Some Trevor Sycamote with me as always is Connor Rogers. Let's ring the bell. (upbeat music) Welcome to the opening bell of the NFL Stock Exchange Podcast. I'm Trevor Sycamote, this is Connor Rogers. On a very exciting second episode of the week and we're switching up a little bit. We want the second episode to be about the NFL. You know, sometimes we give you guys a little bit of an update on the draft order. You know, we pick a couple of players, maybe rookies in the NFL, but today, we have a very special episode. We are updating the team needs for you guys early on in the season. Hands up, it's early, it's early. Don't hold it against us. But we think it would be a very fun conversation because of course this is a draft podcast and we're always looking to the future. Connor, how you doing, name a friend? - I'm good, man. This is a good exercise because it's gonna help a lot when we do mock drafts monthly. This, you know, obviously throughout the entire year and then draft season where sometimes it's more than monthly. If you've been listening long enough, you guys have been around for mock draft Mondays and guest mock, so this helps set a foundation. And like you said, Trevor, a lot can change. Unfortunately, it's a league where serious injuries alter needs, you know, pending free agents that the good news is could sign extensions in the middle of the year. And then you also just have guys step up at positions that you didn't have huge expectations for, that you might feel good about going into next year. But this is a really good baseline to just kind of look at a couple of different groups for each team. - Yeah, it's, it's, the criteria is a little bit different. And I tried to take a good amount of things into account here, you know, pending free agents like you mentioned, how guys are playing in the early parts of the season, who this, who the team drafted the previous season 'cause that 'cause sometimes it'll affect it where it's like, hey, we already sort of drafted this guy, even if maybe we haven't seen the play yet. So we take all that stuff into account. And the way that we're gonna do this is, I have three team needs for every single team that we're gonna go through. Connor's got two, the reason why I have three is, it's hard to kind of come up with a third need 'cause of how early it is for a lot of teams. - That's what happened to me a lot. - I did this because I wanted to take these team needs and put them into the PFF mock draft simulator. So this is my message to the addicts here as you are watching this podcast. This is your call to arms, if you will. We talk about on this show that we want it to be a community, that you guys, what you say in the comments and everything can have an impact on what we talk about. Well, now you can have an impact on the mock draft simulator that you guys know and love so much over at PFF because the comments that you guys give for your team of, hey, what you think their biggest team needs are gonna be come 2025, we will read them. I will consider them. And that could make their way into what we see the team needs be established with in the mock draft simulator, how the mock draft simulator runs. So this is just for you guys as well. You know, you guys are involved in this process of what could be the mock draft simulator 'cause we can watch as much football as we possibly try to do, but you guys sometimes know your team's better than we do. So let us know after you listen to this podcast, after you listen to what we have to say about your team, tell us what you think the biggest team needs are gonna be for your team in the 2025 NFL draft. So we'll start, we'll go by division 'cause I think that's a pretty easy way to do it. Connor, we'll start with the softball for you here. We'll start with the AFC East and I'll start with the team very near and dear to your heart. So when you look at the New York Jets, we'll start with the New York Jets. Give me the team needs here for you. What do you got? So for me, this one could be labeled as, you know, two broad groups on offense, pass catcher. We know they were looking at Brock Bowers and the receivers in the draft last year and they've been able to make this work because they got Mike Williams on a one year deal. Lazards had a good bounce back, but realistically they're gonna be looking for, and I know they took Malcott Corley last year. Corley, who hasn't really been on the field, is still in that gadget guy phase. I'm talking about a legitimate, if Mike Williams walked or even tied in, Tyler Conklin's a pending free agent. So just another pass catcher that can bring some balance to this offense outside of Garrett Wilson and Breeze Hall. And then on defense, it's defensive back, which is a funny thing to write, but it's true. DJ Reid's a pending free agent. I know they like both Brandon Eccles, who's also a free agent, but also Qantez Stiggers, who they think they could develop at corner. But I put DB 'cause Chuck Clark is on a one year deal. Tony Adams has been very up and down. Safety is definitely a team need. So pass catcher and defensive back to broad needs for the New York Jets. Yeah, I agree with you. My three team needs that I have for 2025 for the New York Jets, of course, early team needs. Wide receiver and tight end are the first two that I wrote down. And then corner back is the third. So those are my three. You mentioned it. Mike Williams, pending free agent, Tyler Conklin, pending free agent. I also looked up Allen Lazard's contract. Not that they have to move on from him, but all of the guaranteed money is off of his deal after this year. So you get a little bit more flexible with what you could potentially do with Allen Lazard if he is not living up to how much that you are paying him. I think that it's gonna be a big year for them to go into this offseason and say, "Hey, we're not gonna settle "'cause we think we got Rodgers for at least one more year, "but it's one more year. "So they gotta gotta go all in." And then corner back you mentioned with DJ Reid being a pending free agent. If he can't bring him back, sure, maybe you like some guys that you have in the depth, but this is one of the best CB2s in the NFL. And so not having that player, it's hard to just be like, oh yeah, a young guy's gonna take his place. So I think you gotta take a serious look at that one. So wide receiver tight end corner back there for the New York Jets. What about the New England Patriots here? Let's do the Patriots next. What are your big team needs when you look at the Patriots for next year? Offensive line and wide receiver. One of the easiest ones to do, this has been a patchwork offensive line. And they need a franchise tackle in my opinion. And then I like Jalen Polk. I think he's gonna end up being a nice player for this team, but it feels like they need a real alpha wide receiver that they could funnel the offense through. So New England to me, it's all about setting up Drake May for success. Their two needs coincide with that. I was very torn on this one for the Patriots. Offensive line we totally agree with. I think offensive guard and offensive tackle, those are the first two needs that I have there. The reason why I think we have not seen Drake May as much already is because the team knows there's no point in putting him out there behind this offensive line. And it's, you know, wholesale issues with the offensive line. Like even Mike and Waynew has been up and down. Kade Wallace, Kade Wallace, rookie. He's already played. Leighton Robinson, he's already starting. So you're already starting some young guys in there. David Andrews, they're, you know, they're a long time veteran center. Like even he has not had a great year. So just really wholesale offensive line, those are the two big needs for me. So I put guard and tackle, but you could throw center in there as well, depending on how long you think David Andrews is going to play for you. And then the part where I was torn. And since you put wide receiver, we'll go wide receiver. I'll go wide receiver as that third need that we'll put in the mock draft simulator. I went that our corner, right? Because you got to stud in Christian Gonzalez. But Jonathan Jones is a pending free agent. Are you going to bring him back? Maybe you do, maybe you don't. If they bring him back, obviously, then they're okay at corner. Wide receiver, you got your own Polk, you got Pop Douglas, you got your Von Baker. I think those guys are going to get better as time goes on, but you are right. They're missing like that guy. Ideally, you would love for Polk to be your wide receiver too. You'd want one Douglas or Baker to be your wide receiver three, right? So we'll go, we can go with office. We can go with wide receiver there for the, for the third need for the Patriots. Just because I thought it was a little bit of a, up in the air decision. What about the Buffalo Bills? What about the Bills here? What do we got for the Bills? Is there potential team needs for next year? Bills are a little trickier because there's a couple of things. One, they're so well-coached on defense that they often mask their deficiencies and then they have Superman at quarterback that he often masks their offensive deficiencies. Right. So they're very fascinating when, you know, I would understand if we say one thing, like someone else is like, "Actually, I think this thing." That happens with teams that are get elevated by odd variables. And the Bills happen to be one of those teams on both sides of the ball. For me, and I know he's had a bounce-back year, but as Von Miller gets older, I think they need another true pass rusher. They have good players up front, don't get me wrong. It's just that the Bills are a team that expects to be competing for a Super Bowl every year, which means you're winning a lot of games, which means you're in a, you know, pass rush script very often as a defense or shoot-out script and you need to get after the Patrick Mahomes of the world. So you need a lot of pass rushers that have success. So finding a guy for the future, future like true pass rush specialists came up for me. And then another wider receiver. They're doing the committee wide receiver thing right now, Khalil Shakur, I know he's your guy Trevor, like he's stepped up big time this year. Right. Jan Coleman has been up and down as expected. It's okay. But I feel like they need another wide receiver, whether that's a true number one or another guy for this committee where if they trotted out of receiver taking in the first two rounds, Kian Coleman and Khalil Shakur as they're three, you'd feel good about that. So that's how I landed on those two needs. Yeah, so for my three needs that I had for this team, wide receivers, one of them definitely. I thought about the defensive line. I landed on defensive interior as the bigger need that they might address this off season. Obviously you have Von Miller, you don't know much how much longer he's gonna play. Greg Russo has been great for them. Yes, he has. He's, excuse me, he's a pending free agent in 2026. But I don't think they're gonna, I think they're gonna get an extension done with him. He's one of their home guys. He's gonna stick around. But then Dequan Jones and AJ Appanesa, both of those guys pending free agents, not this off season, but the next one as well. Are you gonna get it? I think, I think if anything, they're probably gonna try to get ahead of the curve there. Maybe get another really good interior player. I could be wrong. We'd love to hear from Bill's fans when you think about this defensive line. Where does your mind go first with additions? I landed on defensive interior sort of because