How are we doing? Howdy. I'm doing good, especially after cancellation today at work. Got to play a little extra golf. So that's always a good day. Played extra. Well, actually I was striping the shit out of the ball today. But yeah, felt really good. The ball went great. Family's great. Ready to get into this big dog. Ready to get into it as well. There's a lot of stuff that has happened since the last time we talked. Obviously, we got to fill in the funkeys and let them know because I'm sure a lot of them are probably wondering what the hell happened. Why is there a missing episode? Why is there not a week three review on our podcast feed? So, Terry, you want to let them know kind of what happened near the situation? Sure, sure. Yeah, definitely. I will take 100% of the blame here. Came over and yeah, I forgot to remind Caleb to unlock the house and the house was locked. And I couldn't find a way to get into the house. I thought about breaking in. I was really tempting to break a window and assuming my way up in this beach. But yeah, definitely didn't do that. So yeah, no episode that day didn't drop. Was plenty prepared to drop a badass banger for you guys. And we were all lined up to, you know, drop a soda. But yeah, shit happens. Our apologies, first of all, from foremost. Definitely sorry for that. But yeah, we're here to make it up for you guys. Yeah, it's all good. It happens. You know, it's one of those things. I think more so. It was just an a weekend full of Ls. And it just so happens I wasn't even taking Ls in Texas when I wasn't even here. That's how, you know, negative the energy was. Yeah, it was hot. It was hot. A lot of stuff went down. Had a rental car debacle because of my lost ID. Really? We talked about on the last show. It didn't permit me from flying. So yeah, we got there. Yeah, but it prevented me from getting a rental. It didn't prevent me from getting a rental. It prevented me from getting the rental that I reserved for a not expensive price. And it was going to be, you know, a pretty, you know, nice vehicle on the thing. It's a little sheet that I filled out whenever I reserved it. Depending on what they had in stock, it was going to be a charger, challenger or Camaro. Ooh, one of those, which is, I mean, we had a Camaro the last time we went. So take them all to where we expected. But yeah, I get there, hand to my ID. Immediately, he's like, ooh, I don't know. Now, keep in mind, I did the research. It was supposed to work. The rental car company, their policy on their website says that paper IDs work or paper IDs are going to stop you from driving. I mean, it's a legal license as long as there's no restrictions on it. You should be good. But because it was at an airport, specifically the Atlanta Airport, where this rental car company was a merger type of branch, like the branch that's in the Atlanta airport. Yeah. Isn't a solo independent rental car company like Enterprise or Hertz or one of those, you know, this one just so happened to be paired up with another and they go off of their policy and their policy. So their policy was different. Hopefully I'm going to get a refund on that. I'm supposed to. I mean, I'll get it if I actually want to, you know, continue to call, which I'm going to, I'm going to do what they said it was giving up. Yeah, I'm going to, no doubt. But anyways, I said, well, what am I supposed to do? Do I, you know, where do I go from here? He's like, well, you know, don't worry. He changed it on the contract or whatever. So he's supposed to get back to me. And then I went to, you know, the place next door, the next rental car company, which they do take a paper ID. But of course, because it wasn't a reservation and they know, this is kind of what they do. She told me right. So yeah, we got it. But just so you know, they ain't cheap, which just so you know, if you're ever just a little bit of advice, if you're ever traveling, going to an airport or anything like that, always book ahead, which is what I did. I reserved my rental car in June or July, one of the two, I can't remember exactly what you want it was. But months ago, that's why it was really, really cheap. This one was literally a shit, you know, three times more than what I already paid. And keep in mind, I haven't gotten a refund for that yet. So I had already paid that. And then I had to pay the three times more. So that's kind of how the trip started. I'd rather walk and keep in line. Okay. Keep in mind that, you know, the, the rental car was supposed to get challenger, Camaro charger. I ended up getting a Toyota Corolla. I was going to say some kind of Toyota, but it wasn't necessarily the best Toyota Corolla either. Yeah. You know, the, it made a weird noise every time I put it in park. The, what is it? The, um, where did you see a break? No, the, the electronic clicker, you know, unlock the door to lock it and to unlock it for the first like two days of the trip, because it was like a three and a half day trip. The first two days, it literally, you, you don't have to click it like 16 times just for it to get it to work. Just, just sitting there clicking it, trying to hear it. It needs to be better. Yes. That's exactly the, um, situation. So clearly, luck really wasn't on our side, but to just further more explain how unlucky I was. When I reserved this hotel way back this summer, it's just something I've done dozens of times going on these