This is Texas Rangers radio broadcaster Jared Sandler and you're listening to 88.7 FM KTCU the choice Welcome to riff ram review your TCU sports sock home right here on 88.7 KTCU Hear your hosts Seth Doudle Ian the pation and Zion Trauma Hello everyone and welcome to episode 22 of riff ram review right here on 88.7 The choice your choice for college radio. I'm Zion Traumel and tonight I'm joined by Ian the patient and Seth Doudle gents. How are we doing today? Yeah, no today so far so far so good This is what our last episode until spring break hits for for the TCU academic calendar So yeah first last episode until we're back in just a couple of weeks But no so far so good that means that we have to do a 24-hour episode because we need to you know get ahead of it exactly and so what this episode will be folks is we're just going to be predicting the future to see what will happen in the week and a half we're gone Just kidding of course although that would actually be a fun segment that would be a fun segment But we're not doing that and then today's episode we're going to talk about TCU baseball Men's and women's basketball some NBA talk and a little fun segment here to round us out but We'll start things off with TCU baseball because they just continue to roll They are 12 and 0 on this season. They picked up five wins They played five games last week. They won all five of them They beat Washington state eight to seven and 12 innings in what was almost a five-hour game That was wild then they beat Arizona six to one And then the dramatics continued at globe life field where they beat USC nine to eight Arizona state 11 and nine and then USC again nine to five so There is so much this that happened last week but What were your guys's big takeaways after five and a week for TCU? Yeah, no, I mean coming into this week obviously for all of us we were all Perhaps just a little bit concerned with the fact that there is that back-to-back on the Tuesday and Wednesday Against Washington state and then Arizona and fortunately TCU got through there Just just a little bit, you know skates perhaps having to go into extra innings and eat up quite a few arms on that Tuesday night win in extra innings, but no, I mean TCU now 12 and 0 for the first time in program history I mean, that's that's one of the um that that's that's obviously just something crazy for for this program I'm I'm actually surprised it's never happened before 12 and 0 But no really happy that TCU got through this week this weekend series for the for the kaboda college classic Two games against USC in one game against asu it was a it was a bit like the cardiac frogs were alive again It was very scary and that some of those late innings early innings as well TC gave up quite a few runs eight runs given up on friday nine on saturday and then five on sunday But once again, I mean, I guess the biggest takeaway really is that look TCU one. They're 12 and 0 They're still fifth in the nation and the polls and um you just move on to this week. So yeah, they uh Take care of business, I guess but and they do so and they're nice little roundabout way Which I guess is their staple so far But the worry I guess would be that the luck would run out at some point because uh, they have gotten a little bit lucky at times So far this year, but they've also proven their resilience, which we've talked about many times We talked about that after the first weekend, and that is the case so far this weekend as well Because none of the wins maybe Spared the Arizona game where what I classify as dominant performances From the first the night inning none of them were you know all of them were pretty much Okay, lock-in boys. Uh, this might be a nail biter Yeah, it's so it's like where they had to like sit you know that meme where like the guy like sits up at the And like that's what tsu had to do in these late games. I mean it just While it's exciting and and it's it's truly impressive. I don't think I've ever seen this many Late-inning games that tsu's been able to win like consistently just from any college or professional team Uh, they already have what like three walk-off hits two two. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. Is it two? They have three walk-off wins two walk-off hits One of them was not a hit one of them was a stretch right in the first game of the year So this just you kind of just if that was an indication of what's to come? I mean, it's it's been pretty tremendous Um, but quickly I think we just need to give braid and Sloan Um some tremendous applause Uh for that performance against Arizona man. I mean again That was probably the one game where things looked pretty much in control for tsu six innings three hits and 13 strikeouts Uh, we're gonna talk about him a little more Uh later on in the show, but just wanted to give him some quick shout outs there Um, but yeah, the the bullpen was kind of a big story because they they gave up some leads there um What what what do you guys think went wrong what could be fixed? I mean In terms of I like I don't know if like okay, clearly things went wrong. Sorry I was gonna lead out by by sailing. I don't think a ton of things went wrong. No things did go wrong. Um, I think the biggest issue At least I want to say is against usc on On friday was when um Kirk charlotte was called to the bull pin for ben abell Ben abell had already pitched quite a bit In the week leading up to he pitched in the ucla series pitched on both Tuesday and wednesday against washington state and Arizona state respectively And so pitching in a three in in basically three of the previous four games You know someone like ben abell he he was a bit tired. He showed that he didn't really have his command Um on on that first side against washington state when he came in in the ninth inning Um, and I I think that that was that was definitely concerning seeing that but I I hope that's more I hope that's more on the side of of hey, look He's just pitched a lot and he's not losing confidence And I hope as a result of these tough performances ben abell does not lose confidence because I think he's still a really good pitcher But the last few games he's just shown a bit of You know struggle with that commands just struggling to pump strikes into the strike zone and then Again, I I think it's really just it goes back to starting pitching as well This weekend, you know paint and totally he he went a four He went four and a third gave up four hits and three runs he had four walks and eight strikeouts but it's again, it's those walks that are a big problem. It's those free passes that come around this score, you know, and This is now, you know week three of the season you want to start seeing your starters go deeper into innings You know zach Morris obviously is is the exception here because he took a liner off the face But for guys like colchlecker who who did pitch well, but especially paint and totally your friday starter You want to see him start to stretch out his starts more and more as the season progresses and Unfortunately three weeks and we haven't really seen that. Yeah, we're seeing a lot of early inning lightning from patent totally where he's just got his stuff and it seems to Kind of lose some of that flair pretty quickly We just haven't seen that longevity yet. So yeah, I mean the eight strikeouts is great But the four walks is a bit concerning Hopefully that's something that he can get worked out because tc's gonna really need him. Yeah and Kind of you know, you compare Up the other top four teams With tcu and you know, I saw a lot of discourse today. Hey, why didn't they move up? Uh, which I don't I don't think there's any problem with the top five or even the top 10 and the d1 baseball poll just Stayed completely put this week But if you look at the top four compared to tcu and you you look at their starting rotations a whole lot more consistency And a whole lot more dominance from those three guys on the weekend particularly arkansas arkansas has given up three runs in their last seven games Or something like that something ridiculous um Uh, and that's obviously, you know, just one of those four teams But if you if you were to compare the rotations for tcu with those four teams I bet you would probably get that those four teams probably have better and more consistent rotation so far this season And that's maybe part of the reason why there's hesitancy to move them up And they also haven't been as dominant as some of those other teams have been against Uh, some other teams particularly this weekend you compare tcu to how a and m did against the exact same competition And and blew those teams out of the water. Meanwhile tcu was struggling to beat usc in 12 innings Uh, so I think That's kind of one of the reasons why the but main main point for me there is was the the pitching rotations Have come around earlier for a lot of other teams while tcu's haven't matured as much so far Exactly and and again, it just goes back to that point of You know, it it really starts with your starting pitching if they can get off to a good start then and and your offense can jump out to a Solid enough lead then it makes it easier for your bullpen, but that's kind of one thing that i've noticed is that you know It's great that zachary koyer is four. No, it's great that he has four wins, but he's a reliever he I'm hoping as the season progresses he doesn't pick up more wins because that ultimately means he's coming into situations where Either tcu's down because we've given up runs or because our starters haven't gone far enough in games and um, you know, obviously it's not that that isn't consistent a hundred percent of the time that that ideology but It goes back to that idea that look tcu starters just have not gone as far as you would have hoped them to go um at this point in the season again, we're we're in week three of Of the t of the college baseball season and our starters are still kind of just touching You know this the start of the four if there may be the end of the third before having to get pulled and For pain totally, I guess for him. It seems like he struggles At you know once he gets that bottom of the order just the first time around it's not even the second or third time Through the order that he begins to struggle. It's it's pretty early on so Yeah, um and it seems like it's the same theme with col klecker being the one that kind of holds the rotation down even He hasn't had tremendous starts, but he's been probably the best starter out of out of the three He was really good against uh ASU going six innings three hits one earned run and six strikeouts. So That's some encouraging signs you like to see Um There was just a lot of different arms used this week. I mean gosh when we were we were watching the washington state game We all were texting each other like I don't know how kirk starless is going to get through this week with how many arms They had to use in that game and they did and so uh, you know, I guess Despite some of the struggles we saw from the bullpen to get five wins in a week is is tremendous and uh Really this offense is just a machine. It just will not go down Without a fight. Yeah, no matter who is in the lineup yesterday multiple Like key performers for tcu last year in this year. We're not playing some New faces made appearances and that the as you said the wheels just kept on turning the machine was able to continue doing what it's in all season Uh, even with patreon totally struggles offensively It doesn't it hasn't it hasn't mattered tcu is still putting up double digit runs Routinely and they also never quit because they can get really it's it is super demoralizing whenever you have a big lead And then you lose it Just like that like it's gone and then to come out the next things after that and then just be like, it's okay We'll just score like four more runs real fast and then we'll just win the game. Yeah. Yeah, it's right right right now for tcu It's it's all about just when when someone You know, it's it's when someone gets pulled from the lineup or is struggling the next guy steps up And it feels like that tcu tcu doesn't miss a beat right and and we'll kind of go into it um even more in depth just just to lay just a little later on but It feels like that no matter who you put it the plate right now They somehow find a way to get on base whether that's the hit drawing a walk just making enough contact To you know force an arrow There there's a lot of guys on this tcu team that are quick and if they just put it in play They force defensive guys to to rush in their transfer of the ground or whatnot to get to first base and