We have a wonderful episode, as you can see, I'm joined by Hinturn Emma for chasing prophecy and Beyond the Radar. Emma, how are you doing this week? I am doing great. I have just come back to the beach, so I'm enjoying freshly tanned skin and some vitamin D. You know, always a good experience. Everything like that is such a wonderful time, the summer, and everything. And if I'm looking off to the side, it's because I have my little laptop right here, so give me one second and I will put this down. Okay, you're fine. Okay, back everybody, that's fun, dead air. So one thing we're going to jump into, but we won't jump into it yet, is the stories of the Tower of London and all the cool happenings, oh, this should act like you've been here before. Everyone, we do have a text board. Please feel free to text in at any time. With comments, questions, if you are on your streaming, you can also comment as well, but the number for the text board is 484. I'm going to wait for it to scroll 484-283-5328. That's 484-283-5328, leave your comments, questions, all that kind of stuff. We have a great show for you. Yeah, Nicole, good to see you. You're always back. Mrs. the Beach. You live in California? I did too. I just got my guess today, but I missed it. Yeah, it's, you know, you want to be an intern. That's lovely. You can, of course, be an intern. You can be Emma's intern. And then we get everybody to watch one intern at a time. That's the real goal of chasing prophecy and beyond the radar. Yeah, just to accumulate a bunch of interns. If we just have a million interns, they have to watch a show. Boom. Look at those numbers. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my gosh. That's part. Yes. One thing I wanted to talk about, Emma, and you have, you had kind of behind the scenes knowledge of this as well. I am looking to do an investigation at skin marker ranch. Gusher Utah. Yes. Yes. We did talk about that. Yes. Um, nerd and former is, is game to go out and do that with us. We are looking to crowd fund this. Um, you know, we are three technologically skilled gentlemen who like the paranormal. So drones, players, IR night vision, military grade night vision, not just regular night vision. Yeah. You know, to really rough it in a camper, everyone, outside a skinwalker ranch and see if there really is these anomalies and see if we can capture anything and make a little documentary about it. We're giving parks away, like you could be, hey, you ever want to be like a producer, executive producer, you want to get your name on IMDB and anything like that, we'll offer you credits to do that. And I'm going to play our little teaser video here to get it out in front of everyone and so we can live forever on Spotify land. So I'm going to do that here before we start. So let me get that one up right here. So why do you want to investigate skinwalker ranch are you kidding? It's skinwalker ranch. You went to basin is one of the most fascinating places on earth and it's also one of the most highly investigated places on earth. Like every time I've watched a documentary, it always draws me to want to go there even more. Whether you're looking for paranormal, UFO, cryptid, skinwalkers, and probably a whole lot more. This is what interests me the most. Never has an investigation been so technologically advanced. Personally spent years reading and watching anything that I had to do with you into basin. You went to basin has everything, highly advanced cameras or highly advanced recording devices, night vision drones. I believe we can use all of those things. Night vision goggles that we can see at night because we're going to be up all night and putting it in a documentary so the world can see how technology can assist us in the hunt of paranormal research. This is just on every site so we can always have that angle if we need it. Out of all of the paranormal activity on skinwalker ranch, portals, UFO's, cryptid, what interests me the most has to be the cryptid. I'm a monster guy. I want to go see. I want to go check out. I want to find evidence of a monster of cryptid of an entity. In conjunction with the right experiments to really find out a little bit more about what you want to base in this hiding. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. That was the teaser trailer done by yours truly. The Indiegogo. Yeah. You can see the different perks from equipment to credits to shout outs on this show to wanting to be on the show. And if you wanted, if you fund the whole thing, you know, we'll fly you out and you'll just hang out with us the whole time. That'll be that perk is a real behind the scenes. You know, you'll get everything first, one most right there. Cool stuff coming in the world of beyond the radar, nerd and former and all of that. And, you know, we hope, Emma, we hope you can hop on and join and, you know, go through that journey with us as well. Nicole, I'd have to fly past you to all to get to you. But if you would like, please come out. That's funny. Right. So, Emma, we have some extraordinary stories. I've looked through these most. Now, some of these I've known from before, London is, I mean, if it's the land of Jack the Ripper, it's going to be haunted. So, you know, but, you know, oh my gosh, it's got to be. Yeah. So, go ahead, go ahead. I studied there for five months. So this is a big topic. Oh, you were brought there. I was. That's why I was abroad. Okay. So, right in the center of London, West, you know, where you tell me, it was like center of London. Westminster area, Marla bone, right across from Madame Tussauds. I was. Yes. So, slightly West London. Yes. Yes. So, I was there for five months and it was truly, it was truly amazing. Nicole, you got to go. I want to move there one day. It's beautiful. Give her a tip if she goes. My tip would be, first things first got to go the Tower of London. I went there twice during my time. I just, there's so much history which I'll get into, but truly amazing. The catacombs, oh my gosh, I never went there. I wasn't, I was, I did go to Paris, but I was too much of a chicken to go to the catacombs. Oh, well, as above so below or even that was, that was a good movie. I don't know if you've seen that one. No, and I don't, I don't know if I need to, the title scares me enough. Well, it, okay, it's more psychological than it is scary. So you're not going to have to worry about the