It's me, Chris Brack. I'm here with my two mates, Kev and Ashley. It finished Liverpool 2, Belong Janil, Liverpool are two for two in the Champions League. Ashley, are these mischamps legal, aren't they? It felt like it was a little bit harder of a challenge today. I think we had to work for it. But yeah, what a great result. What a great result getting back to Anfield where we belong in the Champions League. Yeah, Kev, their position in the league is a bit of a false position. They are much better than AC Milan. Yeah, can you just repeat the start a bit? Where Liverpool won their second Champions League game, back to back, goalless, clean sheet, one two no. Because I swear to God, watching the TV coverage, I was watching you, swear to God, it was a horror or so. Oh, you thought we got back? Yeah, it's all right, I had seen. So they thought we were lucky to get away with it. It is a thing, do you know what? Sometimes you play opposition to a quite good, and do you know what? They will get chances, that's why you have a goal. No. It's not allowed, apparently. Every game's going to be just, no one gets an attack, it's one of those games. That's football new ones to a whole new level. I know, it's a new way to catch it. Yeah, it's a new way to catch it. That'll never get catch on, that's too much for hippie. That's hippie like stuff, kind of grabbing that. Right, actually, while we kept carrying on something like two old men, because, actually, because we are. So it turns the line up. Only one change on the weekend, which was Darwin Eunice of the Jossle, which is probably no real surprise, with just a cinched out. Were you a little surprised, perhaps not more changes? Yeah, I was expecting a little bit more rotation. I don't know if we got a false dawn of rotation with all the full change versus West Ham. I think that was probably just due to the competition more than anything else. I thought maybe one or two changes more, but I was fine with that. It was a really strong team. When it came out, I felt very confident. What about you guys? Careful, do you think that, I think you move both, like, would expect three or four, or is it the theory I had, which is maybe in Slotsman, he thinks, belong, you're stronger than Crystal Palace, and you may see a little bit more rotation against Palace. I honestly did expect three or four changes. I would, I was surprised that that put didn't start. Wasn't surprised Nunez started. I'll be honest, I expected Curtis Jones to start over Subazla. Nothing to do with Subazla's form or anything like that, but workload, because especially country's captains, when they go away, are going to play 180 minutes, both of them. Sorry, all of them, Robertson, Ben Dyke, Subazla, any others as well. The vast majority, you can't see Gravenberg not playing starting two games from Neverland's either, so I expected the changes, but you know what? Fair play to Slots, because he went as probably as strong as he could, and he paid all respect to Bologna, and it needed to, you know? It was, I think, straight up, it's probably the first game this season, where we faced the side that's given, that there's been real jeopardy in it, you know, a side that had a goal, that were technically very good, that had a plan that were really good on the ball, and they tested us, you know, and I think that's a good thing. I enjoyed the game, I enjoyed almost all of it. Yeah, there's stuff there to work on, we knew there was stuff there to work on, you know, this is the start of a new era, so it's not going to be all sun lighting roses in the garden, there's going to be hiccups and problems along the way, there are times when we've played against sides like that, where we've messed up a one-nil lead, and we've ended up falling behind by stupid mistakes, you know, so look, we come out of it with a clean shake, and we come out of it with a two-nil wind, and we go on, you know, it's the start of the Champions League process, ideally, you know, with this new group format, you want to hopefully have it wrapped up by the time the January fixtures come around. If you can be in that position where you can really heavily rotate in the last two fixtures, then, you know, that's a good spot to be in, but yeah, this was a tough night, and a good night, you know, we needed to have this kind of night, I think, you know, because we've had pretty much the run of the mill in most of the games we've played, even the forest game, we pretty much had the run of it, barrel, the mistake we made, you know, so it's no harm to get a bit of a wake-up call, and say, yeah, you're not the finished product yet, that's the start. I mean, as they exposed, the one thing they did well, we did a lot of things, we were able on you, but it was, especially from our, like, gold kicks, where we like to play it short, invite prepping, which is what we do, we did that, we tried to do that a little bit more with Klopp, but they pressed really high, and really bravely, which is what Asil answered it to us in the aeroplane, and we got caught out by it, I thought we dealt with that better than we have done before, it looks like it's a bit of a risk and reward, so early on the first 25 minutes, it really fell for us, and then, you know, when they get it right, it puts you in the immense pressure, but, you know, all the whole, I thought chances-wise, I thought, majority of the saves would save you'd expect Allison to make. Yeah, yeah, I think, I mean, there was one double save, I think one of them went off the post, midway through the first half, that, you know, I was really happy that Allison was single, but for the first half, I think most of it was saves that I was expecting him to make, and I thought, I actually thought we had pretty good control for, I want to say maybe like the first 30 minutes, until that kind of flurry of chances that they got right around 30, 35, but I thought we were, you know, we were really speedy off of the, like, right out of the get-go, I noticed that a lot of our research were really fast, even whether it was like a goal kick or a throw-in, or any of those things, everything was just immediately back on the, back on the pitch as fast as possible, and our press was very good for the first half, and I think it kind of flipped right when that control, kind of flipped at 30 minutes, was like, their press felt like it was more effective at that point in time, but in terms of the start, like, I was very, very pleased with our, our tempo, because we've been pretty slow in the first half, so it was, it was a nice change to see just a bit of eagerness and a bit of, I don't know, just, just dialing that tempo out slightly from what we've seen the last couple of weeks. Yeah, I mean, in the first 25, actually, we were, the interplay from the attack was really good, you know, I think the only frustration was, and we'll cut, I mean, Mo was an absolute irregular a little bit tonight, is every, he was just trying to pay a pat, a lot of it, everyone tried to pay the final pass a bit too soon, it was like being a bit over eager. It was so close too, like, it just felt like his radar was off by like, yeah, but then he still feels finishes with a goal and assists, so, you know, it's not the end of the world, but talk through the opening goal though, McCallister's first goal of the Champions League, actually, it's, it's a lovely goal, you know, excellent work by Darwin, great ball by Mo, and about, you can't miss from there, even if he has got no speed according to FIFA. Yeah, I