The lineup was announced. We'll get into that. But big conversation today is houses, postseason, rotation going to shake out. A lot of that has to do with who is returning. Are you going to get Klayan Kershaw back? Are you going to get Gavin Stone back? How does Walker Bueller continue to progress? Could you see the cat-man on the mound once again? So we're going to get into that. But first and foremost, let me know what you're representing Dodgers nation from today. Give me those cities. Because look, I mean you guys are repping hard. I mean it's all Dodger baseball all the time and we are getting closer and closer to the postseason. The Dodgers, their record at the moment, 89 and 62, three and a half games up on the San Diego Padres. The Padres did take seven of 10 games from the Dodgers this season. So they have already clinched the season series. So you get to look at that three and a half game lead as a two and a half game lead. But how about the Padres yesterday? How about the Astros yesterday? It really was the perfect situation because if you look at the score for yesterday's game, the Padres lose to the Houston Trastros by a final score of four to three. But how about Jose Altove? Jose Altove hits one off his toe and Machado fields it. They get the out of first and he's crying. Look at him. He took off his shoe and there's the Jose Altove. I guess he doesn't have a tattoo on his toe and that his wife is going to get mad about. I guess that's the truth there. So really a perfect situation for the Dodgers yesterday. The Padres lose in the Astros. They get embarrassed there in that little moment with the Jose Altove. What did you guys think of that moment right there? We got Reppin Vegas 7 to 5 in the house. What's up, Ryan? We got Lawrence. Jerris. What's up Dodgers nation from Rancho Mirage. We got a shout out to the Trastros and the Rockies. Yeah, give them a little comment of the show right there. Jose Aguirre. People not wanting Gonslin like we have any better options out there. We got Paul Gutierrez. Shut him down. Knack. Yeah. How about that? Our friend at front of the show, Mr. Landon Knack, another big opportunity. Landon Knack gets back on track today and he continues to strengthen his case to get some action in the postseason. Tonight, you have Landon Knack posting that 370 ERA 54 punchouts on the year going up against Ryan Weathers who has a 355 the array, 67 strikeouts, a 340 Pacific time start and it's the Wednesday affair, the Wednesday affair, Dodgers, Marlins. So that's going to be exciting. We need to show how Tony hit some more bombs, but shout out to the fans and AK representing from California. Crazy says India in the house. What's up Dodgers nation? What is up, India? What is up? Crazy, weirdo, Danny. I like that name. A tattoo. Yeah, as yeah, Al Tuva lost two inches without his cleats. That's from Joel Rodriguez. Finish him. Finish him back to back. Nate says Al Tuva is on my fantasy team. So I wasn't a fan of it. Hey, trust me. I understand that. Okay. I mean, all rivalries are put to the side when fantasy is involved. I respect that. For me, my fantasy team this year went down the drain because Ronald Acunya, Jr. went out. My name was Acunya Matata, and I was happy and proud of that name, but unfortunately, just wasn't my year. We got Melo. What's up DMACC from Bloomington, California. Jason Diamond. Al Tuva is a clown. Carol underscore S. Miss you DMACC. My husband says I pay more attention to you than I do to him. Carol asked. First of all, you got a you're that's good times. I mean, what's your pay attention to is me, but really it's your team. It's your boys in blue and you want to know everything about them. So he's pretty sure he respects that, but thanks for joining us. Always respect all Dodgers fans rocking with us here on Dodgers dugout live. Cause you guys can't get enough of this team. I can't get enough of this team. I think down the stretch here, it is becoming increasingly fascinating after yesterday's win and the Padres loss. The Dodgers, their magic number is down to eight. It's down to eight on the season. So yeah, you kind of have to look at a little differently because of the tiebreaker, but get a lot of people asking me, what is magic number? How do you calculate magic number and try to make it simple for you guys. Magic number is the combined wins by any team that's ahead and the losses by the teams behind them where they can't catch up. So the Dodgers magic number right now is eight. Any combination of eight Dodgers wins and Padres losses means the Dodgers will win the division. Of course, that's a little different because they do have the tiebreaker, but it can take them nine days to clinch. That would be if they want every single game in the Padres lost every single game or it could take them up to 162 games for them to win this division. So good news is they're in pretty good shape. You have the tiebreaker over the Diamondbacks and you look at where the Dodgers stand right now all a major league baseball. You're right towards the top. You're just two games back of the Philadelphia Phillies for the division, but let's get right into it and let's start with the big updates down in Miami. And that is that David Vassey tweet out a few minutes ago that Clayton Kershaw is pitching off of a mound. Clayton Kershaw is pitching off a mound. Dave Vassey tweeted Clayton Kershaw is throwing off the mound in Dodgers bullpen right now in Miami. So that's a major development because Dave already told us a couple of days ago that Clayton Kershaw was unlikely to pitch again in the regular season, but he continues to put himself in the best position to be able to go if they need him in the postseason. And clearly his season isn't done. Glass now season, most likely 99% done. Clayton Kershaw's though, it was just unlikely for the regular season and he could get an opportunity in the postseason. And Kershaw, he told reporters a couple of days ago, it's just a healing thing. There's no miracle insult or shoe that will heal it. But there are some things that will help and between that and time, I still think there's a shot for sure. I'm just trying to throw a lot of pitches because I can't go 100% intensity yet. So I'm