Did you hear what I said? So this is a babe council. I had no doubt about them. That doesn't suck If you don't like it you're bad last question. Were you high on drugs? Last question kiss my We go fm talk 1 065 mid-day mobile on this Monday. I'm glad to have you along and remember if you've forgotten over the weekend Maybe With all the excitement of the weekend and football or whatever you forgot the phone number. It's okay I'm here to remind you three four three zero one zero six three four three zero one zero six gets you through on the telephone and on the text line and Several y'all this morning have been chiming in with the talk back feature and that talk back features on the fm talk 1 065 app, which is free and waiting for you over at the app store or google play With that you'll see the microphone icon on the front page of the app if you press that Let's your recorded message sends it into the show as well All right a lot to do on today's show and we'll talk more about what's going on to our north and east with just incredible Incredible flooding going on in western eastern, Tennessee western, North Carolina part of south Carolina, Georgia And we'll discuss that coming up in just a little bit start off actually this man may discuss it as well You know him you love him the hardest working man and alabama media from alabama daily news in capital journal We uh lead off bat with our friend Todd stacey. Hey Todd How's it going? It's good man. It's good. There's some I guess there's some things I want to delve into You've been reporting on that are probably a little more detailed and some things that are Uh a little easier here. Uh, let's start with my best. Yeah, let's start with the easy here Uh the uh the welcome and tusk loose in t town for former president trump Um quite a yeah, you know quite it We had of course like we talked about he had senators brit and tupperville there at her shall walker Had kid rock Show up with him as far as this as a hankly and jen your suitor john daily was pretty random. Yeah, it was like I'm not going to say rogu's gallery, but it was an interesting group that he showed up in the game To um, you know, it's but I'd be guess that's good politics Oh, yeah, we were you know talking about it earlier That you know, okay alabama's clearly not a swing state, right? Right, um, but george is yeah george is and um But you didn't you know He wasn't dressed in a roll tide outfit or saying, you know weird things in fact his tie Kind of had a georgia read to it more than Sucked into that discussion of I saw that on twitter people like that's way more. That's more dogs read than it is crimson I saw that's just like his uniform. He rarely wears anything else except blue suit white. Yeah red tie um But think about it like Well, he's been here two or three times and it and been welcomed with rousing Uh applause every time but just like turn it around and let's let's say he went to the alabama, wisconsin game, right? Big game swing state all that but if you go to mattison, wisconsin to a football game, you know, liberal town You're gonna probably gonna get booed, you know, so but you pick brian denny You pick tuscaloosa for you know arguably the biggest regular season game of the year And he gets a you know thunderous applause. So yeah, I mean that's gotta feel good and um And it makes for good tv and everything guys. So he comes through Does that i guess the beauty of having your own plane. He was at you know events In other swing states just hours before he could show up there. So it's good politicking for him That's for sure now. So now on to the things that are probably a little heavier lift and helping me understand this all of us You story here about the justice department. So doj is through in alabama. So You know i've talked about it. I've had secretary of state west alan on the show a couple times talking about purging the roles i've talked about on the federal level of the save act out there what is Is this a semantics thing? Are they is it an idealistic thing that they've wrapped in semantics for doj or is it truly a semantics thing and then trying to shut this down? I mean, I think they're yeah, they'll they wouldn't have thought a lawsuit if they weren't serious about shutting it down and But they're saying it's because of the time period not right and that's what i that's what i'm just not clear on and we ran the ap story and You know, we haven't had a chance to really dive into Exactly what the law says or what different rules say, but yeah, we shouldn't be surprised that the biden justice department or really any democrat isn't happy with west alan for purging the voting roles of you know potentially Expired or illegal, you know the people that aren't properly registered um But yeah, doj brought up this timing thing say hey, it's It's 90 days before a federal election. You can't do this Under the national voter registration act. That's what they're saying. I don't have no reason to believe they would file a lawsuit that If that wasn't in the law, maybe there's some disagreement about that. So if it's just a matter of the time period and Um, you know, you're not supposed to do that before a certain date then yeah alan made just be out of luck um That's the reason to say he can't do the same thing in the future But if it's if it's simply that technicality Then that's one thing if it's more about whether or not you can do this then that might go Higher up the chain in the courts and be a more fundamental question Yeah, that's i was just if i was somebody that was a Opposed to this idea of taking people that shouldn't be voting in federal elections off the voter rolls If I was one of those people, but I thought