Join us on Keyflug to show you can't ignore We ain't kevin dovin' deep until all things go low Comment book, movie, sci-fi, and action Thrilled with viewing new TV shows, we keep it real real We ain't missin' the absolute error wrestling at it, speak You're styled, you're from the A's and 9 days of memory, sweet, seek Pineapples for a lot of ratings, and you need touch Deep culture in our blood, we love it so much Deep love for a friend, we love it so much Keep us, where we talk about it all From superheroes to wrestlers, we stand tall We ain't kevin' the dynamic duo in sight Deep love, shining bright, shining bright Did you hear about truth or love, that's messed up right? Keep on takin' you on the start, you fly from movies to TV To cover it all, join us in every week we'll have a ball Hey, welcome everyone What's goin' on? But not too much Welcome to another episode, episode 142 We are gonna first talk about the new iOS 17 that released this week We're gonna bring you an iOS for your phone If you have an iPhone, we're gonna talk about all the features that came out this week What I noticed first off was the photos had a complete overhaul Basically, that's what it looks like All streamlined, all completely all on one page Yeah, it looks good Next thing is the calendar app, completely changed as well Simplified, also, the add of the ability to see your reminders If you have reminders like we do for our calendar awesomeness It's all in a part of your calendar now Yeah, so it's pretty cool to actually be able to see The movies are coming up or anything that we're geekily obsessed over Like next Wednesday's Mr. McMahon documenter The home screen, completely changed as well You're able to move apps anywhere you want Not just in rows, you can put two on the bottom if you want All separately from everything else You can also resize the widgets right directly on the screen So if you want to make it smaller or larger to take up the whole screen you can Also, you can go on the right there You can go everything dark mode, all the apps and everything turned to a black Instead of in the standard green that we've had for years And I also noticed that the calculator app changed completely You can see the whole equation is on there I never used to be able to see that Of course, I think you're fucking moving here And CarPlay As you can see, the cover art is bigger Everything is pushed to the left side All the controls for pause and 15 seconds skip and rewind I'll push it over to the left compact on that side Also noticed that the volume was a little louder Listening into the car, I don't know if that had anything to do with the update or not But it could be because I used to listen to it on 20 and now I'm listening to it on 15 And it's just loud enough Oh nice, that should be good All the volumes and issues and times Yeah, yeah, overall, I do like it I like the dark mode, I put it on dark mode immediately I also like being able to rearrange I've rearranged my whole entire phone in the last couple of days I put apps in new places I've updated the widgets, made them bigger, added new ones deleted some that I didn't like before But being able to have that full control is almost like having a desktop in your pocket finally Getting little by little we're getting closer to having the actual Mac in our pocket Instead of just having an iPhone I think eventually it's all gonna, there's not gonna be really a bridge there It's all gonna be the same But before we get into what we watched this week, Metallica Kevin, I don't know, I know you're working in June But I think we may need to go to one of these dates They're coming back with the M72 tour The third year in a row They have eight shows that are no repeat weekends Where they play nothing The second night they play the first night and so on and so forth However, they're being opened by Limp Biscuit This is a 90s kid's dream And Pantera and suicidal tendencies on the second night They're gonna be in Tampa On June 6th and 8th Circle that date on your calendar, Kevin Although you're working They're gonna be in Columbus, Ohio A few other places, Philadelphia From everybody that I know, you had a friend that went We're getting the Snake Pit in Toronto, right? We've been there in Metallica I was talking about this last world tour, the No Repeat weekend one Didn't you have it, didn't Ben went to it? Yeah, Ben, you went backstage and met them all Yeah, those tickets were like 20 grand each Yeah, I heard they were expensive And the Snake Pit, I remember he was right up to the front They have a whole bunch of cool stuff going on with their concerts now But tickets are expensive, ridiculously expensive You're travelling too, but mark that in your calendars If we win the lottery, we'll want to bring that up What we watched this week Washed quite a bit Briefly gonna talk about only murders in the building I don't want to talk about it because you're not watching it And there's not much to really say Besides, just watch it, it's a good show We're on season 4 of the show, it's already picked up for our next season It's very good Same with the rings of power, not much to say about that as well You already know that they're making the rings of men We do get a quick cameo of the creature that takes Frodo in the water at the gates of Moria And the Fellowship of the Ring, we see that creature We see the orcs finally attack an Eragon, Eragon, Eragon, or whatever Under Sauron's gaze, he's watching everything from the top of the towers He's still manipulating Calibramor who's making all the rings at the forge And Sauron said the thing a bunch of times, precious Which sent IGN in a frenzying and they're saying Why does he have to say precious so many fucking times? Yeah, great show, I think it's good A lot of people aren't complaining about it, but they've complained about season 1 too You're gonna get the same complaints for season 2 Because it's not Peter Jackson, number 1 And number 2, I believe they can't even touch the Lord of the Rings books No, they can't Or it's a similterian and they can only touch all the other non-rings books So let's get into another show that debuted this week Agatha all along, a new MCU show The spin-off/sequel to WandaVision Starring Catherine Hahn as Agatha the Witch I thought this show is getting mixed reviews I thought this show was fantastic I thought the horror element was great There's a couple of jumpscares that literally jumps me Because I was watching it at night right before bed There were two episodes that debuted Episode 1, following the WandaVision formula Was a spin-off, kind of like true blood/mayor of east town Whereas a spoof like her being a detective Trying to figure out who this body they find in the woods If you see in the trailer, it's hinted to that it's Wanda Well sure enough, it's Wanda Not sure how the body was put there Not even sure if this is a real reality I don't think it is, I think this is kind of all in her imagination Because if you remember the end of WandaVision She's stuck in this hex in Westview After she fucked up everything Wanda turned into the Scarlet Witch She got stuck there in prison for 3 years Wanda was killed So the hex cannot be broken There's a witch dead The hex cannot be broken because the witch was killed It created it So the first episode was all about her breaking out And her investigating this body that she finds We end up meeting Aubrey Plaz's mystery character We still don't really know who she is We know she's a witch of some kind But Agatha ends up breaking free of the hex With the help of a new character Brought up called Teen We'll get into that in episode 2 But this show For, I'm surprised For an MCU show on Disney+ Artie has nudity Artie talks about Jade Eggs and Kegels Artie talking a lot about lesbian stuff There's a one scene where Wanda and Aubrey Plaz I'm not Wanda, Agatha and Aubrey Plaza Completely almost have a lesbian showdown In the middle of her living room And there's a really sexy scene I'm sure there's gifts going all around Where she cuts Agatha's hand Puts it up to her and licks it And the wound goes away Very hot actually But Agatha in this episode Assembles a witch's coven To travel the witch's road And when you get to the end of the witch's road You can pretty much get whatever you want I don't know if it's like I really don't understand it I never read the comic book I don't know anything about it This is all new But it's to get her powers back Because she's lost her power since everything happened And Joe Locke, who is this character playing Teen He's a mystery character And every time in the show He's trying to tell Agatha About his past and who he is His lips literally get sealed At one point they're driving in a car And he's telling her who he is And he gets muted and all the other sounds around her Are still going on like the car radio's happening But you can't hear what he's saying A very cool visual thing that happened in that But the horror element of the show is being teased We're only two episodes in and out of nine We have single episodes all the way up until Halloween day And then there's gonna be a two episode finale Halloween on I think October 30th But overall I liked it a lot And of course like WandaVision three or four years ago The Mephisto shit was everywhere in this episode At one point she calls Aubrey Plaza calls herself Blackheart In the comic books I guess that is the son of Mephisto His name is Blackheart And of course Mephisto was the big thing With WandaVision Everybody thought Mephisto was everywhere So we're not really sure about that But overall I loved it And I can't wait to watch it next week When the next episode debuts Another episode debuted last night I thought this was fantastic too A DC and got marble first night Second night we got DC And we got the penguin coming back It's been off of The Batman, Robert Pattinson's Batman A court met, of course Matt Reanfield You talk about it on the podcast all the time Episode one debuted Weird because the episode debuted last night On Thursday and we're not going to get another episode For another nine days It's