Tony Gwen Jr. Matt Scrabby, those guys are sharing some laughs during the break. You, by the way, if you're on the video stream, you saw some great footage there of the Padre celebration in the clubhouse. So if you wanted to see what kind of some of that was all about, log on to our YouTube feed search at Gwen and Chris and YouTube or 97 through the fan. You can watch the show, watch the proceedings. We actually, with no baseball today, are headed to football this evening. We're going to have the Thursday night football game coming up in a little while between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons. That doesn't work like the Raiders. What are you talking about, the Pirates? The Falcons? Nah, you don't have the same feel. That was wow. I just got shot down from my Buccaneers horror. You should have been shot down for your falcon. Move. Did you like the Talons though? The Talons were better than your sound. You know, there was an owl in my backyard over the weekend and that thing was scary. So remember when I told you about the owl in the staircase and how they thought that they, the owl killed the woman instead of the guy? Remember that? Vaguely. Okay. I tried to put most of your stories out of my mind. But I vaguely remember that one. So we'll have football at 430. We have a full four hour show tomorrow. So make sure you join us on what I believe tomorrow is Tony Gwen Jr.'s birthday. It is tomorrow. So I made the big board yesterday. Did you see that? Oh, did you? Oh, this was amazing. I was sitting next to Annie Halbrunn and I look up at the big board. Sean Murphy's up and it says the fun facts. You know, I put the fun facts up there. It says Sean Murphy shares a birthday with Tony Gwen Jr. October 4th. I look at Annie. I go, that's the best reminder I could have ever gotten. Libra Gang right there. Yeah, yeah. Sean Murphy was on deck last night when Travis Darno popped out to end the series. For the smoothness of wrapping up a series, a catcher catching a pop-up and falling over the first baseman wasn't exactly the glory they were both calling for it. Yeah, they wanted to get it. I'm glad Hagash Yoka caught it because I don't know that Solana would have got it. Yeah, no, I think you're right. I think the other thing, thing I lost my train of thought. The collision there or no? The collision, yeah. That's what I was going to say. The collision stood out to me mainly because Robert Suarez was having a clean inning and it would have been just the last thing we needed with... Oh, an extra swing, extra swing, right? He threw the fastball when he popped it up in the air, which made Hagash Yoka trip and he fell and he dropped the ball. Right. He would have played him. I was definitely happy. He came out, had a clean one. He's back. Some of the guys who were supposed to replace them, I think Jason gave up the two run shots. Jason, don't ever do that to me again. I'm going to have to have a word with him. I probably won't get a chance to have a word with him. So Tony, when they win the World Series, have a word with him and tell him that I... You almost jinxed him? I did. I went on yesterday and I said, "There's nobody I'd feel more comfortable with on the mound than Jason Adam." Did he lose the game? No, but you didn't lose him. I didn't totally jinx him. But the tweets came flying in after that two run homer. Leave it to Twitter. Leave it to Twitter to blame me for that two run homer that Jason Adam gave up. Which are you ready first for? Mark DeRosa talking about the Padres? What's wrong, Tony? You're just getting right to it. Ah, you just... Well, we can't forget it in a second segment in a row. I'm making executive decision. Chris, which would you like to do first? Kyle Lagashyoka or Mark DeRosa on why he loves the Padres? Uh, like Mark DeRosa. All right, Mark DeRosa. From MLB Network, a manager of Team USA in the world of baseball classic, Mark DeRosa. Yes, that guy. I'm hoping that this works because I set it all up. Here we go. The Padres are completely complete. They have it all. They have it all checked. They really don't have tape. And I could argue had Arizona not walked into Citizens Bank last year and won both Game 6 and 7, I would say that's the toughest place to go into. But if the snakes can roll in there and get those W's, then I can't put them one. I almost feel like that might be the toughest environment. People argue it's... The New Yankee Stadium is not the old Yankees. Agreed? That's agreed. That place is on top of you right now. It is. It is. I want to just get a couple takeaways from last night. Certainly, I think the depth of what AJ Preller's done with his roster, you hate to see Joe Musgrove go down, but they can cover it. They're going to have seats ready for L.A. Darvish Red. He just goes on to kind of preview everything for that. So he was not only just loving the Padres, but the environment at Petco Park. I'm telling you, it's not the same as it was. And listen, it was lit during the regular season. This is just a different deal. Like, how are we at 40? Let me pull it up. 47,700. Who they got more in last night? Yeah, no. They broke it again. They broke it again. 