Well, if you call a running a ship, hey Alec, can you, uh... Yeah. Well, Carter Freeman had a college football game to go to this week, so he's got like four days off, right? He had a travel there. Yeah, sure. Well, he did the old college football double the double hitter because he did last night's Central Florida game, and then he's turning around on Saturday and he's doing Miami and Florida. Wow. So, he's hitting a double college football weekend to start things off. Living it up. That's pretty incredible, man. Yeah. Carter Freeman loves his college football, and he loves getting out there and seeing the different stadiums, the different games. Okay, guys, so obviously we have a great football Friday. We have a What You Drinkin' and What You Thinkin' Friday. We're here at the Globe where people are getting excited about DeGrom and Rocker. I just feel like we have a once in a decade story now with the possibility of Dak Prescott leaving, and it's, it's staying with me, you know? Now that people are asking me, hey, you know, what's, how's the show going? What's coming up? Well, you know, this is an absolute mega story here, you know? And I wonder if Jerry is doing that intentionally to keep the story alive all season long and allow the Cowboys to be relevant, or, you know, if Dak's going, but either way, it is, it's a real juicy conversation after, you know, what's been said over the last 48 hours. We have a lot of branches on that topic tree to discuss with you right now at 877-881-105-3. What do you want to have happen? Leave your name and city your texting from. I just kind of want to gauge it with you guys out here on, on the text. It feels like more than half of people will be like, yes, it might actually be over. But you know, check in and tell us why, Brian. I had a, after our show yesterday and our spirited discussions that we'd like to have about Dak, I had a guy reach out to me in the organization that was listening to our show. And the question, the first question he asked me, he says, he goes, listen, he goes, I don't get to listen every day. But how is it when it comes to the fans, when it comes to Dak? And I explained to him, it's really, it's very simple to say 50/50, but there is a, there's a pocket of Cowboy fans that would be just fine if Dak Prescott were to leave. And there's a pocket of Cowboy fans, they're like, if you want to go through the no quarterback wilderness thing again, that we went through in the early 2000s, by all means, you know, that's what you're about to get. So I was trying to explain to him how it really, I've never, I, I, it's, it's, it's amazing to me that how many people are on that. And you kind of feel like with a quarterback, you're not, you're going to say, well, let's be careful here. But there is a lot of folks out there, they're like, if you give him $60 million a year, $65 million a year, it'll be one of the biggest mistakes that you've made in this organization's history. And then there's the other side, like I said, they're just like, yeah, go try and find another quarterback because it ain't going to work out for you as well. You got lucky finding him and you got lucky finding Tony Romo. Matter of fact, I was part of the Tony Romo one. We were going to cut Romo and keep Quincy Carter, Quincy Carter doesn't fail the drug test. Oh, Tony Romo was going to be out the door. So that just shows you how fragile this quarterback room could be. But we're in an era now and I said it yesterday where people are more willing to move on from the quarterbacks. Yeah. Dallas might be one of those teams eight, one, six, pay the man, signing six, eight, two, I'd gladly take my chances in purgatory because there's at least a chance that you could find something better four, six, nine, it's not that I don't like Dak. I just someone want someone new with better chances and a better contract. Uh, nine, seven, two, I was ready to see Dak go, but I'm slowly realizing just how rare good quarterbacks are in the league. Trey Lance made me appreciate Dak more, um, the two one for wants the best for Dak because he's been a fan since Mississippi State. I want to see him excel somewhere else and the fans see how bad it could be without him. Six, eight, two, we saw the best of Romo and I believe we've seen the best of Dak and it's just not good enough. And I, I feel like their cap is in such a tough place with all the, you know, cap implications of Zeke steel and Zach Martin and Tyrant Smith and you throw a Dak on there and they're gallop. They're pushing money back on gallop. There's just like so much of that out there that, you know, and then they, they butchered the 20, 23 draft, you know, so I'm just thinking like right now it's the championship window is effectively closed. So you could look at as good as it could get last year when you added Gilmore and cooks and it still wasn't enough. You had Tyrant Smith still wasn't enough. You know, what would make you think now that, you know, you have a pretty tough salary cap situation and the guys are getting older that this is doable. So if you decide to, to basically blow it up starting with Dak, I would be surprised. But I think I would be excited about that because I don't, I, I think the Cowboys have proven their way of team building plus Dak's just not going to work out. Mike Tana bomb saying he believes it's more likely should do or Sanders is the quarterback for the Cowboys. The Dak press. Next year. You want to go that far? I can't go that far, man. I do love him. Mike Tana bombs doing he woke up this morning. He was like, I got it. Boys, don't worry. Just pass me the damn ball and watch me work this morning. Yeah, it was brilliant by him. And I believe Jordan Lewis has already commented on this because it's kind of, he's calling him in M F's. Yeah, it's going a little bit viral on Twitter. So Jordan Lewis has quote tweeted it and said, I can't emphasize enough how much I can't stand you M F is. So yeah, this is, I mean, it's certainly on the table and it's a fun, it's a fun thing to talk about because on the list of options, it is somewhere on there. How likely is it? I think it's pretty likely that Dak leaves. Okay. But turning around and being able to draft should do her. I mean, especially if the Cowboys are going to be nine to 11 win team this year, you're going to have to package up to move up to get a guy like that Sanders is very likely to be a top 10 pick, especially at a down year and quarterback. So heck, he could be the number one overall pick. So you'd have to, there would have to be a lot that goes on to land him. But it's certainly, it's certainly out there as a possibility. Yeah. You better get on the phone with Elliot Wolf right now in New England or the, or the giants, you know, who also needs a quarterback as well. Those probably are the, the two teams you're looking at right now that could be the ones that are, we'll hold the, you know, the top two picks. If I just, if you had to say what teams you really don't feel like are going to be very good this year, I would say New England and the giants would probably be the top two on my list and they'll probably end up with the, with that pick. So it'll be a matter of, you know, they always talk about trading the first overall pick. You know, people have done it before. Yeah. Well, especially a team like the Patriots who have a quarterback and Drake may that they're not probably just going to punt on after one year unless he shows he's for sure not the guy like Josh. Everybody, everybody for everybody, if New England with their quarterback situation, if it turns into that pick right now, I could predict is going to be for sale for the highest bidder. And so yeah, if you're willing to jump in there and you feel good about your situation with the rest of your team and you can, you know, you can give up on some of your picks that you're, you know, that's, that's a, that's always a possibility. Okay. So what would you rather do in that scenario? Would you rather mortgage a bunch of future picks and assets to go get a guy at number one overall in this upcoming off season? So you go immediately from deck to a, a number one overall pick in this scenario or a top 10 pick that you've now traded up for. So you've just punted on multiple three, four first round picks in the future, but you go get your guy today or are you willing to eat a season of a Trey Lance or a, a, a, a guy that doesn't really get you much in the way of victories. But now you don't have to trade up because you've sucked so bad, you're picking in the top five or whatever and you can just draft your quarterback, but you had to eat that season of below average quarterback play to you. Yeah. I think trading up is crazy. You know, you, you trade up and it's not the guy. Now you end up with a top five pick that another team holds and maybe it's a, a second as well. I like the idea of finding another really quality player, whether that's a Zach Martin replacement or a tank Lawrence replacement or a wide receiver to that can be a stud, you know, and then take the quarterback in 2026 after a year with Trey Lance or Cooper Rush. That'd be my approach to it. Um, I think you're looking at a two year real rebuild realistically to get this cap in order and to put the things in place and I don't want to start as well. My quarterback clock until I got the cap cleared out and we're ready to be competitive with a good offensive line, a running back that we've taken in the third or fourth round. Everything set. We draft the quarterback with a beautiful pristine looking salary cap situation, a young roster with no anchors to it. And now we got four, maybe five years if you structure the contract right to really go for it properly. That's so important too, because you, I mean, the Cowboys used the Romo contract for why they couldn't really go all in around Dak early on when he was being paid pennies. Yeah. Well, we're still on the hook for how much on Romo. Yeah. So, I mean, you're going to be on the hook next season for like 40 something million or whatever. Yeah. For Dak, even though he won't be there. That's what the numbers say. Yeah. In this scenario. So, it's like, yeah, I'm with you having that clean salary cap. So, then there is no excuses not to pour all the money around your, your rookie or, you know, rookie contract quarterback. I think that's huge. It's likely have a new head coach then too, if that's the case. Yeah. Yeah. If you're, if you're looking at Dak being gone and, you know, I don't know, maybe, you know, maybe it's one of those things that, is there a scenario where you think that Dak comes back if they have success? Yeah. I do. Yeah. But did he, they, they, they somehow find a way it's going to be well, well beyond what the numbers we're looking at right now. Yeah. You know, my heart of heart tells me what we're seeing right now is Jerry is ticked that Dak and his agent negotiate so hard. They don't play nice like Romo and his agent did. And so he's playing back at him and Dak's like, well, you want to be tough with me. I'm going to be tough with you. Sure. But I, I genuinely believe they want to make the playoffs and Dak wants to be here. But you know, what happens if New Orleans calling, you know, but you have a chance to go home. You know, so I think things are up in the air. And I do think Jerry wants to see Dak win. But I also think Jerry is just so set as a billionaire that's kind of detached from the highs and lows of like a pro sports fan. He even said at the introductory press conference, he doesn't like share the mindset of the fan. He might also be look at it like, look, you know, they want, they don't want to do a deal. So they're going to go to free agency. Maybe they find big money in free agency and we'll have to go get a new quarterback. And that is fine because I'm a billionaire owner of the Dallas Cowboys. Maybe the next guy is better and we're in salary cap purgatory. So that could work out. You know, there's benefits to both sides of it. And I think this is, you know, just a small symptom of, you know, the bigger overall problem with Jerry Jones is that he's not driven to win a championship at all costs. Life is good. He's going to enjoy life. If this doesn't work out, that's fine. We'll get another quarterback and it's just, it's too much of a laissez-vaire approach. Kick the can down the road, accept the status quo again and again. And I, you know, I think as a result of it, Dak could absolutely leave. But I also think that, you know, Jerry loves the stability that Dak gives him. Okay. Man, it's great to be at the ballpark. You know, and right now the exciting thing, Kumar Rocker and, and Jacob de Grom and, and then, you know, Nathan Evaldi, who was amazing yesterday, but one of the big stories developing and look forward to talking with Sands about this coming up at 615. Guy carried you to the World Series. When all six of his starts, the Rangers are a 500 team over the last two years, except when Nathan Evaldi's on the hill. When they're 29 and 20 in the regular season, one game over 500, Evaldi on the hill, nine games over 500. But reading this story from Evan Granite comes back to that competitive balance tax and they don't want to be like repeat payers of it. Teams do teams, you know, are fine with it, but not Ray Davis. No. So they got a skimp somewhere, which makes me feel maybe they skimp on Evaldi and maybe Evaldi looks at that and says, well, you're skimping elsewhere on the roster. I only have so many years left. I want to go contend somewhere. Yeah. I mean, that's what Jared has spelled out to us. Sure. He's super plugged in there. Like he knows Evaldi is the type of guy that wants to win. And that's not always the case for everybody. There's other factors that come into where do you want to be? Where's your family? Obviously the money of all these one of those guys that wants to win. And it just so happens that he's the type of guy that also in those big type must win moments is the best version of himself. So he wants to be in that type of environment. And if he doesn't feel like this is still that type of environment, he will, I think he will easily look elsewhere, even if he had to leave a touch of money on the table or whatever, to make sure he's in a place where he can win. When Chris Young said what you do after that first championship defines the legacy of are you going to have a dynasty or are you just going to be a team that popped up on a blip in the radar in history and won a championship? And you know, I will always appreciate the commitment that Ray made financially to get Seager and Simeon to Grom and Bochi and Evaldi the first time around. But if he lets Evaldi go, it's over. Yeah, I think that's the real, that's the truth serum type of move right there. If they're not bringing back Evaldi, then that means that he is not getting the vibe. Nathan Evaldi is not even getting the vibe that these guys want to do any winning. So I think that's going to be a huge move in the offseason to look at to see, okay, what direction is this thing going right now? Do you guys feel like that this team is closer to being not good or getting back to being what it was last year and maybe not a World Series team, but a team that's say 25 games above 500 and then the playoffs? Where do you think this with this current team is? Is it going to be a team that the next couple of years it's going to be a down team or is it going to be a team that this past year was about poor hitting, it was about injuries, it was about those things. How do you feel? I'm going to say 500 because that's really what they've been outside of the World Series run, you know, and it's crazy. Rocker could save you, the combination of bang, bang, and Evan Carter next year could save you, but now you have the Carter injury to be concerned with. I think it's still been an average team over the last two seasons that went on the greatest World Series