going to be debuting on Sundays Next week on the 29th But we'll talk about it in a couple of weeks Number one Slush puppies My favorite Slush puppies over Icy's Any day Or slush puppies Or anything, yeah anything Slush puppies are double I had a kid text me this morning And he was like This show had like You thought slush puppies and slush puppies were the same thing And I didn't explain to him like The slush puppies had a little bit more liquid They were a little bit sweeter There was more syrup involved Yeah I missed blue raspberry Slush puppies were the best And it was actual ice crystals too Like the slush is going to fall me And I know I'm not a big huge fan of Icy's and slushies But At one point Icy's playing And nine to five The song by Dolly Parton starts playing I thought that was funny as fuck And of course the credits played that too The kid in the room I have a picture of him here in the notes Recognizable because he's in hook He's a little kid in hook And one of the lost boys He plays one of the henchmen For Falcone daughter Kind of sitting at the board room there But overall I thought the episode was great Two things I want to talk about They were going viral completely on social This was a Notification from Gotham PD About safety Because there's a lot of shit going on in Gotham Now this is set up right after the Batman The whole show If you've seen the Batman you know that the city was flooded So it's all the aftermath of that There's a lot of refugees in the city that don't have homes Because everything was flooded out I thought it did a great job depicting that Another thing I want to talk about Is being a paper boy I think on the podcast we talked about Back in 2015 when I got the Back to the future We had that on the show While the Boston Globe came out with This week Of course it's not going to show We showed it last week The Gotham Gazette Well they have the full thing on here I got one for each of us I actually have five extra two people Yeah The whole thing is a pull out I'm trying to get it without doing that It opens up as a whole A whole article is built in there It has a back page too All fake articles about this world So very cool Next time I see you I'll give you yours Yeah I'll go through things I like from the episode The kind of O to Jason Todd Where if Batman had caught that kid It would have been Jason Todd The amount of humor in it Like you said when he gets to the car He starts playing it plus the kids Like constantly on his tippy toes And he's always like "K, would you relax?" Just little things in there Very subtle but they're very funny Super to the way that Batman was With thumb drive stuff like that Overall they definitely Cooked with this show Yeah I can't wait to see you in the next episode Definitely set you up for one Another show debuted on Netflix I have not watched the whole thing I don't know how far did you end up Finishing Twilight of the Gods Episode 5 on Okay I'm on episode 3 I'm on episode 3 I think it's good to the animation style It's weird However I was surprised Within 5 minutes of seeing a Huge animated dong Hanging down past the guy's knees How are rated I had no idea how are rated This actually was Bloody, it's launching Sexy as hell Zack Snyder directed every single episode I think, correct? I'll leave it on London Like the first and the last That's why the first episode is so good Because he didn't write any of it He's basically a producer or director on it Jay Olivia is the one that basically Is the showrunner for it Jay Olivia of course was involved with Snyder with the DC stuff Okay The animation style is weird But I haven't watched a really good animated thing In a very long time Well, Terminator 0 was great That was good One thing that is weird about Snyder Two, I've noticed Every time he has a project coming out He fucking posts a picture from his DC stuff saying I don't think I showed you guys this This time it was a fucking storyboard From his Justice League When he said Joker holding My man holding the card So people were like Oh my god, Joker That ain't just seeing Joker, Joker doesn't exist And I'm like Why is he edging his fan base still? He's been gone since 2017 He's edging his fan base It's kind of pissing me off as a fan of his That every time he releases a product A project he has a non It's because he knows his fans will be rough But he released it Something that has nothing to do with that project He just posts a photo on his very account And stuff he was doing with DC It's very annoying in the fan of his The most volatile fan base Is this a meta reverse people? We talk about it all the time Star Wars up there too We add instant bases Star Wars is pretty bad too Especially because it's been revamped so many times But Snyder can't do no wrong And that means even his bad movies Are getting rave reviews And bad things that he comes out with Is getting rave reviews That's why the gods have a good run So now his fan base For the first time in 15 years Is able to see You just spent 15 years sitting around to me It doesn't mean anything And now it means something You're moving your goal posts here people But overall title of the gods is excellent Really enjoying it I'm not huge fan This time on Mythology But it's good All these characters are familiar So that was it for the new shows That came out We're going to be watching these for the next few weeks I think the next one that will be Finaleid would be Rings of power in a couple weeks We have their finale So I decided I didn't have anything to watch this week And we've been talking about Turtles a lot lately Especially when we talked about toys That made us a couple months ago I want to take it into the Teenage Modern Ninja Turtles movies I haven't watched Now the legacy of Ninja Turtles for us Of course we talked about it a little bit With toys that made us But the action figures were huge This year is actually the 40th anniversary of Ninja Turtles It happened back in the springtime And they put a new We talk about it all the time They put the landmark symbol Landmark symbol up in Dover, New Hampshire Where we're close by Where I'm literally five minutes away It's a sewer grate With the Ninja Turtles on it You see it on the ground They also have a landmark sign up there Talking about the Ninja Turtles I haven't been there yet I only live five minutes away So it's a big huge part of Not only our childhoods But just the area in general Everybody talks about Ninja Turtles The guys who created it He sold his rights back in 2011 or 2009 I think he sold his entire Ninja Turtles to Nickelodeon That's why we're getting all these movies now And while we started getting them In 2014 with the reboot of Michael Bay's Ninja Turtles movies We're going into it in a minute But we had the action figures We watched the cartoon We had the video game, the arcade game on the Nintendo I had that in Super Mario Those were my first two games on the original NES But the 1990 motion picture And the two sequels after Especially "Secret of the Us" Were just huge in our childhoods We were right in the prime of our childhood We were six, eight Between the two movies The first one Definitely, they don't really hold up as much But I do like the first one My nose moving around That one too But the second one The Ninja Rap song with Vanilla Ice Earning the Asian kid who becomes friends with the Turtles I think the first movie was Donatello under the costume I can't remember, he was one of the Turtles in the first movie Yeah, I think it was Donatello Yeah, I ended up playing a main character in the second movie And of course "Super Shredder" Who was played by Kevin Nash, the wrestler Kevin Nash Which we didn't know about until later But yeah, just a great Even though the movies are campy Of course, a capsule in time when we were in our childhood It still resonates with us weirdly To a point where, I mean, we're older now Took me a while to watch these movies ten years To be exact 'cause this movie came out in 2014 But Michael Bay came back, produced The remake of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" After "Transformers" became a huge success They were looking for more IP, especially Nickelodeon Bringing in this new brand that they purchased from Leard Who owned the whole entire thing, Eastman ended up selling his part of the thing And then Leard sold everything, he didn't want anything to do with Turtles anymore And gave the reins to Nickelodeon to do practically whatever they wanted with it So he came in, re-readed the Turtles from the ground up First thing they did is they hired Megan Fox to play April O'Neill Will Arnett just came out of SNL at the time he became a part of the cast Wovey Goldberg had a quick cameo as the lead of the news department at the news station Abby Elliott, who's the sister in the bear, she was in this right out of SNL William Ficher, he's a character actor, you've seen him in everything He plays Eric Sacks Alan Richton was the voice of Raphael, of course, he's the Reacher Alan Richton was the voice of Raphael, of course, he's the Reacher now Noel Ficher, Mickey from Shameless, was the voice of Michelangelo Johnny Knoxville was the voice of Leonardo And Tony Shalub was the voice of Master Splinter Cameo from Kevin Eastman as a doctor in the movie Carmelo Anthony was in it as well, a few other people In this movie, the Foot Clan had machine guns That was kind of weird The Foot Clan also had these weird satin masks They were weird, I don't like the Foot Clan in this movie Also, I don't like April O'Neill's origins Were kind of mixed with the ninja turtles in this, it was retconed I didn't like that as well, where her father was the one that kind of created the ooze that turned them into turtles And she was also the one that named them when she was a younger kid I didn't like that, Stretter looks like a mutated Swiss Army knife, a direct quote in the notes that I put there He literally has all these knives coming out of him, I thought that looked fucking weird The Turtle Van, legit at the end of this movie was just for the action figure line It looked exactly like the