A Rockingham County Sheriff's deputy was on routine patrol Sunday around 3 a.m. and attempted to stop a vehicle with no tail lights on U.S. 158 near Jensieville Volunteer Fire Department. It fled with the deputy in pursuit at times reaching over 100 miles per hour. It stopped at Barn Street near Diesel Drive in Redesville but sped off when the deputy approached it on U.S. 29 South. Guilford County Sheriff's deputies responded. The driver attempted to cross into the opposite lane of Interstate 840 collided with rocks and fled on foot but was apprehended. Daniel Ryan Maranelli Vasquez, 38 from Greensboro, is in the Rockingham County Jail, charged with felony flee to allude, misdemeanor child abuse, and assault on a government official. One million dollar bond. A female passenger, Alexandria Hope Hughes from a claimsville, is charged with misdemeanor child abuse and were served outstanding warrants. She's in the Rockingham County Jail, $5,000 secured bond. A binder passenger was not injured and turned over to a family member. The vehicle involved. A 2017 Honda Ridge line was registered to a high-point man. Police found him dead at his residence and are investigating. Additional details on the man arrested following an apparent assassination attempt on Donald Trump over the weekend. Ryan Wesley Ruth lived most of his life in Greensboro. He attended NCAA and T University in the mid 1960s. Ruth was involved in a three-hour standoff with police about 20 years ago when he barricaded himself inside United Roofing Company on Lee Street where he worked with an automatic machine machine gun. According to a recent Facebook post, he has a connection to foreign soldiers and fought for several months in Ukraine. The bluegrass world is in shock following the unexpected death of David Davis. He led the Warrior River Boy since 1984. Davis died in a car wreck Sunday in Sneed, Alabama. He was 63. His wife Cindy was injured. The Warrior River Boys toured across the United States. Davis recorded a Charlie Pool tribute album, "Denny Ramble," six years ago. I'll be playing songs by the Warrior River Boys during Rocco Live in the morning between 11 and 12. In business news, Home Depot has agreed to pay two million dollars to settle a civil complaint. The company took part in false advertising and unfair competition. The lawsuit claims customers would take items to check out and prices would be higher than what was listed on the shelf. Recently, Home Depot paid one million dollars to settle another lawsuit regarding gift cards. When you have a plumbing emergency, you need it fixed now.
