live on SCN track. Welcome to breakfast with the Kiwis. Kickstart your day of racing. Have breakfast with the Kiwis. Head to Love Racing. Depends it. Good morning. Welcome to breakfast with the Kiwis. Great to be with you ahead of another big weekend of racing as the weather's warming up now around this part of the world and things are getting exciting. It's butch castles alongside myself, Jordan Canellis this morning. Butch, how are you? Yeah, I'm good. Thanks. Looking forward to racing action, how we're at and tower on now this weekend. So yeah, it's the sort of low before the storm next weekend. The Liverpool Classic Group one has been a tumultuous week in New Zealand racing with races being repositioned and re-jigged. But we're getting there. Excellent. Excellent. Two guests coming up on the programme today. Justin Evans will be with us a little later on. But first up, it's our pleasure to welcome in George Simon to the programme. George, how are you? Very well, boys. Yeah. Nice to be joining you guys and looking forward to the weekend racing. It's been a Topsy TV week as Butch has just alluded to with race meetings being abandoned and everything else or the re-jigging of the programme as well. But we look forward to Todd Onga tomorrow. It may be spring, but it's a heavy team track already for Todd Onga tomorrow. And I know that there is rain forecast. So hopefully the weather plays its part and we can get through the day of quite a busy 10 race programme tomorrow, Butch. Yeah, very busy 10 race programme. George, keep you on your toes, mind you, I reckon I could call the first is one out of a five horse race already. So only four of them to scurry around in the two year olds. Let's go to race four. I thought this was a really good race with some progressive horses. The likes of Livid Sky, who last raced in the Oaks and her three year old year. Mars was good trialing recently, Cornelius got ability. Mezzocato one well fresh out. I thought it was a really tough race. It is a tough race. And there's a number of those types of races there tomorrow at Todd Onga as well. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the return on race day of number eight Mars, trained by Ben and Ryan Foote for the Tra Lorni team in form. Jockey ex-pet Australian, of course, Matt Cartwright does the riding. And as you say, she did pile up nicely the other day. I think she'll be forward enough. Just a heavy team track may find a fresh up over 1300 metres, but she's got any amount of ability as she showed towards the latter part of her campaign last time in. I think she's the one to beat in the race. You mentioned Livid Sky, another one that has shown ability as well. Also in the race with a chance, I think it's never been dazzled. She put up a couple of very good performances last campaign, winning like a really good horse in the making. And she's only been sparingly raced. The race isn't the famous, printed in Joe Lindsay colours of Cambridge, but she'll be quite looking forward to seeing both her dazzled and Mars return to the track tomorrow. Yeah, for sure. Good race. Race five is the ultimate Mazda three-year-old. Look, a couple of good fillies here, archaic smile and renovations. They've got a good form behind the best of our fillies, which should see them pretty competitive here. Yeah, I do. I do like both of them too. Renovations is a fully by our trust and that's always shown ability. She's been well handled and patiently handled too by Cody Cole with Craig Grills up. I expect with the benefit of their recent fresh out run to be right on the ball tomorrow. I think she'll be hard to beat number four renovations. Archaic smile has had the benefit of a couple of races leading up to this as well. So we'll have fitness on her side. This is a very interesting runner in the race. Two butcher number five, flash effect, scored on-day boot. That was on the Cambridge synthetic track, but one in the manner that suggests it's got a fair bit of ability too. So in ice race, don't discount number one, Magna Star, but yeah, Renovations is the one that I'll be probably aim for tomorrow in the race number five. Something that you and I both try and avoid to be fair. The race sat number six. I didn't feel like this was a pretty competitive race, but didn't my number 13 Rose Town Princess. If you go back and have a look at the run last time, it wasn't the worst in 75 company at Tarapa. Should you get a track to suit? And I thought that it would be pretty competitive. Yeah, this is another tough race to try and sort out and I think one of them that is not the worst chance in the race is number nine, Vistown. See, it was a lovely run resuming. It got a long way back and stormed home and has the very much informed Sam Spracker board tomorrow and I thought Vistown will be hard to beat a second up. It's operated that way previously, but your generally underrated horse normally goes out around about the $10 mark. If it's around those odds tomorrow, I think Vistown will certainly be getting some of mine. Right out race seven. The feature of the team wheel in 1600. This was one of the races. Excuse me, that was reject was meant to be run on wins on Saturday as the Matamata Cup course with Wednesday, the Arrowfield changed it out. And it's a good field. This a really good field group one winners in ladies man. It must mustang Valley at the top. Chadda Hoochie was really good last time behind a horse that will be very competitive in the Liverpool and Snazzy Tevi. I thought it was a really, really good race. It is, yeah, I highlighted, of course, with those two group performers at the top in the Mustang Valley and ladies man have been by virtue of the fact that they are group one winners. They're carrying the 60 kilos tomorrow and I really think that that could count against them in the final analysis. The track specialist is number five Chadda Hoochie. He loves toad on the track and he only has to lump 53 kilos. So he's getting a fair bit of