47, 705. 47, 705. Does that count the people, by the way, in Gallagher Square? Because there's another 5,000 people out there somehow. I don't know how they all jam their way in out there. It has to. Incredible. I'll say that all 47,705 are like dialed in. It's not like that during the regular season. You might have like 15,000, 20,000 like dialed in. Everybody else just enjoying himself. Join the atmosphere at Petco because it's a great atmosphere. This is everybody like laser beam focused on the game. And it's a different, it's a different energy. I didn't see many fights either. I mean, some happen earlier up above us because, you know, I'm looking out and you start seeing everybody look up behind you and I'm like, I can't really see because the other thing. There's also smoke and I was like, there's a lot of smoke and nothing came of that. So I'm glad that there is nothing wrong. But gosh, what was I just? I just did it to myself too. I got you. I'm getting. Thank you. Boom. Standing here with Kyle. Gosh, yoga Kyle big game tonight. This team certainly needed your offense yesterday and today. Just talk a little bit about how you feeling right now. Ben, you talked a little bit about it before the game about just being a contributor to the ball club. You did that in a major way tonight. I mean, I just try to put together, you know, decent at bats and not trying to do too much of the plate, you know, I'm choking up a little bit just to make sure that I don't, I don't try to get too big but, you know, luckily and caught a couple on the barrel, but I think it's just I'm just glad to be helping the team with. With all due respect, I don't think any of this is luck after watching a full season of it. I mean, you and I talked earlier in the year. You talked a little bit about a golf adjustment that you made and it seemingly has got you locked in through the rest of the year. How have you been able to maintain that throughout the course of the season into the playoffs? Yeah, I mean, yeah, I had a few good months in the middle and then late late in the season, I was kind of struggling a little bit and I think that last series against the Dodgers, I really was able to kind of lock back in and start feeling good going into the playoffs, which is where it accounts. I think you might have had the biggest catch of the night when you saw Joe out there not looking right. He got back on that bump and was getting ready to throw another pitch. You ran out there immediately, you noticed something was going on with them. Just talk about what you saw from your standpoint that had you go out there in the first place. Yeah, I mean, this stuff started to deteriorate a little bit and it just, I can see it in his face, he was struggling. Yeah, I probably should have gone out there a pitch or two earlier, but I think we were both open. He could just get through that header and get out of the inning, but I couldn't let it go any longer. Well, you guys got another big series coming up here against Los Angeles. Can we just, you know, give some of the credit to every magical thing that's happened this season to that trade, you know, that has brought us Michael King and Higashyoka and, you know, in New York, they got him and Juan Soto did his thing. So, you know, this wasn't a one-sided thing, but I think Tony, in a lot of ways, people thought it was one-sided in the Yankees favor, like the Padres made that trade because, well, they had to. They're shedding payroll. They took whatever they could get, but they had to get rid of Juan Soto. Those people didn't understand just how good Michael King was. None of us understood how good Higashyoka was going to be. And, you know, when you throw in the fact that Dylan Cease was acquired as a result of that, you know, A.J. did okay there, better than okay. He did more than okay. You know, to be fair, the trade, the way it was set up was it had to be a wait and see for everybody. Like, it was easy to crown the Yankees, the winner of that trade initially because the big leaguers that were being exchanged, it was one-sided. You know, Juan Soto is Juan Soto. But the idea, the reason why A.J. was comfortable with it is that his part of his job and his team's job is to kind of be able to forecast the future. And they thought what they were going to see in the future. I don't know if they thought they were going to get what they got from King in terms of top five ERA pitching the amount of innings he did. Didn't miss a start that I can remember. I don't think they could have anticipated that, but they thought they were getting quality town. I have no doubt that there was a part of A.J. that knew that he might be able to flip somebody and get somebody different out there at some point, which he did for Cease. But to be fair, as I was saying, it was hard for anybody not to say the Yankees won it. But now you get through a full season of 2024. This might be the best win-win trade. I can remember in quite some time where both teams, right? The Yankees wouldn't give Soto back right now. No, they wouldn't give Soto