And that was from Logan Barone, the author of The Mystery in You. So without further ado, I'm going to bring on Brandy Anderson to the show. Brandy, welcome to Beyond the Radar. How are you doing? Hi, Thomas. Great to be here. Thank you for having me on your show. Oh, not a problem. Not a problem at all. I'm just a wonderful fit for the network, wonderful show. Congrats on Through the Veil, congrats on writing a book. Anybody, to me, anybody who seems to write this type of genre or in this genre, it's a passion project. I haven't met anybody who hasn't been a passion project for. And so doing something that you're really passionate about and putting it out there for the world to see is one of the most intimate things anybody can do. You know what I mean? Especially as a writer, I'm a writer too. And letting people see that. And then a part of the process that many people don't know about is the critiquing that goes into it as well. You know, we put ourselves out there and we don't know what's going to come back, but we do it because we love it. So I just want to say, I'm very impressed with that. Thank you so much. Yeah, yeah, that's exactly how it is. I mean, you do you pour yourself into what you're writing, especially in this genre. And, you know, if you're going to get some negative pushback from some, but I think where we place our awareness, you know, that's what we ultimately end up with. And so I just focus on all the positive feedback and the people that are benefited by what I had put out. And yeah, so, but it's been fun and it's great to get to talk about it. No, you're absolutely right. And I love what you said about where you place your awareness, because that perception is your reality. And people can get stuck in it and it's sad. You know, when my father passed years ago, I was a victim. I'm not going to shame anybody because it happened to me. You know, and well with me, everything bad happens to me and only me. You know, that type of mindset. And then you might fall into bad habits that come from that, because it's the only thing that makes you think you can get comfort from it. But it's, you're exactly right, where we place our awareness dictates a lot of what we do. And one of the hardest things, and you can see it from a mile away with somebody, is when they have that victim mindset of well with me, you know, all of that. So, you know, I haven't heard many touch on that, but that's very, very powerful. Yeah, for sure. And, you know, when you put yourself out there like that, there are going to be some that it just doesn't resonate with, and that's okay. And so you just have to let those people, you know, go on their way and think what they will. But when we do put out as a writer, I'm sure you know this, you know, when you write, you're hoping to connect with those who are open to it, to those who are ready for what you're sharing. And not everyone is. And so, yeah, just keep your awareness on the people that you can help, you know, the people who are in a similar place in their journey also. Absolutely, absolutely. Because when I think about writing, what you put on that, you know, paper is not so much words on a document. It's a transfer of consciousness from you to them about what you are writing about. And that's what ultimately helped me fall in love with the aspect of writing is because I want people to feel what I feel. I don't want them to look at, you know, black font on a white paper. You know what I mean? Oh, yeah, absolutely. It's coming alongside the reader in a way that adds value to their lives. And so, yeah, that's what I try to keep in mind and just press forward into that more than anything. Yeah, absolutely. So let's get into your questions here about the book and you. And I'm going to start off with a heavy one. What is the purpose of life? Well, ultimately, the purpose of life is to awaken. So simply put, it is just to awaken into the reality that you are one with God and all others. So, you know, people say they want to know the purpose of life, but I don't really think that's true. And as Joseph Campbell intuited what people want is the rapture of being alive. And so, based after the purpose of life, we often miss life itself. But if we, you know, back up and realize and see, you know, holistically, the full picture of things, all of life is designed to awaken us. And so the purpose is just to awaken, to raise our consciousness and to be fully present in the moment, in every moment, and embrace life just as it is. Well said, very well said and spoken like a true expert. To me, my next follow-up from that comes with why are there so many distractions that do take us away from what we are meant to be? Yeah, I would say that it's because we are in this incarnated existence, this world of form, the 3D reality that we found ourselves in, the world of material, the material world, is a distraction in and of itself. And the more identified we are with the material world, the more distracted we become. So, ultimately, it's about seeing through all of that, the world of form, all that it offers, all of the tantalizing aspects of the world of form is to see through it and see it for what it is. You know, in spiritual circles, you often hear people say the world is illusion, or the world of form is illusion, and people sometimes think that means that the world that they're saying, that the world doesn't exist, but that's not it, it's an illusion in that we don't see it as it really is. So, it's about seeing through the material world