hoping if I continue with the intensity part, I won't need much of a rehab stint, if any. So the arm is still feeling good. It's just being able to push off that rubber and getting that toe right. And yes, it was bone spurs and the way to heal that is really time. But Dave also said that there was some ligament stuff going on. So you have to factor that in as well. But the truth of the matter is, is this feels like it's trending towards Clayton Kershaw being available for this team of the postseason. And if you look at his numbers that he posted this year, a four or five ERA, a four 45 expected ERA, those aren't great elite numbers. But he also had flashes where he did look really good. He had flashes where he said, wait a second. That guy can help this team this year. And we look at two, I know there's people out there that have some PTSD after Kershaw had the worst start of his professional first bow, Hall of Fame career against the Diamondbacks, where he was only able to record just one out and gave up six runs. But he was a shell of himself. The command was off. The velocity was down. Look at the starts where he's looked good this season against the Cardinals on the road to strike out in six innings of work, gave up four hits against the Brewers in five and two thirds innings, gave up three hits, had six strikeouts in two walks. If you look at some of these other starts, the Phillies at home, that's a good team, a good offense. You went four and two thirds innings, allowed just one run had five strikeouts and no walk. So the flashes have been there to the point where I'm thinking this. Sure. Can you expect clean Kershaw to go out there and give you five, six or seven innings? Maybe not five of everything's efficient and he's feeling good at some point. But where I think you could utilize clean Kershaw is one, if you're up two games to nothing in a series in a possible game three where you go out there, see what he has, have a shorter leash on him, give an opportunity to prove they can get big league hitters out in the postseason and you have a very potent offense led by Shohei and Mookie and Freddie and the rest of these guys in the B.W. or the Blue World Order that can go and carry you offensively or you use him in a piggyback situation. You use him in a potential piggyback situation where maybe you have an opener and that opener takes out the top of the lineup for a potential team. And then you see a combination of a clay in Kershaw, a Tony Godson. We'll see what Gavin Stone can bring to this team. But I think that is the path that I'm comfortable with with clay in Kershaw. Not just, oh, he's fine, he's healthy, the toes cool, give him the ball, let's roll. No, you can't have that at this stage of his career, at this stage of his career because of the postseason woes in recent seasons because of the injury issues because of unfortunately the home run ball that has hurt him in the past. You can't have that, but I think there is a strategic way to be able to optimize him and take down some innings and allow this offense to carry you. So look, the good news is there is good news in the injury front because it's been a lot of bad news with Tyler Glass now going down. You lose your ace, it's a massive blow. You lose your ace. That's like losing your starting quarterback, right? But the difference is they still have frontline guys. I think Yo Shinobi Yamamoto is the best pitcher on the Dodgers right now. He would get the ball for me in game one. He is my ace because of how his stuff plays and how dominant he can be. Yes, the efficiency wasn't great. He had to work away, work his way around traffic. I mean, he had more traffic on the base pass and the four or five through it at five o'clock on a Tuesday, but he got out of it and he's stranded runners and they went over 10 those situations. But I am very positive about this development of Clayton Kershaw, the fact that he is throwing off a mound, the fact that he has continued to work hard through this. And I remember asking Clayton Kershaw a couple of weeks ago just about having this beer 17th season and him wanting to contribute. And really, what I got from him was he wants to be a part of this team in any way, shape, or form. He just wants to be able to be a big league starting pitcher that is a piece of a World Series puzzle. He doesn't need to be at number one or a number two. He's not demanding the ball in those situations, but he can help. And when Clayton Kershaw has the fastball command, he does need to pump 95 or 100 doesn't need to be upper 90s. He can live between 90 and 92 occasionally 93 if he's really feeling it and the adrenaline is really pumping. But as long as he's locating and he's keeping it down and he has to feel for that slider, he is going to be able to help this team. So hey, I think that this is a very positive development. I definitely want to see Kershaw in some capacity in a piggyback situation or a shortly situation getting an opportunity for this team in the postseason. But let me know down below. We got a ghost embarrassing altovey. We got to make that a t-shirt. Get the altovey t-shirt going. Absolutely. We got to Yaga Mill 33. Hey, DMACC, would you ever do a deep dive on Mersh postseason stats? Yeah. I mean, I do a lot of deep dives on stats. Why not? Uh, Kaylin DMACC ready for Dia Dillow's Dodgers night at Chavez ravine. That bobblehead looks incredible. That's a great night. So definitely excited about that for sure. Charlene Oh, four a.m. in Singapore representing can give you a comment on this show for that. Appreciate that BC NYC in the house. What's up BC? I don't know what you do for a living, but you're always rocking with this man. So I appreciate that. Raoul Navar. I heard Copec is interested in starting a game. What do you think DMACC? I say no. At this point of the season, why mess with something that's working? We've seen Michael Copec throughout his career. When he was a starting pitcher, it did not work. And all relievers for the most part are starting pitchers at one point. And you have the high leverage reliever that you needed in Michael Copec. You take him out of the bullpen. You don't have that guy that can pump 100 plus and dominate hitters in high