I was asked why I am always so well dressed, I responded with "I'm Vain". She didn't know what to say after that.

This is the Cocktail Nation, broadcasting from the Sydney penthouse. And now, your bartender, the lounge lathario, Coo Cooper. Well fresh from a visit to the town of this week, a couple of new suits, and I do like to dress well, and I don't want spending money on clothes. It was Mark Twain who said clothes make the man naked people have little or no influence in society. I would tend to agree. Now, we're going to kick off with John Neal and his orchestra. A song called "Blue Martini" from the album of the same name. In 1963, he composed and conducted this album which featured sex often as "Plast Johnson" and was released by Ava Records. According to Neal, writing in the album's liner notes, the recording aimed free, new arrangement form incorporating solo improvisations at an outer orchestral shell. And he achieved that. Here's John Neal and his orchestra, Blue Martini, on the Cocktail Nation evenings of the penthouse.