back. So I think this is probably one of the few cases where both teams not only win, but win big. And feel good about it. And feel great about it. Yeah. That just doesn't happen very often. And the main reason is the reason you and I hate to talk about prospects so much is because they typically don't end up being equal value or better than what you gave up. The catch in this one is that Michael King wasn't necessarily a prospect at this point. He had already graduated to the big leagues along with Agashyoka. So it's been a win-win. I would say maybe the Yankees in my mind come out a little bit behind because they have to resign Juan Soto. He's a free agent and they're going to have to open the checkbook. But they knew that before they did. That was the deal. They knew that was going to happen. They wonder if they'll be able to afford them. I mean, I'm reading stuff that they are going to be able to afford them, but the ownership might not want to pay man. Here's the thing. Once players start meeting with actual owner, I think size Stein Brenner and Soto met and they were Google gogging over each other. I think the man's going to get his money. Are you sure they're Google gogging? It's like that meme of Wolverine holding a picture or whatever. That Stein Brenner holding a picture of Juan Soto. So, you know, it's win-win for both sides. No doubt about it. Just so if you, Padre fans, are wondering, I was at Yankee Stadium last Sunday as part of my, you know, trip the process around the world maybe days. A couple of things happened. A, I walked into the stadium and no more. I was only there for less than a minute. And came upon a Tony Gwyn 19 jersey, which I thought was awesome. And did you talk to that person? I did. Well, of course I did. My wife went up to him and said, oh yeah, my husband works with his son. And he was like, what? Who's this crazy lady? She was all excited to tell him, oh yeah, we know Tony Gwyn and his son and my husband works. He listened to the station. My guy was like being bombarded. He was like walking all around. I just said, can you turn around? I want to take your picture to send us, you know, back home. So, but that's funny. But they did. There was some announcement made about Juan Soto. He wasn't in the lineup that day of the final game of the season, but I did give him a boo just for my own, my own good. Tran Grisham went deep in that game. First in Tran Grisham, it's a home run. I'm like, oh my goodness, this is crazy. Yeah, so you're his good luck charm. Yeah, Trent should have me come out more often. But, you know, I couldn't help but think when I was there at Yankee Stadium that, you know, maybe we'll be back. It's a possibility. Obviously is there. We're a long way from that, but it was certainly in my mind. Padre has better make a spot on the plane for me when they make a series. I'm just telling you right now. They're not the players, all the players that pick up cool. They're like, what's up, bro? I think they all think you're cool like we do, but I don't, you know, I don't think they're not going to. They certainly are going to fight for you to get a spot on the plane. And now I believe that you don't think Fernando is going to fight for me. Yeah, I don't think so. He's like, this kid's just going to look at my abs the entire time. Even though I'm like 15 years old. Do you care to be a little more, a little reveal a little bit more about that story? What about how Tony's interviewing Fernando after the game and you're staring at the guys. I wasn't staring at his abs. I can't take you any during video of Tony's interview. And you cannot help but look at his abs. They are like, I was telling the guys before the show, because I know that I said this on radio. Like that, like I'm a guy who's never been in that sort of shape. I have wanted to be in that sort of shape. More of an admiration type deal. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, it's a more of an aberration type deal for sure. But not an aberration. Now I'm going to peel back the curtain even more and say, Tony even looked at the ads because they were right there. I mean, you know, that's just they would have what I'm interviewing. He's got a shirt off. Like I see his six pack is it's all good. Yeah, yeah, I don't. Yeah, thank you with 20 to 25. Right? 25. He's 25 years of age. Oh, yeah. That's how he's 14 years older than him. Yeah, so I mean, that's that's what life is like at 25. I will say, though, I will say that metabolism and good bodies and working out every single day. That's what it is. Being a recovery alcoholic, I had a few questions about going into the club house and they asked me how I handled it because all the champagne and the beer and everything floating around. I told someone I got a straw and I got on the floor. No, the first moment I went in there, someone was spraying champagne and hit me in the face and it got near my mouth. And so I just rubbed my mouth. Is there any sense of panic? No, no, no, because I knew what I was going into. And I had already done this in 2022. It was more nervous in 2020. Are you nervous in 2020? Because