So follow baseball as I'm Boring in the free Odyssey app, or wherever you get your podcast. (upbeat music) - Yeah, buddy, here we go. It's hour number one of the G-Bag Nation here on an overreaction Cowboys Monday at 877-881-105-3. The Franklin Franklin Injury Attorney Text Line is open for ya, and please leave your name and city your texting from, I don't know what you could say, you know, that would be an overreaction at this point. Everything seems pretty logical to me if you're saying the Cowboys are the same as last year. I mean, how far could you take it? What kind of an overreaction do you have? General at your service, there's Brodus. He's breaking the film already, and he has Crusty's corner coming up at 340. He'll have a batch of takeaways there. Lucius Alexander is in the Pimp Cup at Mass Control here, 75 and fits you. Of course, Wulchuck and Chia Follow, Carter Freeman's coordinating your video, and along with you, we are the G-Bag Nation here on 105-3, the fan. Have Attaboys, what do you say? I mean, we do have a double-vet payoff coming, so that is cool. - Is it cool? - I think so for the tolos, it's definitely not very exciting for this double-vet payoff right now. - What the hell, you're up 10 with 10 minutes to go against a bad football team and you lose? - Yeah. - At home, I might be the only fan base that might be as frustrated as we are right now. - Yeah, now it's a Sunday collision course at AT&T Stadium between two teams with a bad taste in their mouth. - Two desperate teams? - Yeah, you can say that O and two Ravens coming in after they just got bloodied up and embarrassed at the end. - It's a must that went in for them, man. - Yeah, it does. It does feel like an early season must win game. Taking that L was extremely painful. I'm heartbroken today. Yesterday was as bad as a day could go from the Cowboys to Survivor. Sucks. - It was just a terrible football weekend all the way around. Need to apologize to the Red Raider fans out there. Really thought North Texas had a chance going into Lubbock and putting up a good game. That was dead balls wrong. Texas Tech kicked our ass. Then I got to apologize to the New Orleans Saints. Thought you were Fools Gold. - Yeah. - You're not. I did not respect the Saints offensive line nor defensive line. They dominated this football game. So I apologize to both of those fan bases. I was wrong and North New Orleans, man. That's a tough team right there. I mean, I'm interested to see watching them the rest of the year. I mean, that could be a division champ and a team that if you're the Cowboys and you have any hope of making the postseason, you might have to see them again. - Yeah. - I don't know that it'll be any different, but I agree with what you said there Gavin. I mean, to me, this felt a lot like and I know Brad didn't agree in the post game. We'll get to that in two guys, one booth, but. - At six. - Yeah, six twenty. - Yeah. - It felt like a lot of the L's that this team took last year against good football teams. Whether it was San Francisco or Buffalo or the playoff game against Green Bay or you name it, but the second thing start to go wrong, there's a snowball effect and there's no kind of backbone or fight back, especially on the defensive side of the football when you're facing adversity to say like guys, can we shake out of this? Like you just don't see the correction. And offensively, I understand fans that are, hey, you got a $60 million quarterback. I need touchdowns. I don't need field goals. I will say yesterday to me was more about the defense in the offense. They put up points their first five drives, but I understand you need to cash in for touchdowns. You need to be better in that area. You couldn't settle for field goals in that game. And I think that was very apparent once it was 14 to three like guys, you got to finish in the end zone. Field goals are doing, you know good. - Yeah, I think the red zone offense needs to be examined here. - Yeah. - I think the fact that the Cowboys, you know, what happened to them physically on defense with the Saints running game is something that we've examined and really talked about a bunch. But when you go back and you look at the, look at the all 22, there were things in the red zone. The Cowboys could have made this an interesting game. - Sure. - Could they have got a stop? Yeah, that was debatable. - No. - That was debatable. But the fact of the matter is that they missed some passes down in the red zone. The red zone execution wasn't very good. You know, the quarterback missed a swing route. He missed a flat route. You know, there's a couple of things that he, you know, like say the wheel they could have thrown for a touchdown. He had some opportunities. And your defense was so bad that it really overshot it. Overshined the, I think I'm saying the right way. - Overshadows. - Outshadows. - Yeah, yeah, there you go. - Team effort. - Yeah, how bad, thank you. Appreciate it. Sometimes I don't get this right. - And we've worked with you long enough. That's kind of where you're going. - It was a long day yesterday too, man. I bet you haven't slept. - No, I'm fine. The thing about, but when you watch, there's some things that they absolutely could have done better in the red zone. And now I'm thinking about every smoke. Well, a cowboy's lack of a running game this, that, and the other, I'm like, man, this red zone offense isn't very good. You know, and I think it kind of you look at what the play call are. And what they're trying to do, the creativity. Yeah, there's, you know, there's things that you can do that they try. They tried to flip. They tried the reverse. They ran the reverse, the same reverse that the Saints ran for a first down. And, you know, but they don't block the edge. You know, so now it's a negative play. And, you know, it's just, that goes to show you though, they kind of feel like, oh, this, we can maybe take advantage of this and they don't. So it just not all about the defense here. They're the offense. They had its moments where it wasn't very good or where it needed to be to win that game. - I love the 6A2. He says that, well, the Cowboys said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it with their game plan and got absolutely destroyed. Yeah, you know, I think that's one of the frustrating things about watching this all go down is they did make an adjustment on defense. And I think if you give Mike Zimmer time the end results gonna be, you know, pretty good. - Well, they weren't very good yesterday. - No, they weren't. - They weren't good. - But that's always the case with Mike Zimmer in his first year. You know, we can see this coming. - Yeah, you know, if you, if you look at how they handled, if they, how they handled certain plays and the, and the Saints, you got to give them credit for the way that they were able to, I thought it was super creative the way that they, they made it appear that, that Mike Parsons was going to be singled. And then they brought like the wing all the way across at the snap. - Yeah. - Not, not motion him across, but like wait till the snaps made and then run him across like how running backs are in the backfield. And then they, they look inside out to do blitz pickups. They, they, there were a couple of different times where the two tight ends will fall back and a tight end blocking on Micah. And then they could slide the line to where they needed to pick everything else up. It's, it's almost like they said, we're not going to let Micah kill us in the passing game and we're not going to let tank hurt us in the running game. That's kind of, they, they, they identified who your best players were in those particular situations. And there were a couple of times with the crack tosses, the ability, like I said in the cross, if, if Dallas's linebackers are not making tackles, their run game is in trouble. It, it just did. They don't have anything else that can help them defend the run. And if, but if they're going to allow blockers to get up on them as quickly as they did. - Yeah. - In that game, it's game over. - Game over. - And over shown's not helping that. Like I, that was a big Twitter chatter after the game. Like the lack of snaps for Demarvian over shown. I was alarmed watching the game as well, thinking, where is he? But that's a player where if the defensive front isn't keeping your linebackers clean, which they weren't yesterday, over shown's going to struggle. When a lineman gets to the second level and gets on him to shed blocks, he's also a guy that is a converted safety at Texas that has that type of build. You know, he's bigger than Marquise Valley certainly is, but he's also not your typical huge built linebacker. He is going to struggle to shed at times. You've got to keep him clean so he can use his speed and athleticism. - Yeah. As a group though, they overran some place too. That, you know, if you looked at, if you look at the way that Kendrick's play there, like say the screen play, that was really on him. You know, he's got the one on one coverage. He went too far to his right. The ball went back to his left. You know, that's a huge play. Carson took a terrible angle to get to the ball. You know, could have made the tackle in the open field. They didn't get that done. Just really all around pretty bad. And what they needed to do with their fits and their finish. - Find the Cowboys today. I'm thinking, man, can we fix this? And, you know, I think the defense is going to take some time. It'll have great games, you know? - We'll let the offense. If we let the offense is able to score right along with the other teams. - See, that's what I was going to say. - Yeah, that's what you have to have. - This could have been a game where you go back and forth with them and it turns into a shootout. - Right. - And right now that like this, offense doesn't have the potential to do that. And they can't play ball control 'cause it's three yards in attempt. - Right. - They have got to address this running game because as you coined them so well last year after the Packers lost, they're front runners. And if they can't play with a lead, they look like one of the worst teams in the NFL. - They do. - We continue to see that. So how do you play with a lead? You do it like how the Saints did. You open up the third quarter and you hold the ball for a bleep load amount of time, you know? And right now the Cowboys have no ability to do that. They need broken tackles. Where dudes just whiff on CD lamb or penalties to move the ball down the field against anything, resembling a really good defense, you know? And other than the first half against Cleveland, it was clear they were dealing with Russ but snapped back into life into form in the second half. And now this New Orleans team who's what? Just above average defensively? They looked really toothless, Dak missed a bunch of throws. Like, you know, I still have confidence this team is gonna be in the playoff picture. You know, I think this is more a result of like what they do. They lay a massive egg like once a month, usually against a physical team and a team that runs schemes that give them trouble and both those things happen yesterday at the same time. So the Cowboys are right back to where they were last year. It's just a slightly different flavor. And how can you look at that running back situation and have any faith right now? Both those guys are stuck in quicksand. That's the last time I want to see Zeke or Deuce Fon for the rest of the year. That's depressing. Like Jerry wants you to turn on the TV and get excited. That's why they never rebuild 'cause he wants everything. How can you say that's happening with those running backs? Does he know they're that bad? Does he know they inspire me as you're sitting there on the couch or just wanting to go to sleep? 29 year old Alvin Kamara is coming into the game and looking like a blur, you know? That's what speed looks like, you know? And it's crazy. I think in football, all these guys are fast, but there's a huge difference in the levels of speed. Like on CD Lam's touchdown, there was a gentleman that came from the opposite side of the field absolutely flying, right? That's the difference in like good playmaker speed and amazing speed. And the Cowboys just punting on that at running back, you know? I just, you know, so why are they doing this? Why are they reracking essentially the same thing? It has to come down to lack of awareness or just intentional engagement farming. Like this is how good we have to be to be relevant and to keep America talking about us. And we're not gonna risk the future in order to try to win now, like we got a report yesterday. The 49ers were trying to trade for Justin Jefferson. - Yeah. - You know? Already the best team in the NFC. They're like, oh, I know, let's add $35 million to our payroll right now. - Yeah, they did that with McCaffrey. I mean, even though McCaffrey was hurt all the time and stuff, but that's worked out really, really well for them. Now he's hurt again, but to your point, yeah, they're going out and getting like the best player if they can. - Yeah, we have a need at this position. Who is the absolute best player available? And the Cowboys continue to, you know, pass on that idea and take a more sustainable year-to-year approach than, you know, trying to build a great team. So, you know, other than that, I think there's, you know, a lot of ways we can talk about this. The Franklin, Franklin Injury Text Line is open for you. 9-4-0, I woke up and saw Camara had two touchdowns and decided I'd not even watch the game. Most productive Sunday. Anybody else have that feeling yesterday? Like in the fourth quarter of Holy Cow, I don't even want to watch anymore of this. I'm good. There's no chance of winning and there's no entertainment value. - Yes. - Yeah, absolutely. I mean, why would you continue to sit through that? It was an absolute bludgeoning and it was very similar to what you saw in that playoff game. It was an easy change-the-channel game. No question. 2-1-4, you get boat raced and you call the Saints to defense average Gavin, you're awful, dude. Well, that's what they've been, you know? - Their offense, their offense has helped their defense a ton. - Yeah. And I give them credit though for some of the red zone plays they made. You know, they did a good job of when they had to, when they had to be in position or get off a block or knock a ball down or, you know, I think sometimes you kind of helped them along the way. Quarterback, I could say, quarterback missed a couple of passes that could have been a difference-making and people say, "Well, he was running for his life." Well, sure. Still wasn't very good in the game yesterday. That was a big departure from where he was in week one. But yeah, you know, with the things with Dak, you know, you're going to need him to make plays. And when the guys are open or they call a route and it's up the field, a Rico doubt along the wheel, they miss the pick, but they get the route, you got to throw the ball up the field. That guy's got to make that play. You know, you can't miss a route inside to CD Lam on the goal line right there. You got to fit it right in there. You can't throw the ball to the outside. Is that on Lam or is that on Prescott? Well, you know, figure that out. You know, that play needs to be hit in a game where you needed points. You needed to find ways to put pressure on the Saints and you never could offensively. Yeah, it's really rough. For when I'll bring up Dalvin Cook, Zeke was slow and on that play when Dak almost got sacked. I think we're clinging to hope now Dalvin Cook's your answer. I mean, Dalvin Cook couldn't really get playing time on a bad Jets team last year. He was been available for a reason. I mean, hey, I'm hopeful. Maybe Dalvin Cook shows you a little something, but the odds are very unlikely that Dalvin Cook is fixing that issue. No, no, he's been washed for a while. The idea that the Cowboys would go get Zeke and Dalvin Cook to solve their running back needs. That's the blinking red light position of get younger, get younger, get younger at every turn. And that's what they decided to bring in here. And that's what happens when you're bringing in like August players. Your defensive tackles are going to get pushed around and embarrassed because you're trying to solve an issue in August. So they tried to draft a guy to play one technique and it didn't work. I mean, if you look at it right now, I mean, that's the problem is your compounding problems is what you're having to do. If Mausi Smith turns out to be the type of player that you think you drafted him for, well, then maybe you don't have to go out and get guys. But that's, I personally feel like, yeah, the running game's a problem. I think the red zone offense is more of a problem. I just do. - And that's been a problem for years. - That to me right now is, you know, there's the way that the design of it, the routes. I mean, you look at Prescott and it's five vertical and it's like he gets sacked because he does it. He's trying to fit the ball inside to Tolbert when Cook's on the outside has got some space. You know, I mean, it's, it's throwing the ball to span forward on four down when he's double covered. - Like what do we do? - No, it was really open on the play. I see what he's trying to do. He's trying to bring span forward over and see, but that's his first target in the NFL and we're going to throw it to him. And the game was out of hand. I'm just telling you, but, you know, you're trying to, you're trying to kind of just work on and get some, get any kind of little bit momentum, but yeah, the, you know, the play caller, the execution, the quarterback, the receivers, the offensive line, take your pick. - Yeah. - Take your pick with the offense right now. I mean, just take your pick. And that's kind of where it's at. They just don't, you know, but that red zone offense is more of an issue. And hopefully that won't, that won't be the case much more, but boy, we need to talk about that. - Absolutely. I'd love to have that chat. I feel like it's been something throughout DAX career that's popped up in more than half the season since Red Zone efficiency. - Yeah. - Yesterday he was talking and said, I'm thinking it'd be nice to be doing that on our side of the ball, about the Saints offense. He says, credit to the play caller over there and to that team for coming out and being ready on a noon start. Maybe a little shot at the head coach there. - I wonder, you know, I do think if, you know, if you're a quarterback, you're paying attention to the things the other teams are running and how much hell that they're giving your defense and thinking, wow, I wish we could do some of that would be one of the first things that would come to mind. I mean, how many more times do we have to see it? You know, this has been going on for eight years now, basically this offensive revolution and the Cowboys are still being like, yeah, look, they're just, you know, more and one way to skin a cab. But wow, those teams, I mean, Steve was talking about the Houston and San Francisco and Miami and all these teams at the top. How the bleep can you not say, let's get a coach that does this? Like Clint Kubiak should be at the top of your roll of decks right now, just that card sitting there until whenever you can talk to them, right? What is that? After the wild card weekend? They'll probably win a wild card game. He asked me this New Orleans team, actually it's pretty good. - If I found out that Jerry was doing some tampering yesterday in that building, trying to go ahead and get ahead of the thing with old Kubiak, I'd be fine with it. - It's not even that hard. Like when they ended up moving on and they wanted a new offensive coordinator, I sat here during a break and I went through who are the assistant coaches for those type of offenses. Bobby Sloeck was on the list of guys that I pulled up. If I'm able to do this, just a radio host, Schmuck myself. Why can't you do it there in the building? - Schmuck yourself. - 'Cause you care. - 'Cause you care, we'll check. Because you want to work hard and turn over every stone to make this football team better. - Some people are just living the billionaire sports owner lifestyle. - I wish I didn't care as damn much. 'Cause it still sucks. - You know what I mean? - Jerry will tell you that. - I'm gonna claw with my fingernails for that inch. - She is not in line with the fans. Okay, we'll check where we're going next before the G bag of the day. - Well, it is an overreaction Monday. Let's play some NFL truer fart with these overreactions. That's next in the nation. - Welcome back nation. 2-1-0 says left during the third quarter to buy a slab of ribs. Took a great nap after the second quarter says constable Scott. 4-6-9 says I pick taking wife's pictures for a social media thing over watching the Cowboys. The end of the world is here. I know that feeling of, oh no, it is just like last year. Hit a lot of people. Segments brought you by cars for kids. Donate today, carsforkids.org. It's brought you by the Franco's. McCarthy Presser at the top of the hour, by the way, Lucius Mybad. I missed that on the show sheet. Here's Wolf Schuck with some NFL overreactions. - Let's do it. Let's react two week over react week two in the national football league with some NFL Truer Fart. - All right, we've moved to the red zone as far as the running back conversation goes here on this sports center fantasy draft special. Truer Fart falls. March on Lynch matches last year's production. - Thank you very much, Robert Flores, for birthing this game, 8-7-7-8-8-1-1-5-3 can play along with us as well. If you agree with the statement, true. If you disagree, it is a flatulent, say, "Okay, a fart." All right, I'll start with you, Eric Chiafala. - Truer Fart, the Saints have the best offense in NFC. - Oh, wow. Yeah, I mean, currently right now, I think that is, I think that is pretty fair to say. The Packers are super interesting to me though. I still think, once Jordan Love comes back, I mean, what Matt Lefler did with Malik Willis, that dude's legit, that dude being Matt Lefler. And that's another guy that is out there and running an offense that gives you fits and you still don't want to steal it and it's pretty frustrating. But yeah, I think that that's fair when McCaffrey gets back, I think that's going to be, the Niners will be right in the mix here. But what the Saints are doing right now, and they're catching people off guard to some extent, yes, this is San Francisco, but it's like a new iteration of it. It's the same when Miami, Mike Daniel comes to town and for the first month of the season, nobody, everybody's heads are spinning. And then they kind of catch up to it. So it's still early, but right now, the Saints are as good a football team as there is in the sport. Now I'm going to go ahead and buy that as well. You know, I think you could definitely scoreboard them for their quality of competition, but you just don't score this many points. It's three games in a row now going back to week 18 of last year without being incredible. So, you know, I think ultimately you're going to be tested by great defenses and we'll see how they execute against them for the ultimate answer in January. I'll probably end up picking San Francisco in the long run, but as it sits right now, go Saints. - I'll tell you the balance they play with is impressive for the first two weeks, their ability to run the football and then the way they pass it and the efficiency that they pass the ball with, I think is a real plus. So yeah, you know, the Carolina game was a nice win for them. The Dallas win, I mean, kind of all felt like Dallas's defense was better than this, you know, probably better than Carolina's defense, but they sure didn't play like it. So yeah, I'd have to say for the balance, their ability to put you in bad situations. Yeah, best offense, but you know, you'll, you'll, people will talk about San Francisco. I didn't see exactly what they did. I didn't see Tampa. Tampa looks like they're on a little bit of a run. - Tampa's got a good offense. They put up 20 points against it. - Yeah, so I need to figure out what they're doing offensively, but they're two and oh right now. But the Saints, I think you're, I would say that's true. - Offense was about 24 points per game last year for New Orleans with a long standing stale offensive coordinator. I think it just goes to show you how important coaching is. - Absolutely. I mean, they're averaging 32.5 points per game in the first half this year. They've got 91 points this season tied for the fourth most through two games in NFL history. - See, I was, I was looking at there 'cause I was talking about the 21 personnel stuff with the two backs, one tied in or 22. They're getting like 7.3 yards a play in that two tied in, two back offense. - You gotta bulk up to stop the run and make you set the ball to the pass. It's perfect. - And they got a real, like he's not gonna be a headline player for you on the stat sheet, but the way that they're able to use Taysom Hill in such a variety of roles, I was like, damn, that is so impressive. - I did look down here. Tampa's quarterback is thrown for five touchdowns, one interceptions, which is the same as the Saints. - Yeah. - Quarterback right there. - Yeah, Chris Godwin's playing great. Look, all of a sudden we were making fun of the NFC South. Now you look at the Bucks and the Saints, you're thinking, damn, those are two legitimate contenders here in the NFC. So I'm gonna go true on that as well. Okay, we, unfortunately for Brian and I, we were doing the post-game show, so we didn't really get to have a full focus, but yet again, we get another classic, Bengals, Chiefs. The Bengals, true or fart, Gavin Dawson, still remain the biggest threat to the Chiefs in the AFC. - Oh, 100%. I mean, a 50/50 call at the end of that game to keep the Chiefs drive alive. I feel like Cincinnati had that game one. You know, and a call went against Kansas City on that same drive just a few plays earlier, so maybe it all comes out of the wash and you say that's equal, but I don't think as a Kansas City fan, you want to see Cincinnati in January at all right now. - Yeah, I think the biggest difference with Cincinnati and everybody else is Cincinnati, whether in Arrowhead or not, plays this team with like real confidence. And nobody else does. Buffalo, they're always close, but they never can really figure it out. But you also have to have an eye on Houston. That's the team looking. - You're still good. - But right now, I think it is still, it's still the fighting Joe Burrows. - Yeah, I like what Cincinnati's do. And in fact, I think they were, I just went back and looked at something. They were, the Chiefs weren't very good on third down. So, you know, it, you know, and sometimes you could play a poor game in your defense bill as you out. It looks like that's what Kansas City got yesterday. But yeah, the bingles know how to play the Chiefs. And I think that's always something that we can learn from. - Well, now about Cam Taylor-Brid. He was talking the bleep, and we're like, who the hell is this guy? He has the interception of the year yesterday as well. Last one very quickly, Brian, brought a Sam Darnell Truer fart, is going to lead the Vikings to the playoffs. - I must say that's probably true. They look like they're playing very, very well right now. They're dealing with some injuries and stuff, but overall though, he looks very comfortable playing the game. They've had a nice goal line stand basically against San Francisco to kind of finish off that game. That was a great win for them. So yeah, give me the Vikings to be in the mix. - Yeah, in the mix for sure. I guess with Green Bay Hurt, I'll take it wild card team. I'll just fart on that. I'm going to fart too for now. - Thank you, Wolf Chuck. - Thank you. - It's time now to go into the Pimp Cup. We're Lucius. Here's your G baggy day. - I'm going to fart on that too, by the way. (laughing) - I feel like farty. (laughing) - I'm in a gassy weekend. - Yeah. All right, so I went right here. This is Babe Loffenberg. He is a part of the Cowboys Radio broadcast. He joined the RJ and choppy show for some trivia. He has some trivia for him. Sound like Babe got his numbers mixed up. He is our winner and champ of G baggy day so far. Do we have any idea how many days? Anybody? - I think this is just what? - Okay. - Yeah. - All right. - So Derek Carr has the third most touchdowns by a player who has won the number four passing. 