one that was in that we had growing up, I remember having The Shop Pizza line That shot pizzas, and actually it actually happened in the second movie Another case of creativity versus studio influence You can definitely get that from these movies, especially in the older ones too Where they're trying to do the action figures, this is all for kids now These are adults, we're adults talking about a kid's property For something that we love growing up, but it's not made for us anymore Money action figures come first over quality, basically We've talked about that before, but CGI in 2015, I thought the Turtles looked okay But the practical effects in 1990, when you first saw the Ninja Turtles on I think I saw that movie, the first Ninja Turtles movies in the theater in 1990 They were on the screen, it looked fucking cool Raphael with the trench coat, with the hat, everything, the fedora, it just looked awesome So I decided to go further into this watch, go into 2016 There was a sequel to this movie, Out of the Shadows Okay, on 2016, did not do as well as the first one, the first one kind of did okay Second one did not do well Most of the cast returned except for Johnny Knoxville and did not do the voice of Leonardo And the casting got even stranger In this one we see Bebop and Rocksteady for the first time in live action Rocksteady played by Seamus from the WWE Strange casting right there Also the first time in live action we see the Alien Crang If you remember the animated series, Crang was this big purple pink blob That lived inside this robot, the big giant seven eight feet tall robot He was in the middle of its abdomen, controlling it like a robot And he was kind of like the leader of the foot cleaning with shredders Wasn't he a brain, wasn't he? He looks like a brain, he looks like a brain He's an alien, even in this, he's an alien from Dimension X or something Even in this, he's voiced by Brad Garrett from Everybody Loves Raymond Tyler Perry plays Baxter Stockman, who ends up being the fly guy in the animated series They didn't actually do that, we'll talk about that in a minute But fan casting for a fan favorite character Casey Jones, who was in the original Ninja Turtles movie Was played by Stephen Amell right during the hype of Arrow Stephen Amell came in and played Casey Jones, of course he wears the hockey mask He has the skates, he has the hockey stick that was his weapon He also has like a rugby stick too or something In this movie the very beginning Kevin Eastman comes back plays a pizza guy named Kevin The turtle van is now a turtle dump truck And then, like you mentioned in the first one, this is the one that actually shot the sewer manhole covers As projectiles in the beginning of the movie The movie had dimension portals, crang of course, his robot body was in this And the techno drone, which was a big huge action figure shaped like the Death Star Where crang and the foot soldiers and shredder all had their underground layer Out off ground layer where they all hid and plotted their next move against the Ninja Turtles And that shows up in this as well Bebop and Rocksteady, I thought looked pretty good Considering what this movie was Sheamus is weird to hear the voice coming out of Rocksteady, but hey, whatever In this movie, Casey Jones was a security guard Turned vigilante after he lost Bebop and Rocksteady Who were in his guard as a security guard and they escaped There's an updated theme song in the credits, theme song from the animated series Which was Teenage, Ninja Turtles, blah blah blah This movie was better reviewed, I liked it actually After I read that, but it failed at the box office A third film was planned Eventually a scrapped Baxter Stockman's fly transformation was planned In that cancelled sequel And yeah, other than that, it was done It just did not do good at the box office Studio signed off on another reboot Not too long ago This time animated and produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Of course, they've done a lot of movies up until then Called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem This came out last year, 2023 I remember you talking about the animation I remember you talking about the animation style being weird Also a rip-off of course, Spider-Verse A little bit, although you also got those lines In the original Ninja Turtles comic book The way that Eastman drew the lines on there Or Laird, I can't remember who was the artist, I think it was Eastman The lines were prominent in the artwork for the Ninja Turtles And they did show that kind of in the artwork for the animation style And this was, I thought, pretty cool Again, this was definitely made for kids In fact, the turtles were D.H. Their teenagers, when they were never really teenagers before This time they were played by actual teenagers doing the voices for this All unknowns as well, so we don't know any of the names Jackie Chan was splinter John Carlo Esposito played a little quick cameo in Baxter Stockman in the beginning EO, whatever, from the bear played April O'Meal They changed the race into an African-American woman John Cena plays Rock Steady, Seth Rogen played Bebop Who, by the way, in this movie, were not really bad guys They don't know if that's going to set up in the second movie or not Whether it's going to be a sequel to this Rose Byrne played Leatherhead The villain of this movie was Superfly played by Ice Cube Paul Rudd played a comedic character called Mondo Gecko Post Malone did a character called Rayful Lay Hannibal Burris did Genghis Frog, Maya Rudolph Was the kind of semi-villain of this called Cynthia Ultram I don't know who that is either Soundtrack was New York '90s hip-hop and pop There was a quick Ninja Rap, Vanilla Ice Easter Egg in this A mix of Ninja Turtles retcon Actual teenager origin, which we've never seen Also a weaker discipline from splinter You don't get that same discipline that we saw in the movies and prior Ninja Turtles Where they were disciplined for all the stuff that they were doing It was like a ninja discipline for them All before the foot clan, no foot clan, this All before Channel 6 News And all before Shredder, which was the after credits scene We see Shredder looking over the city TCRIs following up a tease of what they're going to be doing in the sequel And Shredder's looking over the city talking about how he needs to make Turtle Soup or whatever he says Overall, very good movie, not our demographic But Ninja Turtles just plays a huge part in our lives as kids So I did want to do this watch I'm going to get over to Dover eventually and go see that sewer grate And the landmark are over there and I do want to see it in person Because it's just a huge part, a huge part in our life growing up The action figures alone and everything And the last part of this, of course, they're going to be making a sequel to Mutant Mayhem They actually have an animated show on Paramount Right now, which I have not watched But they are going to be doing a sequel to that But they're also doing another live action movie They've already announced this Called The Last Ronin, which we've talked about on the show before Set in a futuristic dystopian future Where all of the Ninja Turtles except for one have perished And the last Ninja Turtle who survives Has all of their weapons, carrying all their weapons, these on a revenge task To seek revenge for whoever killed all of the Turtles And who killed Splinter, I believe And all of his friends and everybody that he knew and loved Don't know much more about that Eastman came back and wrote it in Lear It was a story that they had in the 80s That's the only thing I know about it He came back about ten years or five years ago And wrote this story for The Last Ronin And yeah, I can't wait Rumor, fan speculation I saw online is Dame Tahin Playing the character and whatever this turtle is I still don't know, I've been purposely I didn't want to do any research for The Last Ronings I don't want to know who that Last Turtle is Because all of the Turtles have a different personality If it's Michelangelo, that changes the whole story If it's Raphael, it changes the whole story Donatello is the nerd, it changes the whole story Wherever the Ronin is, you don't know, The Last Ronin So I'm kind of staying away from it as much as I can I didn't even want to Wikipedia Because I was afraid I was going to see who it was But I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out And I'm not sure, I think I'm going to wait to read the comic book Until after the movie comes out Yeah, we'll definitely do that review Yeah, very excited about that We are in week three of football movies This weekend I decided to watch a movie I did not know it was a made-for-TV movie But it's called Brian Song ABC made this in 1971 Was for a made-for-TV movie True story of NFL player Brian Piccolo He played in the 1965-1969 seasons for The Bears He being diagnosed with terminal cancer And his friendship with fellow Chicago Bears teammate Gail Sayers who ended up writing the story That this movie was based off of He ended up staying by his side until his death in 1970 And then they made this a year later, this movie The movie star James Kahn has been Brian Piccolo Billy D. Williams, way before Lando Who played his friend Gail Sayers, the author of the story Jack Warden, I mean, he's a character actor Of course, he was in dirty work He was in all the problem child movies He's a whole bunch of movies too, besides those two movies But Dick Buckkiss plays it The Chicago Bears had a cameo in this But yeah, I thought it was really good It was only like an hour and fifteen minutes So it was a really quick watch, which I was thankful for After everything I watched this week Well, it was good for TV, so it was like two hours on TV And they remade it in the 90s Yeah, with a high fire version Yeah, yeah, okay, fire for Overall, very, very good And one of those movies, everyone has it Everyone has it on their list of top sports movies I understand why, it's a good story I also watched Necessary Roughness, which I've seen before It came out in 1991 starring Scott