Really, I think that's that's the biggest takeaway through these first few weeks for tcu's Just this offense seems unstoppable. Now. The biggest thing going forward after that is Eventually tcu's offense will hit a brick wall. They will and that's understandable. Hopefully not Everyone hits a brick wall at the same time but Slowly once you continue getting through the season into big 12 play which begins this friday away at kansas You know, you are probably going to hit some slumps some guys are just gonna Kind of hit some rough patches and then that's when you're going to need your pitching to really step up Um, but but so far right now I mean it's kind of like for tcu it feels like pitching doesn't really matter as long as we out score the other team We're playing then that's really all that we care about. Yeah, was there anyone from this tcu bullpen that you guys were Impressed with um at all this weekend or was it? Pretty, you know, we'll go with I got I got two dudes. Lewis Rodriguez has always impressed me I've always thought he's been a guy I wish that he didn't get hurt last year because I really think that if they just had an extra arm for that run They might have had a better shot. I don't know if they beat florida, but they were running on fumes in terms of arms Availability last year and then mason bigs be yesterday Comes in and is like hey guys by the way I throw 98 miles an hour and i'm only going to throw my fastball Yep, catch up to it and us he was like we can't and he was like that's cool with me bro And yeah, it was it was it was pretty electric stuff to I mean here's the thing I couldn't watch it if unless I wanted to pay 30 dollars. Uh, it's a flowbase ball. Yeah, thank you flow sports But I saw everyone that was there Say it was pretty cool. You saw the radar gun online Yeah, I saw people were saying it was pretty cool and I saw some clouds They saw they posted some clips on social media and then he looked really really well. They look really really good Uh heck of a way to make your debut. I'll just say that yeah, no mason bigs be really stood out again lewis rodriguez he's kind of been uh Just just a staple for this tsu team since he came to to tsu last year in his freshman season Another guy that stood out this weekend kind of had a bounce back performance was uh was the um junior transfer uh from houston kyle airs Um, he's had a rough start to his tsu Um career gave up two runs to florida gulf coast gave up one run against ucla And then three runs and just just a third of an inning against washington state on tuesday And then on friday against usc He just he he bounced back two innings gave up two hits no runs no walks had five strikeouts Um, he threw 39 pitches, uh and and he actually got the win on that day as well So um good to see him slowly settle in um, hopefully that performance on On friday against the trojans is perhaps a sign and uh a tail of things to come for kyle airs Because at this point, especially if if ben abel continues to struggle on the mound and in in his relief efforts then You want to have depth At that spot and obviously just like you said seth you've got lewis rodriguez there as well But it would never hurt to have someone else there and so far kyle airs is you know Looking like he could provide just some, you know, just a little extra depth there So yeah, those are the two guys that I was most impressed with and that sunday game. You got six innings Out of that, you know after zach morse had to leave Uh, you know, it was going to turn into a bullpen game. You got six innings the final six innings You didn't give up a run. You only gave up the only give up three hits overall so that that was really encouraging to see and Again, this this is going to take some time. Some pitchers are just more comfortable pitching in certain spots and kirk's going to Uh figure that out. I think there's There are some holes, but I do think the talent the arm talent is there It's uh, you just hope that sooner rather than later those things will get fixed but regardless guys tc 12 and oh, it's the best start in program history. This is a really really fun team to watch And uh, we're still going to keep this train rolling Uh, we're going to take a quick break and when we come back We're going to look ahead to the rest of uh, this week coming up against abling christian in kansas And some key players to look forward to uh coming up right here on rifram review The college of communication here at tcu offers the ever-growing and always-in-demand major of sports broadcasting Many ask what exactly is taught in the sports broadcasting major This popular field of study caters to us students that want to learn the skills to produce live and remote sporting events for both radio And television we acquire the skills to put together sports programming at the professional level And we then use this new expertise to produce games you can watch on espm plus or listen to right here on ktcu In addition to the hands-on experience We also develop analytical skills to discuss and understand the social and cultural roles that sports play in countries around the globe If you would like more information on a rewarding degree in sports broadcasting here at tcu Please visit ftdm dot tcu dot edu You're not wired to have a response to this sound you're neutral to it And you can hear it repeatedly without feeling anything But when we introduce a new stimulus save the food We've achieved pulling a natural or inborn response from you save the food Why are we doing this you may ask save the food because this ad is trying to change the world's behavior through brainwashing Because 40 percent of all food in the us never gets eaten save the food And that costs a family of four fifteen hundred dollars a year save the food to ting It's worse than in climate change through the release of methane gas save the food to ting And it's wasting precious natural resources like our fresh water save the food to ting So when you hear this sound don't be neutral rethink your behavior cook it store it share it just don't waste it For tips and recipes visit savethefood.com brought to you by nrdc and the ad council Today my new dad threw a barbecue today my new son and I threw a barbecue There were burgers and chicken. Department of health and human services adopt us kids and the ad council Welcome back to riffram review right here on 88.7 the choice your choice for college radio even a patient here alongside zion trammel and seft doutle As we continue our coverage and discussion about tsu baseball as they go to 12 and oh for the first time in program history big achievement for Frogball usa big achievement for kirk sarlos as now sitting at 12 and oh they look ahead to their game tomorrow night With first pitch at lupton at 6 p.m. Against abilene christian university the wildcats are coming into this game sitting at eight and five They're on a two-game losing streak after this weekend. They they lost the series to Texas a and m corpus christian they went on friday night 7 to 2 and then lost on saturday 6 to 1 and then lost on sunday 5 to 2 but they travel to Forward tomorrow to take on tsu who is whose offense is just right now on a high as we've talked about Um, but there's some things that we kind of want to discuss further as even though tsu is 12 and oh there are I don't want to say problems, but there's some things Perhaps on the horizon that may cause some issues going forward um, and we kind of want to talk through some of those kinks so Um, but but we'll keep it here real quick and talking talking about the game against abilene christian tomorrow the match-ups The supposed pitcher for tuesday was ben hampton. Unfortunately neck stiffness. It sounds like he's not going to be towing the rubber tomorrow um, which Probably leads us to believe it would have to be braid and slown who who had a who had a really nice start last week against Arizona one big 12 picture of the week. Um, what do you guys think about just just about brain and slown going back out there? Um, this would be his his first uh his first appearance since last week, so Yeah, maybe a good a pitcher to have as your tuesday starter given what he did last week against Arizona hopefully ben hampton can Uh, you know get back out there soon and it'd be interesting to see what what happens with that But yeah, I like the move to go with braid and slown He's just been tremendous for tsu and one of the few can really just consistent pitchers on this team right now Yeah, I love him. Yeah I think I think I think that this is uh We're gonna ride that ride that wave until you know, it crashes and hopefully it never crashes. Yeah, but uh, hopefully With smooth sailing throughout, but yeah, I think that I mean if he pitches well on tuesday And especially you know, we'll transition to the next week and we'll be here zach morris Probably is not going to start on sunday exactly if he has a big old whale tonner's left die Yeah, which by the way glad that he's like seems to be okay seems to be okay for now And that's that's what's important. I mean It looks like he just got out of that with a black eye and Some a little bit of blood and hopefully not a concussion of any sort he looked I mean He looked alert on the picture. Yeah in the picture that we saw again didn't watch the game Yeah, it was a 30-dollar paywall zach to see you get hit in a head. I'm sorry. I didn't see the I didn't see the hit uh, but I did see the picture That looked really I mean that is like as a pitcher is like your worst nightmare Like you just don't think about it. Yeah, a ball come You know, you it's like in the way back of your head like but you don't think about it each pitch Oh, man. That's who yeah, I was I was I saw the picture. Well, so Obviously this weekend with the game on flow sports, you know, I'm not paying 30 bucks Um, so I was keeping up with the stab broadcast. I said and I was like he went in inning and gave up two runs. I'm like dang Harsh. I'm like wow that was harsh. That was a harsh pull. Yeah, or maybe he got hurt or something You know like like that like you know with his arm or something you felt tightness or whatever And then I saw the the the picture later on in the game. I was like, oh shoot I'm like took a liner off the head, you know off off the eye, you know, and I mean, you know I'm I'm not trying to sound like I'm joking and having fun with this But I was I was just kind of like okay. That is the last thing I expected to see when I saw Zach Morris was taken out after an inning giving up two runs, you know Um, but yeah, and kind of just like Seth said, I guess Switching gears now looking ahead to this coming weekend with with big 12 plays starting when tc travels to Kansas Um to to take on the j hawks The the weekend rotation It might be It might be changing soon, especially with again Zach Morris probably being out for the next At least the next week, maybe two three weeks who knows Um, but I'm curious to hear what you guys think about this rotation and what what might happen to it Obviously right now pate and toll is still the friday night starter saturday's still cold klecker but now that um braidin sloane is pitching tomorrow and setter ben hampton Will we could could we see someone like ben hampton on the weekend? Could we after this we could we see someone like braidin sloane go go kind of be You know someone that gets into that weekend rotation if ben hampton can continue to stay healthy and just come back to tuesday What do you guys think about kind of the rotation going forward? I would do this if if you can if the bullpen can figure itself out and kind of not necessarily need braidin sloane then I would pitch him on on sunday and have haven't be your you know sunday starter and then you know you figure out tuesday with with ben hampton or whatever but I think if well, that's the thing if he starts on tuesday could he still then Come out of the bullpen on a saturday or sunday depending on how many pitches he throws Does he have enough rest to where that could be a possibility? But I think for now, I would just keep I would move him to the sunday spot personally I've already tested my my adoration for him. So I'd he loves him. I'd I'd pitch him on friday saturday and sunday That's good. You know, yeah sunday probably Would be you know, hey, I feel like this weekend would be a pretty good Measuring stick you're playing kansas is the first weekend kansas is not a powerhouse in this conference in vase paul by any means But they're also not, you know, the worst baseball team in the world. So you can go out there and And see what he's like a different waters Maybe some this is a different