(upbeat music) - Listeners, Defender Burley, 2024. Rose Kanter has taken her first ever Burley title and, fine frankly, it feels very special. The sun is shining, the most incredible backdrop. Um, summed up Rosie, how the emotion feels now, because in terms of winter popularity, I don't think much rivals this. No, everybody was, you know, dying for her to win. She's such a fantastic rider, but I think hats off to Ros, 'cause she came in as favorite. There's been pressure on her all week from every angle, from, you know, there is a lot of tests that were stunning, and then did get a plan cross country with him, but she then was in the lead with Grafalo, and I just think that she's handled it all like a pro. I mean, I know she is a pro, but just a true champion, because she came, obviously, up off of Paris, where there was expectation, and there seems to just be a lot of expectation on her, and she's just handles it so well and so gracefully, and, yeah, she's just absolutely fantastic. And it was interesting, we just heard of the speakers, how she said, she was a little deflated almost after Paris. You know, that was the big gold, a big box, and that's been ticked, and then you almost think, okay, what now? But now to turn around to Burley, you're going to win it. - You're going to win it. - Yeah, it's just incredible. - I have to say, like, I mean, I think after the Olympic Games, when riders have worked towards it for a period of time, it's very natural to feel that deflation and that kind of, it's not that you're not motivated because you are, but I think first of all, you're probably absolutely exhausted. It's mentally exhausting. - We're a little sleepy. - The battle to get onto the team in the first place, and then, of course, everything that goes into being at the Olympic Games, like, there's a lot to do, and then all of a sudden, you finish that, and it's like, right, now we've got to regroup. Tom McEwan went back to Hartbury the week after, missed the closing ceremony, missed all of the celebrations, but, in fact, he did say he partied enough in the few days after the win that he got it in there. But there's a big life change, almost, and it's a big career tick. Grafalo coming into this week, Dee. I mean, the pressure was on, to be honest, because everybody felt like he was the hot favourite. Personally, I would've felt really sad if he hadn't won, because it would've felt like something had gone horribly wrong. No! I mean, sorry, yeah, you're entitled to feel that. I can't deny those feelings, but I think it's a very... You know, I think, for me, the Grafalo story, maybe the London story previously, the chipmunk, or Fischer chipmunk story, I think there's something about, like, just letting go and enjoying it, and I know that it can go wrong, but, like, what is life if we don't actually lean into these things and go for them wholeheartedly? I had this two minutes in the call before, what we were doing, you got about three or four minutes, we were on Burleigh TV with Nick and Tina. We were talking through Crystal, our Cavalier, Crystal. Is it Crystal Cavalier or Cavalier? Crystal Cavalier? You've now got me saying Crystal Cavalier. Cavalier, Crystal, Dave. It's actually shame for that. I'm still carrying on, like, this mixing bill, so what I've been doing it for a long time now. But, no, I was previewing the horse as top six, and actually, you're running out of time, and I can see, Nicole, the eyes that you've given me, are starting to come from all over, 'cause, like, we are going, we're going to commentary, we're going to go, and you're already going to say it, and, you know, I had to just stop everything that I was thinking about, and I said, this is a Grafalo world. We're living it, like, enjoy it. Like, this is embrace of what was going to happen today. I don't say that in that it was, like, I don't get, you know, the 20% chance, or the 20% normally that we see in a show jumping clear up early. It was a little bit higher than that today. It was one of the easier show jumping days up early, but at the same time, I didn't know that at the time. At the time, where I'm going, right in Nicole, is I just think, I felt it all week. I put it out all week, and I don't mean this about me. I made it more about just trying to find ways to connect in, and I don't mind being wrong in the slightest. It's just about loving it all, and today I absolutely loved it all for her, but it's been the story since the preview. I think we all, including me, went for on the preview show, and if I didn't, I can't remember, I can't remember. I don't know, I can't, he definitely went into Roblin. Oh, without it, he did listen, he did. That's because he made me pick last, and I don't think it's great