[Music] Good morning and welcome in to the Captain Jhood Morning Show on ESPN 1000 and streaming on ESPN Chicago app with Dion Miller. I'm Jhood, cap is off today. It's time now for a shot or no shot. Here's Tom Sellick, Tom. Oh, good morning, hoodie. Dion, how are we feeling? On a Thursday. It's good to see Tom here with his English D hat. Excuse me. Not for Dion, but for the Detroit Tigers. That D stood for something else but a long time for the Tigers, by the way. But not yesterday and not this season. As the Tigers defeat the Astros, fight the two and moving on in the playoffs. Congratulations, Shay. Thank you. For about 10 years that D stood for what was happening to us on the field against opponents. Oh, I'm sweating. Every time we took the field. [Laughter] So, yes. But how about that, though? Make any calls home? What's it like back home? What are they? I mean, because this is-- Bombs are high. It's a long time coming. It's a long time coming, Shay. You know, it's funny, hoodie, is-- White Sox have made the wild card in the AL West. That's that fun. Three of the final four teams out of this division. Maybe they were just dealing with a juggernaut. Say it with me! Say it proud for all the haters! [Laughter] I just want a Sox fan to know. And I know that you're with me. This sucks. This sucks. Guardians, Tigers, Royals, in the mix. Yeah. And the White Sox are not. And twins, you can sit right next to us, by the way, on the non-play-off teams. There's already pressure on the 35th and Vecteon, but when you have three teams in the division and you're not in it and you're the drags of society, the worst. Yeah. I hope you enjoy that. The worst ever. You can swallow that. How about that? And not even close. You finished 50-some games back or whatever, right? Yeah. Think about it. 50 games behind these teams. Choco, that baby. Yeah. So I'll enjoy it. Listen, when you play in a division like this, I'm confident now, at least, in saying if they played in the A.L. West, they wouldn't have set the record. Wow. I'll take on the Angels 25 times, 29 times. That would be fine. I just think it's great. I'm happy for Shay. No, I'm happy for this, right, too. And my family in Battle Creek in Kellogg, that are Tigers fans as well. I've got a lot of family that's Guardians fans. So they're all in. It's all in the division, though. I know. That's painful. Also painful to note, Darryl Van Schauen put out on Twitter last night, how many X-White Sox are actually in the postseason right now? Yes. Are we raining on shot or no shot here, Shay? Are we okay if I keep talking? Yeah, of course. All right. Well, I'll just keep going. No one's stopping me. These are the X-White Sox in the postseason right now. Carlos Rodan, Dylan Sees, Jose Quintana, Chris Sale, sort of. Aaron Bummer, we're all the Lopez, Michael Copac, Jose Ruiz, Tanner Banks, Ian Hamilton, Tommy Canley, right? Canley. At Tim Hill, James McCann, Tommy Fan, Fam, and Paul DeYoung. Yeah. Some of those guys aren't very good. Motley crew. But they are in the playoffs. They are in the playoffs. Take that, White Sox. Shay, what do you have for us on shot or no shot or no? It's a glorious day as the Tigers get the job done. And my San Diego Padres, they continue on as well. For the Friar Faithful. That's right. All right. When a trade pops up in the NFL or a trade request rather as it did this week with Devonta Adams, so do the rumors. And the formerly proud Sports Illustrated has thrown the Bears into the mix for Devonta Adams, saying the Bears have run zero, ten or one personnel plays this year. What that means is you'd have one running back and four wide receivers. And with a glut of receiver, if they added Adams, they'd have Adams, Allen, Moore and O'Dunze. It would allow them to go to four receiver sets more than any team in the league. I don't view this as anywhere close to a position of need, but shot or no shot. The Bears should be involved in Devonta Adams trade talk. That's a no shot. No shot. A trade. No shot. You went through. You got your receiver. Again, for some it's controversial that they even got Roma Dunze because now the revisions history have been an offensive lineman. But I still believe it was fine because you know that Ken Allen, I would say 90% of me believes that Ken Allen won't be here next year anyway. Roma Dunze will fill that slot. That's why Kenan's here for third down. And he's often injured, so that's why Roma Dunze is going to be filling the bill. So, unfortunately, the Bears are not in a position to get a wide receiver, so that's a no shot. Yeah, I agree. No shot. But I don't even think they'd be interested in pursuing in any capacity. And the Raiders have said it's going to cost at least a second round pick. Yeah, they wouldn't do that. No shot. Adams is really hurt with the hamstring. I think no shot. He's totally tied. Yeah. Come on. He was milking this injury to get himself back with Aaron Rodgers. Or Jordan Love. I think the Packers might be interested in Christian Watson's down again. Yes. Yes. And by the way, we saw that snowball running downhill. We knew he wasn't going to be a Raider for the long haul. It just wasn't going to happen. We saw this last year. You knew that. He was upset when Carr left. Like he didn't. That's