we never talked about it. No, I was nervous in 2022 because I wasn't sure. But this time I knew I was going to be fine. But for anybody out there who thinks that you can't stop drinking, you can eventually get to the point where you're walking around and getting sprayed in the face with champagne and you'll be okay. So thanks to everybody who cared enough to ask, honestly. Well done, Scrabby. We'll take a break. Check some traffic out there for you. And then a lot more going in Chris. We got a big five today. We got a Chris versus the fans. Tony and I will have our NFL pick them. It's all coming up ahead of Thursday night football, Padres and Dodgers, not until Saturday, but fun to talk about. And we'll do more of that on 97 through the. Hey NFL fans, you can start the season with a big return on Fandal, America's number one sports book. Padres enjoying an extra off day because they took care of business. Clean sweep of the Atlanta Braves. They'll phase the Los Angeles Dodgers beginning Saturday, followed by a Sunday game, off day Monday, back here at Peko Park on Tuesday. 530 Saturday and five o'clock Sunday. Why are your game times for the first two games? To be exact because you know, MLB likes weird times. Five 38. Thank you. And then five oh eight. If you're in front of your TV at five 30, you'll have an eight minutes to. I don't need. You know, I did see Carl. Well, did you know, did you know, the ultimate name dropper? I'm walking in the elevator at the end of the game and I saw Carl and I didn't even know. Okay, I did see Eduardo Perez and David Cone walking by and I asked them how the broadcast went. They mumbled something and moved on. But Carl Ravitch is not. Yeah, he's not my favorite. You know that I was. Yeah, I was hoping that he had to get assigned to the Padres series. I'm like, come on, I'm gonna listen to Tony and Jesse. Anyway, but I think we get a Joe Davis and John Smoltz. Oh, we get that one. Yes. Dodger. Well, Joe Davis is the Dodger announcer, which I think will get some people thinking that we're getting there already on. Oh, they're already on. Yes. Yeah. They don't like it. The Padres fans think we're going to get the raw end. But I've listened to Joe Davis enough to think that he's a he's a pretty good pro. I think he's going to give the Padres a fair shot. And John Smoltz doesn't care about no Dodgers payroll. He's talking baseball. First Joe Davis is going to give the Padres a fair shot. Second Joe Davis is not going to decide the outcome of any game. So just, you know, enjoy. What was I going to bring up? There was something that we had talked about. Yes. I said that there was some commotion up above me and I could last night. Yeah. One of my buddies, Tim Spooner, shout out to Tim. Uh, sent me a video of it. Apparently it's a fan who had a Dodger jersey on. Yeah. Some point during the game takes the Dodger jersey off with a Padres jersey underneath it. And I don't know if that caused people to be upset with him or no, they're cheering. They were they were excited. Yeah. Good. Good. Good. Yes. They were cheering. And I thought this was kind of funny because it's like, come on, I did see some fan Dodger fans in the stands and it's like, why? I don't understand people that come to games and wear jerseys. He's not of a team. He said he was in New York and my man at a Tony Gwen jersey on. Is that a problem with that? No. But I do when it's the Dodger fans. Like, you know what you're doing when you walk into pet co-part during the playoffs. Maybe this Dodger or this fake Dodger fan, apparently. Yeah. Uh, maybe you thought you think San Diego folks are civilized. He can come watch a game in a different Jersey and nobody's going to have anything to say. I mean, they probably won't, but you know, probably won't. Yes. In the big five, which we're going to get to here in like 10 minutes or so, the Padres have done something that will anger the Dodger fans. Boss move. Anger, but we'll get to that in a little bit. Love it. Um, where else were we going? Um, if you love Mediterranean food, Trispero's for authentic Mediterranean cuisine and corn auto or La Jolla for dining or take out options, visit spiro's cuisine.com. We were also talking last night after the game, if they had to do a game three, their bullpen was kind of not, not, no, no, the, uh, Padres, the, not, not a mess, but they had used Jason Adam two days in a row. They'd use Robert Suarez two days in a row. And they would have used him three days in a row. You think so? Yes. They got this point. You're trying to win this. This time. I just thought two days in a row is like the match for a pitcher. No, if my man, uh, listen, if, they didn't eat it, but there's still some arms out there that can get some outs. How about the Padres that, you know, you're right. You could paralt that still out there. You've got the more at home. More at home. Still out there. For sure. That's right. Brian Hoeing, by the way, again, hats off again to this guy who we acquired. And his name was barely in the press. You know what I mean? It was like, we're bringing in, who he came, he came with who I'm