pressure than pitching it's arizona on wednesday night in a game where if you lose it It's not the biggest deal in the world. This is conference play. We'll see But obviously if he pitches tomorrow That kind of might throw a little wrinkle into that potential plant obviously tuesday to sunday should theoretically be enough Of arrest, but then you wouldn't be able to pitch him again On tuesday. Yeah, and and but that's the thing if ben hampton's healthy then you're good there Yeah, exactly, but you know, then then again, I mean this kind of where perhaps the conversation goes in circles is okay Well, if you put that ben hampton on sunday, can you please toss him on tuesday? So then we can have sloane on on the sunday, right? so I You know, obviously injuries suck, but ben hampton having neck stiffness right now is Probably the the biggest difference maker in in in preventing braid and sloane from just slotting in for next sunday against can't For for this coming sunday against can just maybe and who knows he might still do it. Anyway, exactly exactly He still might do it. Um and kind of going off of that. There's you know, some some interesting things that we saw Actually not watched but saw this weekend from from tcu. I saw it in the box score. Yeah. Yeah, we saw it in the box score so um over the last couple of games. I think the biggest Um the the the biggest missing player missing in action has been brody green Um, he's he's been out with an injury Um, not sure what that timetable is like we haven't heard anything about what sort of injury that is for brody green, but Uh, aside from that. I mean, he's he's really been leading this tcu team. He's leading the team an average I think he's batting 529 Um, he's off to a stellar start in 2024. So whatever's keeping him Um off the diamond, hopefully it's not too serious and doesn't keep him out for too long But that leads me to my next point that we can kind of talk about here is Last week on last week's show we talked about heading into the five game week for tcu We said, okay, where does righta robinson fit into this? Where does he where does righta robinson's puzzle piece kind of come back into play here? Where can starlo stick him in in the batting order? Maybe defensively and we saw We we saw righta robinson playing quite a bit this week. Um, I think he has he's on she's sitting on a five game hitting streak now Um, he's got to hit he got to hit on tuesday wednesday friday saturday sunday against all those pack 12 teams for that pack 12 gauntlet Um, but seeing righta robinson at third base really good to see him getting a feel at the plate He's batting 345 right now and uh seems like nobody can really stop him Yeah, we were kind of hoping that he would get his shot this week That's kind of what we were talking about is like you don't want to go too long without him getting another opportunity because Things can get in his head mentally on the defensive and offensive side wondering if he still can do it so i'm really glad that he got his chance and Again, baseball is a game of opportunities if somebody goes down you got to come in and and do your job and that's exactly what he did so I think I mean, it's it'll be an interesting thing once birdie green is healthy what they decide to do but I was very impressed with with righta robinson and glad that he got a shot and and took advantage of it Heck of a problem to have too. Yeah, it is with the With two dudes that you know you can plug and play there and that you know one might be better defensively But you can probably trust both their bats At this stage to do what you want them to do in the spot of the order that you're hitting them in And you know, we kind of we were that's zine mentioned it. We were last Monday we were like man Kind of you know, awesome for birdie green, but kind of sucks You know for rider that he kind of flamed out of that fast look at us Yeah manifest we manifest that we did we did he well He is we are the reason that he is you know fire Uh, but it was it was good to see and he I mean he just you could tell you those just looked and felt a whole lot more confident than he did Three weeks ago on that friday where you could tell he might have just been a little overwhelmed Overwhelmed about the whole proposition of like oh shoot This is by the way. This is d1 baseball and i'm playing third base on opening night for a top five team in the country Yeah, exactly, but then what's even crazier is like, okay, that's fine I'm just gonna go play in a major league ballpark real fast and and just ball out. It's like that's like not more pressure To me that that's like the dream, right? Yeah, and he goes out there and he just he kills it. Yeah, that was awesome No, and and especially with the fact that right of robinson's a switch hitter now We we've barely if if at all have seen him batting as right handed batter, but Having that switch hitting ability down in the order obviously helps. I think Um on sunday if i'm not mistaken the last three guys in the batting order were all switch hitters um, so I think that was a play there by by um by tcu trying to have you know have some interesting bats and and you know For for some situational matchups down at the bottom of the order But kind of moving on, you know keeping in mind right robinson. We also saw him play at short stop on sunday Uh tcu gave anthony sova a rest Um, that'll be kind of interesting to see if that was a rest day. Um anthony sova believe got hit by a pitch on saturday Um or or something happened, but they gave him a rest on sunday Um and with with with right of robinson going to play it short They brought in the freshman mike kendrick who looked really solid at third base made some really nice plays Um had to come in on a couple of soft slow grounders make some nice throws across the diamond to first base kind of off balanced Uh, yeah kendrick actually looked really decent for his first start at third base He came in to tcu as a short stop. He had never played third base before And then his first game as a tcu horn frog and in collegiate baseball Uh is at the hot corner in in globe life field um, but he looked good too and and it kind of Again brings me to this other point that I think you know, we can talk to you a little more is Look, it's really interesting seeing right of robinson get moved to short for the day And then seeing mike kendrick go at third base But outside of brody green who was injured this weekend and outside of right robinson who's blend playing short on sunday There's another third baseman that had played there before but wasn't playing there on sunday That was jack beseer and i'm kind of curious to hear your guys' thoughts on this and Because ultimately when you move raw when you move right or to short stop and then have kendrick get third it's kind of It's tcu's way of saying we don't really trust jack beseer at third base defensively Is is that kind of the field you're getting from from this type of move Yeah, I think it might be um, I If you're gonna put mike a kendrick there who that that was his first start, right? He hadn't yeah, he hadn't played this season. So Yeah, he definitely made some mistakes at third before and so yeah, I think that could be um saying something but if I mean, he's he's an option at dh if you know, it's something with patreon totally or you know If you want to keep him out of the lineup beseer can slot right in so Although there may not be a role for him in the infield there can certainly be a role for him with this bat Yeah, and he played left Like come in during the ucli series. So he can he's little over. He's versatile. Uh in that department Uh, it could be that it could also just be the plain fact that kirk wanted to give mike a kendrick a shot That's also a possibility and this is no indictment on jack beseer's abilities at all Certainly if we asked him that that's a question that might be the answer that he he would give Or some coach peek or whatever. Um So, you know, it could be either one of those things because it's certainly not the bat But we've seen him hit very very well And that's again. It's one of the same problem with rider and brody It's a good problem to have so many people that you could just put in the order and you know That they have the capability to hit well Because that not every team has that and this team seems to have an abundance of bats to just go in there and mash And what's going to happen is eventually and we've already kind of seen this cars and bone and anthia sylva have started this season off Uh, they've struggled offensively, uh, and you can just put Some dude some other dude in there And uh, and uh They're just going to hit well and it's it's it's good. It's it's a good problem to have yeah and and with with jack beseer, right? I mean the dude's hitting 357 right so so that bat needs to find its way into the lineup And just like you guys said he's played left field before he can come in for dh when when needed and especially Um lately with paint and totally whose I believe has the lowest batting average on the team at around 226 to 21 Somewhere around and in between there, but you know, I think jack beseer does still have a spot on this team Um, it just may not be a third base and and you know That's that's perfectly okay, but his bat does need to be in the lineup going forward And to your point this brings me kind of to my last kind of talking point Um, seth you said um, you said that Sarlos might have just been giving mike kendrick a chance On sunday, which I agree. I think he very well could have But mike kendrick was one of three players this weekend that lost their red shirt because once you play baseball In in the nc double life. There's no there's no going back and saying I want to red shirt this season and i'm i'm kind of curious to see The reasoning and and maybe this is just because because the coaching staff had to kind of reach deeper in their pockets For some guys on what was a very busy week, but tcu just basically Unredshirted essentially zak waddis Who came in as a pinch hitter mike kendrick who started at third base and then mason bixby who we've been we've already talked about who came in um for for just a brief relief outing, but You know, it's that I think it's the decision from sarlos to Take the red shirt away from mike kendrick and play him over Jack bessier who had already been playing third base. That's really interesting. Yeah, that is that is interesting and Obviously if if you're going to use it this early in the season There must be some Sort of role that they might have towards the end of the season. So that will be interesting to see if How that plays out Yeah, and sorry seth did did you want to say something? I got nothing. Oh, yeah, nothing. Sorry Um, but yeah, it's it's kind of with with those choices of bringing in certain players, you know, I mean Again, we we weren't able to watch the game because of the sub because of that subscription paywall, but um, definitely some interesting moves from tcu again and then you know you you see a guy like storm hair holes or Um who came in first time he's pitched since may 7th 2022 and you're kind of thinking to yourself Hmm Like you're kind of reaching deep in your pockets to go find a picture here You know and and again that kid that can kind of be you know Delt to the fact that look we've had this is our fifth game this week and we just need to We just need to you know, throw out some arms colt taylor had to pitch to the I mean storm storm Hair holes are and colt taylor were two guys. I did not expect to see this weekend Um, frankly, I didn't expect to I don't expect to see them much going forward Um, but I just think it's interesting this this series and this weekend tcu has been forced to kind of call upon some of Some of the guys perhaps at the back end of their death charts and and bring them in and again losing red shirts on those Three freshmen waddis kendrick and bixby is big news going forward and and seeing if they'll play more because I would imagine if you If you unred shirt these guys now You have no choice but to start playing them more because you're not just gonna play them for one game. Yeah, so let's see So yeah, really interesting stuff, but again Tcu 12 and 0 for the first time in program history big ups for frogball us say that will bring an end to our tcu baseball talk here tonight But when we come back, we've got some things to discuss with tcu men's basketball We're coming off of a really disappointing loss to the byu cougars We'll be right back here on riffram review on 88 points having the choice your choice for college radio Today my new dad and I shot