of form and realizing that all that we don't see supports what we do see. Absolutely, you know, many different people have interpretations just like you said, but I have heard that the world is an illusion before from other people, you know, sitting right alongside of me, you know, on this show. And, you know, it's just, you know, it's very hard to get yourself to shift into that mindset for, you know, for like a layman person or so, you know what I mean? Because we, you know, we are bills come every month and things like that that do distract us, and they make you think one thing is the correct way of living, and everybody who I've talked to who has communicated with the other side, one comforting thing to me is that you all say the same thing. You all, you know, it's not different messages from different ways and different things like that. There's comfort in that to me, because what you've experienced other people have experienced, and it lends comfort to me that, you know, okay, there is something after death. Yeah, yeah, I mean, I think a lot of people, there's, there's a difference between an experiential knowing and a cognitive knowing. I believe that, you know, in the reality of something after death, something spiritual, and even, you know, in a lot of churches, it's it's all about going to heaven or not going to hell when we die. So it's all about an afterlife focus, but to have an experiential knowing of that is a different matter entirely. And so yeah, the experience that I had with communicating with my grandmother and other loved ones now on the other side has brought it into sharp focus in a way that I could not have anticipated. Conceptually, I would have given mental assent to a lot of things before that experience, but the experience in and of itself really, I don't know, it just served to make it more real and intangible. What more of my lived reality, that would be a better way to say it, because you can believe something mentally and not live as though it's true. But what we really, truly believe we it if we live, we will live as though it's true. And so it's allowed me to be able to drop down into it as an experience as, you know, as as a true belief, because of that experience. Absolutely. Brandi, you must be a seasoned professional on the podcast tour circuit, because you knew exactly where I was going with the next question. How did you come to communicate with your grandmother after her death? Oh, well, that is a great question. So I should back up a little bit and just say that when people are nearing the end, coming to the end of their physical life, the veil between the spiritual and physical becomes thin. And so this is why oftentimes on, you know, people on their deathbeds will report to see people who aren't really there. They're speaking with loved ones who have already crossed that type of thing. And then at the moment that a person actually dies, the veil opens entirely. It creates an opening called a portal that people just slip through. And it's usually an instantaneous phenomenon. But because my grandmother had an aversion to death, she was resisting. And so in the moment of her crossing, she resisted in a way that caused her to become stuck, if you will, between two realities, the physical and the spiritual, which is not ideal. And because she was stuck, her portal remained open. But then she got some sense of clarity about what was happening to her and became unstuck pretty quickly. But the portal was still open because of what had happened when she crossed. And because she had this open portal, it allowed her to affect the physical realm in ways that she otherwise would not have been able to. And so in the course of time, it was probably a couple of months after she crossed, she reached out for the first time through the SMART TV. It's a Roku television. Oh, really? Yeah. They were horrified, so the television came on by itself, navigated to the search, and the word hello appeared in the search in the search bar. Oh, my. In my family, they ran out shrieking bright, and they called me just completely beside themselves. I was the voice of reason. I'm like, "Oh, well, maybe someone has hacked the television." I was like, "Maybe the batteries are low in the remote," and it's called in it, because that can affect. But anyway, in the course of time, we did determine that it was not a hacker and that it was indeed my grandmother. Wow, man, that's a beautiful story. Electronics, as a paranormal investigator, we know to debunk first. You know what I mean? You got to debunk first and all of that. When you check the batteries and there was no other remote that can operate that TV, and nobody got lucky sitting on the remote and it just hit those letters in succession, there is that moment of, "Okay, I've tried everything I thought that could debunk this, and it's true." And then in that moment, you have that feeling of, "Wow, that can happen." You know what I mean? Oh, man, fear is that's totally normal. You're going to be scared. I mean, it didn't matter if it's your grandmother or somebody you never met before. It's still scary, you know, so I don't blame them at all for that. But let me ask you this, how did you know it was your grandmother? Okay, so like I said, the first word was just hello, and she stopped. When she saw that everyone was frightened, she turned the television back off, and then waited a few days and tried again. And the next time she typed the word love, but they still were horrified. So then she shut the TV off