Bakula, Sinbad, Rob Schneider A lot of character actors that you know That you've seen in other movies too Movies okay, it can't be It's just one of those comedy football movies If you want to see something on you So next week is the last week of football movies And we're going to be watching Friday Night Lights A movie that you have been wanting me to get into the TV show I have not seen the movies since theaters So I've seen the TV show probably three times over Since they came out, so I'm really looking forward to this I might watch it tonight Cool, I'm actually just thinking about watching it tonight Friday Night Lights came out of what? 2001, something like that Probably 2001, we're in high school Okay, yeah, we're watching it That'll be the last football movie And then we'll get into October A lot of shit to talk about in October We'll get into that next week This week we decided We decided on the podcast last week Then we're going to talk about We're going to get to this road A bumpy road The kind of ends It kind of begins But it begins on a very cool, very nostalgic way A very high note that goes down This is not a happy road But the beginning of the road is fantastic We're going to talk about all about the crow tonight Or today, whenever you're listening to this Of course, starring Brendan Lee We all know the tragedy that happens We'll get into that We'll get into all the facts of the movie He plays Eric Dravin Ernie Hudson plays a police officer Right after No, no, no, no, no, no Right after Ghostbusters Michael Wenka We talked about him a couple weeks ago He's so good at everything Yeah, when we were talking Alien Yeah, that's what he was saying Alien 3, he's great Kevin Costner, Robin Hood movie He was great in that Kevin Costner Kevin Costner Oh, yeah, shit This dude is a fucking beast And every time he's a villain He's amazing in this movie, too Tony Todd, who's in a lot of movies, too Can't even hear me And so many other recognizable Character actors We're not going to get into their names You're not going to who they are But you watch the movie and know them That guy, I've seen him and stuff This movie set in Devil's Night Which is the night before Halloween In Detroit, of course, if you're Fans of M&M D12, the group You know Devil's Night was the name of their album Where it was the night where they set everything On fire the night before Halloween And that's basically the back drop Of these little movies It really embellished in the movie But that's all easy for a fact Yeah, they're actually doing the explosions Rather than setting on fire They're like eight miles If you listen to the Devil's Night album You kind of get the picture of what's going on there Yeah, soundtrack Mid-90s, all grunge The big song coming out of there Was "Sto Temple Pilots" I can't remember the name of the song But it came out of the soundtrack The whole album is grunge, metal, emo, nine-inch nails Very, very cool Very industrial We'll get into some facts about the movie Based off the comic book, which we've talked about before 1989, Sears created by James Zobar He wrote what would become the crow As a means to cope with his unexpected death Of his fiance who was killed by a drunk driver And to give you a little back story About James Zobar In this whole situation Is he was a foster child kid Like he was Never like loved as a child And he met this girl And I believe they were still in high school They were seniors in high school And he just fell head over heels for her And of course She dies in a car accident By a drunk driver Or they assumed it was a drunk driver The guy was never caught And the whole thing was he went out And he was like "No, I got to ride home" And then he didn't So she was going to pick him up When she got killed Which is why James Zobar Would do a very dark place He entered the military Over the course of eight years He was drawing these just to cope with everything And then of course Eventually he started writing a comic book out of it When a new... A guy that owned a comic shop wanted to start his own comic label And found no bars drawings And asked him to Kind of flush everything out into a comic book And that's how he sold it to This guy to get distributed Interesting Yeah, and then with his first meetings With a major studio He quickly dismissed it The studio's vision for the film And every first time was going to be a musical Starring Michael Jackson He's like "Nope, that's not my vision of this No thank you" And then the other one was Someone wanted... He asked about somebody that wanted to turn into a series of films That would be PG-13 And he decided to just not do that I believe that was a new line that wanted to do that He decided to just keep the lyrics for himself And sold them themselves so he could keep everything Original casting ideas River Phoenix Christian Slater to play Eric Dravin Did not happen Of course, we know Who that was actually cast to That allegedly turned it down Okay, I didn't see that But it would make total sense right after Edward Scissory hands Brendan Lee Was cast Son of Bruce Lee Bruce Lee died very young We'll get into all the macabre of that in a minute But he dropped 20 pounds to play this character Trained like crazy Worked like... worked closely with the crew To shape not only the movie But the choreographed the stunt work He did most of the stunts himself He had the director Basically hold themselves up in the hotel room For about three weeks before they started shooting Watching all these classic like Hong Kong action flicks And Lee also A little known thing is He was also signed up for three movies Because he wanted to turn this into like The first comic book franchise Outside of Batman And so there was going to be multiple Chrome movies starring him in it I'm glad that you mentioned that Because we're talking 1994 There are no comic book There's Batman and Superman That's it And this took the movie by storm There was a TV show Incredible Hulk was a TV show of course But this was the first time You actually saw something so dramatic It wasn't so campy But it was fantastic But it was filmed in Willington, North Carolina Dead of Winter Same facility where the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Were filmed in 1990 1989 a couple of years before And then I mean the most notable thing The macabre part of this Was the tragedy that happened on set March 31, 1993 Michael Massey's character Funboy, who's seen in the movie Ends up being The apartment scene That they keep showing is flashbacks The apartment invasion Where this gang comes in Ends up killing Eric Dravin and his girlfriend They have this Supposed shootout In the bathroom In this scene And a prop gun What was supposed to be a prop gun Was on set The fakes in the gun Were not checked properly Firearm specialists that were supposed to be on set Left early that day Living in a prop assistant Who was completely unexperienced With everything In charge Kind of sounds familiar Of the stuff that was happening with Alec Baldwin last year The gun was not properly checked and loaded And Lee was mortally wounded In the abdomen Right on set by this guy I didn't have a picture of the guy He's another character actor We've seen in a bunch of movies He quit acting for like a year After that happened at least Understandably But at this point The movie had almost all Been completely filmed Except for three more days of filming left There was all involved in the apartment scene Where the invasion was happening All that stuff was not filmed Except for the scene where the shootout was starting to happen There was one scene where he was going to have somebody explain to him Going into the third act What was actually going on? Remember he has that scene in the apartment With Albrecht and he's like I don't know what I am, I don't know if my ghost Eventually there was going to be a scene filmed They already cast the guy, he was flying into that weekend And to explain everything to the character Eric before going into that last fight So like it's kind of like ambiguous Or you don't know if he can die going into that last fight or not Because they never got to film that scene And that's a character, I was reading it a little bit That was a character in the big part of the comic book too They wanted to bring into the story But they never did Paramount Pictures financed the movie For an initial $15 million But often out of the distribution After this tragedy happened Brendan Lee of course passed away They took a break on set Everything froze Until they found a new studio To do the film rights To release the film in theaters Which ended up being Maramax Came in, gave them another $8 million To finish the movie Did some reshoots, rewrites Rewriting the flashback scene Like you mentioned in the beginning And adding narration to the film Wasn't a part of it as well Which is why he's barely in the flashback scenes Because they already had to do it without him Lee's stunt double Ended up finishing the scenes for him Used digital face replacement In the unfinished scenes Featuring Lee As a likeness It was all the apartment scenes Film was released on May 13, 1994 Almost a year later Ended up being Friday the 13th Total budget ended up being $23 million Made $94 million Not a huge, I mean, made about A quarter, made 3/4 back of a quarter What they put into it Made $50 million in the North America region But the home video And the merchandising And the cult following of this movie Has made it so profitable And of course the soap was happened as well Obar After losing Lee After the tragedy And everything that happened With this fiance and all of that stuff Having to relive that over and over again He's regretted ever writing the comic book In the first place, I don't know if that's changed This isn't a Wikipedia article that I got this note Yeah, he's, I've seen that interview The interview, I believe, was in the early 2000s But yeah, he did say that Yep But they ended up making four more sequels Because this is a cult following Everybody loves this movie Huge, we're going to talk about the 90s Cultural impact of