Juvenile petitions are being obtained for a student who made threats of mass violence toward Bethany Charter School. A text thread to seven students indicated they were going to shoot up the school. Officers from NC Department of Juvenile Justice are investigating. Also this week, Rockingham County Schools and Law Enforcement were made aware of other social media threats being shared and reposted. They were not directed toward any school in Rockingham County or any school elsewhere and are not credible. Students and parents are being urged to report, don't repost. And there's a scam circulating on the Rockingham County buy, sell, and trade page showing a picture of a man claiming to be homeless, asking for help, and attacking victims. It warns he's armed and dangerous. Similar scams are showing up on marketplace and missing person sites, only trust posts from local legitimate law enforcement agencies. Here's this week's arrest report from Eden Police Department, Lawrence Mitchell Smith, D.W.I. and Fleed to allude arrest, Dewey Andrew Roberts III and Matthew Colton Simpson, D.W.I., Timothy Thor Sorell interfering with emergency communications, simple assault, resist obstruct and delay, Pamela Roberts Price and Akisha Lynn Shelton, trespassing, Matt Dalton, shoplifting, Randy Craig Kinnett, misuse of 911 communications, Joshua Shane Church, defrauding an innkeeper, Cheryl Pulliam Farmer, simple assault, James Michael Fuller, Greensboro, cyberstocking. Rockingham County Sheriff's Office has issued arrest warrants for Gregory Keith Hirston, for violating the NC sex offender registry and failure to appear in court on a similar violation. He's actively attempting to allude arrest. Anyone with information on Gregory Keith Hirston is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers. The Rockingham County Fire Rescue Chiefs Council met last night, guests and fish and Neil Jakes thanked the group for participating in the county-wide food drive. Almost 48,000 pounds of food was collected last year. Leaks will spray elementary school collected over 1,000 pounds, plus other schools, fire stations, churches, businesses and organizations. The annual caroling for Kins will be Saturday, December 7th at 4, the exact location still to be announced.
