There will be no personal nor direct attacks on anyone and I would ask that you please try to Keep down the loud cheering and the clapping. There will be no booing and no unruly behavior With that this is painful and it will be for a long time After all these are a couple of high-stepping turkeys and you know what to say about a high stepper No step too high for a high stepper. This is midday mobile with Sean Sullivan on FM talk 106 five more shots of tough guy. I mean, I think everybody knows that you know Sean He took some licks he hangs in there. Yeah, what's wrong with the beer? We got I mean the deal We got drink pretty good don't it. Did you hear what I said? So this is a babe council I had no doubt about them that doesn't stop if you don't like it Last question were you high on drugs? But here we go FM talk one oh six five midday mobile at glutton have you along this hour and of course still monitoring What's going on half a world away with over five hundred? Iranian missiles launched at Israel there are reports at the that I Don't know many is right that missiles have made it through Iron Dome that have hit the ground. I told you I was watching some of the video You can see at FM talk one oh six five on X where you can see that for yourself out there watching that and also report of Hezbollah launching rockets from right across the border there where the IDF has a landing coercion and they're they're launching in there So it's a two-fronted and I think a Jaffa there was a report of a terrorist attack there. So that's going on right now And we'll keep our eyes on that as well. And I'm gonna read one text before you get our next guest and my friend on here So this let's see from the Mariner Because I went on that rant there at the end of the end of the hour the Mariner said Sean I'll say again. Thank you for what y'all do. We need some yard signs saying we support FM talk one oh six five We should we should get those we should get those that can be your political sign We put them up But you know once again, they're two-part deal there because we're coming off what Jeff Davis said about the Odyssey purchase and it being that You know, it's a company It's not called George Soros. I think it's called something tree or something if it's the Let's see it's an investment company, but it's it's mostly it's other players in there, but it's mostly George Soros led that that bought this up laurel tree that is laurel tree Bought out Odyssey and it just couple things. I pointed out that company big company like other big national radio companies that exist They go way way into debt going to bankruptcy and emerge Cleanness of whistle and this one It's Odyssey company Was in bankruptcy the George Soros company because there's a political side about who will we put on there not let on there And that's my discussion, but my rant from inside the business. I was reading y'all something from a trade magazine here that says Odyssey emerged from bankruptcy with 80% of its debt wiped away. Just like other big Radio companies in the country have had tell you what if you're a regular American let alone a independent operator of a radio station nobody's wiping away 80% of your debt and the FCC Got their approval for the handover in six months time, which is a lightning Japanese rail train pace to get something done with the FCC All right, so so maybe we can get those yards on if I can get 80% of debt removed from the station April Marie What do you think? I Think you should get 80% of the debt removed from the station. That should be a good goal Yeah, well, that's what I do every every month trying to do that, but there's no there's no giant I mean, it's like you look at media companies if you're huge I know tons and tons of money you'll get bailed out and restructured if you're independent operators There's nobody looking to do that. So we got to keep our you know, we got to do it ourselves Yeah, well, and that's you know, that's what business is right Yes, so but the bigger the business the more likelihood that you find in Trump said this one of his earliest debates The biggest thing about being a millionaire billionaire is that you know all the loopholes to keep staying a millionaire Billionaire that the people who runs the small business the one radio station the two radio stations They don't know because it's baked into the cake for the guy who wants to come in and buy a ton Absolutely, absolutely. So the debate the second tier debate about this going on tonight in New York Interesting to y'all do this little exercise If you'll go to Google and put VP debate in there or tonight's vp I think I put in just vp debate if you look at what they offer to you as the you know the top stories here You know if you go from the all to the news tab the top three stories. Hey from Ray CNN NPR and USA today Those were the first three versions of the debate that are offered to people I have no problem with one of them being there, you know, and then you know another thing that maybe I don't know that's Just a regular news agency even something on the right, but if you scroll down It is it's somebody's Who's still you would imagine an undecided person, right? So they're like, okay, we're gonna watch a DVP debate Actually, if you go further down the screen New York Times The verge I mean, it's every one of them from a liberal news source giving people about info on tonight's debate Oh, yeah, and they're they're all telling you how wacky JD Vance is gonna be mm-hmm They're coming that's kind of it's not that I I appreciate somebody who's on the other side, you know Putting their spin on it or whatever, but Google How about how about just a mix of stories there, right? How about a mix of stories instead of them all being? One way, but it's no no They