this movie in a minute But four more sequels Including the new one that came out this year Retelling sequels, whatever Two season TV series Which you said, you watched No, I'd never saw it I like the one I've heard very bad things Yeah, okay And multiple attempts of reboots, of course Rob Zombie's The Crow 2037 DMX is The Crow Lazarus, but I've heard about that Which, we'll get into that more when I've got a whole set of notes I'm going to do for before we watch When we reviewed the remake that just came out But basically, the idea of that was Two rappers That have beef Beef, and this was of course Because back then it was still like Kind of still kind of the biggie in Two Rock thing Early 2000s, the beef was going on So it was going to be two rival rappers That One of them kills the other one And the rumor at the time was Eminem was going to be it Because he was just done filming eight mile So it was going to be Eminem versus DMX Eminem was going to be the bad guy Wow, wow And of course, we talked about it recently This new movie that came out Has been in developmental health for 15 years Jason Momoa, Bradley Cooper, Channing Tatum Luke Evans all attached At some point to play Eric Dravin in the Memory was two weeks away from Very close, very close We haven't had shots of him In that episode of him in the core makeup But, I mean, the big thing about the first pro movie Is Bradley Lee's death, he was 28 years old When he died The legacy of the movie itself It's almost like Watching, it's like macabre You're watching somebody die on screen You're kind of seeing the last moments of his life You're also thinking, wow, this guy Is so fucking good acting in this role What could he have done? Where would his career be now If he did not hear us that day And of course, the cult following of this It's just Every email kid, everybody Everybody who loves movies Especially dark movies, love this movie Everybody says Some people say there could be a crow curse Because Bradley Lee died on set Crow curse Or of course, the curse of Bruce Lee Who died from taking fucking aspirin And a lot of people are speculating That some sort of Chinese mafia, Japanese mafia Was on set and that's who put the bullet in the gun They've gone to all sorts of lengths With the whole conspiracy theory Comic to screen, I know you've read the comic I haven't read it yet What are your comparisons to What you've seen in the comic to what we saw in the screen We'll talk about this movie first Where do you get Kind of get the The bridge between the two What do you have the comparisons between the two In the comic, he's a mechanic And they're just driving home after dinner And they get like a flat tire Believe and then this gang pulls up And basically paralyzes Eric And then he has to watch his girlfriend Get tortured and whatever else Which is kind of In the sequel, which we're going to get to next week City of Angels, I believe the guy is a mechanic It's been a few years since I've seen it so But They have a lot of the same characters Earn it Sarah, which we didn't talk about Shelly's very good friend You don't really know that their relationship Is kind of like an older and younger sister type Relationship. She's in the book, I believe All the breaks in the book Giddies in the book, everyone's in the book Some of the names of the bad guys Have been turned, have been changed Or repurposed There's no Michael Wincox character I believe is not in the book, I think Tintin is the leader of them Underground, drug thing Or whatever they're doing, because the guys Obviously selling coke and stuff like that I don't believe it's in the book I do look forward to Rereading it soon I do want to get into it Yeah And actually doing a deep dive then For the most part It did a lot of what the book did Just differently For all I remember from the book And we may, depending on if I can find it again The comic book completely sold out I wanted to get the hardcover version It was on Amazon, completely sold out After the Crow remake came out with Bill Skarsgard What I know about this movie Before I ever watched it Just getting into WCW Is of course WCW Sting The character in 1995, 1996 That was created Mimicking the movie Mimicking Brendan Lee's Emo Turn And Steve Borden, who plays Sting Before this he was like a surfer character He had the colorful face makeup He came out and started to Blonde here He died his hair black Put on the white makeup like the crow Came out with a trench coat like the crow And ended up being a character on WCW Television for another four or five years Before WCW went under As the crow character And different iterations of the crow character Throughout the last 20 years since he's been on Since this happened in 1996 But the other thing Of course we're going to talk about it right now This is one of my favorite images From the Internet ever Is a sad by sad comparison Of what Heath Ledger did for his Joker In the Dark Knight Some scenes from the crow They were direct mimics Of what Heath Ledger did In the Dark Knight first movie That came out in 2008 Done by Christopher Nolan This was both iconic performances Heath Ledger Died not too long after filming Right during pro's production But both I don't think Brendan Lee got any Nominations or anything through the Oscars But Heath Ledger of course One best actor But overall The side by side comparisons Of the two of them That were kind of having these parallel moments In the movie had parallel moments in life too At the same time With both of them perished Different ways of course But just leaving a lifelong legacy Or a legendary legacy For both movies In this footnote in history But yeah, there's a great scene It's also It's one of the scenes that I see in a lot of movies I see in an episode of Breaking Bad too Where Eric Dravin is in a window cell He's talking to somebody And he slowly backs out of the corner The Joker does that in the Dark Knight too Or he backs out of the room Slowly holding some bombs And he backs out and the door closes in on him Walter White happens in Breaking Bad We don't see a lot of people talking about this There's a scene in one of the Breaking Bad seasons Where he's walking out of the room And then the door slowly closes Behind him as he's backing out of it There's one of my favorite ways of seeing a scene I've seen it a few times in different movies and TV shows too I know it's mimicked because It has to be because of this too Just the legacy of the crow Alone And what it's done to cinema What it did to the emo lifestyle Music of course Was huge metal became huge around this time Metal grunge But yeah overall a fantastic movie And like you mentioned City of Angels now is it a sequel To this? Is it set in the same world? Yes Sarah is in the movie Sarah is in the movie Ok ok so yeah we'll get into that And I know that's not panned as well As the first one And I don't know if it's because Brennan Lee is not the crow this time Do you want to play in the crop? Do you know? I can't remember his name Yeah he's pretty unknown That movie was pretty much the direct result Of studio interference the entire way through We'll talk about that Yeah we'll talk about it next week But it sure reminds me a lot of what happened With the Suicide Squad Or the original Suicide Squad But yeah we'll talk about it next week I'll do all the notes for that Because there's a lot of shit There's a little bar and everyone else Oh well I didn't realize There was a lot of history to that movie but yeah Yeah By the time we get to Halloween we'll talk about the new crow With um with um with a scarch guard So um that being sent Um let's get into the news And it's not a new segment without the trailer Roundup Got a couple of trailers we're going to talk about First one is called Woman of the Hour This movie comes out on Netflix on October 18th Directed by Anna Kendrick Um we talked about it a couple weeks ago About this guy who was on the dating game Who ends up having a murderous rampage While he's filming this He's already killed a few people Um and the person that Anna Kendrick Who directed this movie Is also playing the star of it Um the person that he ends up getting a date with Um the way the trailer is hinting to is Like he's stalking her But I don't think that really happened in real life This is all done for dramatic effect for the movie I know but um the story itself is interesting He ends up getting caught I think a year after The dating game and episode airs And then they find out Oh yeah shit this guy was on TV This guy was out and about He was killing people Um very interesting story A movie comes out on October 18th I wanted to bring that up Um Squid Game Season 2 Season 1 Have you watched Season 1 yet? Oh yeah, twice Yup, I need to watch that Um that comes out on December 26th Teaser trailer come out yesterday Um Brothers A movie I did not know about till this week Starring The Dink Dinklage, Peter Dinklage And Josh Brolin, Glenn Close, Marissa Tomei Brendan Frazier Why does Josh Brolin just look like Or a homeless version of John Cena in this photo? He touched your fright Uh this comes out on Amazon Prime In the middle of October 17th New movie Um looks fantastic, wasn't really funny Reminding me a lot of Cohen Brothers For me as a hit and miss I know a lot of people love Cohen Brothers Um that big movie that they had I wasn't a huge fan of No country for old men, I wasn't a huge fan of that Um True grit, I loved I believe they produced this movie I believe But yeah, it looks funny Reminding me a lot of twins With Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger But on a different level But um yeah, it comes out next month I'm gonna watch that Um No trailers, but I wanted to bring up the posters For here, this comes out November 1st This is of course Robert Zemeckis's new film I'll set in one room the whole entire movie And you see the world change around them It's kind of like a history changing Events happen around this family Um and Nosferatu This comes out on Christmas Day Um Robert Eggers Nosferatu, of course, played by Bill Zemeckis He's also very hit or miss Um but this