the reason he wanted to go there, right? Yeah. So agreed. Shay Norley. All right, hoodie. Uncourt that sound you wanted to play now. DJ Moore yesterday talked about a surprising thing he noticed from Roma Dunze his speed. Is that what you wanted? No. DJ Moore on a Dunze. Okay. That should be rolling off the ball. They all seen him in one film. Like this past weekend, I think he took off on a road that was wide open. I was like, dang, he moving. I even seen him out the side of my eye. I was like, am I going slower? Is he just moving fast? But just his speed and confidence out there, just going out there playing free. So this also shows up on the stat sheet because Roma Dunze, believe it or not, currently ranks third among all wide receivers in separation created. He's been fantastic in route running and obviously the breakout game against Indianapolis. We'd like to see more of that from Roma Dunze, but Sean or no shot. Rome could be poised to take the wide receiver one role on this team. That is a shot. Absolutely. Sorry. You go first. No, we could say it together. Ready? One, two, three. That's a shot. Isn't that great? It's cool by y'all. We just love to get along. We do. Yes, we do. It is a shot. Why do you think it's a shot? The all? Well, first of all, separation created is something we keep track of. Yeah. I'm too tired. Okay. Anyway. Why are you tired of stats? Why does that make you tired? I just don't think that's what they get. How do you really measure that? I don't understand. It's like anything else. You take the stats that you want to use and the rest of them, if you don't need them, you don't need them. That feels like something we're just trying to use to fill between Sundays, but whatever. I digress. Because of valuable statistic tells you that tells you how good a wide receiver is breaking away from coverage on a route. Okay. Top three separation created against man coverage means he's owned in corners. I'm going to use. I'm going to find a way to use that in my story. I think you do. I'm going to put that on channel seven. That's toward the end of your wrap, by the way, and then see what the anchor said. I'm going to say it on a toss back. Yeah. Do you guys know? Yeah. 30 the league in separation created against man coverage against man coverage. Well, really interesting. We better get to the weather quickly because I have no ad lib. I don't know what's happening. Okay. So why I think that? First of all, we know what a Dune day's work ethic is. I think that, but also his talent, his speed, he's got everything to be a top wide receiver in the league. Everything. And it just has to come together. But also the fact that he and Caleb are on that same track. I feel like that will make him the top receiver on the team. Shay, when you have someone like Roma Dunes, a who we watched in college and the separation he was getting in college, ultimately, when you have that kind of talent, you think about him as the one at some point very soon. Anyway, DJ Moore has got a lot of miles on him. Doesn't mean he's old, doesn't mean he's washed. Not saying he's trash. I'm not saying that. But ultimately, Roma Dunes is going to be the number one wide receiver on this Chicago Bears team. And he and Caleb Williams will grow up together as Chicago Bears. That'll be that's going to be the one to punch at some at some point. Right now, DJ Moore is the number one receiver. It's not going to be that way forever. It's not. So yes, Roma Dunes at some point is going to be number one. And I know there are some people that say this should have been an offensive lineman instead, but you do need to have speed. Just think about the previous depth charts we've seen from the Bears Dion over the years, where it's just one guy. DJ Moore was by himself for a couple years here. So you know, so I have no problem with him at some point being number one. And I think he's going to be sooner than later. All right, yesterday, the Tigers eliminated the Houston Astros from the playoffs, ending a seven year streak of making the American League championship series. Yes. Astro star infielder, Alex Bregman, who is a pending free agent this off season, tweeted after the game, quote, thank you, Houston, in an apparent farewell to the Astros organization. Bregman's going to be 31. The 260 this season with 26 homers and 70 RBIs for the Astros shot or no shot. The Chicago Cubs should sign Alex Bregman this off season. That's a shot. That's a shot. He is a Boris guy and the Chicago Cubs, they can't just be middling and just saying we like our guys and we're just going to make a cursory move here or there. If nothing else, teams that spend a lot of money like the Chicago Cubs have to be on the sidelines, watching these playoffs, Dion saying, wait a minute, what's missing? You know, it's missing talent, stars, yeah, I already told Shay, do not put in the rundown of our shows over the winter of the winter of Cody Bellinger. Oh my gosh. I don't want to do that again. We're not doing that again. We went through that already last year of will Cody sign will he not sign will he be with the Cubs like like if we are once again, Shay, talking about Cody Bellinger being with the Cubs as if that's a difference maker, then I'll just leave. I'm