run that, you know, maybe baseball has seen compared to who they are, definitely the greatest postseason run in DFW sports history compared to expectations. So you've got some saying, though, maybe if you do let- You don't have a bullpen next year? If you let Nathan go, then it's about, yeah, I'm kind of putting my eggs in my basket, I guess, with the Grom, but, you know, how is this health going to be, and then rocker. So I'm going to try and maybe Jack Leiter, maybe, you know, maybe there's some other pieces there that allows you to let Nathan Evaldi go, you know, but I think there's probably a few teams if he wants to be that guy. Now, he's already been in Boston, right? He's already, you know, he's been at teams like, what are the teams that he could go to? He'd go to the Dodgers, go to the Braves, go to the Orioles. I was going to say the Orioles would make plenty of sense. See, that's what I'm saying. No, if there are more teams that he could just go to, then, you know, you're not going to win there. I mean, he wants to be here. He's cheap. He's going to be like 20, 22 million per year. If we can't do that for a World Series hero, race, all the team, you know, that's what you should do. Yeah, if he, but if it's his choice and he wants to leave, you know, then, yeah, I'm sure there's somebody out there that would like to have him. I just wonder where you guys thought this team was. Is this a one off of being bad? It sounds like you guys think it's not a one off that they got lucky to win a World Series. When on a great run, they were built to win it with clutch gene players and a great manager. And they did not get their, their butts handed to them for being so poor against lefties because the Astros didn't have any left to relievers. You know, how many times a role this Chapman was in trouble? Oh, no. I trust me. I watched that whole season where every time he went to the Hill, I'm like, this season is going to be strike three or it's going to the backstop or it might end up out here in section one thirty three and incredible run by, by the baseball team. But you're not going to be able to stay there unless you're willing to go over the competitive attacks threshold. And the last time we heard Ray talk about it, he was pretty averse to it. So it's going to come down to like developing younger guys to come up and fill these holes. We're live at the globe where it's Corey Seager, Silver Slugger, Bobblehead, night first 15,000 fans are going to get these. It's a, it's a big margarita, Villnite as well. So that'll be a party. Man, what a tragedy in the NHL Columbus Blue Jacket star Johnny Goudreau and his brother Matthew dying after they were struck by a car in a cycling accident. According to a press release from the New Jersey State Police, according to police reports, the driver of an SUV hit the two brothers while attempting to pass another vehicle on the right that had been that had moved over in order to make room for the Goudreau's. The drivers expected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident and has been charged with two counts of death by auto, 819 at night, you know, and they were in town to be groomsmen in their sister's wedding. I know, dude. I just saw that. I saw that. I heard that this morning with Sean and RJ, and man, it's as sad a story as you could hear. Just the unexpected catastrophic loss of life is indescribable pain there. Yeah. I mean, this is the wedding weekend for the sister. Yeah. I know. You're just beside yourself, too. But it's unfortunate, really, with these accidents with bicyclers and Greg Knapp, who is the coach? I think it's cyclists. Cyclists, what I say is just for the record. Bicyclers. Bicyclers. Cyclists. I knew what you were putting down there, Brian. Yeah. I mean, Greg Knapp, who was a coach, long time NFL coach out biking, he gets killed, you know, and this is in the off season and stuff like that. I mean, it's, it's, it's such a, it's, you know, John Bradley. Yeah. I mean, it's amazing how you just, you know, can people maybe not paying attention all the time, you know, share the road with these folks and maybe it, it makes you, you know, it's, it's kind of like it's like, I know, get to where you need to be. You get over there, you know, but, and like I say, it's the whole thing. They have rights, too. You know. I do like a good bike ride, but I, I prefer it on paths. I don't often share bike space with vehicles, you know, and if there's any possibility, I can get like on a sidewalk or even side streets on there, you know, I, you know, obviously worked in Portland and that's like a biking city capital, right? Like so many people biking and it's, you know, it's a controversial topic there at times because there's so many bikes on the road and so many bike lanes that it irritates drivers to no end to have to, you know, constantly be looking for them because they know that the danger is there. I just, I couldn't imagine having stories out there like this and continuing to do that. You must really love it. I'll tell you the one that gets me and it reminded me when I was in California, when you're on the 405 or the five or the 101 and you're in traffic and those motorcycles come between the cars. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Those guys are. And you're thinking about like, you know, you're just thinking about naturally just moving over. You know, I'm going to move over to get in, and those bikes, yeah, come right between those cars. I mean, there's not, but a foot, maybe two foot on each side. And here you are thinking about moving over and then all of a sudden this bike comes blowing by you right there and you're like going, yeah, okay, I'm glad I didn't move over. I mean, you talked about having your head on a swivel, you know, with a shearing, shearing roadway with, you know, bicycles or motorcycles, you know, it's kind of crazy. Well, condolences to the Gudro family. That's just devastating and one that is going to be very difficult to recover from. But we're having a sports party here with you tonight. Jared Sandler is in the Camarica backyard. He's about to swing by and drop all kinds of Rangers knowledge on us. Awesome stuff tonight. The strikeout Kings, a DFW based quartet is doing the National Anthem shrimp doc is here for the Arlington eat section. And Margarita Villnite sold out event as the Rangers are celebrating the island life that is Margarita Villn. I could see you at a Margarita Vill concert chief. It's a top five. If you stack up all the bills in the world, Margarita Villn makes an appearance in the top five every time indeed indeed. It's time now to go back into that Pimp Cup. We're delicious. G back. It's hurt. I appreciate you putting a little space between that bad news and me. You know, I was coming in, you know, I looked up at the clock I was like, oh son of a bitch. He's done it again. He's done it. All right. Let's see. Where's this still day two for King James being our G bag of the day King James LeBron James. Talk about it. Yeah. Two, three. Go. Yeah. He says his son Bronnie can't call him dad while at work. This happened on the shop live like a little live clip of it is King James. What's your working relationship? Is he going to call you dad at practice in the locker room? No, we already laid that. No, we already laid. No. He can't. We already laid that down. Cannot call me dad in the workplace. All right. Once we once we leave out of the private facility and the gates closed, I could be dad again in the car. If we ride together at home, I could be dad. No, he got to call me like two, three or Brian or, you know, go if you want to. But it's easy for me because it's easy for me because I've been calling Bronnie for so long. It's not like I've been calling a son. A son. So it's easy for me. It's going to be the adjustment for him, but he cannot. We cannot be running down the court and he'd be like, Dad, I used to drive Abby crazy because her nickname when she was little was two and I'd call her two during a game or something like that and she'd fire me this look seven or eight years old cut through steel. No. Yeah. Don't call me out here like that pops. Yeah. My bad. Dude, there was a back in like elementary school. They could come on the overhead from the office and like talk into your room and be like, Hey, someone's mom's here to pick them up or whatever. Yes. And one mom thought it was cute to use her daughter's nickname in that scenario. So the office lady comes over the loudspeaker in our room and's like, you know, Pookie, your mom's here, whatever, we're in fourth grade and this girl just starts bawling. She just starts crying. I'm like, Oh, gosh, I feel so bad. Hey, man, Bronnie got a good if you're playing with your pops because now all your lunches and dinners and everything's going to be paid for because dad's got that, right? Oh, yeah. I don't care if I'm getting a paycheck. Dad's here. Like, you got that sandwich going. Pops. Right. You mean, you mean goats got that. Yeah. Go to three. You got me. You got me. You got me right here to three. Yeah. But now he's got to take a shower with his pops. Do you ever think about that? Oh, yeah. All the time. I thought about that last night. I was like, man. So now Brian, he's got to like hit the showers with pops. That's crazy. That is wild. That's wild. You got that. So you got that. So pops two, three, two, three. You got that. So one. Wow. Let's see. Mark Jones called the game last night for North Dakota State in Colorado. Mark Jones was in his bag at a boss man deal over reference. He was doing all types of stuff and he dropped a hell of a vocabulary word on us. Miller on the cake. Great handiwork and press the digitation with those fakes and sleight of hand. Second and short coming up on the eight yard game. What was greater? The number of yards. Can't Miller got on that scramble or the number of syllables in that word? And apparently, this is Kyle Smith's girlfriend's parking spot. And you're not supposed to park here. Now, the video looked real as hell, but I still can't tell if the skid, my man was laughing, I don't know. You're right there, love what? How can we take a picture somewhere? You're not supposed to be parking, this is my parking space? No, you can park in where you want, will I live here? No, there's lots of other spaces for you to park in. I've been parking in this space for the past 10 years, I live here. So do I. Well, this is still my space, so you can use one of those. So can you? Excuse me, I mean, do you know who my boyfriend is? Do you have any idea who my boyfriend is? Oh, he's a boyfriend. He's Kyle Smith. Why are you laughing? What's up with that? You obviously don't know him. Kyle, he's Kyle. He is the Kyle Smith. And if you don't move from my time... He's Kyle, what? Is that Kyle over there? If you don't move from here, okay, he is going to come down here and make you move. Oh, no, well, Kyle Smith sounds like trouble. Big Kyle Smith. Big Kyle Smith. What does he do? Sounds like the first scene of like a mafia movie. Kyle Smith shows up and starts whacking it. Hi, man, that's it, bro. Okay, is it our champion, LeBron James on being dead? Is it Mark Jones on the call for the Colorado game with the Presta Dididation reference? Mom teaching dotted account, Guy parked in Kyle Smith's... The Presta Dididation parking spot. Yeah. [laughter] Just like those bitty otakos that we love so much. Bitty otakos, yeah. Saw that Hurtado barbecue hat that you got on there, Brian. I'm doing my best to try and get us some food today, boys. I'm voting for two, three. Give me the park off. Loose it. Ugh. Bring your three best parkers. Yeah. Brought us to be hollering at some of those trucker girls in his algorithm. John, you what, man? They get it done. Uh, King James, yes. LeBron James taking a shot with his son. Bioscora three to one. And still, you're a G-bag today. Champion, it's LeBron. If you ever missed a G-bag today, 230, Lucius replays the champ for you every night in LA live at about 540. Alrighty. Where are we going next? Chief. Let's go. Big as hell. Big as a dub. 877-881-1053. Where have you taken some L's this week? More importantly, where have you gotten those personal victories live from the ballpark next year in the nation? 5-3, the fan. If you're rolling out to the ballpark tonight, swing on by. We're here in the Comerica backyard. It's a Corey Seeker bobblehead night, so you might want to get here a little early, first 15,000 fans. This thing sold out. Okay, it's time now to take a look at other big L's and big dubs of the week. Here's the chief. Yes, sir. Thank you very much. 877-881-1053. Where have you taken some L's this week? More importantly, where have you gotten those personal victories? Here's British Ian. One week ago, today, we received the news about our good buddy, Kenny and Quinlan, passing away. It was very, very unfortunate. The news was extremely saddening to us all and surprising and everything in between. I will say, big dub, the outpouring of love for Kenny and for his family this week on social media and all over the place from the Tolos has been wonderful. And even from my perspective, just seeing that outpouring of love there, I know goes a long way with him and his family. And so that has definitely warmed my heart. And I know that on September the 4th next week, singing Hills Funeral Home 11 a.m., that is where we will be celebrating the life of Kenny and Quinlan. So I'm looking forward to being there and I know there will be a bunch of Tolos there as well. We just wanted to mention that our guy Kenny and Quinlan passing away last week. We found out last Friday, absolute just a gut punch to all of us. But we will be having the funeral service September 4th and that will be at 11 a.m., singing Hills Funeral Home in Dallas. So just wanted to throw that out there. But man, we got a lot of good text right now. We have the 903 wife and I just bought our first new car. Big wheels. I've never done the brand new wheels. Obviously done the use car situation. Yeah. And that's kind of been my wheelhouse. But the brand new wheels, I can't even imagine how awesome. You know, a completely unblemished vehicle sitting in there. You know, you're breaking it in. It's amazing. You know, and I would, you know, encourage anybody to try that out as often as possible. Now we also have, let's see, there is somebody texting in right now. I'm not going to give the area code because they said they have a, they have to share an L slash dub with us. It feels like this is probably going to be more of an L than anything. But he doesn't want it to be read on air unless we give a different area code. But he says, man, it's a really, really good one. I'm like, bro, hit me with it. So we got a, I need you to text in. I saw it. I responded, please text in and let us know what this is because he's teasing us now with something that's pretty wild in his own life. Yeah. He's a little bit bashful about it, but also he understands the need for our entertainment. Well, while we wait for that text, I can tell you in my personal life, big dub this week, we moved up to number 21 in the state of Texas rankings. Wow. We were like 45th at the start of summer, but it's been a great summer for my surf team. Twenty one. Twenty one. So yeah, you know, I don't know how much higher we can go than this, but dude, they're breathing fire now. They're balling. The L, three of my best players hurt this week. We had an appendix. We had planar fasciitis. Ooh. And we have a sprained ankle. Ooh. Going into the first weekend of the league year. The trifecta man literally. Yeah, we're doing over there limping into the season. They turn, they become teenagers and now they're strong enough to hurt themselves. Yeah. Well, and the climb from 45 to 21, they left it out, you know, all out on the field, out on the pitch this summer. Yeah, they were willing to fight for it. It was great. Well, congratulations