73, Dak Prescott has the second most, 74. Who is the leader in terms of touchdown passes with a number four? - Brett Favre. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Well, September trivia. - Suck it, babe, hang it. - How many, how many did he have? How many did he have, guys? - How many career touchdown passes? - Yeah, Prescott has 74, Carr has 73. - 507, 482. - Payton, do you know? - Believe it to be 186, right? - Yeah, 186. - Yeah, 186. - 186, there's not a chance in hell that Brett Favre is going on. - That's the number of games he won. - Remember, he's more a different number. - What? - This is just by one of the number four. There's no way. I'm looking at this. - What was his other number? - What? - He won number four in his whole career, babe. - Oh my God. Do we get made off of him? - Babe. - He's doing, yeah. - He gets them. - Even still I was wrong. He only threw 336 touchdown passes. No, 508, 508. - I said 504. I said five or five, 507. - You've been five, 508. - No man, he snapped it. - Take a peter. - But they were all his number four, babe. - Yeah. - 508. - Yeah. - Yeah. - That's way more than 73, I think. - Dak had like 40 last year. Babe, I think you butchered all of this. - No, Dak's got 203. (laughing) - I didn't know you had this one. - It's amazing. - Shoot boy, it's hilarious. All right, let's see here. Get the vibes right. R.P. that boy Tito. R.P. to that boy Tito. I'm not sure if they would be a Jackson five. It would have for Tito sneaking off with Joe's guitar. - Hmm. - Learn how to try to play guitar. Sneaking off with Joe's guitar. It's time to build that squad. All right, let's see here. (humming) Kevin Harlan. Kevin Harlan kicked it to himself. There was some technical difficulties during the broadcast. He tried to swing it to Nate Berlison in the studio for an update, but Nate didn't hear anything. So, Kevin, you know, professional broadcast that he used took care of it himself. - And let's take you to Nate Berlison in New York. I can't hear you. - I can't, I can't hear you. - Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. - Hey, hey, hey, hey. - Watchers against Tennessee on the goal, and deep and a whisk caught by... (cheering) The Titans. (laughing) - Really? With a touchdown reception, the former Jackson New Janker, Will Yevis with the long throw for Tennessee? Back to Minneapolis. All right, thank you. Second down six. (laughing) - Oh, there's Ayauk with the catch, and out of bounds he goes. - Shubbed over there by Gilmore and Harrison Smith, and he's got the ball on the first down catch. Out to the... (laughing) Out to the 42. - You have called two games at one time, and now you called the studio and the game at the same time. So, you never cease to amaze me. Incredible. - It was unbelievable. (laughing) - Kevin's the best. - I guess it's amazing. - Yeah, he is amazing. - Yeah, he did that. Like, how you threw it to himself. - Like, nothing. - Thank you, Sam. - Yeah, just nothing. - It was awesome. - Nice in the flow, man. - Yeah. - All right, let's go to the Cowboys. Radio broadcast. Eric, you are becoming like, appointment radio for the pregame. - Oh, don't tell that to the listening audience. (laughing) You are becoming appointment radio. You had O'Grill dunk on you the first week. - That's right, that's right. What's her name? - I'm on a post for Andrew, but Aaron Andrews. - Aaron Andrews. And now we have Brad Shamp. He just gave you a yellow light. He gave you a yellow light right here. He said your mouth might be a little too big, pause. - We had Mike Haas voice of the Saints on earlier. - Yeah, I know, sitting right next to him part of the day. - He was very impressed with the Sushi halftime spread there, just a tip of the cafe from my house. - Can I just say this? - Yeah, absolutely. - You guys just need to go on the QT with the Sushi halftime spread. That's our thing. And the more you advertise that over the intercontinental, inter-ballistic airwaves, then the more people are gonna be, "Hey, wait a minute, wait a minute." Just listen to the old man. Just shut up and come in and enjoy the Sushi. Can you do that? (laughing) - Pretty incredible. - Just shut up and enjoy the Sushi. - I threw him off sides there. I thought that was funny. I thought that was funny, Brad. I didn't take that personally. Even though I know he was being famous. - You were laughing the whole time. - Yeah, he gave me a light. It's just a temperature check, you know what I mean? That's all I was. Now, if you do it again, you might hear a different breath. - No question. - That was a temp check. - It was warranted as well. - It was great in there. - Did you go have Sushi halftime? - Dang it. (laughing) - I can't believe you guys saved me a couple of pieces. - Yesterday was the church day. I pray you got your blessing. Shout out to my doctor, Pastor Freddie Haynes. I ran into people out here on these streets and they said, "Man, we love that you big "a Pastor Freddie Haynes out here." So, here's y'all. Shout out to you, man. - Absolutely. All right, that's my boy too. I'm telling you, man. - I'm confused. I'm confused. Let's see here. We got a youth pastor. He's trying not being the major pastor, but I don't understand his point. - I'm just getting this image of the throne room of God that the elders are castrating themselves in front of the Lord. And it is just a beautiful, beautiful picture. - What was he trying to say? - Beautiful picture. - What was he trying to say right there? - His castoration, it was beautiful. - Just quite the painted picture there. - The throne room of God, that the elders are castrating themselves in front of the Lord. - No, not castrating. I don't know what the word could be. - I don't know. - He didn't say castrating. He said castrating. - That's what I thought. - I was wondering what he meant. - Wow. - It was vulgar. - In front of the Lord. - Whoo. This is something like kneeling before the elders from the throne room of God that the elders are castrating themselves in front of the Lord. - You should get in heaven. - There's gotta be a word for kneeling or something. - Can I just sacrifice my son? - Dear God. - It's gotta be something. You should automatically get in heaven though, if you willing to do that right there at the front gate. - Okay, my first and second born. Let me keep those. - Yeah, in that bro. - You bro, get in heaven. - Gabriel let you go on in. Ain't that the Gabriel at the front? Who is that at the front? - The Texas saying prostrating? Prostrating, that's what I'm trying to. - That sounds wilder. - That doesn't sound right. - Is that like kneeling, bending? - Yes, lay oneself flat on the ground, facing down here. - Yeah, there we go. - In reverence or submission. - Oh, thank you. - Thank you. - Thank you, text. - Well, he was all the way off. - I was about to look it up. - Yeah, I hope I don't have to do that. You know the one with the Lord. Okay, is it Beyloffenberg or a one time champ? Is it Kevin Harlan's football play by play? Is it Eric Chiafalo getting the yellow light from Brad Chamorro? - Hey, Ella. - Is it the youth pastor trying out for lead pastor, main pastor, major pastor? Yeah, I'm gonna go with Kevin Harlan, Chief. How about you? - Yeah, I am actually gonna go with the champ. - All right, we're tied at one, Lucius. - Babe. - Two, one, we'll check. - She said, why does he keep calling him babe? (laughing) - I'll go with the sushi conversation. Kevin Harlan, by a score of two to two, we have a tie. Jump onto our X account at G-Bag Nation. We're gonna create an insta poll here over the break where you will be able to vote on who it should be. Okay, and when we get back, Chief, where are we going? Best of the weekend, we got big man TDs, whooping cough, and the worst kick of all time next year in the nation. - Thank you, Lucius, time now for Eric Chiafalo's best of the weekend, here's the Chief. - Yes, sir, thank you very much. We had all of our water guns/water hoses teams go on three over the weekend, so we keep it tally there. FSU is a part of that, you have the Titans. - Too much lolly gagging. - That's right. You have the Tennessee Titans, a part of that one, and then of course the Baltimore Ravens, who completely bleeped me and Dawson in Survivor. - I'm irritable. - You have any type of idea what you wanna do for your pay off at Shakerton's in Arlington on Friday? - I'm leaning towards that, a new one spittle posted with the mister, where you get sprayed in the face for a whole segment. - Oh, wow, yeah. - And we get to put a mystery mix in there of spray. - Yeah, oh, I think you get to have super-soakers, you can have whatever you want and water on it. - No, but it doesn't just have to be watered, right? It could just be any type of mystery mixes that we're spraying on you and stuff, isn't that part of it? - Yes, anything you can buy at the store. - Anything you can buy at the store, okay? That's perfect, 'cause remember that one thing? Remember that disgusting smelling thing we bought at the store that we found out that was put. - We hung onto that. I think it's gotten more and more rotten over the years. - You still haven't your trunk? - It expired, but I think that'll, for these purposes, make it actually better. - As long as it's not a human or animal fluid, it's fair game. - Ah, we gotta check the animal fluid part. - Really confirm on that one. - Stay, stay, stay, stay, stay, stay. - I don't know, or would you guys be all right with me doing the Live at Shakerton's, a live rendition of the National Anthem? - Yeah, absolutely. - At the break, belt it out. - Well, I think it's gotta be on the air, but also-- - All three verses. - But also in front of, or even worse, I have to re-enact that one guy's who, the rockets were still there and still there. - Definitely, the rocket's just involved. - And then nobody at Shakerton's will know that I'm butchering it on purpose, and they'll just think I'm a total schmo. I don't know, but I'm workshopping that right now. We'll see, but Friday, another back-to-back, double bet payoff Friday in the G-bag edition. - Bright Lights Big City seems fun as well as your co-hosts get to apply your proper makeup for the HD cameras. Ooh, that's actually pretty good, right? - I know you have experience doing that with your daughters. - That's right, you know? - That's right, they could probably pitch in a little bit on that one. - Well, yeah, we'll do each other's makeup, that's what you said. - Yeah. - That's the idea, yeah. - Correctly and clear. - Just gonna draw a bunch of your films on your face. I know that's what Wolf check's gonna do to mine. - Yeah. - You get to use the makeup with a Sharpie markers, is that what you get to do? - I don't know, not Sharpies, dude. We're not doing the Sharpies. - I'm going Sharpie and I'm leaving hairs. - So yes, the water hose and water gun teams went over over the weekend, and now Florida State, congratulations to them. Very exciting. They have become the first team to clinch their under projected win total for the season. - Oh, yes. - And they didn't even quite pay $2 million to Memphis to get their asses kicked in front of their fans, which I say fans, and that was like a very few amount of them showing up after the start that Florida State's had to this season. So between Florida State and Florida, it's about as bad as it gets. And I don't know if it gets any worse than for this guy here, this Florida fan after Florida once again is in some serious trouble there. Their fans are dejected and there is a mustache, mustache frat star with a nice Florida Gators overalls outfit on, flawless underneath. He's surrounded by some girls, but Jesse Palmer's on the call. He's also the bachelor guy. So he's the host for that. And he has some bachelor-ish analysis for the Gator fan in the stands. - What do we got here with the striped overalls? - Yeah, he's got a mustache. Can't see it now, but he's whipping his hand with his shirt. I'm gonna make a bold prediction here. I'm gonna say that guy's in the front zone. (crowd cheering) - That's fantastic. - You are a top analyst. I'm just gonna say, you know how to give analysis. - Here's a relationship in dating. Dating, I see it up post and personal on my other job. And I think I'm gonna say he's a good listener. - Bachelor Nation is a desperate need of this kind of analysis, Katie. - Don't kick a man while he's down, Jesse. Leave him alone. - No, I think he's a great guy. I didn't say he was a bad guy. I'm just saying, I don't think he's dating anybody in the shot right now. (crowd laughing) - Just gets completely roasted by Jesse Palmer for no good reason, absolutely catching stress. And the thing that's funny for that guy or sad is like he has no idea in that moment what's happening to him. - No clue. - That's like a future self is gonna realize what took place in that moment where you just got, you just went viral and it wasn't for all the wrong reasons. So Florida teams and Florida fans just cannot get away from it. But I'll tell you what, the Gamecock fans had it rough over the weekend as well. - Is he talking about the guy in the mustache though? - Yeah, I think we're also Jesse lashing out. He can't grow a lipfare like this guy can. A dude with that kind of stash is not in the front. - I can feel that. - I didn't take some hater. - Moustache envy just isn't off at Palmer. - He's just surprising. He's got a mustache. You can't see it now. You'll have to wait for him to turn around and he's just envious. It's the one thing he doesn't have going for him is the facial hair. - That's surprising from a good looking guy. You know, usually you would see that from somebody pretty average, you know? - Yeah, exactly, that's that type of beta behavior that you would not expect from a guy who probably pulls, you know? - Yeah. - Now, here is before the Gamecocks got embarrassed after being up 17 to nothing on Brodas' team, they were actually shamed on College Game Day because they had the Pat McAfee kicks for Money Deal. - Yeah. - Where everybody gets a chance or not everybody, but one special fortunate member of the Game Day crowd gets to step up, College Kid, and win thousands and thousands of dollars for themselves, their school, local charities, all sorts of good stuff here. McAfee was crushing this kid. And rightfully so, this kid's kind of a bleephole. - Have you ever said anything terrible about kickers before? - Oh, the Tom! - Wait, what? - It's just so easy. They aren't real kick. Like, it's not a sport. - Okay, have you ever kicked a football before? - No! - Have you ever had a beer? - Before, 'cause it seems like it. - No, I haven't. - Now, completely sober. You never kicked a football before? - No, sir. - But I'm gonna make it 'cause it's easy. - Okay, relax, dude. - Yeah, no shot. - All the trash and stuff. - It's got a new shot. - All the trash and stuff. - Josh, when you're a good man. - Who got no shot? - Hundred and twenty thousand dollars. - You ready, kid? - Sixty thousand doing scholarship. Sixty thousand in your pocket. (crowd cheering) - I told you. - I told you. - He lost it. - He was kick a ball time. - The worst kicker than the ball. - The worst kicker ball time. He shoots under there. Ball is here. This guy sucks. (crowd laughing) - You don't like that anymore. - I think, I think Pat has been, that's been saving his money since he had to give away some. - We don't stop taking that anymore. - This kid sucks. Back to it. - This kid sucks. (laughing) Yeah, you're not gonna be able to talk smack about kickers and then also do a bunch of flexing and then have the worst kick. I mean, his shoe did go further than the football. - That's a one thing. - Which was pretty embarrassing for the kid. Now, maybe the coolest thing I saw this weekend was Weber State pulling out a play that I've never seen before. Getting a big man TD by design. - Yes, we got tagged in this and I was like, "What just happened?" - Yeah, so take a look at the fan cam, Twitch and YouTube. Carter Freeman will pull up the video, but it is a fantastic touchdown play where the left tackle ends up taking the hook and ladder from the wide receiver and barrels into the in zone. It is absolutely fantastic. I didn't even, when I saw it first, I'm like, "I guess this is legal? "You can draw it up like this? "We have enough athletes. "We should have been doing this with Tyron Smith." - Yeah. - 'Cause that's a guy I would've loved to see like with the ball in his hands just stumbling down the sidelines a little bit. But what an awesome design there from Weber State, getting their left tackle to pay dirt. It's a big weekend for the big man TD's man. Can't wait for TD Tuesday. - Yeah, tomorrow's gonna be absolutely legendary. And then Portland State had to cancel their game shortly before kickoff because their entire locker room was riddled with whooping cough. - Whooping cough, yeah. - That was not something I was expecting from the football weekend, but that's what Portland State granted us. They must have had a some type of party, team gathering. - Super spreader. - Got a little bit, went a little bit haywire and then three hours before kickoff, you have a Dakota team flying to Oregon and they're being told sorry kids, we're not gonna play today. - Sorry. - 'Cause your opponent after you tackle 'em is gonna be coughing all over you. We can't do this. So whooping cough, big man TD's. And the worst kick of all time, I would say it was a hell of a college football weekend. - Yes, sir, it was. And we will move now to maybe some NFL news of the day for five, 10 minutes. Mike McCarthy pressure as well here as we continue on a over-reaction Cowboys, Monday C notes coming up at 320. We're less than an hour away now from Krusty's corner in Brian's film takeaways and we're back here in the nation. - Post-season baseball is here and it is the absolute best time of the year. I'm Rod Bradford of Baseball's and Boring and we're gonna have you covered every step of the way with instant reactions from players and coaches and managers and fans and reporters and everybody else who is immersed in this awesomeness and all the craziness that comes with October baseball. So follow baseball as I'm Boring in the free Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts. (upbeat music) - Yeah buddy, it's hour number two with a G-back nation here on the fan. Mike McCarthy's pressure, brought you by your North Texas Ford dealers. Ford is the best in Texas. We'll jump into that as soon as Mike stands up and starts talking. I don't know about you guys last night listening to him on the post-game show. I watched it on YouTube later last night. What I heard from Mike is a guy that kind of sounded defeated. Is he done at this point? That's what I would be thinking. I'd be thinking, "Holy cow, we are not any better." As soon as we get up against quality teams, if we even make the playoffs, it's gonna be a very similar and sad story. And I'd be thinking about, I'm gonna probably have to be relocating here before too long. Going into this season, I've remained open-minded. 'Cause how many good things we saw in auction art? I said, "It's possible here that this team can surprise us." And while everybody is down, they're getting ready to unleash hell on the league, it's clear though that status quo has put them back in the same spot. And now, for the next 15 games, I'm hoping that the message gets driven home as hard as possible. I think the best thing that can result from the rest of this season now is a great draft pick. And the potential to take an all-pro difference maker inside the top 10, that's the best thing that could happen right now, unfortunately. Because we need the Jones boys to get such a massive serving of humble pie, they can't hide from it. Okay, Mike McCarthy coming up here in just a minute. Let's see if we can get in some NFL news today. Well, Chuck, what do you say? - Yeah, absolutely. We got some news hot off the press, running back of the Kansas City Chiefs. Isaiah Pacheco has a fibula injury. He's expected to miss approximately six to eight weeks, according to Jeremy Fowler. Now, they might be turning their attention to an old friend as Chef D is then reporting that Kareem Hunt is going to come in for a visit tomorrow. So he could help fill the Chiefs running back void. I think they still have Clyde Edwards, a layer who is not available yet. They brought in some Ajay P. Ryan, former Oklahoma sooner running back, but maybe Kareem Hunt could come in, add some depth for them. But the story so far today is the Carolina Panthers benching Bryce Young. Number one overall pick. They hired Dave Kanalis, did an excellent job revitalizing Baker Mayfield's career last year, and that's carried over. I mean, Baker's still playing tremendous football, but coach Kanalis on benching Bryce Young said this is the best decision for our group moving forward. Andy Dalton gives us the best chance. I watched the film. Ultimately, this falls on me. I feel this is the best decision to help the Panthers. Crazy scenario developing there in Carolina, and now you look at kind of what the Panthers traded to just get that number one overall pick and draft Bryce Young, which to me, if you're benching him now, it means you don't believe he's any good, you're moving on. So Bryce Young's going to be playing for a different team at some point. Why hire Kanalis then if you're going to bench the guy in the week two, after week two? I don't, you know, I don't get that. The whole thing does not make any sense to me. You know, I, you just, to me, you play through and you see, you know, like, okay, let's find some things this kid can do. Maybe he can't do anything. But I just wonder you make a hire of an offensive coach, one that has a, you know, a pretty good reputation of, you know, working with quarterbacks and stuff like that. And then all of a sudden you're going to, Andy Dalton does nothing for you. I mean, maybe it doesn't lose the team. Maybe you win a couple more games. Yeah, but, but why, why, why, you know, if you're the coach you stand up to and you say, hey, maybe, you know, they're going to, they're giving me four years to do this. But if I could turn this kid around, you know, that buys you and maybe it gives you some more time there. But I just don't see going to Andy Dalton in week two unless he's totally worried about losing the team. You know, that, that would be the only thing. But if I was, I was ownership, I would say, listen, you were brought in here to, you're brought in here to play this kid. You know, I think this kid better. I think you hit it like you're worried about losing the team and canals has been working with the guy for two months. Now I think there's probably a lot of people for us today last year and how many times do you see a kid play 19 games and be horrible and then become a good quarterback? You probably have seen what he is already, haven't you? Yeah. If you're a great quarterback coach, you see that. For sure. I mean, he was pressured on just four of 29 of his drawbacks in yesterday's game. So it wasn't like, hey, you're just being hounded at a ridiculous rate and your offensive line's so broken. This is just a guy who is clearly, there's nothing about him that is NFL quarterback worthy from a size standpoint, trying to read defenses. He can't even see, he's throwing interceptions because yeah, he didn't even see the guy there. He can't see over his offensive line. We got to go to McCarthy. Those are great points, chief. Here's the coach. Mike, David Moore, now's morning news. Swings and performance are always exaggerated in September because you have less of a sample size. Thanks for saying that, David. But from people under we too, that was a pretty dramatic swing. Do you read more into it or do you try to put it in that context? Oh, no, I think it's part of your data for evaluation. I'm a huge believer in, you know, you have education and really is part of your preparation and then you go play it, that's the application of it, then you evaluate it and start all over again. You know, we need to be better, you know, in this week's preparation. We weren't quick to the first punch, you know. So, you know, with that, you know, that's the confidence and just being totally on top of the details of, you know, each and every contest. And I thought that they finished better than we did. So, you know, those are two of the biggest constants throughout the evaluation process today with the players. So, and you know, we need to learn from it. And then there's two, when you're talking about it, it's about preparation and response, which goes beyond just scheme or preparation sometimes. How did you feel about the team's response when things started going against it very early in that game? I thought the emotional was, as far as the focus was good, you know, all the feedback from the coaches, the interactions, the corrections on the sidelines, the, you know, half time, you know, there was really never no blinker. Everybody felt that we were going to get back and, you know, momentum, you know, changed the momentum with some, you know, consistency, you know, the disappointment obviously on defense was an inability to, you know, win first and second down and never really getting into, you know, an opportunity to rush the passer, you know, so they controlled the sticks and predominantly with the, you know, with their action pass game and run game. So, and then, you know, offensively, you know, our biggest, you know, was not scoring touchdowns. You know, we felt if we could have, you know, won, you know, one for one and slugged it out. I mean, when we had 14 play drive, 13 play drive, nine play drive, so, I mean, the ability to drive the ball was there, we just didn't put in the end zone. So, and then, you know, then they got away from us here in the fourth quarter. Clarence Hill, all city Dallas, so much talk about the scheme and going against that office, whether they, you know, Mike would say it was more of an effort issue than a scheme issue. What did you see on the table? Was it effort? I would say it's an effort issue and I just, I just spoke to the team today at two, two o'clock and I'm one of one that has access to all the information was at the game on the sidelines. I think it really came down to, you know, I thought they were quicker to the first punch more often than we were and I think I was just in, you know, the, you know, I think it leads back to your preparation but the 2.3 is really what we use as a, if you measure it and it's just to put mathematics to it, you know, they finished better than we did. You know, I thought they played better than we did at the end of each play, not every play, but, you know, overall as far as the evaluation. So, and that's what we're focused on. Moving forward. - Mike Todd, or two of the ESPN kind of like what Clarence was saying, but why is the Shania and offense given this defense trouble? - From Dan's scheme to what Mike has done, even Mike's time in Minnesota, they had some issues with facing that scheme as well. - Well, I