off a rocket in the park today my new son and I failed to shoot off a rocket He knew exactly what to do I had no clue what I was doing. We set up the rocket. We set up the rocket Hit ignition hit ignition and then and then nothing Sometimes I laugh when I'm frustrated then out of nowhere The rocket launched into the air The rocket did get into the air. I've never seen anything fly so hot And then crashed into a kite And then the pond. I'll never forget that day. I'll never forget that day Even if I tried you don't have to be perfect to be a perfect parent Thousands of kids in foster care will take you just as you are for more information on how you can adopt visit adopt us kids dot org A public service announcement from the u.s. Department of health and human services adopt us kids and the ad council Welcome back everyone to riffram review right here on 88.7 k tcu The choice i'm seth tried alongside ean and zyan Has the tcu men's basketball team played this weekend. I don't know if you'll heard about that. Oh, they did Yeah, they did they played unfortunately they did play up in utah Yeah, they they uh, they played who oh man. What is that? What is that school man? It has an acronym of some sort, you know uib they play uib this weekend, okay? University uib this weekend tcu went up to provo after big monday Negled on monday last last last week and fell to both baylor and to byu this week. Oh in two week the dreaded Oh in two week. Yeah, that's what you can not do Guys that was you know how last monday. I said, oh, I hope we can look back and we can feel happy about the results Uh, I feel the exact opposite. I think What the tcu did was this That that about sums up what tcu did they stunk it up um god, you know and what's funny is Look, I I think i jinxed a certain player because in the baylor game. I was like, you know who i'm looking at i'm i'm going to be watching travion tennison he shot ovi Uh, i'm sorry tre. I I jinxed him. My man. Uh, I think we jinxed the entire team by hyping up big monday the way we were I know and then I wasn't watching the first half of this of the byu game. They're up by 17 I start watching and they give up 58 points in the second half. I mean I loved what byu is doing on offense. They were they were just They were they had some smooth operators On the on the offensive side. Yeah, no byu top three and scoring offense or obviously scoring offense. I'm so sorry I'm I don't know what i'm thinking about uh football scoring defenses and scoring offenses No, uh, but but byu is obviously one of the top top schools in the nation Uh for for scoring and they showed it against tcu Obviously down 46 to 29 at 17 point deficit quickly erased as byu then scored 58 points in the second uh second half uh Yeah, just I mean, I can only imagine like the differences between like jimmy dixon's half-time talk and then You know at the end of the game. I mean you're up by 17 against byu. You're like, all right Good job. This is this is exactly what we needed, you know Obviously, maybe a couple of things that you want to change and clean up to help yourselves out You're like, all right continue what you're doing What happens? Nope Give up 58 points. Yeah, you took the home crowd out of the game and then brought them right back in it And got out scored by 30 in the second half just frustrating frustrating inconsistency Is probably the One thing that I dislike most about sports seems Uh, if if that is a trait of a sports team is inconsistent. It's a red flag. Yeah, it's a big red flag It's it's like if their name is jake or something like that If we're consistently bad and we suck Then so be it. I I know what i'm in for I understand that we can blow a 17 point lead, but that's not what it what tcu typically does Um, you know, and then when tcu starts doing well, it's like, all right, you know, everyone gets excited gets excited and you know Right, and it just flutters out and so It's frustrating frustrating to see especially as we kind of hit the home stretch here in the in big 12 conference play tc Only has two games left. They play west, virginia on wednesday and then on on saturday against ucf here at home at the shoalmire But again, it's inconsistent inconsistency and I feel like that's kind of been what the whole talk has been about tcu this entire season Well, you know They're back on the little bubble. They're prancing around on that bubble again Uh It's not a fun place to be because you could go either way now at this point. Uh, they're gonna have to obviously When these next two games because these next two opponents are Pretty bottom of the barrel and in the conference. Uh, yep, so these are Games that if you win, you're not going to get a whole lot of you know bump in terms of Potential seating, but if you lose them you are sure as heck fallen far Uh, and so these become must-win games obviously and then the tournament Is obviously oh the the big 12 tournament. I should say is obviously it's it's it's a crapshoot of sorts Crazy things can happen and tcu hopes that crazy good things happen But we got to get there first with these next two games Zion I have an assignment for you real fast. Okay. Okay. So you jinxed back to scuba Yeah, yeah, I'm back you jinxed Trey last week choose someone choose someone That you think you know, we're gonna reverse jinx them. I'll say that Who do you think you know? Won't do good and then they might do good Okay, I got you Trevio tis No, he uh, yeah, I mean I'm gonna go. I'm gonna say Avery Anderson The wink wink you're gonna turn the ball over like eight times against west virginia shoot two for 11 and uh, yeah, it's just we're gonna come back in two weeks and I'm gonna be right because you're a quote-unquote not gonna play well Wink wink wink. Yeah. Wink cough cough. I got you Avery. I got you my man. Save a few trivia on thennison You're also just not gonna shoot the ball well Hopefully that works. Uh, if it doesn't we've done everything we can. Yeah, I mean, we're out of options at this But we got it us anymore. Yeah, we got it Yeah, we gotta do everything we can at that point. It's just the team's problem to deal with. Yeah, it has been our problem the entire time But we'll we'll we'll take the fall. Yeah Interesting though. I do want to talk to y'all a little bit about Where tcu is slated in the tournament right now if if at all depending on where you look It is pretty consensus that they are still a tournament team Right now some places i've seen have them in the first four which is uh Not fun. I don't the first four doesn't even feel like a real in c2 blade tournament basketball game Uh, and i've seen other places at like an eight or nine seed How far up in the seating do you think tcu can get at this point? I think tcu is an eight or nine Seed right now and the highest they can go is probably maybe maybe six if they win these next two and then Get like to the semi finals maybe in the big 12 tournament just depending on who you be. I don't know who they would be matched up against right now, but Uh, that's probably as high as I would go, but I would say eight or nine is and at that point It doesn't really matter too much. What seed? Yeah, i'm i'm no bracketologist So i'm not even going to say a seed but tcu has problems and they better for configs them That's all I can say. I mean there are so many issues in in consistency rebounding Poor shot shot make shot taking decisions not even shot making because we can't make a shot Um, I mean seriously, sorry. I don't mean to like go go all you know go go ham on tcu basketball But there's problems a couple weeks ago. We saw that tcu had five games left since nadi Baylor be why you west virginia ucf. We're like, all right Hopefully you only lose one of those right? I could understand baylor, but then the rest you wanted those are games that you probably want to and should very nearly win um, and You know again, I'm not trying to you know, crack down on byu and say that they're not a quality team because they are They have a wonderful offense a very non big 12 styled offense very perimeter very quick Just like tcu, but this was a game that tcu will want to have back and they they had it halfway through and gave it away So going forward tcu just needs to clean it up. Yeah, the discussion would be a lot different had they won that game because That's a tough place tough atmosphere to win in and they they could have had that and a dominant win would have kind of You would have forgotten what happened at baylor with the baylor game, but Now it just kind of stacks up a little bit. They've been without earnest due day Jamie dixon's been saying for a couple weeks now. It's just like up to him to when he wants to return Yeah, so I don't know what's going on with that You would hope that he can return this week and because he is very important to this team as far as rebounding goes Uh, especially on the offensive glass Uh, so hopefully he can come back. Yeah, it it kind of reminds me and not the situation of falling out from eddy lampkin But remember when eddy got hurt last season and then it was kind of like jamey was very kind of hands off of it He was like, hey, look, he's recovering. We don't really know exactly what's going on But you know, we we kind of want him to you know get back sooner rather than later, but we're gonna leave it Tim We don't want to push him Like I feel like that it's very it's oddly similar at least like the the verbiage that we're using to talk about uday And when his return is earnest uday is probably not like eddy lampkin and he's not going to cause a whole fuss Um, but I that just popped in my mind. That just kind of blew my mind because what i'm not going to say it is But yeah, that's it's just it's like same time You know same same position, you know Kind of getting hurt and very just like hey he'll come back and it's more It's it's not about the people and the politics and it's more about The waiting game. It's where we're just kind of waiting here Helplessly until we figure out okay. He's back. Is he back? Is he back? No, he's not okay So we have to play without him, you know, you know, it's kind of like we're just waiting here But yeah, I don't think he's gonna go out and do what eddy did though. No I think Jamie's gonna be ready for that scenario if it ever comes comes at him again Uh, all right, you know what we're done talking about tc bass ball. You know what we are gonna do? We're gonna talk about The brackets because the brackets. I have a question for you all about conference tournaments. Okay, when I say brackets because there are brackets so Do you all my first question is this you can answer yes or no, and then I will proceed As I go Conference tournaments thoughts feelings, you know, what do you feel? How do you feel about conference tournaments? Well, you were saying said that you enjoy the conference tournaments probably more than Than that actual tournament march madness. Yes. I I now that is not to say that I do not enjoy march madness. He doesn't Guys, that's exactly what he means. Yeah, he doesn't like it I so you know, have you all seen all that discourse about expanding the basketball like the We don't need to every team Play all 300 of them play in a conference tournament Except there's something, you know, some that don't qualify for the tournament, but for the most part 300 basketball teams come to a tournament and then if they win that tournament they get to play in the other tournament Yeah, pretty much like that's that's an expanded. That's as a span of the tournaments you can get That's pretty that's everybody. I like it I like it because of that because it it does give They started today like the america the atlantic The asan I don't read whatever started. I make something conference. Yeah. Yeah, they started the sun They start they started their conference they started their conference tournament today and in like nine and 14 kinesau state Is like all right here. We go boys. This is our shot. We're gonna if we win five games in a row We're going to the turn we're going dancing Uh, when you have no right to I think it's fun. I think it's a good time Uh, so I like them a lot and they also It lasts for like a week and a half and it's just like constant basketball. Yep. Yep And whereas march madness once you get toward the end, it's like it's like, okay, when is this game gonna happen? So we've been talking about this for a whole week now. Yeah, it's but with the conference tournaments like all right We're going into the championship game and we have like 20 Games that are playing today and they're all important because if they win They're in and I like that I like that aspect of