It's hour number one of the G-back nation on a back-to-work Wednesday for the Cowboys. It's a Rangers game day here on your home of the champs. General at your service. Brought us sitting right there, former Cowboys scout NFL executive. He has a crusties corner coming up at 3.40. Gonna take a look at that Ravens offense for us, buddy. Thank you so much for doing that. - Yeah. - Lucius Alexander to the Pimp Cup over there, Master Control. Yeah, Volchuck and Chia, follow of course, and Carter Freeman to coordinate in your video, and along with you, we are the G-back nation here on 105-3, the fan. How the heck you guys doing today? - Doing awesome. - Great day. - Great to be here. - Great day. - It is a great day. It's a great day. We gotta go one and O today. It's about having that type of mentality, gotta win the day, brought us, and I know you came in here with that look and you're high, and so I'm pretty fired up about what you're gonna be bringing to the day. - I'm really sad that we lost Woz today and RIP. What are we doing? - You think ESPN's doing like eulogies for Woz right now? - We've got every information guy up there. By the way, my man, Shomps is throwing a potty right now. - Yeah, it's a one man show now. - Not to get the bag, no competition. - He's the athletic. I heard the athletic is his contracts up over there. Do I hear a bidding war? - Yeah. - Yeah, he's about to bag out. - This is incredible though. So this is Adrian Wojnarowski, one of the greatest of all time news breakers in the NBA and all of sport, really. - All time bomb dropper. - A Saint Bonaventure alumni strong relationship to the program. He has been a fundraiser for the school's collective in recent years, a 1991 graduate, and he's gonna become the general manager of the Saint Bonaventure's basketball team. - Are they the Bonnie's? What are we? - I believe so. - We called the Bonnie's, the Saint Bonaventure Bonnie's. - That's their name. - What would make you think that a journalist-- - If they're not, they should be. - What would make you think that a breaking news guy could like help you identify the right basketball players, the right coaches? - Do you think-- - He's just a good writer that calls agents. - Do you think that maybe he's got a relationship with guys and gals that kind of know how to evaluate players? - That maybe he could say, hey, here's a list of guys I'm looking at, or coaches I'm looking at. - I hear one of them to be your GM. - I remember hearing about this shoe guy, Nico Harrison, what the hell did he know? - It's working out for the Mavericks. Maybe they're on to something here with Woj. Maybe we end up getting shoms as a GM in a couple of years. - You know, you're speaking my language if we want to pretend like media members have what it takes to step into a front office of a real sports team, I believe in myself. You know, that's the pro game though. The college, this is weird, I think it's a different beast. - I think it's that they like him, they respect him and they don't have anybody else better that would take the job. So they're like, let's take Woj. Maybe his like-- - This Woj pseudo-celebrity amongst NBA fans will make him an effective college basketball administrator. - Can we leave like a four million dollar year job to be a $250,000 year guy? I mean, I'm sorry, I'm hot watching here a little bit, but I don't know how much money he makes at the NBA. - Like the two on four six in job two demanding. Like the quality of life for the shifters and the Woj's kind of seems horrible. I mean, you've got to just be living in like constant anxiety that you're going to get scooped on a story. Like I wouldn't be able to sleep. Next thing you know, something breaks at 2 a.m. You've got to be ready to go on the call. - Seven million a year at ESPN and he had three years left on his deal. So he's punting on, you know, 20 million or so. - Okay, let me say this about these information, dudes. They got to the point now where they used to have to be right. Now they don't have to be right all the time. - We can fake it 'til we make it now. - Well, I don't know if it's fake in it, but you know, there's a little bit more in this. Back in the day, if you said something and it was wrong, that's stuck with you. - Yeah. - Some of these guys that are wrong or gals that are wrong, we kind of in the next new cycle, it's gone. - You can just keep a job like that. - You can kind of keep being wrong, you know? - Well, I mean, if that makes sense? - If the job for those reasons that you guys described is so demanding that it's stressful and now he gets to go do something passionate that he's passionate about and at what seven million a year it's possible he has accumulated so much wealth that he doesn't have to worry about, you know, any sort of income or anything. I guess it could make a lot of sense, you know, if you are going to have a lot more fun hanging around your favorite college basketball program, but it's got to be a massive pay cut. - Yeah, absolutely. - Yeah, I'm again, I sound like I am watching this. I am watching this pocket a little bit there, but that has to be like, and maybe you're right there, Willie, that it's such pressure that I don't want to deal with. But when you're so good at it, when it's kind of a machine, right? Like I know to talk to these guys, we had Mark Clarith on yesterday, stink. And he was talking-- - Stinky. - He was talking about like he likes to meet with people and he's now got a roll of decks of coaches and GMs and stuff that he can call. - I don't think Woj is much of a people person that way. You know what I'm saying? It just doesn't strike me as such. - I kind of feel like that though he's got a, what's the benefit? I was listening to Sean and RJ and Bobby talk this morning and what's the benefit of a team given Woj information? What's their benefit? - Because he makes them look good in scenarios where maybe they're, you know, things are weird with a particular organization. But Woj will be the guy reporting like, "No, hey, this team has the right infrastructure. You know, he can help sell the narrative for teams when they're having a dumpster fire situation going on." - So by helping Woj-- - He can spin all their narratives. - It's been positive spin for that organization. - I don't know, man, 'cause to me that's, I always just wonder what the, what the benefit was for somebody like that to be putting your stuff out? - Oh, it's not like you scratch my back, I scratch yours. - Totally. - Yeah. - He's probably helping, he's giving information to teams about other teams. - Yeah, and I know he sees a lot of agents a lot over there. - Well, that's a dangerous thing, man. You do not wanna be the guy or gal that's talking to a team and then you're telling their business to somebody else. - Is his background though, college basketball? Like, didn't he start off with that? - I don't know. - I think it is, 'cause I know he was like super tight with Dan Hurley. He was like on the ground floor with Hurley and his development. He was friends with like Dan Hurley's dad. So he might have, like his passion really is, I think college basketball, I think that's his fallback. - Well, we will no longer have Wojbombs. I'm sure somebody else will step up to fill the void. As long as we're starting with basketball, have you seen Luca Dancic has his cereal here, the Luca O's? - Yeah, man. - That's awesome. - Pretty, pretty, I mean, this is, this is, I mean, Luca's living out Walchucks Dream right now, let's just be real about it. He has his own, the Kelsey's are doing this as well. - Mixed bowls, so like being it, yeah, and they're doing the mixed bowls, but just having your own brand of cereal, it's like you're not even doing the Wheaties thing. It's like, I don't even need Wheaties to get my face on this. This is my own, I am now Wheaties, you know? - How we get this, is it available now? - I think they're just at the arena and the team shops. I don't think they're available at local grocers yet, but I would make that move if I was a local grocer. - So I could pick up a jersey and get a box of cereal, is that what you're saying? - Yeah, and I think the little toy at the bottom, the little surprise at the bottom is a heater, you know? - By the way, yeah, yeah, you get a heater at the top. - I make it fun of that, but the best restaurant in the world is in a soccer stadium, Denmark. The number one rated restaurant in the world is actually in a soccer stadium. - That's delicious. - What are they serving up over there? - Oh, it's stuff, it's all, it's the floury, no, but it's actually-- - It's Germany, right? - Yeah, it's Denmark. - Oh, Denmark. - Yeah, is that Danes? - In other words, it's where Derek's from. - There's a lot of ways to say that. - But anyway, yeah, it's funny 'cause we're laughing about, I was making a joke about cereal being at the gift shop, pro shop, the greatest restaurant in the world, and the number one ranked restaurant in the world is in a soccer stadium. - And jokes aside, when I saw this, I looked up the nutritional facts, and it's fortified with hops and multibarly liquid cereal. - It's a beer cereal. - Yeah, you're ready to rock there. What do you make of the topic of clay Thompson as a starter, as the season approaches? Let's get in a little bit of maps, talk. Do you think he's gonna be an actual starter? I don't. I think maybe at the start of the year, but after a while they're gonna be like, "Wow, our defense really sucks. "We gotta get one of these young guys in here." - Yeah, I think I'm with you. The start of the season, he's going to be starting. I saw CBS Sports put out their top 100. I think clay Thompson was 98 on the list. He just barely cracked in the top 100. - We're gonna go clay. - Congrats. - I think the Mavericks that made it. But yeah, I think if he turns out to be a liability, and we've seen Jason Kidd loves to mix and match his lineups throughout this season, I don't know. And they supposedly gave him that guarantee. That's what we heard, but I don't know that they just leave him in there. If it is something that's like, "Man, this is hurting the team." If your defense is really as bad. - Yeah, and I think a lot of it too is how much of his offense is outweighing the poor defensively. Let's not forget how much they were missing guys who could knock down shots when it mattered most in the finals, right? So to me, that is what they were like, "Hey, we will sacrifice a little bit of defense for guys who can knock it down." And so hopefully clay is still a knock it down guy. So he is able to make up for the fact that he's no longer an ace defender for a defense. But like you said, Walchuck, you do have Jason Kidd who's willing to move things around, and you have some other guys that you can throw in there. So, you know, Naji Marshall being the first one that you imagine, okay, you can throw him in there and then Clay coming off the bench and Clay did some of that with Golden State last year. So he's been in that role before. I think you have options here, but hopefully Clay is good enough offensively to where it makes up for the fact that, yeah, he's probably gonna be a little bit more of a liability than anything potentially. - I look at it between, yeah, him, Luca, Kyrie. I want two or those three on the court at all times. And if we're down the 15, fourth quarter, we're putting all three of them out there trying to spread the hell out of the floor and, you know, make her run. - And I trust Jason Kidd to configure the right way to rotate that. - Yeah, yeah. And we get so caught up into who's starting, but it's really who's finishing these games, you know? And that is totally case by case, night by night. What do you need in that moment? And so I think they've built it in a way to where you have options here. You're not gonna be pigeonholed and you're just having to lean on Clay Thompson when he's getting blown by in a situation where you need some defense. Boom, here's Naji Marshall. - Cannot wait to be talking. Mabs here with you throughout the season. I think to have a chance to really light it up early and go on a great run. Well, the Cowboys still favored here against the Ravens. Baltimore's favored by a point and a half now here on ESPN. I see the betters have done the right thing here. It seemed like a gift with the Cowboys favor. Just, you know, we're heading for one and two here. You know, this, this, this, Brian's gonna tell you, you know, but I guess there's a chance if you can score, right? The Ravens defense isn't great. But I think you're going up against a team that's going to be physical and run the hell out of the football. I can't imagine the Cowboys will have any sort of answer for Lamar Jackson midweek here. That's my thought. Am I too pessimistic? What do you say? - No, I don't think you're being too pessimistic. I think they've got to prove it. And now you're dealing with Mazzi's left, Jordan Phillips is on IR. You're bringing back. - Mazzi has walked in by the way. I'm sorry. - Back tightness. - Yes, that's not a great sign. At least Jake Ferguson's back practicing. You're going to have, to me, this is about like, what can the Cowboys' offense do? You're going to need to be able to put up points on the right side of that offensive line last week against the Raiders. Looks like they got exposed a little bit. Maybe the pass rush is a little bit better. But if I'm Baltimore, it's like I'm lining up and running, right? And until you prove you can stop it. So I'm very, very nervous. And Baltimore's desperate. I think I'm leaning it a one and two star, but then luckily you've got to get right game against the Giants just a few days later. - Yeah. - You got to get the game against the Giants, get you back to two and two. And everything's not going to be lost. You're sitting at one and two. And who knows? But we need to see this Cowboys offense go execute now. We're starting to come up with what three games in a row. And you know, the narrative will shift from the number one scoring offense last year to what really is this offense? Is it average? Is it below average? You know, the Ravens have given up points in their two games. And if you can't score against them, at least in the mid twenties. You know, I think maybe the buzzards might start circling around this, around this season at, you know, at that point. All righty. What else you got on that chief? - Well, I don't have anything on that, but we do have to address one thing. Looks like we got, we got sacked. Oh, what happened? - On the Luca Loops. - Oh, no. - I don't know. - I wanted it so bad. - Oh, no. - Yeah, I wanted that to be such a true report there, but no. - Awesome. - They didn't, they sacked. - Yeah, hey, listen, it happens to the best of us. - I didn't think I could get, get that anymore. We're the idiots, not you. You're supposed to be able to control this. - We try not to perpetuate ball sacks here in the g-bag nation, but from time to time, we step in those booby traps. And, and this one was disguised well from Lee Gone Hoop, not Legion Hoops. - Oh, the League on has got us. - But they threw in the breaking. I mean, they painted the perfect picture that it doesn't even look like an AI cereal box. That thing looks straight out of one mark. - They saw a trusted maps accounts of mine that were sharing this. - Yeah, so it was her at Dallas Mavs PR. - So it was like they were really set in the table there for guys like us to get set. - Yeah, the ball sack is getting better every day. - Nice job, guys. - Yeah. - So what's the win there? You get the engagement, you get a check from Twitter. That's what that game's all about. - Yeah, and I think a lot of people play for the love of the game there as well. - Absolutely. - Just knowing that somewhere out there, a guy like Dawson is going to be spouting something into a microphone that's- - You can't count on that, my God. - Somewhere that guy's tiger fist pumping right now. Rangers winners last night, 13 to eight Bradford against Francis tonight, of Aldi was bad. Okay, Thursday's game, you're going to get rocker though, and Friday against the Mariners, you have to go on. So we'll live it up. Speaking of just playing for the love of the game right now, it's all the Rangers have to look forward to and we're going to enjoy it while we can. - Trying to get back to 500. - Hey, there's still the champs. Till further notice. Okay, we'll check where are we going next before the G bag of the day. - Yeah, let's evaluate some of the surprise trends in the NFL through two weeks. Donate today cars for kids. Dot org, here's we'll check. Some sports. - Thank you very much, General. We do have a fun piece on the athletic evaluating, or ESPN, excuse me, evaluating surprise trends for every team or these real or not. We'll focus on the Cowboys, the Ravens, and the rest of the NFCs. But the Cowboys trend is one we actually discussed yesterday. And the early surprise is the Cowboys offense is just not generating many big plays. And Todd Archer wrote about besides CD Lamb, who's providing them through two games. Lamb has two of the Cowboys, four plays of 20 yards or more. He has two of the three runs of 10 yards or more produced by the offense. And explosive plays, as we know, can lead to quick points. And they've had three drives of 10 plays or more this year. And that's something that they're going to have to correct. Now, maybe Baltimore is a team that can help open this up. Because Baltimore, surprise early in the season, is they ranked last, dead last, and passing defense. They have allowed the most passing yards in the NFL with 514 through two weeks. That is a major surprise considering, this is essentially the same secondary that finished sixth against the past last season. They've got all pro safety Kyle Hamilton. And John Harbaugh said, I think the secondary overalls on track, but we just haven't been playing consistent. So this could be maybe a get right game for CD lamb, Jake Ferguson, hopefully, trending towards playing was at practice today. Maybe you get Brandon Cooks going, can Tolbert carry over the momentum. But you've got a team that is not generating big plays in the Cowboys and the team that's given up the most passing yards in the sport in the Ravens through two weeks. Yeah, I mean, that's it. That would be just what the doctor ordered, man. That's what you want. And hopefully they'll be able to. Because I think part of the problem when you're playing the Ravens is they're going to, they're going to try and make you one dimensional. They've been stopping like running backs aren't really getting going versus these guys. So you're going to throw in the ball on them. Yeah, that's one of those things that like, man, they're playing damn good run defense. Why do you need to, why run the ball? If Gardner Menchoo could be 30 for 38 in a game. Yeah, sometimes you get that weird stat like, you know, and I need to, I am going to watch them tonight, but I'm interested to see if it's really, they're stopping teams or it's not worth it trying to run the ball against them. Right. I think the rescue temps matters, right? Because sometimes you get in these modes where it just, it's like, man, we can make seven, eight yards a shot throwing the ball in these cats. Let's do it. Why run it, you know? Yeah, well, especially when they're averaging the running backs under three yards per carry on. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean, they're they're one of the number is on that. I mean, the number of carries, the number of passes. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, you had the, the, the, the Raiders were playing from behind majority of that game there. So they were probably throwing the heck out of the ball. I know Gardner Menchoo threw for plenty of yards. So, I mean, you played against Pat Mahomes and then you played with a lead. And so how much of the, were you giving up plays in the passing game? Cause you're up by double digits with like less than a quarter to go and you're giving crap up that maybe you wouldn't. I don't know. But you're not, I don't think you're going to be able to run on these dudes. And now all of a sudden you're asking that to again, bail you out of probably plenty of certain long situations. And I don't trust anybody other than CD land, hopefully Ferguson's playing. Aren't these good secondary players though? I mean, looking at- Yeah, that's what's so surprising about it. Well, it's a transitional year for the Ravens defense. They've lost a ton. They lost their defensive coordinator. They lost their defensive line coach. They probably lost plenty of other coaches. And then, you know, they've lost a couple of players as well. It's a first year defensive coordinator in Zachor who is a local guy from DeSoto and the University, North Texas, former linebacker of theirs. Ponents are 50 for 66. Throw in the ball against these guys for 514 yards. Yeah. They've rushed- They've been the worst passing defense. Yeah, 37 rushing attempts total for 99 yards. So 66 passes to 37 runs. Right. Yeah. That's where you're at right now. I mean, hey, that's your strategy for the Cowboys. Right now you're struggling to run the football anyway. So that's a benefit to you. If I was the Ravens, then the Cowboys can think about this too. If I was playing the Ravens, I would play as heavy a box as you can play in that football game and dare this. And we'll talk about that at 340 today. Yeah, and if I was the Ravens, I would have the lightest box possible. I would play, I would play, yeah. I would play dime the whole game and dare you to run the ball. Ideally, if you're the Cowboys, I'm Darren Lamar to beat me with his arm. I think that's the biggest difference. I'm Darren, the Cowboys to run the ball. I think that might be the difference in this year's Cowboys compared to the last three years is the running game has become so atrocious that even the worst coaches who aren't paying attention and stuck in their ways will be like, holy crap, we don't have to do anything to stop this run game. All we have to do is worry about the pass. And as that, you know, I, I believe it's probably going viral around coaching offices right now. It's going to put Dak in probably the worst situation he's ever faced in his career with only CD lamb fighting for him. I know Jake Ferguson is back, but he's got to show it to me now. The rest of the divisions also, at least two of your divisional opponents struggling on defense. The early surprise for the Giants is just how bad they've been against the run. They're allowing 163 rushing yards per game. That's bottom 10 in the league. Coach Dave Ball saying that's fundamental tackling and discipline gap control. Shane Bowen, their new defensive coordinator, not happy about it. They've got Dexter Lawrence. Of course, along that defensive line last year, they were pretty decent along that front, but they can't stop the run. Eagles can't generate a pass rush. They make the trade for Bryce Huff. They give up a son Redick. They give Huff a big time deal. They've drafted Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter. Jalen Carter right now has actually generated more pressures than Bryce Huff, who is the pass rushing specialist that they traded for and gave the three or $51 million deal. So that was a storyline Monday night. You know, you need to generate a pass rush. You're not able to do so. Kirk Co chains goes ahead and picks you apart week one. We saw it with Jordan Love and the Packers. I wasn't really blown away by their defense either. She got the Giants. You can't stop the run yet. The Eagles, you can't rush the passer. And then for the commanders, the early surprises, you got these old dudes, Austin Echler and Zach Kurtz coming in here, and they've actually been pretty productive. He got Earths who's adding 90 yards receiving out Echler, who's getting 99 yards receiving last week. And they've been more effective than Terry McLaurin, who should be their number one offensive weapon right now through two games. I mean, for as bad as it is around the Cowboys, there's still a good chance of winning the division somehow. I don't know what the winning team's going to have. Is it nine wins? I mean, we said before the season, the winner of this division has at most probably 10 wins. We were down on the Cowboys and on the Eagles. And then not giving the Giants or commanders much of a chance. I mean, the Eagles also can't stop the run. I mean, nobody in the division can. Eagles are giving up six and a half yards a carry. Giants over five yards a carry. Cowboys 4.9 and then commanders 4.6. But yeah, the Eagles right now can't stop the run and they can't generate pressure. That's bad with four. So, I mean, it'll be tough sledding there for Dick Vangio and company. - Thank you, Wolchuck. - Thank you. Time now for the G bag of the day. Into the Pimp Cup. Here's Lucius. (upbeat music) - Yes, sir, yes, sir, yes, sir. All right, G bag of the day right here. This is day two for our guy. Two icy juice cuz. Two icy juice cuz. That's two ice in that icy right there. Double dose of icy. Three ice. Two z's, two on that cuz cuz. - I was gonna ask you. - Man, come on now. College football darty, pick your biscuit and prepare yourselves for an SEC revenge game next year in the nation. - Yeah buddy, welcome back. It's the G back nation here on 1053, the fan and NFL news today is coming up at three o'clock. Here's the chief. - Yes, sir, thank you very much. Welcome to your college football darty here in the G back nation. Now we have a handful of things to address here. I've been introduced to someone in the world of college football that I'm pretty fired up to watch against old Carter's team on Saturday. We got ourselves a big one. I saw our guy Danny Canell letting everyone know that the strength of schedule to this point, you have teams like Ohio State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Utah and Oklahoma, who are all top 15 teams, but have nothing in the way of strength of schedule to this point. Tennessee, 122nd in strength of schedule to this point, Oklahoma is 100th. So now you're finally gonna get to see them each play a respectable opponent, Tennessee and Oklahoma. This is going to be very, very exciting. And there's lots of reasons why, but you have Josh Heipel, the head coach for Tennessee who was a quarterback at OU. You want an additional championship there, yup. Dang right, he's an OU legend. And then he was the play caller there for some years under Bob Stoops before being bleep canned. And now a decade later, he returns with a vengeance. And this is, for the first time, since the firing, he's gonna return to Norman. And that's again where he's a Sooners legend, but he's going to take these volunteers to Norman for OU's, I mean, this is their first conference game as a member of the SEC. - It is. - This is historical. We're about to find out about Carter Freeman's Oklahoma Sooners. And I know Carter knows this, but over the next two months, they've got eight games, including five top seven match ups. You've got Tennessee starting this week. You've got the number one long horns, the number five Ole Miss Rebels, the number seven Missouri Tigers, the number four Alabama Crimson Tide. And as of right now, the number 16 LSU Tigers on that schedule. That is a gauntlet for Oklahoma. - That's an absolute beating. And OU is feeling good in the comment section of different places on the internet about their defense and their run defense. But my goodness, this Dylan Sampson. Sampson is the running back for Tennessee. This is a guy who is an absolute lightning rod. He's been unstoppable. He's played seven quarters of football. He's got nine touchdowns. He's got almost 500 yards of offense, and he's carried the ball 45 times. This dude is the real deal. And I think with Tennessee, of course, their quarterback is the one Nico who's getting a lot of the conversation, which makes a ton of sense. He's a big time recruit and a big time player at the most important position. But Tennessee, like a couple of years ago, with Hendon Hooker, when they were super nasty, high-flying, Jalen Hyatt, they're pushing the ball down the field. - That'd be a lot of good talent. - And they still have some of that, but now they're running a lot more like two tight end stuff. They're trying to be more physical. And so they have, they're just trying to have the ability, because if you're Tennessee and you're trying to beat the Georgia's and you're trying to beat the Alabama's and stuff, at some point you got to be able to have some type of physical backbone. It's not always going to work that you're just going air on these teams. And so do you have like sort of a counter punch and Tennessee's sort of developing that now? And I'm excited to see how this OU matchup goes, man. I think there's a ton of questions about OU at this point. - Does, yeah, I agree. Has anybody seen Tennessee play? - I've seen some of Tennessee. - Do they still play with pace? Because they were a very much get, get up to the line. - It's not nearly as much as it was. - I imagine with tight ends and running backs and all that stuff that they're trying to play maybe a little bit more of a physical game that they're not playing with pace. Because they were a no huddle, get to the line. - Yeah, that can't get out of Alabama. - Yeah, they're offensive linemen or pukin' left and right. - Yeah, they were moving so fast. - Our g-back of the day champion is Marshall's head coach, coach Huff, who's not from Detroit. But if you look at him and squint, you'll think this guy's probably from Detroit. Well, he has, he's giving you, he's giving you the, we got the biscuit menu from, from old tutors. Like any time I went over to my grandparents, they usually would have them. And then sometimes my grandma would just give them to us for breakfast, you know, they was delicious. - Yeah, they also have, what do you guys think about this one? The peppy. They got the pepperoni and melted cheese right there in a biscuit. - That could be good. - It's like a lunchtime biscuit? - I love that. Yeah, I would mind it to it. - And I don't know, yeah. They had a block punt, a fork down play that went right. And he threw an interception and ended up on their zone seven yard line. And Minnesota tackled really well in this game but San Francisco ran their offense. So it wasn't something right Zoraz did you notice? - Yeah, it wasn't something like, I was thinking, well, they tricked him a little bit. They did something a little different, you know? But just watching the game, San Francisco's offense really was doing what they had to do. It's just the turnovers, the block punt, the. - Shoot yourself in the front of the party with a couple of bad decisions for your work. - You did hear something there though. You said they tackled really well. And I think regardless, no matter of your scheme, if you want a chance against San Francisco, you've got attack. - They did tackle is the key. - They did tackle well, but man, there was some bad, there was some bad, bad things that went on in that football game for San Francisco. - Well, this was a crazy week. Of course, Bryce Young gets benched. He is pissed according to reports from ESPN, Jeremy Fowler. Now, there's been a lot of support thrown his way. LeBron James even showing support on social media for Bryce Young. He took the X saying rooting for you. I know this ain't on you, continue to put in the work and it shall prevail. Baker Mayfield who played with him for a little while said that his story is far from finish today. Dave Canal as their head coach was asked if they'd consider trading Bryce Young. He said that's not something we're really considering. Said it's all hands on deck for this week and that he still believes that Bryce Young can be a franchise quarterback. Well, Mel Kuiper, he's been new for a good Kuiper rant. She reached her preaching in defense of Bryce Young here. - The quarterback coach, everything's there. The senior assistant, everything's in place. And then you see him beat CJ Stroud when the field is a rookie, right? If you take out the three games you threw multiple interceptions, he was five touchdowns, six touchdowns, three picks, okay? Had some decent games last year, okay? But then you go into this year, you change everything 'cause CJ Stroud's doing so well in Houston. We gotta destroy this thing. We gotta blow it up and start over because CJ Stroud's doing so great in Houston. These coaches aren't getting it done. So we bring in an offensive coach who was with Baker and others, right? We bring in a new pass game coordinator, new quarterback coach for Bryce Young. Though we don't play him in the preseason, we play him one series in the final preseason game against the AOGs. Now those guys are playing for Buffalo by the way. They went one series down the field and they're a-ra-ra. Great, we got it, we accomplished everything we wanted to. I'll give you a little note. CJ Stroud played two preseason games this year. Okay, he played four. Derek Carr played in two preseason games. Why? 'Cause Clint Kubiak was coming in with a new offense and Derek Carr's a veteran played in two preseason games. Bryce Young played one series of final preseason game against the nobody's one defense for the Buffalo Bills. Does that make sense to you? When two games in, we're saying he can't play. Yes, his confidence was shattered, right? Yes, he does need to sit behind it. He dawped for a little bit. But the blame this on Bryce Young is ridiculous. This is the blame here goes to the organization, the owner for a mishandling this young quarterback. Yeah, I mean, the organization might be struggling as well, but I just think this is like the draft guys who don't want to admit they're wrong. Yeah, no, no, this is true. This is true. And, but, you know, to be able to be any good at this, you have to admit you're wrong. You know, there's guys that you have to wear some of these. You know, and next time when you start to think about quarterbacks that are five, 10, you know, play behind a massive offensive line, you know, have all kinds of skill players around them, it's like, okay, that's where they thrive. But if you don't have these things, it's going to be really hard for him to have success because he played, he played behind an NFL offensive line. He threw to NFL receivers. Sure did. He handed the ball to NFL running backs. You know, that's, hey, I tell you, that's a perfect recipe for being drafted first overall. You know, hey, that Texas game last year or the, several years ago. Two years ago. Yeah, when they played in Austin, when they got-- That final drive, he won that game. Sure did. That's the kind of stuff you're looking like, man, okay, maybe you get that in the NFL. Maybe, you know, Daniel's right now with the commanders, similar body style, similar thin but taller type guy, that'll test you with your saying, well, do we really want to do this with this style of guy? And I think to me that you wear this one, if you were a fan of his and thought that he was going to be a great player, you wear it. And next time that one of these guys comes and looks like that, make sure you check all the boxes and look and see where, you know, you think this guy really can because, or where he could play because this guy's having his struggles for sure. Yeah, I mean, he's dead last and it's in 18 games to start his career. He's dead last in a lot of important categories. I saw something, if you look at his first 18 games and Trevor Lawrence's first 18 games, very similar. If you look at the number-- Maybe at some of the raw number stuff that won losses. I mean, that first year with Urban Meyer and Trevor Lawrence was as bad a year as you could ever. Yeah, it was terrible. I think everything Kuiper said about that organization, though, and the way that they've handled this, like Bryce Young probably is not any good. From what we've seen, he does not look like he is an NFL quarterback. It is not the same player that I watched on tape at Alabama. He was very confident. He was very calm. The moment never seemed too big for him. He looks like he, as soon as the snap, he doesn't trust anything he sees. Bailing out of it looks like he's about to burst into tears out there. He's lost all confidence. He's completely shattered. But I don't know that there is a worse organization right now in the National Football League than what David Tepper is running with the Carolina Panther. Yeah, that's very fair. And to that point, if I was a team that had a good supporting cast for a young quarterback, I would be calling Carolina right now and offering them like a four. And seeing if they're that willing to cut bait and I'll try to find a way. Because there's plenty of examples of shorter guys with less tools succeeding. I'd like to see what it could look like if you gave him some weeks off and put him in an environment that was more similar to what he experienced at Alabama. The Panthers are officially the worst team in the NFL since Tepper purchased the team in 2018. They're 31 and 70 since he took over. So they're lost over the weekend coupled with a Jets victory. Ooh, makes that the worst record in the NFL over that span. So thank you Brian. It's more winter than I would have predicted. Yeah, 30 something. Yeah, I thought maybe 10, you know. They've won 30% of the games since he's taken over as owner. Oh my gosh, we're going to have to monitor this, man. This is a back and forth all season long, which is the Panthers and the Jets to see who could be the worst since 2018. We do. We need to have this update every single Monday or Tuesday if one of those teams play on a Monday night. Big launch for the Colts to Forest Buckner is going to be on IR. He's going to miss at least four games. So that's a big hit to their run defense. He has an MRI reveal that he suffered a right high ankle sprain in their loss to the Packers. So that's a team that's struggling at 0 and 2 right now. They're an NFL worse, allowing 237 rushing yards per game through two weeks. And that's not going to help them at all with the Forest Buckner sideline. Now, we're getting tons of great audio from Bill Belichick. Of course, I thought he was fantastic on the Manning gas. He was. We played a little bit of that yesterday. But now Devin McCordy, who's on the NFL Network, was sharing a story of playing for Bill in New England and how he perfectly predicted none other than a win patterns. This is my rookie year. We're playing the Jets on a Monday night. So we're doing a nighttime walk through Sunday night before the game. And he grabs all the corners and he grabs me and he says, hey, when we're running down this sideline, the way the win pattern is in our stadium, going towards the open end, the win world's like this. So the ball is going to look like it's going further than what it is, but it's going to hit that wind. And it's just going to drop. So when you're running on this side, make sure you turn around and get your head back. And I remember sitting now, like, really do the wind pattern. And sure enough, I get a go ball on that side against Brailla Edwards. I turn and then I look back at him and then I remember, like what Bill said, I turn my head back, ball drops right in my lap, get an interception. From that point on, there was nothing the guy could tell me that I would be like, nope, I believe in everything. I was drinking a Kool-Aid heavy after that. Amazing, like the attention to detail, it's that stuff right there where it's like, okay, you can definitely dangle the carrot of Bill Belichick in front of me as the next head coach, the Cowboys. And despite the, I don't want him touching my personnel and handling the draft and doesn't make me nervous. The idea of him bringing in Josh McDaniel, this is an offensive coordinator, of course it does. - Or worse, Fat Patricio, Joe Judge. - That would be worse. Like, okay, Josh, don't bring anyone else, but McDaniel's maybe, I mean, he did somehow have nine wins with Matt Jones and take him to the playoffs his rookie year. So, I don't know, maybe he's not totally asked like the rest are, but that's an incredible story from Bill Belichick. Like, everything, he is so dialed in with that. And also, Braylon Edwards, 877, 881, 1053, name a random receiver. I had not heard that name in quite some time. - Yeah, I had a couple of great years what in Cleveland and things kind of got weird. - Awesome. It's amazing, you know, Belichick was so good at what he did, had so much success. Partially due to Tom Brady that he had, you know, basically unchecked authority to do whatever he wants. And that's where it kind of went wrong ultimately for him. If you could put him back in a, in just a, hey, let's get the best out of Bill Belichick. I'd be excited to add that to a coaching staff or to an organization, you know. I think at this age, at this success level, would you want that much of a demotion? No, I think we're probably seeing the last of Belichick coaching. - Put me down for Lee Evans, well, Chuck. - Lee Evans. Wisconsin, that's a good full right? - Yeah, that was a guy who got buckets with the bill. - Reagan's too, I think AFC Championship drop had an opportunity to have a Super Bowl big time drop. - Yeah. - Yeah, for Baltimore that does. That stings a little bit. - Man, this is pretty cool. If