weight relief from those well performed horses at the top of the handicap. And I recommend all sway it towards his favor five Chadda Hoochie. Importantly, Lindsey Savily takes the ride. She knows the horse well. And as I say, he is something of a course specialist. Two stars for two wins on the track. It goes into the race with two runs under his belt. And that last start second behind a very nice horse was a pretty good run too. So I'm tipping five Chadda Hoochie to win the team Whelen's 1,600, race seven tomorrow. Downing the two at the top who are both top class horses, Mustang Valley and ladies man. And both of them will be at home in the conditions as well. Yeah, race eight. There's a horse flying at the moment up this way. And that is Irrigate. She's a man that just brained them two starts ago. She had an interrupted sort of campaign with a 3,200 meter race abandoned at Taranaki. And then repositioned to Waverly. She went down there. Then it was put back a couple of days. So look, she ran second last time at a trip short of her best 2,100. But I think on the form that she's showing of late, she'll be awfully hard to handle. Yeah, I caught up with one of the owners of Irrigate, Derek Collard. At the Cambridge meeting yesterday and spoke to Irrigate's trainer, Cardi Little, as well. And they were both talking about the interrupted campaign that she's had in recent weeks. But importantly, as you say, Andrew, she's been in great nick. And I thought that second place seen at Taranaki for the other day. And a track on a distance there was a little bit too short for her. Really showed how well she's racing. She'll be very, very competitive. But possibly the danger might be number five. That Taranaki, who's in good form as well, is always there or there about to, once again, a Sam Sprach Mount. So that will be certainly to take into consideration. And the second last, the Taranaki crossing fashion in the field. This is a tough way to get some in the Quoddy Hilla Kings. Was a good second in a herd. It'll race last time. So if it's testing, he'll be pretty fit. And Tierra 2 Memphis, with the one run back at Taupo, thought we'll get conditions to suit. Yeah, this is a field job if you're serious. Because it's one of those races, isn't it? I'm going to probably opt for number six. Let's bring the bling. It's record. It's generally there about there or there about. Tristan Moudley will help with the Tuquilay claim. And it can certainly turn it on when the business is on. So if it brings its day game tomorrow, I think let's bring the bling can get the bling. And what is a very difficult leg out of the Quoddy Hilla race? Number nine on the card firing. Thought 10 was a little easier, didn't know you needed too many. But one of them you will need is number 11, Prisca. Look, the form had been great. And then she just came out and absolutely second-rated them at Taupo. They don't win as easy as she did very often. And I thought, no reason why she couldn't take that into rating 65 company that form. Yeah, I agree. I think Danger 2 is the one directly, but it's one on the ballot. But already there's a scratching, so it'll get in. And that is number 12, Navy Chief. It's got a consistent form line. It's been unlucky on a number of occasions, Navy Chief. Matt Catrides picked up the ride. Don't worry about the barrier draw. I don't think barrier draws will be too important, especially later in the day, especially if this forecast rain arrives. But I think that could be Chief. Your right, Prisca was absolutely brilliant last time out in winning at Taupo. They don't often win like that on their track. But it did. And it's got to be a life chance as well. But I thought Navy Chief had a little bit of value. The one directly below it, number 12 on the book. I think that might be the big danger. Good on you, George. We appreciate your time as we pull together breakfast with the Kiwis this week. We're going to catch up with fellow commentator Justin even shortly. But good calling at Tauranga. And I will look forward to seeing you at the reposition. Live 'em all classic at Terrap next week. It's George Simon with us on breakfast with the Kiwis. A pleasure to have him on. And as Butch said, Justin Evans is coming up on the other side of this here on breakfast with the Kiwis on SCN. You're listening to breakfast with the Kiwis. Love Racing.nz. Your home of New Zealand thoroughbred racing news, previews, reviews, profiles, and more. Welcome back to breakfast with the Kiwis. Jordan Canellis with you here as we take a look towards how we're coming up today. And, uh, Justin Evans is with us here on the program to have a look. Justin, welcome. You're going to join us by everybody. Uh, yes, look forward to this meeting. Come on, let's cross to know what we haven't had a lot of luck in this part of New Zealand and the central districts in the last few weeks. We've had a number of events for all sorts of reasons and whether it's played its part. It's looking okay. Soft is probably going to be where we land for this meeting today. And, uh, hopefully none of the, uh, sort of heavy rain that has, uh, sort of interrupted things in the last few weeks. So certainly a rain to feed the track, but, uh, shouldn't be too bad. And looking forward to the meeting with a couple of feature races on the cat. Let's take a look at one of those feature races. Race number six is the Eggmont Cup. What are you liking here at Justin? Look, I think there's a nice each way, but in the race, albeit, it is an open race. As is the other feature that we'll talk about shortly. But can he rocks, I'll throw out as a, so I thought he was probably one of the best each way chances of the day, actually. And he rocked number three. Look, he's a, uh, I can't wait it for last season and he won a Martin Cup. He also made food in the Wellington Cup over two miles, and he was pretty unlikely. I'd imagine he'll be hitting that way again in January as a summer target. Presents really