoking around children and around everybody else. So Tony, should the PGA tour, it's not against the rules. Should the PGA tour to L.P.G.A. tour ban smoking during their events? Is she outside? Yeah, of course. I don't know. It just seemed really weird in this day to just see a professional quote unquote athlete smoking darts as they're heading down the fairway. I know it might seem outrageous to believe we don't see all professional athletes 24/7. That's true. There could be professionals. I'm sure many of them. There's many of them. There's many of them. But between the lines, I think is where. Yeah, I mean, yeah, I think during the, I think during the event, you know, if she's in action, they probably should, you know, have a no cigarette policy or at least have like a, you know, they got like a club house. Smoking, Gary. She didn't get back to the clubhouse. Can't she? Come on. Go to the porta potty, duck into the porta potty in the seventh hole and have a quick, you know, drag. I think that was it. What, how long are you on the course? Usually four. Five hours probably. That's a long one. That's a long one. She said it helps her. She said it helps her to calm down and some smokers think that major league baseball to smoke cigarette there in their starts, you know, it's just really, we talked about Ed Wits and sitting in the head with in the hallway back in the day for the Padres. Yeah. He's not the only one. What was the whole thing with House on Kim and smoking cigarettes? I can't remember at this point. Smoked cigarettes. Yeah. I mean, he did. I don't know. He's not out on the field. I think the easy answer here is if you're between the lines, I mean, between the ropes, you know, please, you know, just up between the ropes. Yes. It's between the ropes. It's between the ropes. Yeah. And it's doing like, it's a really bad. Come on. I mean, she's representing the LPGA. Yeah. Yeah. Nothing. I do. Nothing like a good cloud of smoke going up in the air. That's pretty comical. I got to tell you. She hit a shot yet with a cigarette dangling from her lips. No, I don't think she, no, no, no, I never seen anything. It's in between holes as she's going from hole four to five. Yeah. That we're walking down the fairway or just signing autographs. I know I've seen John Daley hit some shots with a cigarette. I've seen John Daley hit a shot out of a guy laying on the ground holding a tee in his mouth. So John Daley's done some crazy things. I think this is a bad look though for the LPGA and I think they should step in. I do. All right. Don't be so serious. How about this bad look, but they should definitely, yeah, they should definitely rectify the situation. Number one. Get her a cigarette sponsor. What happened to those? Marlboro. Bring to the big old Marlboro. LPGA tour event. I remember growing up seeing that can't happen and it was real cool. Okay. Used to have. I know this is something that only I would bring to the show. But yesterday during the Packers and Colts game, the Packers center was caught vomiting all over the field before the snaps saw that. I think this is disgusting and this is gross and whatever else word I can think of for this. Colts defenders are right there and they play through it, which credit to them. But Chris, should you allow to play if you were throwing up on the field during the game? I watched the clip, at least what I could see of the clip and it came to light after the game because Matt LaFloor, the Packers coach, was asked why his quarterback ran a scramble on a third and long. And Matt LaFloor said he asked his quarterback, Malik Willis, why he didn't throw the ball. And he said, because there was throw up all over it and they showed a clip of the flow grows. It looks like the center kind of threw up just as he was snapping the ball. I don't think anybody could have blown a whistle in time. Yeah. To stop the action. Would they stop it? I think, well, I don't think they would either. I mean, look, Donovan McNabb famously was throwing up in the huddle in the Super Bowl where they didn't stop the clock is my point. Yeah. And it went back to, you know, the Eagles weren't, you know, playing fast enough. They were trying to catch up. I didn't hear that part of the story that there was throw up on the ball. So that's why he couldn't throw up. That's what happened according to Matt LaFloor. So, but I think it happened too late for them to do anything. But I think in general, an offensive lineman's throwing up and they're just lining up. I think the rest can step in and stop the clock, get the, let the guy get together for a minute. I don't think that's a problem. Tony, what do you think about this? Should you be allowed to play if someone's throwing up on the field? Yeah. For sure. I mean, yeah. For sure. They let him play bleeding on the field. So throw up. So big deal. Exactly. We've seen the bloody socks. We've seen all kinds of things. Little puke. Although I thought it was, I thought it was funny because you could see the line and try to puke to the right of the ball. He did. He did. He did. He did. He did. I didn't even know that Malik ended up running on that play. Yes. He scrambled. He couldn't get a handle on the ball. That is too fun. And I tell you what, at that point, you know, a guy is really dialed in because, you know, in real life, if someone puked on the bar, are you touching it? No, of course not. Exactly. Like if someone, if it wasn't a game being played and someone puked on the ball, you're like, bro, timeout. I think a timeout is worn. I think it also shows just how intense and physical things can get in the trenches. I don't think we've really realized what's going on down there sometime. It's like it's weak to these guys are still working their way into like full because it's no way to play none of the preseason most of the time. So they're still working their way into shape. So I think you got to be able to play through it. Wow. That's not what I expected. You can rally, baby. I've done that many times in my life, but different, different settings. It's just like, I'll stop because I know I'm over the top of the germs. No over the top. Yes. All right. That's it for the Big Five. We have a big old series coming up between the Padres and the Astros this week. So Chris and I are going to get you set for game one here on 97 through the fan. What was the pregame yesterday, a lot of Roberto Clemente stuff. I didn't get all of it, but you guys were on for like the game start late yesterday. So the game start late and some guys there were 21 yesterday. Some guys didn't wear 21 yesterday. So we're vertical men to anybody who wants, we were vertical men a day, anybody who wants to wear can wear it. Three guys for the Padres, two guys for the Giants. I believe it was Ramos and Eustrymski on their side and I got it. I know Jason Adam Ward for the Padres for the Padres. It was a Fernando Ward, but that's Manny Bogey. No. Oh, yeah. Right. Manny Bogey, Peralta, the Tanner wear it. He wore it. No, Taylor. Jason Adam. Almost sure he did because I remember him pitching and he had 21. I know he was elected for the Roberto Clemente award, he's one of the finalists. I don't know if it might be why he won. No, he did. He did. He did. For sure. He did. So four guys wore for the Padres, two for the Giants. I'm a little surprised why the game was there. Wear that. Tony. I just, I'm a little surprised. More guys didn't wear it, but they didn't feel comfortable with the jersey itself. I don't know. That's how it started for Jackie Robinson. I was one of, I did that, I think the first year of that was 2007. Right. And originally you were asked if you wanted to participate and if you wanted to, you could wear the jersey and then it turned into everybody. Got it. I know there's some, there's some clamoring for Roberto Clemente to change into the same thing and hasn't got there yet, but I certainly wouldn't, I'm not playing anymore. So I don't have a vote in this, but I wouldn't have been opposed to honoring Roberto Clemente on his day. So we'll see how that went. The reason why the game was delayed though was because they honored Orlando Cepeda before the game yesterday and it was funny because, you know, you know, they had the first pitch and they had like all of the giant greats who are still around there. And so they, there's four first pitch and there's four guys catching him. One of the guys catching was Barry, but Barry walked up with a bat and he got into the box and it was funny because everybody knew he was joking, but nobody really wanted to throw the baseball. Like he got time to throw the baseball and they were all hesitant to throw it just in case he swung it. So then he got out of the box. He picked up the glove and he caught the first pitch, but that was, what are the odds he had it in the McCubby Cove, Tony, I would put, I wouldn't put it past him. Let's just say, me neither, me neither, let's just say that. But that was the reason for the delay and yesterday, we got to talk a little bit about our Aztecs. They, yeah. They worked there. Tony could have gone to the game. Oh, no, you had to. It was right in the middle of our game. Trust me, I was kind of, I was rubber-necking it the whole time our game was going on. It's kind of looking to see what was going on. Didn't turn out great for us. No, if they don't. A lot of penalties. Yeah, if they don't stop making penalties, you know, I'm not, not a football coach. I, you know, Sean Lewis, Sean Lewis got to do what he's got to do, but they, he's got to tell them. They can't do the penalties anymore because the rest of the game is almost a moot point, Tony. They can't get out of their own way. They started a freshman redshirt quarterback. The kid played fine, but just like Danny O'Neill before him, you can't do it when it's third and 19 every time because there was a penalty and, you know, they would have, they would have taken the lead in that game in the third quarter. They were down seven to three. They got to pick six guy ran it all the way back for the Aztecs. There was a penalty on the run back and have brought it back 60 yards upfield. 31 to 10 was the final score. I think the Aztecs, you know, wore down a little in the second half. The run defense certainly did. Maybe they got a little dispirited, but to me, if you don't have the penalties, you're winning 10 seven. It's a different game. They've got to stop that. It's almost impossible to tell what kind of a team they have because they can't get out of their own way on these flags. They lead the nation now in penalties, 39 in three games, and those are the only ones that get accepted. Yeah. There's more. That's, that's a good point. I, I think it just, a couple of things stood out to me in a little bit I got to watch is that. Yeah. They certainly seem like they're, they're moving in a better direction than they were for the past couple of seasons, like, despite all of the penalties and all of the things that were going on, they seem like they're moving in the right direction. The penalties are going to be tough for a team like this to overcome. You know, it, I don't know that they're supremely talented enough to be able to overcome those, that many penalties. Like, I don't know if any teams really can overcome it. By the way, Berkeley wasn't that much better in terms of the penalties. They accumulated over that game either, but I, I still walked away. I know we got, we got to beat up pretty good. I still walked away encouraged because I feel like we're still heading in the right direction. I'm with you. I watched the whole game and I feel the same way. I mean, the final score, it's the old, you know, it's the old song and dance of a losing team. It wasn't as bad as the score indicated, but most of that came in the fourth quarter with the game kind of out of reach and they busted a couple of runs. The Aztecs played really well for a long time and they had a backup quarterback the Aztecs did and I thought they were right there with them, but it's almost impossible to get a rating. Like I said, I'd like to see a game with no penalties so that I can actually see, you know, okay, they need to work on this. They need to work on that. No, they had to work on one thing right now. That's it. And you got to have discipline when your guys running a, running a pick six back and a guy steps in front of you, you can't push them in the back. You got to have the discipline. That was a, it was a block that didn't even need to be made. The guy was, you know, taking it to the house. So you know, that's got to change and I don't, I don't have the recipe for Sean Lewis, but I'm liking what I see better, the win's loss thing, not translating, but you know, hopefully, hopefully when they get into conference, they'll do a little better. I know they go Washington state this week or is it an in between game? I don't know. No, I should state like it's later in the season, because I, that's later. That's a game I've circled to maybe possibly taken my family to to go watch. Let me see what I'm looking. Yeah, take it. It's like the 24th or 5th. Oh, that Washington state is October 26th. That's why they're playing at central Michigan, September 20th. So this is a bi week, bi week. Well, I have one, wait, they're playing on September 20th, 28th, 28th. So this is a, okay, this is a bi week. I know what I'm doing. I'm practicing. And if you commit a penalty, you're going right up to the locker room. And that's it for the dead. That's it. In high school, when I'm not even, not even running, you just go send them to the locker you get kicked out. Oh, you know what? Good idea. Run for an hour. Then go to the locker room. You know, in high school, we committed so many penalties. This is the same team I shared with Kevin O'Connell, the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. Did we get around applause for him yet for his performance yesterday? He still has got his record. Do it. But we were bad with penalties at the beginning part of my senior year. And