Thank you for listening. We have an interview, very special interview. With the great ennius price, his lighting, gun violence in the streets, his lighting. Very hard for his own life. He became blind after being shot and he will tell his story in just a few moments. Thank you. So, we are going to have an interview with ennius price. We are going to get him on to the speaker. We are going to have him tell his story and his story is inspiring, empowering and overall it's very interesting to listen to. It's very sad but we want to have a conversation, maybe do some comedy and have some fun at the same time. We will see you guys in a minute with ennius price. Thank you. Okay, so we are here. We have an interview with ennius price and he was shot and he became blind. It's a very tragic story. I want him to articulate his story and tell the viewers what happened and how he became blind and how he survives with it and how he deals with it on a daily basis. So, ennius, I want to ask you, what happened when you became blind? How did you become blind? What happened? I was at the wrong place at the wrong time and they tried to rob me. Fortunately, as a man, we have our egos and I didn't, I refused and then shot me in my arm and then shot me in my head. But first day, they came up to me and they asked to give me everything and I told them that I wake up too hard and shot me in my arm and then the female, she started shooting and then the other individuals, they started shooting too. One of those third individuals shot me in my head and when I got shot in my arm, I tried to get away but I guess I crashed when they shot me in my head and I was basically gone on a steering wheel go. I guess there was a Boston day, he was just, I guess he was working on his car and I guess I came to him under, when I crashed, I came to him under his truck and it was crazy, they had to bring me back multiple times. So that's very, it's very common, it's unfortunately, it's very common where we live in New Mexico to be shot at the wrong time at the wrong place, wrong time. Hello, it's not really uncommon, I think it's real common because- No, oh shit, did I say it's uncommon? I meant it's very common. Yeah, I'm sorry, I didn't, I'm sorry I'm a little buzzed, I didn't mean to do that. So let me ask you this, when you went to the hospital and doctors like told your parents what like what percent of chance you had to live, what was that percentage like they said you have one person? Well, they got in, they put all my family in the room and they honestly told them that I wasn't gonna make it. And like this one doctor is crazy, it's just like this was really crazy, it was one of God's angel, you know what I mean? He was like, I'm gonna save you, I'm still gonna, I'm not gonna give up on your son and they told my parents and my family and because everybody else was like, well, there's nothing we can do, we did multiple like and we can't stop the bleeding, you know, so it was, it was crazy. So I was just like, they never just like that doctor was like, well, I'm gonna, I'm gonna do it, I can. And I was in the coma for a month and a half and when I was in that coma I woke up, I woke up and like I had to like really, like, like I didn't know from the TBI or traumatic brain injury. I didn't even know what was going on. The doctor came to me and he, and that he was like, Mr. Price, I'm sorry to break it to you, but you, you, unfortunately, you got, you, you suffered a bad injury, but a really bad injury with your arm and you also, you, how, you got shot in your head and what I like, like, I, when the doctor was telling me and stuff, I really, I couldn't say nothing because I was, I had nothing but tubes and everything on me. So like, like, like, whenever the doctor told me and then he, he also explained that I became vision impaired. And I was, I just, like, all I could do is just cry, to be honest, I, there's so much pain. It was like, I couldn't do nothing, you know, I was in the hospital bed. I was just like, like, hopeless, but I was just like, you know, like, like, just, just dead, like a vegetable world, like I was not even myself, you know what I mean? I didn't even know who my parents or my siblings was or my family like, it was, it was crazy. I had to regain and like, give my, like, some of my memory from the traumatic brain injury. So I'm also still working on giving some of my memory back. I can't, like, I can't imagine, like, how hard it is, like, just like, worm these up, because you said you have, like, a football scholarship, right? Like, like, I never, like, I never hadn't, like, any of that, like, I was born blind. But that's like, a lot of pain to go through, like, when you've had, like, when you have, like, prospects, when you're, like, expecting, like, you're gonna have, like, a really good life, you're gonna be, like, you're gonna be, honestly, like, if you go, like, into the NFL, like, if you're as good as, like, you, like, told me that you were, like, you could have gone to the NFL and made at least, like, $2 million, like, on your rookie contract, like, you