leverage situations. You still have a lot of really good relievers. We bruised our grader all who's looked really good. Evan Phillips, who's looked really good. Ryan Frazier, who's looked better. Hudson's is kind of going through his moment right now. But he for the most part has been solved this season. You got guys that are high leverage arms, but you don't have that one dominant slam the door shut, turn off the lights. I'm going to throw you an FU fastball to get out of this at bat. They need that with Michael Copec. I mean, long term, I mean, it's a conversation you can have in the off season as far as building him up to starting that process because if I Michael Copec, here's my thought process right there. So Michael Copec is someone that who's his agent, his agent is Scott Bors, Michael Copec's contract. What does it look like? Well, he has one more year of team control after this season. And then he said to be a free agent. So if I Michael Copec, I'm looking at this and I'm saying to myself, well, wait a second, I was with the White Sox. I was in baseball hell and then I went to baseball heaven. Just ask Miguel Vargas, who's the saddest baseball player on the planet at this point. Hey guys, Miguel Vargas, we're always thinking of you. You're in our thoughts and prayers, my man. But Michael Copec, he's in a terrible situation with the White Sox. And you look at the year he was having with Chicago this year with the White Sox this season, 43 and two thirds innings, 43 and two thirds innings. He appeared in 43 games. He had posted a 484 ERA, a 13 51 whip. He had a 1.6 home runs per night. So he was not keeping the ball in the yard, still striking out opponents at a high clip, 12.2 strikeouts per night. But that ERA of 4.8 of that fit of 4.84 and that ERA of 4.74 went from 4.74 ERA with the White Sox in 43 games, down to a 0.95 ERA with the Dodgers in 19 innings and 19 appearances. That fit went from 484 to 191. The strikeout rate did go down a little bit from 12.2 to 11.4 strikeouts per 9, but he's kept the ball in the yard. He's not throwing that fastball as much. And that's a big reason why he's been able to have that success. So all this is to say that if I'm Michael Copec, I'm saying to myself, wait a second, if I can go from being bad and ineffective as a reliever for the White Sox, then go to the Dodgers where I'm in a much better situation. And I'm having success as a reliever. Maybe I'll give being a starting pitch or another try. And if that works out, that can be the difference of 100 plus million dollars for my net worth in my lifetime. So I see the thought process there, but I still think that it's a tough situation because he still has not proven that, hey, I mean, I can throw a lot of slider and throw a lot of cutter and be effective. I mean, his bread and butter is still going to be his explosive force in fastball. But it's interesting. It's interesting conversation. But this year, I think he's firmly entrenched in his role for this team. What up DMACC Jr, saying hi for my dad's house. I suppose we're in school, kid. Roya Strada, DMACC, let's go. What up Roya Strada. Shout out from beautiful La Puente Omar. That's where my dad graduated high school La Puente, California representing Ventura, Nova Riverside, California. What's up DMACC? Knack Knack. Who's there on the mound tonight? Can you get a comment to show for that one? And yes, Landon Knack did not have his best start in his last appearance, his last outing against the Braves. He went just two innings, gave up five runs on seven hits, allowed those two home runs, wasn't sharp. Before that though, had his best start of the season, when he went six innings against the Guardians, he allowed just two runs on three hits, gave up a home run there. So the big key tonight is command, as always. Knack told me that if he has that slider that opens everything up for him, because he's got some East West in there, he can keep hitters off balance by working more quadrants of the zone. But I think it's just going out there and throwing that fastball with conviction, hitting the corners and avoiding the home run ball. And that's what we've seen his last couple starts. He allowed two home runs against the Braves, he allowed a home run against the Cleveland Guardians before that. So I'm looking for a really nice outing tonight from Knack Attack, get him back on the snide, get him back in this. We get Jason Diamond, go look up Catman playoff stats, all weight, and then tell me there's someone better. Jason Diamond, you're not wrong. Off the top of my head, I'll tell you that number. He does have a 9 20 postseason ERA, but here we go. DMACC, when are you going to pitch for Bobby Miller? Yeah, so yeah, we'll continue down this list of playoff options. So we've talked about Clayton Kershaw as an option. You could see him in a piggyback situation. You could see him on a short leash. Bobby Miller, though, right now he's out of the mix. I don't see Bobby Miller being in the postseason mix at all whatsoever. At this point, you just look at the lack of production in his last couple of starts against the angels, gave up seven runs and five innings, allowed three home runs against the Chicago Cubs. He allowed six runs in four and a third innings, allowed two home runs. Last night against the Marlins, four runs into innings of work. And I think when it comes to Bobby Miller, he needs a reset. He needs to go into the off season, get healthy, simplify his pitch mix, and psychologically get himself in a place where he says, you know what, I'm not going to let things bother me out there on the mound. I'm going to focus on executing each and every pitch and trying to avoid the blow up innings because that's the issue with Bobby Miller is things fall off the rails very, very quickly. And he doesn't have that ability just to gather himself and avoid those blow ups. And Dave Roberts said after the game, I've talked about performance at this point and time of the year is everything. We've certainly given him every opportunity to write the ship. So I think we're going to circle up and we'll make that decision possibly tomorrow. So I don't know if Dave Roberts has said anything yet, but it's clear that there's not going to