it. Yeah. No, it definitely gives some some, you know lower ceded teams a chance as well Um, you know and and for tcu, I mean Hopefully we don't have we're hopefully tc doesn't get to that point and I don't think they will Of you know and having to win the conference tournament to get a bid into march madness But it's nice that it gives teams a chance to do it and also I think for a team like tcu It's positive because you can perhaps end the season on a bad note And then have that conference tournament and go on a bit of a run again. I've Gosh, I feel like I say this so many times. I feel like I've said it in like five straight episodes tcu basketball is such a streaky team When it's bad, it's bad, but when it's good, it's it's it's really good And tcu just needs a little spark here and there and if they get going and if that's at the the big 12 tournament Um You know in in that conference tournament then so be it because if we get hot then I would much rather, you know like those odds going into the going going into march madness after that They're hoping for to do what the baseball team did last year Yep, and that is just get hot right at the end and then ride the wave And that's what they're hoping to do in the conference tournament allows A lot of people to do that. Uh, you can point to Also the you could you can point to the moments in the conference tournaments And you can also point to the like the teams that make it to the tournament that had no right to that ended up having Um A good run of the tournament so it's it's I like it a lot Um, and it also gives my team a shot at hopefully some some redemption it's kind of like a It's almost like a like last final check of the season to make sure everyone like hey, are you good? Like if you're good like we're gonna like you can keep playing but if you're not good then like Just want to make sure yeah if if 25 games wasn't enough Yeah, we'll just have a couple Well, these we don't technically need the tournaments. They are for money. These are this is all for television money Broadcasting right here. Yeah, it's actually interesting the conferences get to pick how they Get how they allow automatic bids in the tournament. Oh really? Okay So it could just be the team that wins the regular season and that could be who gets the automatic bit of the tournament But they all pick the turn they all pick tournament sure But the easiest and probably the most the best way to do it would just be to say hey You won the conference in the regular season. You obviously deserve to go to the tournament with our bid uh in a perfect world. That's how it would be but Instead we get a week and a half or pretty much a month full of just constant brackets just pounded in our face for for Five weeks and that's I like that. I like that a lot Well, that'll do it for our men's basketball talk, but we're not done with basketball We've got two whole basketball segments left here on the show We'll be talking about tc women's basketball next and then the nba right after that You're listening to 88.7 ktc the choice in reframe review Have you noticed bad behavior has become normalized at inner scholastic athletic events Some fans seem angry They lack civility toward one another Some even get aggressive and unruly Time out What is going on? This has to stop Let's not forget school sports aren't just about winning And they're definitely not an excuse to take your frustrations out on the official or the opponent They're about teaching lessons like perseverance Respect and empathy So students can learn and grow as people not just as players We all have a role to play in setting a good example for our students and teaching them these important values So fans it's time to step up your game and behave positively at inner scholastic athletic events in texas This message presented by the uil and the texas high school athletic directors association Welcome back to reframe review right here on 88.7 the choice your choice for college radio In the patient here alongside zion trammel and set dattle as we continue our tcu basketball discussion We just finished talking about tcu man's basketball some conference tournaments and whatnot That should be coming up just in the few uh days coming Excuse me and uh, but but now we'll switch over to tcu women's basketball as the uh horn frogs are And right now obviously conference play six and 12 not really looking good, but tcu Just played west virginia number 24 west virginia on saturday They lost that one 57 to 49 ending their four game winning streak They beat since an adi b while you both of those away and then came back home and beat houston and texas tech And then once again traveled to number 24 west virginia up in morgan town and lost in the mountaineers on saturday But they have their next game. It's it's already decided. It's going to be on friday at 1 30 On march 8th against the oklahoma state cowgirls for the uh philip 66 big 12 championship conference tournament Um in kansas city mazuri. So, uh, the frogs will be heading over to mazuri for Uh, the conference tournament, but guys talk to me a little bit again. We've we've talked about the conference tournament for the men's team Um, what what does this mean for tcu women's basketball and what could this see them do if if they do well here They have a shot at doing Making making a miracle pretty much. That's what this this opportunity allows them to do if they I think that there are only chance of getting into the tournament as they win this whole damn thing Right. That's the only way Yeah, um, but they can certainly solidify themselves as like hey If we were healthy all year look what we could have done And that's what this is kind of like a thing. This is what and if those last four games weren't an inclination, right? Yeah, um But if they perform well The nit is calling and maybe a hosting spot at the in the nit as well. Yeah. No, I mean tcu really it's it's This is a this is a good chance for tcu I wouldn't say to get hot but to find their footing again after the loss and say all right We know we're probably not going to be in in the march madness tournament But this is still big in terms of hey, we can't skip a beat because we we have a very big shot at hosting Um at at hosting an nit game now tcu they're coming up against oklahoma state this week So they definitely have a chance against oklahoma state Um, I was talking to jeff william's just last week or the week before and um, he's been broadcast He he broadcasted for the tcu women's basketball team for the last 26 years and he was like look He's like this team most likely is not going to win the the big 12 conference tournament But nothing says that they can't win two games or so probably get at least past the first round Maybe past the second round and then establish themselves as host for the nit tournament And I think at this point anything that comes tcu's way that's positive is totally warranted after the crazy up and down Season tcu has had and fortunately for the frogs and head coach mark campbell. They've got their team back Sedona prince's back mattison conners back Um, and I mean this season tcu is 19 and two once Sedona prince plays So those are good signs going into post season basketball whether that be the conference tournament march madness or the nit Yeah, it's having her and and mattison connor available the last time tcu only played oklahoma state once this season They lost 67 to 59. They had mattison connor. They had jana no one's Uh, but uh, they didn't have Sedona prince mattison connor struggled She shot five of 18 and then so I I think they will win this game if i'm being completely honest I think they will uh the the the problem is though is if they win this game they have a match up with oklahoma Who's 15 and three in big 12 play 28 1 and 8 overall, but That loss against west virginia. It was a tough one. They turned the ball over a lot I think if they can limit that I really do think they could go up against any team and give them a really good shot Uh, because we've seen what Sedona prince is doing since she's returned for injury. I mean She went off Against texas tech 29 points 11 rebounds five blocks One miss shot and oh by the way, she knocked down two triples. So that is just a lethal lethal stat line But there is a lot of encouraging signs for this tcu team right now and man If you could beat oklahoma state and if you knock off oklahoma You know regardless if you do or you don't there's some really good signs going pointing in the right direction for tcu And i'll just say this about oh you tcu, you know obviously lost to them when they played them earlier in the year And that was in that time period where Sedona and madison were both out and they played him pretty hard And that was a norm. Yeah, and so obviously, you know, you can't use past performances Especially where the team wasn't even there to justify that result could change and obviously oklahoma is very very good Uh, but I wouldn't count them out in that game either And as you just said If they could and obviously the first hurdle is oklahoma state if you don't get over that hurdle Everything we say after that is is mutin void But uh, I I agree with y'all that I think they hate they can do it. They have a pretty good shot at it You know what an oklahoma state is oh and three on neutral sites and tcu's two and oh So if you're looking for any silver linings anything to look at neutral site, baby But you obviously have to be in front of neutral people. Yeah That's they imagine they put neutral fans. Yeah, fan like fan that do not associate with that team So you don't care how this game can just do not cheer or for anything. It's just Nothing Obviously, you got to beat oklahoma state first, but I feel really good about them beating the cowgirls it's uh, can they You know take down the beast in the in the sooners. Yeah. Yeah, really for this team It's it's kind of all right. Can you get some momentum going and then can you continue that momentum? Can you continue? You know, I mean, I say swinging the bat well, but you know for basketball and we're on great baseball minds Yeah, yeah, equate that into the the basketball You know mindset and frame of mind, but you know for this tcu team and again as we've said, you know tcu is streaky If if they get on a good role, I mean this team's got the culture They've got the experience too. I mean for that entire period of once the donut prince was out when madison konner was out They had to rely on some of their bench players to come up and step up Um, alia roberson had to step up uno yovanovitch stepped up big time sydney hares Last couple games has kind of struggled a little bit But she can even show that in certain games She's able to go and provide for this team in terms of points and things like that And if they're able to do that now with madison konner back and now with sadona prince back then You're you're kind of sitting here like all right. This is kind of a whole new team again, you know and and um It's it's it's it's going to be really interesting to see how tcu gets on when they play oklahoma state Um that game. Oh, sorry the conference tournament begins on thursday march 7th that game will be on Friday the 8th i believe with tip off at 1 30 and then um man That would just be awesome to see the frogs at the championship game on march 12th on thursday But uh big big biggest deal though. I think is that with that four game win streak They were able to not play on the first day that that is huge Yes, that is huge because now you don't have to win Yep as many games obviously and and in the conference tournaments one thing that's fun about them same with the men Uh men's conference tournaments is that for the most part you're playing on consecutive days And so if you make it to the championship game you've played for Depending on what your seed was at least five days in a row at that point, which you don't do in the regular season Yeah, no, that's that's huge. That's that's absolutely huge for them Yeah And so now the question is obviously can they do it and if they do do it Or when I say do it, I mean win a couple of games. I don't mean win the whole thing because that's um It's going to happen All right, uh, well, I mean if it if it does happen that is I mean we're getting a 30 for 30 about this basketball team if they win the conference tournament Yes, yeah, and I hope and I hope and I hope that we do because The tournament is a whole lot better than the n it but making the n it is just a whole It's it is such an accomplishment for this team was where this team was last year where this program has been is to just play A dang