can't help themselves and it's gotten to the point now where you know, I the more Like it instead of getting worse the more they get called out for it The more people who use these services say wait your services are incredibly biased Instead of fixing it. They seem to double down on it, and that has been true of Political searches of anything having to do with you know, Palestine the the attacks on it you name it if there is something in which A ordinary search engine whereas if you had an encyclopedia as a kid you didn't open it up and guarantee It at a time to open up an encyclopedia. It's gonna be garbage, but that's what's happening on the search engines Yeah, it is and while somebody who is I mean I don't think somebody who's already got an idea who they're gonna vote for is gonna see that and go Oh, I'm gonna change my mind to to vote for the Democrats or vice versa That's not gonna happen But the people that would be searching that out other than like me looking at you know, what time and what channels kind of thing or People there may be undecided. So actually it has a Bigger impact on what might happen with you know, and I know everybody thinks that everyone has decided there's no one else's Not I think there's I think there's a considerable amount of Americans that still hadn't made a decision. So it does impact What worries me is that there would be a Transitional amount of people and people who say I don't know anything about You know everybody knows something about Trump. I think that is that is one thing right? But the other three on the ticket Kamala herself included people don't know about these people, you know, what do you know about Kamala? Policy wise what's shocking is everything you thought you knew three weeks ago. She's now changed What do you know about JD dance the only thing that gets media attention is Are his most outlandish statement not who he is as a person and not his personal story? I think that the people who are undecided are undecided because they just don't pay its close attention And when as soon as they pay attention, they're gonna go. Oh, yeah. Okay That's not my guy Speaking of which to you had posted this up. I guess last month on Twitter and I thought this was pretty interesting I will play the audio if it doesn't come back down the phone line, which I don't know if it does or not on this It is something you had posted from Mary Catherine ham about Tim walls, and I'm gonna play this for y'all. Listen to this We can't afford We can't afford Four more years of this week. Okay, so it's Tim old saying we can't afford four more years of this and I've been saying the whole time It's like this campaign Has been running like Trump's the incumbent when I mean, it's ridiculous So basically what he's saying is we can't afford four or four years of Kamala But yeah, he's they're trying to rewrite the history we are currently living right like it's one thing to try to rewrite something that happens 50 70s Catch we remember that pretty well But you look at where we can't afford four more years of this Right in office and and this guy by the weird way they when JD Vans came out do you remember that big push to talk about what a weirdo? He was how strange he was you're really good at you a weirdo on that stage tonight because Because was can't help himself with his weird hand gestures in the way he talks It's a very he's a very strange man. It's gonna be yeah, and You're right and then so much of this saying well, what why is he gonna tell? It would though and then there's folks that fact check the candidates are supposed to fact check each other on the fly I don't know how that's gonna exactly work You know if they're just gonna be hollering each other But I think better than the moderator's attention to do it true But I mean I just oh yeah, I would much rather have them do it But the mechanics of that you know you're gonna say I'm gonna stop answering this question and to bring up this article that show You know, I don't know how that's gonna be done but Looking at this and I hope that I haven't had blinders on but I've watched walls speak a good bit and watch Vance speak a good bit it seems like just It's it's gonna be it's gonna be all Vance. It seems like he's he's better with his rhetoric than balls is Well, I think it's not just better with his rhetoric. It's yeah. There's actually some substance to him He feels deeply about the policies he's committed to because of the way they've impacted and shaped it It shaped his life and that gives I tell people all the time When you put me up against somebody who's not really lived the values There's never lived in poverty who's never really seen the middle class because they've been in every part of the middle class trying to you know Move higher and they don't understand what it's like to run a small business They don't understand what it's like to be you know considered the country redneck and the whatever JD Vance's experience all of these things the Democrats we have these days have a tendency to be Liberals limousine liberals. They are so out of touch. JD Vance is not out of touch He went to a great school, but he has a great background to talk about it And so I think what we're going to see is the contrast between people who memorize Talking points and people who actually lived someone who lived the problem and can talk about it in the first person It's gonna be interesting to see if that it's Obviously those people you we talked about the beginning here that are just now coming to this and going. Oh, yeah We got election coming up. We are we probably ought to pay attention here. So we'll see I mean is it gonna be there's possibly the last debate of any sort we have before election day and it's the vp's tonight Well, I think that