Hello everyone. Welcome into Gwen and Chris, Tony Gwen Jr. Chris Elo, Matt Scravey. Not a lot going on. Just kidding. Padres, we'll head up to Los Angeles tonight for the big real deal matchup. I believe it's probably the best matchup in this postseason. Probably most anticipated matchup in this postseason. Padres Dodgers begins Saturday. They'll have another one Sunday, off day Monday home here in San Diego for Tuesday's game. Hopefully, you know, Padres will be on their way to a sweep at that point. That remains to be seen. But last night, San Diego represented very well. That place was bonkers. And we have transitioned, I think, from regular season mode, where it's a social event, everybody's there having a good time, but kind of sort of watching the game. I'm talking about everybody to playoff mode where everybody's dialed in from the very beginning. Now, I did send some nervous energy in building a little bit last night. But since me, I always, I can feel you from long range distance. I look at Tony during bad plays. I'm like, what is he thinking over there? Scravey gave up the season when they fell behind one nothing in the first inning. That is not true. I wouldn't be surprised. Yeah. I didn't feel the nervousness there. Certainly felt the gut punch when Joe Musgrove had to walk off the mound. I think from that point on the energy definitely changed. Now it would eventually get back to the levels that it was to begin the game, but obviously Joe Musgrove going down. Everyone's concerned for it. No word on that yet. I know he's going through some testing today. We'll eventually find out. We'll get to that later, but the Padres get the job done. And it's so fun to watch this team do their thing, Chris. I mean, in the first game, they did it via the long ball two runs shot from Tati. Piggy hits a homer. And you know, from there, the Padres really much just rolled in game one and game two. Piggy hits the homer to tie it and then five more consecutive hits for the Padres. And we've also seen them win a bunch of games that way. And so you got a little bit of everything. Now a team that's desperate usually doesn't pack it in. And certainly a team of the Braves caliber wasn't. And Michael Harris, who had had an abysmal playoff numbers prior to this series was pretty much the Atlanta Braves offense all by himself. Yeah, a few things, Tony. I mean, first of all, it was awesome last night. You're absolutely right. I mean, no place should rather be than Petco Park watching what happened. And I thank you for that detailed opening, because if anybody had seen me on the YouTube camera, you would have seen that I couldn't get my headphones on tango. It started to buy you some time. You bought me a little time because I couldn't get my headphones untangled. And now you've dropped your, your camera got dropped. I did drop it. It fell off. Anyway, we're having a great start to the great start to the proceedings today. But yeah, it was awesome last night. And I mean, I had so much fun. And I I can't wait for next week. I hope there's only one game I know. I know a lot of people are saying, well, let's just get a split in Los Angeles. I'm not saying that. And if you get the first game, you better get the second game. I mean, why, why, why, why when the first game and then roll over, you know, so hopefully they can get them both. I'd love to see them come back here, you know, next Tuesday, looking to, as you said, Tony, finish it off. But we shouldn't be surprised with how the Padres did what they did. They led, remember, they led Major League Baseball this year in innings where they scored five or more runs. They were the, they did it more than anybody else. And you know, there you are, you get to the playoff and there you get a five run inning. And, you know, that was enough to win the ball game. I mean, how many teams do you know that load the bases with nobody out and don't score. And then the next inning have two outs and nobody on and score five. I mean, it was incredible, but not surprising because we've seen it all year stuff like this has been one of their superpowers all year long, making the two out magic that they have been able to put. That's the hardest way to score runs in Major League Baseball's with two outs and they do it, I think, better than anybody. A couple things that I popped up to me that were on display. The whole lefty situation and the Padres really through the last 24 games were really good against lefties. But the first 22 as my man, Chris Ello, kept good track of. They struggled immensely. Ironically, the one of the only lefties they hit well early was Max Freed. And the second thing that was on display was the fact that this is a top tier starter and the Padres went to work on them. Yeah, I don't think they have to be, you know, scared of anybody moving forward. You know, I don't think the Dodgers and we're going to talk tons about the Dodgers. We got 48 hours before that series starts. But Jack Flaherty, Yamamoto are going to pick the first two games. Could they shut you down? Sure. They're good. They're big league pitchers, Flaherty's an all start type guy and has been in the past. But I don't think the Padres have to, you know, be concerned, you know, if they go out and do their thing, I think they can score runs against anybody. The biggest play of the game last night, as it turned out, and I don't think it got a lot of attention. But in my mind, Fernando's line drive in the first inning off the hip of Max Freed, right cheek, right cheek or left cheek. Yeah. And I told Scott Miller was sitting next to me and, you know, Freed, they came out in the trainer and everybody looked at him and I told Scott Miller and I'm the no doctor, but we've all been hit by a line drive. You know, if we played enough baseball, he, I said he may get through this inning, but the next inning after he's gone and sat down for about 10 minutes. And now you try to get back up and go out on the mound in the second inning. And as it turned out, I mean, Brian Snicker basically said that Freed was hurt and left that game because he was injured and Padres took full advantage. Manny Machado. I'm getting angry already because I know they're going to announce the gold glove voting at the end of the year and somehow they're going to keep it from getting it. But if they can't give him that, can we give him some love? He was one for 17 against Freed in his career. He struck out the first time with the bases loaded and nobody out. I can't imagine any at batmore frustrating. And then he gets the big old knock there into the corner and Jackson Merrill once again, Tony. And you know, right now you feel like you don't know who it's going to be. It's going to be somebody. It's somebody every night. The funny thing, you know, I got down to the locker room. So I didn't see the last out. And, and so they're sorry, the second to last. Whatever one that was hit to Merrill, first out, first out, I didn't say the first out. Right. Right. Yeah. And so it's funny. The first question or one of the questions I asked him was about his improved defense over the last month. And he said, did you see that playing the night? No, but he started talking about the play and I'm the whole time I'm holding the mic to him like, what the hell is he talking about? I didn't he scared the daylights out of all of us. Let me tell you something. So, you know, after we get done, after the whole the festivities in, I went back upstairs and add or excuse me, Jesse asked me if I saw the play, because me and him, I've been talking to him. I was like, over the last month, man, he his route running, his his first step all have started to look a lot better. And so we had already been a conversation. So he asked me that I see it. I was like, oh, that's what he was talking about the whole time. I was like, I don't remember you doing that at all. But nonetheless, Jackson is just phenomenal, man. I mean, everybody is on this. That's what makes this team so fun to watch. Yeah. Kyle Huggash, yoga, as my man, Dylan sees called him yesterday, the best nine hole hitter in all of baseball, I would say, I said, at this point, it could be him. It could be Solano who hit in front. It could be Croninworth. It could be any of the first six guys in the lineup as well. And I'm just, that's the type of length that you're used to seeing on the other side with the Dodgers as you're going into this series. It's almost as though. And listen, at the end of the day, Patrick's gonna have to prove it again in this series, but it's almost like they have switched spots in terms of what this team looks like, how they go about it. Remember, Dodgers used, we're used to drag, drag pictures into the deep end and drown them all the time. Now that's like the Padres calling card. You're talking about taking a lot of pitches and getting the pitch count up. Yes, it wears these pitchers down. And so, you know, this is where depth will come in the play. Who's going to be able to execute better? Padres in the in 22, they lost game one and then proceeded to win the next three. And so, you know, as Chris said, you get game one, you certainly want to try to go in there and take game two. Then you get two cracks at home to finish the job. So, this is going to be a fun series. As Manny said, this is a series that everybody, even if they didn't say it out loud, had it in the back of their mind, maybe in some way you thought it might end being an NLCS. It's not. It's an NLDS. Nonetheless, it's going to be a terrific series. You know, if you'd have told me at the start of the season, and scraping, I looked this up before the show, Tony, that the Padres would have to beat the Braves and the Dodgers in a playoff series just to get to the championship. We would have said, that doesn't sound too fun. Because if you go back to the beginning of the season, the two teams that were clearly rated above all others in Major League Baseball, you look at all the preseason odds, all of the preseason stuff, the two major powerhouses coming into the season were the Braves and the Dodgers. And that's who the Padres are, you know, trying to beat. Now, the Braves were a bit of a shell of themselves. I'm glad you said what you said about them because there was no way they were going to roll over last night. And anybody who thought that they were have not been paying attention. It's a championship team. They've won their division seven years in a row. This year, they didn't win it because of all the injuries. But I told it's gravy. They're not going to step aside for the Padres coronation now. And they didn't, man. They played it all 27 outs was what I expected from them. And I think the Padres give them credit because I think that's exactly what they expected when the Braves got right back in the game. You know, Jason, they had a meeting on the mound. I thought that was really interesting, Tony. Maybe you can touch on it a little bit. Harris hit the home run to make it five four and there's no outs in the eighth inning. So you still need six outs to win the game. And before the next batter came up, every infielder and head gosh, Yoko all went to the mound. They were looking came out there too. I don't think Ruben came out. I have to go back and look at it. I thought Ruben didn't come out, but they all got together. And there's almost as if they said, all right, you know, let's just, you know, focus, get it done. And Jason Adam did what he normally does. Got the next three and then Suarez got the last three. But Jackson Merrill, you scared us. You scared us on that play. There was quite a few of people holding their breath. There was. And here's the funny thing that went through my mind, Tony. You didn't see it, but I bet you the same thing would have gone through your mind. This guy's played an exemplary center field for a guy playing it for the first time in his life. And I thought, Oh no, you know, I mean, the first time he's going to miss judge and run in and the ball's going to go over his head is going to happen now. You know what he said? He thought he saw goodness. He got back there. And I, and I totally relate to this, because this has happened to me in that stadium before. He thought that that ball was chopped into the ground. Oh, really? Yeah. Yeah. And so like, there are certain spots on the field where there's like almost a blind spot when the ball, when the pitcher