you're gonna go to Falcon's Chiefs this weekend, now half of this is cool, half of this is actually hilarious. You're getting free food. So you've got at Mercedes-Benz Dome, 72,000 fans, you're gonna receive free hot dogs, chips and Coca-Cola products in a souvenir cup. Now there's a too hot dog limit per person, but unlimited refills on drinks. Now why is this happening? - Yeah. - Falcon's owner, Arthur Blank, is getting into the franchise's ring of honor. - Yeah, the party. - This can be looked at as a tip of the cap, by ownership to the fans, as he gears up for his enshrinedment now. - As ownership gives ownership, the tip of the cap for ownership. - He's putting himself in the ring of honor as well, and they haven't done anything in turn. They've won an NFC Championship, and then they famously lost 28 to three in the Super Bowl. Otherwise, we're not doing a whole lot of winning here. I mean, they've been to, Michael Vick took him to an NFC Championship game, I think maybe what three NFC Championship appearances? - Green Bay had never lost, I don't know if he was, I think he was the owner of this. - He took over no two, which might have been the Vick Lambo wild card game you're talking about. He never lost a playoff game at home until Michael Vick went up there and cold, cold day. - But Arthur Blank, putting himself in the ring of honor there and Atlanta putting free food for everybody. - Yeah, yeah, you got to do that. A17 says Santana Moss, by the way. - Like that, that has to be the-- - Santana Moss was a cowboy commander game on it. - Yeah, he didn't mean to kill it. - He was the game, the triplets got put into the ring of honor Monday night football. Final two minutes, two bombs to Santana Moss over Aaron Glenn and Roy freaking Williams for touchdowns, Cowboys lose 14 to 13. - I didn't, I've never haunts me. - I've never seen an owner put himself, this is usually like an after death respect, right? Where an owner gets thrown up into the ring of honor or he has, I guess, sold the team. - Yeah, you don't do this for yourself. - I just, I can't think of any, it doesn't make any sense, it is hilarious. But the fact that he's making it free food and-- - That's a big win. - And beverage and free refills. - They sell, I mean, they know about the concession prices, like they're hitting on this. It's $5 for a beer there. - That souvenir cup, she's gonna be Arthur Blank on it, right? - Right. - The one that everybody's gonna keep and take 'em forever, the collectors, the cup collectors like Brodus, just gonna have an Arthur Blank Cup. - You don't want it for Brian, maybe on the bet payoff or we should say you gotta dress up like Arthur Blank 'cause he does look like a butler and that's your dream. - Oh gosh, yes. My man, he will wear a red vest on you, like the black chest and style. He's got some flair to him, sure does. Some of these names are great. Okay, we got Pierre Garçon from Pastry Chef Eric. - Oh, that's good. - Pierre Raincker Bet, great poll from the 817. - Was he a concussion guy? - Probably. - Waker Bet from the Jets was a concussion guy, yeah. - Yeah, but awesome player. - Yeah. - JJ Stokes, 972. - JJ Stokes was UCLA. - And then San Francisco. - Yeah. - How 'bout Laverne as Coles? He had a cup of coffee with the Cowboys. - There you go. - That's New York Jets, right? - Yup. - Hinds Ward. - Hinds Ward. - Hinds Ward's not a random dude. - Yeah, we're just trying to-- - We're in this right now. - Yeah, Mario Manningham. - Mario Manningham is the Giants. Giants, Michigan? - Michigan. - Had an outstanding catch in that Super Bowl. - Oh. - R.I.P. Charles Rogers, Jericho Caughtry, Antoine Randall L. Keep 'em coming, this is fun. - It's Jennifer Lizzada. - Pierre Lizz Price. - Pierre Lizz Price is a good one. - Pierre Lizz Price is a good one. - And Buffalo, I believe that was Lee Evans' partner, wasn't it? - Yeah, I believe so. - Okay, we're coming back with the C note, Cowboys news of the evening. We have a very frustrated Cowboys player in the locker room after practice. They will give you the details on that and more coming up next year in the nation. Welcome back, nation. Let's hit the C note. Cowboys news of the evening. It's brought you by the Frankel's Lives Unpredictable Accidents happen. Has a quote here from defensive tackle, Jordan Phillips, who has a reported wrist injury, landed him on the IR. Says, "I don't know, that's above my pay grade. "You have to ask the people making the decisions "was clearly frustrated in the locker room today "and said his wrist is fine." Brian, what's going on here? Did he play that bad against him a phantom injury? - He did, he did play that bad. - It would, no, he was not good at all. And yeah, this was, I felt like this is one of those things that maybe, you know, if he does have the injury that he says he does it, but if he does, then you put him on that list and then you can work on an injury settlement and then move him off. You know, you give him a couple of game checks and then-- - So he just got fired, basically, what energy was today? - I kind of feel like that's the direction that you're going there. - Brake, I know we had high hopes for this group of tackles. - Oh, I absolutely did. I mean, like I said, I won-- - They should hand him the pink slip after the game on Sunday. - Well, they basically did. You know, if you look at what we're at right now. - No, I hear you. - Yeah, but I mean literally. - But they needed the spot and they didn't want to make another move. So yeah, you can have the injury and then an injury settlement who'll get two or three game checks and then you move on. - So they have moved on. They brought in Carlos Watkins, who was on the commander's practice. I mean, I haven't seen Carlos play in a while. So I mean-- - Did he play with the Cowboys last year? - Yeah, a couple years ago. - It was 18, 17, 18, and he was just-- - I think it was more recent. - I think it was with under McCarthy. - Was it? - Yeah. - But he came from the Texans. I remember that. - Yes, he did. And he wasn't bad during his time here. - That was fun. - Big body, you know, I mean, we'll see. Again, right now, you're just trying to get some healthy bodies out there. - You need to be tackling-- - You need to be tackling these Raven Lyman coming off the ball so they don't get to your linebackers. If you get a, if the referee's called holding, you know, defensive holding. - Okay. - So be away with it. - So be away with it. - So be it. There'll be some, hopefully there'll be some plays you can get away with it. - I mean, the pro football focus, lowest graded interior delignment, three of the four worst interior delignment in the sport are on your team. - Holy cow. Okay, Krusty's corner's coming up here in about 15 minutes or so, and he's gonna preview the Raven's offense. If you wanna know maybe why the point spread has swung from a point and a half favorite in the Cowboys to favoring the Ravens. Just stick around, but we did have Mazzi leaving the practice field today with a trainer. - Type back. - Type back. - Type back. - So hopefully that's not too bad. How would you rank the Cowboys defensive tackles right now? Ose is the best, right? - Yeah. - Is Mazzi next? - You know what, you might even have to consider putting Golston back inside some, you know, because what are you gonna do with the backup three? That's the question you have to ask yourself now. - George Rogers now on the Bengals practice score. That was a seventh round pick that didn't look bad and camp. - I didn't think you-- - And that's a puzzling play. - Golston's just so much better on the edge too. It'd be a shame to have to bring him back in. - I know, but you know, but you don't, who's your backup three? - No, you don't have, hey, listen, you don't have a, yeah. You got squat right there. - Right. - It is very, very bad. They have to figure out. - What's so unfortunate is one time they made an effort to draft a guy high enough. And they picked the wrong guy. - They did. - They picked the wrong guy. - Michigan curse got him again. - Yeah. - Dude. I mean, I saw it was our buddy Brandon Lori who put like since 2020 in the McCarthy era, just listed all the big dudes in the middle of your defense that you've cycled through. And it is just a bunch of nothing. They can't identify, they can't identify the position. They can't draft it in the first round. They can't sign it as a free agent. They can't get the veteran guy. They can't, they can't steal a guy. Like it feels like every team can have like a fifth or sixth round defensive tackle that is at least a NFL starting caliber player. - Yeah. - Who's not going to get pushed around constantly. It seems like every team is able to have a fifth round pick who can pull that off. Yours ends up being Ridgeway or whatever and he doesn't work out. - Ridgeway played against you last week. Not Ridgeway, yeah, yeah. Ridgeway played against you last week for the Saints. - Yeah, the vanilla gorilla, right? - Yeah. - I remember all the hype about him. - He's managed to be a starter in the league. They let him go. - They traded for him. - The Higgins trade was the best one. And then he wants to leave. He goes to Seattle, wants to play with Aidan Dirty. - So it's a bummer. - Yeah, you know, I feel confident now that they can find corners. At least that is turned, you know, over the last five or six years, that's become a good. Obviously they can find offensive lineman, but you know, other than that, I mean, they've gotten lucky at quarterback. I think they can find wide receivers. They're good at that. They've, you know, found another tight end who's good enough. They can't find a great tight end, but they can find a good enough tight end. So yeah, I really think this personnel department has some real strengths and weaknesses. At running back, you know, other than taking Zeke, which they way overdrafted, you can even say that's a mistake, paying Zeke was a mistake. They had Tony Pollard on their team for four years. He could have been a superstar. And they waited until he got hurt and they franchised tagged him to give him the full responsibility. So, you know, some of these things are weird. The good news, Doron Bland was working to the side today. And Jake Ferguson is back. - Yeah. - So we're, we are getting some good progress. Well, we know, is that a sign that Jake Ferguson is going to play this week? - Yeah, I think the fact that Jake practicing today gives you good indication, unless something happens tomorrow where he comes back in and things aren't right, but all indications were that things were good. - Former Cowboy Center Travis Frederick among the first time nominees for the Hall of Fame. - How about that? - Is he an HOF or? - Say what, man? - No. He's not, unfortunately. - One of the greats of his era, longevity. - Yeah, it's just he didn't play long enough. I don't think offensive linemen always get the love in which they deserve. I mean, was he the best center, like unequivocally, during the time we was playing, there might have been a couple of years where you'd say, yes, I mean, he was a fantastic player. I wish, they're missing him to this day, right? I'm hoping Cooper BB turns out to be, you know, a good, but I don't know that they're ever going to find quite what Travis Frederick was giving you that position, but I just don't think he's going to be a Hall of Fame. - For what, for the things that he had to overcome to play, I mean, everybody, nobody, including me, were, it's not very high like, man, that was a, here's a guy, maybe a third round pick, you know. - They'd try to take him 31 overall. - Yeah, Dallas takes him really late in the first round and all of a sudden he's off and running, so. - I didn't realize how short his career was. It was five seasons, Guillen Barre, and then the 2019 season, which wasn't quite as good as-- - When he couldn't grab those guys like he did one time, when he was, you know, in second level blocks and stuff, when he lost that ability to grab those guys and hold on to him and stay connected to him, that's when he knew he couldn't play anymore, 'cause he was so good at doing that. - Yeah, Hall of Fame talent for sure. - And a Hall of Fame person. - Yes. - I mean, he still gives back to the community here locally. - I didn't know that he went to the high school in Wisconsin called Bigfoot. - Yeah, that's awesome. He went to Bigfoot high. - Bennett, remember Bennett used to show this thing called the Bennett Minute when he was like, like he was young. They used to have him on dowscalboys.com and he interviewed the players. - Nepitism, huh? - He asked, he asked-- - Like this kid's got talent? - The kid drew some numbers, it was crazy, but he asked Travis Frederick one time a question. He says, "You went to Bigfoot high school, "do you believe in Bigfoot?" And Travis Frederick looked at me and goes, "You know I do, I really do." And they got into this discussion about-- - That's a Hall of a question, actually. - Yeah, Bennett asked his own questions or come up with his own questions. I had him and he asked Dan Bailey goes, "Dan, do you think you can make "a 35 yard field goal blindfolded?" - Good question. - And Dan was like, "Well I've never tried." He goes, "I think I could, if you line me up." And so, yeah, Bennett always got-- - Did he go out there and do it? - Yeah, I don't think Dan did it. - That would have been the next step in this, right? Now let's go out there and do it. - Bennett always came up with these kind of off the wall questions, you know, that was kind of, he did good at it. - I agree. - 11-7, I am getting sick and tired of Dawson Slender and the Great Jake Ferguson like this. Good enough. We see differently on him. - Oh, give me a break. - I did, he's gonna be top five tied in. - He's had some good games. - He's gonna be the man. - It's the same thing that makes it look like Dak is a lead, you know? - I'm not pretty expecting Dak right now. - This one, Dak takes the stray there. - Wow. - I was an impressive maneuver. - What the hell? - Oh, he'll maneuver all day. - Going at top speed. - Come on, man, we've been working. I tipped my cap. - I mean, I mean, what more do you need to see, right? - You need to see a lot more, I guess. - This has been like Fool's Gold for what, eight years now? Eight years, falling for it. - Oh, for Dak? - No, well, I mean, so many things on the offense. This is a great offense. No, it's not. You know, it's a team that uniquely takes advantage of teams they're better than and runs the score up on them somehow. - Yeah. - Yeah, they used to, as well on top of that, I don't know if they're going to do this anymore. They used to go down like three scores and then spend the second half piling up like 220 yards of offense and three scores to make it look like it was a closed game. They don't do that anymore, so. - Well, the Packers came a little bit. - Yes, you're right about that. I mean, it's still, it was a 19 point. - Oh, and who had three touchdowns in that game, baby? (laughing) - Big fan! Big biscuit! - Gosh, man, Dak was dealing in that second half. - Crusty's corners coming up next, Brian. What you got? - Let's talk about this Raven's offense. We'll do that next. - Thank you very much, Lucius. Doug Farmer talking to college footballs coming up at four o'clock. It's time now for the crustacean's corner. Brought to you by a reliant air conditioning gimmick-free AC repair and replacement. Here's Brian. - Thank you very much, General. Thank you very much to Reliant as well for being a part of this. I tweeted out just a little bit ago our G-Bagnation Flax. - Oh, it's so beautiful. Salute to Waterburger and iconic image. - Yeah, thank you to Waterburger for being part in-- - It's pretty badass, dude, to be partnering with a Waterburger. You can leave. - Southern Leisure, too, right? - Yeah. - Southern Leisure. - Yeah, I got a couple of people involved. But yeah. - We'll be out there. I think we got an appearance in Southern Leisure coming up pretty soon. - There we go. Well, that's really cool. Looking forward to that. But thank you, too. The Flax, it looks super cool. - Yeah. - I mean, when you're a part of some of your thing, and we were talking about, yeah, the orange color and this, that, and then you get the colors that Waterburger has and then you incorporate into a Flax. So if you have it, if you want to check it out, you can look it. I think all our Twitter handles have that, right? Everything, we all posted that picture, right? - For sure. - Yeah, it's actually very old. - It's a match made in heaven, dude. - You know what kind of gave us the idea last year was the Rangers, Whataburger Josh Young Jersey. - That was sweet. - It was like, wait, this is killer. - Yeah. - Can we get this on a G-bag flag? And now it has happened. - Yes, there you go. Well, I mean, if you want to check that out. I can't wait to hang it in my master bedroom with, it's going to pair well with my Waterburger sheets that I have on the bed. You guys knew I had those. - No, yeah. - In the watch, yeah. - Yeah, we're 90. - Should you take your hoodie yet? - The bright orange. - Should you lose that hoodie? - No, it's been hot, you know. - But that doesn't, that shouldn't bother, Bobby. - Yeah, give it a month. - Bobby, Bobby, he'll take it. - Bobby's going to a pool party. He's got it on out there, you know. He just pushes up the sleeves like no one's going to notice. - Him at Fan Bowl, that was unreal. Seeing him walking. - Yeah, he agrees. - Everybody just melting. - I was in California, that's it. What happened at the Fan Bowl real quick? I'm sorry. - Super hot day. - Super hot day. - I lost the choppy in the final. It was hotter in hell. The tent did not have AC. And Bobby had a full on like thick cotton hoodie on the whole entire time. - Yeah, it's Bobby. - Got hammered. - Got hammered. - His wife was livid 'cause he kept saying he was going to go and then he would disappear. So for like 45 minutes, she was like, I thought we were going to go. It was awesome to watch her vent about that. - So there's a lot of good entertainment. - A lot of good entertainment. - That happens a lot. And that happens in Vegas at the Super Bowl too. - Oh my God. - He decided to chug wine. - Yeah. We went to the bottomless wine Italian place and his poor wife sitting there like, I thought Sean was going to punch him in the face. - Bobby, he's tweeting like or treating 12 ounces worth of red wine like a shop. Yeah, it's really unreal. - Real quick too. Where were we when he drank like four shots in a row? - Rutter room. - The rudder room. That's right. - You know that energy like the first couple of times you drink where you're just like, you're raging so hard, you have no control. - That's him every time. - It is. - The rudder room. He's that. - For the side Adderall. (laughter) - These are true mark of consistency. - Yeah. - The Ravens, this is another one of those teams you need. We all understand what you're dealing with with Lamar Jackson. We understand that that part of this game is, is going to be very, very difficult for you to, to have to deal with him with his running ability. It's elite that even when he drops back to pass and watching the opening game against Kansas City, then watching the, the radar game and the Raiders did a good job of really pressuring him. But then all of a sudden, you know, you get back there, you think you have him trapped, he ducks, he moves, he jumps, he's, and now it's a 15 yard run. Instead of an eight yard sack, it's a 15 yard run. And, you know, that's, that's, that's what you're going to deal with in this football game. Now, the thing you're also going to deal with is, this is a, a team very similar to, with, with Todd Machin as the coordinator. Todd is a, was a collegiate offensive coordinator was at Georgia and stuff. So he, he, he understands power football, running the ball, that's kind of his thing. But he's a little bit like what you see with the, with what you had with the Saints. He's going to play with tight ends. He's going to play with a full back. Patrick's card is their, their full back. Sometimes you, if you follow 42, you can find where the ball's going to go. Cause that's, that's where he generally ends up in front of the ball. And they've also got these tight ends with Mark Andrews and Isaiah likely, they like to get in like bunch, these like tight bunch formations, you know, so they'll put Andrews likely and record all on one side and you're thinking, okay, here we go. We're about to load this thing up. Come into this right side over here. You're thinking that, well, and next thing you know, the, the inside fake goes to Derek Henry or to Justice Hill and everybody's