on that, man. That's freaking fantastic. We got the 469 Biggest L poor fantasy draft. I guess he already knows it. Nothing like on draft. They've ever walked out of the war room on draft after draft weekend. Hays in the war and they're brought us and you're like, I don't even like what I just did it. Oh, I did that. I've walked out of plenty of those rooms where I was like going, we have absolutely no chance in hell with what we just did. 2 on 4, Biggest L today, my 17. Hey, did y'all walk out shaking each other's hands though? All right, we should check for a job. No, my job. Like they would have the, they would have the like Jerry party where they all sit around and watch the tape and smoke cigars. I would just quietly pack up my stuff and go home. I would, I'd just sit in my office and just start packing up all my notes and just trying to get it all together. Yeah, I never was part of those days where we'd sit in the cigar, in the war room. And the next day you go in there and smell like booze and cigars and all that. Like you're in a bar. Yeah. And it just will remind me of like, you know, okay, here's the, here's the fool's goal. You know, we're all acting like this is going to work. We did it. Yeah, it's not. Yeah. We got Mazzi. Yeah. Yeah. We got Mazzi. That's not all. Skoon maker. Let's put on that tape and watch that guy. And I'm like, I think I'm going to pack my gear up and go home. Two on four. Big as hell. Today my 17 month old son got his first shiner. Can somebody please translate that for me? Black guy. Yeah. Either that or he's got a beer. Biggest dub. It's been a little over a month. No cigarettes. And pushing nine months clean sober off of opiates and benzos. Wow. Congratulations. Two one four. Nine months strong. Good living right there. Keep crushing it, my man. Let's see here. We have the 972. Big as hell. Realize my driver's license expires next week. Yeah. I'm in that mode. I'm getting close. I dropped the ball on the old inspection situation. Yeah. I just realized I looked up today. I'm like, oh no, it's the 30th. It's going to expire now. I can't go to Kroger and just handle business down the street. I'm going to have to go DMV style to get this thing hammered home to get that new sticker on there. Are you kidding me? I'm forcing the turn of events. I mean, one of the worst things about being an adult. Hey, good luck on that driver's license situation too. Have you been ever getting an appointment to get it done? Yes. It is impossible right now. My driver's license says 2018, fam. Supply chain, huh? Any chance you can go to like a small town. Can you hit the Wichita Falls or, I mean, a watch to hatch? Can you get a watch to hatchie? You know, can you show up at least a little town? What I learned is every morning each one of these releases a certain number of appointments that they have during the day. But other than that, if you don't get one of those, you got to schedule your appointment out like months and months. I did a mail-in situation last year that last time and it worked. And now they sent me the letter. It says I can't do the mail-in again. Yeah, that's where I got to. I've already used the one option that I had. You had your one mulligan? Yeah, I got my one mulligan. So I have to go stand in line or make an appointment. My goodness, man. Well, this is Rachel. That's her with the expiring driver's license, but she did snag a cancellation spot this afternoon. She followed up with that. There you go. Nice work. Rachel in the 972. That's a, that's a, that's a heady play right there. We have three, two, one biggest dub, three day weekend. That's exciting. And I think it's going to be like this temperature wise. Are we about to get out of this thing? Yeah. Not completely scorched. We might have some thunderstorms to contend with, but I'll take it. Don't you read the emails we get every morning at 6 a.m.? Burn off. Yeah. Burn off sends us an email, tells us exactly what's going to happen for the next week. You don't read that deal. I've just been in this mode where it's like, he's going to tell me it's hot again. Yeah. So it's like, you know, wake me up when September ends brought us. It's like the 80s. I know the Lakers or Celtics are going to be in the NBA finals. Yeah. Woohoo. He does it again. He does a great job with that. No, he does. Disrespect. You show that man's embarrassed. He's got a wheelhouse and he sticks to it, dominate and salute to you, Danny. Two, one, four big dub, I'll be Vader at the Texas Rangers Star Wars night, September 7th. That's nice. Come out and see Twolo Vader. Oh, yeah. So it's going to be Twolo Vader. That's our guy. Twolo Vader coming in full force and he is going to be at globe life field hanging out as Darth Vader. What was our dude that used to, that were the baseball uniform? Oh. Sang for us. Yeah. Rowdy. Rowdy Seymour. I haven't seen him in a while. It's all an opening day, right? Your presence is being requested, Rowdy. Yeah. Didn't see him in a while. Come on, Rowdy. I'm about to take an L because my battery's down to like 21% on my computer and I forgot my charger. Oh, jeez, dude. I think Ruby's going to try and save me with his computer. So I might be off the video part for a bit. What if his jumper cables don't work like mine didn't last week? I'm getting everybody jumper cables for Christmas. I'm just letting you know that right now. Wow. It was thermal pins, but now it's going to be jumper cables. A dub didn't want a new phone. Fiancé wife talked me into it because there was some special promotion going on. So I was like, wow, this is an L. I don't know. I don't even want this phone. And the whole time I was doing it, I was like, man, I just want to leave. But then since I got it yesterday, I used my phone all day. I got home, the battery had 74% left. Whoa. I was like, what the hell? No, new batteries do that all the time, bro. Yeah. Just wait. I didn't realize how bad I had it. Yeah. In a couple of weeks, you'll be like, oh, damn thing, just bust your balloon. You really did. I just undercut it. Well, I'll enjoy it while I can. Yeah. Well, hey, I did. Sorry. I'm just being honest. I did. I did want to mention here big dub to Glenn Big Baby Davis. Yeah. LSU. LSU, that's correct. Did he get that jail? Well, not necessarily. He went. But he has. Oh, I thought he did. Well, he's getting ready to. He's actually been allowed to delay the start of his prison sentence to finish filming whatever documentary he's working on. So he was supposed to already be behind bars, but he will get to wait until October 22nd before he starts serving his three-year, four-month stint. The hamburger. For, of course, defrauding an insurance plan for NBA players and their families. Yeah. All right. He's a family man. Yeah. Big guy, too. Good Samaritan trying to help. I don't have any documentary. The hamburger. He's just, you know, he's got kids to eat. You understand? Yeah. And Mickey. I feel bad for that prison mattress, dude. That's going to be like smashed to the width of a sheet of paper at a time he's done with. Well, he said he's like the only-- Smash burger. He's like-- He's translucent before you go. He's actually looking at this at like the most positive outlook he has ever gone to jail. Yeah. He's like, I'm going to lose weight. He's like, nothing can stop me from eating just everything I want to eat unless I'm in prison. So he's like, this is going to be good for me. He's not looses. He's not going to the hard prison, right? No, no. He's going to the Fed time. But yeah, I seen that clip that Eric's talking about it. He did respond to it earlier in the game like, yeah, I'll be all right. But as the thing is going on, you can see the sadness starting to hit him a little bit. The reality is sitting in. It's a long time. Yeah. It ain't four months, bro. It's three years and four months. You see it, bro. You better be in real danger. Yeah. You know, it might be a special situation at the place he's going, but they have top ramen and donuts and like all kinds of crap to get you fat pop tarts. Yeah. They're going to be that easy. You can get big in prison. You can. Come on now, big baby. But we'll see. I guess. I saw you punishing those donuts before the show. I hope it's worth it. I hope it's a great documentary. Okay. I'm now to take a look at this ever-evolving world of the NFL. It's Eric's filling in for Wulchuck, NFL News of the day. Yes, sir. Thank you very much. 877-8811053. I do want to leave you with this big L here from the 214, a little bit self-inflicted. He's very self-aware about the decision he's making, but he says that he's breaking his current lease to move back in with his ex-baby mama to save her from getting evicted. He notes stupid decisions, but that's where some folks are here in the Metroplex right now. That's what they're dealing with. So his child is with the baby mama and he's trying to keep really the child from being put on the street, right? Feels that way. Yeah. Doing what he can. That's an honorable thing to do, man. No question about it. Yeah. I know there's a lot of ways to raise a family, but I mean, whatever problems you're solving by moving out in the first place, probably the right decision. I don't know, man. I mean, you're having to move back in there. I would say just make it work. Once you make a baby, make it work. How do you feel about, man? Here we are, like given advice, but how would you feel about taking the child and then making arrangements at your place that the child's going to be at your place? Sometimes that would just want to happen, though. The judge won't let you, you know, judge, he's about to get involved with her parent. Yeah. I mean, like I would argue like, listen, the child's in danger of being put on the street. Yeah. You know, why don't you let me take the child, I'll get child care and the child will be. So then I would, so then to that, I would say, you know, now you have to deal with mom who's mad that she can't see her baby and is trying to make your life hell. You would probably be better if you could go back with the DeLorean, with the flux capacitor back in time and just do whatever it takes to keep her happy. Yeah. That's, that's my approach. And I think I kind of thinking like if it's done, the Lord sides with me, chief, I think so. Yeah. I think so. Yeah. There's there's certainly... Sorry to go blip biblical. No, no. It's a Friday. We got the good fun vibes flown. You never have to apologize for going biblical to me personally. I would say like, listen, you can come see the baby when you want to come see the baby or the child. Yeah. But you need to get yourself together. Yeah. You know, the fact that you're the fact, you know, if, if me taking care of the child helps you get your life back together, where you can, you know, we can maybe make some arrangements from there. Yeah. But obviously she can't pull it together. She's going to get evicted. Yeah. So I, maybe the child's better off with me anyway. I don't think a judge, only a judge would sign and I could be way, way wrong about this. Yeah. But if the judge is saying, you know, he's got to say, wait a minute, where does the child's safety have a better chance? It appears it's with the dad and not the mom, which I'm not trying to take kids away from moms. I'm just saying, you know, where's this guy at? I want to follow up like, why is she your ex right there? She's an ex for a reason, fam. Is that a Texan? Did we get that? That's what that was a text. So you sit that text. That was definitely a text. Yeah. Let's follow up. And the two, one, four biggest L breaking my leads to move back in with my ex baby mom. Still your baby, momma though, breaking at least you got to pay that penalty and then you got to come back and take care of her. And like I said, she's an ex for a reason. So let's hope everything works out. There's a lot going on there. A lot. This is a guy who's hard to the right place though. I feel like. Yeah. That's the one they love. So stupid. I love that one the most. Yeah. Yeah. He's borderline two years. 10 grand. Don't worry about it. Whenever you want to get it back to me. What? Never. Exactly. That's me walking out afterwards. Yeah. I am going to give you the single best football analysis of one player that I've ever heard. Okay. So just not something working between the hip and the knee. No. No, we're not talking baseball. It's pretty impressive. Okay. We're talking football here. All right. Excellent speed and quickness despite his mammoth size. I've heard that one. It's a pretty good one. I had a scout say that one time. This guy's got excellent speed and quickness despite his mammoth size. That is tough to. Yeah. You're not going to beat that one. That's what you're going all in with. Yeah. That's the best football analysis you've ever heard about. This guy's as sure as death and taxes. Well, we do have an update. We know that the Packers and the Eagles are starting on a Friday night in Brazil. We heard about their disdain for the color green and there's been so many rumors about not being able to wear green there, but you bring in the green Bay Packers and the filthy Eagles. Yeah. And how? That's how the NFL missed this one up. The odd wizards that came up with that. Is that a real thing? It's a real thing. That's a real thing. It's a real thing. Come on, bro. Soccer teams. Okay. I don't know how real it is, but I just saw the update on what the Eagles are going to be wearing black and they're wearing. They've never done this before, right? Yeah. The Eagles wearing a black helmet. Yeah. They're wearing black pants. Yeah. They will be wearing a white jersey. Now it looks like there are still the green green numbers. It does still look like green numbers. I think they're holding these things. Yeah. I thought it was, I thought it were gold. I thought they were kind of goldish numbers. The graphic that they tweeted out, the filthy Eagles. Those look good. I'm not going to lie. Yeah. It looks pretty cool. And their, their, their helmets are so dark green that they can look black at times, I guess. And, and maybe their pants as well, but this is legit black pants, legit black helmet with the white jersey. So maybe a little green is allowed. Maybe just a touch of green is a, I would be interesting to see what the Packers are able to pull off here. They're the home team. They're supposed to be wearing a green jersey. So I don't know, but I do know that the Eagles are wearing more black on their uniform than they ever have. Packers were in their 1995 throwbacks uniforms with gold helmets. The blue and gold ones. Baby blue. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just, I'm just throwing it out. I know the Brazil team has played there. They're usually in like a yellow or a white, but they have a little green on the crest for the country. You know, green is a pretty prominent color around Brazil. That must, you know, be quite a amount of sports passion. You ain't kidding, man. Okay. We also have the, uh, the Rishi rice situation and it gets suspended. No, it's not. And they, they don't anticipate that it's going to be on the waivers. Not going to be on the commissioner's exempt list, either unless there's a material change in the case. So the NFL is really waiting for the legal situation to play out before determining anything. So there's a very good chance that Rishi rice doesn't miss anytime this season and it could be at a, at a later date when he actually gets the penalty by the league once a ruling comes down. So I know a lot of people have been avoiding Rishi rice, uh, in their fantasy drafts and whatnot, but, uh, it seems like that's still going to be like he was legit last year. That's, that's still an awesome player. And so if the chiefs don't have to miss him for any time, which at this point, it doesn't look like they will maybe for this season, at least not early on in the season, uh, there, there's just an update on his situation once that three Pete. Yeah. Dang right. He does. First ever in the NFL. The league's doing a good job of not making their players miss steps off the field in the big national news. You know, I think that's what kind of they learned from the Zeke deal is like, man, there was not even any prosecution here. And we just made this huge controversy out of it that soiled one of the top brands we have in our league. This was not good for us. And the guy was never convicted and we're suspending him for six games. We got way carried away trying to get into the world of law and order when we should be running football teams. Yeah. But what about our guy in Vegas? Killed that. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Don't they, I kind of felt like that the league is saying, listen, if you're going to continue to drink, drive, drive fast, whatever, that we're going to come down on you for this kinds of things. Yeah. I thought the rugs thing was going to say, when are you going to learn when we're going to take game checks away from you when you're going to learn? Yeah. And send a message. And obviously they, they don't think so. I mean, these happen quite often in the NFL. It's kind of crazy for a league of 1500 players. How often you get a Josh Brenner, who was the other guy in the 90s? Good rich. That was doing good. Yeah. Yeah. That was early 2000s. Yeah. Well, the Jamar chase saga, I mean, it's a big one here for the Bengals. He's looking to get paid. He's a year. He came out into the NFL. Yeah. He's still got two years left on his deal, unlike what Justin Jefferson and CD Lam both just had. So he's trying to get to the big contract a year earlier than these other guys similar to like what Zeke did some years ago. So you have Ian Rappaport of NFL Network saying that he wants to be the highest paid wide receiver. He wants to be Justin Jefferson, even if it's just by one cent, he wants to be the highest paid receiver in football. So, and that's his LSU teammate. Jamar Chase was the, was thought to be the better player while they were there. He was younger, but as a true freshman, he's like absolutely dominating. And so, but now since coming into the league, Justin Jefferson has probably been a little bit better than him. And so, but you know, Jamar Chase and the confidence and of course, wanted to get paid and having that sort of that competition there with, with your, your teammate from college. He wants to be, even if it's just a cent, he wants to be the highest paid, but he's playing for the Bengals and they don't usually fork up all the money and reset markets at any position. Let alone a, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. With Burrow. I was just asking, I wasn't trying to like check on that. I'm just saying, I thought they did it with Burrow. Burrow did get paid. Yes. So we'll see, man. It's crazy if, if Jamar Chase, I mean, and that's another tough one in a fantasy draft is you're trying, if you're doing a fantasy draft, I know I got a couple of mine this weekend, you're like, crap, where can I take him if he's going to be serious about this? How far is he going to take this? I'm just worried about guys missing game checks. You know, I just, I find that really, really hard that you're that dug in that you're going to end up with way less than, than the goal that you want. I always remember Laveon Bell and I think Laveon Bell, he didn't accept the what a $16 million, your contract, something like that. He thought he could get more and he left all that money on the, on the table there. Man. This thing has been very important to athletes since the beginning of pro sports and if you're the upper, you know, a classman, you know, maybe you feel like I want to be the top paid guy once we get to the NFL and if you're the younger guy, you're like, I want to prove that I was the guy. I was, I was more than that guy. I am that guy. And you know, I think it's kind of getting hung up on the wrong thing, but it's real that, that, that comparative mind to lock in and be obsessed with, you know, recognition that you're the best. What's up, ladies? You have Mike McDaniel, dolphins head coach getting an extension through 2028. So kudos to him. Have you seen his look? Yes. Yes. Number one offense, made the playoffs two years in a row, dolphins train wreck before you got them. Like I'd be looking to give this dude a lifetime contract right now. He gets along so well with everybody in the organization. The players like him. The front office likes him. Like whoo. Yeah, I think you're, you're, you're totally right. He's done so much for them. They're, they're one of the more must watch teams just because of the excitement they bring, especially offensively, but their offense has completely faded at the end of each season. They come out of the gates incredible and then get them into November and December and play off atmospheres and they can't, yeah, they just, they can't get it done. How much of that is McDaniel, the play caller and play designer. How much of that is to, I don't know. But that's going to be something that they're going to have to get cleaned up here. They just paid to, I don't know how smart of a move that was, but nonetheless, happy for McDaniel. One of the funnest teams in funnest offenses in all of football, at least for the first couple of months of every season, and there's a crazy new technology that's pretty cool right now. It's a $3 patch from Gatorade and NFL players are starting to wear this. And basically, it's trying to get ahead of things like soft tissue injuries and cramps by being able to monitor the hydration levels and sodium levels on each player. Finally, somebody figured this out. It's like a patch that they get to where it's the GX sweat patch and it's brought to you by Gatorade and they're trying to get this all over the NFL, but it's a single use adhesive patch and I guess there's been players all across training camps and preseason and stuff that have been wearing this thing, but trainers will basically just stick a patch on each player's inner left forearm before practice where it collects sweat and measure its sodium concentration. Then after practice is done, each patch can be scanned using the GX app to show how much body fluid was lost, how much sodium needs to be replenished for the athlete to recover efficiently. So, NFL teams then can use this data to create a personalized electrolyte mix for each player and then players are required to drink from the same bottle throughout the practice so that their fluid intake can also be tracked. So, it's kind of a cool deal to mitigate dehydration, cramps, soft tissue injuries, that kind of stuff. Something to consider here, I like where this thing is going and it's- Yeah, I'm trying to look it up right now, man. This is great. Week one and week two. Yeah, you can buy them. You can buy them straight up. You get like a 70 pack for like 20, or maybe it's a 20 pack for 70 bucks. I don't know. Something like that. And then here is the quote- Seems pretty pricey. I believe this, it's a $3 patch. Every time you use it, you just spent $3. Yeah. A cup of coffee. Pretty pricey for you and I, but for NFL teams, they get them all free, right? For sure. Yeah. Okay. Now, here's the quote. Here's the analysis. I believe this is the best football analysis and scouting report that we've ever received. It is where the courtesy of Beast Mode, Marshawn Lynch, talking about Christian McCaffrey. Quote, the Snow Bunny Pearl is going APS right now, toting that tater bud. He'd be doing hella S out of the backfield with that ball. Yeah. End quote. The Snow Bunny. The Snow Bunny Pearl is going APS right now, toting that tater bud. He'd be doing hella S out of the backfield with that ball. He's a greatest man. That is good. Get him a gig on TV. Amazing. Yes. Right. It's from his new, his new podcast and, uh, somebody was kind of talking over him when he said it. So I just went ahead and, and made it to where there you go. I wrote it down. I don't even know what it's called. I'm sorry. I, I do. I do have it here. Is it called Beast Mode? It should be called the Beast Mode podcast, to be honest with you. Uh, it's called Get Got, the Get Got Pod. Okay. I saw Mark Cuban was on Jalen Brunson's podcast. You guys see that and they talked about his free agency and everything. It was really cool. Yeah. And maybe we'll have time to get to that a little bit later on. But anonymous GM poll, uh, no, I'm sorry, anonymous agent poll with the athletic. What's the most dysfunctional organization in the NFL? Would Jerry be surprised to see the results of that and so much more. It's the G-Bag Nation live at the Comerica backyard and we're here to talk about it with you here in the G-Bag Nation. Yeah, buddy. Welcome back nation. We're live Comerica backyard here at the Globe Rangers baseball back tonight here in Arlington. Great chance to come out and see them. Now it is a sellout tonight. First 15,000 get Corey Seager bobble heads and it's a Margarita ville of Friday night here with the Jimmy Buffett party scene and everything going down like that. But you know, next week, Jacob DeGrom is going to be pitching for the Texas Rangers, which is just exciting. And I think before too long, Comerica rocker is going to be up here. You kidding me? You don't think Ray Davis is looking at that as an opportunity to get fans excited and make another, you know, 10 grand or something on a Friday night that's really important to him. Yeah. Mr. Penny Pincher himself. 10 grand. Yeah. I mean, I'll be like, I know you guys put a 50 getting a limit on him and he could get injured. He's coming back from his shoulder and a Tommy John. But if I start him one more game here, it could really help my bottom line, you know. I'm trying to get to $5.13 billion before the end of this year. I just, I've had too much time at 5.12, you know, we got to grind out these extra tens of thousands of dollars wherever possible, you know, keep your eye on the prize. What's really important. And again, Ray, thanks so much for the World Series Championship. I appreciate it. Thanks for bringing in Simmy and Seager. But if that's, if that's all you needed to be satisfied, now you're like, well, hey, you know, the Mavs want a championship like 15 years ago and the fans still talk about it. I'm good for another 15 years, barely making the playoffs. That sounds about right. If that's what you want to do, Ray, just sell the damn team, please. Okay, because CY and Boach and, you know, I'll give some credit to JD as well, have put the pieces in place for this thing to be special for a long time. We should just settle for one. Let's go do it. Okay. Luxury tax threshold. You kidding me? You see the Dodgers payroll? It's like 320 million. It's like 80 million more. You're like, yeah, we're going to be paying the luxury tax here for the next four or five years. But that's the price of doing business. Ray sees the Oakland A's coming into town. He's like, I like the way they do business over there. Yeah, 50 million dollar payroll. Tell me about this money ball thing. You know, we, we just need to draft and develop better guys. Always asking me to spend money. What do you think this is? Billy Bean, make the trip here today. They're coming in here hot too, fellas. They've been doing some winning over the last month. But we have an anonymous agent survey that's fantastic from the world of the NFL. The segments brought to you by soda, that state of the art, it's brought to you by cars for kids. You know, the agent's perspective, I think, is the one I'm most interested in when it comes to all this. That was an incredible burp that you just snuck past. Yeah, it's amazing. The ability that you just, I mean, what a balancing act. You got the players, you got the anonymous GMs, but they got some sort of an axe to grind. You know, I think these agents are working so closely with all the different components involved. Their perspective might be the best. On Jones ownership, anonymous agent, I don't think they want to win. I don't think they want to win above all. Jerry wants to turn profits and make headlines. I think the game has passed him by. I wonder how Jerry Jones would look at that. Boy, he's taking it from all angles, isn't he? You got DAXA, any lax credibility, you got anonymous agents saying, you know, the game is passed. You buy Jerry, what are you going to do to prove us wrong, brother? You know, I tell you, it's sad that, you know, I'm a guy that did not play football, did not, wasn't a co-captain of a national championship team like you were back in the day, you know, but the thing with Jerry is he left football for 20 years. He comes back in and within what three years he built the dynasty. That's because it's not that hard if you really, really want it. It's a copycat league always has been. There's always been teams providing the blueprint and he stepped up and said, oh, well, it's pro football, not that hard. Watch this. And he got it done to the tune of three championships in four years, right? And now all these years later, he has become so deluded by his drive and his distractions that a guy like me who never played football, hell, definitely not in college, spent the first 15 years of my broadcast career working in an NBA market, talking Pac-10 football, barely even looking at the NFL other than in my own interests. And even I have a much better idea of what it takes to win a championship than Jerry Jones, the self-described best GM in football. So I think that's tough, Jerry, and I'm going to challenge you. What are you going to do about that? Yeah. He loves it. He feeds off of it. And it just makes him, I think, even more entrenched into where he's at. And it's not that he probably has extra motivation to prove everybody wrong in a sense, but what's tangible that he's actually doing with that motivation. That's different than what he's been doing this entire time. It'd be tough to really put your finger on anything. But when he starts this thing off, what does he do? He makes the most important hire, the head coach, and he frickin nailed it. He did. And then he decided that he wanted to be the guy that was more of the shot collar. And so now it's a different type of head coach that you're hiring, Mike McCarthy. No problem, man. Don't really need to look at the free-agent stuff, player acquisition, whatever. You guys handle that. Surprise me with a fourth round pick you just spent on a quarterback, everybody thinks sucks. Okay, very good. I don't mind that because I'm Mike McCarthy, and that's okay. And I'm a guy that got lucky one year. I had one of the greatest quarterback talents ever. I want a Super Bowl with that. Cool. I'm the type of guy you want to hire, Jerry, because I'm going to stay out of your hair a little bit. Jimmy Johnson's like, "No, no, no, no. I'm going to be doing something here. I'm the football guy. I'm going to find the quarterback. I'm going to build the roster, and we will oil slumbertys together." And if you get back to that mindset, Jerry, then you can start the process of figuring it out. Get the coach right. You haven't done it since Jimmy. Yeah. And then we'll start worrying about the quarterback. If he hires Bella Chek, are you guys going to slam him? No, I'm not going to. I'm not slamming anybody for hiring the greatest football coach of all time. I'm not going to do that. Dolls up. I think that's another potential for the game is passed in by. But I don't know what the evidence was that Bella Chek can give you an edge after Brady left. Like the decision is bad. Just look at this last three or four drafts. But if he's going to be head coach, he's going to help you scout the opponent. And you're going to have a front office and a real offensive coordinator. I'd be excited about Bella Chek. Has he ever hired a real offensive coordinator? I mean, we could talk about the guy. McDaniel's. McDaniel's. Yeah. I