think it's, you know, you know, the run game is difficult. I mean, it's a commitment to run, you know, run that run game and there's benefits of it and then there's, you know, things that, you know, why you go in a different direction. But yeah, it's a, it's tough to play if you don't play it all the time. There's no question about it, but at the end of the day, it still comes down to fundamentals. - John Machado with the athletic, I was just wondering kind of off of that, the run defense specifically, you know, the defensive tackle position. What gives you confidence that you guys do have the answers for other people? - Well, I mean, we made some technique adjustments that, you know, that we need to be better at. I mean, you know, you can't get gapped and we were gapped, you know, time and time again, you know, to put more pressure on your, you know, your second level defenders, obviously your linebacker and your primary support element. So, but yeah, we have to, you know, it's that first step that discipline the, plan the technique and making sure that fit behind us and in order and we definitely we're not clean and we weren't consistent. - Kyle. - Calvin Watkins, that's one of the news. Very early in the season, but is it not too early to reevaluate where you're out of the running game with the personnel there? - Reevaluate. - You moved up, move in this. - Oh, I think you're always, you know, you're always looking at it. Yeah, I mean, we treat everybody in the building as, you know, the same as far as consideration. Yeah, so I mean, that's a, that's a constant. That's the beauty of having a competitive environment. So I wouldn't just put it, you know, just in, you know, focus just on that one area. - What do you, when you look at the running game offensively, how would you evaluate so far? - I think, you know, a better evaluation come when we can get the attempts up, you know? I think we've had two games and, you know, really haven't had a full dose of, you know, lining up and playing four quarters of running pass mix. So. - Soft. - It's obvious, yeah. But my Tyler guy, after making his debut, how did you feel he kind of had the encore? - But he played, he played solid. I thought he did a lot of good things. So, I mean, he's getting better. I thought both him and Cooper took a step forward and I think it's really a very fair expectation to have for rookies, you know, playing in their first and second game. So, I thought they both took a step from last week. - And for Dax, when the game does kind of get out of hand like that, is it just quarterbacks thing that you're gonna try to get to your best playmakers? Did you feel like you missed reads or anything later in the game, trying to get the ball to CD in particular? - I'm not sure what you're referring to. You want to be more specific or, I mean, we're two months. Yeah, I think he just might have played that a little fast, you know, because the, you know, the entire room was cut to CD and if you saw the route that went through first, I mean, a little more patience here may to help us. - Yeah. - Nick Harris, what were your start, Taylor Graham? Just in your evaluation of today and how today is gone, what's been the response from the team? - Good response. I mean, a lot of work was, you know, got done there in the weight room early and then, you know, went through the medical checks and then, you know, we met special teams, offense, defense, and I had the team meeting at two. So, everything's been looked at, everything's been talked about, everything's been corrected, and we have moved on to Baltimore. - As far as Zach Martin is, he probably got a maybe doesn't really have work this week. - You know, it's actually that Wednesday group. So, I think, you know, once we get past that, I think he'll be fine, but, you know, I never liked to trust me. We were talking about this for a commender. I'd love to tell you everything just here. He's playing right now, would be done with it, but he got away from the week, things can happen, you know? So, I'm not gonna, you know, unfortunately practice Wednesday, Thursday, and then again on Saturday. So, but Zach will be in the, he'll be in the Wednesday bedroom. - It's kind of, it's kind of exciting to see it being, more specifically on the defense, a wild swing from week one to week two. So good week one, and just couldn't get a stop in week two. How do you kind of come out of that and evaluate things? - I think it really falls more in a category. It's never as good as you think it is, and it's never as bad as you think it is. No, it was not good yesterday. I'm not saying that, but, you know, I stood here seven days ago on a Monday and said we got a lot of work to do, and one by three scorers, and that wasn't lip service. You know, we have a lot of work to do. We looked like a young and experienced football team at times in that game yesterday. That was my first impression when I finished watching all three phases last night. So then after going through all the eval with everybody, you know, we need to be better. Our young guys are gonna, you know, they made some mistakes and unfortunate times that they were costly, but that's part of playing young players, as many young players early. But so, you know, with that, you know, I'm calling on the veterans to help pull us through those moments, and that starts in preparation. - Baby. Babe Loffberg, 105.3, the fans. Mike, so you coach long enough, like you have you to have games like this. Have you found, you know, high school, you've run your team to death. Have you found that you kind of don't have to say too much because of this level, these guys are embarrassed and they don't wanna see the same thing happen again? How do you handle this? - Yeah, this is, you know, I think you have to be very consistent in your correction and during your evaluation process. Yeah, days like this are hard on everybody, you know, 'cause, and I think when you see your team not beating the other team to the punch, you know, more than they're beating us to the first punch. So I take it very personal. So I know these days are really, you gotta get past them, you know, so obviously I'm looking forward to getting out of here. So then I'll get to go watch the Baltimore film, but it's, yeah, it's a grind. You know, you know, you put so much entities and I think it gets harder. It's been my experience. The older I get, these losses are harder. But, you know, you wanna just make sure you're being consistent with your coaches and being consistent with the players. - Garret, Garret Footer, LCBS Sports, what was, what is your thought on where Jake Ferguson is at? And just, can you also speak to kind of the tangible impact he brings when he does play that, kind of touched a little bit on that? - Yeah, definitely. I mean, Jake's a big part of the heart and soul of that locker room. No question about it. I just told he had a good workout today. So that, that's good news. But, you know, we'll see how he comes in tomorrow and so forth. I mean, I'm hopeful he can play. - Yeah. - Mike Edwarder, WMA. You mentioned Dalvin Cook a few minutes ago. Could you give us a sense of how you view his physical readiness to play and his understanding of, you know, the offense and so forth with this guy? - Dalvin looks good, you know, understanding that he's, you know, this, a big thing for that is just the terminology, you know, frankly, in just the language adjustment. And I think he's progressed very, very nicely since he's been here, you know, he's, you know, as natural as an outside zone runner that I've competed against. So, but yeah, he looks good. He's getting there. - Clarence. - Speaking of just wild swings from week one to week two, the snap counts for Demario and Overshawn. Yeah, that's what the great game week one. What is he not doing to be in a base defense and certainly seem like the impact player week one and what is the difference? - Well, I just think like anything, you know, you've got a new scheme, you've got young players, you make decisions on training reps in base, training reps in sub. So, you know, obviously last week he was primarily, you know, going to be, you know, part of the sub package. We weren't anticipating being in that much base going into the game, but that's, you know, that's where the game went. So, you know, those things happen. - John, Mike Jones about the WFA. This question's kind of shining in offense related, but we see so much, we see half motion down in today's. And I felt just kind of curious, got maybe your history of approaching and footballing. Maybe why we see so much of it now. Maybe why it took so long for some of the offenses, I guess, to get to that point. - I think just like anything, I mean, everybody has a philosophy. You know, the shifts in motions, you know, I think if you watch historically football, I know in the three decades that I've been in, you know, pro football had such a big effect on college football. And then, let's say about 15 years ago, I think it's kind of, now you're seeing the effect of college football that came into the programming. It's more in the past, again, the shotgun. You know, when I first got in the league in the early 90s, you know, I had quarterbacks that had never been in the gun. You know, there's always under center. I'd never been in a shotgun until 2000. So, you know, and then it totally flipped. Now you've got quarterbacks that come in and have never taken a snap under center. So my point is, I think that, you know, the wide open offenses in college, you know, at West. And hey, I was one of them used to stay up and watch the wack and you know, those games, because they were doing some really cool things. So it was different field, different spacing and things like that. So I do think the college game has, you know, affected pro. I think that was definitely part of the migration there. And so because, you know, I mean, in the old old days, you know, everybody played either a four or three defense or just a three, four. So I mean, I just think it's part of the evolution of football. And I think that's why it's so important to just stay on top of the trends. You know, when you hear about, you know, offensive schemes and so forth, you know, they're really being regenerated from past decades, you know, 'cause this game is about a cycle of scheme. And it just kind of, you just got to try to stay on the front end of it too. So, but why it took so long? I mean, I can't really, I don't have an opinion on it. I just think it's, it's part of the trends. And, you know, people tried it. And the first guy to try it was having success. And, you know, it'll always be a copycat leg. - Joe. - Joe, I'm waiting all city Dallas. You mentioned being quicker to the first punch a couple times. I'm just wondering if you found out the lab rate on the meeting event, how do you go about being quicker to the first punch? - Well, I just think it's like anything. You know, you got to get, you got to get lined up. You know, your assignment and, you know, play your technique as fast or faster than the other guy. I mean, so, you know, they got their hands on us a little quicker up front than we did to them. It's, you know, one area of breaking points and route running. So just, I mean, you can take that all the way through, you know, the competitive area of the game. - There. - Like Aaron has most of our lab, this is obviously the first time for being a couple of the loss with Mike Zimmer. What did you, what were your discussions like? - Aaron, what did you learn about the way he was to move on from a couple of months? - Well, consistency, you know, once again, I think you got to remember it's not like we're sitting there, you know, evaluating it. I mean, it's, you know, it's the same answer. You know, you've got the alignments, assignments, make sure the mental part of it's intact, and then you go through the fundamentals and techniques, make sure that's intact, and then, you know, then you're always talking about the finish and the ability to make plays. So, you know, we evaluated, you know, Mike's an early guy, so we talked for a while beforehand, and then, you know, I went in and watched it with his staff at seven o'clock. - No. - No, we struggled, NBC 5 Dallas, Mike, you spoke about being in the game 30 years, and then getting ready to watch ball 14. When a team like this has expectations of ball more, and they're down low, and two, what's that kind of pressure like trying to get that first win? - You talk about their pressure? - Yeah. - I just think, you know, speaking on behalf of other teams is always a reach, but, you know, I've known John, John, John as an excellent football team, they have confidence. You know, they play the NFC Championship game, so, I mean, I think if anybody understands the length of the season and how far out this, you know, we are away from, you know, the most important games, but yeah, I mean, they definitely, you know, 0 and 2, it definitely brings a sense of urgency, you know. We're all in one at home, it brings a sense of urgency for us, so, I think it's just more about being urgent. - John. - Mike, you guys went 10-person now on a bunch of, was that due to Jake being out, or is that just the way the game? - Just part of it, yes. - Yeah, definitely. - What do you like about having, you know, going no tight ends, 'cause you guys have been successful by the multiple tight end formations on the field? - Well, I think it's more situational-based. I think if you go back and look at the situations that we use 10 in, you know, it could give you clarity through the why. They're a nine team too, you know. - So, Mike, when Jalen Brooks kind of has an unfortunate situation where he slips and the ball gets intercepted, do you talk to him about that? Do you like, dad, candle that, or do you prefer his confidence or anything like that? - Yeah, I mean, I didn't talk to him yesterday, but, yeah, I mean, to me, that's part of playing and coaching in this league. You're always talking through the highs and lows of every game, it's part of the event flow of the game, it's part of the communication network on the sidelines. So, you know, dad went back to him. So, I mean, two other times after that. So, yeah, I don't see why it was a big, you know, that big of a deal. - Kyle, how surprised were you when you saw that tape again? 'Cause you had said, you looked like an experienced team, and we didn't finish. How surprised were you when you came to those compiles? - Oh, I was so surprised. You know, I was disappointed, like everybody else, you know? So, it's the first home game, and, you know, had some momentum come out of week one. You always want to improve. You know, at the end of the day, the result is, you know, it's the ride, it's the competition, that's what counts, I mean, it's the process. So, and we did not improve. You know, we did not improve from week one to week two, that's the biggest disappointment. And then obviously the result speaks for itself. - All righty, thank you, Mark. - Thank you. - There it is, Mike McCarthy Press Conference here on your home of the Cowboys 105-3, the fan, a lot to react to in there. We'll do that, resume the NFL news the day, and more when we get back here in the nation. Welcome back, nation. He said it's tough to play if you don't play it all the time. He says there's some things that make it good, and some things that make you go away from it. I'd love to know more about why they have decided it's not for them when it's having a significant amount of success. I think it probably comes down to pride ego, and just not knowing how to coach it or scheme it properly. If you ask me, I think the evidence is pretty overwhelming. Here's Wolchuck with more of your NFL news of the day. - Thank you very much. We'll start with our bad NFL set of the day, but it's good if you're a Cowboys fan and the NFC's, the Giants have become the first team in NFL history to score three or more touchdowns, allow no touchdowns, and lose in regulation. - Wow. - Yeah, that's a terrible stat. The commanders have bad roads on offense too. - They did. They kicked their field goals all the way to victory. - Not bad enough to lose to the Giants though. - But not bad enough to lose to the Giants, no. So yeah, the Giants, the seller dwellers still in the NFC East. Now, we do have some audio to play for you. This was Justin Fields, and he's got the Steelers now at 2-0. They beat the Broncos, 13-6 yesterday. And well, he, I guess, was feeling for his guy, Russell Wilson, who of course wanted to play in this game. Former team, probably meant a little bit to him, but they're giving away a new type of game ball. - I mean, I think we all know Russ got kind of did dirty last year, so I know he wish, you know, he could have played today in this game, but it's awesome. You know, getting that, went for him. He got a petty game ball. So yeah, it's great getting the depth for Russ, for sure. - Petty game ball? - Petty game ball, you know, 'cause he was here, so. - He had a petty game ball. Didn't play a snap. Is that a pity? - Yeah, a petty. - A petty. - A petty. - Oh, a petty. - I bet he would get a petty game ball. - Not that he had anything to do with the win, but they felt for him 'cause it meant something. So they gave him a petty game ball. - I bet it was a-- - It's got to be a pity ball, right? - It's also a pity ball. - He's just saying they're all winning. - I thought so. - Petty or petty? - I mean, it could be petty because he has such a resentment for Denver. - Right, yeah. - That, you know, if you're playing your former team, right, you get a petty game ball? - Yeah, a petty game ball. - But since he contributed nothing to the win, it's also a pity game ball. - Either one works. - Yeah, not good. And it's not, you know, Bryce Young definitely taken an L today, lost a starting job, but Will Levis was not having a good day yesterday either. And his head coach, Brian Callahan, was not shy when he took the podium post game. - You know what, when the pump will look very upset on his side? - I think the camera caught it pretty clear if I had to guess. So, yeah, I was upset. It was dumb. It was the same exact thing he did last week, and he cost us points in a red zone. And that's, that's is, that is what it is. He's a grown up and he knows better. And so, you know, I was really irritated that he cost us three points in a game that we probably needed it. - You could see Brian Callahan on the sideline mouthing what the F are you doing to Will Levis in this moment in the second quarter where he attempts to lateral the ball. The jet scoop it up. It takes away scoring on a scoring opportunity for the Titans. Not good. And that head coach is probably doubting, should I bench Will Levis as well? - It's the same coach who last week said that we would have won if we would have just punted on first and 10 every time. So, he's quickly becoming one of our favorite coaches in all football, Brian Callahan, who is the son of football or running game Moses. - Running game Moses, yeah. - So he's got that old school bite your face off mentality and it's fair because Will Levis went from last week executing one of the single worst interceptions you can ever see just by flipping the ball, trying to flip it like a, like an option pitch, 15 yards for a pick six. And then he does the same thing underhand toss. - What, what are you doing? - Yeah. - You can't have any other reaction than that, that the coach had. - What, the believes going on. The dolphins and Tua came out and said he is not retiring from the national football league. He will be playing as soon as he is cleared, but the dolphins did sign Tyler Huntley, who is a pro ball quarterback. - That's right. - Off of the Baltimore Ravens practice squad. So maybe he continues to be playing for them. - It's just a bummer that Joe Flacco wasn't available. - No, I know. - Oh, Joe. And hey, how about that game yesterday with the Packers beating the Colts? Anthony Richardson, Malik Williams ends up getting the win there. I mean. - Made some plays. - Maybe that happened in, but they ran the ball very, very well. Did the Green Bay Packers to make it one in one. Really poorly officiated game. Yeah, you could say maybe all around in the NFL, but last night some weird things going down with the Texans and the Bears. You had a punch thrown by Al Shire that they're just like, hey, that's cool. We're not going to talk more. - Rocha Johnson just ate one on the sideline. And kudos to him for having the discipline. - I thought the Bears didn't like me. - Yeah. - They're like, hey, we're not going to respond, but it still didn't matter. There was no flag thrown. And then Joe Mixon gets hurt ankle injury on a hip drop tackle. - Yeah. - The NFL was supposed to be enforcing this. Well, he was ticked off. He went on X, AKA Twitter, said the NFL and the NFLPA made it a rule and an emphasis for a reason. Time to put your money where your mouth is. Now, the good news is mixing did come back in the game and played. So hopefully that's not something that lingers on, but I was ugly. - Could have been worse. - They've had a couple of these hip tackles that they haven't called. We had Dean Blandino on yesterday and he was kind of trying to talk about it a little bit, but it didn't make a lot of sense. You know, it's kind of like these crews are told, hey, you know, keep an eye on this, player's safety, and then they don't call it. - They're bouncing a lot of things, you know, trying to keep the TV product watchable at the same time. - Yeah, as their players get just taken off the field. - Crazy, not good. Last two things, some wide receiver updates for you, I'm on Ross St. Brown, has a contusion and he was cramping. That's the reason he left the game yesterday. They're hoping that's nothing serious. And then Cooper Cup gets hurt yesterday for the Rams. The Rams are just-- - Hip tackle, I believe. - It's, wow, it's just awful. It's a left foot lower leg injury. They don't have Puke Nakuo for at least a month. They're in tire offensive lines injured. I don't know what they're doing there with the Rams, but it's rough. - It's an effective technique. - It is, it is, it is, but not safe at all. - All righty, thank you, old Chuck. NFL news to the day, most every afternoon, three o'clock. We had the Mike McCarthy presser at the top of the hour if you want to go back and listen to that. Okay, it is time now for the most anticipated segment of our Cowboys Mondays is Brian first to look at the film. What's coming up, buddy? - Yeah, let's do the autopsy on this one. We'll do that next. All righty, the nation. - Thank you, Lucius. It's an overreaction Cowboys Monday, but Krusty's watched the film. He's got the real deal for you. Krusty's corner brought to you by reliant air conditioning, gimmick-free AC repair and replacement. Here's Brian. - Thank you very much, Cheryl, appreciate that. Yeah, McCarthy, he said something interesting. It's never as bad as it seems and never as good as it seems. He said that. - Yeah. - One of the 15 cliches he said in the first-- - Yeah, a bunch of cliches a day. You guys have more questions about the offense or defense today? - Defense. - What way? - I mean, how bad was this defensive line? What was it when it came to not being able to stop the run, especially along the edges, which is where the Saints had their success? - Yeah, there's people that, I know that John Oning and I kind of got into it a little bit of some discussion about, I felt like that the edges weren't particularly good and John was arguing that the tackles weren't particularly good and the run fits weren't good. I think there's some of that to, I think there's really kind of some blame to go all around with the run defense and the way they play. I feel like though that there were times where the Saints did a really nice job of making you feel like that, that you were going to be single blocked and then it turned into double team blocks. And then when it turned into double team blocks, then guys were able to get off of those double team blocks and then get to other blocks. And this was one of those games where the defensive tackles, and I think John's right in this way, did you know favors in this football game? - They were awful. - Yeah, when it comes to, and I said this in the cross talk and some other things and some discussions we had, if this run defense is going to be any good at all, it's going to have to be because the linebackers go make plays. And your linebackers had absolutely no chance really to make plays yesterday when it came to play in run defense. Now, the ability of the Saints to come off the football, to use what I was talking about, the 21 personnel, the 22 personnel, they were able to secure edges and then they were also able to take their guards and centers and then get them up onto your linebackers. And you played, you know, in this game, you played 88% of the time you played a, you played your base defense. That was most in the league by far. Well, we have a game tonight, but I don't expect the Atlanta or Philadelphia to play base defense the entire game. That's- - Well, to be fair, the Saints are playing basically every play with the full bag and extra tied in. - Exactly. - So you were just matching up personnel. - It was a matchup, yeah. You were trying to match up the best you could and where the Saints were able to make things happen were, was inside when they were, when they got those, we talked about McCoy, the center in the way that he was able to play Ruiz, the way he was able to play, you know, Patrick, the other guard, they just basically said, they took care of your triangle inside. Those, when you look at the defensive tackles and then the linebackers and then they at the point of attack were able to take, and I said this earlier, I felt like that they took really a good advantage of, of knowing that where Tank was or where Michael was in this. And there were a lot of times where those tight ends, those, those tackles were able to come off the ball and get in and once they secured the inside, then they worked on the edges. And once the edges were secured, then that left your corners and your safeties to have to come up and make plays. And you just weren't good enough to do that. Last week, you know, Eric, we were talking about the, the Carolina last week was before Kamara got hit in the game, you know, three, almost three yards before he's even touched. - Yeah, three yards before contact. - Yeah, this was very, very similar before, you know, the Cowboys just could not get anybody in position. And, and I can say a lot of it had to do with the fits, the fits, but the fits weren't allowed because the, the blockers were on the linebackers before they even had a chance to react. - What did you think about when McCarthy said that it looked like a young and inexperienced team? - Well, on the defensive side of the ball? - He said, he was talking generally without apply to the defense. - Well, he was probably talking a little bit about Lea Fowl and what his situation was, you look at what Overshone got on the field, he was a little bit, there was some struggle with him, you know, getting off some of the blocks. Some of the, some of the main problems that they, they did had though, it's the veteran offensive tack, or I mean, the veteran defensive tackles. - Phillips and Joseph. - When you feel like a Phillips and Joseph. - And then- - McCarthy I think is better than those guys. - It was, it was just so clear that these guys, that the Saints really didn't have to worry about those down, those tackles as much. It's like, okay, let's step, let's try and secure, but we got guys that already got them cut off and now you just take the guy and run him to the second level. There was, it was no, it was no like play the double teams