going to right. And then he pulls the ball Jackson and runs out the left side with nobody there. - That's so tough. - I mean, it's just he, they, they're going to test you in every way to play run defense in this game. - Combination of physicality and eye candy is not good for this kind of offense at all. - It's not good at all. And this offensive line will come off the football. They, they do have their issues in past protection at one particular spot with, with Daniel Paolele is there. - And their left side and they did a, the draft and stash with Andrew Voorhees. - Voorhees. - Which they, they're so good at doing and he's turning into a hell of a player at left guard. - Yeah, they, they've got a, they've got a really, I think a quality offensive line when it comes to the protection. Like I say, the Raiders got after pretty, pretty good. But the right guard is where the majority of the pressures are going to come from. Cause he's a, he's a six, eight, 380 pound guy. And he, he is very slow footed. I mean, he's a mammoth guy. So he does have problems with quickness. Now, can you take advantage of that? Can you put Oso over him? Can you put Michael Parsons in that gap? Can you do something to make this guy have to block one on one? But you've got to get them to throw in the football. - Right, right. - The best way to beat the Ravens on offense is to get them to throw the football. But they got it, they got a quality receiver. I think they've got a couple of quality receivers. I really do like Zay Flowers, who they got from Boston College. And he's number four and Zay is a always on the move guy. When they get under center, they'll hand him the jet sweep. When they get under center, they'll fake the jet sweep to him and then flip the ball to Henry or to Hill. You know, they're trying to be a little creative of how they get Flowers the ball. - Henry Hill, isn't that the good fella? - Henry Hill is a good fella, yeah. But Justice Hill, is their backup running back. - Oklahoma State. - He is mainly the guy they use on third down. So he's their third down back. And when they get in long yard situations, they like to throw the screen. That seems to be either the tight end delay screen or they'll throw the screen to Hill. This receiving core, it's with Bateman Flowers and Nelson Aguilar. What they try to do too is with, and Mark Andrews has included in this, is they want to make as easy as they can throws for the quarterback. So you'll see them go up the field and then curl inside, up the field and outs. Up, you know, everything is pretty simple. It's not these massive, you know, they've thrown some crossing routes and things like that. We've saw what the Saints did to you last week with the crossing routes and the Ravens will probably try. But the quarterback is kind of a, what I would call like a wrist thrower. He's not really a winded up. - He flicks it. - He flicks it. - Yeah. - He flicks it. And then that way he's not always accurate. So there's sometimes behind, you know, sometimes there's the ball is not where it needs to be. Like when if he follows through and he throws it, he could throw it on a line or you would throw it on a line and then the guy would be in front of me and catch it. So kind of flicking it. It sometimes doesn't go exactly where he wants it to go. - Gotta use proper technique, man. - It's exciting to think about the possibility of if you can force him to throw the ball. - If you can force him to throw the ball. - But that's such a big ask. And I worry the Zayflowers and his speed and quickness. - Yeah. - I think Chris Olave took advantage of Kalen Carson a little bit last week with the speed. That might be a matchup to kind of circle for you. How does Kalen Carson bounce back? - Flowers leads the league in average separation. - Yeah. That's the thing. - This dude is open. - He's, but the thing, and the reason I think that he's always open or the separation, he's always on the move. - Yeah. - He's not a stationary player. - Well, and Lamar's always buying so much time to where-- - There was one time-- - He comes open. - Yeah, there was one time in the Raiders game where they've got Jackson trapped on the right side of the formation. So he's kind of scrambling, moving, and Flowers keeps going, moving, and moves all the way to Jackson's left. I mean, far left down the field. And he gets between the safeties and the linebackers. They lose him. And now Jackson's kind of running around over here to the right side. And what does he do? He throws the ball all the way across the middle of the field to Flower standing right there for a big, but the Raiders lost him in coverage. - Yeah. - Because of the way that he was playing on the move. So-- - Can I ask you this? - Yeah, 'cause Zimmer talked about, he was asked about overshown as a spy. Maybe Lamar Jackson. He said Micah, he thinks could match up well. Would you have overshown kind of on one of these tight ends? I mean, likely was so good week one against Kansas City, but you'd think overshown can run with these guys. - You'd think that overshown could run with these guys. To me, I worry more, this is gonna sound strange. I worry more about Mark Andrews than I do like. But the thing with likely is, he is a good catcher of the football. I just think Mark Andrews is a guy that catches, he's kind of a bad ball catcher. He's a contested catcher. How do you cover him? I think he's going to be the, how do you choose to match up? You obviously have to have some size. I don't think he runs, I don't think either tight end runs great. I mean, good enough. I mean, when you start talking about running down the field. So, the whole thing is gonna be about, who do you match up with that can handle big guys, but be able to run with them in a way that when the ball goes in the air, you're gonna have to make it contested place. Because Mark Andrews and likely both will get the ball. I mean, that's gonna be a key for them. I believe no NFL team has more pass attempts out of 12 personnel than the Ravens do. So, likely in Andrews are running routes together constantly. Constantly. And that's where you have to worry about them too. When I mentioned that tight bunch formation, where they get all these guys together, and then also maybe I talked about having the full back in there, but then they put flowers in there. So, now they got, they got Andrews likely in flowers, and you're kinda thinking, okay, well, here comes the crack. Here comes the crack talk. And then they scatter out of that. But it's, they will, they will challenge, they are going to challenge this Dallas, and rightfully so, you challenge Dallas to play run defense in this game. Because everything that the Saints do, and it comes to running a football with multiple tight ends and playing a full back, and the movement, the motions, and things like that, the Ravens could do the same thing. They would probably love nothing more than Lamar Jackson not having to throw many passes in this game. - Yeah, well, it's even more difficult because of the added dimension of Lamar Jackson being able to run. - He can run. - He could run. - You know what I mean? - This is an absolutely awful matchup for the Cowboys. - Where, where, where, Karth can throw very well, it's the opposite. Where Kar cannot run, it's the opposite that way. Because this guy, when, when, when Jackson pulls the ball, you just, you could see fear. I mean, literally, I, I was like, oh no, you're watching the tape and you're going, oh no, this is about to be a big play. - He's one of the all-time greats. - Because his ability of the ball handling and things like that, you get him to throw, he will make mistakes. He will make mistakes in the game if you can get him to throw, but. - Do you think he's the best running quarterback ever? - Man, I saw Randall Cunningham. And I thought he was pretty damn good. I saw Mike Vick, thought he was pretty damn good. - This guy. - He'd probably rather have Steve Young. - Steve Young, as far as a pure runner. - We always, we always had good luck against Steve Young when we were in Green Bay. I mean, but he, he has that ability, the elusiveness. I think this guy's got probably better elusiveness than all the guys that I mentioned now. You know, his ability just to run out of, run out of just problems. You know, things breaking down. And they're offensive line to me. I, last week, I thought there were a couple of different spots you could attack these guys. I mean, this Tyler Lindenbaum, the center. You know, we talked about him. I know in the draft show a bunch, undersides and all that. Man, he's leading sweeps. He's getting out second level. He's just a really good athlete. They've got some guys, Ronnie Stanley. They've got some really good offense. - That left side's really good. - This could be a challenge. - It's absolutely amazing that as fear, fearsome as that running game is, it does not equate to a passing game when they need it in big situations. - Yeah, if you, you know, you find a way to, to stay with or stay ahead or, you know, and make him have to throw the football, if they do, they get down to the final couple of minutes of games and stuff like that. That's a challenge for them. - We're talking college football with Doug Farmer coming up next right here. It's the G back nation on 105-3. - Post-season baseball is here and it is the absolute best time of the year. I'm Rod Bradford of baseballs and boring. And we're gonna have you covered every step of the way with instant reactions from players and coaches and managers and fans and reporters and everybody else who is immersed in this awesomeness and all the craziness that comes with October baseball. So follow baseball as I'm boring in the free Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts. (upbeat music) - Family shoot, yeah, it's our three of the G back nation on 105-3, the fan cowboy's back to work today, a lot going on. And we'll have more on them coming up just a little bit later in the program. Right now we're gonna turn our attention to the world of college football and one of our favorite college football talkers, Doug Farmer from covers.com joins us now here in the G back nation and a good afternoon to you, sir. How the heck are you? - You make me blush, call me one of your favorite college football talkers. I'll take that any day of the week. And twice on a Wednesday. - Huge, yeah boy, we love it, you know, and you bring it. Tell us about this, Texas in the number one spot. Are they better than Georgia right now? - Are they better than Georgia right now? Sure, I'll give you that. We just saw how much Georgia's often struggled last week. Are they gonna be better than Georgia in November? You have to give deference to Kirby Smart. We have seen this machine he has built. I see Sarkeesian, great coach. I love watching his offense when it's clicking. But we have to give some deference to what Kirby Smart has built and just trust that Georgia's gonna get the SEC championship in the end as much as Texas fans hate hearing that. - How much of an idea you have on the Longhorns quarterback situation? Do you think there's any controversy is just arch until Quinn's right? How would you approach that? - I don't mean this to be bad radio. I don't care, it's Monroe this weekend. There's an off-week and then it's Mississippi State. We're having this conversation three weeks too early. Is Quinn beat up? Yeah, it's an abdomen strain, something in there. And we've seen that really mess with players seasons, but the fortunate part for Texas is they've got weeks to get right. Archie looked great. Archie's gonna handle Monroe. Archie's gonna handle the idol week. I'm very confident. He can beat idol week. And he's gonna take care of Mississippi State 'cause they just can't manage Texas's defense no matter what the offense does. Get back to me for the four that October 12th game in Oklahoma and if Archie's really shined, maybe we have a conversation, but most likely it's Quinn Ears. He's a possible number one draft, but give some leeway to him getting right from this injury. - Hey Doug, how good really is Ole Miss? I'm just really curious. I mean, I see them putting up points every week. It doesn't seem like the schedule's been very good. I mean, you know, the opponents have been making payouts and stuff, so they get these games. But how good is Ole Miss? - You know what's curious about this Mississippi team? We are used to Lane Kiffin. We have loved watching him get cocky in his play calling for years. What's curious though is this one is not based on explosive plays. They have the number one, a success rate on drop backs to pass at 57.3%. That's not an explosion percentage. It's much more difficult to have this kind of number on a success rate. Number one on the country at 57.3. They are more or less just succeeding most of the time on the drop back without the explosive balls. We haven't even seen that yet. That time will come because we know Lane Kiffin too well. So I think they're better than we realize just because we haven't seen Lane Kiffin really let loose with the Arsenal. - Doug Farmer with us here from Covers. Doug, I'm drinking the big red Kool-Aid, man. I am all in on Nebraska. I think they're back. They're seven and a half point favorites at home against Illinois. Top 25 matchup on Fox. Are you with me on the Huskers? - I am and you know, I hadn't checked that line today. I love hearing it down to seven and a half 'cause I am hoping to get, I haven't met my Nebraska money yet. I'm going to. I thought it was still an eight. I would love to see a touchdown pop up. Nebraska should handle this game with ease. We do not yet give enough credit to how quickly and how well Matt Rule built these lines. Then Nebraska defensive line. We saw what it did against Colorado and I more than anybody. Lampoon Colorado's grocery bags across the offensive line. But still Nebraska made it pay for that. Nebraska defensive line is something for everybody in the country to worry about. I'm in. I'm looking forward to that Ohio State game. Do I think Nebraska wins? No, but I'm looking forward to it because that will be a real blue blood, blue blood, historic type of game. And with a defensive line like that, it should at least be competitive this weekend. Yeah, I guess I'm already looking past Illinois. To echo this, let that line drop though. I'd love to get me that even touchdown. - How about the OU's first SEC matchup versus Tennessee? How do you see this one going here, Doug? - It's really too bad for Brent Vanibold. He's a really good coach. He's an okay recruiter. His problem that he has on his hands is his timing. No matter who was coaching Oklahoma, this start of the SEC was going to be tough. There are touchdown underdog at home. That doesn't happen in Norman. Yeah, here we are. They're going against such a good Tennessee team. And Oklahoma's defensive backfield is not going to be up for that task. Let alone it's offense trying to keep up with Nico and company. I like Oklahoma. My one trip to Norman was one of my favorite college football experiences, but you can't get behind the Sooners right now or in my opinion, much of their SEC play. Their offensive line is a problem that has not yet been fully understood. - What was so great about your trip to Norman? - I mean this sincerely. I have dealt with some college football fan bases who were just mean. And you know, we can glamorize that, but when you're a visiting fan, you want to at least feel you're going to have a fun day. The Oklahoma fans were thrilled to see opposing fans because they knew what we're just going to make for a better environment. And that kind of hospitality, yeah, a good banter back and forth. Always and forever in necessity, but to not feel threatened in any way, the Oklahoma fans were fantastic and I forever commend them for that. - Tennessee adding a 10% tax to pay the players basically. Is this about to become the norm Doug? - Well, I think the only piece of that that will not be the norm is just outright acknowledging what it is. We all know these ticket prices are already through the roof. They're going to go up a little bit more. The schools are going to gloss over it. We've all bought concert tickets on Ticketmaster and you think, hey, I got a good deal. $28 and they end up costing a 61 apiece. Is those taxes and fees that they don't tell you about out of the gates? We're just going to add more taxes and fees like we do on every other transaction in corporate America. - What are you thinking about this big 12 matchup? We got Utah going to Stillwater. They're favored by two on the road against the pokes. Two old ass quarterbacks with Alan Bowman and Cam rising right now, but arguably the two best teams in the big 12. - Arguably the two best teams in the big 12. I'd rather just say inarguably the best team in the big 12 and by that I mean the Utah youth. Cam rising is healthy and we believe he is. We have every reason to believe he is, but Kyle Wittenham is also as reliable as a magic eight ball with health updates. If Cam rising is full go, Utah's offense elevates this program. We've known for years, feels like decades, how good a Utah defense under Kyle Wittenham can be. And now he has an offense to play with too. Utah deserves far more credit than it's getting. Cam rising in my opinion is worth more than the four and a half points. We've seen this spread move since it opened out as Utah's a two and a half point underdog on Sunday. Cam rising should move this at least to three, if not three and a half. I've been all in on Utah also. And let's say since mid July, I have not seen any reason to change that. And Oklahoma state has yet to look that impressive. - Doug, how bullish are you on Michigan traveling the USC? - I am not bullish at all. I think he wolverines have a lot of problems on their hands. I think this offense and its inability to score were the field matters most. I do want to know and I looked it up to make sure. This game is in Ann Arbor. It is at Michigan. It's not going to matter. - Oh, I'm sorry. - I'm in there. - I thought we would deal the way with that. My apologies to that. - I clearly wasn't sure. 