Edwards is the tailback. Drop back for done. Wants to throw, escaping backwards, throws it over. Sergio Morris, he has the catch into white territory, turned the corner to 40 down to the 35 and he's pushed out of bounds. In front of the Panther bench, close to the 30 yard line, he was knocked out of bounds by Jamaya Otis at Las Vegas, Nevada. Hey, good play call by the Panther offensive staff. They got banned coverage that they were looking for. Steps to the right in the pocket, throws down the field, finds OK again. This time he's at the 35 yard line when he's taken down and he falls ahead to the 36 quick tackle. Ocean sims to his left. Shaker looks that way. Pressure coming in. Norton Button. Good to see him back in the game. Didn't get there. Ashlock has the catch and then he is absolutely lit up. Jonathan Cabralt. Martin. Pestic kicks and bouncing to the left side. Gets to the edge. Pestic kicks into the 45. Makes a man miss at the 50 and dives ahead into Hawaii territory. He's down in 10 Panthers at the 49 yard line and he wants to throw, has time, fires it out. It is complete to Desmond Hudson for a first down, he carries some tacklers with him. A couple more steps down the field, close to the 40 yard line down to the 38. He's still out there as the second tied in. They'll play fake at this time, done throws wide open Anderson at the 30 inside the 25 and he's taken down by the safety minuma. Great play call by the Panthers and they're inside the red zone trying to knock on the door. They'll turn fake to Edwards now, eight done, walks into the end zone. Touchdown, Panthers behind the lead blocking of Edwards and a big time hole open on that left side of the offensive line by pinning an Anderson. The Panthers are on the board, it's 22 to six, eight Panthers to defend, they bring pressure with four as Shagger will step up and throw towards the end zone to Panthers. They were intercepted. Robbie Patterson's got it, he's coming back at the 20, cuts back 25 30 and he's wrestled down there. Panthers get one back on a Shagger bomb prayer that time that comes back and explodes in the face of the rainbow warriors courtesy of Robbie Peterson. Survey stands to the pocket pressure comes in, his he throws, it's intercepted. Tucker Langenberg's got it at the 25 yard line and he's taken down, no, not yet continues to rumble close to the 35 yard line where they'll put him down and the Panthers, consecutive drives, they pick off Shagger. Dump it off, Desmond Hudson looking for a block, he's got it from Derek Anderson and Lane prior and he turns up the lane prior, just sent somebody to a different island on that sideline as Hudson's able to take it past the 45, close to the 48 yard line. Panthers bringing the house throw into the end zone and nearly intercepted. It was broken up by Jonathan Cabral Martin as he tumbled to the turf, he had a chance to bring it down to the belly and just couldn't do it, pressure from Tucker Langenberg, fakes it to pass a kick, some keeps it himself, lines his way ahead and pushes through the pile, still going, dragging tacklers inside the 30, down to the 27 yard line, what a push of an extra three yards. And we fumbled down there because we would have scored, that was detrimental, then they turned around, we just got two poor coverage, our coverage is very poor right now. So we're, until we fix that, we've got no chance. And then we got too many turnovers and no consistency on offense. So what did you think the front was doing, coach, that made it so hard to rush the football? Was it a matter of they were doing some stuntin' and stuff that you? No, what I saw is what was on film is they, everybody knows when you put two tight ends in the game that they're going to set. So they sent in 5D linemen and you ought to be throwing the football against 5D linemen instead of trying to run the ball. But it is what it is, there's some things that have to be corrected now in this open week that we've been, we've been hiding and surviving on, but it's exposed now, so it's got to get fixed. You mentioned that coverage, coach, and yes, those first couple of drives, they were able to move down the field, slowed that down, laid in the first half, had the two interceptions. What was the change that you saw from your guys to bow up right there and make that where you guys could get it to a two score game with the touchdown you did score? They just, they just played the technique better there. It was pathetic the way what we did earlier of letting the single receiver beat us like we did. That wasn't that hard. He was fast, but it wasn't that hard to defend. It had to be done and it wasn't done correctly and thus they ran by us. You decided on the opening coin toss to take the ball coach talk a little bit about why you made that decision. It's probably stupid because I thought at the time when I hit the field, the wind had changed a little bit because it kind of circles down there and when it took the field, I was going to defer and take the wind and then as soon as I got out here, it felt like the wind had gone the other direction when we came back out and it actually did when it blew in that storm. I saw it was blowing pretty hard so I still should have done it. I was confused by the wind and then I said, "Well, shoot, we've got a good running game. Let's frickin' doesn't matter. Let's just go out there and use the strength of our team right now," which was our offense and see if we can't push the ball down the deal. That was a critical choice that went bad and I should have deferred and just because of the wind and man, it blows, it doesn't blow and it's just different. It was weird to weigh because for a while there the flags weren't hardly moving at all. I walked out here to half time ago, "Holy cow, it's really windy out here. We couldn't tell it up in here." Oh, blows that direction? That blows that direction. You can't figure it out but that, yeah, exactly, same thing. I should have frickin' deferred it in. Yeah, that happens. Three weeks on the road is not easy, Coach. How are you feeling? Where are the teams at after this? It was a tough stretch and it was never easy to go on the road anywhere but these three games, you've been doing some serious traveling here the last three weeks. This was the one that we had our sights set on, the Nebraska game was a Nebraska game. The first two were the first two but this to me was a big game for us that we could've done and had a chance to win. Now we would have to play good but we caught them at a time that they were, they're coming back home as to with their situation but at the same time it shouldn't have happened. That should have been a lot different ball game and we caused our own problems. We caused our own problems with that first fumble. We caused our own fumble by blowing coverages and we caused our own problem by penalties when we moved the ball and we get a frickin' penalty so we're our own problem right now so that's what's got to get fixed. You feel like your depth is coming along, how you want to coach or I mean you got a couple guys still injured and meber didn't get to go to a night again and how do you feel your depth is at this point? Well it ain't, we're not good enough so when you say depth we're not good enough at the first unit yet so whether we're deep enough or not you know we're playing with, there's some guys out there that we're not playing as well as we should and then we'll get some guys back now after the open date that have broken arms and things like that that will come back after the open date but I don't know if that's the, that gives you people but they better, we better get the passion so it's, it's, we're just making dumb mistakes and that's, that's a disappointing thing because you can't play good teams and make mistakes because you get exposed or you kill drives and you kill drives they get a big play and then you're coming from behind but we should have drove the field in the first series of the second half and made it 21 to 14 and then we're in good shape again but hell there's, there's two times we got the intercept we should have drove the field before half time and scored had the win behind us at that time there's multiple things we could have done offensively multiple things we could have done defensively a hundred percent better coverage red zone penalties you can, you can write a book. Okay. Finally coach you've, you've had great success over your career using that open date whenever it is falling to, to be able to make the adjustments takes what, take what you have seen and use that open date to springboard to the rest of the season. These last two results aren't what anybody wanted from a final score standpoint but have you seen what you want to see to know about your team now to know what you need to do and what is that? That biggest check mark on your board now for this open date to say all right we're ready to go into game week the week after that against the Missouri Valley Football Conference team. I don't even got a good answer for that I know we're not good enough and then we got to figure out how to make a strength in those areas so I don't have an answer right now I got, we're not good enough that the really disappointing thing is how the blown coverage is the last two weeks if we, if we have good coverages in Nebraska that score is totally different we have good coverages here our coverage is horrendous right now and our penalties on offense are horrendous and those are the two things that are, that are disciplined and they're, they're, they're personal and those are the things that can change but they got to change from, from they got to change individually and they got to change from everybody so those are the things that got to be cleaned up the most in my opinion.