mean, if he hadn't scored it, Diaz was right there behind him to score it, so it was a tap in for either of them. I was, that was one moment where Nunez wasn't selfish, and I thought he was just going to turn and shoot like right at the top of the box, but he passed wide to Salah, and then Salah had that beautiful cross, which, it really didn't matter who was there, because the pass was what made the goal there, and I, you know, I am happy for McCallister, I think we've, we've kind of all been talking about how he's been really unlucky with the shots he's been taking. He's had a couple of really great saves made against him, and he was due, so I was pleased for him to get that. Yeah, so, you know, and then from that point, Kev, after we went one little up, just a little bit sloppy finish, you know, the final ball was just off, you know, Nunez has the offside, which of course, now, you know, that's all we'll hear about now for the next three days. You may have a bit of a debate. I felt he could have curved his run, but I mean, well, after we play, you made a good point, as in, the pass to him was probably delayed a bit too much when he's at full pace. So, yeah, it's a shame for him, because that's you finish. It was a really good finish. It was really good defending. Nunez is looking across at the left centre back, so he knows he's ahead of him. He's banking on the fact that the right centre back is on the cover, and he literally just holds his run. Let's start and go. The pass needed to come earlier. It's impossible to run to make that run bending when you're already running an Australian impossible. So, you know, he did the right thing, he put it away, and let VR decide if it's offside or not. But before that, we did exactly the same to them. When they had their goal, there was offside. We let him run offside. It's plenty room there for you, and that's really good defending. So, you can't have your cake and eat it. It was the both sides defended that situate, both situations really, really well. There was 90 seconds between their goal and our goal. It's a really good habit to have. As to spot on the cross, made the goal a tap in, because the trajectory of the cross took the keeper out of the equation. It was so flat he couldn't come for it. It wasn't that it was like fired or fizzed or anything like that. It was just a perfect trajectory to land at his feet, all he had to do was tap it in. We had three players tonight making their Anfield debut on Champions League Night. He was one, you know. So, it was a big night for him, and the performances he's put in this season, he's deserved that. It was nice to see a central midfielder making that run to be in the box as the extra man as well. But for the first 25 minutes, we were purring. The link up, some of the link up play was unreal. The quick one twos, the one touch passing, the interplay. It was brilliant. It was a joy to watch it, and it was like a light switch flicked for Bologna when they decided to go a man for man. And you could tell the difference between their press and our press, our press on their keeper was with four players. It was a striker, Darwin, who ran his socks off, ran himself into the ground. And you had your three attacking midfielders in Salah, Sobozlei, and Diaz trying to win the ball, and they were able to get out really easily. On the flip side, they went man for man. Sobozlei, as already said, he tells out, wait, wait, wait, hold the ball, hold the ball, wait for the trigger, wait for one of their players to commit, and then you go. So, it's like a game of chicken, you know, who's going to blink first. But when they were pressing, they were pressing with six. And it was, the only ball you can hit into midfield from there was the one to grab invert or one to mechanista. It really did need Sobozlei to drop in, to make a third man, to make the extra player for Addison to be able to hit a bit of short pass. Or if you're going to go along, you've almost got to signal it to give the midfielders time to be able to get up to win the second ball, because with the best will in the world, they're playing with three centre backs and a left back. Posh is a centre back playing a right back. So, anything that goes up in the air, they're going to probably win the first ball. So, your midfielders have to come and engage to try to win the second ball so you start your play from higher at the pitch. They never did, because our midfielders were coming deep to look for the ball. When Addison hit it forward, Melania was sweeping up all random, and they built from there, and they got confidence from that. I mean, all told, Melania for all of their Huff and Puff and for all of their good play, and they did play really well, they had two shots on target, one big chance. So, even the chances that we were giving up, as I posted up there earlier on, even the chances that they were creating, there weren't exactly high quality chances. So, and your in the Champions League against good sides, they're going to get chances. It's about limiting the chances that they get, so that you're not gifting them tap-ins. You know, that they're going to have to work for them, they're going to have to, shots from outside the block, the box, whatever. But ultimately, I think overall, it was tough, it was a tough night, and there's lessons definitely to learn from it, but overall, we were the better side, and we deserved the win. So, saying it any way different is if it's, you know, people in title care opinion, but that's what I saw. So, aside with a good XG, you know, creating good chances in the first 25 minutes, and then it looked like we got into situations where one is up. We don't have to come out and play, you know, and over at home, but look, at the end of the day, it's all about three points. It's all about getting through the group stage, and I thought, yeah, we could have played better in points, for sure, but ultimately, it's about the win. And also, it's the managers, and if you go over there, this is the manager who's not, he's not on 10 games yet, for Liverpool. You know, it's so early, so you could have- It's the first one to win eight of those nine games. Yeah, so, you know, it's that way to, that's that way to look at it. I mean, actually, look, get your opinion on the way Liverpool are playing, because it does seem to be a talking point. It's something a little bit of flashbacks for the last year or so where it felt like every attack against us winning, always felt like we weren't one-nil down. You know, we've got a bit of a cycle of that, probably from the tail end of the first time Liverpool tried to try, got some chances they found against Madrid, where they were trying to chase the quad, and that kind of followed through for a couple of seasons. It's a slightly different setup, and also it's a different way of playing, which is to be more patient, is to invite more pressure, which it's a risk reward. But when the poor were winning big trophies, you know, the worst of this thing of, oh, Liverpool get up chances when you look at them, they're going, yeah, but they're not high quality chances, or the joke that we always had, which was every chance that was against us was off-side, so we didn't matter anyway, which some of theirs were. Yeah, I think, I think we're all going to have to do a little bit of adjusting with our perception of what it means for Liverpool to be playing well, because with Klopp, when Liverpool were playing well, it was counter attack after counter attack, it was