Did you know a 2018 study showed half of prenatal vitamins tested had unacceptable levels of heavy metals? I'm Kat, mother of three and founder of Virtual. When I was four months pregnant, I couldn't find a prenatal I could trust, so I created my own. Ours is matraceable, third-party tested for heavy metals and recently earned the Purity Award from the Clean Label Project. But don't just take my word for it, get 25% off at virtual.com/podcast. It's time for the type of energy only Darren McCarty and Neil Ruhl can give. It's time for Big D Energy live on Woodward Sports. Join four-time Stanley Cup champion and legendary badass Darren McCarty in the golden voice of Neil Ruhl, Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as they give their takes on all things Detroit sports. The number one midday show in Detroit is on. Welcome to Big D Energy. Yo, yo, yo, what's going on, buddy? Welcome back to another episode of Big D Energy. Right here on the Woodward Sports Network. My name is Neil Ruhl. Hey, that's my friend, John Belizean. Hi, friend. Hi. What's up, buddy? Hi, friend. Hi, pal. Lots of talking about this. It's the earliest time of years, unbelievable, isn't it? I mean, really. Youth are all baseball. I forgot. KG's in the building. KG, what's really good? Hi, KG. Eat 'em up, tigers. Eat 'em up. Plain and simple. Plain and out CD. We would be all the way back. Maybe next week's Memo Racks. What's kicking? Hello. Hello. No, but Sean, I come to a lot of realizations yesterday. And there's a lot to get into. The game itself, how I felt about the game, the pressure cooker. I know just based on the watch party, Monday night, I know a lot of you folks out there. Didn't have a good evening yesterday, into the evening yesterday. How about that for the October pressure cooker? You forgot. Didn't you, Sean? 100%. You know what? When I was reminded was Monday, like watching, honestly, watching the Mets and Braves, Neil, I was all in. I haven't been all in on a baseball game like that. And I don't know about you. I find myself like watching the game going, I don't give a crap about either one of these teams. You parachute in, parachute out. Go get some chips. Right. What am I doing? Get it for one reason or another, say, I kind of like this team. I kind of like that team. Like I was all in. It is a subtle reminder of how much more it means when your team is involved. Like I think we all needed to be reminded of that, whether we want to admit it or not. Yeah, you watch every year, you're watching 15 and 16 and 17 and so on and so forth. But when the Tigers are in it, man, it just goes up a level. There's no other way to say that. And yesterday lived up to all the expectations, point blank. And I saw the funniest thing. If you guys haven't seen the video of the watch party yet, like go watch the video of the watch party because the reactions that everybody had for a split second was the exact reaction that I had on the last hour. I kid you not. I went full Kevin McAllister from Home Alone. As soon as he cracked it, like I saw it in my mind a second ahead of time, down the line, bases clearing, double, Tigers lose, just like that. I went like this. I did. I went full Kevin McAllister. So when Tor caught it, like I caught myself, now I was back in reality. I was back in present day. I was literally Kevin McAllister and it's so funny because if you guys watch that video like you guys all there's that split second, every one of you just went, oh, no doubt. Like it was hysterical, but all as well that ends well and we'll see what happens this afternoon. It'll be interesting. No, and it was funny too, Sean, because like for me, it was all lining up, right? Like it was, it was all like, you know, I thought about you instantly when they was everyone. All lining up. I thought about you. And the first thing I thought to myself and one of my buddies texted me, we thought literal same thing. How is the corpse of Jason Hey, we're going to take this away from us? Yeah. It's Jason. Like Jason Heyward's been in the game so long, he was in his prime when we were last in the playoffs. That's true. That is facts. Like a decade ago. And it's just Sean, the whole thing was wild. The full range of emotions, all of it. And I do want to get into some discussion because I did notice the chatter. I could do this whole show on that game yesterday. Absolutely. Between the game, the decisions in the game, the performance of the game, our anxiety in the game, our feelings in the game, the weather was crazy yesterday here. Like it was, it was an unbelievable day. I want to have a Bob Brisky appreciation day when this is all said and done. Can we do that? Can we like have a unofficial Bob Brisky? Because I text it. I'm Matt Shepard. I texted Shepard as soon as Brisky came and I go, okay, everything's cool and he'll probably start game two and game three. I mean, because that, I mean, the way that they've used him and the way that he just comes in and just does the job, it's, it really, honest to goodness in all the craziness that has been happening right now. And that's the only way to describe it. And you don't have to, you don't have to think about it. You don't have to figure it out. You just accept it and move on. You know, that's kind of been my mentality about it. That dude just comes in and gets it done, Bo freakin' Brisky. I mean, it, it's amazing to me. And that's what adds to part of the magic. I'm so glad that you brought up the weather though dude because like honestly, like when the skies open and the temperature drop like 10 degrees, it was almost like, oh yeah, it's October. So we have to start acting like October. It starts pouring rain and the temperature drops 10 degrees and you're just sitting at home or wherever you are watching the game going, yeah, this is the way it's supposed to be. It's really a magical day with a magical outcome. No, it was and the Tigers historically are not good starters in the playoffs. I saw a stat when I was on the treadmill plan of fitness today, shout out, we're live at the plan of fitness studios. I saw a stat there, four and 12 in openers coming into yesterday in the playoffs and the math checks out right from, I know it was a long time ago and I'm going to keep going back to that because damn it, it felt good to be back in. Didn't it? It felt, you missed because it became a right to us. It was a right and I immediately harken back to 2006, immediately. It's hard not to and it's funny because there's a generation of kids or at least a portion of generation of kids like my son. My son too. And Neil, like honestly, especially like the run from 11 to 14, you just accepted the fact on a school night, dad's going to take you down to Comerica Park. We had the season tickets and everything. That was just like, oh yeah, well, it's October, so when are the Tigers going to be at home? Man, 11 years, almost 11 years exactly since the Tigers last won a playoff game. It was October 16th, 2013, and I still contend, I still contend to all the people that said, oh, that series was over when Poppy hit the Grand Slam. That's bull crap, go back, rewatch that series, rewatch that series. What happened after that game, there are so many little things that tick me off, but hopefully we could start to heal from that because, Neil, I'm telling you, that more than anything else, that missed opportunity in 2013 haunts me, absolutely haunts me. And when they got swept in 2014 and I was sitting there that gosh damn afternoon at the exact same time that the Bills knock off the Lions on a long field goal and Jim Schwartz begs his team to carry him off the field, I literally, I wasn't even upset about 2014. I was more upset about 2013, just going, that was the one, that was the year, that was their window, and that's what I want to get into, Sean, like the swing of emotion, not just within the game, because the game brought out the 2013 thing. Like the bottom line is this, and this isn't a negative on this team, they weren't even born. Hell, I was barely alive. The last time, and here's where it got intentionally personal at the end, for me of that game, I was like, win this game, win this game, and like, like how my face is changing right now, this, this is how I got yesterday. And I was like, because we have not won a World Series since 1984. That's the reality, that's not a shot at anybody that's here right now, none of it. That's the reality, that's going on 40 years, and I'm hungry for it. I'm hungry for it. We all are. I'm hungry. That's the reality, bro. Absolutely. You know, we are hungry for this shit, man. We've waited so long. I know. 100%. I'll say it again, for guys like you and I, Neil, I was so sick and damn tired of hearing about the 1968 Tigers as a kid, couldn't stand it. We have generations of people now, people in their 40s, mind you, that 1984 is crammed down their throats. And again, Neil, like you said, no disrespect, it was a phenomenal, phenomenal memory, one that you'll never be able to replicate for those that experienced it. But I feel sorry. You know what? KG. Yeah. Spenny. My son. Friends of mine that are in their 40s, that they've heard 1984, like men with careers and families in life, children of their own, that they've had 1984 crammed down their throat. I was talking to Mac about this because Darren McCarty, are you familiar with his work? Oh, who is he? I'm sure he's a good guy. In the 1990s, in the 1997 Red Wings, right? Everybody acted like that was forever. I can't believe it. It's finally over. That was 42 years. 1955 to 1997. How do you think about it like that? Right? That was for this is 40 years. Guys, people don't want to hear this, but I'm going to go ahead and say it. We're going into Detroit Lion territory. We really are. We're not. I mean, 1957, we all know how that works out. But we're going into Detroit Lion territory when you're talking about 40 years. So yes, it's time to mix in another one. And why not this group? Why not this group? Catch fire. Do what you have to do because the one thing that I remember, Neil, and I keep, I don't want to sound like a stick in the mud, but these people that think that this is linear, like if this ends, God forbid this series, this sends against the Cleveland Indians and the Red Wings, the anti Red Wings crowd, the anti-isoming crowd, it was birthed on linear. Right. It's this 2006, like honestly, I remember vividly, Neil, I was on the radio that night. I had no anger at the Detroit Tigers, none that night. What a magical season. It's too bad it came short, but this is only the start. Okay. And you guys all remember what happened? They make the playoffs again for five years. And I'm not saying that that's going to happen with this group. There's a lot to like about this group, but at the end of the day, okay, this isn't linear. It's not. Well, this happened. So next year will be the next step. And the step after that, we've seen it far too many times, man. And that's Sean. And I'll kind of wrap that discussion up before we get into the break and we get going on the game itself and appreciate all you jumping into the World Sports chapter. We're going to get, we're going to get you guys interact. You know how I operate here. All right. You guys know how we do it. Subscribe to the World Sports YouTube channel. Get in there and get your thoughts out there because we're reading them like this was there. There was a lot of emotion yesterday. For me, like for me personally, you guys know the time that I put into this team, Sean's the same way. I know Sean, he's a friend, July on a mid mid week, July night and the Tigers are in steamy Kansas City in the broadcast teams and polos. I know Sean Belisians locked into that game, whether they're 30 under 500 10 over 500 in the playoffs, have been to play us in a decade Tuesday night at Kansas City 838, Sean Belisians got the game on. No, I got the game. No matter what. And it just, it felt good. It felt