I think JD they're expecting JD Vance to go as often has advanced off messages front does and I don't think we're gonna see that when when JD Vance Hit makes a point and hit something he tends to do it a little bit cleaner than Trump does where it can have the same impact but it's not as not as busy whereas What however you want to describe? personality got more tapped to it and so I think this very well might be the last one because Kamala might say I'm not I'm not doing this again. Yeah, maybe not anyplace anytime. All right. Well, we'll watch it People want to get more in this conversation with you or more of what you're watching. How do they find you online? Well, first off you can find me at April Marie That's a PRY L M a I E and then I'm filling in for Jeff poor on Monday So be sure to check in the Jeff for show on Monday and I'll be there all three hours Yeah, and then in next month you got fill ins for me So, you know start to just work, you know, work out any kind of kinks on Jeff show and be ready to go in November on mine You got it. All right. Talk soon. All right. There she goes April Marie and we're coming right back more midday mobile You You're listening to midday mobile with Sean Sullivan on FM talk 105 call Sean now at three four three zero one oh six I Tell one twenty three FM talk one oh six five midday mobile this Tuesday I'm glad you're here. Thank you. Thank you for being part of the show. You can always chime in on the text line Or the phone line the old telephono three four three zero one zero six three four three zero one zero six and like y'all been doing yesterday folks chime in on the talkback feature on the FM talk one oh six five app if you have the if you look at the Front page of the app you'll see that microphone icon if you press that Let's you record the message and then you can stop it and sends it to the station so we can play it back here on the air Read a couple more texts here. I do want to get into the story about the strike here That's affecting the east coast and the Gulf Coast, but specifically our home here in southwest, Alabama But I wouldn't read this Michael said duck duck go is better Better to use than Google not perfect, but noticeably better it is And and Michael I want to say this it's not because I'm I use brave also I use a lot a bunch of different browsers Michael Trying to see what's you know trying to look at different news stories I think it's part of my job to be able to You know if I'm going to search it on just Google if I go to other platforms to try to make sure I'm getting a full breath of stories on something and I Think brave which you say why I said conservative braids makes here So on Google if you're just joining us we talked about earlier if you go to Google as of about an hour ago if they haven't updated this and you Google VP debate I mean, it's like one two three CNN NPR USA today. That's under news Don't tell me those are the only people that are Doing something on this and then you go even go down and it's the Hollywood Reporter And then the New York Times New York Times has left, but the New York Times is a paper of record of a problem with that I'll have it and the same thing if I was opening so the brave app Asked the same question gives you a story from the Guardian gives you a CNN story gives you a political story It gives you a Fox News story it gives you a Yahoo story and then if you go way further down to get an NPR story I wouldn't want the flip side. I wouldn't want if this Brave browser argues like others duck duck go if it only gave me The rights take on it. I mean, I would love it just to be I know it's naive to have somebody just reporting the facts ma'am I wouldn't like that either because I feel like I'm missing out on what more people might be thinking about this I'm Solid enough in my beliefs. I can see opinions that I disagree with and I go. Oh gosh. I can't see that But it's just interesting Google being the big monster out there the way you when you search it and see what comes up Versus going to some other browsers out there. It's just Something to think about it's not gonna change your mind not gonna change even somebody who's a die hard, you know I don't know if they die hard Kamala fans. Maybe the K hive people But it would Make a difference with people. They were just now going. Oh, man. We got an election coming up I need to look it was going on tonight with this VP debate. I just heard Sullivan talking about it Also Jerry and Fort Morgan said please don't misunderstand me. I'm not rattling sabers I'm just saying that if we're going to be in the region we need to be on the offense and not floating around like a Pintail in the decoys. I would love it if the Pintails would float around in the decoys usually they You know one or two passes out of them. You better shoot. I did see Jerry I might send you a video buddy of mine the other day They had some blue wing teal come in there in Mississippi had blue wing teal come in with two pintails flying with them and the boys Did perfect extractive blue wing teal didn't get near the pintails early migrate in Pentel didn't give cuz it's teal season blue wing teal season not Big duck season they did good. I was real impressed. I said you guys have some big Stones to be shooting where there's pintails Let's uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, be dark says if all keeps going on we won't have an election Yeah, well, I think we will I think we will His girlfriend says yeah, never yet every time the tech people get grilled by Congress. They sit there and act innocent except You had, you know Zuckerberg come out and say hey, I absolutely felt pressure to suppress What they said was misinformation or disinformation By the administration during covid the same thing