and we'll see you in the next video. Alright, we got not one but two Monday night football games tonight. Jaguars visiting Josh Allen in the bills. That's at 7 15 Eastern on ESPN. The Jayden Daniels and the commanders visiting Joe Burrow and the Bengals at 80 Eastern on ABC and on ESPN Plus. You got some 0 and 2 teams playing tonight. You got Jacksonville is 0 and 2 Cincinnati is 0 and 2 And they the playoffs. So big games tonight. We're back. We're live from the sea port. We're brought to you by Chase Teddy is here today. Phenomenal D wood. Rex Ryan. We are jam pack. Put your feet up. We got a great hour coming away. It begins yesterday in big D. But I'm not sure what we have to rename it because there's no D at all. Lamar Jackson. We're looking to avoid and 0 and 3 start and they got to go in early. Teddy, how about Lamar? Taking it himself to the corner. This is the no D right here. This is on air. There is no resistance. Cornerback. Line backer. Defensive line. Nowhere. Well, it's the 7 nothing lead. It's 7 3 late in the first quarter. Rex. Where's the tackling? It wasn't there in Dallas. Certainly. Look at this. Are you kidding? This kid catches one ball which generally for season. And now he goes for about 80 yards. Nelson Aguilar. It's 56 yards to the 5 and then later in the drive. Of course. D wood. It's Derek Henry. They go that man. You don't want to be hitting that man right there. It's 14 or 3. And then Teddy why is Rashad Bateman this open? I can't explain it. This is terrible defense. 21 6 Ravens at the break and then avert your eyes. If you're squeamish, you don't want to see what happens to 21 on this. Oh, no. Oh, oh, and ice trainer. Oh, a neck and my back. Derek Henry had 25 carries for 151 yards. There he goes right up the middle. No one's getting off the block. It's 28 to 6. It's 28 6 to the score. But then the Ravens went into hibernation. Like they just stopped playing offense. They gave the Cowboys every opportunity to come back into their credit. They did. Here they come Teddy. Come on. They open had himself a big day. It's not over. It's 28 to 6. You got nine plus minutes left. You score here. You need a bonus play. I'm telling you these. This game isn't over. But it wasn't in the mindset of the Dallas Cowboys. They go for the two. They don't get it. So it's 28 12. Now, here's the bonus player talking about. They convert the onside kick defense or special teams. Give us one play and there's the one you need. We got a ball game. Absolutely do. They get the ball right back and Dak Prescott goes right back to work. He would throw for 379 yards. Cowboys driving few plays later. Jalen Tolbert. That's a tough. He's fighting that job. They fail for the two again. So it's 28 18. Raven's another three and out. They majored in that yesterday and then it's home to Whitby. Yeah. I mean doing this bill base imitation right here with that 40 jersey. I never heard of this guy. But there you go. Cowboys driving again. Kavat. They turpin will catch another touchdown and it's 28 25. So the Cowboys need one more stop. The Ravens just need one first down. Do you give it to Derek Henry? No. You give it to this guy. Great great. Finally ice the game. Cowboys come back. Fall short. Micah. Talk to me. Same thing. I think right now we got people just shot the Superman. He was just got one of the jobs, bro. We don't need everyone to be Superman. We don't need no Superman's at all. We just need a lot of guys playing together. How do you not get people to play Superman like you said or try to make a super throw in place? I have no idea. Like I'm gonna be real like like I said, like I really believe we're being tested. See what what is he talking about? First of all, I don't like that. I don't like what he said. Well, you haven't looked at the film. How do you know what the hell guys you know tomorrow? Guys being Superman and all that. You haven't looked at the film. You know what I mean? Like what? Like sure. Why don't you hold yourself accountable? Like damn, I need to play better. What the hell did you do? Okay? I mean, the whole defense got absolutely mad handle. What the hell did you do, Michael Parsons? Why you sitting there talking about, you know, other guys being Superman. Hell, last of my check, Superman could toss people off of him. I didn't see not one guy's cowboy defending Toss, a Buffalo Raven off of the line and off of them off of them. So like, Michael Parsons wanted to shut the hell up and get back to the film and see what's going on. I was wondering when you'd get there. I was wondering. I'm just sitting out of teammate right now. I'm just sitting there listening and I'm just like, why are you pointing the finger at somebody else? Because the bottom line, I'm with you. I'm with you because the bottom line is that was a three point game. And the defense did. Do they need some three and outs to get the back, the ball back? Yeah, they did that. So, but they needed one play in the end, which they couldn't. Micah is searching for some type of perfection that is unattainable. Okay, believe me, when you're trying to achieve perfection, I know it's unattainable. Okay. You just can't do it, especially in defensive football. There's going to be ebbs and flows of games. You're going to have quarters where you stink. You're going to have quarters where you play well. But the other team gets paid too. They have no concept of what next play is. Okay. That's the thing I'm trying to say here today is that if something happens that CD you drop a ball. Micah, they get a nine yard game. It's okay. It's second in one. Let's play that down. That's what I think Dallas doesn't understand. They're trying to win Super Bowls out there