getting. Tanner Scott. Tanner Scott, right. Yeah. We're getting Tanner Scott and some guy named Brian Hoeing was at the bottom. And you know, I felt good about, I didn't, I didn't love Joe going out of the game. Nobody did. But I felt good with Hoeing and he gave up a home run to Solaire, but a home run, a solo shot when your head five to one is not bad pitching. You're not walking guys. You're not putting a lot of traffic on. And he, you know, gave you what he had to give you and got you to the rest of the bullpen. I felt the same way. When, when Joe came out, I didn't feel any sense of panic or man, this, oh, this is bad for, I didn't think that obviously Joe being hurt is bad. We don't want that. But in terms of who was going to come in and hold it down, I had zero concern. And that includes, you know, or Suarez in the back, back end of it. I think this team has been battle tested. They've had a myriad of different things happen to them over the course of the season. And they just keep finding ways to, to win. And so, um, I'm telling you, I got a chance to, in scrapie was in there. Did you get a chance to hear the speeches or did you come in after? No, we were all in. We're not allowed in. Oh, sorry. We're not chosen. Let's just say that's not just us. None of the media is allowed in until after that. So you were, you were kind of privy to that. I got to hear the speeches and the, the recurrent theme is that that 20, 26 men in there, they believe in each other and that keeps popping up. It was said in the, Dodger after the clinched in LA. It was said last night multiple times. They are, are, and even, even after they won game one of that series, they came in. It was like all business. There wasn't too many cell, there wasn't celebrating at all. It was just like a normal regular season victory for them. And to me, that tells me this team is really dialed into what they're trying to accomplish this. Tony, what are you going to do if you're the manager or, you know, just thinking this through now to, because I don't think much grows going to pitch in the Dodger series. I don't think so either. So it sees has already been named for game one. They haven't named game two yet or game three, but I believe that's got to be Darvish and Michael King or if you want to go the other way around, but that's game two. What are you going to do for game four? Is it Martine Perez taking Musgrove spot? You Darvish set for game two. Oh, it is Darvish now in game two. Yeah. Okay. I didn't know that was set. Thank you. So King will pitch here in game three. Perez in game four. Again, I, I feel comfortable if that's what they do. Yeah. I don't know what else they would do. He's the next guy up and look, I mean, Hassan Kim didn't make it. So it's the next guy up and Solano's in there and he's a threat. So and Bogart's goes to short and he can play it. So it's one of the beauties of this team. They've got the depth and you like to call it length, but it's, it's working for them right now. And, uh, Annie had a good line today, but on the, on the round table, look, the potter is going to be that Joe Musgrove in the next series. The Dodgers are going to be like, what? You're missing one pitcher. The Dodgers are missing like nine pitchers. So, you know, we're going to take, try to take advantage of it. The, the, the length is, is about the lineup, right? I mean, you getting down to your number on nine hitter and there, there aren't any, or any, like, breaths. You can't take a deep breath, you know, because a gosh, Joe can get you, Solano can get you at the eight spot or crone and worth. However, it's seven, eight, nine. So there's length in that lineup, but there is also depth, as you mentioned, Chris. I mean, and that's really been on display from the first two times that you, Darvish and Joe were out. The depth came into play there. It came into play when Tottie goes down, came into play when Bogey went down. I mean, when Jerrickson was dealing with the Bocke knee there for a second and he had to sit out a little bit. Like this has been what the Padres have, have exemplified all year long. And I don't see it changing just because, you know, Joe goes down. I think somebody will step into the fold. And as, as you said, my guess is it'll be Martin Perez and they'll go from there. They'll, they'll, they'll let it all, they'll let it all hang out again. All right. Let's just say that, uh, we will root against Martin Perez pitching though in the next series. Because that would mean Joe's healthy. No, that would mean that we went in three. I like that. I mean, this is basically the same exact situation they had 2022. They have to, they have to play two games in LA, then they come home for two. They lost the first one. 2022. They won the next three. Yeah. And Manny Machado said, or, Big Poppy said, now what to Manny Machado kind of thing. And Manny Machado popped back to the next night. He was like, this is what we're winning. That's what we're doing. It was great. It was great. All right. Let's, uh, get to break on the other side. We've got the big five more going to Chris on the other