good. Well, we're sports chapter at Chris Blackburn. Yes. Can we talk pre-season hockey? Okay, Chris, you ready? Red Wings one yesterday after losing the split squad in Sarasota and Port St. Lucie on Tuesday. Go up in the middle. No, I know why, but come on. You know what? At least I'm consistent across the board. You just, you don't put anything into that stuff, man. I don't know what to tell you. You don't. It's fun to see it back. Don't get me wrong and guys like I know Chris, guys like Chris and I are going to be watching it and you're paying attention to things and you want to see little things and unfortunately there's been a lot of shenanigans, but you know, at the end of the day, it's pre-season. Okay. Yeah. Well, all right, Chris, we'll give it to you. Villy Huso. Look good. Perspenser Raxter. So the Danielson? Yep. He did. Yeah. So there you go. Thus concludes the pre-season hockey talk. Sorry, Sean. John, see you later, man. Thanks for coming out today. Take care, guys. Appreciate you being our expert insider on that. I'm an expert on New Holland. I can tell you that. Yeah. For sure. I come quite the expert certainly over the last week, over the last couple of weeks with the Dutch taller long drink. It's the best drink in the game. KG heard me on it. So he tapped in. He's got it in his fridge. I got it in my fridge. Socked. Guys, whatever happens, it's very rarely we say this, right? Whatever happens with New Holland down the road, you know, they're partnering with Woodward Sports. We love it. They love us from my understanding and we love it. If ever that doesn't happen, guess if you ever asked me what's your favorite drink of all time, the taller long drink. It's always going to be there can't be a drink better than that, everybody. If you're the seltzer crowd, there it is for you. Grapefruit puree. And it's, of course, the small batch gin that's made at New Holland Brewing over there locally made everybody. It's not that white claw with trash ingredients and all that kind of stuff. It's legit. It's local. It's New Holland Brewing. And taller, the only long drink in the game. Have you heard about the 2018 study that showed half of prenatal vitamins tested had unacceptable levels of heavy metals? No. Well, now you have. I'm Kat, mother of three and founder of Ritual, the company making traceability the new standard in the supplement industry. I remember staring at my prenatal vitamins and finding all these things I was trying to avoid, high amounts of heavy metals, synthetic colorants and unnecessary ingredients. So, at four months pregnant I quit my job and started ritual because I believe that all women deserve to know what they're putting in their bodies and why. I'm so proud of our prenatal vitamin. The ingredients are 100% traceable, it's third party tested for microbes and heavy metals and recently received the purity award from the Clean Label Project. Let's, let's get into the game itself because I saw it. I don't know if you do it, Sean, but I do, you, you keep the social media open to kind of keep tabs and what's going on around the world. I do too. I do too. And for me, it's, I don't understand it. I don't understand the whole, the whole taking out of Holton and bringing in Foley. I didn't understand it either. You want me to explain it to you? Sure. Go ahead. Absolutely. Because it's very, very simple and AJ Hinch set as much. Do you think it's a better spot to bring Foley in there? Or do you think it's a better spot to bring Foley in with Tuan and nobody out? Bring him in there. Clean inning. Yeah. That those were it. And, and it's, it makes so much sense. It's perfectly understandable. That's AJ Hinch. Who are we talking about? Yeah. It was. Yeah. Who are we talking about here? It was, it was the fandom that got in me because Tyler Holton has been absolutely amazing this year. Yes, because of that, I'm gonna be up and down. Yes, where he gets to be amazing again. Yep. That's true. You did preserve it. You nailed it. You, you, we have the luxury of including emotion into situations. Mm hmm. It is the fandom. And, and you know what? You have to take emotion out of these equations and, and Neil, listen, I think I know where you're going with this. Like, if AJ Hinch hasn't proven to you what so many of the baseball people have said about how he's next level thinking it's never going to happen. That's a you problem. It certainly isn't an AJ problem because you know, all I can do is if you remember, and I'm sorry to bring up dark days, but this is for comparison reasons to put him on a level that he deserves to be on. Do you remember how everybody told us how smart Brad Osmis was? Mm hmm. I mean, he was Mensa. Right? I always heard it. I never saw it. Right. Ask Brad. He'll tell you. He was Mensa. Okay. Like, dumb baseball fan. And I would ask people, I'd like, Neil, talk on his shirt like a little kid. Neil, can I ask you a question you promise not to yell at me? Neil, why is Brad Osmis so smart? What is the Brad Osmis difference? Does he run the room? Ivy League education. Right. Does he run the room? Is it his, his in game decisions? Can, please, because I feel really, I feel really dumb right now and I'm kind of tired of people yelling at me and you're just trying to be different. You're trying to be a hater and everything. You don't have to have those questions about AJ Hinch. Nobody's walking up to Neil and tugging on him or going to one of the full-fledged card-carrying members of baseball elite and going, "Hey man, why is AJ Hinch such a great manager?" He's shown you. Isn't that beautiful? I mean, really, that's what we've been able to see, especially, I think, down these last couple of months. To that point, I think he, you know, I'm a big fan of Cash A and we talk about the Cash A that Dan Campbell has or the Cash A that, that Brad Holmes have. I'm a big fan of Cash A. I think AJ Hinch has a big credit line right now, Neil. No doubt. Big credit. Big credit. And the bottom line with it all, Sean, is you know what he does and Dan Campbell does this too. And I've noticed, if you notice the new wave of good coaches, not the ones I'm told are good, that I'm looking around going, "Man, this Nick Ciriani guy, like, I keep hearing he's good, but I never see it." He's a bomb. Rocco Bell-Dellies, just brilliant. Yeah. Play the game, Sean. No, you know what he does? He stands in front of the microphone and says, "This is what I was thinking. This is why I did what I did." He takes up for us. Now, there's a degree of, "You have to take up for your guys." Just like Sean, you've done this business a long time. I actually looked up to you before we met and became friends in that you never, no, but I use this. I got this from Mario and Pembo when he and I work together too. When you're up front and you're on the mic and you're on the camera, if something goes wrong, you've got to figure it out. And if KG makes an audio mistake, you know who knows that KG made the audio mistake? KG. He doesn't need me up here saying, "Guys, I can't hear this, I can't hear what's going on, I don't know what's going to happen, I'm going to make it work," because that's the job. And if it doesn't work, if it doesn't work, then it's on me because I'm the one that's going to get the tweets and everything like that and I'm cool with that. I'm cool with that. That's what comes with the job. He explains it to you and he does what he's supposed to do. That's a great point, Neil, and I think it's funny you're tying it into our business, but I think it's a life thing. You don't have to let people know what they don't know already, right? Sometimes things happen behind the scenes, if that makes sense. And Spenny may screw up, but if the audience doesn't know that Spenny screwed up, well then why on earth would Neil and I go, "All right, listen, I got to say something about the Spenny guy, okay? This, I almost swore and wore on Fox two, I'm not going to do that." Oh, yeah, shout out Fox two. No, shout out. But you know what I mean? And I think, and that's sometimes a manager doesn't have to pull back the curtain. No. Okay, he doesn't have to. Maybe there are other things going on and he's going to protect his guy or he's going to try to logically explain it in a way without throwing his guy under the bus. But my goodness gracious, you're right whether it's UKG or you Spenny, if something's happening behind the scenes that you guys don't know about in viewer land or listener land, well why the hell would I need to bring it to attention? Right. It doesn't make any sense to me. But he addresses the main issue and he explains it and like Dan Campbell talks about it and he just said it was a better situation for Foley to walk into a clean inning than it is with that place. You guys know what he got in that ninth inning, KG, that feeling you got in that bottom of the night. That's what I was afraid of. Yeah. That place got rocking like it's a crazy, crazy environment there. That's what I was afraid of. And I agree with him, even if it didn't work and he would have gotten murdered, but he's still getting questions about it. Like people are questioning about it today because like, it's got to be perfect, right? It can't just be you one. It's got to be there's got to be stopped. Have you heard about the 2018 study that showed half of prenatal vitamins tested had unacceptable levels of heavy metals? No. Well, now you have. I'm Kat, mother of three and founder of Ritual, the company making traceability the new standard in the supplement industry. But with that being said, he just explained it and it's 1000% right. I know I would rather come in and kind of choose my own adventure than be dropped into the middle of the book. Right. And you have to execute. That's what I'm saying. You know, like it was, it was the right move. Even if it didn't work, it was the right move and Tyler Holton starts today and you're probably going to squeeze two. If he goes quick, three innings out of them. Absolutely. And there's nobody that I would rather have. We got nothing to lose. We got the lead. We got the puppeteer pulling the strings right now. We'll get just enough hits to win and that's like, that's 87% of the time you win the series when you win game one, look at all the road teams that won yesterday. Isn't it amazing to how, how, you know, sometimes drama and fate intersect at the same intersection. Hunter Browns on the mound today. This is this a local guy. Shout out to Wayne State Warriors and coach Ryan Kelly, a guy that that made his name at Wayne State and a guy that quietly is having a really good season. The one thing that I've noticed about Hunter Brown, because I've kept tabs on him being a Wayne State guy, the one thing I've noticed about Hunter Brown is he's one of those pitchers that he'll get himself in trouble. If you take it, look at his whip, his, his whip's pretty high. I think it's one, two, seven, right? But my man works out of trouble. He's one of those guys that, okay, I got a couple batters on. All right. What do I got to do? I got to strike this guy out. I got to get the double play ball and he's really thrived. So isn't it amazing on this is clearly the biggest day this franchise has had in 11 years. Make no mistake about that, okay? The biggest day this franchise has had in 11 years, and you've got some kid from the shores in Wayne State on the mound for Houston, and just like you can't script this crap. And that's why subtle reminder, Neil, I have to give a shout out to my favorite thing about postseason baseball, bunting, and I'm not talking about dropping the ball down. I'm talking about how they put that bunting up just everything's better when you got those red, white and blue bunting things up at the stadium. I'm serious. Fourth of July. Yes. It's a different field. That that was one of those things. All those games at Comerica Park where you walk into Comerica Park and you're like, this is an opening day. This is