when we all pick the same horse. But, no, I was really pleased. It's a great buzz around. The sun is shining again up early. If people play in lovely music in the background, they're parading their medals, they're parading their birdie winner fabulous afternoon. Interestingly, you just mentioned there that the clear rate here at Burleigh this afternoon was actually a little bit easier compared to other years. Just put that into context. When we got to Burleigh this morning, it was absolutely torrential. We had had so much rain, I was chatting to Paul Conner, and he built that course in all of that rain, and I think he did have one sort of eye on potentially actually how that rain would affect the footing, which actually held up beautifully, but if it had carried on, that would have made a difference. And also, if that had have carried on throughout the show jumping, it would have been a real influence. So, that's something to consider as well. Rose Kanter, I would just say one thing. She gets off, she wins. She comes out, she's going into her medal parade, and ultimately she is still mum, and I know I say that because I have so much respect for anybody that juggles it, but I don't think we can totally appreciate how unique eventing is that actually mothers go on to compete to higher level sport. When we looked at the Paris Games, Rose was one of, I think, nine mothers to go to the Olympic Games for Team GB, and I think seven of them, I'm taking this from the depths of my memory listeners, but seven of them came home with medals, which is absolutely extraordinary. Second place, Tim Price, Vitali. One pole down, it didn't cost him the win because Rose jumped clear anyway. Can I just say, I don't, we all talk about how Tim is a genius. Tim is a flipping genius because he actually has created, if you think of the disappointment and going in last at Badminton, having those senses down, it's hard to come back and go in in a similar position, admittedly not the lead, go in a similar position up early, just a few months later. He is an incredible horseman. - He really is, and it was interesting talking to him afterwards, how he said that, you know, us as the press were going, you know, what have you done to him? What have you done? And he goes, this horse jumped clear in every run practically other than Badminton this year. He says, he can jump. He says, it's five stars that he struggles. And he says, what the issue is, is he loses his concentration, gets distracted by the crowds. So he said, if you notice, there's six flying changes on the way in before the bell are gone. And that is because every time he looks at something, someone, fly and change to get his focus and let him know you're working. And he goes, oh yeah, I can do a flying change. So I think today, he said, I also didn't ride him, you know, like I needed to produce a clear, it was just keep him focused and he can jump. So I was delighted for him. Actually, I think that's probably one of my highlights. I'm delighted for Rod's, but it felt amazing to watch Tim produce such a great show jumping round. - It's so easy to say that keep their focus, but actually that's fine in theory. You go in under pressure in a podium position in a five star at Thunderbirdly, keeping your focus is very difficult. There are so many external influences, even just the shoot that goes in from the collecting ring to the main arena is jam packed for the people. There's hustle, there's bustle. And when Tim went in and they'd asked the crowd to be kept quiet, we were actually in the sheet going in and there were a couple of small children around and any type of child sort of made a noise, everyone was like, "Shh!" But even that has a ripple effect, doesn't it? And, you know, it is so much easier said than done. He is an incredible horseman and I hope his day will come. I hope his day will come to a five star. I'm not gonna lie, I'm glad it wasn't here because I really wanted Ross to win. - All I'm gonna say is I'm excited for next year because he wavered the possibility of a trip to Kentucky 'cause the owner of the Tally is American. And he said, you see, that's what Tim said. He said, "The owner of the Tally is American." And he said, "I thought he came from New Zealand, but maybe I made that up." But Tally hadn't worn the flight yet, but now he has. So I'd love to see them in Kentucky and Tim would be excited to jump on the model set. This is what he said. - Harry Meade, in third, D3 horses inside the top 12. He almost had pre-Glay rounds on the final day as well. I mean, we were looking back through a lot of records. You know, three horses in the top 10, three horses clear inside the time and all these, not clear inside the time, two horses clear inside