well here. He's fourth up this preparation. He was excellent food stuff. And his last start at Ellisley was good. He got back last in the run and a slowly run race. He did pretty well. I thought it would be only two lengths away at the line and a sprint home. Look, he's got to need a little bit to work out for him. He's drawn wide. He'll get back. Hopefully there's good tempo. He can build into the race. I think he'll run really well on that. That soft track should be difficult for him. So, like him, he's sort of $9 or so, so that looks pretty good to me. I'll trade the one horse the top weight. Gets four kilos off his back. He's the class horse of the race. Look, a little bit of a job there for young Amber Rodale. She's in a pre-disalt the year. He's not an overly easy horse to ride out of. Just because you need to time things right for him, but he's a big chance he ran food in the race last year. But it's very open to fear. Gazz is a local number seven. He'll run well. He can put himself on speed and he's a bit underrated. I think you've got a horse like that who's secret. You'll see all the ones next two. He's won three on the trot. He's going really well. Up a little bit of class for this. Drops about five kilos and weight, so that's a place. Pretty open race, but I thought can he rock number three as a really solid each one chance. And the other one to look at is race eight. So, one of the big ones on the card, the Grange Williams stud breeder's stakes. Take us through this race here and what you like. Yeah, group three race short enough for quite an even bunch of him. He is so, look, there's a number of chances here. Town Cry number one though is where I've landed. She won the race last year. Now, she won beating a very good, all, who are proud west, who made it list. Just will know well, fair west was an odds-on favorite in this race last year. Town Cry was having a lead up. Was able to fiend her off. She was really good and she went on to have a great prep after that in the summer. Group three and group one placed. She's got a horse, Town Cry. She's been a little interrupted with those abandonment. So, I was talking about earlier, but she comes into this and pretty good. And neck, I think, I've seen her at the trial. She's in four trials to prepare. Presents fresh. It's the stage she presented in last year. I think she can win. But as I said, it's a very open group three, but we'll go with her. No rain ever down the bottom there. She is near on the up. She's in the first one. So, yeah, four-year-old me. She was very good as a three-year-old. So, she's another one who's been set back a little, waiting for the races to get underway. But she, yeah, has trialed well. So, look, she's a real chance. That was from Sumi's very consistent number two, just as dramatic as a stakes winner. And every year she's raced. Look, there's chances of pleading, but we'll go Town Cry to win the breeders. And finally, Justin, looking at the rest of the card, anything else you'd like in any of your best for the day? Yeah, I think we'll check out a couple, probably those who like something with a bit of certainty. Maybe the good thing of the day is race three, number one, he's lucid. It was the shortest price to ever the day around that $2 mark. Maybe get tighter. He's a highly talented and a three-year-old. He's been twice-stakes placed in his three run. That big wrap on him, and I think he'll be hard to beat in race three. And I thought rocket roasting at race number five. Very consistent, yeah. Good second, but a strong form race. Good gate. And I know the camp pretty confident with his. So, race five, number five. That'd be my best for the day. Justin, excellent mate. Thank you, go well. And we look forward to watching the races today. Thank you, mate. Thank you very much. Justin Evans with us here on Breakfast with the Kiwis this morning on the program. We'll get the odds update from Jared Teams in just a second. Jared Teams is with us this morning on Breakfast with the Kiwis. Morning, Team Z, where are we looking this week in Randy Zealand? Yeah, morning. Jordan, look, Turunga, looking likely to be racing on a heavy tense. I'm just going to focus on Hawera this week. There is black type racing on the nine race program, of course. But we're going to kick off in race number three here. So far, the best back runner of the day at Ladbrokes, due to step out in this race. Our book is one up with Heath Lucid, a $2.15 fancy earlier in this week. That price was well and truly snapped up. Here's into even money today. And he accounts for around three quarters of the Ladbrokes hold in this race. Race number six is the Edumont Cup contested over the 2100 meters. It's an open one from a betting perspective here at Ladbrokes. Carly Aljay occupying the top line of betting with us. He's a warm favorite, $5 into $4.60 now. Can Herock? Rock solid on the second line of betting it. Real each way holds here as well. Actually, Jordan, a $9 chance. Sir Mickey has been a drifter in the market. $8 out to $9.50. We've seen a little bit of a push for Donnie Brook as well this week. We went up with $13 into $9.50 today. And here's your Ladbrokes market mover. Race number eight is the feature. The group three, Grange Williams, stud breeder's stakes over the 1400 meters. Town prior has certainly had his admirers this week at Ladbrokes. $4.80 into $4.60 to hold that top line of betting. Now, this is dramatic. So far, the best back to knock him off those $6 into $5.50 and rock solid on the second line of betting. There's been a list of sprinkling for a few of them in this market. Though, Wessex has gone $7 into $6.50 a little bit further down the market. If you're looking for something it's huge odds this weekend, Hot could seek about $31 into $26. That's it for me this week. Hunter's good luck as always. Hope you can find a winner. Thank you, Timzy. Timzy there from Ladbrokes. Take on the fun with Ladbrokes and download the Ladbrokes app today.