so we would have to run one gasser for every accepted penalty. Even the ones where we had to like take a delay of game to punt, you know, kind of thing. Yeah. And so one day we ran 13 gasters, Chris. I couldn't finish practice. Did you throw up? Yes, I did. I did. There were many. That sounds like a throw up. For anybody who doesn't know what a gasser is, it's 50 yards there, 50 yards back, 50 yards back there, 50 yards back. That's one. That's one. Okay. Yeah. Well, so far the Aztecs, if that were the case, ran 16 gasters after the first game, 10 after the second game and 13 today. It honestly gives me the shivs. It's too much. It's just absolutely too much. I mean, you know, I like this running game, Cooper 87 yards, 22 carries for the plus, you know, the quarterback didn't, you know, didn't bother me, played all right under the circumstances, but I don't know what you're supposed to do when you just get, you know, whistled for everything you do. So yeah, you can't do much. The other story, Popery story, Bryce Young, first round pick of last year, all right, man that Chris likes to pick on a lot. I got his job. I feel bad. I feel bad. Listen, I'll give you a little bit. It's not unheard of for a high pick to be benched and then get his job back later. And after hearing some of the commentary on why they did it, it makes a lot of sense. I was listening to Marcus Spears talking about it. I didn't watch that game, but he did. And what it was apparent is that this is a guy who does has no confidence at all at this point. Yeah. When you get to that, yeah, when you get to that point this early in the season is only week two, you probably have to make somewhat of a change so that, you know, he can possibly get his confidence back because right now, you know, based on the type of team they have, it might be hard. It's probably be better off actually watching who is a Dalton. Yeah, and he's still going. I couldn't help but think about what Tom Brady said as this was going on about how he thinks more quarterbacks should sit when they come into the league. Because I mean, right now there's a lot of proof saying that that's the best way to go. Whether we're talking love or we're talking Rogers, the old Rogers now, but it wasn't like that at the beginning, whether we're talking about homes, Brady, the really good quarterbacks that have success early in their time, you know, and that's not all of them. Some of them come in and they have success right away, but there seems to be a pretty good record of guys who've sat and then played and been able to kind of go from there. I'll tell you, if the Bears had another option, I think they might give Caleb Williams a couple of games off. He's really, really struggle. And you know, I don't, I don't hold it against these guys. I'm not a huge Caleb Williams fan, but like I've said, but this has got to be the hardest position to play in all sports, being quarterback for an NFL team. And you're asking these guys to come right in, right away, usually on bad teams and try to do it. And the success level, other than CJ Stroud, right, there's very few who can, who can pull it off. And I wouldn't be shocked if Stroud took a step or two back this year and they didn't loot it up yet. So a couple of other quick NFL notes, Cooper Cup could go on the IR, which I are though, the season IR, the four game. I don't know. Just says ankle or dream. There's a bunch of, there's a bunch of IRs today, man. But the Rams already don't have a receiver, Pacheco six to eight weeks. But don't worry. Don't fret. Chiefs fans. Kareem Hunt is coming back to the Kansas City Chiefs to take Pacheco's spot. I, whatever, say whatever you want, I know these guys all deserve second and third chance chances. But it just doesn't matter what kind of character you're off the field. If you can carry the football, they'll hire you. So I think there's some people who feel similar about Kareem Hunt continuing to play. But that's the story of there for Kansas City and they lose Pacheco. You mean that's the story? You mean the refs and they're like, we'll get into that in the good, bad, and then everything else. I know you're going to be upset about that. You think that the, you know, he thinks the NFL sits around and plans for ways that the Chiefs to win. This is what happens when your team gets their face slapped in the Super Bowl a couple of times. You just forever hate one team. It's, well, that doesn't hurt. Let me tell you, it doesn't hurt, but it just seems like the Chiefs pull it out every time. Hey, when you're really good, you make your own luck. That's what happens. You know, it's funny. There was a, there was also a tweet that came out today of Patrick Mahomes walking around the field after a loss to the bills. I think it was last year at home. Oh, when the penalty thing, yes, and all Patrick Mahomes is going, these guys suck. They're terrible. They're terrible. These refs suck. They're terrible. This is awful. And the people are tweeting it out like Patrick, man, you might want to calm down a little bit. I do remember him being quite upset. People were like, Hey, bro, there you go. Listen goes, it cuts both ways, but that was a tough pill to swallow for the bangles yesterday. I'd agree with that. Scrape. All right, let's, let's get to break. I have to jam out of here to hear Mr. Mike Schilt. I will be back and my friends will keep the party going a little daily gambit coming up next. No, no, no. Yeah, some friend you are going in Chris 97 through the fan. I'm Chris Scrabie. Tony's running around. He'll be back for more of the show, including The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, which comes up shortly. Our recap of NFL week two also big five will have Tony a little later. But here's the news, five o'clock hour today, and we're only on till about 5.35. So it's a 35 minute stretch there. During that time, we're going to give away a pair of tickets to the pop this Wednesday. And I believe, don't hold me to this, Scrab, I believe Wednesday is Fernando Tatisse platinum glove, bobblehead giveaway day, the final in the serum. Yes. It is. Yeah. So Wednesday, not only two tickets to see the Padres Astros, but you get the Fernando bobblehead, the platinum glove bobblehead Wednesday. Those tickets up for grabs in the five o'clock hour. I will tell everybody ahead of this study up on your Houston Astros trivia has normally where I go with stuff like this, because they're playing the Astros. I'll probably give you an Astros question. If you get it, you'll go see the Padres and Astros on Wednesday. Tonight is game one of the series final game of the homestand. Life is good to be a Padre right now. After they sweep the Higante's potters are three and a half clear of the wildcard right now, Mets without Francisco Lindor, home to Washington tonight, Braves home to the Dodgers. Those games get underway in the four o'clock hour, about an hour from right now. There's also many night football tonight, Falcons and the Eagles, the battle of the birds coming up later on. We will not be carrying the game here tonight because we have Padre baseball, of course. Yes. That is what's going on. We gave you some of the NFL headlines in the last segment. Here is a little news on the Padres, which includes tonight's lineup. Louisa rise 13 game hit streak now, scrape. And he's hitting 900 during no four fifty six, wait, what seems like he's hitting 900. He does. I mean, he gets at least two, sometimes three a game. I'm going to stop defending him. I'm just going to let him defend himself. I don't need to defend him anymore. He's so good. I love this guy. Three twenty two is now the batting average. He's on his way to his third straight batting title, Tony Gwyn among a handful of people in history of ever won three straight batting titles, Rod Carrue Cabrera, I think was the last Miguel Guerra. So there's not many guys who do it. He hasn't struck out in a hundred and one forty something like that. Something like that. Great played appearance. That's what Sammy tweeted out. 140. Yeah. I think one peer 147 is ahead of him. Yeah. But man, and you know what? He gets two strikes on him all the time and then they try everything. They can't strike him out. He just, yeah, it's just he's got a gift. He's got a gift. And off at DH, Fernando's and right, Pro Fars and left, Machado's the third, Maryland center, Bogart's Croninworth, Solano at first. We didn't even talk about Solano's, whoa, it was a five for five to the night, four for five, you know, and he played some good defense yesterday. I know he had a ball get away from him, but he made some good plays in that game down at third. He'll be at first base tonight. Higashyoka's catching for Darvish. Sweet. I will say this. The young right hander pitching for Houston tonight. I think he's a rookie Spencer Arreghetti. Yeah. Seven and 12, four point seven, two. Don't let that fool you. This guy's pitched really well lately, so he's not getable. He's had some good games. He probably getable, but he's had some really good outings of late late in his rookie season. So no pushover there. All right. Daily gambit winners, losers. How do we do? Do you like money? I think about money a lot. Do you like money without doing anything? Uh, duck, winning. Do you want to make money while watching sports? I think Washington is immortal luck. Washington, woo hoo! If you answer yes, this is your segment. Just don't blame us when you lose. Nothing is ever your fault. It's okay. Take it. Gwen and Chris go through the top bets of the day in The Daily Gambit. On 97.3, the fan. Daily gambit is our daily sports bag segment here on Gwen and Chris. Please, everybody gamble responsibly. Currently, on ESPN, Jason Kelsey is sitting outside of Lincoln Financial Field in like a green jumpsuit. And I guess he's going to be joining Trikeman and Joe Buck in the booth tonight. Chaelin Hurts would rather have him hiking the ball. I think so too. Because that's a big story with the Eagles right now. The push push is no more. At least in game one, it did not work without Jason Kelsey. So we'll see if you do it tonight. Some people are like, please don't let them in the locker room, get the coaches to get them to come out of retirement to play. You never know. Alright. Dylan Sees on Friday night against the Giants. Over under six and a half strikeouts. All of us went over and all of us were correct. 10 strikeouts. Great game for Dylan and congratulations on 1000 in his career. Which was actually a walk. Which I liked what he said. He said, somebody had a must grow over somebody asked him, why didn't you get 1000 strikeouts earlier? And he said, I don't have that good a command. Sees said, if you had it, he said I'd have more. Alright. I like that. I like that. Sees had a number of innings pitched in the game. Dylan Sees who pitched more is what I'm trying to say. Him or Logan Webb, and you guys said Logan Webb, I said Dylan Sees went six. Logan Webb went four. You know, we've talked a lot about Fernando's home run last night, but how about his home run Friday night? That set the tone of the series. Just like that. Two nothing and then you get a sacrifice from Bogart's. Yeah, that's pretty good. Yeah. Now Kansas State football, seven point favorites over Arizona. You guys chose Arizona. I chose case date, case date one, 31 of the seven. Yeah, route. Now you guys chose Tennessee on this one. I chose Kent State, but Tennessee was 49 point favorites over Kent State and they just crushed Kent State, 71 to nothing. So they are going to be telling her in the amount. Did we remember our story last week about shortening a game and whether it's an official game to better? I don't know. But 71 to nothing. I wonder if they played running clock in the fourth quarter or what if one of the coaches is like, no, we're playing it out. We're playing at least 55 minutes so these people can get paid. Yeah. Right. Dodgers Braves on Friday over under eight and a half total runs in the game. Chris went over. Tony and I went under and we barely were right. It was six to two Braves. So eight runs total. Yeah. Asia Wilson of the WNBA over at her 27 points scored on Friday night. Kristen Tony said over. I said under. She was under 15. And finally, Kaitlyn Clark over under eight and a half assists in the game. Chris and I went under Tony went over and she barely went over with nine. Yeah. Kaitlyn Clark is don't look now. The second half of her season has been all that and then some. She's been that good. What did Tony call her on Friday? Oh, a Hooper. She's a Hooper. She's good. They showed a great clipper for the other night driving for a layup going down, stealing a ball, throwing behind the back pass, getting it back, stepping back, hitting a three, just like a sequence that, you know, just like great basketball. You know, I'm glad. Well, at least for now that she is living up to it, because it's funny to see the leg live up against her. People stop hating too much too much hate in the world out there. Yes. All right. Tonight Falcons and Eagles. 35 and a half points, baby, over under 45 and a half. I got to think that the Falcons are going to open up that playbook a little bit. I'm going to go over. I think this is an over Eagles are a scoring team, Kirk cousins. I mean, say what you want, it's not going to be that bad two weeks in a row. It's a second game. You should feel a little better. This is a good one here. Kevin Robinson or sequan Barkley, who's going to have more rushing plus receiving yards? That is a good one. I'm playing against Barkley in fantasy. So yeah, I already know the answer to this, you want Barkley's going to sweat it out, make me sweat it out. He's going to get a lot of rushing receiving yards. I'll take him. Who do you got? Barkley or Beijon. I know that Beijon is a highly touted. He's really, really great, but I haven't really seen it yet. Enough from him? Not yet. So I'm going to go with sequas. You're going to Barkley also. Devonta Smith over under 73 and a half yards. Remember, AJ Brown is out tonight for the Eagles. Yes, that is a good point. I mean, Devonta goes wild, Scrappy. 