the time. Picky Pardon at Belly. One man, it all came back to, and that was actually next to him. - Yeah, he obviously dominates the records here. And for people still engaged with this, listen back to the last night's tour diary for news about my audio book. It's an absolutely fabulous story. It takes a lot of meandering turns, but it ends up with Harry and Andrew having their picture taken last night or yesterday afternoon. God, I can't hear myself tinkled all this excitement coming from every speaker. The one club has happened. That story that I got so invested in is the only rider to, is the first rider to finish on his dress out score on two different horses up early, going back to the end of the roads and tracks. You know, Cavalier, Krista, joined in Midnight Dazzler, 2007. I know sometimes you can kind of get lost in stats and what I've always tried to tell people in the last few years, like forget, stop saying we're a stats company or these are those stats guys in the stats is just, it's just the story. Like we tell stories and Midnight Dazzler, 2007, all the way true, what's that? Like 17 years later and we have Cavalier, Krista, finish on like 17 years is a long commitment to five star. For a fellow that hasn't won five stars and a fellow that hasn't won necessarily the dancing horses at four star and below level of the sport. I'm so proud of him and the whole team that go behind that, the journey that I've had over the last decade, the highs, the lows, I mean, you go back to obvious, the injury with his elbows, which was very serious, nearly talking about the sport, it was that absolute desperate moment while going back into World Games in 2014. Cavalier, Krista, last year, getting on the podium was something special, but it felt like it kind of came out of nowhere. I don't know if it was the same for you guys, but I didn't feel like they necessarily had come with that much form and all of a sudden, like that clear round kind of catapulted them up there. But this year I didn't come out of nowhere. Maybe the only one that came out of nowhere for me was the animal of Laura in the fastest ever. He would have loved to win. Let's not make any mistake on that. Like a win is what would have made it really special, what made it a real story. This is still a venue, you know, where his dad won this event back in 1964. And again, you're talking, what's that, 60 years of Medes on a podium at Babington? Something very special there as well, I think, in the story. You know, this is a family, so much history and legacy in the sport, and now he's on the podium again. What I do know is that Harry Mede will win a five star, and it's common. You don't, this level of the sport is separate in itself from everything else. Babington, Burleigh, in this country are totally separate in themselves from everything else. And I think there's no doubt for me that like what you might see now is Harry Mede, tip around five, tip around tree stars. I mean, I think we saw at Rosie in the data, like there's a lot of tree star rounds in terms of crystal cavaliers, cavalier crystals, Jesus Christ, a cavalier crystals preparation for this event in a way that like very clearly were targeting, targeting Burleigh over the course of the year. So we might not see Harry Mede getting headlines between now and next May. And next August, September, when we're back at Burleigh, that's a big possibility. We should prepare ourselves for that. But by the time we're back here, by the time we're back at Babington, I think we should be very, very clear in what we're doing at four star, and what we're doing at five star. And at five star level, Harry Mede is gonna be one of the biggest names over the next four or five years. He's probably going into the top five in the World Rankings, I would suggest in a quarter. Big ranking points coming out. But I'd say he's as far away as he ever was from the Olympic team. - I was just gonna say, I'd be very, very interested to see how Harry Mede's campaign of his forces might change over the next couple of years, because he's now got this great team of forces at five star level. Actually, a couple of those, you know, carry on it. You've talked about the difference between five stars and championships. Keep campaigning at the five star. I am curious as to whether he will adjust any of his campaigns to more specifically target British championship teams, which, to be honest, let's be truthful, means being more competitive at the four star short level. We see Laura Collet, we see Tom McGum, whilst Andy Yousing, running competitively at the four short level of competition. I will be curious as to whether his style will change. You're shaking your head, I don't know. - But when you have that