movie I saw the preview before bike riders And it looks good Yep, yep Um Mr. Crockett, did you end up seeing this trailer? I think I sent it to It's like a horror movie Um it's a horror movie And the whole premise of it I don't know what the date is This comes out next month sometime But there's a videotape that this woman This woman rents or finds At a library or something And it's a videotape of this children's show Kind of like Mr. Rogers Um something like that And they put the videotape in the TV And this character is called Mr. Crockett And he ends up coming out of the TV That's watching the videotape, watching the show It looks really cool Um other than that, I don't know much more about it It comes out on Hulu, I just don't know And sometime next month Maybe we'll talk about it in a couple weeks Um Office, reboot, Australian version Coming out on Prime next month On October 18th First trailer for that released A lot of people are Saying not my office I'm kind of there too It definitely looks like they're trying to be The American office, trying to be the Michael Scott, trying to even be The Ricky Gervais office from UK But um I don't know, I'll watch I love the office, so I may watch that I'm of course excited about the new one too Um we got a new trailer for Joker Which comes out in a couple weeks Of course I don't have that on here Uh the Joker fully ado Um yeah, it just, it looks good But the first Joker for me The last 20 minutes was good I just don't know if a whole movie And by the way the The reviews were looking and I don't know If a whole movie of the sequel of the Joker Is going to be good, but we'll probably end up seeing it At some point Um but a trailer that I was Excited for, a movie I heard about a while ago Called Mickey 17 Did you end up watching that trailer? Yeah um What a crazy fun I knew it was going to be a sci-fi I didn't know it was going to be like It almost looks like a dark comedy I did not know that was going to be the situation We're going into And Robert Pads' voice in this movie It's an American voice It has an American voice Um I thought it looked great Sci-fi, he plays a verse, 17th version of himself Where every time something goes wrong And they kill the original Mickey Or the Mickey beforehand And he's cloned So the one that they're talking about Mickey 17 is the 17th clone of Mickey Um it looks funny And they find out that there's Two of them together at one time There's only supposed to be one version Not two clones of together I guess there's like two or three of them The way the trailer's depicted But um looks very funny, looks very good Robert Pattinson looks fantastic in it So something I'm looking forward to And that comes out um believe in January January 31st or something like that Weekend box office Last weekend The needle juice won the box office With 51 million, speak no evil Um 11.5 million That's the one with James McAvoy Um Deadpool Wolverine Number three with 5.2 million Rumor that comes out on digital In a week and a half I think actually maybe two weeks from today We'll have to wait and see on that Rest in peace to Tito Jackson The middle The middle family member The founding member of the Jackson 5 Of course died at 70 years old Rest in peace to him And the Emmys happened last week Talk about all the winners and losers And everything that happened First of all John Oliver got played off Talking about his family's dead dog He's like fuck you There you go, he's talking to the Emmys When people get played off the Emmys It's funny as hell Selena Gomez Steve Martin and Martin Short all came out Um And she made a joke Because Donald Trump had said something about Childish Uh I don't want anything to get into that But they came out and told jokes And we're on the Emmys stage I thought their repertoire together Was really cool Of course if you've seen the show you know that too Um but the big winners Outstanding actor in a comedy series Jeremy Allen White For the bear as well And supporting actress For the bear Lisa Collins Ziya Ziya We've talked about her recently She's the wife of Batista And Dexter She won the best supporting actress I believe she's one of the first Latin actresses to win that Or maybe in a while I don't remember I saw something about that But And the big controversy Of the bear being at the Emmys Is that it's in the comedy category Yeah Is the show a comedy? Is the show a comedy? Not at all There's a lot in horror There's a lot of moments Especially around Evan Moss Bockerock's character Of Richie And even there's a lot of comedic Is it even a dark comedy There's parts of it that are comedic But it's so fucking Butthole clenching The whole entire series And that's the whole thing The whole controversy Of the bear winning Is it a comedy? Should this be in this category Or should it be in the drama category And a lot of people were speaking out about it The Rain Newman from SNL had talked about Says she could feel an ulcer developing Over the bear being a comedy But speaking of Comedy The bear did not win up standing comedy A show called Hacks Which I've heard about and never saw Also lead actress Jean Smart Who plays that one for best actress For lead in a comedy as well I had no idea what the show is about Still don't know I just know one comedy over the bear I don't know if you've heard anything Have you watched anything about Hacks I don't even know what it's on Yeah, HBO I think So it's an HBO show or one of those I don't know But the other big winner That night was showgun Which I've not watched I do want to see One 18 Emmys All-time record for a single season of a TV show Best drama, best directing, sound mixing, sound editing Picture editing, cinematography Periodic costumes, main title This is a show that's not in English At all, right? There's maybe a few scenes in English Mostly subtitles, right? Mostly subtitles, yeah Of course, starting the guy who played Scorpion in the New Memorial combat This is a Hulu show I haven't seen it, but I do want to see it Based on the book Based off a book, I think there was an actual Wasn't there another series in the 80s or something? There's another series Based on the book, I think it went a few seasons Originally, this was supposed to only go one season Because of how popular it was They immediately green-lit a second Which is interesting Yeah, the first season is very good I got about halfway through it And then it works hard to get busy, so I stopped Because it takes a lot for me to watch Something with subtitles Because you really have to pay attention Yeah, and we're speaking of which When you watch the quick game, watch it with subtitles Don't watch the dub version Okay, okay All right, I've seen it twice once in each way And I think the dub version is fine For like the first time watching it But like you just get a lot more nuance with the sub-title version You're not the first person I've heard say that to me about other things too What was the last thing? I came out with the last thing that came out with subtitles But Jody Foster, one for lead actress in a limited anthology series For true detective, I have never watched any of the true detective shows The only thing I know is everybody says the first The only thing I know is the first season was good Other than that, I don't know The big winner for supporting actor in an anthology series Was Lamour Morris, who I fucking love in New Girl I mean one for Fargo, which is another show I've never seen But Lamour Morris is funny in New Girl, if you've never seen New Girl, he's great in that Billy Crunup, we talked about him last week Supporting actor in a drama series For the morning show, another show I never watched Elizabeth DeBecce from The Crown, sporting actress in the drama series And Richard Gadd The writer, star, creator of Baby Rain Deer One for best limited series at the Emmys Also one for his writing And starring in Baby Rain Deer, which was a fantastic series on Netflix So you watched it? Oh my god, yeah, we talked about it a couple months ago This was fantastic And Jessica Gunning, who played the lead in this show, was outstanding And she won best supporting actress in the limited series, rightfully so That show, it's on Netflix, watch it this weekend, or when you get out of work Make it one of your first things you watched, Kevin, you will love it Lots of twists and turns, I think the episodes are pretty quick too Maybe half hour episodes And it's a true story based on his life, right? Based on something that actually happened to him, this woman ended up stalking him And went crazy, got crazy And the true life, whatever, what happened in real life too The woman, after the movie, after this TV series got popular Ended up suing Netflix and suing him for... Yes, okay, now I remember talking about it But total Emmy wins this week, FX with 36 of course The bear, and they got showgun, so that's right there Netflix 24 HBO Max 14, which is kind of low for them Apple TV 10, we've talked about it before, Apple TV Critically I claimed, but there's no... Oh, it is their own original stuff, own IP, which is good for them But they don't own it, they don't have anything on there They do everything that they do is of high quality, they just don't have a lot on it But it's crazy how a few years ago, even The Emmys and the Oscars were always fighting back against giving anything to Netflix Because they were quote unquote "streaming" And now they fucking cleaned up and everything else, like FX, all those shows Basically go right to Hulu, there's no streaming service So it's pretty crazy, they won't swap back against giving any of them awards Yeah, streaming is the king of everything Disney Plus, Hulu, ABC, NBC, all had seven wins all tied along CBS 5, Amazon 4, Peacock 3 I can't name a show on Peacock that would have Emmy nominations, I don't know what they won for Emmy viewership jumped 54% I mean 6.9 million viewers, it doesn't seem like a lot But in today's comparison to what we used to watch back in the day when everything was like 100 million viewers Yeah, I thought it was good for the clips I saw I watched it You did, you watched it