throws and the hitter swings. And I've, I've just happened to me before where you think the ball hit the ground, like it was hitting to the ground first. You take a step up, take that first two steps in as he did and then realize, Oh, you know what? I gotta go back. Someone on the chat said on the replay, because I didn't get to see the replay, but his eyes are like, why? The funny thing is I looked at it on after Jesse told me I went back and looked on the research tool and I saw it. And you can see his eyes that big from the regular, what was it? ESPN feed that they had, like, yeah, you can see it from that far away, how big his eyes are, because you know, that's those two words are going in off in his head as his eyeballs are that big. Yeah. Yeah. We're going to have some interviews that Tony did last night. And one of them is with Jackson. So we'll hear that. Yeah, Tony was doing human's work. We got to talk about the clubhouse guys. I mean, all three of us were down there. Tony was getting absolutely lambasted with celebration, campaigns and beers and Scrabby was doing his thing and I got hit in the face too. I was kind of on the outskirts. You were, you were, but we'll talk about the clubhouse a little bit. But were you a little at all surprised Tony at the level of celebration for a wild card series? No, not after, not after hearing them explain it in after the clench, you know, I think these guys, you don't know how many times you're going to get a chance to be here. And so you celebrate these moments when you can celebrate no matter what, no matter what. And they got the right type of, yeah, they didn't overdo it. No, they have the right type of men in that locker room that understand that, all right, you got, we got this data enjoyed this, but tomorrow we hop on a bus and it's back to business back to work. They've shown that pretty much all season long. Yeah, I'm not concerned that they're going to take the Dodgers lightly and feel like they've already, you know, done it now. So not at all. Not at all. All right, we got plenty to get you lots to talk about. We're going to break down this locker room. What it looked like. I mean, they were still getting the plastic down. I think after out three was done. So it was a good thing those guys stayed out there for a little bit. Scravey got doused. I got Tanner Scott was hunting. I got yeah, I haven't for me first. I had bird's eye view of Tanner Scott chasing Tony around the club house with beer and champagne. It's not like ring around the rosy chasing like he's just stalking me and I could yeah, I could feel him. So I knew where he was. He still got to be pretty good. We'll get into it when we come back more going to Chris on the other if your day sounds like we need the report ASAP. You deserve medulla if you've persevered through. All right, welcome back. underway for a Thursday. Happy days in San Diego. Tigers move on. Knocking off the Atlanta Braves five four last night to take the series two games to zero tonight. The Mets and Brewers will decide the other National League wild card series. They're obviously tied at one. Game three and Milwaukee gets underway in about 90 minutes. Well, that was an incredible game too, right? Jackson Cheerio. You know, the Brewers have their own Jackson. Jackson's are taking over baseball. No kidding. He's Cheerio hits two homers and then Garrett Mitchell puts his name in the Brewer Annals with a two run homer to win that ball game. So Milwaukee staves off elimination. The American League series are done surprisingly, I think in both, right? They're all road teams. Detroit takes out the Astros ends their seven year run of making it to the ALCS and Kansas City shut down Baltimore. The Orioles got a Cedric Mullins home run yesterday and that's all they got over two games against the Royals. So the Royals will play the Yankees and the Tigers will play the Guardians. Just a quick note on the American League who had three AL centrals. Yeah, that's in there on their bingo card on their bingo card. Three teams from the AL central and the Yankees. Here's the other thing. Yankees payroll is greater than the combined payroll of the Guardians, Tigers and Royals. Yankees. Yeah. I mean, Aaron just makes like he probably makes more than the whole Tigers team. I think I think somebody on the Astros. Oh, Hader Hader makes more than I think the all of the Detroit payroll. Yeah, how'd that work out for him? Didn't work out too well yesterday. I'm sure Padre fans were kind of quietly smiling to themselves when they saw the highlights last night that it was. I don't let it go. I know you let it go, but I know a lot of people haven't let it go. I hope not because as I think as he so eloquently put, he's living rent free in your head if you're still thinking about Josh Hader at this point. He's not wrong, but he's also we're also living rent free in his head because when he came out of the bullpen that one day, he spiked the first pitch and they scored a run. So he was nervous. To Karma. I think that's a little bit of a reach to Karma got you, Josh. I'm going to believe that even if it's totally not true. That's a bit of a reach. Even if it's totally not a reach. The baseball gods were like, you got to spike this bro. Boom. Bro, he came in and did the ultimate, the ultimate middle finger to everybody is he came in in the eighth inning of that game. That's true. Which he never did. Yeah. Well, he turns out he was smart not to come in in the eighth inning when you're right. You guys are all right. You guys are off. You got a little leap, Josh alone clubhouse last night was a lot of fun. Tony did an amazing job. We're going to hear his interview with Jackson Merrill in a moment. The celebration was cool. I look forward to another one. Hopefully next week, if and when they can beat the Dodgers. I think the the picture that stands in my mind was at the very end when I was when I was walking out. Jake Croninworth was shoeless walking through and he was sloshing through the liquid that was down on the floor. It's a good word for it. Because I mean, there's a lot of champagne. There's a lot of beer. Not a lot of it is actually, no, he actually drinks it. That's what I was trying to spray it all over everything. And it just ends up being all, you know, on everything. You know, I think that is the misconception that because you see all of the alcohol that guys are back there just slamming them back. And although there might be one or two slam back, sure, most of it ends up on bodies and floor and plastic, I should say, because I got to tell you, there is no outs or there's three outs in the in the game and end it. They were still laying the plastic down on like the last quarter of that locker room. I mean, it was they were having just in time, they were having to move it quick. It's kind of, um, darned if you do, I didn't want to do it. It is darned if you don't, because if you put it up in the eighth inning and you blow the game, then you're really quickly taking all that down. And I hate to bring it up, said it was, is sensitive to having the yank plastic down. It's happened to almost everybody in the past. It's happened to them before. The worst team that ever happened to was the Red Sox in the 86 World Series when they were, you know, two outs away. That's two run series having to pull it. They had two ugly to win the World Series at New York against the Mets. And they had to race in there when the Mets scored three in the bottom of the ninth and remove all that stuff before the Red Sox got back in the clubhouse to realize just how close they had been. You know, yeah, it's not, you know, if it's a terrible reminder, that would be if you walked in after losing that game and their plastic is still up and they're just now trying to take it down. Just all kinds of the champagne cards being pushed out and they push out. That would be terrible. That would be like a major league moment right there, like in a movie. Well, if you want to get some ideas, I know we all posted videos last night down in the clubhouse, you get a little feel for what it was like in there. But Tony was in full garb. He was decked out with his, he had his own plastic on. He had his goggles on. And he was interviewing everybody, including Jackson Merrill. That's your cue. I know I started the video with playing right now. It's your cue, buddy. It's playing right now. Apparently not. Not to anybody else. So much for having it synced up. Yeah, I was so ready to go. It was a great attempt. It was a great attempt. I thought it was there you go. Playing is it going to work or are we just going to go to break? I got to open it up in my folder and no one gets to see the video because it's not working. I'm very disappointed about this, guys. Wait a minute. You shot the video. I did. You downloaded the video. I edited the video. You edited the video. You place that video and it's not playing. You just said it was fun. I'm here with the kid, Jackson Merrill. I mean, at this point, nothing you do seems to surprise us. You seem to step up to every moment that's there for you. Just talk about playing in your first postseason and balling at the same time. I mean, my fans come to watch you. I feel like that's a sign you got to do as best you can. You know, you got to get it all out for them. And we had an amazing crowd here every single time. I got to ask you a little bit about your defense and center field because at least from up top, I've noticed the last month, your route running is getting crispier and cleaner. Are you finally starting to feel comfortable patrolling center field? I was. And then when our crowd is at the top of their lungs and nines that I can't hear the sound, I'm like, all right, damn. Because I thought that was a chopper. I thought he like hit in the ground and was fed up. And then I was like, oh, no, I got to get this. But, you know, as soon as I see it, it's in the air, it's got to be mine. You know, I got to go get it. That's been your attitude all year. I mean, at the plate right now, you're dialed in. It seems like hitting the ball all over the field. This was not this was not an easy matchup in terms of the pitching you guys saw. But once again, this lineup one through nine, it's deep. Just talk about having those type of guys in front of and behind you. Yeah, I mean, we only have one and one ending with five runs. So it was cool to two out knocks pile up pile up pile. Pass up a time to just try and get a run across every single time. So we're not trying to do too much. That's when we're on our best. That's been your model since the first day we talked in Korea. It's continued throughout the rest of this team. One of the things that I think I get a chance to see and that folks get a chance to see is your passion for this game. You, no matter what the situation is, you seem to be always carrying a high energy. Just talking, is that part of who you are in your role on this team? Am I opinion, in my point of view, like it's baseball. And once that bad is over or once that play is over, you don't get it back. So you got to give 100% at every single play, every single pitch you see, all of it, you got to lock it in, you know, that's how you got to play the game. And if you're not locked in, then you should be playing a big match up coming up on rival in the Los Angeles Dodgers. And it's going to be loud. It's going to be loud. It's going to be a battle. But no, I'm confident on guys. All right, very good, Scrappy. You finally got to play there. Did you really mean that last part? I mean, it was good. You know, I got to give Jackson some credit because he is a very excitable guy. And I know on the board last night, they showed the highlight later in the game of his triple that scored the two runs and made it five to one. And they kind of closed in on his face as he was standing in third base, yelling at the top of his lungs. Let's LA Faroe of go. Yeah, by the way, we're a faro tweeted. For a still still curious as to what happened to poor her air far, but that's in the past. That's another story. But no, Jackson is a he's a kid that gets excited. So for him to do that interview cleanly. Yes, he did right. Give him a look at what he really was thinking. Yeah, when that ball went on, almost went over his head. And I wouldn't have minded if he dropped swear word because he just locked in right there. You