level of horsepower. - Most are all about. - He's saying five star horsepower, 'cause I think actually. - I mean, I think he's going to find it hard to compete with the sub 20s. And that's the way that level of the sport is made up. But what the sub 20s will find it hard to compete with is the ranking points at the five star give you. I would suggest that he's on a very clear trajectory towards a world number one, two, three position. I think that's what Harry made them for. I think if I was to make a prediction, I think Harry made will be world number one within the next two years. And I think Harry made will win a five star in the next two years. You don't keep, you don't get this field of horses to this level. And if he gets a tough badminton or a tough burly, he'll win it. - I'm going to be fascinated to hear Harry's thoughts on this. And actually, I think we'll try and get him on the show, listeners, and actually ask him, what's the goal? You know, what's the target? You're looking at this. He's a very, very analytical person. He will have a target. He will have a goal. And I would just do a shout out actually. Rosie, his wife, his kids have been here all week. The whole team of owners. Huge credit to them all. Because getting any horse to a five star, we've said all week, three horses to a five star is a massive achievement. And you just see, when you look behind the scenes, the inner workings of a team, whether it be Ross Kanter's team, whether it be Tim Bryson and Janelle Bryson, you know, they had Cosby Green, who's based with them, who put in a brilliant performance here. Or Harry Meade. The team behind the scenes do a brilliant job and should not at all be glossed over in this conversation. Yeah, I totally agree. And just go quickly back to Harry before we move on. You've got to remember, he's got Grafenak now as well. What's his base? Six five star horses he potentially have. Wild. Wild. He's also got some nice horses coming up the levels as well. He's got a wealth of horse power. Tom Jackson, Capil Tolo Drift. Tom, another top five at five star. That horse now has four top fives at five star. Been second and fifth at Burley, two top fives at Bob Minton. He is proving himself to be a real star. And the thing that I would say with him is for me, this weekend, he's made a bit of a breakthrough. In his first base, yes, he got to 28. But as Tom Jackson said, he got there in a slightly different way. First half of his test was trending low 20th. It's not going to take a lot to all of a sudden, get all of that to come together. And he's going to be getting a low 20th test. Listeners, if you can hear the chaos in the background, Ross Cantor is currently doing her lap of honor. She's waving to the crowd. It is just a Malta. Don't be a track. Don't keep from track. It's having a lovely time. Countering rounds, like he's literally, we weren't talking about D. That's the chaos in the background, listeners. Yeah, so I'm just, I think Tom Jackson, Capil Tolo Drift. First phase, there's a breakthrough. Harry Meade's being taken off within the prize giving listeners. Second phase, cross country. He definitely improved the stamina of Capil Tolo Drift and the speed here this weekend. That, I think, will be key going into next year. The horse is still relatively young. Capil Tolo Drift, I think, you know, there's more to come there. Ganspar Mac Soot, I mean, he's amazing. I literally, he's just bloody brilliant. Sixth place, best first-timer. Possibly the best character, I think, in the top 10, in terms of, you know, bringing a different energy to five star. Honestly, the man is, I love him. I'm a massive Ganspar fan. He backed himself and his eventing manager team and actually came fifth on the eventing manager overall leaderboards. I mean, great weekend, eventing and being a manager there. Ganspar, well done. But I think he was being phenomenal this weekend. It's nice to see a French rider here at Burley doing so well. Ganspar has his unique way of going with the horses, but they really want to jump to him, they really want to work for him. And, yeah, it's a fantastic operation. And I'm really chuffed for him. In terms of other notable performances in the top 10, Ganspar was brilliant. Gemma Stevens would have been very frustrated to have a rail down and that actually dropped her down to ninth place, I think. Alex Hasburner's another top 10 finish at Burley, three Burleys, three top 10 finishes. I think, actually, Dina's on a par with the likes of Jeanette Brakel. Yeah. Really got me there. I must have had a really... I can't even get you out of a hole 'cause my phone's died 'cause of all of the action. No, I don't, I don't. Don't worry, I can get myself out of the hole, boss. Great