We are back on the smiley show. We were, I guess this is President's Cup week eve. But by the time you're listening to this, this is President's Cup week. I'm Charlie Hume. He's smiley Kaufman. We've had quite a week in a number of different fronts. Freshback from the delivery floor of Duke Hospital, a little fall start there. Smiling and moving stuff around. SK, what's doing your world buddy? Oh man. Man, since we've had, who do we have on for our guests? We've had Pat and Golden Tay. Yes, since we recorded that episode. That feels like weeks ago. It really does. It feels like a long time ago. But yeah, I've got to see you, got to see the rest of the team, got to play some golf, got to see Hope Valley, see Charlie Walker, see Amanda, see the kid that's on the way, that's definitely on the way. She is on the way. She was almost on the way tonight, which would have made this week very interesting. But she's thankfully decided to kind of hold off and let us do a little bit of President's Cup coverage before she makes her entry to this world. Very, very kind, very kind of her because I definitely needed you here today because we got a lot to talk about. And we could have definitely done it without you, but we definitely appreciate you being here. So thank you, Amanda. Keep holding strong, I guess, for a little while longer. Yeah, it was, it was really, if she can do the double where she, she not only keeps me here for President's Cup coverage, but she also allowed me to play full member guest weekend, which was, and that's it, that's its own episode. Backyard to Batchy, highly recommended, especially the dresswork guns involved by, I mean, that was the talk of Hope Valley Country Club. Not only was it just everybody kind of peacocking around on a practice round day at the member guest talking about, you know, how many shots their partner has, how well they've been playing, you know, just hearing all the gossip that's going around the club, just being an innocent bystander in a third party and if at all, there was, there was a lot of confident folks over there. And Charlie Hume may have been the most confident one of the entire bunch. So that's definitely something I want to get into in this episode is, is hearing how that member guest shook out because there wasn't a guy that was more confident heading in and felt like, man, yeah, that's going to be a hearty no comment for me when it comes to the competition portion of that breakdown. You know, we had a lot of fun. We had a lot of fun out there this weekend. And we definitely had a lot of fun on Friday night, backyard to Batchy, and we felt like less fun on Saturday morning. But that, that can't take away the fun we had on Friday night. It look, it's, if you're not going to win, at least have a good hang. And we had a great flat of guys that were good hangs. So that was our win. That was our win this weekend. And everyone loves seeing you. Everyone was asking, they want you to come play in this thing next year. They were upset. I wouldn't play it. I think a lot of there was, I wouldn't say a lot of guys. There was a couple of guys that definitely wanted the opportunity to, to win y'all's belt and say they beat the team of human Kauffman. So I definitely felt that type of energy. But as you know, I'm not somebody that likes to show up and play any member guest or really anything that that that's on the line for the membership that they care about because I just don't really care as much. And so my lot like my worst worst case scenario is winning a member guest because you're you're the that stands there. That's, you know, one of PGA tour event playing at a their major championship. Yes. Well, and golly, I would milk the hell out of that. Like, I'd have my family there on the 18th green. I'd give an acceptance speech. Just in the back. I kissed the trophy. Yeah. Then you're over here. The guy who like put us on your back for, you know, 54 straight holes and just like, I cannot just get out of here as fast as I can. I don't care about this at all. So, but I mean, I definitely would make you take on the belt, probably hanging up behind you. That's another thing we got in the works that very nice looking painting. Yes. That's going up soon. Yeah. It's very legitimate backdrop. It was for my grandfather's house. You know, he passed away a month or so ago. And this was something that, you know, I've always wanted to have. And luckily, you'll get to hang it up here. We just haven't had time to do it. So you get to see just a little, a little snippet. If you're watching here on YouTube, the corner, it's a beautiful picture of kind of the, I guess, somewhere near Cyprus and Monterey Peninsula, that whole area, love that area so much. So, such a cool photo. Well, a great way to remember your grandfather that we'll have on the show, you know, every, every episode we do here in our homes. And also that's a great little tie-in segue there because in the midst of my member guest weekend to the delight of many, I got about 50 texts, people who also made the same PGA tour, PGA tour champions, Instagram posts, my grandad. Yes. Seven, double pitch. God, Lee, how good is a swing at 90? Better than ours. Way better than ours. Way better than ours. Man, your grandad's a best. He's, he is the guy that I thought, you know, Fred couples talking about how he's calling to his show and what he didn't call people who were like, why isn't he calling in? And that is so your, your grandad. You know, you and I played golf with them this year. And he, he was just, you know, on the phone, just figuring out the scoop. And I finally figured out, you know, I think my wife watches Gossip Girl, that's kind of her show, right? Mine's, mine's entourage. It's like the one show if I had to watch one show. And I think he's Gossip Girl. I think I figured out who it is. And it's, I think it's your grandad. He's Gossip Girl. He is, he has an exceptional, he has many exceptional traits as a human, but one of them is just the desire to constantly learn. And so he just surrounded himself with a bunch of people who were all experts in their own field or plugged in. And he just aggregates information every single day. And at 90 years old, he's just like, he's got every little piece of information. And meanwhile, you're over here with like little baby probably watching too much TikTok. Like, I'm not even a quarter of as informed as he is. But yeah, man, that was super cool. Seeing Ricky commenting on it. I mean, just a number of guys that just love him. He just just said, absolute legend. You know, love you, Sambo. They all call him say it's weird. I call him pop. Everyone else calls him Sambo. But no, I mean, that was, that was, it is kind of fun to see that and be having, having arrived where we have now in the world of golf. Like, I've worked in media for most of my life, but not in the world of golf and to be here and have that connection to him and just think of how thankful I am that he put a club in my hand so that I could stand up, you know, whenever that was when I was one or two years old about the same age as Walker and fell in love with the game the way I did. Now, here he is just the social media star. Freddy couples loves him. So that was, yeah, cool one. Very cool. Pretty cool. Pretty dang cool. Your grandad's the best. Well, we are, I guess, multiple minutes into the show now. We have lots of golf that we do need to cover. We have lots of President's Cup preview that we need to do. But here's a place we got to start smiling because we are, we're packed this week. We got a lot of supporters of the show. We're thrilled to be supported by the recovery pin this week. And this is something that we've been lucky to have a lot of sponsors on this show of things that we love using and enjoy using. And so smiley's got his right here. I'm holding up mine right here in this cool little leather case. And you can pull this thing out. And this is, this is something that we were both, as you'll see whenever we drop this tobacco road project, you'll see us using this pin out in the range. I watched you use this in my kitchen, whatever day that was, to kind of work on your knee, on your back, on your shoulder, you name a body part, you have the recovery pin on it. And it's, it's, I'm not going to attempt to fully explain the science to you. But I do know this, it's, it's a couple of different things. It's trigger point pressure. It's magnetic field therapy. It's, it's got some negative ions going on. A lot of scientific, we're not a science pod among many other things. What I do know is, is you put, you put this, this recovery pin on a point that's given you problems and you'll know when it's giving you problems. And you get that trigger point of pressure going for like 30 to 45 seconds on a spot. You keep that pin next to you, do it a couple times during the day. You do it when you're out in the golf course and you're playing around. And we've both seen a lot of benefit from it. I think so definitely. And for me, as you can see, I need to hang up this painting here behind me. But we've been doing a lot of stuff around the house, moving a bunch of boxes. And I was moving actually this new desk that I'm on now. It was very heavy along with other things I was lifting. And my knee was shot the day that I got to tobacco road. And I told you guys that it was gonna be struggle that day. And I was worried. So that night before I asked, I actually put the recovery pin on the knee, as well as other body parts that needed some ailment, some help. But I got to tobacco road and luckily you had the pen. And first off, it is sharp. And it's something that you should not pass to one with the, this side, the sharp pointy end to the person. You actually, there's a cap you can put on it and then pass it to somebody. We were playing a match. So I was trying to maybe just maybe a little bit, you know, maybe kind of see what I could do. I just assumed that you weren't giving me the sharp side. So I grab it and I was like, Oh my gosh, are you serious? And anyways, it's from what I, you know, since I've had this for a couple weeks now, I'm somebody that really is somebody that's that's used just about everything when it comes to recovery devices. And I've really liked just how sharp and how alleviating the pain it can be for for me, like, like traps, neck. And even like sometimes when I get a migraine or a headache, you're able to put it on your head. It's I know it sounds