73 and a half. You know, I just didn't like how their passing game looked in the first game. I'm going to say under for week two for Devonta. My wife has Devonta Smith and her league, so I'll say over for her. Would you? Let me ask you, we talked about this for a second with Tony. My wife is beating Tony by one point. He doesn't have any players going, so she's already won. She has Devonta Smith. The savvy fantasy player would actually go in and take him out of the lineup. See, I don't know if that's savvy. Why not? Well, because A goes against the spirit of the entire game. I agree with that 100%. But if he doesn't end around and fumbles on the first carry and gets a minus two and then is out for the rest of the game, she could actually still lose. What is the likelihood that's going to happen? Very low. Very low. I think. And also, the points matter throughout the year. So if he has like a 30 point game and you're tied at the end of the year, you're going to be like, I shouldn't have sat on that one game. Right. I would play him. I'm going to tell her to play him. I mean, come on. That's the spirit of the game. Yes. The spirit of the game, like you said. Yeah. It's under 39 and a half rushing yards. Ooh. He was about 39 last week. I know. They always do this. Um, he's going to need to go over without AJ Brown. I think he'll say some more. Say over. I'm going to say under. Under. Okay. We go to baseball now. Dodgers are a run and a half over the Braves. It's a tough one here. If you're a Padre fan, Padre game means more than anything, but who do you root for here? You're three and a half ahead of the Braves, but you're also only three and a half behind the Dodgers with three games to play against the Dodgers. I'm thinking division still. You're still thinking division. I'm going to get the Braves, yes, they've been beaten up on the Dodgers except the ninth inning yesterday. Yeah, it's true. I'll take the Braves. Your guy Paul Skeens last ditch effort for rookie of the year, six and a half strikeouts against the Cardinals. This is always his number. It is. And he usually goes over. Yeah. So I'll say over. I've got a question on the chat, okay, is Jackson Merrill still the front runner and no one else has done anything crazy. So yes, you know what one for 19 recently, but he turned that this weekend with five hits and a couple of RBIs. Yeah, it wouldn't hurt Jackson to hit a couple more homers and win another game, but I think he's still in front. Yes. Yeah. Who you got here? Skeets over, over and finally, Padre's Astros eight runs tonight squared over under. Uh, both teams obviously can score. I'm going to go over. I think this is a good pitcher's duel. I think Darvish is kind of getting it back together. And I told you, I'm, I like this arageti kid for the Astros. All right. We'll see how we do tomorrow. In the meantime, we take a break. When we come back, one of our favorite segments of the week, well, wrapping up week two of the NFL with the good, the bad and the ugly next on Gwen and Chris. I have you like better training cuisine. I'll be why I'm still in. Hey, did I talk over? What happened? I, I've been sitting over here being like, all right, Chris, I'm going to play this audio clip and all I didn't hear you. All right. Let's hear the audio clip. Sorry. It's okay. It's okay. What was it? Well, I don't like to talk over Jackson. I feel bad. It's okay. It's okay. It's been awesome. You know, I never played in front of atmosphere like this. Not a lot of people have still and they're in the new week. So it's, it's really special and I'm just thankful it's gone by really, it's gone by really fast. You know, it seems like a blink of an eye on the screen training. Another day in the, in the season. He was asked about how he feels playing in front of the Padres fans in a pen or not a pen. They love it. They love him. Of course. As they should. All right. Sorry about that, Jackson. I was trying to tell everybody that Mediterranean food is our go to around here. And if you like, uh, sparrows, Greek Mediterranean, fantastic, Coronado, Lohoyo and, uh, online sparrows, cuisine.com. All right. We're going to get into our good, bad and ugly recap of week number two in the national football league. Before we do that, quick reminder for those of you trying to get a late, you know, pick in for the Monday night football game, Kirk cousin starting for the Falcons tonight brings a nine game Monday night football losing streak into the game solid. It's the longest streak of any quarterback in NFL history. He's lost nine straight Monday night football games, something you make care or not care about heading into tonight's game between the Falcons and the Eagles. In the meantime, we'll check traffic, then let's go back and revisit the good, the bad and the ugly of week two. All right. Away we go week two in the national football league, uh, all wrap up tonight with the Monday night football game between the Falcons and the Eagles, a game for the birds. Scrammy says, uh, but week two, lots of a good, lots of bad and even some ugly. So let's get right to it. We'll start with the good and I think you have to start with the, uh, red, hot New Orleans Saints. They look like they're for real or at least quarterback Derek Carr does. He had, uh, he had led 15 consecutive scoring drives to open the season by the time he was done with the Cowboys yesterday and Kamara had four TDs in the blowout. Derek Carr, with a beautiful throw, Shaheed got behind the defense. This is a big nice win for the Saints 44, 19, but Tony, this happens to the Cowboys from time to time where it seems like they just don't even show. Yeah. Uh, it's funny to me, cowboy fans were feeling quite, you know, good about themselves after last week. They signed all their players, they went out and bow raised and we talking Super Bowl after week one as we typically do with the, with the Dallas Cowboys, but we also have plenty of weeks like this where basically a no show, and I'll tell you what, for all of the crap that people give Dak Prescott, it's their defense. That is the problem. What can I stop, they can't stop to run at all. And next week you got the biggest, baddest running back coming your way in Derek Henry. So I don't know that it's going to get better that being both teams are going to chance to be 0 and three after next week, lot, lot of concern there in the America's, America's favorite team there. Sorry about that big D. You got routed the Saints have out scored their first two opponents 91 to 29 Derek Carr people. All right. Also good yesterday was the performance of Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals. Now Murray's been looking for somebody to play with and he might have found somebody in a hot shot rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison for catches 132 or 30 yards, two touchdowns in the first quarter as the Cardinals ran away from the Rams. I, I, I especially enjoyed that. Kyler Murray has received a lot of slander because people like, you know, in our, in our society, we have such short memories and we just forget how good he was when he was healthy. Um, and you know, it was fun to watch him really just go to work and in all the above about him not throwing the ball to Marvin Harrison or throwing it to him only a couple of times in the first, uh, first game. It all got ironed out week two fake to Connor, hurry on the roll out looking deep for Harrison. Oh, Marvin Harrison, tune now to the end zone touchdown again. Marvin Harrison looked awfully good. I, I want to say this though, the two touchdowns are the ones to Harrison. We keep seeing the third one that he threw to the backup tight end where he ran around and escape the rush for about 10 minutes. That's Kyler Murray at his absolute. He's running and certainly amazing play. I would hate. I mean, can you imagine having to defend that long? No, no change that'll have, that'll have, that'll have teammates cursing each other out on the sideline and puking because I'm tired and puking like they had the other game. That was a great play. John McVay, the genius is Owen too, uh, also in the good category, Kevin O'Connell and the Minnesota Vikings. For some reason, KOC has the 49ers number, the Vikes beat the 49ers for the second consecutive season in Minnesota. Back to pass. Both are picked up deep shot. Jefferson. Yes. Point of the 50. Head one to the 40. Touch back to the 25. Head to the right. He's going to run the Niners to the five. JJ 97 yards later, Sam Darnell was feeling pretty good after he got a little, a little bit of revenge on a team that cut him. I would like, I would like to dispel this rumor of him. Listen to the anger coming out because they, they, they granted, they gave him a job when no one wanted to give him a job. He was a backup quarterback last year that propelled him to a starting quarterback role. I don't think Sam Darnell has any issues with the 40. I think every player that gets cut by a team. I don't think he got cut. I think he had a whack. Oh, isn't that a normal reaction for any athlete? Absolutely. I would think so. Absolutely. The highlight of this game though. Go ahead, Tony. I was just going to say, I, I just, it was just, uh, being in San Francisco, when that game happened. I think he put short, uh, Donnie had a question. Oh man. I bet it was a big day by the big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big. He had predicted all bad news for the Raiders, all good news for the 49ers. It was like kind of the woe is me type deal. His faith. I mean, his grin when I saw him at the end of the game, but oh, it was, it was, it was, I could have took a picture. It was so nice to see a man smile like that. 49ers taking the nail. It's fine. They have it. 51 in Minnesota since 1992, longest play from scrimmage that the defense has given up in the entire entirety of the franchise history history, history, history, making play. And on that history, making play, if you haven't seen the clip, go back and watch it because the official racing down the field next to Justin Jefferson is something to behold. He needs to be called up as a wide receiver. This guy is unbelievably fast and, uh, it's part of the highlight. All right. That was the good. And it starts with the two time defending champion Kansas city chiefs, not because they had an exciting win over the Bengals. And it's certainly not the Chiefs fault that they seem to get every call, but it happened again. Fourth down game pretty much over. Patrick Mahomes throws it up for grabs and the receiver got bumped. You got the call. Butker goes down, kicks the winning field goal. The chiefs are two and O. Butkers kick, leg through it is high enough and it is good. Kansas city Harrison, but another clutch kick against the Bengals and the chiefs went in at the buzzer. I got to tell you, watching Joe burrow watch, I'll walk off that field yesterday. He was trying to be classy and I give him credit for that, but he just couldn't do it. He was so upset, so disappointed. I think every Bengal fan was, but a call is a call. You got to make it. We've talked about this before. If you don't call it, then you're deciding the game the other way. Did you see the egregious holding him? Listen here. Did you see the egregious holding of the Bengals defender by two chiefs players that was in the middle of the field that would have negated the penalty that came late to begin with? I want to know which person sold their soul to the devil. Is the Andy Reed or Patrick Mahomes, because I think it's Andy Reed. I want to know who's responsible for the Vikings dropping the Niners. That's why I want to care. This is not a Niners response. No, it is. This is a chiefs get every single call response by saying the chiefs get every single call. You're basically trying to somewhat negate two straight Super Bowls, and that's just not working in my life. But you came into it. Same thing. Because I wanted to push your buttons, apparently I did. You know that the chiefs have a special spot and it was, they don't they don't. They don't. You know what? I can go all the way back to the dolphins and their super season 50 years ago. Oh, great. Let's do that. I'm not. I'm just saying they got every call and everybody complained about it. And the same went for the Patriots and the same probably went for your 49ers when they won their Super Bowls. Great teams always seem to make a play or get a play. All right. It's part of them. Also in the bad category, the Baltimore Ravens. Not so they might get their own too, which is surprising. But here's what was more surprising. Second week in a row that the team that had the biggest point spread in the NFL lost at home, which has destroyed survivor pools all over the country. Last week is the Bengals falling. This week it was the Ravens. They blow a 10 point lead in the fourth quarter, Tony, to what team did they blow that lead to? Right. This is what everybody know in Chris's little script. He spelled it out like that too. Right. I did spell it out for you, Tony 26 23 Las Vegas, these Baltimore. One thing on this game. Go back again. If you're watching the clips and stuff, the last play of the game. They're on their own 50 yard line or 40 hour Lamar Jackson takes off running right at the field. Tony, I did not see anyone in front of him. When he got to about the 20 yard line of the Raiders, it looked like if you had made one move, he could have scored instead he lateralled the ball back like 20 yards and it got fumbled and the game was over Lamar Jackson to me missed an opportunity to maybe win that on his own. Did you see it or anyone? No. That was my first instinct saying it like live, but I never saw like an overhead. No. I agree with that. When the play started, Oakland had like eight dudes like playing basically in the end zone. Yeah. So I'm not sure and know what it looked like when he was running. It looked like there was