KELY 1230AM/98.5 FM News and Commentary

WhyRamsey

I get asked ALL the time why we have The Ramsey Show on in the evening.  I contend that the Ramsey Show is the MOST IMPORTANT SHOW we air on KELY.  Listen to this six-minute compilation of three calls and if, after hearing this, you don't agree, then go away. The Ramsey Show makes differences in lives.  Every day.  If you disagree, fine.  But you're stupid.

Have you heard about the 2018 study that showed half of prenatal vitamins tested had unacceptable levels of heavy metals? No. Well, now you have. I'm Kat, mother of three and founder of Ritual, the company making traceability the new standard in the supplement industry. I remember staring at my prenatal vitamins and finding all these things I was trying to avoid. High amounts of heavy metals, synthetic colorants, and unnecessary ingredients. So at four months pregnant, I quit my job and started ritual because I believe that all women deserve to know what they're putting in their bodies and why. I'm so proud of our prenatal vitamin. The ingredients are 100% traceable, it's third party tested for microbes and heavy metals, and recently received the purity award from the Clean Label Project. You see, we trace like a mother because, let's be honest, no one cares quite like a mother. But don't just take my word for it. Trace for yourself with 25% off at ritual.com/prinatal. I get asked frequently why Dave Ramsey is on, and this is particularly for one of our listeners named John. And John says the Ramsey show is boring. Others say the Ramsey show is mean, spirited, and it's not something that our youngsters should be exposed to. I want you to hear two clips from the Ramsey show and tell me how mean this man is. A moment with the Ramsey show. Chuck and Cindy are on the line. Cindy reached out and so did Chuck's hospice nurse as a hospice wish to do their debt-free scream, and that's how we got introduced to Chuck and Cindy. Cindy, let's start off with how much debt you've paid. We've paid off $120,000. We paid off our mortgage while Chuck was in Afghanistan. And Chuck was in Afghanistan with the military? He was. Thank you for your service, Chuck. We love you, we appreciate you. Now, tell us your story of how we get to this call today and what's been going on with you and Chuck. I'll try and do it without crying. Chuck was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer called a glioblastoma. And when he got sick, one of the things that I was so grateful for was that we were on the Ramsey plan because I didn't have a mortgage that I had to stress about paying off. We had no consumer debt. We had six months worth of expenses set aside. People often say, I don't want to work this get out of debt plan, I need to live my life because life's short. And yet you all sacrificed to be debt-free. Do you regret doing that instead of spending all that money doing something else? No, truly, if it hadn't been for the Ramsey program, I am not certain that we'd be OK. It has been the biggest gift through all of this. He just wanted to make sure I would be OK. Other than a broken heart, which I got with you. And I'm trying to get through this without crying, too. So oh, man. Well, Chuck, you're a hero, man. You served your country. You served your wife. We are honored to do a debt-free scream with you today. Incredible. All right, Cindy, you guys ready? Are you ready, Chuck? Yeah. OK. Chuck and Cindy, Raleigh, North Carolina. $120,000 paid off. House and everything. Count it down. Let's hear a debt-free scream. Three, two, one. We're debt-free. We're a little quiet. As it should be. [APPLAUSE] Woo! That's how it's done. Man. Whoo. Oh, man, oh, man, oh, man. This is the Ramsey Show. A moment with the Ramsey Show. I'm in a position where I'm thinking about selling my house. My son, father, and I live together, and it's not the best situation. I'm just really torn because I love my home and I love my neighborhood. You own it. Yeah. I can hear it. No, no, I can hear it in your voice. Yeah. Well, I'm trying to talk to you outside, and he's actually standing next to me because you can't go inside. You sound really afraid to me. When is he leaving? That's a great question. Do you have family in the area? I don't have my dad and brothers. You need to get in the car and go to your dad's house when you hang up the phone. I can't do that, sir. I've tried better. Do I need to call the police for you? No, sir. We've already got to do that. Where are you, Danielle? Are you outside your house right now? Where's your son? And his father's in front of my car. You need to-- when you hang up, you need to call the police, and you need to call your father. And you need to get you and your son away from the sky. You and your son are in danger. I want to fix it. That's why I want to sit at my home, and I just want to get in-- No, no, no, honey. We don't need to call a realtor. We need to get the boyfriend out of the house, and that's going to involve the police and/or your father and your brothers. He needs to leave. It's your house. And you're afraid. You're in-- [INAUDIBLE] You're in a horrible situation. The type of situation that you are in is that he has convinced you that you're not able to operate without him. And I'm convinced the only way you're ever going to be able to operate is without him. Listen, you are worth being OK. It's worth being OK for your kid. He's trespassing. We're going to remove the trespasser. You and the baby need to get out of there until he's gone, and then you need to get someone to remove him. Get a restraining order. You can do whatever you need to do at that point. But hey, we love you. You hold on a second. Kelly is going to make sure that law enforcement gets over there. OK? Thank you, sir. And we're going to make sure you get taken care of. A moment with a Ramsey show. I'm 20 years old. My income is 2,300 monthly. And my monthly bills are pretty high. Are you looking for new work? I kind of have a one-year-old. My boyfriend had the one-year-old. You can't kind of have a one-year-old. You're not babysitting your boyfriend's kid when you're broke. You're not in a position to be taking care of people. If he wants to get married and take care of you, we'll talk about it. What does he make? He hasn't worked for about eight months now. Oh, this is a real guy. Maggie. Maggie, are you hearing yourself out loud? He's a firefighter. I almost guarantee you he won't go to the fire academy. He's already gone, hadn't he? Well, he's waiting to hear back. See, he hasn't started yet. Hold on. He is a one-year-old. How does he not work for eight months? Have you supported him? Yeah. Oh, my-- His mom does a lot. And then-- Maggie, please, listen to two guys who love our daughters. You're being prayed and glad sweetheart. I'm telling you, you need an ugly, angry, older brother, or father, like one of us. And we would tell him to go away. And if he didn't, we'd help you go away. You can go out there, get you three jobs, get you an apartment, start you alive. You're sharp talking to you. If you were talking to your daughter and your daughter was you, you'd smack her. You're running blind into the wall, and you're going to blow the car up when you hit it. Run as fast as you can. Run. Now, sir, John, if you've listened to that last five minutes, and you thought this was boring, if you are listening, and you think this is mean, this is raw, inappropriate, or whatever? Friends, turn this station off and go away. The rest of the programming day we have here is important. But six until nine at night is the most important thing we are, because it teaches people how to live and live life right. Dave Ramsey and the Ramsey Show tonight-- six o'clock, right here on K-E-L-Y. The CBS Rewind comes up next. Good Monday morning.