jump scares and all of that kind of stuff. Yeah. More of like the mind, F scary type of stuff, but yeah, if you watch that, we will review that one at some point because it is, I've watched it six, seven times because it, it's one of those ones that it's an easy watch, the title, I can see why the title and maybe like the horror would, would throw people off. It is a rather easy watch. You know, it's, it's, it's not too bad. Too bad. All right. All right. Selling it. Yeah. All right. So I will start with a little bit of an introduction with explaining what the tar blended is for anybody who has no idea what it could be, or if you just have a little bit of knowledge. So at the center of the British monarchy is the site of several places that have witnessed hundreds of years of owning a rental property sounds like a dream, collect a rent and relax. No purchase necessary. What would be prohibited by law 18+ terms and conditions apply? War, death, people. But one in particular for the British monarchy is the Tower of London. So if you're unaware of what this tower is to summarize, it began construction in 1078 and finished completely in the year 1399. I actually have no idea. No. I think that's Transylvania, which would be remaining. Yes. Yes. Sorry to cut you off. So too. No, you're fine. So it used to house several monarchs, such as King Edward I, Queen Elizabeth. And before the construction of Buckingham Palace, this was considered one of the primary residents of monarchs. Now, despite the history there, monarchs no longer live in the tower, and instead it serves the purpose of housing the crown jewels and other historical British sites. Now, when I was there as I previously mentioned, I had the privilege of going there twice. It is truly an amazing experience. I really couldn't describe it to you other than it just feels like you are like, there's just a presence there, and you can really feel it when you walk around the grounds. They have death masks of several monarchs, the armor that kings wore, the place where many individuals got beheaded, and the etchings from prisoners that are held behind glass to preserve their old yet fragile history so that you'll see you'll see etchings from famous individuals, one that ones that we're going to talk about today, even now, aside from all this, the tower is a thousand years old and has witnessed much during its life. Therefore, the walls of the tower have absorbed stories after stories left untold. But today I'm going to talk about the stories that are still being asked and spread by the very individuals themselves. The hauntings at the tower come to a total of 13, so let's get started. Bad number, I know, when I saw that I was like, oh my goodness, that's interesting. The general people, bad number for me, oh my god, that's so cool. So to start, we're going to talk about Guy Fox, who, if you are a little bit of a history buff, you might know a little bit about Guy Fox, so the story of Mr. Guy revolves around the infamous gunpowder plot of 1605 in England. Guy Fox, along with a group of conspirators, planned to assassinate King James by blowing up the House of Lords, and this is a part of Parliament. So a big, big plan for just a rid of your regards. Gun's not enough for this guy. No, he just wants to blow it up. So they did this not even on a regular day. They did this on the state opening of Parliament. So this is just right in the beginnings of Parliament, but this is happening. Oh man, it's somehow getting for own stuff. Yeah, I know, right? Now at this time in history, Catholics were forced to abandon their allegiance to the Pope and declare their loyalty to the crown of England. This was a big Catholic Protestant butting heads a lot. Now Guy Fox's goal was to restore a Catholic monarch to the throne in protest against the Protestant government's persecution of Catholics. A little background on Guy Fox, he was born in York in 1570, was a veteran of the 80 years war fought in the Spanish Netherlands, and he became involved in the gunpowder plot through his expertise with explosives. The conspirators rented a cellar beneath the House of Lords in a mass 36 barrels of gunpowder there, intending to detonate it on November 5th, 1605, when the king and Parliament would be present. Wow. However, the plot was uncovered through an anonymous letter and Fox was caught, red-handed, guarding the gunpowder on the night of November 4th. He was arrested, tortured, and eventually confessed, revealing the names of his co-conspirators. I know he was a snitch, right? He was a snitch. This guy, this guy doesn't, he doesn't talk. He just does not sound like a great guy, in my opinion. I don't fox with him. I don't fox with him. The other plotters, they were either killed resisting this arrest or executed after the trial. Or he died, but Guy Fox himself was tried for treason, found guilty, and sentenced to be hanged, drawn, and quartered. Now, I don't know if you know what that means. I did not know what that meant before going into this. I honestly was, I was like the, it is the most polite way of saying what they're actually going to do to him. Because if I'm not mistaken, part of it is cutting the open and taking stuff out. Yes. So essentially, this form of execution is reserved only for the worst treasoners and involves being dragged off this site of execution half alive. So you're like, you're hanged, you're almost dead, you're just close to being dead. They cut your mind. Yeah. And then they remove all of your body parts one by one. So not a great way to go. In prison in the Queen's Tower, Guy Fox was subjected to intense torture, likely on the rack in the white tower dungeons. And that's the rotating one. Yes. Yes. It's not also not a fun way to go. Now on the day of his execution, January 31, 1606, he famously leaped from the gallows, broke his own neck and avoided the full brutality of his execution. So you know what, Guy Fox, he was inventive. He was a very inventive person. He just jumped off and found a way out. Yeah. But that fits with his personality. He snitched and got out of, and then when he was, he snitched because he thought he was going to get out of something. And then he also got out of the torture because he got it out of all of it. I mean, how do you, there has to be some skill there of conscious thought that I'm going, no, I'll break my neck. How are you going to try to break your neck? We live our whole lives trying not to break our neck and this guy one for one on his neck breaking attempts. I know it just goes to show you like what life was like back in this time where like people were voluntarily breaking their necks to be not quartered, like what a what a time to be alive. I know. I know. I know. What a time. As much as I think I would have helped out people back then with the lack of oversight and no cameras everywhere and know this and know that I probably would have been a criminal. Personally for me, I probably would have been gone. I just, my, I, I have too much, too many opinions. I couldn't keep my mouth shut. I would just, I'm too sarcastic. People would think I actually would have thought of against the ground. I would be like, Oh, I'm going to pull a guy Fox and then all of a sudden I'm pulling a guy Fox. IRL. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. IRL. I mean, the gun, the image of the gunpowder under parliament, like that should be on their dog or their, or their your, I know, I know, but Guy Fox still hangs around the tower of London, supposedly. It is said that you can still hear his screams from the torture and brutal manner of death when walking through the white tower guards, grounds, grounds, yes, see, I like that. I do like that because what is just an apparition going to do? Uh huh. I mean, people might get scared or anything, but the way to make sure you live on and have revenge after death is capturing the vocal part, not so much the visual part. Yeah. So I do, I would be more afraid of a sound. If I'm walking around the tower of London, I'm a guard and all of a sudden they start hearing some of these screams, like blood curling screams, that is terrifying. If I just see you chilling there, sitting around, I'm not, you do your thing. You, you sit there, you ghost, you do your ghost stuff. No, it's true because we see people every day that we don't interact with. I mean, probably 90% of the people we see on a daily basis, we don't interact with. We just see them around, but it's probably close to like 75% that if you hear somebody talking to you, you're going to, or if you hear somebody, you know, you're, they're going to interact with you. It's a whole different level of consciousness or whatever. You know what I mean? It's a whole different level. So I agree with you, we've all been there where, I mean, not even in paranormal, like you thought you saw, oh, I thought, yeah, there was an animal over there. You know what I mean? And it's not, or it could have been. You know what I mean? And you look twice and it's gone and you start like, oh, exactly, you look twice, or somebody might have, you know, say a neighbor, you're walking down has like a rake and like a grill tarp or something. And you're like, oh, I thought it was a person in a jacket and you look again and you see what it really is. We've all done that. But have you heard something? Owning a rental property sounds like a dream. Collect a rent and relax. That is until you realize how much work goes into getting it ready. You wouldn't even know. True. You wouldn't even know. If I walk this back and I'm just talking to like nobody, I'm having a full conversation with somebody. Oh my gosh. Be on news. Yeah. Now the next person I'm going to be talking about is a personal favorite I guess you could say. Favorite ghost. I have a lot of, I've done a lot of personal research on her. You may know her as the second wife of Henry VIII, Miss Anne Boleyn. Oh, yes. Yes. She is famous for a very tragic, yes, the very tragic banner of her death. Anne Boleyn was Catherine of Aragon's Lady in waiting and Catherine of Aragon was the first wife of Henry VIII. Henry became infatuated with Anne and sought to marry her. But this desire led to a bitter conflict with the Catholic church. As you know, if you're a Catholic, you cannot get divorced. That's like a big no no. So Henry broke away from the Catholic church and established his own church of England so he could divorce Catherine and marry Anne in a secret ceremony in 1533. And then Anne was crowned Queen of England shortly thereafter. So we found a little bit of a loophole. Now, however, Anne failed to produce a male heir. She did produce Queen Elizabeth I, who is arguably, very arguably one of the better marks in British history. But again, that didn't matter back then. It just mattered if you produced some male heir. So her inability to give him, hers this son, coupled with her strong personality and political enemies led to her downfall in a 1536. She was accused of adultery, incest, and treason. She was arrested, tried, and found guilty in a trial that was wildly seen as a sham. Because I mean, come on, if you're the crown versus Anne Boleyn, if you're a German, who are you going to side with? So on May 19, 1536, Anne Boleyn was executed by beheading at the Tower of London. I saw this spot that she was beheaded, as well as a couple other individuals here. And it is a very eerie sight, but they do a great job, honestly, of honoring people that were executed. Obviously, majority of them were executed. I'm fairly, probably. Yeah. So they do a great job, honestly, of recognizing that. Now Anne's ghost is said to haunt the Tower of London, where she spends most of her days spent, most of her days imprisoned. There have been numerous reported sightings and experiences associated with Anne's spirit. And one of the most famous ghostly phenomena is known as Anne Boleyn's procession. Witnesses have claimed to see a procession of ghostly figures walking silently through the Tower grounds, led by a headless Anne Boleyn, carrying her own severed head. I know what she's like. I'm never letting you guys forget about this. So she's trying to out drama our guy Fox here, because that is dramatic. That is drama. You know what, I'm going to haunt this place and carry my own severed head. But to be fair, guys' haunting sounded scary. Hers is more sad to me, on the sad spectrum of hauntings, carrying your own head, and then a procession. Because the procession means people really cared about you. Yes. You know what I mean? Yeah. And so for you to be degraded by, which it is, it's like an embarrassment death. You know what I mean by beheading. It is to be accused of all these things, just because you've never produced a male hair. You know, really tops everything and they're like, "What are you doing?" Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. So they wanted to drag her through the mud and then cut her head off. But it seems like when you have a procession, you are somewhat revered. So I feel more sad in that haunting. Yes. A lot of these do have that sad undertone because once you hear their backstory, it makes it feel more like a person than like, because a lot of the times we get caught up in like, "Oh, this is just, it doesn't even feel like a real person when we're talking about this." But she was a young girl who was accused of all this, married this man and all of a sudden died because of a political plot. At one point I probably knew this, but do you know how many tries she had to bear a son and just didn't do it? So she had, they had, no. So essentially what happened was she miscarried and this miscarriage was seen as like his son. This was like, "You killed my son." And then once you hug it again and they found out that it was a girl, she completely became so upset and it spiraled from there. I believe she probably did have other miscarriages as well, but I only know the one. Man, that's sad. Yeah, very sad, very sad. There's a lot of movies about her and it's very sad how her relationship with her daughter and a lot of things like that and a lot of, it's very sad, her story. It's hard not to, you know, you're being ostracized for having a daughter, but you still have the parent gene in you or the parent, you know, to be a parent to this person and, you know, there has to be a feeling of, "I can't win here. I can't win." Especially. It's good if I am as a mother, the worst is going to make me look on the other end. Yes, especially as a female at that time. You can't really win. Especially against the king. Where do you, now? No. I mean, you just better hope it comes out a bit funny. That's all you can do. You just have to pray. Yeah. Speaking of coming out of boy, the next ghost is actually one of the kings. We have, yes, we have King Henry the Six, so he's known for his piety and he's also known for his kindness. He became king in 1422 at the Lee Age of Nine Musolds. He ruled during the tumultuous period of the War of the Roses marked by conflict between the rival houses of Lancaster and York. Now, Henry the Sixth reign was fraught with a lot of challenges. He was initially seen as a unifying figure. His weak leadership and bouts of mental instability contributed to political instability. Now his queen Margaret of, I'm going to butcher this name, Anjou, Anjou. She was incredibly formidable and she was a very ambitious figure who played a significant role in the conflicts of the time. In 1461, however, Henry the Six was deposed by the Yorkist led by Edward IV. Despite brief periods of restoration, he spent much of the next decade in captivity until his death in 1471, who possibly, he possibly was murdered, speculately murdered on the orders of King Henry IV. It'd be hard to tell if somebody was murdered back then. Yeah, you never know. Yeah. Henry the Sixth was a symbol of linkastrian loyalty and suffered during the turmoil of this war. It is said that Henry the Sixth ghost haunts several locations associated with his life and death, including the tower. He was imprisoned there twice before his death and his presence is often associated with a weakfield tower where he was confined, excuse me. Reports of his ghost include sightings of a sad, confused figure wandering the tower corridors or kneeling in prayer. No. Isn't that so sad when I quote that? Heartbreaking. Let me try to figure this out. You have this one king who's killing his wife or baby mama. Let's just call it what it is. Anytime they don't have a boy, this guy's known for his piety, his kindness, restoration and unity. And then the people are like, you know what, we got to get him to hell out of here. Right. You can't win. You can't win. I can't win. Pick and choose. Pick and choose. Like seriously. I mean, it's awful. They called him weak, but I guarantee it was probably because he didn't want to go to war and spend the war money on things that help English citizens. I guarantee you that's what happened. He also had no guidance on how to become King, because he became, excuse me, at nine months old. Nine months old and he didn't have anybody to tell him how to do it except like, I mean, anybody who's that young and their king and they have to grow up or grow into the king ship. I know. Imagine if you were there like six seventh grade girlfriend. You are. Oh my gosh. You better hope she was you. Yeah, I do have a little bit more of a lighthearted one. Cool. I have a little bit more of a lighthearted one. It's about the ghost of a bear. Now this is funny because when I was exploring the Tower of London, there was a little plaque somewhere and it said, it said, a short excerpt of this story, it was like a sentence. And I remember taking a picture of it and sending it to my friends. That means this is hilarious. And little did I know that he actually haunts the grounds, this bear. So like an animal, yes, a real bear. So it's definitely one of the more unusual and it's lesser known. But according to the legend, during the reign of King Henry III, the Tower of London housed a menagerie of exotic animals, including a polar bear. The bear was kept in a pit near the tower's river where it would swim and catch fish and like entertain visitors. Now this bear became a symbol of the tower's exotic and fearsome reputation, oh my gosh, reputation, excuse me, during these times. Okay. Now, the story goes that this bear met a very unfortunate end while it was a spectacle for the visitors. The conditions in which it was kept was far from ideal. It is said that the bear's spirit still roams the grounds of the tower, perhaps seeking revenge for its mistreatment or simply lingering as a remnant of its once captive existence. Members and guards over the years have claimed to have seen or sensed the presence of a ghostly bear. Reports often describe feelings of unease or encountering a large shadowy figure resembling a bear in areas where the menagerie once should. The ghost of a bear is said to appear from behind the door of the jewel room. It's a ghost of a black bear as well as also reported in the Martin Tower. So we have a black bear and a polar bear. A polar forest. Yeah. We got the whole, whole, everybody's hanging out. Now