Yasmeen Altaji gives a round-up of today's trends

This is trending with daily rundown of news from the Middle East and around the world brought to you by the National. From Abu Dhabi, I'm Yasmin Altaji, here on today's headlines. An Israeli air strike hit a residential apartment near the Kola Bridge in Beirut on Monday. It's the first attack on central Beirut since the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah began on October 8. The strike occurred just over 48 hours after the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut's southern suburbs, bombardment is continuing. In Yemen, at least four people have been killed and others wounded in Israel strikes on the port of Hadada on Sunday, according to the Houthi-linked Al-Mazira news outlet. The Houthi Supreme Political Council said two power stations and a power tank site were struck. Houthis have been carrying out strikes on Israel and the Red Sea in solidarity with Palestinians of Gaza. And the UAE has condemned an attack that targeted its head of mission in Khartoum, Sudan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the attack "hainous" and said it resulted in extensive damage to the building. The UAE has also called on the Sudanese army to assume full responsibility, saying the attack came from a military aircraft. It comes amid Sudan's continuing war.