not going to be. We're not going to be dealing with that this this winter into the spring because Cody Bellinger is at the difference between you getting the playoffs and not. You know, I know I lived in the Cubs this year. He's not the difference between you making the playoffs or not. It's not it's not stars do that stars make that difference. So Bergman on this on the Cubs team, I think that that would make a lot of sense. The only reason I would lean more towards no shot is because Jed was so he was so I don't know focused on talking about youth and our young players and and and Bergman at 30 years old. I don't know that that's the direction he would go. I don't know. I don't that's that's what leads me to thinking it's no shot. Okay, then the bruise will just kick your ass again. You want that? We're gonna feisty Craig Council again. I just know that Craig Council did not sign up here in a bigger market, make it more money to be out of the club. He's looking on the other side of that saying that's my team, right? That's my team. Look at my team. My team is on the precipice. We were 10 games behind them. It wasn't close. There's a reason why there was a lot of firings over there also have I don't feel like the cubs have that alpha guy who is a voice in that clubhouse nope they can stand up and say let's get it together and I don't think they have that. You had to develop that with Rizzo and Bryant and Lester and guys like that. But Rizzo was that guy Lester was that guy. Yeah, you had to develop that that's not on this ball club. No, it isn't. Is Bergman that kind of guy? I think he's gonna have to be he's gonna have to be just think about that Shay how much money that the Cubs have spent and I know that cap has gone through this chapter inverse. But just the point is is that how much money have you spent and what have you spent it on? Non playoff team to over 230 million dollars to be on the sidelines nonsense and if they don't spend more money and get more talent over there difference making talent. I know that my partner is always talking about the bullpen. If they only had say does hitting matter at all in baseball does offense ever matter? I'm watching the playoffs. offense matters like you could tell me about the bullpen all you want about the who's gonna close the night. But if you can't hit the baseball, you'll never see the closer and that exactly closer to me is just the most overrated thing in playoff baseball because you have to get to him. And if you don't get to him, then he doesn't matter over the course of 162 games closing games is important. But in the playoffs, doesn't really matter. You got to be able to get a lead and get to that guy long saves are blown saves. But by the way, the with those blown save does that necessarily mean you would have won those ballgames. So I do this offense, so that's it's what it's what cap hangs his head on. And that's fine. At some point, he's going to be on Shay side and my side that stars help a lot, a lot, a lot. We go around the NFL coming up and don't forget it's the deal Breakers Thursday deal Breakers at 835 cap and Jay Hood with Dionne in for cap on Chicago's home for sports. When he starts to come and cool, this is a really thickly built guy. I mean, what's the answer you're looking for on these things here. I do. I just don't usually have to be on this early. Whoa. I know. I know. I know. I know. It's a deal. You're always on. You're right. Yes. Because you're a mess. This is true. Here's Shay Norlick. Shay. All right, let's get started around the NFL. Are you in here? It is Thursday. So this is the day where I tell you what I need to see from certain teams on Sunday. Okay. They're believing in them again. All right. I'm going to start locally with the Chicago Bears. I need you to go out class and inferior team. The Panthers are beyond banged up. Their best defensive players, their most talented defensive players, they aren't going to play in this game because of injury. Their offense has looked better since changing quarterbacks, but I would say this is a significant step up in class for Carolina's offense going against the Bears defense instead of the Raiders or the Bengals. I need to see the Bears win this game comfortably and convincingly in what I think should be a coming out party for Caleb Williams against the team that traded the pick he was to us. Yes. More than the four points that they, they're favored and getting off to a quick start to the staff that start in the first quarter and the set like what are we going? You heard the Boo Birds early in the game of Soldier Field. You did. I'm not going to. You know what I'd like for the key drive and what you saw, I think I'll run from Caleb definitely running the football a few passes just to get comfortable and keep the line moving offensively. I'd like to see that in the first quarter. I would agree with you. This is a perfect opportunity to do that. Those 15 scripted plays or whatever they have like attack that attack that in a way that builds that confidence for Caleb and then that gives them momentum to keep going. I agree with you. That's something we have not seen in a minute. Not just this season, like in a minute. Shane, the being unsure as offense, like