think he had... Nobody that's ever succeeded somewhere else. Yeah. Yeah. Wice. I mean, to me, football, you talk about Bella Chek and the fact that he'll come in here and he'll want to work and stuff, and he'll be that part of it. But I think the Patriots made the right decision. He was running the personnel department. The way that he ran the personnel department, their drafts were terrible, their teams terrible. It's one of the worst teams. You know, when you look at it right now, will it wolves dealing with a mess of an organization? So, you know, I'm kind of like, you know, I'm kind of like in that situation right now where I don't know if I want Bill Bella Chek to come rolling in here. That's totally fine. It's totally fine, but it would show that Jerry's willing to acquiesce a little bit to a football person. They did it for Parcells. You know? They did it with Parcells. Best run franchise. Cowboys weren't in the top 10. It was mostly Chiefs, Niners, Eagles, which is the most unstable franchise Cowboys finished tied for third in that one. Gotta be the Jets, right? Yeah. Well, most unstable franchise. I can tell you a couple of Chek. You got that? Yeah. Unstable is going to be the Panthers, then the Raiders, then the Jets. Yeah, okay. There we got the Panthers. They got the Panthers. But they got as many votes. I mean, the Jets, Jaguars, Cowboys and Cardinals all got the same amount of votes for most unstable. But I don't know. I don't know. I really better there. I don't think it's that bad. They're not unstable. Who? The Cowboys. Yeah. The Cowboys are not unstable. No. It's very stable. You'd argue a little too stable with some of the same face. I understand Jerry and the nuts here on this thing. I would use the word impotent instead of unstable, you know, or maybe capped. I don't know, which franchise had the best offseason commanders won that poll. They like the hire of Dan Quinn and the drafting of the quarterback, and, you know, obviously you move on from that owner that gives it a chance to have better leadership from the top. I think that's really what it is. Just not having Dan Snyder there anymore is a huge, huge one. We ask you this. Should agents, and I'm just, I'm not trying to defend Jerry Jones here, and I know it sounds like it. Should agents hate Jerry Jones for the fact that the amount of money from the contracts that they've done, that everything seems to be, yeah, they fight him, but at the end of the day, their players have seemed have gotten the most value for their fight. Yeah. No, I mean, I'm just asking is if you're an agent, you should kind of look at Jerry Jones as a, well, damn, I'm going to battle him, but he's going to give my guy more money. You know, he's not going to, he's not going to cheapskate me, but he's going to, he's going to make me fight and fight and fight and fight at the end, I'm going to get my contract. Yeah. I don't think they dislike him. You know, I think he's a, he's a likable guy. Maybe you could be annoyed if you don't have any players that have been drafted by them because he's not going to go, you know, make a compelling offer to your free agent coming in from another team. I kind of look at the guys. I mean, I think CD Lam's agents probably pretty happy with Jerry Jones right now. Yeah. He kind of kicked his ass the whole way, but he else, we got what he wanted, Zeke. All these guys that Zach Martin, he didn't have to extend Zach Martin. He extended Zach Martin, he, they, they, they, with the, the thing with Terence Steele injured his stuff. My guy is hurt and you're giving him more money. Yeah. As an agent, I'm like going, God, this poll is more about like how good you are doing your job for your team. I don't think there was a question like how easy are these guys to work with? Right. Right. You're going to say that Howie Roseman is the best general manager. I think the guy in Kansas City is actually the best one. They like Roseman a lot. They like Roseman a lot. Best GM Brett Veach won it with the Kansas City. Right. Roseman was second. Okay. Roseman is second though, but in, in actually, how do you think about Philadelphia's team right now? What do you, what do you guys think about Philadelphia's team? Borderline playoff team. There you go. Yeah. And that's the best general manager. I don't trust any of you. He's put you in the simple twice in the last seven years. I get it, but I'm just saying though, I'm just asked you guys, I didn't, I just asked you both. Yeah. You both said. Well now, but I, I believe that the, the best GM's are writing the teeter totter. We're up a couple of years. We're much more down. Sure. A couple of years. Sure. So I think, you know, the fact that the evil eagles are, are the evils. I like that. Yeah. That was unintentional. But the fact that they're mid this year, I think is actually a sign that they're doing it right. But Brett Vich want it with the Chiefs. I mean, how, how could you not commanders won the pole of best off seed. These eagles came in fifth there, locking up Devontae Smith before the receiver market took off the extended H.A. Brown as well. Signed Saequon Barkley. I don't know. That's a lot of money for an injury prone running back. They helped the defense with Vic Fangio. I don't know about that. First two picks on corners to help an older corner backroom. That was a pretty good draft they had, didn't they Brian? Yeah. The corner they got is a, is a good player. Yeah. Absolutely. All righty. Well, uh, I do think you make a good point in regards to the way agents feel about the Cowboys, uh, Dawson in terms of like the outside for agents though, like, yeah, they pay their own, but how many guys feel like they've gotten a low ball offer from the Cowboys and for agency over the years, like, you know, like, Hey, Hey, uh, Bobby Wagner. Of course we'd love to have, you know what, a leak minimum and he's like, go after yourself. Derek Henry is like, man, I can't even, I can't even get in a room with these guys. They want nothing to do with me or whatever. So just, I do think there is some aspect of that. But again, as Dawson mentioned, I do think this is just more of like, Hey, bias is aside. How do you think they run their organization compared to all the other teams that you run with? It's not about, did you get your guys paid with them? It's like, are, is, is the game of football, passing Jerry by? I'm asking you this question. Is there a free agent out there that you wish they would have went and bought? Is there somebody in your mind that you're like, you know what, gamut, if they would have done this in this last, I'm just saying any class, anytime, anytime, what, give me the free agent that you guys, and I know that's an unfair question. Cause you probably should have had a chance to research it a little bit. Yeah, I would have to like, but I just was curious, I'm as curious about that. And I wonder how that guy ended up. Was it somebody that they should have gone after they didn't get him or they didn't even try? Probably Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, you know, they like to sit with just slightly above average quarterbacks. When these Hall of Famers are coming available, you know, Peyton Manning took team championship. Tom Brady, team championship. See, this is the thing. Okay. Now, this is, this is where, you know, when you look at, when you look at Peyton Manning, Dawson damaged goods, he was pretty good in Denver, didn't he throw like 45 damage goods. I mean, the Super Bowl he won, he won with the defense, but he was a damaged player. Yes, but he had a Hall of Fame mind and didn't screw it up, you know, even though he couldn't throw the ball. 30 yards. See, and I have a feeling if you and I were doing radio together, you would have kicked their ass for taking a damaged quarterback. Um, you know, you're good with this. You're good at saying, Hey, I don't want the damaged player. I've done basketball shows with you. I've done baseball shows with you. And I guarantee you would say it was one injury, you know, you're, you're, you're consistent about it. Yeah. You're consistent. I would take, I'll take one injury, Peyton Manning over five injury, Tony Romo. Yeah. I mean, like the whole thing with, uh, with, uh, Max Scherzer. Yeah. Why, why do we want Max Scherzer here? Like everybody was. I was more, I was more anti to Grom. Yeah. And then because that's a track record, not just one injury that you're coming back from. But that's what I'm saying. The Colts moved on from Peyton Manning because Andrew Luck was staring them in the face. Yes, you're going to get eventually some injuries in sports, Brian. And I don't want the guy that is chronically injured, but if the guy that it's been healthy his whole career, Peyton Manning, like all those consecutive starts, one injury, neck damage shoulder down here, he's got a broken back, he's got a collarbone, Tony rumble was right and left. And they're like, no, we're sticking with our guy as these goats are moving teams and they're like, no, we're sticking with our dudes. I mean, these are just, these are agents, Brian. No, I'm just, I'm just saying that to me, none of them are capin for Jerry Jones. Well, that, but I'm saying it, but, but they, but the deal is though, the whole thing is these agents, and I said it earlier, these agents shouldn't be, they should, they should be kissing Jerry's ass for the money that are put in their pocket. That's why they're not, because they're anonymous. They don't, they're, they're unbiased about the money they're just sharing honest opinions. I wonder which agent is talking to, to be honest with you. I don't know. Do you think they're going to hire you like as much as you've been defending them this week in the, in the face of all of this? No. Why are you doing this, Brian? No. Why do you continue to defend a three decade run of crap? I think we have to be fair about it. That's all I'm doing. That's all, that's all. I mean, I understand. I've been, hey, the last time they won a Super Bowl, I was, I won one the year after. That was a long time ago. Yeah. Long time ago. It was a long time ago. But I'm saying, but it was like five years after the calendar is one year last. I wonder though, about some of these agents, that's all I'm just bringing it up. That's all. Okay. Well, we do have Crusty's Corner coming up next, Brian. Where would you like to take the conversation? Yeah, I got a survey. I'm going to run through with my guys. We'll do that. Okay. Thank you, Lucius. We're live at the Globe, where the Rangers take on the A's tonight season tickets for 2020-25 on sale now. It is time for Crusty's Corner, brought to you by reliant air conditioning, gimmick-free AC repair and replacement areas. The King brought us. Thank you very much, General. Appreciate that. Someone text me and reminded me about Namde Awesome Law, what we, you know, when we start talking about. That was, yeah. Guys that we, like free agent dudes, like we were like excited about it. Go get them, break the bank. I was like going, I was like going, God, I forgot about that name, Namde Awesome. I remember being in, I remember being in the press box in San Antonio and we're looking down on the field and it's Jerry, Rob Ryan, they're practicing and they're passing the phone around during practice like recruiting him is what they were doing. They had him, they were trying to get the guy to come and then he goes on to Philadelphia. But they were, during the practice, you could tell that they were, you know, they were passing it around to try and get everybody to, to get him, to get him signed up. I was like, all right, here we go. We were doing like live, like we were doing live commentary about it. Like we're all in the press box like talking to you, okay, what are they doing? What are they doing? What are they doing? Let's go back and forth and stuff like that. It's kind of crazy. Rob Ryan. Rob Ryan on the phone. Trying to get that done. All right, in honor of, on Friday, and I always like to try and have fun, on, I saw Dawson's Mrs. Baird's grabbing go donut bag over there, right? But on the webcam here. Lucius, are you with us today too? Are you with us today? Lucius, I'm busy. Physically, I'm here. Yeah. Okay. I need you for this game, if I could. All right. So we're going to play a little Friday game is what we're going to do. Okay. I looked up some because I was curious, I was just curious about, you know, what are the, what are the, like the worst things you can eat? Like from a health standpoint? Yeah. And I'm going to go, I'm going to give you two. I'm going to give you two things and you got to tell me what is the worst of the two things I'm going to give you to eat. Okay. We're going to, we're going to play this game. Okay. You ready? Because I can say the grabbing goes or, and the grabbing goes were on here. The grabbing goes on. Yeah, they're on here. It's inspired by them. It's inspired by show. That's a Mrs. Baird, by the way. Yeah. I just wanted to make sure she's still getting it done. All right. Sweet lady. Chief, I'll start with you on this one. Mm hmm. Okay. This is coming from dietitians. This is a dietitian top 25 of the worst things you can eat. Problem with that is oftentimes the D and dietitian stands for dumbass. Okay. Okay. Okay. So hopefully that's not the case here. Okay. Here we go. Fruit, canned in syrup, or diet soda, which is the worst for you to eat, chief? Or consume. How about that? Fruit in canned syrup or diet soda. I'm sure that canned syrup is important there, but I would still, I would still say I'd rather put fruit in my body than whatever the heck a diet soda is. So you're saying? I would say the fruit is healthier. You're saying the fruit is healthier? But it's probably got more sugar in it. Okay. How about you, Dawson? I'm going to say the fruit syrups, the worst. It's that high glucose corn syrup stuff. Okay. So you're saying that's the worst. Okay. Lucius, what's the worst for you? Fruit, canned in syrup, or a diet soda. Syrup, a diet soda. I will say the diet soda is worse. Boys. Thank you. That's the fruit, canned in syrup is the worst. Yeah. And they give us any kids, like young kid of corn age. Remember that? Remember that? That Del Monte used to pop the can of it open and just like, oh, hey, your mom's giving it to you like, oh, here, have this. We're healthy today. You might as well give you a cigarette, you know. Hey, here, have a cigarette while you're doing the, ooh, I usually like cigarettes after spicy food. Yeah, exactly. We'll get to it. We'll get to a nice American cigarette conversation in the news down here in a few minutes. Number one, that's the worst thing you can eat, canned fruit, canned in syrup. That's the worst. That's worse than whatever. Dawson's eating out of Mrs. Baird's grab some mystery. That was that was one verse four. That was one verse four right there. Okay. So diet soda is not good. Alright. Dawson. Yeah. Low fat peanut butter or salami. Oh, God. I'm going to say, uh, salami too many preservatives. How about you? They're Lucius low fat peanut butter or salami low fat peanut butter. Chief done. What is more unhealthy? Yes. Yeah. I will probably go with the, the process meet there as well. Guys, this was a five verse nine matchup. Okay. Close call. It's a big college football weekend. We're live at the Globe for baseball tonight with the Rangers hosting the A's. They are on the field. Warming up in preparation, a pregame coming up at 6-30, the first pitch, 7 o'clock. This building is buzzing with Kumar Rocker. Excitement's seen a lot of tollos. And they're talking about Rocker and DeGrom for next year. We just got to get a Volde back. We'll talk more Rangers here coming up with Sands before too long. But joining us now from covers.com is a college football expert, Doug Farmer here in the G back nation on your home of the Cowboys. And a good afternoon to you, Doug. How the heck are you? We