trips, going anywhere, not just football games. I always like to reserve my hotel early. It's smart. And it's usually just based on the price, what I find on hotels.com. And you know, I find a hotel that I like and it's pretty much how I do it every time. I'm no different with this trip. But because the rental car situation kind of threw us off for the longest time, there really wasn't a, I guess, you know, the game plan that we had set fell through. Right. Because we were, we were stuck at the airport probably like an hour longer than what we wanted to be, which completely threw off our plans. Long story short, our initial plans were to go to the hotel immediately after the airport, check in, put our bags up, relax, and then go, you know, do whatever we wanted to do. You know, we're excited to be there. Usually you get a bolt of energy once you get there. So you're able to go do whatever it is that you want to do. But because it kind of threw us off and, you know, we got there around three o'clock, we didn't leave until like five. Our hotel was about an hour from the airport, just not necessarily an hour distance. Why is strictly time? Because you got to factor in traffic. And it was in the afternoon. So we're like, sure, let's just go do something, we'll go to the hotel later. And you know, that's exactly what happens. We're trying not to, you know, let it ruin the trip immediately when we get there. But it did started off on a pretty bad foot. So we get to the hotel later, like way later, I'm talking 1130. Damn. Yes. Like way later that night, we wouldn't, you know, we're on the town. We got places we wanted to go, we wanted to go eat and all that stuff. So it was a good time. Don't get me wrong. But we get to the hotel. And I take my idea and then I'm like, Oh man, here we go. What is going to happen now here at the hotel? It's the last like hurdle I have to get over pretty much. I go up there. She's a retailer. I have a reservation, tell her my name. She's okay. Can I get your ID? I'm handing her my paper ID. It was pretty much done. I'm like, she's taking it, please. I handed to her. And I'm like, I have my expired one here. It's the, you know, the hard license if you need that. And she's like, no, this will be fine. I've had to present my ID there's been some type of hurdle some type of something it's like hitting the waitress with your card and you're like oh please yeah exactly don't you'll decline exactly but anyways um yeah so she's just kind of you know sitting there typing on a computer whatever you know very kind lady Nigerian accent you know very easy to talk to and she out of nowhere he's like are you in a group I was like no she's like you know continues to type in her computer she's looking I'm just looking at her face like come on like I thought I was out of the woods like you know there's like a hand reaching back to pull me you know yeah and she's like she's like somebody was supposed to call you I don't know I was like oh my gosh right there my face just drops and she's like I have to explain something the group that's coming here reserved the entire hotel keep in mind I reserved my room mine months ago so whenever this group reserved the hotel they reserved every available room which every available room was pretty much all but four me and three other people that reserved rooms and pretty much they like she tells me this group is a swinger group hell yeah so right then she's like expecting me to kind of freak out like she's like are you like she's expecting me to be like are you kidding me like what the hell's going on give me my money back oh yes but keep mine it's like 1130 and just being completely honest I really don't care yeah I don't know when you're putting folks keep on I'm sitting there the thing I'm like all right so what is it you know it's I mean a group of very rich swingers probably like yeah what are they gonna be doing walking around the fucking hallway blood-ass naked decided to you know rent out the room but yeah stay tuned because you will oh shit oh dear anyways yes so she says right then okay and I tell her I'm like no I'm fine whatever I don't mind so she like puts her like her hand up to give me a fist bump yeah yeah I like you know I wasn't you're not dumb you're not dumb you're not dumb asshole yeah I wasn't going to still fit nothing he was like 1130 luck has been terrible the last thing I wanted to do is the weekend of a game where the Chiefs are in town yeah very traveling fan base oh no wonder the last thing I wanted to do is go try to rent a room for three nights in atlanta and then yeah you were getting exactly what happened at the airport okay let me type my computer it's five times what you were just going to spend yeah that's that's not what I wanted to happen there so obviously I took the room and we went up there the first night was out it took it to though yeah and and you know we've eventually figured out that it was only saturday night so it wasn't like it was the whole three-night trip right at night we were in the clear and sunday night we were in the clear keep in mind I'm thinking let's group of ten people what the hell is gonna happen so we wake up saturday and we go out do our adventures you know we didn't have to travel that day saturday is always my favorite day in atlanta because you know usually I go there friday saturday sunday you fly back monday friday and monday are fly days i'm i'm traveling