The Passion Project
Introduction
Hey everyone, welcome to The Passion Project. My name is Emma and I'm the host and creator of The Passion Project Podcast. My goal when creating this podcast was to create a space where people can speak openly about their passions and what drives them each day. I came up with the idea as a freshman in college who was an undecided major struggling to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. When I would talk to friends, family, and faculty, I would listen to their stories of how they got to where they are today and what made them want to pursue their chosen career or their major. Many of my friends had extremely interesting stories about what propelled them into their decided major and future career path. Seeing how passionate they were about it gave me the idea to create this podcast. Each episode will consist of myself and a guest to talk about their passion and everything that goes along with that. Whether it's how they decided what they want to do as a career, it excites them on a daily basis, a side hobby that ignites some passion within them, or anything appropriate that they feel passionately enough to talk about for an episode. A little about myself, well, you heard my story about the creation of the podcast. That was almost two years ago today and I'm just now finally acting on that creative idea. It's been a journey on its own to get me to where I am today and I'm excited to finally be creating something of my own that I too am passionate about. I love learning and exploring which was a huge reason as to why it was so hard for me to figure out what I wanted to pursue in life at such a young age. But thanks to many friends, family, professors, and faculty members at UConn that helped guide me in my own exploration journey, I now know that I want to pursue my own dream to work in the film and TV industry. I'm still figuring out what exactly I want to do but I know that I want to work in that business and hopefully work my way up to become an executive or producer in the future. You'll definitely hear it come through in future episodes how passionate I am about film and television and how I believe it can truly change the world. Whether that's through representation that grants young children the freedom to dream big because they can see themselves on screen in front of them doing anything they want to do or in the way that movies and television spark a conversation that was never always talked about prior. I'm so excited to bring you episodes full of enthusiasm and joy for what is being talked about. Meeting new people and sharing ideas is an extremely valuable gift and I cannot wait to jump right in.