with, great with today. I mean, to come in and jump, three clears. He's 22, he's just 22, she's been fairly three times. Bango's the only other horse in the last 10 run ins and out that we've ever seen jump three clear rounds on the last day. Now topspin has. Now topspin has. There's, I think tree, as I'm gonna call it, I'm just gonna grab my WhatsApp while I'm talking to you. There's tree, I might think that it's a busy old WhatsApp I can tell you on the final day of the competition. There's people just loading information in here. No, I'm not going to commit to this. Three, writers who had three top tens in their first tree star. So I think that's for Alice. Yes, that's for Alice. Yeah, so actually there's five of them that have done us. Wade Martin did this, would you leave? Okay. Janette Breakwell, as you mentioned. And also another Janette Norton did this. Is he Taylor actually did this? And finally, the jogger. Listen to Green. We're only one who hasn't listened to one of the diaries. Listen to Green came jogging past and he was admiring her jogging form. That's very dodgy. I didn't mean it in a dodgy way. No, I definitely didn't mean it in a dodgy way. No, I just saw, like, I saw her coming from the distance and I thought, that's, I think, you know, I said that's the get of a young woman. But I recognize her. Are you calling me symmetry no? No, I'm just saying, listen to Green. In the green academy, I could see the hat on her head from far away, am I taught? That's probably just in the green. Should we stop? But she's not running, like, I think Lisa in the green should run. She's running, she's running better than any of the three of us would run. Should we stop? Let's stop. Let's not write that. You don't need to go any further. Stop digging. Nicola Toussaint was on top 10. He was seventh, like, his first burly. Alex Bragg, Quindiva. I mean, I would say Quindiva. Rosie, you've been a massive fan of her all week. As her vibe, she was burly across country yesterday. And actually, I think Alex, I did say to him at the end there. As I was chatting, Simone, his wife was like, "I'm gonna retire." "I'm gonna retire." I was like, "Well, you better tell Alex that." He would've loved that show jumping to be beefier, and bigger, and more demanding. Yeah, he really could've climbed some more then. I mean, he's still eight. Absolutely phenomenal. He's got two top 10 finishes at the two, five stars. He's gone to this year with this man. I think there's more to come. The dressage has improved. You know, that's not her strongest phase, but it's getting better. So I think they're a really exciting combination. I'm so glad it finished so well for the pair. Alex was very clear. You know, he finished here 12 months ago, and he thought there was more in the tank cross country. And I think that's what your first burly does give to you with a horse. Gives you an idea as to how much you've got left. Because if you go out all guns blazing and you go through courses around, you don't have enough left in the tank to kick yourself. Whereas if you get home and you know that you've still got a quarter of a tank left and actually you could've got a little bit quicker, yes, it's frustrating, but you know that it's there for next time. And he knew that he went to badminton. He was quicker, but I remember him saying very clearly came through the finish of badminton. I had more left. And when he finished third, he was like, I should've gone quicker 'cause he could've been a win. Here, he came here with a few to go inside the time at Burley. And I don't think he comes to Burley looking to get inside the time unless you are supremely confident. You know, he absolutely delivered. Other key performances in the top 20, I wanted to do a big shout out to Cosby Green and Coppa Beach. I mean, he's 18 years old. He's such a five-star legend. He's giving her so much fun. Completed Poe, completed badminton, completed Burley. Still does it all with a massive smile on his face. She does it all with a massive smile on her face. Absolutely brilliant. Then you go to the likes of Max Warburton, Deer Park revelry. Isn't it? The trophies just come past. War is in a beautiful case as well. I'd love to win that. Gosh, I don't think we're ever going to win it, Rosie. No, we can just stare at it and dream it from afar. I'll win a giant in my dream, don't you worry. (laughing) Face your eyes and then I'll wake up and be disappointed. Yeah. Max Warburton, Deer Park revelry. I mean, that looks a real horse in the future. He's only 10. Max only made his five-star debut of badminton this year. Montbegg exclusive. He looks like he has been riding at five-star for years. He feels like he's been riding at five-star for years. He should be very