wild. But I mean, within 30, 30 seconds, I can tell just a difference in how I'm feeling. I've had hand and wrist issues as well. So I'll hand up. I'll basically up and down my forearm all the way into my hand. And I can just, I feel something like deep in my muscles. I don't know how to explain it. But it's, it's almost like a 10s unit would be the best way to probably describe it. But it's not even the battery and the like, it's, which makes it all more useful. But it's not, but it's not a 10s unit. It's not something that like you just feel like your muscles like cramping up. It just you could feel something's happening deep within your muscles and your body. I'm all for circulating blood, blood flow because I love the, I love the terminology of if you're not circulating blood flow, you ain't, you ain't doing it right. You do something wrong. There's something to the trigger point pressure. I look, where I like to show off my, my nice little spinal surgery scar, and I still had that, that same spot right up here, even past the surgery. And that this pin on that spot just does me wonders. So you have the best thing about it is shoot portable, easy, easy to like you can put in your golf bag. You never have to worry about it. You can just throw it in there, especially for somebody like me who gets like a right trap in neck that'll walk up probably once I, you know, one out of every 10 rounds that happens. And sometimes like devices I've, I've used in the past to try to alleviate that, just almost aggravated more with this in my time in using it. I've, I felt like it's helped more than anything, especially like when I get those just muscle spasms that just come out of nowhere and you just feel like you're locked up, which you saw that happen to me as well with my lower back. That's why I feel like Amanda when she was watching me in your guys's home, and she's like, this guy is just a, he's a rehab problem. Like he's the guy that just, he's not going to stop, he's a fidgety guy. And that's kind of who I am. Yeah. That was that whole scene in my house was hilarious because it was like you just chilling out just doing your thing very Matthew McConaughey vibes. I'm getting my work and my recovery pin. And it was just me a bowl of anxieties running around, trying to make sure I had coolers packed for member guests and what time is my partner getting in. And you know, all, all these sorts of things happening. And just, I think the whole thing is just really tickled her. So that's a, that's a real tangent from where we started. But what we will say is you got to go check them out. The recovery pin.com. Super, you know, easy tool to use. Like smiley said, very portable throwing your golf bag. Basically just don't get it wet. Anything else past that's gravy should help you a lot of your guy has some aches and pains and stuff to kind of bother you. Exactly. I just don't hand it to somebody at the sharp end, like you did to me. Unless you're about to play them. If you're going to play them in a match, just pick a, pick a spot where you're going to inflict amount of damage that, you know, maybe it's worth a shot or two and then try that. Everything else is out there. So it's great. Try it out. Try it out. So the big thanks to the people at the recovery pin and also a cool little kind of thing to play this forward is every, every player on the international team this week is getting a recovery pin because our guy Digby works with that team. So that, that takes us right into some golf and we have a couple of segments. We have a couple of topics of discussion both on today's show and then on a fuller preview show that you're going to hear later this week or watch later this week, one smiley is in Montreal on site at Royal Montreal. We're going to dig into some stuff there. But on the front end, we still have, you know, some team stuff. We want to talk about some potential pairings, but there is some actual golf action this week and it's worth getting to DP world tour. You're not just live texting this playoff. Yes. We're digging it loving it. I thought it was awesome. I, so three man playoff Tristan Lawrence, Rory McElroy, Billy Horschel, first told Tristan played his way out of that one after kind of missing to drive out right and then depositing his third shot in the water. But Rory and Billy both make birdie on that first hole and then play a second playoff hole and Billy Horschel with an eagle denies Rory for a second straight week. So just let's just kind of start with, you know, this week felt less of a, I don't call last week a failure for Rory, but just less of a maybe gut punch given that last week wasn't Royal County down. He had it. He was right there. It was his national open. He gave it a good go this week and Billy Horschel just bested him with an eagle in the playoff. All he can really do is kind of shake his hand and keep him moving. Yeah, there's definitely a larger conversation I kind of want to get into when it comes to Wentworth when it comes to the Irish Open. But yeah, I think the conversation will be about again, Rory not winning, but this was a total different circumstance and you just said it perfectly, right? You know, for what Billy Horschel did down the stretch and what Rory did too, like last week was he was defined by what I think a lot of people would remember the three putt that he had on the 17th hole, where he's in control for the most part of this golf tournament. You know, he's got a guy in a couple groups in front of him, Rasmus Wigard, that just kind of gets hot late, birdies, the holes that he showed down the stretch. And Rory unfortunately made a couple of key mistakes to bogeys in those last five holes. So when it comes to this week, and you know, Rory gave himself a great opportunity last week on that 18th hole, but you know, he was in that final group. He was in control, not in the golf tournament, but it seemed like he was in control of his game and gets to that 17th hole, Charlie makes an eagle putt from so far away. Like I was what I was at breakfast with with my family. I look up and I see this golf ball tracking from like eight feet out. I was like, Oh, wow, that looks good. Cause right in the middle, I was like, Oh my gosh, well, we just made birdie. Oh my God, the 17th hole is a par five. He just made eagle. This thing is over because I knew the 18th was a par five. So I just was thinking in my head after he hit the fairway. So this one's on ice because Warren Smith says that putt and less Billy Horschel goes and makes an eagle. It just felt like this is Rory's to win. And he hits that second shot in the 72nd hole and just overturns it and you and I both were texting each other like finally Rory got his break, you know, a time in which everybody else has gotten good breaks. He got, he got the break, the ball didn't go in the water. He's got an opportunity to get up and down and win the golf tournament. But then I saw the line. I said, Oh man, he can't, it was a type of live that grass you could tell was a little raised behind it to where he wasn't going to be able to get enough spin. And if anything on a shot like that, it could come out slow. And the last thing you want to do in that situation is chip it in the water. So he gave himself an opportunity to make a pot, obviously misses. But this is where you kind of have to turn the conversation and all right, Rory, Bertie's, you know, Bertie's the first you play off holes. Let's look at Billy Horschel now, right? What did Billy do to get in this playoff? He birdies 17th hole, the 18th hole, Bertie's the first playoff hole, and then makes an eagle in the second playoff hole. If you're Rory Mackereli, you just got to tip your cap, shake his hand, and to the American that might as well just have some European affiliation at this point. Billy, Billy European tour player Horschel is, he's, he's a force to be reckoned with over there. They love them. That, that I thought was the coolest part of this is like, if you had to have someone who isn't Rory, who isn't European, win this event, the commitment that Billy's made to going overseas and playing this event specifically to see him win, that's the guy that's got to be the rooting favorite. So that I felt, and then another sort of hard luck miss on a national team for Billy. It's like, you know, he missed it before and they, they, you know, reconfigured the system to give hot guys like him or, you know, guys with a hot hand like him, a chance to make these teams. And then he's, he comes up short again this last year, despite playing well past a couple months, and then goes out and wins. And of course, you can start asking questions as to whether he deserves a spot on the team that's headed to Montreal this week. I'm curious to unpack a little bit what you, where you started with this is you, you were talking about a larger sort of conversation. Yeah, between Irish Open Wentworth. What are your thoughts, us there? Yeah. Yeah. And just to, just to say real quick, I mean, that you just kind of brought up a great point, talking about Billy not making that President's Cup team. You and I both kind of looked at resumes and you said, well, Billy's probably had the best, you know, last quarter of the season. He played so well, definitely was potentially deserving of a pick. And then when we had him on the podcast as well, it did feel like he needed to win a golf tournament. So it just felt like it was a little bit too little too late, maybe, for that just last push. Right. To win it after. Yeah. He's got some bad luck on when he's won, won his tournaments, right? But yeah, that it's a shame because I would love to see Billy on that team. And especially now that we know that he won at the BMW. So it's kind of a bummer not to see him in Montreal, but just the conversation I wanted to get into. And we continue to talk about a global tour. We continue to see the value and what the DP world tour can bring. Obviously that we just recently saw in the news, the DP world tour is having lived off tour players play in their next event. But also the fines has been a big, big talking point on John Romme refusing to pay the fines. And I just think there's a larger conversation in this in that the DP world tour seems to be, you know, tied at the hip with the PGA tour. They don't seem to be, you know, interested in joining up with live golf. And with that being said, I just feel like the PGA tour really does need to lean more into like they've already