know what? That was a much better showing across the board from our from our Padres compared to Los Angeles. That's right. They didn't leave anything out. Joe went for it. He went and we forgot to Adam forgot to bleep it. We're all like, whoa, it was it was like it was about it wasn't just him. It was pretty much everybody. Yeah, it's true. And you talked to Musgrove. And I know that we don't know anything. But did you could you get a hint or two Tony and all that? Because I know everybody wants to know. I'm gonna be honest. I hope I'm wrong. But just the the the energy the the kind of just I just felt it in his spirit. Like he wasn't he wasn't I don't know if he was just believe it. Yeah. Yeah. That it happened or if he was worried because that's the sense I got as I was interviewed. I know he had to smile on. He had his glasses on. He was enjoying the moment. But you know, I just felt it like he was he was worried about it. Now what does that mean? I mean, listen, when guys have elbow stuff, you come out of the game. Typically, that's going to be some time. Even if it's not serious, you're gonna have to there's a there's a little bit of a reset there. Kala Goshyoka said in his interview with you last night and we'll probably play that later. He said that he noticed something was going on with Joe and let two pitches go by the word he said was Joe stuff started to deteriorate. Yes. Yes. What he said. Kala Goshyoka, by the way, gonna be the next great pitching coach somewhere. Let me tell you, right? To be able to recognize that? Well, you know, he's back there. He knows what it looks like when it's when it's sharp. Right. And the thing that this is how much of a gamer Joe is. I mean, he was he was on the the rubber getting ready to throw another pitch before Kyle stopped out out of the crouch and ran out there. Yeah. He noticed something was up. And you know, here in Mike, she'll talk about it. He said, Ruben said something to him. I think he said two pitches before. And you know, it just it was it was when I talk about the energy, the nervous energy when we saw Joe walk off that mound, everybody had that sunken fill in there for a second. I have the interview. I think we should listen to what? Kala Goshyoka. You want to wait to get your side? Yeah. You better wait till we get to the other side. Otherwise you're going to get yourself. I figured Chris is going to say something about the video not playing. All right, let's we'll get to that on the other side. We'll talk a little bit more Joe Musk Grove more Gwen and Chris when we return. If your day sounds like we need to report ASAP. You deserve Mandela. Tell you what that kid in center field is going to be something eight already is something else. But that's just to add another in their stable of really good players. By the way, that ball was leaned on. Did he hit the center? So there? No, what happened? Yeah. Oh, you're talking about Jackson Merrill. So there's poas. I don't think I got a couple of different words in leaned on because that one was hammered. Yeah, but you're right about Jackson Merrill hitting the ball out of the reach of Michael Harris. Yeah, for that triple Tony. That's not easy to do. Michael Harris catches pretty much everything out there. He covers a lot of ground and you get it over his head like that. It tells you how hard that ball is hit. Come out. Tim Smith and Miramar on Saturday to see Ben and Woods as they broadcast live from 2 30 to 4 30 to get you ready for the San Diego L.A. playoff game. You know, it's interesting about Snicker him and him and Schilte have similar backgrounds. Like came up through the minor leagues coached players. Snicker. I don't know. I don't. I'm not sure if he was. I don't believe he was. Yeah, but kind of similar mindsets. I didn't ask Schilte if he knows Snicker at all. But no, it's probably something I will ask. But similar backgrounds and you know, I think they they at least talk about the game in the same way. Which I find interesting. Snicker was a incredulous after game one and I love it because I think Schilte would have said the same thing. But the Atlanta media, this is after Michael King's game and the four nothing in game one. Yeah. And the Atlanta media was all over snit, not all over him, but they kept asking him. Why did you start this rookie AJ? Well, you know, Smith, Shauver and you know, adding pitched all year and what were you thinking and you know, he gives up three runs before you can get him out of the game and that's it. So they do that everywhere. It's not. Yes. They do. And so they kept harping on him. And so Snicker finally looked at the guy and said, really, wouldn't have mattered if we started Cy Young. Michael King didn't give us anything. So just shut up. You didn't lose that. And he's right. They didn't lose game one because the pitching, you know, they got held it together and they held it together yesterday after it was five nothing. So Atlanta's pitching was fine. They got beat period. That's it. They got beat. Yeah, they didn't have much of a choice. Their number, their ace had to miss the series with back spasms. Yeah, they had a double header the day before where they two guys threw in both games. Yeah, at least two guys threw in both games. So like it had this, the Padres were just a better team. And you know what? I knew that. But as I was writing down the lineups in my on my iPad, it looked a little scary. You just started as like, Lana's good. Yeah, it's like, Lana's good. But even as I'm going back and forth, like doing a Padres line, Padres had a better lineup. And the same thing will be when they go to this Dodgers series. And that doesn't guarantee that the Padres win. But the Padres have the better team. You know, right now they have, you know, you can make the argument they've had the better team sits somewhere around June. 43 and 19 plus two wins is what the Padres have done. Now, the Dodgers haven't been too far behind that. No. But I agree with you. I think the Padres have a better ball club. And I know that everybody's going to, there's so many different things to play into this. The Dodgers, the pressure, you know, of having, you know, been the number one seed. Now, what is this? A 19th year in a row? And you know, only the one world series and David Roberts and the pressure and the payroll and they got Otani. You know what the other pressure is? That I don't think anybody's really thought of. Showee Otani. This is his first post season since he's been in the big leagues. Yeah, he's never been in this on this stage before. And it'll be a night. He did get to some things done in the world baseball. Yeah, that's a different stage. That's in that's in March. Not the same thing. Right. And the other thing is the why would didn't mean to interrupt you. I always said it. I only said it because somebody's going to tweet you. Right. He's right. He did. He's in the baseball class. Yeah, no, he definitely, he's right on that. Chris is blaming Twitter. I am blaming Twitter for my interrupt. Here's the other thing. The Padres have pitched Showee Otani very well this year. And so I just, I like, I like the Padres chances, man. I really do. I really do. They've done an awesome job of putting this team together. And in, you know, here's our guy. You know who our guy is on ESPN, Scrabby? You know, on ESPN plus one, Chris, is it too little? It is our guy Bradford Doolittle. And once again, he's back for more. How can he have anything bad to say about Jackson Merrill now? You know, I didn't have anything bad to say about Jackson Merrill, but Bradford Doolittle was the guy that at the end of August, I think it was, still had Jackson Merrill rank six six in the rookie ratings. And we kind of get, you know, went crazy about that. Now, here's his latest piece, which playoff team needs to win the World Series the most in terms of who has the most pressure on them to win. Now I, I didn't look at this story. It was just brought up to me on the round table today. And I thought, if you look at the National League, it's obviously the Dodgers have the most pressure to win. Yeah, I don't even think any, even a Dodger fan would say the same thing. Leave it to Bradford Doolittle. His pressure index, he calls it Tony the index. The index ranks the most pressure to win the World Series is on the Brewers. Huh? Since when has there ever been pressure on the Brewers to do anything? Second most pressure is on the Padres. Huh? I just, I don't even understand where he comes up with this. Now I'll read what he wrote. He said the Padres are third behind Cleveland and Milwaukee and drought points, which means they've won no titles since the beginning of their existence, obviously. San Diego's knock, knock factor isn't as high as it feels like it should be given anyway. Sounds like a guy who pays attention to analytics is making his decision, but she's made up analytics. He's basically trying to say that the Padres right now better take advantage of this window because it may close before it's too late, you know, before after the season. And I just don't, I don't even necessarily agree with that. Padres have a lot of great players signed for long contracts. I would definitely say it's just crazy to me. He ranked the Dodgers as the sixth most pressure. Yes, because he must not ever have been the Los Angeles. I promise you if somebody from L.A. reads that they are emailing him right now. Yeah. Come on. Here's the thing. I don't think he's completely wrong. I think of the teams left in the series. The Dodgers are far and ahead the most pressure to win. Okay. But the Padres are probably the second. They have some second most pressure. All right. When you think about it, right? Well, why do you say that? Do you think the Padres this is going to be it? Like they're going to lose a bunch of guys? No, no, no, not at all. I think they'll have a chance to get back, but you can't guarantee that. And so I think based on the expectation, even though the expectation is not as high as it was last year, I do think of the teams remaining, which you got though, and Ashley, you got the Padres, Dodgers, Brewers, Mets and Phillies. Mets or Phillies? Phillies have come up short here a couple of times recently. Yeah. And you know, you know, they've come up short. They've had a title in recent, far more recent. Yeah, you know, you're right. Then we were. Then we have. Yeah. I can see. I'm not saying that he's spot on to. I'm just saying that I can understand the Padres being at two, but I can't understand the Brewers being at one. I don't get that. There's no pressure playing in the walk. You played there. I mean, there's pressure on every team. Don't get it. I don't think that compared to the speaking. I don't think they're going to call into the radio shows and dog cuss everybody. This is this team. I'm gonna ask for accountability. This is a team that cuts pay that seemingly is always looking to cut around the payroll. Not necessarily cut so they don't have a competitive team, but they're not looking to spend over a certain amount. You know what I'm saying? Like, well, that's they typically lose their guys as they become free agents because they don't usually pay to bring them back. I mean, if you're talking about pressure right now, can there be any more pressure on any other one person in sports right now than Dave Roberts? I mean, there just can't be. Dave is, we support Dave on this show because Tony knows him, well, I've had a chance to meet him and we really like him and it's too bad he manages the team that we don't like. But for Dave and I think he's done a great job overall, but the bottom line is, if he doesn't get it done, I mean, last year they were swept in this round the year before, they lost the final three. They have lost six straight playoff games. That's probably going back to a couple of years ago. This is the Los Angeles Dodgers with the best team in the history of the sport. Oh, and six. And I wonder if Dave Roberts, Tony is gonna have to. I don't know what I don't follow the Dodgers closely enough and I'm gonna get to know them now. But in my mind, Dave Roberts, the thing that has hurt him as a manager in the playoffs is panicking. And what I mean by that is every single time it seems like one of his starting pitchers gets a couple guys on in the third fourth inning, they're out. And I don't know that he's got a good enough bullpen