'Cause I didn't correct you out of the jump. I had to check to make sure I had it right. USC's going to come in there and we can make a big deal of USC in the back. The USC's played at Notre Dame every two years in mid October. This is not that abnormal. It's going to be fun to watch in the big 10. I don't believe in Michigan's offense. And now you have Colston Loveland's question will be only return to starter from 2023. And he matters both in the run game and the passing game. You know what, usually downgrade an offense 'cause the tight end is injured. When he's the only reliable piece of this offense, if he doesn't play, I am downgrading that offense significantly. I really like USC in this. This line is down to five and a half. So you're getting under that key number of six. Should be a low scoring game 'cause Michigan's going to try to shorten the game, knowing its offense is a problem. But if USC can convert in the red zone, USC's going to win this easily. What is your best bet of the weekend? - My best bet of the weekend is going to surprise you. I really like, Miami, Ohio was a 28-point underdog at Notre Dame. What is very curious about Marcus Freeman, many things. And the Notre Dame team is going to be entertaining to watch as we've already yo-yoed twice with them this season. Marcus Freeman has done very well away from Notre Dame Stadium. In his 30 games as Notre Dame head coach, he has gone 12 and five outright and 12 and five against the spread away from Notre Dame Stadium. But at home, he's eight and five outright, seven and six against the spread. It's difficult to put a finger on that, but we're at a point here where you have to acknowledge that it's amplified. Miami, Ohio getting a full four touchdowns. Chuck Martin has a solid defense. Chuck Martin has a savvy football coach and Chuck Martin is universally respected. Notre Dame's not going to run up the score, even if it has the chance. I think Miami, Ohio keeps this optically competitive, not actually competitive, but close enough that I cash that 28-point ticket. - I love it, dude. I fell in love with that guy. As soon as I saw him go viral for calling out Alabama for stealing their, their kicker over the off season, that dude is an absolute legend. What about the coach in Florida? Oh, Billy Napier. How many more days until he's gone? - Boy, you know, our, our new cycles these days, you said the coach in Florida, I was really worried you're going to say the other one, but folks, just set it aside. Mike Novel is fine. It's 84 million dollars coming on its contract. Billy Napier, this is, this is getting rough. I'm hoping he's there as long as possible because my second best bet every week, until he is fired, is way too Florida is down, and then live bet against Florida because that team will not compete once it's losing. It won't even think about it. This is my most reliable money maker this season. Miami gave us an exhibit of exactly how Lopsdale can get. I hope Billy Napier is their head coach through that Florida State game just so I can fade that way nine more times. - Speaking of Florida State, that guy's going to have to eat the poop, huh? - I, you know, we've all said things we shouldn't have. We've all made claims or said we could do something. Most of us are not dumb enough to do it on social media. - Yeah, man, that one's bad. FSU, terrible right now. Now, I want to go back to Georgia for a second. You think they're going to get it together as the season goes on. You have faith in Kirby Smart. What is happening? What are their issues right now? - The easiest one to just broadly say is Carson Beck misses the safety blankets of Ladd Mckonke and Brock Bowers. It's a more fun sentence if you say Carson misses his safety blankets of Ladd and Brock 'cause the names there, Carson, Ladd and Brock just really gives you that good down home southern charm. They're missing those reliable pieces. Give Carson Beck a few weeks of on Saturday's live action. He will develop that chemistry with his receivers. He's a more live arm than he's giving credit for. That's why he's Quinn Ewer's primary competition to be QB1 this coming spring. Carson Beck deserves a little bit more credit than he gets 'cause he doesn't have to put up fireworks. When he has that defense at the backstop, give him some time to find that reliability with this new set of targets. I have to assume Kirby Smart has figured that out and it will come. - So only week four, three weeks down, but any early Heisman odds that you're looking into. - Well, I like my first three plays to start the year. I insist two of them are still valid. My first three plays were Carson Beck, Riley Leonard and Cam Rizie. And I think we can scratch off Riley Leonard, but if Cam Rizie comes out this weekend and really puts one on Oklahoma State, people are gonna notice. And then after that Michigan walloping high, I picked up a little bit of share of Quinn Ewer's at six to one. I regret that now 'cause the price is so much better. But how much were running off stat lines against Louisiana Monroe and Mississippi State really gonna matter to his Heisman campaign? Sure, the gross numbers he's gonna lose out on 700 yards and eight touchdown passes. He's still gonna have massive wins when it matters. And that is how you win the Heisman. It's the wins as much as the stats, usually the wins more than the stats, unless your name is Lamar Jackson or Robert Griffin III. - DougPharmaCovers.com, sort of college football adjacent. Baker Mayfield says Bryce Young's story not written yet. Are you surprised how much Bryce has struggled in the NFL? - You know, I hadn't seen that quote. I like it coming from Baker Mayfield because there's a bit of some credibility coming from him that hey, you can come back and do something. And I am surprised what is most jolting in that conversation is there was no massive consensus among those smarter than you and me of Bryce Young or CJ Stroud. There was no just distinct all one is good, one is bad. It was, hey, these two are both gonna succeed. CJ Stroud's probably better, but they're both gonna succeed. And it's in retrospect, it's not meant to be a hot take. This is just meant to say we might end up with this historical comparison. Peyton Manning and Ryan Leif kind of level the disparity of career. - Yeah, great stuff. Doug have a great week and we'll catch up with you soon. - You know how to get to all of me, thanks guys. - Salute, Doug, farmercovers.com. Okay, out of the world of college, Deon Sanders says reporters are envious of college athletes. What do you think about that? He thinks the media has become too hard on the players and says jealousy is to blame, lashed out at yesterday's presser. Once upon a time, you guys never attack college players. Now they're making more money than y'all and some of y'all are envious and jealous about that. Adding your job does not say attack. If they didn't play well, leave it at that. - A lot of haters. - A lot of haters, man. - Has criticism of college players grown significantly here in the NIL era, Ryan? - I'm trying to think about that because I do think that there's a lot of things that have taken place now with gambling and things like that you know, when players do make mistakes. You know, and I've seen players respond to, well, you know, hey, when you don't tweet at me when I make plays and I make you money. - Yeah, you're saying it's the media. - Yeah. - I just say it overall. I think, you know, I think a lot of the media and stuff, but you know, we all kind of feel like this is our job to report, you know, when they play well, you say they play well and they play poorly. You know, you have to have analysis, you know, and that's the thing I think with college players, it's unfortunate because they are college players, but they have now stepped in that realm of being paid. - It is different, you know, but you know, it's tough. That part of it, I have really no problem criticizing professional players. College players are a little different from it. - They're younger, for sure, and they're not making a ton of money. You know, I don't know, I don't follow college fan bases closely enough to say one way or another where the Deion is right. - We, I know, the things with LSU and stuff is myself and watching the games. I try and really, if they make mistakes, I try and keep those myself or me and home and kind of-- - 'Cause you're from the old school where we just didn't do that. - Yeah, you know, I don't-- - I mean, these fan bases go out of control though. - They do, they do. - I mean, especially just now with the transferring. I mean, we had like, some of these fan bases are gonna go and find their parents' businesses and they're gonna go on Yelp and just go one star, terrible reviews. Now, their family's business is tanking 'cause they're transferring from Oklahoma to Ole Miss or whatever it is. Like, there are some psychos out there. - Yeah, but he's calling out the media. - Yeah, he's not calling out message boards. - I don't know about the media. - The media thing, I don't, I don't know. - I'm sure people feel a little bit more like justifiable in criticisms now. - Like, 'cause you're actually winning money. - 'Cause guys, you know, I'm sure there's been some level of uptick on that. I mean, you've been talking on the radio, I feel a little bit better about saying somebody, some 19-year-old kid's name 'cause he's making maybe a million dollars. Those critiques now feel a little bit more reasonable than, say, a decade ago. - Yeah, when they weren't getting paid at all. - Yeah, you're like real amateurs. - Yeah. - Gotta be an exploited. Before that, I do need to slide in some stars updates for ya. Dallas Star Season. Getting ready to crank up here, but Jason Robertson, stars leading story, here we go. He's gonna miss most camp. Drandevis just removed from his foot at the end of July. That does not sound fun, but Robo still expected to be ready to go for the start of the season. And Thomas Harley got himself a new deal. Two-year contract to stay with the Dallas Stars. So did Esselindel, who will get a fat contract as well. He should be retiring as a Dallas star. I believe it was a five-year extension for him. So we'll get ready for Dallas Stars playoff hockey. Probably their last chance to be able to hoist Lord Stanley's Cup with this current group of veterans. Yeah, Jamie, ban a free agent after this year. And man, I don't know, you know, this is an older veteran group. You're going to be running out of opportunities. Now is the time. But on National Cheeseburger Day, who do you think of when we talk cheeseburgers? For me, there's one guy, your old buddy, Brian Braddis, Andy Reed. Andy Reed, Andy Reed. He's got a section on his play call. It's like the cheeseburger section, where he's got a bunch of different cheeseburger plays. He knows the cheeseburger better than anybody. And here was Andy asked by a reporter about cheeseburger day. Which is National Cheeseburger Day. Do you think you're going to celebrate? Yeah, Mac, McAfee just sent me a cheeseburger from McDonald's. I don't know. I thought that was unique. McAfee's unique, so I can't wait to enjoy it. I believe you when you say it, coach. And I don't blame you for one second. You'd like to think McAfee got him what? The the double quarter pounder would you use? If you're Andy and you find out McAfee's got a McDonald's burger in there for you, or do you want it to be the Big Mac? I mean, I don't know. Are the double Big Mac now? Are they double still double Big Mac in? Man, I am so partial to the Big Mac. Big Mac's delicious. The fact of how messy it is, but it's just so every bite's so good. I think for Andy, though, I probably want to go double quarter pounder, though. I mean, double quarter pounder. Thank you, yes. Even a Big Mac is just kind of like a double slider for him. Yeah, because you have a double quarter pounder with cheese and then add Mac sauce? Yeah. What you do is you sub the catch up and mustard, you add lettuce and you add Mac sauce. Yeah. And now you've got yourself a quality Big Mac that is the double quarter pounder with cheese. I think it's like a cheeseburger promotion going on at Mickey D's though, right? Like 50 cent cheeseburgers. I think everybody, all of these fast food chains are doing a little something. I think they got the dollar junior bacon with cheese back today, Lucius, Wendy's just on the Wendy's app, but they're doing it for a dollar. They ought to quit. Yeah. They ought to quit. And I say that respectfully. They're like $4 for a junior bacon, cheeseburger, they bring it down to his dollar price where it's supposed to be. This is a special. Yeah. Well, just for today, you can get go back to the good old days and get that dollar junior bacon with cheese. Now we're kind of, you know, this is ridiculous. What are you charging? I wonder if Andy's like just an everything on it guy. Did he ever, does he ever said? I've never even asked him that. I think he was asked about which he would always, he likes in and out. He likes in and out. He's a California guy. He's an in and out guy. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, there's not a cheeseburger. No, but I wonder if there's a specific way that he likes his burger. I've never. I've never even asked him that. Yeah. I think the go to question. He's got in and out burger than original Tommy's in Los Angeles and then a place called the Hawkins house of burgers also in Los Angeles. Yeah. So, but I don't have the D T says five guys is up there. Let's see. He says you got to have your cheese. You got to have a little mayo and ketchup. There you go. Go combo. Hold the mustard. That's a questionable take. Okay. Okay. He says two he says, but then he'll take the rest. I'll tell you what early a home run till he included the mayo. I've been I've been introduced recently to the bread and butter pickles. Those are nice. Just recently. Dude. I mean, your whole life. I do not. I've been living under a rock of sorts. I've never heard of them. They're very nice. Bread and butter pickles are fantastic. They are. Is this bread it? It's the greatest flavor. No, no, like nothing about it the way it looks or even tastes like canote spread or butter, but it's it's a sweetness to them. It's absolutely delicious. Yeah. Yeah. The best tasting pickle in the world. Yeah, they're very, very good. And it's a must have now on every cheeseburger. Every bird. Yeah. I'm not going to I'm not going to fight you on that. Here's the Dallas observer. They've put out the best burgers in DFW. Where's your favorite burger place in Dallas? 877-881-1053. The honorable mentions on here and really they just said 18. So this might be a good place that we can take it to Eric, excuse me, 2615 South Beckley don't have anything to do afterwards either. That would be a nap time. Yeah, because you go put you you go put your feet up brother. Yeah, this thing looks like a gosh thing. Mondo burger. Yeah, double with bacon combo going to run you a full 20 bucks, worth it. They better not be false advertised beyond this. No, and it does not look like it and a lot of people were shouting out wing fields on the Twitters as well. Sky rocket burger, which has multiple locations across the DFW. I don't think I've ever eaten it one. I've never heard of it. Sky rocket burger. I've heard good things about there's one for just texting it in and say you're welcome. I was scouting report, please, if you would, Scott, give us a text and so they're single with cheese 749, but the add-ons they've got spicy mayo secrets, grilled jalapenos or onions. The paper that the burgers in this greasy, it's got kind of melted cheese. Oh my God. They've done it right. They've done it right. Yeah. The cook got a new point in his ear and he's pointed backwards. Hell yeah. Yeah, he better. He's talking to somebody else by cooking your burger. Yeah. It's all about to be dude. Rodeo goat being texted in Rodeo goats also. Oh, gosh. Very good. It's just so amazing. Yeah. The peak in off Peak Street is an honorable mention as well. The little Kahuna is their favorite house burger. It's $10.50 two one third pound patties comes with scratch thousand island red. They're dressing along with a slice of American cheese, just simple and classic and they're open until 1 30 a.m. Oh, love that. Love that about a place. Yeah. We also have Knox Bistro, which is an honorable mention as well. It's a knife and fork type of burger that they want you to have here, but this is like a fancy. It's a classic rich French peppercorn cream sauce that's ladled over the patty. So they call it a full of love on the plate that they're doing on here. I texted my family about about two months ago, maybe six weeks ago. There was this festival in the Sunnyvale ISD campus area and these guys had a burger truck from Arlington. I got it. I have to get the name of it. Yeah, because we keep threatening like we're going to go to Arlington and find the actual restaurant. It was that damn good. Standby. Standby. Okay. 10 kenny's burger joint, which has locations in Frisco, kenny's is good for all, all their things. Yeah. Kenny's is a bunch of different burgers. Yeah. They're Italian restaurants. Yeah. Yeah. Rock and roll tequila. Yeah. They're like an old scale. I brought you guys some meatball subs from kenny's. Yeah. Very good. Yeah. You guys like good food. Yeah. Remember the square, the focaccia bread, the square bread with the balls on the bread. Yeah. Caccia, caccia, caccia, caccia, Hudson house comes in at number nine. We got some Texan. Hudson house also does weekdays, three to six. It's a happy hour burgers, only 10 bucks during the happy hour. They also do half price oysters. I've had the Hudson house burger. It's good. Isn't really classic. It actually is good because it's like a brunch spot for us over the way in Los Colinas area. Yeah, never tried the burger. The burgers were trying. And especially if you go for the happy hour, which I mean, we need a day off to be able to do that. Yeah. But it's worth it. And it's broadcast from there to be great hide bar, Greenville Avenue makes the cut as well opened in deep Ellen. They got caramelized beer onions beers are the burgers made from a blend of brisket and chuck. Oh, yeah. Chuck chuck pickles and garlic aola on a brioche bun. That's what they're serving on there is the burgers that wall chuck rose. Oh, yeah. That hide bar sounds delicious. Good friend beer garden and burger house East Dallas makes the cut. That's burger. Two six ounce smash patties double American cheese simply dressed with hupai mayo. I love this. Hupai. Is that the Japanese mayo? I think so. Yeah. They just smashing flavor into these freaking patties because these smash patties are just outstanding. I'll tell you what it is. Everything I see now is like smash burgers. I'll tell you what it is. It's that flat top. They cook all that stuff on that flat top and that flavor just sits right on top of that thing. And you just you push that thing down and you're getting all that flavor from all day of cooking. Yeah. It's money. I did unfortunately say I really I said only $10 a one seven if you're taking your family out the dude, you can find a burger for 10 bucks these days around here. That's a good deal. These burgers are they saying that 10 bucks is a bad deal? Yeah. I mean, well, when it's your happy hour, like, Hey, this is like our specialty price. You get 15 bucks typically. I'll save the five bucks. I was hoping your specialty price was going to be a single digit. Like $5. Yeah. Well, but subway is not doing the $5 footies. Exactly. I mean, it's it's tough. You go to water burger. How much you paying for a burger now, but still on to a sit down place. These burgers aren't cheap anymore. Yeah. Yeah. You shout out to chilis for their, uh, they do, chilis is a good deal rocking. They still have like the old fashioned the old timer, whatever that burger, old time with cheese. Yeah. Yeah. Cheeses is that it? That's a chilis thing. Right? That's a chilly thing. Verdi burger with guacamole on it. That was another good one back in the day. Six. We've got del's charcoal burgers in Richardson, drive by that all the time from 75 coming up here. Number 11, double meat, double cheese, mustard, lettuce, tomato, and tables in double, double burger. Right off your tongue. You know, exactly what it is. Right at home. It's delicious. Burger. Smurger. Where? At high fives, 18.04 McMillan Avenue. Okay. Never heard of this, but I like the name of it. Go for the maverick. Two patties with smoked bacon jam, help together with hope and a toasted buttery bun. I guess the hope is he's a so damn big, probably not holding it together. Baby. Then we got blackjack pizza. Yes. You can pull this about. Lucius. Yes. That is a sleeper right there. Now that is a good value. 650 for a single patty cheeseburger. And they say that their burgers pretty damn big pictures of these look absolutely divine. Blackjack pizza. Yeah. The burger. They got wings that are good. They have a full menu. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Where is this? This is off MLK Junior Boulevard. Yeah. Also have one on St. Augustine Road. I've heard about that. Yeah. Listen, say that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's good stuff over there, bro. Wow. Bistro 31 Highland Park Village comes in at number three uses a blend of whole brisket and chuck ground in house with some New York strips and filet mignon thrown in for good measure. See that right there, that's going the extra mile. That's not cutting any corners and that's a fancy one right there. That's flavor town. Number two is AT Bistro 8305 West Chester Drive. This is in University Park. They got high fat content dry aged meats that they're mashing up in their burgers and it's all smashed dial, but number one salt all good cafe 2934 Main Street. They started this in deep Ellen. It was an institution 20 years ago and now they've got a 10 ounce burger that doesn't mess around. They've melted white cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon and horseradish brine pickles from Huns, which supply pickles to a long list of Dallas restaurants. See, when I'm judging a burger, I just want to know how good is your patty. That's the thing. Right. Yeah. And what kind of a bun have you paired it with? Right. You know, because all the putting the salad on top, you know, those are, those are variables that, you know, are just kind of like how, how good did you source the lettuce? Not how good did you pack that flavor in the pack. Like the meat and the cheese and they got voted best cheeseburger in Texas. If you, if you're, if your patty decides to like the, I mean, the grease decides to kind of seep into the bun. I'm giving you high marks for that. When they go the extra mile of toast in that bun to just a little bit, buttering it. Get that grease in the bun with the patty. But if you are a pickle or tomato guy and you can, you can see the difference between a quality tomato laying on the lettuce or a quality pickle, you know, the best, the best fast food pickle going to the pop ice and it's a, it's a world of difference between all these other places. Sorry. Chick-fil-A, you know, but it's, it's just a different kind of pickle. Well, they're have that with their spicy sandwich. Thank you, old Chuck. Chef D's catering, by the way, some spicy sauce. I totally agree. Yeah. You want a fight? You want a fight for the damn breath? You go ahead and need some spicy marination or spicy sandwich. Well, I'm wrecking my here for the smiles. Chick-fil-A shirt. Damn it. Yeah, you're a lifer. You're a lifer here. All right. Yeah. Shout out to all say brother. Talk coming up next chief. What's in store? Yeah, we got a little hodgepodge here. Got some NFL sad stats and little week three GTS next year in the nation. Thank you very much. Lucius G back nation here on one oh five three. The fan. Hope you're having a great day. Loads of cowboys news will hit that coming up in the expressway at five 20. Here's chief with some sad stats. A sports hodgepodge and yeah, yeah, a little hodgepodge got some, got some sad stats in here. Also going to play a little week three GTS. So you guys keep your fingers away from your keyboards. But I did want to acknowledge just how sad I'm becoming the more and more I learn and hear from. We don't have burgers here right now. Well, there's that. Maybe hungry. I know. That was a really good. Every year, man. I wish I was Andy Reed right now eating that McDonald's burger. Yeah. Well, Mike Tyson talking about the upcoming fight. I mean, this just doesn't. Are you guys with me now? He's going to get rocked. Well, did you see what happened to him? Yeah. I mean, he got knocked down the first round late recently. I didn't see that. I mean, yeah, the age is like geriatric. This is a sentence this week from USA Today. This is a quote from Mike Tyson. He just said, it's hard to walk right now. Yeah. I know the feeling that's a real that's a sentence that this guy just said as he's gearing up for a fight. He does acknowledge that in two months from now, he's going to be perfect though. So he's two months away from perfection, but right now it's just, you know, it's hard to walk. And at that age off, off and ulcer, you know, I would imagine it is pretty tough to walk probably tough to envision yourself getting into a ring and taking punches. Maybe one of the most unforgettable lines he's ever uttered in the buildup to a fight. I want to eat your children. And from that, we have evolved to, I can barely walk right now. It's pretty remarkable, man. Okay. Week three. NFL. Guess the spread, we start with a woolly bully Thursday night football. The Patriots go to New York to take on the jets. Guess that spread for jets as the home favorite. Yeah. Yeah. Let's go. Let's go team and then let's also go with these teams. You kidding me? Oh, of course not. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not telling you. Next week, you might, I like the game either on Thursday night, Dallas and now I'm going to like that game. That's going to be 40 to nothing. Cowboys win. That's going to be a get right game. There we go. After the back to back. Yeah. Minus four. Give me the jets. Okay. Six pointer. That's a six pointer says Gavin Dawson, six pointer, Brian Braddis, two and a half, two and a half. Two and a half. Dawson wins six and a half. So jets are a six and a half point favorite tonight at home versus the Patriots, the box score and the Patriots over there. Uh, no. They played better than I think than I thought they would at least. And I think it was box score advice. See what you did. That's good. I thought that was kind of funny. Yeah. All right. Here we go. I'm not going to tell you my formula because then you actually have a chance here. I know because I think it is. Let's start with Dawson on this one. New Orleans welcomes Jalen hurts and the Eagles into town. No a J Brown on a short week saints a rocket in Roland. Guess that spread. No, we're clearly four new Orleans minus three. I think it's clearly four. Okay. Uh, I'll go. I'll go minus three new Orleans. I'll go saints minus five broadest wins saints minus two and a half, two and a half point favorites. Are the same. We should all go take saints two and a half. They're going to keep the Eagles ass. Nice job, Brian. Thank you. Good morning. Yeah. Yeah, you were. Uh, let's see. This box. How about this one? No, sorry. I can't watch, uh, 87 games a week. Yeah. I'll tell you what. Sunday, we were box. You have a TV package that you could if you wanted to. I know that's right. We have the battle of the two and those here Houston's going to Minnesota. Broadest. Guess that spread Vikings hosting the Texans. That is going to be Vikings plus two. Ooh, I like where your head's at there. Broadus. We'll check Vikings minus two. Okay. And Dawson pick them Vikings are a home dog, two and a half broadest wins again. This was a home dog after just being the same for him. Yeah, man. Yeah. That's the even in Darnell professional gambling. Yeah. I believe in in Darnell, and I am excited. I think it's more about the Texans. Yeah. The Texans have played two bad teams and they've struggled in both games. It wasn't like they were running away with some pretty victory. So I understand that now Joe mixing is not likely to play and I'm sensing Vegas mistake. I need to mix into play where I'd be all over the Vikings as a home dog right now with the Texans and home dog. Yeah. And the blitzes. Hey, off, I'm excited to see the Texans and how they and CJ Stroud, how he handles this Brian Flores Blitz package because it got, it caught an old party slip and a couple of times. Okay. Let's see here. What's another fun game we have the commanders. Yeah, the commanders. What's the commander spread? Who they got tonight? Yeah. They got Cincinnati, right? They're at Cincinnati. They're in Cincinnati. Cincinnati by a touchdown. Let's say, I have to say bingles, let's say bingles six, eight and a half, seven and a half. Yes. Are all right in the in the ballpark there. Yeah. But it's it's the double header. Monday night football extravaganza. What are we doing now? So you also have Jacksonville going to Buffalo buffaloes at home. Yeah. Guess that spread. Zach. We'll chuck. Six builds is a six point home favorite Dawson. Ooh, that seems a little rich. Let me get four and a half. Oh, you got me there Jacksonville plus four and a half. Yeah. That's exactly what it is. It's a four and a half point home favorite there for the bills Sunday night football in Atlanta on Arthur blank night free hot dogs and bags and chips. It's going to be nice. It's good for morale in the building. Atlanta's at home and the chiefs are coming to town. Oh, Kansas city plus three Kansas city as a road three point favorite says Zach. Is that fancy plus three or minus three? You see, I'm saying Kansas city is a three point favorite on the road. Okay. So you're saying Kansas city minus three minus three. Yeah. We sit plus. I said plus. Oh, you just make it sure. Oh my bad. I was watched dog. Thank you. I'm going to go. Atlanta is a four point home dog Atlanta is a three and a half point home dog on Sunday night. I guess three and a half. Yeah. And you nailed that one. How about this one Detroit going to the very frisky Arizona Cardinals Kyler Murray lighting it up Cardinals at home with the Detroit lions with a little bad taste in their mouth off the L. I'll take lines by three give me Arizona plus five. It is Arizona plus three three point home dogs to Detroit. Give me the Cardinals. I'd be all over there. How about Detroit being 25th in the sport as it pertains to passing expected points added through two weeks, but that's not very good. They're rushing and tech doesn't look quite the same as well. So we're watched dog in the Detroit lions. And then before we go to football's finest fellas, have we decided we have a triple bet payoff? Maybe you want to announce it coming up next in football's finest, but at some point we're going to have to commit to a Friday payoff live at Shakerton's in Arlington. I think I'm doing with the, I think I'm going to do the national anthem. Okay. I'm going to go live like that. That's a good question. Take a mic and sing actually sing it. Actually singers. I'm going to see. I'm going to make sure if we can get it through the loudspeakers in the building, but it's definitely going to be on the air and loud enough for everybody in there to have to, you know, watch me fight through that. Join us at Shakerton. So it'll be an enchanted show afternoon of broadcasting, a triple bet payoff. And yes, I will announce my payoff on the other side and we'll see if we can coax one out of broads as well. That's all coming up next right here. Post season baseball is here and it is the absolute best time of the year. I'm Rod Bradford of baseball's and boring and we're going to have you covered every step of the way with instant reactions from players and coaches and managers and fans and reporters and everybody else who is immersed in this awesomeness and all the craziness that comes with October baseball. So follow baseball is in boring in the free Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcast. 90 minutes left here in this edition of the G bag nation with the Rangers baseball coming up tonight at six 30 pregame seven o'clock first pitch against Toronto. Okay. Expressway is about 20 minutes away and we'll take you commercial free to the top Ellie live 540 time now for an addition to the finest year's chief. Okay. So I'm doing the Friday bet payoff at Shakerton's probably just going to go live with a national anthem rendition. So looking forward to that one. Do you have any singing background at all? No. No, I mean, one time I we did have you sing when we were on the nosebleed seats podcast and we were recording a cane to you and then it's raining men. No, it was the Divinals. I told you. Oh, that's right. That's right. There was. And it was hilarious. Now I do think the key to this is we need to make sure that there's no singing along with you. You have to be solo the entire time so we can hear all of this and the greatness that it will be. And in a strong military region like North Texas, you got to have reverence. No question. Yeah. And I don't know. We'll see. Maybe maybe a couple of beers in me at that point. We hit that in like the five o'clock hour or whatever it should probably make me feel a little bit better about the situation. I'm still open to ordering another little nitro gummy and having it here by Friday. So that brought us can do it for real, you know, but for real, see, I don't know what Dawson's got up his sleeve, but I know Friday's going to be exciting. We got my pay off. I'm going to go with the Mr. Misty, the liquidation event. We all get to bring our own mystery liquid and we get to spray it in your face anytime we want to, even if you're asking a serious question to Stephen Jones while he joins us on Friday. 100%. You like that? Yes. And I don't want to forget, by the way, and brought us, you could do this. We still have on the board what Dawson did last year. You can recite my awfully long, terrible question to see. I just, I just forgot that one. And then brought us or well, Chuck, could do that at some point this year, which would be wonderful to run that one back. Oh, God. I don't think I've ever been more nervous for a bet, pay off than that one. That's tough. That was epic. It's a band-aid ripper to some extent, big picture, you know, but in that moment, you might as well be talking for an hour asking the dumbest question in the history of questions being asked. So yeah, that one's that one's on the table there for you. We got after a win. Yeah. Maybe after that Giants game on that Friday, that could be a good day to do it. Of course, we could bring that taser that I got at home and we could tase brought us at Shakerton's if he's down or you can try the beads out this time that you have, Eric. Yeah. No, but this is supposed to be something that he doesn't like. Oh, that's right, Brian, I might eat a stick of butter. What? Oh, yeah. We might stick a butter on there. We have an eat a stick of butter. That's, I don't know if that was an honor of anything. It just sounded, I just, I'm just looking at the list. It does sound like eating challenges for Brian. They're too easy for them. They're right. They're off. I think that that one and honest day was another one I kind of liked. That's where you randomly prepped me with questions. You have to answer during the expressway. Yeah. Like, like we ask you questions and you have to answer them honestly, honestly, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That one, I mean, we can find out where some bodies are buried. People get air can be confused all the time, still on the text. I think I'm looking at, okay, the, okay, correct me, or help me with the ass hat with the diaper helmet. Yeah. That's where wall chug is at a full show or is that a segment wall chug gets to take a diaper into the bathroom and do it every once with it. Then you have to wear it on your head for the entirety of a five hour program. Oh, I thought it was just daughter or something like that. Oh, Brian. Okay. That's a little uncomfortable, please. Oh, no, I'm in. Yeah. I thought it was a baby diaper. A baby diaper. You know, you can just back off or I know, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't post it. That's my daughter. You'd rather wear a, a diaper on your head that had baby poo in there than wall chugs. I don't know about baby poo. I thought we were kind of thinking they're heavy. Yeah. Oh, just some urine. Yeah. I'm thinking of that. Oh, I don't think I can have that on my head for an hour. I mean, I can do it for now. I don't think me and wall should have taken turns peeing on that thing before it goes on your dome. You're out of your mouth. Okay. Well, they were not doing that. I'll bring the baby pee, but we're all sitting in it. You're just going to eat me a stick of Irish butter boys. Get ready for that. Now you don't get to pick the butter. This has to be disgusting. No, I know. It's Irish butter. I get to pick it. There's no more butter. He's getting a little fancy sweet butter that he can just luxurously enjoy over here. Brian, the point of these is to entertain the audience, not figure out the least painful way to get through the challenge. You guys have yet to figure out anything to make me painful. That's the problem with this thing. I love the crotch first conference. What about these nipple tasers then? Yeah, that's true. We could do the nipple tasers, but again, it's supposed to be something he's not going to like. Goes back to the beads. Gosh, dang. You're right. Are you going to whack on the bunion for a full segment? He said, we all get on the webcam. We're not going to take turns. Oh, God. Oh, I think that's it. Hosel, too. He just ripped off the cleat and the sock to show the ball in his foot. Yeah. Now, although this is disgusting for me, I don't like this idea, but that's what Brian's got to do. And we all just get to hit it with an hammer. I think there's a payoff involving somebody having to clip the toenail of the of the gout toe on broadest. Oh, geez. That would be. I haven't had that in a while though. I've been very fortunate. Oh, the gout? The gout. I haven't had it in a while or the the the bunion thing in a while. Well, oh, that's good news. I'm actually happy for you. Yeah. Appreciate it. Medicine for the stuff. Yeah. Thank God for it. Okay. So Friday, I guess we will be stick of butter is not that eating butter. Yeah. Stick a butter. It's on the list. You got to get that cheap ass butter to bro that 99 sin butter to what is real hard to bite through. Oh, okay. We should just don't be playing in the game now. I don't eat. That's what it needs to be. It needs to be some crappy. All right. Like a piece of air because you can't even taste any butter until you like swallow it. You know what I mean? Okay. So cheap. The 99 cent crumbly butter kind of unsalted unsalted. All right. That's what I'm going to do. 469 family dollar butter. Okay. A lot of people are once again worried about the health of butter. We know about your heart issues. If you want to get the nitro gummy round two. Let's go. Oh, okay. Yeah. You want to do that? I might. Yeah. I really might do that. I wouldn't mind running that one. Someone has the lotion brought us his feet. Oh, girls. That's really good. That's really good. That's a very special. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. Are you open to that? Can we throw that on the board? Somebody's rubbing lotion all over your feet on the fan cam? I would vomit watching that. That's a payoff for somebody else. Not you. You're just a part of it. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Sure. That's a bit of a payoff to me to witness. Yeah. Yeah. That's a puker. That's no one's going to eat. Okay. If you had to pick one for me to do, which one would you pick? Well, at some point, I want to get you in that Mrs. Doubtfire. I need, I need some time to pull that one together because I got to get the actual dress and the wig. Right? Yeah. No doubt. Yeah. And then, yeah. Okay. I'll work on that one. That won't be as difficult as you think. It's not? No. It's just, no, it's the right, it's the right way to throw out a bit of it. As my dad puts on his glasses. He's right around the corner, bro. We are in uptown. It's right around the corner, fam. They got you. He's walking there and tell them. We got you, Big Daddy. I'm just walking there and telling them what you need. Yeah. She had like a flowery dress, right? Oh, yeah. Oh, just the thing. He's going twirl. Just the size for you. All right. Well, Friday is going to be fantastic. I'm really looking forward to that. Okay. Now, we have a g-bag nation. You make the call here in a moment with some CJ Stroud sound. But I did want to do the quarterback myth-busting from Bill Barnwell. Did you see that? Everybody was sending around the stat about my homes, having so many interceptions overturned by defensive penalties. Like 17 or something like that. Yeah. Somebody alleged it was 17 and then Bill Barnwell was like, all right, let me go back and look and see since since my homes has been in the NFL, is he getting more fortune with some of these defensive penalties on plays where he throws interceptions as he being bailed out at a higher rate than other quarterbacks and Bengals fans were going nuts. And then Bill Barnwell did the work on it. And the result that he came to was that actually on a per pass attempt basis, it is Joe Burrow that is getting more of the overturned penalties saving him from interceptions than anyone including the homes. So Mahomes is like getting one of these for every 450 passes and Burrows is getting one of these for every 327 passes. So it's actually been myth-busted and then it's salt in the wound of Bengals fans because they find out it's actually their own quarterback. That is the one that's being bailed out of interceptions due to defensive penalties even more so than Pat Mahomes. So I thought that was a nice little project there from Bill Barnwell doing some quarterback myth-busting. Yes, I do believe we are in the early stages of the hate for the Chiefs starting. And I don't know if it'll ever get to a Tom Brady level. Mahomes is just more likable. But he's 29 years old. How long can you be dominant even as a super likable team, super likable coach before and maybe the Taylor Swift does things, but usually by the time you're this great, the country has decided at least half of it hates you and still like we're loving it, right? I don't see a lot of it, but maybe this is the beginning. Yeah, I think the Taylor Swift stuff, the Travis Kelsey stuff for sure, it's just like we're being inundated with Taylor Swift and yeah, all things Kelsey. And at some point, you're kind of like, all right, I'm a little overboard, pretty much done with this now. But I did see you have Nick Siriani doubling down on his late game and confidence that you see that. Yeah, he defended his decision to kick the field goal in the fourth quarter and he said there are plenty of charts that give recommendations, but he has even more conviction in his decision after studying it yesterday. So I don't know if he actually believes that or if he just, you know, some of these guys, especially when their seat gets toasty, they don't want to get to the microphones and accept much blame. Yeah, that's not the time you want to be studying that, you know, on the tail end of a loss, you know, you're going to just you want to get that figured out. Well, man, I figured I should get this figure to do. We want to feel goal or go for it. Yeah, fourth quarter with two minutes to go. I think this is the end for