should, are we shouldn't we do this? So we go long. Just, just do it. Just get comfortable in the offense and then move forward. What messing around? Stop top corner. You have a deep enough, you have a long, big enough lead. You could take some shots down the field if you want to, but to me it's got to be colored by the numbers, move the offense and then see what you could do after that in the fourth quarter. What I was telling us yesterday, let all of your receivers run all of the routes enough with clear out DJ Moore, like let DJ Moore is an excellent route runner. Let him run the full tree. I don't get why he's just being asked to exclusively run goes. Makes no sense. What else do you need to see here for this week? The New York Jets. Okay. All right. The Jets. All right. So far this season it has been about the coaching staff. Nathaniel Hackett questions about him as an offensive coordinator. Wait for it again because they could only score nine points against the Denver Broncos. Questions about Nathaniel Hackett questions about Robert Sala. You get penalized 14 times against Denver at home. Your offensive line, pre snap penalties galore, the cadence for Aaron Rodgers. You play the Vikings early Sunday morning in London. If there's any quarterback in football that I want diagnosing a Brian Flores blitz before the snap, I think it's Aaron Rodgers. I need to see Rodgers turn the clock back, diagnose the Flores defense and eat against the Vikings in London. If I'm going to believe that this team's a playoff team, I need to see it this week. Let's keep our eyes on the Jets offensive line too. Because Aaron likes to be able to have enough time to be able to roll on the pocket. You don't want to move in the pocket. Even at his age, he still can run left and run right. Let's see if he can connect, but that offensive line will be very key for the elder statesman Rodgers at the quarterback position. But you went, I think the chase correct because we've seen that Vikings, they're going to dial up a blitz early and often against that old timer. Yeah, Vikings have looked very much like a complete team right now, but agreed, agreed. That game against the Broncos was atrocious for the Jets. They have to bounce back in a very big way, but they're not, they're not leaving for London until later on tonight, which I don't know. Is that the best way to go? It tastes Thursday. I know. Is that a good move or a bad move? I don't know. We shall see. Both teams are going to have to deal with the time change. I think that becomes a moot point. I think the Jets can win this game. And if they want, again, if they want me to believe that they're a playoff team, they got to win this one. You got to show me that Rodgers can still figure it out. Shay, you know they're going to drop it, right? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Totally. The Jets are going to drop it. Yes, they are. Even though, in front of me, it's two and a half. I agree. But I just think that this whole thing is a disaster, right? How do you know? Solid will be fired at the end of the season. I just think, just not a very good communicator, Shay. That's the whole thing. You'll be bad. But if you're not on the same page with a Hall of Fame quarterback, it just, it tells you all you need to know. Yeah. But his defense is solid. Yeah. Sounds familiar. Then they're going to trade for Davante Adams. Go ahead. Let Joe Douglas, the GM you're going to fire at the end of the year, decide what you do with your second round pick next season. Go ahead. Oh, my gosh. But solid defense solid. We know that story. We've seen that before. I think we're watching it together. We are. Pass popcorn. Sounds good. I think I think we're watching it right now. Shay, what else do we need to see here? The Cincinnati Bengals 0 and 3 start stinks. And so does this Bengals defense, but Joe Barrow has quietly been playing some extremely high level football since the loss to New England and the opener. He's completing 71% of his passes for seven touchdowns, just one interception. If the Bengals can beat the Ravens at home, big win over a divisional opponent and get to two and three, will there be anybody left doubting that they can turn this season around and get to the playoffs? This could totally change the story on their season. I don't, I'm not sure. I'm ready there. I'm not sure. Because I don't know who the Bengals are. I know what they are now. But after the Ravens game, I think they will tell a great story. Giants, Browns, Eagles, the next three and if they can get past the Ravens, Dion, then I think that that is, I think that's true. I think that the Bengals will get on a rhythm, be a Giants team that's not great, Browns are just awful and then the Eagles. So I think this is probably the game that's circled for their season. And I'm not sure if they can match with the test against the Ravens. I don't know that they can either. I thought when they lost to the Patriots, I thought, this is going to be like the Bears when they beat the 49ers to start the season that we were all like, hey, remember how crazy that was that happened? That's what I thought was going to happen because the Bengals have Joe Burrow and they have all this stuff. But at this moment, I've not seen that they can truly turn it all the way around. You agree though that between these two teams, the Bengals are more the crossroads in the Ravens. Oh, I understand. Yes, they seem to have figured out their ground game looks like the best in football. 