this time around to do this against the Padres. I don't know. Again, the Dodgers probably have a bunch of young arms that I haven't heard of yet that throw 105 miles an hour. But, you know, I think he's gonna have to somewhat be patient, even when the feeling for him is to, you know, react. I think that is shortsighted. And I'll tell you why. Okay. He was criticized the first three or four years for leaving his car in too much. Kershaw being one of them. And then, yeah, now he's kind of adjusted to the way that everybody else and now now he's bringing up to it. But your point is still correct. He has, I think, in terms of the managers, the most pressure of anybody can't even be close. It's not Aaron Boone's got a lot because he's in New York, but I take that back. So, you know what, I keep forgetting the Yankees are still in this. So, I would still put teams like the Yankees, the Dodgers ahead of the Padres, maybe even the Fills from that standpoint. Everybody else, though, I think is underneath the Padres. Well, I think the Padres got a great chance, but I think their window is going to be open for a while. I agree with that. Um, you know, we're going to find out in the next three weeks, if it's their time, because I think they're good enough to win the whole thing. It certainly feels like it. I'm not going to lie. It, you know, and we talked about this today, Tony, and I thought it was an interesting point that Ben brought up again on the round table. You know, when Joe Musgrove came out of that game last night, I don't know if you saw it, but I did, he tapped his chest right where the Peter Seidler logo was. And I feel like, you know, a lot of guys kind of referenced Peter as this thing's gone along. I don't know what everybody's spiritual beliefs are out there, and it's not something we need to talk about at the moment, but I feel his passing has been something that this team has leaned on as a galvanizing tool to try to get this done to win it for Peter. And I think Ben Higgins brought up a great point. If they don't win it all, that's not because of Peter, either. But I think it's something that the team kind of buys into, and every team needs a little something like that to lean on. Tony, agree or no? No, I 100% agree. I think it's something that is not always spoken about amongst those guys, but they know what it is. It's certainly brought up in the speeches, in the two speeches I've heard afterwards from Mike Schill. You know, I think that's something he talked about early in the season as well. So I don't think there's any doubt that these guys, a part of this is about playing for Peter Seidler. He had such an impact on a lot of those guys on the team that, yeah, I can 100% see that. And it makes sense. But it doesn't guarantee anything, and I don't want to, you know, try to insinuate that. A lot of people who've owned teams and, you know, great people, baseball people, football people have passed, and their teams have tried to win one for the Gipper type of thing. And you don't always win it for the Gipper. You weren't here last week when, after the triple play, when I said, you can't argue with me that that wasn't some sort of Peter Seidler. Defined intervention, because it's never happened before to clinch a playoff spot. That was crazy. First time ever. Yeah. By the way, we forgot about Kyle Higashioka, guys. Were we supposed to go to him? Yeah, but we can go to him after this break, if you guys want to. I didn't think we were. Oh, yeah, because he was going to talk about Joe. Yeah, that's what we were. Yeah, it's how we got to. But you guys got into a good conversation, Bradford, do a little bashing, which is always a go to when you have a long segment. You just, you look up what Bradford's written. We don't talk about him too much. When you're not here, we talk about him quite a bit. So, do we have time for DeRosa? What he said? How long is that clip? It's a little bit longer. We're headed to break. We'll play that when we get back. We'll play some audio when we get back. I'm not the only one that thinks the Padres are the better team. We'll cover it on the other side. More Gwen and Chris, more talk on Padres Dodgers, and some Kyle Higashioka sound. We actually, with no baseball today, are headed to a football this evening. We're gonna have the Thursday night football game coming up in a little while between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons. It doesn't work like the Raiders. What are you talking about? They're pirates. The Falcons? Nah, you don't have the same field. That was wow. I just got shot down for my Buccaneers. You should have been shut down for your falcon. Move. Did you like the talents though? The talents were better than your sound. You know, there was an owl in my backyard over the weekend and that thing was scary. So remember when I told you about the owl in the staircase and how they thought that they the owl killed the woman instead of the guy? Remember that? Vaguely. Okay. I try to put most of your stories out of my mind. But I vaguely remember that one. So we'll have football at 430. We have a full four hour show tomorrow. So make sure you join us on what I believe tomorrow is Tony Gwen Jr.'s birthday. It is. Tomorrow. I made the big board yesterday. Did you see that? Oh, did you? Oh, this was amazing. I was sitting next to Annie Halbrunn and I look up at the big board. Sean Murphy's up and it says the fun facts. You know, I put the fun facts up there. It says Sean Murphy shares a birthday with Tony Gwen Jr. October 4th. I look at Annie Eggo. That's the best reminder I could have ever gotten. Libra Gang right there. Yeah. Sean Murphy was on deck last night when Travis Darno popped out to end the series. For the smoothness of wrapping up a series, a catcher catching a pop-up and falling over the first basement wasn't exactly the glory type. They were both calling for it. Yeah, they wanted to get that. I'm glad to gosh, Yoko caught it because I don't know that Solana would have got it. Yeah, close. I think you're right. I think the other thing, um, thing I lost my train of thought. The collision there or no, the collision. No, that's what I was going to say. The collision stood out to me because, mainly because Robert Suarez was having a clean inning and it would have been just, you know, the last thing we needed with. Oh, an extra swing, extra swing, right? They threw the fastball when he popped it up in the air, which made her gosh, Yoko trip and he fell and he dropped the ball. Right. You would have played him. I was definitely happy. He came out, had a clean one. Um, you know, he's back. Some of his, some of the, some of the guys who were supposed to replace him, you know, I think, uh, Jason gave up the, the two run shot Jason. Don't ever do that to me again. I'm gonna have to have a word with him. If I, I probably won't get a chance to have a word with him. So Tony, when they win the World Series, have a word with him and tell him that I, you almost jinxed him. I did. I went on yesterday and I said, there's nobody I'd feel more comfortable with on the mound than Jason Adam. Did he lose the game? No, but you didn't show him. I didn't totally jinx him, but the tweets came flying in after that to run Homer. Leave it to Twitter. Leave it to Twitter to blame me for that to run Homer that Jason Adam gave up. But which are you ready first for? Mark DeRosa talking about the Padres. What's wrong, Tony? You're just getting right to it. I use it. Well, I can't. We can't forget it in a second segment in a row. I'm making executive decision. Chris, which would you like to do first? Kyle Lagashyoka or Mark DeRosa on why he loves the Padres? Uh, like Mark DeRosa. All right. Mark DeRosa from MLB Network, a manager of a team USA in the world, a baseball classic. Mark DeRosa. Yes, that guy. I'm hoping that this works because I set it all up. Here we go. The Padres are completely, complete. They have it all. They have it all checked. They really don't have date. And I could argue had Arizona not walked into Citizens Bank last year and won both game six and seven, I would say that's the toughest place to go into. But if the snakes can roll in there and get those W's, then I got, I can't put them one. I almost feel like that might be the toughest environment. People argue it's the new Yankee Stadium is not the old Yankee Stadium. Agreed. That's agreed. That place is on top of you right now. It is. It is. I want to just get a couple of takeaways from last night. Certainly, I think the depth of what AJ Preller's done with his roster. You hate to see Joe Musgrove go down, but they can cover it. They're going to have seats ready for L.A. Darvish. He just goes on to kind of preview everything for that. So he was not only just loving the Padres, but the environment at Petco Park. I'm telling you, it's, it's, it's not the same as it was. And listen, it was, it was lit during the regular season. This is just a different deal. Like how it would, 40, let me pull it up, 47,700. Who they got more in last night? Yeah, no, they broke it again. They broke it again. 47, 705. 47, 705. Does that count the people, by the way, in Gallagher Square? Because there's another 5,000 people out there somehow. It has to. I don't know how they all jam their way in out there. It has to. Incredible. I'll, I'll say that all 47,705 are like dialed in. It's not like that during the regular season. You might have like 15,000, 20,000 like dialed in. Everybody else just enjoying himself, joint atmosphere at Petco because it's a great atmosphere. This is everybody like laser beam focused on the game. Yeah. And it's a different, it's a different energy. I didn't see many fights either. Something happened, something happened earlier up above us because you know, I'm looking out and you start seeing everybody look up behind you and I can't really see because of the overhang. There's also smoke and I was like, there's a lot of smoke and nothing came of that. So I'm glad that there is nothing wrong. But um gosh, what was I just, I just did it to myself too. I had something today. I'm getting, thank you. Boom. Standing here with Kyle, gosh, yoga, Kyle, big game tonight. This team certainly needed your offense yesterday and today. Just talk a little bit about how are you feeling right now being, you talked a little bit about before the game about just being a contributor to the ball club. You did that in a major way tonight. I mean, I was trying to put together, you know, decent at bats and not trying to do too much at the plate, you know, choking up a little bit just to make sure that I don't, I don't try to get too big, but you know, luckily, I caught a couple on the barrel, but I think it's just, I'm just glad to be helping the team with. With all due respect, I don't think any of this is luck after watching a full season of it. I mean, you and I talked early in the year, you talked a little bit about a golf adjustment that you made and it seemingly has got you locked in through the rest of the year. How have you been able to maintain that throughout the course of the season into the playoffs? Yeah, I mean, you know, I had a few good months in the middle and then late, late in the season, I was kind of struggling a little bit and I think that last series against the Dodgers, I really was able to kind of lock back in and start feeling good going into the playoffs, which is where it accounts. I think you might have had the biggest catch of the night when you saw Joe out there not looking right. He got back on that bump and was getting ready to throw another pitch. You ran out there immediately. You noticed something was going on with them. Just talk about what you saw from your standpoint that had you go out there in the first place. Yeah, I mean, this stuff started to deteriorate a little bit and it just, I could see it in his face. He was struggling. I probably should have gone out there a pitch or two earlier, but I think we were both open. He could just get through that header and get out of the inning, but I couldn't let it go any longer. Well, you guys got another big series coming up here against Los Angeles. Can we just, you know, give some of the credit to every magical thing that's happened this season to that trade, you know, that has brought us Michael King and Higashyoka and, you know, in New York, they got him and Juan Soto did his