it didn't really talk about this in the article that I looked, but the at the official tower of London, the little plaque, it said that the bear died from eating too much food. They died, it ate too much food and died. That is because they just kept feeding it. I didn't know a bear would eat to that point. I know certain animals do, fish, I know they'll do, but I would think a mammal wouldn't be too far from us and would have similar synapses where, hey, I feel full, I'm going to stop. You know what I mean? Because what's say some out in the woods, what they, I mean, there's plenty of game everywhere. Mm hmm. Oh, I don't understand. I think there was too much cake. I think they were feeding it left over sweet left over everything. And it just would eat it. And think about these feasts, I think that's what it said. I wish I don't have my phone with me. But I had it, I took a picture of this plaque because I thought it was hilarious that this bear died from eating too much cake. I'm like, what a way to go though, you're going to go die with a cake. Let them be cake. Bear said that. Yeah, literally. Margaret, Marie Antoinette, he took some advice. Back to Sattertail, we have Sir Walter Raleigh. Oh, I know this. So Sir Walter Raleigh is a very prominent figure in English history during the 16th and early 17th centuries. He's known for his exploits as an explorer and a favorite of Queen Elizabeth I. Raleigh was born in 1552 and gained favor with Queen Elizabeth I due to his charm, intelligence and daring spirit. He became known for his efforts to establish of English colonies in the New World, particularly in present day North Carolina, which if you know anything about North Carolina, you know that there's a very beautiful town called Raleigh. Yes, and he also named Virginia after to honor the Queen Elizabeth I who is also known as the Virgin Queen, which I did not know that that's how Virginia became Virginia. No, no, yeah, you'd have to get into a little bit of history back then to figure out who came from where and all that. Yes. Yes. Now despite these successes, Raleigh's late life was very tumultuous. After Queen Elizabeth I's death, he fell out of favor with her successor King James I. He was then accused of treason for some reason and imprisoned in the Tower of London in 1603. They were just throwing people there at this point. They just, oh, I like you going there. I bet you it was jealousy. Owning a rental property sounds like a dream, collect a rent and relax. And then when he got in, he's like, you know, I'm going to get my revenge, you know, because everybody had a revenge motive. Anybody before 1800 that was born, you were born with some kind of revenge store. You had to fulfill. Now, while Raleigh was imprisoned, he wrote a famous work called The History of the World, which I've never read and I've never heard of, but I'm sure is probably more popular than I'm aware of. As a history minor, we had to read. Oh, yeah. Now in 1618, Raleigh was released from the tower with the king's permission to lead an expedition to find gold in South America. Sadly, this expedition was a failure and upon his return, he was executed for his earlier treason conviction. You come back with no gold and you're just going to like you. Now this treason is said to have been due to plots against the king, I don't know, whatever that means, plots against the king. Now Raleigh is said to haunt the bloody tower where he was imprisoned. The bloody tower gains its name not from Raleigh's presence, but from an earlier unrelated incident. However, Raleigh's spirit is said to wander the tower, sometimes seen as a shadowy figure or heard as disembodied footsteps echoing through the four doors. Just wanted to explore, I just wanted to travel the world, so we wanted to just send him on a ship. Like, if he was really that much of a nuisance to the king, the new king, you're like, you know what, you want to discover, go discover out there. When you come back, you go to this port, you free fill with everything, whatever you want and then you go off again. You don't have to kill everybody, but you know what, it was probably he was no liked by English folk, you know, like the countryside or the townspeople. He was probably well liked and that is what he couldn't say. That's probably, yes, yes, definitely. The next story I have is about the faceless young woman, it's a little bit of a shorter story. Now, according to this legend, the ghost of a young woman with no face has been seen in the modern corridors of the Tower of London. She is said to her clothes that appear to be from the medieval or to period, adding to the mystery surrounding her identity in origin. Visitors and guards alike, have reported sightings of the mostly figure over the years. Witnesses describe her as appearing suddenly and then then without a trace, feeling the eyes and dread. The identity of a faceless young woman remains a mystery as does the re-haunting. As there are no historical records or documented evidence, excuse me, that definitively explain my life or why she continues to linger at the Tower of London. My personal, I think it's probably Catherine, no, what's her name? Henry VIII's, Catherine Howard, it's one of his wives. She was also executed there, but they don't really, they didn't really talk about her on this list and she has a pretty sad story as well and she was also the head. Henry VIII, he was, maybe to his wife, he was an embarrassment and her eternal want is that she doesn't want her face seen, but still wants to be there as like an embarrassment shade to Henry VIII, because I mean, he's one of the ones you definitely know, there's a whole number of Henry's. It was honestly hilarious walking around and seeing his like, what's it called, armor? Because he was a big guy, wow, this armor was huge, probably could fit, like probably could have fit all of his wives in that armor, like wow, I don't even, he had the power of the king, I guess, oh that's funny to go, that's funny. So back to some sad stuff here. I don't know if you've heard of the story of Margaret Poll, yep. She didn't get, it wasn't a clean kill, let's just say. No, it wasn't, it really wasn't. So essentially Margaret Poll, she was the Countess of Salisbury, she was a very, very prominent figure in the Tudor time in England. She was born in 1473 and her life was deeply intertwined with political power