literally no one in front of him, but I'm not sure that that was actually the case. So I want to wait to see if I see it because I saw the comments on it too. I need another angle on that, but the Ravens fall on the bad category. My Thursday night that was in the bad category Buffalo blows out the dolphins who really seemed to do this almost every time they play a good team. They lay a big fat egg and Buffalo blew them out, takes the snap back to pass. Looking over the middle pressure coming has to heave it and it's intercepted coming the other way and going for six is Jamarcus Ingram, a 30 yard interception return for a touchdown. Buffalo 31, Miami 10, and that was only the beginning of the bad news for the dolphins. Course two is knocked out late in the third quarter. And now after everybody said for two days, three days Tony that he ought to retire comes word that he's planning on coming right back. So I don't know exactly where this stands. I don't know if he's met with any doctors yet or not. I don't know if it's a good idea or not, but that's where things seem to be for the moment. Yeah, I told you guys when we talked about it, there was no chance he was retiring. And the reason why I feel like that is because he's never signaled even after the last big one. Yeah, that he was even close to retire. It's all of us that are telling him he needs to retire that caused his conversation. It wasn't to us. So until two it gets out there and at least waivers. This is it. This is a no brainer. No. No pun intended. Yeah, unfortunately. Right. Yeah. 3110 Buffalo with the nice win there ugly category. Have a feeling the Denver Broncos are going to spend a lot of time here this season. Pittsburgh Steelers got their first touchdown of the year, which led them to their second victory of the year Steelers 13, the Broncos six, Sean Tate, sorry, not smart. Go ahead. I think I found out why some of these games are so boring and it's Arthur Smith. Arthur Smith of the Steelers were playing caller in football right now. These games are mind numbing to watch. But if you're I'm going to just defend him for a second. I think Tony will agree with me. If you're beating a team 10 to nothing on the road and you've got it kind of a skittery quarterback yourself and Justin Fields and the other team isn't even threatening to score on you. Why should you take any chances to let them back in the game? Just hand off and punt. I know. I mean, Denver's a game is to win and doesn't matter how I mean, I don't need to, I don't need to do anything because Denver's no threat to catch up to me. I mean, that's my thinking. If I'm the Steelers in that game, all right, anyway, Washington, New York Giants also got into the ugly category. That's because Grady couldn't find a highlight, literally couldn't, except for the seven field goals. You could have made a seven field. I did find that. But it was a minute and a half long. You should have played all the field. Get them off. Yes. You're the board. This kicker. Go ahead. I mean, I'm just, I want to say one thing though about the kicker. Austin Seber. I think this is games. Yes. Yes. He's been on five teams. Yeah. He's been cut like 16 times. He was only a replacement this week because the commanders cut their kicker after week one. I feel good for a guy like that that goes through everything he went to and went through and has a seven field goal game to win the game. That's a, that's a nice moment for him. He was sitting on his couch last week watching NFL games in week one. Yeah. If you can't tell me a cooler story than those situations, I think it's a good one. The Giants are not very good. We know that 21 18 Washington over the Giants, the final ugly category, Green Bay, Indianapolis. It's not ugly because of the throw up on the ball. And we'll talk about that a little later, but I don't know. The Colts just didn't bring much. The Packers didn't have much without the Jordan love. Malik Willis did throw his first ever touchdown though. And Green Bay got the two and O for a hundred thirty five yards. Put it in the air this time, it is there in the wrist and a touchdown. The Willis threads it through for his first NFL strike and a touchdown. Packer 16 Colts 10, the real ugly thing here is the Colts fall to 0 and 2 along with the jagged Jaguars 0 and 2, and along with the Titans 0 and 2, three teams in that AFC South are 0 and 2, which is good news for Houston, which is 2 and 0. I could judge grave. There was the bad and the ugly for week to the national football league. Caleb Williams, Chris, what are your thoughts? I wrote this before he played last night or I would have got that in the ugly as well. I must tell you, I'm not impressed with Caleb yet. But I'm going to say yet because I still think he's got some skill. I think he's getting a little bit of the, you know, be careful, you know, how great you think you are because the NFL is, you know, pretty good and he didn't have much blocking last night at all. He doesn't have any blocking. He has no running game also and he had two of his receivers hurt. So I'm not giving up on Caleb Williams yet, but it's been a, it's been a rough start. I was very shocked when I saw that that he was not a part of the good bad and ugly, but now it makes sense. Yeah, I got this together before they lost that game. All right. Can I say one more thing real quick before we leave Fred Warner? If there is another player that I'll get a jersey for, apparently I just love linebackers. It's Fred Warner. He is amazing. Just got to say that came out of nowhere. That's amazing. He's amazing. But you swinging like you are from it's tough with all that extra weight. It's crazy. I'm not even sure what that meant, but I'm just going to go to break. That was PG right there. I know it was me. Yes. Yes. Oh, now Chris gets it. Now he loves it. Oh my goodness. More going in Chris coming up. We got Chris first of France. Oh, yeah. Let's do it. 8332880973. What up San Diego? Welcome into our number two three o'clock on the Dow Tony Gwen, Jr. Chris, Elo Matt Scravey. Taking Padres Giants tonight. No, Padres Astros tonight. You left your heart in San Francisco, Tony. You know, you know, it's a little chilly, so it made me kind of think of San Francisco a little bit. Yeah. But I'm back in the cozy confines of Peko Park. Yeah. What was the pregame yesterday? A lot of Roberto Clemente stuff. I didn't get all of it, but you guys were on for like the game start late yesterday. So the game started late because they were 21 yesterday, some guys didn't wear 21 yesterday. So we're, we're vertical men to anybody who wants, we were vertical men a day. Yeah. Anybody who wants to wear can wear, yeah. Three guys for the Padres, two guys for the Giants. I believe it was Ramos and Yostrimsky on their side, and I got it in my, I know Jason Adam Ward for the Padres for the Padres. It was a Fernandez award, but that's many bogey, all three, oh yeah, right, right. Manny Bogey, Peralta, the Tanner wear it. He wore 21 Taylor, Jason Adam, almost sure he did, because I remember him pitching and he had 21. I know he, he was, he was, he was elected for the Roberto Clemente award, he's one of the finalists. I'm not sure. That might be why he, no, he did. He did. He did. For sure. Okay. So he did. So four guys wore for the Padres, two for the Giants. I'm a little surprised why the game was there. Where, where are that? Tony. It's just, I'm a little surprised more guys didn't wear it. Yeah, I don't feel comfortable with the jersey itself. I don't know. That's how it started for Jackie Robinson. I, I was one of, I did that, I think the first year of that was 2007, right? And originally you, you were asked if you wanted to participate and if you wanted to, you could, you could wear the jersey and then it turned into everybody. So I know there's some, there's some clamoring for Roberto Clemente to change into the same thing and hasn't got there yet, but I certainly wouldn't, I'm not playing anymore. So then he got out of the box, he picked up the glove and he caught the first pitch. What are the odds? What are the odds? He had it in the McCubby Cove, Tony. I would put, I wouldn't put it past him. Let's just say. Let's just say that. But that was the reason for the delay in yesterday. We got to talk a little bit about our Aztecs. They. Yeah, they worked there. Tony could have gone to the game. Oh, no, you had to. It was the same time. It was right in the middle. It was right in the middle of our game. Trust me, I was kind of, I was rubber-necking it the whole time our game was going on. It's kind of looking to see what was going on. Didn't turn out great for us. No, if they don't. A lot of penalties. If they don't stop making penalties, you know, I'm not a football coach. You know, Sean Lewis has got to do what he's got to do. But he's got to tell them they can't do the penalties anymore. Because the rest of the game is almost a moot point, Tony. They can't get out of their own way. They started a freshman redshirt quarterback. The kid played fine, but just like Danny O'Neill before him. They can't do it when it's third and 19 every time because there was a penalty. And you know, they would have taken the lead in that game in the third quarter. They were down seven to three. They got to pick six. Guy ran it all the way back for the Aztecs. There was a penalty on the run back and have brought it back 60 yards upfield. 31 to 10 was the final score. I think the Aztecs, you know, wore down a little in the second half. Their run defense certainly did. Maybe they got a little dispirited. But to me, if you don't have the penalties, you're winning 10-7. It's a different game. They've got to stop that. It's almost impossible to tell what kind of a team they have because they can't get out of their own way on these flags. They lead the nation now in penalties, 39 in three games. And those are the only ones that get accepted. Yeah. There's more. That's a good point. I think a couple of things stood out to me in a little bit I got to watch is that they certainly seem like they're moving in a better direction than they were for the past couple of seasons. Like despite all of the penalties and all of the things that were going on, they seem like they're moving in the right direction. The penalties are going to be tough for a team like this to overcome, you know? I don't know that they're supremely talented enough to be able to overcome those, that many penalties. Like I don't know if any team's really going to overcome it. By the way, Berkeley wasn't that much better in terms of the penalties. They accumulated over that game either. But I still walked away. I know we got beat up pretty good. I still walked away encouraged because I feel like we're still heading in the right direction. I'm with you. I watched the whole game. And I feel the same way. I mean the final score, it's the old song and dance of a losing team. It wasn't as bad as the score indicated. But most of that came in the fourth quarter with the game kind of out of reach and they busted a couple runs. The Aztecs played really well for a long time. And they had a backup quarterback the Aztecs did and I thought they were right there with them. But it's almost impossible to get a rating. Like I said, I'd like to see a game with no penalties so that I can actually see, you know, okay, they need to work on this. They need to work on that. No, they had to work on one thing right now. That's it. And you got to have discipline. When your guys running a pick six back and a guy steps in front of you, you can't push him in the back. You got to have the discipline. That was it. It was a block that didn't even need to be made. The guy was, you know, taking it to the house. So, you know, that's got to change and I don't, I don't have the recipe for Sean Lewis. But I'm liking what I see better. Uh, the wins lost thing, not translating, but you know, hopefully, hopefully when they get into conference, they'll do a little better. I know they go Washington state this week or is it a in between game? I don't know. No, I should state like it's later in the season because I that's later. That's a game I've circled to maybe possibly taken my family to go watch. Let me see what I'm looking. Yeah. It's like the 24th or 5th. Oh, that Washington state is October 26th. That's why they're playing at Central Michigan, September 20th. So this is a bye week, bye week. Well, I have one. Oh, wait. They're playing on September 20th, 28th, so this is a, okay, this is a bye week. I know what I'm doing. I'm practicing. And if you commit a penalty, you're going right up to the locker room, and that's it for the dead. That's it. In high school. I'm not even, not even running. You just go send them to the locker. You can kick down. Oh, you know what? Good idea. Run for an hour. Then go to the locker room. You know, in high school, we committed so many penalties. This is the same team I shared with Kevin O'Connell, the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. Did we get a round of applause for him yet for his performance yesterday? He still has. He got his run. Do it. But we were bad with penalties at the beginning part of my senior year. And so we would have to run one gasser for every accepted penalty, even the ones where we had to like take a delay of game to punt, you know, kind of thing. Yeah. And so one day we ran 13 gasters, Chris. I couldn't finish practice. Did you throw up? Yes, I did. There were many of us. That sounds like a throw up for anybody who doesn't know what a gasser is. It's 50 yards there, 50 yards back, 50 yards there, 50 yards back. That's one. That's one. Okay. Yeah. Well, so far, the Aztecs, if that were the case, ran 16 gasters after the first game, 10 after the second game and 13 today because it gives me the shivs too much. It's just absolutely too much. I mean, you know, I like this running game, Cooper 87 yards, 22 carries for the plus, you know, the quarterback didn't, you know, didn't bother me and played all right