when it's week three. You're not winning the Super Bowl fellas. You could have came back in this game. And now you try to turn it around when that thank goodness that was fighting. I'm listening to Tom talk about it too. I'm thinking it. I'm thinking about it. Tom Brady's telling it on the podcast, the broadcast. I just want to see a little fight. One play. That's right. How come they don't know this? Just one play. You're talking about your players as if they have quit. Well, it did look like they quit when it was 28 to 6. And I didn't understand because 28 to 6 with 10 minutes left to go is an eternity of place. Yeah, I know it is. But I got to say something, man. The reason you see Micah parses like that, because he can't explain it. All right. He's a player. He can't explain why the hell we got the one to. We have the desire. You know, we want to be great. And why the hell are we playing like crap? How the hell can this happen back to back weeks in our own building? And part of it is what's the answer? Why? I think a lot of it has to do with coaching. Tell me because you're sitting back on one. What the hell? Where's your adjustments? You had all week and you're surprised that Derek Henry's going to run the ball down your throat with heavy personnel groupings. Like, no, I'm not. And I'm not. I'm not surprisingly, Marjax is going to run it down our throat, too. So to me, it's like, if we're going to stop something worse, damn sure stop in a run. Make him throw for 500 yards. I could care less. But you're taking an ass weapon back to back weeks. When you know what this team is built for, they're built to run it down your throat. And you took it and you take it. That's why the frustration is a player and all that. They don't want to say it. The guy's never going to say it to sell out his coach. I admire him for it. Yeah, I admire because it would have been easy to say. I don't know what the hell we brought this dude in for it. Like, come on, Zimmer, you're way better coach in this crap. Like, I know he is. He's a veteran coach. You know, hell, if it ain't going, if you can't play your base defense, run something else. And it just drives me crazy. Put the bull's eyes on the dang opponent. Don't put your guys got bull's eyes all over. They're coming off their double team and going to the backside linebacker. Nobody getting off a block because they're moving guys. I don't know. All right. I don't know what kind of tests they'll get. I mean, you said it's the Giants next in Thursday night in terms of running the football. It's certainly not going to be a running game like the Ravens or like the or like the Saints that they had a couple weeks ago. But this is the type of problem. Usually that doesn't get fixed within the year. It's very hard. It'll get fixed when you when you play different opponents. Sure. Sure. 'Cause they're not as good. But it doesn't get all the pressures on Dak Prescott. They need to score. I'm going to say this. And we all know this. And it feels a copycat copycat lead. It might not look the same. But may I point out the Giants ran the ball 32 times against the Cleveland Browns. You don't think they're going to run. They're not going to run the ball at this Dallas right. They're going to try it. It's going to happen. It's going to keep happening until the Dallas Cowboys solves the issue. And the reason and how they're built and how they're going to solve it is Dak and CD and that offense score 20 to 30. So they can start rushing the passer. So they can start getting leads. And that's why it's it's to the quarterback. You have to score because you know what you have on the other side. And Bo yelled at me the line on that game. I'm interested. I'm telling you right now. That's not an easy win. Four and a half. The Cowboys are four and a half point road favorite at the Giants. I'm telling you, if the Giants addressed a kicker two weeks ago, they would be two and one right now. They're not as bad as everyone has been making fun of them to be. That's not an easy stop at all for Dallas. Help me with Superman because I understand that has a different connotation in football. When I watch them play the last thing I think is boy, they look like Superman and literally you couldn't look further from Superman than they look on defense. But obviously that has a different connotation. What does he mean? What does the tape go? It means Superman in terms of being out of your gaps in all of that. I don't see someone trying to be Superman in. All I see is that they are not playing technique and they're getting their their butts handed to them on the line of scrimmage. I mean, what is it? There is a double team there. Now this right here. This is a blown. That's a bust. That's one of the worst words in football is a bust. Okay. This play here is a bust. That can be fixed. But this in terms of how it gets fixed gets fixed. I don't know because everyone along the line of scrimmage is manhandled and we talked about the defense of bats, but it's Derek Henry untouched to a corner to a safety and then another corner. That's what you're not looking for in terms of how you stop the run. Some time you got corners and and safeties. I've had them come back to the huddle saying fellas. I can't make this happen. I mean, what is that Superman? Everyone's glued to everyone. It's glued to the blocker. No one's able to get off the office line. That's not Superman. I wish everyone in America could have seen Rex Ryan's face watching those two play. You looked like you were going to throw up. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. What is you? What are you seeing? I'm so wrong. I'm so wrong. I'm back. I have no idea how to do that again if you can. And Rex, tell me what you're seeing. That's so wrong on those. Let's watch this short yardage when they they go to heavy personnel grouping. Yeah. All right. Right here. Watch the right inside back. By the way, defense of right. All right. So you see him. He buried himself inside. Who's responsible for that backside be got? That'd be you, home boy. What the hell are you doing? And so what happens? He's trying to get in there. Well, Derek Andrews is going to run right through the damn A gap, which was open to how about that? So now any you can look at him all. They have no idea how to keep. They have no idea how to keep that they're not attacking the line of scrimmage. Nobody's feeling as a linebacker. Nobody feels those offense alignment off of the double theme. Somebody's doing it. So they're fetching everything. And even I can see it gets extinct. The line of scrimmage is here when the play starts and then it's here like a second later. Anyone can see that. Attack in black and white terms. You watch it from the sideline view and you see the line of scrimmage get moved. Rex actually coming from the coach's perspective. Bad keys by the offense flowing to the left when it's a run to your outside right. Not playing backside. Not playing backside. That's the type of things when Derek can't expect back. I mean, that is coaching. That is the level of the player that you have at the linebacker level. That is overall improvement that has to have. You either coaching it or allowing it to happen. And I'll tell you what, when you got guys struggling, especially young backers or whatever, don't give them the choice. Send them. Do something where you attack the line of scrimmage. They're catching everything, bro. They're catching everything. Attack the damn line. That's not brilliant coaching. That's called common sense football. Yes. All right. When you got when you got line backers that are don't you're not keying them. Okay. I played with the late great Hall of Famer Junior say out. Okay. That guy was the one of the best that I ever watched. The best I ever played right up there. Ray Lewis Junior say out. I'm telling you sometimes we had to send him. We had to send him because he was so erratic. That was like junior a gap. Go. It'd be like, bro, cover my back. I'm going on. Yeah, you go. I mean, that's the way you do it sometime. Got it. What sometime? Bart, you know, we did a state. Bart's got go set the tempo, baby. Just run right through the damn thing. Yeah. And he would. And that now you got your other guy that's key and well and all that stuff can play, you know, can play off of the guy. But yeah, attack the line of scrimmage. They're not. They're not doing it. Yeah, they don't look like Superman. That's for sure. As we continue, sequan Barkley looked a little like Superman yesterday. And like Superman, he saved the day. Now the Eagles, big money back proved to be worth his weight in gold in a game they desperately needed plus Caleb struggling in Chicago. Have the expectations met reality for the Bears. We're talking about that in so much more on a football Monday. It's going to get up on ESPN. Passion drive and patience. We're back on get up. Maybe the best game in the early window yesterday. Derek Carr and the Saints who were the story of the NFL through two weeks taken on the Eagles who had been the story for all the wrong reasons. Here's an interception from Jalen Hertz, Teddy, you're telling me that's not his fault? No, I mean, Devante Smith should have rounded that off a little bit less in terms of the end cut. Jalen thought he would be there. I'm not going to put that on Jalen one way or another. It's a seventh straight regular season game with an interception, which is the longest active streak in the league. 14 seconds left in the half wrecks. They got very cute here and cost themselves three points. Yeah, no, come on, man. Where's that push push? I remember it's a given. It's an automatic. They fake push. They try and run it wide. They don't get it and they turn the ball over on downs. Now fourth quarter on second. If I say we did wrong, right? Thank goodness they have safe one, Barkley. He had 147 yards yesterday. This was a team that hadn't found a way to score. Now they get in the end zone. Now it's seven three. Then the game gets good. Two minutes to play. Derek Carr, Chris Olave, Rex. What do you notice on this play from Olave? Oh, beautiful toes. Beautiful toes right there. I'm a cool expert. That's a great job of getting those toes down. Anyone would know the New Orleans now leads at 12 seven. They go for the two and don't get it and suing Eagles. You're going to break this play down in a minute. Where's the defense? Well, I think they ran into each other, Grady, and there's no way in. That was on a third and 16 third. If it changes the whole game, we're going to show you that play in a minute. The meantime, it leads to this. Seguan takes it in for the go ahead touchdown. They go for the two and they get it. So the Eagles lead is three. And then Teddy, we need a big play from the defense to close it out and they get it. Pressure up the middle. Blankenship. Finish the deal right there. The Eagles defense really stepped up. Re-blankenship called game. And so the Eagles got it when they desperately needed after a week of all of the controversy. And again, Nick Sirianni talked afterwards, taking all everything on himself. We talked about that a lot in the first hour. Congratulations to him. You got to give credit where it's due. That team stayed together and fought on what was a tough week. Now, let's go to the play because we didn't get to this earlier here. Can we show Rex's tape on