again, so she would just keep trying, and finally I said, "We should just sit down and engage with this. We should try to determine what's happening, it's not stopping, it's frightening everyone." I mean, my aunt had actually moved out, she was so afraid of what was happening. So as we engaged, sat down in a calm manner and began to determine, you know, we were trying to see, could anybody be hacking the system? The perimeter, the cameras on the perimeter showed no activity, so there was no one near the house, like, you know, close enough. Yeah, and the remote that we that we had for that television, we had taken the batteries out, and it was sitting visibly in front of everyone. And so we were trying to take a practical approach to determine who this was, what did they want, and as we began to engage, it became increasingly clear that it could not even be anyone in the physical realm at all, because whoever it was could read our thoughts in real time, and it rocked us. Yeah, they were able to, yeah, just know what we were thinking and, you know, and so multiple times she began to say things that we were thinking before we could verbalize or articulate what our thoughts were, like a question in our mind, but before we actually asked it, she would answer. And we were just like, we were rocked, we didn't know what to think. I mean, you know, we were mind blown. And so after that, we knew we're not dealing with someone in the physical realm here, it's definitely something spiritual, you know, someone who could read our thoughts, you know, a telepathic type of communication. So at that point, we began to tentatively press forward in the manner that it might be our grandmother, but we weren't convinced. We wanted to make sure it wasn't something bad. You know, we were all raised in a Christian context. And so, you know, the mainstream evangelical teaching is that any kind of activity is just its demons. You can't communicate with your loved ones. And so there was all of that, that propaganda swirling around in our thought system. But eventually we did. We determined that it was my grandmother because of her great devotion and love for certain family members. She apologized for some past past hurts. She reconciled some relationships that needed reconciling. She addressed some patterns in people's lives that were destructive. She literally saved some lives. So yeah, if it was just a random spirit or something bad, it would not be at all interested in all of those very personal familial relationships the way that my grandmother was. Wow, wow. I mean, what a beautiful story and to have so many, you know, outcomes happen because of this is wonderful. You know, it sounds like she was really a high vibrational spirit when she went and was able to, you know, write a lot of wrongs that way. But let's, you know, that experience happens to you. Okay. How did that change your trajectory of life? How that made you into what you are today? Yeah. So, well, I've learned a lot. Initially when we were communicating, it was just to determine who is this? What do they want? And, you know, all of the initial communications were just about family matters, personal things going on. But because I am on a conscious spiritual journey with a lot of theological and philosophical questions, I took the opportunity to press in with those types of questions. And so, the things that I have been able to have conversation with my grandmother about has really brought into sharp focus. For me, all of those theological and philosophical topics in a way that it's more like I was saying earlier, more of a lived reality. I have more peace. I'm able to be more present in the moment. Yeah, it just I see ultimately what's really important, you know, it helps me to see through that illusion of this world of form and see that that the unseen is what really is supporting everything that we do see and and how I should try to live in alignment now. Go ahead and see through all of the illusions now because when we cross, one thing I've learned from my grandmother is that when we cross the full light of clarity shines upon us. And so, there is no duplicity. There is no ego on the other side. So, all of the deceit and by the seat, I mean, like self-deception, we we deceive ourselves. We, you know, we don't see certain aspects of ourselves clearly or rightly. So, but when we cross, we do. And so, it's particularly painful for people who are really immersed in the world of form. So, for me, I have learned the importance of addressing those things now, bringing myself into alignment now. It's a matter of inner integrity versus later on the other side where it would be more painful. Oh, wow. It sounds, and let me ask you this, it sounds like you have shifted into a view of reincarnation, correct? Yes, that's correct. And so, how has that impacted your worldview? Yeah, so, well, reincarnation is, you know, is not a part of the Christian tradition that I was raised in. So, my worldview is shaped by the belief that people are given one short physical lifetime to get things right. Yeah, so, the general idea was that we just have this one physical lifetime to accept Jesus, or we'll go into an eternal hellfire of torment, which is a very nihilistic view of reality. So, but, but for communicating with my grandmother, I had already shifted out of that very nihilistic and fear-based view of reality, and I was in more of a contemplative space. So, I had shifted away from belief in the doctrine of an eternal conscious torment. Hey, it's