October baseball, and you know it by looking at that bunting. I I'm one of those guys you should never bunt baseball term ever again. But man, I just my excitement level goes up a hundred ninety seven percent when when, you know, you've turned on that TV and you see all the bunting down the first baseline and third baseline and of the upper decks and everything. Everything about it is a magical experience and the tigers can get another magical moment in what has been a magical last couple months to be short today against Hunter Brown. You can't you can't script this stuff. And that's why the postseason is so magical. And yes, Hunter Brown, I think you accurately described him. I was a Hunter Brown owner in fantasy baseball at the beginning of the year and I had to I had to cut him loose because of exactly what you said. He gets himself into troubles the short that starts get shorter us and you really struggle at the beginning. He bounced back nicely on the second half. He kind of got it together. He kind of went as he Astros went. Yeah. When you know it was kind of a clown car the first two months of the season, but then they went back into their mode and they you know, they got it together and here they are. No, but it but it is. It's just the the wild range of emotions. Jay Cruz and in the world sports chat thread. I'm baptized every time I take a sip of taller. It's so good. Testify. I feel like I feel like a pastor here. Right. You know what I'm saying? Testify. nitty gritty. Where the after they sell them. Small shop called total wine has them. All you want. Small shop. Any total wine you can roll in and get them to order them on the app and just roll in and pick them up. But yeah, Chuck Brewer Neil. How did goalie number seven look? I don't know. We read the text earlier, years off your life, uh, Woodward sports chat threads guide dog 722 George Vlaha, Dan Miller, greater than Neil rule. I'll take that company here. I'll finish third in that run. Yeah. Means I carved out a pretty decent career. I'd say so. Absolutely. Uh, 14 grit scuba should have gone aided in yesterday, but cramps slowed him down while he was pushing a hundred pitches anyway, right, right. And I, I don't know what the wrist or knee situation was with that, but you hope he's okay. He's a boy. Doggy. He tufted out. Yeah. Yeah. And, uh, who knows that that was the, uh, that was the case, George Herbo Neil, we need you commentating games more. I, I get my, I get my share. No, right. Right. Uh, I got to get paid for it. Got to get paid for it. Sean. Sean knows a life. Right. That weekend travel. We're just talking about it off. It's funny. It's like, honestly, we're literally just talking about it. I think back Neil, especially as you get older, and I don't know if you've done this thing, when you have the double or triple weekends, like I'm not joking, you don't understand it. It zonks you. Yes. And here's the difference. Here's the difference. You know, you have two or three games, you know, like I'll do a Wayne State football game and then, you know, whether it be USA hockey or going up to Michigan State, whatever the case may be, like when you're done, you're so amped up, you can't come home and go to that. Like people don't get there. Oh, my wife says that. Why don't you just go to sleep? Oh, okay. Well, you know what? It takes years for your wife to figure it out. It's sure because like I would get home when I was doing Toledo, I'd get home at like 11 o'clock at night and oh my gosh, you look exhausted and I was like, yeah, I'll probably be asleep in three or four hours. Like, because you're amped up, you're calling the game. So, no, it's a grind, but I mean, think about it though. Okay. Don't. Wait a second. And you're paying me money to call. Right. It's wild. I'm not a bitch too much about that. Right. I can say that, right? I can say that, right? Yeah, no. All right. Shh. Okay. All right. What was sports chat thread? Old jar head. My head was expanding just short of exploding. Jesus. From my blood pressure going up. You guys were at the watch party yesterday. All right. Yeah. How did Tom Asway hold up? He was, he, we almost lost him. He was getting the arm pains. Yeah. But two wheels were off the edge of the cliff, right? He was giving her all she's got. Yeah. I was sitting right next to Maz and yeah, he was getting arm pains, he was clutching his arm. Yeah, man. He was worried about it. But we made it through. All right. It was stressful. If you haven't checked out that video, okay, of the final out, I mentioned the whole crew specifically look at Tom Asway, because I think Tom Asway's expression spoke for all of us. It really was like, really, I mean, innocent. And that second seemed to last so long. It ran for me. It was delayed. It was it was like a minute long. Oh, no, down the line basis, clearing double. Yeah. I mean, really, that's what it was. It felt great. Maz just put his hands in his face. Yeah. It was just yeah, that was crazy, man. But go ahead. No, I just I wanted to do a temperature check on you, Neil, because, you know, we were at filming the other day, shut up, filming, and you expressed your fear in the Astros. And this, I promise this ain't me trying to victory lap. No, no, you had legitimate concerns, and I know you were more so talking about this game today than the school will start. But the Tigers did it the same way that they always do it, man. 100%. And I thought the key in this game was really like they got to former Valdez very early in this game. You had brought up the old five for nine going 0 for 14. Well, we didn't necessarily have to worry about that in this game. And they got to him quick and in turn that made the Astros have to empty the clip very early. Romel Blanco, he had the expense of energy out there. To me, you put the Astros at a disadvantage. But this is why I said I had no fear in the Astros, although the talent disparity is clearly greater. No, you know what it was though, KG, and it was exactly like the season. And Sean, because you guys know, because I said this on the air yesterday, you know that stupid wall is going to come into effect at one end, and it almost did, missed it by a few. They missed it by a foot. I thought of you instantly, man. I was like, damn, Neil was correct. Fox two. Oh, I said, damn, damn should be OK, damn should be OK, but yeah, no further point. No, no, but but it but it was and and they did what they've done. And guys, look, it's not a slight. We can say it. We're living a charmed existence right now. They missed the home run by a foot Jason here with hits it absolute rocket. I think the exit Ville was like over a hundred miles an hour or whatever it was, and it was right at Torx. He had no choice but to catch that ball. We got away with it. We 100% got away. Scuba was electric, magnificent. He was he was the best pitcher in baseball again. Can I be the stick in the mud? And this goes back to what I think you were just saying, KG, you know what the Tigers did yesterday, whether you guys want to admit it or not, they did what they should have done. You have the best pitcher in baseball on the mound. Okay. These Astros are so dangerous. I'm with you, Neil, but you know, I don't know about you guys when you saw that roster, when you when you saw that lineup, this just in and don't say it too loud. I don't want them to hear it. The bottom of their lineup sucks. It's not good. Okay, so to me, KG, yesterday, my concern was don't lose this one. You have to have this one. Tarek Scuba is the best pitcher in baseball. Now my concern is these next two. I'm not Joe. Do you take one of those two because I and I hate to sound cocky. I'm sure many of you felt the exact same way. Tarek Scuba wasn't going to go out and lose that game. No, he wasn't. It wasn't going to happen. Okay. To me, Neil, my fear came from the potential game two, the potential game three, and that's not dissing the way the Tigers have done it the last month and a half because obviously AJ's found a formula and he can mix and match and use Bobris key here and use ultimate and you do all those things. Okay. But to me, the Tigers held serve yesterday. I think everybody in their brother thought Tarek Scuba's on the mound win this one. Yeah. 5050 proposition. Can you take one in the next, you know, 20, what, 29 hours now that's the, and let's get out of the way today. Can we forget about talking about tomorrow, can we get it out of the way today and start thinking about, you know, maybe making a trip down to Cleveland and everything. I think it would be in our best interest, but Neil, for what it's worth, I have a feeling we're going to see a game tomorrow and I hope I'm wrong. I open ends today, man, I have a feeling we're going to see a game tomorrow. They ended it today, but I would say they did a little more than just hold serve like Neil says all the time. You, yes, it got a little tight in the ninth, but did you really feel like they were going to drop this one? I don't think anybody did know how I do not, not until not until that at that. Yeah. For me, the whole game. I was like, the Tigers are going to win. Yeah. And that lasted bad. I'm not going to lie. Then I was like, Oh gosh. Oh gosh. It doubled down the line. I've seen the Astros do this crap before, but maybe just maybe we're guilty of comparing these Astros to some of the championship teams in the past. Yeah. Maybe, you know, there's that, that phantom of the Astros that that's kind of looming right now. This isn't the same team. There are a lot of holes in this team. No, absolutely, but they are still talented, but I think this just goes back to our bullpen. No, we have one of the stronger bullpens in all of baseball and with AJ Hinch pulling the strings. You saw masterwork yesterday. Yeah. I mean, Bob Briski coming in the Tyler Holton move, man. You know, vest came in and did work out in five of beds. Yeah. Well, you have. That's perfect. That's the Jared Goff performance of the game. Like that's, that's what it is. And the bottom line through all of it, like, you don't remember when I was talking about it, the one for 14, the tight last night, the Astros six through nine were one, four, five, 11, they were one for 14, six or nine, look like the shoes on the other foot with four strikes. I'm going to say it again. Look at the names too. You know, it's not just the lack of production. The bottom of their lineup sucks. Like, and quite frankly, I don't think enough was said about that when we were, you know, doing our expert analysis leading into this series, like that's to me, that's a big gaping hole. That's advantage tires. You know, again, they have been there, done that there, guys, Alex Braggman will do something to piss us all off. Let's just accept it. I hope it doesn't happen today, but I think the chances are, are, are better than not because that's what he's done over the course of his career. But this isn't, this isn't the Astros of the last few years. It just isn't. It's still a damn good team. Make no mistake about that, but it's not the same Astros at all. No, it is. Even with their life on the line, with their life on the line, 35 year old Jason Hayward was up there, determined in their fate. He hit a rocket. He did. But he was out. But that's the way this works. You, that series you brought up earlier, Tigers Orioles, the sweep. Remember who made the last out for the Tigers? That second baseman that played like 20 games. I, I forget his name. Somebody in the chat will know, I forget his name. That who was up with that whole era of Tigers baseball on the line. What? I'm trying to remember. And I can't remember. Yes. No. No, no, it was 20. Now I got to look at that. Now you got to look at that. The 2013 playoffs, the last, the Tigers got swept by the Orioles. 