be more opportunities for Bobby Miller for the rest of this season. You look at the ERA, that ERA is at 852 and 852 ERA for Bobby Miller. When you look at how many innings he's pitched, that's one of the worst in baseball. So they've given him opportunities. It's just unfortunate. The homerun ball has plagued him this season. He just struggles to keep the ball in the yard, struggles to limit hard contact. And at the end of the day, you are what your numbers say you are and he has an 852 ERA, a 702 expected ERA, 698, fib a 471 expected fib in 56 innings of work, 13 games. So in those 13 games, he's given up 17 home runs. That's just not going to get it done. That's not going to get it done. And he did say that that was the silver lining yesterday. So that's good, but it's just it's not enough. And it's unfortunate because the stuff is there. The stuff has the potential to be electric, but it just is not effective. And you just can't risk that if you're this team. I was hoping to see a better showing from Bobby Miller yesterday because I think his stuff is good enough to the point where you can say that is where you want to see it as far as the fastball, the change of the curveball. I mean, when he has all of his pitches, he could be a dangerous pitcher. But unfortunately, he's falling behind the count. When you're falling behind the count, hitters are going to hunt fastball when they do that against Bobby Miller. Usually good things happen for them and bad things for Bobby Miller. And if you look at Miller right now, that 852 ERA that he has for pitchers this season, there have been 333 pitchers that have pitched over 50 innings. 333 starting pitchers have pitched over 50 innings. Bobby Miller's 852 ERA is the highest of any of those pitchers. So it's unfortunate, but he's got opportunities and just is not his year. Sometimes it's not your year. I am not selling all my Bobby Miller stock. Let's not forget guys like Corbin Burns, guys like Roy Halliday, what were their arrays in their second seasons? What was Corbin Burns? ERA, his second season? It was very, very high. Let's take a look. Let's take a look 2019 Corbin Burns with the Milwaukee Brewers, 49 innings of work, a 882 ERA, an 882 ERA. The following season down to 211 in the shortened year and then 2021, 243. So that was also after a really solid debut season. We had a 261 ERA. So look, it happens. You have your sophomore slump. Don't write these guys off when they have slumps. Look at Roy Halliday. I don't know about you guys, but Roy Halliday, he was a, I love watching Roy Halliday back in the day. And in 2000, in 2000 after in 1999 was really his first year as a full starter, he had a 392 ERA and pitched 149 to third zinnings. In 2000, he pitched 67 in two thirds innings, had a 1064 ERA. So sophomore slumps happen. Don't write off Bobby Miller. But for this season, it's not Miller time. We're not going to see him for the rest of this season. So let's talk some Tony Gonslin. But I do want your thoughts on Bobby Miller. Buy or sell? Give me buy or sell. Are you selling your Bobby Miller stock? Are you buying it? Because I'm looking to buy just because I think I could get some value out of it because just look at Michael Copek. He was a failed starter. He dominates in the bullpen. You could see that with with the Bobby Miller. I think that's something that you could see. Imagine if he simplified his mix, goes fastball, change up starts locating that fastball more. Maybe some two seem, maybe some four seem, and then he could become an elite reliever. Take some pressure off of him, find his role, find his niche. Jerry Harrison, friend of the show, love me some j hair. He was suggesting finding a split finger fastball, something to keep hitters off balance that kind of darts out of the zone. So the stuff's good enough that you want to continue with it. We got Brian, any comments on Madden's thoughts on Dodgers pitching injuries. We'll talk about that in a little bit. Roberts and DMAG will Smith are related to each other. That's from Bull OK. It's a bra. I'm not related to Will Smith or or Dave Roberts. Give me one second here, guys. Got to plug this in. There we go. Budmash is Oh, Budmash is closing this month name. If you guys don't know, Budmash is a really cool barcade. I did a segment there a couple summers ago. Oh, that's that hurts. I mean, Budmash is a really cool barcade. You guys into barcades? I mean, who wants who wants me as a street fighter? Who wants me a Mortal Kombat? What's your guys go to bar game? We'll talk about that. Yo DMAG, Budmash is closing. Interesting. Adios Miller and CTE three breaking Bob Miller does not have a locker in the Dodgers clubhouse currently. So yeah, I mean, like we the easiest thing to predict is that as far as Bobby Miller and that doesn't surprise me at all because you got better options. I mean, even if you have to go to Justin Roblesky. I mean, look at Roblesky's start that he made in Houston, right? That's a good start. That's a solid start. I mean, he's a perfect pitcher. No, he's not. But anyway, guys coming back, I think that they have some better options. There's no doubt about it. Be oh boy DMAG enough already. How many times do you need to touch the hot stove? Curse is done and should not be used in any fashion. He can give up five runs before you blink. He no longer misses bats. The truth of the matter is though is when he has a slider, he actually does miss bats. His whiff rate before the injuries last year was really solid. I'm just saying there's not as many better options. So couple quick updates. So the Dodgers initially announced their lineup and you had Otani Betz, Teosker, Freddy, Tommy Edmond, Will Smith, Miguel Rojas, Kiki Hernandez, Chris Taylor, and Landon Nack, but they have since updated the lineup to scratch. Miguel Rojas. So there's an update right there. The new lineup is Otani at DH, Mookie playing second batting in the two hole. So Mookie back on the dirt, Teosker Hernandez, batting third, Freddy Freeman batting cleanup at first, Tommy Edmond at shortstop. And remember the nice play he made a couple weeks ago, excited to see Edmond at short. Will Smith behind the dish. Andy Pajas in center, Kiki at third, Chris Taylor and left and Landon Nack on the bump. So Miguel Rojas scratched from the lineup today. Jack Harris from the LA Times tweet out, Rojas said it's nothing serious. Just had some discomfort in his leg and needed a day. So I think there's a lot to be had there. Miguel Rojas has played outstanding defense this season. He's filled in that role that the Dodgers needed someone desperately to fill. And that is as the shortstop that doesn't just play that position at an average level. He's been fantastic playing that position. Miguel Rojas has been otherworldly at shortstop this season. I mean, the numbers back it up. The eye test backs it up and they need him healthy for the postseason. And I think that's the biggest takeaway here. Look at this. This year, his his out above average is in the 97 percentile, 12 outs above average for Miguel Rojas. This season doesn't strike out does not whiff a lot. 99th percentile and strikeouts. 