those days right so no matter how early i get there to atlanta which this time we got there about two o'clock eastern time get off the plane go to the airport even with the whole rental car situation going smooth i would have been out of there by three three thirty but because it didn't go smooth it was about four four thirty that we got out of there so friday is always a kind of a tired day just because we got back to the hotel like 11 30 or 12 doesn't mean we were you know wow having a blast a lot of that was driving and all that good stuff right but because i mean it is a huge freaking city and like i said we're pretty far from the airport so we did do a lot of traveling and anyways so saturday is my favorite day because that's the first day you're there you know you're you're itching to do you know everything and eat everything taste they're a little bit of exactly you know go to some of your favorite spots to eat go to some of your favorite spots to shop so it's kind of exactly what we did so we were gone literally all day left our hotel at like 11 30 or noon we get back around 11 30 or midnight and when we get to our hotel literally the entire parking lot's full with cars driving around in the parking lot so i'm like what the hell is going on little car meet yes exactly so we're trying to you know just driving around looking for a place to park parking lots full after driving around about eight times i put it in park go inside to tell the you know the people like hey what the hell is going on we have a room here like come on what the fuck is supposed to happen here yeah i walk in i see a desk it's like the craziest thing you could see and next thing you know um i see a woman walk up boobs out literally damn wearing like a lingerie type of shirt boobs are out i'm glad you said woman yes but you're gonna say wiener no shake oh you're luckily there was no male revealing i think that might have been part of the like they're hey no men men have to be whatever covered up yeah this was pretty crazy but i was like oh my gosh and there's you know loud music it was clearly a party keep in mind it's almost midnight yeah so i go to the front desk i'm like hey what's going on i have a room here and there's nowhere to park like what am i supposed to do and like hey man just park behind somebody like this is clearly like we don't really have a lot of control over this don't know what to tell you so i parked my eye i walked out as soon as someone else and woman i just saw what i just saw so clearly i am not mad at you i understand this is a little bit out of hand so we go back to the parking lot we're driving around probably two more times we finally find a parking spot where someone just pulled out nice we pull in we go in the hotel we're on the eighth floor that's what we come to find out that idea hotel we come to find out that floors one through seven are all booked just one big fuck fest all of the people that are not part of the swinger group are on the eighth floor including us so we haul ass to the elevator and you know we hop on there's some more people on there they're dressed like freaks one of the you know one way i can describe it was one of the guys was dressed like mr slave from south park you know with the BDSM the black vest like the children around his neck i was like all right this is what we're doing here but keep in mind i'm like completely out of my comfort zone whatever before you wanted to join you know you did i was completely out of my comfort zone so when i'm in the elevator i'm like it's getting out of here you know what we're going to do so so the elevator is going up being a stops i don't even look at the floor and i just walk out and i'm like oh man we're on the third bam the third floor is a whole nother party every single level was its own little party damn i walk out of the uh you know the elevator on the third floor and i'm like all right what the hell's going on here turn around i realize it's not my floor go back in the elevator we shoot up to the eighth floor but the thing is whenever we get out somebody i guess sees us and they follow me and ashe back into the elevator yeah it's a couple oh no you know exactly yeah yeah literally like these two good looking units can actually going up it's five floors that we got a ride with these people we're going from three to eight where they question you know where they really go finally finally find out as we're going like you know it's just casual talk at first yeah yeah yeah i'll do it all we're doing good you know whatever and then once we get kind of high they're like oh you guys are on the eighth floor and we can see the shock of them oh we weren't so we were told we weren't supposed to yeah yeah venture off we were supposed to free we're passing you guys we passed the line party tunes and stuff and i'm like hey it's all good you know whatever you guys aren't bothering us have fun you know we understand whatever we don't participate we get out of the hotel room or we get out of the elevator and walk out to my hotel room and it's because it's right by the elevator which i regret oh yeah they saw y'all i was like i wish i would have a dummy room i wish i would have walked to a wrong room acted like i was going in just to make him think that's the room that it was and then we go to my real room so i kind of was worried about that for the remainder of the night but as we're walking up and