2014, or 2014, I mean, the last playoff appearance by the, by the Tigers. Oh, Mario, that's it. No worse. No worse. Don't lose disrespect. Oh, Mario. I was about to say no. I will not tolerate Omar, worse than, no, worse than any. Hernan Perez. Danny Worth. Was it Danny? Worse. Worth. Jesus. Take me back. Worse. I'm telling you. Jim Leland. Old, old, old jarhead says we need those breaks. No. 100% man. Yeah. I, I'm not apologizing for that. Are we, you know, are we a flawed baseball team? Do we go against clearly? No, worse than him. Alex Gonzalez. Was it Hernan Perez? We can't remember. And it may have been he, man. It may have been. Yeah. It may have been. That's the time, absolutely. That was like one of the worst gloomy afternoons because at the exact moment that the Tigers got swept, the exact moment you saw people walking out of Ford Field like this. So like I looked down at my phone and I go, Oh, good gosh, the bills beat the lions on the last play of the game. I mean, it was just, it was, it was awful. And Neil, I say it all the time, whether people wanted to admit it or not, that was the day that the era of the Tigers died. That era of the Tigers was over. It was all over on that day. Some of us knew it that day. Some of us refused to accept it. But I think that was the worst part about it for me is that era of fun and coming so close on a few different occasions was over and the Tigers didn't get their ring. And that, that's what sucked about that day. But here we are in another opportunity and you know, much like the '06 run where a lot of people, Neil, it was almost a foregone conclusion. It was her non-parells, by the way, that's who held the fate in his hand. I told you it was worse than everybody else. Yeah, that's true. It was almost like, it was almost like Neil going back to '06, remember the way they collapsed? Everybody thought that the Yankees, it would be a sweep. And then they won game one and then the Tigers came roaring back in one of the most exciting days at Comerica Park ever. And this team has those vibes right now, like, Hey, listen, nobody thought it would be here anyway. So let's see what we can do and they're in a great position when in that first game, man. Real quick, before we cut to the break, Neil, my big realization is that I might not be built for postseason baseball. I forgot what it was like to have your team in the playoffs. I was more on edge than any other teams in the playoffs. And I know nothing more electric than the one one pitch, except maybe a haircut at Lady James. Haircut at Lady James. Alright, keep it a push and big-de-energy, Woodward Sports Network, neo-rule, Sean Belisian, Ian Ford, DMACC, KG, Spencer Raxter, all of you, and Woodward Sports, chat, thread. Paul Thomas, AJ almost blew that game. Where? What? Where? Help me out. Miss me with that one. Paul, help me out. Seriously, I'm not trying to be a jerk, help me out. Please. Don't... Yeah. Yeah. Don't give me the 30-style boxing dance. Don't even do it, Neil. We work too hard to get to this point. Don't do it. Yeah. Art Vandalay. The reason the Tigers never won a World Series in the 2000s is because we couldn't put up runs and when we did, our bullpen was trash. And also, Art, we had the worst pitcher in World Series history on our roster. I'll blame the sixth day rest, but you won't go yet. He's the worst pitcher in World Series history. I hear you. He's got a ring. He does. He does. Despite him. Despite him. Because of him. Right. So... I'm just saying. That can get you mad. You can. I'm a late. I'm a very, very good friend of mine that says facts on me. Take some late six-day rest. You can't. Okay. That's fine. But it's... He's... Every time he's pitching the World Series, he's been the worst pitcher ever. I heard. I heard. I know that makes you upset. It doesn't... Can I give you a job of Chamberlain fact? Yes. I was talking about this during the... So red. Can we do random job of Chamberlain facts? Okay. No, I was just... Like seriously, I was just talking about this in the break. 2013 did damage to me. I'm serious. It really did. It damaged me. I don't think I'll ever get over it. So I didn't really enjoy 2014 as much because I started to kind of smell that it was over and then it was over a... Java Chamberlain in the 2014 series against the Orioles, Neil, he faced six batters, he got one out, he allowed four runs on three hits. And I had to live through a day where I was on the radio and I had Tiger Fan after Tiger Fan after Tiger Fan tell me that Brad Osmas made the right decision to take out Annie Bell Sanchez who was absolutely dealing, absolutely dealing, and put in Java Chamberlain. It is amazing to me how that works out. It is really amazing. No, and it is. Cat Spot by the way, Neil likes to ish on Stafford, but he never talks about what complete trash Verlander was in the World Series with the Tigers. Do I not spend any... He talks about it every day. It's literally his legacy. He is the worst pitcher in World Series history. That Neil's opinion verifiable fact, the worst. So try again, Cat Spot. You're incorrect at that. Yeah, he says it all the time. Cat doesn't listen. He just spouts... He just talks. Yeah, that's... He's a yapper. No, that's absolutely. All right. Sky Dog, you know, you calling JV the worst World Series pitcher of all time? I am as a matter of fact. And I'm not. Math is telling you that. So there's that out there as well. Woodward's sports chat thread jump in to there. Real cream of wheat Annabelle is like the third best pitcher on that roster. Annabelle is insane. That's nuts. That's insane. 2013, he was sickening. I can't tell you. You know how you get those season ticket packs and everything? I think we had 27 games and we saw Sanchez and we had the near no hitter. He had the 17 strikeout game. I mean, people forget how damn good Sanchez was. I mean, when the bottom dropped out, it dropped out. But my gosh, he was... He was sick down here. Woodward's sports chat thread jump in to there. Get your thoughts. And we are. We're just... We're talking... For those that want to know, someone asked earlier. Caesar's sports book, the official sports book of Woodward's sports. Houston Astros minus 180, the Tigers plus 150. You want the run line. You can get the Tigers plus one and a half. That's minus 145. You can lay the one and a half with the Astros. That's plus 122. The over under is seven and a half. They have a boosted parlay. It's called the close it out boost. It's a max hundred dollar bet. Matt Veerling, Spencer Torkelson, Kerry Carpenter, each to have a hit is plus 325. So there's that one out there as well. If there's another one you want, Tigers win. Riley Green total over bases, over a half. Matt Veerling total base is over one and a half. That's plus 450. So that's a little aggressive. Yeah, a little bit. But you know, hey, you're going to watch a game? Get down on it anyway. Caesar's sports book is the official sports book of Woodward's sports. Sean, how you feeling today? I think this is going three. I really do. I have a feeling that Hunter Brown and I'm not speaking with my heart because I pull for the kid. I'm not pulling for him today. I hope he gets bombed. I'll do respect to you, Hunter. He owes that to me for me drafting them in fantasy. No, really. I hope he gets bombed. But I think this is a guy he's seen that, you know, he gets himself out of trouble. I think the numbers suggest that. I think the Astros bounce back and I think it's going to be a winner take all situation tomorrow. I hope I'm wrong. I don't want to do it. I don't forget about you. I don't care about you. I don't want to put myself through it. I don't want I don't want to deal with that today and have to grind it up and do it again tomorrow. I think this Astro team has too much pride. There's still too much championship pedigree there, Neil, to go quietly into the night as it were, especially at the home of Tals Hill. But with all that being said, listen, I still, I think the Tigers are going to find a way to win this series. I really do. They got a little something, something going on and I don't think that the Astros have enough to beat them. I don't. I really don't. But I think it's going to happen tomorrow. By the way, for Chris Oler that asked about the the hockey talk, we are going to do a quick segment since Sean is here. I want to pick his brain on it. There's some things I want to run by him. It's more for me than it is for you guys, I guess. But I want to do it. And he's here. So I'm going to do it. The lineup is out for the Tigers today. Parker Meadows will hit lead off playing center field. Kerry Carpenter will DH hitting second. Matt Beerling betting third playing right field. Riley Green at the cleanup spot playing left. Colt Keith hitting fifth playing second base. Spencer Torkelson batting six playing first base. Zach McKinstry batting seventh playing third. Trey Sweeney at short, batting eighth. Ray Rogers catching. Yes. batting ninth. Tyler Holton getting the start seven into a 219 ERA 77 strikeouts on the year. Or Houston Al Tuva Tucker Alvarez, Breggman Diaz, Caratini, Peña, the corpse, Jason Hayward and McCormick will bat ninth Hunter Brown on the mound 11 and 9, 349 ERA on 79 strikeouts. You get your dog yet. Can we give and I've hammered Ray Rogers? I have. Me too. I've had a day yesterday. The bun. Those are the little things you need, man. You just you need things like that. I still contend, I don't think that Ray Rogers is a guy that you want as your catcher. When you want to be a serious world series contender, I still say that. Okay. But at the same time, you have to give credit where credit is due. I don't think it came up today, Neil. Big time props is little things like that, man, that make all the difference in the world. When you're talking about these postseason games, KG, where the margin of error is at slim tip of the cap to, and I'm going to call them Ray Rogers. I usually do it sarcastically, but I am. I'm going to give him a Ray Rogers right now because that you got to have moments like that. How about him swinging three? Oh, man. It worked. It worked in the postseason. You get a clean slate, man. That was wild. Shout out flannel sound, man, but I really got confidence in this team. And one thing that they showed me yesterday is that they're prepared for anything like I think the order pressure is on Houston at this point. It was yesterday, but even more so today. So the Tigers, this is truly a free roll scenario, but I do think they get it done today. The same way they've always done it, man. You're going to go to your bullpen. You're going to be able to get timely hits. And yeah, we're going to keep the string rolling, man, but we shall see. Let's do this real quick. Sagas says I 100% love this team way more than I ever loved those early 2010s teams because the team isn't the monsters who lose when they lose their powers and have their powers taken from them in the final minute of the movie. And saga. This has been my overriding thing, too. Like when I talk about it, this is as organic as it's ever going to be. This is the only free roll we're going to get because by human nature, what's next you're going to look like? What do you expect out of the time right now, what do you expect out of the Tigers next to the division title hammer the table? Yep. Nothing less. Yes. And it's realistic to think that nothing less. Like so you'll be pissed next year if they don't. If they don't win the division, you'll be as if the Lions didn't win the division this year. 2006 vibes. It was the exact, I mean, really, different than after that incredible run. Like the one thing that hit me when it was all over, when they lost that series in five games of the Cardinals, Neil, as God is my witness, what you just said, it was exactly in my head. And I was on the radio that night talking about it, it'll never be that special. And it's depressing to think that way. But guess what? Now you're a victim of those expectations. You're you're a victim and there's a listen, I, and it's Benny, I know you and I have talked about this a