heavy middle football, it was, you know, we were constantly go-go-go, and that meant that the team was on top. When we're playing well with slot system, which is still kind of, and I can't really define that yet, but I do think it comes with control in the middle of the park, I think it comes with, you know, those careful little interplay, you know, when we have the proper rotation where the players almost know telepathically where the other players are going to be, there's elements to it where we don't know what that finished product of what it means for a slot team to be playing well, but I know that it looks different from what a Klopp team playing well looks like, and so I think because we're not seeing that, we're not seeing that, like, Klopp crazy heavy middle football, we might be perceiving it as, oh, the team's not playing well, but I think the team actually is playing well, it's just playing differently, and I think there's a lot of control there that we're kind of glossing over when we're talking about, you know, how, I don't know, I think there's a lot of people in the chat and a lot of people on Telegram that are like, oh, we're doing well, we weren't doing well, but we were actually very controlled, and like Kev said, they only had two shots, and so I think our perception just might need to shift a little bit, and that'll come with time. Yeah, we keep hearing, you know, when we play a good side, this is going to be difficult. We'll have to see because it seems to be every time there's an alleged good side-lippler player, and we've won, it's like, yeah, but not really that good. Yeah, AC Milan was a test, yeah, but they're not that good. But when we beat them, they weren't that good, you know, the 90 was a potential banana skin, and say what you want by your eyes, my little lip was always a tough game, because of the game around it, and two hours of lip will make that pretty easy, you know. The only game lip will have lost is where two hours of lip will collectively will pour, and to be fair, as far as they took advantage of it. Right, so half time, one day up, you know, I'd add a few little scares, but you know, in general, I think lip will deserve to be ahead. Actually, let's talk about the man in the middle, because, oh, by word, I messaged you, what was worse, his performance, because he didn't crop for both sides, or that massive unibrowie's girl. I could work out what was worse. I actually spent half time investigating the ref, just trying to figure out what his background was, and for context, that was his second Champions League game ever. He's from Montenegro, which really has no reference to his performance at all. But yeah, second Champions League match, he's had a few matches in the lower level European competitions, but it looked like it was only his second Champions League match today, because the way he was throwing yellow cards out, for things that were not yellow cards, like the Kanate, I don't know, I don't even know what you would call it, like it was just like a gendered two players coming together in a corner. But you can see what Kanate was saying, because it wasn't the first time Liverpool has been saying is excessive holding, which is a thing you wait for it said, is a thing they're going to stamp down on, which I'll be honest. It's the thing that you're going to stamp down on for that, but then not for the Van Dyke pulling down. I don't know, I just think it was something out of nothing. It wasn't worthy of a yellow card. Now it was pretty, I mean, of course the end, you know, Costas gets booked to make it a good tackle. I mean, that's what it was like, he literally was so, and he was both ways, because there were some free kicks where he got a little pullback, so he got that, he just let go. He was very consistent, he was just a bit average really. Luckily, for us, you know, Liverpool made it and him a non-event, which is a good thing, because sometimes we have been caught out by those sort of things. Second after underway, no real changes. Again, it was, you know, a little bit more end-to-end, you know, Allison makes a good save near post. It's a save you're expecting to make, but it's from a dangerous free kick, which goes over everyone. It's a good routine, actually, gets the guy free at the back post, and he makes good of it. I think the way the second half, it was, it carried on the same. I was expecting to try for us to work out a way of giving Allison more options, better options, and that didn't come until after the second goal. After the second goal, it was, they deflated, and we started to dominate possession, and we just managed the game out really. But, yeah, it was, you could tell, I honestly think Darwin tonight will get a lot of grief, and what have you, but I think he ran himself into the ground quite the different. Yeah, well, no, I disagree. I think it was night and day, the difference in the link play, when you could see the difference in the two when Joseph came on, the no-look passes from McAllister that he always looks for to play into space. He does, did it with Darwin a few times, and Darwin's on his heels, instead of expecting it to be that pass, and already being on the move, whereas Jotta expects to pass. He is on the move. He gets that. Was that also a bit of rhythm, because of Jotta's play? No, I don't think it is. I just don't think it's in Darwin's game. I think Darwin is a center forward, a striker, who plays on the shoulder and looks to run in behind, looks to spin their center back and go in behind. Jotta is someone who, along the lines of Bobby Firmino, will come short to go along, and I think they're two completely different players. Which is not a bad thing. It's probably the horse for causes, because they do play a high-line ball on you, so actually, playing Darwin in there probably works for that game. In case of lower block, that's where Jotta comes into his elbow. I suppose you could put it on McAllister in a way that, look, Darwin isn't going to come short. I can't play that no-look pass, because he's not going to be there. But two or three times that he did play it, every single time, Darwin was on his heels, and it was just nicked in front of him. I mean, overall, I thought he had a decent night. He's worked great, he's endeavored. He's touched for, do you remember the first half? He took that one on his chest and shot it with his left foot. If that had gone in, that would have been some goal. I mean, he was unlucky. The only thing he was unlucky with was good defended. But yeah, on an overnight, Salah makes that those couple of passes, and he comes out with a brace. So it wasn't disastrous. It wasn't outstanding. It was more of a frustrating night. But in the second half, Jotta did make a big difference when he came on. There's no doubt about that. Actually, I think Salah was probably indicative of the Liverpool performance in terms of it was just the final ball was sloppy, and that tends to be where Bologna took advantage, which was sloppy, final ball, and then we got caught with transition. But to be fair, I know he's got a lot of stick recently, but I actually thought off the ball, Compa's live covering, especially when those contacts was really, really good, and you know, along with Granburg, we'll have a good 10 minutes shot by Granburg because he was excellent. But to be heard, Compa's live, that's one thing I thought he did really well. Every time the poor messed up a pass in the attack in there, which is quite often, he was won the first there