as i'm trying to frantically get in the room he peeks out he's like i will we're in room 713 if y'all like oh that's it don't take you down and then she was telling all you here's the guy he's like yeah she looks good huh baby he looked good so venture they get back in the elevator and you know there i went out to the car and i was like you have to believe me yeah you won't believe what the fuck i think it was going to be a thing where i'd have to where she would have proof yeah i thought it was going to be a thing where she like she didn't believe me like yeah okay yeah swinger okay sure nice try what are you trying to get me into you got the proof but no there was a lot there was very hard evidence she saw she oh they're a wall there so she saw uh first hand what you're talking about yes okay okay okay she saw everything i'm i'm so glad that she did because yeah and then she was freaking out you know the first night whenever she found out she did she believed me and she told everyone like hey this is what's going on why this is the hotel that we're in the situation and of course everyone was like oh man are you kidding me and let me tell you what would have happened if if my family was in that scenario with the kids and Emma being that person the first time she would have saw somebody some woman's tits out they would have got uppercut it right there straight out the bat boom straight uppercut they would have went to the room or whatever in that couple tried to follow us Emma probably would have put a uh what is it 917 or 817 619 yeah whatever it is yeah she would have put that all over them dogs she would not have put up with any of that shit they they would have been that would have been the highlight of my life just watching her just beat the heaven these little bitches just trying to get out of there that should have been so funny to watch yeah it was a wild situation led to a wild weekend and obviously that was a long losing to a wall that's i mean that's the thing is i felt worse after a win than i feel after this loss just being there i've been there just because it'll you know the way that we were playing if that's what you know if that's the best the NFL has to offer right yeah the Kansas City Chiefs back to back Super Bowl champions best quarterback phenomenal defense one of the best coaches if that's the best that the NFL has to offer we went toe to toe with them like some fucking geez we were trading punches the crowd shout out to everybody there man phenomenal experience the energy was so electric that i literally forgot to take a picture when i was there and that's something that never happens i have a picture you're living in the moment though in or outside of the stadium at every single NFL game that i've ever been to and this was the one that i didn't i did tour the stadium the day before and i got pictures in there but it's still you know it's not the same i know it's not the same got a lot of compliments on michael vick shoes my algae crumple jersey i bought a badass michael vick jersey that i actually need to show you it's in that closet over there but uh all in all i'm happy with the trip a lot of negative things happened wasn't necessarily the most thrilling experience but i think i'll still look back on it pretty fondly and just a crazy experience i mean the elevator situation was straight out of a movie the hotel the whole that in general seems like it's straight up like that was insane i couldn't believe what was actually happening but nonetheless um yeah welcome to the football function podcast thank you for taking a part in story time with us we usually don't do that especially not the first 20 minutes of the show but i felt like we really had to for multiple reasons mainly the banter with the list i gotta vent with you guys man i gotta let you guys know what all happened here this was a crazy situation i've ever experienced anything like that before yeah and uh yeah the way i was feeling after that just the way you know what like i said what i had to go through walking through that lobby the way i was being looked at like i was a piece of meat yeah it's not fun ain't it was not fun just after all you girls have to go through that all the time i got a small taste of it and it was kind of weird i don't want it to the wannins yeah it was just weird you know that's the best way to to explain it yeah obviously when uh it's when it comes to an invitation to you and your lady yeah that's just fucking straight up weird yeah definitely but uh usually things don't go that dark on uh the football function hey sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do this is a really experience we we gotta tell you what happened maybe we want to expect something like that to happen do we want to make it even darker and kind of go over what happened yesterday and when we came we went 0 and 4 and our two volleyball games keep in mind there's two sets in each game we lost the first two competitively yeah we were in that one all game both games we scored over 20 points these games go to 25 i think maybe one of them the clock ran out yeah i did we were time expired on that the clock ran out on our second games on our second as well i mean we just i don't necessarily feel like it was as bad of a performance as you guys do necessarily and i'm not necessarily saying that you're wrong for feeling that way because there's been times where as a team we've