hundred times and Neil, you just brought it up. I couldn't give two poops, Fox two. I couldn't give two poops if the Lions win the wild card this year. Couldn't I really, I don't care. That means nothing. It means nothing to me. But you know people will be pissed if they don't. Oh, of course they will. If they go on a Pittsburgh stealer run, a New York giant run and goal and punch their way into the Super Bowl, who cares? Yeah. Are we going to look back and go, man, that's suck. I really wish we could have won the North. Nobody's going to say that to me, the Lions success this year is predicated on what they do in the playoff for me, for me. There is. But that's where they're at now. And I like being here personally, I like being here. And to the point that you guys are all making, we're going to run into that next year with the Tigers. If the, if the, I almost call them the tribe, I'm just going to call them the tribe. If the tribe does tribe things and you know, they, they, they got a little voodoo going on in this division and they've had a lot of voodoo against the Detroit Tigers in particular. But if they find a way to win the division again and the Tigers, oh, we finish a game or two back, right? What is that matter? Like, like, like honestly, but we're all going to be disappointed. I mean, that's just the reality of it. I mean, expectations will do that to you. No, no doubt. All right. Let's do this. And let's take the break. We come back. There is some line stuff that we got to get into. We do in top five today. Yeah. It's not going to be back tomorrow. You're on top five today. You want to do it tomorrow. If you want to wait for DMACC, this is a big one for him. Yeah. Yeah. It's like a DMACC thing. We can push it back. We can push it back until tomorrow. Where were we at? Swiss insurance. Alright, keeping a push in, second hour of the program, as my good friend likes to call it, Sean Belisian here with myself, Neil Rule, that's KG, Spencer Raxter in the building. Also when we're talking Tigers, we're going to get into the Lions stuff as well. This is Spenny's Lane, and I'm just going to do it now. Let me prepare myself mentally. Uh oh. What? Then just go ahead. I feel where this is going though. I sense where this is going. I saw you guys talking about it, and you know I'll do that from time to time, where I'll see what you guys are talking about, and say hey, you know I'll bring that up. Okay. The Devante Adams thing. Do you guys talk about the heavyweight yesterday, Spenny? Yeah, no. Not yet. You did not? No, it just happened today. What is it? I thought that was yesterday? It was late yesterday. Oh yes, that was okay. The news of Detroit being interested just happened to. Yeah. Um, Sean, we do this all the time. I wanted to do it on the shorter segment right here. Your thoughts. No. Honestly. No. No. Why? Why do they need him? Help me out. Seriously. Why? They don't need him. I'm serious. They don't need him. Can I make a request though? Yeah. Can he resin the demand and have Max Crosby? Can we do that? I'll take honest to goodness, guys, I'm not trying to...why? Did you watch how the offense flowed on Monday? It was pretty good, huh? Yeah. Okay. There's enough balls to go around. There are enough weapons on this team. It's exactly what we talked about at the beginning of the season with Jamison Williams. If you're one of those guys that's going to claim victory at the end of the year because Jamison Williams doesn't pit up 1,500 yards and 13 touchdowns, you're not paying attention to how the game is played. You know what? I just wanted Jamison Williams to be a weapon, okay? And you know as well as I do, you know who I'm looking at, I'm looking at you flannel. No, but all jokes aside, you know as well as I do, you know as well as I do, they're going to be people that if Jamo puts up 900 yards and 9 touchdowns and stuff, they're going to go, "See, I told you, he doesn't have to be that guy." When you have Amman Ross, St. Brown, when you have the two running backs, when you have Sam Laporta, you don't just be a viable weapon. And if you're one of those people that you can't confess at this point in time that Jamison Williams is now a viable weapon, I can't help you anymore, okay? The Lions don't need to have Hante Adams, am I wrong there? Why? For what? And I know like the particulars, you could make it fit, right? You could make it fit, they've got the money, all of those things, but please tell me why the Lions need to Vante Adams right now. Can you help me? Can any of you guys help me? You want to take a swing? No. Really? Yeah. For real? I mean, I would take the Vante Adams if you wanted to come to the Lions, but I'd rather have back's Crosby or an edge. We don't need the Vante Adams. A thousand percent. I hear you. But a Super Bowl would be the reason. Right. Just clear his day. I do understand you don't need them, but just imagine that. This offense is already top three. You get Jared Goff, you got the Vante Adams, Jamo on the outside of my ride in the slot with Sam Laporta. I'm just saying and running an attack that you have. I'm not arguing that, but he's a shiny thing. He is. I would rather have something that we need right now. Yeah. And this just in, you know what, we need some help on that front seven. Yeah. Front seven guys, front seven. We do. We need some help on this front seven. It's not, you know, and it's funny because we're at that weird point in time right now with the Lions. I got into a lot of this in the last couple of days, you know, chatting with people. It's like, it's okay to say they need to be better. It is. And you know what, people. Oh, I can't believe you're doing this. I can't believe you. You guys don't listen to me. I guarantee you as sure as I'm standing here right now that Glenn and Campbell and the entire staff were hammering that home yesterday in Allen Park. So don't listen to me. Who the heck am I right? I guarantee you that they know that. Don't get me wrong. If you want to come here, sure. Is it going to cost me nothing? Oh, okay. That sounds great. I don't think that's going to happen. But do I want a shiny thing right now? A nice shiny thing I can ooh and ah at or a grit guy that's going to help in area that needs help. But I hear you, but this is where I would not go ahead. Thank you for being here today. Thank you for being here because I'm not going to have to sit there and take it because your thoughts are my thoughts. Like that's 100% real quick in the chat Paul Thomas. Our friend Anakin just got into Detroit Mercy was hoping you could give your boy a shout out for it. Shout out Anakin. You should have went to Oakland, to be honest, but you know, good for you. Good for you. Good job. Good job. Just come out to the games. Mercy needs you. They only have like eight people that go to their games these days. So they need you to go out today. Oh, shots fired. Well, it's not facts or me. They hurt. Yeah. Trade Mark Sean Belize. You know, it's just for me, KG, are you interested in that $44 million cap hit next year? Not at all. No, you said you were. Listen, I'm just offering pushback. Me personally, I probably wouldn't do it just because of how much it would cost. And I'm just saying what he adds to this offense is absolutely crazy. The reason why he's acting like this in Vegas is because he wants to win. And that's been his goal the whole time. So I think culture wise, he would fit in very well here. He's a receiver that is still producing even though he's starting to get up there in the age. I mean, Aidan O'Connell was his quarterback the last two years and he's still putting up pretty damn good numbers, man. And I'm just thinking of what that can do for the weapons you already have. He's not getting those numbers here. Yeah. All right. But look what that does. Look at it. If he went, if he wins, I think ultimately he just wants to win and you know what numbers not fine with me? 44, 44 million, which is two years of 40 million, why it would deter me, but I can understand you want him right and I can understand the thought process. That's all I'm saying. It's the Red Wing All-Star team of 2002 analogy. It is. Okay. When you bring these guys in, hey, guys, Brett Hall comes to Detroit. He's not scoring 60, 70 goals. He's part of four lines. Luke Robitai comes here. He's not putting up 125 points. He's part of four lines and that's what, if Davante Adams, KG, and I don't know what's in the man's heart, if winning is, is, is, is paramount, then, then Detroit's the right place to go. But if he's one of those guys that, that, that wants the ball a little bit more and, and certainly had some issues with Jimmy Garoppolo in particular last year and rightfully so. But look at the situation. He was the numero uno on that team and he wasn't getting the ball. What else? What other option did they have? So I can understand him wanting the ball in that situation. Because he's, he's not, he's not going to be that quote, unquote, number one receiver here. He's just not. No, but you don't need him to be. And I don't know what's in his heart. True. But, but at the end of the day, I like, if I get it, it's a shiny thing. I like shiny things. I think, ooh, you know the possibilities? Give me some help on the D line pass. Give me an extra linebacker, okay? Something in that, in that front seven that, that can help this team out because I'm not too worried about the offense. I'm, I'm not. And I think maybe for some of you guys that were a little bit worried about it, I hope your fears were alleviated by what we saw on Monday night. Uh, what were sports? Hard pass. Chat thread. Um, yes, Kat's about, I understand that they would likely restructure his contract. I can only go by what's on the books right now. Right. That's all I can go by. Yeah. All right. So chill for a second. Hard pass. Yeah. But it is not a Dan Campbell. I mean, or a brand. There's no chance. There's no chance. It's not a brand. Oh, easy three one three. This is the most ridiculous trade talk ever. I wouldn't even entertain. No ish like this. Spenny, I'm, I'm stunned. I figured this is the has the sex appeal that, you know, like would be up your alley. I love Devonta Adams, like as a receiver, I think he's still one of the best receivers in the league. He's arguably the best route runner in the league and he's probably the best hands in the NFL. But no, I'm good. I'm with Sean. Gimme, gimme an edge. Gimme Trey Hendrickson. Gimme Max Crosby, if the Raiders are trying to sell, I don't need Devonta Adams on this team. What I need is an edge opposite of Aidan Hodgson. That's what I need. So I, when you're making the trades, when you're allocating that large amount of money that you have left to pay for some guys, you want to lock up like Kirby Joseph, like Aidan Hodgson. I would rather take an edge that I think adding a top tier edge would boost our chances of winning the Super Bowl much more than adding Devonta Adams. Also KG to entertain you for a minute. What do you, what are you giving me for it? What are you giving me for Devonta Adams? If I'm the Raiders. Ooh, good question. I assume they will want a first round pick. I give them a future first and oh damn, I would break your hand taking that down. I mean like future, future, like 20, 26, 20, 27 if they can offer that and probably some low draft capital, maybe a six from this year, if they got that, I know they are depleted and picks approaching this year, so. For reference too, because the Lions can't get in that third round discussion because they don't have. Yeah, they, they. Sometimes we have to take a time out though. Can we take a time out very quickly and this is, this is such a positive, okay? Let's take a time out very quickly. And remember where we're at. We are a fan base where we are openly saying right now, even KG, who's doing a good job of making the devil's advocate argument, by the way, okay? We are a fan base right now where four for four in