a political pushback might be too much Then I would wrap it up in a cement like we're not making it. It's like when you say A lawsuit comes up that the people don't have standing right that there's a there's a thing We're not going to make a decision on the actual core of this We're going to play around the edges and that's why i'm wondering if d goj They knew this was happening before did they wait to get it in this window to where you know? I just don't know but I have a I just have questions about it. Is it something they really want to pursue? Or are they just uh, you know going well you're violating this letter of the law Well, yeah, I mean the purge happened about a month ago Yeah, and maybe a little more than a month to go and so That yeah, I guess they have that's what they're saying is it was inside 90 days So this law is going it's not slightly waited too long Um, but what does that have to see? People can vote that are on there that he's identified as not being qualified to vote Well, I think that would take Some kind of injunction from the court all that's happened is the d goj is followed a lawsuit. We haven't heard any kind of um action from the courts federal courts whether this Um, they're asked what they're asking for they're asking for Anybody impacted this to be eligible to vote on November 5th, but that would take an injunction by the court and Yeah, they'll they'll take into account whether there's any basically two things Is there anybody that is potentially harmed by this and that's an easy question to answer. That's yes Okay, if if not voting right is particularly taking potentially taking away, that's potential harm But they're also going to look at likelihood of success And if the judge is still say it's a three-judge panel or even just a federal judge here my gumory say They've got to determine is this Lawsuit does it have a reasonable likelihood for success at the supreme court all the way down? And if it doesn't if it if it is flimsy if there's not If that nine-day rule isn't you know what doj is saying it is then it won't qualify for Injunctive relief, and so that's This is my i'm not an attorney, but i've heard enough i've been around enough of this stuff. That's what they're looking at um, so that's And again, I'm I don't know the rules well enough to To say Whether or not that something has been violated. I know that there are those kind of deadlines in federal law um, but i'm going to be trying probably like you are to get on uh to get Secretary of State west out on to get him to talk about it Yeah, because it would be you know the harmed parties, but I could almost turn around and fund the Secretary of State tasked with running elections inside the state of Alabama where you know I have the responsibility to the voters and if I could make an argument and say well if these people who Are not you know not able to vote in a federal election, but they end up voting a federal election You've watered down and taken away some of the votes from the citizens that are You know that that I could stay I could be I could be a counter a counter lawsuit potentially Yeah, so what does have to see I don't um And at the same time You got to think about the politics too because whether or not this Lawsuit actually works and whatever happens Um for the federal government and it's you know the Biden dij to be coming after west alan, you know he's a You know presumably he'll be defending this in the courts and everything so Yeah, I mean not exactly a bad thing for both of those men Considering they probably both aspire to higher office Okay, now more of our lesson. I told you to be easy stuff and then harder stuff this one And you've talked about it before the subject's been up, but I'm as I read through the story today I don't know that we all follow the Alabama board of medical examiners. Okay. This is last week You said they're legislative hearing on several separation and non-disclosure agreements had entered into with former employees totaling $288,000 in agreements that one state lawmaker claimed were illegal. What's going on here? Yeah, and you tell you what I'm gonna be a lot less colorful than representative Pringle He's the one that was leading this meeting and he you know how aggressive he can be he was just like this You're a liar. You know here. Yeah, maybe you didn't say that but he was pretty colorful in his comments and yeah, so We would report on all these boards and commissions and it's a pretty you know Nerdy very insular part of state government, but it's important because they control a lot actually and the board of medical examiners I mean they control who gets licensed as a physician in this day. There's a hugely important board See yeah, there was just some dispute about this whether these non-disclosure agreements in the A's Were legal to for them to enter into with the separation agreements with these, you know licensing boards and and and contractors they had Pringle seems absolutely sure that they're not and that what We're kind of came to a head is the guy from The commission was asked in the meeting. There's like an oversight meeting You know who told you this was legal he said oh the AG's office did Well while we contacted the AG's office and they said no we have no record of that At all and so it turns out it was somebody that retired from the AG's office some time back So just kind of a I mean Is it the biggest deal in the world? No, but it is the legislative legislative branch and specifically Pringle Keeping a board in a commission that is Largely unaccountable to a lot of folks accountable holding them to account making sure that they have to obey by the same rules Um, so that's why we cover