I talked about endlessly with y'all I said this is happening and then took a couple years and then here's Zuckerberg talking about it All right, we'll come back to the text here I do want to set this up and we'll come back and discuss more of what's it going on right now You've probably heard the discussion already the the the the strike is going on here the port of Opio on the cons on the container shipping portion And that's one thing I think we need to point out that the container terminal is essentially closed right now at the port of Mobile Or they call it how Alabama's poured same thing Maine to Texas as they said The steel terminal because people we talked about this yesterday so So fast, but the cruise ships there fine military's fine steel terminal is is not the same union. So they're working The bulk and the brake bulk are still operating the you know palletized stuff not affected so you got lumber and aluminum and and paper Not affected by the strike now commodities are and one thing I said yesterday and I dug into did a little research overnight Talk about the number of chickens. I know this seems silly, right? But it's pretty important if you look at that the volume agriculture leave for the state chicken exports Coming out of here and that's been shut down. So that's containerized. They have those freezer containers. That's been shut down and The ships I also asked what about the ships That are on the way to ports like our port Mobile what happens to them with the shutdown? I got some more info on that and we'll talk about it when we return right after the news right here on the day mobile This is midday mobile with Sean Sullivan on FM talk 1 0 6 5 By 1 35 FM talk 1 of 6 5 midday mobile by the way show tomorrow At my favorite and I love my studio here. My favorite place to do a radio show is aboard the mighty a universe USS Alabama at battleship Memorial Park. We're there tomorrow. So one hour of this show and then I guess It gets better judgment. I am the keys over to veteran of the year my buddy Tom Clarkson Don't let them know that I say good things about him. He's a hell of a human being He and Skittlebutt radio network from 1 to 2 so midday mobile from noon to 1 then Skittlebutt from 1 to 2 something we do You know every few months here on FM talk 1 of 6 5 is always great to get back out and see the general and everybody At the battleship, which I love the fact that if we say the general Yeah The veteran army general that is over the battleship and probably gives gives some uh, some agita to the navy folks out there Doesn't it but it's it's the way it is She's a great human being all right to the text line here Then I do want to get back more into this strike story and some that are important here So I'm trying to so this texture said because I mentioned and notes that I had taken down this morning that coal terminal The cold container terminal essentially is closed but like bulk and break bulk We're open like like coal, but this texture says not true This person is in the ILA and says coal is not moving. So I'm Was getting you know, I'm coming at this honestly trying to learn what's going on. I Told you I did my homework last night. I did But maybe I read some wrong chapters here. I'm trying to figure out Number one to be able to lay out like all the facts in this Right because with there's a bunch of opinion and we can get we'll get to some of those cuts a little bit But we're the facts and then you can you can say you agree or disagree, but I'm trying to Trying to get the the facts in on it Also, you have many people saying they kick Google to the curb. It's not that you know, and I still use Google But then I use other search engines. I'm not I don't want a stifle Google doing what they're doing I just want to point out that they're doing it. It's that kind of strange free speech thing I have but I do want to point out that that's the big one and somebody who is Undecided right now looking for information about the VP debate. Look at the spin they get Firedog said I can give you five bucks to help defer some of the debt for the station. Well, thank you It's you know, we're no we got it. We got this. I'm not not even kind of We got that figured out. We've been doing this a long time. We're good at it It's just that you know big companies out there get I mean George Soros company So you can talk about the politics But buy us this big radio conglomerate 220 stations and gets 80% of the debt wiped clean What do what do people say must be nice must be nice Gives on to say I imagine the Israelis will cripple gas for fineries electrical and military infrastructure if I were them I would take out civilian airports as well. You know this response I mean fire dog. Yeah, you know it as a as a warrior. It's gonna be big. I saw I mean, I can just read what the IDF is saying on me. You won't be surprised IDF is saying We're coming for you in so many words, you know that will be responding to this doubt over 500 missiles. I think they They believe we're launched and I'm seeing a lot of eclipse on Twitter on X of The actual missile infrastructure, you know, what's left of the missile in Israel those could I mean before anybody types up Yes, they could be faked, but I don't think they are Also, this was interesting. They said according to a Iranian official who spoke to Reuters Both the United States and Russia were notified right before the ballistic missile attack against Israel Iran at least knows I guess that they better They'll know what they're doing. So it doesn't even go any further and let's see Back to the conversation I'd had with with Jeremy and Fort Borgan. Here you go. It's coming in about nine minutes ago Several ballistic missiles fired by Iran against Israel were intercepted by a group of