postseason game. Yeah And feel like you have a shot at it and if you can host it too I have a feeling and that people will come out and support no matter what It would be and it's fun. If if they could host one here Uh, I think people will come yeah and and kind of switching gears now obviously with the with post season basketball Basically being a sure thing for this tsu women's basketball team switching gears and kind of looking ahead Maybe it's a little too early, but um You know there there are going to be some interesting Uh advancements between this season and next season and you know for for that Kind of you know, it it felt like this season was a bit lost once conference play hit because of the injuries Well tsu got some big news over the last recent weeks of players coming back and um some players leaving but um two th two players will be leaving um this this team Uh heading into next year tarah manu mala una. That's how to say her name I checked and uh jade and oans will both be leaving tsu women's basketball after this season But coming back they've got agnes. I'm a no-poo madison connor una yovonovitch alia roberson, sydney harris and Sedona prince has got an eight-year of eligibility. So I hate yeah, this is her eighth year Oh, because this is her seventh right now Yeah, so she's a uti timeout timeout. She started college when I was starting high school I believe not the same for me, but yes for you. I believe so gosh. Hey. Yeah, so she requires Yeah texas 2018 So yeah, she played in 2018. Okay. Well, so she's probably a couple years older than me Yeah, yep, we you know what we're fine with it. Yeah. No, I'm super excited to have her back Isn't that crazy? Yeah, eight-year. I didn't expect her to I didn't even know she had an eight-year I thought this no matter what this was her last year Um of college basketball, but she's going back So and that's huge for this team to be able to be really successful in that next year is Not I mean and not even just Sedona prince, but just saying in general We're you're kind of expecting maybe that you would just have to What would life would look like without her? But now you do have her and you have Really all these players you just mentioned Ian. Those were all the biggest contributors of this team Uh this season. So yeah, look out. Yeah and and kind of On I guess off the back of that, right? You say all right. You're getting Sedona prince back You're getting uh Agnes iminope who back Madison Conner and then you know Una Yovanovitch Elia Roberson or Sidney Harris most likely I would imagine Elia Roberson's gonna be starting over Una Yovanovitch So say that you get those four players back those are those were mainly your four starters this year And now even though you lose jade no one's you bring in haly cavender who has had Who's been uber successful at Miami started off at Fresno State went to Miami for uh two seasons. I believe her a season there um one offensive player of the year Um in in the conference and then now she's going to be coming in next season. Basically you have Four of your five starters heading into this year back plus haly cavender who is an absolute score and I mean at that rate I was talking to jeff craig who who's the manger here at the radio station and he's like Teams will want you to get the ball to the Sedona prince because If and it like in the paint because if if she puts up a two then that's better than any of these other girls hitting a three because All of these girls can shoot. Yeah, so we've got some sharpshooters for sure Yeah, so so so definitely some interesting things with tc basketball and again I mean Think the fact that tc's gonna run it back with much of this same squad It kind of tells you look like hey, this will also be the second year Of these players playing together. It's not going to be the first year. We saw how how well the players came together in their first season Hopefully in their second season. It's it's it's even better. Yeah to build up a culture that's going to be successful. You kind of have to Keep a certain Amount of players obviously there's a ton of turnover in college sports But to be able to have that group back next season develop that chemistry mark camel is going to be Up and go in next season. Uh, there's a lot to be excited about but big 12 turny time can't wait Yeah, big 12 tournament starting on thursday march 7th that is uh this week And then with the championship being next tuesday march 12th tc Will be taking on the oklahoma state cowgirls with tip off at 1 30 p.m. On friday That's going to be in kansas city mazaria at the team mobile center that tsu against oklahoma state For the uh second round i should say of the uh big 12 conference tournament But when we come back we have got some more basketball to talk about nba this time as zine will take us through What's going on during the nba season some things as we get closer to play off basketball But stick right here you're listening to riff ram review on 88.7 the choice babe babe i'm right here Oh Hey, could you tie my right here on 88.7 the choice Zion Travel here with Ian Nipishin and Seth Dattle we're moving on from TCU where we've talked about them for four segments now now we're going to move on to professional sports with the MBA as we're going to first talk about a team that I have just been mind blown enamored by recently and that's the Boston Celtics because they are currently 48 and 12 in the eastern conference they've won 11 in a row they've only lost three home games all season long and you know they had a date with the Dallas Mavericks this week and I thought you know maybe the Mavericks could give them a you know a rough go at it no they just they blew them out then they beat the Mavericks 138 to 110 then they take on the Golden State Warriors who felt like they're starting to get their groove back you know they're playing good basketball and then they beat them 140 to 88 I mean it is unbelievable what Boston is doing they just are they going to is anyone going to beat the Celtics I don't know man I don't I don't think anyone will beat the Celtics for the rest of the year they might just they could win the next 22 games and I wouldn't be surprised I think that the Charlotte Hornets will beat him at some point oh boy if the if the 15 win Charlotte Hornets beat the Celtics that's how it goes though kind of you know you let your guard down and then La Melo well that is La Melo's not playing is he playing I don't think La Melo is playing and then he's on the Hornets I don't know Grant Williams yeah they're great yeah Grant Williams they got really he's on the Hornets now yeah the Mavs be of the Mavs be of the Celtics yeah so um no I don't know if the Celtics will play them but if they do watch out Boston you're in trouble I mean it's it's just insane because really I mean to be successful in the NBA you really need to like elite stars at the top of your you know team here with you look at the top teams and in both conferences with Milwaukee you've got Damon Janus with Cleveland you've got Evan Mobley and Donovan Mitchell with the West you know okay see you've got Shay and in chat so you really need like a couple guys at the top Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum have been tremendous but it's just how much depth they have they've got great guard play great defense from Drew Holliday Derek White Al Horford is still giving productive minutes Peyton Prichard had 19.6 rebounds and six assists I mean are we serious if y'all could tell me where he went to college I'll be very proud of y'all I have no idea what's his name again Prichard Peyton Prichard Peyton Prichard yeah they've got they've just they have so much depth and Ian Ian Ian you know what something about the green in the Celtics uniform is telling me Oregon oh is it yeah let me yeah right yeah let me look at that computer screen you got that yeah you cheated there buddy um yeah but it's it's really any it's it's up to I don't see how Boston can lose in a seven game series at this point if they're healthy they didn't even have poor zingas against the Warriors and they still blew them out so how old is Al Horford he's old I was gonna say man you can look that one up yeah he's he's old let's see let me think first um I think he's 37 wow he is what's birthday just guess June 3rd 86 wow you are just he's on a roll he was born in the DR really yeah I didn't know that seriously yeah I am looking at it yeah I believe you yes um anyways let's let's move on Seth we're gonna talk about the Dallas map we are we are we are and I would be kidding myself if I wasn't angry yeah I know it was a good one yeah yeah oh god yes they they won seven games in a row we're looking like one of the best teams in the NBA then they lose a game to the Pacers like okay and then they lose to a just the dumbest thing with Max Drew's hitting a full core yeah yeah okay yeah okay here we go here we go here we go that game that game shouldn't count a game shouldn't know shouldn't they should have won they should have won the game first of all and then and then um here's my here's my theory I have a theory about this game so obviously you know the Mavs take the lead with what it was like 2.5 seconds left yes right and the Cavs had no time out so they couldn't advance the ball uh and then you know it hits the half court shot I think it was like you know you know what people accused dude perfect of using a green screen and editing their videos to for trick shots yes I think that that is what happened in Cleveland and that did happen I think a little green screen man carried the ball into the because there's no way he made that frickin shot yeah there's an absolutely no way did you guys know it is the second longest game-winning game-winning buzzer beater in NBA history really extras his game-winner against the Dallas Mavericks Ian's watching it right now um mind you Ian he hit five threes in the quarter five of five yeah in a row just dang yes wow just disgusting work I was so sick and it was a nice shot too yeah like it wasn't just he heaved it oh and he got the net and there was some there was some defense on there too like yeah it wasn't like he was just unimpeded he got a big weight like hand wave right in front of him yeah he ripped the net nothing but net like not even off off glass just straight net Ripper are you kidding dang like why why did that have to happen to us and then you know it's like okay whatever that happens and then they beat Toronto and then they get their butts kicked by Boston but the really bad loss was yesterday against the 76ers and I'm I just I guess I'm just gonna have to live with watching inconsistent basketball on all my team it is your curse it is my curse um man I I mean Seth I guess I'll ask you this with the Mavericks um is there an expectation to win the first round and and make a good run in the second round or is that just being too like optimistic oh absolutely when you have a top five player in the league and then you have a top 15 dude right next to him the expectation is to go and play off games and right now obviously the west is tough I get it it's far and away a better conference in terms of overall depth in the east and it's it's tough right now where there are because they're only just a couple of games out of being what the five seed and if a couple things go their way to the five seed and right they're eight right now if I'm if I'm not mistaken they're eight yeah um but when you have Luca Donchich who is leading the league in scoring and you have Kyrie Irving right next to him and then your last I think in many defensive statistics and in the NBA uh it's just it's just so infuriating and then you're throwing out dudes like Tim Hardaway who are just having is it was becoming unplayable at this point uh and you yeah it's it's rough and and you know you know Jason Kidd just refuses to call a timeout when things are going bad yes he just refuses to do it because he thinks I think he I think he thinks that for the last game of the year he's going to have 40 timeouts because he stocked them up stockpiled yeah yeah it's it's tough it's it's because thanks for going so well Zahn do you remember just a few a few mere moments ago we were celebrating this team so much yeah I I think it's this team since the all-star break has kind of gotten exposed on defense PJ Washington is a pretty good one-on-one defender and and unfortunately he's kind of the only good one-on-one defender um this team struggles in his own defense um this team struggles in a man defense I mean it doesn't really matter I mean there's the the game against Philly uh some for some reason Kelly I