side. Hi, Chris. Hello, Tony going to Mr. Scrabie. All of us, uh, enjoying a Thursday and an afternoon off for the Padres tomorrow. They'll also be off. Uh, but we'll be on two to six full four hours tomorrow. Mike Schilt, manager of the Padres is scheduled to join us tomorrow. Did you tell me I couldn't say that like seven times, Tony, were you were here for that? I thought you said it was fine. I said that. I did not say that. He just announced that Mike Schilt is scheduled on the show and Tony has been here every time I've said, please don't say it. Sorry about that. He's scheduled, but we just don't have a full commitment. Chris, what is wrong with you? Scheduled means that, you know, scheduled. Okay, he's scheduled. It doesn't mean he's, I didn't guarantee his appearance. Yeah. But now if he doesn't come on, everybody's gonna be like, why didn't he come on? Well, that's up to them to worry about. I mean, he's got, he's got workouts tomorrow. I know he's got a lot to do. Hope fire. Let's, we're hopeful. There we go. Oh, apparently Ben Hagen said he was going to be on our show too. So catch the bag. Boom. Sorry. I will apologize. Yeah. It's great. We apologize to the man. I just did. Speaking of Ben, he and Woodsy will be broadcasting live Saturday. Yeah. Al Smith and Miramar, Ben and Woods broadcast from 230 to 430 ahead of Sam Levitt's pregame show. Gets you ready for game one, Padres and Dodgers, Al Smith, 394 pale ale, the official rally pint of the playoffs. You can watch all of the Padres, postseason action at Al Smith, tasting room in Miramar, game day specials on 394 and more root for the hometown team with other fans while enjoying the game was sound. That's Saturday, 230 to 430 at Al Smith in Miramar ahead of Sam Levitt's pregame show. All right. Scrabie, let's check some traffic. And then before I delay and get dramatic me again, we'll get a big five going here. It's that time of the show. When we check on the latest in sports, only the most important topics and questions are brought to light. Stop what you're doing and listen. These news stories will astound and amaze you. The one, the only. Oh my god, who the hell? Cash. The big five starts now on 97 three, the fan. And guess what, guys, the big five now has a sponsor everybody. Hey, hey, yeah. Big five. So they're five moving on up and more big five is brought brought to you by I'm going to read the stinking sponsor the first time and I mess it up. This is very on brand for the big five. The big five is brought to you by Summit Subaru of El Cajon. See all the ways to save right now at Summit Subaru dot com. All right, let's get into it. Number five, read it like that again. They're going to stop their sponsors. I know it might be over before it even started. Thank you, Summit Subaru. Now the Padres have I would like to say this first. The Padres have received what's the word I'm looking for? 50 million fans have attended games at Petco Park since it opened. Bernie Wilson tweeted that a little bit earlier. That's pretty impressive, I guess. 55 0 50 million in the history of Petco Park have passed through the gates to watch a game. So that's been accelerated the last three years three million three points something million this year. It's been accelerated a lot, but the Padres have officially put restrictions on who can buy NLDs tickets and basically what they're doing is they're trying to block out people from Los Angeles in that area from buying tickets. Dodgers fans are not happy at all, but I think Padres fans love this move. The Dodgers fans on Twitter, they're like I wish San Diego is just so in their own head. I wish you had the sounder of Steven A. Smith saying, we don't care. We don't we don't care. We don't need his sounder. We have you to say it just as well. Last time I checked the San Diego Padres are a private business and they can restrict tickets to whoever they want to based on the living area because they want their fans to be in the stadium. So Tony, I think I know your answer, but do you think it's lame the Padres? No, okay, we don't need you. We we don't care. Yeah, I'm just saying this is a playoff game. And I don't mind that in the playoffs, you restrict some of your team. And by the way, this will be done by credit card. If your credit card is in in Los Angeles area, the billing address, billing address, forget it. Forget it. Forget about it. So if you're a Dodger fan living here in San Diego, you're good. Going to be able to buy tickets. You're good. I can't stop you from doing that. What about the people that buy tickets from elsewhere and then they transfer those tickets to LA fans? I think you could. That's going to happen. Yeah, that's going to happen. You can't but you know what? Look, when we the thing we all remember, there's two things I remember about the game for of the playoff. Well, two years ago was a the rain and the celebration, but b there was very little blue in the stadium. Yeah, for that. For the first one, the first times I can remember it being so like not noticing Dodger like, man, there's like none in here. There was some don't get me wrong. Chris, you have anything