this room, we are saying the Detroit Lions don't need Devonta Adams. What strange times we live in, we're cool, we're fine. We got enough. Okay. Again, I think sometimes we all have to do it. Here's truly included, we all have to have that stop and smell the roses moment. Because how many times were we devoid of talent here, there, everywhere with this franchise? And the mere fact, how did these conversations often start? Well, throw a receiver's name. Why would Devonta Adams want to come to Detroit? Might be the first thing that anybody would say, this is a destination for guys. Now this is a destination for guys that want to chase that ring. And I think if anything, while you guys were having that conversation, I sat back and gone, man, if things change, like Detroit's a destination. And conversely, here we're talking about a guy that still has a ton of game left, by the way. I'm not maybe going to put him as high as Spenny did, but I'm not going to argue too much with Spenny. One of the best receivers in the game, right? And I'm more so just going off the standpoint of the offense is clearly the strength of this team. Why not make a strength? I was told they're struggling. Don't listen to the fans. I hear you. I love I was told. I don't think enough is said about. I was told. Great, great. Yeah. Yeah, man. Let's let's get it in. New rule here for Feldman Automotive, there's 18 Feldman Automotive locations in and around the Metro Detroit area. We know about Feldman Chevrolet and Novi because they are Michigan's number one Chevrolet dealer. I can confirm I have my new Chevrolet from Feldman Chevrolet. Process was easy, it was, we did it while I was doing the show. I got done, got my car, literally. Peace out, like that was it everybody, it is that simple, it's the best car buying experience in the game. There isn't any Feldman Automotive location. What if you don't want a Chevy, you want a Ford, a Kia, whatever it is? All you have to do is want a car and go to Feldmanauto.com. You can even start the buying process online, again, the most refined buying process in the game. I know from experience earlier this week, Feldmanauto.com. I was told only both of those drive EVs. Don't. What are you going to do in the battery dial? Right. Oh, I'm going to put it on the charger. What are you doing in your car? It runs out again. I'm just saying, I was told. I mean, I do enjoy doing that, and by the way, my gas station's in the garage. Yeah. I just pull in the garage and put gas in my car. I'll never understand it. It could all be so simple. And guess what? The garage didn't burn down last night, still in the dash. All right, anyway, that's it for the tax break. Shout out. 100%. I got me right. No doubt about it. Oh. But no. Great news. What's that? What do we got? Breaking news. When news breaks, we break in. I'm straight up for Devatay. I'm not talking. No, it's not sports news. But Daniel Day Lewis appears to have come out of retirement and has recently seen filming a new movie called Avalon. No kiddies. Yeah. Dude, he's one of the best actors of all time. Oh, yeah. It's not even close, Benny. He's unbelievable. My son. That's my boy. Oh, my God. Such a good movie. There will be blood is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Oh, by the way, too, you see it up on the screen behind us. Siroquis hit the wings up. Why do you guys do this to me? Every gosh, damn it. Got it. Got it. Yeah. Because we're stupid like that. Okay, man. Right now. Okay. I'm going to go over here. Oh, got to show love to the spouses. Siroquis will be sponsoring the live watch party for the Tigers today. So, oh, you know, that entices anybody's thing. Ooh. Right. Absolutely. Well, we're sports chat threads. All right. I'll engage. KG. I'll engage with one of them. 14 grit. Oh, I thought you lay that detroit. What do you do with that? BS. Fill up your car and drive 300 miles. Yeah. Just like my Land Rover was 325. Right. Why? Like. And Deborah, I don't care about the style of vehicle. It gets me from point A to point B. But if you got money for a new car for me, then gladly go ahead. I like F one 50s. So, yeah. No, it is. Never to. The debate will never, I'll never understand it. No. But anyway, though, we're not here to do this. This is a, you know, a news cable news outlet. But Sean. All right. The lions. I think it's time. I think it's time to put this in stone. And I think it's time to put this out there that in fact, it is without a shadow of a doubt. One thousand percent true. David Montgomery, Jamir Gibbs are the best backfield in the NFL period. Fight me on it. Somebody fight me on it. And again, 30 style boxing, UFC, handicap match, table ladders and chairs. Catch me outside. However you want to do it, I will fight you on that, Sean. Okay. You know what? My first question would be Neil, if they aren't, who is? Go. I'm listening, really. I think we're listening right now. I don't know how anybody could say differently. And I know. Oh, look at that guy. He's got his lions pole over on and all that stuff. No, honestly. I like that jacket. Objectively. Thank you. Objectively. But please tell me, give me a submission, even if you want to play the role of KG and have that devil's advocate thing. I would love to hear your choice if they aren't. David Montgomery, by the way, like Spenny, you had the exact same reaction I saw you on Twitter. I was perusing. Like that was, we had our beast mode. Yeah. Like we did. That was like our beast mode. It was like, wow, did you just see that? He took a soul. He decided that I'm not done yet. I'm going to go. I'm going to go run laterally across the field with this man's soul on my back. And I'm going to continue to pick up yards the entire time. I don't know how the argument, but seriously, Neil, you got the chat. Somebody, please, just give me a suggestion. I would love to hear a suggestion, Neil. Are there any suggestions out there because I know, I don't know who could say that, right? It's just to like the complimentary styles, but like if you were going to go in a lab and draw up a backfield, like a backfield tandem, if you were going to go in a lab, that's what you would draw for real. They'll put your foot in the ground and change direction guy, the hammer that puts people into the ground, like the Von Witherspoon, whose dignity is still on the turf at Ford Field. Like that credit to him, he popped up. He got knocked over again, but he popped up because that was it was bad. No, no one has and you know what? It's funny because I think we had a pretty good tandem here about 10 years ago. I think that my boy, Joyk shout out and Reggie Bush were pretty good tandem and I wasn't a huge Reggie Bush guy. I think Reggie Bush had his limitations at this league, but in concert with Joyk Bell, that was a pretty good tandem. Can we all? Sean, it was one of the best single seasons in backfield history. And this is like that, but Stafford didn't have anybody, but that that line as bar was real low for rushing back then, no, no, no, one of the best in the history of the NFL. I understand that. Well, we were also fair Kevin Jones for a lot of that era. That's all I'm saying. We had to do a lot of suffering in order to get to that back. It's funny. I bet you were a big Kevin Jones guy when they drafted. I like Kevin Jones. I love Kevin Jones. I did too. I did too. I loved him. Damn. We missed on that. Me. Me. Not so much. We missed on that one. Yeah. But that and the other dude from Central Florida, Kevin Smith. Kevin Smith was solid. Yeah. The guy in college, right? I'm telling you, that's why I'm serious and I know a lot of people have pissed off at me. I was talking about PTSD, but when I see those black jerseys, I'm sorry. I have PTSD. I do. I think of Mike Williams with Cheeto stains all over his jersey. BMW. Yeah, like all that, like I have all the flashbacks. It just, that was the one. There are two. There were two that I whiffed on. The third one, there were three, but one I don't count because I wasn't. Later on, when I got friends in the industry, I learned the medicals on it and the medical people. The medical people with the lions tried to tell the people upstairs, boss Bailey has the knee of an 88 year old man. I loved Boston. They did listen. I loved him. The medical team told them not to take them and they took them anyway. So I exclude that one because I was as hype as anyone. Shut up. Bo Scarborough, Sam Reynolds. I was just about to say. Oh, Scarborough. Oh, Scarborough Jesus Christ. You see what I'm talking about? The bar. The bar we had to clear what that you know, see that I was wrong with Sean. Big Mike Williams, when he single handedly destroyed Michigan in the Rose Bowl, ran a touchdown, threw a touchdown, caught a touchdown, just set that stadium on fire. And then the other one was Aaron Gibson. You know, the thing with Mike Williams, Neil, you probably remember, I had a pretty big rant about it. I was so furious that they picked him. The thing about Mike Williams, if you got the Mike Williams after the Rose Bowl game, you may have been correct, okay? The problem with Mike Williams is he sat out a year and eight Funyuns got screwed. And she knows. Oh, he did. 100% got screwed by the NCAA, but at the exact same time, you have to be accountable for your own action. 100%. You don't sit around eating Funyuns and Cheetos and playing video games all day. I do. And it was funny because my buddy, Killer, told me pretty early on in the process because he knew how unhappy I was, everybody used the L word. And I'm sorry, I don't care what anybody says. The L word is the biggest cancer you can get and that's lazy. And you had multiple people saying, this is a lazy human being, okay? And the thing that Killer picked up, and this is why he was such a great beat writer, he said, I am convinced this is a guy that will look you in the eye, will look you in the eye, will look you in the eye, tell you exactly what you want to hear and then turn around and do the opposite. And that was, that was kind of Mike Williams mantra. It really was, but yeah, no doubt about it. I mean, there were a, there were a ton of misses. I mean, we all did, you know, you get, you get, you get, boss Bailey is the one. Richard Harper says, I'm guilty on Mike Williams too. Oh, I think a lot of people were, we all were talking to Chris Carter. Remember the, the Ohio State bucket, Chris Carter literally came out in the air with me the day before the draft, and, and he said, you know, he, if you remember, he did those run up mountains and things like that, the Chris Carter workouts, and he goes stay away from him. He's cancer. And it kind of took me aback, it kind of took me aback that you had a professional athlete talking like that. Never do that. Never do that. But for him to say that, like on the air, for him to actually say, stay away from him, cancer, lazy, doesn't work hard. Like if that didn't put up red flag after red flag, nothing will, and they went until come anyway. This is a fun little bit though. We see D three one three. Who the hell is Aaron Gibson? He was an offensive lineman from Wisconsin. He was six, six, 390 pounds, but he could dunk a basketball and do the splits. Yeah. That's what seduced me. The video of him dunking the basketball. I was like, Oh my God, he they had to specially make his helmet. His head was so big. And all these years later, Terry Foster come to tell me his mom was a clown, like a professional clown, like the car and does birthday parties and all that. And unfortunately, and unfortunately for him, you know, there was an injury history there that if you get a little bit, you know, that's, but he was he was unbelievable. He really was an incredible specimen. It's true. It's been the over their days, but he's like, man, I wish I was around 20 years ago. You don't. That was what an era long bars, man, Woodward sports chat there at Aaron to the stone. I was partial. Michael LaSjour for the six games. He was healthy. No, like they kill the shore for those few weeks though. Oh my God. He was amazing, man. A tour Detroit's Lions medicine rehab used to be awful before she loved my brother was best friends with Kaiwan Supernaw and they ruined them to her. That was they were elite. I know because I worked closely with with one of the doctors that was on staff. One of the trainers that was on staff. They were elite. I know how elite he was. And when Patricia came in here, he boomed all of them out. People will never realize the damage map at Tricia. He did to this franchise. We were supposed to be way. Sit back. Not on, not on drafting players or signing players or coaching bad. He came in and set fire to that organization from within within. And you know the product that he put on the field, right? Imagine in the field inside the office, trying to, you can't, you can't put Sean back me up on this. Can you hear the stories? I was, you know, I was part of the, the broadcasting. It was, you can't put in the words, like, like the, the terror at every, at every part of this franchise. To the extent of walking in the door going, that person's gone. That person's gone. Yeah. Just for the sake of it though. Just so you can turn this into the way you look. You cannot, and respected veterans, like really respected veterans, just chasing them off. It really, there's no way you can quantify that. Yeah. Carry on Johnson. Guilty. All right. We're lying. All right. Oh, just stop. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I did this to everybody. I'm sorry I did this. Let's ride. All right. New rules, Sean, Alicia, and KG Spencer, right? Get it out of your system. We off the rails. Mom was a professional clown, might be the funniest sentence I've ever heard in my diet. It's true. Hey, I wonder how the chat will do with this. Let's see, Sean, but there's some good stuff like Thunder God says Ryan broils. One funky Lions fan says Teddy layman was a guy that got me tight as young. And then there's Mike G top five clowns. Then there's Nick Pankone. Guess his mom was a bull's oh, Danny G. Neil, get the wheels back before the ship goes down. They already went down. Then I get a text from my mother that says, I'm dead with the clown emoji. Did you know there's a professional clown school in Wisconsin? Drew story. There we go. Makes sense. Wisconsin. There you go, it all came together, right? That's where Brandon Katz got his law. Clown college in law. Right. Okay. Good times. Good times. Yeah. There it is. That dude's lucky. Social media. Isn't it? Can we can we have just a moment though? I'm going to try to get it on on the rails again. Can we have just a moment to now talk about how different things are where you would say some of these names before and like my soul would hurt. My soul would hate for these guys that miss and now that the lions are an absolute legitimate franchise and as we talked about earlier, we don't need Devante Adams. It's almost therapeutic to to laugh at some of these misses before where before like I would get just downright depressed. Like Titus Young. That was another one. Okay. Don't get me started. Like honest to God and obviously he has other issues going on and you know and I'm not going to make light of that but like so many of these guys you you you had every year ever go back and look at every gosh damn draft. We saw we did that as a bit for a while where I just go through the 2010s drafts. Just go through them all do it one time if you want to torture yourself. Look at the lion's second round picks from 2000 to 2020. It's the worst. It's the so not only that but the the flip side to that bit is do you remember the absolute losers that had career days against the lions. We once did a segment like that on the air. I like a kid. Okay. To tell you how much people were getting involved I I crap you not Fox do I crap you not I had legitimate Detroit lion employees and former players texting us bringing up all the guys that had career games against the Detroit Lions. You know whether it be some loser quarterback like that day exactly they they should send Christmas cards he should send Christmas cards to the Lions for the rest of his days. Whether it be running backs whether it be some nondescript wide receiver before I would talk about things like that and it literally it hurt my soul now you can actually kind of sit back and giggle at it right like we were giggling at it and clown moms we can legitimately do things like that before like you start to laugh and then you go franchise hurts me okay now we can do that because we're in a pretty damn good place right now. What goes bump in the night this has been a solid lunch break you all have me dying tons of clowns emojis then there's Mike G top five clowns number one homie to clown. No homie don't play that. Number two insane clown posse lower on the list both bozo to clown we get about the grand prize they can some Joe Lopez I can see it yeah so I yeah that's I throw Pennywise in there from it yeah yeah Penny Pennywise did great work though he did let's be honest he's the originator of boothom kids that yeah that one took it too far for me a little bit spent he's just yelling and spending is spending dying laughing breaking news we got breaking news when news breaks we break in stick just just posted by detroit lions Twitter Jared golf your NFC offensive player of the week oh my god why would you do that yeah why would why would you do that that doesn't make any sense ladies and gentlemen doesn't make any sense I mean I'm sure you guys saw that like like how didn't he get the perfect passer rating like it that formula just I'm sorry this is stupid uh what it the touchdown passes needed to be three yards longer yes yes that's so dumb it is dumb yeah all right that's 70 so 70 yard touchdown pass wasn't long enough yeah no because the other ones were shorter and no joke that's a formula dude yeah that's a formula maybe we can sit back and save the formula socks I gotta take a inch I'm just checking on my boy Cajun oh yeah I was okay yeah yeah oh yeah all right all right by the way we're good the chat and big mad at Mike this isn't my list every people coming at me about my list I didn't make that list Mike G did and people are big mad no crusty the clowns on there oh crusty gotta be on there how can you write we're kind of like we're at fault we didn't even bring them up like seriously that's a shame on us dude we trust these outstanding let's go to break let's uh let's let's get this right let me tell you guys about the watch party and the post-game show both live from Hayes social presented by Newhall and brewing company Sam is coffee roasters Soroki crispy chicken and pizza and 1800 we're not going to be it's buying so I get another weekend off which is amazing but the week after that when the lions absolutely broke out of the cowboys in Jerry's world you can come see us at Hayes social again it's a Newhall and post-game show the live watch party presented by Newhall and Sam is coffee roasters Soroki crispy chicken and pizza and 1800 tequila come out and join us it's always a blast to prove that you can get just as strong at Planet Fitness we're seeing if people can tell the difference between our 75 pound dumbbell and a 75 pound dumbbell from an overpriced competitor gym okay the old flick test that never fails there's literally no difference plus you can save $28 or more when you join today wow why would I pay more to live the same way it's the planet fitness strong choice sale save $28 or more join for $1 down $15 a month cancel anytime deal ends October 10 planet fitness light price strong choice close check out our full line merch at Woodward sports dot com just click on shop we have all your favorite designs like Dan Campbell me caps Woodward golf and of course our own love without merchandise men women infants kids all love Woodward sports and pressure friends and pressure boss and pressure dog. All right keeping a push in here big D energy Woodward sports network Neil rule. Sean Belizean cagey Spencer Rechster Belizeans in for DMACC will do the top 5 list tomorrow because it's DMACC thing that he wanted so bad top 5 road trip snack. But we will we will get it in top 5 clouds is taken off in the top 5 everyone's all about it stick I was easy not on the top 5 clouds list. Yeah so there's that one out there as well. Can't trust Ronald McDonald man just some about him. I guess he needs to be there by default. I guess it just in brand recognition a little. Sean you're here can I ask a question this is for me of course red wings this year dot dot dot where we at. I think probably about the same position and I know people don't want to hear it but I think. You told me this is linear you told me that earlier. You know the problem that Neil it's so funny it we didn't I swear to God we didn't plan this. Neil and I were talking about somebody in who in town and I'm not going to say their name I'm not going to disrespect them but I think a lot of times people in the media tell you what they think you want them to hear. And it goes to what they think and it doesn't matter that Neil's not always going to be right I'm not always going to be right I'm not going to sit there and play that game. No Sean I've been right every time but everything I've said but no all jokes aside like like this isn't both things can be true situation. I think Steve Eiserman continues to build the right way it isn't happening as fast as is you'd all like I had a great conversation about this with somebody where they they said well why did a villa get so much heat and Steve Eiserman is not getting the heat. And let's forget that he's Steve Eiserman okay. Can you guys look at the move that Steve Eiserman made that made your jaw drop away. Seriously to the people out there that are really pissed off at Steve Eiserman and playing that game and there are a lot of them out there okay. Can you look at that trade that move that he made that compares in any way shape or form to Justin Verlander to JD Martinez to signing Zimmerman for the contract that he did. The problem is it isn't happening as fast as you want it to happen and I get that I understand that by the way I warned you back on April 19th 2019 that we were going to have this conversation five years later. Neil here we are and I know you've been fighting the good fight too. You know what this clock didn't start until when this season starts. You guys didn't want to hear it then you don't want to hear it now. Let's see where this is at at the end of the year. Honestly let's see where this is at at the end of the year. The problem that we all have to take into consideration is I think and this is where the linear stuff comes in Neil. We think that it's that Detroit Red Wings that are the only team going like this. In the meantime the Buffalo Sabres have been going like this. In the meantime the Montreal Canadiens have been going like this. There are a lot of other teams that are in that same position that are doing it kind of the same way. And dare I say maybe even have more talent than the Red Wings have right now that has made this proposition difficult but it isn't about just getting into the playoffs. Those are Steve words not mine. It's about taking that next step. It's about constantly being in that picture as he said on the day that he was hired. Will they make the playoffs this year? Gun to my head I'll say yes they sneak in. But are they ready to be that legitimate threat yet? I think we all know the answer to that don't we? I think we all know the answer. That doesn't mean that he's not doing it the right way. I firmly believe he's doing it the right way. Might take a couple years longer but I don't I don't see the move that that makes people go. What is Steve Eiserman doing? There's what you're doing and what you can't do yet. And I think that's where the Red Wings are at. But which sports chat thread 