2021 Chacra Barda Pinot Noir

>> Welcome back to Adventures of a Black Belt. So many a, I am really excited to tell you about a wine today that I discovered maybe a year ago. Well, it's been longer than that, I think. But anyway, I discovered this wine. It is absolutely superb. World-class peanut oil from a surprising place. It's called Chakra Barda. And in 2021, it's the most recent vintage I tasted. It's from Patagonia, which is a southern part. In this case, the southern part of Argentina. Patagonia is a high desert, so there's never been-- there's no disease there. And it's cool and bright sunshine. So it's really the perfect place, surprisingly, perfect place to grow peanut oil, because there's no disease. So the fine stone has to be re-planted. The climate is cool, which is good for peanut oil. And there's a lot of sunshine, I guess, a high altitude. So it really-- all these elements combined for really superb wine. Chakra is a winery enterprise owned by Sasakaya, a great Tuscan, super Tuscan producer, which is-- you've got to give it high marks for me. If the winemaking team at Sasakaya is making peanut oil and Patagonia, there's something special going on. It's also called Chakra, C-H-A-C-R-A is a Patagonian dialect word for a piece of land. But it's also a reference to C-H-A-K-R-A, the chakras, the Point Center in the body, because Mr. Finchesa Dela Rocheta from Sasakaya believes that wine is a connection between man and God. So he called his winery chakra as a reference to that. But this wine is extraordinary. It's something somewhat reminiscent of a burgundy phone-- I would say from Rolmane. It has that kind of sweet feminine softness underpinned by great morality and acidity. It has the black tea, kind of spice, beautiful, ripe red fruits, very subtle oak, and it's just superb. I don't think there's-- I've never tasted it better at $30 peanut oil. I don't think it is. I bought a lot of it when it was released. I bought a lot of it, because I'd love this wine so much. And I'm looking forward to watching it involve time in the bottle. I don't mean that it really tastes exactly like bone romanade, but I think it's reminiscent of a new world take on what bone romanade is, a very high quality bone romanade, and that does itself at $30. The 2021 is mature-ish now, but it's got 10 years to go. I opened a bottle tonight. I would open it four or five hours in advance into Canada now or in advance to have it show its best. It's worth looking for. It's not expensive. And I'm sure you, if you find a bottle or two or a case, which you should buy a case, you will be thrilled with this one, the 2021 Chakra Barda Pinot Noir. Thanks for tuning in to Adventures of Life, I'll see you again. .