struggles at the time. Now her fortunes were drastically changed with the rise of the Tudor dynasty and she initially enjoyed a lot of favor at the court of King Henry VII. She was married to Sir Richard Poll with whom she had five children. However, during the reign of King Henry VIII, here he is again, her family's loyalty to the Tudor crown came into question. Now her son Henry Poll became, or was allegedly conspiring against the crown, again, another one of those. So he was executed and after this, Margaret herself fell under the same suspicion of conspiring against the crown. In 1539 she was arrested and imprisoned in the tower. Despite her advanced age and lack of evidence against her, Margaret was accused of treason and sentenced to death. Her execution was carried out May 27, 1541 when she was around 67 years old. Her execution was particularly brutal and botched as the inexperienced executioner took multiple blows to sever her head. The grisly event left a lasting impression on those who witnessed it. This surprised me slightly because, at least in like Anne Boleyn or a lot of more prominent figures like herself, they would pay the executioner money before they would go to the block, pay them, so that way it was a cleaner break. So I wonder if she did that at home, I don't necessarily know. So for what it's worth back then, you have to have a strong guy to, I mean, just a normal guy can't do it. You have to have a strong guy with a really sharp blade and he has to have the momentum and a strong steel to cut through everything and make it the clean break like how it's supposed to be. If you missed, or he was drunk and he just missed, if you missed too high, well, too high would kill him. If you missed too low, you start to get into the muscle of the torso and the bones of the torso, which are stronger. And so if you go too low, you're, oh crap, you know, you cut in far enough that it would have broke the neck or severed the neck, but you're still in the torso and you got to go again. And now you're dealing with a moving target. So now you're going to further down, further down. I know. And she's 67. It shouldn't have been, it shouldn't have, no age from here, but you just aren't going to be as strong as somebody who was less, you know what I mean? So if, and then if you cut to the side or you cut too far down, now it's going to be a ghastly sight because you start cutting jugulars and things like that and it's spraying everywhere. Everybody's getting blood on them and it's a whole mess. I don't, a lot of people were traumatized after witnessing this. And you have to think how bad it was to see this, they, they're used to seeing this. So how traumatizing must it have been? It must have been very, very bad. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. As for her ghost, she, she does ghost or does haunt as a ghost, she does go. She goes. She's her style, her style side hustle is ghost. She, her sightings are, are particularly eerie, witnesses just scribe encounters with a woman in Tudor air clothing, often appearing distressed or wandering the corridors of the tower. Eyewitnesses say the executioner on that fateful day in 1541 was a wretched and blundering youth who unable to perform a clean execution with his axe instead hacked at pulls head and shoulders, that scream that she let out at the attack of her shoulders echoes through the towers with her ghost. Well like Fox, he's the, he, he's the vocal guy, which is the better way to do it. We already decided that. Yes. Yes. Yes. Owning a rental property sounds like a dream, collect a rent and relax. Another light hearted one, we have the white figure. So witnesses over the years have reported sightings of a tall, ghostly figure dressed in white robes or armor. The appearance of the white figure is usually accompanied by feelings of coldness or unease or a sudden drop in temperature. Some accounts describe the figure as carrying a lantern or a torch adding to its eerie presence. The identity is obviously a mystery, as does the reason for the haunting, but again like the faceless young woman. There are several theories as to who it could be. One popular theory that suggests that it could be a former guard who served at the tower and met a tragic death, but again, you can't really sit there and hey, ghost, who are you? What were you in life? I just said in that of itself that you're not known, like how some of these other ones are because a guard would be like replaceable honestly to them. Yes, yes. This next one is another sad one. Oh, honestly, I didn't even think about that. They could. They could. I don't think it's a big thing in Europe. I think that's I don't know though. I think that might be more here. Yeah, but I could be wrong. I could be wrong. I don't. I'm not a man. The monarch in this penis were bringing stuff from everywhere, so it wouldn't surprise me if they had access to it. That's true. Yeah. This next one is a personal I personally really I don't even know how to describe it. I just really attached to this story. It's about Lady Jane Gray. I wrote an article about her in my time in London. She was my final paper. I went to the National Gallery and I saw this beautiful painting. If you are ever in London, please go see this painting. It is near the van goes and all these beautiful paintings, but it's just so, in my opinion, the most beautiful, one of the most beautiful ones at the gallery. But enough of my ranting, Lady Jane Gray is often referred to as the nine day queen. Her tragic story is mixed with, again, a lot of political, you know, power struggles in this Tudor period. She was born in 1537 to a very noble family with strong Protestant beliefs. She was well educated, known for her intelligence and piety in 1553 at the age of just 17 years old. Jane was reluctantly placed on the throne of England by her ambitious father-in-law, John Dudley, Duke of Northern Northumberland, a very British name. Oh, yeah. Yes. This was part of a plot to prevent the Catholic Mary Tudor, later known as Queen Mary I or Bloody Mary, from assuming the throne after the death of her brother King Edward VI. I believe. Her reign only lasted nine days. And this is because Mary Tudor quickly gathered support, because at this time, again, the Catholics and the Protestants are still fighting. And after, obviously, Mary is the more, you would think that the crown would go