260 yards on the ground last week. Yeah. And the Bengals defense just looks terrible offensively. I don't think they have issues defensively. I think they have a lot of issues. They got to figure that side of it out. Yeah. If you go and win against Baltimore this week at home, you have the first win in the series in hand. You're moving to a tie in the division with Baltimore. Pittsburgh, I don't know that anybody believes it's just going to run away with this. It would change the story for the Bengals season if they can get a win on Sunday. I would agree with you on that. I just don't know if it's going to happen. We'll see. This NFL, this is why it's interesting. One thing I will not do, Shay, when it comes to the Ravens, I will not be like the TVs up here over our shoulders saying that this is the best team in football. I'm not doing that yet. I still want to see more. The Chiefs lost, tough loss at the end. The Raiders was a clunker. They should have been able to win that game. In the Cowboys, what's the value of being the Cowboys? Even though it was at Dallas, I mean, who are, who's Dallas really? They might not be good this year. Offensively, Dallas looks terrible. Defensively, they're very susceptible to the run. Now the Bills win. That was it. That's how the win. That was a great win. Great win. That was a dominant win. So, I mean, I won't go as far as like my friend Dominic Foxworth and others that say, well, this is the best team in the NFL. Okay. Let's take a look now. I think that Shay, you pinpointed it. Raven's bingles tells a great story on both sides. All right. Can you squeeze in one more please? Do you want the Bills or the Chiefs? I'll let you choose. The Chiefs make you angry, so I want to hear about the Chiefs. Four knows four and oh, but it don't really feel like it with how anemic this offense has looked for Kansas City. They are back at Arrowhead on Monday night against the New Orleans Saints. Chiefs last few seasons always start slow. We always kind of question. Are they who they've been? And they answer that question in February, inevitably, when they win the Super Bowl. I'd like to see it a little earlier this year. Monday night prime time at home against New Orleans. You got to show me that this offense can move the football. Patrick Moms is not playing good football this year. Six touchdowns, five interceptions, passer ratings, south of 90. I need to see this offense start to look good, which is going to be tough because they lost for she rice. I know. I'll never make that up. I'll never bet against them again. Never. No, never. It's a pack of my homes, they'll they'll figure it out. I think Moms always has confidence that they will, but adjusting to different personnel and moving things around. I don't know. Have we been there before the Chiefs? Yeah, I guess. I'll never bet against them again. And Shay laid out all the points that are correct that you need to be able to be more of a potent offense, but Moms finds a way. He just does the Saints game. They will roll against the Saints. The 49ers. What are they now really without McCaffrey look good against New England, but who won't? We would look at against New England. We would look at the show. Let's hope so. Let's go. Let's beat New England. They want that number one pixel and the Raiders in the Buccaneers after that. I think they're going to be okay. They'll turn on when he had to turn it on. That's the old Golden State Warriors theory, Shay Norling. It listened last year. I told you, Kelsey in the regular season last year didn't look good. And then the playoffs is like the best player alive again. Yeah. Yeah. This is your same thing. Like, my homes doesn't look great. Kelsey doesn't look great. And I'm sure once they get to playing football in January, which they will, both of them will look amazing because that's just what this team does. Oh. How much of that is Andy Reed? He's such a good coach. Yeah. A lot of it's coaching, right? I mean, they have talent, but. How about Maggie? Hello. Hello. Hey, you know, let's do something that's going to go to Bristol. You and I, just real quick, ready? Let's do this. Lower the music, Jaymore. Here we go. I want to make sure that they steal this on one of the talk shows up there. Or maybe this goes out fast one. Who knows? Okay, you ready for the Kansas City Chiefs, the regular season, doesn't matter. They've turned into an NBA team. They turn on when they got to turn on the playoffs. And so when we just laid out, missing rice, Travis Kelsey, not as good as he once was, they just find a way to win and muddle through the regular season because when the playoffs start, Patrick Mahomes will lead them just like an NBA team. Well, I have no disagreement in a noise made to no end. That they can look the way they look in the regular season and I just know it's an inevitability. I will be watching them on that second Sunday in February, whatever it is. Wow. I just want you to watch your favorite TV show and see if that's on the