Locked On College Basketball

Big 12 race is on! Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State tied at 5-1 | Clemson drops 1st ACC Game | Thursday Big Ten / Pac 12 primers

The top four teams in the Big 12 standings – Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Texas – were all in action against each other on Tuesday night with Kansas State and Iowa State holding serve at home over Kansas and Texas, respectively. Jalen Wilson had a career high 38 for the Jayhawks, but it wasn’t enough as Gradey Dick, KJ Allen, and Kevin McCullar all fouled out in an overtime game. Keyontae Johnson had the game winning dunk over Wilson off an alley-oop from Markquis Nowell. Meanwhile in Ames, Caleb Grill and Gabe Kalscheur combined for 33 points as the Cyclones knocked off Texas. Kansas, Kansas State, and Iowa State are now tied atop the league standings at 5-1, with Texas just behind at 4-2. How will things play out? Isaac Schade and Leif Thulin give you their thoughts.

In the ACC, Clemson took its first conference loss on Tuesday night at Wake Forest, 87-77. What does it do for the Tigers’ conference championship hopes? Who else will contend? Can Virginia rise up? Will UNC overcome injury issues? What about Miami and Wake?

Schade and Thulin also get you ready for Thursday night action in the Big Ten (Indiana at Illinois and Rutgers at Michigan State) and in the Pac 12 (UCLA at Arizona State and USC at Arizona).