Ryan Seacrest. But by the time that my grandmother crossed, I had come to see that universal reconciliation was probably the most likely reality, so I was a hopeful universalist. But after she crossed, and I was able to communicate with her, when she told us that reincarnation is the truth, it caused me to just re-evaluate everything that I thought I knew about reincarnation and the reality of how that could play in to the grace of God. I mean, reincarnation really is a testament to the grace of God. I mean, we're afforded unlimited opportunities to awaken. So it's not just this one short little life where we get, you know, get one little chance to get it right or else. So that, mainly, it's that, that I see the cycles of reincarnation in all of life, really. I mean, everything is a life and death, you know, a beginning and an end. Every moment is a, you know, is a reincarnation, really. And so when you start to view life from that way, you see that reincarnation really is woven into the fabric of reality, in a way that's hard to miss. I mean, you almost, it's hard to miss unless you are conditioned to miss it. The seasons tell you that, you know, everything. Yeah, you're exactly right. I mean, we, we have, we put such an emphasis on teaching seasons to children early on. You know, that's one of the first things kids learn and all of that. And, you know, from that aspect, you know, we accepted so much in one facet, and then we don't in another. And it's, you know, you know, it's unlimited times to, like you said, unlimited times to awaken, you know, but ultimately, you can lead the horse to water, but you can't make a drink, right? But in your estimation, or your, you know, professional experience or expert analysis, whichever you want to call it, when you're talking about unlimited chances to get things right, how does hell or the idea of hell play a part in that? Yeah. So, well, when you see, when you believe that, like I said before, you get one short life to make a decision about Jesus or you either go to heaven or hell for all eternity in a spiritual, you know, in a spiritual reality, then, you know, the idea of reincarnation just doesn't fit. It doesn't compute. You can't, you can't include reincarnation in your worldview if that's your idea of heaven and hell. But when you come to see that heaven and hell are states of existence, they're not places that we'd go to, but places. And we begin to see that heaven is available right here and now, as is hell, the reality of hell. I mean, Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is within you. So, it is very much an inner reality. So, the idea of hell being a place that we go to is erroneous. However, I must say that there is a fire that my grandmother speaks up on the other side and it's a cleansing or purifying fire. So, it's not a tormenting fire of eternal format and a situation. It's the purpose of the fire is to burn away everything that interferes with love or that keeps you from being in alignment, to being whole. So, everyone will pass through this fire on the other side. Although, not immediately, you don't leave the physical realm and then suddenly you're thrust into this fire, you're aware, you go into it with awareness. And so, like when we first cross, we cross over and our family members would be waiting for us, loved ones on the other side, helping us, spirit gods even, helping us to get our bearings. And then, we would have to consciously take the steps to go through that fire, to burn away all that isn't serving us really. And it's a particularly painful process for people who are really identified with the world of full arm when they cross. So, basically, whatever level of consciousness that we have attained at the time of our crossing, we carry it with us into the afterlife. Okay. All right. And I've heard, it's explained similarly from many people, spiritual guides, advisors. One thing is the purification that happens. You know what I mean? I totally believe in that. But you're saying the more you're attached to the physical form, do you mean like the more you enjoy or indulge in sinful activities? Is that what you mean? Well, I mean, not even necessarily sin. Well, I mean, I guess you could say simple. I mean, in my view, sin is missing the mark. And I would say that sin is just seeing ourselves as separate from God and others. That's really what sin is at its core. So, it's not so much the bad things we do. It's a state of fragmentation that we're living from. But the bad things we do are just the fruit of that fragmented way of being. So, yes, in that sense, yes. So, it's not so much about all the little particular things that we may have done or not done. It's about our perception of the world and how we, it's our inner condition, our heart posture. Oh, okay. Okay. I understand. When you talk about reincarnation, do you have any idea about a timeframe? Like once you pass through your purification, do you learn what you did wrong and what you need to get right? Yeah. Going through the fire, like I said, is burning away anything that interferes with love. And also, during that time, you will see all of the ways that you didn't get things right. And you will see, if you hurt someone, if you've wrong someone, you will see things from their point of view also. So, you see it all. You have a full consciousness on the other side. You're able to look into and see into the depths of people's hearts, their motives, their intentions, and nothing about yourself is hidden from others. So, it's