got you, Doug. Can you hear me, mad dog? Doug, can you hear us? I see him. I see him on the Zoom. Yeah, he's looking. I like his background there. It's a nice, I mean, look how many bobbleheads he's got. He's ready to stream. I mean, is he maybe trying to listen for us in a way that we're not feeding our voices to? Is he listening on Zoom? Can you hear us, Doug? Could you nod your head up and down if you hear us? He's not nodding his head. No, I mean, he's not even blinking twice to let us know that he's in danger. Well, that's a bummer, dude. Let me get his number over. Yeah, let me get you Dougie's number. Should I just say it over the air here? No, I just get it. I've gotten trouble once for that in my first couple of weeks. The legend Tom Bigme was not happy. A lot of great college football matchups. Which one are you most interested and intrigued by this weekend, Brian? My LSU Tigers are playing against USC in Las Vegas. Okay. And the one thing we were not ever going to run away from is one of these potential 50-50 games of losing against a really good team. Yeah. We've done it the last two years against Florida State. We have not yet figured out how to play somebody that we can maybe get off to a good start. So, yeah, I'm intrigued. I was going to ask Doug about he is a Notre Dame grad. I'm intrigued with Texas A&M and Notre Dame. Yeah, it's a big one. Down there in college station. I think that's a really good match up. A lot of people excited about that. A lot of LSU folks here in town, Brian, how's the team looking overall? Yeah, I'll tell you what, though. Doug Nussmeyer is the quarterback, though. His dad was Doug Nussmeyer, the kid. But I tell you what, excitement about that because you're trying to replace the Heisman Trophy winner here. And are you good enough? I mean, skill positions are fine. The offensive line should be fine. The defense is always the question with LSU. Oh, you, a 43-point favorite. It seems tonight at six o'clock. Boomer sooner, excited about everything going on. They are, of course, Clemson and Georgia. That's a good one, too. That'll be a really, you know, Georgia's favorite in this one. I think double digit favors. Clemson might be a little bit down is what people might think about Clemson. Well, they were the one team. Like, Dabo is anti-transfer portal. So, they didn't add any talent from that standpoint. I believe we have Doug. Yeah, he does, of course. Covers.com. Joining us now here in the Jeep Bag Nation. Doug, how the heck are you? I'm doing pretty well. We've got a full day of college football ahead of us. How could that not be? Yeah, which game are you most looking forward to? Oh, come on. You don't pick your favorite child. Let's love them all. But I do see some of these. And I think there are games like Boise State, Georgia, Southern. And to me, we're going to learn so much about the group of five race in that. There are that kind of game all across the board. Even though the ho-hum wants to me, they can inform us on this season. Well, Doug, you're a Notre Dame grad. I'm surprised you didn't jump in there and talk about this trip. You're about to make a college station. I might have gone there, but I don't even worry about them all that often anymore. I do find that game very intriguing. A left tackle injury moved the spread a point and a half. I don't know that that is appropriate, especially for a left tackle who had played in only one game. A bowl game against a depleted Oregon State defense at that. I have been very surprised by that aggressive move based on one injury to an unproven player. Are you buying what Notre Dame is selling this year? And they come in at number seven in the country. Do you believe they actually have what it takes to be legit? And it is Riley Leonard, a real quarterback. Do they need to have what it takes to be legit with this schedule? I know that's not the most fun or the sexiest way to talk about a football team. But with this schedule, they've got all the time in the world to prove what they're selling. I do think Riley Leonard is the real deal. His Duke tenure was underappreciated because he was so injured. He was the last 18 healthy games. He accounted for 40 touchdowns, 23 passing, 17 rushing. He is a full-blown quarterback. And in a Mike Denbrock offense, they're going to utilize his legs. And I think that's going to open up an offense in a way. We haven't seen from Notre Dame in quite some time. Doug, that comment took me back, though. I'm not used to golden domers fading their concern for the team. They seem to always be obsessed. How do you explain that? First of all, I might have gone there, but I'm not the fan that many are. I just know it too well. And second of all, I'm seeing the value. It's not even optimism. It's just the value. With this schedule, Notre Dame, we saw Florida State last week. That was supposed to be the only other game that Notre Dame was worried about. And with what we saw from the Seminoles and the offensive defensive lines, Notre Dame is going to worry still worry, of course, but worry less about it. This schedule sets up for Notre Dame to enjoy itself. Doug, where are you? Okay. Handy Captain, the University of Texas. They're a sorbet into the SEC. How do you think that they will fare as they make this journey? I think they are one of the three or four most talented rosters in the country. And so that, of course, helps you out. Now the SEC, it becomes such a grind. You've got so much ahead of you to worry about that having that good of a roster isn't always good enough. That said, they got a better draw than their big 12 to SEC counterpart. Oklahoma really took the rough end of that schedule. Texas, yeah, they've got to go to Arkansas. Yeah, they've visited Kentucky. Yeah, they have to go to A&M. That's the close of the season. But they're better than all those teams. I will be surprised if Texas is not rematched against Georgia in the SEC championship game. Ooh, I like that. I like that a lot. Dougfarmercovers.com with us here in the GBAG Nation. Big 10 side of things. Are you as high on Oregon as everybody seems to be? I am not in that I am higher on Ohio State. I think Ohio State wins the big 10. I think Ohio State wins the National Championship. So that tells you that, well, I think Oregon's really good. I said there are three or four rosters that are separated from the rest of the country. Oregon's one of them. But I think Ohio State is that much better that that alone means I am not as high on Oregon as most people. I am always enjoying Oregon football in the Dan Lanning era. He's a man after my own heart the way he approaches fourth downs. That kind of aggressive play calling will always make me hope for you. I just don't know that it's going to work out against the Ohio State defense. It's Dougfarmer and it's hard to get as high as those folks out there in Oregon. You know, when it comes to their level of passion. Are you talking about football or something else? We're talking black tar on that one. Hey, will the expanded playoffs make this whole thing even better? Will it dilute the big impacts of the Saturday match ups? How's this whole thing going to play out? If you say there's only four teams that stand above, why do we need these other ones? Well, we saw why we need these other ones. We saw it last year. If you go unbeaten in college football, you're supposed to get a chance in the National Championship. But we've always known that only half the country can actually believe that. But Florida State was in that half of the country. Florida State was a power five team, went undefeated and got left out. That is why we need the expanded playoff. Is it going to make the whole thing better? I'm very staunchly feeling yes. I started out talking about this Boise State game this weekend where there are two touched-out favorites. I'm curious to see if they try to throw the ball at all. Or if the quarterback decision was foreshadowing, they're just going to hand the ball off to Ash and Jean T. All season which lowers their ceiling and that is a playoff factor now. The fact that I can have a worry about a Boise State offense and it genuinely means something to the playoffs, how can you not find that more fun? Doug, I'm curious. When you start very bullish on Ohio State, so you must think that Will Howard can carry this thing the entire season. What's giving you that thought? Well, first of all, he doesn't need to. He has the skill position players around, I think my analogy for Will Howard has been. He gets to be the celebrity chef standing at the pass on the kitchen. All his line cooks are doing the work. He just has to arrange the ingredients. With his skill position players, he doesn't have to do a whole lot. He just has to get the ball out and he's got time to get up to speed. Their first month, I call it Michigan Act because the last few years we've all seen the September schedules from Michigan, frankly, they make the conference USA schedules look tough. Ohio State has one of those this year. He's got four weeks to get up to speed before Iowa, and Iowa's kind of a nice tune up before Oregon. I think Will Howard will be fully up to speed by them, and that Ohio State defense, that's really for me why I'm so high on them. It's not 2021 Georgia asked because nothing is, but that's the only thing that can really compare it to. They return 90% to starters and they add Caleb Downs and the 11th starter is a veteran middle linebacker. How much better can life get? Doug Farmer covers dot com here in the nation. We got a Sunday night LSU USC SEC Big Ten matchup, one of the classics. What do you what do you got in this one Doug? How good can either one of these two teams be this year? I spent the last two hours working on this game, and I have come away with this. This bread should be closer to six. It's LSU by four or four and a half. It should be closer to six. LSU is just a little bit better on both sides of the ball. LSU Nusbier has more experience winning the, what was that? The Relia quest ball against Wisconsin. That's the kind of thing you want to see from a young quarterback. And now they know they have it. He's got four returning offensive linemen. He's got a couple of skill position players. And yes, USC quality quarterback Lincoln Riley system. It should be great, but they're missing just those pieces of confidence and offense that LSU has. And then on defense, I'll believe in the USC defense the first time it shows up. The USC defense to me is the same as I was offense. The day we see it, I'll believe. Until then, I refuse to grant it any credit. I refuse to give Lincoln Riley that deference. Those edges on both sides of the ball tilt just enough to LSU that I think they compound. And it should be a six point spread, not four or four and a half. Is that one of your best plays of the week then? It is in part only. It is. It probably would be no matter what. But when you've got a Sunday standalone game like that, you've got to find your position on it. You can't just sit back and watch. What are we doing here? Okay. How about Miami and Florida? I, uh, there are ever so often you can see the two cars barely net each other down the road. And it's too late for you to stop them. So you just pull out your lawn chair, crack open a beer and see how it goes. I am not touching that game. I want to just enjoy the spectacle because no matter who loses that game, it is going to be a catastrophe for the program. That, that game is, there is no version of that game where both programs walk away feeling, you know, things are okay. One of those programs is going to go down into a meltdown mode Saturday night. And I'm, I'm concerned to sit there and open a beer and watch those cars crash into each other. Travis Hunter for Heisman? Uh, can he win more than five games? I don't, I know you don't believe you can. You need, you need North Dakota State to make some questionable coaching decisions to get by North Dakota State. I, Travis Hunter is underappreciated. What Travis Hunter is doing should be talked about ad nauseum. The Heisman is not going to go to a team that is five and seven. It's, it's that simple. And five and seven might be optimistic. They might be four and eight. It's that simple. It's not Travis Hunter's fault. They have no offense to the defensive lines, but it's still a truth. The line that I keep going back to is Deanna was very proud to tell everybody. He was bringing in that Louie. What do they have on the off of the defensive lines? Plastic grocery bags. Hey Doug, you know, you talked about the playoffs. Is there a team that's on the outside that you're really kind of bullish on that can maybe make a run to get into the top 12 that we're not thinking about. Maybe outside the top 25. Outside the top 25 might be a bit of an ask. And I need to pull that up to make sure I haven't memorized the AP top 25. I don't worry about the AP top 25. The name I wanted to say is ranked number 12. I believe pretty strongly in Utah and the added aspect with the college football playoffs, look at teams like Utah and realize well if they win the big 12, which is an if, they're already in the quarterfinals. They will presumably be better or evenly matched. So you have a team that in this conversation, let's say, is a 50/50 chance of advancing out of the quarterfinals. That right there is always something to think about from an odds perspective. It's like the easy bracket in March Madness. Whenever you see somebody in that easier regional, their title odds should shift. I think the conference champion aspect of the playoff creates a similar dynamic and you need to try to highlight the underappreciated team who could win their conference. To me, that is Utah. And very high on Utah compared to the world. And even in the national title picture because they will have that entrance into the quarterfinal if my big 12 believes are rewarded. You're the man, Doug. Enjoy your college football weekend. Thank you so much. Hey, we're just getting started. We've got 14 of these. We're going to enjoy each one of them. Let's go. I used to have a great bobblehead collection. So if you're a tollo and you're entering the premises at any point in the next hour, what's left of our show before we hand it off to Jared Sandley. You want this Corey Seager bobblehead, you just come up and ask me for it. Wow. Man of the people. No code word, no secret safe word that they need to say so that you know it's just hey, just come over here and ask for it. Just give me the high sign. You want the silver slugger Corey Seager bobblehead. I don't blame you. It's not Ranger ever as Eric Nadell joins us now, brought to you by Tylock George. I care. And how the heck you doing tonight, Eric? I'm doing great, Kevin. Now, what if the Corey Seager bobblehead was Corey holding his dog like they did with the Otani bobblehead in LA? Would that interest you? Man, that might be too cool to pass up. I don't know. The silver slugger bat is pretty nice. If there's a bobblehead to covet, this is probably already the one. How's your bobblehead collection looking these days, Eric? Well, we did a major decluttering during the pandemic and that reduced my bobblehead collection by about 90%. We actually had a really good collection in the booth at the old ballpark. Yeah. And before we moved over to the new ballpark, we decided we would just start a whole new collection in the new ballpark. So we invited people to just come and take the bobbleheads from the booth at the old ballpark. So I have some very unique bobbleheads. I don't have that many. I'm very proud of a satchel page bobblehead that I have. I have a bobblehead of Eddie Goodell, who is the St. Louis Browns player who was three feet tall or whatever it was to build back years as a pinch hitter. I have a bobblehead of Nolan Ryan sliding into home plate in a rainbow colored Astros uniform, but I don't have any of these standard bobbleheads. I only