of that. Wide receiver I have on here as well. And it's sort of hard to even have wide receiver on here. Like you mentioned, just because of how well they have been playing, how well Josh Allen is playing. It's clearly working for them. But I think long term, they might still be looking at a wide receiver need. And then corner actually was my third need there for them. Christian Ben, Christian Benford's playing really well. 81.6 overall grade this season. But Rasul Douglas, he's gonna be 30 years old. He's a pending free agent. It's such a good find for them, by the way. Right, no, 100%. And it's like he's getting up there in age. Corner is one of the positions where the older you get sometimes the steeper and quicker the drop off can be. Yep. And with him being a free agent, are you comfortable just being like, "Yeah, we'll re-sign him for another two year deal "and we're cool with it. We'll run it back." Because, you know, they got Kyrie or Elon. They have a couple of other guys as well for outside CB. But I just feel outside corner could be a potential 2025 beat for them as well. Last team, Miami Dolphins in the AFC East. What do you got for the Dolphins? I put offensive line down as a larger group. I just, not to be harsh, but I hated this offensive line going into the season. It's for all the good this team does roster building wise. And I liked Mike McDaniel more than most. I never thought, I never understood how they thought this would work, this group, and then I put quarterback with a question mark because we just don't know. We don't know. Like, if Toa resumes playing, here's the weird thing. Say Toa does resume playing. Is quarterback still not a need? I'm saying draft one in the first round, but do you take a developmental guy in the third round? Or the second round? I think this is an excellent class for the Dolphins quarterback situation specifically. Right, right, right. And I also have quarterback on here. You know who fits well in that offense? Go ahead. That I still think is a second to third round, like a day two player and I know everybody will kill you. If you say this, should there are Sanders? Oh, I don't think he is, he fits the offense in terms of what he's good at compared to where they should draft one. I don't think it, but he could go in the first round. So who knows? This is just an interesting September talking point. Certainly it's behind an offensive line if they don't make a lot of changes to the offensive line. Yes, that's- He knows how to operate that part. Yeah, that part is not good. Either way, not to take this a totally different direction. That's what I wrote down, Trevor. Offensive line across the board and then quarterback with a question mark because there's a lot going on there. No, those are my three as well. I have quarterback. I have quarterback is one of them. I have offensive guard and then I have offensive tackle. I think because even beyond Toa, you know, even if Toa, like you said, even if Toa comes back, how much faith do you have in this situation exactly? So, you know, I think quarterback's gotta be on the board for them. Lee and Mike, Lee and Mike and Berg struggled throughout his career. Now he's at guard. He is better. His first two games were better, but he's still struggling. And then it often's a tackle. Toronto arm says hurt again. Austin Jackson's struggling outside of that first game where he played well. The last two games he has not played well. So, I think offensive tackle and offensive guards are big ones there. So, moving on to the AFC North. Let's start with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Three and O Pittsburgh Steelers, I should say. Gotta give them their respect here. What do you think for the Pittsburgh Steelers here? What do you see that needs us? - The Steelers for me, it's weird because they've invested a lot in it. And I'm not ready to say this is the number one need right now, but you can discuss corner if Broderick Jones doesn't improve. Now, wait, corner? Sorry, tackle. Okay, my brain is reading one thing and I'm talking about offensive line. Whoa, talking about. - We switch into, we switch in size of the ball and he's either, you see Broderick Jones, Broderick Island. Nobody wants to come across that. Nobody wants to come across that. - You got a one-way trip to Broderick Island. - Yeah, you want to find yourself on Broderick Island. - No, this defense is stupid good. And ironically, I guess maybe you could say that, you know, corner could be a need for them down the road, but I think this offensive line, I love the two players they drafted, but it feels like, and I'm not giving up on Broderick, let me make that clear. - Yeah. - But you could argue maybe they'll need another offensive lineman in the offseason, but to me, the most interesting talking point with them is quarterback because fields has been fine for them. They have him in this game manager with rushing upside roll, which is very interesting. Like really, they don't ask him to do a ton, but he's commanding the offense in a way that we haven't seen him do throughout his career. He serves credit for that. - Yeah. - Like crossroads, does fields just do this all year? And you're like, you know what? We'll pay Justin Fields if we kind of meet in the middle, we're not gonna pay him the next number one quarterback contract. And then we're gonna roll forward 'cause we think we can win this way. But if they hit a, if they plateau at some point this year this way offensively, or even if they don't, if they give fields some kind of deal and they take one and day two, the Steelers were a weird team. And then I guess the most pressing one, 'cause those were ones I felt lightly about. So I wrote two, light and then like one real one. This team needs another wide receiver. I mean, they need another wide receiver. That was the one I wrote in Ink where I was like, this is the one I care the most about. - Yeah, the three that I have on here is often to tackle, you mentioned Project Jones, you know, the draft Troy Faltano, but you know, Dan Moore Jr. is also in the last year of his contract. - Exactly. - We weren't sure if you, I think the plan that they wanted was Project Jones and Troy Faltano playing this year and then being like, okay, well we don't have to bring Dan Moore Jr. back. And now that Faltano is gonna miss most of the year with that dislocated kneecap injury. Who knows, especially with Project, not playing very well at all. So I think that's on there. Wide receiver I also have on here. Sort of depends on what Roman Wilson is like when he comes back, right? When he gets in the lineup, 'cause he's been banged up too. But right now it's just the George Pickens Show. All due respect to Calvin Austin, who has had a couple of really nice plays. But I don't think that having Calvin Austin is gonna prohibit you from really looking to upgrade wide receiver as well. So it sort of depends on Roman Wilson. The other one for me was, honestly the third need, it was off ball linebacker, just because Patrick Queen's not playing super well. You draft Peyton Wilson, but I think that they could be looking at off ball linebacker as another addition. We will see, I know they signed Patrick Queen to the deal, so maybe not, but when I looked at quarterback, I went, it feels keeps playing, it's early, I understand. But it feels keeps playing the way that he has played through the first three games. They're not gonna draft quarterback. They're gonna resize Justin Fields to a decently sized three-year contract, because I'll tell you this, if Fields keeps playing this way, the defense is too good. They're gonna win enough games to where they're not gonna have like a top pick at a quarterback. And at that point, they're probably gonna bring that guy back anyways. The Steelers right, I mean, they just like Fields. - Right, right, so I don't have quarterback. - Yeah, that's why I wrote a question mark next to it. I was like, give me a month, and this might just be completely off the board. - Baltimore Ravens, what do you think about the Ravens with their team needs? - I wrote down offensive line and wide receiver. Now, I know they're trying to figure this offensive line out as the years went on. I think Fileté is really struggled. I think they still have needs on the offensive line. You kind of, me personally, and I know he got hurt, but he's still really good. It's kind of weird that they just gave Morgan Moses away. I didn't really fully understand that. - Yeah, it's not like the Jets traded for Morgan Moses, and they needed to give him a new deal or anything. They just got him essentially almost for free, and you just get yourself a damn good right tackle that makes Morgan Moses makes $5.5 million this year. So, I still think offensive line is a need for them. I'm looking on the right side of that offensive line, and then I wrote down wide receiver again. But this is like smashing your head against the wall at this point, like people do eagles and linebacker. We say it all the time. And I guess they took Bateman in the first round, they took Zafelowers in the first round, but it just feels like this team always needs another wide receiver. So, yeah, right side of the offensive line and wide receiver for me. - My top two needs for this team are offense attack on offensive guard, so I definitely agree with you there. You look at Ronnie Stanley, he'll be 31 next offseason, and he will be a free agent. He's already suffered big injuries as well, so who knows if they're gonna want to give him a lot of money to come back being over at the age of 30. You draft Roger Rosengarden, so okay, in theory, he's in the wings, but Patrick McCarry, kind of to your point at right tackle, he's yielded the most pressures on the team with nine and the highest pressure percentage on the team with him playing at right tackle, so it's not going well there. Guard play has been subpar between Andrew Voorhees and Daniel Filetle, you got a little bit of time, but just the offensive line as a whole outside of Tyler Linderbaum, and then Stanley's been good, but are you gonna pay a lot of money to bring him back? I don't know, so offensive line looks like major needs for this team. And then the third need that I had, I thought about wide receiver, Ed Druscher, kind of a sneaky need for me. I asked Gordon McGinnis about this, who is our director of content, he's a Ravens guy, I was like, "Hey, do you have any like real feelings "about some team needs?" And he's like, he actually brought up a good point, he's like, "Ed Druscher's kind of a sneaky need "for this team because you look at it on paper "and they're fine for now, "but Oda Faoa is going into the fifth year "of his rookie contract. "David Ojabo still, after those injuries, "has not really solidified himself." He's like, "Okay, we're good with Oda Faoa here." And then Kyle Van Nooy's gonna be 33 years old. So, Ed Druscher, could be a sneaky need here. - That's a good call out. - For this team. What about the Cincinnati Bengals? - I just wrote down front seven for the Bengals. I wrote down front seven, like they just, I think they gotta get more stout in the front seven. Isn't Trey Hendrickson on the last year of his deal? - He wanted a new deal. - I know he did. - And he was right to want a new deal because he's underpaid. So he has one more year left on his deal. He's not playing on that deal next year. - He's not. - His cap number goes down to 18.6 million. And if they cut him, they only owe 2.6 of dead money. So he is so severely under, and he's gonna be 31 next year, so he's gonna want the new deal. - He's gonna hold out. - Yeah. - And so he's gonna hold out. Even if they solve