Siriani and I think that's an overall, that's that's a bad for the Cowboys. Like we want Siriani to go on like a Jason Garrett decade long long run there in Philly. Yeah. Yeah. I think so. And that same game you had Drake London catching the game winning touchdown pass, but then he did the gun celebrations and so he was flagged and flag for that. Yeah. I love what Raheem Morris did with quite the quite the PR spin here. When asked about it, the head coach of the Falcon said, Drake is a great kid. His intent was not as a use of a weapon. When he did the finger guns, he probably was shooting t-shirts into the stands to be honest with you. I just don't like how they're, you know, violate my constitutional rights. Don't talk about man. Damn amendment, bro. Yeah. What do you mean? Don't you know where we are? How does it have an endorsement deal? That celebration brought you by a sick sour. Yeah. Honestly, they should be capitalizing on this. Yeah. I like this as a, as a fun little on pace for stat, Bijon Robinson's on pace to have almost 2,000 total yards on the season, but he's also on pace to have zero touchdowns this season. He still can't find a way to get him in the end zone, but he is absolutely nasty. He's racking up the fantasy points, even without scoring touchdowns. But I feel like Kyle pitches a weapon as well should, should be for sure. I mean, that's been one of those weird ones, his whole career dude was supposed to be absolutely awesome. I think Kirk's going to find him. I think Kirk's going to put him on the map big time. Yeah. I'm looking forward to a little Sunday night more, more Kirk on prime time. Can you go back to back weeks with Kansas City coming to town? Here's Jim Harbaugh talking about his assistant coaches. And this is your Jim Harbaugh football guy. Quote of the day brought to you by Jim Harbaugh. He's a great coach. I mean, one of the best I've ever been around, you know, like Moses, I'm going to die leaning on my staff. Mm. That's a bar right there. That's a bar from old Jim Harbaugh, faith family football, man, that's a guy that gets even. It's probably more like football, football, football, faith, football, family, football, family, football and Campbell, really, because a lot of people were thinking like, Dabo's probably kicking himself that he didn't bust that line out. Yeah. Yeah. Dabo would be the one. That was, that was Harbaugh said that. Yeah. That was our guy, Jim. Oh, Jim. Okay. Here is some, here's some post Sunday night football sound. This is C.J. Stroud after beating Caleb Williams and the Bears, meeting the quarterback at midfield as they tend to do post game, not Jersey swapping, but sharing some advice. Now G bag nation, you make the call is C.J. Stroud being patronizing here to the rookie, Caleb Williams. Good job out there, bro. Yeah. Keep going. Stop taking those hits. Yeah. Okay. Learn from, learn from those mistakes and everything that you got, bro, is in you already, bro. You're going to be held the player in his lead. All right, boy. Michelle. Okay. Stop taking those hits. I think that's great advice. Yeah. Taking those hits. But also get your friend office to get you some offensive lineman. Yeah. And a play call would be good. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if I really want the veteran coach up post game after losing to a guy that's only been in the league for a year, right? Yeah. In the moment, I'm sure Caleb Williams. That's why he's probably trying to walk off and see just like, no, come here, come here. Like big, big, big picture. Good advice. I'm sure you remember RG three doing that to Tony Romo back in the day. Hey, you're a great quarterback. Don't listen to anything. Those guys say about you. I'll never forget that. But that's also a younger guy, older guy, which is even that's way of patronizing. Yes. Yeah. But I get it, man. This is a second year guy. And it's like learn from your mistakes. Like obviously, dude, come on, you should have just left it at, hey, don't take all those. Yeah. How many more hits I could have taken. I was dancing around a lot. Yeah. It's problematic right now with the bears. There's no question about that. And then I saw here from the action network, apparently, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been voted the NFL's most annoying player. So congratulations. Five players from other players on that wonderful award. No, this is a public voting situation. So do you want to guess who was the runner up? Well, JJ Watts, I would say Kelsey who Travis Kelsie, that's really good. Yes. As annoying. Yeah. Russell Wilson. That's a really good call as well. It's Kelsey as the silver. And then it's actually Odell Beckham, Jr. as the bronze medalist here for even played a snafish. Most annoying play. No, probably won't probably will collect a check without running a single route this season. Yeah, dude. It's a good way to get it right there. Nice job, chief. Yes, sir. Here we go. In addition to the finest, most afternoons, five o'clock here in the G bag nation. Okay. We have a Cowboys Ravens injury report and a couple of controversial type questions I can ask you about your football team here next to the nation. Yeah. Welcome back. It is the G bag nation on 105 three the fan time to hit the expressway where we take a commercial free to the top LA live Lucius Alexander coming up here in 16 minutes. Chief just threw out that it's Southern leisure. If he's got to do a bet payoff, he will sit in the cold tub for an entire segment. I think that might trigger a cardiac event, dude. Are you sure you want to go that far? I would be down to do it. Southern leisure spots in patio. They have the ultimate cold plunge where there's like ice chunks floating around in there. It's like you might as well be swimming in Arctic waters. You're supposed to go in there for like three to five minutes. I'll go in there for a full 15 her. If I have to do a payoff at that point, probably one I think I'm about to go on a run here. But at the same time, I don't think anybody's going on a run. I think we might have multiple payoffs every week as the real power settles in. I think parodies at an all time high. This might be the strangest lady that the NFL has ever been. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Let me look. I picked the Chiefs every week or I don't know what the hell is going to happen. I looked up Mrs. Daltfire. This is got possibilities. We got a Rangers day game tomorrow. You might need some shopping. Here you go. Yeah. In Arlington. Okay. We'll see it. We'll see a Friday at Barlington. We want to hang out and celebrate some bet payoffs with you, but it is a back to work Wednesday for your Cowboys. And we have the Cowboys Ravens injury report and a lot of interesting topics here before we get to LA live in about 15 minutes. The expressway is brought to you by the on time experts segments brought to you by soda that's state of the art and by cars for kids, donate today at carsforkids.org. Number of players here, Trayvon Diggs has a foot DNP, CD lam DNP ankle, but I did see that they, that's nothing. Mazi Smith DNP with a back though, Brian. What can you tell us? Yeah. No, I just, I did, I did get about the foot in the ankle. There was, as you said, there's just some soreness and both those guys were going to be fine. Okay. That's a revolutionary thing. With Mazi, I just, I heard that it was back tightness. So don't know much more than that from whatever back tightness, probably good to go in four days. Yeah, I'd say so. Yeah, probably, but probably he was walking, you know, I think if you have a back deal and you're like, crap, I'm down on the ground, it's going to be a little before I get back up. I don't like that. Yeah. Yeah. But I think if you're walking, I do expect you to play, but it's not a guarantee because backs can get tricky, but cooks is limited, Ferguson is limited, I guess that's good news, is kind of back. Malik Hooker, our guy, Eric Kendricks, who will join us tomorrow at 520 for the Cowboys player show, Tank was limited, but that was just a rest day. Same with Jordan Lewis and Zach Martin, although he's got a little bit of a knee. Unbelievable. That wasn't worse. Oh, gosh, I thought that was, I thought I didn't look good. Not a season flash. Yeah. It's the worst one. When you're losing big, I think you want to leave some players out there for incentives. But unless there's like a big payday on the line that they're chasing, I got to get my guys out of there a little bit quicker than they did this last time around. Let's see what you're doing there. I like it. Okay. For the Ravens, their guard, Laulu is all I can say, I think from his name, a Jalen armor, Davis cornerback, DNP, Kyle Hamilton, safety DNP, Ronnie Stanley, tackle DNP, Colvin Noy outside line backer did not go and Nate Wiggins cornerback did not go with a neck concussion situations. So neither team is super injured or feeling really good about how they are playing. But you know, listen to Brian's breakdown earlier in the 340, if you want to go back and listen across these corner on this Ravens offense, they do both things that the Cowboys struggle with. They're a physical offense and they use misdirection a lot, a lot of motion. My question, big bodies. They use a lot of big bodies is what they do. Yeah. Yeah. Jumbo packages look like they're going to run and they throw out of that and play action. That's where the big plays can really happen to you. Will Mike Zimmer's reputation as a, as a good coach who has the answers be alive when we come on air Monday or are we heading for the second straight blowout and talking about Zim now? I'm going to hold the fort here that you can't judge Zimmer off the first couple of games, but I have a feeling the fan base is ready to turn on them already guys. What do you think? Oh, the fan base is definitely ready. It can get, it can get loud on you real quick. If you go back to back home games and yeah, and especially if you don't look competent, you know, if you can at least be competitive in this game, you can feel like at least some step in the right direction. It's not a good matchup. And Lamar Jackson in his career versus NFC teams teams that only get to see him once every few years. Only lost one game. He's 20 and one. Yeah, one loss was at New York a couple years ago. So like when these teams come in here, like the Cowboys who don't usually see this type of offense and this type of quarterback, it's usually catches you off guard. So but I don't expect them, I don't expect them to come out there and play the same way. Like I expect this to be a much closer game, better be buttoned up. The one thing I've always talked about with Mike is they don't give a big place and what they do last week, they gave up a ton of big play. They did. They got beat up up front and he knows that, you know, he's got to find ways to keep his linebackers clean. But they got to be buttoned up better. You know, they can't allow these huge plays and I mean buttoned up. You've got to find a way not to let this quarterback like read option you to death, you know, and stuff like that. You got to be, you know, guys, they talked about, we talked about young players playing live foul overshone. All these guys that get the opportunity is quarterback will embarrass you. If you're not playing where you need to be, Jerry even talked about guys with Sean and RJ, I believe, you know, out of position. You can't be out of position against these guys. If you do, you're going to get, you're going to get embarrassed. I feel like that comes from when you're getting run all over and you kind of got to, you know, take some risks to now stop the run and then you're really out of position. You can't jump around gaps and stuff and not that it was, I mean, I didn't see a ton of that. I know Jerry brought it up. I didn't see a ton of jumping around. I saw guys not getting taken on blocks like they were already half beat getting, you know, when they're running and they're trying to get past the block instead of taking a guy on square that guy, the guy is on them like half of them or, you know, they, they're just behind the block. You can't be behind the block and play against these guys. You can't be behind the block and play against anybody, no, especially in the Ravens are no different. I mean, this is definitely a game that they can win if they find a way to say, Hey, we can stop the run. And right now there isn't a whole lot of optimism that they can do that until they prove it. Yeah. I said, if I was the Cowboys, if I was Mike, I would play this heaviest box. You can play and dare them to throw the ball. And if they could do that, if they beat you, throw on the ball, then you know what? Hey, tip your cap and move on. But I'm not going to let them run the ball down my throat. Yeah. And you're going to have an angry Derek Henry coming in here. It was all out. He was talking about how he wanted to be a cowboy two yards a carry. Never physical guy lives in the area and look under McCarthy, they've been really good following losses. I think it was like 21, two or something along those lines, but it's such a bad matchup. This is it is. This is this is one that preseason, I think we were looking up and that was an easy you chalk it up as an L. Yeah. It's an opportunity to change the narrative. If you're if you're Mike Zimmer, I just don't believe in the personnel. You know, I think you're you're doing that because you don't recognize and you're not good enough to recover. You're not athletic enough to recover. You don't have many good linebackers, any experienced linebackers and you have bad defensive tackles. You know, and if you're the the Ravens coaching staff, if you're anybody in the NFL right now, you got to be looking at Holy Cup, the Cowboys can't stop the run. Yeah. You know, just do a Buffalo did to you where they just felt like they ran every play. So I think the Cowboys opportunity is to be able to score back with them. You know, and that's that's where I think really the pressure goes on because we know what the Cowboys defensive kryptonite is. We know the Ravens are bringing it to the party. We can hope they way over achieve and have this great game plan and take big risks and get some turnovers and the more at Jackson plays horrible, those things could happen. But the the real way you should be staying in this game is by a scorn with them. And yeah, I don't know. I, you know, if if I have confidence in the Cowboys can get to 30, they need to be able to throw the football and and they need. I mean, Dak and CD, you know, CD showing up today sounds like it's not something that's serious on the injury report, but Dak and CD need to be having one of their best games. Jake Ferguson needs to play Brandon Cooks needs to be available and find himself some more targets. Jalen Tolbert has to carry. I mean, that that's secondary has been susceptible through two games. Menchoo and Adam's ate them up. So you'd like to think Dak and CD can find success. Yeah, absolutely. You know, it's it's possible. There are names in that secondary though, good players and it's it's not going to be a lot of one on ones. You know, I just I feel like we've seen it for so many years that when the defense can get your run with bare minimum, what Dak's going to be looking into is totally confounding form. Okay. Next question. Michael Parsons talking more about leadership here guys and the more he talks leadership, the more I wonder if this is a bad fit, you know, as far as this being the guy that's banging the drum and trying to keep guys accountable everywhere I turn now, he's talking about, I got to keep this guy accountable and, you know, I'm the leader of the team. You know, he's he's clearly an alpha, but it's like when Greg Hardy showed up, he was an alpha too, and he led guys in a bad direction. Now, Micah is not nearly as toxic. He's not nearly as, you know, controversial obviously. I think Micah's heart is in the right place. He's trying, but the more he asserts himself as the leader of the defense, the worse the defense is getting. He's going the wrong direction, we saw at the end of last year in the off season, significant tension in the room. You know, I think leadership is just massively important. And here's a quote from Micah Parsons today. This is just kind of in tune with, you know, the theme of what he's been talking about. At some point, all 11 got to have the same mindset. And that's just toughness. You talk about who you want to be and all this other stuff, but you've got to go out there and be it. And it can't just be one guy. It can't be two guys. It's all 11 guys. It takes everyone. I affect the linebackers. The linebackers affect the DB's. We aren't all synchronized. Now, this is a normal quote from a sports leader. But what if he's not a leader? What if it's somebody that is annoying to the teammates? What if it's somebody that isn't the hardest worker in the off season? And this dude's trying to put out in public like he's the leader of y'all. That's, that is not a recipe for good chemistry at all, Wolchuck. I know. I think the professionals inside that defensive locker room are keeping this story minimized. But it definitely boiled over on Radio Row when we had to find Gilmore and Brennan Cooks and tank was on on Sports Center that day, talking with Stephen A Smith about it. There were some clear signs that maybe this locker room was, was disconnected and you know, I think, you know, leadership is massively important here. I don't think Michael Parsons is the guy. If I'm the coaching staff, I want to find somebody else. I want to find somebody else to be that straw that stirs our drink in that, in that defensive side. Okay. Nothing there. No bites there, guys. No, I mean, it's very difficult to give up a talent of that caliber as an edge rusher that gets after the quarterback on the defensive side of the football. But I think you've got to think long and hard when you're talking about paying a guy and we know who his agent is. And he's one of the best, if not the best in the business and David Mulligator, he's going to get his guys money. Yes. And he might break the bank for richest contract by a defensive player in NFL history. If you're committing that amount of money, I better be getting miles here at TJ Watt. But I need to see a guy that you're not racking up all your big moments against the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants, right, in the Washington commanders on Thanksgiving. The same knocks that you want to give to the quarterback, your best defensive player has not shown up in those big games either. And especially when things start going south defensively, you haven't seen him answer the call and be a guy that says this is unacceptable. We're not playing to our standard and he comes up with a big play either. So those expectations should be there for a guy that gets that amount of money and he needs to go out there and answer those questions. A guy that talks about being a leader isn't a leader. You don't talk about it. You just are. And he's constantly talking about, right, right. He's constantly talking about it. And then in the same breath, as you mentioned, like not showing up for all the possible work days in the off season, you know, like just something simple like that. And if the guys don't feel like that he is the type of guy that puts the work in the same way, then it's really highlighted when he doesn't have a great game. Like you then you better grow out there and tear it up, dude. That's the only way that you can do this. And then when you have games like this week where he's lending voice to, wow, they found a way to neutralize me, you know, and it's like, okay, how many teams are going to find ways to neutralize you? And then you want to keep going and talking about all these things that you need to do. It's like, how about you just just show it on the field a little bit, you know? Yeah. Yeah. No, I think there's a lot going on here. And it'll be interesting to see how this thing evolves in the future. But, you know, it's, it's been a situation, I think with the Cowboys for a while that they haven't had a really great defensive leader. I can't think of the last one. Right. I was thinking the same thing. It's like, man, he wasn't even like there was somebody that could pass the baton to him a little bit. Like he never got to see it really like, okay, that's what it looks like. Yeah. It's probably Sean Lee, though. Yeah. That's the last one I can think. Yeah. And the issue with Sean was he couldn't stay on the field. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe Barry Church, you know, but not an elite player. But a very good professional did things the right way. A panther's not considering trading the bench young, their quarterback. I would, I would be open minded to it if somebody called me up and blew me up. But I want to try to fix the team and then, you know, put them in a situation where we got to run game and weapons before it's all it's going to take to get the deal done. Yeah. Yeah. That was a big deal. I don't love back at practice in my place on day. Wojc has retired from a double dog, dare you to trade it to me. Wojc has, if you get your best three over here, you're making some bad trades. Hey, no, but listen, for, for Carolina though, right now, of course, you got to say you're not trying to trade. You don't want to just immediately let everybody know you're open for business. But I think it's very, very clear that you are. Yes. Oh, yeah. They're willing to. It's just like how. And you hope it doesn't get leaked. How low are you willing to go on compensation here? But it seems like a foregone conclusion. That's it. That's a guy who's going to get moved. If any team even wants him, you know, maybe the dolphins are a team that find themselves like we could use somebody like that. But I do think that Carolina will be absolutely ready to move on from him. So Nick Harris tweeted that Jordan Phillips wrist injury landed him on the IR and he said, I don't know. That's above my pay grade. You have to ask the people making the decisions. Nick Harris, star telegram, he followed it up saying Phillips is dealing with a sprained wrist. And the team is airing on the side of caution considering he's coming off a December surgery to that same wrist, a team official said. But it looks like, you know, one of those fancy type of injuries that give them a little bit of latitude on how they can shuffle it. Is he done playing with the Cowboys? You think it wasn't that bad? You know what? Yeah. Yeah. He was, he was not very good. When you get in a situation now where you put a guy on IR for four weeks, it's all about now negotiating, you know, an injury settlement and getting him off off the books, Rangers back out of the night with Cody Bradford on the hill against the Blue Jays, Thursday, tomorrow, it's a day game with Kumar Rocker on the hill at 135. Please tune in. Make us part of your day Friday against the Mariners. You're going to have a Jacob de Grom on the hill with a 630 pregame there. So a lot of, you know, fun baseball times are ahead. It's time now to go into the Pimp Cup. Here's Lucius with LA line. You almost pulled a full brightest. Remember this? Everybody's telling me that Dan Campbell is going to get that job in Detroit. Yeah. I'm seeing that that, that, that he blew a Spillman Rick Spillman. Get that job. What? He means necessary. People are telling me this happened, but for Daddy on, oh man, hey, so yesterday you guys talked about the Steelers gave Russell Wilson the game ball. Yeah, the petty game, petty game, petty game ball. I said, though, Justin Fields has got to be saying that wrong. It's got to be like, you know, the, the pity ball because Russell didn't play. Yeah. No, man. In Pittsburgh, you get the petty ball when you beat the team you used to play for. I love it. There we go. Good bet. You get that out last night. All right. Let's get into a, what is this? A hump day. So, hump day is the hump day that I love, right? Let's get into it. We're humping. But I want you to swear, it's time to smoke. I need a massage, but a fire up this pump can get out of the tub. It'll make you dance, some of everything. Everybody get high. Riverside, Illinois. Good morning. Good morning. Um, Mr. Murphy, I was just wondering if you feel that there's a resemblance. Call our head. No idea what you're talking about. Uh, do you feel that there's a resemblance between your tubes and the hair on your head? It's what Nick, please. Trola's Z-SPAN right there. Trola's Z-SPAN. You know what? They just accepted and move on, don't they? Man, they're so good at it, brother. They are. They just take an insult. The cameras directly in their faces. All right. It's kind of dull there. Line three. Let's go up. Next one. They never laugh a little bit. They just kind of look at them. Okay. Dex call will be. Yeah, they just go on. Yeah. They just take it, bro. They just take it. Yeah. This is LA Live for Wednesday, September 18, 2024. It is a butt naked Wednesday here in LA Live. Word to Miss Badu and Peace to the Gods. Every Wednesday in LA Live is dedicated to Miss Badu. Miss Badu. Tell me. I love you. Man. It's called butt naked Wednesday because years ago, Miss Erica Badu, Dallas' own, came up with the phrase, while explaining to people that pretty soon, female artists and entertainers will be selling nothing but skin to stay relevant and stay in the business. That is a fact, because if you look around right now, they all shake it in a little bit. They're chicken baskets. Yeah, they sure are. They all shake it in a fish basket. They yell. Whittling that junior bacon cheeseburger for their attention. I saw this new trend in LA where they're wearing their skirts so low that their panties just fully show. Oh, glory. Yeah. I was like, "Hey, you like my panties?" I don't know what you're talking about. What am I outfit? Man. It's wow. It's semi that, because that's crazy. Yeah. I can't believe they're doing it. That's crazy, man. Listen to Miss Badu explaining this. This is for the people that just don't know. So you know the next time I say it next Wednesday, you know? As hot as the button plant, you really want to rock somebody's world and make it into this business. You got to get your ass in a plant, get you some calf implants too, if you're going to be wearing them stilettos and you've got the rest of that. You got to, I don't care how you got 12 and 11, you got to do it. Create your own publicity, do some whole sh*t, you know? Do it. Do some whole sh*t. If you are a woman, you have to talk as another woman and if you want to make it, you got to do it. You have to. Just be black naked somewhere. But naked with glitter on you and the people. I mean, that's the one I thought of as I figured, you know, some ideas can do that. It's show up with your long hair and your breasts and make sure your cleavage is down to here. At least we're going down to here now because in 2006, it's Badnaked Winstance. Winst, Badnaked Winstance? Yes, she explained it. You got to do it. She said, do some whole sh*t. Sh*t out to Uncle Sh*t. Sh*t out to Uncle Sh*t. Sh*t. He didn't do it with some whole sh*t. I'm trying to sell them peels. G bag of the day, we do it every week down the fan at 2.30 if you see any day floating out there. Don't be afraid to hit me up. @luckylooshispeel on social media. Sands is going to join us in about 15 minutes. Tell you what you need to know about this Rangers Ball Club. But here's Wolf Chuck with your proper round tripper. Brought to you by Uber Eats. Yes. Rangers got themselves a victory last night. It'll be Cody Brad for the lefty on the bump tonight against Bowden Francis of the Toronto Blue Jays. I do want to tell everybody once more though that if you want an opportunity to go check out Cosm, which is the best place to go watch a game. If you ask me, they've got a new location, a grandscape in the colony. It's an immersive technology, media and entertainment company, 65,000 square foot. Absolutely crazy 8K LED screen. It's a dome-like concept. Think the sphere in Vegas. But now we've got it here locally in the colony of grandscape. They've got shows like Oh, by Cirque du Soleil. But I highly recommend the college football options that they've got. They'll also have English Premier League events that you can go watch UFC fights. Of course, I'm sure as we roll around through the NBA and the NHL, they'll have that as well. So if you want a chance to go odyssey.com/105 through the fan slash contest, you can enter for your chance to experience Cosm highly recommended. But let's get to the baseball, shall we? How about Colleville Heritage Zone? Bobby Whit Jr. He has become the first shortstop in Major League Baseball with multiple 30, 30 seasons. He achieved this a couple of days ago when he swiped second base in the first inning of a game against the Tigers. So 30 homers, 30 steals already among the faces of Major League Baseball at such a young age. Royals, two and a half games behind Baltimore for the first AL wild card spot, one and a half ahead of Minnesota for the second. Right now he's got them in the playoffs. And that was an organization that was floundering prior to drafting him. I'm surprised that, you know, the power that we've had a power hitting revolution at shortstop post Cal Ripken Jr. that nobody's done it before. But it's definitely a cool accomplishment. Great athletes at shortstop. We have. Yeah. But you're right. I mean the home like Corey Seager amongst a lot of the home run records right now when it comes, especially the left handed shortstop. But Bobby Whit Jr. An absolute piece must watch. And then you got. Are you down with Seager back at first base though? I am down for that. Yeah. Yeah. I'm absolutely open to that move 100%. Show Hay still chasing 50/50. He says he's not feeling the pressure when it comes to this. There's no pressure. I'm just trying to maintain quality at that regardless of the situation. It's something I've been trying to do over the course of the season. Well, he went ahead and hit home run number 48 last night and this was in an 11 to 9 win over the Miami Marlins. So he has 48 homers, 48 steals. He's got 11 games left. He trails only Aaron judge for the major league leading home runs. Judge has 53 and he trails only Ellie Della Cruz for major league steals who has 64. So he's second in steals, second in homers, the dude's an absolute piece. 11 games left. He needs two more homers. Two more steals. You think he's getting in? Yeah, I do. I think so too. I think this is kind of a dramatic guy. I say yes. I think he goes to the final. Yeah. The final bag. He's got the final bag of the year. I need one. And then that eloquent swing and just into the into the Los Angeles night. Yeah. Let's go. Yankee slugger. Juan Soto has also now accomplished a milestone. He has omered in all 30 major league baseball stadiums. He has checked off that box. Quite the milestone for him. He launched his 40th home run of the season and the Yankees blow out victory over the M's. And that was the last ballpark T-Mobile Park in Seattle. The last one he needed to check off the list. That's done. He's done it. That is a big yard to one so now cool weather. Making it happen. All right. We all hate Hosel too. They didn't go by himself. But the last night was actually probably one of the funniest ejections we've seen since Adrian Belltray went ahead and moved the the on deck circle. Is that showing up a pump? Is that what this is all about? Yeah. Yeah. I mean they didn't like it. But it's the two big rounds out. He's the third and final out of the ninth. But he insisted that he fouled the ball off of his foot. So during this you've got manager Joe Espada of the Astros out there arguing with the umpire Brendan Miller. And then Hosel Toovey goes over to first base. He rips off his cleat and his sock and he walks over limping to the umpire and he's pointing down at his foot like look at this. Look at this. Sometimes you get hit somewhere in the hand and you take your batting glove off to show you got it. Yeah. I was expecting you to do the same thing here says Hosel Toovey. Yeah. And it works. I do think it's the umpires perceiving they're being shown up by a frustrated player, you know. You have replay. You have the mark on his foot. I just want umpires to be less emotional and more rational in these situations. The guy was trying to help you get the job right and you threw him out of the game for it. You can see it here. I'm hurt. Look at this. He beat. He walks right up to the barefoot and then just bends all the way down and points to it just pointing and then the and then he gets ejected and then he goes to the other umpire and does the same thing. He's walking around the entire diamond like look at the barefoot just just limping. If I was the umpire I would have whispered in his ear after that trash can stuff. I'm looking for every opportunity to screw you guys over. Yeah. Get your ass out of here. I like that. That makes it even better. I mean it is it is interesting that he is willing to show his barefoot but he wasn't willing to take a shirt off or the jersey off that one time. The first thing I thought of. That's great. His wife doesn't care if he shows off his feet but just not his chest. Must not be a foot woman. Yeah. I guess not. I mean some dudes are more like some dudes would rather take their shirt off as opposed to show their feet, you know. But Jose is clearly not one of those guys. Jose is, you know, very conservative in that regard. Shout to the Brewers. They've flinched their third National League Central title in four years. The Cubs lost to the A's and that allowed the Brewers to wrap up the division crown. So this is going to be their six post season birth in seven years. Pretty big accomplishment for them. They haven't made the playoffs that consecutively since the 80's. So congratulations to the Milwaukee Brewers. Got to go back to the Paul Molotory years. Sure do. Sure do. And then MLB as we wrap up around the bases brought to you by Ubride says, gossage up there in Milwaukee. The goose in the 80's. I know he's with the Yankees. Who's gossage? Yeah. That's a pull right there. But MLB says the A's games in Sacramento are a certainty despite concerns about the stadium playing conditions. Majorly baseball is like, we got to play somewhere and we're out of damn options. What's wrong with the park in Oakland? Figure it out. They just, they're done with, I think Oakland's done with it too. Yeah. We want to move, but we got to rat and God knows what up. I know. This is a 14,000 seater here that they're going to be playing. And I doubt they can even fill that up. Wow. And there's some type of a problem with, didn't we say the heat or humidity or something? Something's not right there with this park that there's something that they have to, that they're really worried about playing there. It's in Sacramento. Nobody wants to be there. Well, there's renovations underway and they're hoping that they'll be ready for opening up. And there was something wrong. Chief, I thought you did a story about this story. I thought they'll do a story about this park, that there's something that, that they're going to have to overcome that's not very good. Yeah. I think it is. It's the summer heat in that Sacramento area is extraordinary. Okay. Yeah. So you can get up to 120 to 130 degrees in your shoes because you're absorbing the heat. There you go. Yeah. You know, it's basically like Nevada at that point. You're in the desert. And, you know, very comfortable Southern California on the coastline. What's wrong with this? Sutter health park. Well, thank you. Well, Chuck. Thank you. Proper round trip or brought you by Uber Eats most night, six o'clock here in the nation. We're back to chat with Jared Sandler here on the fam. Yeah, buddy. I mean, I guess I've been around long enough to know that, you know, the minute you think something's like set in stone, like sort of like a Jacob de Grom type of situation, I guess I could see a scenario in which, let's say they go and sign Rokie Sasaki and I don't know, maybe they bring back a Volody and now you're looking and you're like, oh, the bullpen's kind of bare and we're going to have Cody Bradford start the season as a multi-ening reliever and then, you know, know that you're likely going to end up working him into the rotation when someone goes down. I guess that would be the scenario by which he's not, but I just think this guy's been so good that, you know, short of any sort of injury, you got to, when you do your exercises to project things throughout the off season, he's got to be projected as a starter. I would say, you know, Cody Bradford probably is, you know, ahead of John Gray in that regard, you know, and that's no disrespect to John Gray, but you got a young guy in Bradford who, you know, you can grow and, you know, he's, you're not paying him a ton of money and, you know, if he can make 30 starts for you, gosh, that's a heck of an ROI. Jared, you mentioned the off season in like big questions. What about the catcher spot? Like, that feels like a pretty giant question right there. What do you think the thinking is with Jonah and Kelly and maybe some other guys? Yeah, I mean, I think the thinking is that, you know, overall you've got to get better collective production out of that spot and, well, you know, no, no, no, Doug, Jared, but like, you know, a lot of times you look at a position and you think of the player who's going to man that position, right? You need better production from a Dolly's. You need better production from young. You need better production from whomever. But I think that the Rangers have to look at the catcher spot just as a collection of, you know, whether it's two guys or maybe two guys and then a guy in AAA who, you know, is insurance. So whether it's Kelly and Heim or Heim and someone else or Kelly and someone else are two totally different guys. They just in general have to get more production. I think they'd like to bring Carson Kelly back. He's having a really good year. So, you know, the market for catchers always exists and that doesn't necessarily work in the Rangers favor in that regard. But you've got to be prepared that Jonah Heim is not your everyday guy the way that he has been in years past that, you know, he's a guy that maybe he's your 1A. So maybe he starts 90 games or so, but you want to keep him fresh and, you know, I think coming off the year that he's having this year, you know, I think it'd be tough to justify planning on giving him 110 starts or so. Jared, did he just get wore down? Was it one of those things where they just, there was so much that they needed him so badly at the end of the season and through the run and then they just used him up? Yeah, I mean, that's definitely possible. I mean, he's, you know, he's a big guy, right? And so, I mean, it probably his workload for a catcher isn't common no matter what your size is. But the thought, you know, always was that the bigger catchers had a tougher time sustaining health and strength throughout a season and, you know, even beyond that behind the plate now. The other thing brought us is, you know, he was never a guy, like when the Rangers traded for him, the thought was, hey, this guy is really, really good defensively. We're not sure if he'll ever hit enough to be your everyday, you know, starting catcher. Well, then he ends up being an all-star and, you know, had a really good offensive year and obviously tumbled a little bit after the wrist injury, but, you know, up into that point, he was a guy that if you stuck fifth or sixth in the lineup that made sense. And I don't know that that was expected. So I don't know who he is offensively. I don't think he is as bad as he's been this year. I think he's better than that. Is he last year's, Jonah Haim? I don't know either. So it's probably a combination of things, but I do think he's worn down. It happened last year and obviously it's happened again this year. How amazing is this finish of the season for Wyatt Langford? You know, guys, we talk about this in sports a lot when you got a young player and you're projecting out and you're saying, well, yeah, but yeah, but gosh, he's going to be really good, right? You know, it's going to happen. And I think it's tough to, I think it's easy to say that. And I think it's easy to know when you remove yourself from it like, yeah, that makes sense, right? You know, 22, he's not going to be able to show everything. But I think it's tough to see it sometimes when you look at the back of the baseball card and the numbers tell a certain story, but you know, there are guys that get paid way more money than us to evaluate these things. Well, we're seeing it now. I think what we've seen here in September is what, you know, you're going to see a lot more of next year. And I think something has clicked. The experience, the, you know, the challenges have helped. And I think this is, if you want to look at what Wyatt Langford could be next year, take a look at what he's done in September. And I think this is the type of guy that you can expect. Bang, bang. Thank you very much. Jared will catch up with you tomorrow after the game. All right, fellas, take care. There he goes.