got the Scottish open. Let's find a way to get these events more a part of our global schedule. If we're not, if we're not leaning into these, these big time events, because listen, they're, they're, they're finishing up before football, which I think is, is a great actually time to go play in the fall over there, because you're not competing against football. You had these great iconic venues, fantastic events. I think the guys would enjoy playing over there. If it was, you know, something that was a more of a global type of schedule. But I know how those DP two DP world tour events, how they're much more, I would say, lean that way versus like the Scottish Open, for example, is like very PGA tour heavy as far as like the amount of spots given. So that would be the one drawback is how do you find, you know, the middle ground of who gets to get into these events. But that's where we're like, okay, global schedule, global tour, you know, however many guys are playing with it's 100 or so players. This is where I'm like, light bulb went off. This is what's got to happen. And I would love to see it. I just want to hear your thoughts. That is such a good point you make about the TV window timing of this tour, because in some ways, it's like, why is the Premier League popular? Why has that grown in popularity in the past 10 years? Because you can wake up, pour a cup of coffee, maybe put a nip of Jameson in there if you're up for it, and throw on sports. And there's live sports. I mean, it's like the, especially now that we're, you know, dads of young kids and we're up early in the morning, and you're like, Golly, I just want to put anything on the TV. And a lot of times it is DP world tour. But, you know, having high leverage golf on that early in the morning is a really, really cool experience. It's why we love all those months in July, we can flip on the Scottish Open early day. You know, we can have, you know, the buddies over early to watch the Open Championship, we kind of lean into a product that we really care about. So I think that's, that's a phenomenal point from a television perspective, which is a huge key piece of this whole thing. You know, in some ways that holds up going in that direction, going global, because it's how do you sell that to an American TV market? How do you sell against that in terms of advertisements? I think that the place that you continue ending up is what is the DP world tour to the PGA tour? And I think it, I think it's looking at it and saying, we have no idea what live would have done for the DP world tour, what sort of cash they would have infused them with, what sort of pedestal they would have put them on. I mean, at the end of the day, you got to assume they'd still be playing second fiddle because the live events or the marquee events, but maybe they have more exposure, more guys playing in between those live events as they're less of them. On the tour side, they sign the strategic alliance, and it feels like a good thing, but I think the knock on effect is still your kind of a feeder tour for the PGA tour. So, I love what you're suggesting, but it's also like, I don't know how you finish the race. That's my biggest problem in it. That's exactly it. It's like, oh, hey, can we send all over guys over to play your marquee events in the fall right when you're trying to lead up to your finish event? I don't know. I don't think they both work. I think that you could still have an end of the PGA tour and end of the DP world tour like we have right now. And I just think about the Rolex series events that they have and the Scottish Open, the Irish Open. I think the Irish Open's won and Wentworth, and then you have the Dubai events. And to me, there's all fallen in the time periods that really do make sense for, it's not too much golf. It's golf on a global stage, and it's good for the DP world tour to have some of the best players from the PGA tour playing. It grows the game in that aspect. So, I just think that's where the PGA tour, if they are looking at this globally and think to themselves, how can we expand out of just the US market? Man, you already have the DP world tour attached to your hip. Let's go all in and use them to the benefits of both tours. Because right now, you made a very nice point. As right now, it does feel like the DP world tour is just kind of feeding players into the PGA tour, which we've seen guys have success and become more well-known commodities, like a guy like Matthew Bavon, who's taken advantage of his opportunities this year. But I would like to see them find a way to really utilize that. If the DP world tour was willing, you know, to have, I mean, why wouldn't they want to have Zander Schaffley, Scotty Schaffler, and those types of players playing in this event? It's if there was a more creative way, it would take a lot of time and a lot of scheduling effort. But to make them feel like they're more woven into each other, where you have all your, you know, the majority of those events on that combined tour are going to be, you know, American based, you know, tour stops that have been here for years, right? But if you could make it feel like more, more like you're weaving in and out of both schedules so that you get to the global tour place, that to me is so much cooler. And so maybe it starts with looking at some of these fall DP World Tour tour dates, you can schedule and get guys over there. I mean, I don't know. To me, I know you probably get tired of being on the road all year as a tour pro. I can't speak to that. You probably can better. But we need to take the family for a European vacation, you know, play one week and then how to go around Europe after like really talking about really talking about, you know, playing once a month in the fall is really all it is. You know, some of the months you may play twice, but some of the months you may not even play at all. So from my, from my perspective, it's, it's, I think it's in the situation right now, I think they play too much golf in the PGA tour. I think it's too bunched up. Can you find a way to spread it out just a little bit? Now, I know the, the busy time of the year, we want to be playing week after week. But when we got to the end of the year and you got to just jam these playoff events and back to back to back and, in these locations that are the hottest, some of the hottest places that we have in the States, that's where it just is like, man, is there a better way? Can we figure this out? This, and I'm just looking at the fall schedule here, everything that's like effectively post FedEx Cup playoffs. And it's like, Omega European Masters in Switzerland, like, who doesn't want to go to Switzerland this time of the year, like hang out some cool mountain air with the family? Irish Open, BMW PGA Open, Spanish Open, the Dunhill, an amazing program, played some of Scott, you know, Scotland's best courses. And, and you know, like, even some of the other, the end of the year where you got, you know, the, the, the French Open, you've got, you know, the, the, the, the, on Lucio Masters, you know, there's a cool way to do it is it's like, you know, how we reward the top 30 at the end of the year for making the tour championship. It seems like to me that would be a category. It's like, Hey, if you make it to the top 30, you're eligible to be exempt into these amount of events, the DP world tour. And, and maybe it's up to the top 50 guys, right? Like, if, if they don't fill out 30 or whatever, it's sure, you know, to cut off, but that's a way in which, all right, we're, we've been having DP world tour players come over, but we don't have a way in which the guys can, can go and play to, you know, if they want to go try to win the race to Dubai, like where he mackerelays to try to do for his sixth time, you know, that's an opportunity for these guys to play more globally if they, if they choose to. That's now that's a really good idea, because you could almost then do it where having to, it would effectively amount to an appearance fee, but say, okay, here's your bonus that you get for winning the FedEx Cup and it's this amount or, you know, it's whatever, but you get like a $2 million kicker. If you go over and play and these events on the European tour, whatever, just make it enough to where guys say, oh, yeah, I actually would like the bonus to go over there. And then it's, and then the way you, you said it there that I thought was really good is we keep taking your best guys. Let's give you something back. Like let's send you some of our best guys so you can go watch the stars of the game playing in your countries on your highs. I, I really like that. I think Billy Horshel's been the best at, you know, one of the few Americans that's made it a priority to go and play year after year on the European tour and the DP world tour. And I have to give him a lot of credit for doing that because it's not easy to do after a very long season, but he's found, you know, such a, you know, niche, right? Like you got such a great fan and audience over there in, in Europe and he's, I'll tell you what, watching him at the Open Championship, you would have thought he was from Birmingham, England. And that's what it really did. It felt that way. And he's, he's kind of the adopted European tour player that's American. I think, you know, it'd be fun to see, you know, Rory macro, obviously coming down the stretch of the Irish Open, throws Andrew Shoflin. I think Royal County down or Scotty Shofler or Justin Thomas, Jordan's like, I just, the list goes on of guys. Like we see these guys at the major championships of these iconic venues. I'd love to see it year round on a global stage. And it's the infrastructure is kind of already built there. You know, the Rolex series is, it's been there a very long time. Can you interweave the PGA tour in that? It seems like a no-brainer. I don't know why we haven't talked about it before, but this is a way in which we, you know, can, can answer those, those, those questions that Rory McRoy has like, we got to unite the guys, like, well, maybe it's right there in front of you. And the schedule's already lined up and maybe find a way to get some live tour players here and there and there. And then great, boom, you're done. Yeah, this is, I'll say this smiley of all of our various golf-free alignment discussions we've had. This is nearing the top of my list. I think this is, this one and move the Zurich Classic to two