keep the ones that are really odd. Hey, Eric. Okay. A's are in town. What's your favorite A's uniform combination? Oh, I really like the yellow top. You know, they call it gold. To me, it's yellow. I like the yellow top with the white pants. I do like their home uniforms. You know, they're white, white uniforms with no hiking down the sides at all. Really clean, you know, with athletics across the front. You know, I love their uniforms. And, you know, I'm really curious to see if they change it when they go to Sacramento because, you know, they're not going to use the... They're not going to use the name Sacramento. Sure. So on their gray road uniforms, it's not going to stay open, but will they even have gray road uniforms? Or will they just use, you know, a green one and a gold one? Or, you know, I don't think they're going to change their colors. I think that would be insane. But I love their uniforms. I think they're among the very best. I'll tell you what, I used to when I was a kid growing up in the '70s, I thought they were the coolest things in the world. With the green, with the stirrups, and then the sanitary hose that were gold or yellow, I thought those were so, so cool. The elephant on the sleeve, what is that for? I should have probably looked it up, but what's the elephant for? It goes way back to the early 1900s when the A's were referred to when there were two rival leagues. The American League was new, and somebody in the National League, I know it was John McGraw, or somebody referred to the A's as a white elephant. Oh. And the owner of the team, I think it was Connie Mack, as a way of basically goofing on John McGraw, decided that he would make the elephant the mascot of the A's. OK. And so he put the elephant on the baseball on their uniforms as a way of basically answering the charge that the A's were a white elephant. I don't know today how far back it goes, over 100 years. Wow. Fantastic. Baseball, Historian, and... Hall of Famer. Hall of Famer. Yeah. Baseball, Super Beast. I mean, you've been doing this a long time, Eric, so maybe you've... Yeah, I don't remember that, by the way. I don't remember that happening. Well, I mean, over the years, maybe you've become numb to it a little bit, but when you see a guy like Janko get put on waivers, I mean, do you feel that emotional tie to him the same way we all do? Yeah, I certainly do. You know, I love him. You know, when I came back last year, after missing the first half of the season, you know, he was one of the guys who was just incredibly nice to me. I'd never met him before. You know, here I'm walking it in the middle of the season, and you know, he was really great to me, you know, as I was going around meeting the guys who I didn't know. And, you know, I talk to him a lot. I love his energy. You know, when I asked him the other day, the day after the catch, when I asked him, you know, if he had watched the Gary Matthews catch and his, and he said, "Yes." And I said, "Well, you know, we think that your catch might have been harder because you had to reach out into the bullpen to snag the ball where Matthews just had to reach straight up over his head." And Jakowski said, "Yeah, Gary's catch was much harder." He said, "What he had to do with his body, the way he had to maneuver his body to reach up and catch that ball," he said, "I couldn't have made that catch." He said, "I'm not as limber or athletic as Gary. I could not have made that catch," which really surprised me. And, you know, he's a really humble guy, and I don't think it was him just being humble. I think he was, you know, being totally honest, but that kind of set us straight on which was the harder catch. Obviously, the game situation makes the Jakowski catch a more important catch, but in terms of the actual physical mechanics of the catch, he convinced me that Matthews catch was harder. Both tens out of ten if you ask me, Eric, but I must ask you here on a Friday what you drinking and what you thinking. Well, what I'm thinking is there were a couple of my favorite local artists who released records this week, singles this week, and I urge people to check him out. One is Garrett Owen, and another is Jackson Scribner, and Jackson's been a favorite of mine for a few years. He's done a couple of shows for me, and he's actually playing a show tonight in McKinney for the folks up there looking for something to do tonight. At eight o'clock, he's playing at Red Zeppelin Records in McKinney. He's a tremendous local talent. He's about to head off to Europe on a tour, but a chance to see him tonight at Red Zeppelin Records. If you're up in the McKinney area, check it out. Great name. Well, thank you, sir. Yeah. Drinking, I'm just drinking water today. It's a day off for me, and I'm trying to stay healthy. There you go, buddy. Well, live it up. Have a great weekend, and we'll catch you up with you next Friday. Thanks, guys. There he goes. Hall of Fame voice of your Texas Rangers, Eric Nadell with you Fridays here in the Jeep Bag Nation. It is time now for a little bit of what you drinking and what you thinking at eight, seven, seven, eight, eight, one, one, five, three. Load up the phone calls, and we'll get you on here in just a second. After we talk about what we have been drinking and thinking throughout the day, throughout the week, you know? Currently, I'm drinking a 20-ounce Diet Coke. Second one of the days, salute to the Rangers PR staff for delivering me a separate 12-ounce Diet Coke, which I did crush as well. Here's what I'm thinking. I don't know how good the Cowboys are going to be, but what we need is the Mavs to be good from the jump. We don't need coasting through a regular season for five months. The Metroplex needs something to get excited about. I think the Stars can do this as well, but you know, we're about to hit September and the next thing. You know, it's going to be October 20th, and we're going to be looking at opening night in both basketball and hockey. I don't think Luca has historically taken the regular season very seriously, but he needs to in order to win the MVP. And now he's got this freaking loaded roster with veteran leadership that might keep him a little bit more accountable. So, I think this is the year where you have that incredibly hot start that has Mavs fans burning with excitement from the word go of the regular season. Man, that would be a lot of fun. It'd be a lot of fun. If you can, like, you start in stride with the Clay Thompson move feeling like a good move, the Naji Marshall move feeling like a good move. I mean, is he going to come in here in shape, Luca, and be taking this stuff super seriously? I mean, my goodness, that would be wonderful, and that'll really get you excited off of what they just did. You know what we never got from this Rangers championship was ever the feeling in a regular season that where the cats me out, where the cock of the walk, nobody can touch us. It was an incredibly disappointing final two months, followed by the greatest month run, and then back to mediocre. You know, and that feeling that sustains months and years should be a part of your sports experience. But, you know, we haven't felt that. We haven't felt that about the Mavs. Made the conference finals, then the finals, but both years, they're just like, yeah. And your experience as a fan throughout that regular season is significantly less exciting. What are you drinking, and what are you thinking, Chief? I am still drinking some Dasani water right here at Globe Live Field. I can't help but be thinking about Kenny right now, and I know we all are. Everybody listening right now, but certainly thinking about Kenny, and also thinking about what happened last night. I've been wondering what's been going on with this kid. I'll never forget the local legend at Duncanville. He played quarterback Jaquinden Jackson, and many people will remember that name. An absolute monster at the position. He's bounced around in college now a little bit, but he's physically just as impressive as it gets. He's at Arkansas now, and they were playing Arkansas behind Bluff last night. So I know it's not a, and they just mop the floor with him. But he went eight carries for 101 yards and two touchdowns. He's playing running back now. And oh my gosh, because he was an incredible dual threat quarterback in high school, and at Duncanville, and they're winning state championships and all this stuff. And watching him in person, it felt like a Cam Newton type domination of just like, give this dude the ball and let him single-handedly go when it matters most. Just score a touchdown for his team in a state title game. It's the type of dude that I'm like, where did he go? He's bounced around. Well, now he's running back. He's changed positions, and he freaking dominated last night. Nice dude. I love it. Brian, what you drinking, what you thinking? Yeah, I did have a bottle of water with my meow drops in it. So, you know, I was trying my best to kind of turn up, turn up, hydrate a little bit. I just saw something I never thought I would see. I saw a $60 million baseball team take infield. When you look at their payroll, that's a $60 million. All their players out there, $60 million total. And what we see nowadays with Shohei Otani making $70 million a year. Yeah. You're at 240, just the price of trying to content. It is amazing that, yeah, these guys, they're like, there is no in this context. For context, the Rangers were at 55 in 2010, the first time they made the World Series, and they were low. They were bottomed. They were bottomed. I never thought I would see a team that was at a $60 million payroll, but they're ahead of the Angels right now. Yeah. So, you know, they didn't say what you want about that, but in this day and age, I thought I would never see that. I would never see that, but here we are today. Back to the Pimp Cup. We go. Lushas, Alex, Andrew, screaming up those phone calls. Do you have a second to say? Try to get my Kenny on real quick. All right. Pete Kenny, dog. This is your time to shine. Oh. It's a loop. Drinking. I've had a gallon of water today. I sure did. Had to hold them gallon. There you go. Yeah. And I'm thinking I was tagged in this little list right here. And I'm thinking this list is completely unserious. Dawson and Mr. Brodus, I need you to help him, but hit this list on real quick. It's called Best Food in America. Somebody tagged me in this tolo pizza, chocolate chip cookies. Best food places in America. I guess it got by state. Number six is New Orleans. Number six is New Orleans. That's hard to believe. It's kind of crazy. Number five is Texas. I think it's number two at least. Number four is New York. Yeah. Good place to go find a restaurant. Now here's where it starts to get a little crazy. Main is number three. Oh, they must like the crabs. Is that what that is? The lobsters. It's going to be the shellfish and stuff up there. Seattle is number two. Seattle. Chinese food though. Good, great Asian cuisine. Yeah. Okay. And number one was Portland. Dawson. Some great restaurants there. Really? There's nothing else to do. Yeah. Really? A lot of good artisans and stuff doing their things. I've never eaten in Portland, but I have in New Orleans a bunch. And for them, at seven, I would have put them probably somewhere in the top three. The vibe of like New Orleans in Portland, not dissimilar. The smells. Yeah. You know. The live music. You know, I think there are quite a few similarities. It's time now to go out to your phone calls at eight, seven, seven, eight, eight, one, one, oh five, three and Lucius, where are we going first? Of first and what you drinking and what you thinking is Mr. Rodeo Rhine. Rodeo Rhine. What you drinking? What you thinking, sir? Oh, come on, Rodeo. Ronnie, I'm going to put you on a whole rodeo. Hey, Ron. I thought he was about to do something special there. Tim and Carthage in the building. No, Tim. What are you drinking? What are you thinking, sir? Hey, thanks. Hey, Gavin. Brian, Eric. Zach, I hope you're listening today because this one needs to be shared with everybody. I don't know if I can do Kenny Justice, but I'm drinking a margarita with two shots of Rodeo Quela, and I'll tell you right now, Kenny is a legends legend. We all might be legends some way or somehow. Rodeo, Ron, Polo, Black and Gold, and Big Jim, and even Tim and Carthage. But nobody's as big as legend as Kenny from Quinlan. And Kenny, I only do him for a couple of years. He's a kind man. Can't wait to see him well. Yeah, just give him a car. We'll leave the light on for you. Cheers, Tim. Thanks, Tim. Yeah, and sums it up well. Salute to you, sir. I know a lot of, a lot of TOLOs, a lot of legends torn up, you know, by the news that we got last week, and this is our first what you drinking and what you thinking. It's emotional evening here on 105 through the fan. Who's next, Lucius? All right, let's try this. And again, Rodeo, Ron, what are you drinking? What are you thinking, sir? I'm drinking that Jim Bean, and I'm thinking about a legend. Not just any legend, but a legend I got to call a friend. A legend that knows his sports. A legend that was funny as hell. A legend that was a father. And I'm talking about a legend with two hockey playing grandson. I'm talking about that frozen Keith's main dog, Margarita, with two such a fucking roasted keto. I know you're still rocking a road in heaven. We will meet again and remember during our drinking rugby road to Keelis or Jim Bean, listen to 105, he's a fan, remembering a true total legend. What an ask you man, baby. Amen, Ron. Two for two boys. So awesome, he really nailed that, dude. 100% for the exam. You're not drinking rock girls, Keelis, and Jim Bean makes together. All blended up. Oh man, we have another one right here. Clint, Clint is Kenny's son-in-law, and he's in what you're drinking and what you're thinking. What are you thinking, Clint? What are you doing? Hey, I'm just over here at the castle with Tuzi, his wonderful daughter, drinking on some ice-cold peach sweet tea and two shots of that rockin' road to Keelis. Thank you. Gentlemen, just wanted to let y'all know that y'all are real special to us, and I appreciate y'all for giving me his life. You know, some people deserve that, and sorry, I'm going to pull it together in a second. Hey, y'all had his time where he was the man, and for y'all to do that, not only for him, but for every one of us, it helps us get through these times of difficulty. And I just want to give a huge shout-out to the boys laying in the max and forwards who just kicked some butt this weekend playing some hockey, winning their first two juggling games. Nice. And also, you know, just wanted to give a huge shout-out to Tuzi and Tuzi, his son and daughter, and you know, they're very special people, and he did right by raising them. But I just want to just thank everybody for helping us through this beautiful time, supporting us with Kenny, and you know what, guys? I know for a fact, he's up there watching this, listening to this radio, and y'all make us all proud, and we appreciate you taking the time out of your day. So we love y'all, and I'm going to take a shot to y'all right now. And y'all enjoy y'all's Friday, and have a good holiday weekend. Salute. Same to you. Cheers, brother. Great phone call. Thank you for sharing. Wow. Kenny's son-in-law, the husband of his daughter, Tuzi. Man, what he would often talk about. His limited fake, Kenny, with the wasa. Well, yeah. That was on point. Wow. Got to send a chill down with Spine a little bit. That was awesome. And that opens the line at 877-881-105-3. Shout-out to Cody as well. Must be a difficult week there. Lost his father. Who's next, Lucius? Polo and Garland. What are you drinking? What are you thinking? Big Polo. Wow. Man, I'm going to tell y'all like this, y'all. Okay. Y'all may not be celebrities, but me, Kenny, rodeo, Ron. All of us just can't