it. And that's why it matters. Yeah, indeed and then to wrap up here Enjoyed i've had this guy on a couple times for the years the uh, Alabama Department of Labor Secretary Fitzgerald Washington Is retiring. I know that he was uh pretty, you know pretty lauded coming in here as part of the uh, the ivy Uh team, so what's the story anything to it other than they just move in on once spend time a family or what? Yeah, he's been in that job quite a few years. Um, he is one of the few that that kept on through Bentley, you know a lot of folks Definitely left they left too, but either by their own volition or their cave fired him Um, he was not one of them. So he's he's okay, shall i read it if I remember correctly when she came in Yeah, yeah, I think he's pretty well respected in the community, but you know I had been hearing that he was Honestly, I heard he was getting ready to retire as soon as last year like he they may have had to ask him to stay on a little longer Um, but i've heard he's been ready to go for quite some time and I get that and You've also got to remember that they're about to Do a huge revamp of alababa's workforce and um and commerce agencies Well, the default of labor is right in the middle of that and so it actually kind of makes sense If you think about it that he knows he's not going to be the leader That you know of that new organization, so maybe step aside and let somebody else whoever the state chooses to oversee all that But yeah, he's by all accounts and a great job as labor secretary and I think you know I heard one person put it this way. He's earned every right to put his feet up when he decides All right tell folks we want to check out more about this email. We were discussing or the uh television show capital journal I know you had a fair hope fair hope mayor Sullivan on there too. Uh, how can people watch that and how can people get the email? I did yeah email is easy just go to al daily news.com. You can enter your name and your email right there on the home page And you'll be on the list and yeah, we had a good ball win county presence and uh on capitol journal this we've got senator chris elliot Uh, yeah, but also had a fair hope mayor sherry selvin She was there for the league of municipalities to kind of talk about things they're doing And so it was fun to get to know her and of course senator elliot's always out there and and on they were talking about um immigration and their trip to the border and maybe some things that they've brought back that they may be proposing this next session as a regard in regards to immigration so a really interesting conversation with senator elliot and Three of his senate colleagues y'all check it out for on capitol journal and pick up the email Uh from alabama daily news Todd. It's always I appreciate it man. We'll talk next week. All right. Sean be good All right. There he goes from coming all right back This is mid day mobile with shawn selvin on fm talk 1065 Right to 1224 fm talk 1065 and that mid day mobile speaking as port stuff big weekend here Did 90 in in college pick up 90 95 My ranking over the weekend brings my horrible season up to 285 as i'm Calling my way back up in the college pick them. So once again those of us that uh work here are affiliated We can't win the prize, but we can compete and and talk trash. So all right to the text line here. Let's see first up chris in orange beach who said Let's see Truth be told I couldn't stay up past the third go time at the game. What a game Couldn't stay up past the third quarter went to bed watching college football final yesterday about had a heart attack Yeah, well, it was it was that kind of game. It was It's a heck of a football game Says I had it goes on to say I have a very memorable ely gold sign football the voice of football in teskaloosa uh, so maybe running a lot of You like gold alabama football radio. They should go to hell for it It's a sin and he called games for the Yankees and rolled tide well rolled time to you chris Um, yeah, he did and like I said to when I when I go on gone and Eli came on the show For all transparency that Eli and I were friends for a long time Just since college when he was he's just good dude and his wife They were great to me and uh, but beyond that I can look past it and go am I being fair and saying that he was The gold standard and and I think he absolutely was Um in that there's a lot more to it. We got into the discussion why it might have happened But uh, it just comes from jeff who I guess has not been listening to games on the radio this year until now Commenting about chris stewart versus ely gold Um, yeah, ely was uh The best oh and you're saying about calling the Yankees. So that's how I've met i've got a i've got to figure out where that is It's in a box and where i got to get it because i'm gonna put it on the wall here at the station I've got a mel alan autograph that I got in in college And so mel alan also, you know with the university alabama went to Alabama was of course the play-by-play announcer for the Yankees all those years well He came through the university back then and uh, then he uh that I guess it would have been My freshman year self-wear or something like that and then ely said hey you ought to probably meet this guy I'm like, who's that not being a kid who grew up around? Yankees baseball and he described me and I sat down in the studio with mel alan it was uh, it was pretty amazing stuff All right, uh more text here michael says shawn have kind of come around to your stance That it should take some kind of effort to vote unlike shamari figures who thinks everyone should automatically be enrolled If you know michael's talking about uh interview