to say about this? Uh, gree. Uh, okay. Whatever Stephen Ace Smith said. We don't care. There you go. I'm looking for it. Oh, here it is. I found Oh, here. Let me turn down the music. I'm here to tell you right now. We don't care. I'm going to have to get that side as good as yours was Tony. His was better. I got to say, yeah, Tony's is pretty good. He's good. Um, one day after the Baltimore Orioles were swept by the Royals in the wildcard series, the Orioles general manager Michael Elias confirmed to reporters that manager Brandon Hyde is going to return for the 2025 season. The news isn't surprising, but following a second straight early exit from the postseason, some were thinking he may be let go, but he has the general manager that is has put any speculation to rest. The Orioles were the one seed in the AL last season and were swept in three games by the Rangers who went on to win the World Series. This year they didn't win a game. So he's 0 and 5 Brandon Hyde in postseason games in the last two seasons. Chris, is this the right move to bring him back? Uh, absolutely. He's doing a tremendous job and the Orioles are still on the build. Uh, they've hit this hiccup, but sports, uh, is littered with stories of franchises that can't win the big one, can't win in the playoffs. Guys that, you know, these guys are chokers. They never can do it. And then until they do it. And then all of a sudden they're the world champs and everybody goes, Oh, the Orioles. Yeah, we should have seen it coming. I think Brandon Hyde's doing a fine job. Oh, for five is going to, you know, keep him up at nights. But I think the Orioles would be silly to change course right now. Do you say fillies? Never mind. No, sorry about that. I had a brain malfunction. Tony, is this the right move to bring that? Can you trade that? I had a, can you tape that? I had a brain malfunction. Put that in with all of your other ones. Sure. I don't know what happened to my, what was the one thing? No, we can't even bring it up, Chris. We can't. What is with you bringing up something we're not supposed to talk about on the radio. I think I assume you're asking me the same question. Yes. This is the right move to bring Brandon. Absolutely. Brandon Hyde's done a terrific job on the team in it. It's a, it's a young team with virtually no experience in the postseason except the experience that they all got for the first time last year. And so, you know, I think this is part of the kind of bumps and bruises you gotta have before you get over to hunt. It's very rare that you're in a Derek Jeter situation when you walk into the big league club and you just are winning just every year. That, that just doesn't happen. Phil Jackson kept losing to the Pistons. Right. It's, we're pretty smart to stay with them. It's a, it's a kind of part of the deal. So yeah, I think, I think Brandon Hyde deserved to stay for sure. All right. Number three, Buster Posey is the new president of baseball operations for the San Francisco Giants. Did I not call that before I left? I think did you? I called it too. All right, we all called it done. No, no, you know, I thought, no, the day we had the story about car had whatever messing up and what are you still here for? Yeah, I think we both talked about it. Yeah, we both said that they ought to just make but put Buster Posey in charge. And they did. I figured that was what's going to happen. I mean, the guy is a Giants legend. Anyway, he's now the president of baseball operations and former giant JT Snow asked Posey to hire him on KMBR, the San Francisco radio station. But he also talked about Blake Snell JT Snow did and said, quote, I wouldn't sign him. I would spend that money and go get a couple other pictures that maybe could take me into the sixth and seventh inning. I had a problem with him on Saturday, not taking the ball and I get it. He doesn't want to get injured. You're not going to get injured. Go throw, go show the fans and appreciate the fans and throw three or four innings and then get out of the game. That's an end quote from JT Snow. Tony, I've been waiting all week to talk about this. I know your answer. Should Blake Snell have started his game on Saturday? I mean, from his standpoint, I understand why he didn't. As a team, you know, this kind of falls in the same line as Josh Hader. You know what I'm saying? Like, as a teammate, it's tough to respect. You know what I'm saying? Guys will get over. It's not like it's going to they're going to move on because it'll be a new season next year and they'll have a chance to maybe kind of come at that in a different way. Although he did say that he would have pitched. Had it been who were they playing? They were playing the Cardinals. Had the game had some type of implication. He said he would have pitched. He did. But thank you, play. What? Sorry, never said he's listening to his feelings about it. Yes. Yes. I think I think he probably should have taken the ball, but I understand why he didn't. Team game didn't mean anything. He's about to enter free agency after a disappointing one last year. So I get it. But I also get where