thing. So, you know, this wasn't a one-sided thing, but I think Tony, in a lot of ways, people thought it was one-sided in the Yankees favor, like the Padres made that trade because, well, they had to. They're shedding payroll. They took whatever they could get, but they had to get rid of Juan Soto. Those people didn't understand just how good Michael King was. None of us understood how good Higashyoka was going to be. And, you know, when you throw in the fact that Dylan Cease was acquired as a result of that, you know, A.J. did okay there. Better than okay. He did more than okay. Yeah. You know, to be fair, the trade, the way it was set up was it had to be a wait and see for everybody. Like, it was easy to crown the Yankees, the winner of that trade initially because the big leaguers that were being exchanged, it was, it was one-sided. You know, Juan Soto is, is Juan Soto. Yeah. But the idea, the reason why A.J. was comfortable with it is that his part of his job and his, and his team's job is to kind of be able to forecast the future. And they thought what they were going to see in the future, I don't know if they thought they were going to get what they got from King in terms of top five ERA pitching the amount of innings he did. Didn't miss a start that I can remember. I don't think they could have anticipated that, but they thought they were getting quality town. I have no doubt that there was a part of A.J. that knew that he might be able to flip somebody and get somebody different out there at some point, which he did for Cease. But to be fair, as I was saying, it was hard for anybody not to say the Yankees won it. But now you get through a full season of 2024. This might be the best win-win trade. I can remember in quite some time where both teams, right? The Yankees wouldn't give Soto back right now. No, they wouldn't give Soto back. So I think this is probably one of the few cases where both teams not only win, but win big and feel good about it and feel great about it. Yeah. That just doesn't happen very often. And the main reason is the reason you and I hate to talk about prospects so much is because they typically don't end up being equal value or better than what you gave up. The catch in this one is that Michael King wasn't necessarily a prospect at this point. He had already graduated to the big leagues along with Agashyoka. So it's been a win-win attack. I would say maybe the Yankees in my mind come out a little bit behind because they have to resign Juan Soto. He's a free agent and they're going to have to open the checkbook. But they knew that before they did. That was the deal. They knew that was going to happen. They wonder if they'll be able to afford them. I mean, I'm reading stuff that they are going to be able to afford them, but the ownership might not want to pay. Here's the thing. I mean, once players start meeting with actual owner, I think, Cy Steinbrenner and Soto met and they were googoo-gogging over each other. I think the man's going to get his money. Are you sure they're googoo-gogging? It's like the that meme of Wolverine holding a picture or whatever. That's Steinbrenner holding a picture of Juan Soto. So, you know, it's win-win for both sides. No doubt about it. Well, just so if you Audrey fans are wondering, I was at Yankee Stadium last Sunday as part of my, you know, trip the process. Oh, yeah. He texted us this. Around the world, maybe days. A couple of things happened. A, I walked into the stadium and no more. I was only there for less than a minute and came upon at Tony Gwen 19 Jersey, which I thought was awesome. And did you talk to that person? I did. Well, of course I did. My wife went up to him and said, "Oh, yeah, my husband works with his son." And he was like, "What? Who's this crazy lady?" She was all excited to tell him, "Oh, yeah, we know Tony Gwen and his son and my husband works. He listened to the station. He's like, "Oh, it's like being bombarded." He was like, "Look at him all around." I just said, "Can you turn around? I want to take your picture to send us, you know, back home." So, but, but they did. There was some announcement made about Juan Soto. He wasn't in the lineup that day of the final game of the season, but I did give him a boo just for my own, my own good trick-wishing with dealing that game. First inning, Trent Christian, it's a home run. I'm like, "Oh, my goodness. This is crazy." Yeah, so. You're his good luck charm. Yeah, Trent should have me come out more often, but, you know, I couldn't help but think when I was there at Yankee Stadium that, you know, maybe we'll be back. It's a possibility. Obviously, is there. We're a long way from that, but it was certainly in my mind. Padre's better make a spot on the plane for me when they make a spot series. What are you doing? I'm just telling you, right now, they're not making a spot on the team. All the players think that they get cool. They're like, "What's up, bro?" I think they all think you're cool like we do, but I don't, you know, I don't think- But they're not going to- They certainly aren't going to fight for you to get a spot on the plane. No, I believe that. You don't think Fernando's going to fight for me? Yeah, I don't think so. He's like, "This kid's just going to look at my abs the entire time." Even though I'm like 15 years old. Do you care to be a little more, reveal a little bit more about that story? What? Well, how Tony's interviewing Fernando after the game, and you're staring at the guys' abs. I wasn't staring at his abs. I can't take you anywhere. I was doing video of Tony's interview, and you cannot help but look at his abs. They are, like, I was telling the guys before the show because I know that I said this on my videos. I'm a guy who's never been in that sort of shape. I have wanted to be in that sort of shape for- So it's more of an admiration type deal. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. It's a more of an aberration type deal for sure, but- Now they're an aberration. Not an aberration. Now I'm going to peel back the curtain even more and say, "Tony even looked at the abs because they were right there!" I mean, you know, that's just- I'm interviewing him. He's got his shirt off. Like, I see his six-pack. It's all good. He got one. Yeah. Yeah, I don't- Yeah. Banging with 20-25? Right? 25. He's 25 years of age? Oh, yeah. That helps. Man, I'm 14 years older than him. Yeah, so I mean, that's what life is like at 25. I will say, though, change the years. Fast metabolism and good bodies. And working out every single day. Yeah, it's what it is. Being a recovery alcoholic, I had a few questions about going into the clubhouse, and they asked me how I handled it because all the champagne and the beer and everything floating around. I told someone I got a straw and I got a blooper. No. The first moment I went in there, someone was spraying champagne and hit me in the face, and it got near my mouth. And so I just rubbed my mouth- Did you- Is there any sense of panic in that? No. No, because I knew what I was going into, and I had already done this in 2022. It was more nervous in 2022. Are you nervous in 2022? Because we never talked about this in 2022. No, I was nervous in 2022 because I wasn't sure, but this time I knew I was going to be fine. But for anybody out there who thinks that you can't stop drinking, you can eventually get to the point where you're walking around and getting sprayed in the face with champagne. And not anything twice. And you'll be okay. So thanks to everybody who cared enough to ask, honestly. Well done. Scrabby. We'll take a break. Check some traffic out there for you. And then a lot more going in Chris. We got a big five today. We got a Chris versus the fans. Tony and I will have our NFL pick them. It's all coming up ahead of Thursday night football, Padres and Dodgers, not until Saturday, but fun to talk about. And we'll do more of that on 97 through the fan. 323 on the clock. Tony Good Jr. Chris Ello, Matt Scrabby. Padres enjoying an extra off day because they took care of business. Clean sweep of the Atlanta Braves. They'll phase the Los Angeles Dodgers beginning Saturday, followed by a Sunday game, off day Monday back here at Pekko Park on Tuesday, five 30 Saturday and five o'clock Sunday. Why are your game times for the first two games to be exact? Because you know, MLB likes weird times, five 38. Thank you. And then five oh eight. If you're in front of your TV at five 30, you'll have an eight minutes to I don't need. You know, I did see Carl low. Did you say how much did you do? You know, the name dropper. I'm walking in the elevator at the end of the game and I saw Carl and I didn't even know. Okay, I did see Eduardo Perez and David Cone walking by and I asked them how the broadcast went. They mumbled something and moved on. But Carl Ravitch is not. Yeah, he's not my favorite. You know that I was yeah, I was hoping that you would have said to get assigned to the Padres series. I'm like, I'm a listen to Tony and Jesse anyway, but I think we get a Joe Davis and John Smoltz. Oh, we get that one. Well, Joe Davis is the Dodger announcer, which I think will get some people thinking that we're getting there already on. Oh, they're already on it. Yes. They don't like it. The Padres fans think we're going to get the raw end. But I've listened to Joe Davis enough to think that he's a he's a pretty good pro. I think he's going to give the Padres a fair shot. And he and John Smoltz doesn't care about no Dodgers payroll. He's up to talking base first Joe Davis is going to give the Padres a fair shot. Second Joe Davis is not going to decide the outcome of any game. So just, you know, enjoy. What was I going to bring up? There was something that we had talked about. Yes, I said that there was some commotion up above me and I could last night. Yeah, one of my buddies, Tim Spooner, shout out to Tim sent me a video of it. Apparently, it's a fan who had a Dodger jersey on. Yeah, some point during the game takes the Dodger jersey off with a Padres jersey underneath it. And I don't know if that caused people to be upset with him or no, they're cheering. They were they were they were excited. Yeah. Good. Good. Good. Yes, they were cheering. And I thought this was kind of funny because it's like, come on. I did see some Dodger fans in the stands. And it's like, why I don't understand people that come to games and where jerseys of a team. He said he was in New York and my man at a Tony Gwynne jersey on it. Yeah, did you have a problem with that? No. But I do when it's the Dodger fans, like, you know what you're doing when you walk into pet co-part during the playoffs. Maybe this Dodger or this fake Dodger fan, apparently. Yeah. Maybe you thought you think San Diego folks are civilized. He can come watch a game in a different Jersey and nobody's gonna have anything to say. I mean, they probably won't, but, you know, yeah, in the big five, which we're going to get to here in like 10 minutes or so, the Padres have done something that will anger the Dodger fans boss, move anger, but we'll get to that in a little bit. Love it. Love it. Where else were we going? If you love Mediterranean food trisperos for authentic Mediterranean cuisine and Coronado or La Jolla for dining or take out options, visit spiros cuisine.com. We were also talking last night after the game, if they had to do a game three, their bullpen was kind of not, no, no, no, the Padres, the not, not a mess, but they had used Jason Adam two days in a row. They'd use Robert Suarez two days in a row. And they would have used him three days. You think so? Yes. They got this point. You're trying to win this this time. What do you say? Two days in a row is like a match from Hijer. No, it's my man. Listen, if they didn't eat it, but there's still some arms out there that can get some outs. How about the Padres that, you know, you're right. And you could paralt that still out there. You've got more than home. More than home out there. For sure. That's right. Brian Hoeing, by the way, again, hats off again to this guy who we acquired. And his name was barely in the press. You know what I mean? It was like, we're bringing in who he came. He came with who? I'm getting it. Tanner Scott. Tanner Scott, right. We're getting Tanner Scott and some guy named Brian Hoeing was at the bottom. And, you know, I felt good about, I didn't, I didn't