Happy reconciliation day!

Today is September the 30th and this is Radhika here and I want to take a moment to recognize the National Reconsolation Day. It's a day for healing, understanding and most importantly coming together expressing gratitude as a community. We acknowledge that we are gathered on the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendad, the Senaka and most recently the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Toronto is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metas people. We recognize the enduring presence of indigenous people on this land and honor their stewardship throughout the generations. We also acknowledge the significant contributions and struggles of immigrants who have come from all corners of the globe to make Toronto their home. Their resilience, diversity and cultural richness have shaped the fabric of our city. Let us all close our eyes and connect by taking a few mindful breaths of gratitude and privilege for the opportunities and resources that have allowed us to gather and be together today. We commit to acknowledging and supporting both indigenous peoples and immigrants in their ongoing struggles for justice, reconciliation and belonging. Whether it's mending broken relationships with family, friends or even with our communities, reconsolation is about forgiveness, finding a common ground and expressing our sincere gratitude. Let's all take that step forward mending the relationships that matter most to us. A simple apology, a kind word or just listening can go a long way. It's so easy to break something but putting it back together once it's broken is much harder. So let's focus on repairing, not breaking and at the same time express our sincere gratitude to what we have and the resources that we are able to have today. Let's build a future based on unity and understanding. Happy National Reconsolation Day guys. Here I am in the clinic wearing an orange top. I hope you are also showing that in unity that you are supporting this National Reconsolation Day. (soft music) You