and then allow the linebackers to go. It was, it was like brush and then go onto the linebackers. So the inexperienced part I could understand, he's probably talking a little bit about Carson as well. If you look at the touchdown pass, that they had the one that Shaheed, the 70 yard bomb, they're in cover too, and what Carson has to do is Carson has to, he's in a position where he has to jam that receiver. He doesn't do anything, he doesn't do anything to affect Shaheed and all of a sudden you've got a vertical route which is on Hooker and then he takes it to the middle and now you've got the safety, Wilson on the other side trying to find the, he sees what's happening but he can't make the play over there. It was a perfect, there was only 1.6 yards of separation to look that up. - That's perfect, wow. - Yeah, that's how close that play was. And so with 1.6 yards, I think Wilson did the best he could but Carson has to help on the play by if he gets some type of jam on Shaheed, then maybe that allows 'cause you had late pressure from Osa on the play and that would have allowed, maybe then if the car has to hold the ball just a little bit longer because he's waiting for the route to clear, well, maybe you get Osa home on that particular thing, but it, man. All around that was just a, really a poor, poor, a defensive and I don't know, I can't say the effort. I just say that physically if you look at how the Saints played and he was talking about beat them to the punch. - There's quicker off the ball. - Well, they just got into their blocks and they were able to turn ya, move ya, wash ya. You know, they were able to kind of handle, now you made some self-inflicted mistakes. I talked about it on the screen that went for 57 yards for a touchdown. You've got, you've got Kendrick's in coverage there. They run a blitz coming to cars, right. They run the screen going left. You know, that's a one-on-one right there with Kendrick's and then also with Alvin Kamara, he overshoots the play. Now it goes back to the inside. Here's a young guy in experience again. Carson takes a terrible angle to the ball and now you're out the gate and it's gonna be a touchdown that way. So there were some things that happened to you on defense that were self-inflicted in a lot of ways. Yeah, the Saints got after you really well, but there's some things that you could have done to help yourself and you didn't do that. - One other big defensive question I would have is what'd you notice when it came to Micah Parsons and then being able to mitigate his effectiveness? - Yeah, there was, when Parsons against the run and this is where John and I kind of got into it a little bit because there were some times where he, I felt like that Parsons got widened on the play. It was a couple of times where he was able to play off the block and get into play. Okay, three-yard gain, fine. But they had some seven-yard gains at a touchdown run where he got knocked too wide. But John was arguing that the tackle was so bad. Well, no, it was a one-on-one block. It was, they got the tackle, you know, he's thinking like, oh, well, Parsons is playing wide in order to, you know, if the tackle fills that spot, you know, and then the- - That he's free. - Yeah, the line. But they had all three guys blocked at the point of attack. I don't know how you could say that Micah played that particularly well. - He got too far upfield to help. - Yeah, I mean, he's washed. They sure, they hooked the tackle and then they get a guy up on the linebacker. John's arguing, well, he's got to squeeze, you know, if they, the way that he played, they should have filled that better. - Well, you know, Micah could have taken that on better. He could have played a little bit stouter at the point of attack. Yeah, the tackle, the defensive tackle wasn't particularly good on the play. But, you know, Micah could play with a little bit more power on that and kind of squeeze that a little more. Instead, you know, Kamara gets up through there and they, you know, and they gets in the secondary and it's a, it's a touchdown run. So the way they mitigated him though, with Micah in the pass rushing stuff is that, to me, they, they, they, when you watch, they were able to take a, take a full back or take a tight end, put him on one side of the field and bring him across. So Micah feels like that he's got a one-on-one but now it's a, it's, it's a double team block on the outside right there. So he's like, all of a sudden now he's being double team. They also motioned to him as well and then kind of kept in there and then they also blocked him one-on-one. So they, they were, they gave him a lot of different looks as far as a back chipper, a motion chipper and then across the pocket chipper to kind of help out with, with the pass rush. They clearly did not have any respect for anybody else rushing the passer. - Right. - On that, on that defensive line with, you know, with Tank and others. But now Micah was there, was their main concern there and they were able to, like I say, create situations where he was always at least had one guy on him or two guys on him and not letting him have a fr-, they didn't get any many, many third-down situations either in this football game. - Yeah. - There were a lot of second quarter. - Yeah, there were a lot of big plays that they were able to make. And at one point in time, they were like four for four on third down and then they were in the third quarter, well in the third quarter before, you know, so they really, Dallas didn't do anything to, to slow them down on first down or second down to be able to get them to third down to where they could, they could really get after the passer. - Yeah, they were playing ahead of the sticks the whole time and then they never really do just like traditional drop-back passes either. It's like, I mean, Kubiak has this thing dialed, it screens, it's play actions, it's moving stuff. So it's never just a traditional drop-back pass where you get to rush the quarterback the same type of way. I mean, it's a brilliant offense. - Yeah, and I was thinking again, Dawson, about the area of your question that you asked, but there was a crossing route too. And then I just remembered that there was a crossing route with a lobby on third down. And so what happens, they're playing zone coverage and it passes all the way to over-stroke. And he looks inside to see, he sees the crosser, but he doesn't react. So now, a lobby's two and passed him and then they fire him the ball and he's able to get up the field for the first down. So now you're looking at it, you're thinking like, okay, the crosser goes all the way from Lea Fowl to Kendrick's to over-show. - Oh, man. - And now he's late to react and he looks inside to see the crosser, but he doesn't react quick enough to get to the play and a lobby makes the catch and then goes up the field that way. - Quickly, Brian, I know we're on defense here. I think it's great, Zach Martin wasn't hurt worse. Is he still really good? How would you say he's playing? - I think that Zach Martin is playing at a level right now that is not to where his standards are. I think Zach Martin is playing, just, if you look at it, and I'm not even gonna say it, to me, his bar is so high the way he plays. And maybe if we have time later on, I know we have a full show. Can I circle back on the offense? - Yeah, we absolutely circle back. - 'Cause there's some things I wanna get in. I've got this whole red zone thing broken down and I'd like to get into that if I could too. But I think with Zach Martin, you're looking at a situation right now where clearly he is not at the level that he once was playing at, but it's still a winning level. And I don't think there's any huge drop-off here. I just think that he's more kind of a medium player than the great player of the Hall of Fame player. He's been in the path. - Okay, we'll do that coming up at 440. - Okay, yeah, I'd like to get in the crustacean's corner. - Yeah, there's some things on this offense I wanna get into, the interceptions, the Tolbert extensions. And then I wanna talk about this red zone. - No, you take it, we don't need it. We can skip around the bases, man. I'd rather listen to that. - We got scene out coming up next. Cowboys news of the evening. Did you see what Dak said after the game? John Michodas coming up at 520 from the athletic. He'll be chatting Cowboys with you here coming up in the expressway. The fan time now for a scene out. Cowboys news of the evening on an overreaction. Cowboys Monday. Fire burning in Deer Park at this energy transfer station. Just incredibly surreal video to watch everything charred within, I don't know, four or 500 yards circumference of this massive gusher that's just throwing out incredible flames. I don't even know how you try to get close enough to cap that bad boy or what the technique is. But it's the biggest story in the state of Texas today. Down there Deer Park, Houston area. Of course, other than the Cowboys get hooked by the New Orleans Saints. - Did you guys ever see, this is like an old school movie, The Hell Fighters? - No. - I did not see The Hell Fighters. - You ever seen The Hell Fighters? It's about, it's like a story of it. It's actually based on a true guy, Red Adair down there in Houston. - John Wayne? - Yeah, they fight fires. They're like professional like oil, oil well fighters, firefighters, and they're like had all kinds of techniques and going out wells and stuff like that. It's actually a pretty cool movie. - I remember all those stories from the wars and the Gulf of the wells getting lit on fire by the opposing troops as they were vacating the area and how you'd have to go around and try to cap everything. So sure they got some tech. - Well, that's what Red Adair's company did. They went through and their job was to go when you felt like that those Christmas trees, is what they call them and they get blown up. And then now they have all these different techniques that they use to take the oxygen away from the fire and all kinds of, they use robots now more than they use like shields and stuff like that. - That's a 1968 movie, Brian. How do you remember such a detail on that? - The last time you saw that movie, you think? - It's been a while, but I just remember, because when you were talking about-- - No, I love it. - Well, well, well stuff. Yeah, The Hell Fighters, it's actually like you say, it's a true story of about a guy, this crew that goes and puts these wells out, which they know how to do them better than anybody else. - Yeah, well, salute to Red Adair. - Red Adair. - Okay, I think the Cowboys should be listening to Dak even more. You know, we can talk about him having control of the offense of the line of scrimmage. That's an interesting subject, but more than that, I think you should be listening to him throughout the week. You know, on this quote, "Shanna Hand offense" that Clint Kubiak is running, Dak's quote, "It's surprising, but it's the NFL "as far as how well the Saints did "against the Cowboys defense." He said, "Hell, I'm thinking it'd be nice "to be doing that on our side of the ball more "than I'm worried on critiquing our defense." Obviously, that's a good team. Alvin Camara looked damn good. Derek Carr put the ball where it needed to be. That offense is rolling right now, but credit to the play caller over there into that team of coming out and being ready on a noon start made it tough on our defense, which made it rough on the whole team. I'm trying to get there with our offense. So taking a little bit of accountability as well, but is he pointing at the offensive coaching staff, you're Brian? - I tell you what, it sure sounds like it though. I mean, watching that game, and I know Zach and I were sitting next to each other in the press box, and I'm sure everybody was watching at home, it just seemed like it was such a struggle for the Cowboys to move the ball yesterday. - Yeah. - I mean, just to struggle, like every time I looked up, it seemed like it was third down in two, you know? I think just, there were no really easy plays. Did they miss some easy plays? I think there were a couple of, I mentioned the wheel route that, I think that Rico Dattle, if it's thrown out a little bit further, could have been a big play. You know, the flip to Zeke out of the backfield. - Like Adley in that core football. - That's a ball that Dak Prescott usually gets enough air on it, and Zeke catches it, and it's probably gonna be a race to the pylon, but you know, he might get stopped short, but still, it's a chance that if you get the ball over, Grandson like he did, but get it with a little pace, then maybe it's a little bit different story. I'll get into all that when I saw him in the red zone. But yeah, it's just a struggle. It's just a struggle where they need these heroic plays. I mean, Dak happened to run, and he flips the ball basically to Zeke for a 15-yard run when it looks like a sack, you know? Or a miracle catch from Tolbert down the sidelines, you know, or CD lamb or a Tyron Matthew overrunning the play and allowing CD lamb to score. It just, nothing really comes easy for this offense. - Amen, dude. Saints sure made it look easy. - No, they do, they absolutely do. And I think that's where Dak is probably a little envious of like, man, okay, so you're averaging seven, eight yards, a shot, you know, running the football, and then you're kind of-- - You had some guys running open, like the Saints forcing 10 tight window throws. They allowed just three catches for 56 yards on those targets with an interception. So their secondary made things very difficult, but we've talked about this before. Like my thing with Mike McCarthy is he has built the winning culture here, right? This team wasn't consistently winning 10 plus games and making the postseason. He deserves credit for that. - Absolutely. - But on Sundays when you are evaluating him as a coach on the sideline, is he giving you an advantage anywhere? I can't really tell you where he is. And he certainly isn't when it comes to as an offensive-minded head coach anymore. - Yeah. - He's not. - I mean, it's a copycat league, it's a hot trend league, and the Cowboys, I think have decided, and Mike McCarthy is part of it, that instead of trying to keep up with the modern trends that are obviously asking questions to the defense that a lot of them are ill-equipped to answer, they're gonna stick with what's got 'em there, you know? And I think that's a big-time problem. - Yeah, you know, remember when we interviewed Brian Schottenheimer and I asked him the question, and he kind of swatted it back in my face, like at Matumbo, that I asked him, how do you steal? Are you guys, who do you steal from? Are you, you can, you know-- - Yeah, good question. - Oh, no, we really, you know, you really don't do that. You know, I'm like, okay, I was with Andy Reid, he stole all the time. Everybody's steal. - He steals, he steals, you know, he steals ideas from high school coaches and stuff like that. So, you just wonder, you know, is, oh no, hey, we're good enough, we can do this. And you also wondered, do you want to teach, do you want to teach another offense? - Do you want it, you're turning over your offensive line now. The Saints did it in one-off season. - Yeah, they were great players. - No, though, they forever, that was a, that was a Sean Payton offense for what, 2006 until, maybe longer, until, until last year. And then, you know, and they moved on from, from Carmichael, Pete Carmichael, you know, they, that, that, that was a Sean Payton offense forever. And Dennis Allen's thinking, damn it, if I don't, if I don't get an offense that can move the football, I'm going to get fired, you know? So, he might have done something to save his job here with the way that, that, that, you know, Clint Kubiak's doing a nice job. And they got the right kind of personnel to play this way. You got to back it's, it looks like he's found the fountain of youth. The quarterback has been always much maligned. They've got, you know, a lobby makes plays down the field. They got a guy that can run in Shaheed. They got tight ends in Foster Moreau and those guys, they've got, you know, Taysom Hill. They finally found something that he could like, oh, hey, be a, we'll hand the ball to you guy, go be a blocker guy. They've tied in full bag. Yeah, they've got the right type of mix of personnel to be able to do that. Folks are probably saying, well, damn broad as what's, what's Hunter Lipke, you know, what's Ferguson? What's, you know, what's CD lamb? What's, you know, I mean, you're, your creativity turns into, hey, let's throw the ball to Vaughn. Or let's throw the ball a couple more times to terpen. Terpen. And then the executions poor too. Right. Like these little bubble screens that you're going to throw to the outside, they'll work when your receivers want a block. When, when Brooks is not making his block on the outside and Tolbert's not getting hands on anybody. Now all of a sudden you think you have a numbers advantage. Nope, you don't have a numbers advantage. Where's Terpen going? He's going nowhere. He's got a, he's got nowhere to run. So cool, cute idea. But if your guys aren't going to go out there and execute the play, then it's all for not. Yeah, I, I just think, you know, if, with the modern defenses, what they are and what has happened over, probably the last 20 plus years, is you're built to stop the chunk passing game, you know, and you're really good at that. Yeah. So now if you're not making defenses, second guess themselves or get tricked in that half second as the ball is being snapped, good luck creating the space, you know. And what the great offensive minds have done is they're like, well, you know, these teams are fast and they're lighter. Let's bulk up on them and put a full back in the game and bully them. And, you know, it's, it's exactly what the doctor ordered for this kind of, you know, era that we are in. So until defenses say, hey, we better get bulkier, this is going to be the meta. We're an year eight of it. And the Cowboys still don't know it, Chief, what do you think? No, I'm with you. It takes them forever to get going here. And they keep talking about how they were slow off the ball yesterday, slow off the ball yesterday. And a lot of that has to do with now you have the combined element of the sort of flashy offense with all the deception coupled with the physicality of we can have a full back or an extra tight end on the field. And now you're confused because you're, you're thinking, we're probably running the ball when in reality out of this set and the way we can disguise things, we can pass out of it and have great success as well. But you're just on your heels all game. You got it. Micah doesn't eat. They're doing deception within the guys who are blocking him. You're describing it like the snap of the ball. Micah thinks it's a one on one situation. And here comes a guy and boom, now he's doubled and out of the play. And so there's all that type of deception. And your offense has, well, none of it, dude. You're not making defenses, guests. Tomorrow, Davis knew every play you wanted to run yesterday, just ate your freaking lunch. Exactly like the average Packers defense did last year. Below average Packers defense knew everything you wanted to do and the week before that and the week before that. The offense was great last year for about an eight-week stretch and then defenses figured you out. And the last month and into the playoffs, you absolutely sucked. And then yesterday was the exact same thing. They were just, they're two steps ahead of you. And then your defense is playing on its heels and they don't know where they're going. Oh my gosh, is that a run? Oh my gosh, it's a screen. God help you for your screen game too. I mean, my goodness, you can't run a screen to save your life. Yeah, the things you were talking about with the two tight end and like the full back package with the tight end, it helps them also too in protection. They just go max and then they're able to launch the ball like they did down the field. I mean, it could look like, oh, we're going to run the ball here. Then all of a sudden it turns into max protection. And now they've got everything kind of covered. They've got extra blockers in the quarterback. He looked super comfortable throwing that ball yesterday and he didn't have to throw it very much. He looked more comfortable yesterday throwing the ball you did against Carolina. Yeah. The way that thing was coming out of his hand. And the per play probabilities back this up, the film packs it up, logic backs it up. There's like no reason other than you being a complacent status quo organization that you should be resting on your laurels like this. The thing that's in play here is the worst team in the NFL now makes cash half a billion a year. Worst team, you don't have to be good to win. So a lot of these owners are just being comfortable living a great lifestyle. The product is good. There's no incentive to try to win. That's why the Cowboys aren't winning more. And again, back to my original point, the premise is to start the segment. Jerry, Steve, if you're out there listening, what you want to do is lean into what Dak wants. He's been in the league. He knows what's happening. And when he says it would be nice to be doing that on our side of the ball more than I'm worried about critiquing our defense, he's telling you that even though you gave up 44 points, the bigger issue is that we are stuck in the past offensively. And there's a number of teams out there that supposedly don't have good offensive lines that keep running it right down your throat 'cause you're ill equipped for it. And I would hope the answer might be Dak, right? It's, he can point you to the next offensive coach, right? It's not shot in Heimer, it's not Mike McCarthy. There are guys out there, right? I just don't understand how you could see throughout history, the NFL is a copycat league, but now decide you want to, you know, stick with what is tried and true for decades. I think it's a bigger cost than ever of going with an old guy. Unless your old guy is like Andy Reed, you know, unless he's proven that I'm going to be on top of the trends every year as a matter of principle in the process that we build for coaching this football team. Okay, so listen to Dak more. If you're out there, Jones, boys, we got to run. It's the G back nation here on a overreaction Cowboys Monday and coming up next is Wolf Chuck's top 10. Yeah, I just saw that that deer park fire, they just have to wait more hours for it to burn out there. That's liquid natural gas that's burning it. It either jumped or went under the bridge and moved into another town 'cause there's like pieces of liquid propane that are flying through the air. So like hundreds of yards away, they're having to spray down the neighboring houses just in case one of those fireballs hits it. And it looks like there's already been extensive damage in the area. So condolences to property and personnel losses. I believe definitely in order a tragic day for the oil and gas community here in the great state. It's time now for Wolchuck's top 10 at 420. Here he is, Zach with an H. Holy bull. Well, we're some of your biggest thoughts from the Cowboys belief storm that was yesterday against the Saints, eight, seven, seven, eight, eight, 1-1-1-5-3. I did see this, Prosper Zone in Texas center Jake Majors. We had Texas, the Longhorns are number one in the AP poll for the first time in 16 years. So congratulations, horn fans. But Jake Majors was asked where he was on Sunday when he learned that the horns were ranked number one. He said, I'm pretty sure I was on the couch watching the Cowboys get smoked. Oh yeah, they did get smoked. Yeah, that did happen. Unfortunately, I wish it wasn't true, but let's go through some of these courtesy of blogging the boys. They do an outstanding job. Number one, it is the defense. And what the hell happened? They gave up 44 points on 432 yards. They gave up 35 points in the first half alone, which tied a franchise worst record for the most points in a half by a Cowboys defense. St. Scott, a touchdown on all of their first six possessions of the game. I know Zim was talking to the media after coach McCarthy, and he said he doesn't really think it was an effort issue. The team beat us off the snap quite a few times. We didn't get moving quick enough, and he threw back to the pickle juice game. First game of that 2000 season where the Cowboys just got destroyed. They gave up 200 yards to do staling in the Eagles. And he said, I made corrections then. I wouldn't be here now if I didn't do that. Cowboys defense bounced back. That season was ranked one of the best in the national football league. So he believes he's able to do it. Now, I really wonder though, if he's got the personnel at certain spots, I mean, defensive tackle and hey, I mean, at least they went out and tried to bring in some new bodies with Phillips and Joseph. - I just, I feel like, and I hope, I apologize to folks, because to me, when you watch Phillips play, when you watch him play a Buffalo, and I'd love to sit down with everybody. But I watched the Buffalo against the Cowboys, against the Chiefs, against the Eagles. This doesn't even look like the same player. It just doesn't even, the movement, the range, the violence that he played with in the game, it doesn't even look the same. I can understand Linville, Joseph. I can get that when that's a 35 year old guy that's probably, he's just, he is, he is, he is who he is. And you know, that's kind of what you're dealing with right now. But Phillips on tape was a much, much better player. And I'm guaranteed the Cowboys probably saw the same thing. I was watching those games, you know, like, man, this guy looks like he's got something. And then the Giants, they move on in every, at the Giants, they say, no, the guy was good for us. He, we just got younger guys that we want to play with, you know, and I'm like, okay, cool. So it wasn't nothing, you know, it wasn't like he was a bad dude or anything. This thing looked like the same player. Now, and that, that's disappointing to me that, that you kind of evaluated a guy and you think, well, kind of this guy can actually help us. There's a three technique. And he, it just, it was awful. I mean, all the defensive tackles were not good in that football game yesterday. - Yeah, and it's a problem, because now if you're getting washed inside, you know, part of the reason why I was excited. - But it's not washed, it's hooked. It's hooked, it's moved, it's turned. - You're getting completely destroyed. And now you're, the linemen are able to get to the second level. And I thought like the line-backing play, you've got good team speed, you've got an instinctual players were there at Kendrick's. But now these guys are not able to be running cleanly either. - Yeah. - Now they're forced to now have to get on the block. - You're not going to run clean every play. But yesterday was a great example of when you don't get the opportunity. And when you do get the opportunity to run clean, you better go make the play. - Sure. - Because there were a couple of times that were there and the linebacker like Lea Falle just not, not hitting it. - Not hitting it right. And I think that's what the Dawson's questioned and he asked certainly what McCarthy was saying. And I think they had some young guys that it was, the game was a bit difficult for me yesterday. - It's a lot different, you know, once you put Lea Falle and Clark in compared to Kendrick's and over shown, you know. And I think putting the Cowboys defense in base has to have the people on their schedule looking their chops right now. - Yeah, cause I saw a clip of