9.7%. That's how much he strikes out this season. This has been Miguel Rojas's best individual season in a full regular season. He's hit 296 with a 117 weighted runs created plus. So he's 17% above the average. He has six home runs, 36 RBIs in 98 games, 319 played appearances. So this team needs Mickey Rowe. If he needs a day off, then give him that day off because if you lose him, then you got to have Tommy Edman at shortstop. And then you got to use Kevin Kiermeyer and the postseason roster potentially. And that could be a dead bat there. So nothing to worry about there. But as someone posted in the comment section down below, Bobby Miller does not have a slocker in the Dodgers clubhouse. So it does not look like Bobby Miller is going to make his next start in his next turn of the rotation. So I think that's safe to say right there. So we'll wait and see what Dave Roberts has to say when he speaks to the media in a few minutes down in Miami. We got the 80 G. Otai needs to be a Hail Mary pitcher. DMACC do you think stone will come back before the postseason? So let's next talk about Tony Gonslin. So the news on Tony Gonslin, Dave Roberts said, if that's where we're at, and that's what we'll do, whatever gives us the best chance to win a particular game, that is what we are going to do. And Tony Gonslin, he has made two rehab starts, two rehab starts for Tony Gonslin. That's how many he's made so far. He strikes the cow and he has a look on the way to Taylor swine out of this for strike three. He's gone two and two thirds. Strike out by Gonslin coming on a cutter down and away. And it's next one. They're going to try to get all of the two. It is a work to four minutes. I'm going to try to stretch out to four minutes for strike three in a chain jump. And he can come back as a starter or a reliever. And he could also come back to his soul. He is the boy. Get a bit of his first strike through. That is something changing. You can see Tony Gonslin as well. Could he be a bulk option in a bullpen style again? Well, Dave Roberts said, the beautiful thing about Tony is he'll do anything we ask. He has pitched in both roles. If that's what we're at, and that's what we'll do. So he could come back. And Dave also said that the difference now is the landscape has changed with the injury to tie the glass out with some of these injuries piling up. Dave said the landscape has changed since we talked about Tony. So with that, it's still a longer shot, but I'm really impressed that Tony has taken this really seriously as a potential opportunity. He's going to take another one and we'll see from there. So this sounds to me like the Dodgers are putting themselves in a position to have as many options as possible. And if that means Tony Gonslin, if that means Clayton Kershaw, it gives you some insurance if you can't get Gavin Stone back. So that is something to think about there. So I mean, yes, he has not pitched well, right? Yes, he has not pitched well in the postseason. But having said that, I mean, you got to keep those options open and he's a fresh arm. He's an arm that's coming off of Tommy John surgery. But I mean, I mean, the way I look at it, I think that we're getting closer and closer to Tony Gonslin being back on the mount for the Dodgers. I do. I do. I think that we'll probably see him sometime next week during that home stand. That's what that's my expectation. Just reading the tea leaves. He has another start this Saturday for Oklahoma City. If everything goes well and he bounces back well, I think that you need to see how he looks on the mount on the mount. I'll give myself a bra, right? You need to see how he looks before we make a decision if he can help you in the postseason. So yeah, I mean, look, you already had a dog pitched this season in decoy. Don't have the first pitch. Might as well have a cat at this point. Okay. So yeah, do I love the? There's a thought of Tony Gonslin pitching meaningful baseball for the Dodgers in the postseason. Does that scare me? Sure it does. Sure it does. But the truth of the matter is, is you need as many capable arms as you can have to choose from in the event that something else happens to one of these pitchers. So you want to continue that process. And it's interesting how this parallels what we saw. If you remember, in 2022, game three of the NLDs, game three of the NLDs, Tony Gonslin got the start and he was coming back from an injury and he went just in any and a third had no efficiency. He had through 42 pitches in any and a third give that one run, but he did not pitch well. So it's not, it's kind of scary to think about it. But still, you got to do what you got to do to get as many cable arms ready. So this is your by yourself or Bobby Miller, Paul Gutierrez is buying princess A is buying. We got Roy Howdy was a pitcher not a thrower. That's a good point. I mean, that should be if I was Bobby Miller, I'd be writing that on my mirror in my bathroom, become a pitcher, not a thrower. And right now he's firmly in the thrower mix. You heard Don Trow will have talking about it last night reading swings. When you read swings, you can keep hitters on bounce because they're not sitting on stuff. And that's how you get your 90 mile per hour fastball to play up, right? But he has a 98 mile per hour fastball. He just