US Navy Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyers operating in the eastern Mediterranean including the USS Arleigh Burke USS Cole and the USS Bulkley that's not the Blakely isn't the one they made the bulkily okay out there. So a little update on that Let's see the Texture says am I wrong or the people that have not made up their mind who they're voting for is this very disturbing Maybe but there are people that like just been into following the P Didi case you know and Follow the P Didi case and then That woke up and realized I had an election. I'm just I'm giving them benefit of the doubt all right, so you're talking about some of the things that in my research and although somebody's telling me right now already that Cole is not moving. I was told that The container terminal so you know what the containers are container ice shipping. We know that that's one of the Hallmark's adversities why there's a museum about it is essentially closed But bulk and break bulk. We're still open to all those somebody's telling me that Cole is not moving I'll talk about the chicken exports out Alabama affected also What I'm here now this is I'm hearing from people on the At the port that said that or this is maybe national story said one day so each day that there's a shutdown each day There's a shutdown equals a week to catch up the way I understand this reading this is so if you have every day that they're closed Right that the container terminal if they when they go back online, it's gonna take them a week to make up for the day That they were offline. So you see how that might Move out through the next months even so even if they were just today say they got a deal done today Which I don't know it's happening, but they got a deal done today That that would be a week to make that up and for each additional day. It means an additional week. I asked a question too and of People with the port about the ships and it cuz I you know I wondering yesterday Said what happens when you have ships, you know ships are already on their way. All right constantly on their way coming into our port and other ports what do they do they not gonna turn them around they're not gonna what are they gonna do and Told here that they will sit at anchor. So that question yesterday. We talked about it. Usually you had about a given day it depends three ships at anchor waiting for waiting for bar pilots Sometimes six sometimes a few more than that, but I mean usually it's it's that number You're gonna see them pile up now as these ships that are coming in to offload here. I Guess don't get diverted. They go at anchor Which reading this and I don't know if this is true for here or all ports I guess it would be because it's not about the port is about the ship that will cost a ship between 80,000 to a hundred twenty thousand dollars a day if they If they're missing they're they're drop off. So 80,000 to a hundred twenty thousand dollars today a Day as they sit on anchor and yes, I think people said yesterday. I see people in the text line. Yes, it'll be great for laying fishing Be great that I love I love y'all's silver lining what we're talking about y'all that There's a fish cobia. We call them laying they like to get under things with shade and so many ships out there It'll be a good thing Did see this this is coming from this is coming for the Port of Obio or Alabama's port This is from director and CEO John Driscoll. This was put out this morning I got it so the port of Obio is both a landlord and operating port with diverse cargo handling capabilities from steel to coal to general cargo and containers If a work stoppage occurs Impact should be localized to the container terminal which is operated by APM terminals We're working to minimize potential disruptions and ensure the fluidity of cargo movement in other areas of the port goes on to say The port has a long standing and historically good relationship with Union labor whose work is critical to the port's ability to deliver for Alabama and The entire United States at the end of the day a strike isn't good for anyone And we hope to see the ILA come back to the table for productive conversations soon Says And so in some of the history digging digging this up, and I actually have a copy We have time in today's show, but it looks like we'll be going on this Little further. I looked up the last deal between the the collective bargaining agreement that was offered between the US MX which is the United States Maritime Alliance and the ILA the International Longshoreman's Association, and I've dug through this and we can probably It goes through their competitive labor agreement local bargaining what wage increases they are looking for so I've got that stuff printed I found it online. I can probably link it through where y'all can check it out as well But yeah, there's been I mean two agreements over the last about 16 years between the ILA and the US MX one back in 2013 one in 2018 This one is the one I have in front of me is I think the 20 2018 yeah, this is the 2018 the most recent agreement from them, but yeah one in 2013 one in 2018 I know some news forces were reporting there hadn't been an agreement since 70s, but I think that may be nationally Now some of the things that were and folks that are with ILA are informed here can give me an update on this But I asked about this the gate technology About the automatic gates and then the question about the automatic cranes and all this They're saying that there's not a change in gate technology and mobile that that is not an effect can y'all help me with that Is it because I guess one of the big deals here is obviously Increase in wages, but to block the automatic gates and and offloading and some different things like that So this is it's