McCarthy asked, being asked why over shown didn't get as many snaps this week. And he said, well, he isn't in the base defense. - Right. - That is Clark. - And we said that 89% yesterday, would you move over shown Brian? Or would you leave him how it is? - No, to me, you have to be able to prove that like, okay, Lea Falle is probably has more instincts as far as, you know, the recognitions and stuff. He's not, he's not as good of an athlete as over shown, but I would make sure that if I'm gonna make a mistake, I need to make it full speed. I need to, I need to have the threat to be able to run. But there's times I could sit down with you and Dawson, I showed you the one play, you know, with what happened to over shown, they got up on him and he is fighting to get off that block. - Yeah, none of these guys are gonna be good enough if you're defensive tackles gonna play like that. - Right, but that's the edge is the tackles, the whole front seven, the whole front seven against the Browns played really, really well. - They were incredible. - Against the Saints, they were off. - And then you're able to have a game where Eric Hendricks is getting 11 tackles and two sacks and interception. That's when your linebackers are going to be able to eat. - Right. - Right. - And it's like, - DeMone Clark being in the base. - Well, Zim loves Clark. - I don't, that's tough to fathom. - Yeah. - I mean, I could understand over shown for DeMone Clark 'cause there were also times where I felt like DeMone Clark was in position and just wasn't able to finish. Obviously, the Shanahan tree continues to be an issue with Clint Kubiak and in that offense. I mean, we've seen that going back to, I mean, how many years now? And look, maybe that, again, we were critical of Dan Quinn with that. Maybe it is more of a player in a personnel issue and it's less on DQ if this continues to be a problem moving forward this year and they're not able to make corrections. Alvin Kamara, I mean, he was unbelievable yesterday. He finished the game with 180 total yards for touchdowns. I mean, he did it receiving. He had a pass block. I think it was the opening drive. One time, the Cowboys decided, all right, we're gonna send some pressure. He did a great job in pass protection. I think it was when they allowed, it was either the Shaheed touchdown or the crossing route with the Lave. One of the two is a huge play. - A huge play, yeah. - And I thought to myself, damn, well, that's not happening if Alvin Kamara doesn't step up and make a great block in pass protection. He was fantastic. And I mean, this was one where it was the huge place. I mean, the chunk plays that they gave up in this game. And then also, you combine the chunk plays but also long sustained 10-plus drives from the same. - Well, the thing that to me when Zimmer brought in here was that he wasn't gonna give up the chunk plays and they gave up to a lot of them yesterday. That was really the difference in that game yesterday that the Saints ability just to dial things up and then to get huge plays out of it. And at defense, they play the cover too. They play a lot of zone and it's built not to give up big plays. They gave up a lot of big plays yesterday. - Yeah, Saints are like, we could score on you in three or four plays, one play, or we can do one play. - Yeah, you wanna slower a quick down? - Yeah, we can give you like a seven minute drive as well. - Either way, we gotcha. - Yeah, you're done. - And it was also disheartening 'cause we had heard Micah and Zim talk about, hey, like the communication between the two. This is what I'm seeing. And to your point, like, maybe Micah didn't know what was coming all the time. This gave the Saints credit, right? They had a good plan for him. - Oh, they mixed it up for him. - But maybe, you know, moving him around. Like that was some of the stuff we got excited about. And I mean, for him to just be, you know-- - But you wonder how much do you move around in base? - Yeah, well then get on the base. - That's, I mean, that's, if they're gonna force you to play against the fullback and multiple tie-it-ins, where else, I'm just asking. And that's a question I need to ask somebody because if you're playing base, how many spots can you play Micah Parsons? You know, where can you put him, you know, as a base, you can put him at one of the linebacker spots? - Yes, please. - I think you still need to put him head up over the center and be in that A-gap, at least a handful of times, and let him just disrupt crown. - Yeah, and did we see that at all? - Oh, no, you didn't. - I don't think you did at all. - No, no, you didn't. But that's what I'm saying. When you play base, and I need to ask them this, I mean, you play base, how many places can you play him? - Yeah. - You know, that's the problem. I mean, you pretty much have to say, okay, our three linebackers are this guy, you know? So if you play, if you put him over the center, that to me, that's getting him into, that's getting him into third down. You know, that's getting him into, but you might not on a third down, play base. You know, I think you're kind of, you're damned if you're doing, you're damned if you don't. - It's you aiming, it's more or less, you're getting your ass kicked regardless, so like-- - You have to almost dictate what he's gonna play. - Yeah. - You're gonna either say, hey, you base your linebacker or base your defensive end. If you get teams, they're gonna play 21 and 22 personnel against you. - Yeah, you just have to have an answer. Like, it just can't be like, hey, we have this unbelievable potential defensive player of the year, but we just have to add, we have to the offense when they-- - It does it. - They're just gonna do this and they can just completely erase them. - Well, they can't. - But it's a defensive player of the year candidate, but when they do this, we have no answers for you. You have to have something-- - You get erased when you can't play run defense. - No question. - That's on the other 10 dudes. - His greatest strength to you is his ability to rush the passer. And yesterday that-- - Yeah, but I would say he's a disruptor. Like, just let him blow up the middle of the offensive line. It's a rundown. It's first in 10. Okay, they're gonna turn around and hand it off, fine. Let him just blow up McCoy right there in the middle of it and just see what happens. - Yeah, try something. - 'Cause he is a disruptor. - Yeah, he is. But also, I mean, hey, he's gotta get off blocks as well when it comes to run defense. - Sure. - I mean, I hear what you're saying, right? One versus one, there were some times like Camara was the one that stonewalled him on that play that I was talking about in the past protection. Missed opportunities on offense. I mean, you had the Rico Dattle play. - Like the Rico Dattle play, I think the flat pass to Zeke could have been a touchdown right there. - Some underthrows. - The throw that the sack that he took that was that still gave up, I felt like he could have thrown it to cooks to his left. I think he was looking for Tolbert inside, but instead he tried to fit it, you know, he got sacked. - Yeah, they missed some opportunities and, you know, if they were going to score, that's the only chance. I mean, keep up. And I think McCarthy even said that, right? I mean, they just needed to find a way just to keep up. Field goals weren't going to get it done. - Juanier returning kicks, that one didn't look great. - Makes no sense. - I mean, he was, he did it in college. I guess they wanted to see what he could do. It didn't work out. Thank God for Brandon Aubrey. He's now 13 on 13 kicks over 50 yards the last two years. And he's still the man. I mean, right now you can make a case. He's the MVP of your football team. - Is Turpin okay? He got thrown down hard pretty good a couple of times. - I didn't hear anything, and there were no reports. - I saw nothing about Turpin now. And then you're still searching for, you know, that you're running game. Now, probably a tough evaluation there with kind of how the game flow went and you fell behind, but the running game certainly a big question moving forward. - Okay, they zoomed in on some of these houses at Deer Park. They're blowing the dang shingles off the roof with these fire hoses. They're hitting them so hard with the water in a couple of different spots. I'm sorry, I could, I can talk about it with a little bit more of a smile and energy 'cause I read further down to the story. No loss, no injuries. - Oh, thank goodness. - No, but it hurt? - It's crazy because we are looking at a geyser, but it's fire coming out and out and out. - Is this an opportunity for the Tennessee Titans to practice some wet weather returns? - Yeah, fire hoses in the evening. - This is actually like watching Will Leves play football. It's just fire all over the place, wreckage and frustration. Krusty's corner part two coming up next. - Yeah, let's talk about the, there's some offensive things I want to get into if we can do that. - Thank you, Lucius. Krusty's corner is every afternoon 340 here in the G back nation, Brachi by Reliant. He's so loaded with film takeaways that were back right here in the 440 for Krusty's corner part two, the offense. Here's Brian. - Thank you very much, Sean. I appreciate that. Appreciate the latitude of allowing me to do this. - I want to know where either of Dax picks a problem in your eyes? - The second one was because I didn't feel like he had a chance on the play. The way that, I felt like that he forced the ball in there to lamb, the way the coverage was playing, it was really just a, he's maybe-- - Was that kind of a yolo ball? - I think it was. The one to Brooks, and I was going to get into that, matter of fact, the Brooks one, when we were coming back, I was wanting to start with that if I could, because it's going to be a big play. - Yeah, he keeps his feet. - Brooks stumbles. I mean, literally, he is, as he's running out of his break, he literally loses his balance and Dax thinking like, okay, I'm going to put the ball right where it needs to be, and if Brooks keeps his feet, that thing's got a chance. And instead, he's running as he tries to cut off his right foot, he just completely stumbles and falls, and I thought it was one of those things when we first saw it. You know, Zach, you and I were talking at the halftime show. I was thinking maybe a little bit of lack of courage. - Ooh, on Brooks part? - Yeah. - Maybe you heard some footsteps. - Well, you never know when you make those in-breaking cuts, are you doing it thinking like you're going to get whacked, you know, with the inside route there? And are you not sure? And then your body will go limp as you're running the route, and then you'll, he legitimately slipped. I mean, he just fell. It was, I thought that because sometimes you get a guy like Tyron Matthew that's playing in the middle of the field, and you're thinking like, oh my gosh, if he's anywhere around, I'm about to get hit. We saw what happened with Tolbert. That was a whole nother thing with Tolbert. You know, that's a play Dax by his time throws you the ball. Just extend your hands. - Just attack the football. - Yeah. - Get the ball. Don't sit there and wait on it. You, by waiting on the ball and maybe another young guy thing that we're talking about, but yeah, go get the football. Don't sit there and wait for the ball to get to you. But by doing that, you gave Tyron Matthew the opportunity to drive and knock it away from you. - Yeah. - Go attack that football. That's your ball. Go get it. Unfortunately though, it ended up being an incomplete pass. I hear what you're saying on that Brooks pick though. I feel like that clumsiness is just, you know, you're not present because you're thinking about something else, like the tackle or your own head. - I kind of felt like I'm like, this is a young guy and you're going inside here and you're thinking, this could be a big collision if I go get this football. - Now how bad were the running backs? I tweeted mid game like, we got to get a different runner. I talked about it a couple of times last week. What was the biggest reason that they only got three yards in attempt? - Yeah, a lot of it was when, for example, I'll walk you through some of the red zone stuff and I'll tell you why. And then once you hear as I walk through the plays, you'll get a theme. - Okay. - You'll get a theme for this, okay. Okay, first red zone play and I just want to, 'cause I think there's an issue here. I think there's a red zone issue. And is it execution? Is it play call? Is it all the above? - Yes. - Oh, here we go. Vaughn at left tackle. Liptke doesn't control his man, unable to get blocker up on Davis, makes the tackle for a three yard game. Reverse to cooks. Brooks can't control Taylor off the edge, loses sustained, tackle for loss. Granderson, sack. Prescott appears to want to hit Tolbert inside. It's bracketed. Cooks adjust wide to try and get open. He's able to. Granderson spins inside on steel for a sack. So there was that pass play. Prescott short to Elliot. Play had a chance for a walk in. Prescott has Granderson closing, but can't get enough on the pass to get it to Elliot incomplete. Flip to Elliot, steel laid out to secure block. Saints have more defenders than blockers. Smith and Beebe appeared to go the wrong way. Line backers run to make the tackle. The linebackers they were responsible for. Prescott sack, no route open. Prescott tries to climb the pocket to escape. Has a lane. Breezy able to reach around Martin to knock the ball loose. Caught a break to recover the fumble by Tolbert. Prescott Fade to Lamb. Good coverage by McKistry to hold Lamb up and contest the ball. Harris breaks well in order to help knock the ball loose. That was the big hit that Lamb took that was incomplete. Prescott to Tolbert moved the pocket to the right. Tolbert covered well by Adobo on the play. Nowhere to place the ball has to throw it wide. Span forward, forward down. Could have been the defensive holding on Harris, but not called. Prescott tries to work him from the middle of the field, but he's unable to adjust tough chance there. Several plays on the running plays and things like that. Was it unblocked guys? When, you know, here are the Saints. They're, they're hat on hat with every one of your guys. And then when you have to be able to try and run the football, you can't get a block on a linebacker. You, you don't, you, you miss a sustained block. They put you in position to block on the play like a Tolbert. And you can't sustain or Brooks and you can't sustain blocks. They're asking guys to throw blocks and get blocks. And then all of a sudden they're thinking that the play, the, the, how the play is going to work is, Hey, all right, we're putting you in a position to block. You got to get somebody on the second level. Can't let the linebackers run over the top. We can't go the wrong way here. We got to get a guy over there. Well, we got to get this block. It's a lot of the common theme for the Dallas Cowboys right now in offense when it comes to some of the running game stuff. Yeah, that's what Mike McCarthy said in the pressure. Young guys making mistakes. Yeah, you've got, you've got guys that they're, they're counting on, they're counting on BB. They're counting on Guyton. They're counting on Tolbert. They're counting on these guys to get blocks or to, and in order for the plays to have some success and they're counting on Vaughn. They're counting, you know, they're counting on these guys to, to make plays and, and they're just not making the plays. But the, the, the stuff to me, the red zone stuff, you know, I just kind of, okay, they're trying to trick you here, trying to do this, trying to do that. And you're wondering like, okay, is, is this really the best way to, to, to do things? I mean, the quarterback himself made a couple mistakes. That's a veteran quarterback right there. You know, their quarterbacks not making mistakes. Your quarterbacks making some mistakes here. You know, so I, I kind of feel like that some of the red zone, I think it's on McCarthy. I think they're asking some of their young guys to maybe do a little too much. Yeah. And then also the veteran quarterback has got to help you with some of the plays that he needs to make. I mean, in fairness to them, it is a young team as they're going through their version of a rebuild, you know? Yeah, I, you know, I just, to me it's, I don't think they'll ever, they'll, they'll tell you that it's not a rebuild, but you're right. You're right. I mean, that, I just can't believe they were just so bad. They were so bad. The defensive stuff was bad, but there's the, if the defense was so bad, it really, well, the defense being that overshadowed the, the offense and some of the struggles they had, you know, and both Mike and Dak were saying, hey, we weren't super satisfied with the Cleveland game. So this is like three games in a row. Yeah, we said the same thing about that. I just, I don't, and I don't think it's scaling it back because you got the veteran quarterback. But I think you have to look at it like, okay, some of these guys were asking, are we asking some of these guys too much? Are we asking too much of some of these, these guys? We're, we're setting them up for success as well. That's what I think the coaching is all about. When you sit there and, and, and you look at red zone problems, yeah, the veteran quarterback, but okay, you're trying to throw the ball, you're looking at, you're looking at told her to try and throw the ball inside there, you know, and all of a sudden you get sacked where a veteran receiver has found himself open. He's worked himself. He's breaking inside, but he sees what's happening. So now he works outside, you know, and you can see he's kind of looking around like, bro, just throw me the ball. We'll, we'll, I'll walk this thing in, but he's looking for Tolbert on the inside break and stuff like that. So, and then Tolbert has to find a way to, to try, you know, and he's not open. Brooks has to run a route inside. Where does Dak throw the ball throws into Brooks? He's stumbling interception right there. You know, there's, there's, there's just a lot going on for some of these young guys. And especially it showed up yesterday in that football game. We're, okay. So we're talking about young skill guys failing to block. I'm, might be fishing for something positive here. Scuny had a couple of catches. How did he look? Yeah. Scuny was, to me, they needed Scuny to make some plays. The one-headed catch was, was really athletic on his part. There was times like I say that when they got down the red zone where when I mentioned the, the, the play on the reverse, like he had his guy taking care of downfield, but they don't get, you know, Brooks loses his guy. And now, so here's Scunemaker. He's going to get a plus for his block, but you know, that's, they need more from that from Scunemaker like that. They need more. I mean, I, I don't know why Dak threw the ball to span for it on fourth down. I know the game was out of, as it was out of hand and you're just trying to, but he's not open. You don't have a coach that's giving you easy buttons. Yeah. That was, there was nothing, there was nothing easy about them playing offense yet. We all think Dak Prescott's better than Derek Carr. What was the difference? He had a coach that was helping him out for four quarters or three. That's all it took to just kick your ass. Yeah. I think you're, I think you're on car made all the plays. They did. He made it. He was there. Derek Carr made the plays made a lot of plays. Derek Carr was better yesterday for sure. He absolutely was. But his play caller was really good. He was and he was and his teammates were good too. You didn't mention right. Dak didn't at times. Yeah. There were stuff there. Dak didn't hit it. I just feel like that there's throws that we've seen Dak make before that, that, that like that passed the through short as Zeke, that could, that's easily, you know, that's something I've seen him make. That's a throw on off balance touch pass, you know, seeing him make throws on the wheel route down the field, you know, lead him out there. Don't, don't bring it. Don't bring the ball back, you know, where the defender can make the play. There were a couple passes like that where you still the ball out in front and you got a shot there to make a big play. Dak would have had him in perfect yesterday, but you know, it's well, they needed him to be perfect. You know, they needed, they needed something. Their defense wasn't going to stop the Saints. And no, you know, but he has an opportunity, but so the play callers got to help him too. For sure. You know, the play caller, the schemes got to help him. I mean, if you continually put young guys in position to, to think that, okay, well, let's see if they can make a play. Now you know, now you know, like, hey, we can't put Brooks in that situation. We can't put Tolbert in that situation. You know, we've got to think of other ways to get blocks or don't run the plays, you know, if you're going to have negative plays down in the red zone, then don't run the plays. No. Yeah. Yeah. Indeed, man. Red zone issues, a big problem for the Cowboys. I feel like they have been quite a few years in Dak, but Scott's career and usually it's only good when they have a good running game going. Yeah. That's what we've got to do to consistently score field gets crunched. You're asking Dak, Dak to retire windows and throw with more anticipation. Don't be surprised. I asked you about that yesterday in post game, right? Like that can make things easier. You figure out a way to get your running game going in the red zone. That's going to help a lot. All right. In addition to the finest is coming up next. Eric, what do we got? We'll take a next gen look at the football weekend and we'll ponder the meaning of this cowboy audible next post season baseball is here and it is the absolute best time of the year. I'm Rob Bradford of baseballs and boring and we're going to have you covered every step of the way with instant reactions from players and coaches and managers and fans and reporters and everybody else who is immersed in this awesomeness and all the craziness that comes with October baseball. So follow baseball is in boring in the free Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts. Yeah, buddy. It's our for the G back nation on one oh five three the fan. You're about 20 minutes away from the expressway Cowboys beat writer John Michota is going to join us for his takeaways from the Saints game. It is time now for an addition to the finest. Here's Eric. All right, I didn't get to listen to much of Brady. We were at the game yesterday, but I did see this clip after the Jalen Brooks trip and interception and I appreciated it from Tom. Would you let me ask you this and that spot I'm not saying right now. Young guy you're trying to, you know, get that third receiver build up as confidence. Yeah. Go back to him. Does that make you trust him less? You know, not today. I thought that was just a fantastic response there. Not today. Maybe maybe another time. Maybe another scenario. He'd also be MF and M and chew an amount screaming on the sideline too. That's true. That was the Brady way. That's true. Now to the rushing attack. I mean, my goodness. It's so bad. The Cowboys ranked 24th in success rate despite seeing eight or more man boxes on the second fewest amount of plays this season. That's what was so notable yesterday is they're begging you to run and you can't do it. Can't do it. And if I was the Ravens, I would play dime against you. The whole game, Nick Harris came up with this idea and I like it. If you think about it, play dime the whole game and dare you to run the ball. Yeah. And if you're the Ravens, just say, okay, fine, we'll just, we'll cover up all your guys. We'll double your guys and, you know, we dare you to try and run the football against that. Yeah. I saw from John owning Cowboys have the fifth worst success rate when rushing against light boxes. And there's four teams worse. Yeah. The second worst rushing yards over expected in the NFL and their ball carriers have forced the seventh fewest missed tackles per carry. So far through the first two games, like Rico hasn't forced a missed tackle yet. Neither is Zeke. Deuce has forced, I believe three missed tackles, but it hasn't really resulted in much in the way of yards for him. So the running back room is a disaster that's a, but that's offensive line and running back. It's just all not good. The scheme's not good. There's no nuance to it. No deep, no defenders on his heels. I'm telling you, just go back and watch tomorrow Davis. And that's a guy who, when you studied him last week, you're like, you know, he's kind of, you know, not quite the same, not the same tomorrow Davis that he's been dominant for the last better part of a decade is getting a little bit older now, a little step slow. And he knew everything you were wanting to do yesterday. If you took all of their traits and could make the, the, you know, the running back out of three of the best things they do, like Rico's speed, Zeke size and, and Vaughn's shiftiness, you might have an above average player. Maybe. Yeah. And even that's a stretch. You know, there's no guarantees. You need speed and size. Yeah. You know, it's, it's not a difficult evaluation here. It did just, you know, another reason to believe the Cowboys have punted on this season already. We did have at one point, the, the, the, the mics on the broadcast, picking up Dak at the line of scrimmage, uh, doing a Kim K audible at the line. Okay. And I thought Lucius is a hypothesis and theory on what that meant was probably the best. What is it? What do you think that is Lucius? When you're quarterback gets to the line of scrimmage and hits you with the Kim K audible. I'm thinking there's probably too many men in a box. Yeah. I think he probably. Too many men in the box. Too many men. I think so. So much so much. You have to call a timeout and gather yourself a little bit before you make a decision like that. Kim K situation on her hands. Kim K. That was the tweet of the day. Rottie by Lucius Alexander. Or I think he was calling for a bubble screen naked boot link. Oh, good theories. All good theories. Can you beat Lucius's theory on what that cowboy Kim K audible means will take your text at eight seven seven eight eight one one oh five three by the way Mike of course doing is his podcast today. It's not Tuesday though. So that's weird. But he has full control over his contents. Maybe he's hitting a little back to back action, but a little Monday Tuesday episode for his first listeners, which is pretty incredible. His his stuff on the effort though. The effort was not there by all 11. You have a standard. We didn't uphold that standard. I'm determined to get this thing right. So I mean, it's tough to have effort after you've played a really good game versus a really bad football team last week, you know, you can easily forget what happened to you the last time you were at AT&T stadium in a game that mattered and you got completely embarrassed. But even that wasn't enough to show up with a little bit of effort there yesterday according to Michael Parsons. I kind of feel like that's not given the Saints any credit for how they played. You know, I think they, I think the Saints, you know, you, I feel like that they blocked you well. They, they did everything they had to do to move the football to say you didn't play with effort is kind of disrespecting the Saints. And I don't think the Saints, I don't think that was flooky offense or anything like that. They, I think that was, you know, if you want to say, Hey, we, we played, I don't know the word. I