lower third, some place. Because Kansas City care about the regular season. Oh, it won't. Inevitably, that will happen. Why should they? Well, honestly, why should they? When you know what you can do when it matters the most, your correction, why should they? The Tom Brady Patriots gave a rip about September football when they were cooking? No. No. No. So there's, there's, I don't give hot takes, Shay, but there's one right there. That'll be on the, in the facility this morning, the one of the show is on the best one. They look like they don't even want to play football in September. Like it's just horrible watching them. Right. And then they'll take off. All right. We have got deal breakers. What's annoying is there's still four and oh, that's the part that frustrates me because they look so bad. Yeah, that's annoying. And they're four and oh anyway. Yes. Find a way to find a way to win. It's great. All right. All right. We will have deal breakers next. We're going to gross right here on Chicago's home for sports, follow Chicago's home for sports on Twitter at ESPN 1000 cap and J hood are back on ESPN Chicago Chicago, Chicago's home for sports. We all have to make choices in sports and in life. It could be running on third down. You ran the same third down situation and you ran the same plate twice. You're getting paid for that. I cannot believe the call for managing finances, this country, you've got to make them money for or it could be a deal breaker. Time for deal breakers here on the cap and jay good morning show on ESPN 1000 and streaming on the ESPN Chicago app with Dion Miller in for cap on Jay hood. Ah, yes. Deal breakers. It's going to break. Dion Miller at some point between now and now it's going to be great. It's going to be great. All right, Jay. What do we have? Now we start with the news story headline. I'm marrying my high school gym teacher. She was all my friends teenage crush. This guy after a graduating high school returned to coach cricket, obviously in the UK at his former school and reconnected when he was in his 20s and his former gym teacher was in her 40s. They went out, met at a bar, had a date turned into obviously very romantic. They moved in together. Now they're getting married. He says all his friends still call her miss. Oh, my God, you date or marry your former teacher is she hot? She's attractive. So attractive. So like seven. You said attractive. So like seven, eight. Yeah, sure. Okay. I mean, he said it. Listen, she was the hot teacher. He said all his friends had a crush on her in high school. Teacher was the hot teacher. Hot teacher. Rare, but I know that's what I'm saying, maybe she was a former tennis pro or marathon or maybe, but the hottest teacher in the school, she was a hot teacher. We could you marry your or go out with or have relations with your old teacher, that's uh, yes, I don't love that all the friends still call her miss whatever her name is. Well, I mean, it's respectful, I guess. Hi, Mrs. Thomas. You're with my friends. Right. What is going on? The age difference gets me to like, you know, he was 25 and I think she was 41. Not bad. Not bad. Right. That's pretty bad. Is it? That's all. I like that's a major life experience differences right there. I mean, like living different worlds. It's not a huge gulf between the two years. Not horrible. Not horrible. I don't love it. What about Belichick and his girlfriend? Okay. Well, that's. At all. Have you got a choice, though? That's not bad. Yes. I guess I date my teacher before I'm dating someone who's 50 years older than me. Not a deal breaker, especially as you gave the ages. I don't think that's so bad. I think it's funny that his friends call her Missy. I don't think it's funny. That's weird. We're not to step in like, oh, Missy, I love you and Miss Thomas together. No. No, no, no. Let's call her by her name. My first name, she's with us now. But she was the teacher, so weird to call her Sally, so weird. I'm a sure friend. So disrespectful, you know, but the friends are mature. I'm not. I'm choosing. No, I'm not dating my teacher. No. What if he was hot? I don't like it. No, I can't get past the like, if they can't get past calling her Miss, then I can't get past that like, this was someone who was an authority, I guess. Did you not have a handsome teacher when you're in school? Not that I remember. They're all old and gray. I'm trying to, yes, actually. None of them was handsomely rugged. John O'Hurlee. No, he had won, won, that was, but I don't remember. And he was married. I think he came in married. I don't know. Was he hot? Did you have a crush on him? I think we all did. Would you have dated them after you graduated? No. No, he was quirky, but whatever. D.I., you called him quirky. Thanks. I mean, I did, yeah. Anyway. So it's a deal breaker for you. Yeah, it's a deal breaker for you. It's not a deal breaker for me, sir. I think it's, I think it's just fine. Belichick is a deal breaker. Guys, you can call her Sally. You don't have to call. Yeah, but she was Miss Thomas's school, man. It just depends on the type of teachers you had coming up. I feel like I couldn't do it. No, I couldn't. What? You played such a role in the formative years of my life as an authority figure. I don't think