that, that doesn't mean they don't need more help up front. So, I think the Bengals, I just wrote down front seven. - I don't really dislike their linebackers that much, but at least they're front four to me. They need a front four player. - I think the linebackers, they're all right. You're all right. - I like Logan Wilson a lot. - Logan Wilson's great. I think Jermaine Pratt's a really, really good physical player. Akim Davis-Gather is a free agent coming up. So at least you think about that. But yeah, to me, I wrote down defensive interior and edge rusher as well, because certainly this team cannot defend the run right now with DJ Reader no longer on the team. They have Chris Jenkins, but he's only played 23 snaps this season. So Chris Jenkins, I think it's gonna be part of the defensive line plans moving forward, but it feels like you need more than him at this point. Plus, I think BJ, yeah, BJ Hill is a free agent. This upcoming free agency period. And so you're already looking for upgrades. They are Sam Hubbard's not having a great start to the year. Joseph Osai is an upcoming free agent and he is not creating well either. So just defensive line overall. I think this team has to get, they have to really seriously look at helping Trey Henderson out as well as paying him too, even with him being 31 years old. The other one for me, the third need that I have is wide receiver, right? Jamar Chase. - That's a good call. - Still looking for an extension. T Higgins is up after this year, and Jermaine Burton does not see the field. I like Andrei Yoshivas, and like I think that he's been a really good player for them, but you're just saying he won't replace T Higgins. That's fair. - If T Higgins and Jamar Chase, one of those guys is not on this team next year, we saw what it was like early in the year when it's just one of those guys. This offense needs two studs to operate. Like it's what this passing attack is built around it. Maybe they have changes in the coaching staff if things continue to not go well anyways, but I think wide receiver is the third need for this team because they've definitely got to keep an eye on it. - Great call out by you, and I agree, especially if they feel like Burton doesn't mature the way he needs to this offseason. 'Cause we know how talented he is, and we set all this during the draft, folks, and it all happened this summer. You saw amazing plays. You also read stories of some weird things going on, of just overall lack of focus at times. - Yep. - Jackson Ojaguars. - Did we do the Browns? - Oh, we didn't do the Browns. I'm sorry, yeah, Cleveland Browns, we got one more team. - Sorry, we got to do the Browns. - We do have to do the Browns. - Boy, there you will need a quarterback 'cause-- - I was gonna say-- - Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance. - Dance, dance, dance. - Dance, dance. - He stinks. So there you go, quarterback with, you know, absolute bullet and ink, that's an easy one. You know what really snuck up on me with this team? 'Cause I had the Browns as a playoff team this year in my head, I don't, me too, you know. This offensive line got, you know, old and banged up real quick. - Really? - You kind of blinked in your, I just always, always was like, oh, the Browns offensive line. Like this group's awesome year after year. But the reality is like they're gonna need some new pieces on this group as well, specifically at right tackle probably. But yeah, the Browns for me, it was quarterback and offensive line for sure. I think this defense is really good. They have talent at skill groups, but they, you can't win a lot of football games when you have questions on the offensive line and under center. And the Browns have questions at both right now. - No, there's, there's no question. - I believe that the Giants by the way. - My number one need for this team is quarterback. And I don't care what Deshawn Watts' contract is. Like he's bad. - He's, he's, he's uncompetitive is what he is. - That's a really good word to describe it. He is 22nd in PFF passing grade amongst the 32 starters. And he has the 32nd overall EPA per pass numbers. - And he's not a threat as a runner like he used to be. - No, and he's not a threat deep down the field either. It feels like his arm is shot, man. - So I mean, he looks like a guy that all these injuries we read about him all the time, shoulders and stuff. Like they never had a big frame to begin with. It's caught up to him. And if you watch the Giants game, they couldn't block and he holds the ball forever and he doesn't have the athleticism that he wants had to just make something out of nothing all the time. And it's caught up to the, this franchise. It's, it's ugly. Let's call it what it is. - Offensive tackle also a major need for this team. Jack Conklin's dealing with injuries right now. Judrick Will has made his return from rehab in his knee this past week, but did not look great. He's also, he also really struggled last year as well. Duwan Jones at right tackle this past week. I mean, Brian Burns just cooking. Brian Burns happened at Duwan Jones. - He just can't move, man. He's just big. And once NFL defensive lineman figured out, all I have to do is attack the outside shoulder from the wide alignment. He cannot get there. He cannot kick slide there. - It was funny his, his rookie season that summer and early on everybody was like, how did they let this guy fall in the draft? And now this year it's like, they don't want to play Duwan Jones. It's just funny how the, you know, the narrative's really. So I think offensive tackle is a big need for them. And then my last need for this team is running back, right? I don't think they have any juice at running back right now. They're waiting for Nick Chubb to hopefully come back, but he's coming back from that horrific knee injury that he suffered in week two. Last year we tore a bunch of different ligaments. So it's going to be a long road back anyways. Plus Nick Chubb is a pending free agent this off season as well. So it's not like he got like multiple years for him to kind of stash it and see how it goes. So running back, I think is a unit for this team too. Now we'll go to Jacksonville, the AFC South. What do you have for the Jaguars to kick this division off? - They need a new quarterback. No, I'm just kidding. - Jeez. - I'm just kidding. - Jeez. - I'm trying to feed our family with the use we're going to get for saying that. - I think Trevor Lawrence is going to be okay, but it's obviously, it's been tough, but they have a lot, a lot of problems. I wrote defender, like non-edge defenders is how I wrote this down. I looked at Jacksonville's defense and said, you can go kind of down the line and argue for position groups that aren't pass-rushers pretty easily, right? I mean, Trayvon Walker is the trajectory's gone up with him. They obviously have Josh Allen, who's a beast. You look at the middle of the field, you look at their non-Tyson Campbell corners. You'll get like safety, strong safety, defensive tackle. I can make an argument for any of these and I would go best player available in that spot. But the problem is they have needs on the offensive line. - Right. - What did you land on specifically? 'Cause I looked at this roster and I was like, ah, they're gonna be honest, they need a lot right now. - So I understand what you're saying with defense. I think that there's a lack of depth with this team, like guys that you really get excited about. 'Cause Trevor Lawrence Walker, I still think he's talented. Unfortunately, it's taken him a while to figure it out. Josh Allen's awesome, or Joshua Heinz Allen, I should say, is awesome. I like Devin Lloyd, Devin Lloyd's gonna be fine. I think the young linebackers are okay in the middle. Tyson Campbell is a stud, but you mentioned cornerback is one of the needs that I have for this team, because opposite Tyson Campbell, I think you need somebody there and you gotta be able to upgrade that other side of the ball. Safety is I think you're okay, but Andrei Cisco is a free agent, so it's just something that you gotta keep in mind. For me though, the three positions I have is cornerback was the one I went to on the defense side of the ball. And then you mentioned offensive line, man. For way too long, I feel like we have gone into a season and we've looked at the Jags offensive line and opinions are so split between them. Yeah, they're gonna be fine. Oh my gosh, they're gonna be terrible. And it's just, there's never been this consensus that even that they've been good, even amongst the changes that they've had. So to me, it's offensive tackle and it's offensive guard because left tackle Cam Robinson is a free agent coming up this offseason. He is tied in the NFL right now for most pressures allowed through three games and is at 13. Brandon Sheriff, their veteran of offensive guard, also a free agent coming up, but like Anton Harrison as well, who I know we're still giving him time and everything, but he has struggled too. Offensive line is the number one priority for this team in my opinion. You've got to be able to pick a starter somewhere preferably at offensive tackle, so you don't have to deal with Cam Robinson anymore. 'Cause I don't think they're going to bring him back. I was kind of shocked that when they brought him back, if I remember correctly in my shoes, but offensive line to me, offensive guard, offensive tackle and then cornerback for this Jags team, to me that number one priority is making the offensive line better. Houston Texans, we get for the Texans. - For the Texans, I had defensive tackle and offensive guard. I think that-- - I had this as well. - Yeah, there we go. I think that Canyon Green hasn't really played the way they hoped, in my opinion. - And he's a free agent coming up. - Wow, that went fast. - Yeah, it goes so quick, it's crazy. - So, you know, and what's Shaq Mason's contract, actually? - I think he has two more years left on the deal, but he's 32, 31. - So he has, he does have two more years left on the deal, and he's 30 void money, interesting. - Okay, either way, yeah, I felt very strongly about guard and defensive tackle, because they've really sprinkled in talent throughout this roster, especially at corner, wide receiver, they got a great quarterback, they paid Joe Mixon, but those are the two holes I thought were pretty obvious. I was mistaken, by the way, Canyon Green has-- - Uh, two years left, because of the fifth year option. - Yes, this year, and then he has the next year as well, and then it could be the fifth year option. I think they-- - I don't think they picked that up. - Yeah, I don't think they did either. - Texas fans, I would love to know if they completely disagree with me. With them, as I've kept up with Canyon Green over the years, he has not lived up to the status of a first round guard. - Right, I know it's also been heard a lot, which stinks. - Right, but that's also why Shaq Mason's sort of age, and then Canyon Green, and both of those guys being a little bit disappointed to start this season. I put offensive guard on here as well. Interior defensive line. I definitely agree with you. The top-grade interior defensive lineman on the team right now is Tim Settle, who has a 64.3 overall grade. Foley Fuducasi is also a free agent coming up this upcoming year, so continuing to invest in the defensive line to make that really stout, after getting some really good Ed Drushers and Daniel Hunter, and obviously Will Anderson Jr. as well. They're gonna wanna keep that unit a strength of the team, so look for them to look at the Interior defensive line class in 2025. Maybe Will Mason Graham? Let me be terrifying