to win it back, get the free kick, get the throw in. You know, stuff probably we were as good at last season with being honest. That transition was a thing we got caught with. I do think that's the thing we've got better with. Yeah, I definitely see an improvement there, you know, because that just that left us so exposed last year when we didn't have the runners coming back to press the way that Salah has been coming back and pressing. And we are asked, like, Salah is asking a lot of Salah's life. He's doing a lot of running off the ball, you know, and thank goodness he has the engine that he does have. You know, and I think that Curtis Jones is going to have a lot of work to build up his endurance so that he can kind of do that same job if that's the role that Salah chooses to play him in. But yeah, I mean, our midfield unit as a whole, I'm really starting to enjoy the chemistry that's going in there. And I think there's such a good balance of just agility and intelligence between, like, those three guys, I think, like, McAllister really has kind of the brains and then the other two guys have kind of the brawn for lack of a better term. And it just it's a very, very nice balance. So I'm really encouraged by that going forward. Mike's right, Michael Bufdrey here. If Donald Scorpion passed the come off the most, Salah. Oh, my gosh. The best to see is ever where every mentor or not, it was nearly the perfect decision. I was like, what is the act? Like, what is he, what is he trying to do there? But it was very, it was actually very close to coming off. Yeah, so absolutely brilliant. So Mo Salah, Kepto, oh, can we talk about first? First off, because it was so funny because you and me did the same thing about the non-fallen Mo Salah when you meet both lost our shit and then going, oh, yeah, it's good to call that. So funny. Kepto's put a voice notes towards saying this reference. I never do voice notes. It's a fucking joke, it's referee. After now, after a biggest foul ever, then he went, ah, fair play, actually, you know, that's not a foul. But I was scared when I've literally just done the same rant that the wife got that. Oh, yeah, that's not a foul. Yeah, it was, it was one of them. It was like, I was convinced everything looked right. You know, it just looked a foul all day, every day, twice or so, then you see the replay, oh, no, no, no. That's what he's going to eat humble pie. We both did it. We all went, ah, yeah, that's wrong. Actually, you already told us it wasn't a foul. We're like, yeah, we should just listen to Ashley really, shouldn't we? Yeah. So let's talk about Mo Salah and then Ashley can then give us all the honest lock quotes because there's loads of them and Ashley's doing all the work to be fair when we knew you were just talking dribble. Yeah. That Mo Salah goal had shades of the Chelsea one of a few years ago. I think it's not as far out, but that type of bench shot and Ashley, you messaged good. It's about timely scores one of them. He has a school one for a while. It's, it's, I feel like it's one of those things that you expect him to do. I don't know, like, it's been a while since we've seen him do it, but we know he has it in his locker and there are so many times where he shakes up to shoot and it's just off the post or it's just wide and it's like, it's just so satisfying when you see that goal go in. It's satisfying for him because he did not have his shooting radar on today. The number of passes that, just that final pass that was just 10% off of where it could have been was driving me nuts. And I put in the chat, like, there were a few people that were talking about, you know, Salah is passing and I 100% agree. His passing was shit for 90% of the game, but for the 10% of the game that it was on where he got the past to McAllister right for his school. And then, you know, for that finish, we all forgive him at the end of the day because that's what Mo Salah is all about. Like, even if he's having an off day, he doesn't stop trying. And I think that's the difference between, like, the, the Mo Salah when he was having that really bad spell, like post-afcon and things like that versus this Mo Salah is even if he is slightly off, he doesn't stop and he doesn't, he doesn't drop his head, and that's very encouraging. Because there is a narrative that Mo Salah has been just off it at the start of the season. And I saw Michael Reed. Don't say that, though. I'll say Michael Reed put a tweet out saying he's the fastest person since John Barnes in the 89 season to get five goals and five assists after nine games. That's the last time it was done. So, while he's all around played, there are elements of it that are sloppy and, you know, we would like to see tightened up. And I'm sure that will come. You know, he's still doing the output nine times out of ten. I mean, that's why that's come out with me about Mo Salah. He's now either scored or assisted in his last six Champions League games at Anfield. You know, he's first Liverpool player to do Liverpool history, sorry, to score five consecutive home Champions League or European cup goals. No one's done that before. So, you know, and it says Mo Salah is the third player to score five consecutive UEFA Champions League, home in five Champions League home games for Premier League side. After Tiana Reed, who did seven, who did six in a row. So, he becomes the all-time African goals scorer in the Champions League after the goal today. He passes Didi a Drogba. So, those are a lot of records that he broke on a day that he was not playing very well. Yeah, so it just looks like it records us. It's what he's there for. Look, our standards are so high. Like, we know that that 10% pass, we know he has it in him to complete those passes. And I think that's why we look at it and we're just like, oh my God, why is he? Why can't he get that perfect? We know he can get it perfect. It's always the most difficult pass, the final pass. It's the high risk that he's prepared to gamble and try to make the pass. And most of the time, it won't come off because if it did come off all the time, games would be 8, 9, 10 every week. They're not. Football is a low scoring game and it's a game that is literally mistakes is where goals are scored from. And to be fair, from a Bologna point of view, I don't think there's much they can do about any of them because for Salah's goal, the run from Trent makes the space because their winger was tracking Mo, then Trent made the overlap. He went with Trent, freed up the space. He took the extra touch, whipped it into the corner. And he had a size error earlier on that just went just wide in the second half. So I think I don't think it was long before that either. So he had the size error. And yeah, he deserved it. But at the same time, there's certain parts of his game, especially in the first half, where the ball was coming to him. There was one time where he was Horst on the ground. And but the other time, he stood on the left back foot and I swear to God he did it intentionally to get away from it because he was right on him all day. I swear to God, he just felt him. He was like, your foot is right about that. And he just, and he got away. As I better some doing tactics. It happens a lot. Let's be honest. He's not getting any calls in his favor. So he's going to have exactly. But look, there, he's going to have a night and now you can feel it's coming. It's bubbling that he's going to have a night, you know, and it could come against Palace. It could