I am Jeff, and welcome to History and Fact 2. It's about to dip is in and buy cool media. Today's September the 21st. Today is National Pecan Cookie Day. Pecan is an Alagompan word. It means a nut requiring a stone to crack. Yeah, that's legit. Now, we're talking about the nut. We're not talking about the cookies. You can have your Pecan cookie soft and chewy. They're really good, and they aren't that hard to bake, so you shouldn't have any trouble making them. Pecans are kind of healthy, so just grab some milk and grab some Pecan cookies and just have a great day. Alright, this is going on in entertainment on September the 21st. Let's back to your 1964 number one album was A Hard Day's Night by the Beatles. The animals had the number one song with The House of the Rising Sun. Jim Reeves had the number one country song with I guess I'm crazy. The number one book was The Spy Who Came In From The Cold by John LeCar. Top movie was Mary Poppins, and Nanny used his music and adventure to help two kids get closer to their death. Stars Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, and David Tomlinson. So it happened on September the 21st. During the American Revolution in 1780, American General Benedict Arnold, he met with British Major John Andre. A Benedict gave Andre the plans to the United States Army Fort West Point. Now, they've got discovered though, so Arnold, he was able to escape actually to the British side. Andre, he was caught by the Americans. He was later on. So here we are, over 240 years later Benedict Arnold is still synonymous with traitor. Virginia O'Hanlon, she was 8 years old, she asked her father if there really was a Santa Claus. He told her to write to New York, send newspapers, said they wouldn't know. So she did. Today in 1897, the editor Francis Church, he printed a response to her letter. Now, it's the most reprinted editorial in newspaper history. Now, he had a really eloquent opening response, and he gave that famous line, "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus." He then went on to talk about love, generosity, devotion, and life's beauty. Good thing his dad didn't, her dad didn't man up. Yeah, Francis says words, they were pretty good in legendary. Over in England, Stone Age, it may be the most famous, probably prehistoric monument in the world today. In 1915, they put it on sale at auction. Yeah, nobody wanted the damn thing. It wasn't good for farming and it was just kind of a waste of space. But old Cecil Chubby bought it. He paid 6,600 pounds for it. That'd be about $11,500 in the United States. Now, he bought it as a present for his wife. He was all impressed with himself for his love token to her. Well, she wasn't impressed at all. She wanted nothing to do with that thing. So, after three years, Cecil gave up trying to convince his wife that his gift was really cool. He just gave it to the British nations, and here you can have it as a gift. Today, over 6 million people every year go visit Stone Age. 1978, Monday night football debut. The Browns beat the Jets 31 to 21. 1981, please. It got its independence from Great Britain. Okay, let's burn on September the 21st. Rider H. G. Wells is born in Bromley, England in 1866. Now, along with Joseph Burns, considered the father of science fiction. Now, before any of this stuff was invented, Wells wrote about airplanes, tanks, nuclear bombs, and satellite. Also wrote about space travel, time travel, invisibility. Biggest books, The Time Machine, War of the Worlds, Island and Doctrine Room. Now, he married his cousin. Then he dumped her for one of his students. He was a professor. And they had two sons. Now, after his wife died, he had another son and another daughter. From two different women. Well, as he died in 1946, the 79 years old from an unknown cause. Animator Chuck Clark, he was born in Spokane, Washington in 1912. He won three Academy Awards. Now, he brought you Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Speedy Gonzalez, Roadrunner, Pippa Lipew, Porky is big. Yeah, and about 100 other characters too. He had one child from his first wife, married his second wife in 1981. He died in 2002 at 89 years old from heart failure. Okay, the theme song from My Dream Eugenie. Yeah, it's a lot better than the theme song from Alice. Actor Larry Hagman, he was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1931. First hit on TV's I Dream Eugenie. Then he had even bigger playing JR on Dallas. Now, his mom was a really famous actress. Her name is Mary Martin. Yeah, she was really big in the 1940s and 50s. Larry got married in 1954 and they had a son and a daughter. Then he had a liver transplant in 1995. Then Larry died from leukemia in 2012 at 81 years old. Author Stephen King, 77. Known as the King of Horror, his first book was Carrie. He got married in 1971 and they have one son and two daughters. Now every