if they're able to do something like that, but kind of would love to see it as a sicko. Running back is the other one that I mentioned is the third need on this team. It's a really good team. They got a lot of stuff coming together, and so a third need was actually pretty hard when you look at this stuff on paper. I understand that Joe Nixon did just sign a three-year deal with him, but Joe's got a lot of mileage on his career, and they're utilizing him however they can, and they don't really have anybody next. I love Damien Pierce, but it just doesn't feel like they are super passionate about him as their RB2 on this team. And the point I'm trying to make is, this is a really damn good running back class. So this is the opportunity for them to get one in the building, be in a rotation with Nixon next year, and then whether or not you're keeping Nixon for that third year, or you're going to whoever the young guy is, I think it's a really good transition for him. - I completely agree. It's a good call out on running back. - Any apples, colts? - So for the colts, I landed on corner and center. Which is interesting because Ryan Kelly has been a mainstay of this team for a really, really long time, but he's 31 years old now, and he's on the last year of a contract extension. He signed in 2020, can you believe that? - Wow, lock them up. - Now this is one, listen, you're listening to a needs show in September. Maybe he comes back, maybe, who knows? But as it sat here, one need I was projecting was center, that'll kind of surprise you. - I don't hate that. The third need for this team was a little bit tricky because they are young, and there's a lot of areas where I think that there's promise for this team. Corner is the one that I also agreed with. Juju brands, they wanted him to be a starting outside corner. He's missing the whole year with a knee injury. I think Jalen Jones is solid, even with the tweet that I got roasted for. - There was number 40. - 'Cause I said he wears number 40, and then he got two interceptions. But I do think he's solid, but I don't think like having Jalen Jones is keeping you from-- - They need a guy, Trevor. That's what you're like, they need a guy at corner. - Yes, that's basically what I'm saying here. And you'd like for Jones to be a depth piece for you to be able to rotate in a three man outside corner back rotation if you get another really good one. tight end, I also have his need for this team. Mo Ali Cox, Kyle and Granson, both of those guys are pending free agents. You have Jalani Woods as well, but I wonder if they dip into this pretty dang good tight end class, or at least it looks like it for 2025 could be in the cards for them. Center's interesting with Kelly. Certainly what happens with him and his outlook could mean a lot as a starting spot along the offensive line. But I also, I went off ball linebacker as the third need. Zaire Franklin signed the three year extension for them, but EJ speeds a free agent. So obviously don't check Leonard anymore. So I think that off ball linebacker maybe could be a sneaky depth need for this team and for the Colts. Last team in this division is the Tennessee Titans. What do you got for the Titans? - For the Titans, I had Edge Pass rusher. They could use another one. I know they have Harold Landry coming off injury, but he's back. I really like the duo inside of Jeffrey Simmons and Tefanteri Sweat. So another Edge Pass rusher there. And then we'll let us has to play better. Our quarterback's gonna be in need. That's the only way I could say it. He just, he has to show improvement. He has to show he could take care of the football. And if he does, then this won't be in need. But as I'm sitting here today, if I was on the clock for the Titans, I would be considering looking at an improvement at quarterback. - Yeah, unfortunately I have quarterback on here as well. You know, in my article that I'm writing about this, I say that I'm still very much intrigued by Will Levis. And I'm also not a fan of benching Will Levis. So I was watching the game with some people last week and they're like, "Oh, you got to bench him." I'm like, "That's the last thing you should do." - Like what, for what? So you get to look at Mason Rudolph? - I'll do respect. - Like what, I just, I think people are like, "Oh man, you got to bench him for what he's doing." Why? You're already not a good football team. You might as well see what you have in Levis. Let him fail and if you get second half of the season, if he catches fire, boom, all of a sudden now you don't have to invest in a quarterback. I don't know, man. I think you'd be crazy to bench him. - I agree, that seems hard. - But quarterback is, obviously, it has to be on the need just 'cause Levis is, if he does not improve the turnover-worthy play style he's playing with right now, then you have to move on from. So that's why he's on the list. I have an offensive tackle on the list for this team. - Okay, got across from Latham. - Yeah, 'cause Nicholas Petit-Frer has not played well over the last three years. - No. - The low grades this year. It's okay, it's a little bit better than it was last year, but it's not what you want along the offensive line, certainly for a Bill Callahan staple unit. And so we'll see if Petit-Frer can improve as the season goes on, but as of right now, I would have offensive tackle as a need. And then another sneaky one for this team is wide receiver. Calvin Ridley signed the long-term deal last offseason, but DeAndre Hopkins is a free agent after this season. Tyler Boyd's a free agent after this season. And clearly they made moves because they didn't believe that Trailen Burks was that guy. - That's right. - So all of a sudden you could be, I mean, all of a sudden Calvin Ridley could be the Will Smith meme where he's just like looking around in an empty room and nobody's there when you get to the 2025 off season. So I think wide receiver is a need for this team as well. Hey, the best part of the football season, it's checking out the post game stats, right? Whether it's wide outs scoring however many TDs are QBs thrown for more or less than 500 yards. 500 yards would be a good one. 300 yards. Here's where we're going through the team needs, early team needs for all 32 teams in the NFL. Los Angeles Chargers. Let's start with the Jim Harbaugh Chargers here. What do you got? Defensive tackle and wide receiver. I like the improvement I've seen from Quentin Johnson this year. Lad McConkey can obviously play. Josh Palmer has been a solid player for them for a while, but it feels like they could really use one more guy that can maybe dominate targets on the outside. But defensive tackle was the number one thing that I thought they needed Trevor. Did you see it the same way? I did, that's the number one need that I wrote down for you to hear for this team. Puna Ford is playing well for the Chargers for a Jim Harbaugh DNA team. They're going to be deeper than that. They're going to want to be deeper than having one impactful interior defender. So I think that that's in there. Edge rusher, I also have in here, you bring back both Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa, but Bosa is hurt again with a hip injury, not getting any younger. Khalil Mack, he came back this past offseason, but he is still a pending free agent, this upcoming free agency. So, edge rusher could be an area of need for this team. I just think that overall defensive line is something that they've really got in a monitor here. They have 2E2 as well on the edge, so I know that they could like. But still, if you're replacing Bosa and Mack or even one of them, it's going to need an investment there. And then I understand wide receiver could definitely be wide receiver. This definitely in the conversation. But I have tight end, and tight end is the bigger need for this team, because again, a Jim Harbaugh led football team. I think they're going to want more emphasis from the tight end, either blocking or receiving or both. So they're going to want to upgrade from Hayden Hurst, who they have right now, will disly as well. He's the next tight end in there. I think they're going to be looking for that true tight end one on this team. Tyler Warren's a charger. Oh, man. Tyler Warren is such a charger. That's perfect. That's a really. By the way, Poona Ford's just going to be stopping the run on one year deals. Are you sure? Is somebody on a one year deal? Yeah, he was on a one year deal with the bills last year. He's on a one year deal with the chargers. I didn't realize that. He makes like $1.6 million and just-- Nah, they're bringing him back. Parks is big fire hydrant build in front of the, you know, in front of the offensive line, and says, "Okay, you're not going to run this way." You know he's 5'11, Poona Ford? He's such a king. He's such a short king. Can't even host a pot. But he can stop the hell out of the run. But he can stop the hell out of the run. There's no doubt about it. Denver Broncos is the next team I want to hit. What do you got for the Denver Broncos? A wide receiver and offensive tackle. I mean, they cut Tim Patrick. They said, "Okay, Bonix, you're going to throw to, you know, Cortland Sutton as a rookie this year." And some other guys, they need another wide receiver for Bonix. And I also thought offensive tackle because Mike MacGlenci is out for the year. And it's probably fine to tie, probably time to find your right tackle, the future. I wouldn't even hate the idea of them looking at a left garden center. But that was kind of how I broke it down. I think you just got to build it all around. But it's the same argument to me as the Patriots, the Broncos, the same exact thing. Yeah, you know, I don't have offensive tackle on here, but I could have very well. Because you mentioned the struggles that MacGlenci has had. Garrett Bolz is also a free agent in 2020. Ooh, sneaky. So I got to get that one done. That could definitely be on there. I came up with wide receiver and tight end as well. Like Greg Dulcich, I know he's coming back from injury, but he's low on the target share, receiving grades are very low this year. Have they really seen enough with him, even with Sean Payton not being the one to draft him? You know, so I think wide receiver and tight end are on this list. And then defensive interior as well. I think that Zach Allen's playing really well, having a nice start to the season, 18 pressures as one of their odd front defensive interior player, 17.4 pass or swing percentage, but could use another impactful interior defender there. So I had them on the list, but I think I probably switched that with offensive tackle from being honest, 'cause I like what you brought up there. What other Kansas-C Chiefs? Defend the chance. Back to back. What are they doing in 2025? Chiefs, I also had offensive tackle and corner. They fall into the Bills bracket of, you know, Mahomes elevates everything. I think they're really well coached on defense. So you can kind of overlook some of their needs. I just don't think they're good at offensive tackle. And I've felt this way for a while. And they just keep doing it over and over again because I guess they can. But I would prioritize getting a franchise guy in front of Patrick Mahomes. Was that your one either? You have two. No, I also said corner. Oh, corner corner is the other one. I think they're okay corner. They're okay. Offensive tackle though, I definitely agree with you. Like even with draft and Kingsley, Suomata, yeah. I think that they're always going to say like, "Hey, if we can upgrade it offensive tackle," clearly this is becoming a little bit of a theme for them over the last couple of years of struggling at that spot. And nobody wants to struggle at that spot for long. So- They take the same developmental guy every year. Yeah. Every year. They never like stick their foot in the ground. So we're gonna move up and get a franchise kind of guy. They just take the same developmental guy every single year. And the same, I mean, they win Super Bowl. So like, and you're right, they're a Super Bowl winning team. So me even saying corner, I know they have enough corners, but it's tough to find with the Chiefs. Maybe interior D-line. So that was my, so offensive tackle. I have tight end on here because I get the Travis Kelsey sign a two year deal, but maybe he doesn't play the two years. Maybe he only plays this year. 