that third and 16? Third and 16. Dallas Goddard makes a huge play up the left side there. Rex, what name all the things that's the first off? What the hell are you doing playing man coverage, man free coverage? All right, 90% of league in this situation playing zone. This is the reason. And it starts if we can run it back again from the very beginning, please. We'll get it. All right. So to me, it's what? See, this is a short split. Some people call it a jelly split or whatever. You know he's crossing the football. If you're going to play, man, you got to play switch man. They don't do it here. They get naturally picked. The guys run into each other. And that's game. There's no way. No way in hell this happens. No way in hell. Yeah. But you did it like the call is ridiculous. You can't do it in that situation. But I'm going to tell you that play right there. Say the Eagle season, in my opinion, because it could easily gone. We saw this team internally robust, you know, last year. And all of a sudden you lose that one. You're one and two. Oh, but things are all, all, you know, great right now because you get the win. But great. No business. No business winning this linear space on a third and 16 in zone. What do you do? Our eyes are on the quarterback rally and make the time. You play deep to short you rally up and make the tackle and there's no, no, there's no possibility of traffic problems. No, not at all. Yeah. I mean, that's to me. That was a huge mistake. Huge mistake. Yes. That said, the Eagles defense. This we set this came up yesterday on Sunday and I thought count down as the worst matchup the Eagles could have their defense was getting no pressure on the quarterback at all. Derek Carr had been the least pressured quarterback in the league through two weeks. So that that Eagles defense was what was tested yesterday and they came up huge. You've got tape. That Eagles defense played a great game. You say everyone talk about when they're going up against the West Coast, Shanahan, McVace, setting the edge in the running game. They just got to set the edge. How do you set the edge and why do you set the edge setting the edge is preventing the extension of the sea gap. Okay. So let's see it. So how first here on this was the first play of the game. All right. Boom. Hands in the chest. The sea gap is stopped from extending right there. Line backers over the top. There's Nokobi Dean and you make the tackle. If then penetration inside. This is later on in the game. Sometimes a defense of lineman can set the edge with his penetration. He does it there. And then you see it right here. Zach Barnes. This is how you set an edge. All right. I think that's Murrow coming here and get some of this. This sea gap is going to sit right here and there's no way on fourth down that you're going to run it in this sea gap. No time to extend the play. Get downhill. It's easy. Right. It's easy to say. Set the edge. But you can tell Fangio and Siriani just banged it into their head all week. And you can see it on the very first play of the game. Yeah. And you're a big Fangio. Big Fangio is one of the best coordinators in the National Football League. And you know why? Because he can make adjustments. It's not just. Here's our defense and by God that's all we're going to play. And we can't stop a nose bleed. No, they were getting no pressure and getting nothing. You know what they did? They sent guys off the edges. And now their car is awful against pressure. We know that his stats say it. Analytics tells me him both tells me all the time. He's been kicking everybody's butt because he was the least pressured quarter back in the National Football League. Fangio is like, no, I'm not just going to sit back and play just basic foreman for us zone football. I'm not doing it. How about that? He goes when yesterday. Do you want huge? It's it because we know and rest you know this. You know Philadelphia. Think about that tell. Yeah, if the Eagles go out to him, lose this game. The temperature is going to get turned up. But it's the way in which they won that game because really, as much as we talk about you know, you could talk about Jalenhurst turn over. But it's the it's the it's the Philadelphia Eagles defense that came to play. They snout that you can use this game to catapult you to on to the rest of the seats. That game at Tampa is an interesting one coming up next weekend. Let's do Sunday's superlatives. Some of the best and worst moments of the weekend and D would. I'll start with you. What was the most impressive thing you saw yesterday? I'm on Malik neighborhood. This dude right here is going to be a problem. Okay. You talk about a guy. He was targeted 12 times had a couple touchdowns in this game. They don't have that many weapons. But this right, this guy right here is going to be a superstar in a national football league. He may already be. He is an early candidate for offensive rookie of the year. Teddy. What was the worst moment you saw? Let's go with Anthony Richardson because a lot of people are saying, what are we thinking here? He's throwing into a team meeting all right. Oh, if it's thrown even further, the corner's going to intercept that and that right there is a team meeting. I'm telling you right now, I don't think this was tipped. This is just a ball that came out of his hands. There's an interception it's like you're in the pit area inside the five better off. Maybe running that. This is bad ball right here. Bad ball. We appreciate the gift. Rex. What was your favorite moment of the day? Oh my goodness. Right here the old hook and ladder comes out with a new design and a little new ring for. Lips at the Gibbs. Like this is