This is Mule 2, Ears Edition, your daily dose of Alamo Heights Junior School news, updates and needs to know. From the first bell to the last class, Mule 2, Ears Edition, as you covered from ear to ear. Good morning, Mules. I'm Junzhi. And I'm James. Welcome to today's podcast. Today is Wednesday, September 25th. Here's some tips on how to help others feel included. What are they? They are to talk to new people and include them in conversations and invite new people along to hang out with you. Great advice. Isn't there a club meeting coming up soon? Yes, the Girls Service Club first meeting is tomorrow in the cafeteria from 4 to 5 p.m. Thanks for the reminder. We'll be right back after this ad break. Hey, did you know that this month is Hispanic Heritage Month? No, I didn't. When does it start? Hispanic Heritage Month starts on September 16th to October 15th. What is Hispanic Heritage Month? Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the cultural heritage of people from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America, and those with ancestors from these regions. Are there any famous people of Hispanic descent? Yes, a lot of people, actually. Can you give me some examples? I'm sure you're familiar with Rita Cola, who is Hispanic. I don't remember who she is. Would you mind telling me about her? Yes, Rita Cola was a wonderful Mexican painter. One of her most famous paintings is called The Two Freedahs. She sadly passed away on July 13th, 1954. Is there anybody else? Eleanor Choa is another person who should be on the list. She was the first Hispanic woman to go to space. She also played the flute while she was in space, which is pretty cool. That's cool. What are some fun facts about Hispanic Heritage Month? Hispanic Heritage Month started in 1968 under President Lyndon Johnson when it was a one-week event. President Ronald Reagan expanded it to a 30-day period in 1988. Wow, that's so awesome. Thanks for teaching me all this. No problem. Hope you learned something. We are back in time for what we've been all waiting for. The Book Fair. Is that today? It sure is. And all of this week from 8.15 a.m. to 4.p.m. I'm so excited. But wait, how do I pay? Yeah, you crash credit card, e-wall, or check me out to A-H-I-S-D. Good to know. But what does it e-wall? Great question. An e-wall is a new way to pay at the Book Fair. How do you use it? All you have to do is get your parents or guardians to set up an account and have funds immediately available for you to shop at the Book Fair. Safe, secure, super easy to use. Thanks. And don't forget, there's still an 8.25% sale stacks. Thanks for all the information. Of course. Have a great day, Mio. And don't forget to meet A-Mio. [Music]