come against Chelsea. But yeah, he's one of these like Mo Salah performances. And I don't think it's far away. I genuinely don't. I think he's right on the card. And no, he's still, I mean, they'll talk about Foden and they'll talk about Palmer and they talk about Saka. Mo Salah is the standard. You know, he's still the standard. You know, this is his eighth season at Liverpool. And he's the level that players have to try to get to because there's no signs of him slowing up. You know, five and five, five goals, five assists, nine games. He looks, and he looks more of a selfless player than he ever has been. He looks like he's really wants to get others involved and bring others into play and help create more chances for other people. Where's before he? It wasn't in his makeup. It was all goals, goals, goals. You know, but now he's evolving that bit more. Yeah, he could have done better in certain aspects tonight, but yeah, he'll never stop taking those risks and trying to play those really difficult either needle passes. And most of the time it won't come off, but the other couple of times in the game it will. It gives the best thing about it is the chances that he's trying to create give really high quality chances. You know, you might not get a go from, but the chances that he's creating are high end. You know, so more often than now, with the followers that we have available, we will create, we will score plenty goals after, but as well as this is just my my take on salad minute. Cool. So before we go into actually reading all the quotes that you say for us, let's not forget our two charity partners, which is the Lighthouse Cafe in Dublin, which helps feed the homeless, which, and especially if he's getting colder, if all that help is needed. And in Liverpool, fan supporting food banks, you've seen them, they're outside Anfield, they're outside Gooderson, they're outside Taitelen's ground for the women's game as well. So our aim is to get to 10,000 euro and 5,000 euro for each one. And so if you can give, please give, if you can't, all the details are in the description below. Just sharing the WhatsApp group, social media, please, Kev is getting grumpier by the day, because you're not sharing it. And he's sending me voice notes, he's learnt the voice note routine now, it's really irritated. So if he could just aren't sharing, just to say we get a beautiful Kev, that'd be great. Cool. Right. It's now the actually section now, because this is where she takes over now and takes credit for all the people. We'll feed her back in about 10 minutes. Yeah, take it away. Allison came on in the post match, he spoke really well, he talked about Salah, he said, he's a player that helps us a lot. Sometimes it looks like he's not in the game, and then he puts the ball in the top corner, which is basically like what we were just saying. So a couple little facts, artist's plot becomes the first manager of Liverpool to win eight of his nine opening games, which is fantastic. And he came out post match, and he didn't, he didn't really color it any other way. He was very blunt, he said, Volonia made it difficult. He said, many times the last pass could have been better, let's put it that way. He said, the second half was better in pressing overall a good result, but I wouldn't use the word delighted myself. We had more control in my opinion in the second half than in the first half. And he continued good performance, but I would not call it unbelievable. So I think there were a lot of people that were pushing him for quotes, but you know, he was very honest. He he's not, he's not fluffing the team, which I appreciate. And then on the flip side, Vincenzo, Vincenzo, I don't know how you pronounce that, it's Jaliano. It's a great name. He came back and talked about Liverpool. He said, we will probably regret the fact that we didn't score, because we created a few clear cut something, something, something, because Chris just changed it. That was me. Sorry, baby self. We'll finish it. Hands off. We will start again. He said, we will probably regret the fact that we didn't score, because we created a few clear cut chances on some occasions. I hope this is a launch pad for us. I wish I had these memorized, but I am kind of going on the fly. I'm not that good. That's why she's the mature one of those three, isn't it? Right. So let's let's start with the full. Let's start with the real, the full bit then, because I'm sorry, I'll bring it up perfectly. Graven Birch is consistent, though, so far. Let's be honest. Ashley, I'll stick with you. He's been brilliant. Are we all part of the segment every week? It's incredible. It is becoming like the, it's still going to be who's going to be on the match, but you can't say Graven Birch, it's getting to that level at the moment, which is lovely to see. Don't get me wrong. I think we all agree. We still should have had a brought on from the field or just even for another option, but the job's a six. He's doing it his way and he's doing it well. Yeah. I mean, I think like in hindsight, there are definitely things that Graven Birch doesn't do that I think someone like a zoopamendy would have done, but in terms of highlighting Graven Birch's strengths and getting a midfield to play to those strengths, SWAT has done a fantastic job. I just love these kind of like runs that he's doing through midfield where it's almost impossible to get the ball off of him. And he did it a few times today and it's just it's amazing how press resistant he is. And I think you saw that today with their high press, just how press resistant Graven Birch is. And again, I'm just, I'm really loving the chemistry between those three guys in midfield. I didn't, I didn't expect it to work as well as it has worked. And I don't know about you guys, but like I've been surprised. I mean, he's been like the shining star of this first era of slots Liverpool. And I think that that's something that he should be commended for. I think I messaged you in the first half. He's got that genie body swerve down to a T. Oh, there's a bit of a hint of T in that, that little body swerve. I mean, that's where his athleticism is really because he does a little buzzer that he can inject it forward. What's asking, is he playing as a six or is he playing as a deep line? I think he still plays as a six, but he could do what for being you could do, which is every, for being able to just sat, the way the case was being able to hunt the ball, but the way the structure is now, in my opinion, is when he does hunt for it, and the cattle still all saw us like, are using the maturity of, well, we'll fill in and cover. So there's always someone which, as far as that time, last year, it was all go forward and good luck on there. Yeah, look, I mean, the body swerve that he did in the first half, where he sent you a man for the post. It was, it was outstanding. And I look, it was always a quality footballer. The gamble always is, can he learn a new position? Because if he can, then he's an attacking midfielder who can play it as a six. You look at what Roger does from Man City. Now look, he's 22 years of age. He's got a long way to go. Look what Declan Rice does for Arsenal, where, yeah, you can sit in, you can, you can be that linchpin, you can break up play, you can win your tackles, you can set attacks off, but you can join in as well. He's got that in his locker that he can, he can get forward, he can go on an overlap, he can, and he's got the quality of and vision in a final pass up