Now. I don't know who is behind the curse, but I don't know when we need him. We need him now. For some reason cool bars in Hollywood have to be hard to find and have magic signs. This is the cocktail nation. Here we are in the week in the Sydney Penthouse, bringing you the lounge music from across the globe because of all the best gigs as well. Our stuff segment, look at Lounge Life magazine as well. And I'll tell you the story of an argument that I had with somebody at a shop just the other day. Somebody is trying to tell me something is black when I know it's white. Anyway, I'll bring you that story soon. Plus of course the best lounge and exotica all lined up for you and a little bit of a tribute to Sergio Mendez who just passed away. Late last week, just after I'd already sent the show out, but we will tackle a little bit on his life. It's all coming up on the show this week as we kick off with Alien Fashion Show in Rocket '95. Now playing on the cocktail nation. [Music] She moves like a reed in the wind. Sweat on it's the devil's grin. All I want is a place in the sky. So I can see her last year, she's passing by. She's the only cook for me. In this big, bad galaxy. In this year, passing by. Tell her about a rocket number '95. [Music] She smiles and takes a drag. I'm stuck on my baby's jack. She says, "Daddy, can you find a son?" Her eyes are slow, so the morning will come. She's the only cook for me. In this big, bad galaxy. In this year, passing by. Tell her about a rocket number '95. Yes, because I saw the bill when I paid for it at the dealership and I can tell you it wasn't a Ferrari. It's a Mustang. I don't know about that. Buddy, I know what I'm driving. So funny, I had this conversation maybe 20 years ago when I was driving my first car, probably a little bit longer than 20 years ago now, I think about it. A 1960 FB Holden, it was a General Motors car very loosely based on the 1955 Chevrolet. There was an earlier car called the FC Holden from about 1958 and I was at a petrol station filling up, putting some gas in the car. And this guy comes up to me and he goes, "I like your FC." I said, "No, it's an FB Holden." "No, no, it's an FC. I know I was around when they came out." And I said to him, "I think I know what I'm driving, buddy." "Well, I don't know what they do." "What is with these people? I know what I'm driving. I know what I purchase." People are strange, aren't they? Let's get into our mysteries, our unsolved mysteries of the 1950s and the nine Californian transients now in the alternation. I swear the mysteries of the 1950s. Well, it's time to explore the enigmatic tales of the 1950s in the era devoid of smartphones and instant verification, where bizarre incidents unfolded without concrete evidence challenging modern understanding and persisting as unsolved mysteries. Tonight asking the question, what were the nine California transients? Not all potential UFO activity in the 1950s was based on eyewitness accounts. Alongside incidents such as the lower flights, specialist equipment helped to uncover strange astronomical findings that have baffled experts in the field. As described in a 2021 study published in scientific reports in April 1950, the Palama Observatory in San Diego, California was taking photographic plates of the night sky as part of a project known as the Palama Sky Survey. In a period of just 30 minutes, it was reported that nine transients, unexplainable objects in the photographs appeared and then vanished. The objects were said to resemble modern satellites, however, the photographs in question were taken seven years before the first man-made satellite was launched. There have been many theories concerning what made the nine California transients, such as the presence of dirt on the lens, to unidentified natural satellites. Nevertheless, the exact reason for the transients is still unknown even today. Look up, damnation. Instead, he accidentally developed a weak adhesive that could stick to surfaces but could be easily removed without leaving residue. For years, he struggled to find a practical use for it until a colleague by the name of Art Fry thought of using it to anchor bookmarks in his him book without damaging the pages. And this led to the creation of the now iconic post-it notes, a staple in offices and homes around the world and often used as practical jokes in offices. People like to cover your entire office with it. Here's Town of Galahana and Simone now playing in the Cocte Nation.