we had last week or week before last wishamari figures He thinks you should who's the democrat candidate for ale to think she's some idea of just automatically being enrolled to vote I disagree with that like even with my my eldest when she turned 18 the Going through the process of getting registered to vote. I think is a good thing and i'm not trying to deny anybody voting rights. I think it having to do something Makes it more special, you know getting registered doing all that Uh, he goes on to say my idea is why can't the entire role be purged every eight to ten years? Yes, it would be a little bit of a hassle, but it would also keep the roles cleaned up a bit Then it's going to help keep informed citizens being predominant voters while the democrats automatic voters would be cleared Yeah, and I you know sometimes this stuff comes out because they'll be like well. This will give republicans advantage. I look at it Agnostically to that of the politics. I look at it is being american citizen and it's it's it's a it's a Great thing we have We can talk about how effective it is or isn't people will say well my vote doesn't count I still am polyana enough to do to still believe it's important And therefore it should take a little bit of lift. I think to do it. I really I really do Uh See bigginess says 90 days or 90 minutes. It doesn't matter if you're not eligible to vote You shouldn't be allowed to vote but the democrats have weaponized the DOJ They'd rather protect their fraudulent votes than ensure an honest election and it's the base of this is so And if if somebody if there's somebody that got wrapped up in this who should be able to vote then let's make sure that they're allowed to vote But the idea that we have through Multiple means and some of them not even nefarious, but people end up on federal voter rolls who aren't citizens I hate to take it back here to Government econ class for everybody, but you know who gets to vote the citizens get to vote It's it's like so simplistic Oh my gosh calvin says mayor Sullivan sounds pretty good. Sean just saying That's i've talked about sherry Sullivan fair up. I know what you're doing not following for that. All right, come right back more mid-day mobile What about getting aussie to do play-by-play for sports? I would be 1235 FM talk when I'm 65 at mid-day mobile And Chad saying as a plus a surprise see Eli gold is the grand marshal and one of the marty girl parades earlier this year That was very cool. Um, Eli has been down for marty girl a couple times and I thought it was a good thing Community notes want to be if registering makes voting so special, why not gun ownership? Okay, so why not I can say this you you have a constitutional right to to keep in bear arms and you know that'll and I go through a tough thing with this because The discussion right now about that window of 18 to 21 Right where you're not legally under federal framework old enough to buy the handgun But you can you can have it without you know, you don't have to have a concealed carry permit anymore There's there's wiggle room in that. I think that's an interesting debate Uh beyond that. I'm pretty pretty strong second amendment guy. I think I think but there are probably people further than me and listen when I was a Headstrong young libertarian back in the day Whatever that means now. I don't know Uh, you know, I would have argued you could have had a bazooka too because people say well, what does that mean? Like I think one of my professors in Alabama is like what's that mean? You could have a bazooka? I said, yes I think you should have a bazooka and a tank and all this stuff think But you know I deal with some rain supreme when you're in your late teens and early 20s But no so community notes want to be saying so if registration makes voting so special, why not gun ownership? Well, you don't have a constitutional right to vote It was remanded to states, right? now there's some malfeasance that went on with that Restricted and you know who could vote and poll taxes all that crap Uh that we had to get out of the mix but that was all done in amendments over time and at a state level The states decided about voting so you don't have you have a constitutional right a second amendment. There's not a There's not a constitutional originally prescribed constitutional right to vote The founders realized it would happen somehow, but it was not in sconce the same way the second amendment was so Kind of what I would say to that fire dog says, uh fire dogs says if shawn did run for mayor. I'm not running for mayor Fargo if shawn did run for mayor. I wonder how dan dalton and jeff would vote we need polling I guess jeff can't vote as he's in liberal fair hope and that's right. It'd be be working on the uh dan and dalton And I would have to move as well. I'd have to move again and then but I really do that. I would have to move back inside the city limits so or you know what maybe I could just get them to annex annex Be in and time to to run for that office uh, let's see here the uh People reacting to my suggestion, maybe y'all's the onsborn does play by play Uh, people are laughing at it. Uh, daniel said you can't understand policy. Of course. That's what i'm saying. That would be the And we've made the fun of it And good shawn from bawling county, uh talking about this. I do want to talk about Just the video. I've seen The steel pictures. I've seen the stories I've seen out of western north carolina eastern, tennessee north georgia, you know in the mountains. It's not that there wasn't Big damage elsewhere, but I think you heard the news report even governor santa saying Hey, forda. What we'll make it. You need to focus