We did a group watch, which is great if you go on Discord Somebody can just have the stream going so everyone can just watch it together So that was a fun time, like 5 or 6 of us just shooting the shit about these shows And that's what put "Baby Ranger" on my radar, they all said it was fantastic too I'm gonna start that tonight, so They all started that tonight I got too much love That's great Baby Ranger is a very quick watch Like I said, half-hour episodes Yeah, I thought it was really good, I think you liked that Actually, cool Last week I talked about Flappy Bird coming back in 2025 And how the creator took it off the apps and everything didn't want anything to do with the popularity of it Slamming this whole news article that came out saying that he did not sell Flappy Bird to anyone He still owns it, he's gonna distance himself from the project And he insisted he did not sell it at all, so I don't know what's gonna happen with it I remember how viral it was, I remember everybody loved it And then it was just deleted from the app store and nobody could play it again But yeah, I did like it, I don't know if it'll come back or not It was announced this week that a remake of Lawrence of Arabia is coming out of series Called Lawrence in Arabia Roland Emric, Anthony McCartney, I know who that is Are planning a three-season series Don't know where it's going to air, a movie I've never seen I've never seen Lawrence of Arabia Can I tell you something? When I was eight I told my father I wanted to rent this movie He was very shocked about this, right? You know why I wanted to rent it? Because I looked at the cover and I thought that was John Claude Van Dam Okay, you're right And I started and I went, what the shit? What? What? And he thought this looked like John Claude Van Dam when I was trying to watch every movie he was in All I know is when people talk about best movies You've got The Godfather and you've got this And a few other ones up in the top of the list of what people say are the best movies of all time Lawrence of Arabia is right up there top five, top ten of a lot of people's movie lists I've never seen it I'd like to watch it and see what it's all about It's all my list of things to watch, so maybe eventually This comes out on October 20th and 23rd I'm sure you saw this in the theater So, you see the original saw in the theater when it came out? No, remember, I was late to the saw party I believe I didn't really go to the theaters a lot from like 2000 to 2010 Probably unless it was like a Batman movie or something Or like something a friend wanted to see or something The first saw I saw in theaters was supposed to saw three It was supposed to be saw three But we went out dinner, went to the theaters and they were sold out opening night So I never even saw that in theaters I think saw four was the actual first when I saw them theaters Well, if you do want to see the unrated versions coming to theaters again On October 20th and 23rd It could be Regal Probably fan of them events If you do want to see, it's going to be there I know the first time I saw saw was over at your house Yes I've only seen the first one Addicted to that movie First three are really good as a trilogy Then it kind of goes off the rails of the second trilogy Then there's the seventh which was in 3D which was actually pretty good And I enjoy them all because they're just enjoyable for me But the first three are actually like a legit decent trilogy that all connect to each other And then they just get fucking outlandish Yeah I announced this week that John Cena is going to be leading a live action matchbox movie About the matchbox cars Kind of going off the Barbie hype that happened last year Well, Barbies was used for girls growing up Matchbox is huge for the boys So let's get the biggest male star that we can think of And get John Cena to play that character Where 10 years ago it would have been the rock Now it's John Cena Yeah, I don't know Matchbox, everybody had them, every boy had at least one matchbox growing up So I was listening to the JR podcast this week He revealed that he has been recording new episodes of Dark Side of the Ring Which there hadn't been a new season announcement for Dark Side But he said he was currently being filmed and he just recorded a episode about Mick Foley I think we just talked about Mick Foley as a speculation of what the next season could be And I think we're talking about Mick Foley would be a great topic on that show It would be everything that happened with him It would be like a two-part episode on that It just sucks that Terry Funk's gone so they can't interview him for it They had such a huge, they had such a huge, they had such a huge relationship And so they'll probably have to use back stuff for him Yeah, they've done a lot of interviews They've done a lot of interviews for the years They can probably take on people that have done interviews before and past it And they've talked about some of this stuff before They've talked about Hell in the South And a few other things But Mick Foley's career, huge for us I mean, me and it was right when I was getting into wrestling He was in his prime when he won his title and everything James Cameron's been deep in the Avatar movies For over a decade, decade and a half now No, fuck longer than that, 20 years now And when he has time to take a break from the Avatar movies He's right now currently getting ready to release the third one next year He's set to direct the last train to Hiroshima The true story of a man who survived not only the atomic bomb in Hiroshima But he got on a train to Nagasaki And he survived another one in Nagasaki Survived both the atomic bombs blast Based off of two books, I believe I don't remember when they came out True story Yeah, but this is a project he wants to get done in between when he's doing the Avatar movies I assume he'll be between three and four Because three shot back to back with two So I don't know if he took a break from four Maybe they're filming four now And he'll do this from there and post for that How old is this guy? How old is this guy? 72 72? I want to say Because I think it was 70 when Avatar released Which is the funniest thing about Avatar 2 released Which is the funniest thing about Avatar 2 releasing Is that it took him like 15 years Wherever to make Avatar 2 And he had COVID so he couldn't even show up for the premiere That's right, that's right I remember that That's fucking funny Night Not sure your thoughts on Jennifer Lopez She's got a lot of weird fucking movies And her catalog But Brett Goldstein who we love for Ted Lasso They're gonna end up doing a movie Jennifer Lopez has a deal with Netflix She's been doing wrong She's been doing movies on there But she's gonna be doing a rom-com With Ted Lasso's Brett Goldstein Considering an office romance is what they're calling it He's gonna be co-writing it With Joe Kelly on who that is But yeah, several great character roles are gonna be in it as well So I love him I'm not... I don't really care less about Jennifer Lopez by the way I don't think I've ever seen a movie with her in it The wedding for a movie with you She's in Anaconda, right? I did see Anaconda back in the day Oh, Jersey girl Jersey girl Yeah, she wasn't even in it much, right? Like she's like dies? Speaking of Jennifer Lopez, I forgot to put this in the notes But we gotta talk about it We gotta talk about P.D.D. The thousand bottles of baby lotion That this FBI sees from his house And the 115 dildos The 115 dildos I saw a tweet I saw a tweet that was like Anytime you hear gangster rapper, just remember That guy probably got dildos shipped up his ass by P.D. at one point And his before he became famous He's also like the most dangerous prison So he maybe did by the time we talk next week That story is crazy Everything that's coming out about it The sex trafficking The filming clip This is like out of 5 or 6 years ago in the breakfast club And they played a clip with Diddy in studio And they were like this is a clip from your party the night before And it was like it was pretty out there And he was like I don't even remember that blah blah blah And it was like now that you hear all these stories come in And you're like, huh? Wonder what was going on, daddy? Did you see the video of him He's meeting Justin Bieber This is right before I think this year He's meeting Justin Bieber behind the scenes somewhere And he ends up patting him down to make sure that Justin Bieber wasn't wired Because he was so worried that he was being followed by the FBI at the time That video was funny too But oh my god, you're right, he isn't a bad prison And also the big rumor and speculation that we talked about on the podcast Before is who killed Biggie or Tupac? We all think it's puffed Was it puffed? Was he involved in some way of at least Tupac's murder? We don't know, but I don't think we'll ever know Maybe, I mean the Kefi D, whatever his name is I think he was also involved with Biggies Because it wasn't he with Biggie And he refused to take the same car as him or something like that Something weird like that, yeah We'll talk about that maybe next week We'll hear more about it because he was just arrested a couple days ago But we talked about Nicholas Cage coming out to play John Madden And they showed the first picture of him in costume And that's it for John Madden We talked about how the fuck is he gonna look at John Madden? Well, that's what he looks like Actually, it looks like John fucking Madden But yeah, that's funny fucking looking They confirmed that Peaky Blinders is gonna be set in World War II If you've ever seen Peaky Blinders, I think it starts at World War I And slowly builds up through time going up in the time I got to finish the last season of that I think it's right after World War I Because I think it starts during Prohibition Or maybe it's before Prohibition Okay, yeah, that's what it is Yeah, when it comes back from the war They didn't have Prohibition in Britain I can't remember, there's something else going on there Oh, okay Yeah, but yeah, the movie I can't wait to see