mean Luca Donchich was guarding Kelly Ubray in the post and they had that on lock and Tobias Harris who had been shooting the ball well was wide open in the corner because Kyrie came to help for some reason and it left a wide open three and it just it summarizes this team and and their inability on defense I love Daniel Gafford he was a great addition he cannot play perimeter defense he just gets put on an island and whoever it's just isoball on him and it's game over um yeah and then like you said Tim Hardaway my goodness I mean I think we've been a little desensitized to his shot selection because it's just it's so bad I mean it's literally it's so normal for him to just pull up from 30 feet and try to make it when he hasn't made a shot all day yeah he's like this he's in his mind he's like this what this is gonna do it guys trust me trust me guys trust me yeah and it's just a situation where you have to like I think the coaching staff what they're saying is yeah he's just not hitting a shot he's cold right now we got to get him back you know into it and get him some better looks you have other options you can go to Jaden Hardy and they don't and that's really infuriating to me yeah yeah it's it's like the turnovers too for him what there was that serious the sequence against the Pacers where Ian I know you didn't watch the game but just imagine Avery Anderson and Baylor tossing it you know 40 feet into the Raptors after getting a steal very not the exact same scenario but very much like what just like what in your brain what did you just think to do that with the basketball those kinds of things okay and where everyone is just hands on their head like if any of the four other dudes had the basketball we would still have it right now yeah exactly but that's the thing though we you know I'm talking bad about the Mavericks right now and and they could obviously turn this around and and there are only a couple games out of avoiding the play in this team is deep it's just there's holes that weaknesses that really need to be addressed sooner rather than later but we saw what this team looks like when they are clicking and and the shots are falling it's really about the role players knocking down their open looks because we know Luke and Kyrie they can each drop 30 a night and you know you're going to get that's 60-65s even 70 points from two players right there so where you're going to get the extra 40 is to 45 points is really up in the air right now because there isn't anyone consistent on the outside of those two that can go out and get buckets on a night-to-night basis yeah it's it's it's uh it's tough but they're still in a decent spot yeah they're they're in a good spot and you nobody obviously wants to play Luke and Kyrie and I mean this west regardless of who you're play who you're playing you're gonna have a tough matchup and this will be interesting though because right now this is the play in it's the Suns the Mavericks the Warriors and the Lakers only two of those teams are going to make the playoffs so Kevin Durant and LeBron James they both could end up missing the playoffs well just center of the east have been they kind of be the seven eight seats in the east I know everything would be fine in the world yeah so you've got Kevin Durant Devin Booker Luca Kyrie Curry LeBron AD in the play in in the east you have the heat the Pacers the Bulls and the Hawks who don't have Trio so it's a pretty significant difference but wouldn't that be fun though Warriors Lakers back in in the in the play in the you know try and get in the playoffs yeah who'd give me a heart attack it would it would for me and I'm not even yeah y'all see LeBron hit 40k I did I did see that and it and I was just like well you know that's cool I guess it's like it's never been done well obviously because he's the scoring anything he does from now on it is right it is every point he scores yeah is the record they yeah that's the headline every Lakers game is LeBron sets new scoring record yeah he with it with too much could you imagine every headline after after a leak yeah LeBron sets new NBA scoring record now now sits at this is it ever gonna be touched I don't probably not well no definitely not now probably I don't know I don't think any I don't think players nowadays can even play nearly as long as he he has and I think that goes for a lot of sports to the longevity of sports now is at a very different level also because games games but whether it's baseball football basketball whatever games are you know the the sport has changed and evolved as well so now probably not honestly yeah I mean we also that about well I we I don't know people said that about Kareem's record for a long time yeah that's the thing too yeah people said that I mean I love I would love to see Kareem sign a one-year contract just coming yeah just hook shots yeah it's the day he dies he's just out there hey if he wants it bad enough he'll do it yeah I know right yeah he should you know what like uh like they send uh you know before Hank Aaron died I was like just send him out there for a season and see if he can get it back yeah man and it'd be and then like it feel like mega legit at that point yeah yeah like you deserve just put him in for every game against the A's and he's got a hey hey not this year he just plays a season full of games against the Rockies A's yeah no in course field just get a choice of course yeah just get him in course field yeah that's fine and all the pitchers agree they're like we're just gonna do softhouse yeah so Hank and I'm I do believe and this isn't anything against Albert Pujols because I think it's great that he got 700 but they're hap dude the amount of fastball is down in the middle I saw threatened Albert Pujols in his last season was very funny but I mean you still got to hit him yeah still got a hint I certainly wouldn't have been able to hit him I wouldn't have been able to hit him yeah it would have it yeah it did feel like there was some collusion yeah hey but you know what that's okay yeah it's okay um one last point about basketball moving away from baseball in a basket yeah sorry yeah yeah it's okay it's all we know yeah that's all we know that's what we care about uh for LeBron's record and I don't just for reference Luca is one of the premier scores in this league he's almost at 11,000 in his sixth season so he needs to get almost four times that amount and he's in he's finishing up year number six so yeah I don't think he's gonna play for 25 years that's the thing he's not gonna do like that's that's how hard it is to that's that was the point I was trying to make oh yeah that's how hard it is to to get to that if one of the best scores in the NBA is at 11,000 through six years which is insane but well yeah because uh he's had to one you know he's he's obviously good still but he's had to be a you have to be a serviceable basketball player to even like play that long yeah they have to they there has to be a reason for a team to be like right you're 38 we're gonna play you for 40 minutes and I yeah obviously LeBron is they're gonna let LeBron do that but there's is Luca when he's 38 gonna be I LeBron when he was 38 probably not I don't even know I mean he might still be in the league so I think he could get because he came in the league at 19 so yeah he might be able to I don't even know if you'll want to play 20 seasons in the NBA my guess is he gets to like 16 or 17 and then yeah call it a career as long as he's won an NBA title by then yeah you know kind of have like a dirk thing and hopefully win it with Dallas yeah hopefully across our fingers yeah maybe it'll happen this season who knows but it probably won't it'll probably be the Celtics yeah but we'll see and that is the moral of the segment who's going to beat the Celtics football it comes back to that it and like I said probably no one if they're fully healthy in a seven game series but we shall see anything can happen uh but we're gonna take a quick break and uh we're gonna get into our final segment after this uh just a little fun segment about stuff we're looking forward to in the sports world right here on riff ram important values so fans it's time to step up your game and behave positively at inner scholastic athletic events in texas this message presented by the ui l and the texas high school athletic directors association welcome back to river and review right here on 88.7 the choice your choice for college radio i mean the patient joined alongside zion trammell and seft dao doe as we move away from basketball which is taken up i believe a record what three segments of our show tonight um but no sweet we slowly move away from basketball and get into tonight's final segment of the show just going to be a very relaxed segment nothing specific that we're talking about not one sport but three sports a trio of sports as now this segment we're just going to talk about some some sports some events in the sports world that we are looking forward to um it's going to be outside of baseball outside of basketball outside of football um so yeah each of us has a sport and uh we're just going to say something we're excited about go into it a little bit you know they're they're niche sports making an appearance on on the on the show tonight but obviously big big sports once you hear them uh once once we talk about it so uh who wants to start first design or seft oh let's iron go first okay goes iron so yeah there's so much going on in the sports world you know there's this spring time is is an incredible time the sports world but you know i'm not going to go with the obvious march madness or match-mardness yeah basketball was eliminated from the list of possibilities about it so much uh it's not going to be opening day it's the masters um i grew up playing golf a lot and i i don't i will not say that i watch golf on a consistent basis but i will tune in every year from the masters there's something just so soothing about a spring day sitting back all day just to watch people play golf and Jim Nance commentating uh it's it's incredible um and and Augusta is just such a beautiful place and i would love to go one day and uh just the history about it and um the prestige it's just it's also so much fun to watch and i don't know actually i think it's April like 18th uh this year let me see the masters uh i just looked up 2024 the masters April 8th through April 14th it's even closer than you thought so i April you said April 8th through the 14th oh April 8th the 14th awesome so yeah i mean i can't wait uh we're about a month away from the masters last year john rom uh became the fourth Spaniard to win the masters pretty interesting and there had and what's so interesting about it is there really there hasn't been a repeat winner since 2001 and 2002 try to guess who won 2001 and 2002 it's a very notable golfer phil no tiger it was tiger i should have just said first yeah he i appreciate you going for someone other than the obvious answer though um he did win it and phil won it in 2004 2006 and probably a couple of the oh no just 2004 you know you're a legend when we refer to you by your first name only yes yeah exactly we're not talking talking about punk satani phil or doctor phil we are talking yes uh the ground dog wins his 50th masters yeah Phil's Phil Mickelson won one in 2010 and then uh didn't win one after that when did he retire do you know mikkelson i think he's he's still kicking oh he is still kicking oh you're tired no no he's live golfing it up right now oh oh yeah that's true he actually finished he tied for uh second last year in the in the masters he tied with i kid with brooks kepka yeah he had a run yeah he had a late run on day yeah so but it's john ron that won he went 12 under uh through the entire thing this year according to sports book review scottie sheffler uh who won two years ago has the highest odds to win the masters followed by rory mackerelay that's who i'm rooting for man oh man i have been a rory mackerelay fan uh i really just loved his game growing up and he came so like he almost had the most insane comeback uh two years ago uh like almost beating scottie sheffler in the masters but he didn't he deserves it at this point it's been a long time he has never done he's never won it he's probably one of the more uh what what's the word famous golfers to not win the masters yeah but like just i mean he's once he's won so much and do it's yeah he's do so hopefully he pulls through but i i also really like uh scottie sheffler he's from dfw so yeah that's right that's right um yeah um interesting fact about the masters guess guess what guess how many