weeks or week before the Ryder Cup and or the President's Cup. I think those are our two best ideas we've had. You're selling me on it mainly just because the weather at that time of the year in late April in New Orleans typically is, is hit or miss. Most of the time it's, you'll just get some nasty thunderstorms other than that. I don't know. I don't know. We'll, we'll come back to it. Listen, we got a good idea. A lot of ideas in the country just figure out the fall man. The fall is just, yeah, God, don't even get me started. The fact that like the fact that the Corn Fairy Tour is in their playoffs right now is such a disgrace. Like they're, their season should end the same time that the tour championship ends so that we can get these rookies on the PGA Tour this fall. It's such a, like we should have all 30 guys playing in all of these events in the fall. And it's, no, they're not playing your FedEx Cup points, but it gives them a full fall to figure out. Hey, this is like, okay, this catty doesn't work for me. Okay, traveling's a little different now. I'm going to need to hire some more people. It's basically an opportunity to go, if you win a golf tournament, great, you're in the winners category. If not, after the six fall events, you're like, okay, like I know what I need to work on for PGA Tour Golf. That's, that's my other big bug will be right now is how the fall is being treated. Yeah, they should be out there. Meanwhile, Meredith and Scotty and Bennett Scheffler and Kranz Lourier, I certainly said that wrong. Switzerland, enjoying the Omega European Masters. We've got them all fixed. The whole thing fixed. I think, I think that's, I think that's probably the best stopping point for this, because we are, we fixed it, first of all, second of all, we do have more high leverage golf to talk about coming up this week. I'm ready. I'm sporting my, I got my wrong sleeve on here because I can't figure out weird cameras. I got my gear on. I'm ready to defend the cup. President's Cup is here, smiley. And in addition to the stuff we got to, we got to talk about, we have another presenting sponsor in the mix this week that we're thrilled to be partnered with ahead. So ahead is there are a strategic partner for enterprise clients, helping them navigate the path toward digital transformation, much like an expert caddy, reading the course ahead and providing the winning combination of equipment and execution. You can check out www.ahead.com right now to learn how a head can accelerate your impact. But smiley, right now a heads here to help us produce today's show. So thank you ahead. We're talking about expert teams right now. So a heads got, a heads got one of the most talented rosters in the world with more than 1600 engineers. And each one of those engineers is, is obsessed with client success with more than 3000 certifications. Their deep technical expertise makes them adept at integrating complex technologies into holistic digital platforms. That's on the ahead side. We had to talk about two more very talented rosters. These ones assembled by Jim Furek and Mike Weir. We've talked a little bit about this on the show before smiley, but the captains picks. And I think there's no better segue than the topic we just came from where we just watched Billy Horshel win the BMW PGA Championship, wondering if he should be on the team, looking at past resumes of guys that maybe got left off. Here's a place I want to start because I think it's kind of interesting from a picks perspective and just looking back at some of the research packets. Do you think Jim Furek in just taking the first six guys or the next six guys on that points list past the six qualifiers was in some way, shape or form, trying just to prove a point of like, Hey, heard all the clamor last year for the Ryder Cup about, you know, boys club this and that was that in some way, sort of a message of like, you guys had it that way. Now I'm just going to go straight off the points list system. There can't be any critique of me at that point. You know what? There's there's so many stats guys that that they use. They have all this and information, all these analytics to help build these teams. And it's a very difficult thing to do. And I think with, you know, how it's shaped out that it just happened to be the top 12 guys on points and the best as far as like, when you move up and down the official world golf rankings, it actually was the best 12 that the United States has at this point. You know, it makes you, I guess, maybe sounds like Bryce and I assume he's probably out there, but he's not eligible. But with that being said, I, I still, you know, it's so difficult to do, right? I can make a case for Billy Horst. I can make a case for Oxchapotia. I can make a case for Justin Thomas. And I can make plenty of cases for guys that are on the team that shouldn't be on the team. But it's, it's Jim Fierick's team. It's he's got assisted captions to help make these decisions. And I think the golf course plays a huge part in how and why these guys were picked. But, you know, I think they got their work cut out for him. I really feel like this international team is, is very underrated. I'm, I'm interested a little bit in the picks on the international side to see how they perform. But, you know, I was impressed with how Mackenzie Hughes has played this year. It's got a very hot putter. And he's a guy that I felt like was a pick that that was much more of a reach. I would say from the Mike Weer side, then I feel like Jim Fierick had an opportunity to reach for, for a player or two. If he wanted to to go grab a guy that's, you know, 16 or 17th on points, like maybe a Billy Horshel, who's had a very hot run. That would have been a captain saying, you know what? I'm trusting my gut on this. I'm going with, with Billy Horshel. And then he wins in Wentworth. You're like, you know what, that would have been a great pick looking back. But now with, with, with way these teams have shaped up, I'd think that it's going to be, it's going to come down to, like when you and I have read the research documents, I was shocked, absolutely shocked that the international team has been so competitive. But it's just been the Forsoms play that has killed him. And that's, you wouldn't think that would be something that would be such a struggle. Like you, excuse me, I'd say the best ball, not Forsoms, the best ball, which is the, you know, where they play their own ball. And for the most part, it'd be all the birdies. Like I would have guessed the Forsoms play, which is the alternate shot would have been the issue. It's, it's interesting. And there are a view sent over a stat packet that I was really enjoying digging into. And there is one kind of big stat indicator where when the Americans go on the road, that's scoring, even though they've won every time, but they've, they've tied, they've lost once and they've tied once and have won every other iteration of the President's Cup. But those away games get a lot closer to scoring than the home games do. And so that's why I'm intrigued to see this iteration of the President's Cup. And it's being played at a venue. This is the third repeat host of the President's Cup. Royal Montreal also hosted a 2007 iteration of this event that Jim Fierick actually played in. So here, here's kind of, just kind of a refresher. We're talking about captains picks. We're talking about roster composition. We're just going through those rosters one more time to let people know. I'm going to go through alphabetically and give you each of their records as well in this competition. So you on the American side, Keegan Bradley, who was a captains pick. So overall records two, two and one. Sam Burns, also a captains pick overall record, oh, three and two. Oh, hold on. Can I stop you there? Well, that is one that I want to get into later in the show. We're talking about pairing because I know where you're going with that. I'm, I'm just going to say that Sam Burns, I know where you're going with that. That President's Cup played way, way, way, way better than that record. And that is why later in the show, I want to dig into whether we should be trying some different pairings and also whether his partner that he took to that record, because both of them are rookies last time out, if that guy's going to be a little more motivated this time around to kind of turn that ship around. So continuing down the list, Patrick Cantlay, six, three and oh, Wyndham Clark, a rookie in the President's Cup, of course, played in his first team event, the senior level at the Ryder Cup last year, Tony Feenow, captains picked three, two and three lifetime, Brian Harmon and other captains pick who is a rookie this year, but obviously again, played in the Ryder Cup last year, Russell Henley, captains pick and a rookie in any senior international competition for the Americans, Max Homa, captains pick for O and O in his first time out, Quill Hall, last year, despite struggling of late on the tour, Colmore, Kawa, lifetime two, one and oh, Xander Shoffley, lifetime six, three and oh, Scottie Scheffler, lifetime oh, three and one, and Sahitha Gala, a qualifier and a rookie on this team. So you know to the one that stands out the most, the record for Sam Burns and Scottie Scheffler, any other guys on the list, you're surprised by either their level of experience, their lack of experience, their record, anything that the pops to you when you go through that roster list and hear how they played lifetime in the president's cup. Yeah, it's just the if you would have showed me that this was the team at the beginning of the year, I would have been surprised by a couple names, but I think this team in general, I'm just curious how they're going to gel like from a chemistry standpoint, you know, you've had, you know, such an old guard that's been a part of so many of these teams, you know, Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, you know, these have been the guys have been the leaders in the players that have been in these rooms year after year, no, none of those three guys are there this year, you know, Brooks Kepka, Dustin Johnson, like those are the guys we've been used to seeing on these teams as well as a Bryson de Shambo. So I just want to see how this team is going to gel. And when I look at just how, you know, these teams sometimes the composition for picks can be made just to see how, you know, who does get along with each