needs it to play up for sure. Alex ran through a DMACC, not all pitchers have the same career. Corbin Burns is poised. Bobby Miller's point. Absolutely. I'm not saying the Bobby Miller is going to be the next Roy Halliday. I'm not saying that he's going to be the next Corbin Burns. What I am saying is when a pitcher still has the stuff and it's there's no doubt about it. When it came to stuff plus, Bobby Miller was right up there with some of the best pitchers in baseball in his rookie season. And I think that there is a little bit of that guy still in there. And I think that he's dealt with injuries this season. And I think that that is a made it's a factor. I mean, the knee and you combine everything. It's it's not it's not ideal, but let's not forget you can't write a guy off when he still has the goods. And last year is rookie season. He was just one of seven starting pitchers, one of seven starting pitchers in Major League Baseball that had four stuff plus pitches over 100. His curveball, his change of his fastball and his slider. Those were all stuff plus over a hundred. So there's that nasty guy still in there. And I I said, I'm not I'm I'm buying I'm still buying the stock. Not this year, but I'm not selling the stock for sure. We got to Orioles DFA Craig crumble. I did see that. I did see that. Did they play when he walked in? Were they playing were they playing the frozen song? Let it go because that would have been awesome when they play the let it go. Let it go. Let it go. I mean, what are they doing that for? I mean, when Kim Brelsa got the axe, old Craig crumble. I mean, just wonder if that was the case, but now I mean, shout out to, uh, to Craig Kimbrell, who's probably still in the bull pen waiting in the 2013 NLDs for sure. Beat Punk Bryant says DMACC's back broke faster than Bobby Miller's facial expressions. You guys got to give me credit, man. I can make fun of myself. Okay. So DMACC's of Dodgers Nation. The keyword there is last year from Johnny Owen. Absolutely. I mean, but if you could do it, if you've done it before, there's a chance you can always do it again, especially when you're young. A 199 super chat from some kind of wonderful Miller is not Mexico weed. Okay. Come on now. That's from Brel right there. Uh, well, okay. Scooble should have had a locker in our clubhouse with Miller lugs, a dealer, and two prospects being gone. Scooble wasn't going to get traded. The one that I always kind of think about is, is, uh, you say kakuchi. And if you guys have been watching this show the entire year, I was pushing for not just one, but two starting pitchers at the trade deadline because I feared like something like this was going to happen. I feared that something of this magnitude was going to happen where you're going to lose one of your top guys. And unfortunately, you just got flarity who has pitched very well, but you could have added another one in kakuchi who was already on a, uh, I mean, they gave a lot to get him to be honest with you. You have to pay up to get him, but still I definitely would have been for that. But you are where you are and there's no additions to me made at this point. But yeah, as far as Gavin Stone, Gavin Stone is expected to begin a throwing program this weekend. So that's the biggest wild card here. He's expected to start that throwing program this weekend. And if you can get Gavin Stone healthy, that's someone who is firmly in that game three game for conversation with the way he's pitched this season. So just look at your options now. If Gavin Stone gets healthy, Walker Bueller builds on his last star where you pitch very well against the Braves. Clay and Kershaw can be back in the postseason. Tony Gonslin pitches next week for the Dodgers and looks at least serviceable. Landonak has a good start tonight. Five guys that you can pick from to cover those games three and four. We know that Yamamoto and flarity are games one and two, but you could do worse than that. And yes, there's teams out there like the Phillies that have had better injury luck than the Dodgers. But let's not forget that since Suarez has been back from the injury, his ERA is north of five that Nola has gone to a slump. Sanchez has dealt with stuff. Wheeler has dealt with stuff. Yes, they're in better shape than the Dodgers because they're not these high velocity guys typically. But still, I mean, you could do worse than the Dodgers are right now. So I feel pretty good about it. I really do. I don't feel great, but I at least like the fact that there are some options to pick from. And at this point, it's about getting the best guys ready. And I'll tell you the biggest development, all of this, the biggest development, all of this is Walker Bueller. That's the biggest development in all of this because I saw something in him that we haven't seen in a while. And yes, the walks were high. You didn't have five walks, but still five strikeouts, six innings on three hits, one earned run against the Braves before that against the Cubs, five are running five innings. I mean, you need these guys to take this bull by the horns and run with this opportunity and made the best pitcher win. I think that's kind of the biggest, biggest key here at this point. But here we go. We got to get some audio issues. Let's see here. Gonson's arm, bow down. Let's see who's coming up. Let's see here. Need to see Gonson before October running out of time. We are so cooked, no starting pitching. Here's the thing. You lost Tyler Glass now, right? But I mean, you gained a Yamamoto. You gained a Jack Flaherty throughout the season. So I don't want to say, I don't want to think of this as there's no starting pitching. I really don't. We got to cat toward does from time. What are you? What are you talking about? Here we go. Rengoku 81. What up DMACC hiding in the bathroom at work so I can listen to the show. Amen. Do what you got to do to listen to Dodger baseball, man. So it's all about. Let's go more on. Let's keep. Let's keep going because we haven't talked about Shohio Tani yet. So this could be the biggest wild card of them all is the Shohio Tani situation. And yesterday, I thought it was cool what he said. He was asked about the home run and the 48th home run, by