played well and i played like crap and i left and i was like man you know just had that sour taste in your mouth oh extreme sour yes and that's kind of how i feel too because i know that i struggled in certain areas but i also know that my serving is a straight out of chris sales handbook and you know it's something that you know i i take a lot of pride in on the ball before is knowing that whenever i'm back there to serve go ahead and talk it down baby no that i ain't hitting the net it ain't getting shanked i'm about a 98 percenter and that's no joke dude that's a that's a straight up real percentage that you're on yeah that's uh that's that's the one area though but there's some other areas and if you look at me in the front middle where i'm the setter my pro football focus uh score is not necessarily that high and that's the thing is yesterday i was thinking in the game that you were doing good yeah it wasn't you didn't have all your you know you didn't have as many kill shots i don't feel like you were going for as many but some of the techniques you were taking offensively i felt like were good yeah they were different they were catching the team off guard they were working i just felt like defensively things necessarily weren't going yeah like two years standard i felt like i was getting picked on especially in the back row i was shanking left and right and whatever it's called when you you're using your hands or whatever that seemed like i was doubling and it was going through my hands it was going no way setting yeah which i'm sitting okay yeah i mean it was wasn't our best day in the office but i still think there was there was some growth we were short lensy yeah and we're not used to just playing back-to-back games and not getting a single break and other girls have been doing it but it's still it was a lot to ask and i feel like you know hey we're getting better it is what it is something happened at memorial i mean a ac park or whatever and we had to play at memorial a new brand new not brand new but a new facility that we've never been at i feel like that had a lot to do with it too that core was way bigger than the senior yeah the core was way bigger there was so much room behind so much room i feel like that's a little bit why yeah um the clock ran out so many kind of making this because there's a lot of time factored into chasing after the ball yeah but anyway we'll have better days yeah i feel i feel like um we especially in my and i we definitely don't want to to feel like how we felt coming home last night yeah i was complete silence and i know when uh when there's no words to be said yeah she's extremely pissed like extremely pissed but i know it's not towards anybody else and i know for a fact it's it's all you know self-inflicted and how she thinks of how she performed and you know i think she knows that i could play better too and i know that too but but i think it was more for her it was just how um all the little dinks and stuff that she normally gets over and all the the spikes and shit that she normally gets um her serving was a little off yesterday so it's mine but yeah i think a lot of that it's her her and her opinion how she feel about herself in that game yeah that's what it is you know i know i mean her nickname is MVP for a reason so we you know we go as she does so when her energy is up when she's winning those reps and i feel like she was doing a good job yesterday too she took some rough falls yeah she did it came it's pretty hard a couple times so she was feeling it this morning that i feel sore and that was coming off of being you know already sort of from walking so much yeah over the weekend airport to airport just traveling she got a park and walked and we walked all over Centennial Park we went to yeah i went to tour the stadium that was a lot of walking just from our parking lot or to the stadium and back yeah that was crazy age you know she had it a lot worse than me though man her feet they paid for it just because she packed one pair of shoes and they were a pair of shoes that weren't quite broken in properly and she kind of just pain she kind of just hits the L and said you know getting a new pair of shoes yeah and you know power to her i feel that because she was you know a lot of this bad crap has happened and she was you know still trying to keep a positive outlooks you're still trying to keep a positive attitude off the whole trip what a trooper yeah because you know she was really looking forward to going to Atlanta as well and just to kind of top it off how terrible the luck situation was everyone knows she's a massive swifty she loves Taylor Swift she's a huge slifty this is the one game that Taylor Swift did not go to and her relationship with Travis Kelsey course the one game that ace went to go watch the shoes play and it's probably the only reason why she went anyways it wasn't necessarily the only reason it was a big reason it was a huge reason why she was excited for several months oh yeah leading up to the game you just Taylor Swift i would be i'm excited if i would have thought it went for about a quarter and a half she was literally scoping every single time out every commercial break she was scoping every press watch trying to see where she was and what a swifty obviously about you know right before halftime around that area she had gotten word on the internet the Taylor Swift was not in