'Cause he doesn't look like the same player that he has for like the last couple of years. And he's somebody who- Oh, great disrespect. Okay. Is somebody who is that competitive as Travis Kelsey? Like, is he just gonna stick around like just because? I don't know. If he can't play at the level that he's used to, I feel like there's a chance that maybe he hangs it up. Well, he's got so many opportunities after football. Of course. They draft the Jerry Wiley, they've got no gray, but I don't think either of those Travis Kelsey replacements. So I think that's there. Oh, defensive line. Yeah, that was the third one that I brought up. And I think this is a sneaky one because I think people just think of Chris Jones and they go, oh yeah, they got Chris Jones. They're all good to go. Trishon Warden, Mike Penell, and Derek Naughty, all of them free agents coming up. Those are heavy rotational interior defensive line players for this team. And so I think that some combination of those guys will be back, but all of them, maybe not. So I do think that depth along defensive interior is gonna be something that the Chiefs are looking at in 2025. Last team here in this division in Las Vegas Raiders. So for the Raiders, quarterback very easy. And also corner. I think that those are my two top needs. Okay, yeah. I mean, what do we need to say about quarterback? They wanted a guy this year that didn't get one. They lost the game in musical chairs. Yup. You know, you have Jack Jones out there, a corner. It's-- Which I like Jack Jones, but damn, man. I don't know. Shopify is the global commerce platform that helps you sell at every stage of your business. Shopify is there to help you grow. [DING] Comments of Antonio Pierce and the film of him are just not participating in. That's what I'm saying. I think he's talking about Jack Jones when he said that your player is making his decisions. It's terrible. Jack Jones makes big plays. He also misses routine plays. So, yeah, corners in need for the Raiders. Last need that I had outside of those two is Interior Offensive Line, because outside of Colton Miller and Dylan Parham, this offensive line is just having a forgetful start to the season. So whether it's an Interior guy at like Center or Guard, like Parham can kind of play both. So I just have overall Interior Offensive Line editions because it's got to be a lot better in that area. Offensive tackle maybe as well, depends on their Munford, I guess. But Colton Miller's good. Dylan Parham's playing good outside of that. Not really sure. Let's go to the NFC East to start the NFC conference. Dallas Cowboys. What do you got there? Defensive tackle and wide receiver stood out to me. I was personally not the biggest fan of the Mazzi Smith pick, you know, whatever you think of his second year in the NFL. I think this team needs some beef in the middle. This front seven gets abused week in and week out at this point. It's, and I know Cowboys fans are rightfully really pissed about it. I mean, obviously you could say running back, but I just think wide receiver and detackle are much more important. And to go to show you, like a lot of Cowboys fans wanted Braylon Allen on day three last year. And they were right. So I think you can go find a running back on day three, but the other things are more premium needs to me. Yeah, interior defensive line is just first and foremost. You might as well just start pencil and shit in now for them. Like Mason Graham, like just Danielle Walker, like somebody. Like you just, you got a, you pick school interior defensive line. It's right down anything, right down. Any defensive tackles name and you win. That's essentially what the draft is going to come down to for the Dallas Cowboys. Their defensive interior has a 25.7 run defense grade as a team. You know, hard that is to do. Extremely difficult. You have to be so bad. Yes. To the thing, I mean, I know I'm really harsh about this, but it's the worst in the NFL. You can, you're allowed to be harsh on it. It's the worst in the NFL. Mazi Smith gets destroyed. The Baltimore tape was crazy. Not good. So interior defensive line, obviously, I think off-ball linebacker as well. That's another need that I had on here. Eric Kendrick's 32 years old. He's playing fine, but he's on a one year deal. DeMarvie and Overshone playing well as well, but like he's sort of that hybrid chess piece player. You would need a more traditional off-ball linebacker in order for Overshone to do a lot of different things for you. So I think off-ball linebacker is a big one for them. And I think tight end as well. Just needing an upgrade at the tight end position, finding a guy who can really be a consistent playmaker for you in the passing game. But running back actually probably could have been on there over tight end, if we're being honest. I just didn't think of it because I was looking at past catchers, but running back has to be very high on this team's needs list. New York Giants, what do you got for the Giants? Quarterback, wide receiver and corner. They need a starting quarterback. They need a number two wide receiver to play with Malik neighbors. They need a number two corner to play across from Deontay Banks. And it's the most obvious thing ever if you just watch three snaps of Giants football this year. Yeah, quarterback, obviously the big one. You have an opportunity to cut Dana Jones after this year. You've got an out. Or you could extend him. Sure, yeah, I mean, or you could extend him. Yeah, actually. It's up to you. Didn't think of that. You don't have to move on. Didn't think of that the first time, even. No, you don't have to move on as we've seen before. Um, I think they've invested enough picks at wide receiver where I don't think they're going to emphasize it. Yeah, they will. They're a weird one, right? Cause we know Malik neighbors is going to be a top five receiver in this league very soon. It's insane. And then you have Dari Slaton's been hanging around a while. Wandell Robinson finally looks okay this year. Yeah, he looks fine. They can't get Jalen high at going though. Like they just. And maybe some of that is the the offense and the quarterback. The offensive line's been a lot better this year. I don't know. I worry about if they just kind of ignore this group that neighbors starts to get that bracket treatment. And it's like, oh man, we. And I don't I don't love this. I really don't like this room after him. And I'm sure some people will argue back with that. I think it's very uninspiring room after neighbors. And to set up his success, I'd go get a bigger threat to play with him. Yeah, Giants fans would love to hear what you have to think of what the biggest needs on this team are after quarterback. Because I also wrote down offensive tackle. I know you have your main in Luminor for another year after this. But Evan, you signed your main in Luminor as sort of like insurance. Like, OK, if Evan Neal doesn't get better during the summer or in the early parts of like the late parts of training camp, then we'll start a Luminor. Luminor started every single game at right tackle. So clearly Evan Neal did not earn that job. So are you cool, which is riding with the Luminor? Or are you going to look for an offensive line upgrade? I think running back as well is a position to look at. Love Tyrone, Tracy. But are they going to continue? Like, if the Giants have the year that I think they're going to have, I think everybody's probably gone anyways. So how much of the running back room is going to still be around with whatever new coaching staff might come in. Yeah, single terrorism table got true and through right. Right. That's kind of what I'm thinking. Washington commanders. What about the commanders? Oh, line and corner, very cut and dry. Mando afforbs, busts. You know, obviously they get. We talk about this in the fantasy show all the time because it's fantasy and betting. If you just bet the props on the other team's number one wide receiver against the commanders every week, you would just be swimming in cash. It's going to hit you. And I'm talking like the over under of the receiving yards, you could do two touchdowns. You could do the alt lines. You just swim in cash. And then they need a better offensive line in front of Jane Daniels. But I want to give them a little credit. They've been better than I expected this year, this offensive line. Yeah, I also, I have, I have long term offensive tackle options as one of my needs here corner, major option for this team. It's crazy though that they're so bad at corner that you didn't even mention Ed Drescher, right? Like going into this point. It's a really important one. It's Cleel and Farrell, it's Dante Fowler. And it's not as like catastrophically bad as I thought it was going to be. I think they're, let me make sure I have this right. They're 26 in the NFL in pass rush grade, just the Ed Dreschers. And they're 21st in the NFL and like total pressures from just their Ed Dreschers. That at least. When effect, helping them. At least they're not 30 second and 30 second. No, I know, but you're spot on. They need Ed Shelp. But yeah, Ed Shelp is a big need for this team as well. Really Ed Drescher, and you can get by on offensive tackle. I think the two biggest needs on this team are Ed Drescher and cornerback. You have to get better before the 2025 season at those spots. If you're going to compete the way that Jayden Daniels is showing you that he can allow you to compete as a young stud quarterback in this league. Oh, it's the last team. Oh, I love Eagles. Eagles in this division. I'm very curious your thoughts on this one because I struggled here. I put edge pass rusher, which is probably frustrating to the Eagles because they just paid Bryce helpful a lot of money. Right. Josh Sweatt and they drafted Nolan Smith in the first round and they cannot get after the quarterback right now. So that's probably a frustrating one. Let's see how it plays out. Hopefully those guys can get going over a longer stretch of time. And then I put safety, I almost put safety, but re-blank and chip just made that game winning interception. And then in week one, didn't he have a that interception as well as I'm like, it's not about him. CJ Gardner Johnson is he on one year? I think he has one year. Yeah. He has one year after this that maybe, maybe you don't look into safety and I didn't end up writing down safety. Yeah, it's tricky. Because the gene can play safety for them as well. So that's why I struggled with this because if it de jeans, the answer at safety, then they need a corner in my opinion. Oh, okay. I mean, like we're just going to roll out Darius slight again next year. I love Queenie on Mitchell. This is nothing to do with Queenie on Mitchell. But if the gene is not playing corner, then they need a corner. If the gene is not playing safety, then I think they need a safety for the long term. They're a really good roster. So