the way, first 48, 48 guy in baseball history. Shohio is on pace for 52 home runs and 52 stolen bases. Just imagine that. Imagine your starting pitcher that's coming back from Tommy John surgery. Your injured pitcher goes for a 50 50 season. Try to wrap your mind around how ridiculous that is. Shohio Tani is one of one. One of one as far as 50 50 one of one as far as a player that can pitch like an ace and hit like an MVP. Well, after the game yesterday, he was asked about the home run and he said the Homer helped kind of close the gap, but not being able to hit with runners on first and third. That's something I'm looking back on. So one question we need to have answered throughout the rest of the season and in the post season is how is Shohio going to perform with runners on base because this season as a whole, he hasn't been great in that department. Shohio is hitting 223 with runners in scoring position this season. Yes, the expected numbers in the batted ball profile. It looks like the numbers should be better than what he's actually posted. The expected stuff is better than the results. But at the end of the day, those are the results right now and Shohio I think needs to kind of find those different clubs in his bag in those situations. I think a little more bad to ball in some of those moments is going to help him because you've seen some big daddy hacks and you've seen some chasing and expanding of the zone. And when he's expanding the zone, especially low and away, especially a foot above the zone, that's when you know he's becoming a little too. The swing decisions aren't great. And he needs to make some better swing decisions in those moments. And yeah, that's something we're going to look back on is how clutch are these home runs going to be? Are they going to be ones where the Dodgers are up big, down big? Are they going to be ones like we saw when he hit his 40th home run of the season, which was a grand slam home run where he went 40 40 and was a walk off. So it's not like he hasn't been big in those moments. He certainly has come through. We've seen multiple walkoffs from Shohio Tani this season. But I definitely think that that is something that I think is going to change a little bit once he hits the 50 home run mark. I think you're going to just see him up there going to the big part of the field, going with the approach where he's hitting to right center field. And when he's hitting to right center field, that's when you're usually seeing the best version of Shohio Tani and a little more big part of the field too at some point just kind of going for the line drives. And when you have that kind of strength, the home runs are going to come more naturally. So I definitely think that's something that will happen because yesterday, great game on paper. You're all over Twitter, you're all over IG, Magic Baseball is making YouTube videos about your 40th home run. The truth is though, we're one for five, one for five yesterday with three strikeouts. So that's not the best for Shohio Tani. Now Shohio was asked yesterday about the pitching and will he pitch again this season? And this is from Bill Plunkett. He said, there's no conversation that was brought about with the pitching coach in terms of pitching in the postseason, but we're going to have a meeting back in LA to discuss the overall rehab process. Thought I heard the word off season from Otani in his answer asked you to think you could physically do it if he asked. And he said, I'm not sure. So that sounds like Shohio kind of pushed back a little bit and was a little non-committal on the idea of pitching in the postseason. But I do think that at the very least, the Dodgers want to put that in the minds of their opponents at this point. The Dodgers do want it out there that teams are going to have to potentially game plan for Shohio. And I think that a couple of things have to be in play for Shohio to pitch. I think one, obviously, physically, he has to be at 100%. It can't risk any further injury. Two, he has to make it through the rehab process without any setbacks. Once he's facing hitters and simulated games, everything has to go well. Three, velocity has to be consistent with what we've seen. No setbacks from that end. And four, I want to see a little deeper of a run for him. You don't want to rush him back. I mean, if we're already in the World Series and maybe you start him as an opener, that I think makes more sense and bring him in as a closer in a tough situation. But he has to feel right. He has to feel right. By the way, we've got an update right now on Gavin Stone. This is from Jack Harris. Gavin Stone is quote, very unlikely to return this season. Very unlikely to return this season. Jack Harris tweeted, Stone is still experiencing soreness in his shoulder and has not yet started throwing again. He also confirmed that Bobby Miller has been option to triple A. Michael Grove is also going to be optioned. Joe Kelly is being activated. So that's the big story. Now Gavin Stone is unlikely to pitch again this year. So okay, let's rehab the conversation because that's major. That's major because Gavin Stone for a long stretches this year, for long stretches this year was the Dodgers most reliable pitcher. And if he's not bouncing back well and that shoulder is causing him issues, then it doesn't seem like there's going to be any chance that we're going to see him back for the Dodgers this year. And if that's the case, well, that immediately bumps everyone up and you definitely need more from Walker Bueller. You need this start tonight for land and act. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. I mean, it's definitely disappointing. It's definitely disappointing. Opportunity knocks for another Dodgers pitcher, but what is your reaction to Gavin Stone not going? He's very unlikely to pitch again this season. We got nope. Stone is out. Surprise. Another Dodgers pitcher down the shoot. That's from Johnny Owen. Ugg Stone would have helped. Elgardo Henrique has time from David M.M. Jason Diamond. This team is done. The season's over from Eric. What about conspiracy? Hey, man, I'm not a, a conspiracy theorist, but I definitely think he should get an opportunity going to get stoned in his honor from Jose Aguirre. We're still good. Don't worry. We're still good. Get that almost Dodger dog. Those vibes are like the everything's fine dog with the, with the, with the cup right there. But yeah, I mean, we look at it. Basically, you need one of Bueller and Clay and Kershaw to help you this point around. At this point, they're in desperate mode when it comes to it looked like at one point this season, we were going to see Bueller and Kershaw. No, no, those longtime Dodgers are going to have to factor in heavily for this team to make a deeper run. They have to be able to handle bulk innings, starts with short leash. We're not getting chased completely. And then you have Tony Gonslin affecting this whole thing as well. So this is not just a, oh, it'd be great if these guys came back. It's a, oh, they need these guys back for them to have any chance because you really need to get through the NLDS and the NLCS is, is tough because games three through five are all bunched up together, right? And a lot of times when you're already at game four, you've already used a lot of relievers game three as well. You've used a lot of relievers and high leverage spots. Yes, you're going to get those days in between after the games one and two and three and four, but there's a lot of pressure to be able to cover those innings in game four. So look, honestly, if, if Landonak pitches well tonight and he looks the part, I think that Landonak Clayton Kershaw in a piggyback role is something that we need to see. A righty a lefty. That's something I think we need to see. And it's just, it's tough. It's tough. I mean, it always feels like a season of squid game. Who we got in the rotation now? I said a couple of weeks ago, I don't want to see it where it's Yamamoto game one, Flaherty game two, Hope game three, and then pray for game four, right? We don't want to see that. But yeah, I mean, bottom line, good news, Kershaw, bad news stone. And yeah, we'll see what happens with the cat man. That's something that is going to be big as well. I mean, to be honest, is anyone out? Is anyone actually surprised with the way the season's gone, with the way these injuries have piled up? Is anyone surprised in the least bit? Let me know. Nope stone is out. We got to, I hate this team. That's a lot. Get the knack. That's for monster. We got seasons over. We lost our whole staff. Yeah, if you look at the injured list, man, it is, it's insane. When you look at how many dodges pitchers are on the aisle at this point, you lost your whole starting rotation from the beginning of the year with the exception of Yamamoto making his way back there. Someone better sack up in this rotation. That's the mindset. It's got to be next man up. We get a surge. Joe sounds. We have one win in the past two postseason runs. That number might remain the same. Nendo 390. Frazier got paid and closed out a Tony Roma's. Okay. What up DMAC? What's up, Max Coon? We got the G. Casillas. Knock knock. Who is it? It's Trevor Bauer. Don't think that's going to happen. Connor Brogdon is the eligible DMAC. He's been out for most of this season. Tabari news about stone just sucked the life out of me. Mike Saldana Gavin stone news hits really hard. That's really bad news. Baseball gods hate us this season. I wonder why. Yeah, for sure. Anyway, I'm going to dedicate a whole show of the pitcher injuries, for sure. But that's the news right now. Gavin Stone, unlikely to pitch for the rest of the year. And it definitely puts more pressure on Kersh on Bueller. Now, Tony Gauntland, it's not some luxury. You almost need it back in. Hey, landed NAC. Let's hope he has a much better start because he has a big opportunity tonight to secure it, for sure. Get close to it, at least, if you pitch as well. No doubt. By the way, if you haven't yet, be sure to subscribe to Dodger's Nation YouTube channel, the number one Dodgers YouTube channel in the game. Hit the subscribe button. Hit the notification bell. Hit the like button. If you really want to support the channel, we're going to be back after the game to break it down. Yeah, I see people out there. You're saying we're cooked. Got to serve this team because they're cooked. People talk about Dodgers trainer Thomas Albert, talking about a lot of things. But yeah, I mean, right now, Yamamoto, Flaherty and Bueller, I think those are your top three starters. NAC, Kersh, give me the piggyback in game four. Gauntland can be used as a bulk guy potentially later on. But yeah, that's definitely some tough, tough news. But we'll be back. We'll break it down more after the game. Guys, a couple more comments here. They have as good of a rotation as the 2023 Rangers. Hey, that's what I've been saying for the last couple of days. I mean, you definitely can make that case. The offense has to show up in the bullpen has to pitch well. And at the end of the day, they have a lot of guys in town in those positions. So don't write this team off. Don't make that mistake. Definitely don't make that mistake. This team still has enough right now. They're a little and a lot better say than they were last year. Ask yourself this question, which you think about the 2024 Dodgers versus the 2023 Dodgers, right? Major, major upgrade. Going from an injured Kersh to a Jack Flaherty, a rookie Bobby Miller hitting a wall to an elite potentially Yamamoto, right? A Lance Linder just gave up another home run to a Walker Bueller who's starting to figure it out. So they're in better shape than they were. It's just tough right now. So it's definitely something to take some processing for sure. Where's all the tortoise DMAG? Gotta go. I haven't had lunch yet. Maybe I'll have one right now. Well, another pitcher be brought up with Joe Kelly. What up DMAG? What up Dodgers? Fam, love your DMAGs up. Jimmy over there. Are we cooked? No, no. We're not even in the microwave yet guys. I mean, let's, let's pump the brakes. See how the season ends. Let's see how Bueller looks. Let's see how Knack looks tonight. So yeah, it's it's not over yet. Some bad news. You're used to this point. You're probably numb to it at this point for sure. But we'll be back after tonight's game to break it all down. My name is Doug McCain.