love Joe going out of the game. Nobody did, but I felt good with Hoeing and he gave up a home run to Solaire, but a home run, a solo shot when your head five to one is not bad pitching. You're not walking guys. You're not putting a lot of traffic on. And he, you know, gave you what he had to give you and got you to the rest of the bullpen. I felt the same way. When Joe came out, I didn't feel any sense of panic or, man, this, oh, this is bad for I didn't think that obviously Joe being hurt is bad. We don't want that. But in terms of who was going to come in and hold it down, I had zero concern. And that includes you know, or Suarez in the back, back end of it. I think this team has been battle tested. They've had a myriad of different things happen to them over the course of the season. And they just keep finding ways to, to win. And so I'm telling you, I got a chance to, and Scrabie was in there. Did you get the chance to hear the speeches or did you come in after? No, we were all in. We're not allowed in. We're not chosen. Let's just say that's not just us. None of the media is allowed in until after that. So you were, you were kind of privy to that. I got to hear the speeches and the recurrent theme is that that 20, the 26 men in there, they believe in each other. And that keeps popping up. It was said in the Dodger after they clinched it in LA. It was said last night multiple times. They are, are, and even, even after they won game, one of that series, they came in, it was like all business. There wasn't too many sell, there wasn't celebrating at all. It was just like a normal regular season victory for them. And to me, that tells me this team is really dialed into what they're trying to accomplish this. Tony, what are you going to do if you're the manager, you know, just thinking this through now, two, because I don't think Musgrove is going to pitch in the Dodger series either. So it ceases already been named for game one. They haven't named game two yet, or game three, but I believe that's got to be Darvish and Michael King. Or if you want to go the other way around, but that's game two. What are you going to do for game four? Is it Martin Perez taking Musgrove spot? You Darvish is set for game two. Oh, it is Darvish. That one's game two. Okay, I didn't know that was set. Thank you. So King will pitch here in game three. Perez in game four again, I feel comfortable if that's what they do. I don't know what else they would do. He's the next guy up. And look, I mean, Hassan Kim didn't make it. So it's the next guy up and Solano's in there and he's a threat. So in Bogart's goes to short and he can play it. So it's one of the beauties of this team. They've got the depth and you like to call it length, but it's working for them right now. And Annie had a good line today. But on the round table, look, the potters are going to do that. Jill Musgrove in the next series. The Dodgers are going to be like, what, you're missing one pitcher? The Dodgers are missing like nine pitchers. So, you know, we're going to take try to take advantage of it. The the length is is about the lineup, right? I mean, you getting down to your number on nine hitter and there aren't any or any like breaths. You can't take a deep breath, you know, because a gosh, you can get you Solano can get you at the eight spot or crone and worth. However, it's seven eight nine. So there's length in that lineup, but there is also depth, as you mentioned, Chris, I mean, and that's really been on display from the first two times that you Darvish and Joe were out. Yeah, the depth came into play there. It came into play when Toddy goes down, came into play when Bogey went down. I mean, when Jerrickson was dealing with the Bocke knee there for a second and he had to sit out a little bit like this has been what the Padres have have exemplified all year long and I don't see it changing just because, you know, Joe goes down. I think somebody will step into the fold. And as you said, my guess is it'll be Martin Perez and they'll go from there. They'll let it all hang out again. All right. Let's just say that we will root against Martin Perez pitching though in the next series because that would mean Joe's healthy. No, that would mean that we went in three. I mean, this is basically the same exact situation they had 2022. They have to they have to play two games in LA, then they come home for two. They lost the first one 2022. They won the next three. Yeah. And Manny Machado said or big poppy said now what to Manny Machado kind of thing and Manny Machado popped back to the next night. He was like, this is what we're winning. That's what we're doing. It was great. It was great. All right. Let's get to break on the other side. We've got the big five more going to Chris on the other side. Hi, Chris. Hello, Tony Guinjunga. Mr. Scrabie, all of us enjoying a Thursday and an afternoon off for the Padres tomorrow. They'll also be off, but we'll be on two to six full four hours tomorrow. Mike Schilt, manager of the Padres is scheduled to join us tomorrow. Did you tell me I couldn't say that like seven times, Tony, were you were here for that? I thought you said it was fine to say that I said that I did not say that. He just announced that Mike Schilt is scheduled on the show and Tony has been here every time I've said, please don't say it. Sorry about that. He's scheduled, but we just don't have a full commitment. Chris, what is wrong with you? Scheduled means that, you know, scheduled. Okay, he's scheduled. It doesn't mean he's I didn't guarantee his appearance. Yeah. But now if he doesn't come on, everybody's going to be like, why didn't he come on? Well, that's up to them to worry about. I mean, he's got he's got workouts tomorrow. I know he's got a lot to do. Hope. All right. Let's we're hopeful. There we go. Oh, apparently, Ben Hagen said he was going to be on our show, too. Okay, shut down the bag. Boom. Sorry. I apologize. Yeah. Scrabie apologize to the man. I just did. Speaking of Ben, he and Woodsy will be broadcasting live Saturday. Yeah. Al Smith and Miramar, Ben and Woods broadcast from 230 to 430 ahead of Sam Levitt's pregame show gets you ready for game one, Padres and Dodgers, Al Smith, 394 pale ale, the official rally pint of the playoffs. You can watch all of the Padres postseason action at Al Smith tasting room in Miramar, game day specials on 394 and more route for the hometown team with other fans while enjoying the game with sound that Saturday, 230 to 430 at Al Smith in Miramar ahead of Sam Levitt's pregame show. All right, Scrabie, let's check some traffic. And then before I delay and get to mad at me, again, we'll get a big five going here. It's that time of the show when we check on the latest in sports, only the most important topics and questions are brought to light. Stop what you're doing and listen. These news stories will astound and amaze you. The one, the only. Oh my God. Who the hell cares? The big five starts now on 97th grade of fan. And guess what, guys, the big five now has a sponsor everybody. Hey, hey, hey, hey, welcome, welcome, five. So they're five moving on up in the world, moving on up, moving on. Big five is brought brought to you by I'm going to read the stinking sponsor the first time and I mess it up. This is very on brand for the big five. The big five is brought to you by Summit Subaru of El Cajon. See all the ways to save right now at Summit Subaru.com. All right, let's get into it. Number five, read it like that again. They're going to stop their sponsors. I know I might be over before it even started. Thank you, Summit Subaru. Now the Padres have, I would like to say this first, the Padres have received. What's the word I'm looking for? 50 million fans have attended games at Petco Park since it opened. Bernie Wilson tweeted that a little bit earlier. That's pretty impressive, I guess. 55 0 5 0 million in the history of Petco Park have passed through the gates to watch a game. So that's been accelerated the last three years three million three point something million this year. It's been accelerated a lot, but the Padres have officially put restrictions on who can buy NLDs tickets and basically what they're doing is they're trying to block out people from Los Angeles and that area from buying tickets. Dodger fans are not happy at all, but I think Padres fans love this move. The Dodger fans on Twitter, they're like, I wish San Diego is just so in their own head. I wish you had the sounder of Steven A. Smith saying, we don't care. We don't we don't care. We don't need his sounder. We have you to say it just as well. Last time I checked the San Diego Padres are a private business and they can restrict tickets to whoever they want to based on the living area because they want their fans to be in the stadium. So Tony, I think I know your answer, but do you think it's lame the Padres? No, okay. We don't need you. We we don't care how you feel. Yeah, I'm just saying this is a playoff game. And I don't mind that in the playoffs, you restrict some of your team. And by the way, this will be done by credit card. If your credit card is in in Los Angeles area, the billing address, billing address, forget it, forget it, forget about it. So if you're a Dodger fan living here in San Diego, you're good. Going to be able to buy tickets. You can't stop you from doing that. What about the people that buy tickets from elsewhere and then they transfer those tickets to LA fans? I think you could transfer. Yeah, that's going to happen. You can't. But you know what? Look, when we the thing we all remember, there's two things I remember about the game for of the playoff, like two years ago was A, the rain and the celebration. But B, there was very little blue in the stadium. Yeah, for that. For the first one of the first times I can remember it being so like not noticing Dodger like, man, there's like none in here. There was some don't get me wrong. Chris, you have anything to say about this? Uh, Greek. Uh, whatever Stephen A Smith said. We don't care. There you go. I'm looking for it. Oh, here it is. I found it. Oh, here. Let me turn down the music. I'm here to tell you right now. We don't care. I'm going to have to get that side. As good as yours was Tony. His was better. I got to say. Tony, yeah, Tony's a pretty good. Tony's good. Um, one day after the Baltimore Orioles were swept by the Royals in the wildcard series, the Orioles, General Manager, Mike Elias confirmed to reporters that manager Brandon Hyde is going to return for the 2025 season. The news isn't surprising, but following a second straight early exit from the postseason, some were thinking he may be let go, but he has the general manager that is has put any speculation to rest. The Orioles were the one seed in the AL last season and were swept in three games by the Rangers who went on to win the World Series this year. They didn't win a game. So he's 0 and 5 Brandon Hyde in postseason games in the last two seasons. Chris, is this the right move to bring them back? Absolutely. He's doing a tremendous job and the Orioles are still on the build. They've hit this hiccup, but sports is littered with stories of franchises that can't win the big one can't win in the playoffs. Guys that, you know, these guys are chokers. They never can do it. And then until they do it. And then all of a sudden they're the world champs and everybody goes, Oh, the Orioles. Yeah, we should have seen it coming. I think Brandon Hyde's doing a fine job. Oh, for five is going to, you know, keep him up at nights, but I think the Orioles would be silly to change course right now. Can you say fillies? Never mind. No, sorry about that. I had a brain malfunction. Tony, is this the right move to bring that? Can you trade that? I had a, can you tape that? I had a brain malfunction. Put that in with all of your other ones. Sure. I don't know what happened to my. What was the one thing? No, we can't even bring it up, Chris. We can't. What is with you? Bring up something we're not supposed to talk about on the radio. I think I assume you're asking me the same question. Yes. Is it the right move to bring Brandon? Absolutely. Brandon Hyde's done a terrific job on the team in it. It's a, it's a young team with virtually no experience in the postseason except the experience that they all got for the first time last year. And so, you know, I think this