crazy. Look at this play. Look, he's in cover to he gets it back hard corner. Nobody's going to run that the hell they're not. It was a great play design. And Ben Johnson. I've never seen a hook and ladder this way. Done this way. Ben Johnson created this play got the coverage that they want. And I mean, every week, this guy amazed me. I love this this coordinator. And you know what Detroit Lions getting back. They're back. The Lions Roar. D'Oreal Harris to Tony Nathan once upon a time coming up Stafford Stuns San Francisco are the defending NFC champs on the ropes. This was an unbelievable game. If you didn't see it, we got all the pictures and then Caleb struggling in Chicago have expectations met reality for the fairs. You've got questions. We've got answers. Get up on ESPN back at the bottom of the hour. Once you get up presented by ESPN, bet the most entertaining game of the day yesterday from the NFC West. Matthew Stafford and the Rams brought Kurti on the 49ers. First quarter. Niners were up seven nothing. Joanne Jennings had a great month yesterday. What a performance he had making up for a lot of injuries for San Francisco. So they're up 14 nothing after one. Now D Wood, Kyrie Williams. Oh my gosh. Look at the flip right there. I would have broke every bone in my body. I got her watching it. Fourteen seven third quarter now same score. Third and fourth Jennings. This is a third touchdown. Are you right? Maybe we should try to cover that. Who was the last nine or receiver with three receiving touchdowns in a game? No, no, that's correct. Three yards. How about this? Oh, no, another one. Are we going to see this on Sunday and you got lost? Only one man. That's true. I just got a text. Yeah, Jennings on 11 catches 175 yards. Three touchdowns. Now here we go. Matt Stafford. No puka. No Cooper. No problem. We are a game inside the 10 a few plays later. It's Williams again. This is his third touchdown of the day. We're tied to 24 with a game. Ryan Rams get a stop. Four to five. 42 seconds left in regulation. Stafford for Colby Parkinson. The flags are coming out. Rex, is this a good call? Yes, it is. Absolutely. I can't recall it. Yeah, I was sitting around all that Rams in field goal range. Joshua Cardi. Yes. Oh, the way it's right. Right? You know, that brand. How did they win that game? 27 24. The Niners blow two 14 point leads. Oh, they're so banged up. Seattle's three and I don't want to hear. I don't want to hear. The Rams were banged up to. Yeah. You blew two double vision leads. Yes. Basically, that was a home game for the 49ers. Yeah. And you lost. There's prop. There's something going on there. I don't want to. I don't want to hear injuries. Everybody doing injuries. The rent half the Rams roster is on our base. And they and they found a way to come back and win that game. Let's talk about elite coaching. We did that earlier in the show. How about here? Because you got I mean, first it's Stafford Stafford. The guy has just got all of the guts all over the place. 2 2 at well comes up big Karen Williams, Xavier Smith on the punt return. How about that? That's when you know you got a team fellas. Defense making stops a quarterback. You've got punt returners making big plays to help you with complimentary football. Well coached all the way around. You know, my concern would be sometimes when you have these young coordinators on defense, you know, we'll just give the defense to somebody else that, you know, you used to do this. He's coaching out of a book, man. When you lack experience as a play caller, it makes a difference. And to me, this niner defense doesn't look anywhere close to what it's been in the past. And especially against, there's no receivers. Name and name 2 2 2. Who's the next guy? You know, crazy lakes hearse. They don't have nobody out there. So to me, it's like I was shocked. I got that one. The nighters didn't close it out. Look, the bottom line of is you see on the screen there, they still like our analytics still likes the 49ers to win the division. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that still very early in a season. It's such a week to week league. We react like crazy to the things that we see. The hurt guys, most of them are coming back. So are the 49ers still the team to beat in that division in your opinion, Teddy? Yes. Now, but they look, they're looking more like a team that have great players that can't put together great performances. All right, because what you had yesterday was a true divisional game. And when you're playing a team within your division, they don't care what the score is. They know you so well, they'll just grind all the way out until the end. Matthew Stafford, by the way, is so ridiculous. It's hard to believe. But let's run the hurry up on some of the games and let's stay in that division. The Seahawks are X. We just mentioned there three, you know, are you buying? Absolutely 100% on buying him. And why this man right here, Geno Smith has been on fire. And you know what? He's got weapons all over the place. D. K Medcat. When Tyler Lockett's your third receiver. That's pretty damn good. You'll have a panic. I didn't think you play with a backup running back. What's going to happen when the starter comes back? Like, I'm telling you, this team 100% for real and the changes they made on defense, Teddy, they actually are playing a scheme that's not outdated for 100 years. And we coach, of course, was the decorator in Baltimore. Let's talk about Kayla Williams, Teddy. Big numbers. Bears get a loss. Some great flashes there. What do you expect to see from Kayla here? You've got great, great support around you. But I mean, this guy is still doing things that