it's hard to find the answers. I will say Lane Johnson's heard again. At what point do you try to get ahead on his replacement? Yeah. I, so they have Fred Johnson, Lane is 34 years old. Did they play? What a career. I thought they liked him at guard. They do like him at guard. But did they play him attack? I can't remember. They also haven't kite-bected. He's been, he's been their right guard. Right. Right. He's not. He's not playing tackle again. The two guys that I have are the two positions I have, edge rusher. You mentioned not only can they not get after the passer with edge rusher, um, Josh sweat and milk and Williams are both pending free agents and then Brandon Graham said this is last year. So he's okay. Wow. So Bryce up better get going or else they're going to see a bigger need. Hey, you can trade for his son, Reddit. There you go. Hey, uh, and then off the line backer is the other position I had. I understand his I'm not mad on my do not put in the newspaper that I got mad about the papers. Not playing football this year as I'm shriveling into a corn cob on the podcast. I'm not owned. I'm not owned off all line backer because Devin White's been a healthy scratch. Um, Zach bonds played really well for them, but he's also a free agent. What a find. So like, are they going to pay a linebacker if they don't want to draft linebackers? Seems unlikely. So I have edge rusher and off ball linebacker for this team, but I think the secondary conversation is a good one that you brought up. I will be, I will be at my on my death bed saying goodbye to my children and grandchildren. And I will still be saying the Eagles need a linebacker. They'll be like, any last, like what's your last piece of advice? And I'm like, if you're doing a mock draft, do not mock a linebacker to the Eagles. The spite they probably need one because their fans are saying how he'll never do it. And he won't. And you know what? Damn it. He won't. I've been doing personal therapy for over a year and a half. It's been something that I have really enjoyed. It really has actually, you know, given me that feeling of curiosity and wonder and always trying to better myself. And, um, it's really helped me put my best foot forward in a lot of ways professionally, relationships, you know, as, as, uh, you know, whether it's family, friends, whatever it is, like I feel so much more confident about being who I am and taking the right steps forward. This is a better help.com/nflcd@10% off your first month. That is better. Help H E L P dot com slash N F L S E N F C North municipal Vikings, it's kind of a tough one to do. Good football team. This, this is a good football team. You know what it is. It's a really well coached football team. Well, coach group. Yep. I mean, Brian Flores might not even be coaching this defense next year because he might find himself another head coaching job again. Yeah. He struggled with them. Defensive tackle stood out to me and corner, but that's only because Stefan Gilmore is old and kind of a mercenary at this point. It's not because I think they're bad and they're scheming up pressure so well that they do so much to help their corners, but corner indeed tackle stood out to me. I have. I mean, it's good. It's a good roster. It's playing really well. So this is tough exercise at this point in time, but corner back I have for this team because Byron Murphy Jr, Stefan Gilmore and Shaq Griffin, all four, all three of them pending free agents and, you know, Byron Murphy and Shaq Griffin are exactly playing super well this start of the year. Murphy's got a 48.4 overall grade. Griffin's got a 60.2 overall grade stuff on Gilmore has a better PFF grade, but he's a little bit older. Are you going to resign him at this point in time? I don't know. So corner, I think it's definitely a need for this team, even with Kyle Blackman there and he's going to come back after injury. Aaron Jones been a really good signing for this team, but he's 30 years old. He's going to be a free agent. He only signed a one year deal. You don't really have anybody waiting in the wings. It's a really good offense era running back class. So I think that's definitely a need for them as well. Interior offensive line or interior defensive line. I went with interior offensive lines. Maybe the better need. You get a guy in there to be able to push at Ingram, Blake Brindell, maybe get a different guy in one of those starting spots if you can upgrade, but even then, I mean, it's unit that is playing really well. So it's hard to sort of nitpick on those needs Minnesota Vikings. There's just a really good football team. Green Bay Packers. What do you got for the Packers? Packers from the offensive line and off ball linebacker. Now they've addressed the off ball linebacker many times over the years. I still don't think it's been very good. So that was one that stood out to me. And then they're in this weird place on the offensive line where I know they took Jordan Morgan, but they don't want to play them at tackle and now it feels like they kind of need help at tackle. I mean, you tell me what you think with this team. So first of all, you think they draft another off ball with Adrian Cooper? Or do you forget Adrian Cooper? No, I didn't forget. I just think they have another need there because I don't think their linebackers have played well at all. Oh, that's fine. That's fair. That's fair. I like Adrian Cooper a lot. I don't think he's the long term issue, you know, even though I might not agree with your opinion. I'll fight to the death. You're right to say it. Um, perfect. Quay Walker. They like Quay Walker though, so they shouldn't. I almost like that's, that's sort of like that. Maybe that's in my head and I just go, they're not going to replace Quay Walker. So kind of is. Right. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Is he playing better this year? I feel like he is. I just, I, I would think it's very easy to upgrade from answer. That's my take. I'll leave it. I'll leave it at that. That's fair. That's fair. Um, I would love to know Packers fans thoughts, by the way. Like this is a tough team. And I see a lot of it online of them complaining about this, their linebacker play. This might have been the toughest team to do as a team needs because not only are, do we, you know, bring back the joke of like, who do we mock for them because they have sort of their tendencies, but also because this is a really well constructed roster that also has a lot of really good young players. So when you try to project needs for next year, you could almost like fill a young guy into these spots that you would imagine. So often to tackle a little bit because Zack, Tom or she'd Walker, they're two starting offensive tackles right now. They're not free agents this upcoming off season, but they are the next. So if you think Jordan Morgan's maybe an offensive tackle, okay, I guess you don't think they do. I don't think so either. So maybe you get another offensive tackle waiting the wings at that point. Defense interior as well. Turn around, Slaton is a free agent coming up. So maybe they want a younger presence instead of, you know, signing him to a veteran contract. Corner is another need for me. Eric Stokes, a free agent coming up next off season. They've got young corners. I guess they could maybe stand up for this team, but those are my offensive tackle defensive theory and cornerback with the three that came to mind with Packers fans. Please let us know. You're such a great job of like letting us know exactly what you think that your team is thinking because you follow the team very closely. Who else do we have Detroit Lions? We got for the Lions. Edge Pass rusher and interior offensive line. Okay. They still think they need a long term guy to play across from Hutchinson and interior offensive line is pretty old, honestly. Frank Ragnell, one of my all time favorites, you know, since I started doing the draft, they got Zaitler at right guard, Graham Glaznows, their left guard. I think they needed a young body in this group for the future. Yeah. And Frank, I actually looked this up, you know, Frank because we're a first name basis. Yeah. He's only 28. Yeah. I don't think he, although his body feels like that's the thing. I have center and offensive guard as two needs on this team because you mentioned the age of the guards and then Ragnell, he sort of mysteriously like talked about baby retiring after the season. But he came out and he was like, no, he's just really frustrated and I was beat up and I was mad. And so I'm not considering retiring, his injury history is utterly insane. That's the thing is he's been injured every single year since 2020 and now he's dealing with a partially torn peck. So even if he wasn't contemplating retiring going into this season, dudes get beat to hell, man. So center and interior offensive line, I think are big ones for our interior offensive guard, our big ones for this team. Vince Eiler, 34 years old, he's a free agent this upcoming season. And then another edge rush here opposite Aiden Hutchinson. They're very clearly doing all right with, uh, with the defensive line game plan that they have for Hutchinson, but it'd be nice to get a more consistent pass rush or opposite Hutchinson. That is for sure. Last team in this division is the Chicago Bears who do you got offensive line and edge pass rush out. I mean, I like Montez sweat a lot. I think they need another guy across from him. I look at their offensive line. I don't think it's been any good this year. It's just, they just can't get consistency. It feels like out of Kevin Jenkins. I agree. I don't like this unit as a whole. Honestly, I could sit here and make an argument to upgrade both go interior and tack. Not both tackle spots. You get what I mean? Like they can upgrade one of the tackle spots and upgrade one of the interior spots. It's got to get better. And that they got to invest in it. I think that this unit was one where going into the year, you could either look at it like glass half full or glass half empty. Yeah. And there were a lot of people who were on either side of that argument. And now that we're three games into the season, there's a lot of things that still have to work out. It's very early in the year. You've got plenty of time, but Kevin Jenkins does not look consistent there. When Nate Davis has been healthy, they now have this plan to sort of like rotate between him and Matt Pryor. So no one's really, you know, taking that starting guard spot by the reins. And so that's sort of concerning in and of itself. You know, coach, you give me like, oh, we're happy with both guys. We feel like we got two starting guards that are rotating and it's like, okay, that's not true. That's just not often how it works out in the league. And then Braxton Jones not having as good of a year as he's had in the past, Donal Wright still struggling a little bit. I don't think they're going to replace him, but just offensive line. I think you really got to look at whatever the best upgrade is to the offensive line in this offseason. So guard and tackle for the bears. And then I have defensive interior. You mentioned some sort of pass rush help. I think that's what they really need. They need a pass rusher from their interior defensive line because they got a lot of guys that are just kind of bodies in there and I'll give Andrew Billings his respect. He's got an 81.1 pass rushing grade this year. He's got seven pressures already in a 14.5 passage win percentage. So I don't want that to just like go under the rug. He's playing well, but in the long term, can you expect that sort of production from him long