under the circumstances. But I don't know what you're supposed to do when you just get, you know, whistled for everything you do. So yeah, you can't do much. The other story, potpourri story, Bryce Young, first round pick of last year. Oh, right. The man that Chris likes to pick on a lot. I got his job taken away. I feel bad. Man, the guys on the sidelines on them, you know, on his hanging list, give me a little bit. Um, it's, it's not, it's not unheard of for a high pick to be benched and then get his job back later. And after hearing some of the commentary on why they did it, it makes a lot of sense. I was listening to, to Marcus Spears talking about, I didn't watch that game, but he did. And what it was apparent is that this is a guy who does has no confidence at all at this point. And yeah, when you get to that, yeah, when you get to that point this early in the season, it's only week two. You probably have to make somewhat of a change so that, you know, he can possibly get his confidence back because right now, you know, based on the type of team they have, it might be hard. He'd probably be better off actually watching, um, who was a Dalton? Yeah, Andy Dalton. Andy Dalton. He's still going. I couldn't help but think about what Tom Brady said as this was going on about how he thinks more quarterbacks should sit when they come into the league. Cause I mean, right now there's a lot of proof saying that that's the best way to go. Whether we're talking love or we're talking Rogers, uh, that old Rogers now, but it wasn't like that to begin or whether we're talking about homes, Brady, the really good quarterbacks that have success early in their time, you know, and that's not all of them. Some of them come in and they have success right away, but there seems to be a, a pretty good record of guys who've sat and then played and been able to kind of go from there. I'll tell you if the Bears had a, uh, another option. I think they might give Caleb Williams a couple of games off. He's really, really struggle. And you know, I don't, I don't hold it against these guys. I'm not a huge Caleb Williams fan, but like I've said, but this has got to be the hardest position to play in all of sports, being quarterback for an NFL team. And you're asking these guys to come right in right away, usually on bad teams and try to do it and the success level, uh, other than CJ Stroud, right? There's very few who can, who can pull it off and, uh, I wouldn't be shocked if Stroud took a step or two back this year and they didn't loot it up yet. So a couple of other quick NFL notes, Cooper cup could go on the IR, which I are though, the season. I are the four game. I don't know. Just says ankle or dream. There's a bunch of, there's a bunch of IRs today, man, but the Rams already don't have a receiver. Pacheco six to eight weeks, but don't worry. Don't fret. Chiefs fans. Kareem Hunt is coming back to the Kansas city cheese to take Pacheco spot. I, whatever, say whatever you want. I know these guys all deserve second and third chances, but it just doesn't matter what kind of character you're off the field. If you can carry the football, they'll hire you. So I think there's some people who feel similar about Kareem Hunt continuing to play, um, but that's the story of there for Kansas city and, uh, they lose Pacheco. You mean that's the story? You mean the refs and they're like, we'll get into that in a good, bad and ugly and everything else. I know you're going to be upset. I know you're upset about that. You think that the, you know, he thinks the NFL sits around. And plans for ways the chiefs to win. This is what happens when your team gets their face slapped in the super bowl a couple of times. You just forever hate one team. It's, well, that doesn't hurt. Let me tell you, it doesn't hurt, but it just seems like the chiefs pull it out every time when you're really good. You make your own luck. That's what happens. You know, it's funny. There was a t-shirt. There was also a tweet that came out today of Patrick Mahomes walking around the field after a loss to the bills. I think it was last year at home. Oh, when the penalty thing, yes. And all Patrick Mahomes is going, these guys suck. They're terrible. They're terrible. These refs suck. They're terrible. This is awful. And the people are tweeting it out like Patrick, man, you might want to calm down a little bit. I do remember him being quite upset and people were like, Hey, bro, there you go. Listen, it cuts both ways, but that was a tough pill to swallow for the Bengals yesterday. I'd agree with that scrape thing with them, bangles. Yeah. All right. Let's get to break. I have to jam out of here to hear Mr. Mike Schilt. I will be back. My friends will keep the party going a little daily gambit coming up next. We're going to Chris. Scrap, just gave me some good news, 319 is the time scrapies finally come around to it. He's going to play the sounder to congratulate Kevin O'Connor. No, that's not the news. That was the news. No, no, no. As some friend you are, well, going in Chris, 97, three of the fan, I'm Chris Scrabe, Tony's running around. He'll be back for more of the show, including the good, bad and the ugly, which comes up shortly, our recap of NFL week two, also a big five will have Tony a little later. But here's the news, five o'clock hour today, and we're only on till about five 35. So it's a 35 minute stretch there. During that time, we're going to give away a pair of tickets to the pop this Wednesday. And I believe, don't hold me to this, Scrabe. Uh oh. I believe Wednesday is Fernando Tatisse, platinum glove, bobblehead giveaway day. The final in the serve. Yes. It is. Yeah. So Wednesday, not only two tickets to see the Padres Astros, but you get the Fernando bobblehead. The platinum glove bobblehead Wednesday, those tickets up for grabs in the five o'clock hour. I will tell everybody ahead of this study up on your Houston Astros trivia. Oh, wow. Has normally where I go with stuff like this, because they're playing the Astros. I'll probably give you an Astros question. If you get it, you'll go see the Padres and Astros on Wednesday tonight is game one of the series final game of the homestand life is good to be a Padre right now after they sweep the hegante's. Potters are three and a half clear of the wild card right now, Mets without Francisco Lindor home to Washington tonight, Braves home to the Dodgers. Those games get underway in the four o'clock hour, about an hour from right now. There's also Monday night football tonight, falcons and the Eagles, the battle, the birds coming up later on. We will not be carrying the game here tonight because we have Padre baseball, of course. Yes. That is what's going on. We gave you some of the NFL headlines in the last segment. Here is a little news on the Padres, which includes tonight's lineup. Luis Arise 13 game hit streak now. Scrape. And he's hitting 900 during no 4.0 say wait what seems like he's hitting 900. He does. I mean, he gets at least two, sometimes three a game. I'm going to stop defending him. I'm just going to let him defend himself. I don't need to defend him anymore. He's so good. I love this guy. 322 is now the batting average. He's on his way to his third straight batting title. Tony Gwyn among a handful of people in history have ever won three straight batting titles. Rod Carrou Cabrera, I think was the last Miguel Guerrero. So there's not many guys who do it. He hasn't struck out in a hundred and what 40 something like that, something like that straight plate appearance. That's what Sammy tweeted out. 140. Yeah. I think one Pierre 147 is ahead of him. Yeah. Man, and you know what, he gets two strikes on him all the time and then they try everything. They can't strike him out. He just, yeah, it's just, he's got a gift. He's got a gift. He's leading off at DH Fernandez and right, Pro Fars and left, Machado's the third Maryland center, Bogart's, Croninworth, Solano at first. We didn't even talk about Solano's, well, it was a five for five, the other night, four for five, you know, and he played some good defense yesterday. I know he had a ball get away from him, but he made some good plays in that game down at third. It'll be at first base tonight. Higash Yoka's catching for Darvish. Sweet. I will say this, the young right hand are pitching for Houston tonight. I think he's a rookie Spencer Arageti. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Seven and 12, 4.72. Don't let that fool you. This guy's pitched really well lately. So he's not gettable. He's had some good game. He probably gettable, but he's had some really good outings of late late in his rookie season. So no push over there. Uh, all right. Daily Gambit, winners, losers. How do we do? Do you like money? I think about money a lot. Do you like money without doing anything? Uh, duck winning. Do you want to make money while watching sports? I think Washington is immortal luck. Washington! Woohoo! If you answer yes, this is your segment. Just don't blame us when you lose. Nothing is ever your fault. Okay. Take it. Gwen and Chris go through the top bets of the day in the Daily Gambit on 97.3 The Fan. Daily Gambit is our daily sports bag segment here on Gwen and Chris. Please, everybody, gamble responsibly. Currently, on ESPN, Jason Kelsey is sitting outside of Lincoln Financial Field in a green jumpsuit. And I guess he's going to be joining Traeckman and Joe Buck in the booth tonight. Jalen Hurts would rather have him hiking the ball. I think so too. Because that's a big story with the Eagles right now. The push is no more, at least in game one, and did not work without Jason Kelsey. So we'll see you do it tonight. Some people are like, please don't let him in the locker room, get the coaches to get him to come out of retirement to play. You never know. Dylan Sees on Friday night against the Giants. Over under six and a half strikeouts. All of us went over and all of us were correct. Ten strikeouts. Great game for Dylan and congratulations on 1000 in his career. Which was actually a walk. Which I liked when he said somebody had a musker over, somebody asked him, "Why didn't you get a thousand strikeouts earlier?" And he said, "I don't have that good a command." Sees said, "If you had it," he said, "I'd have more." All right. I like that. I like that. There's a number of innings pitched in the game. Dylan Sees, who pitched more is what I'm trying to say. Him or Logan Webb, and you guys said Logan Webb, I said Dylan Sees, Dylan Sees went six. Logan Webb went four. You know, we talked a lot about Fernando's home run last night, but how about his home run Friday night? That set the tone of the series. Just like that. Two nothing, and then you get a sack fly from Bogarts? Yeah. That's pretty good. Yeah. Now, Kansas State football, seven point favorites over Arizona. You guys chose Arizona. I chose K State, K State won 31 of the seven. Yeah, route. Now, you guys chose Tennessee on this one. I chose Kent State, but Tennessee was 49 point favorites over Kent State, and they just crushed Kent State. 71 to nothing. So, they are going to be coming around. Did we remember our story last week about shortening a game and whether it's an official game to better? Oh, did that happen again? I don't know. But 71 to nothing. I wonder if they played running clock in the fourth quarter. What if one of the coaches is like, "No, we're playing it out." We're playing at least 55 minutes so these people can get paid. Yeah. Right. Roger's Braves on Friday over under eight and a half total runs in the game. Chris went over, Tony and I went under, and we barely were right. It was six to two Braves, so eight runs total. Yeah. Asia Wilson of the WNBA over at her 27 points scored on Friday night. Chris and Tony said, "Over. I said under. She was under 15." And finally, Kaitlyn Clark over under eight and a half assists in the game. Chris and I went under, Tony went over, and she barely went over with nine. Yeah. Kaitlyn Clark is, "Don't look now." The second half of her season has been all that and then some. She's been that good. What did Tony call her on Friday? Oh, a Hooper. She's a Hooper. She's good. They showed a great Clipper for the other night, driving for a layup, going down, stealing a ball, throwing a behind the back pass, getting it back, stepping back, hitting a three. Just like a sequence that, you know, just like great basketball. You know, I'm glad, well, at least for now that she is living up to it. Because there's plenty of legal files against her. People stop hating too much too much hate in the world out there. Yes. All right. Tonight, Falcons and Eagles, 45 and a half points over under 45 and a half. I got to think that the Falcons are going to open up that playbook a little bit. I'm going to go over. I think this isn't over. Eagles are scoring team. They're cousins. I mean, say what you want. It's not going to be that bad. Two weeks in a row. No, it's a second game. You should feel a little better. This is a good one here. Bijon Robinson or Saquon Barkley, who's going to have more rushing plus receiving yards. That is a good one. I'm playing against Barkley in fantasy. So yeah, I already know the answer to this. You aren't. Barkley's going to sweat it out. Make me sweat it out. He's going to get a lot of rushing receiving yards. I'll take him. Who do you got? Barkley or Bijon? I know that Bijon is a highly touted. He's really, really great, but I haven't really seen it yet. Not from him? Not yet. So I'm going to go with Saquon's. You're going with Barkley also. Devonta Smith over under 73 and a half yards. Remember AJ Brown is out tonight. Yes. That is a good point. Does that mean Devonta goes wild, Scrabby? 