directly to Edward's next sister. And so that garnered more support from people than a cousin getting the throne, especially someone of Protestant belief. With this, Jane was deposed. She was imprisoned in the tower, along with her husband, Guildford Dudley, with whom they shared supposedly a very, they were very in love with one another. And it is even in the article I wrote, or the essay I wrote, it is said that when she saw his head being chopped off, she weaped and cried out for him from the tower, as she watched him die. Despite Mary initially showing clemency, Jane's fate took a tragic turn when her father-in-law attempted to overthrow Mary. Jane was implicated in this plot, and although she may have been innocent, she was still executed at the age of just 17 years old. The tragic circumstances of her short life and her unjust execution have contributed to the belief that her ghost haunts the Tower of London. Reports of her ghost include sightings of a young woman dressed in Tudor clothes, wandering the tower grounds, or appearing at the window of the Bowe Champ Tower where she was imprisoned. They often describe feelings of sadness or empathy when encountering her ghost, as if she is still mourning her fate and seeking understanding or justice. Her ghost is seen as a reminder of the political intrigue and religious turmoil that marked her brief times clean and in the Tudor era. Isn't that sad? A lot for 90s. It's terrible. It's terrible. And I just think of me at 17 years old, I mean, oh my gosh, it's so sad. You're not prepared for anything. No. You probably just got your license. So… Yeah. How are you expected to rule over a whole countryside with people talking shit on YouTube? I know. But there is a new show on Amazon Prime. It's called My Lady Jane. And they do a really great job of writing her story and making it less sad. And they even include a little romance with her husband. I would recommend the show, truly, for anybody. Because as somebody who truly holds a special place in her heart for this story, I absolutely loved it. It's a book series too, if anybody's interested in that. Yeah, I want to check that out. Yes, so now another, I wanted to mix in between the sad ones, a little bit of a lighter tail. We have the monks footsteps. Now according to this legend, the ghost sounds of footsteps echo through the towers corridors. Now it doesn't say specifically which corridor, but it says that it's attributed to a monk. Witnesses and guards have reported hearing these footsteps, which are said to come from an unseen source, often when the tower is quiet and deserted. The origin of the monks footsteps hauntings is uncertain, as there is no historical record identifying a specific monk or event associated with this particularly ghostly phenomenon. However, the presence of monks in the tower's history can be traced back to medieval times when religious orders had connections to the fortress. The sounds of the monk's footsteps are described as deliberate and rhythmic, as if the monk is walking purposely through the tower. Some accounts suggest that the footsteps suddenly stop or change direction at random and adding to this mystery and intrigue. Ooh, yes, dun-dun-dun-dun! Yeah, a monk, two stepping up in the tower. I know. Alright, now back to the sad stuff, guys. But this is a back-to-back we have here, so just get ready. So the next story we have is about Arabella Stewart, which is by the way a beautiful name, Arabella. Yeah, Arabella. Very beautiful name. So she's lesser known in the Tudor history. She was a cousin to both Queen Elizabeth I and King James of England. King James I, excuse me, of England. Her tragic story in alleged hauntings are intertwined with the also familiar power struggles and political intrigue. Now, Arabella was born in 1575. She was a granddaughter of Margaret Tudor, making her a potential Clement to the English throne, which obviously makes her a threat. Yes, always. So her claim to the throne became more significant after the death of Queen Elizabeth I in 1603, which led to the ascension of King James I. As a cousin to the new king, Arabella's potential claim posed a threat to James legitimacy. Consequently, James placed restrictions on Arabella's movements and sought to control her marriage to prevent any potential challenges to his role. Arabella's desire to marry William Seymour, another royal cousin and Clement to the throne led to her downfall. The marriage was then seen as a threat to James role and Arabella was imprisoned in a tower in 1611. Her imprisonment was very harsh and she spent years in confinement. She wasn't immediately decapitated now. The best offer before too. Yes. Due to the many years in confinement, her health deteriorated and she died in 1615 reportedly from illness by the harsh conditions of our captivity. She is buried in Westminster Abbey, which is just I had the privilege of walking through that and it's just so eerie. Just you're staring at the coffin of Queen Elizabeth I, it's truly it's truly insane to look at it. Kind of before that. They don't say that. I know. Oh my gosh, no, no, no, no, that's like that's something. It's really wicked. Yeah. So this legend or not even a legend, the real person stems from this, her haunting stems from this awful circumstance and witnesses report sightings of a ghostly figure that is dressed in a white gown wandering the corridors. They describe her as looking distressed or disorientated as if she's still longing for freedom or seeking justice for her mistreatment. Yeah, back to the sad haunting there it is again woman. I know we can never we can ever do and you have a theme going here. Come on. I know. I know. I don't even it's like it's like, oh my gosh, look, you know what you could say a lot about America, but we weren't beheading people because they look this wrong. I know. I know. I know. 16 years old. Nine months old. Crazy. Crazy. Crazy. It gets worse. It gets worse. Okay. Okay. Now, this is famous and it's just so tragic. It's the tale of the young princes. If you know what it is, you'll know immediately what I'm the story I'm about to tell. So Edward the fifth and Richard of Shrewsbury, a very British name, they are they hold a very, very enduring mystery and it's so it's so sad. So Elizabeth Elizabeth, Edward, sorry, too many e-names. Yeah. Edward the fifth and his younger brother, Richard, were the sons of