14 grit Red Wings are a playoff team. They just got to wait until December to get heated up. Dante 151 running backs Avion Quezon. receiver Azira Keem Carl Bland tackle George Foster just to name a few bad players that were on the Lions at one point. But Sean I just I don't get it and I still have yet to when I when I explain it to people this way in the the outrage because people felt like they had something taken away from them that they didn't get into the playoffs last year. And it was it's wild to me and I'll just run this by you real quick. It's wild to me that people thought when they had that little 14 and three run about February, they thought that was the norm. And then when they go three and 14 to finish it up, they're like what a collapse. No, that's just a 500 team being 500. That's how it works when you're a 500 team. They got on a little bit of a run. They gave it back towards the end. I just don't understand and I'll never understand. So maybe you can make sense of it. You probably can't. I don't get how because the Capitol scored two goals in Philadelphia the last day of the season that Iserman's bad at this and it's not working out strictly because the Capitol scored two goals in Philadelphia and one. Sean, that's the trigger point. I see you shaking your head, but I that's what I was told, Sean, about this and Iserman's not. And if you really want to break it down and you talk about how people want things linear, they're as linear as you can get. Oh, 100% every year, 100% has been a step up and up and up and up and up. Yeah, it's look it up. And well, and here's the thing. Okay, Washington doesn't Washington doesn't score those two goals. Okay, you make the playoffs. Do you feel better if they go to the first round of playoff and get small? They do. And I don't. They are a playoff team, Sean. Do you know? Do you know what the problem is, Neil? Again, I'm a firm believer. I learned this many years ago. All right. A lot of times the answers that you're looking for are given to you. If you take the time to listen, Steve Iserman said it the day he was hired. He said it. Look, this isn't going to be easy. This is going to be a long process. This isn't about just getting back in the playoffs. Don't take my word for it. Go back and look. I mean, the video is out there. This isn't about just getting back into the playoffs. This is about putting the Detroit Red Wings in that position that we all grew accustomed to. And, Neil, for the life of me, I don't understand it. Hey, listen, honestly, Neil, I feel this if they don't make the playoffs this year, I'm not going to go nuts about it either. I'm really not. And I know that's not what a lot of you guys want to hear, but I guess to the crowd that is so agitated about this, I ask you again, and I'm not being a jerk about it. Fox two, I almost used another word. I'm not being a jerk about it. What move didn't you like? What if you're one of those guys that you're playing the Alabama got killed on this time? Why do we have the same way to Steve Iserman? Okay. What move? I'm all for it. I'm listening. I'm serious. Yeah, I mean, a lot of people talk about the cop contract that they don't like as much the Petri deal. And, but those are, these aren't like these big debilitating contracts. Are we? It's certainly no frons. Listen, listen, okay, in fairness, Spenny, you're not wrong. They're not wrong. But can we compare and contrast that since you brought not you? Since you brought Alavilla into the into the situation. Can we compare bringing Jeff Petri home to getting, in essence, Jake Rogers for Justin Verlander? Dude, anybody? The floor is yours. I'm going to shut up. I'm going to sit back. You go ahead and you go ahead and make that argument. So when people say that kind of stuff, it's like, all right, time out. I get it. There's frustration. I get it. I'm not saying that everything he's done is perfect. No way. Nobody's saying that. No GM in the world. No GM in the world is doing that, but it's a little different, right? It's a little, it's a hell of a lot different. Come on. I have you here. So I'm going to, I've done this many times. I want you to take a turn. Todd Sane. It's because it's year seven. No sport. No sport gives GM or coaches seven years. Well, it's a couple of things coming to mind. Number one, it's not your seven. I think you know that. There's a way to wait a minute. You're supposed to win when you walk in the door with Jimmy Howard, Franz Nielsen, and just an applicator making 18 of your $60 million. You're supposed to win when you walk in the door. These are not my words. Okay. I swear to God, these are not my words. Those are Todd Sane's words. Now, whether, whether or not, whether or not you guys want to believe this is up to you. Okay. There's a reason why five years is attached to a rebuild in the national hockey lane. And all I will tell you is two general managers currently in the national hockey league today, right now. And by the way, neither of them is named Steve Eisenman told me with their own mouth, their own mouth. The thing that the average hockey fan doesn't understand is if you're going to undertake a rebuild, it's a five year process just to get good. That's their words, not mine. So Todd, with all due respect, with all due respect, if that's coming from a general manager, two of them I might add. All right, two general managers in the national hockey league told me with their own mouth. There's a reason why five year plan exists. I'm going to have to defer to that with all due respect to you. I understand your frustration. I understand that you expected parades and things like that. But it's just common knowledge that that's the way it works in the national hockey league, especially if you're not doing it with that superstar athlete. It'd be wonderful if you if you got Alex so vegica number one overall be wonderful if you got Sydney Crosby number one overall those those would be Conor McDavid whatever the case may be or number one overall pick five year plan. Five year plan is a thing, not one, but two general managers in their own unique way told me that that's one of the basic misunderstanding amongst hockey fans so take that for whatever you will. And take it to plan a fitness and work out everybody because this is live from the planet fitness studios I was there this morning it's chest day for spending. Our final segment of the show and just kind of wrapping up this. Yeah, dude kind of wrapping up this discussion Neil rule. Sean Belisian in for DMAT KG Spencer Raxter IT hips. They need to make the playoffs this year or I'll have doubts about Stevie. I understand but like give me give me the content like if it goes down like it went down here where you got five teams or four teams alive for the last spot and it's like a lottery ball bouncing around like that. I don't and I'll never understand the difference between getting in that last day getting cooked. No, no, no, no, especially I mean if you have a strong number one or even a number two. Hooray. We got in the playoffs. Hooray. We got to play games at Little Caesars, but right. I don't get it, but I understand the overall frustration. Neil, we can't. I think at the same time and this is where we have to kind of be respectful of the fans in this regard. I can say until I'm blue in the face to people. This is what general managers have told me. This is if you if you look at other teams that have had success. This is the reason why five year plan is a term and to credit to Steve Eiserman. Steve Eiserman never threw a number out there and he said constantly over the past few years. I don't have a number out there. I'd love to tell you it'll be this year. It'll be that year. But I can tell you definitively that the term five year plan is in place. Now, again, in a perfect world, everything would build to this year. You know, his clock started in 2019. It's now 2024 in a perfect world. Everything would lead to this this year. But what a general manager told me in Eastern Conference General Manager, by the way, what an Eastern Conference General Manager told me as part of the problem for a team like Detroit or like New Jersey. You and I were talking about the doubles during the break is is is now you have the Buffalo Sabres year after year after year of crap. Well, you know what? They actually have some talent now. And then you have the Montreal Canadiens who we already saw how talented they were those last two thrilling games last year. Well, guess what? Now all their kids are a year younger. And oh, by the way, they have another group of kids that they're ready to bring in onto the scene this year. So now it just gets more difficult. And that was what a particular Eastern Conference General Manager, again, not named Steve Eisenman, told me as he said, now the biggest problem for the Red Wings and their fan bases. There are going to be other teams that have been going through the same rebuild that they have that are now going to be legitimate serious threats because this division hasn't had the fall off yet. It's coming. But it has. You saw Tampa go like this. I think we can all say that. Tip of the cap to the run they have. Who is our architect by? They begun their initial descent into the airport. Yeah. And I think I don't think Boston's too far away. I really don't. I don't think Boston's too far away. They told you to get up and use a bathroom because they're going to begin their initial descent to the airport. The Maple Leafs are the Maple Leafs, 1967, bitch. And you know, Florida is the defending Stanley Cup champion, but how much. This division. Can I say that? I just said the text. But no, all jokes aside, I think a lot of us have been looking at to use your term, Neil, the initial descent. And by the way, the subsequent ascent of a few teams out there, Ottawa still can't get out of their own way. But in this division alone, Neil, in this division alone, you have Detroit, Montreal, and Buffalo that are all going like this. And that's what's going to be fun is to watch this division kind of flips upside down over the next couple of years because it's coming. It's coming. With Florida. And Florida's going to be right there. And Tampa. They've begun their initials. There's no doubt about that. And who farted says that too? The Red Wings are a playoff team. The problem is there's four other playoff teams just in the Atlantic division. It's a huge problem. A huge problem. Kevin Downson, remember, we were all stoked. The Pistons went with Blake Griffin to the playoffs and got cooked in four games. Those were good times. Yeah, that's the goal of years. Not even looking. No, it's just like, guys, I'll explain this before we cut out of here. Imagine a Brad Holmes drafted Penaisool and Amun Ross St. Brown and had to wait for them to play in college. Play for their junior team. Play overseas. Whatever the case may be like, that's, that's what we're talking about. It's is most cider and Lucas Raymond. You've gotten the fruit to those first couple of drafts right now. Do you like it? Does it taste good? Yes. There you go. Then what are we talking about? Okay, I got, don't worry, I got another week of this next week, the exact same. My statement doesn't change. And if it works out the same way, where they're alive on the last day and they don't get in and someone else goes off to the massacre, my statement won't change then. I feel the same way. I just don't look at anything earth shattering. He's done to make me go. Oh my gosh, he doesn't have a clue. And oh, by the way, he also has a pretty good track record too. When you take a look at the long term success that he was the architect of in Tampa. Absolutely. John Goodrun. Yeah, pleasure, man. I'll see you Monday. Monday. Monday. Yeah. Monday. K. G. Appreciate you. Spencer Raxter. Good job. All of you in the World Sports Chat thread. Thank you all for interacting, getting it in. Five, two shout out to you and shout out.