could, you would have been rich, you'd have been able to take care of your family, like, it would have been awesome, but, that, that was, that opportunity, you know, that life was taking, taken away from you, and that's really fucking sad, like, for anyone here. Yeah, but, but, you know, but the good thing about it is, you know, I, I kept fighting, I, I had to re-walk, re-talk and all that, but like, it, it gave me hope that, that I, that I, that I had a, a second chance, so I, I'm there, I'm here, you know what I mean? So, I think the, the big biggest struggle about it was, like, like, uh, um, going through it by yourself, and, um, when, when, when, especially going to that school, that school, bro, that school, that, that school, I wish, that school, I wish, I could, oh, and, and even the commission for the blind, too, bro, like, you know what I mean? Did you, did you get the, did they send, did they send you a, a, a, what you want to call it? Did they call you for interview? Oh, no, they didn't. No, for the, about, about the commission. No, you know what, they called me when I was at the school there. Like, no, I'm talking about, because, like, they called me a couple days ago, I think, like, yeah, two days ago, and about, about the commission for the blind, they, they wanted to do an interview, because, because, like, they've been, they've been getting so bad, bad reviews and stuff, so, like, they want to see, so, and they, they, they called, they told me about it, and they, they selected me one, and I, I put a bat, the baddest review ever, bro, 'cause, like, no, I swear, 'cause I, like I said, that, you know, that they, they, they don't give, especially whenever we, they give up on us, they give up the, of, of with us, because whenever we turn 22, and when you pass 22, and, and, and, and up, and they, they give up on you when you, already in the adult program, when they're adult program, they don't give a fuck about you, they don't care about you, they don't, they're not there for you, none, because it's, that, that's why that, so, anyway, they were, they were just, just interviewing me about, like, just how they, how, how many, like, how, how, how would I rate it, and stuff like that, 'cause, like, I just, I just put, the only thing that, the good thing about it was the technology. Exactly. That's it. That's it. That's all I told him, bro, for, back to my store, bro, like, like I said, bro, it's just, it's just how you, how you want to make it, bro, 'cause you can give up and sit in that bed, and, and, and give up on hope, or you can keep going and know that there's a, another, another opportunity for you to, to, to live life, you know, live life, 'cause you still could do the same things. It's just the things that you can do is certain, is a different way. That's why I tell everybody, you could do, I could do, like, I tell everybody if that's blind or, or if they can have sight, they have sight, I tell them, I say, I could do what you can do. No, you know what I mean? The thing is, though, it's a little bit more, like, it's definitely more limited, like, as to what you could do, like, you know, honestly, my dream is to be, my dream, honestly, if I, if I wasn't blind, I would honestly want to be like a redneck truck driver, doing all kinds of drugs. Yeah. No, it's, no, I'm just joking. Yeah. No, but I think, I think, like, it's just how you want to, how you want to live your life, you know what I mean? To be honest, it's like if you want to give up, you can give up, but if you want to keep going, you can keep going, but that's your choice. And, and you have, you, you have to accept who you are as a person, because when you, when you don't accept it, it's, it hurts you even worse. But it really takes time, like, even if, like, it does, it does, bro, I barely, I barely, bro, bro, I, I'm, I barely accepted it, like, what, two years ago? Yeah, three years ago, I just accepted it, bro, because, and I'm, it's already, it's been six years, bro. Dude, like, when we were playing bingo the other day, we went to bingo, you picked us up. We went to bingo. And that was your, it was like last Wednesday or something like that. You said it was your sixth anniversary. Yeah. And you know, some people, and it's really toxic, honestly, some people say, you know, have you bought an anniversary or whatever? You know what I mean? And that's toxic, that's not happy, that's not, you don't know, it's not no, it's not no good anniversary, but it's just, well, well, well, see, look, think, think of it as this. Honestly, it is a, it is a way to celebrate, because I'm here, bro, I'm blessed. You think about how far you come? Yeah, that's, that's what I see it as. That makes sense, but it's like, it's still like a hard day, like, you think about, like, what happened? Like, you know, like, all about, like, like, the hard shit that you went through, like, you know what I mean? But you got to think, you got to always, you got to always defeat the, the bad, and, and, and put in the, the good, because you're here, bro, like, you know what I mean? You never, like, a