interesting and yeah, like I said, I have this this master contract from the last time in 2018 What they were asking for and we can compare this to the new demands out there from the ILA as we Look in a situation where yeah, you've got to Put in the screws to you put in the screws to you, right? Well, that was a commentary that came up from the the head of ILA Harold Daggett and I know that I did an adult and played it this morning But played the and they played a clip of a play a little longer version of it and would say this if you're looking for Just an idea here for a I don't know Trying to win people to your side. I don't know if this came out I mean it probably fires up the people in the ILA like you raw raw raw, but if you're saying this to the general public I don't know here it is. This is a Harold Daggett from ILA yesterday. Let me explain something to you These people today don't know where the strike is When my men hit the streets from man to Texas every single port a lot down You know what's gonna happen? I'll tell you first week Be all over the news every night boom boom second week Guys who sell cars can't sell cars cuz the cars ain't coming in off the ships They get laid off third week Mall saw closing down. They can't get the goods from China. They can't sell clothes They can't do this everything in the United States comes on a ship. They go out of business Construction workers get laid off because the materials aren't coming in the steel is not coming in the lumber's not coming in They lose their job Everybody's hating the longshoreman now because now they realize how important our jobs are now I have the president screaming at me. I'm putting a teff Harley on you. Go ahead Teff Harley means I have to go back to work for 90 days after cooling off period Do you think when I go back to 90 days those men are gonna go to work on up here? It's gonna cost the money the company's money to pay the salaries. Well, yeah Go went from 30 moves a now and maybe to eight They're gonna be like this Who's gonna win here in the long run? You better off sitting down and let's get a contract and let's move on with this world and in today's world. I'll cripple you I will cripple you and you have no idea what that means. Nobody done. Okay, so I will end Could that be accurate? Sure. It could be accurate. Is that the thing you would say behind closed doors if you're negotiating? negotiating sure I Don't know in a PR move if that's the best thing that I will cripple you meaning for all the other people affected I Would have spun it differently. I was just like trying to put myself in his shoes, but Also on this automation debate about the gates and all that President CEO of the Mobile Chamber former Congressman Bradley Byrne commented on that Yesterday in a story that was on WPMI with Andrea Raimi said this Automation so just a total red herring that automation they keep referring to with the portamobile has been in place since 2008 They've negotiated two contracts since and never bought that up as an issue. Okay, so I so is that But also I would argue back the other way that maybe the automation thing is not an issue here, but it's At other ports and the they're negotiating in mass of course So maybe the automation thing is is different at New Orleans or in Savannah or New York, New Jersey Let's see Chris and Daphne said hey Sean shouldn't K IV have said have something to say about the strike since she's the one that really pushed for the Deep report and that expense. I wonder if we We have a different kind of governor, right? We just have a different and she's popular. Look at the reelection. Look at the you know, I've had you look at the polling out there She's popular. So Maybe people are fine with it. I would imagine That if somebody else was governor they would have a pressure on it if they'd like hey gather up here here's what's going on. This is a very important thing because It affects all 67 counties the port. It's not just a Some Opio, of course. I like to call it the port of Opio and yes, I am I a Mobile guy Southwest, Alabama got sure but we're connected to the rest of the state of Alabama So the governor should be talking about something that that is that important if there was some kind of ribbon cutting or something Should be involved in it. Okay, fine So then when something's going wrong come down here and or just do the pressure in Montgomery and just say, you know, even if it's platitudes I hope both sides Come to the table you could throw something out about hardworking, Alabamians and Whatever you want to throw out a governor IV, but you had to have some presence. Actually, I think that's Chris is something to think about for sure. Why didn't we not hear some big enough story? I bet you in other states. I guess I don't know but they're They're their top executive branch officials probably came out and commented on it. CB Carl said that's a lot of anchor change I was wondering about the triple tail. See I I'm happy about my audience. We speak the same language. Oh, I don't want the stoppage Maybe people go mad. It's really going to be good for the lingfishing And yeah, they're saying that these ships are on the way. I asked the question this morning the ships that are on the way are not going to be diverted They're going to come in and anchor up Waiting for the bar pilots. I guess to take them in When things open back up Jerry says I think you're right about the cold terminal. It's a different contract than the container terminal. However, it could be that the other locals are Respecting the local strike. Maybe some of the bar pilots also respecting the ILA strike interesting. I hadn't thought about that Jerry And he goes on say if I were paying dues to a union a trade group like BCA or even a worthless