other, who can play well together. But I think a guy like Keegan Bradley playing his way onto this team, he seems to me to be a player that not only can bring the game, but also I think can bring a little bit of veteran experience knowing that he's going to be a potential captain. I think he'll take more of a leadership role on this team when I think about the best players in the world. He got Scottie Schofler and Xander Schofle. They both are kind of, you know, I know Scottie's super competitive in Xander, just as a guy that, you know, puts the team the ground against goes and gets the job done. But I think it's nice to have vocal leaders as well outside of a captain. And I think Keegan Bradley and maybe even an upper-comer like Sam Burns, you know, and Wyndham Clark, we he's never been, you know, he doesn't hold back in interviews as well. So I think that's the part I'm looking forward to the most. Besides the golf, I think the golf will sort itself out. I think that how this, this team is going to gel is going to determine if they're, if they're successful or not, I really, I think the golf is good enough. But are these guys willing to play for one another and, you know, rise to the challenge? Because I think, you know, when you look at the record, right? Charlie, like, you know, the US has been really successful. How motivated are they to win? I think I agree with all that. I think it's interesting. You watch the Americans through different lens than you watch the internationals, fair or not, because of that historic record in this competition. If it was closer, be more about just wins and losses and best team. But this is almost like a, I want to see how these guys play in this environment so that I can, you know, see how they're going to handle Bethpage Black next year. And I think that the ones I have pinpointed that I find very intriguing storyline wise are, you know, to Wyndham Clark, I think Wyndham took a lot of flack fairly or unfairly after their performance last year in Rome. I think definitely that's something that he probably has processed and even talked about the preparation needed to take it to a different level for this time around. So I would not be surprised to see him come out firing in Montreal and really say, because this is two road games in Rome for him, right? You know, from Rome to Montreal. And it's like, you know, playing in a hostile environment. This is going to be really good experience for him. So I think that's one I'm paying attention to. I think Tony Fienau, a guy, anytime like you're on a team, you have all the talent in the world, then you have a dip in form and missed out in the Ryder Cup team last time around, like making it back there. I think it is big in terms of saying, all right, I need to prove that I can stick here and belong and keep my form up. And iron plays been phenomenal. So I'm excited to see him show up and play in Montreal. I think Russell Henley is so I was about to say the same thing. So intriguing. Like, what if this guy just shows up? We know we know he's a phenomenal player. We know is like ball striking stats are, you know, off the charts. Good. Like, what if this guy just shows up and he's a match play dog? No one can beat him. He's just one of the most solid performers. And you have yet another name in that mix every single year where you're like, Golly, but you can't leave Russell Henley off this team. Because he's, you know, he's just indispensable in this format. Those are the three I'm really intrigued about. I think you just just bringing up Russell Henley. And at the very beginning, this, you know, I've talked about Sam Burns and if you look to the strokes gained as far as how well he played at Quill Hollow and just got nothing out of it. Like if it was a stroke play event, he would have won. That's how that's how good he was playing. And unfortunately, just went up against guys that just happen to have great matches as well. He's played he played some with Scottie Sheffler that week. And if you were to split up those two guys, I really think that Scottie Sheffler, I think, would pair up so tremendously well with Russell Henley. And the reason why I say that is I'm not necessarily just their games. Like Russell Henley's a great iron player, good wedge player, you know, good putter as well. Not the longest hitter. But I just think that when you compare or when you when you look at these two guys, I think they're just so so competitive. When you look at anything that they do, they just if you're playing whatever sport it is, like Scottie Sheffler wants to beat you in whatever it is. And Russell Henley could look at his history. He was an all state basketball player, just a gritty type of point guard, a type of guy that that you knew was going to block up the best guy on the other team, but also couldn't go get you a bucket. I think there's something to be said for that when it comes to match play, when you're just got to go and beat the guy in front of you. So I think you put two competitive guys on the same team as well as I think you maybe even a gritty Brian Harmon, like is also in that same category that could pair well with Scottie. But we'll see, you know, like, I think you we've had all these, you know, pairings with, you know, Jordan and JT and Patrick and Xander. We think Sam and Scottie, but they're good friends. But I'd be interested to see if if maybe Sam finds his guy, you know, in this, this President's Cup. And then let's see if Scottie finds his guy that we might talk about as, oh, this is a heck of a partnership. I'll listen, I have lots of thoughts, but you're, you're jumping the gun, you're jumping my sake score gun a little bit here. So I'm gonna, I have this program to the latter part of the show. We are gonna dig into pairings and I cannot wait to do that. That's one of my favorite things to do whenever we have a Ryder Cup or a President's Cup come around. So I'm holding there. I'm gonna switch over to the international team. The same thing. Let's just do like overall lay of the land, talking about these guys individually, the team composition, the picks, the mic we were made. So running through alphabetical order on this team, been on overall record in this competition, one, two and two, Christiane Bezet now, who was a captains pick. This is, he's one, oh, and one lifetime in this competition. Corey Connors was a captains pick, oh, four and oh, in this competition lifetime. Jason Day, lifetime, five, 11, and four, he's played in four President's Cups. Mackenzie Hughes captains pick is a rookie, sung JM five, three and two lifetime in the President's Cup. See who Kim was a captains pick, four, three and oh, Tom Kim, who may as debut quail hollow, two, three and oh, men will Lee, who was both a captains pick and a rookie, Becky Matsuyama, who's seven, 10 and five in the President's Cup, Taylor Pendreth captains pick oh, four and oh, and Adam Scott, who is a lifetime 18, 25 and six, he's played a lot of having played in 10 Presidents Cup. I love that. Dude, Adam Scott is our like Ironman, like Cal Ripken, but maybe even better than Cal Ripken overall. The guys like, his major streak is insane. He's played a zillion these Presidents Cup. I just, I, I just had to start there, like, we're gonna get the team. I just, I have so much love and respect for what Adam Scott has done in the game golf. Oh gosh. Yes. I mean, he's been on a lot of losing teams. It'll tell you that, right? But he's, he's been a part of the process in, in building a culture, right? I mean, we're talking about so many different, different countries, you know, guys that speak different languages. I'm sure that there's been plenty of teams that he has been on, where he just knows instantly that it's just so hard to bond with these guys. You just go out and you, you hope that, that it works out, but it's just really difficult when you don't speak the same language as someone else. But this team just seems like they really get along from the pictures I've seen from, from guys on their, on their trip. They just recently took right after the tour championship to up to Royal Montreal. Then we leave posted some photos and it just, it just came across that, that these guys really, you know, have, they're on a mission. And I really am a believer that this team can be the team to, to actually beat the US as, as loaded as they may seem. I just think that the golf course I think potentially could suit them with some rough, a little tighter fairways, you know, the Canadian fans that could be very boisterous. So I don't know, I just, I feel, I feel very strongly about the chances for the international team. I know the format probably favors more of the US. I think that this was more of a Ryder Cup format with a day less of play. I think, you know, the, the West golf you play the, you know, maybe it's, well, it's more of a depth thing, right? I think the more, the more golf you play, it just seems like the depth of the US just outshines. It seems like the international team. But I think the depth is, is gotten better. Like you have young stars, like Minwoo Lee that, that we've had on this podcast that aren't like the depth that they used to have at the back of the lineup. We're talking about a potential superstar in the game down the road. That's the type of players that are on this team and some budding stars I've been on who, you know, has had an incredible year this year. So there's players that I think are, are a bit new to international golf at this point, Charlie, that I think could have breakout international. Excuse me, President Scott. Yeah, I mean, without a doubt, and I think it's a nice mix to some of these vets and some of these younger guys. I think so too. Once you find the right combos and we'll get into that, you know, shortly here, I'll say I do the same thing. As I did on the American side of kind of picking out some names that I like, but I'll be honest to say, I just need to get with your boys over at ABC Golf Channel and figure out what the Peacock feature group situation is going to be because I want to see every golf shot that Minwoo Lee hits in this, in the President's Cup, because I, I've just, you know, we, he was on the show. We love him. Great guy. Just love watching him play golf, phenomenally talented, does stuff that very few people on the surf can do with the golf ball. And I just want to see what it's like for him in this sort of environment, because I think that, you