mean, it's not even like technique or anything like that. You just, you get your, yeah, you just got your ass kicked and to say you didn't play with effort, that doesn't give the, that that's not given the Saints any credit for them kicking your ass. Well, the coaches haven't wanted to say that they didn't play with effort. McCarthy and Zimmer both didn't want to say that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that can kind of get on criticisms of the coaches, but I think it just doesn't, you know, give enough credence to the idea that you're not good enough. It goes to this, this Cowboys entitlement syndrome that we're awesome. You know, if we could just play our hardest and be coached well, we're going to win this, you know, it, it doesn't recognize that the same freaking thing happened to you like four times last year and it's happened twice in a row at your own stadium because you're not good enough, you know, depending on DeMone Clark and Maris Lea Fowler and your defensive tackles, uh, Malik Hooker at times, you know, that's just too many guys on your defense that are below average players to be a good defense right now. So maybe you don't want to say that as my comparisons, like we got to try harder now. You got to get better players. Yeah. It's harder to build a better football team. Yeah. Looking at you in the front. That, that I would say that's fair criticism right there, you know, but I don't think they've got the personnel specifically defensive tackle to do what they clearly don't. They clearly don't. That's something that, I mean, if you look at how it all broke down, you know, the bigger, the biggest problems were that their inability to control the line of scrimmage. And then it's, you know, and, but some of their, some of the really good players like, you know, with tank, I mean, for him to get hooked on a couple of plays, you know, he's really good against the run. It's kind of like it was like, you know, it was crack backs. Eight is lunch. Yeah. It's like you kind of feel like though, that tank seeing a lot of those and he kind of has that awareness that I'm about to get cracked here or he need, or he didn't get a crack call, you know, from somebody. But you know, you're feeling like, Hey, they've got, you know, they've got three guys over here. There's a good possibility with how tight they are to the formation and I'm about to get a crack here. And sometimes you have to be able to read that too. If you're everybody else, like, you know, the safeties, the linebackers, you know, they're setting the, setting the formation into the boundary and then running the ball the way they did. Man, that's, that's tough stuff. Well, speaking of cracks, the 940 thinks the Kim K audible was a change to the touch push. 682 thought they meant that they were going deep on that play. You have the 972 thinking that it was just a fake, the Kim K audible was just a fake of some sort. You have the 682, the Kim K audible was because everybody was coming defensively, they were engaging eight, you know, just one of those all out blitzes. So you got to be careful of that. But that was a little bit of a surprise. I don't think we heard that in Oxnard, that particular audible. But they, they, they brought it out in a huge way yesterday for all of the Fox microphones to pick up. Now we did get a good Marvin Harrison Jr. outing and Kyler Murray outing yesterday as they absolutely throttled the Rams. The Rams are just a broken disaster Cooper cup is now going to be missing an extended period of time according to Sean McVay. So they just continue to get more and more injured and the Cardinals are a frisky bunch. And it was like Kyler realized that throwing to Marvin Harrison Jr. is actually going to be good for you. That's going to work out for you more often than not. I mean, he put up a monster game for catches and 130 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter of the game and no receiver has done that since Marvin Harrison seen no way. Isn't that cool? Yeah. It's amazing. No player has done what Marvin Harrison Jr. did yesterday in quarter number one with the amount of receiving production. No one's done that since his own dad did it, which is just incredible. That was back in 1996. So wild thought, you know, the quarterback's job is to throw the ball to his best receiver. Who would have thought that Kyler Murray didn't realize that was his job. Until yesterday and it's all starting to come together for him and maybe it works out for Arizona. Maybe now they can start winning games. Yeah. And and Marvin Harrison Jr. By the way, topped out at just over 20 miles per hour yesterday. So he was running with a little bit more purpose. Remember last week he was only 16 miles per hour, which is like very, very shamefully slow, but maybe he was just he was just jogging in frustration last week because his quarterback didn't think it was his job to throw him the football. They have the lions this week and then the Niners two weeks after that. Can they do it? Are they back it? Well, I mean, I'll tell you what they always play well. Do they, which one of those teams in the, the, the Arizona always plays well? I think it's the Rams. It's the Rams. They just beat them. They just beat the Rams. So okay, that's tough sled though having Detroit and then, and then San Francisco like that. I know the Cowboys are going to have that coming up as well here where Detroit and San Francisco are hating you. I didn't realize that Dallas has a Thursday night game after this one. Yeah. So it's like, yeah, you get a New York. So you're going to play this game. It's going to be a nice game. Right. It's a weird earlier in the season type. Yeah. Yeah. So it's like, yeah, you get in New York. So you're going to play this game. It's going to be over, you know, six 30 and then you got to be Thursday night against the Giants at the metal. I say shout out to the schedule. Yeah. Thank God. Flush the one and two star and then just go get even a two and two. Yeah, dude. Sure. We could get the bad taste out of your mouth and then you get extra days to prepare for your next loss, which is super, super exciting. Rice Young is benched and that's big news in the football world today. And apparently his expected points added through his first 18 career games is quite a bit worse than what even Zach Wilson's was through his first, first 18 games. And there's plenty of people that are coming out right now. Like, Hey, I know this is a surprise and nobody was expecting this benching, but we're talking about Bryce Young just not being capable at all. He has struggled so bad. And so what happens now? Because some people are trying to get him traded somewhere. I wonder if the Panthers are already at that point where they're willing to just punt on him and then just accept the fact that it was an awful trade up to go get him and then you're going to be the worst team in the league this year and you go get your, your new number one overall picket quarterback and you just trade Bryce Young. The dolphins. Lovey Smith. Lovey Smith affected the draft in a way that like he won that game against the Colts, the final game of the year that gave the Texas, the Texans franchise, the second overall pick. Right? Yeah. Yeah. So he saved them. They were going to take. I mean, it's a Texans could have drafted Bryce Young and everything could be different right now. Lovey. Lovey. They're going to do a deep blue on this one. The day. Lovey Smith. Say that. Lovey. Let me save the Texans. I like this from the 808. I love how Eric sits on his high horse looking down at other teams. Guy. Your team is trash, too. Yeah. I mean, we've been talking about the Cowboys show. The golfers are trash. It's gonna be dolphins. Could be Cowboys. Could be anybody. I don't know exactly, but we've spent the entire program talking about how bad the Cowboys have been. So now it's time to talk about some other teams, but yeah, the, I'm sorry, Bryce Young and the Panthers are not good. I don't know what you want me to say other than just the honest fact that they are probably the worst football team in the sport. And I don't understand what the NFL is doing, trying to grow the game by sending the Giants and the Panthers to Germany here in a couple of months that I mean, the tough one. Those are the two just NFL sewage. You would pay money not to watch those football teams. And that's what you're taking across the world to sort of advertise your sport. That makes no sense. Well, they might be used to low score. That's true. Yeah. They love field goals. If they love field goals and they love watching these rookie quarterbacks try and play football because that's all their teams can do is kick field goals and punts. Remember when Caleb Williams was drafted and then they drafted a punter a few rounds later and Caleb Williams texted the punter and just like, Hey, do so, you know, you're not going to be punting too much this year. And of course, he's already punted the ball 12 times through two games. That offense with the bears right now, Seth Waldron play caller. He's struggling mightily. Caleb Williams with that offensive line, big time struggle. And now you have Caleb Williams on pace for zero touchdowns and 17 interceptions and being sacked 77 times. Well, I mean, he was running for his dear life yesterday and was still sacked seven times. Well, Chuck, he could have been sacked 15 times yesterday. I mean, like Anderson was running around like what the hell is going on. This dude, too. Deany. It was unbelievable what Caleb Williams was able to do just to try and like keep that offense alive at times. But I mean, we were talking about that Washington offensive line and Jane Daniels may be getting killed. Caleb Williams might not last the season. This is a dangerous deal for him with that bears for all these rookie quarterbacks are having some big time struggles here. And I think JJ McCarthy right now who hasn't played a snap due to injury is still tied at the top of the touchdown pass leaderboard for rookie quarterbacks because none of them have thrown a touchdown pass. But they have thrown some interceptions. I liked this interaction yesterday with the rookie in Denver, Bo Nix on one of his multiple interceptions. Well, can you take us through the interception in the end zone? Yeah. Chopped back through it to the other team. Okay, very good. Thank you for the analysis. Bo Nix. Very literal. There it is. Thank you. Chief. It is an overreaction Cowboys Monday here in the nation. If you're wondering if you're doing the math in the five days, I got a lot of guys to layer in there and stuff. So that's what you're looking at. By the way, saluted lighter to get another six K's like four innings over the weekend. Mark Schlerith will be on with us tomorrow at four forty as John Michauda from the athletic joins us now on a overreaction Cowboys Monday. John. How the hell are you? I'm good. I'm ready to overreact. Come on. What did you take away from yesterday's game as far as the overall outlook of this team? You know, are there issues, you know, too big to overcome? Yeah, that's a good question because while the team is different, there's there's different players than there were last season and in previous seasons. It's tough to watch that game and not see some similarities to whether you want to talk about the Green Bay game or more so for me, that Arizona game last year early in the season. It just doesn't make sense why you can have the high highs that you had on those first two weeks last season and then have that Arizona stinker and then do the same thing. To start this season with, I guess, maybe if the Saints go on to be, you know, I don't know, like make the NSC Championship game, maybe look back and go, well, that was just a really good team. I just don't get the sense that that's going to happen. And so because of that, you factor all that in and there's parts of it where you're just like, it makes it tough for me to sit here and tell anybody that, yeah, no, I think that this will all get fixed and this team will go make a deep playoff run and get to a Super Bowl and everybody will just look back and laugh at that because that was an outlier game. We've just seen it too many times over the years, particularly the run defense is the biggest thing for me. I really question, you know, the coaches and the players don't want to talk about January, but to me, that's what I judge this team on is what happens in January and I just don't know that I see a run defense happening anytime between now and January that's going to be able to hold up consistently to win multiple playoff games. And John, I mean, you were there and got to hear what Zim said. I don't, I don't know if there was anything that stood out to you from Zimmer's approach to this thinking he can fix it, but I wonder if this is just, it's a personnel problem. They're just not good enough at defensive tackle. So I will say this. I'm not a person that I wasn't around the team covering the team when he was here previously. So when, since I've covered the NFL, he was, you know, the Viking Tech coach. And so when he was asked questions about today, I will say he does come off as like, you really do believe what he says. Like he is, you know, he is adamant that he's going to get it fixed. He mentioned the whole, you know, getting it fixed back in 2000 when they opened the season and got blown out by the, you know, the Eagles and he got it fixed then and he'll get it fixed again this time. And so we'll see, you know, I specifically asked about the defensive tackle position just because, you know, this isn't like a, oh, the last couple of years, this hasn't been up to, I mean, defensive tackle. It's been a long time since it's been a team strength and he maintains that they have the guys that he thinks can get it done against the run at defensive tackle. He feels comfortable about that and he thinks that if you can just get these teams to have to be in third, third long situations, that their pass rush will take care of itself. And I do believe that it just, I wonder against good teams that really want to run the ball. Like I said, in January, I wonder if they have the guys inside that they can get the job done. What was the locker room like after the game? Pretty similar to, to most losses. I mean, I will say this when you cover a team that has like a person, you're always going to have like, Mike is not going to be a guy that just leaves without talking to the group, you know, and so, and he's going to give you thoughtful answers. And so when you have some guys like that in the locker room, it's never too bad. I mean, I've covered teams before where you go in after a loss like that and really no one's talking. You might get like one or two players and that's it. But I mean, most of the guys talked and, you know, Mike is the only one that mentioned the effort. Nobody else I heard had said that, you know, people talked about, I think Eric Hendricks said about, you know, it humbles you and other players talk about it being unacceptable in that. But I will say, I mean, we've heard that stuff before, you know, I mean, I remember that Arizona loss, it was, yeah, maybe we got too high in ourselves and you sit there and you scratch your head and you go, you got too high in yourself, there's two games. You know, you blew up the Jets and the Giants. They're not good teams. How did you get too high in yourself off of those two games? And so, like I said, there's just a lot of stuff that happened in that game that I take the Saints out of it. I know that you guys deal with this a lot with Cowboys fans and when things don't go well, people like to take shots at like, well, the team isn't that talented as them. The team, there is enough talent in that locker room that what happened yesterday should not happen against any team in the league. They shouldn't get blown out by the Chiefs, whoever you want to say is the best team in the league, the Niners, whoever you think it is, nobody should blow them out like that. Nobody should go their first six possessions and just go right down the field and score touchdowns. And real quick, I just want to say the part that I thought stood out the most is when CD makes that miraculous catch, they get the touchdown, they answer and it's right back in the striking distance, you got a ball game. And then the defense gets back on the field and I think they let them go 70 yards, like 11 plays. Yeah. That to me was the most disheartening part. Yeah. It really felt like the Packers game is John Michota is joining us back to to Zim to jump ahead to the Ravens game. He said Micah Parsons could be used as the spy for Lamar Jackson, which is interesting by itself, but also is is over shown, not favored by the coaches as much as the fans in media thought maybe he was. What do you say? Yes. So when I tweeted that out, I've noticed there's been people that have commented that no, that's not it at all. This is just my take on that. I think that Zimmer stand at the podium and not he doesn't want to tell the, you know, the Ravens, you know, yeah, over shown is going to be the spy. I will be surprised if over shown as in the spy on Lamar Jack, it just worked too well against the Sean Watson and in in in not that he's anywhere near as mobile as Lamar, but more so than a Derek Carr would be. And there's, it isn't about, it isn't about demarvian over shown with the coaching staff, like them not liking him. It's that they, they wanted to be more in base, they're based defense yesterday. And because of that, that's where he got more in Maris Lea file. And then the other factor in with it as well is that because over shown has come off that knee injury, I do think there's a little bit of them wanting to not give him a full, the number of reps he would get, let's say if he was coming in off of like, you know, he had never had the knee injury, I think they're slowly trying to ramp him up. I think that factors in as well. But I, I'm interested to see demarvian over shown next week, just because I was stunned at how he couldn't, we just, he was so amazing in that first game. I just thought we would for sure see a handful of like plays where you could notice his speed and that, and it really wasn't there. And I don't think it's an over shown thing as much as I, I, I kind of think that the defensive line never really gave the linebackers a chance to really eat and do what they do. I think that factored in as well. And so no, I don't think it is anything with the coaches. Now if he's barely out there against this Raven theme, I'll be, I'll be a little bit more surprised. But no, I still think that they, they think they're expecting a lot of the Marvian over shown this year. John, take your pick. You want to talk about the Cowboys run offense or red zone offense. Which one would you like? I'll talk run offense. Let's do that. Okay. And when you look at this Cowboys run offense yesterday, probably, you know, the game got out of hand. But do you have any confidence at all if there's anything, is there anything you feel like you can hang your hat on going forward with this run offense? I do think the offensive line will continue to get better. The more snaps you get with Bebe and Gaiden, and I think they'll figure some things out there. I'm just, I'm not confident in it, like, you know, my, my, the top confidence for me would be 2014 with the Marco Murray, I'm just going off the teams I've covered. Right. 14 Murray, 16 is equally. It's obviously nowhere near that, you know, but I think it's probably, it, it's closer to maybe 15 where they come back, they, they let Murray go and they come back with Darren McFadden and Joseph Randall. And it's not great, but it's still McFadden ends up being the thousand yard back. I think Randall met at like 350 yards or something like that, obviously nowhere near what Murray did. But it was good enough to win, it could win you games if you had a good rest of your team around. Obviously in 15, they didn't win. Romo went down. But on this particular team, if you had that run game, I think, I think it's good enough. I think it's good enough that it can, it can get things going to where this team is, is strength is, is, is passing offense, but you're not going to be able to meet the peak of that if you're not running the ball at all. I do think he can get better and I will say, I, whether it's Dalvin Cook or somebody that's not on the team right now, you can, I think you can add running backs and a pretty low cost. And if, and if it's not working with the group they have right now in another week, two, two weeks, maybe three weeks, maybe they kick their tires on that. I just think that's more fixable than like when I was talking earlier about the run defense. John Rashida with us from the athletic here on 105 through the fan. I did wonder, John and we, Gavin read the quotes from Dak yesterday in the press conference and he was kind of referring to like, man, I kind of wish our offense could do some of that stuff. I think Dak's kind of getting maybe a little frustrated with how this offense is. That's interesting you say that because I, I do think it's, it's weird to say this, but as a reporter, there are times where I'll read a quote and then I'll listen to the person say it and I'll have a little bit different feeling off it. So when I read Dak's quote on that, I do think it does sound like that a little bit. But I asked him that question about the defense and being surprised. And that was his response to it. And I, and when he was saying the response to me, I took it more as, I don't know what you want me to do here, but I'm not going to throw this defense under the bus. I got to say something right now. So let me sit there and say, I wish we could score every single time we went down there because I'm not about to trash our defense because plenty of you guys are going to do it anyway. That's just the way I took it though. John Machota of the athletic here with you on 105 through the fan. Did you guys pepper shoddy with questions about the Shanahan offense like they were flying at Mike? He didn't get as much of those as Mike did. And I don't know. I mean, I think it's fair. I mean, it's, it's certainly something that we're seeing around the NFL, but I also wonder with that is, so are we looking at a future where every single team has an offensive coordinator that war offensive head coach that's going to run that system? I just, I know it's a copycat league, but I just, I feel like nothing, none of these trends last forever. So eventually that people are going to figure that out and then it'll be something else. And so there's just a part with the Cowboys, like, you know, I get that people, you know, see that and they're just like, well, why don't we have an offense like that? Well, there's a part of me that covers the Cowboys that I'm just like, yeah, you know, when the Cowboys will turn to that offense, when it's like that cycle is already coming to an end, you know, instead of catching it at the, at the early stages, not because if you want to take the Cowboys out of it, I just think of it from a perspective of as bad as you think the Cowboys are, they're nowhere close to being as bad as Washington has been. And the fact that they had the whole crew on their sideline at one point, I mean, they had their pick, they could have Shanahan, McBae, whatever. I mean, they, and they let them all out the building. And so there's a part of me that that, that, that does wonder, I get that they're coming off of this, you know, a bad loss that, you know, that's the thing that needs to change in that. I don't, I don't see that as being the issue with this Cowboys team. And I really have the last few years, it's really been the stinker of a game that particularly happened on defense that is the reason that I feel that they can't take that next step. Any idea what the Kim K audible is? That's a good question. Yeah. I knew when he said that, I was, because I was listening, I've been listening to the game broadcast live on YouTube TV while I'm watching them. So they're probably, you know, about 30 seconds by I knew soon as he said that, that that was going to be a thing. But no, we haven't, we haven't got a chance to ask, and there's no chance I was going to ask in the post game after that awful of a game, but I'm going to get to the bottom of it for you guys. Because I am interested in that as well. Yeah, get to the bottom of the Kim K thing, please. It's a drama show to hear with this. What can you tell us about to Zach Martin, Jake Ferguson and the chances they play against Baltimore? Probably the best thing that's happened for this team over the first two weeks is that they've been able to dodge injuries that when they happened, they look like they could potentially be maybe not even, maybe not season ending, but ones where kind of like we've been hearing today, whether you talk about Cooper cup and some of these guys where it's like, ah, you know, Christian McCaffrey looks like he's going to be IR out four games. Like there was just a way that Martin went down yesterday, I was thinking that was the case. And then I thought for sure when he came out of the injury tent, he'd go right to the locker room and he didn't. And when he got an exercise bike, I kind of thought that was kind of a good sign. And then they put him back in that game and I was like, Oh, yeah, no, that's a really good sign. And so it sounds like that they expect him to play this week and that he's not going to miss any time. And then everything I've heard on Ferguson is that he was close on Sunday, well actually on Saturday when they when they had their practice, but they wanted to give him a little bit more time. So I fully expect him to be on the field again this Sunday. So fixing the defense, are you trying to trade for a defensive tackle then or how could you do it and miss what's left of this season? I mean, it's a great question because I just don't think it's doable. And the reason why I say that is because it's defensive tackle like the elite of the elite. I just feel like it's almost like quarterback or it's so there's so few of them. And when I say, I mean, one that you'd immediately plug in, you're like, no, no, this is fixed. And the problem is that when you've paid the contract to DAC and to CD and you're planning on paying Micah in the future as well. So I don't know if you can be giving up the picks that it would take to get a really good defensive tackle that would instantly come in and fix this thing. You know, I'm pretty sure that the Rams have Aaron Donald's rights even if he decided to come out of retirement. But if there was some way they could work a move there, you know, that's the one I always say to people when people are like, when they give the hypothetical, whether the season started or right now with the whole, well, there's no chance that I'm going to ever believe that the Cowboys are going to be any different. I'm like, well, if you woke up one morning and you found out that they got Aaron Donald, I bet you that your tune would change on that, but I still think the Rams own his rights on that. So I don't, I wish I had a good answer for you, but I just, I don't think that you can just fix it mid season. I mean, the whole way to fix it with my Z Smith and it just didn't happen. You do you believe 1993 Jerry would get him out of retirement in a Cowboys uniform? I do. Yeah. Absolutely. Thank you, Johnny. You're the man. Have a great one and we'll catch up with you soon. All right, guys. Take it easy. Yeah. Bloody. Yeah, that's why they won. They got Charles Haley. They got deal. You know, it's the blueprints already there. Jerry, we know, you know how to do it. By the way, police have a terminated, I think is the right way to a chase that started in Kaufman. Guy shot at police during the chase came up 75. They stopped him at 635 and 75 and now there's a, there's a body laying next to an SUV. If you're going through that area, that's what's responsible for that slowdown. It's time now to go into the pimp cup. Oh, my God. You know, I couldn't resist with LA live. There's a guy laying in the street, Lucius, just was terminated, was just terminated. Let's go to Lucius and the pimp cup. Hey, I told y'all about them Saints fans. Yeah. I told y'all about their Saints fans. They are obnoxious. They were there. Yeah. Oh, my God. You see them? They had a whole parade out there. They had a whole parade. Yeah. Jerry's world. Yeah. Lucius, we were doing the, Harrison and I were doing the pregame show outside and to Saints fan, a lady came up because I listen to you guys every day. You're the best. And then we're like, yeah, remember the lady that she's decked out in St. C. just got full Alvin Camar outfit on. They're so obnoxious. And they're right. We love you guys. You're the best. Yeah. And I'm like, yeah. They are ridiculous. They're beat with the blinking lights and the hands off flash up. Saints fans are still partying after 6 o'clock post game when I left. It was like a very friendly confidence there in the pregame. You know, it wasn't like as disrespectful as Eagles fans. No, they're not nasty. They're not nasty. They're just obnoxious. They want you to enjoy the fun, but my team got his ass kicked. And they were not, they were, it was not like a slow start for that noon kick either. No. It was 9 a.m. And they were, they were already ready. Already at it. Yeah. And they got it in their system. Saints fans took over the Buffalo Wild Wings and Cedar Hill and they ran them cowboy fans out of there. I'm talking about to the point where there's helicopters and stuff flying over exit the building. I ain't lying. I'm not lying. All right. Let's get into a Monday, Friday edition of LA live right after the Great Rig James. All right, that's Michael's hook sensitivity, that's a women me saying, Michael's just so sensitive. What's up, Mike? No, two, he be using women and contesting, Mike walk up the girls on the stadium, all did he say. Is it all right if I come down there and sing to you? And when we go on, then if you, if you don't scream, Michael get real sensitive and cry on your ass. Let me hear that record she's on in my life, Michael go. I love the music expression. Jameen, stop teasing. I'm not sure if we would have the Jackson five the way we know it was a potato sneaking off and grabbing Joe's bass guitar and learning how to play that thing. Was he the leader of him? Was he the older one? Took a laugh for a while. I think Jackie is the oldest one. Yeah, yeah, but yeah. I was saying, yeah, I'm acting like a little bit. You're right, man. You were there. Outside. I was there. You've been around for a long time. I've been a long time. Yeah. When they were, had the cameras at. I was like, I was a kid. The bulb exposed. Yeah, I was with the, yeah, I was there with the, when they were kids, I was a kid. Yeah, you shouldn't worry, man. Shout out to that. Shout out to that guy. They were still on tour and everything, man, the Jackson's hate to hear it heard he was like driving home from a road trip. It may have had a heart attack while driving. That's scary. Yeah. I saw medical incident. Yeah. That's scary, bro. L.A. Live for a Monday, September 16th, 2024, it is a Monday, Friday year in L.A. Live. You have called two games at one time, and now you called the studio and the game at the same time. So you never cease to amaze me. Incredible. He was, man. No hesitation. No, Hessey. Can't hear anything. I got this. Don't worry about it. I got it. You just went right to it, bro. Get the Bob right. Get the Bob right. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. L.A. live 1053 defend on a Monday Friday. Oh, something I've seen over the weekend. I'm starting to think Uncle Shannon Sharp may have played that whole Instagram situation on us. Really? Here we go. I'm coming around. Fred Davis with that call too, right? When he came in? Yeah, Fred. Yeah, Fred. Fred was right. I feel, but I don't, his reasoning. Yeah. He may have been off. Yeah. Okay. So maybe Fred Spidey's system was on, but the reasoning was wrong in my opinion. Yeah. Yeah. I was starting to think he pulled a car dash, you know, and I was put the sex tape out there for clout. Yeah. Oh, wow. Yeah. Absolutely. How many steps does it take to go live, folks, on Instagram? Because somebody grabbed the phone and I'll try. I've never, I got you. I think you're still going to press the live button, right? I've never been left. You can't like throw it on the ground and let it bounce. No. Yeah, I think it's two steps. Open it up. You click the middle button. Wait. Yeah. Yeah. Click the middle button. Yeah. But then you also have to turn it over. Yeah. And then if it's your first time, you're like, there's things you have to press. Like, okay, I'm okay with this. I'm okay with that option. Like you have to set it up, right? Two buttons, a slide. Another button. Wow. At least see. Had he gone live early in the day. No, he said he's never been live before. He did say he's never been live then. Yeah. This is tough. I'm telling you, bro. That's a lot of steps. A lot of steps. That's why we were alleging. We at least threw out the idea that maybe the girl was trying to get the clout. Michelle. Michelle speaking of Michelle. Does he need the clout? Uncle Shannon is also selling my my fail merch. Oh, wow. He's really capitalizing on this. The true American dream. That's a that's a guns and roses song. It is. It is. It is. We got copyright. It is, bro. I love that. But I also thought he had like a blue chew deal as well that was coming through. Look at you. Look at you. Look at you. Don't say hello, fam. Why can't you let me get there? Let me get there. But now you absolutely 100% correct. Shannon Sharp announced a merch drop deleted the post. There's $32 if you want that 69 Michelle shirt. It looks like the. It's like a NASCAR logo. And the 67 gas station logo. Okay. Or 76. 66. Yeah. Gas station logo looks just like that. Utica. Yeah. But both items were pulled from his website right now for some reason. I don't know. Maybe he knows we're on to him or maybe just doesn't look good. Or maybe he didn't work out the splits with Michelle. I don't know. Oh, excuse me. My fail. I don't know. But yes, you're right. Mr. Gavin Dawson. You don't miss anything. Uncle Shannon Sharp also has a brand new sponsor and he played this during his explanation with Ocho Senko on that show. What is it called? Nightcap. Listen to this. Hello. I'm Shannon Sharp and I'm a real sponsor. Do you want hotter? More spontaneous sex. Roseparks can help. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Are we talking about your sex tape slip off? No. No, you got a sponsor for spontaneous. Yep. All for dual action prescription treatment that's given men stronger and harder erections. Roseparks works faster than other treatments. Because they're dissolved under the tongue and go directly to the blood stream. Why does that matter? Because now when the mood is right, he'll be ready. He be ready. Is that a stunt? You guys think that's a stunt? Yeah. Hella coincidental, bro. Like you dropped this ad. You got Mama Phil merch. It takes you 16 steps to go live. But you did it accidentally just by putting the phone down. Phone never shook. You know what I mean? It was like in a good spot. It was never moving around and everything. Just saying, bro. Let's have one of the magic phones. Look at him. Look at him. Fun in the light. Futuristic phone. You're looking kind of funny in the light. Uncle Shannon, just saying. You don't have to lie to us, bro. You don't have to lie to us. Just drop it. Let's see what else we got right here. Ella live 105. Three to fade. Little Jackson's. I swear. I've got to get it down. There was another assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Yeah. You got to see that on... Was it Sunday, I believe? Yeah. He was playing golf on his... One of his Florida golf courses in West Palm Beach. I love West Palm Beach Florida. Is it bad that I was so swimming in football yesterday, just drowning in it all that I didn't even realize it? That's how the media goes. It's crazy that they didn't break into the game. Like the former president was almost your shot again. And a big deal. It's become so normalized. It's insane. That's what I'm saying. Like I told you guys, we are living in a particular time here, people. They will study this time period over and over again. Ask how it happened. How did they get through it? If we get through it. Secret Service said they seen a gun man about 400 to 500 yards away in the bushes. The bushes. They seen the barrel of a gun from 400 to 500 yards away. How? They got the magic eyes. They're zoomed in. futuristic eyeballs. They see a reflection. They have goggles or something like what's going on. Unless I got that Lacy from Brooks Eye, so she'd tell a whole show. I imagine he's trying to regulate it with sniper rifles, so maybe they were scanning. Maybe they were scanning and you see that. It's just a little funny over there. At least they've leveled up. Did they see a reflection of the barrel? Yeah. Or maybe the scope of listening. Yeah. Some shot. Yeah. Maybe it hit the sun or something like that. I think they had a drone in the air too. And it drones too. Seems gut feel. The man with Ryan Wesley Roth. It's always three names that do these things. Ryan Wesley Roth. Hey, aggressive to him. Kind of. Yeah. The hyphen took down his social so we can't see what he's been talking about. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that's kind of weird, man. Boy better move about smartly right now. How many more days have we got to the election? I don't know. He better move about smartly. He's still got a campaign. Dude, I'd get myself a pope bubble at this point. That's what I'm saying, man. Got less than one day to TD Tuesday. I know that. Yeah. Let's see what else we got right here. LA live 105 through the fair. I'd be up there looking like a proper dictator behind a glass wall. Big facts, bro. Big facts. Do y'all follow Mr. Dr. Locke MD on Instagram? Dr. Locke MD on Instagram. Talked a lot of football stuff. Injury dude. Injury conspiracy. Oh. He says there's something funny business going down with Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL. Oh, yeah, there's a lot of that going around. That's what he's thinking. That's what he's thinking. Did he have that Mahomes stat about the interceptions? Yeah, the refs not getting all the calls. I think the ball hit off the dude's head. Listen to this. What you were about to witness could not be pulled off by any other team in any other stadium in the national football league. Fourth and 16, 48 seconds on the clock. Death, taxes, and the Kansas City Chiefs somehow, some way, being bailed out with the game on the line. You can't make it up. We've seen it all. And listen to Tony Romo immediately start doing tricks on Kansas City. It's the only call he got there early. Just the emotions of that play gym. That's what gets you. You just need to get some emotion when your heart reads out. What? What did he even just say? Look at this. That is bang bang. Oh my gosh. No, they can't keep getting away with it. They can't keep getting away with it. What do you want the defender to do? Why wear a ref jersey when you can just put on a Chiefs jersey? This almost looks scripted. Look at the ball land and the flag immediately fly. It's comedy. It looks like it's out of a key and peel sketch. And here comes Harrison Booker. It's automatic. He walks it off. We've seen this script before. Almost too many times. Absolute insanity in Arrowhead once again. Oh, and here's Taylor. I'm happy she's happy. I don't know if she's happy. Is this on the Rishi rice play? Yeah. The last play that he was definitely early. It was, yeah, it was as clear of a penalty as anything I've ever seen in my entire life. Because I get, I didn't get to see it. Like obviously Brian and I were doing the post game show. So I couldn't focus on that. I'm driving home. And then I saw people were just going crazy over this. I see the play and I'm thinking, I can understand if they just don't call it last play of the game that happened sometimes. But it was pretty clear that he was early. It stopped his movement up in his jump. Yeah. It knocked his eyes down. It's definitely interference. Yeah. Good content though. Yeah. Dude's on fire. Dude, he's a great job. Yeah. You full of it. Sounds right though, bro. Yeah. Amazing. You're wrong. The entire basis of you were... But he was entertaining. Thesis is wrong. But it was. You're quite the showman. Great delivery though though. And they said Tony Romo was glazing Pat Mahomes at whole broadcast. I believe it. Not surprised. There's Pat Mahomes right here throwing a ball into the dirt. Look how Tony Romo explains it. This is Mahomes throwing it in the dirt on purpose. So he sees it and then he's got such great instincts. He tries. The guy coming right there from the inside. He saw Wilson coming. He didn't see that initially. But he sees everything in that. It's a winning play. No, Tony. No, he didn't see that initially. But he sees everything. He did it on purpose, man. It is pretty good. Yeah. It's pretty good. You feel like that would be like satirical analysis on Saturday Night Live. But he sees everything. Yeah. Oh, before we get out of here, before we get out of here, you know the playmaker Michael Irvin is an NFL correspondent for Cameron and Mason on the it is what it is sports show. Music mogul, Jermaine Dupree is out here snitching. If you don't know who Jermaine Dupree is responsible for giving us Chris Cross. Well, he was telling Cameron and Mason about the infamous White House. He's snitching. Now he drops snitching telling Cameron Mason about the White House. So of course Cameron Mason had to ask Michael Irvin about the legendary White House. And they talk about it. But I didn't know people were coming down Michael Irvin about creating a White House doc. I want to see the White House documentary. We've been waiting for this for years. Michael Irvin? Michael's sitting on it. He's not what he's going to want to drop it. You don't want to drop it. Yeah, Mike. We got to shoot a doc. Yeah, Mike. Yeah, Mike. We got to shoot a documentary on the White House, man. Yeah. Yeah. Damn it all free money for that documentary. You know, White House wasn't just food full grown blown. There was stages to getting to that. You know, started off in an apartment and we needed to grow up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The move. Come on, man. Somebody money with Michael. We want to see this White House doc. I'm pretty sure to do numbers on Netflix or wherever you put it. It's going to do numbers. It's got Cowboys name on it and debauchery. That's right. It's going to do numbers. All right. Lord willing to creep don't rise. I'll be here tomorrow. If God wants me to be here, y'all be safe out here. All right. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lucius. There he goes. L.A. Live every night about 540 here in the G bag nation. So follow baseballs and Boring in the free Odyssey app or wherever you get your pod. G bag nation. It's our five of the nation and it is time now for the one opportunity that you get every couple of months to call in and compete against your fellow tollos for the best phone call of the day. That is right. It's time now for the six o'clock sound off at 877-881-1053. Wow. It's been so long. I forget the rules. Number one is you only have 30 seconds. Number two is you got a sound off like you've got a pair and number three, I won't tell you, but we're doing fine. And if you ask it, you'll hear the dial tone at 877-881-1053. Uh, did the Cowboys have a chance at fixing this? Who is most at fault for this train wreck? Is it the front office? Is it the coaching staff? Could the right head coach fix this? And what was going on with some of those passes Dak Prescott through, you know, he's supposed to be the best quarterback in the NFL. That's what a salary says, right? I mean, thought to Derek Carr significantly outplayed him yesterday, but maybe that goes back to the coaching again at 877-881-1053 will get through all of your phone calls and then we will all vote on which one we like the best and that is your six o'clock sound off win or couple of lines open right now. If you want to jump in, loses you'll get you screened up here between callers. So you might have to let it ring for a second, but we're going to kick this off here. Online one. It's one of our favorite callers. It's your guy rodeo Ron here in the G bag nation Ron. Good evening. Sound off like you got a pair. I'm so thankful that these Dallas Cowboys defense air local police, okay, that they were trying to catch the criminal. They wouldn't be able to catch one at all this week. Burn it over. You should learn every one of those team cowboy gave me the clear off and kick the red squad. Go nuts. And remember, if you're not listening one on five three, the best team back nation, check it. You know me? What if you win? That's right, baby. You go wrong. Nice work, Ron. I like that idea. Aubrey should get to kick every defender right there in the nuts. What was the okay, his theme to start out with because always write this down because I want to make sure remember. I forget what was that if if the Cowboys were as good as local law enforcement, I forget where he lives. But apparently they're having a tough time apprehending criminals. Okay. So it's a criminal thing then. Yeah. I just want to make sure when we vote, we kind of know what we're talking about. We're on criminal criminals. Yeah. Criminal's got that. Okay. Yeah. I don't know. You're the numbers guy on the show, bro. Are you kidding me? You want to get to the 46 yard line of the opposition? That's your 71 yarder. Hang it and bang it. I believe. We were talking about this in the press box, Bobby and Nick Harris were keeping track. I believe the game finished where Brandon Aubrey is on pace to kick 68 field goals on the season, which would be the record by 16 field goals. It's amazing. It's disgusting. It's a line to Jeremy, you're in the G bag nation sound off like you got a pair, sir. What is of G bag nation, man, don't you know what really pisses me off? The fact that everybody's blaming deck, they paid back $60 million. What is he supposed to go out there and tackle everybody? Come on, man. Our defense was absolutely horrible. We need this defensive line to freaking step up. Our defense attack was needed freaking grow a pair. You want to talk about fans growing a pair that D line needs to grow a pair and freaking step up. I'm tired of this, man. Thank you, Jeremy. I'm very tired of it. Open to line at 8, 7, 7, 8, 8, 1, 1, 0, 5, 3. Yeah, I think just about everybody deserves blame. Like Brian, you watched the film, both sides. Did anybody play great? Yeah. I mean, that's, I mean, we were talking kind of like a schoon maker and some stuff, some positivity from him. But other than that, not really no. I mean, it wasn't. Lamb had an awesome play. Yeah. That's, they, they needed more from, they needed more from their offense and they got down the red zone. Didn't get it. But yeah, the defense was poor all day. You just, you know, you couldn't ever, you were, the only hope you had was to keep scoring along with them and maybe get a stop. But you know, you couldn't keep scoring along with them and then you couldn't get a stop. So I think to say everybody coaches included, bad day for everybody. Rookie left tackle. It's okay. It was worse. Wow. Still was worse in this game. Still give it more pressures than the rookie left tackle. Eighteen million dollars. But Guy. Definitely not, not a great game. No, no, that's what I'm saying. Yeah. It's really bad. No, I'm not sitting there saying that. I'm saying that your right tackle wasn't very good in the game yesterday. Yeah. Let's see if big truck driver can be good. He's online tree. A line three sound off like he got a pair. This is the big truck driver. I'll tell you what he meant. Yeah. First base first. Gary Jones needs to grow up there and find himself as the general manager of the Dallas Cowboys. He needs to grow up there hard general manager, hard good coast coasting boys up coast that deuce is up low and out of tackle with a hand on a hat pop somebody's hand off man. We need to get back to Jimmy Johnson, a 1992 93 football. Come on. There he goes. Big truck driver sounding off like he's got a pair. That was awesome. Gary to fire himself. A little bit. And then fire himself. That's great. Yeah. We do need like organizations win championships. There's no doubt about it. It's two most important things. Your front office, your coaching staff before you can even think about it. Line four is a gentleman named B Way. You're in the nation sound off. What's up, G bag nation? Yeah. Hey, I agree with that guy was about Jerry Jones. He needed fire himself and Stephen both and higher coach that can and let him coach him up and stop blaming everything on that because that can't win games by himself. That's right. B Way opens a line at eight seven, eight, one, one, oh five, three. I think it's been like four or five years now that I'm saying fix the running game, fix the running game, fix the running game and you end up third and long again and again and again. It's surprising. They were like 45% yesterday on third down like it was that it was actually pulling a rabbit out of a head. You know, Oh, witness him. Yeah. Pulling a rabbit out of his head. It doesn't matter. You're line five, Tim. You're in the nation sound off G bag nation. Why do we do this every year? Why do we sit on here and we have all these Dallas Cowboys fans and they're upset acting like we supposed to do something. We ain't going to do nothing. We got a $60 million quarterback with a two cent arm. We got a defense that's got more holes in it than Swiss cheese. We got a owner who's playing a GM and he just keeps playing the part, but it almost like we got a GM from the we store instead of a real GM. We got a coach who's hanging out last year's morals. We got a defensive coordinator that's playing like it to 1980s and then all of us are getting hyped and oh, yeah, we did something because we want the first game, but guys, come on. Y'all didn't see this coming. Y'all didn't see that we got a dad gum, holy defense that just allows anybody and their mother to run. We can't run the ball. We don't have any playmakers. We ain't got any dogs, but here we are sitting here, all upset today. Get real. Make a money sandwich. Time's up. Good call, Tim. I'll let you go along because you were kind of on fire there a little bit. He was eating up for sure. But yeah, it's a defense bat against the Browns. No, we were thinking that maybe this defense finally could be like, holy crap, is this a top and elite unit, but we did say we need to see them against a unit that is not without their starting offensive tab. This was the truth. The capable quarterback, the Sean Watson is not and the Browns were wounded up front. You feel like that this team is closer to what was yesterday than it was for the against the Browns. It's probably closer to what we saw against the Browns in the middle because they're probably going to win more games than they lose. We saw this happen last year where they lose in a atrocious fashion. It's crazy. This team has the ability to absolutely dominate average and below competition that makes them appear elite statistically, but against anything good, it's like they revert to one of the worst teams. Kind of didn't feel like the Saints were really good though, right? No, no, but to be fair, we were working on very little knowledge. We were one game into the season with a, with a new, with a new situation with the Saints. Yeah. So there was, there was more unknowns than knowns, but yes, they have completely overachieved through two weeks. The Saints. Yeah. I think so too. I, I think they're going to make the playoffs and the Cowboys at the Saints. Oh, the Saints. Yeah. I kind of felt like the Cowboys were going to be nine and eight though, right? Yeah. I mean, that's, that's when we did the checklist that we had them sitting at one and one. I mean, we went through and all voted as a show and nine and eight ended up winning, but I think as the off season went on, I even had them in like 11 and six. And I think they'll, they'll still win around 10 games. The biggest problem that they have to me, and I don't, I, again, I don't think it's the defense. I think it's the, I think it's actually the offense. I think it's the offense that inability to run the football, the inability to play in the red zone and your quarterback can't miss any throws. And it's not all his fault. Yeah. I mean, I mean, they, they've got to overcome if they're going to have, if they're going to have some of these struggles and play all these young guys like we talked about on defense, you know, they've got it. They've got to help their, they've got to help their defense as much as they can. Did you see guys open on offense? Not really. Yeah. It's like CD lamb against the world. See, that's, that's where second best player Ferguson wouldn't plan. Yeah. But, but it's a big gap between him and CD, but I can say it can't be such a struggle on offense to move the ball. And I know that guys weren't always open, but it's, it's, they've got it. You've got to figure out ways to get guys. So they can't run against the light box. That's why they can't get guys open. Is it all about the running game though? I think so. I think you got to be balanced. You got to make them defend the whole field. Dak's, I mean, there's very few quarterbacks. They're even slowing down the chiefs, you know, this, this scheme is slowing down great quarterbacks, you know, much less slightly above average ones. Yeah. I just, I don't, I don't get how the Joneses can continue to look at this and think, yeah, Dak can do it by himself, you know, with three yards per attempt running game. But, you know, it's been going on for so many years since Zeke's been through his prime, like really since 2019 or 2020, you had the, that you had Tony Pollard who should have lit the league on fire and you didn't go to him until he was injured. You know, it's just a horrible mismanagement of, of how they allocate resources to get a running game. Colby is on line seven. You're in the G bag nation. Colby sound off like you got a pair. Hey, lucky man, seven, let's get this going. I told you what, guys, that running game, ooh, we can walk this angle from Dak. I think everybody walked away. So guess what? Now we got bringing back some defensive help to stop the run. I tell you what, if we can't stop the run, forget going on 11, whatever, no, we're winning seven games this year. Look it. I like that. Take Colby. It's strong. And it's starting to look like I got a, I got to ask myself, you know, is this thing, you know, slowing down to a point if you look at some of the losses late last year, green bay and now this New Orleans game, maybe I got to reevaluate. Maybe they're no longer capable of beating the wildcard teams and they're, they're sliding back with what they've lost an age on a player like Zach Martin into being even worse than that. But I'll, I'll continue to let this thing play out. I've never been super optimistic on this team, but I was willing to be open minded after the training camp and after week one, like, okay, let's see what you got. But to me, they, they just revealed that they're going the opposite way of where they need to be headed. And