there with anyone. You know, he was, there's a reason why he was brought, drafted into the IX team, so young. You know, that, he's, he's, he's an obvious talent. He's got the physical attributes of a Patrick Vieira. You know, his six foot three, he's got, got a really good burst of pace as well. But the hope was, does he have the football in IQ, the football intelligence to read the game in front of him and have the confidence to be able to take the ball in tight positions and play the right pass, make the right decision. That's, and that comes with experience, but so far, he's, he's been outstanding this season, he really, really has, and it helps having a calming influence of Alexis McAllister next to him, that has been there, seen it done, even at his age of what's McAllister 26, now he's a World Cup winner, he's seriously experienced, he's a key player for Argentina, and he's become a key player for us, because I like there's enough snide about him, there's, he's willing to put his foot in, where in, you know, it needs to go in, he's, he's no problem making, you know, a tactical foul when it needs it, but he's really good on the ball as well, and to top it off, you've got some buzz lights, so the blend and the mix, it really should work, you know, they're different, but not too different that they're separate and play, play as individuals, they all compliment each other really well, and, you know, it's a, it's a joy to watch him grow, you know, and the hope is, and I think the club will probably look to maybe reward him towards the end of the season with a good contract extension, because yeah, there's going to be an awful lot of people looking at him, you know, he's a serious player, I guarantee you this, the Netherlands aren't going to be missing Franky Dion as much as what they thought they would, you know, which is a couple of times when he's playing as Franky Dion has an excellent play, yeah, seriously, I think a lot of credit goes to slot and for pushing for him so hard, because I think for the end of last year, like, when we signed him, I think a lot of us were kind of questioning, like, why, why, because we didn't really see a ton of him, we didn't see him used to this potential, and I think, I think both Klopp and Peplinder saw, like, maybe not this specific iteration of Ryan Grabemberich, but they saw his football intelligence, and they knew from his history at Ix, and probably from the Dutch system, that he was probably this level, and we just didn't, we didn't see it last year, because he just didn't have that chance to find a position, but I do think they pushed really hard for him, and he was up there, I believe with, who is it, Chua Mani, and I think probably Jude Bellingham, he was on their list of, like, game changers, and that was something that Peplinder's always said in his press conferences, that Liverpool wanted to spend on youth and game changers, and Grabemberch was one of those game changers that they had on a list, and it's very, very interesting to see that come to fruition now, and he really, truly is exactly what it says on the tin, he's been a game changer. Yeah, very, very, very true. Right, actually, I'll stick to you, this is your favourite part of the show. Mani the match, honorable mention, could do better. Okay, um, I need Kevin, Kevin is more thinking to us, we can't, you know what? I'm going to give Kevin easy tap in, because I think I probably said one player, who we just spoke about several times, I'm going to give the man of the match to Saba's like, just for a change of pace, I think that he did a lot of running off the ball. I think the obvious answer is, you know, our other midfielder, but I'm going to give Saba's life some credit there. I thought our defensive pairing was very good as, you know, that's not one person, but as an honorable mention, I'm going to give our defensive pairing, especially with the two kind of stupid yellow cards that they had to play on for the entirety of the game. Um, so I think that, I think they deserve a mention. Um, could do better. I know that we talked about Nunes, um, doing well, but I still think that he is better than what he's performing at. And I think that little things like, like him being offside is going to come back to bite him in the media. And I don't want to be another person that piles that on him, but like he doesn't need to be offside. He is so fast. He will beat people in a sprint nine times out of 10, unless it's like Mickey Vanderven, I think he's going to win. Um, so I think that if he could just hold that run ever so slightly, he would get into so many more positions. And I, I just, he's one of those players, kind of like Salah, where we know that he can do better. And I think that's why we're all being hard on him. Um, because I know that he can do better. Um, so that those will be my three and a half. Cool. Careful. Cheers. Uh, look, I give the man on the master lexical. So, um, I think the goal just, the goal just tipped it. I love the, I love a midfield runner, you know, getting into the box, make the extra man and finishing it off. If only he was faster, I care. He's that fast. He's, um, fast enough. Yeah. I love how would always get it over as well. Yeah. That's what I mean. But it was, I loved how annoyed he was getting. So it was good. Yeah, you are that slow. So it was, I just think with football intelligence. Oh, yeah, he, he's overall game tonight. He's control and passing. Um, you're really, really good. Um, but I, I'd be honest, I think limiting that belonging side to a couple of real, you know, a couple of chances. You know, I'm grabbing birch would definitely, yeah, I'm trying to go make some way what, no grabbing birch shop. Look, I haven't got to be yet. I'll go for the easy win. Yeah, it's, it's, you'll get it from the most of the past. Captain Anunas, are you at the easy top? Oh, gosh. Yeah, you are. Oh, no, I don't have the McAllister tap in. I like McAllister for man in the master. Sure. Honorable mentioned that Virgil was really good. So Virgil, Kanate and Robertson managed their bookings really, really well. Um, they largely, they got their body in the way to make good blocks. They could have done better on the ball getting out. But overall, look, they have a clean sheet and the fact they all managed to double. With a finicky breath, you know, a referee was, it was really picky. You know, Ali, yeah, Sam Tan did their makes a good boy. Ali deserves a shot as well. Look, I think Ali wasn't helped by his options to pass out, but his distribution could have been a lot better tonight. But it's shot stopping sublime as always. His shot stopping, he's making saves and getting himself into the perfect position so often. Do you like, it's just Alison? You know, there's a great interview with him that came out today, by the way. Um, is that the one with your heart? Yeah, it was really good. I haven't seen it yet. I've got to watch that. I've got to try and find that. Yeah, I've seen one clip from it where he asked that the recruit Tash isn't going back to his wife or killer, which is, yeah, I was kind of hoping to recruit. No, I, I tell you, one player that I think could, could do more, could have done more is Lewis Diaz. I think tonight, he had a really tough night. Do you remember, I don't know who I was on a show with, but I said about Bologna that they have a player there. They have a few players. Arceline is one is a really good player and posh, the one who was playing it right back. I think he gave Lewis is a