your efforts and and president biden had a uh spoke on that today uh in that area that it's just Unbelievable the things i've seen and I the thing that struck me too is if you've ever been up there and you you make that right turn You know, uh by noxville to get on i40 to go to ashville To see video And still pictures of i40 washed out my buddy yesterday said, you know i 40s out and i said yeah I heard something was wrong with it. Is it just like they got to get cleaned up? And I just I guess between football and whatever center day i hadn't paid attention to it. He said no shawn It is out and saw those pictures. It's unbelievable Unbelievable up there, but yeah, so shawn from bawling county said shawn my wife and i spent the month of july every year Uh in wolf wolf laurel north carolina 30 miles north of ashville The destruction is catastrophic in that whole area the french broad emc So the okay french broad emc. There's a french broad river there. I know shawn knows A french broad emc lost all four feed points from duke power and three weeks is a current estimate for power There's only one way off wolf mountain, but there's no way But there's no way to go anywhere nowhere to go anywhere once down I have a nephew in ashville and the potable water is their biggest problem right now Please pray for these people. The damage is apocalyptic Here are the stories here bill french yesterday too. It's interesting at the Start of his his show yesterday bill said one of his buddies butt dialed him I think he called it a posterior dial or whatever, but Who lives up there because bill went school up there Nashville and uh his buddy who he knows called him and described to him You know the way you would just talk to your friends about how bad the damage is and bill came on the air said you know, it's even Here's some stories beyond what we see with the regular news. So shawn, we will pray for him and like I had said before If we're looking for relief efforts Like this happens a lot and usually the release that relief efforts are focused on other gulf coast communities But if you're church your civic group, I do have a story about a one group Let's see putting some putting supplies together But if you if you have a church or a civic group or whatever group you're going to paul Supplies to those folks anywhere that were hit by helene Let us know and what we can do is give information out on like drop-off points and all that That's all I think we can help is speaking of which wk or g has a story has said This uh, this group is the lower alabama search and rescue and lillian And gosh did they did lillian get it during sally man? They realize it said the lower alabama search and rescue and lillian They're putting together uh motto's pile of supplies Alabama rescue squads are gathering supplies for storm hit areas. They're trying to fill up a large trailer They're collecting items every day this week from 8am to 6pm They're looking for cleaning supplies water personal hygiene products non-perishable food They're one of two hubs in the state where the supplies will be sent a week from now. They're collecting donations at several locations Locally, they're taking the supplies in at the national reserve corps and mobile Daphne search and rescue north ball one chair of search and rescue and mac and tosh rescue And they'll head out october 8th or ninth with those supplies. So That's one of the places you can help and and give those Supplies so Sean keep us in the loop as you obviously have some contacts up there Uh, what can be done to help them? David registering to vote is very similar to giving a concealed carry permit You have to take the proactive steps to do both as the way it should be remember If you have the right to do something you have the right to not do it too And then community notes want to be comes back and says nice pivot. Thank you It has nothing to do with your claim that registration makes it special It doesn't my rhetorical question wasn't advocating for gun registration, but that are both are stupid and not special Um, I do think it's special. So I'm just disagree with you. Uh, I think Voting is special. I think it's a great thing. I think Taking my teenager to go through the process to do it makes it Makes it more the work anything worth doing, right? If you if you get something if you okay if you borrow something or you get something for free You don't take care of it nearly like you do something that you You worked hard and earned the money for right? me just There's some sort of effort in something gives a an an ownership And a respect for something. I think that is that is lost If you don't but that's why we can go around around with that because I just I don't it's going to take a lot for me to see the other way on that Community notes want to be but we can keep keep that up speaking things. We're keeping up here too I mean you heard last week. I've talked about the even mentioned it with congressman carl on friday show the massive increase In troops we've been sending to to the greater israel middle east area And my fear has been for a year now close to a year that as we put more and more us military in theater Bigger chance of something happening to our people That then brings us into a wider regional war. I mean we truly pussyfooted around this thing with the remember the the pier right the failed pier off gaza We're gonna we're gonna help but we can't put our feet on the ground. So we're I mean we're oh whoops I fell and I'm on the ground. I mean it's this kind of stuff. It's holding your hand close to a hot stove Well, this just coming in now From this is over at fox ntv Their website now in addition to what we talked about last week