And I got to finish the series So if you have not watched Peaky Blinders, it's on Netflix It is great Killing Murphy is fantastic in it Lin-Manuel Miranda released all the people that are going to be on his warriors Soundtrack/retelling remake Songs that he did for this album He watched the movie The Warriors, read the book The Warriors And he made all of these songs And brought in prominent artists too to do the songs too He brought in Cameron, Ghostface Killariza, Nas Nas actually helped him produce this Lin-Manuel Buster Rhimes, a few other ones Coleman Domingos in it Lauren Hills in it Huge cash on not only hip hop but Broadway music as well But yeah, I like Lin-Manuel I've never seen The Warriors Never read the book, I know it's something I want to watch probably next month Not sure how this is going to hit me because I'm not into The Warriors I'm not into The Warriors I'm not sure how it's going to hit me, but It's not going to be like a Broadway show, it's just releasing an album, a concept album Kind of a cool idea, he kind of did that with Hamilton too But he actually did the play for it, this is just going to be the album 28 years later Completely filmed on an iPhone 15, not even the latest model Yeah, I have never seen any of these movies The 28 movies, 28 days, 28 weeks, 28 years 28 days later is one of the best zombie things you can watch It's so good Yeah, I got to watch them, of course Killian's in those too The Warriors comes out Yeah, definitely Tom Holland and Austin Butler are going to be in a drug smuggling brothers movie Called American Speed, don't know anything about that Two of Hollywood's most one is Yeah, most one of the stars right now, so EA confirms that Star Wars Jedi game The third one is going to be the final chapter in this series I haven't even played the second one, I've only beaten the first one Yeah, once I get into it, I will probably get it I got the second one for like 30 bucks at like Christmas So I'm sure they'll be sales, so you'll probably get cheap if it's not even like free on PSF Kevin, do you see the star? It's even sadder than that, I believe I have the game and I've never even put a name here Okay, the game has like what they call like When you just like difficulties and leave there's one call of like story mode So you just fly through that I believe pretty quickly from what I've been told And you do all the actions up, it's just super easy, super digestible Cause the first one was just a bitch at times And figuring out where to go and stuff so they kind of simplified that for us Dumb dums in our 40s Yes, I am way too old to struggle with videos Which is why it's so difficult for me to get into nowadays I forgot to put this in the notes on the YouTube, but Skeleton Crew revealed the first look at Jaleel White's Space Pirate Of course the Star Wars, Skeleton Crew comes out in December Jaleel White, if you don't know who that is It's Steve Ruckel from Family Matters He's come in to play this new character, Space Pirate in Skeleton Crew From what I hear, this show is gonna be good, but we heard the same about the accolade too So who knows? Yeah, we'll see, comes out in December Mr. Beast, YouTube Sensation Being sued with Amazon by contestants of Beast's game That show we had on Amazon, including allegations of sexual harassment Don't know much about that, I just know that Mr. Beast is a huge online influencer Yeah Valkyrie Actress Valkyrie, I don't know who this is He uses Jason Momo of mistreating Minecraft movie crew She's saying she was pretty disappointed Her direct quote, I just saw him mistreat some of the crew Said the streamer It was pretty disappointing It was after a very intense scene A very emotional scene So maybe he was in character, I don't know But I was just surprised by how he treated some of the crew I've actually happily heard this before about Jason Momo, and this show could be a dick Yeah, but wasn't that from what's her name during Aquaman 2? Wasn't it Amber Heard? Amber Heard, yeah, that's right It's Amber Heard who poops the bed Amber Turd, that's right, that's what it was Batman, next week on September 26th is gonna be receiving his star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame I believe, isn't it Jim Lee is gonna be doing the honor for that, taking the honor for our Batman game I'm gonna have a lot of, I believe that may be Adam West's day too, Adam West's birthday I can't remember, there's a big deal about that date, but yeah, that's cool We didn't talk about this last week, but I saw it right after we came off the podcast I wanted to bring it up this week Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Arnold Schwarzenegger We talked about the Batman and all the, if the aesthetics gonna be blue, it's gonna be set in wintertime Mr. Freeze, play a big part of that Well, Patrick Schwarzenegger went on Twitter and posted, "Winter has come at last, the Iceman cometh "Of course, a line from his father in Batman and Robin, however, Patrick Schwarzenegger was great in Gen V "It's been off of the boys, I think he would be fantastic in the Batman "Whether he plays Mr. Freeze or not, I would love to see him in something "I think he would be a great Victor Freeze, to be honest with you" Yeah, I think that would be cool, I don't know, I don't know what else he's actually done besides Gen V, but I thought he was great in that He was only in it for briefly for the first episode and a couple flashbacks, but yeah, I wanted to bring that up Um, no cool creator Danny Kate says he has been talking with Sony and got to read the script for Venom in the last dance, his direct quote "I'll say this, it's so much bigger and so much more ambitious than you can imagine" And um, no, holy shits, that's how you treat a king Um, the hype for this is huge, especially since that last trailer came out I cannot wait for it even though I know Sony's move, I cannot wait to see it Cause I love, I love no, I love the symbiote, Venom is my favorite character, it really is I like these movies even though I know they're not that true to the original Cause they obviously can't have Peter Parker in them, but they're just three, they're just popcorn fun Um, they have really true to the character, the way you wanted them treated, but to me they're kind of, it's fine for me I love the relationship with the Venom symbiote, they're great when they're together so Yeah, forward to it Speaking of Spiderman, Universal's Hollywood Islands of Adventure, not Hollywood Islands of Adventure in Florida, the best ride that they have there I'm not in the roller coasters, everybody says it could be the whole coaster, I don't know But the best sit down ride that they have at the Islands of Adventure down there Is the Spiderman ride The reason why Disney can't have anything east of the Mississippi that has anything to do with Avengers Is because of the deal they have with Universal Well the rumor came out this week is that, and because of they have all these, they have a whole superhero park at Universal's Islands of Adventure Um, the rumors come out this week that they're maybe developing a replacement for the Marvel Superhero Land in Islands of Adventure and getting rid of all of those rides The rumor being, instead of having all of this stuff, it would be Pokemon, which is huge internationally I could see that, however, losing that Spiderman ride would be huge because I love that ride It's kind of like, when we lost back to the future, we're never going to see that again That was huge, awesome ride Spiderman ride was great too You're actually going through the City of New York with Spiderman You end up walking into the Daily Bugle when you first get on the ride Very cool, very interactive Yeah, it just sucks if that does go away the whole world The Hulk Coaster is the big landmark of that park But Pokemon internationally well known And this also could open up the fact that Marvel could open up Avengers into Disney World Which they haven't been able to do because they couldn't touch the property because Universal had the rights to the Mississippi Yeah, we'll have to wait and see on that And finally in news, Deadpool and Wolverine coming out in a couple weeks in digital Has officially been the fifth highest grossing comic book movie ever Passing the Avengers, which came out 12 years ago That just came out today It's a huge movie And all considering it's our rated movie, that's pretty fucking cool And I can't wait to see it again and it comes out in a couple weeks So we will be watching that That's it for our show That's it for this week Next week we're going to talk about Only Murders, Rings of Power, Pen Ultimate episode I believe Talk about Agatha all along in episode 3 Penguin episode 2 Final movies for football I wanted to ask you about the last Boy Scout, good movie or no Bruce Willis I like it a lot, but we will not be talking about Penguin episode 2 Because that doesn't come out until Sunday night I forgot that's right, we'll talk about that in a week after But last Boy Scouts, Bruce Willis is fantastic I like that movie a lot, we were just talking about it at work actually So if you want to watch that with Friday Night Lights, cool because I love the last Boy Scout And of course we're going to talk about the Crow City of Angels, we'll talk about the second Crow movie Coming out on Apple TV, either today or next week, I can't remember wolves Coming out next Friday, Megalopolis But the one that we've all been waiting for, the documentary coming out on Wednesday on Netflix Mr. Mick Mann I cannot wait for this six part, five part documentary, I can't remember what it was Coming out on Netflix, of course we talked about it for months Very excited for it And we're going to try to watch every single episode before we record next week so we can talk about the whole entire thing I am very excited for that So look forward to that And the week after, we'll talk about a new show and tell, I have a great show and tell I just got it in the mail, beginning of the week, end of the week, last week The week after, so Thank you everyone, and we will talk to you next week Peace Where
