Thank you for being here. [APPLAUSE] >> Well, guys, everyone's talking about this. A bombshell filing in former President Trump's election interference case was just unsealed and it accuses Trump of resorting to crimes in an effort to stay in power. I know this is going to sound controversial, but I'm just going to come out and say it. I think Trump might have done something wrong. >> [LAUGH] >> The news of Trump's alleged crimes are being called an October surprise. Well, most Americans are like, we're not that surprised. >> [LAUGH] >> A week. According to the filing, Trump told the staff that he was going to declare victory regardless of the results. Vladimir Putin heard and was like, my little man is growing up. >> [LAUGH] >> Today, when asked about Trump's 2020 election interference, JD Van said I'm focused on the future election interference. >> [LAUGH] >> I might want to talk about the past. Get this, the filing said that in January 6th, when Trump was told that Mike Pence had to be taken to a secure location for his safety, his response was, so what? >> [LAUGH] >> To be honest, I'm more surprised Trump didn't tweet out the secure location. >> [LAUGH] >> $100 finders fee. >> Sniff them out, boys. >> [LAUGH] >> Some more big political news from here in New York City. I heard that prosecutors may bring additional charges against Mayor Eric Adams. Now, I know this is going to be controversial, but I'm just going to come out and say it. I think Mayor Adams might have done something wrong. >> [LAUGH] >> Adams said he's totally innocent on FaceTime from his first-class Turkish airline flight. You guys see this Tesla just recalled 27,000 Cybertrucks due to a rear view camera issue. Customers complain that every time they looked into the camera, they saw someone laughing at them. >> [LAUGH] >> [APPLAUSE] [MUSIC] >> I can't stop that one. We have a great show everybody. Give it up for the room. >> [APPLAUSE] [MUSIC] >> Tonight, he is the lead singer of one of the biggest bands in the world, Coldplay. >> [APPLAUSE] >> Their new album, The Moon Music Is Out Tomorrow! >> [APPLAUSE] >> They're also the musical guests on Saturday Live this weekend. Chris Martin is here tonight. >> [APPLAUSE] >> Come on, my favorite. >> [APPLAUSE] >> Also, he stars in the Netflix show Outer Banks season four, part one, premieres October 10th. Chase Stokes is joining us. >> [APPLAUSE] >> What the? >> Couple of quick mentions before this show. One is I got a chance to watch a film last night is a documentary about friends of mine. It's called Will and Harper, and if you get a chance, you should watch this as soon as you can. It was fascinating. I've known Will Ferrell and Harper Steel since I first started "Saturday Night Live," which was 25 years ago. And this is -- >> [APPLAUSE] >> No, long time. And this was back when Harper was Andrew Steel. >> Right. >> And I remember finding out that Andrew was transitioning, I think, two years ago. I got a phone call from you. >> Yeah. >> And I go, wow. And I really knocked me out. I had never heard anything like that about a friend of mine before. But you said that you talked to her and she's so happy. >> So much happier. >> And I'm happy for her. I didn't know that she was going through all of this when she was Andrew. >> [APPLAUSE] >> And she's one of the funniest humans on Earth. And this movie is a road trip going cross country. Harper and Will Ferrell. It's fascinating. It really just shows you what it's window into maybe what it feels like being a trans woman in today's world. It's emotional. It is scary. It is funny. It's about friendship. It's charming. And it's informative. I think everyone should check this out. Anyway, if you have fun, that's great. That's one thing. The other thing, really quick, I want to mention is I released a new children's book just in time for Halloween. It's available. Wherever books are sold. I'm excited to say this. It's called, yeah. Five more sleeps down Halloween. And I'm excited to say that it debuted at number one on the New York Times bestseller list. Come on. That's what I'm talking about. Thank you all for going out and getting the book and getting kids excited for the holiday pick up a copy. We'll be right back with Triss Martin, everybody. Hey. Our first guest is the lead singer of one of the biggest bands on the