lot of people, some people, like, bro, my, my little homeboy, like I said, bro, he got shot right in his fucking forehead, bro, and he didn't, he didn't make it. So, bro, I got shot in my head, and I got shot in my arm, and I'm here, bro, you know what I mean? You feel lucky about that, but it's like, it's still hard, but it's so hard, though, like, to sub, like, what happened to you? Yeah, of course it is, bro. Even after you accept it, even after you accept it, it's still hard, you know what I mean? You still got to think about it, yeah, of course, bro, you're not gonna ever not think about it, you know what I mean? So, Kristina. You're gonna think about it for a life. So, Kristina, what do you think about, like, your experiences, like, what, like, do you have anything to add? I'm not really, I think you guys are flowing pretty good. Yeah, but do you want relaxation? Do you want to talk a little bit about your story, like, and... Well, how are you, how are you accepting that? I know you're not accepting it now, but, like, are you, like, kind of getting, getting into it? I'm starting to accept it more and more. And when you, when you see that, there's more opportunities when you, when you stand up for yourself. And... Exactly. Just like, just knowing that, you know, you came so far and you still are here. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I try to see it as, like, we're here, bro, like... Exactly. What can we want? Like, what else can we want? You know what I mean? I know it sucks that we're blind. It really does. It does, yeah. Like, it, it, like, it does, it, it sucks so bad, bro. Like, but one thing about it, you can't do nothing about it. Right, like, I've been blind, I've been blind for 21 and a half years and still fucking hard to accept it. Mm-hmm. You know, you ain't never seen it. You never ever seen it. Right. You know, so you never really experienced, really, like, like, what, what, outside is, you know what I mean? Like, what to see, like, see light and dark and shit like that. Exactly. Like, I don't know what, like, in dark is, like, I don't know a black and yellow and white and, you know what I mean? I don't know what none of that shit is. Like, I don't know, like, even when people describe it to me, it doesn't, like, make sense. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. Because it's, you ain't never seen it. Right. It's just, it's just a, it's a pitch, pitch, pitch, pitch for you. It's not even black. It's just, like, nothing. How about you, Christina? Yeah, you're not, you don't, like, seeing nothing. Very good. How is it for you, Christina? I see, like, pixels and stuff, kind of, but it's like a weird pattern. Does it, does it, like, do you remember, memories, though? No, like, I constantly see them and, like, be able to fill the vision right now. It's kind of, like, a bunch of weird pixels floating around or something. I don't know how to explain it, really. But there's, like, a weird pattern that goes through my vision now. Did, like, does it disturb you? Yeah. No, like, what does it make you feel? Um, just like I can't see what's around me. But, but it bugs you. Of course, yeah. Yeah. I can see that. And, like, you say, sometimes, like, you see in your dreams, like, like, you're, like, you're afraid that, like, like, when you can't see in your dreams, it'll make you sad. Yeah. I try to visualize everything, still. I still have nightmares, but, like, it's, like, it's, like, crazy, bro. It's, like, I can see them. I can picture it, but, like, it's, like, just, like, I never could see myself. Right. So, it's, it's crazy. I don't know. It's, that's, it's, it's like, I don't know. And this is, it's a little crazy, but I can, I can, I can go live. It's a Christina. I honestly really want to know, like, what was it like, like, what, like, what was it like, like, before, like, before I met you, before I was, like, you know, you're a little bit, like, happier than you can see. I don't, before. No, no, not like that. Like, what was it like before, like, I met you when you were blind. Oh, yeah. Before you became, before you became blind. No, no, no, it's like, no, what, like, what was it like, before, like, when, when you were blind, like, when you were blind, before you all got together. Yeah, exactly. What was it like? It was a big struggle. I didn't feel like the commission helped me very much. Right. They don't, that's why, you know, but what y'all should do too, both of y'all, because I did it already. Y'all should put reviews, put some reviews, put them in there. How do you do it? Just, they, just, just when you go in there, uh, uh, uh, uh, website, you can, I don't review. If you can, yeah, the, yeah, I'd review, I'd review it. And then you could even go all the way to the board and put it in there. Oh, shit. But they, but they selected me, but I told them, I was like, yeah, I don't, I do not like how they treat, how they treat, uh, the other, other individuals and everything. And she was like, she's like, well, there's, there is a lot of other individuals that have told me the