King Edward the fourth and Elizabeth Woodville, Edward the fifth was born in 1470 and Richard of Shrewsbury in 1473. After the death of the father of 1483, the young Edward the fifth was proclaimed king, but his uncle Richard seized power declaring the princes illegitimate due to an alleged pre-contract of marriage involving their father. So the young princes were lodged in the Tower of London, a common residence for monarchs and their families at the time. Very being next in line to the throne, they were never crowned. Their fate remains a mystery, but historical accounts suggest they disappeared from public view after the summer of 1483. The most widely accepted theory is that the princes were murdered on the order of their uncle who later became King Richard the third. Their deaths would have cleared the way for Richard the third to seize the throne. The exact circumstances of their deaths and the location of the remains have never been definitively established, but this legend of the princes in the Tower haunting the Tower of London emerged only centuries after the disappearance, reports of ghostly sightings and encounters date back to the 16th century. So this is not just a new thing. This has emerged throughout countless stories of centuries. Witnesses claim to have seen or felt the presence of two young boys wearing white night shirts wandering the Tower corridors hand in hand. They are often described as looking sad or frightened as if they are still searching for answers. So sad, oh my gosh, now in 1674 during renovations at the Tower of London, workers made a grim discovery, a wooden box buried under a staircase in the white tower containing two small skeletons. These bones were immediately suspected to belong to these two princes, however due to the inconclusive DNA testing and the tampering of evidence because of how long it's been since they were found, it cannot be it cannot be confirmed nor denied whether or not they are the boys bones, but it is wildly accepted that these are the bones of these boys. And the mystery of what actually happened to them remains completely unresolved. Oh man, so it probably is those boys, who else is going to be that small anyway and put body in here? Yeah, who else and two bones, I mean, two sets of little, I mean, it definitely is, but again, the crowd is going to come out and say that, they're not going to say, oh yeah, you know, but I remember walking by the same staircase that they referred to during this. Wow. Oh my gosh, the beating in my chest, oh my gosh, because I the first time I went there, I didn't know any of these stories, and then the second time I went, I knew them. And so I'm just walking around, I'm like, hey, Anne, people in girl, what's up? Hey, yeah, I really like being recognized, I'm sure, the final story. This I feel is a great way to tie them all together. Okay. The story is about the nameless thing, the final 13th ghost. The nameless thing at the tower is a mysterious and unsettling entity, often mentioned in tales of the tower's paranormal activity. Now, unlike many other specific ghost stories associated with the tower, the nameless thing is shrouded in its ambiguity and speculation accounts of the nameless thing described as a presence or entity that instills fear and unease in those who encounter it. Witnesses often report feelings of dread, coldness, or an oppressive atmosphere when near its supposed presence. The nameless thing is said to manifest as a dark, shapeless shadow or a formless presence that defies description. One theory surrounding the nameless thing suggests it could be a manifestation of the accumulated negative energy or residual emotions from centuries of imprisonment, torture and executions that took place within the tower walls. Another interpretation is that the nameless thing represents an amalgamation of the suffering and anguish experienced by those whose names and stories have been lost to history, yet whose presence is felt in the atmosphere of the tower. Yeah, so with all of that horrible stuff that's going on there, that's going to attract demons and the like at that point because they feed off the suffering and all of that. Of course, it makes sense that there would be a demonic or a shadow type. It doesn't have to be demonic. I don't want to cast a blanket out of it in there, but it lends to reason something dark is going to be there because it's a place where you can feed on a lot of energy, a lot of negative energy, more specifically. Let's take a look at the text board, Lee in Florida, what Hammersmith Ghost Murder be London? Oh, is that okay? Oh, I am so glad you know what that is. So the Hammersmith Ghost Murder is not at the Tower of London. It's in West London in Hammersmith, obviously. And what that involves is a person who there was a rumor of this banshee beast, a ghost entity that was breaking into people's homes and harassing people and all that kind of stuff. This one painter in his white overalls with paint all over him and a white coat and a white cape was walking home. This one person who have never seen him before. This one person who has never seen him before shot and killed him. Oh my gosh. So after this court went to the highest court, which was a petition to the king in England, this guy got off for a sentence to death to one year of hard labor, which is, you know, nothing to them over there. They all did hard labor all the time. So what that basis was of Hammersmith was brought all the way over here. Many decades later, this for your standard ground laws. So if somebody you perceive as a threat is attacking or on your property, you have the right to defend yourself. Now this guy, it's a little gray because this guy wasn't, you know, doing any of that. But because the town was under the tents of havoc being raised. So let's bring that over here, say there's a riot going on and you see somebody on your property who has like he fit the description for the ghost, say somebody's walking with like a TV on your property and you think and you shoot him and really he was walking through your property. He wasn't walking, you know, it wasn't from your house at all. You still are protected under that. So I just wanted to throw that out there that Lee, all right, good job, man. That is a wonderful, wonderful ghost murder. Oh, Roger New Orleans, 107.7 FM in New Orleans. Welcome back, Emma. Oh, that was nice.