planet, Coldplay. Their latest album, Moon Music, will be out tomorrow. And they're also the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. This weekend. Everyone, please welcome Chris Martin. Chris Martin. Hi Jimmy. Hi, Bruce. Hi, Cory. Yeah, it is great to see you. I'm so sorry I'm late. Yeah. We had someone try to cover it for you, but it didn't work. Sorry. Yeah. No problem. It didn't work out that well. But we made sure he saved and he's on his way home. Okay. You covered it? Yeah. I got to cover completely. Yeah, I got to cover it. Coldplay is returning to Saturday Night Live this weekend with Nate Bargetzi. My man. I love you Nate. We first met on Saturday Night Live. I know we did, Jimmy, you know. It was amazing then and it's amazing now. I'm so happy to watch everything happen for you and everything happen to you. You're the one the hardest working most talented people I know. And in fact, this tour, the music of the Spheres World Tour, I just saw somewhere. It's the most attended tour of all time. Most evolved of any tour. That's you. You did that. You did Glastonbury, which is of course one of the giant things you crushed at that. Everyone said, "Oh my gosh, Coldplay was fantastic." But I thought one of the coolest things you did. Michael J. Fox came out and played guitar with you guys. Yeah. Unfix you. That's Michael here. Yeah. Well, I think there are certain things for people your age and my age, which are so imprented on us in terms of what made us dream of doing this job. And one of those things for me is Michael in Back to the Future. Same would be set of Karate Kid Ralph Machioh with the crane. But Michael, it's so trippy to me that we get to play with him because it just feels like being seven and being in heaven. That's what it feels like. Yeah. And you're like, dude, you're really you. And he's one of the coolest things. And of course he's so inspirational as a person. And then he was Marty McFly. And the first time I played with him was at a charity show. And I asked him if we could do the two songs from Back to the Future. And he was so sweet. And in the middle of Earth, Angel. You know, Earth, Angel. Earth, Angel. He was doing this. And with me, he started looking at his hand like it was disappearing. He's the best. I mean, maybe people watching it too young to remember now, but that hand disappearing, you know, it's everything. It's one of the best bits. Oh, that's so cool. He did that. You've been breaking records this whole tour. It was recently announced that you're going to play an unprecedented 10 nights at Wembley Stadium. Yeah, but no people. Yeah, exactly. 10, Wembley Stadium. 10 nights in London next summer. And you did a cool thing. You put up these flyers in the first pub where you guys were first starting out. This is one of your original flyers that you would do. Do you design this? Our guy, our bass player, designed this. And this is our first show. And we were called The Coldplay. We dropped The The. And we kept The Coldplay. Yeah, you kept The Coldplay. It was only our second ever show. And it says, for some reason he put formerly known as Starfish, which we'd been known for one week. Yes. You don't want to lose those fans. You don't want to lose those four fans that saw you last week. Yeah, if you like Starfish, you're going to love us, The Coldplay. And then this was in the late '90s in London, and you would play three or four bands at a show, and it was bring your friends and stuff. And you would share a drum kit with... Oh, sure. ...all the other bands. And the band that we were sharing a drum kit with fell out with the promoter. And they took their drum kit. So our first show as Coldplay, Will was playing the floor. Like that. Was he really? Yeah, for real, yeah. That's the best. See, improvisation. That's what you've got to do. I saw you were on QVC the other day. Yesterday, yeah. QVC. QVC, yeah. Yeah. So how does one of the biggest bands in the world end up on QVC? I love it. Dude, I absolutely love it. I'll tell you. Well, because, you know, when you're doing the rounds of trying to say we have a new record out that we really love, which we do, we're just trying to think of things that we haven't done before, things that we love. So... QVC is on the list. Yeah, it was so fun. And we... It was so fun because we worked