I think next year is going to be a rebuilding year as well. This might be until we get to 2026 before they can start with an upward trajectory again. Here's ash online a year in the nation. Sound off like you got a pair, buddy. Thank you so much for taking the call. Fellas good and gracious. Great balls of fire. Can the G bag nation listeners just take a chill pill, please? It's week two. Do we look around the league and see all these other teams that have lost this week that have lost week one is week two that press got to hear national media talking about that press got to give his money back. Imagine going to your employer who's paid you gave you promotion and then someone say give the money back. He can't play D and he can't play middle linebacker. He can't play wide receiver. You got guys falling down on slipping and falling. It's week two. Relax. I love it. Ash, I do feel like this is a continuation off the train wreck we've seen really for the last four seasons. Oh, no, don't tell that to Brad Jam. Is that right? We're going to hear more about that. That was a, you know, that was a pretty good call. Take a chill pill. I don't know though, I think we've definitely seen enough and I don't think anybody's really overreacting because this is a continuation of what we saw against Green Bay. We were hoping Zimmer's approach could make them more fundamentally sound, but that was just hoping him last week. Line nine is Danny. You're in the G bag nation, Danny, what you got boys, boys, boys. I want to shout out against Mr. Jerry Jones. We get the richest owner in the NFL, the most expensive franchise in the NFL. And he forgot to put the defense on the plane in Cleveland, Ohio. Where did they go? They run at the game. I know that. Well, we have a bunch of scrubs on the field. It was imposters. Danny. I like the call. Let's finish up with the posters. Chris Brown back on line one finishes up here in the sound off buddy, which you got. G bag nation. I'm just pretty lamp and beat only receiver. We have only need some receivers to start stepping up, because what I've seen yesterday was just right out of atrocious. Right about that, Chris. Yeah, atrocious. What you say at CD lamb, and he's the only playmaker you have, and then you don't have anybody that's pulling the strings from a schematic standpoint that's helping any one of these guys be a little bit better than themselves. Yeah. I mean, somebody has to step up and until the Jones is the hard truth about the way they construct football teams, I'm hoping, you know, a new coach with a more of a visionary mindset could, you know, they call it managing upward where I have the ideas that my boss isn't even thinking about. I'm going to take these ideas to him and change the course of our entire organization. That's a tough needle threat. Is it Chris Brown? He said the wide receivers. No good. He says forgot to put the defense on the plane ash, take a chill pill, Colby running game. Oof. Tim. Why do we do this every year? Have a quarterback with a two cent army said, be way agrees with Jerry on firing himself and hire a coach who can coach the team up. Big truck driver. Jerry needs to grow a pair and fire himself. Jeremy. The fact everybody's blaming that ticked him off and rodeo Ron Aubrey should line up all the defenders and kick him right in the go and add. That's my vote. Chief. Rock with old big truck driver, which was good. I just want to say shout out to all the tollos they called in. You guys did a great job this time. I was highly entertained through all the calls when I encouraged that big truck driver. It's two to one wall Chuck. I think it was one of the best call wins we've had when it comes to the six o'clock sound off really enjoyed it. But yeah, big truck driver for sure brought the energy. Yeah, he did. I like when people call him from the road like that. So let's go. He hung the horn, bro. Yeah. He had his own sound board. There he goes. Did kids still do that for entertainment in their back seats? I don't think so. Do this. No, they don't do it. We did slug bugs. Yeah, no. They held me to that. We did the 18 wheelers. All kinds of fun games you play over the years. We probably can't even play slug bug anymore. Score be like one to zero for the five hour drive. That's if you got off the highway. Don't see him. Okay. Where are we going next? We'll check. Two little two guys. One booth. Shall we? Nine hour Cowboys game day here in the fan. All right. Welcome back nation. It is time now for two guys one booth with a wool chuck and chia follow going through the broadcast day and the most entertaining and interesting portions of it segment is brought to you by cars for kids donate today cars for kids dot org. Now here's wool chuck and chia followed with your two guys. One booth. Yes, sir. Thank you very much. There is no better way to relive a cowboy game day than right here in the G bag nation, Brad cham, babe Loffenberg, maybe Christie scales, perhaps the pre and post and I heard there was quite the call on the post game show as well yesterday and we will relive it all right now. Oh, we begin with the pre game show and Brian brought us you might have just had the crystal ball work in, but Brad sham was having none of it. Actually thought you were just being an old crusty Brad. I felt like this game kind of had a little Arizona vibe to it that I was like from last year. Yeah, then I'm like, could you that's because your glasses that's that's why they called you crusty and I just that's right, Brad. I should have had your back. That's right. My teammate over there. That's right. Brad. Tell him. Tara's ass up, Brad. I didn't help you though when he went after you and you're all leads to the sushi. Don't you worry, Brian. We can judge your performance here in a moment. Yeah. Well, and it's, it's, uh, well, I guess, yeah, let's here's, here's Brad on, on waking up before game. It was an earlier game this week. So how does that is? This was a three 30 game. I would certainly want to be out the door by 11. So as you will someday find out, Eric, yeah, there comes a time when your body tells you what time to get up. Yeah. Yeah. And you have had to, you have had to stay up later than I am now physically able of staying up to sleep in, sleep in. So eight o'clock for me now, sadly, is sleeping in. Yeah. Not by my choice. Just how it is. You'll find out. I will. The great Mel Brooks in character as the 2000 year old man. Google that. All right. I'm on it. Said, uh, very wise words, we mock the things we are to be. Yes. Wow. I love it. Look at this. Really getting, uh, getting profound here on a Cowboys game day with the boys. You brought it up. I just shouldn't. I did. I did. And you dunked it, man. That was beautiful. Is there ever more sarcastic? Wow. I love it. Wow. I love it. That was on me for asking him his game day routine and changes for a noon kick, you know, but I didn't expect him to go down the 2000 year old well and come back with what he came back with. So that one's on me. And so it's this next one. Yes, sir. Absolutely. Uh, we had Mike Haas, uh, voice of the saints on earlier. Yeah, I know. Sitting right next to him part of the day, he was, uh, he was very impressed with the, with the sushi halftime spread there. Just a tip of the cap. Yeah. Well, you know what? Can I just say this? Yeah. Absolutely. You guys just need to go on the QT with the sushi halftime spread. That's a, that's our thing and the more you, the more you advertise that over the intercontinental interbalistic airwaves, then, you know, then the more people are going to be, wait a minute. Just just listen to the old man. Just shut up and come in and enjoy the sushi. Can you do that? Yes. I, I, I do Brad. This is the, I really do. Brad, I, I feel, I apologize for my colleagues, my rights brought us hated every time I bring it up because he knows that's one less sushi roll that he's going to have an opportunity for somebody. With Brad says have some Brian. I have some. Yeah. Yeah. But, but can I, would I be safe in guessing Eric? Yeah. That you talk about this publicly a lot more than Brian does. Oh, 1000% Brad. Absolutely. I'm fascinated by it. Is there anything to be gleaned? You can be fascinated all you want bug out of your head, you know, they can roll back that you can be all googling about it, but you don't have to talk about it out loud. Yeah. There's a nice little thing, there's a nice little thing that they do. There are many ways, many ways that, that people don't know about nor do they have to, that the cowboys do things to make some parts of the machine run a little more well-oiled. And that's just not something that has to be reported on. They are, they are first class and everything they do. it up. Do you hear anything I'm saying? No, no, I know. I think you put you in time out later on and I know you made a point of going back to get the sushi at halftime, which you don't always do. No, I made a point this time. Just I mean, I'd been craving it. I didn't get to after the two big plates of prime rib. Yeah. Well, yes. Listen, you know how it goes man on a game day. We come 90 minutes and see a Brian, you know, I got no sushi in the preseason. Try to make it a point. I'm getting some some sushi. I do think Blake eats more food during a game than you. I'm disrespected by that. Hey, Eric ate two pounds of ground beef today. Yeah, two pounds of just ground beef. I wish I had to one wasn't enough. It was just one. Yeah, it was just one looks like saying. Now I'm catching a hankering for some cow. Alright, let's see. What's next here? Two guys, one booth. We'll get to Brad ripping a little bit of wall chuck a little bit later on there as we get to the post. I love it. I can't get enough of it. It's like three guys running from a zombie horde and you're each taking turns like trying to trip the other one. Get him. Get him out of here. We're kind of poking the bear a little bit every time we get Brad. And it's somewhat intentional. I did ask him a question. You know, this is probably the first time he's ever called the game with a guy named Kool-Aid, right? Yes. That was Jakwiske. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. It was alright. We could do the fourth one first, the cut for Brad. Did you ever imagine you'd be calling games where one of the players was named Kool-Aid? Oh, I listen, we are so past me not having imagined calling a game where guys were called something or other. No, but why not? What the hell? And then it happened where he's got to actually call Kool-Aid by his name in the game. That was Jakwiske. Jakwistri Mckinsky. I hope he never makes another title. I know. I know. His grandmother named him Kool-Aid because he said he had a smile like the Kool-Aid man in the commercials. Jakwiske Mckinsky. Mckinsky. That was Jakwiske. Jakwistri Mckinsky. Mckinsky. Yeah, the street of the first day. I mean, there's a lot going on there. There was a ton going on there. That's fantastic. All right. Here's more from Brad and Babe. At the 35, it's Juan and Turpin in the backfield again. And again, it's Turpin in motion out to the left. And he fakes the screen this time. Good block from the left tackle. Geiten deep ball down the left side. Lamb's getting held. Hug, mugged and undressed. This is going to be interesting because it's an uncatchable ball. There's a flag down. Yeah. And it ended up being uncatchable, but hugged, mugged and undressed. Pretty good description there of what was going on. Now, Babe did play in the National Football League for a little bit. And well, he's got a lifelong memory from it. And well, it happens to be on his body. Yeah. I know. I have to say Saints and ribs. You don't think immediately of Ricky Jackson? My ribs still sticks out every time I see Ricky Jackson. I always say, Hey, feel this. That's you. He's I'm sorry, babe. He's not though. No, he's second and 10. All right. Let's go ahead and get to them doing some level of gambling on the broadcast. Making the playoffs extraordinary is doing it 36 times. So when you toast America's most extraordinary team, choose the world's most extraordinary tequila tequila, heradura extraordinary awaits. 930 remaining here in the second quarter. Saints have had the ball three times. They've scored touchdowns all three times. They lead it now 21 to six. I have a prediction, please. If the Saints scored touchdown every time they have the ball, they're going to win the game. I bet you I can bet on that somehow. I don't bet by the way. It's illegal. Yeah. Well, it's not illegal for 99% of the world. No, but for us, for us it is. I have no desire to the last time the Cowboys gave up 21 points. No desire to either, but there's not any more. And then we know about baby is love for the halftime cookies. That's his thing. He loves his cookies and the chicken tendies and the tendies and they are impressive. So he's got a sushi thing and he hits the cookies. He's well, it's a mess with the cookies. Usually like Brad will have the cookies and the rest and the rest of the sushi and be able to do the chicken tendies and the cookies. He loves his cookies and he happened to have some cookies while doing a read pros knows pros. Lowe's knows pros. Excuse me. He's got tools. You want to finish the cookie and I had a cookie. I apologize. From the top. Lowe's knows pros need the right tool for every job. That's why we sell the largest in store selection of kind tools anywhere because fantastic. I love that. Dude, those are tongue twisters, man. They're not doing, they're not giving them any like, they're not doing them any favors with some of those reads. The home gating zero. I think zero is involved with this. Our guy zero. He's trying to zero. I think he's messing with him. Yeah, but he doesn't write it. No commercial writers, well, they you can tell that they don't broadcast to say that. Yeah. Oh, no, it's tough. You guys were laughing at me for like, like guacamole reads and stuff like that. Oh, yeah. You read it and you're like one. This doesn't sound right. It's not the you're not confident while you're doing it. Oh, I know that feeling. Yeah. All right. Brad wants us. This is now towards the end of the game. Everything's out of hand and Brad wants to make sure that we do not question this particular part of the game. This has been a spanking. Don't question that at all. This has been all New Orleans all day. Yeah, spanking. It's pretty well put there Brad. Absolutely. I couldn't agree more, but he does leave us here. And this is why you love guys like Brad and babe after basically four quarters of embarrassment and disgust and borderline being disrespectful to the sport itself. They still find a way to come over the top with a glass half full note. Well, the good news for the Cowboys is they get a little breather next week with Baltimore. Oh, yeah. Well, yeah, you don't even have to play your starters before, do you naturally the silver lining, man, as we look ahead to next week now before we can look ahead to next week, we have to look back at the disastrous four quarters. And that's when we get to the post game show, the Miller Lite Club, which I'm sure was just filled with rabid saints fans. Just just there's a lot of saints fans in the middle like club. Yes, you're dominating. You got a bunch of great saints fans. Absolutely. Here's part one of Brad not liking wall Chuck's question. But today in every aspect, they were better. Yeah, they were and they deserve credit. But I wonder, Brad, to me, there's a bit of a theme in some of these losses now in the Cowboys fall down. They've had one loss, Zach. They've had one loss. They've had one last year's team. This is not last year's team. But the loss felt a lot like all the losses last year that they had. There's a lot of the same players and there's the same coach. Well, it's a whole different defense. It's a whole different defense. It's a different defensive coach. There are several different defensive players. So they've lost one game. This is not last year. They may not win another game. They may stink. But don't make this be about last year because it's not last year. This is this year with all different kinds of problems and wrinkles and pluses and minuses. And you've got to figure it out for this year. And it takes more than two weeks. Okay. Well, Chuck. Yeah, man. Yeah, just that it's a continuation. I don't know. I mean, you still got Michael Parsons, Demarcus Lawrence, Trayvon Diggs, Malik Hooker, Donovan Wilson, DeMone Clark. Should I continue going down the list of the same players that are there? Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, but they got rid of that head coach. But hey, they got Marsha Nealon and Eric Hendricks and they do have Mike Zimmer. True. Caitlin Carson. Caitlin Carson. Yeah. Yeah. You know, some guy, I don't know, you know, I just, I feel like everybody's frustrated in their own way. There are a lot of frustrations going on. Yeah. Yeah. And they're all warranted. Here's more from Brad not liking wall checks question. I believe maybe brought us trying to come to it. Here's Brian, you know, circling back, like being a good teammate and, you know, I was being respectful and not going too overboard. Yeah, but I think where maybe the Zack and I'm not trying to put words in your mouth that there is a theme when they play against teams that have a physical nature to them that maybe this is a problem. Yeah, you can't stop the run and you get bullied. Well, yeah, the second touchdown was a 70 yard pass. Sure. The first, the first possession that was an 80 yard drive and it was a great mix. It was not all run. They didn't run all the time. They really mixed it up. It was well conceived and well called. If you want to call Camars 57 yard screen pass or run, that's fine. But that's getting a great player in space and getting it blocked. So I didn't have the feeling that I had with Green Bay last year until the score started to get a little prohibitive. Well, how dare you suggest they ran every single play wool chuck. Yeah, easy money for Brad. I don't know. I saw a lot of smart people, including Brian that were putting out cuts of tape today. Looks like he got pretty bullied to me. So I stand by everything I said, I'd respect I could have clapped back harder on the broadcast. I didn't know you did the right thing. But yeah, you pulled punches. You know, sometimes you just got to let it go. Brian, did you feel like it's more about the physicality than the motion? The motion the motion of the what that what the Saints did to you. Yeah, the Cowboys are struggling with. I think that I think that that game to me was about their inability to handle the the physicality. Yeah, and watching the tape, you could see them coming off the football and then they were winning the line. They were clearly winning the line and they were winning. You know, they went in the front seven really they didn't have a great answer for that. And a lot of that has to do with your ability to get off blocks and play physical and be good at the point of attack. And I don't think Dallas was very good at that at all. I think they were good at the point of attack against Cleveland. I don't think they were good at the point of attack against those very reminiscent of a lot of their big elves last year. They get the motion. The motion is a problem. The motion is a problem. Yeah. That kind of they were setting up blockers. But man, when those blockers got in place, you didn't have a very good answer for that. I would argue that the scheme allows for me. No, no, it's not like that offensive line is just with with a bunch of bullies that it's just like they're just better than the guy in front of them. They can just absolutely eat their lunch. I mean, they're being set up for great success. The Niners do this with average offensive lineman outside of Trent Williams, but they get themselves. They set themselves up for great success. And like you said, Micah didn't even realize until a second after the ball snapped at times that he's being doubled because they're bringing somebody afterwards like they're being helped by their coach a ton here. This is a basically the same offensive line they had last year when they were just a very average football team. So I think if you if you had the same coaches as last year for the Saints yesterday, that you're not you're not scoring half as many points, even with the same players. Okay, here's the final call in the post game or not the final call in the post game, but one of the calls in the post game and it'll it'll end us here for two guys, one booth. All right, let's go to Bayless in Houston Bayless. What's going on? Hey, y'all just want to say thank you for taking my call. Also, I have to say this Bobby belt is an idiot. He ruined the morning show and that's all I got to say. Thank you. I appreciate it. All right, let's go to Jim and round rock Jim. What's going on? Oh crap. I nearly swallowed my gum on that one. Oh, it's good. I feel bad for Bob. There it is. Two guys one booth and audio celebration in Cowboys game day here on one oh five three the fan big game against the Ravens Cowboys are favored because Baltimore is 0 and 2 the games at AT and T will come back and chat with CA and Fred before the Cowboys hours coming up at seven o'clock here on one oh five three the fan. Welcome back. G back nation Cooper. Bebe coming up in the cowboy's hour here from seven to eight and then from eight to 11 you will have the fan after dark tonight's configuration features of Fred Davis and Chris Arnold, the three time Hall of Famer. Another bet payoff is on the line tonight. Gentlemen as a Monday night football is going to pit the Eagles against the Falcons. It's a bird off. Wow. Do you think Atlanta has a chance here? Listen, after what we saw take place yesterday throughout the course of our football Sunday, I mean, everything's on the table. Nothing can surprise us tonight. Yeah, they absolutely have a chance. I certainly would think the Eagles at home Kirk cousins looking like a shell himself. And we know generally on a in a prime time situation, he's not a guy that you want to count on. There was apparently a quote from Troy eight men here on the broadcast leading into the game. He says he talked to Kirk and he said he's not a hundred percent, but he feels a hundred percent in the pocket. Okay. So that's the game. Not exactly sure what that means, but it sounds like Michael Penn. It's time to me. They had a that a game last week against the stewards. They didn't run a play action pass. I saw. Yeah, he had the least amount of his least amount of movement ever as it pertains to his drop back in his whole career. Everything was just pistol shotgun quick. He wants they don't trust him to be under center. He can't run the distance that it takes to go from under center to like play action. There's no boots, no waggles. I know those are your favorite. Sorry, bro. My favorite place. He just he looks like he's a guy playing on one leg right there. It's it's very, very not cool. If Atlanta can stop the run though, they'll have a chance. I mean, that Barkley was the straw that served the drink for the Eagles and the green Bay certainly moved the football on him last week. So I don't know how good that defense is right now. He has a heck of a pickup for them. Once again, did Minnesota do something in particular to get the best of San Francisco? What's going on there? Brock Purdy said to Brian Flores after the game, like damn good scheme. So maybe we need to look at what Brian Flores was doing. But now they got Debo hurt. Debo is going to miss a few weeks. You don't have Christian McCaffrey. We'll see what goes on from San Francisco. From San Francisco back up last year. Oh, yeah. So that kind of a revenge game there for him. Yeah, might have been scout team guy against them. And the explosive plays are just not there the same. Like Jordan Mason has done an admirable job through two games filling in for McCaffrey. But McCaffrey is a guy that gets you explosive runs in a way that makes it a hundred though, didn't he? Yes, he did. I mean, I'm just saying he had exactly like he's done a solid job. But the difference between McCaffrey and solid job Mason is quite a bit in the explosive plays. We know that's something that matters really more than anything. And McCaffrey will be back for Dallas then, right? Who knows? It's hard to say. We don't know right now. They think they got him for six weeks, right? I think I saw six weeks is what they're expecting. Oh, really? Yeah, put him on IR, right? Yeah. So it'll be at least four, but it could be longer tomorrow, big day in Frisco. The city council is going to vote on a public private renovation project in partnership with FC Dallas to renovate Toyota Stagem. Project will enhance the guest experience at MLS's third oldest soccer specific venue. So not a bad building up there, but it is the hall of fame up there. It's really nice. We've broadcast from there before. Yeah, I would rather them keep the money and try and get players involved. Thank you. You know, if Frisco really wants to help, maybe give the team the money and let them keep their better players. You think you can get on the guys like West of McKinney and I don't know. I'm not going to lie to you. I haven't, I know we're near the bottom of the table. We're not doing. No, it's bad. And we're not doing well. Yeah. Thankfully, there's just a half dozen games or so left. You know, we didn't get to mention something from yesterday's football, but the Packers vomiting situation. That's pretty deep on the ball. They threw it right Josh Myers, the center, the center puked on the ball right before the snap and then Malik didn't throw the ball and throw it down. He ran for even though it was a pass play and then the floor is like, why didn't you throw it? And he said that when he asked Malik why he didn't throw that ball and throw it down, he told me that Josh threw up on the ball. So it was puke ball and he just wasn't comfortable. He had never practiced. Yeah, he just puked. Yeah. I mean, it's on the football. He's done the ball and I'm trying to figure out like what's more impressive. Malik Willis still having the wherewithal to figure out to get the first down or that center puking on the ball, but then still protecting and doing his job. I think the center. Well, I don't know that moment right after you puke. Yeah. Yeah. It's true. It's almost like I had the demons out. It's like a don't think I'll snap and block another human being. How about if you like block the dude he said on and then you vomit on him and then you vomit on him. Let's go after it. Like it's like Kabuki dust, you know, oh, you blow. Kabuki does that is, but you know, Kabuki, the wrestler. Oh, he should blow green dust on people and they get all they get all confused. Kabuki. And you just blow, you just blow chunks on the dude and he just stop. I would, wouldn't you? That's an all pro move right there. Yeah, somebody threw up on you just stop. If I get a chance to Kabuki dust you. Okay, you know, I'm going to take advantage of that. All righty. Thanks so much to Lucius Alexander and the Pimp cup over there at Master Control and Carter Freeman coordinate in your video. Thanks to Wolchuck and she'll follow. Until it was the most poignant moment from today's Cowboys coverage show for you. I think it was me asking for me, John Michota, what are the Cowboys have to do? And he said, get Aaron Donald out of retirement. You'd have a shot. Anything for you. The pipe dream. Oh my gosh. Yeah, I would say get, could you, could you stolen Kubiak off the sideline from New Orleans just your day and medium yours just a coach swap a mid season coaching change? You get shoddy. We get Kubiak right on. That would have been fun. Hey, a trades for coaches have happened, Jerry.