term? Not so sure. I think that they would be wise to get another pass rusher on the interior there for this year. I'll say is I would upgrade from Coleman shell in that center specifically to that. So there you go. That's an easy spot to upgrade the entire interior offensive line there for the Chicago Bears NFC South. Let's start with the Carolina Panthers for the NFC South. What do you got? Quarterback and edge pass rusher. I mean, obviously everything that's gone on with Bryce, they're going to look for a guy for the future, I think. And then you look at edge. Clowney is a mercenary wouldn't shock me if he's moved to the deadline. They let Brian burn. They traded Brian burns laughs off season. They need they need pass rushers and I had, you know, there's more needs for this team, but that those are the two that really jump out. I don't see Bryce young on this team in 2025. So quarterback number one on this list. No question about it. I'm sorry, panthers fans that you're here again, but you are edge rushers. The other one, you mentioned it, dire need of edge rushers there. Their edge. They're 30th and pass rush graded at 56.0 and they're 28th in total pressures at 18. There's just, there's, there's nobody on that defensive line outside of Derek Brown, even in the middle that really terrifies you at all. So they need a major edge rushers after moving on from Brian Burns. And the third need that I have is just wide receiver, right? Deontae Johnson, he's playing well, but he's on the last year of his deal. So is he going to have a career year and then command a huge bag that they might not be willing to pay? I think that goes into it. Offball linebacker could potentially be a need for this team. He let Frankie Louvugo last off season, Shaq Thompson's on the last year of his deal and he's 30 years old. So offball linebacker, I think, could be in the conversation for this team, but I agree with you. Quarterback and edge rushers without question. The number two and the number one and number two needs that we have projected for them going into 2025. A team of a Buccaneers, who do you get for the bucks? You get to start with the bucks. All right. Okay. I'll start with the bucks. Let me, let me tell you the only, I only had one need for them. That said, I want to know if you agree, it was edge pass rusher. Yes. Number one need for this team. No question about it is edge pass rusher is a group that's sort of led by Yaya Diabi, who is still sort of, you know, ascending into what he could be in this league. But I think he is their number one pass rusher. And then it's sort of just a bunch of guys after him to try and show Yinka. Anthony Miller, both of them are free agents that are upcoming. I don't think trying to think is going to be back, sorry, not Anthony, not Anthony Nelson. Um, I don't know if Anthony Nelson's going to be back. He's just been sort of like a depth rotational guy. Jason Light does like to bring those guys back though, if they do, you know, what the coaches want and they're really good depth pieces. So maybe he's back, but he's not a high impact pass rusher. So they need somebody else that could really get after the passer. This is somebody who we mocked at Laotti Latu and Jared verse of the bucks and mock drafts last year. So edge rusher number one, no question about it. Cornerback. Maybe. Uh, Jamil Dean is, I am a column playing well to early to start the season, but there's not a lot of depth behind them at the outside corner spots. So I think outside corner could potentially be a need for them, especially with the injuries that they have, uh, gone through to start the season like Bryce Hall, um, probably being out for the year, uh, and then tight end, I, Kate Oden's fine, but I think you'd like to do better if you could at the tight end spot. And again, it's a really nice tight end class. I can see Jason light dip in his toe in the water with this tight end class. So those are my three needs there, edge rusher corner and tight end for the books. All right. You love to hear it. Um, all right. So we have saints and Falcons left for this division. Yeah. Let's do the saints. What do you got for the saints? The saints, it's, it's the same kind of argument that I've had for a couple of teams where I can outside of left tackle right now. I could probably make an argument on multiple spots of this offensive line for longer is going to be awesome for a long time. I think that could be acted a great job the first two weeks, keeping them out of true dropback situations to aid the offensive line. But when you look at their true dropback pass pro situations, this is a unit that's still struggling. Eric McCoy is hurt. Yeah, I want heart heaven hurts. That really hurts. I like Ruiz. I know people have been saying, well, you know, in comparison to where they have needs. I know people have said like, Oh, maybe Trevor Penning's figured out this year. I'm very skeptical. This is fair. I am very skeptical. I think this team needs another interior player and a right tackle. Yeah. Offensive guards, a big one for me. She's Ruiz. He struggled throughout his entire career. You're right. He has continues to struggle. Can they pay him? Yeah, they gave him a contract extension, which is what makes this really tricky because I think they need to. That's what I thought. That's what I thought. He signed a four year, $44 million deal last year. I know. I know. And he got beat by a drum beat like a drum by Jalen Carter. And I just, man, I don't know. He got paid so good for him, but I think that they could upgrade at that spot. Lucas Patrick's played well to start the season. We'll see if it continues throughout the year. I'm sorry. What just happened? I don't even know if I should do it on the show. I guess, I guess I was, I was looking sometimes I search things as you say them and I search Trevor Penning because I was like, I don't, I'm not really as high on Trevor Penning. As you know, his turnaround this year as it seems to be. And one of the first tweets that comes up is Trevor Penning, you effing idiot, you just lost us the game. Jeez. And number one, that's the worst part of Twitter is that kind of stuff, but it's just cheese. I'm just like, oh, all right, well, validated, I suppose, at least from that Twitter user. Yeah. Rough. So I think offensive guard, you get upgrade there, defensive interior. I think you could definitely upgrade, you need a, you need a guy to really stand on the defensive interior. I know the draft of Brian Brzee, but he still has yet to be that guy for them. We'll see if he is at the end of the year. And then Ed Druscher, right? I mean, Chase Young hasn't popped off for him yet. Cam Jordan, not getting any younger. Carl Granderson's great, but I think that they certainly need somebody other than Carl Granderson to make it happen along this defensive line. So just defensive line in general. And then, and then I think offensive guard with potentially ACs are always replacement. And Atlanta Falcons last team that we have in this, in this division. The Falcons, I had edge pass rusher because Judon didn't sign an extension when he got traded there. Yeah. So that's still a big need for me, right? And a great job by the Falcons to address a lot of their needs with, you know, mercenary kind of players like Judon, like Simmons. They saw where they had some needs and said, okay, let's, let's plug these with short-term answers right now. And then wide receiver. I like Drake London. We're still waiting on the breakout. This really doesn't have to do with him. And Darnell Mooney is an ideal number three to me, playing the role of a number two. So, and then Ray Ray McCloud has gotten a lot of opportunity for them this year. When Pennix takes over, and even with cousins out there, this argument still stands, this team should be living in a lot of 11 personnel looks that they can attack the way Pennix did in Ryan Grubbs offense at Washington. And if they're going to do that, they need another threat at wide receiver, especially if Kyle Pitts doesn't ever take the jump from average to great, like we all thought he would be. It just feels like he hasn't had that consistency as a pass catcher yet. Ed Drescher and interior defensive line still. I get it. You know, they drafted Braylon Trice. They drafted Brandon Doralis. They drafted Rooka Rorro, but David Onemata, Gray Jarrad, the starters alone, the interior. They're both 31 years old. They have expiring contracts after this season. Matthew Judon, you mentioned, did not sign an extension when they brought him in either. And so, not only do you need more from this group, you're potentially losing the guys who are starting for you. You're essentially losing the three veterans that are starting for you. So, if you got full faith that those three rookies that I just mentioned will step into all those spots. Okay. It's maybe not as dire and neat as you thought, but I think that they could still use a premium defensive lineman in the first round of the upcoming draft. So, off ball linebacker, I think is also more of one, but I think depth at wide receiver is, like you mentioned, a need for this team that could definitely make a lot of sense as well. NFC West is the last division that we got here going over some of these team needs. Let's start with the Seattle Seahawks. What do you have for the Seahawks? Another one of those teams, it's like the combo with the Saints where I love a lot of things the Saints have been doing this year, especially from coaching and they're more talented than they get credit for. Seattle falls in that bucket for me as well, where I look at them and go, "I really like the Seahawks roster. I love the coaches they've hired to run both their offense and defense." They just have a lot of holes on the offensive line at the moment to me right now. Geno's been awesome this year. They have talent at wide receiver. They got two talented running backs. They fly around on defense, but to me Trevor, when they signed, Connor Williams is a really late add to their offensive line and just kind of showed how thin they are on the interior. So if I had to go specifically, I'd look for replacements for both Lake and Tomlinson at left guard and Connor Williams at center for me. Yeah. Yeah. And Anthony Bradford's not playing as well as he could at the other guard spot as well. So I think that just solidifies your interior offensive line, potential long term addition there. Lake and Tom and Lucas has heard again, right? Um, yeah, he's, um, he's got a bad knee, it sounds like, so that's not good. Right. Oh, he, yeah, I want to make sure that I have the latest on that, but I'm, I'm, when I was looking at, you know, the rosters too, and I know he's been a guy that's been on and off her. So as much as you like the young tackles, at some point, Lucas has to play or else that becomes a need to. Yeah. Yeah. I got offensive guard right now because of again, Tomlinson's firing deal and Brad for not playing as well, the center could be potentially their right tack could potentially be there and tight end, right? There's now no offense contract. So if you want to, do you think that you can upgrade and get more from the tight end position? Maybe that could be a need for this team off ball linebacker though as well. You know, Terrell Dodson, Jerome Baker, both of those guys are pending free agents. This upcoming free agency in the 2025 off season. And you know, Mike McDonald, who's the head coach there now, defensive guy, he knows the value of a stud middle linebacker like what he had with Rokon Smith back at back in Baltimore last year. So I think that they could be on the hunt for a stud middle linebacker in