know, it, everyone's on different schedules. And so you can't just assume that a guy who's immensely talented is just going to start winning on tour right out of the gate. But I think probably it's fair to say that you and I both in the past year, year and a half have been surprised that he hasn't played better in the opportunities he's had or, you know, been in and around the lead at certain tournaments and just like went out there and got the thing done in one. And I think this to me is a real opportunity to get some big time match play experience with everyone watching and gain some confidence where he can come out next year and really start rounding into the PGA tour player that we think he is. It's a big moment for a lot of guys. And I think that'll be the difference in this. We, you know, the depth that I just kind of spoke of, it's like, how, how can these young guys that haven't been a part of the international team and the President's Cup, how are they going to respond when, you know, you get down three early to max home and Commonwealth Cal. You know, that's, that's going to be interesting in this, this President's Cup, although they're going to have the fans behind them. You know, when I think about the last one, right, this was an absolute, a blowout at Quill Hollow. It just seemed like it was over before it started. And then the international team started to find their footing and made it to an 11-7 ball game heading into the last, last day, but it was 8-2 after the first, after that Friday day and you're like, man, this is, this is going to be a snoozer. But it's, they just got to get off to a fast start. And I think, you know, with, with having to play five matches at first day, you know, only two guys are going to sit out. Are they going to try to hide some guys that they feel like aren't informed? And it'll be interesting to see what Mike Weir does because I sit here and look at, you know, a very solid roster. But who are some of these names that, that we instantly put together in our heads that have played, you know, in a lot of these President's Cup international team, where they've played together and had success? I, I can't even look down the, down the list and say, I'm sure Adam Scott and Hideki have played a lot. How well they've done is another story. How, what's Mike Weir going to do? You know, that, I think that's going to be a big question, Mark. Well, listen, we, we've danced around it. We throw out some ideas. Let's just get right to that portion of the show. And so let's just, let's wrap up here with a big thanks to ahead for the production assist on the expert teams segment there and, and look forward to the rest of this week of just a lot of other segments like that supported by ahead. But we're now going over to the next ahead supported segment here. One of our favorite exercises, we're looking at these rosters, we're making match play teams. And once again, ahead providing us some support. So I had builds and manages digital platforms that power the most successful organizations in the world. Their consultative approach, unmatched engineering and innovative solutions combined to accelerate the impact of technology in every client they serve. I had also has incredible, longstanding relationships built on outcomes and experience with both their clients and some high profile technology partners. And once again, you can learn more about all of that by going to www.ahead.com. So smiley, just like ahead, there are some key trust based relationships on the American and international sides. Let's get anyway, who let's, let's start where do you want to go team USA first? Or do you want to go international first, start putting some, put some guys together on these match play, these four ball and four, some teams? Yeah, no, let's just keep on that international side. I feel like there's, there's a way in which we can kind of sort through to see, you know, who would pair best together? You know, the interesting thing about when you look at the international team is that would be super easy to put the guys that hang out and play with each other the most. And I think that it's, that it's safe to assume that, you know, putting a guy like, you know, whether be see Woo Kim when, and sung JM together, that seems like it would make sense. They speak the same language. They're good friends. That's kind of the way I seem to want to go and see Jason Day playing with a Min Woo Lee. That, that just makes sense in my, in my mind, or a Min Woo Lee with an Adam Scott. That would, that would give me excited. I sure would love to see Day and Min Woo Lee on, on that, on that tee because they would show with some sort. Make us your game day headquarters this football season. Oh, without a doubt, I mean, I think the interesting thing in looking through the stats pack of the USEN over is looking at the difference in what you can just gather from up from a facelot or just a tree top strategy perspective of how both sides do their pairings. On the American side, you can look through and it's like, yeah, it's clear that once that guy found his partner, he played the majority and matches with that guy. Whereas there's definitely on the international side, more of a mix. Now, maybe part of that is, if you're getting beat a lot, you're trying new stuff. And so there's naturally going to have to be that partnership didn't work when we try the next one. And I also think that there is this interesting thing happening where Jason Day was on the 11, 13, 15 and 17 teams, but was it on the 19 team or the 22 team? And then you go right down. Some jam wasn't on any of those previous teams, but he was on the 19 and 22 teams. So just looking for patterns, there's not necessarily a ton there for some of guys of how you're going to kind of mix them together. I like what you've just thrown out from the gate, which is, you know, let's, let's first and foremost get mimely with an experienced Aussie, whether that's Adam or Jason Day, I think both kind of suit. And then from there, it's, you know, are we going to try to throw out, you know, like a big hitter, like a Taylor Pinterest. That's an interesting one. Good putter, like a Mackenzie Hughes, or you're like, that's your Canadian combo there. Taylor was over for that last president's cup. And he was so poor. And that's the one to me is, is that if you would have told me that Taylor was the guy that made this team over Nick Taylor and Adam had when I was told you're crazy at the beginning of the year, but he's been playing so well. I think Taylor Pendreth could be a horse for the international team if he stays in that form. But I'm not sure if this is the type of golf horse that maybe quite suits his game as much seems to be maybe a bit of more of an accuracy test. Not to say that he doesn't hit it accurate. It just seems like he would be a player that would play better on a bigger park, although he was open for Quail Hollow, which I would consider to be a very big part. Well, so he played, he played with Mito Pereira. He played with Corey Connors, and he played with Hideki Matsuyama. And so he kind of mixed there, you know, I guess with Mito and Corey, he only lost one down, but then with Hideki, he loses four and three to JT and Jordan. And then, you know, so we talked a little bit about Adam and Jason Day, but looking at a guy like Hideki Matsuyama, who's obviously been in good form of late, he played with Adam and lost, and I guess he lost one one one, lost to Kent Lane Zander, beat Cam Young and Cole Morikawa, played with Tom Kim, lost that match and just mentioned played with Taylor Pendreth, lost that match. So like finding a partner for Hideki, you know, wondering if it's, do you stick him with a vet like they did to kind of vary success at Quail Hollow with Adam Scott? Or are you trying to pair him with a young guy because he has experience in this competition? Yeah, I think Adam's going to be so easy to pair. You know, he's going to play, right? It's just a matter of like, who's the guy that we want to get comfortable? And I imagine that he would be playing with somebody that's probably much more on the rookie side, or do they go with a Hideki like you were just talking about who's got a ton of, who's had a ton of success. One player, I know we've kind of talked a little bit earlier about guys that didn't make the United States team mention Billy Horstchel, Akshay, JT, this international team mentioned some Canadians, I mentioned Adam Haddell, I mentioned Nick Taylor. Those are the big surprises of two guys that didn't make it. But one guy, I really am surprised that he's not on this team is Cam Davis. Yeah, after, I mean, so when's the rocket mortgage on that, right? I think that was the where, where Akshay came up short. Yeah, to me, that's a guy that I guess you just have to kind of see what the strategy is once it kind of unfolds and my career puts it seems 100%. Yeah, who he's pairing where, but it seems like a guy like maybe you're feeling like you're duplicating too much between him and a Taylor Pendreth. I just that profile player. I don't know. I just felt like Cam Davis was good at the last president's cup. To me, he's got, he's got a lot of high quality shots in his game. He's very impressive when you watch him. I just felt like that, you know, with him, with Mike, we were taking McKenzie taking also Min Wu, like those two guys, I felt like, you know, maybe didn't earn their way on the team or just, you know, didn't have the quite as much of the benefit of the doubt as a guy that I felt like Nick Taylor has had success. You know, maybe, you know, Adam had one is played on these teams as well. But then Cam Davis just seemed like an up and comer that was surprised to not see him make this team. So I think that definitely kind of begs the question of what is Mike we're going to do with his lineup? Because he has to have a plan to me for Taylor Pendreth. He's got to have a plan for Min Wu Li. And I think he's got to have a plan for McKenzie Hughes as well as I think Seabed as well. Like, I think he needs like going into this when you look at this roster. I think all four of those guys have the capabilities of making an in making a serious impact in this in this presence cup. But I have question marks about all four of them on on who they're going to play with and can, you know, if things start heading south of any of those guys, you know, can you hide them? And who do you hide them with? And that that to me