year, King, he donated $4 million to local libraries and fire departments in need upgrading. That's pretty cool. Actor Bill Murray, he was born in Evanston, Illinois in 1950. That makes him 74. Started out on Saturday Night Live from 1977 to 1980. Then he hit in the movies. First movie, that was Meatball. Then he was nominated for an Oscar for Lost in Translation. He had two sons from his first wife. Then he had four sons from his second wife. Actor comedian Dave Guillier, he was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1959, 65. Started out as a stand up comedian. Then he got known playing Joey on TV's Full House. Then he hosted America as funny as people. Now, he's probably the biggest success. I'm saying his voice work. He has done a lot of voice work over the years. He's pretty good at doing voices, I guess. He had one son from his first wife. He's been married to a second wife since 2014. Actor Rob Murrow, he was born in 1962 and knew Rachelle New York. He's 62. Biggest success for him was on TV. First Northern Exposure and then Numbers. Now, it's thought Northern Exposure was way overrated and Numbers was way underrated. Rob, he got married in 1998 and they have a daughter. Now, he and his wife, they were both born on September 21st and they got married on September 24th. So, that's a big day at the Murrow House. You better not screw that up. Wild One. Now, that was the first song Faith Hill ever released and it was also her first number one song. Faith, she's 57. She was born in Ridgeland, Mississippi in 1967. So, there were 50 million records, one five Grammy. Some of her other number one songs are Peace of My Heart and It Matters to Me, This Kiss, Breathe. That was an actress. She was in the movie The Stepford Wise. Now, she did a good job acting in that miniseries 1883. Faith's maiden name was Perry and she married Daniel Hill for six years. Then after they divorced, she kept his last name and then she married Tim McGraw in 1996 and they have three daughters. Luke Wilson. He's the guy you see on all those light beer commercials out right now. He's also an actor born in Dallas, Texas in 1971. He's 53. His older brother is actor Owen Wilson. Now, Luke, he's made over 80 movies. Some of them are blue streak, legally blonde, old school. That's probably his best one. He's also in vacancy and idiocracy. He says he's finally ready to start to settle down now that he's 53 and start a family. He just needs to find a woman. Now, this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turns upside down and I'd like to take a manager, sit right there. I'll tell you how it became the Prince of a town called Bel Air. Actor, TV host, Alfonso Ribeiro. He's also 53. He's one of Bronx, New York. Started out on TV Silver Spoons for three years. Then he played Carlton on Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Now, he is working, but he wasn't doing anything major than in 2014. He went dancing with the stars. Yeah, his career took off again. It's also in America's funniest video since 2015. Now he's actually co-hosting Dancing with the Stars. He had a daughter from his first wife, married his second wife in 2012, and they have three kids. And all the roles we have to walk are winding. And all the lights that lead us fair are blinding. There are many things that I would like to say to you, but I don't know how. Liam Gallagher. He was the lead singer and songwriter for the band Oasis. He and his brother, Noel, formed her way. So it's in 1991. And they call it quits in 2009. They sold over 75 million records, mostly in Europe. I know. Yeah, they're only hits over here were Wonderwall, Champagne, Supernova, and Lyft forever. Now, I don't know if the brothers need money or what, but after vowing to never play together again. Yeah, they just announced they're going on a reunion tour over there in Europe. Liam is 52. He's born a Manchester, England in 1972. He had a daughter from a fling. His first wife was actor is Patsy Kinzett, and they had a son. And he had two sons from his second wife, and then he had another daughter from another fling. Now, both those slings were while he was married. Hey, we'll be now staying where we'll go. I'll be your teacher. I'll show you the road. You'll see the side of love you never know. I can see it going down. It's going down to my head. I see you all over me. My head Jason Derulo, he's 35. Jason, he has a son from a former girlfriend. You know that? Let's go talk about Stoney and some more. Stoney, it's just a lot bigger than I ever thought it was. Stoney is actually 6,500 acres. That's seven and a half times bigger than New York, Central City, or Central Park. Well, thank you for listening today. Don't forget to follow us on every listen to us on come see us at coolmedia.com. That's cool, three of us. Let's end with actor Walter Brennan. He died today in 1974 to 80 years old.
