Joshua Project presents unreached of the day as we travel to Mozambique to pray for the 460,000 Makua, who are also known as Nahara, which means "fisher" and reflects the occupation of this people group. They live in rural communities on the coast of northern Mozambique, and fishing is their main vocation. Their Muslims intend to keep to themselves, they don't mind being dependent on others, were more educated and can solve problems for them. The Makua had an animistic worldview, including ancestor worship and divination. However, many remain unfamiliar with the details of Islamic doctrine. Very low literacy levels inhibit progress on several fronts. Resilient and patient teachers can demonstrate the value of reading to understand God's word, including Matthew Chapter 11 in their own language. At that time, Jesus declared, "I thank you, Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth, that you've hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Please pray for this people group to humble themselves, and come to try trust in Christ as little children. Thanks, on my course."