pairs of pants golfers bring to the masters how many oh two just in case they get a hole in one oh wow that and i thought we were bringing real fun facts i did i was like oh where are we going with this and you said two and i was like they totally bring more than two pants yeah there's four days i definitely did not just look up funny jokes about the masters golf tournament oh my goodness dude yeah i i think i think it's time for Rory to win though he's won the us open in 2011 he has 24 pga tour wins come on Rory bring it home here you go bring it home bring it home indeed he's um from island northern island northern very different it's different feisty yeah i know if you if you want to bet on tiger woods it's plus ten thousand odds for him well the the question is on the third day will he still be able to make it from hold a hole i know he he's he's he's struggling i still cannot believe he won in 2019 that is one of the most insane wins in any sport send his son out there he might have shot yeah he might dude dude was shooting he shot like an 80 what 80 something i saw no uh and it's like he's four i don't know i don't know he's he's not four but i was really like this kid's good it might be i was probably like 14 yeah yeah yeah yeah anyways i i've talked enough about about golf uh y'all know who i want to win we do and we will we will target woods what we'll we'll we'll route form as a collective show how about that yeah roy mackerel roy is our pick is our pick to win the masters yes don't take betting advice though from us because uh just saying i mean you can win very many people i love watching i love watching the masters but i don't watch the dollar on them on a consistent basis i play the video game don't watch it though on a consistent basis that's okay that's okay all right my turn all right i have two and one i'll speak about very briefly okay but then the other one i will talk about much more taking advantage of the uh of the segment yes i know i know cheater the first is the nhl playoffs which will begin at the end of april who very excited for that that was horrible i tried so hard mess up the first we were trying to do it again a little louder it would still then work uh i'm very excited for it uh obviously still a lot of regular season left to play it'll start around the same time as the NBA playoff so those kind of always go in tandem uh so it's always fun to watch both of those uh because they last so freaking long because it's just seven this it's all seven game series so it'll start at the end of april or um end of april and then it'll just be we won't end until june and it's dang oh wow into june yeah it's crazy go stars baby and it's a lot of it's a lot of fun when your team makes that long run it's like a month and a half long run of of hockey or same with the NBA it's like especially if they're they play six or seven game series all the entire time but yeah i'm looking forward to the nhl playoffs it's it's those games are always like if you want to introduce someone to hockey show them a playoff game or like a game seven of a series because the stakes are so high every goal means so much and it's just it's such a celebration for one team and it's just so deflating uh for the other one obviously goals are always deflating for if you give one up but in the playoffs it's just everything is just exasperated to a whole other level and it's just it's just so much fun it's so tense like it's it's this constant edge of your seat um watching so that's my first one okay the second one and you said no football but this is this is really count as football that's what i'm gonna say oh the united football league is making its first appearance on the scene whoa i know let's do it the xfl and the usfl have merged and have created this monstrosity that we will get on march 30th opening day i don't know what it's called opening day uh no way march 30th they're coinciding with like baseball's opening day two and you know where the first game is Choctaw stadium Arlington Texas the Dallas the Arlington renegades the reigning xfl champions started a run of Arlington championships in 2023 take that cherry another team in Arlington won a championship before you did and they play football and they will play the Birmingham stallions at noon on saturday march 30th do the rangers play that day i think they do probably hmm let's see you want to make a decision yeah who what will i go to what will i hang the championship banner first ever get the rain or hang the championship banner get the rain yeah which team that's so funny uh you know how i know this was happening though like it was coming up is because i follow the rock on instagram and he's kind of you know the mastermind ball behind all this and i just i'm constantly seeing he loves it if dwayne johnson can do one thing good is market his stuff he does such a good job i i got to give him credit so that's happening that is happening and i there's not really else there's not a lot else to know about it other than like football is happening and it will be on fox so fox and espn on saturday and sunday march 30th and march 31st yeah it's an 18 league um you can be excited about it you can like say this is how i'll probably watch i'll probably watch like the first weekend and then i'll forget it exists and then i'll look in like 10 weeks and there will be a champion crown it'll be like oh okay whatever look it's aj mccarron playing football oh okay that kind of thing but hey you're nothing wrong with aj mccarron no certainly not but he he uh is just the best player in the league the best quarterback in the league which is not saying a whole lot about the pet the talent in your league i'll just saying that if you're tapping out aj mccarron is uh like look we got a guy who played in the NFL yeah he was the backup to andy dalton i would love to see the running games play the cowboys that would be a massacre just say that their cow cowboys would be really upset after that yeah yeah they might be in show i think you could put like alabama against it ufl team in alabama would win possibly yeah yeah because most alabama football players aren't going to be you know yeah except for aj mccarron yeah except for aj mccarron actually yes that's so funny aj mccarron won a national title alabama is now the starting quarterback for the st. Louis battle ox so you know there you go it's all right yeah yeah it's all right Ian take us home f1 baby f1 came back this weekend had their first race week in bar reign over in uh in the middle east they move on to saudi arabia this weekend so should be fun um i don't know how big into f1 you guys are i know i've talked about it briefly in passing and whatnot but uh i i got really into f1 um back in i want to be like mayish april may early may and um i kind of caught like right i i caught the season right in the middle and then finished it out but now this is the first season that i'll get to watch from the start and i watched it on saturday max for sappin and uh redbull uh they went one two for sappin won the race uh Sergio Perez came in second they're both the redbull drivers and then i'm a big Ferrari guy um and Ferrari um their main driver uh charl leclair he did not do as as good as people hope this weekend he uh came in second sorry he started the race in second place after a good job in qualifying then finished the race in fourth but for i did finish with their two drivers as you know in third and fourth place so decent finishing with the two but just happy that f1's back um i i i've been uh i basically uh what's the word binge watched i binge watched all the uh drive to survive seasons um once i got into f1 really back in may and just started binge watching it and um the new season came out uh on netflix just about two weeks ago or so but no happy that the season's back looking forward to it even though redbull is probably going to win and max for sappin's going to win another uh world champion ship um i still think it's interesting i think racing is it's it's a very like refreshing sport that has nothing to do with like a ball you know so it's it's like it's a really you should put a ball at it though that would be interesting could you imagine it's like real life rocket league yeah oh that'd be cool max for sappin's not one of that yeah i just don't want to that one um but no it's it's fun i'm i'm really glad it's back they go to Saudi Arabia then a whole bunch of countries they go to australia japan china the u.s down in miami they go to italy monico canada spain austria england hungary belgium netherlands back to italy they go to asra bajan go to singapore come to the u.s again for the race in austin um go to mexico brazil back in the u.s once again for las vegas nice and then katar and uh abudabi and so yeah they have 24 races this year 24 races in 12 months so a lot of traveling for these guys and their uh and their respective teams but that's cool if if you're into like logistics and stuff like that there's like many there's a good youtube videos about like how these teams transport all their stuff yeah to the very it's because the schedule is not linear in terms of all right we're gonna start in the west and we're gonna make our way east no they're as you said he and they're like we're gonna be in singapore then we'll be in austin and then oh by the way then we'll be in beijing yeah we're going back to asia yeah it's like well this doesn't make that much sense yeah in travel yeah it's funny because the the f1 in in recent years they they decided they're like hey we're we're going green we're we're gonna you know and i'm just like okay i'm like yeah go green yeah go from austin to asra bajan back to las vegas the next week and then go back somewhere in the middle east or you were cluck you were there you were there you should have just gone here yeah i mean it makes total sense but you know i just think it's a funny uh you know PR play there yeah i wonder if because you said you you root for ferrari i wonder you know they should have adam driver in there because he played enzo ferrari in the movie ferrari so i think they should just he should just be there yeah and i think he'd do a great job i'm sure there's a day where uh where uh adam driver will be in the paddock that's enjoying enjoying the race that's where my level of knowledge gives with f1 i'm gonna i i really want to watch drive to survive yeah it looks it looks sick and and f1 does it's a good way to get into it if you're like not a big fan of actual car racing yeah like if you don't if you think that that's kind of boring it's a good like truncated way because it wanted focuses more on them as people yeah the personality so like the results of the race uh because i believe in the first season like lewis hamilton like crushed the competition there and he has not mentioned like at all yeah yeah that that first season it's it's they mainly focus on um hoss which is one of the lower level f1 teams and then slowly once it got more popular and f1 was like okay this is actually a legitimate show that we can make money on then we will start giving you the the the big guns in terms of hamilton for staphon and you know those guys and obviously mercedes and max for sappen aren't doing too well right now for sappen sorry sorry mercedes and lewis hamilton did i say for sappen it was kind of a weird controversy mercedes and uh lewis hamilton aren't doing too well right now but next year lewis hamilton will be joining ferrari so that'll be quite the advancement of having charlotte claire and lewis hamilton there carlos science has to find a new seat though for the 2026 season hence why he's racing very hard and will continue to race very hard this year he can sit right across from you and that's what he can he can he can race for me yes exactly start my brand we can make uh we can make a horn frog formula one team and a new car it's called cardboard well dinky doink you make it like a like a summer camp yeah i surely brown car so now i'm looking forward to f1 it's already underway unlike the uh unlike the other two events these two gentlemen other three events these two gentlemen have talked about but um but no well don't hey we're we'll we'll get on the cat we're gonna hey each day we can move closer to our event exactly exactly exactly so um but yeah no f1's back uh the masters is coming up very soon and NHL playoffs are coming soon and then last but not least football not the nfl but the ufl not free agency not the draft yeah aj mccaren a battle box exactly exactly well folks thank you so much for tuning in if you're tuning in live here on 88.7 the choice or you're catching us after the show
