“...cried out to the Lord and said, ‘We pray, O Lord, please do not let us perish for this man’s life, and do not charge us with innocent blood; for You, O Lord, have done as it pleased You.’”
 - Jonah 1:14 (NKJV)

'When the ship on which Jonah was sailing was caught in a fierce storm, the sailors cried out to the Lord and said, 'We pray, O Lord, please do not let us perish for this man's life, and do not charge us with innocent blood, for you, O Lord, have done as it pleased you.' God was trying to reach the hearts of those pagan sailors. When flames were seen shooting out of an engine on a passenger plane, people were heard praying out loud in that moment of fear and concern. I'm not suggesting God caused the emergency, some unfortunate birds did that, but he was trying to reach people on that flight, hoping that they would remember their prayers were answered in their time of distress. If you're going through something, keep in mind that the storm meant for Jonah was also meant for the sailors. God might be trying to reach others through the experience that he allows to come into your life. Bear it with grace because your experience is bigger than just you.