is part of the kind of bumps and bruises you got to have before you get over to hunt. It's very rare that you're in a Derek Jeter situation when you walk into the big league club and you just are winning just every year. That just doesn't happen. Phil Jackson kept losing to the Pistons. Right. It's, we're pretty smart to stay with them. It's a, it's a kind of part of the deal. So yeah, I think, I think Brandon Hyde deserved to stay for sure. All right. Number three, Buster Posey is the new president of baseball operations for the San Francisco Giants. Did I not call that before I left? I think, did you? I called it too. All right. We all called it done. No, no, no. I thought, no, the day we had the story about char had whatever messing up and what are you still here for? Yeah. I think we both talked about it. We both was a big side thing. We said that they ought to just make but put Buster Posey in charge and they did. I figured that was what's going to happen. I mean, the guy is a Giants legend. Anyway, he's now the president of baseball operations and former giant JT Snow asked Posey to hire him on KMBR, the San Francisco radio station. But he also talked about Blake Snell. JT Snow did and said, uh, quote, I wouldn't sign him. I would spend that money and go get a couple other pictures that maybe could take me into the sixth and seventh inning. I had a problem with him on Saturday not taking the ball and I get it. He doesn't want to get injured. You're not going to get injured. Go through, go show the fans and appreciate the fans and throw three or four innings and then get out of the game. That's a end quote from JT Snow. Tony, I've been waiting all week to talk about this. I know your answer should Blake Snell have started his game on Saturday. I mean, from his standpoint, I understand why he didn't. As a team, you know, this kind of falls in the same line as Josh Hader. You know what I'm saying? Like, as a teammate, it's tough to respect. You know what I'm saying? Guys will get over it. It's not like it's going to they're going to move on because it'll be a new season next year and it'll have a chance to maybe kind of come at that in a different way. Although he did say that he would have pitched. Had it been who were they playing? They were playing. I believe the Cardinals had the game had some type of implication. He said he would have pitched. He did, but thank you, play. What? Sorry. He's listening to his feelings about it. Yes. I think he probably should have taken the ball, but I understand why he didn't. Team game didn't mean anything. He's about to enter free agency after a disappointing one last year. So I get it. But I also get where JT Smith, JT Snow's coming from. Chris, I'd like to see them pitch. I mean, I love Blake. And I hope that he somehow winds and finds and zigs and zags and is way back here because he was a lot of fun to be around. He's a hell of a pitcher, but I think if he had to do it, I think he's going to look back maybe one day and say, you know, I probably should have just pitched that game. All right. JT Snow is like, I've never heard someone lobby for a job on the air before, but he did lobby for a job. I mean, they kind of sort of cross paths like JT Snow was obviously a player before Buster, but I read this whole thing. It's going to be interesting how they put the radio up there. Is that what he's doing? No, he was just on one of the shows. Oh, okay. Yeah. I guess. So he's October and Oakland. Okay. Yeah. But he thinks that Buster Posey has the right idea of looking with their eyeballs and not with analytics. So they're going to go back to the Giants. I don't know if JT's going to get a job. If he got that mindset, you got to be able to do both in today's game. That's true. That's true. All right. Number two, the Astros were eliminated from the postseason yesterday. This will be the first time in seven seasons, the Astros are in eight seasons. I'm sorry. The Astros will not be in the ALCS. Jose Altuve a hugged Alex Bregman in the aftermath of the sudden elimination and assured his longtime teammate who is a prepending free agent. Quote, you're coming back. We're not going to be the same organization without him talking about Bregman. In my mind, there's not a chance this is the last one. Chris should the Astros bring Bregman back. Not because of what he's done for them. Even though you'd like in a perfect world that to be the case where you say, Hey, you've been so great for us for all these years. You know, even though we think we can do better, we have a younger player. We're going to just go ahead and give you another 30 million because you're a hell of a dude. That's not how it works. So should they bring him back? If that's what they deem is the best for them. That's got to be my answer. All right. I think Jose Altuve is telling them what's best for them. Well, he is. And by the way, when they hugged, Bregman crushed her. Take my shirt off. Don't take my shirt off. Tony, do you think the Astros need to bring Bregman back? Yes, they do. If you know, this is one of those, you know, Astros had lost somebody seemingly every year in free agency for a little bit, Springer, Cole. They lost Verlander briefly. He came back like they've been there. They've been curated and been chipping away at this dynasty. I think this one would be the one that breaks the camel's back. So to speak, losing Bregman, who is him and it's him and Altuve at this point that have been the dudes there from the beginning of this. I think this would be the move that finally breaks the Astros. They got tremendous pitching, but he's certainly a part of the fabric and why they're as good as they are. It's difficult to replace. I think they got to bring him back, but I don't think they will. A lot of the Astros blogs don't think so either because he's going to command a lot of money. Number one. All right. So I had a friend text me this story and they wanted your guy's opinion. I thought it was hilarious. They were walking their dog, my friend, which is a 50 pound rescue my very sweet dog. I've met this dog before just extremely skittish being a rescue. So they were walking in a Halloween decoration cat thing popped out of a hat and the dog got so scared they attacked the Halloween decoration and popped it because it was one of those like air filled ones. So he went to the front door, but no one was home. He was going to like say, hey, my dog attacked your cat that's popping out of a hat over here. And so he left and he hasn't gone back. This was like two days ago. So he wants to know Tony, does he need to go back to the house and offer to pay for this cat in the hat? Does he need to need to? Is he get back? Yes, it depends on the type of individual this said person is your buddy. They went once and they haven't been there. They went once because they were there already. Yeah, they didn't really use a lot extra. It was there. Yeah, I can tell you that this person doesn't want to pay for this thing. So they probably don't want to go back and say, no, but they will. No, it's not me. Are you sure? I would tell you if it was me. Just doesn't mean that you said that you said you think they will go back a second time, but they don't want to pay. I think they will go back a second time because that like me, it's not me. They are afraid of karma. It's good. They should go back. Chris was leaving a note of possibility the first time around. Yeah, I'm sure it was, but he didn't. Well, it's not always a possibility because who walks around with a pet pet? No, that is a great point, Chris. I didn't even think about that. Let me just pull up my pad of paper. My quick dog walking paper. All right, that's it for the big five. Chris has the fans next. Into the four o'clock hour, we go. Tony Gwen Jr. Chris Ello. Matt Scraven. The song is perfect for this tone of voice. Padres Dodgers. What day is it Saturday? You may need to know that. I'll be a requirement. Are we doing the tickets? Yes, we're doing both of those. All right, chance to win a pair of tickets to Saturday's San Diego state game against Hawaii. You can also have a chance to win a pair of tickets to cake in the first ever concert at front wave arena this Saturday with the game of Chris versus defense coming up your way here shortly. Also, did I miss one? Yeah, no, I didn't. I got two. Oh, you're at the top of the page. You will win a pair of tickets to cake. Wait, did you already say that? I'm sorry. Oh my god. Oh, that's bad. I do. I do remember Tony saying this now. Wait, I literally said it like five seconds before then. I know. Where did my dinger go? Where did my dinger go? Where did my dinger go? All right. Yes, you did say my dad, my dad. You know what? This week, I have not got the sleep. I'm normal. I'm you. Never mind. I'm just gonna move on spiraling out of control. Chris, your camera is not on you. I've been trying to get his attention. It's all good. Sorry, everybody. It's not okay. All right. Should we just hop? Is you got some contestants? We do, but this hour is brought to you by the roofing profession. One I hadn't read. I looked at Tony like the roofing professionals at extreme roofing of San Diego. Mother nature is unpredictable and so is the San Diego rain. Don't wait till your roof suffers damage. Call extreme roofing of San Diego to prepare your investment from catastrophe. Schedule your roof inspection. Now six one nine three three four roof six one nine three three four roof or online at extreme roofs.com. Now it's time for Chris, first of the fans. If you had one shot, one opportunity to take down the human Allmanack himself. How do you do? Now is your time. Listen to me, this guy, strangers. Now is your opportunity to win a prize. Well, I hope you know it, Jen for Chris versus the fans starts now on 97 three the fan. Now while we were while you were gone, Chris, the game was not great. It was. I'm more than willing to admit that it definitely needs you. You're the only one that can do it, even though we've tried it in the past and it's been okay. But this time it was a complete disaster. It was terrible this time. I'm dying of life. We couldn't get out the first question. If well, thank you for missing me a little bit. I wanted to take a second here. Why did you say that? I just said I was just assuming that you missed me. I said that. I want to say hi to a couple of folks. If they could be listening there from Iowa, their name is Mike and Carla. We met them on the cruise and I told them that I would mention them when we got back to a Chris versus the fan segment because they were my teammates in the progressive trivia contest that they had on the ship. Every day at five 30, they guessed 20 questions and they kept track of who got the most answers right. And I thought, you know, I'm good at trivia. Yeah. And I told Mike and Carla, my teammates, my new teammates, new found teammates from Iowa, you know, Iowa. It was outside of Des Moines. It wasn't Dubuque. But they said they're going to start listening to the show. So if you're out there, guys, hi and thanks. But with my input, we finished in fifth place, which is terrible. There was only like seven teams. And I thought it was ironic because there was several sports questions. And I missed a bunch of sports questions. And it was just not like me to do that. They weren't. I thought it was ironic. One of the questions was, what is the fruit that is at the top of the Wimbledon tennis trophy? And I was, they looked at me like, come on, you got to know this. No, they have a pineapple at the top of the Wimbledon. I didn't either. Never knew that. That was the kind of thing I didn't know. But anyways, ironic because I'm pretty specific sports. Yeah, they were not even a sports question. I know. They were tough questions all the way around. We didn't do very well. I thought it was ironic. Since I'm supposedly a trivia king, just proof that there's always somebody out there who knows more than you do. All right. Fruit questions are now going on the list with some fruit questions. Actually, I did get a pretty good suggestion for some questions throughout the football season. So, well, I have a couple here today. The rules, you have to make it through three questions. Each question will get more difficult. If you get the question right, you move on. If you get it wrong and Chris gets it right, you're eliminated. But if Chris gets it