Hello, hello. How you doing, everybody? I'm Nina Taylor with this week's Gospel News. Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter born June 1997 is primarily known for winning season 9th of Sunday back. Melvin Crispell III. As a toddler, he traveled to Japan with his parents where he assisted them in teaching music to other Japanese toddler students. At the age of 23, he received his first Grammy nomination for the best Gospel performance song with his head wonderful is your name written by his late father Melvin Crispell Jr. He was born into a musically inclined family. His father composed and played instruments on numerous award winning songs for some of Gospel's biggest names. Meanwhile, his mother, Tenisha Crispell, was a celebrated Gospel singer. In 2020, his single wonderful is your name. He received a Grammy nomination for his rendition of that song. Gospel singer reality television star and best selling author Tina Atkins Campbell. She and her sister launched one of the most commercially successful contemporary Gospel acts, Mary Mary. After forming the group in 1998 with Erica Campbell, her sister, the Atkins sisters married, unrelated men who both had the same last name. Campbell, Mary Mary went on to earn two gold album award and climbed to the top of the Billboard Gospel Albums charts. The duo also released a series of books, including 2003's Transparent. Then in 2012, they premiered their own reality television series, simply entitled Mary Mary. In 2015, Tina followed in her sister's footsteps and launched a solo career. Both as an author with the memoir I Need a Day to Pray and as a singer with the album It's Personal, led by the single Too Hard Not To. Campbell returned in 2017 with her follow-up album It's Still Personal. Why is it so difficult to get black men to take care of their health here in the United States? Black men face so many health issues. Black men have higher death rates than any other racial group and women for all the leading causes of death. 40% of black men die prematurely from heart disease compared to 21% of European men. Black men are 30% more likely to have high blood pressure than any other group. Diabetes among black men is 60%. In addition to homicides, diseases, HIV disease, and septicemia, there are among the top 10 causes for death of black men here in America. One thing we can do is to watch our health by improving our diets. Now, what diet plans are best for African American men? 5. West African Cuisine They have diverse and flavorful dishes made from fresh whole foods and traditional cooking methods. West African cuisine is a strong competitor for the world's most nutritious foods. 4. Greek cuisine is good for balancing your diet and living healthy. 3. Nordic diet The Nordic diet is one of the healthiest diets in the world. It's good for the planet too. 2. Mediterranean diet. Unprocessed foods with low intake of red meat and dairy. The number one best diet that we can incorporate here in America is the Okinawa diet from Japan. Widely considered to be one of the healthiest diets in the world, the Okinawa diet has numerous health benefits so much so that Japan has the lowest obesity rates and the third-longest life expectancy of any other developed country.