73 and a half. You know, I just didn't like how they're passing. He looked in the first game. I'm going to say under for Week 2 for Devonta. My wife has Devonta Smith in her league, so I'll say over for her. Would you? Let me ask you. We talked about this for a second with Tony. So if he has like a 30-point game and you're tied at the end of the year, you're going to be like, "I shouldn't have sat on that one game." Right. I would play him. I'm going to tell her to play him. I mean, come on. That's the spirit of the game. Like you said. Yeah. How about Jalen Hertz? Over under 39 and a half rushing yards. Ooh. He was about 39 last week. I know. They always do this. Um. He's going to need to go over without AJ Brown. I think he'll shoot some more. Say over. I'm going to say under. Under. Okay. We go to baseball now. Dodgers are a run and a half over the Braves. It's a tough one here if you're a Padre fan. Padre game means more than anything, but who do you root for here? You're three and a half ahead of the Braves, but you're also only three and a half behind the Dodgers. With three games to play against the Dodgers, I'm thinking division still may be. You're still thinking division. I'm going to take the Braves, yes. They've been beaten up on the Dodgers except the ninth inning yesterday. Yeah, that's true. I'll take the Braves. Uh, your guy, Paul Skeens, last ditch effort for rookie of the year, six and a half strikeouts against the Cardinals. This is always his number. It is. And he usually goes over. Yeah. Now we got a question on the chat. Okay. Is Jackson Merrill still the front runner and no one else has done anything crazy. So yes, you know what one for 19 recently, but he, uh, turned that this weekend with five hits and a couple of RBIs. Yeah. It wouldn't hurt Jackson to hit a couple more homers and win another game, but I think he's still in front. Yes. Yeah. Who you got here? Oh, over, over. He's Astros eight runs tonight squared over under. Both teams obviously can score. I'm going to go over. I think this is a good pitcher's duel. I think Darvish is kind of getting it back together. And I told you, I, I'm, I like this aragetti kid for the Astros. All right. Uh, we'll see how we do tomorrow. In the meantime, we take a break. When we come back, one of our favorite segments of the week, we're wrapping up week two of the NFL with the good, the bad and the ugly. Next on winning Chris, I have you like, uh, better training cuisine. I'll be what I'm still in. Hey, did I talk over? What happened? I, I've been sitting over here being like, all right, Chris, I'm going to play this audio clip. I didn't hear you. All right. Let's hear the audio clip. Sorry. It's okay. It's okay. What was it? It was Jackson Merrill talking about, well, I don't like to talk over Jackson. I feel bad. No, it's okay. It's okay. It's been awesome. You know, I never played in front of atmosphere like this. Not a lot of people have still and they're in the meeting. So it's, it's really special and you know, I'm just thankful it's gone by really, it's come by really fast too. You know, it seems like a blink of an eye on the screen training other day in the season. He was asked about how he feels playing in front of the Padres fans in a pen or not in a pen. They love it. They love him. Of course. As they should. All right. Sorry about that, Jackson. Welcome back to Gwyn and Chris. I was trying to tell everybody that Mediterranean food is our go to around here. And if you like a Spiro's Greek Mediterranean, fantastic, Coronado, Ohio, and online Spiro's cuisine.com. All right. We're going to get into our good, bad and ugly recap of week number two in the national football league. Before we do that, quick reminder, for those of you trying to get a late, you know, pick in for the Monday night football game, Kirk Cousins starting for the Falcons tonight brings a nine game Monday night football losing streak into the game solid. It's the longest streak of any quarterback in NFL history. He's lost nine straight Monday night football games, something you may care or not care about heading into tonight's game between the Falcons and the Eagles. In the meantime, we'll check traffic. Then let's go back and revisit the good, the bad and the ugly of week two. All right. Away we go week two in the national football league all wrap up tonight with the Monday night football game between the Falcons and the Eagles game for the birds. He says, but week two, lots of good, lots of bad and even some ugly. So let's get right to it. We'll start with the good and I think you have to start with the red hot New Orleans Saints. They look like they're for real or at least quarterback Derek Carr does. He had he had led 15 consecutive scoring drives to open the season by the time he was done with the Cowboys yesterday and Kamara had four TDs in the blowout play action with Jamal Williams. You're looking deep and he's growing deep and he's going for Shaheed Shaheed. Thanks again. 10, 5, 2, see you later, 5, no flags, 70 yards. Derek Carr with a beautiful throw, Shaheed got behind the defense. This is a big nice win for the Saints 44-19, but Tony, this happens to the Cowboys from time to time where it seems like they just don't even show. Yeah, it's funny to me, Cowboy fans were feeling quite, you know, good about themselves after last week. They signed all their players, they went out and bow raised and we talking Super Bowl after week one as we typically do with the Dallas Cowboys, but we also have plenty of weeks like this where basically a no show, I'll tell you what, for all of the crap that people give Dak Prescott, it's their defense that is the problem. Where were they? They can't stop the run at all. And next week, you got the biggest, baddest running back coming your way in Derek Henry. So I don't know that it's going to get better. I mean, both teams are 0 and 2, chance to be 0 and 3 after next week. A lot of concern there in the America's favorite team there. Sorry about that, Big D. You got routed the Saints of Outscore. They're a first two opponents, 91 to 29. Derek Carr, people. All right, also good yesterday was the performance of Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals. Now Murray's been looking for somebody to play with and he might have found somebody in hotshot rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison, four catches, 130 yards, two touchdowns in the first quarter as the Cardinals ran away from the Rams. I especially enjoyed that Kyler Murray has received a lot of slander because people like, you know, in our society, we have such short memories and we just forget how good he was when he was healthy. And you know, it was fun to watch him really just go to work and in all the above about him not throwing the ball to Marvin Harrison or throwing it to him only a couple times in the first first game. It all got ironed out week two. Fake to Connor, Murray on the roll-out looking deep for Harrison. Marvin Harrison, junior to the end zone, touchdown again. Marvin Harrison looked awfully good. I want to say this though, the two touchdowns are the ones to Harrison we keep seeing. The third one that he threw to the back up tight end where he ran around and escaped the rush for about 10 minutes. That's Kyler Murray at his absolute calories. No doubt amazing play. I would hate, I mean, can you imagine having to defend that long? No. No chance. That'll have teammates cursing each other out on the sideline. And puking because I'm tired. And puking. Might say had the other game. That was a great play. Sean McVeigh, the genius is Owen too. Also in the good category, Kevin O'Connell and the Minnesota Vikings. For some reason, KOC has the 49ers' number. The Vikes beat the 49ers for the second consecutive season in Minnesota. Back to pass, close to picked up, deep shot, Jefferson! Yes! Point of the 50, hit one to the 40, touchdown to the 25, hit to the right. He's going to run the Niners to the five, touchdown! JJ 97 yards later, Sam Darnell was feeling pretty good after he got a little, little bit of revenge on the team that cut him. I would like to dispel this rumor of him hitting the 49ers because they granted they gave him a job when no one wanted to give him a job. He was a backup quarterback last year that propelled him to a starting quarterback role. I don't think Sam Darnell has any issues with the 49ers. I think every player that gets cut by a team feels like they want to get a whack to him. He isn't that a normal reaction for any athlete? Absolutely. I would think so. Absolutely. The highlight of this game though, go ahead Tony. I was just going to say, I just, it was just being in San Francisco when that game happened. I think he put the story. Donnie had a bust right now. Oh man, I bet it was a big day by the baby. Big Raider, big Raider fan, big Raider fan. He had predicted all bad news for the Raiders, all good news for the 49ers. It was like kind of the woe is me type deal. His face, I mean, his grin when I saw him at the end of the game, but oh, it was, it was, I could have took a picture. It was so nice to see a man smile like that. 49ers taking a nail. It's fine. They took a nail. They haven't won in Minnesota since 1992. The longest play from scrimmage that the defense has given up in the entire entirety of the franchise history history, history, history making play. And on that history making play, if you haven't seen the clip, go back and watch it because the official racing down the field next to Justin Jefferson is something to behold. He needs to be called up as a wide receiver. These guys unbelievably fast and it's part of the highlight. All right, that was the good. Let's get into the bad. It starts with the two time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, not because they had an exciting win over the Bengals. And it's certainly not the Chiefs fault that they seem to get every call, but it happened again. Fourth down game pretty much over, Patrick Mahomes throws it up for grabs. And the receiver got bumped. You got the call. Butker goes down, kicks the winning field goal. The Chiefs are 2-0. Butkers can't leg through, it is high enough, and it is good. Kansas City, Harrison Butker, another clutch kick against the Bengals, and the Chiefs winning at the buzzer. I got to tell you, watching Joe Barrow watch, I'll walk off that field yesterday. He was trying to be classy and I give him credit for that, but he just couldn't do it. He was so upset, so disappointed. I think every Bengal fan was, but a call is a call. You got to make it. We've talked about this before, if you don't call it, then you're deciding the game the other way. Did you see the egregious holding? Here we go. Did you see the egregious holding of the Bengals defender by two Chiefs players that was in the middle of the field that would have negated the penalty that came late to begin with? I want to know which person sold their soul to the devil. Is it Andy Reed or Patrick Mahomes? I want to know, I think it's Andy Reed. I want to know who's responsible for the Vikings dropping the Niners. That's what I want. I don't care. This is not a Niners response. No, it isn't. This is a Chiefs gift. Every single call responds by saying the Chiefs get every single call. You're basically trying to somewhat negate two straight Super Bowls and that's just not working in my life. But you came into it. It's the same thing because I wanted to push your buttons. Apparently I did. You know that the Chiefs have a special spot and it was in front of it. They don't. They don't. They don't. You know what? I can go all the way back to the Dolphins in their Super season 50 years ago. Oh, great. Let's do that. I'm not. I'm just saying they got every call and everybody complained about it and the same went for the Patriots and the same probably went for your 49ers when they won their Super Bowls. Great teams always seem to make a play or get a play. All right. It's part of them. All right. Also in the bad category, the Baltimore Ravens. So they might get their own too, which is surprising, but here's what was more surprising. Second week in a row that the team that had the biggest points spread in the NFL lost at home, which has destroyed survivor pools all over the country. Last week is the Bengals falling. This week it was the Ravens. They blow a 10 point lead in the fourth quarter, Tony, to what team did they blow that lead to? Oh, right now every now and Chris's little script. He spelled it out like that too. I did spell it out for you, Tony 2623 Las Vegas. Beast Baltimore, one thing on this game. Go back again. If you're watching the clips and stuff, the last play of the game, they're on their own 50 yard line or 40 yard Lamar Jackson takes off running right at the field. Tony, I did not see anyone in front of him. And he got to about the 20 yard line in the Raiders. It looked like if you had made one move, he could have scored. Instead, he lateraled the ball back like 20 yards and it got fumbled and the game was over. Lamar Jackson, to me, missed an opportunity to maybe win that on his own. Did you see it or anyone? No, that's the first instinct, seeing it, like live, but I never saw like an overhead game. No, I agree with that. I need another angle on that, but the Ravens fall. It's on the bad category. My Thursday night, that was in the bad category Buffalo blows out the dolphins who really seem to do this almost every time they play a good team. They lay a big fat egg and Buffalo blew them out, takes the snap back to pass. Looking over the middle pressure coming has to heave it and it's intercepted coming the other way and going for six is Jamarkus Ingram, a 30 yard interception return for a touchdown. Buffalo 31, Miami 10, and that was only the beginning of the bad news for the dolphins. Of course, two is knocked out late in the third quarter. And now after everybody said for two days, three days Tony that he ought to retire comes word that he's planning on coming right back. So I don't know exactly where this stands. I don't know if he's met with any doctors yet or not. I don't know if it's a good idea or not, but that's where things seem to be for the moment. Yeah. I told you guys when we talked about it, there was no chance he was retired. The reason why I feel like that is because he's never signaled even after the last big one. Yeah. That he was even close to retire. It's all of us that are telling him he needs to retire that caused his conversation. It wasn't to us. So until two it gets out there and at least waivers. This is it. This is a no brainer. No. No pun intended. Yeah. Unfortunately. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Let's just leave it there. Ugly category, have a feeling the Denver Broncos are going to spend a lot of time here. This season, Pittsburgh Steelers got their first touchdown of the year, which led them to their second victory of the year. Steelers 13, the Broncos six, Sean Dayton. Sorry. Not smart. Go ahead. I think I found out why some of these games are so boring and it's Arthur Smith. Arthur Smith is the worst play caller in football right now. These games are mind numbing to watch, but if you're I'm going to just defend him for a second. I think Tony will agree with me. If you're beating a team, tend to nothing on the road and you've got it kind of a skittery quarterback yourself and Justin Fields and the other team isn't even threatening to score on you. Why should you take any chances to let them back in the game? Just hand off and punt. I know. I mean, Denver's a game is to win and it doesn't matter how I mean, I don't need to. I don't need to do anything because Denver's no threat to catch up to me. I mean, that's my thinking. If I'm the Steelers in that game, anyway, Washington, New York Giants also got into the ugly category. That's because Scravey couldn't find a highlight, literally couldn't except for the seven field goals. You could have made a seven field. I didn't find that, but it was a minute and a half long, you should have played all the field. Oh, yes. You're the board. Everybody did tears. This kicker. Go ahead. Sorry. Go ahead. I'm just, I want to say one thing though about the kicker. Austin Seiber. Yes. Yes. Yes. He's been on five teams. Yeah. He's been cut like 16 times. He was only a replacement this week because the commanders cut their kicker after week one. I feel good for a guy like that that goes through everything he went through and went through and as a seven field goal game to win the game. That's a, that's a nice moment for him. He was sitting on his couch last week, watching NFL games in week one. Yeah. If you can't tell me a cooler story than those situations, I think it's a good one. The Giants are not very good. We know that 21 18 Washington over the Giants, the final ugly category, Green Bay, Indianapolis. It's not ugly because of the throw up on the ball and we'll talk about that a little later, but I don't know. The Colts just didn't bring much. The Packers didn't have much without Jordan Love. Malik Willis did throw his first ever touchdown though and Green Bay got the 2 and 0. 41 for 135 yards. Put it in the air this time. It is still there in the wrist and a touchdown. Willis threads it through for his first NFL strike and a touchdown. Packers 16, Colts 10, the real ugly thing here is the Colts fall to 0 and 2 along with the Jag, Jaguars, 0 and 2 and along with the Titans, 0 and 2. Three teams in that AFC South are 0 and 2, which is good news for Houston, which is 2 and 0. I could Josh Grave. There was a good, the bad and the ugly for week to the national football league. Caleb Williams, Chris, what are your thoughts? I wrote this before he played last night or I would have got that in the ugly as well. I must tell you, I'm not impressed with Caleb yet. And I'm going to say yet because I still think he's got some skill. I was very shocked when I saw that that he was not a part of the good, bad and ugly, but now it makes sense. Yeah, I got this together before they lost that game. All right. Can I say one more thing real quick before we leave Fred Warner? If there is another player that I'll get a jersey for, apparently I just love linebackers. It's Fred Warner. He is amazing. Just kind of say. That came out of nowhere. That's amazing. He's amazing. But you swinging like you are from it's tough with all that extra weight. It's crazy. I'm not even sure what that meant, but I'm just going to go to break. That was PG right there. I know. It was. Oh, I know what he said you're doing. Yes. Yes. Oh, now Chris gets it. Now he loves it. Oh my goodness. More Gwen and Chris coming up. We got. Chris, first. The fans, baby. Oh, yeah. Let's do it. 8332880973. Hey, here we go into the happy hour happy to be with you on this Monday Gwen and Chris Sandy goes number one sports talk station 97 three, the fan coming up before the show is over. We're going to give you a chance to win two tickets to Wednesdays, Padres game against a Houston Astros Wednesday night, not only big time ball game, but Fernando Tatis platinum glove bobblehead giveaway night. So you know, I want to stay around. I forgot. I forgot to take my home. Oh, the bobblehead. I just realized it. You're going to put it away for safe. Keep it. Yes. They had one sitting around. I mean, yeah, these things are like cold. Come on. Somebody didn't grab it. That's surprising. That is surprising. They usually give us the potter is a very nice. To us. Yeah. They give us usually one of each promotional item, necessarily maybe to know we get some, but there's like 20 of us. So I never grab one because I don't feel like I should. You apparently don't mind grabbing one. Well, when they're brought into studio and I ask Adam, can I take this one home? And he says, yes, then you go home because it's really hard for us to get down there to get the actual boy. This must grow one with the dog bobblehead is the only one that has survived the season and is still here in studio. Where's the other ones? They're all gone. That's what I mean. Where are they? People take them. Like you. Well, I really take the ones that are available. If anybody's taking actual bobbleheads off the wall, then they're thieves. Well, anyway, you can get a Fernando bobblehead giveaway Wednesday when two tickets to see the Padres and Astros coming up before the end of the show. The show is over at five thirty five. So it's between now and then Sam Levitt's pregame show and then Jesse Tony, big doons baseball tonight at Petco Park Wednesday's game is a different start time. I'm sorry. 40. Okay. A little kind of an afternoon evening affair. Yes. It's the last day game. I don't think that's true home. No, the white star is here this weekend. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Well, you really cleared that up for everybody. I know. As soon as I said it's. Yeah. All right. So stick around for that opportunity. Scoreboard Dodgers just got on the board top of the third. They lead the Braves one nothing nationals over the Mets top of the fourth one, nothing. All right. So there's your scoreboard check Padres going after another one tonight. You Darvish on the mound following a brilliant pitching weekend in San Francisco. We've talked about so many things about the weekend, you know, Fernando, you know, clutch, home run Friday night, got him started, you'd shot yesterday, talked about, I thought Croninger's defense was amazing. And every time he makes a great play, I keep reminding people to say, well, he's not that good defensively. The analytics say that the analytics they say he doesn't cover. I don't know. It seems like he's pretty good. I think he's pretty good. I've never had a question about his defense. If you go tell an analytics person, oh, Croninger is great defensively at second base. They'll tell you you don't know your game. They say you don't know baseball. I'm saying, no, you don't know baseball because I don't know baseball. I see the guy making plays all over the field. And he did it this weekend. Solano had a four hit game, rises hitting streaks up to 13 straight. He's hitting 900 during that stretch. So it seems, but the biggest thing of the weekend was the starting pitching three games in San Francisco. Nice must grow Perez 17 innings, one run. They only give him nine hits and three walks. They struck out 20 and they completely dominated giants in score till the sixth inning yesterday. And you know, that you get started pitching like that. And I know it's funny, but the pottery is going to be great. If they get starting pitching like that, yes, everybody will be great. If they get starting pitching like that, if you're starting pitching doesn't give it up any runs, you're probably going to win. But so that goes without saying it was an outstanding job. We'll see if Darvish can keep it going tonight against an Astros team that is heading back to the playoffs for the eighth year in a row and very well could be. They've been in the ALCS or better seven straight years. I think that's incredible with all the playoffs and all of the one game eliminations and this that and the other and the buys and everything, I mean, to do that seven years in a row. You know, I know we don't like the Astros. They cheated. They got caught. I don't think they paid enough of a penalty personally, but I'm also not ready to take away everything they've accomplished. You know, I just got all of it. I get it. I was never, I wasn't as upset as everybody else about the cheating thing. It's stupid and it doesn't make the sport look good, but I'm over it at this point. Well, you know, look, I'm not a hundred percent. I don't forgive Al Tuve every time I see him, he kind of bugs me to be honest with you. Don't take my shirt off. And Bregman still kind of grows me the wrong way a little, but you know, I love Alvarez and what the Astros have done is impressive. So I like this series or this series to start the week because I know it doesn't really work this way in baseball, but it's like a where you whack type of series. You got a really good AL team here in town. It's good. Good series. More importantly is to me, the standings, you're three and a half behind the Dodgers. You're three and a half up on the Braves and Mets. You want to keep that margin. If you can close the gap on LA, so be it. I mentioned it earlier today. I'll mention it again. The Dodgers still have seven games left against the Rockies. It's going to be hard to catch them, but stranger things have happened. Remember, the Dodgers also play the Padres three games. So you could conceivably pick up some ground there. You can still win this division. But I think it's a long shot, honestly, just by the way, the schedule plays out. As mentioned, Dodgers won Braves nothing tonight in the top of the third. All right. Mike Schilt, talking before the game tonight, let's get some of the latest. This question must have been asked by you because you are representing the group of people out there that is all of a sudden concerned about Robert Suarez, having given up a home run in two of his last three appearances. So with that in mind, Mike Schilt was asked whether or not he's considering using Tanner Scott at all in the closing role. Well, we're going to use our high leverage guys in the games. So I mean, that's what Robert is. He's an all-star. A row of the innings ago, I mean, his innings aren't extremely far off. Just a little bit more, but it's not this, you know, crazy. And more recently, he's had a lot of rest. So yeah, I mean, we've good news is we've got a lot of multiple options. And the other good news is we have Robert Suarez is pretty special. And, you know, the thing is, is a couple of times it doesn't work out. You look up and the guys at Office Field, a homer's on a hundred mile an hour fastball. Sometimes you have to tip your hat. That's what I said earlier. You did. I did. I mean, you kind of give the other guy a little credit. It was a hundred miles an hour. He's the first guy in the history of the ballpark, right handed, to hit it into the water. He didn't answer the question, though. Of course he didn't. He's a manager/politician. I think they were. Well, because if he comes, let's play this out. If he comes out and he says, you know what? Yeah, I think we are going to use Tanner Scott a little bit more. No, you don't want to do that. No, because then he gets back to Robert Suarez. Of course. Robert Suarez starts thinking, am I losing my job? Maybe, you know. And if you say that I'm only sticking with Suarez, then you paint yourself into a corner in case you want to. You have high leverage guys for the end of game. That's right. But I'm just saying, Suarez had a bad outing in the Detroit. That was bad. But I, you know, I got to give him one bad outing on the year yesterday was just an example of a guy doing something that no other right handed hitter has ever done in that ballpark. Maguire, Sosa, who, I'm trying to think of some big, you know what I mean, but Pujols, whoever has played in that ballpark, no right handed hitters ever hit the ball in the water. Now this guy did it. Let's give him some credit. And Suarez, you know, gives up another couple homers this week, then, yeah, you're right. This is why. But the good news is, is we have fall back. Yes, there is. There are other options for the Padres to use. If it really does become a thing where they, it's, it's a lot of trouble, but baseball, this is just why baseball people are so much different than me because you go, yep, hit a hundred mile hour fastball out there. Tip of the cap. It seems like we say that a lot though. But down that one, I have to. Yes. Sorry. I have to tip the one. Yes. I have to get my cap. I have to pick it up. I have to tip it. But we tipped our cap to Nikola Dolo back in like May when he struck out thirteen Padres. Remember, that was the stretch where the Padres could not hit a left handed pitcher for like a month and a half. And Nikola Dolo just made it worse and everybody else who, everybody was left handed made it worse. Cantonum and Naya, everybody shut them down for like a month and a half. I thought they'd never get it. But we tipped our cap to him. We tipped our cap here. We tipped our cap there. We're going to tip our cap. Tipping it yesterday on the home run by Julio Ramos. All right. One more thing. Sammy Levitt, hard