now the us is sending a few thousand more troops to the middle east to bruce security Said pentagon press release today said a few thousand additional troops and then at least a bolster security and be prepared to defend israel if necessary What does that mean? So the increased presence will come from multiple multiple fighter jet squadrons According to pentagon It follows recent strikes in lebanon and the assassination of hezbollah leader has sung us rallie Nasser nasser allah significant escalation in the war in the middle east The time between at this time between israel and haspala. Yeah, but I Once again, I'm not anti israel israel defending themselves and are Backing them to some degree, but it's we are bound and determines people in washington are bound and determined To put our men and women in another war. I'm just I'm convinced of it So here the additional personnel includes squadrons of the f f 15 e strike eagle the f 16 the a 10 that's the war dog And the f 22 fighter jets and the personnel needed to support them The jets were supposed to rotate in and replace squadrons already there instead Both the existing and new squadrons will remain in place to double their power on hand Does this worry any of y'all You know yesterday defense secretary lord Defense secretary lord austin announced that he was temporarily also extending the uss Abraham lincoln carrier strike group And the associated squadrons in the region They say the jets are not there to assist in evacuation. They're there for protection of us forces. Yeah, because we get a bunch of them there It's once again that does it mean it doesn't mean that I don't think israel has the right to defend themselves because i'm waiting for all those texts. It's just I'm one of these people not looking to put Our people in a in a in a war if we don't have to and this is something you can support them and not put our people in that war All right mark and west mobile said This should be a non talking about the voting this should be a non partisan issue If you're in favor of a cheapened election where results don't matter in chaos and sous And you believe anyone any time can vote and you probably vote democrat Larry and daphne says hey shawn that explains why people take voting for granted They did not work for it. They were born into it. This is why history is so important to be taught in school properly It's a very special thing and if you have to do a little bit of lifting to make sure you're registered to vote I think you hold on to it more. I think it's more important and more dear Be right back You This is mid-day mobile with shawn selvan on fm. Talk 1065 Right to 1250 fm talk. One of six five mid-day mobile They'll say hello to my buddy. David McCraery at lc and motor cars and get to talk inventory here on a monday How you looking on trucks? We're good shawn and like you and i'm just talking about i mean we hate it for everybody that's involved in all these This hurricane and the flooding and everything else has happened and Um, but we've got trucks. We got one tons gas diesels. We got three quarter tons We've got on you know work half ton work trucks. So if anybody's looking for a truck Or you know anybody that's going to work the storm, um, which a lot of people do give us a call We we don't have it. We'll find it for you in a quick timely fashion where you can get on the road All right, and maybe it's just self-serving you've told me this over time because you know i'm a truck guy But you said there's certain lenders out there that you pair people with that love truck buyers Yeah, um, you know historically, you know people that buy trucks Um, unlike yourself or using them to work, you know now people Now people buy them. I told a gentleman. It's buying a truck from us. Just now he said i don't know if i need to pull We'll drive and i said well, I mean most people buying full-wheel drive now just like the sticker on it So their buddies can play they have a full-wheel drive Yeah, there we go. Let me give you some pictures of the truck i bought from you and Uh that we hauled off feed this weekend a whole lot of trees are easy mccreary easy Tell folks how the most people hunt nowadays are using their full-wheelers. You know that Yeah, i've got i'm not even hunting. I'm just working all right to tell folks how they can come check out these trucks and talk trash with you about me We're that's very easy. We're at highway 90 implantation in theater You give us a call at 2-5-1-3-7-5-0-0-6-8 or go to website lcmotorcourse.com We keep a text about showing on there so holler at me. Okay, settle down mccreary. Thank you, brother I'll talk to you soon a week buddy. All right, you too. There goes david mccreary from lcm motor cars let's uh get to a couple more texts and then we've got some stories to turn here before we get to the next hour where we have even more See now pat this is pat says nah a hundred percent israel support and he means necessary pull all funding from ukraine And pat that's just one of these this is the thing that this is the beauty of our country. I disagree with you I don't be support. I support israel, but I don't support them To the level of putting our people there and that's looks like what we've been trying to do for a year CB carl I said who has served Said hearing anyone say that voting is stupid explains how my nation is in this sad situation I don't need to remind you about the amount of blood spilled to have the right and responsibility well said well said uh, but yeah, it's it's one of these things that Should you should you just be when you turn 18 automatically registered to vote? I I disagree with that so There's people that think you should just just comes