proud of his performances this weekend. And I think it's gained him a lot of accolades, to be honest. I would say there's a lot of people that have been really impressed by his horsemanship. And I think we'll hear a lot more of him and a lot more of that horse in particular in the future. Matt Heath, I know, said he thought he would be a good content of the Avery Trophy, which is awarded to the best in inverted commas cross-country round, which is on horsemanship, is on style and smoothness. And I think it was actually Anne's that won that this year, but he, that is how good his performance has been. Even though he had some time penalties, a 10-year-old round barely, big, big, big performance. Hi, it's Rosie. Oh, gosh, there's been so many, but I am gonna go back to Tim's show-jump round, because for me personally, was just delighted to see it all come together for him, because of the recent disappointments. He's had at five-star to just have one rail down. He looked absolutely delighted. That actually, yeah, is my highlight. Although there's been some phenomenal stories of phenomenal performances, I'm gonna say Tim's show-jump round. Dee, what stands out for you? - Today are all the days. How old are barely? - I think Harry made yesterday for me. I think it's a really, it's an incredible achievement to get one horse around barely clear. It's an incredible achievement to get one horse around barely clear inside the time, to get two horses inside the time, and for superstition to be a pathfinder and to go clear, with his family, with the history at the venue, there was something really special. If I was to pick one, I'd probably pick the last one, I think, take a horse to five-star for the first time, and I'm more velora, for me fastest round of the day, second or third last round of the day, to be greeted by all his family, and Mark Todd was there, 'cause he was doing commentary. He was at that finish line, Andrew Nicholson was at the finish line, and Harry then has that moment where he's home. He knows he's taking three horses home, he's in his white get-up, and he's being congratulated by fellow riders, masters of the sport. I think it was a really, just something unique and special, and very, very difficult to see again. - I don't think Harry would mind me saying that actually, animal baloners rail in the show jumping, I think Harry might take that one rather than the horse. It was a tough track, the time was very tight, you had to turn back tightly to those rollbacks, but I think he would ride that differently if he did that again, if I made me so bold to say. - Yeah, I think you're right. - Harry, come and shoot me if I'm wrong, but I think he would take a horse. - He took a tire of that, he took it with his other horses, I didn't get it with another stockish. - And that means that for me, animal baloners, in theory, could have been second on the podium. It's all very positive. - I probably would just say one of the two, do you take away a horse of the-- - Yeah, animal baloners, definitely. And like a real new star has been born. - I think so, yeah. - For me, you know, the star has been born, you've seen the others excel in the top 10 at championships and five stars. I'm pretty certain, actually, if you look at the top 10 of them all, actually, you look at them, Lordship's Graflow, the Inter-5 star, Vitaly, 5 star, Cavalier, Crystal, 5 star, animal baloners finish this horse, 5 star debut, then you've got cables on no drifts, there are gos, absolute gold, condiva, chilli, night topspin, all of those are really established five star horses. - Yeah. - Animal baloners, new kid on the block, that horse of Brahman winner is seriously impressive, and I think we'll see her a lot more. - The fastest of them all, you know. - And even though she was a little bit green on the cross-country at times, she was like a rocket at one point. Harry was coming back across Lion Bridge, and he had a minute left on the clock and I was like, is Harry at Lion Bridge? And you almost didn't believe that he was that quick, because he didn't look at any point like he was really, really going for it. He just-- - No, look at him in his. - His wonderful red coat. - He's got a throwback, isn't he? Like, when you look at him-- - You feel through vintage. - Yeah, like, you think of all the sparkly helmets and everything that have arrived? - Yeah, and you think you imagine, can we put Harry Eden for Harry Helmet? It wouldn't look right. - Nah, but like, just look at him there. He's got a big long red coat on him. He looks like something out of what you might imagine a piece. - Gini Cooper book. - Yeah, all right, well, if you want to take it there and like, I presume we don't want to review you sure to drift