wait to party. Just call y'all at 5-20. All of us look at our phones like, I don't care why I think it's allowed on top to us, our girlfriend. We just want to talk about sports for this couple of minutes. I want y'all to give Kenny just two seconds of silence if y'all can't for a stick. The dude was a real dude. I've never met him before, but he just seemed like just a genuine dude. And Gavin, I'm not drinking anything yet, y'all, because I was in the club driving and hitting me. Because I'm like, man, I just had a heart attack. Two months ago, I could have died. My dog on a self. And life is so precious out here, y'all. Y'all got kids, grandkids. Go ahead of them tonight, let 'em know that y'all love 'em. And Gavin, you don't only do beside Mike Bassett, that they own this radio station that's how best about Jim and Jones. Talk about best about Chris Joel and Wade. Right there you go. I don't care if they're the boss. And they got contracts with the station, produced, toured. Gavin, I looked to you real, man. You don't care, Joel, but you ain't expecting no money. You don't call me Daddy at work, boy. What's your working relationship? Is he going to call you Dad at practice in the locker room? No, we already laid that down. No, we already laid down. We already laid that down. You cannot call me Dad in the workplace. All right. Once we leave out of the private facility and the gates close, I can be Dad again in the car. If we ride together at home, I can be Dad. No, he got to call me like two, three, or Brian. Okay. Two or three. You know, go if you want to. It's up to him. I mean, it's up to him. Oh, but it's easy for me. It's easy for me because I've been calling him Brian for so long. It's not like I've been calling his son, his son. Like, so it's easy for me. It's going to be the adjustment for him. But we cannot be running down the court. And he'd be like, Dad, please. I'm going to call him Dad. Come on, Dad. That's great. I hope that Mike's pick up at least a dad, at least one or two times during this season. Didn't he have to correct himself? Maybe, you know what I mean? But I got to hear a dad, at least one or two times. Let's see what else we got, man. Damn. Look at that time. Well, you guys be safe out here. Like I said, don't crash out. It is our number five of the GBAG Nation on 1053. The fan we are heading now to Rangers pregame coming up at $630. Sans is going to join us coming up in about 10 minutes or so. And we have time in here for some around the basis that is brought to you by Uber Eats. I think the biggest thing cooking right now with this team is the ultimate litmus test for how committed ownership is going to be and what you end up doing with a Valdi and the payroll. It's a couple of extra million dollars a year in taxes what the Rangers are looking at right now. If you don't bring back a Valdi, you're going to have to skimp somewhere else. And if you're a Valdi, either you're not getting welcome back because you're what they're going to skimp on, or you're watching them skimp on other important pieces. Whether that's another bad or a bullpen or what have you. And I just think you cannot overstate really how important this is that we continue to see financial commitment from ownership to take advantage of what's left in Seager and Simeon's prime. Yeah, I'm actually going to take this a step further. I think there's something more important than what you just said. That's getting see wise contract taken care of. No question. I don't think anything, any decision about a Valdi or tax or any of that stuff is as important as it is. If you don't have a competent general manager, a guy that is, you know, he's not, he's battle tested now because he's won a championship and he's gone through a ton of adversity. Yeah. So he has a better idea of like how to handle things I think. But we could talk about all these things with Ray Davis and stuff and I totally, I'm buying what you're saying. But if that general manager's gone, I don't know if we'll ever, if that, I think see wise, the one guy that can maybe get Ray Davis to do, you know, to go through the tax and all that stuff. I don't know if another general manager could. Man, I think that's, that's a hundred percent well said and I think it's a, it's a great take and I was looking at the Valdi move as being a huge one. But you're right, the initial move of what's the status of CY and if CY is not coming back here, that tells you that he's not confident that they're all in to win. Yeah. Because of course they're down to have CY back, but he may not want them if he doesn't get the feeling that they're still wanting to have the championship expectations. And so, and, and if CY is not here, then you know of all, a guy like an Valdi won't be here as well. I mean, the ripple effect, I mean, that would, that move right there of CY not being here would, would be, I mean, it would it would suck the life out of the fan base and out of the club house in a huge way. You're going to lose Boce probably. That's what I would say. That's the ripple effect might be. It's insane. I'm not a Valdi is, yeah, that's tough. You tell me I'm going to lose my World Series winning skipper. And with the possibility of who, like, it could go back to, oh, we'll get a first time, we'll get a first time manager. We went through that with Woody. Yeah. Yeah. We went through the Woody, you know, the team wasn't good enough, but we went through the growing pains of all that. It's tough to get a championship formula with your owner, GM, and manager, or coach. You know, and once you have it, it's special. Yeah. You know, it's like the guy that was in Boston, Epstein, that went to Chicago and made them champs for the first time in the century. The guy that was in New York, Cashman, you know, you go on these runs with a manager like Tory, you know, and now maybe the Astros have it, even though they had to turn over some crucial pieces. They managed to keep it on the rails. It is driving me crazy that they're so committed to this, they're spending tons of money and maintaining a championship window for now close to a decade. We got there once. Never really got to do a victory lap. Never really got to walk crotch first through a regular season. Bruce Bochi was asked if he can imagine putting together a winning rotation without a Volde. He says he means so much to this club. I don't know if there's a more respected or focused teammate when it comes to work on and off the field than him. I look at Nathan Evaldi as one of our core guys. You know, you've heard about his leadership. You know, he was six and oh, or the team was six and oh and all of his postseason starts last year on your way to the World Series. If you let him go, I'm going to take that as a clear sign. We're back to being the Rangers that unfortunately we've been familiar with all too often outside of some brief windows of time. And I can't imagine that you could see that opportunity and not want to drive 100 miles an hour through it and give yourself the best chance. But Ray will show his true colors, bought the players to open up the stadium and get fans excited, got a World Series and decided, hey, I'm satisfied now and basically, you know, went back to being miserly, which would be really, really sad. Yeah, that would be a huge blow. I mean, that's the guy that every single put like Bochi's not just saying that when he talks about how respected. Evaldi is like, Evaldi is, I mean, he gets named dropped as a glue guy when he's also like an ace champion for you at the same time. It's like he has both of these qualities where he has tons of respect on the field because he's such a gamer, such a big game competitor who is always rising to the occasion. And so that commands respect, but clearly as a dude and as a leader in that clubhouse, it is, I mean, it is unanimous with the love for him. So that would be huge. Yeah, you ask players and like before you can even finish the question, they're like, oh, Evaldi. Evaldi is the guy that everybody looks to. That's the leader that kind of sets the tone. And it's not just pitchers. You know, oftentimes you'll see like the pitching staff loves their guys. Every single player in that clubhouse is like, of Aldi. Well, every one of those guys in that clubhouse that wear a ring could be thankful for Nathan Evaldi and what he did. And to be fair, to be fair. I mean, if you're ever going to win, if you're going to win one championship, you're going to say, hey, who's the guy that that Nathan Evaldi, I was a, hey, I'm a sloppy guy. I'm player 23 down here on the bench. Yeah. And I got a ring because of him. But you also got it because of Monty. Oh, no. Absolutely. You go for 20 million. There you go. There you go. If this is a repeat performance, I think it'll make a lot of blood boil. You'll obviously hope for the best and hope that they have a counter. It's possible because of how the luxury tax rules work that they just don't want to be repeat taxpayers three years in a row. And maybe after 25, they could come back and spend big money in 2026. But it would just, you know, it's hard to see a leopard changing his spots. And we've heard for a decade how, you know, cheap he can be and how much he wants to cut corners in order to save real dollars. You know, it's really important for him. I can't imagine being a billionaire worrying about hundreds of thousands of dollars. But that's, you know, how a lot of millionaires and billionaires are cut. That's what allows them to be so, you know, budget conscious that they multiply their wealth over the course of their lifetime. So, but it would just suck to have another situation like that in DFW sports. When a handful of big league teams are getting to the top and staying there because of their willingness to write the check. Sorry. Chief, what else do you have here in base this time brought to you by Uber Eats? No, I know we have, we'll get with Jared here in just a minute. But I did see some quotes from Boji about Jack Leiter. He said they could be starting Leiter on Monday, still looking for their starter on Sunday as well. Haven't decided that yet. But just saying that they're trying to get Leiter reps out there against major league hitters. And he said Boji said that they sort of flirted with the idea of Leiter being used in the bullpen come September. So, and I don't know how you guys feel about that. There's a part of me that's like, I think let's, let's try and let's get all the starting opportunities out. Like, let's just, this season's gone. So, I mean, I guess if it's just to find a way to get him in there and get him opportunities out of the bullpen. But I would probably try and maintain him as a starter through September and through the season. And then you have a larger sample size on what you got with this dude. What about pitching him in, in bullpen situations, high leverage just to kind of get him the experience of having to try and get out of trouble. You know, maybe that's what they're thinking about here. It's a different mindset. I would be willing to try it just for the simple fact of maybe that plays better to the intensity he's bringing into the game. bullpen door swings open. Yeah. He's breathing like a ball. He's blowing on his hand. He's here to rock and roll for 10 minutes and then get out of the game. Yeah. That's going to be more appropriate for the big league. Maybe they're trying to build a guy that could be that maybe some toughness, you know, out of that bullpen. That is easy. They, you know, two on bases loaded, you know, no outs. I mean, you know, you, you sink or swim out there. Maybe they're trying to, you know, maybe they're trying to carry him through that. Some of those high leverage situations. It would be telling if they're already willing to give up on him as a starter though, right? Like, wow, especially after having a good year in the minors. He's handling that. I think I would overall be patient with that plan for another year or two before I'm looking to cut bait and make a reliever out of him, but they need bullpen next year. Robertson and Yates are going to be gone as long as we're caused cutting. Yes. And they need some young guys to step up and be ready for that. And if the lighter's not going to be ready as a starter, maybe that works. We'll talk with Jared Sandler about these topics and more coming up next. It's the G back nation on the fan. Jared, how the heck are you tonight? Good evening. What's going on guys? Well, we were just talking about Evaldi. How important is it to have him back next year? Yeah, I think it's definitely important. I wouldn't say that it's a, you know, if they don't have him next year, there's, you know, no chance of winning. But, gosh, wouldn't you like to go into the season with a rotation of DeGrom Malley and Evaldi? You know, that's a pretty stout top three. And then, you know, Jack Lider, Camar Ocker, John Gray, I mean, you know, I don't know who else is going to be in the mix. But, and I just think that Evaldi from a clubhouse standpoint and what he brings as a leader would be, you know, a very tough loss for this team to have to work around if he doesn't come back next year. Is Rocker the fourth guy next year in that rotation? I don't know if he's the fourth guy to start the season, but, you know, I think he could certainly work his way there. And I do think that he's got a great shot to make the team out of camp. I just, you know, do they ease him in? Is he, you know, John Gray's in the rotation? You probably have John Gray as your fourth guy, right? And Cody Bradford, let's not forget about Cody Bradford. I mean, they got, I don't want to say an embarrassment of riches, but they definitely have a lot of depth when it comes to the rotation. Yeah, what do you like, Jack Lider coming out of the bullpen a little bit? I heard Boji flirting with the idea perhaps for the month of September. Do you like that? I mean, what's your thoughts there? Yeah, I mean, if they feel like they need to manage his innings and that makes sense, I personally would like to see him start. I think, you know, the more opportunities he gets as a starter, the more he can kind of, you know, ease his way in. And I don't know if it's nerves or rust or, you know, however you want to characterize it, but just get more comfortable to, you know, start big league games and face big league lineups. So now I'm not sitting here telling you that he might not end up as a reliever long term. You know, I think that's still to be seen. He's got to figure out, you know, how to best navigate a lineup multiple times, but I definitely think that, you know, if it's up to me right now, unless you're trying to limit the innings, I'd like to see him start. Jared, I kind of thought maybe they would try and put him in some high leverage situations to see if he can work his way out of things. Yeah, I think, I don't know, if you're going to move into the bullpen, then you've got to move into the bullpen for the rest of the year. I think the last thing you want to do to a kid is, you know, bounce him back, right? So if they make that decision, then yeah, why not put him in high leverage spots? I mean, it's not like, you know, at this point, you're really, you know, fighting tooth and nail for a playoff spot. Now, that doesn't mean you've displaced Kirby AIDS or David Robertson, but you know, they're high leverage spots outside of the eighth and ninth innings. But, you know, again, personally, I want this guy to start until I know for sure he can't start. And, you know, this is a low leverage final month. It's a great for me. It's a great opportunity for him to get that work. Unless again, like I said, unless they feel like they want to limit the innings just to protect him going into next year. Can you get a secret to sign my bobble head for me? We can work on it. Sounds good. That was a yes to me. Jared, have a great weekend. We'll catch you up with you soon.