is the big question mark. Yeah, it is a high risk high reward strategy it seems like, right? Where if those guys, if what you have in your head in terms of strategy of, you know, a great putter like Seabes or McKenzie Hughes, you put them with the right guy and all of a sudden they have the formula that's kind of unlocking how to beat some of these American players, you look like a genius. But to your point, if they're not playing well and it goes up in flames, this one can turn to a blow out real quick. I, you know, I I applaud Mike Weir for the creativity. You're going to get questions asked of you, no matter who you pick, right? You know, of course, some guy got left to home. And I even think like the men will leave pick, I completely understand what you're staying based on form. But I do think it's like using a developmental slot of sorts on a guy that you feel like a pan out big in the future. Yeah, it's it's almost going to get criticized. It's an auction type of a pick. Like that would be that would be the equivalent of Jim Furek picking Akshay Batia. So that's what the difference when you look at the team, the Jim Furek picked and the team that Mike Weir picked. It seemed like like Mike Weir's trying to find the perfect formula and maybe overthought some things where Jim Furek's like, you know what, I'm just going to go one to 12, try to beat our best 12. I think it's and that's it's hard for that to be controversial. I think with that, that's a perfectly little flip over to the American side. We've thrown out some pairings. You you led into one earlier that I want to pick back up on because I love it so much. Keegan Bradley's played in President's Cup once, right? He's played in obviously other Ryder Cups, but 2013 played with Phil all four matches match played. Not on the team this year. Not on the team this year, but I'm saying, give me plug in another dog match play. You went, you went, Brian Harmon. I want the harms, Keegan. I think that's a great parent that you love that, man. I love Keegan, Brad, I mean, Brian harm together, even though Max home and Brian Harmon seem to be kind of a thing. That one, Max and Tony Fiena played great Aquil Hollow. So kind of moving some guys around the board a little bit. I would, I'm all in that. I'm all in there. Keegan, we talked to him on the pod. If you haven't listened to when we spoke with Keegan Bradley at the Tour Championship this year, that's a great one to listen to. He talks about him being the Ryder Cup captain, potentially making the team. This is before the picks, obviously, a week or actually a couple days later. And he didn't know if he's going to be on any more of these scenes. And we felt pretty comfortable he would be on the scene. He is. And so definitely mentioned that Miguel and Hela Jimenez, I was like, you know, Keegan, I've talked to you about this. When you play match play, you kind of get a little psycho. He's like, yeah, it's a bit of a problem. And so I want to see him with somebody that can match that type of, like, I don't, like, I don't even know who you are. Why are you shaking my hand type of energy? And Brian Harmon can match that. I love that so much. I want to see those two guys together. Just talked about there. I know Max and Brian were, you know, maybe the best parent we had over in Roman losing effort, but I was just kind of looking at somebody's other stats and saying, I like what you threw out earlier. I like trying to kind of mix it up with Sam and Scotty a little bit and go Russell Henley with Scotty. That could be a great pairing. It's an easy way for Ricky too, right? Like Russell Henley shows up in the first scene. He's got Scotty as a partner. I think that to me, if I'm a rookie, I want to be in, in, in a battle with the guy who's, who's been in every single battle that you can think of. And Scotty Sheffler is that guy on this team. So give me somebody to get these rookies going early. I mean, Russell Henley doesn't even feel like a rookie, although that he is. He's been around. He's known these guys. He's played against these guys. But he's a guy that, you know, he's got to be nervous as heck. He's going to be something he's never experienced before. So give him somebody that he knows he'll be in the middle of the fairway in the middle of the green and virtually every time. All right. So let me give you another little vet rookie combination. Okay. Sam Burns to hit the gala. And let me, here's my pitch on this. I know maybe it faced value, but like to hit the gala we had on the show earlier this year and he talks about the way he plays sometimes or sometimes he plays overly aggressive because he just likes playing that style. You pair him with the guy like Sam Burns. It's like one of the best putters in the world. Yeah. You know, a Lee wedge player. I mean, maybe the profiles don't fit exactly. No, I'll tell you why I like it. I'll tell you why I like it. I'll buy that because I think Sethi gala is an incredible iron player. I watched him play the part threes of the tour championship and I don't know. I'm just like hand picking a golf tournament, but to me, his part three play is really impressive. And if I had to look at one aspect of Sam's game that I that I've seen over the last couple of years that's held him back, it's it's to me is his ability to be consistent with his iron play. So you give him somebody like the gala who I feel like is a, you know, a very, very strong iron player as well as around the greens. And then you throw in Sam's ability to really drive and wedge and putt it well. It's like, all right, you kind of got me sold there because I think the gala is going to be, you know, I know he's a chess player, but I think he's a bit of a chess piece this week. If he's got his stuff, I think the gala is a guy that will shocks and people how how, you know, incredible he is at the game of golf because you go look at his stats, what he's been able to do this year. He's he's up there every single week. Speaking of we didn't talk about this to be a w this week. I don't wait back. Air rye. He was way up there got stuff to stat cheese. That was, we didn't even talk about it. We did we are rye guys that thank you for bringing that up. We're breaking into our regularly scheduled president's cup programming to just issue a statement in apology that we did not. We do not as rye guys cover air and rye. That was, I did see a shot on the 18th was a backbreaker hit it long into the water and was like just such an aggressive line. But you know, honestly, that reminded me of the driver off the deck at the rocket mortgage where we were just like, what are you doing right now? And just living on on the edge. It's funny because a guy like that who seems so analytical and precise. Just every once in a while does something that's insanely aggressive and it just delights me. So Aaron, good playing this week. You're always welcome on the pod. We are rye guys. Hope to see you here soon. And we are back to president's company. That was that was a guy. Sorry to get you off of that. The only other one I'd say is like, I assume that we're going to see Zander and Patrick together. But of course, Max home in Baltimore, Calla, I think is interesting to me. Both guys appointed Cal. Do we potentially see that? I think when them shoot, I don't know, man, when them and Max, they really want to, I think those two guys play well together. They played together at the Ryder Cup this past year and actually performed very nicely. I know everybody through six, the Ryder Cup was a complete wash and nobody played well. But we did have our moments here and there and Max and and Windham put together some nice moments. They played together one afternoon. So I think Max and Windham could play together. I think Colin, I think could kind of fall in that category as well. Colin really struggled at the Ryder Cup this past year. We saw what he did this year. I think he's going to be on a mission to really prove that he could be not only just a leader of this team as far as just what he does, you know, on the golf course, but really, you know, compete with, I think being the highest point scorer of the whole deal. I think Colin Morekow could potentially be the guy that you can just send out against their best and just expect him to get a point. Yeah, I could not agree with more. I mean, I think Colin Morekow, the fact that he did not win event on tour this year. Well, that was actually, well, because that was part of the, that was the double wrap around year that you're in the war. You want them to a championship? Oh, the adjusted strobes. Check, check, check the OG. Yeah, you know what? You're right. Yeah, you are. That is correct. Yeah. On a technicality. I have lost that argument. Yeah. I mean, well, and that's even more that hammers my point home even more than he wins an event. He doesn't even win it, which doesn't make any sense. Check the plans, man. That's it. WGR has got us back. But, but that's, I mean, that, that to me is like, he played such good golf this entire year. And every type of, you know, in signature events and majors in playoff events, the fact that he didn't take a trophy home is wild to me. And I think he's going to be very motivated to come and be one of the highest points scores on this team. And I'm going to carry that in the next year. So I think that's, yeah, well said. And the other, and then what's going to the international side of that same token of like, who's the guy that hasn't won this year, but also wouldn't surprise to see if he's the highest point scorer and a player that's been on a president's cup team before. We haven't talked about it yet. Tom Kim, he's the discipline, the disappointment from Tom Kim to, to not make it out of Memphis into the BMW, just some really like a struggle of a year for him, like never got the breaks. But why not Tom Kim on a golf course that I think potentially could really suit his game, drive it into the fairways? I think he could be a guy that could be a point-getter for the international team. Because when you look up and down this roster, you have to find at least four or five guys from this team that are going to be able to go out and get you a points. And when I look at the roster, I like the roster. I just don't know exactly who those partnerships are going to be that they can ride. When I look at the potential of this team, I like the, I like what they potentially have. I think what they can't afford to happen, I've