back into your own personal taste more. (laughs) But he is like looking at him there. It's a real, classic look of, you know, paintings. - Vintage. - Like kind of hunting paintings and hanging in a drawing room and-- - Just about letting him. - I'm pleased. - I'm so thrilled to be at the whole week family and his kids have been here all week. Lily, actually, has been on progress before and I think she knows more about eventing. I think you could ask Lily anything about any of Harry's horses and she'd have the answer. - Yeah, I know. - She's gonna be, she's gonna be a star in the future. I think my highlight, I have to say, I'm gonna hold my hands up and say it's very obvious but it's Grafalo. How lucky are we to see Lordship's Grafalo at Burleigh? How often will we get to see him? I don't know, you know, championships next year. It's the Europeans, the year after, of course, it's the world's in ark and, you know, he's a young horse still. There's lots, lots to come. I'll be very fascinated to see the British policy next year because will they give some unproven combinations, a chance of a championship? Maybe we'll see him back here, I don't know. - They won't give unproven, I can't see it. It's more to Dickey today, very briefly. - When I say unproven, I just mean those that are on the periphery, you know, those-- - You can't, you know, 'cause think about the periphery. Do you know who's under periphery? - Tom Gaxon. - No, forget that. They're on the periphery of that team right now is the rider that's a world champion and an ark and champion. - Yasmin Ingham, like-- - And she's already proven, she's-- - What I mean is, like, if Yasmin Ingham as a world champion and an ark and champion can't get onto the Olympic team, there ain't no risks being taken, there ain't no breakthrough stars coming. - But that's for the Olympics. We've put a three-year cycle now, or four years 'til the next Olympics in LA. Like, don't even go round, you're gonna be competitive, but you also have to look at giving those horses now a championship mileage. Look at the Europeans. In 2019, LaMoulin, London 52 goes. It doesn't go to plan. Two years later, he's on a gold medal-winning team in Tokyo. Like, you kinda have to stretch things out slightly because these are gonna be the stars. And actually, our team now, London 52, I think is 15 from memory. You know, he's not gonna be in LA 20-28. - Yeah, that's fair. - Nora's still got unfinished business. I think she'd say herself, you know, she wants an individual gold. But actually, I just will be interested to see how it plays out. Maybe we will see Grappler here at Birdie. I don't know, because let's be honest, he is one of the best horses we have seen in a long time. - Labia Sateek Sam was a great. He's a way off getting to Labia Sateek Sam's accolades. However, he's on the right pathway. - Yeah, I suppose where I look maybe in the next couple of years or the build-up that we're gonna have before there were games that I can. There's a lot of water to pass under the bridge between now and then. But my feeling is just that this event and the other event in the UK at five-star level, they just feel totally separate to what you're gonna see at the championships. You know, the next big championships I can, and then LA. And it just feels to me like a different, a different test. - Watch this space. Look, we've got lots of time to debate what could come next year. For now, let's enjoy the moment. There's some really rocking music in background as I hope you can still hear me. Lorde's Grappler has joined in a very elite group of horses to have won great badminton and burly. Let's just enjoy the moment. We've got a lot of time to discuss what might come in next year and beyond. But for now, Lorde's Grappler, we've seen something unbelievably special here at Birdie. A brilliant burly, I should say. And it never fails to be one of those goosebumps events. It's a brilliant setting. It gets better and better every single year. Royal Counter, who grew up locally, she competed in the Pwned Up Show jumping. She has been such a prolific winner in the DeBarry Burly Young event horse series here. She has her Burly title. We have seen something unbelievably special. We've seen some stars being born this weekend. I can't wait to see how it translates into next year. But for now, Dee, Rosie, everybody here at Burly, we hope you've enjoyed all of the coverage. We're going to bring you some of the Burly stories over the coming weeks as well. I feel like it's a chance to catch our breath, actually, after what has been a really busy summer. We'll have lots of content in store for you. But thank you for following along with the Defender Burly diaries. And Ros Counter, Burly Champion 2024.