really tough night. And just before he came off, he had that chance. It was probably the only time in the game where he got his customary run across the box. And three or four times he made the attempt to shoot and he just ran all the way around to the other side. He's like looking at a perfect shot saw book, wasn't he? Yeah, yeah. But it was, I think he could have had a better night. He, you know, he's probably the one where you think there's definitely more in there for you. I think the easy shot would be Darwin, you know, and I understand why I actually went there because, yeah, there's definitely parts of his game that he has to get better at. If he wants to stay at the club, that's just the way it's going. But I can't knock his work great and his effort. And I'd love to know how much ground he covered tonight because I'd say he covered a savage amount. You know, it was, it was a tough night. But look, ultimately, it's a really good win, I think. We'll see now as the group stage evolves, because I was just looking, when Ashley was reading that comment there, I was looking at the results from the other games tonight. And you know, this group stage stuff is not as easy as what people like to make out. You know, feel like a good win against Bayern Munich tonight. Leal beat Real Madrid tonight. I was posted that game was tonight. I was hoping it'd be yesterday because that really fasted watch next. Yeah, I mean, yeah, Leal beat Real Madrid one now. Ben Fieker beat that letter, come at you at four now. Yeah, so exactly. You know, the expanded nature of this group stage, and the fact that everybody doesn't play everybody. So it was is the randomness of the fixtures that you got. It's going to throw up on results. So literally getting two out of two, I think so far, I just I looked at it. Yeah, but I was trying to find out how many how many sites I've got maximum wins. And it's seven. There's Dortmund, breast, Ben Fieker, Lea Vercus and ourselves, Aston Villa and Juventus are all on six points. Everyone else has had a hiccup along the way. Man City have had a hiccup, Inter Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, PSG, Atlético. Atlético are sat on three points and down towards the bottom ends. A C man's yet to pick up a point. RB Leibzig, who we've got, yet to pick up a point. So it's not all as easy as people like to think a group stage usually is. So take the wins and take the props to go with it, because they're not going to be easy to come across. Paul, do you guys think? I think that top eight is going to be harder than people think it's going to be to get into. Like I think it's going to require more points than we initially thought. Yeah, I'm thinking I'm still there if you get 15. I think 16, I think. Yeah, 15, 16, you get top eight. Yeah, 16 does it. 16 does it. That's five wins and a draw. Two losses, I think 16. You're looking at what we've not left to do in our remaining six games. We need three wins and a draw. I think it was important to get the game as the one singers as a kinder. It was really important to get these two games. Well, our fixture list was kind because our fixture list coming up is absolutely horrendous. Yeah, I read this, but also good thought. Really interesting. Yeah, great football, but like also really hard. Yeah, Paul Giovanni is asking there, how many teams qualified? The way it works, the top eight qualify as a right straight through to the knockouts in nine through until 24. I think it's going to a playoff. So, yeah, so the team who finished ninth will play the side who finishes 24th and 10th will play 23rd, 11th will play 22nd and so on and so on until you guess a last 16. And the bottom teams are dropped completely. They don't. Exactly. I like that. That's one thing I do like. I like that. That is when you're out, you know, none of this dropping downs get another chance. I quite like that. Yeah, at this rate, I think Pep Lenders is dropping out because he has not. Yeah, look, no, he's not a good starter. Salzburg are look, they are what they are. You know, they're not a major European parros. They will be very young. Very young. Yeah, they are. They're a feeder club for Leipzig. Let's call it what it is. That's what they are. That's what his job is going to be based on. Windy Austrian League, keep qualifying for the Champions League and progress players that are going to be sold. That's his job. You know, it's not to get to the knockout stages of Champions League. That's not going to be his job. Maybe. Maybe they're not dropping into Europa League. That's really clubs like Salzburg. That's where it probably does hurt them because maybe for them that is for their different level. But again, but I think the revenue that they get for being for these knockout games in the long run benefits their club as well. Yeah. Yeah. Excuse me. I'll do my three. Sorry. So I'll take the open goal. I'll go pick up the match, Gavin Birch, because it's just easy. I agree with Ashley's honourable mentions, which is the centre-back partnership. It was just really well, really well organized. And, you know, I think they're getting better at going through difficult spells and could do better. Set pieces, please, because they're shy. Oh, God, I read this. I do think that's an area we could improve on. And that is a thing that the slot what he was renowned for is doing quite well at set pieces. We just haven't quite got the deliveries right at the moment. But listen, it's like I said, it's early days. Are you worried about Saturday? Well, I'm not worried about Saturday because I'm not here. So if it doesn't go well, I don't have to deal with it. Kevin, actually, you can have fun. Yeah, I have to be here bright and early. The game's at 7.30 my time. So I'll be honest. Yeah, I'm sort of a side of football pitch off of my doors. I play football. So I'll just have to keep it on the score. So I'm actually I'm looking forward to hearing Gavin's stories when he comes back because he was at the game tonight. So I think he and his daughter got a really great night at Anfield. Yeah, yeah. Not Buffy first game is a chumply chump. No, she's actually she had a great time too. She beat him at a mini golf. So that's something to kind of come back on. I don't worry. Yeah, more important. I bet she's ripped him off a loads of merch from the end of the club. So yeah, well, they're headed back up to do the tour tomorrow. So yeah, whatever, whatever cash he thought he he had going in. Yeah, he hasn't the tools are good. I say, I need to actually have a look at the new museum. The new museum is also really good. My sister, sorry, my daughter, my youngest daughter went to Liverpool with her friend in September. Now my youngest, well, none of my kids are into sport at all. None of them. And my youngest can't stand it. But her friend that she went with is a massive Liverpool fan. So she thought, right, well, buck him the tour because he'll he'll love it. So they went on the tour. She had a ball. She had an absolutely great time. You know, and she she was fascinated by it. They're not just so much the stadium and everything, but she said the museum was really good. The museum was really interesting because she was sending me pictures. Who's this? What? When she come back, we just said, we just chat about all the pictures. She took loads of pictures. We just went through the pictures. Like, who was this? When was this? What was that like? And all that stuff. It was fantastic. I think he is. I think he is going with my daughter. So they