all just, it's vulnerability at its highest form. But as far as the timing of reincarnation, my grandmother has said that we should wait to reincarnate as a family unit again. So, we have like a soul group, people that we are connected to spiritually, and it's best to wait and reincarnate within that same soul group. And there's no set time frame. I guess it just fluctuates or depends on each soul group or family of people. But ultimately, you could, because you are free. We are free agents. You could decide to come back sooner than that, apart from your soul group. But it's definitely not something that we should do. There would be negative repercussions from doing that. In fact, children who remember their past lives have all of these really vivid memories. And oftentimes, they're really conflicted and grief-stricken because they miss certain family members, their parents, for instance, or siblings, things like that. It's because they have reincarnated too soon. And so, they have all of these fresh memories and their family that they have departed is still in the physical. So, they could even be looked up or verified. So, yes, when we don't wait, we come back in a way, in a context that would not best serve our purposes. Because it's a chance, reincarnation is a chance to do things again with the same people again. So, all of the ways that we play out our lives, it has cosmic implications. And the way we do anything is the way we do everything because we are the same person at our core. Our personality is the same with every reincarnation. And so, it's just a chance to love more deeply. And everything really that matters is it involves people. Our relationships are what ultimately matters. So, it's about maintaining those relationships, cultivating love and compassion with those same people. Okay. Okay. Is it possible that maybe your parents or children or aunts or uncles aren't in your same soul group? Yes, it's possible because reincarnation is a choice, according to my grandmother. And so, if, for instance, just say that my dad decided that he didn't want to reincarnate, but my mom and I do want to reincarnate, then I would obviously have a different father in that incarnation because if he's opting out, he's staying, you know, staying back, then that would change things a bit. Also, there is the possibility of a new soul. So, not everyone is reincarnated. There are some new souls sprinkled in amongst the mix. So, yeah. And also, you could flip gender roles in each incarnation. So, like, you know, if you're a husband in this real, in this life, then in the next, you could maybe be the wife. And I know a lot of our audience loves that because these are the episodes they definitely tune into. Well, one thing is, you know, we've seen in social media has made it more popular, but even back in the day, you've had children who remember, you know what I mean, past lives and things like that. Is that a mess up? You know, because not everybody can remember past lives. Yeah, according to my grandmother, that happens when people reincarnate too soon and they come back with the memory still fresh. And so it really shouldn't happen, but it does sometimes happen. And she says they sometimes remember on accident. They never should remember, but it does happen. Okay. And so if we came back, like in a soul group together, we wouldn't remember our past lives. Right. Yeah, it's a fresh start. It's a clean slate. And so that's another thing. In some spiritual circles, you hear that reincarnation is kind of progressive or a progression of consciousness sort of like with every incarnation, we learn a little more until we finally arrive. But according to my grandmother, that's not the case at all. We could awaken at any moment, you know, within our first incarnation or our 500th. It's, you know, it really is just up to us when are we going to step off of the will of karma and awaken into our oneness, you know, to love others as ourselves, that's basically what it all boils down to. So but we could awaken it any moment. We need not continue to cycle through reincarnation to awaken. Okay. And I, you know, would you say it's harder in this day and age to find that than it was before with all the distractions and everything going on in today's world? Yeah, perhaps. But I would say that, you know, ultimately, it's usually, and we don't like to hear this, but it's usually suffering that brings us to our awakening point. You know, we have to exhaust the limits of our ego constructs, people who are doing really well, you know, in life and their ego is really winning, they're less likely to awaken because, you know, they're so immersed in all of the pleasures of the world, which, you know, it's that way by design. So yeah, it's just a matter of coming to the end of all of that, coming to the end of all of your ego striving and seeking for pleasure and seeing that it's empty. It's kind of like people, oftentimes people who do accomplish enough, they end up in the same place. Also, they realize that all of those accomplishments, they've gotten everything that they set out to achieve, they have achieved it, and then they see, ultimately, it's a climactic. It doesn't actually fill them up in any kind of substantial way. And so it's when we get to that point, you know, that we are able to transcend, transcend that dualistic mind that we are so addicted to. So that really is usually it's through the door of suffering, but it need not be. I mean, we could really awaken it any moment. Okay. This