with it you turn 18 and and you're in Speaking also israeli special forces launching raids in the lebanon Uh, you know, they've got we're looking at this is the escalation to it's a true ground war right ground incursion of israel in the lebanon so now we're not just talking about Gaza we're talking about Into lebanon the sovereign country of lebanon Says his right this from wall street journal says israeli special forces have been carrying out small targeted raids into southern lebanon gathering intelligence And probing ahead of what is a possible broader ground incursion that could come as soon as this week So the by administration expects an imminent israeli invasion of lebanon US officials have said much of the findings expected to take place along the israeli lebanese border Though there's no concern about though There is concern in washington that the war could expand geographically and last longer than a short-term campaign Yeah, I would say yes Because if your has belong and you're and they're saying wow, it's just going to be right there on the border then you just pull Your units back to the north and then israel has to go for the north and then you pull back to the north, right? I mean I mean this is as just an unfolding in front of us here And it has been for a year and it seems like it's uh People just all right well i'm worried about uh, whatever what p did he's doing Which oddly enough all the things about p did he I really focused on the like the baby oil and all that stuff and The rest of the story is what I think is the the damning part of this Okay, if the guy was if everybody was like a grown-up and Agreed to it. I don't care how much baby. We have pulls full of baby oil and and grown-ups doing grown-ups of I don't care You're a rat mogul. I mean, but There's a whole bunch of other stuff around this story that is like, I think maybe that's more concerning Than the uh, baby oil, but what do I know? Oh, it got this over the the weekend here So we've talked in the past about electric cars right not I think EVs are cool Um, but there are some Issues here with EVs One of them we've talked about is when they catch fire Right, you can't with normal hoses put the fire out Saw this story from um, uh, the uh, the metro website said salt water is making electric cars blow up After hurricane helene and get this and think about this if you live in You know along the water where you could get storm surge Said officials urging those who evacuated and left electric vehicles or golf carts in garages or hundred buildings to report them If they cannot safely access or move the vehicles Saltwater exposure can damage the battery components in the electric vehicles potentially leading to a dangerous chemical reaction That could cause the vehicle to catch fire Residents who many have left electric vehicles behind when they evacuated from affected areas Probably because they didn't want to get stuck with no charge on the road maybe and some probably golf carts Are being urged to contact local emergency services. I guess this is in florida Said recovery operations continue authorities say they want to mitigate any potential hazards caused by damaged electrical vehicle batteries Emergency responders have advised residents not to move flooded electric vehicles themselves But in steck instead contact authorities for help Okay, it says florida, georgia, north carolina, south carolina, alabama And virginia have all day are cleared emergencies in the wake of the devastating hurricane That swept the southern united states Um, and I think that's the area of alabama would be in the north east where they got the rain Uh, but yet they said according to officials People who were less stranded or without power across the region about 2.7 billion households without power And then it goes into a little bit more detail on how many of these possibly Could have electric vehicles, but yeah, so they're saying hey if you got a ev And it gets inundated with saltwater That on its own with you doing nothing like you've evacuated and you left the vehicle there It could catch on fire Something to think about too. I mean in in in our communities, right? You might have the ev and then you have the the gas powered vehicle. You know, well gosh, we're going to evacuate for the storm Uh, we probably don't need to I imagine you probably try to take it to a high point or something like that, but if you didn't and you left it behind Then they're saying just the salt water getting in there Can start this fire Uh, so that's something to think about going Going forward Adam said shawn. I don't recall ever saying so much widespread inland damage and devastation is with haleen I also don't remember this type of flooding in tennessee in the carolinas. It's heartbreaking. It is unreal It's unreal to see those pictures You think about the amount of rain one one dr bill is talking about it One town I forget which one it was got 30 inches all those several others got like 2728 I mean when you're dealing with that amount was an inch or two matter but y'all spent time up there You know the rain is not going to stay there on the side of the mountain. It's all coming down And where do people build when you live in the mountains? Anywhere you can find flat, right, which is down along the rivers Let's get some fancy Lodge up on the side of the mountain, but most regular folks live down in the flats Which all that rain came down it's um, it's seeing the pictures of the paltbore. I've built the paltbore. I've built more Which I've spent a couple days on over the years. It's unreal unreal There's gonna be a lot a lot of help needed up there for sure. Be right back hour number two (upbeat music)