with this amazing lady called Jen, and we built this room, and it's full of all these little Easter egg things. And if you look, if you're a Coldplay fan, everywhere you look, there's little teasers and things like that. And it just felt like something we would really easily fail at, so we decided to try it. You were like selling toasters and stuff. Yeah, well, we're selling our album, you see. Yeah, I understand. But I bought a toaster. Everybody knows that, you know, it's hard to appear like salesman when we really wear musicians. So we said, "Well, if we're going to sell our album, we may as well make some toasters and sell them, too." You did something very, very cool. You did do. You did a great job. You also played some songs and took phone calls. Yeah, we took from we played songs and we took phone calls and we designed pendants. Yeah, and you didn't use it about the people calling in and it was really fun? Candy from Florida, yeah. Yeah, exactly. By the way, first of all, gorgeous. This is just beautiful. But it's beautiful in another dimension because you made these vinyls from recycled plastic bottles. Yeah, we did. So I'm happy to see you, man. Thanks for having me. I love you. Well, we made, so this is a long story you can edit. There's a young man in Holland who saw all the plastic waste in the world about ten years ago and invented two machines. One's called the Ocean Cleanup, which is a giant thing attached to a ship. And it goes out to the Pacific Garbage Patch and gathers plastic. And then he also came up with this thing called River Cleanup. And with money from our tour, we bought two boats called Neon Moon One and Neon Moon Two. And they, once in Malaysia, once in Indonesia, and they go along the river and they collect trash. And that record is made from trash. Dude, it's this beautiful thing, this piece of art. Yeah. We've got an imagine twist by Michelle. [music] You know our next guest as John B from the Hit Show Outer Banks Season 4 Part 1 premieres October 10th on Netflix, followed by Part 2 on November 7th. Please welcome Chase Suss! Welcome back to the show. Thank you so much for coming on. Man, you've had a whirlwind couple of months, but it's been a doozy. Yeah, it's a lot of stuff. You were out promoting your film Uglies, which, by the way, premiered number one in Netflix. It did. Not too shabby. Yes. There's number one in the world. Number one's not too bad, huh? It doesn't suck. It doesn't suck. Yeah, it also Outer Banks also giant the first three seasons, number one as well. You just can't stop with these number ones, but... I'm trying to slow down, but it's not really working. No, vacation would be good. Yeah, but you told me that you just hosted some Netflix thing in Brazil. I did. It's called Todum, kind of like the sound Todum. Oh, yeah, it's kind of a fun little. Todum, yeah, Netflix. Yeah, of course. So they did a festival in Brazil, and it was great. I mean, Brazil is such a wild, wild place. They love film and TV down there. I'm not good in there. You should go. Yeah, it's gorgeous, right? I had a fun time. Yeah, are you like hosting, that's it? No, no. Okay, it's arguably the worst person to host anything. I have, like, the worst social anxiety. Hi, world. So, yeah, wouldn't they... That must have been fun. I was like, oh, 15,000 people, cool. How did I get out of this? Yeah, I was like, maybe I just take the wrong flight. I don't know. What did you do? Did you do bits? I did. Okay, so they had me intro Chris Hemsworth, and it was for extraction, and they gave me the script, and I'm sitting backstage with the mic, and I'm like, "Hi, I'm Chris Hemsworth. I'm Thor, God of Thunder." That's not bad. Yeah, I was working on it. That's good. I was in like that? They came up to me and they're like, "Hey, you should stop." And I'm like... They actually said you should stop. Yeah, and I was like, "Why?" And they're like, "Chris, just enter the building, and you're on the loudspeaker." So I ended up talking to him backstage, and he's like, "Hey, the kids love the show, and I could not stop staring at this gorgeous human being." He is a pretty... Yeah, he's in the biceps are insane. Yeah, everything. He's got everything going for him. Yeah, it's pretty incredible. He's jacked. He's so jacked. Yeah. It's like the perfect human specimen. So I go back