awakening that you're talking about, is it spiritual? Is it an aha moment? Is it just, I know now what I'm supposed to do? Yeah, I would say it is spiritual, although, you know, some people may have an aversion to that word, but in my belief, everything is spiritual, whether we acknowledge it as such or not. I mean, we are spiritual beings and, you know, having a physical experience. So, yeah, it's just about waking up and realizing that all of these things that are passing away, all of these transitory elements in this world around us, it's not that we don't enjoy them, but we enjoy them in their proper context. We have a balance about it. So we get out of balance, we get addicted, we're addicted to our opinions, we're addicted to our thoughts, we're addicted to people, substances in some cases. I mean, you know, obviously, like a drug or an alcohol addiction would really be, you know, obvious. People aren't so tuned into the fact that we are addicted to our personalities, our egos, and so, yeah, but it's all of that. If it was in its proper context, if we were to bring things into into proper balance, we could enjoy this world of form, this physical world that we find ourselves in, but also be aware that we are one with God and others. And so we would be able to do things from love, we would be able to respond rather than react in every situation. Wonderful. Let's get to the point of evil, you know, because this world has some evil things and this world has some, you know, real suffering and caused by others. In your opinion, did God create evil? So I would say that God is the creative source of all energy, and because God infused creation with free will, the potential for evil is inevitable. And that doesn't mean that God perpetuates evil, but that God created a free universe where good and evil are simply just two sides of the same coin. The duality of the human mind is the perpetrator of evil, in actuality. In the sooner we can come to terms with this fact of reality and forgive life for being as it is, the faster we evolve into those higher level of consciousness, where we can stop blaming the darkness and just simply bring the light. But there's only one consciousness within all of creation. In other words, we are all one with God, whether we realize it or not, but we have fallen asleep to our oneness and we bought into the illusion of separateness. So this illusion of separateness leads us into identification with form where all manner of distorted thinking arises. That's what I was saying earlier that sin is really just a fragmented way of being. It's not so much the bad things we do. The bad that we do just flows from this fragmented way of being. So our egoic thoughts generate a low vibration and he gives birth to destructive forces. Evil and suffering are perpetuated as people remain lost in the toxic loop of egoic thought. And they're completely identified with this 3D physical world around us. And so people often raise the question, why would a good God create a world where evil is even possible? But a world where nothing unfavorable could exist would cease to be good. There can be no such thing as good without bad, just like there's no light without darkness or no tall without short or inside apart from outside pendulum. As necessary aspects of one reality, and reality is a tension of opposites to eliminate aspects that we deem undesirable is to destroy reality itself. So God is not an outside agent looking in. God is not a being but being itself, I would say, the very ground of being. And many of us have that man in a way beard on a cloud view or image in our mind. And that from when you're young, it's drilled into your head, it's drilled into your head that it's almost blasphemous to say he's being but not a being. You know what I mean? And I just I really appreciate your story and the expertise that you have on the subject, because this is what this platform is for beyond the radar. I want to give people a chance to tell what has happened to them because look, this world is full of misdirection. They'll want you to look here and they're doing something over here. You know what I mean? That's what it is. And you know, it happens so often that it's just unfortunate. But with um, it is you're right, it's the universal spiritual cosmic law that you can't have one because let's put that theory into practice. If heaven exists as a place as it's described in other, you know, like a Bible and things like that, and you eliminate all evil from this realm, then why do you need heaven? Because you have everything you need right here in a physical form. But it's just, you know, as look, we're humans. We're on the third rock spinning in space. You know what I mean? We don't know any other civilizations, if there even is any. But we're so consumed with us. We are so consumed with us. And I like what you said about like addictions and things like that because that's an outside thing. Other people can tell. You know what I mean? You have symptoms of whatever. But now people are starting to pay attention to maybe like cell phones, but you're right. Your ego wants to be the first word out of your mind when something happens in a reactionary way. I'm not doing that because I think that I'm not doing that. I'm not doing this. I'm, you know, I fall victim to that, and I'm not going to pretend to be any better than anybody listening here. You know, I mean, I it's hard. It's hard to do that. I have gotten so much great advice from people like you about what this all means.