attendance that game and what a business rough what a business no rough way so i was like man you're taking l's here too that's how you know where it is we're just a failure to hell out of here and it sucks because we love Atlanta but obviously next time we go be a lot better i got a couple falcons games coming up i want to go with them in november going to Denver so that's going to be slow and that's that's too soon probably anyways let's get into it let's give it back going to met live stadium to take on the new york giants a divisional matchup one of these teams coming off of a week to l one of these teams coming off of a week to dub but it might not be the team exactly exactly caboises struggled early in the game but they were able to make it a closer contest especially if you look at the scoreboard that was one of the only games that i got my eyes on was the cab boys and ravens but i was able to hear about the new york giants beating the cleveland browns that one kind of surprised me as well so now this game has a little bit of of an interest factor in this one do you think the giants have a snowball's chance in hell of beating the Dallas cowboy well if if the cowboys don't pick up on both factor of guarding him elite elite neighbors um you know if they can't do that then the giants do have a chance to win this game but you know danny dimes does have that one game where he looks amazing where he looks like that MVP candidate can he follow that up it has been the question and can he be consistently playing that way against high level teams now the cowboys are coming off two straight home losses where they had just absolutely gotten shitted on especially the defense i i have faith in the offense that they can maybe pick things up maybe uh look like the office of last year it looked like the explosive offense that they can be like the the money bag offense that have been paid this offense maybe they can look like that this game this is a good game that the cowboys kid quote-unquote get right against um but look the the giants are feisty they love um obviously playing at home against the cowboys this is going to be a feisty game a game where um it's got to be tightened up on both sides of the field i'm talking about the cowboys have to look a lot better the giants have to get over that hump of not being consistent and i think both these teams have opportunities to eliminate those factors but i'm going to give it to the the cowboys just in just in um just in the fact that they can't just be you know shitted on repeatedly for the third time in a row their their backs is again completely against the wall and there's no emergency door to open that some bit so i feel like it's panic time for them if they lose it gets a giant yeah it's going to be some fucking some depth heart moving over there oh man if they lose to the giants it'll be panicked yeah not necessarily because ooh they'll never make the playoffs or anything like that i think that it's just a nice for them it's just strictly because of who the loss would come to what it would signify for this season right now they are a little bit in panic mode the saints were rolling whenever they beat the cowboys and the Ravens are a hard team to match up against i kind of talked about it on our previous show just playing in atnt stadium you would think that Derek Henry would want to go off you didn't let more jack someone want to play a clean game and for the most part that's what happened they got out to an early lead and the cowboys just struggled to close that gap and to put them behind the eight ball that even if they start playing well late in the game going up against the team like the Ravens it's tough because they're not going to step on their feet like they're not going to ruin the lead that they have and just give it back to you you're going to have to really take it and the cowboys weren't able to do that so it's going to be very interesting but i do think that Daniel Jones is with the presence of Malik neighbors he's going to have a lot better odds to keep that job for a little bit longer i think like Malik neighbors might play good enough just good enough yeah to keep that security for Daniel Jones but i don't think the Giants are going to have enough to get this one done give me the cowboys on the road riding the ship and you know giving the nice calm push that their fan base needs i hate the the world isn't ending yeah yeah still got a talented team we just need to do certain things better and you know why not have a team like the New York Giants to get right against it seem like this is a perfect get right game for the Dallas Cowboys and i think they're going to go in their handle business yeah i feel like the Cowboys always have to remind us that excuse me that you know we we do have the extremes the extremely high the highs and the low of the lows but we still have the calories we can maintain a good NFL play and we can obviously be teams that could be contenders of that of the Super Bowl and obviously the playoffs so yeah you never could lose hope or you can never you know put all your chips or your eggs in the Cowboys basket so you know they're just one of those teams that you have to you know ride the wave this is one of those games that you could see them explode or fall back into consistency like or to just like mediocrity like they have been so i don't know uh this could be a firework kind of game