JT Smith, JT Snow is coming from. Chris, I'd like to see them pitch. Yeah. I mean, I love Blake. And I hope that he somehow winds and finds and zigs and zags and is way back here because he was a lot of fun to be around. He's a hell of a pitcher. But I think if he had to do it, I think he's going to look back maybe one day and say, you know, I probably should have just pitched that game. All right, JT Snow is like, I've never heard someone lobby for a job on the air before, but he did lobby for a job. I mean, they kind of sort of crossed paths like JT Snow was obviously a player before Buster. But I read this whole thing. It's going to be interesting how they put his radio up there. Is that what he's doing? No, he was just on one of the shows. Oh, okay. Yeah. I guess he's out in Oakland. Okay. Yeah. But he thinks that Buster Posey has the right idea of looking with their eyeballs and not with analytics. So they're going to go back to the Giants. I don't know. I don't know if JT's going to get a job. If he got that mindset, you got to be able to do both in today's game. That's true. That's true. All right. Number two, the Astros were eliminated from the postseason yesterday. This will be the first time in seven seasons, the Astros are in eight seasons. I'm sorry. The Astros will not be in the ALCS. Jose Altuve hugged Alex Bregman in the aftermath of the sudden elimination and assured his longtime teammate, who is a pretending free agent, quote, you're coming back. We're not going to be the same organization without him, talking about Bregman. In my mind, there's not a chance this is the last one. Chris, should the Astros bring Bregman back? Not because of what he's done for them, even though you'd like in a perfect world that to be the case where you say, hey, you've been so great for us for all these years. You know, even though we think we can do better, we have a younger player, we're going to just go ahead and give you another 30 million because you're a hell of a dude. That's not how it works. So should they bring him back if that's what they deem is the best for them? That's got to be my answer. All right. I think Jose Altuve is telling them what's best for them. Well, he is. And by the way, when they hugged Bregman crushed by the face microphone, don't take my shirt off. Don't take my shirt off. Tony, do you think the Astros need to bring Bregman back? Yes, they do. If you know, this is one of those, you know, Astros had lost somebody seemingly every year in free agency for a little bit, Springer, Cole. They lost Verlander briefly, he came back like they've been there. They've been chipping a korea. They've been chipping away at this dynasty. I think this one would be the one that breaks the camel's back, so to speak. Losing Bregman who is him and it's him and Altuve at this point that have been the dudes there from the beginning of this. I think this would be the move that finally breaks the Astros. They got tremendous pitching, but he's certainly a part of the fabric and why they're as good as they are. It's difficult to replace them. I think they got to bring him back, but I don't think they will. A lot of the Astros blogs don't think so either because he's going to command a lot of money. Number one. All right. So I had a friend text me this story and they wanted your guy's opinion. I thought it was hilarious. They were walking their dog, my friend, which is a 50 pound rescue night. Very sweet dog. I've met this dog before, just extremely skittish being a rescue. So they were walking in a Halloween decoration cat thing popped out of a hat and the dog got so scared they attacked the Halloween decoration and popped it because it was one of those like air filled ones. So he went to the front door, but no one was home. He was going to like say, Hey, my dog attacked your cat. That's popping out of a hat over here. And so he left and he hasn't gone back. This was like two days ago. So he wants to know, Tony, does he need to go back to the house and offer to pay for this cat in the hat? Does he need to need to? Is he get bad karma? Yes, it depends on the type of individual this said person is your buddy. They went once and they haven't been there. They went once because they were there already. Yeah, they didn't really use a lot extra. It was there. Yeah, I can tell you that this person doesn't want to pay for this thing. So they probably don't want to go back and say no, but they will. No, it's not me. Are you sure? I would tell you if it was me. Just doesn't mean you said that you said you think they will go back a second time, but they don't want to pay. I think they will go back a second time because that like me, it's not me. They are afraid of karma. It's good. They should go back. Chris was leaving a note of possibility the first time around. Yeah, I'm sure it was, but he didn't. Well, it's not always a possibility, because who walks around with a pet? No, that is a great point, Chris. I didn't even think about that. Let me just pull up my pad of paper. My quick dog walking paper. All right, that's it for the Big Five. Chris, where's the fans next?