at work talking with our guy, Manny Machado, Machado, you know, whatever, he's been incredible since June. The guy was hitting 237 since then he's hit like 18 of his 26 homers. He's up to 98 RBIs again. What's been the big difference for you, Manny? He's had just been the health. I don't know. I mean, it's just the health, I guess, you know, I think the biggest thing is health, you know, you know, not being able to, you know, have a little spring training during the season. It's not, it's not ideal, but you know, just, just healthy overall, you know, and it helps when you have this team and your teammates trying to push you and make you better every single day and, you know, not really take on that load that you want, you need to overdo or try to be the guy when, you know, everyone's contributing, you know, in some way or shape or form, you know, everyone's doing it. So, you know, it's been a fun year, man. It's been, it's been a, it's been a hell of a ride for all of us. And, you know, we got a few weeks left and, you know, we're just trying to finish off strong and, you know, finish off in a positive way. Manny's got 19 RBIs this month or back to August 30th, so I was going to say 19 RBIs. He's just done it. He's got it done. I, you know, we've changed six times because pro far was to me the MVP for a long time. He's obviously, you know, second half hasn't been as good. Then it was Meryl. Then it was Meryl with the streak of all streaks, right, that was crazy. And it's been Suarez all year and it's been a bunch of other guys. I really think Manny, when it's all said and done, is the MVP of this team. And the reason I say that is because when he got hot, everybody jumped on his back. And that's the, that's the whole definition of a leader. Yeah. I really think, you know, it's going to be Manny team MVP when it's all said and done. I, I don't know. There's still two weeks left, but you know, Manny's been, he's been all that and then some bag of potato chips and a bag of potato chips, by the way, where we're just watching a great relay play of the brave or Dodgers tagging out a brave at home. Padres had a really nice play over the weekend too. Relay play that a lot of them, they, they, yeah, but defense was good when those, those type of plays are pretty awesome. They're big time things. They help you win games and championships. I'm telling you, Dodgers still lead the Braves, won nothing in the fourth and it stays one nothing because at home run by Ozuna is not a home run. It was foul, foul ball, one, nothing, Braves, all right. Dodgers chance for you right now dial in, but not yet. I know. It's okay, eight, three, two, eight, eight, oh, nine, seven, just know if you're first, you will be dry. Right. If you die, you'll end now. Scrappy's just going to hang up on you. So wait for the question to win two tickets to see the Padres and the Astros play on Wednesday. Name for me the Houston Astros all time leader in victories pitcher pitcher all time leader in victories for the Houston Astros franchise. First person with the correct answer to that eight, three, three, two, eight, eight, oh, nine, seven, three, we'll see the Astros and the Padres Wednesday while you're dialing in with checks and traffic. From Imperial Beach cashed in on some tickets, he'll go see the Padres take on the Astros Wednesday. First parlor. Got right on the screen. Yes, it was. Joe Negro is the answer to that question. The late Joe Negro younger brother of a Hall of Famer Phil Negro. That's what I thought you said originally and I had to double check it out. No, Joe is the all time Astros leader with 144. Just one ahead, a very close Roy Oswald. Remember that guy right hander? He won 143. The Negro is the guy for the Astros in franchise history, Joe Negro was, I mean, you got to go way back and you got to turn the clock way back for this one. The expansion season of the San Diego Padres 1969, the Padres traded for Joe Negro. He had been with the Cubs. And he would lead the Padres expansion club in victories with eight. They weren't very good their first year. He won eight games with the Padres in 1969. He was the first, you know, victory leader in Padre history and then went on and led the Astros with 144 victories. Joe Negro won 221 games in his career. Not bad for a knuckle baller. And we've talked a lot about him and Phil this year because of Waldron. Yeah. You know, those guys were kind of resurrected a little bit thanks to the emergence of our guy, Matt Waldron this year. All right. Good job on you. Pete. People, you can stop calling now. I mean, people are still dialing in. It's not going to happen. Sometimes people don't listen, Chris. Not going to happen. We've got Pete on his way to see the Padres and the getting the Fernando bobblehead. The Astros Wednesday, he'll get the Fernando bobblehead one that you already have because you just stole it from the studio. I don't steal it from the studio is given to me. Dodgers still lead the Braves one nothing in the fourth national still lead the Franciscoll and door less Mets one nothing. That's in the fifth. I think James would hit two home runs yesterday. He's been crushing it late. All right. So fine. Where's he going to play on this team? I didn't say anything about that. That's my point. So just it's good for him. I didn't say anything. Other guys do other things for other teams. But I'm enjoying this team right now. Eagles punted on their first possession Monday night football Falcons ball deep in their own territory. I don't really see the Eagles playing with any pizzazz. The game's only two and a half minutes old. Scrabby. What do you mean? I just think they don't want to put a razzle dazzle triple reverse on the first series. Sure. Triple reverse pass. What qualifies as pizzazz for you? You know, I haven't seen a good fleece. I got to tell you that Kirk Cousins handoff to Bijon Robinson showed quite a bit of Falcons pizzazz there. It did. Do you see that spin? All right. They're underway in Monday night football. We'll keep you up to date on that as well. We've got about 10 minutes left before we turn it over to Sam Levitt's pregame show. We didn't talk very much if at all college football. College football. Today. A couple of things from the weekend, obviously we mentioned the Aztecs. Very simple, you know, stop committing penalties. I can't, I can't even judge the team as long as they're second and 25 every possession. Sure. You really can't. You don't even know. Yeah. You know, they pick off a pass. They go in for a pick six to take a 10, seven lead in the third quarter. Everybody's excited there and Cal, they're going to, you know, pull the upset, you know, some guy pushes a guy in the back on the way they return and they call it back 60 yards up field. So I assume, you know, that's, that's the stuff you just can't keep doing. I assume that's a young team, but it does surprise me with how detail oriented Sean Lewis. Yes. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would, uh, would, you know, go for that. Uh, the AP rankings are out today. Guess who the number one team is in the nations. Great. Texas long. Yes. Did you see that? I did. Did you guess it? No, I did. No, Texas has jumped past Georgia. They now deemed the long horns is the number one team in the nation. Georgia falls to number two after a narrow 13 to 12 victory at Kentucky, how dare Georgia winning by only one point yet that's what I don't get either. Are we now? Like, has it always been that way? Yeah. Style points matter in college football. I knew it mattered in the BCS because you got computer points, but you have got to beat your people and you have got to beat them by a lot. And if you don't, the rankings will reflect that. So Tennessee beating Kent State 71 nothing. They should be number one, right? Well, Tennessee's moved all the way to number six and they started at like 19. So three wins by 60 points has definitely vaulted them. Where are the F ticks? When the rankings? Yeah. That's funny. They were like, they got rings pretty low. You're a comedian. I'll tell you're a really hilarious guy over there. Yeah. What is this guy doing? There's another story about Texas though and Texas won its game over UT San Antonio. Oh, otherwise known as UTSA. Is that a possible Pac-12 or it's possible new Pac-12 team, but anyway, Texas beat them in the night 56 to seven. Oh, I don't want them then. But who was the big man on campus for Texas? Did you all hear this? According quarterback Quinn, yours of Texas Heisman Trophy favorite was injured. Whoa, no, that's not what I meant to hear. I meant to hear this. He was running in pain on the field. I meant this. He was an agony out there. They had to bring stretchers in hospital people live audio. Jeez. I didn't mean that. That's funny. When yours was injured, so he was replaced by none other than, yes, arch-manning. This is what this is now for. Arch-manning in his college debut, 223 yards, four touchdowns. And just for you fantasy college players, he added a 67 yard touchdown run. That's pretty good. Pretty good game and his debut for arch-manning. Here's the thing that stood out to his coach, Steve Sarkisian. He said on his very first pass, after the injury there down near the goal line, he said he looked to his third option before hitting for the touchdown. Oh, I felt okay. Point as he looked, he went through his progression. Yeah. And young quarterbacks, sometimes that takes time, but not if your last name's manning. You probably already know to do that. The guy's pre-wired to be a great quarterback. Yeah. I was born into this world to throw the football around. He can do it, apparently. So that's how that started there for arch-manning. Do you know, and I'm asking you this, do you know what Major League Baseball MLB, what is their gambling outlet deal with? Do you know who it's with? Is it would bet MGM? Is it with 365? Is it whatever? I think I actually don't know. I don't either, but I'm asking that because that MGM sounds right though. Yeah, it does. And here's why. Today, the may well, maybe not today, the Major League Baseball's player union sued draft Kings and they sued FanDuel for what both of them, and they're saying that both betting companies are using names and likenesses of players on their platforms without any permission. So this is an all type stuff, right? Yeah. They're using their, you know, their names. They're using their, they're saying, here's the, I think, and I don't have time. We got a minute or two. Well, maybe enough time, but no, we have, we have three minutes. We got a few minutes. Here's the thing. You, you go on draft Kings. You go on, you know, what you, you know, your FanDuel, whatever, you see Pete Alonzo. Yeah. Will he hit two or more home runs? Yeah. And then the odds. Yeah. And the baseball players, our union is now, what they're saying is by using his name, you're helping further your business because you're selling the opportunity to bet or honor against Pete Alonzo. I see where they're going, but I don't know how I feel. You don't think it's going to make it. I don't know either. I don't know either. I don't know either. The players have been filed in U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, da, da, da, da. Ones in New York. Aren't they? To me is for somebody a lot smarter than me to decide. Aren't they using these players in an editorial way? Like, I guess they're not because they're, yeah, I mean, are you going to, can the players union start suing the newspaper for saying a writing in a headline that Jackson Merrill had two home runs to help sell the paper? I mean, I don't know. Can they start suing you and I for saying, yeah, Manny Machado, because people tune in to hear what I and you say about Manny Machado. So is it, are we allowed to use his name without playing some blanket fee? I really am interested to see how this goes. I am too. Because this couldn't end a lot of stuff. There's a lot to unpack as they say here, baseball is driving this. Yes. And there's a lot of other players union that sued draft Kings and FanDuel. So really weird. I think it's very, I guess yesterday I spent an hour trying to figure out a FanDuel fan, daily fantasy lineup. And all those players are sitting right there. All of their stats. Right. All their breakdowns. And they couldn't sell that without it. Now, and let me ask you this, if that gets okayed, does the, let's just say the football union. ESPN. It's a slippery slope after that. And say, well, you're selling fantasy football websites using our names to play fantasy football. So can they get money for that? I mean, fantasy football is nothing without the name Jalen Hurts. You can't go wide receiver number one. Yeah. Yeah. I'll take wide receiver two on the Saints. I'll say you have to use the guy's name. Yeah. See, in that way, you're not where this all stops and where it ends because you're not you're just using their name. That's all FanDuel and DraftKings say they're doing. They say we're just putting Joe Musgrove's name down. I'm not saying Joe Musgrove's suing. Yeah. The whole players union is suing. But yeah, we're putting Joe Musgrove's name down and it says, you know, bet on how many strikeouts he's going to have. We've got to follow this because I have no idea which direction this could go. I think it's kind of interesting. It is, it is interesting, but it doesn't, it seems like a weird precedent if they decide to take the names off. Is this the old, that could be a slippery slope? It is a slippery slope. Is that where you're, is that where you're going with this? Yes. I should have remembered my, what are those things called logic? Logic. I hated that. You are, you are full of logic in general. I have plenty of logic. It just doesn't make sense to most people. Okay. We'll leave you with that one today. Scoreboard, bottom of the fourth, now top of the fifth, Dodgers one, Braves nothing. Top of the seventh, Nationals one, Mets nothing. Just under way, Diamondbacks, Rockies, Padres, Astros coming up.