already said this, cannot afford the same start that they had at the last President's Cup, where they were down eight to two after two days of play. So they need to get their teams right early, and they need to have their stars play really well early. Get off to a good start, get points on the board, and find a way to win a session. If they can win a session on Thursday or Friday, that to me is going to be a sign of okay. Because when you get to the singles play and international, excuse me, a President's Cup, that's where you're going to see the, you know, you just got to get the momentum of 12 guys on the golf course heading your way. Just get it close going into Sunday and then just rely on just the adrenaline of the crowd and the adrenaline of just trying to win it. I don't know why I keep wanting to call it an international cup, but I keep winning a President's Cup for the internationals. Well, and the great thing too, I think for Tom Kim is that, you know, after the way Memphis went is he went back to Tennessee to really kind of fix that up and come on with the trophy. He went down a Nashville and won the Justin Thomas's Foundation and Pro-Am, and that was also a part of the event as well. He had a really great partner there. I just, he just had to laugh. He just, he just beat Scotty Sheffler. He beat Nick Dunlap, he JT Ricky. I love that so much. And the world of like all these, these social media posts being like premium, premium real estate for high profile athletes. Shout out to my partner, Smiley Kaufman, for helping me win the Justin Thomas Foundation. I had some bad shots, I had some bad shots today, but I think I made like seven or eight birdies, but is that surprising? That doesn't surprise me. Even a tiny bit. That is exactly the Smiley Kaufman I know and love. And you know what, Smiley? This is perfect here because right now I'm going to thank huge thanks to the good people at a head. Check them out at www.ahead.com. For that trust-based relationship segment, like we said, we are going to do a lot of stuff with, with ahead this week. There have been a huge supporter of the show and we're thrilled to be partnered with them. But that is where I must segue because we got to close the show with like maybe a brief tobacco road teaser. I just like just give me a little bit of flavor. I am wholly obsessed with that golf course. I love that place so much. I remember the first time I played it, I couldn't stand it. And then I left and I didn't stop thinking about it for probably three months. And then I went back and played it again. I downloaded the course on a 2K video game to play it again. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I went back. I fell in love with it. I love that place so much. So I always love seeing people experience it for the first time and being like, what is going on here? So give me a little golf course review and then just a little bit of flavor what we can expect from this YouTube video we have dropping soon. You know, we played it when the conditions they had some rain. So it was soft. There was no wind. It was as easy as that golf course probably will ever play. You know, the golf ball move in, especially in the air. It wasn't very cool. So my impressions of the place is that it was visually intimidating. It was I found that it got more intimidating as it went. It seemed like there was so much of the blind tee shots that there was trouble, right? And right now, like my bugaboo, my bugaboo is when I'm hitting blind shots and that I don't know like what is right. You know, I do much, much better when I can see a football field to the right. And it's like, okay, now we're just swinging aggressive because if I happen to hit the heel, we're finding the golf ball. So I felt like it's a golf course that really requires me to visualize shots because it was really easy for me to try to hurry up shots as we got on that back nine to try to kind of steer it around. I felt like I got steary towards the end of the round. And but overall, I mean, I would want to play it again. It's a golf course that I know the farmer it got, the more wind that there was, it would be even more of a challenge. And I really appreciate golf courses that give you room, but make you feel like you don't have room. And those are the ones I like to play again. Because typically, when I go back and play it, I typically play it better. Yeah, it is. We had a lot of fun out there. Really so much on that so much. Hopefully you're watching us on YouTube and you're already subscribed. So you should be all set. If you're not, if you're listening to this, go over to the YouTube subscribe, that'll be dropping sometime in the month of October. So we're pumped about that. And let's see, you promised some form of a member guest review. And please just on the topic of hitting balls close to the heel or maybe even further away from the heel. And the direction you don't want to be going. We look, I didn't play bad. I think I shot 73 in the practice round. I'm thinking like, I might get this thing going this weekend. And then I think I had like shot 36 in our first nine. But as a team, we didn't play so well. And there was kind of like, this is going to be an uphill battle. And then you turn your partner into the boss. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's a team. It was a team loss. Team loss. We're not down the part of the bus. All right, we'd never do such a thing played with your buddy, your, your financial advisor, Eddie, in the second match. He was an awesome hang, love hanging with Eddie. How's this game? He's, dude, he was, I think I was cutting him. I don't know how many shots. I was like two or three shots. And he was whooping up on me. I mean, he was, he played great. Yeah. He had a couple, you know, holes that we all have that are bad. But he, I thought he played phenomenally well. Yeah. Great. Great. Hey, though, most importantly, great. Hey, good. But here's your, here's your on course review. So we get, we get blank day one, oh, over three. And we're like trying to mount a little comeback on, on day two, after this is after Habachi nights, like I'm like a shell of myself, like I'm a skeleton. Just, I don't know what I have no business being on a golf course. And fifth hole, like I think we, we win like the first two holes. And we're, we're, you know, we have one in there and we're like, we're, we're getting to go a little bit. I like pipe a drive on five and I've got like a little kind of, you know, massage, a little gap wedge in there, just hauls a rock at this thing, dead OB, just watching my hopes and dreams, like skitter through the pine straw, past the white soldiers across the road, just it. Yeah, just the wedge shanks. Your question. Did you, did you go walk across the road or into the house to retrieve the ball? Did you go get it? I actually, this is where I will throw my partner under the bus. I was like, like, you go get that ball. Like that's, that's it's a little bit of smeathe and growler vibes. Go get that for me, dude. I'm going to stay here. I'm going to the bed. You haven't done anything all week. At least go get my shanked wedge shot. I'll get his transfusions. You get the shank ball. I'll see you on 60. Guys, those are good. All right. So one way that walk was for your partner. Do you know how lonely that walk was? He probably thought about his girlfriend that broke up with him when he was 14 years old. Thought about that car that he still wishes he didn't sell. I mean, just all the memories coming back of man. Can you imagine if that that team didn't win that game? Like where he'd be in life and out in this walk to going to get your shank golf ball? Meanwhile, you're be bopping over the cart lady, getting you a couple of transfusions. Hey, I got one for him. So, you know, that has to go. Listen, this is, this is one of my best friends in the world, went to college together. We've sat through enough North Carolina football losses. And that really brings us full circle. Are we going to, are we going to go there? JMU hanging 70 on us on a home game. Mac Brown, Mac Brown retiring and unretiring. Mac Brown 3.0 here has begun. We've been through enough of that to where walking across the street to get my shank wedge is probably not that high on this list of disappointments. I was watching the highlights of the game and it's like, man, they're going to score 50 on them. And it's like two minutes left in the fourth quarter. And I look up and I was like, it's, that's, that's a two. It's, it's still in the first half. It's a problem. They're going to hold, they're going to hang up a hundred on them. We have a quarterback, though. My God, to Colby, Chris. Well, Chris, well, for 475 yards, just don't care. Yeah. That was it. I speak for everybody still still here with us. We don't care. Yeah. That was a tough scene. Washing down the card during member guests, but really fun week in Ho Valley. Just, I just, you know, for the people that are listening, if any of them are at the club, Bob Burns, his crew did the best job, told everyone all week long, smile. He's two favorite holes out here, 11 and 14, just like Ben Hogan. They love that. That was another conversation we get into. How many courses have you been to where Ben Hogan or Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicholas, and a members driving around telling you that, oh, this was Ben Hogan's favorite hole when he was here. This was Arnold Palmer's favorite. I mean, I was like, how many favorite holes are these guys half? It's, you got to say it. You got to do it. You got to have something. Did you bite your tongue a little bit when you said it to me? Like, did it feel like, like, this has been, you know, well, how many times have you said that? I kind of got caught out there, because it's something that you say to everybody, but not everybody is like smiley coffee. He's put on the PGA tour and is like, been to thousands of golf courses in historic places and have people tell them stories like that. So as soon as I started telling it to you, I was like, Oh, yeah, this isn't going to land as great as I thought it was. And you were ready, by the way, you pounced on it. Oh, yeah. It was, it was a, I felt like a little brim meeting a Cheeto and in a little, little pond in nowhere, Alabama. Okay. That's all the podcast we were doing tonight, because there's nothing we can say it's going to be better than that. Thank you so much for watching and listening.