he got away with in college, right? The two interceptions, this is a throw you don't make. I mean, you make that in college and you receive it, you can go up and you're in outclass, two DBs. Defenders are too good. Kayla, it's coming. I see it. I mean, there are flashes of brilliance with this kid. But then there's like, you can't get away with that anymore. And that's what he's learning. Translate? Like, he's still a rookie. I know we listen, we all off season leading up in the season. We all talked about, you know, the weapons he was surrounded by, the defense, how they played in the last year and then obviously the brilliance of Kayla Williams. Kayla Williams. He's still a rookie. He still has to go through a transition. We're seeing that from him right now. He would. I mean, 100% correct on that because this guy is a generational talent. I mean, that's why you let a Justin Fields go, who by the way is one also? Yeah, to get this guy. He's going to be great. There's no question about it. Absolutely no question. However, being a rookie, you're going to realize that, I mean, you have to throw people open, throw with anticipation. That guy is not open. And so, you know, don't force the damn issue. And he's throwing too many picks right now. But the kid has got so much ability. I can't wait to see him in a few years. It's going to be interesting to see if this season doesn't go well for this team, what they decide to do about the coach. Again, they left the coaching situation exactly where they'd left at the previous two young quarterbacks. They wound up making changes after their rookie years. We'll see if that's what happens. I obviously were a long way away. If I'm not mistaken, the Caleb Williams had the 11th biggest passing day in Bears history yesterday. Yeah, there's an indication of just all bad history has been there were the Decatur Staley's in the 1920s. And that was like that. Luckman came to a chum, said luck, man. Yeah, basically, the last great quarterback that they had. Okay, let's go to one more here. Andy Dalton, whoo, through for three touchdowns, Dean Wood, the Panthers look really good. What did that mean about Bryce Young? Let's see. Bryce Young was just, is it a bad? I'm not, I'm not one to throw in the towel on Bryce Young. Okay. I don't think this is an indictment on Bryce Young. Sometimes greenie, well, I call this situation when you give a kid some sugar and they get a sugar high. Right. You make a change at quarterback. You make a change at head coach. All of a sudden, it gives your team juice. And you go out there and they punch the Las Vegas Raiders in the mouth. Andy Dalton, look, great. He looked great yesterday. The question is going to be, is this sustainable? Can they do it over and over again? But for one day, for one game, it looked really good. When I'm in the locker room, I don't care about the development of a quarterback long term. All right. I just want to win a game, coach. And so, can Alice has got to get the rest of those players got to respect the decision that he made in terms of, okay, Bryce, you're out. I'm taking Andy in because we got to win somehow, some way it looked that bad. And I'm sure that those players, you saw him in the locker room after the game. Like, they were with him. They're with him almost thanking him for making that decision because it took guts and I got respect for him. It's a complicated situation because we all and I think everyone in the world was blasting the Panthers blasting the owner blasting the organization blasting the coach and everything else for and then all of a sudden, you do take the quarterback out, you put in Andy Dalton, who's a veteran and a, you know, a journeyman at this point in his career and they look that much better. It is a complicated thing to figure out. Yeah, I mean, you, you make a change at, at head coach because he's going to do, he's brought there to develop the young quarterback. Right. Well, and so that's an F. So I don't care that you, that you, you won a game against a team that was set to have a let down. Okay, let's see it moving forward. But to me, you failed on the number one reason you brought in this coach and that's to develop the young quarterback. Well, it was the F because I couldn't you just see this kid was struggling and start Andy Dalton and just let him wait, you know, from the, from the jump, you know, like the start of this year, not, not saying what the last regime did. Like, here I am. I think Bryce needs time. Andy should have been in there from the, from the jump. That's, you know what, but you're a part of this what? Bryce Young didn't even hardly play in the preseason. Didn't be one series. One series in the preseason. And then you go two bad games and then you yank them, right? That's why this whole thing is so befuddling to me. Yeah, play them the whole damn preseason and let them go. Like, if you're still not sure, but, but to me, look, there's some some questions there, but I ain't buying Carolina. No, no, I don't. I'm not trying to sell you, Carol. Oh, I'm not saying. I'm merely saying, does it make us think a certain way about Bryce Young when we see the change made and suddenly they look competitive? The first two weeks they didn't compete in their games. Let me leave that there for the minute because we have much more football to go. WNBA playoff started yesterday. We showed you the Indiana game with Caitlin Clark. Now let's show you Asia Wilson receiving her third league MVP award. Over the game begins. Aces in the storm. After struggling in the first half, Wilson will get it going in the second. She was one for eight to start, but now she gets hot to bring in her team back. Fourth