same thing. So you're not the only one. So I was like, I was just fighting a lot for his, I was like, yeah, you know what I mean? Cause they, they need to go down, fuck them. Yeah, they're, they're, they're using our money, and they're not giving- they're not you- they're not giving us our our mother fucking uh uh uh benefits because they get like the commission gets like ten million dollars- how millions of dollars- bro they just no bro they just fucking got got fifty fucking wait no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no they just got motherfucking uh they just got a- this is the big the rate is the highest that they've ever got and there is and things like fifty fifty six billion uh fifty six million um but they're not even giving us none of that and like look look i was on the i was on the interview with them bro when i was on the interview with them she she was i was like i was like they were supposed to they have like the knees uh gabby or none of them they haven't they they just whenever i turned toward to and everything um like like they're supposed to give me a job and i'm over here lost i'm still i'm struggling right now and i said i told him and i said i need a job and stuff and um like there's- i told him i that i wanted to i didn't want to be a part of they kept they kept introducing me trying to get and me to be a part of the BEP program and i was like no i don't want to be a part of that and she was like yeah of course i would i wouldn't want to be a part of either because i told her that i wanted to open my own business and she was like oh yeah well well well the uh commission has they they they have the funds to do it they do that they do stuff like that so so they're they're not they're not giving us our fucking benefits bro and i was she was telling me and i was like uh she said uh maybe hopefully hopefully somebody needs to help hopefully somebody to reach out to you uh ASAP yeah yeah yeah bro but i was uh that was a good house interview that i did bro for them that makes sense because you know who calls you uh yeah you can't remember i don't remember she's not from she's not she's she was just uh she was not even uh at she don't even work at the commission she was one of the like higher ups that motherfucking uh like that that like gets the real reports and motherfucking um to shut them down or to like see if they're doing their motherfucking jobs you know i mean that's what that's what you call me that makes sense yeah bro it was it was the higher higher up people but i was like hell yeah because i need to talk to them i've been i said i said they haven't been helping me for they like the only thing that i i would say that they helped me and was a good thing was the was the motherfucking the the the technology that's exactly what i told her and everything i was that makes sense bro and honestly i believe that you're a very good representative of the blind community because you know yeah that's why i say i want i want to be on the board bro i do even if bro even if you're like because you were at the school for the blind like you were standing up for like the uh yes like you were standing up when they're going in one running in the store rooms and sit yeah you're you were standing up for all of us bro and we appreciate that that school that school is worse than the commission bro i i fucked that school i would never fuck that school bro i could mean recommend that school i would never i i i I told them on twitter i told them on twitter i told them i told people like bro that school gave me like mental like like not night i guess nightmares bro like sometimes i have dreams like going back to that school i'm like oh damn bro i but i told that bitch uh patty uh the superintendent i told that bitch i said i said i see i see you on the board bitch she got she got mad she got hurt that when i told her that i said because because i told her because because she whenever we went to the fucking uh the uh remember uh when i told you where i went to the the the convention thing when they got her room and and got we had to have a suit and stuff like that oh yeah well yeah the the convention so uh um what's on call it uh well what what's on car senior and uh she was like hey oh hey mr. prize and and i was like oh hey because she she didn't even say shit at all and that was the whole the whole time like like that we would dare she didn't say shit and and all of a sudden uh i i forgot that i i forgot what i said but i said something about like the commission for the violin stuff like that and uh and she she she said something and she said oh hey me and i was like yeah i graduated i i'm in college um and i'm doing it i'm doing good and i said uh i said she said uh she said uh she said that's good i'm i'm glad but she was she was she should have seen the mother fucking like because i can i can't even see but i felt her mother fucking stink face and stink face like i'm telling you like like it was like she was like like wow they like she they thought i wasn't gonna make it you know what i mean i said and i got i said