I could adjust beyond. Did you like the authority she was giving you? All right. Oh, stop. Move along. Did you like it, Shane? Did you like when she yelled at you? Yeah, I would. She keeps the panel on the wall in the bedroom. I had to like that. Authority. Yes. Good evening. Here's Shane Norlin. Another news story, kind of a bizarre one. I'm going to paint the picture for you. Imagine you are on deployment and you get a call from your partner that your family dog has to be put down. Very sad. It breaks your heart that you can't be there for it. You get home. The house just feels empty. Five years later, a dog rescue calls to tell you they've picked up a dog with a microchip registered in your name. You go to see the dog, turns out it's the same dog. Your partner gave the dog away while you were on deployment and lied to you about it. Would you have to leave them? Wow. This is a true story. Oh, my gosh. Someone's got some splainer today. How do you know that? That's rough, folks. You understand that if you have a dog and you don't want it anymore, it's OK. Put the microchip on the dog. Someone could be in deployment, come back and find out the dog's not dead. It's alive, but your partner didn't want the dog. We ask you to click the QR code in the bottom of the screen to give to these situations. Please give 1-800 numbers on the bottom of the screen as well. Thank you. That is real instant divorce papers, right? Like you're drawing a paper immediately. We would have to go to counseling. That would be bad. Dion, it's a family member. The dog is a family member. Oh, it is absolutely a family member. So what you did is you gave away a child or a family member while I was away. If you were an anti-dog, you should have said that from the jump. Why would you give our dog away? Didn't want to take care of it while you were going. Oh, then have that conversation. What are we doing in our marriage that we're not talking about this? A lot of these deal breakers is lack of communication. And so there it is right there. The microchip, though, that comes in the clutch, though, right there, Shay. It's on the dog collar, right? The microchip? Five years later. Right in the collar of the dog. In the collar of the dog? Yeah. Five years later. That's outrageous. Five years. I wonder because you'd obviously be so happy to have the animal back in your life. It would be like a wave of relief. But I would immediately be leaving my barter. Like that's it. We're done. Oh, my God. If I divorced, but we would definitely have a dog because it's not just that you lie. You stole five years of time from me with that dog. You're done. Oh, my God. Is that you, Benji? Oh, my God. Benji. And the dog remembers this individual left me for five years. Oh, the dogs try to talk back to you. Why the husband wouldn't have said, hey, this is getting really challenging. Benji. That's you. Oh, my God. I thought you were dead. That is wild. Did mom give you away? That's the truth. Where did that happen? Did mom give you away? I want to make sure I'm accurate. I will pull up the story before I tell you where it happened. I thought you said our dog was dead. Well, I'm an I'm an I'm an I'm an I'm an I'm an I'm an I'm an I'm an I'm an I'm an I'm Right. What's he going to say? How did he explain himself in that moment? Huh? That's a tough one. No doubt. Benji, it looks like you. For you. Who's Texas, Dan? Wow. That sounds right. Yeah. Go ahead. Calls from there. Why did he give it to like a neighbor or something? Like, wow, how did the dog find the way back dog was 60 miles south of Fort Hood in a different town. Wow. That's unbelievable. That is unbelievable. Yeah. Just think about it. Not a deal breaker, but definitely a conversation because now I want to know what else you're hiding. Well, yes. Yes. Now I'm questioning a lot of things is like I said, we'd need a third party. And then what? Counseling. I don't know. I don't know. We'd have to work through a lot of things. I'm just thinking about that in your scenario, how you'd handle that. If that was you. I mean, a dog for five years, you've been aware you come back and like Benji's still alive. It's boomer. It's the name of our dog. That's the name of your dog. It's boomer. I've heard your dog also is in the sports. Did you know that? Yeah. Yes. Absolutely. I think it gets each other in the Super Bowl for the first time fittingly. That boomer. February 12th. Jay Blake is birthday. Here we go. With the highlights. It's boomer. Well done, boomer. Yeah. Good job, boomer. Can I identify two black quarterbacks? Good job. Yeah. Well done. It's just coming up for deal breakers on the cap and Jay Hood morning show that I was getting off. Cap and Jay Hood are back and you know this man Chicago's home for sports ESPN Chicago deal breakers. Here's Jay Norley. All right. You go on a date with a new person who tells you upfront they suffer from severe food allergies and a rare condition that causes their body to misidentify cells as allergens. What this means is if you give them a kiss, their body could react negatively and send them into anaphylactic shock or potentially be lethal. For this reason, they lay out rules you must follow before kissing them. You cannot have eaten anything they are