quarter, Aces are up by one. Alicia Clark, no Wilson. Yes. She would finish with 21 points. Eight boards, five blocks. Aces is a three point lead and then pulling away. Chelsea Grey gets that to fall. Aces went at 78-67. Take a one nothing lead in that best of three. WNBA playoffs continue tomorrow at 730 Eastern coming back. The Cowboys, the dysfunction and the drama. Those are the only D they have right now because defense. They certainly don't. We'll talk about that and it's your favorite moment. It's himbo versus Rex. So Derek Henry scored his 96th and 97th career touchdowns yesterday. Who is the most recent player to cross the 100 career touchdown mark? The answer is next. All right, we're back on Get Up. This is an interesting one because usually I think you're going to get it wrong and then you get it right. Right. This one, I think you could get right if you really think about it, which maybe the announcer jinx. So Derek Henry Derek Henry scored two touchdowns yesterday. He scored 97 in his career. Who's the most recent player to reach the 100 touchdown threshold? And I'll mention quickly there have been 25 players in history. Yeah, I mean, that's no doubt where it is and the funny thing, like the first guy popped in my mind was John Riggan. So it's like, I know he did it, but then I'm like, you know, obviously more time ago. No, I know. And that's what I was saying. And I'm like, well, that can't be right. So the only name that I could come up with, which I feel confident about is Frank Gore. Oh my god, that's right. Frank Gore is right. I don't know. He said, hey, Frank, how are you doing, buddy? I just got you. Yes. Because you know what? And I'm trying to think of something. Yeah. I don't know. I got something for you. Yeah. Oh, buddy. I own you, my friend him. I own you. But you're going to give me. Who am I going to think of? Well, the other most recent ones were Larry Fitzgerald Antonio Gates and Adrian Peterson. That is a statement from Rex on a Monday. Let's do Sunday statements, which teams or players made statements yesterday. Teddy, I'll start with you. Give me your Sunday statement. Who did yesterday? To me, it's Justin Fields. He told everyone in Pittsburgh, this is my team. This is my offense. I can manage a game. I can run the football. I can deliver it accurately. And I can throw it versus the blitz. I mean, 21 to 23. QBR versus the blitz. 49.1. This year, it's 86.6. Improvement outstanding. Justin Fields, this is your team. Rex, who made a statement in your mind yesterday? Malik Willis, I've been telling you have been praising this guy forever. No, I haven't. I didn't think the kid could play. He's showing. He's proving me wrong. And I got to tell you something. His damn coach. I mean, this guy's amazing. The Maleflor is an amazing football coach. He's changed his entire offense and built it around a backup quarterback that is so hard to do. Nobody does it. This guy gets it done. And Malik Willis, I'll give it to you, my friend. You've been you've been doing a great job. Sensational, do you want your statement? I'm all Sam. I am Donald. Okay, with the Minnesota Vikings. You talk about a guy who's feeling it, who has the conference right now. Him boats hit me this. Like Sam Donald in the red zone has thrown six touchdowns to one in completion. Think about that. Crazy. One in completion. Six touchdowns to one in completion. That is just ridiculous. To do versus Aaron. That's right. Look, that man is balling. He gets credit and the coaching gets credit as well. For my Sunday statement, I'm going to take this one quite literally. Jerry Jones was asked after the game and you're going to hear it about his team not acquiring Derek Henry who trained in Texas during the offseason and made no secret of wanting to be a cowboy. Here's the statement that Jerry Jones made after the game. Watching Derek Henry do what he did. It didn't make you rethink your approach to the run game. We couldn't afford that. Why not? I don't know. Why can't you buy a mansion when you're living a different kind of house. We couldn't afford it. We can't make that all fit. That's as simple as that. And sorry, but with all due respect, sir, it is definitely not as simple as that. You come times you can't buy a mansion because you ran up a lot of credit card debt or something like that. You made bad financial decisions. And that's what his team and his leadership have done. Maybe if you would decided to treat the offseason like it began sometime before September 1st, you would have been able to make some of these moves. But when you wait on the CD Lamb deal until you're the last mover. Have you ever heard of the term first mover advantage? Well, they were the last mover when it came to the great receivers. And so it cost them way more than it otherwise would have. And they were the last mover. They literally signed their quarterback to the biggest contract of all time. An hour before the season began, they had no off season. So they got worse and more expensive, which is terrible management. So they could easily have afforded Derek Henry if they had taken care of their business when they should have. And instead, he ran all over their non-existent defense yesterday. That is the Sunday statement. Yeah, I know. Absolutely. And the thing is, we saw a great coaching job by Vic Fangio, veteran defensive coach, making an adjustment. Yeah. Zimmer, it's on you now. And it better show up on Thursday because quite honestly, I can't believe this is the product you put out there after you got your your complete butt kick the week before. And I mean, it makes no sense. So to me, it's like, wait the hell up. Their last three home games, they had