group like the Chamber of Commerce I would want someone like the ILA leader speaking for me But I would want that strategically I'd want that behind closed doors Right, that's a kind of tough talk. I mean Lord knows we've all been in negotiations, you know when you're in there and A lot of tough talk in there. But if I'm trying to get the American people in a public thing on my side, I probably would have Spun it a little bit differently But we found out said I just asked my company for a 75% raise and I was going or I was going down strike They told me good luck with that The Mariners says God. I hate the Union longshoremen. I Dread entering a port where I have to use them they're single-handedly responsible for the failure of shorts. She This is a little racial short sea shipping in the United States. I Need some more education on that matter. This is This is uh, I think there's a that's why I'm trying to do what I did last night This morning and I'll keep trying to do to understand this and get the facts so we can talk about it as group here because you can Make opinions then when you have all the facts it doesn't mean everybody's gonna agree But at least you're coming from the same page of paper, right? All right news coming up next we'll be right back You're listening to midday mobile with Sean Sullivan on FM talk 106 five call Sean now at three four three zero one oh six All right, by the way, just watching one of the monitors here Jake Sullivan no relation Even if there is no relation National security advisor and it's a advisor The from Vermont, I don't know they probably they're probably from the Sullivan's to come by a good from over in Waterford my people were from the ragged southwest at, you know Scuperine, Castletown Barra. They're probably different. They're probably the good Sullivan's for the bat whatever, but he was saying that They're saying no significant escalation by Iran. They didn't see Where they didn't see the significant escalation by Ron, but they said the missile launches didn't do them paraphrasing on the On the fast here Didn't do significant damage or something. We'll see because I'm watching things on Twitter that show me that they did Where's the truth? We we got a dig for that don't we I'll tell you something that's true Here's my segue and I will tell you so there's a buddy of mine So like so many people talk about on the show friends mind Clint Jamison. I've been buddies for 25 years or so and I told you I used to produce his show I'd like to be the producer. He did a show that was all about extras like doing triathlons doing those adventure races all that's a pretty cool stuff and But he was always big into bicycling back then and then when years later He hung out his own shingle it made complete sense to me on the bicycle front He owns adventure earth bicycles. So the guy's been riding bikes. He still does he comes out to West Mobile right around where I live Doing some of that gravel biking, you know on the dirt roads out there But the guy's always been in the bicycles and so years ago when he said man, you got to check out these e-bikes He said you hunt you this is gonna be perfect for you He got me on the e-bike and like I've told y'all over the years I've absolutely fallen in love with the e-bike and I do get more exercise because if I had a regular bike Unlike Clint I probably wouldn't ride it all the time with the e-bike I can ride it pedal it if I get in a hill. I don't want to pedal the whole way up or Soft or sand that I want to pedal through because I do off-road stuff The bike kicks in gives me a little juice. Although if I wanted to run it electric the whole time. It does that as well. I use it for Exercise use it for getting around the woods like I said planning to do a Canoe shuttle with a buddy of mine. We're gonna do a pretty cool float. Maybe we'll put pictures up on Instagram But I talk to people all the time that either like one of my buddies uses it to keep up with his daughter who runs cross country So when she's out exercise and getting ready you can follow along other people I know they have a camper they have the e-bikes to take wherever they go with their camper they park it they Use the e-bike to get around town Whatever you do you go see a full selection of these electric bikes and adventure earth bicycle 75 in stock at any point 400 of the non-e-bikes as well plus they're a good old-fashioned bike shop Meaning they do service and repairs on your bikes like in the old days So take your bikes in there get the work done and check out your next bike with my man Clint Jameson adventure earth bicycles Online in adventure - earth calm the best go seem in person the most fun is to seem in person at the corner of little flower and airport and mobile Clint Jameson and adventure earth bicycles everything inside to get you outside Gosh, there are so many texts here. We'll probably try to get some of these on tomorrow's show Somebody coming back here so the mariner had said he hated Union Longshoreman then a Response here blank him. Stevie doors get more production during ILA strikes because they're able To contract labor that costs less and aren't required to have 15 minute breaks per hour This is coming from the horse's mouth free markets mean cheaper prices for everyone The sector says maybe if the ILA was wouldn't such a jerks like Daggett the ports would try to replace them with The ports wouldn't try to replace them with robots and my entire job is exporting But listening to Harold Dogget makes me clearly see Why their bosses want robots? All right, we'll do I'll do more of my homework and be talking about this more tomorrow Of course, we are live at the battleship for tomorrow show Paul Finebaum on the way next y'all have a great afternoon (upbeat music)