allergic to in the last 24 hours. You cannot have eaten anything at all in the last three hours and you must brush your teeth before every kiss. Could you continue to date this person? Oh, I'm too tired. Oh, God. I don't think so. I'd be out at the list of things that I can't eat and I can't do this and I can't do that. I mean... What if he's hot? That's great. I don't have that's too much work. I don't have enough energy for that. There's so much you got to go through just to have some passion. Yeah. Just for a kiss. Just for a pack. I mean, you're like scheduling it. I don't like that. Hold on. I'm on my way to work. I talked to you. Okay. Hold on. I haven't eaten in three hours. Pushed my teeth. What have you eaten lately? You got to go back and forth before you can even just give a kiss? A checklist of stuff? Oh, my gosh. Right? Oh, God. That is too much. That's not happening. That's a deal breaker. Yeah. We're not even getting past the first date. No. I'd literally be like, and for those reasons, I'm out. The whole thing with me now is if you brush your teeth, we can kiss, but if not, if I've had fish and you haven't had fish, we got to make sure if you had the fish, we didn't have the fish. All is back and forth. No. No. Heck, no. This is another true story, by the way, woman posted on social media, she said rule number one, they can't have any of my six main anaphylactic allergens, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, kiwi, mustard, or seafood within 24 hours of kissing. 24 hours. Yeah. Oh, my. I feel bad for her. She could die. So you can't take that girl. So you know what this means, right? So, so no sharks and no Papa knows Papa those. You can't have any fish. Mmm. So that's messed up. No J&J. So no fish. That's what, that's what just, they just told us. No fish. No seafood. So no peanut butter, like, uh, yeah, you said peanut. So that means no peanut butter too, right? Jay. Yeah. No, I mean, I, like, as soon as, as soon as I was handed a list of things I can't eat 24 hours before I might kiss someone, I'd be like, I, no, that's just ridiculous. Yeah. This is not a relationship for me. All right. Shay, what's the next one on deal breakers? Another true story hoodie. You start dating a person with an identical twin and a strange plan in life. They tell you that they want to find a partner. They can share and live together with as a throttle or a three person couple. Effectively, you will be dating both identical twins at the same time and they are into it. They understand the situation. This is something they want. Are you in or are you out? We're dating not getting married, right? You do whatever you want. You love them both very much. You proposed both. You're married both. But they will be a package deal. They'll twins have twins having, of course, twins have a weird bond. But no, I don't know. I wouldn't do that. Why not? Yeah. I wouldn't do that. Gosh, this segment never ends. Gosh. Just isn't it time to go to break anything? No, it's not. We want you to answer the question. I did. I said it's a deal breaker. I'm not doing that. Because? Because I don't need that. You are breaking down the weird twin energy. Yeah. Well, twins? Twinnergy. Twinnergy. It freaks me out a little bit. A little bit. Like they're all. DeVito and Schwarzenegger? What about that? They were twins. No. I would be out on there. What about Minnesota? I know. I'm not in on the Minnesota twins. They have a weird energy as well. They do. They do. You get a whole team with Minnesota twins. How about that? It's kind of funny. If you did date, if you did date, if you did date, if you did date. I know. I know. I know. I don't want it. I don't want it. Just two. I want like a whole four-man roster. You say you just read them to you in that 40. I don't want the two. I'll take the 40-man roster. Oh. Okay. Wow. Now you start dating in the identical twins. You nickname them Minneapolis and St. Paul. The answer is all four to 40-man roster. How about that? No, I'm not. It was just making a joke. Oh. Gosh, again. I hate this segment so much. Why? You always jump to work on Thursdays. I think you actually enjoy it. It's like a subconscious thing. Maybe I'm trying to just... It's because it's me and you don't know what day it is. You just like working with me. You don't know what comes with it though. It's like, oh, put it yes. I'm in. And then zero time for break. Dion is right there for you folks. It's not a deal breaker. He likes the full roster. It is a deal breaker. Oh, breaker. I said it was. Oh, that's right. That's right. Well, twins aren't in the playoffs. I'm not dating them. I understand. They're gonna land up at your house. Stop it. Come on. Come on in. Come on in. Oh my gosh. It's not a deal breaker for me, Shay. It is not. That would be amazing. Twins. Are you kidding me? And you know how much I hate the twins. But not those twins. Oh my gosh. Oh, doctor. I just think that'd be great. All right. And that's deal breakers. You okay now? It's just three. It's just three candles you got to light at the church. That's all. Tom Thayer will join us as we get ready for the Bears and our match up against Carolina. Oh my gosh. I mean, it's huge. Tom Thayer in two minutes. Never coming back. I'm Chad Bajayla.