to the hotel, and I'm thinking, "You know what, jet lag is real. I'm gonna go get a workout." Yeah. He inspired you. He inspired me to get 25-inch biceps. Yes. And so I go into the gym, and guess who's just hanging out in the gym doing... Anything. Chris Hemsworth. Chris Hemsworth. Yeah, okay. Good. Yeah. Can't get away from him. Arnold Schwarzenegger. So... Yeah. Yeah. What? So I walk together. Yeah, just having a bro workout just in Brazil. Just dudes doing dude things in Brazil. I was too much man for me. It's way too much. So I kind of look over, and Chris is like, "Hey man, you want to join in?" And I was like, "Ah, no, no." So do we get out of here. I'm so good. I'm so good. You guys are you. I'm just gonna go do some like yoga, and a little mindful, breathing, meditation. You're going to head to treadmill. Yeah, yeah. You can't sprint it out. Yeah. I'm getting intimidated by everybody. Yeah. So the to-doin festival was really great. Congratulations. Yeah. You'll do it again soon. Absolutely. The last time I saw you, though, you were in a big crowd, you were with your girlfriend, Kelsey Bellarine. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. Look at how beautiful. What a beautiful couple. Can we zoom in on here? I was going to go shirtless that night too, and then I saw you and I didn't want to copy your outfit. Yeah. Last time I was here, you also had a picture of me shirtless, so I think that's it. That's a trend that every time maybe come on, I have to do it. Yeah. No. You look good. I read that somewhere that you guys met. She slid into your DMs. Is this true? Yeah. Yeah, she did. She did? She did. Yeah. She's the bold one. She did. Yeah. Yeah. So she, I was filming a movie in Bulgaria, and yeah, great place. Bulgaria. Wow. And it was with Nick Cessavetti, who directed the notebook, and I, we started talking back and forth, and I ended up getting a staff infection. And so I was in the hospital, and she thought I had ghosted her. And she's like, okay, whatever, you know, on to the next. And I texted her and I was like, hey, I'm so sorry, I, I was in the hospital with the staff infection. And she was like, right, yeah, I heard that one before. That's what they all say. Yeah. Super common thing to get. Staff infection. I was like, no, I'm serious, and I sent her a photo of my arm, and it was the size of a baby seal. And she was like, is this Chris Hensworth? Oh, yeah. I know. She's like, yes! God! It's a jackpot. You know, it's 25 and five sets. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's all nasty. But then you started going, but then you got a sign, you felt like a sign. I did. Yeah. So I thankfully survived the staff infection. And I went home, and every year, for the holidays, I go back to my mom's house. And I drove from Charleston, where I lived, down to Florida, where my mom is, and I came down the stairs. And she has music playing. And I was like, wait a minute. Is that Kelsey Bellerine playing on my mom's speaker system? And I just looked up at the sky, and I was like, what the [bleep] Yes! Yeah, it's all meant to be. And my mom heard me. And she goes, is that her? And I was like, yep, yeah, that's the girl I told you that I was kind of talking to you. Yeah, it's weird. You're listening to her. And that's how she found out you guys are dating. And so that's almost been two years now. It's all meant to be. That's fantastic. But she's coming on in a couple of weeks. Yes. I'm going to ask her some questions about you. Oh, gosh. Let's talk about Outer Banks. What can you tell everybody about season four? I think I'm legally allowed to say that it picks up season three ends where the-- it's a flash forward. So it's 18 months later. And so season four picks up at that exact moment of those 18 months. So we really get to explore what happens when they find the gold from El Dorado, what that does to a bunch of teenagers who have never had money. And if you've ever watched the show, the pokes don't do too well when they have a positive situation. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, trouble kind of follows them. Yeah. Chase Stokes, everybody. Season four of Outer Banks from New Year's October 10, stick it out. [MUSIC PLAYING] My thanks to Chris Martin, Chase Stokes, and the roots of birthday boy, Tariq. You're trying to ride there.