a 16-game home winning streak. And then in their last three home games, including the playoff loss last year to Green Bay, they've allowed over 200 yards rushing per game. And they're giving up 7.7 yards per play. Teddy, you play defense. Right. Those numbers make you shudder. What do those numbers make you think? I do it. It's it's such a glaring problem that it's not going to go away. It's so bad. I don't think it goes away because you can fix it versus certain teams that don't have the offensive lines or the running schemes that the Saints and the Ravens have. I mean, but the Giants this Thursday, they'll also run it at you. Okay, they'll attempt it at least, but still it'll always end up coming back because you don't just bring in run stuffers from anywhere. Well, you know what I mean? Defensive tackles and new linebackers that could read and flow properly. So they've got a major problem. And by the way, do you want and the question on the screen? So they regret not signing Derek Henry. Have all of the focuses on the Cowboys defense because they've been so bad. So what has been buried underneath that is they themselves can't run the ball at all. So like to me, the answer should certainly be yes and they have other problems as well. What have you seen there? Yeah, absolutely. You know, the lecture you have with Derek Henry, right? Like you go out that you run him, you gain four, you gain five. There's nothing like there's nothing better than being a second and five. The whole playbook is actually disposal. It makes your quarterback's job a lot easier. It helps the defense because you able to continue to move the chain. So it has a trickle down effect when you don't have a ring game. Look, passing is down across the national football league. Scoring is down, but you know what's up? Running the damn football. Okay. And the fact that the Cowboys, Evan, did not address that. I think it's hurting this football team. So why, why the first game of the season, do we get a contract announcement and why couldn't it be done better? Why don't you know what your quarterback? It's Dak Prescott. Okay, I voted this guy third and I am my MVP voting. Okay, last year. That's how good this guy is. There's no doubt you want him. So to your point, why wasn't it done earlier and why was there any doubt that he if he was going to be your guy for the next five to 10 years? Yeah. You know, the thing about you mentioned running the football and things like that. The last two games, Dallas has only been out rushed by 345 yards. Two games, two games 345 yards. The horrible combination. No, they have absolutely no chance to win when you do that. Okay, we've got two, not one, but two, Monday night games tonight, which means we've got two helmets to smash. Welcome to the most dangerous section. Big man, tiny helmet. Oh, it hit me right in the chin. Oh, that hit me. I got hit again. Oh, sorry, smoke. We have the Jets at the 49ers. Oh, I think that might be my best. Once again, we got two games to smash tonight. Teddy, you have to put a legal does not have a sense of humor. You need to wear the goggles because otherwise someone could lose an eye. Okay, we got the guy. I usually don't like doing anything over my hair, but it's OK. You're a man after my honor. Okay, the jags at Bill's Buffalo with five and a half point home favorite tonight. He's going to smash the losing team. Oh, yeah, it's pretty bad. Wow, it really is. Why does Buffalo win? I don't think that's good. Buffalo's one of the best teams. Listen, you talk about running the football. Buffalo changed our identity. Actually goes back to last year with Joe Brady. It's up over his play caller, James Cook. It's playing light south football there at the running back spot. Buffalo. To me, they're one that's our teams in the league. I went Oppo because I always go Oppo if everyone else was on the other side. I also don't think Jacksonville is bad enough to fall at 0 and 3. I like that. I'm in a surprise. Okay, bangles, commanders, Cincinnati's is seven and a half point favorite. But you can put the picks up there, Cindy, once again, I went Oppo because I always go Oppo. That's what I don't believe at all. Teddy, did you do you want to smash one? Smash that one for me. I don't want to see you smash out. I don't go ahead. Oh, no, no, no, I'm taking off the bangles and we weren't really. But speaking of the bangles, Demar Chase sat down with our Ryan Clark this week talking about his contract, which is a huge storyline. Take a listen. You start this football season still playing on the same contract. What made you feel like that was the right decision? It's like a feeling, you know what I'm saying? And that was probably one of the biggest decisions of my life. You know, I made, you know. Do you want to retire a Cincinnati Bangles? That's a good question. Yes, it is. And that's our C's guy. I'm in the LSU connection there. You'll want to hear the entirety of that interview tonight on Monday night. Countdown leading into our top eight header tonight, beginning Cincinnati is the late game tonight on ABC. First take is coming up here. Don't miss Stephen A and Shannon and everybody with their reaction to the Cowboys. Lost and home against the Ravens. Spoiler alert. Stephen A is going to be funny. Don't miss it. We're smashing helmets. Go ahead. One more Teddy. One more. Go ahead. Hit it. Hit it real quick. I get him. I'm fired. All right. Get up is presented by ESPN bet. The official sports book of ESPN or Lofke is not here today, so we'll have Rex do the joke. Yes. What did the crab say to the lobster? What did the crab say to the lobster? Don't be shellfish. [LAUGHTER] First. No. [LAUGHTER] [BLANK_AUDIO]