wrong, then move on to the next question or you win. If you're a first time player, let us know before you get. I'm making sure Tony kid, the cameras can't say how they just did play. I'll just kept it moving like a little short one. Chris was a fan presented by SD fat loss lose 20 30 pounds in just 60 days visit SD fat loss.com to schedule your free consultation. And again, if you're a first time player, let us know before you get into it. And we will give you the first question for free today. Let's go to the contestants. Let's go. Let's start with Alex in Cardiff. Hello, Alex. Good afternoon, guys. Hello. Are you ready to play, sir? I'm ready to play. All right, here we go. All right. What is the term for a catcher throwing out a base stealing runner? Taking him off. It's like the official scoring term. Caught stealing. Sorry Alex. I'm sorry. Is that too hard? No, number one? No. That's about number one. Okay. Sounds good. Let's go to our next contestant. Oh, Michael and Lemma Grove. He came by Baja Rick's cantina. Hello, Michael. How'd it do? Here we go. veteran player question number one. What college did Baker Mayfield go to? Oklahoma. Oklahoma where the wind comes. We've been done to play in the wave in week. Finish it, Chris. Coming around the mountain. The wave in week. So sweet. Another one is gravy's finest moments. All right. Let's get to our next question. If somebody would have said Texas, A&M, I would have, I would have accepted it because technically he did go to both schools. All right, question number two. Who holds the, who holds the record for the most strikeouts in a single major league season? Batter or pitcher? Good question. Picture. Picture. Roger. Go rocket. Stay there, Michael. This record's not going to be touched, by the way. Nolan Ryan and I believe three, eight, three. Oh, really? Yeah. I don't see anybody getting close to that because nobody pitches more than 200 innings. You have to strike out every batter. Yeah. I mean, that's crazy. Three hundred and eighty three strikeouts in one season. He beat Colfax by one. Colfax had three inches. That is ridiculous. That's nuts. That is nuts. Yeah, it is. All right. Let's go to our next contestant. We'll go to, oh, Rod. Keeper of the chat. Hello, Rod. Thank you. Great. Great to have you on the show and the first time I'm playing with Tony on the phone. Let's go. All right. All right. Here we go. All right, Rod. Kirk Cousins is playing Thursday night football tonight. What college did he play? That's a tough one. That's a really good question. Let me hello. That one because I don't know the answers. I'm just going to drag with one. Wow. By shouting out the YouTube chat and all the great wonderful positive communities. Love you all. I don't know the answer. I love how you took your time and you did that. All right, Chris, you got to buzz him still. That's a yeah. You got to buzz him still. Oh, sorry. Tony, what's a buzzer? There you go. All right. That's what you get for playing with Tony here, Rod. Get a buzzer. Michigan State was a spot and he was a spot and then he didn't really do anything. No, he did any great note there. Thank you. Thank you too. Thank you too. I need to go home, everybody. I'm not even speaking clearly anymore. Thank you too. All right. Let's get to our next contestant, which will be Cameron in San Diego. Hello, Cameron. Hey, what's up, guys? I'm not too much. Ready to go? Ready to go. Here we go. Who holds the record for the most major championships in golf? Tony's watch in the game. What a play Lindor just made. Sorry to interrupt. No, it's OK. Cameron, who holds the record for the most major championships in golf? Lindor hit a shot into the gap and tried to stretch it into a double and it would have been out by 10 feet. Perkins made a nice throw play. Slid, terrain dropped it though. As Lindor was sliding on his belly around the tag, quite an athletic play to start that game. Go ahead, scrape. I don't know why Francisco Lindor's greatness bothers me so much. I don't know either. He could. You know why? Because when he was over the first 100 at bats this year, yeah, you claim that he was the worst player in the history. I don't know. I don't think I said that. All right, Cameron. Here we go. Question number two. Who is the first woman to dunk in a WNBA game? What? Oh, God, this is either Lisa Leslie or Echo Lobo. I'm gonna go with Lisa Leslie. Lisa Leslie. Gotcha. Well done. I would have missed that. Really? I was going to go with Brittany Grindr. I didn't know that Lisa was a first spark. Good job. I don't know why Brittany Grindr. At the form. I don't know why she did something too though. She definitely dunked. It was just years later. Years later. Okay. All right. Here we go, Cameron. This is a quick aside when I was working up in L.A. for a couple of years. Lisa Leslie scored in a high school basketball game. 100 points. Wait a minute. In the first half. Oh, what? I didn't know that part. I didn't know that part in the first half. How's that even possible? And the other team went home. After the first half, they just packed up and went home. They said, well, the coach thought it was a little absurd that they kept feeding her the ball. And I almost don't blame him for pulling his team off the floor at that point. Stop it. Why don't you? Well, you know, that was at a different time. You know, we were a little more sensitive to that. We weren't into just blowing kids off the floor like we are in high school. In high school. So what? You lost by 100 kid. Keep your head up. All right. Third final question. Here we go. This one's very difficult, but it is third. Who is the first non-American player to win NBA MVP? Non-American? Non-American. Good question, Scrape. Thank you. It's deep in the archives for this one. I did. I didn't do anything. Oh, I'm blank and I might have to guess here. Say I don't know. I don't even have a good guess. Okay. I'm going to take that because then Chris doesn't get a name. Yeah, you're probably better off not answering one because that does eliminate. I think it was rather recently, but I really am having kind of blanking on this. So my guess is going to be Majik Johnson. I think he was a French guy, wasn't he? Hey, I didn't catch it at first. I mean, either. I said, Johnson. I don't remember. Majik, that is. I know I am because I didn't even really think it through. It's not new at all. It didn't come to me right away. And I just didn't even worry about it. Hakeem the dream. Yeah. The Hakeem was incredible. Nice. So that's right. Game over. Nice work. Game over. Good job, Cameron. That's it. Real quick announcement. Padres Dodgers related. The Dodgers will be flipping their starters. So Jack Flaherty is now no longer pitching game one. He'll pitch game two. Yashinobu. Yapamoto will pitch game one who also faced the Padres in Korea. Yes, he did. So you can have a good outing against them. Padres have hit him well in both outs and he had a better outing the second time around, but Padres have swung the bat well off of him. So there's that. It's going to be stressful starting Saturday night. It just is. It just is. There's not really any other way around it. I mean, you're not going to win three games, nine to one. So get ready to hunker down everywhere. Or should you in this. That's right. That's right. All right. Let's get the break more Gwen and Chris on the other side. Our NFL pick them. All right. Welcome back. We're going to wrap things up with our NFL pickem segment. As that last clip proved your partner, Jesse Agler, has been on fire during these playoffs, Tony has been on point all the way. And you can tune in and hear Jesse and Tony Saturday at five thirty eight for game one of the NL DS. All right. We're going to switch to some football or a weekly pick them segments. Scrabby. Who's playing tonight, by the way? We got the Bucks and the Falcons tonight, which is why it's. Oh, you got some lineup decision. You better get to that. I just really love seeing the Falcons in primetime for like the ninth game in a row, even though they've only played four games. Anybody know why? Time nine. No, I guess her cousins is, you know, about to make something up right. I was going to say our Arthur Blank has influence or they really like what they're doing with the Falcons. The bird, the Falcons play it. Oh, no, that's the wrong one. You're fired today. This has not been a good day for me. You better hurry up because we've got four minutes now. I don't know where. Oh, here it is. It's time for Tony and Chris to face off. Playing for a season long prize of pride. I see pride. I see. The guys make their picks and then they stress over their picks all weekend. No, please. No, no, no. Quinn and Chris NFL pick up starts now. All right, Tony leads 23 to 17 and you pick first Tony with the three point pick. No game has anything larger than a seven point spread this week. So very tough week to pick. Give me a Seattle with my three point pick Seattle over the Giants at home, which leaves me having to take your Niners, Scrabby. When is McCaffrey going to be back? You think? Well, he went to Germany. So he should be straight to the next couple of weeks. Yeah, sure. Because you really just fly to Germany in the middle of seasons to yeah, man, to get back in a couple of weeks. I think they are aiming for the second half of the season. Really? Yeah. Okay. I'll go the Niners anyway over struggling Arizona. Tony. Two point pick. They say this week, Casey over New Orleans Monday night game. I'm not going with Chicago ever, which means I got a nobody's favorite by more than three points. The rest of the board. This is so tough this week. I'm going to take. We got a hurry too. Yeah, killing me. Uh huh. Green Bay at the Rams for two points. One point, Tony. Give me Chi town. One point. They will take you guys. I sure will. Over Cara O'Lina. I'll finish with my goodness. This is tough this week. I'll finish with Pittsburgh over herding Dallas. Okay. Upset pick Tony. Arizona over the Niners. For seven points. You like gold, Kyler one. You know, crazy. You know, when Kyler Murray plays well, you feel like he's never going to be stopped. And then he stops. And then he goes three weeks without doing anything. Yeah. I'll take Carolina. I think they're going to go into Chicago and beat Caleb Williams and company for four points. Boom. All right. We'll see how that turns out. What is wrong with you, Scraven? Does anybody else hear something in the studio? Over you're pushing the wrong buttons and stuff. You mean? No. It's so weird. I don't know. I'm going crazy. Everybody. Yeah, you are. Thanks Chris. All right. We got four hours tomorrow. We're hopefully going to have Mike Schultz schedule. Better way to say it schedule. Brewers are batting in the bottom of the first inning. No score. Game three. The decider in the National League wild card series. Padres, of course, moved on last night, taken out the Braves. And we got the Dodgers on Saturday. We got a whole day to talk about it tomorrow. Enjoy Thursday night football. Next again, the Falcons seems like Adam Klug made the NFL. We're not getting out now. Do you guys have one more minute? One more minute. I could tell Chris is like inching towards them. I'm a buddy. I can't say goodbye yet. Not yet. I think Adam Klug made the schedule for the primetime games this year. Yeah. Is that why Atlanta's on there again? Sunday night, Monday night, Thursday night. Yeah, they've been on a lot already. It seems like my buddy down the way Ryan and my where I live. He's a big Tampa Bay fan. So I'll be geeked up for the game. The Bucks look good. So far. They do. They look like it last week. Did they win? Two weeks ago. Two weeks ago. Yeah. The NFL season's been a little, you know, scrambling. Scrambling. Did they think last week? The Eagles. That was a whip. All right. They did have a big. Yeah. Yeah. That's right. Yeah. Baker Mayfield playing well. It's been difficult to pick games this year in the NFL. It really has. There it is. Oh, the comfort blanket. The outro music. And now you get to outro and you're not doing anything. Well, now I like to take my time. Thank my friend Tony Gwen Jr. Welcome back, Chris. All right. Thank you. Scravey football. Next, we'll see you tomorrow too on Gwen and Chris 973, the fan. Hey NFL fans, you can start the season with a big return on FanDul, America's number one sports book.