had like when the original Liverpool shirts, the blue and white check one, which is the first shirt. And that blew her mind. That little didn't always play in red. Little things like that. It was it's really, it's really interesting. Anyway, so we've got, we've got sidetracked there. Paul Giovanni. So early predictions for the palace. I could make an argument for three changes. Maybe four, but three. I could see Costas. Tell me if you agree to say it. It was where Costas comes in for Robo because he does seem to quite never to. He does seem to rotate quite a bit. I would assume Jones will get a start. I think it's a debate about who comes in, who comes out. And I would assume Josh will come straight back in for Darwin. The only one is maybe his gap book. He was, I don't think he was, was he used to the last game? I don't think he came off the bench setting the last game. I don't remember. I don't remember. Yeah. It's, I mean, I can see the case for Gackpuss started for sure. And he deserves it. He's played well when he's come on. Match Apple also mentions all we could do Bradley and Gackpuss, which is. Bradley and Gackpuss, good show. Yeah. He came on, he did come on. He came on at 72 minutes. Oh, it did. Okay. Yeah. The thing is, I don't know what England's fixtures are like coming up. But I know what our fixtures are like when we come back. So I think, bear in mind, that Crystal Palace will have had a week to prepare for this and irrespective of their position, where they are in the league, they've got good players and... England plays a semi-cast. Yeah, England Greece. England Greece and England. Yeah. So I could definitely, I definitely think Trent will play a ball for those. But it's... I suppose the nice thing is, it's Thursday, Sunday, England games. Yeah. I just look at it. It's just, slot has to have this in the back of his head. Palace are a good side. The 1230 aspect of it, traveling down to London the day before. I wouldn't be surprised if Josh starts with sure. Wouldn't be surprised if Gapo comes in for Diaz. I think the midfield three, I think he'll like, he'll try to keep that the same as if possible. And yeah, I agree with you with casters. I think he probably would prefer to play Trent, bear in mind, as it will likely play on that side. But I really like that Palace manager. I think he's a really good coach. I think technically he's very good. So it's a tough game. It always is a Palace. I think we've got to generally have a good record there. So I just think you just want to go and get it done. Get this block of fixtures finished off in the right way and bounce into the international break. I don't really pass it a spin. So I'm sure we'll do a show before the Palace, someone will do a show before the Palace game and look into it in-depth. I've been making it off the reaction show. I'll probably be you because I know I have crazy work this week. Yeah, since it's just even. Yeah, I might do. You kept just really wide. You want me to eat it both? Yeah, because I got nothing better to do with my life. You're right. I don't know. I know you don't. So let's spare enough girls. It's 11 o'clock. So let's let people go to sleep. Anything you guys want to add before we go? No? Yeah, one comment quick. Sorry, actually, one second. No, I just wanted to know. People well in title today are coming to the chat. Brian Murphy, he comes into the chat. He's well in title to his opinion, all right? And I think we are, from my point of view, from my perspective, we're watching a different version of Liverpool. It's going to take time. It is a work in progress. Yeah, they're going to be tough nights. This was a tough night. No doubt. They tested us. Champions League. Yeah, it is exactly that. It's Champions League. You're not playing against folks. These guys, this is one of the things they said in the RT commentary that I thought was really, really good and really right. It came from the Italian manager who basically said, this is their biggest game in 60 years. The first time I've ever met Liverpool. Yeah, the idea that they were going to come to Anfield and roll over is for the birds. They're going to have a go. And I thought, in the main, we dealt with it really well. The problems that we created were our problems that we created for ourselves. But yeah, just take a step back and enjoy it for what it is. This is not the finished article. It's a start. It's a start. It's going to get better. No doubt in my mind is going to get better. We're seeing improvements all the time. We've seen it with Grappenberg especially. You get that kind of level of improvement from two or three others. My God, the world's your oyster. But at the minute, it's results keeping everyone fit and just move on to the next game and enjoy it for what it is. Yeah, but also- I think you made a good point there. I mean, and we're- I don't think any of us- I know it's occasionally- Do you see how some others- You never put it. But now, I think that we all kind of have to to pace ourselves and keep in mind that this is the beginning. This is the beginning of something. And I don't think any of us are putting our heads in the sand and saying that we don't see issues. Like, I think that's what maybe like some people think. They think that we're just like shouting from the rooftops that everything's fantastic. There are issues. There are things that we're going to grow and work on, and there are things that can definitely get better. But it's a process. And I think in terms of the beginning of a process, it's going a hell of a lot better than I thought it was going to go. Like, I was really worried about this transition. And in terms of- in terms of transitions, this is about as good as it could have gone. So, like, let's- let's just be happy with where the team is at and not- we don't have to beat them with a stick. Like, there are things that are going to improve. And that'll just take time. Yeah, I mean, curfew me at a conversation early on. So, if you looked at the opening fixtures in the league, up to where we are, we said, how many points would you like from that? And I said, I think I said to you realistically, probably 16 is when it is doable, but I'll be happy about that. We're on 15. You know, and that is literally- It's amazing. Yeah, literally, I expect there was the beat for us, but I thought we'd draw on the away games. That's literally what I thought would happen. I trust I thought it would be all trafficked away because it's always a bit of a funny fixture. So, and I still think, look, I think the silver begays will lose a game or two because it's still new and- It's football. Yeah, you can't win every game. Sometimes you will just have a forest game. You have to, you know, which, you know, we're seeing for other sides, you know, I'd rather have our issues than cities. Yeah, there is also that. I think everyone would rather that, to be honest. Yeah, yeah. But, you know, never mind. Right, on that happy ghost. Shall we go home? Kev, can you stop touching? Yes, otherwise- I'm not touching that. Well, we've got our lives again. I think left for me to read, thank you. Two hands on my coffee. I mean, coffee. Very good. Anyway, listen, like, subscribe, all that good stuff. Hit the bell icon so you can find it with our next shows out, because we'll bounce have a preview show for Palace, and then, Kev and Ashley will death be back on Saturday, where they hopefully go to talk about another little win. Till then, take care. See you. in the next video. [BLANK_AUDIO]