the centerpiece of that defense. So I think off ball linebacker also is a big need or a potential big need for the Seattle Seahawks team. What about the San Francisco 49ers? What do you got for the Niners? The Niners are a little tricky because they're so beat up right now. And they are one of the best rosters in football. So you try to project what's a long term problem versus short term problem. I think this offensive line while it's extremely well coached, there could be an upgrade there, but I didn't end up writing that down as a top need. I wrote down both corner and edge for them because I love a Treberes ward. You know, Isaac, Adam is somebody that they got as a stop gap across from him. And then when you look at edge, they did the same thing by bringing in Leonard Floyd across from Nick Bosa, but they just do the old, you know, falcon style, like mercenary deals just to get them through rather than have a long term answer because you only felt somebody needs. So for me, it was edge and corner, but they're looking for number two's in those departments, not number one's. So I have corner is my number one need because you mentioned, I like Ward as well, but Ward and Diamador, Lenore, both free agents, this upcoming off season that makes it even more pressing. Right. So, you know, the draft Ronaldo green. So you do have him, you know, in the farm system, if you will, but I think you'll try to bring back Ward. But again, like just projecting some needs corner could be a need for this team because of that reason. Edge rusher could certainly be on the table, actually went with offensive tackle and offensive guard for this team because outside of Trent Williams, I know this Niners offensive line is not playing that great. I'm excited about Poonie. Yes. Right. And I mentioned that in my article, how it's like, okay, it's cool that the rookie Dominic Poonie, you know, earned one of those starting guard spots, but Aaron Banks has been a little up and down, a little inconsistent and he is an upcoming free agent as well. Cole McKibitz is tied with Cam Robinson for the most pressures allowed through three games at right tackle. So again, you're in this winning window. If there's not, if there's an upgrade to be had, are you, are you going to be afraid to make it? And I think that the Niners just have to look at their entire offensive line and be honest about where they are at if they still believe that they are peddled to the metal in a winning window, because right now I feel like the offensive line just has not been good enough for them. So to me, I see some future potential needs along the offensive line at a couple of different spots there for San Francisco. Um, it was on Cardinals, let's do the Cardinals next Cardinals I rode down, uh, any position on defense that isn't safety. Is that fair? Um, I think I like their corners more than you do. No, there's some talent there, but if they took a corner, I wouldn't be like, you can't do this. No, that's, that is very fair. That is very fair. That's the point. Like they could easily add to their corner room. They could easily add, I mean, I have defensive interior and off ball linebacker. Yeah. Front seven is, is noteworthy. Dennis, Dennis Gardeck's been playing well as an edge. He's even Collins is playing better now that he's a full time edge, but Roy Lopez can't do it all himself. Roy Lopez, as much as he can do it all himself, you know, he doesn't want to because it's a team game, right? No, spread the love. He's got to give these others involved. But yeah, no interior defensive line and off ball linebacker for me are, uh, are two big ones for sure. The other one that I have is often to tackle. They need a right tackle. They're Johnson, juniors, I think going to be good for them is the left tackle. Sure. But you signed Jota Williams with two year deal. He's already hurt, uh, what was his injury? I think it was, um, I'll tell you right now, man, what was his, well, he might not return this season. It's another knee injury. Hasn't he had? Yeah. Now Kelvin beach him starting and beach him's like 35 years old, right? So. Right. Yeah. Like right. Yeah. And then defensive interior and off ball linebacker for me because with, with, with, with saving Collins no longer at the off ball linebacker position, I don't know. I feel like my, actually now that I'm saying that I feel like Mac Willison's flashed a little bit this year, but I still think that you could potentially use another off ball linebacker. So those are my three. Those are my three for Arizona. Okay. Yeah. Last theme Rams. All right. Yeah. Los Angeles Rams linebacker and corner. I didn't think this one was very hard personally. Yeah. Both are on my list. Yeah. I really, really need a corner or two. It hasn't looked great from what I've seen of Trey White this year, which is a shame. It feels like a makeshift cornerback room, right? Really, it's, they're just trying to figure it out. Yeah. They're just trying to fill the spots for 2024. That's what it feels like. I think they got some juice up front. Like I do. I like Byron Young. I like Jared verse. Yeah. A lot. I think Braden Pisk. I like your boy. Kobe Turner. Kobe Turner. Some juice up front, but they've invested a lot of resources. So eventually you run out of resources. They need an off ball linebacker and they need help at corner. Yeah. Yeah. Off-ball linebacker for sure. Letting Ernest Jones get out of the building. Well, very odd. Interesting. Right. I mean, nobody's figured that out as far as I know. So let's get to the bottom of this. Next podcast. These two hours of just an in an Ernest Jones investigation on what happened there. It's very strange. Look, you let him out of the building and I suppose they're happy with off-ball linebackers more than I would be. But as of right now, when I look at this depth chart, I think off-ball linebackers in need and then offensive tackle, sneaky need for this team. Well, maybe not so sneaky. I don't know. There are offensive lines been decimated by injuries, right? I think there's just been Steve Avilla and Jonah Jackson and just there's been a bunch of impactful injuries along the offensive line. Some of the tackles as well. But Rob Havenstein is 32 years old. He's got two years left on his deal. Jonah booms a free agent coming up. Alleric Jackson has not been reliable as an offensive tackle. So offensive tackles. When they get healthy, I think the interior is fine with Avilla and Jackson and Todson. But I think offensive tackles something that they really could be looking at pretty hard. This upcoming season. So yeah. Ooh, buddy. We did it. There we go. Up 32 down as we said at the very top of the podcast, let us know what you think of what we think and tell us what you believe. All right. Hold on. No need anger. Who we don't need? Yeah. You idiots. My team doesn't need a tackle. We need a kicker. Connor Rogers just lost the game for us. This effing idiot. Yeah. Oh, man. I almost feel bad for reading it, but it was it was just remarkable where I was I was like, okay. No, no, it's pure cinema. No, no, it's right. Look, let us know what you think the top needs could be for your team going into the 2025 season. Hit us up in the comments. That's the best way to do it. YouTube.com backslash at NFL stock exchange. If you're not on if you're not viewing this on video or on YouTube, if you're audio only, you could hit us up on X and Twitter at Tampa Baytray at Connor and Jay Rogers. I saw some people in the comments of the last show talking about discord once again. We I've said that we would look into it. The season's incredibly busy for us. I would love to set something up like that, but I just I don't really understand discord. I'm hoping to learn a lot more about it. I'm going to have said that before, but, but, but if we set up a discord, you guys got to keep commenting on the YouTube section because you got to help show out a good point. I don't know if we can trust the people. Can we trust you? Can we trust the addicts? We can help the show in every way possible. Because if you agree to that, if you electronically agree to that, then it's something that is screw us over. We'll pull the plug on the whole thing. We will cancel the show. We will look our own show. The first week that more discord chats are made than YouTube comments. That's it. It's shows over. It's like taking away a toy from a kid. Honestly, we're going to look into it because we do one for Badlands. And it's unbelievable. So I think that it could be a lot of fun, but it has to, it has to be done right. Like shout out to our guy, Andy. We have somebody basically run the discord to make sure, you know, you have different channels for different topics and everybody's acting like everybody's acting like a respectful adult. And it's, you know, you want it done the right way. You want to create a very healthy environment. So we would love to do it, but like we do with everything related to the show, we want it to be done the right way. Yes. So again, let, let me know what you guys think of your team needs, because like I said at the very top of the show, you, what you say in response to us and the conversations that you have and the evidence that you give could very well sway me into changing some of the team needs in the mock draft simulator, which changes, you know, obviously, it allows you guys to be part of what I hope is a community product that we all love that we're all building together in the mock draft simulator to make it the best draft simulator out there. If you don't have it fully unlocked, you can do so by going over to pff.com getting a PFF plus subscription. That would also help out the show, which we'd really appreciate and you can follow along with us and do multi round mock drafts and trades and all that kind of good stuff. So make sure you go on and do that Connor got anything else before we get out of here. No, man. Another good week in the books as we kind of lay the groundwork for the draft here. We're just adding as many players into this class as we can on the draft radar. Now we got the team needs it's brick by brick over here, which I really enjoy the process. It is true. It is very true. The mailbag edition of stock up stock down will be coming to you guys at some point next week. I'm very, very excited for that. I'm Trevor Sakeman. That is Connor Rogers. Thank you guys so much for watching and listening to the NFL stock exchange podcast. We'll see you next week. [MUSIC] Hey, your job. Do you ever have to deal with a nose roller? Go ahead. Pick on me the way that you want to. Did I say that? Yeah. I would say that to my son. Man, I mean, come on, man. Oh, this isn't CBS. All right. Be quiet for a few seconds. Why would people want to listen to the Sims complete podcast? Well, a couple of things. One, if you like to see sons pick on their father, this might be the place. If you want to see a place where the father just kicks he out of his son, this would be the place. What do you like about it, Matt? Ditto. Father, son, dynamic duo talking about the game of football that we love and share and appreciate together. And, you know, hey, it's an extension of what we did, right? Growing up. Like, was able to watch my father play football, then obviously watch him as a broadcaster. And then he taught me the game of football and share the wisdom that he learned throughout his playing career. And, you know, hey, sometimes we're full of it and sometimes we actually know a thing or two. Well, we do do a lot of research. At least I do. I'm you, you little spotty, but you know, you're, you hang in there. It's fun. I love doing this and it's been awesome. Sims complete.
